- 0:03Speaker 1: Blue Black Cap Podcast. Man, we got a special guest
- 0:05Speaker 1: in here. Pacoimas in the building. Maka's in the building.
- 0:10Speaker 2: What's good, broing? Really, thank you for having me, you
- 0:13Speaker 2: know what I'm saying.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Uh So, first of all, Man, you are the second
- 0:17Speaker 1: artist we've ever had from Pacorma on the show.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, shout out picks.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Yes, I've seen that the eight is in the building. Yeah,
- 0:26Speaker 1: I guess, I guess if you consider. I mean, Whack
- 0:27Speaker 1: one hundred is not a rapper, but he's been on
- 0:29Speaker 1: the show before. But welcome to the show. Man. You've
- 0:32Speaker 1: been you've been moving to shake and run around the country.
- 0:34Speaker 1: How long you been doing this music ship?
- 0:36Speaker 2: Uh for a minute. I think I started like what
- 0:40Speaker 2: twenty twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen, but like more and so
- 0:44Speaker 2: it's just like as a hobby, right, I didn't really
- 0:46Speaker 2: take it serious until like this past what six months.
- 0:50Speaker 1: So like you barely just started taking it serious.
- 0:52Speaker 2: It's because like it, yes and no, like it'd be
- 0:56Speaker 2: like my my my roller coaster of you know, like life,
- 1:01Speaker 2: right man.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I mean, at the end of the day, motherfuckers gotta
- 1:03Speaker 1: pay bills, pay bills.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I got a daughter, right, you know what? I mean,
- 1:06Speaker 2: so it's like I was putting a lot of priorities.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I would say, you know, but above the dream, you
- 1:14Speaker 2: know what I mean. So it came down to it
- 1:16Speaker 2: like I was sitting down with a couple of homies,
- 1:19Speaker 2: and oddly enough, Bravo, the bag chaser, was like, you
- 1:22Speaker 2: just gotta put two feet in it. Yeah, great guy,
- 1:25Speaker 2: And so I did, and now we're here. Yeah on
- 1:27Speaker 2: the Bootlegs show.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Shout out to Bravo. Yeah, you know. I try to
- 1:31Speaker 1: give Bravo advice.
- 1:31Speaker 2: He never listens, you.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Know, even though he's like he's Jack and he's like healthier.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I just was like, you gotta stop sucking on these
- 1:38Speaker 1: fucking balloons. Dog in the studio. Every time Bravo comes
- 1:41Speaker 1: to the fucking studio, there's a giant tank and it's
- 1:43Speaker 1: like twelve bitches all got. It's like a fucking birthday party.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Not the sessions that we be having.
- 1:49Speaker 1: No, I don't know that.
- 1:51Speaker 2: But was my brother.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Man, great guy, Man, great guy. He's like just his
- 1:56Speaker 1: growth too.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It's been dope to see all independent too, Like gosh,
- 1:59Speaker 2: it's he's not what crazy, He's a blueprint that a
- 2:04Speaker 2: lot of artist should try to follow.
- 2:05Speaker 1: His tour he just did was super successful too.
- 2:08Speaker 2: And he dropped the He went on tour before he
- 2:10Speaker 2: dropped the album, which is insane.
- 2:12Speaker 1: A man that's that demand.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I thought that was the crazy shit ever because he
- 2:16Speaker 2: dropped on his birthday, but his tour happened like probably
- 2:18Speaker 2: like a couple of months before, you know, so I
- 2:21Speaker 2: thought that sh was dope.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Would you say like that that kind of generation of
- 2:24Speaker 1: la hip hop, the Bravos, the Shorelines to Draco's like
- 2:27Speaker 1: a big influence on you.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Yeahred percent, you know what I mean. I mean, Bravo
- 2:31Speaker 2: and himself like just being independent. That should be like
- 2:34Speaker 2: every artist's dreams because he's eating everything he's putting out right,
- 2:36Speaker 2: you know, it doesn't have to split the pot with
- 2:38Speaker 2: nobody else but himself, you know what I mean. But uh,
- 2:42Speaker 2: Draco and like Charline's influence on artists and the people
- 2:46Speaker 2: itself is like definitely like generational, you know what I mean.
- 2:48Speaker 1: But you're also very like melodic with your ship. Is
- 2:51Speaker 1: that something like that? You always kind of just had
- 2:54Speaker 1: that pocket?
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I grew up singing, like I mean, I still sing,
- 2:58Speaker 2: you know, but yeah, grew up in like a singing household.
- 3:02Speaker 2: My mom loves to sing. You know. She's like to
- 3:05Speaker 2: this day, her and my dad are still in the
- 3:07Speaker 2: choir for the church. Oh shit, you know what I mean.
- 3:10Speaker 2: So I grew up like my my background and it
- 3:12Speaker 2: was really like soul full gospel, you know what I mean.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So I think that's where like it stems from. And
- 3:18Speaker 2: then just attaching that to like not being ugly kind
- 3:22Speaker 2: of works for me, you know.
- 3:24Speaker 1: So that's a great line. Ye Like, look, I know
- 3:28Speaker 1: I'm not a bad looking guy. Yeah you know what
- 3:30Speaker 1: I mean.
- 3:30Speaker 2: That way, it doesn't you don't seem too cocky, you know.
- 3:33Speaker 2: But yeah, so I've I've always I've always been able
- 3:37Speaker 2: to sing. I've always like sang. You know.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I feel like you either like like if you can sing,
- 3:41Speaker 1: it's either your it's like you got to be like
- 3:45Speaker 1: a really good looking dude, or you got to be
- 3:47Speaker 1: kind of like road wave. People would be like, Yo,
- 3:50Speaker 1: this big dude sounds like.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Crazy because even who's that one artist? I don't know
- 3:56Speaker 2: if I'm saying it right, but cocky Cocky k or
- 3:58Speaker 2: Khaki ka no idea. Uh he's the one with the
- 4:01Speaker 2: Friday and Meek Mill that song.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean I don't big dude, but can
- 4:05Speaker 1: sing his ass of the Proud to Me record. Yes,
- 4:09Speaker 1: I didn't even know anybody else was on that song.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Well no, it's the no no, no, what song is that?
- 4:13Speaker 2: You know what song that is?
- 4:14Speaker 1: Cyrus died Choke Me? Please?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah? What what's your song name? Anyways? But yeah it
- 4:25Speaker 2: you can either go that. You can either really really
- 4:27Speaker 2: sing Chris Brown level or you know sorre.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You grew up in Pacoima, Yeah, I grew up.
- 4:34Speaker 2: My childhood is in Pacoima. And then from there, uh,
- 4:38Speaker 2: my parents, my parents, uh they move like Mission Hills, you.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Know, and then shout out to Mission Hills.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Man, small city.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Mission Hills is like one of those places where when
- 4:50Speaker 1: you move to La you start like trying to like
- 4:53Speaker 1: damn all the houses are so expensive, and then you
- 4:55Speaker 1: get out to like Mission Hills. Oh you get a
- 4:59Speaker 1: little crib over here.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, you know what I mean, Like the.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Deeper in the valley you get. Man, You're like, I
- 5:05Speaker 1: guess I'll drive. I could drive forty five minutes.
- 5:07Speaker 2: It's not that bad.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It's not there, you know what, And then before you
- 5:09Speaker 1: know it, you're hitting Santa Clarita on Zillo and you're like.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Yeah, Santa Creta is Yeah, Santa Claris is not bad.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Though it's not bad.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I like it out there, you know, it's definitely like
- 5:19Speaker 2: like I thought, I think the valley is out the
- 5:22Speaker 2: way spot, but Santa Clarita can't country. All that is
- 5:24Speaker 2: really out the out.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Super out the way, you know what it is because
- 5:27Speaker 1: if an accident happens, it's it's only one way in
- 5:30Speaker 1: and out.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you're stuck. You're stuck, you know. But oh yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 2: my my, I grew up. My childhood house is right
- 5:36Speaker 2: there in Pacuoma.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So did you do any sports in the growing up?
- 5:39Speaker 1: What were you doing? Like, like, were you a good student?
- 5:41Speaker 2: Man? I was that delusional kid thinking he was gonna
- 5:45Speaker 2: make it in the NFL.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I mean, dude, your tonguing Yeah, so, like I mean, fuck,
- 5:51Speaker 1: there's so many tongue ins in the NFL.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Not for so, I mean now. And then it got
- 5:55Speaker 2: to like a couple of years to where like we
- 5:58Speaker 2: finally started getting a little bit more wrecked on, like
- 6:01Speaker 2: the culture and stuff like that. Even in music, I
- 6:03Speaker 2: would say, because artists like Jay bug man.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I love I love that do it again. So it
- 6:09Speaker 1: was in Hawaii for like a week and I just
- 6:11Speaker 1: put j Buog Radio on.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm telling you J bug Is. I think he's
- 6:16Speaker 2: sman or he might be have, but he's incredible, even
- 6:19Speaker 2: to where like Fiji, who is our people's Bob Marley. Yeah, yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 2: for sure, you know what I mean. So I feel
- 6:28Speaker 2: like we just started getting a lot more recognition in
- 6:31Speaker 2: that space where it's like music, uh to like the
- 6:34Speaker 2: sports side, Like I'm glad we're finally getting reognition because
- 6:38Speaker 2: a lot of people don't know what Tongans are Samoans
- 6:40Speaker 2: for sure, you know what I mean.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I feel like most people group all of y'all in.
- 6:46Speaker 2: But now, and this is my biggest pet peeve and
- 6:49Speaker 2: there's nothing against him, but now my biggest pet peeve
- 6:51Speaker 2: is when they group us with Asians, right, you know
- 6:54Speaker 2: what I mean? So that's like it does you know,
- 6:58Speaker 2: so like they even gave like our month is grouped together.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Technically you guys are Pacific Islanders, right, No, not technically
- 7:04Speaker 2: we are, Yeah, that's what I mean.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Technically yeah. Yeah. But then then there's like then between
- 7:09Speaker 1: because there's the Filipinos, who depending on which Filipino you ask, yeah,
- 7:13Speaker 1: they all say that they are also Pacific Islanders and
- 7:16Speaker 1: then others will say they're Asians. Yes, they're in between ers.
- 7:19Speaker 2: They are the in between her, and I think that's
- 7:21Speaker 2: where like the the the cloudiness gets, you know, and
- 7:26Speaker 2: like I said, there's nothing against them, I don't got
- 7:28Speaker 2: to no, you know, but it's like we're already so small,
- 7:31Speaker 2: like I'd rather want something for ourselves. You know.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So you were playing high school football.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I went to Alamani, went to Alamani.
- 7:39Speaker 1: What was your position?
- 7:40Speaker 2: I played linebacker, but it was kind of like a
- 7:43Speaker 2: it was a rover position, so it's technically safety, but
- 7:45Speaker 2: they brought me down to the box a lot.
- 7:47Speaker 1: You were like a fucking Troy palm Alo type.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Bruh, yeah, kind of yeah, Buddha Baker one of my
- 7:54Speaker 2: favorite players. But yeah, you know, so that's what I
- 7:57Speaker 2: was doing, not really doing much. You feel me like
- 8:01Speaker 2: it was it was school practice, sleep, repeat, fire, you
- 8:05Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 8:06Speaker 1: So that's dope, man. Yeah, I mean I feel like
- 8:09Speaker 1: I feel like football is like the most obtainable because
- 8:11Speaker 1: there's so many roster spots, so it's like, you know,
- 8:14Speaker 1: if you are I feel like it's one of those
- 8:16Speaker 1: sports that like you don't even have to be necessarily
- 8:19Speaker 1: the most gifted. If you just really grind and like,
- 8:23Speaker 1: it's enough sometimes to get on like a practice squad
- 8:26Speaker 1: or to get on special teams.
- 8:27Speaker 2: For sure, you know what I mean. And like I
- 8:28Speaker 2: would say, like even with like the homies, the only
- 8:32Speaker 2: place you don't really know I'm tonguing is in the
- 8:33Speaker 2: weight room. That's the only place, like outside people either
- 8:36Speaker 2: think I'm black Filipino.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Why did they think that? In the weight rooms because
- 8:39Speaker 1: you're strong?
- 8:42Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, there was like a running joke, Kaylan. I
- 8:45Speaker 2: don't know if it was Kailin or my boy Tie,
- 8:47Speaker 2: there was a running joke that I was on steroids,
- 8:50Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 8:51Speaker 1: So you're not on any pep tides.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Nah, No, I'm scared of needles. I don't even take
- 8:55Speaker 2: pre workout, no stretching, no nothing. As soon as we
- 8:58Speaker 2: walk in straight to the bench.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Yeah, pre workout is. Uh, it's interesting. Yeah that should
- 9:06Speaker 1: have had me scratching my face like a tweaker.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Do that fucking pre workout is but it works. So
- 9:14Speaker 1: you know, so do you work? Are you pretty? You're
- 9:16Speaker 1: pretty like locked in at the gym.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Still No, not right now? Being on the run with jeez,
- 9:20Speaker 2: it's been like so and you try, you try to
- 9:23Speaker 2: stay disciplined on the road, but it's.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Hard, especially like on the food ship. I feel like,
- 9:28Speaker 1: no matter how hard you try, it's like if you
- 9:31Speaker 1: haven't ate all day and it's one am and you're
- 9:33Speaker 1: in a random city, it's like your options are hell limited.
- 9:36Speaker 2: And then you open that door dash app and it's
- 9:38Speaker 2: like order again McDonald's, and it's just like, you know, it's.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Like your damn near need to like bring your own food.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Nah. So it's like I I tried to stay on
- 9:48Speaker 2: top of it, but right now I'm not. I'm so
- 9:50Speaker 2: I'm so off off of it. But I'll get back.
- 9:53Speaker 1: To it, all right. Another podcast brought to you by
- 9:55Speaker 1: odd Socks. That's right, baby, listen, guys, we gotta stop
- 9:59Speaker 1: playing here. The most comfortable socks in the world. We've

- 10:09Speaker 1: only are they the most comfortable socks in the world,

- 10:34Speaker 1: course the vintage you know, odd socks. Man, they got

- 10:39Speaker 1: they just did an incredible job with their odd Socks
- 10:42Speaker 1: pop up in Tampa. Whatever you're into, man. Of course
- 10:46Speaker 1: they got the Budweiser, they got the Michelo, they got that.
- 10:49Speaker 1: They even got fucking liquid death socks. What are we

- 11:03Speaker 1: from the odds Socks pop up that they did? They
- 11:06Speaker 1: made their very own like liquor store, corner store, and
- 11:11Speaker 1: all of the products were odd socks. Yes, cut to
- 11:14Speaker 1: the footage. It looks great. Shout out to odd socks.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Use that promo code. Support our family all right, odd
- 11:19Speaker 1: socksoficial dot com promo code bootleg and save some money
- 11:23Speaker 1: and get some socks. Man, thank me later. So how
- 11:25Speaker 1: do you end up? Because for people who don't know, Uh,
- 11:28Speaker 1: you're rolling with OTX boys, Gezus, I mean he's he
- 11:31Speaker 1: told me, I mean you're the first artist he's kind
- 11:33Speaker 1: of bringing.
- 11:34Speaker 2: In officially on the OTX side, on the OTX boy side. Yeah, definitely.
- 11:39Speaker 1: What what What was it? Uh like that I guess
- 11:42Speaker 1: kind of sparked that relationship in that conversation.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Uh. Well, crazy enough the song itself, Jesus never supposed
- 11:50Speaker 2: to be on it. Okay, I never asked him to
- 11:53Speaker 2: be on it. I didn't even have an open verse
- 11:56Speaker 2: on that song. We drove up to the Bay. When
- 12:00Speaker 2: we drove to the Bay, he had got booked at
- 12:02Speaker 2: a club and we were in the parking lot of
- 12:05Speaker 2: the hotel and I was like, hey, bro, I got
- 12:08Speaker 2: to shoot content real quick because IM about slide in
- 12:09Speaker 2: the morning. And he was like, all right, just pull
- 12:13Speaker 2: up right here. So he opens his car door. He
- 12:15Speaker 2: played through the through his car speakers, and I was like,
- 12:20Speaker 2: this got open verse to it. I was like, shit, no,
- 12:23Speaker 2: I make one. So I called my boy DTV. DTV
- 12:25Speaker 2: opened up a verse, sent it to me like within
- 12:29Speaker 2: probably fifteen minutes. I sent it the bro nothing crickets.
- 12:33Speaker 2: He didn't didn't like the message, didn't tell me it
- 12:36Speaker 2: was gonna get on it. They ended up I ended
- 12:39Speaker 2: up coming back home, but they stayed out there in
- 12:42Speaker 2: the bay because I guess he got booked two days
- 12:45Speaker 2: for sure, you know. So he ended up saying out there,
- 12:49Speaker 2: I'm back in LA. They end up coming back and
- 12:51Speaker 2: I'm calling Hi'm like, yeoh, what's the deal? Was good? Nothing,
- 12:55Speaker 2: And then it was like two am, two am. I
- 12:57Speaker 2: got to misface time call for him. I guess he
- 12:59Speaker 2: was in the studio and then uh, I missed that call.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I was sleep but I woke up to the record
- 13:06Speaker 2: and that's how I done just being done crazy, you know.
- 13:09Speaker 2: So uh from there, that's when he was like sending
- 13:12Speaker 2: me a schedule telling me when I could drop, because
- 13:14Speaker 2: obviously he was keeping me informed with like so we.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Had you already figured out that you guys were gonna
- 13:19Speaker 1: work together prior to you him hit getting on the record.
- 13:22Speaker 1: It was that record kind of the genesis of like, yo,
- 13:25Speaker 1: let me put it out through a TX, like let's
- 13:27Speaker 1: do this together type shit.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Yeah. I think I would say that was because I
- 13:30Speaker 2: was always around, but because I was my homie. We
- 13:32Speaker 2: go to church together, Okay, you know. So that's how
- 13:36Speaker 2: like the relationship formed initially, is it. Uh, We're just
- 13:40Speaker 2: good people, you know what I mean. He's a good dude,
- 13:42Speaker 2: so we just it was easy to mesh, you know.
- 13:45Speaker 2: And then we started going to church together and just
- 13:48Speaker 2: started kicking it, you know what I mean. So like
- 13:50Speaker 2: for me to pull up to the bay that was
- 13:51Speaker 2: nothing he called me. I was like, Yo, I'm going
- 13:53Speaker 2: to the bay if you want to slide. So I
- 13:56Speaker 2: would say that record is what really set it off,
- 13:58Speaker 2: and then even just follow it up after that because
- 14:01Speaker 2: he saw how hard I was working the record as
- 14:03Speaker 2: well as like shooting content for like staying on top
- 14:06Speaker 2: of like the business aspect of it of like you know,
- 14:09Speaker 2: making sure that aligns with his schedule, you know, because
- 14:11Speaker 2: I knew how big of an opportunity it was for
- 14:13Speaker 2: me to get out. So you know, even at that,
- 14:15Speaker 2: like he doesn't have to do a lot of stuff,
- 14:17Speaker 2: he does for me, right, you know what I mean.
- 14:19Speaker 2: It's like effortless the love that he shows to not
- 14:23Speaker 2: only me, but to the record in itself. Like this
- 14:26Speaker 2: tour that we just went on, I missed the first
- 14:28Speaker 2: two days. I think it was like Albuquerque and Albuquerque's
- 14:34Speaker 2: what Texas? No, not New Mexico, it was Albuquerque. And
- 14:37Speaker 2: then there was a spot in Texas that I missed.
- 14:41Speaker 2: He's sending me videos of him performing a song and
- 14:43Speaker 2: I'm not even there. That's fire, you know what I mean.
- 14:45Speaker 2: So it's like he doesn't have to do a lot
- 14:47Speaker 2: of that stuff. But he liked the record, he liked
- 14:50Speaker 2: how it sounded, he liked the message of the records.
- 14:52Speaker 2: So I felt like it was really easy. And then
- 14:54Speaker 2: from there that's when he was like, all right.
- 14:57Speaker 1: That's crazy man, shout out to the church man.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Bringing folks together literally. So I don't know. I think
- 15:03Speaker 2: that there is where it grew like that genuine relationship too,
- 15:08Speaker 2: because like at the end of the day, we don't
- 15:09Speaker 2: really got to we don't got to go to church together,
- 15:11Speaker 2: right hang out?
- 15:11Speaker 1: Well, I mean, look, I think too, it's like dope
- 15:13Speaker 1: to see. I think Jez's been doing a really good
- 15:15Speaker 1: job of like being like a young turned artist, but
- 15:19Speaker 1: also showing kids like you could do all this and
- 15:23Speaker 1: be sober and not be like a jackass I'm saying,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and be about your business and move like a professional.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Like and that's something I respect too, because I don't.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I don't drink or smoke. So he just hit one
- 15:36Speaker 2: year of sobriety like two days ago or something. Yeah,
- 15:40Speaker 2: you know, so.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Were you always like have you always been sober? Did
- 15:44Speaker 1: you ever like go through like being a pothead or Nah?
- 15:46Speaker 2: No, I don't have no like crazy story. I don't
- 15:49Speaker 2: got no reason to just not. That's dope, you know,
- 15:52Speaker 2: like I just never really had the curiosity for it.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Would your parents kill you?
- 15:57Speaker 2: Uh? Nah? Both my both my brothers smoke and drink.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, you know how much? How many of your
- 16:02Speaker 1: family members or security guards in La.
- 16:04Speaker 2: A lot a lot? We went to look when I
- 16:08Speaker 2: when I tell you we went to we went to Kailin.
- 16:10Speaker 2: He's a birthday party. I'm telling you that. As soon
- 16:13Speaker 2: as I get there, I know the security guard he
- 16:15Speaker 2: cut the line. We get there, it's like everybody, every
- 16:18Speaker 2: single security guard in that motherfucker was damn near my family.
- 16:21Speaker 2: They all come to say what's up. So sometimes sometimes
- 16:24Speaker 2: it works for me because if the security guards are
- 16:27Speaker 2: leaving their post to come say up to me, like
- 16:28Speaker 2: everybody else is looking like who is he? You know?
- 16:31Speaker 2: And I don't look like a traditional tonging. So instinctively,
- 16:35Speaker 2: they're not thinking like, oh, that's probably just their cousin
- 16:37Speaker 2: or something, you know what I mean. So, uh, yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 2: it was funny. We just went through that conversation the
- 16:42Speaker 2: other day at their birthday party. But a lot from
- 16:46Speaker 2: like strip clubs, to clubs to just even my cousin
- 16:50Speaker 2: just posted he was a a neon security guard at EEDC.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I think shout out to our brothers at hard Dean
- 16:56Speaker 1: man Ours family. Of course, they've been sponsoring the podcast
- 16:59Speaker 1: for years now. You've been seeing the mic flag for
- 17:01Speaker 1: years now. Want to give a shout out to our brothers.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I just was in Vegas. I had to pull up
- 17:05Speaker 1: all right. Look, it's the number one dispensary in the world.
- 17:08Speaker 1: When I tell you, walk in that thing and the
- 17:11Speaker 1: butt tenders are great. They take care of you immediately.
- 17:14Speaker 1: The selection is great. So when you go to Vegas,
- 17:16Speaker 1: you get into that cab, you get into that uber immediately,
- 17:19Speaker 1: say take me to Hardeen. They don't know what they're doing,
- 17:21Speaker 1: all right, they go get you right, all right, the
- 17:23Speaker 1: number one premium cannabis dispensary in the world. They just
- 17:26Speaker 1: got me right. I was just in town for Raffie's birthday.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Had to pull up. Get right, just this nice little
- 17:31Speaker 1: one to one Hardeing jersey. These are not available, all right,
- 17:36Speaker 1: shot to them man, all right, salute to the family.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Follow him on Instagram Harding Underscore Las Vegas. Sorry, let's
- 17:41Speaker 1: get back to the podcast. Is there any sort of
- 17:43Speaker 1: like rivalry between tongue and samoa?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Uh?
- 17:46Speaker 1: It used to be bad.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that's before my generation though, but it used to
- 17:51Speaker 2: be like like you're like, I was like, you don't
- 17:54Speaker 2: miss miss you know, no, we still don't like it, right,
- 17:57Speaker 2: you know, we still don't like being miss Like you're smoing,
- 18:00Speaker 2: but I'm tongue, you know. But it goes for like
- 18:03Speaker 2: anything like the Mexicans and souths, Like if you call
- 18:05Speaker 2: it a Mexican Salvadorian, they're just gonna correct you. So
- 18:07Speaker 2: that's all it is, just a correction. But as far
- 18:10Speaker 2: as like ongoing like beef or something like that, Like
- 18:12Speaker 2: it hasn't been like that way in years, you know
- 18:15Speaker 2: what I mean. So it used to be like way
- 18:18Speaker 2: worse as I was growing up, But like I said,
- 18:20Speaker 2: that was the generation before me, you know, so.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I feel like too, you know, it's got to be
- 18:26Speaker 1: dope to know, like if you get some motion, like
- 18:29Speaker 1: you have a whole island that's gonna fuck with you.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and they either do or they don't, right, you
- 18:34Speaker 2: know what I mean. They either do it they don't
- 18:36Speaker 2: cause they're definitely a hard crowd to win over, just
- 18:40Speaker 2: because we're so small and we only know what we know,
- 18:45Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So, like, aside from like
- 18:49Speaker 2: the reggae, someone that is super big in our culture
- 18:52Speaker 2: is a He's a rapper named young O from Inglewood.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Oh dope, you know what I mean. So it's like
- 18:57Speaker 2: he's like there was a kid.
- 18:59Speaker 1: That I'm not sure if he was telling or someone
- 19:01Speaker 1: that used to work with Roddy Craig.
- 19:03Speaker 2: That's my boy, Craig, yep, Coreg. Yeah, that's my boy.
- 19:06Speaker 2: He's Simon. He's sing me. Yeah, but that's my boy though,
- 19:10Speaker 2: you know what I mean. Super dope, overly locked in.
- 19:12Speaker 2: But I was Roddy's he was signed with the bird
- 19:15Speaker 2: Vision bird Vision. That was Roddy's only opener when he
- 19:18Speaker 2: dropped Anti Social Yeah yeah, fact crazy.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yeah. That was a legendary tour and then COVID.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Just wiped it all up.
- 19:26Speaker 1: But at least we had that first tour, that one
- 19:28Speaker 1: tour I got to go to that. It was special. Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 1: it was a movie.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Now he's doing his thing, you feel me, So shout
- 19:34Speaker 2: out Craig my boy Mac, who I met through Craig
- 19:37Speaker 2: is a Mario the Scientist sound engineer, you know what
- 19:40Speaker 2: I mean. So it's a lot of big things coming
- 19:41Speaker 2: out of that camp.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Uh. There's some big tongue in wrestlers. Do you know them?
- 19:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny enough. They just tapped in. I'm not
- 19:47Speaker 2: I used to be really big on wrestling growing up.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean, it's like my thing.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm uh. I think Jay Fau just tapped in
- 19:57Speaker 2: with me on Instagram. Yep, dude, So brothers, there's.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Like like Tangaloa. There's there's three tongue in bruhs. One
- 20:05Speaker 1: of them just got released. But there's like the Tall
- 20:08Speaker 1: Full but yeah, the MFTs. I think two out of
- 20:11Speaker 1: the three MFTs are from tongue. Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 2: But yeah, I think I was trying to follow the
- 20:16Speaker 2: storyline because IVE seen them pop up on TikTok.
- 20:18Speaker 1: But I mean, man, what you're in, you're in? Man,
- 20:21Speaker 1: yeah exactly. Then you go to wrestle Mania every year
- 20:25Speaker 1: and I'm going to Summer Slam in August.
- 20:27Speaker 2: That's dope.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:28Speaker 2: See, like I grew up with that, you know. I
- 20:30Speaker 2: grew up with like the Shawn Michaels course, Shohn Seen
- 20:33Speaker 2: and stuff like that, Like that was my and then
- 20:35Speaker 2: as soon as they also I see them still wrestling,
- 20:37Speaker 2: But it's not like the same.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Are you working on the project right now?
- 20:40Speaker 2: Uh?
- 20:41Speaker 1: No? Yes, and the singles you can do the single
- 20:43Speaker 1: thing singles.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I want there to be like more of a demand
- 20:46Speaker 2: for a project than putting out a body of work
- 20:51Speaker 2: that I'm proud of. That kind of like falls on
- 20:53Speaker 2: deaf ears, you know what I mean.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it's because it's like I always tell people, until
- 20:58Speaker 1: you know the demand is there for album, and you'll
- 21:00Speaker 1: know when it's there. Yeah, Like dropping a whole body
- 21:04Speaker 1: of work is like a single shot into the algorithm.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Because you got to you gotta take to account. Right,
- 21:10Speaker 2: Drake just dropped three albums and Drake is one of
- 21:13Speaker 2: the biggest artists of our generation. I'm still skimming through
- 21:16Speaker 2: his album.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yeah, No one, Like everyone's only talking about Iceman exactly.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Like it's crazy because the Habibi joints fire. I that
- 21:27Speaker 1: shit's hard, but no one's talking about that ship and
- 21:29Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, this shit is like some of the
- 21:31Speaker 1: best R and B. Drake we've ever gotten. Facts here,
- 21:34Speaker 1: the Maine Honor shit is not for me.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I haven't even got there yet. But that's my point though,
- 21:39Speaker 2: you know. So it's like getting them to attach and
- 21:42Speaker 2: gravitate to one song to three minutes and let alone
- 21:45Speaker 2: is hard. So once you drop ten songs or whatever.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I feel like, if you got ten records that you
- 21:50Speaker 1: feel strong about, that's ten different opportunities to shoot shots
- 21:54Speaker 1: into the algorithm, ten different different individual releases until like,
- 21:57Speaker 1: but you'll know, like when it's like I need to
- 21:59Speaker 1: drop a prober.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Or space them out. You know, if you got ten,
- 22:02Speaker 2: roll out three and depending on how those go, drop
- 22:05Speaker 2: the project together and throw those three back on the
- 22:06Speaker 2: project for sure, you know so, and it only adds
- 22:09Speaker 2: to extreame count. Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 22:11Speaker 1: So it How active are you in the studio? Are
- 22:14Speaker 1: you like in all the time.
- 22:15Speaker 2: All the time? Yeah, all the time. Right now, it's
- 22:17Speaker 2: been kind of tough because like my my main engineers
- 22:19Speaker 2: working with Brody, they're doing some crazy shit for a
- 22:22Speaker 2: lot of artists. So and not only that, but we've
- 22:26Speaker 2: been on the road that past two months.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Yeah, no, for sure. I mean the Ontario show was crazy, legendary.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Everybody in their mom came out. Yeah, we turned that
- 22:36Speaker 1: to a party. It was like it felt like one
- 22:39Speaker 1: of those like big radio shows. Yeah, it's like, damn
- 22:42Speaker 1: all in La came out at that motherfucker.
- 22:43Speaker 2: No. But the craziest part too, is it the one
- 22:47Speaker 2: in Glendale? Yeah, in As that one was so crazy
- 22:51Speaker 2: because it was like the homies were already there, like
- 22:54Speaker 2: its greedo, sad, greedo jeezy Kaylin, Kaylin, you know what
- 23:00Speaker 2: I mean. And it's like it towards j Z's end
- 23:05Speaker 2: of the set, everyone just came out on stage, show love,
- 23:07Speaker 2: you know what I mean. And that's where like the
- 23:09Speaker 2: vibe was, you know, we left, We left the venue like, bro,
- 23:13Speaker 2: we gotta do something like this. But in La, for sure,
- 23:15Speaker 2: you know what I mean, to where it's like, yeah,
- 23:18Speaker 2: I feel like those shot outs to Jason and those guys.
- 23:20Speaker 2: They always do who Wants Smoke shows, but they always
- 23:21Speaker 2: doing Ontario. But yeah, it's always like Ontario. I they
- 23:26Speaker 2: just sitting out to Vegas. But it's like they gotta
- 23:28Speaker 2: do the Forum. You know what I meant to do
- 23:30Speaker 2: the farm or something like to where it's more you
- 23:33Speaker 2: know for sure. But I mean I'm not mad at
- 23:36Speaker 2: it though, because already end of the day is a
- 23:38Speaker 2: good time.
- 23:38Speaker 1: You already got your next single picked out.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's a it's a single with me and Bravo.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I just got.
- 23:45Speaker 2: I just sent it over to Big Sad on it too,
- 23:46Speaker 2: So I'm trying to wait a little bit so I
- 23:49Speaker 2: can get his verse. But be hard yet to get
- 23:51Speaker 2: all three guys on it. Come on. That's I'm telling
- 23:54Speaker 2: you that that one in itself, like with just Bravo
- 23:57Speaker 2: on it, is one of my favorite tracks I've made
- 23:59Speaker 2: in like two years.
- 24:01Speaker 1: What's it like growing up in Pacoima, because Pacoima is
- 24:04Speaker 1: some of the best Mexican food in the world is
- 24:06Speaker 1: in Pacoima. Yeah, my East Coast be cracking out there. Yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 1: it's also probably in the valley considered like one of
- 24:15Speaker 1: it's probably the most dangerous city in the valley. It's
- 24:17Speaker 1: like probably Pacoima panoramic city.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so I mean Pacoima. I would say it's just
- 24:26Speaker 2: an experience you got to like live, you know what
- 24:28Speaker 2: I mean, Everything from like the ice Cream Man, which
- 24:32Speaker 2: we hardly see nowadays, right, you know, to the palaeo. Man,
- 24:35Speaker 2: it's like the people who walk around with the corn.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I feel like my childhood was like for Pacoima in itself.
- 24:45Speaker 2: I didn't. I don't. I'm not gonna sit here and
- 24:47Speaker 2: say that I experienced a lot out of it because
- 24:49Speaker 2: you know, like I said, I'm talking. So I spent
- 24:51Speaker 2: a lot of my time with my cousins right or
- 24:54Speaker 2: and there's a lot of us. So I never felt
- 24:56Speaker 2: like I was missing anything. So it was either Pacoima
- 24:58Speaker 2: or North Hills, you know. So those are the two
- 25:02Speaker 2: places I bounced back and forth from because my family,
- 25:05Speaker 2: my grandma, like my home base basically from my like
- 25:08Speaker 2: my bloodline was right there in North Hills. But I
- 25:11Speaker 2: grew up where I grew up and where like I
- 25:13Speaker 2: laid my head and stuff like that. With Pacormia, you.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Never were like, uh, tempted to get into the gang
- 25:19Speaker 1: life because it is it is pretty active out there.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Obviously a lot of Hispanic gangs, you know, Perma part
- 25:24Speaker 1: rules out there.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the two piece people. No, not really, I mean,
- 25:28Speaker 2: and it's not even that, it's not even that I
- 25:32Speaker 2: was like, obviously, people are influenced by what they're around
- 25:36Speaker 2: you know what I mean. But was I like tempted
- 25:38Speaker 2: to go from there? Not not really, but like a
- 25:41Speaker 2: lot of my family, a lot of my family members
- 25:43Speaker 2: bang yeah. So it was never like I'm seeing that.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Why would I wrap something else?
- 25:49Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Yeah, I feel like too,
- 25:50Speaker 1: It's like that it could go either way with that.
- 25:52Speaker 1: It's like if you see your family wrapped up in
- 25:56Speaker 1: some shit, it can deter you from like doing it.
- 25:58Speaker 1: It's almost like if you grew up around I'm like, like,
- 26:00Speaker 1: I've never done like hard drugs. Obviously smoking, we do
- 26:03Speaker 1: mushrooms all that shit, but I never did, like know,
- 26:05Speaker 1: like real I'm never goingn cocaine, never popped the pain pill,
- 26:09Speaker 1: no hardcore like real drugs. Because I saw like my
- 26:13Speaker 1: whole family's like tweakers and drug addicts and my caroin
- 26:17Speaker 1: addicts and shit. So I'm like that shit. I saw
- 26:19Speaker 1: that shit growing up, and I was just like, nah, shit.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I barely started smoking weed. I was like nineteen twenty,
- 26:25Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Like it wasn't like something
- 26:27Speaker 1: I was I would like, I wasn't smoking as a kid.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't even I wasn't even drinking like that until
- 26:31Speaker 1: I turned twenty one.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I feel it. I mean, and I feel
- 26:34Speaker 2: like if I played Pop warn Or two, it might've
- 26:36Speaker 2: turned out a little different. But I didn't like my childhood.
- 26:40Speaker 2: I was only doing basketball. So from like of age,
- 26:43Speaker 2: like six years old, you up until high school, I
- 26:46Speaker 2: was hooping.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean. So, did you ever
- 26:49Speaker 1: do the AAU thing? The AAU shit is crazy. It's
- 26:52Speaker 1: like a hustle. Dude. My son plays two different leagues.
- 26:54Speaker 2: It's for real.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Shout out to Raffi Lag Group our family. Yes, it's
- 26:59Speaker 1: been so dope to partner with, you know, such a
- 27:01Speaker 1: name and brand and somebody who I actually am a
- 27:04Speaker 1: customer of. Shout out to Raffi Law Group, man Arizona's
- 27:08Speaker 1: premier personal injury law firm. And I don't just put
- 27:11Speaker 1: my name on anybody. When we do this stuff on
- 27:14Speaker 1: the Bootleg cap podcast and you see us partnering with brands,
- 27:17Speaker 1: we're very selective about who we connect with. And Raffi
- 27:20Speaker 1: is someone who's actually helped my family, helped my wife
- 27:23Speaker 1: get a settlement, all right, has helped over seventy thousand
- 27:27Speaker 1: people in Arizona. No matter what happens. Man car accident
- 27:31Speaker 1: crash injury. You maybe get bit by a dog. I
- 27:34Speaker 1: don't know, whatever it is. Raffi Law Group makes the
- 27:37Speaker 1: process less stressful. They put money in your pocket. Yes,
- 27:41Speaker 1: the name you can trust. You already know, man, Raffi
- 27:44Speaker 1: Law Group. Save the number just in case, because hey,
- 27:47Speaker 1: you get into a car accident tomorrow, you gotta call
- 27:49Speaker 1: Raffi six two three three eight eight four three three
- 27:53Speaker 1: three and want to wish a big happy birthday to
- 27:56Speaker 1: Raffi's just celebrated his fortieth birthday. We had a good
- 27:58Speaker 1: time in Vegas. Fifty cent was there, Paula d was there,
- 28:02Speaker 1: mad Rich was there. E c Rock was there. It
- 28:05Speaker 1: was a movie, all right, Secretary of State was there.
- 28:08Speaker 1: We were just hanging out. Man shot, look shout out
- 28:10Speaker 1: to Brandon Raffi. Don't forget Raffi Law Group. The only
- 28:13Speaker 1: calling you to make if you're an AZ and you
- 28:15Speaker 1: get into an accident, or you get into any sort
- 28:17Speaker 1: of injury situation, they'll take care you immediately call Raffi. Baby.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Let's get back to the podcast.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Yeah, so it was either I was hooping and then
- 28:26Speaker 2: got to high school and sowitched the whole program up
- 28:28Speaker 2: to football.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Yeah, how serious did the football dream get for you,
- 28:31Speaker 1: did you play, like consider going to college to play?
- 28:34Speaker 2: Or nah? Hell, I don't even take my SATs. I knew,
- 28:38Speaker 2: like as soon as I knew from the get I
- 28:40Speaker 2: wasn't going to college.
- 28:42Speaker 1: And then.
- 28:44Speaker 2: But both of my brothers, see like I got two brothers.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I got a older brother, yeah, and a younger brother.
- 28:48Speaker 2: My older brother, true Polynesian, true Polynesian, six four, like
- 28:53Speaker 2: three sixty five right now, just a specimen of a being.
- 28:57Speaker 2: We're only we're only like sixteen months apart. Crazy, you
- 29:01Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 29:01Speaker 1: But he's like true tonguing offensive lineman, ready to go
- 29:06Speaker 1: both offense and defense.
- 29:07Speaker 2: He's a no tackle offensive defense. So he went to
- 29:10Speaker 2: UH he went to U of A. And then my
- 29:13Speaker 2: baby brother, he just he looked just like me. He
- 29:17Speaker 2: went to ASU. So my my parents went their whole
- 29:20Speaker 2: teams in a Yeah, my parents went two for three
- 29:22Speaker 2: rivals out there. Yeah exactly exactly when they go against
- 29:26Speaker 2: each other and ship like that.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Are they currently in college now?
- 29:28Speaker 2: Not? My little brother graduated early and my older brother
- 29:31Speaker 2: graduated like years ago.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Like, if if you weren't doing music, what could you
- 29:36Speaker 1: see yourself doing professionally? Mmmm?
- 29:39Speaker 2: That's a good one shore. I don't know. I don't know.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I had this dream of being a fireman. I mean
- 29:46Speaker 2: that could be fun, but other than that, I don't know,
- 29:48Speaker 2: Like I really because outside even when I was you
- 29:52Speaker 2: know how I told you, like I've been on and
- 29:53Speaker 2: off with music. Even when I was off the music,
- 29:57Speaker 2: I was around music, right, you know what I mean,
- 29:59Speaker 2: Like all my homies and rappers. So like one of
- 30:01Speaker 2: my best friends is Kaitln. Yeah, so when I was
- 30:04Speaker 2: off music, all I was doing was kicking it with
- 30:06Speaker 2: bro you know. So I would go to the studio,
- 30:08Speaker 2: but it wasn't for me, right you know. So he's
- 30:12Speaker 2: another person that kind of like really influenced me and
- 30:14Speaker 2: helped me out a lot because when I wasn't doing
- 30:18Speaker 2: nothing musically, he kind of like kept that spark alive,
- 30:21Speaker 2: right you know. So I was heavily, heavily influenced by
- 30:25Speaker 2: like his work ethic even his music in itself too,
- 30:28Speaker 2: because like he's a lot of bag yeah with the melody,
- 30:32Speaker 2: you know. So like one thing about bros, like he'll
- 30:35Speaker 2: work his ass off for sure. He'll work is and
- 30:37Speaker 2: a lot of people don't see it. He don't get
- 30:38Speaker 2: the recognition because obviously people don't see that side.
- 30:44Speaker 1: But he Yeah, there's certain people who's like studio process,
- 30:47Speaker 1: you'd be like super tripped out by like damn, like
- 30:49Speaker 1: if they weren't really like And then you'll be in
- 30:51Speaker 1: like the studio with other people who like work a
- 30:53Speaker 1: little slower yeah, and.
- 30:55Speaker 2: You're like.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Like, yeah, like Kalen is one of those guys, like
- 31:00Speaker 1: my artist Alexis, this kid can do a whole fucking
- 31:02Speaker 1: album and like a fucking no.
- 31:04Speaker 2: He saw I came here my last time here was
- 31:07Speaker 2: he he asked me to pull up, mind you, he'd
- 31:09Speaker 2: be up crackhead hours. He called me like three am.
- 31:12Speaker 1: It's that cocaine.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Yeah, he called me three am and was like what
- 31:16Speaker 2: are you doing. I'm like, shit sleeping and he was
- 31:19Speaker 2: like pull up to pull up to the studio right now,
- 31:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna play my album crazy shit like you know.
- 31:24Speaker 1: But yeah, it's like it's like when you like, I
- 31:26Speaker 1: feel like everyone has their own process. But when you're
- 31:28Speaker 1: in the studio with like if you're homiees like yo,
- 31:31Speaker 1: and then you get in the studio with somebody who
- 31:33Speaker 1: takes their time a little bit more, You're like, Yo,
- 31:35Speaker 1: these motherfuckers are slow.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's and it's crazy because when we go
- 31:39Speaker 2: if me and Cale and go pull up on another
- 31:41Speaker 2: artist to do a feature or something like that, he
- 31:44Speaker 2: treats it. And this is what like I kind of
- 31:46Speaker 2: picked up on. He treats it as like a friendly competition,
- 31:49Speaker 2: you know, like as soon as he likes to be,
- 31:50Speaker 2: he's on it.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and it.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Always just like stuns the other person.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Like damn, bro, Grito's like that.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Bro.
- 31:56Speaker 1: We had Grito get on some ship and Grito just
- 31:58Speaker 1: like he's like, all right, play it and he just
- 32:01Speaker 1: went in and just like, damn, your one take is versive.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Yeah. No, Greta is another fast worker, too, super fast.
- 32:10Speaker 2: And then you go to like other studio sessions like
- 32:12Speaker 2: Jesus session, the control room quiet, nobody hears nothing until
- 32:16Speaker 2: it's done, you know what I mean. So like that's
- 32:19Speaker 2: also a trip too, because like it's different, you know,
- 32:21Speaker 2: so everyone's recording process is different. But I was blessed
- 32:24Speaker 2: and I was fortunate enough to like kind of pick
- 32:26Speaker 2: away at a lot of stuff and kind of just
- 32:28Speaker 2: take away what I like and see what I'm good
- 32:30Speaker 2: at and then just do it, you know, just practice
- 32:32Speaker 2: it on my own, Like when I step away from them,
- 32:34Speaker 2: So I definitely was like blessed in that sense.
- 32:37Speaker 1: So you got the new record with Jeez going crazy.
- 32:41Speaker 1: You've been on the road because you guys just did Anchorage, Alaska. Yeah,
- 32:46Speaker 1: I mean music took you to Anchorage. That's gotta be crazy.
- 32:49Speaker 2: The craziest part is, like I'm going I'm I'm I'm
- 32:52Speaker 2: going with gis all these places with the mindset of
- 32:55Speaker 2: like I'm going there as support a lot of people,
- 32:59Speaker 2: a lot of or damn near nobody knows who I am, right,
- 33:03Speaker 2: So Angers was a trip because I'm walking through the
- 33:07Speaker 2: crowd to go send them my visuals like if you
- 33:10Speaker 2: played in the background, and it's like, mind you, there's
- 33:13Speaker 2: a lot of tongs out there that I didn't know.
- 33:14Speaker 2: I just found out that Alaska was a state. So
- 33:19Speaker 2: I'm I'm like tripped out. But I'm walking through the
- 33:21Speaker 2: crowd and it's like I'm getting stopped taking pictures like
- 33:24Speaker 2: you feelings like oh shoot, you're maka.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Yeah. They have like I forget what the name of
- 33:29Speaker 1: because there's like the people who are native to Alaska
- 33:32Speaker 1: before it became a state. There's a name. I don't
- 33:35Speaker 1: want to fuck it up. They're not they don't like
- 33:37Speaker 1: to be called Eskimos. There's a name for him. It's
- 33:40Speaker 1: like a type of Native people out there, but they're
- 33:42Speaker 1: not Eskimos. That's I think that's kind of slurrish from
- 33:45Speaker 1: what I understand. I think.
- 33:46Speaker 2: So I think it's like, yeah, I think we're being
- 33:48Speaker 2: racist right now.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I don't mean, I don't mean to be. I just
- 33:51Speaker 1: I'm just off the head. But yeah, no, it's this
- 33:53Speaker 1: whole I mean, shout out to Alaska.
- 33:54Speaker 2: It was cold, Uh, it was cold, but Colorado was colder.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Bro I was freezing Colorado.
- 34:00Speaker 1: You guys get Red Red Rocks, which is like one
- 34:01Speaker 1: of the most legendary venues man, and I was. Kevin
- 34:05Speaker 1: Gates was on the show too.
- 34:06Speaker 2: He was a headliner. Yeah, he was a headliner. But
- 34:09Speaker 2: Red Rocks is probably the best venue I've ever been to.
- 34:12Speaker 2: You know, that ship's a movie. Even the drive up
- 34:15Speaker 2: was so scenic. It was like crazy, and it was raining,
- 34:18Speaker 2: so there was like a lot of red clay on
- 34:20Speaker 2: the floor. But I feel like he made the experience
- 34:23Speaker 2: a lot better. Like, you know, so that show, I'm
- 34:27Speaker 2: telling you was insane. I was surprised they didn't headline it,
- 34:30Speaker 2: but shout out Kevin Gate.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean I was telling Rory the same thing.
- 34:33Speaker 1: I was like, I was like, you guys, do you
- 34:35Speaker 1: guys get headline red Rocks like shots Kevin Gates. Kevin
- 34:38Speaker 1: Gates get headline red Rocks? He did, know I'm saying,
- 34:41Speaker 1: but I'm like, you guys got to go spin the
- 34:43Speaker 1: block on that ship.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Like now we they definitely talked to the right person,
- 34:48Speaker 2: so you know, there we might be at Red Rocks again.
- 34:50Speaker 2: But for the first time, that shit was dope, you
- 34:52Speaker 2: know what I mean. And I was even asking people
- 34:54Speaker 2: that were out there in Colorado. I was like, it's
- 34:57Speaker 2: Kevin Big out here. They're like, oh, dude, love Kevin.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Ye, people love bro Kevin Gates has a thing. Yeah,
- 35:02Speaker 1: it's He's huge, bro. And it's crazy too because like
- 35:06Speaker 1: it's like almost like turned into this like cult following
- 35:09Speaker 1: even though he's like a huge artist, Like people don't
- 35:11Speaker 1: understand how like committed his fans are.
- 35:13Speaker 2: No. And see, that's what I preach to like a
- 35:17Speaker 2: lot of people and even to like my team, is
- 35:19Speaker 2: that I don't see music as the.
- 35:24Speaker 1: End, you know what I mean.
- 35:25Speaker 2: So I Kevin Gates is a good example, but the
- 35:28Speaker 2: example I always use is like somebody like Blueface, right,
- 35:31Speaker 2: so their whole get down is like it doesn't even
- 35:35Speaker 2: matter if they drop music or not, or how long
- 35:38Speaker 2: it's been since they drop music. They have core fans
- 35:41Speaker 2: who are like they're in tune to what they're doing
- 35:43Speaker 2: as a personality.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Yeah, blue Face has turned the like his life into
- 35:47Speaker 1: a reality show for the.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Last six or seven in his work, and he's going crazy.
- 35:50Speaker 1: It works because people are so personally invested in his
- 35:53Speaker 1: life that they're like, yo, what's up with the baby
- 35:57Speaker 1: mama and the other baby mamas? And it's like, like
- 36:00Speaker 1: the toy's doing right now, it looks like it's going
- 36:03Speaker 1: very well, like blue Face. I mean even you know,
- 36:06Speaker 1: he took you know, I feel like a lot of
- 36:08Speaker 1: people think it's too late to get into the streaming game.
- 36:11Speaker 1: But he got got out of prison and got right
- 36:14Speaker 1: to the streaming shit. Yeah, I heard he just got
- 36:16Speaker 1: a crazy deal with Kick Like.
- 36:17Speaker 2: But that's what a lot of people don't understand is that, like,
- 36:20Speaker 2: music can only get you so far, and you can
- 36:22Speaker 2: do really well in music, but if you can get
- 36:25Speaker 2: a group of people, I know, people that don't listen
- 36:27Speaker 2: to Blue Face and music but was tune into a stream,
- 36:30Speaker 2: you know what I mean, And it's all.
- 36:31Speaker 1: And yeah, there's people who are Kevin Gates fan. That's
- 36:34Speaker 1: the only rapper they like, like you know what I mean,
- 36:37Speaker 1: Like for sure, you know.
- 36:39Speaker 2: What I mean. So I like, I want to try
- 36:42Speaker 2: to use the music as like that driving factor to
- 36:45Speaker 2: give me to that point where it's like it doesn't
- 36:46Speaker 2: matter what I do, you know, because and everyone's situation
- 36:49Speaker 2: is different, Like people like Frank Ocean for being mysterious
- 36:52Speaker 2: for sure, you know what I mean. He's like the
- 36:53Speaker 2: only person who could really be named as a headliner
- 36:57Speaker 2: for Coachella and then pull out last minute.
- 36:59Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 36:59Speaker 2: And as to his personality, his person adds.
- 37:02Speaker 1: To the whatever the aura or like, because even when
- 37:07Speaker 1: he did perform that first weekend, it kind of didn't perform,
- 37:10Speaker 1: But he's like, I'm Frank Ocean, I do whatever the
- 37:12Speaker 1: funk I wanted exactly. He's like the mail Lauren Hill.
- 37:15Speaker 2: And then people gonna go for it, yeah you know
- 37:17Speaker 2: what I mean. Like they're not canceling him because he
- 37:19Speaker 2: pulled out last minute. They're like, that's on Frank Ocean.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Shit have been I would have been mad. Likes almost
- 37:23Speaker 1: about tickets for my son to go, and I'm like,
- 37:25Speaker 1: I thank god I didn't.
- 37:27Speaker 2: I mean, a lot of people were mad at to
- 37:29Speaker 2: Justin Bieber.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I thought that ship was cool, But I also wasn't there.
- 37:32Speaker 2: You know. I thought that ship was a vibe. That's
- 37:34Speaker 2: the close thing you're gonna get to kicking it with JV,
- 37:36Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like you want to know
- 37:38Speaker 2: what it's like the kid like.
- 37:39Speaker 1: That's probably what it's gonna get hundred percent.
- 37:41Speaker 2: You know.
- 37:41Speaker 1: So I thought that ship was cool.
- 37:43Speaker 2: I thought it was I thought it was unique. I
- 37:44Speaker 2: never seen thating like that before, for sure.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Did you were you there? No? I just watched on
- 37:48Speaker 1: YouTube shout the beach Man. All right, man, we'll listen
- 37:51Speaker 1: to a new single on the way, hopefully with Big

- 37:57Speaker 1: Jezus out.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Yes, sir, and then hopefully album coming out by the
- 38:01Speaker 2: end of this year. You know.
