- 0:00Speaker 1: I was going on as Romeo. Guys, we met at
- 0:01Speaker 1: the Taco Tuesday. We got into a lot this morning.
- 0:04Speaker 1: We talked a little bit about real estate in Bakersfield.
- 0:07Speaker 1: And my neighbor was getting hit on at at a
- 0:10Speaker 1: bar the other night. And I guess the girl was
- 0:13Speaker 1: dating a guy, but well he didn't want to go
- 0:15Speaker 1: with her, so I don't know she left him or not.
- 0:17Speaker 1: But we'll talk a little bit about that. And then
- 0:18Speaker 1: of course, you guys afraid of AI. AI is supposed
- 0:21Speaker 1: to take over the whole world.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Let's talk about it.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Oh, we got George Lopez with us this morning. He
- 0:28Speaker 1: is a legend in comedy and television and movies. He's
- 0:31Speaker 1: going to be at the Fox Theater Saturday, May sixteenth.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Good morning, George, Good morning.
- 0:37Speaker 3: You know it's always when I see people Monday, always
- 0:40Speaker 3: go hey George Lopez. It's never just just George. I
- 0:44Speaker 3: think from the show. I think the first show. Hey, hey,
- 0:47Speaker 3: get out of the way.
- 0:50Speaker 2: You know, well, it's funny.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I know you you won't remember because you met thousands
- 0:55Speaker 1: of millions of people. We met in Sacramento a long
- 0:58Speaker 1: time ago, when I had first got in a race.
- 1:00Speaker 1: You ks f M and it's been a long time
- 1:03Speaker 1: and your career is just it's incredible how much you've done.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I mean, you know, even at the beginning, man, like
- 1:12Speaker 3: you know, there was no kind of template for uh,
- 1:16Speaker 3: you know, for us, you know, so as as you
- 1:19Speaker 3: kept going, you would be like, oh you could do that.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Like I didn't ever think about having one show, much
- 1:25Speaker 3: less like five. Man. I mean, it's just it was
- 1:28Speaker 3: every day, every day I trip out on it, man,
- 1:30Speaker 3: because it's like I never imagined it would go like this,
- 1:33Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I was gonna And what are you most proud of? Georgia?
- 1:35Speaker 2: I mean, you've done it all. You've done the TV
- 1:38Speaker 2: show with your latest one with.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Was with your daughter, I believe if I remember correctly,
- 1:42Speaker 1: then you had the one before that, which was oh
- 1:45Speaker 1: my god, that one was so funny.
- 1:47Speaker 2: It was more it was what was the one before that,
- 1:50Speaker 2: like like uh the TV landin Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 4: It was more.
- 1:55Speaker 2: It was more like a cur Yes, that one was great.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I'm almost so good. So what are
- 2:02Speaker 2: you most proud? I mean, you've been doing stand up forever.
- 2:05Speaker 2: You're a leg Next.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I don't want to pigeonhole you, but as a Mexican comedian.
- 2:11Speaker 1: You are one of the greatest, if not, I won't
- 2:14Speaker 1: even know who's who's accomplished more than you.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 2:18Speaker 5: You know what.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I think there's two asses. I think doing the show
- 2:21Speaker 3: with Mayan h was pretty much beyond uh my imagination,
- 2:27Speaker 3: you know. And it's funny that being you know, working
- 2:29Speaker 3: with your daughter that when I would see her every day,
- 2:33Speaker 3: I would I would my mind would see her being born,
- 2:36Speaker 3: and see her at two, and see here at five,
- 2:38Speaker 3: and then see her as this woman. So I would say,
- 2:40Speaker 3: because it's hard enough to get a show on your own,
- 2:43Speaker 3: let's let's bring your kid with you. Everybody takes your
- 2:46Speaker 3: kids everywhere. But like you know, and then I think
- 2:49Speaker 3: personally on the on the other side of it, I
- 2:51Speaker 3: think the start on the Walk of Fame in two
- 2:55Speaker 3: thousand and six was pretty big.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Oh that's so impressive. I mean, it's just it's just
- 2:59Speaker 2: in it's the thing.
- 3:01Speaker 1: George is I I me know, I saw you when
- 3:03Speaker 1: you were first starting in the comedy clubs, and now
- 3:06Speaker 1: all these years later, it's.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Just it's incredible to be there in the beginning and
- 3:11Speaker 2: see it all.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Of you know, so you know, back then, you know,
- 3:14Speaker 3: Sacramento was awesome, man, It's just you know those things too,
- 3:17Speaker 3: you know, like all the all the radio relationships you
- 3:20Speaker 3: made and all the clubs and stuff. Is like, if
- 3:24Speaker 3: you're fortunate enough to have people come and see you,
- 3:26Speaker 3: you know, it's easy to get to get better. Man.
- 3:30Speaker 3: But you know sometimes when I when I think about things,
- 3:32Speaker 3: and I'll tell somebody that I don't know if I
- 3:34Speaker 3: would have had the heart for it, if I hadn't
- 3:36Speaker 3: have become successful, Like how much do you take before
- 3:39Speaker 3: you say it? You know, I think i'd wrap this up.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Well, how how did you do it? Though? Georgia? With
- 3:45Speaker 2: this idea?
- 3:45Speaker 1: These comedians coming out today, they go put a little
- 3:47Speaker 1: clip on YouTube or and then their Instagram or TikTok,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and all of a sudden they get a show you
- 3:52Speaker 1: were you were fighting for a space that just wasn't
- 3:55Speaker 1: there when you start.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it's definitely way it's way different.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You know.
- 3:59Speaker 3: One time I was doing this you and they had
- 4:01Speaker 3: some influencers go before me, and they're like, they're gonna go.
- 4:06Speaker 3: They're gonna go before you, with maybe three of them,
- 4:09Speaker 3: And I said, then you'll be the second guest. I said,
- 4:12Speaker 3: all right, But then as they were on they had
- 4:15Speaker 3: nothing to really contribute other than whatever video they showed,
- 4:21Speaker 3: so they kind of ran out of like steam there.
- 4:24Speaker 3: And then when I went out there, you know, all prepared,
- 4:27Speaker 3: you know, and they were like, man, that's the eye
- 4:29Speaker 3: opening you know that that you put three of them
- 4:33Speaker 3: out there and all they're about is what they video.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, so hold on, Georgia. Second, we got
- 4:38Speaker 1: more with George Lopez. He's going to be at the
- 4:40Speaker 1: Fox Theater May sixteenth. They get your tickets. Now, that's
- 4:43Speaker 1: a Saturday for George Lopez is here. He's going to
- 4:46Speaker 1: be the Fox Theater Saturday, May sixteenth.
- 4:48Speaker 2: And you were, I mean you were. You were fighting
- 4:51Speaker 2: when you.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Were only well, a couple of comedians, a couple of
- 4:53Speaker 1: top comedians back in the eighties and nineties when there
- 4:56Speaker 1: was there wasn't.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Room for everybody. Everybody nobody got a TV like you did.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah, you know. The the craziest thing is, you know,
- 5:04Speaker 3: I saw a picture of led Zeppelin, you know, walking
- 5:06Speaker 3: you know, down this hallway backstage, and I said, it
- 5:10Speaker 3: looks a little bit now because it's been so long, man,
- 5:12Speaker 3: like fifty years. Like those dudes walk the earth. You're like,
- 5:17Speaker 3: you should be dinosaurs or around and then and then
- 5:21Speaker 3: you see these guys and you're like, man, like I
- 5:23Speaker 3: was alive, I knew Richard Pryor, you know, I saw
- 5:26Speaker 3: Ridney danger Fields. I saw all these old dudes that
- 5:29Speaker 3: aren't around anymore. But when I was growing up, like,
- 5:31Speaker 3: those were the those were the guys that everybody tried
- 5:34Speaker 3: to be, you know, the guys were trying to look
- 5:36Speaker 3: at them.
- 5:36Speaker 2: But now you're one of those guys.
- 5:38Speaker 1: If you put in the context moving forward, you're now
- 5:41Speaker 1: one of those guys, one of those iconic comedians now
- 5:44Speaker 1: that are that are still around.
- 5:46Speaker 3: And then, you know, I think I think in all
- 5:49Speaker 3: the things that I've done, I think you know, in movies,
- 5:52Speaker 3: you they you're Robert Rodriguez. I did movies with Shark
- 5:56Speaker 3: Boy with him, and when every time I messed up,
- 5:58Speaker 3: he goes, come on here, let me show you. So
- 6:00Speaker 3: he showed me in the monitor where I messed up,
- 6:03Speaker 3: and he'd be like, all right, don't do that. And
- 6:04Speaker 3: I'd be like, oh, dude, it's like a like a dog.
- 6:07Speaker 6: Man for you to don't ever do this again.
- 6:10Speaker 3: And I was like, man, I gotta go a here.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I just want to show you real quickly, like oh,
- 6:14Speaker 3: my God, like so, so I think stand up is
- 6:17Speaker 3: the is the freest form of I think that's why
- 6:19Speaker 3: I think it's it's elevated comedians and there's a lot
- 6:23Speaker 3: of you know, there's a Netflix festival where people comedians
- 6:26Speaker 3: do the Hollywood Bowl. Now you know I did, Me
- 6:28Speaker 3: and Me and Santana did the Hollywood Bowl in two
- 6:31Speaker 3: in two thousand and nine, which does not even sound
- 6:34Speaker 3: like it's almost twenty years ago.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Oh wow, what hey? What do you think about comedy today? Now?
- 6:39Speaker 2: What do you think about it?
- 6:40Speaker 1: After all these years of being in it and being
- 6:44Speaker 1: you know, a pioneer to an extent of some of it.
- 6:46Speaker 2: What do you what do you think about comedy today?
- 6:48Speaker 3: You know, I wish one thing. I wish the times
- 6:51Speaker 3: were different. I wish there wasn't so much like division
- 6:55Speaker 3: and so much like people hating on each other man
- 6:59Speaker 3: and and all the things that people you know, get
- 7:02Speaker 3: boyed on the internet and you know, you know they're
- 7:05Speaker 3: not prepared for it. But I just think the time,
- 7:07Speaker 3: I just hope, I just wish the times were different.
- 7:09Speaker 3: We were living in a more in a happier time.
- 7:11Speaker 3: I mean, you do it all these years and then
- 7:13Speaker 3: when you want to kind of wrap it up. It's
- 7:16Speaker 3: crazier than it was and any other time in your career.
- 7:19Speaker 3: It's almost like you're almost forced to go out there.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, what so what do you so? What You're
- 7:25Speaker 1: back on tour? Are you back on tour now Georgia
- 7:27Speaker 1: and you're and what's next for You're still looking at
- 7:30Speaker 1: more shows?
- 7:30Speaker 2: You're still looking at more movies or what.
- 7:33Speaker 3: I don't know, you know, you know, I have podcasts,
- 7:35Speaker 3: just like a smaller one. So I think we're looking
- 7:37Speaker 3: at one legitimately like larger in scale, you know, with
- 7:41Speaker 3: an executive producer and and everything, because they become almost
- 7:47Speaker 3: there's shows now they're not even podcasts anymore, but they're
- 7:50Speaker 3: larger than shows. You know, they tour with podcasts and
- 7:53Speaker 3: stuff like that. So I think maybe maybe less road
- 7:56Speaker 3: and maybe if that thing works out, which everybody you
- 7:58Speaker 3: know does so many things, I would say, you know,
- 8:01Speaker 3: you get an opportunity that that might be a mixture
- 8:04Speaker 3: of both of them, because you know, I like to
- 8:06Speaker 3: be home a little bit more. I think make a
- 8:07Speaker 3: field in the Fox always been one of my favorite places.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But I mean, you know, as you're as you're older man,
- 8:12Speaker 3: you're like, yeah, go out here.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think the last time you were
- 8:16Speaker 1: at the Fox, I actually was walking in and you
- 8:19Speaker 1: were just standing on the sidewalk. You're just standing right
- 8:21Speaker 1: out front of the Fox just I don't know, he's
- 8:23Speaker 1: just hanging out.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I think I remember that, Imber.
- 8:26Speaker 2: What do you donny?
- 8:28Speaker 3: Because it's funny because you know, you never you never
- 8:31Speaker 3: think that anybody would recognize you, man. And and the beginning,
- 8:34Speaker 3: the beginning you I went to Chicago was really cool
- 8:36Speaker 3: to me. So I went over there for this lady,
- 8:38Speaker 3: the general manager because I called all the general managers
- 8:40Speaker 3: the summer before my show went on, because I heard
- 8:43Speaker 3: that Drew Carrey did it, and you know, it helped him.
- 8:46Speaker 3: You make a relationship with all the general men. And
- 8:47Speaker 3: I sat there and called all the general managers. So
- 8:49Speaker 3: when I was in Chicago, you know, I look up
- 8:51Speaker 3: and there's an Indian family, you know, from India, you know,
- 8:54Speaker 3: and this husband and a wife and a son and daughter.
- 8:57Speaker 3: And I see him on the movie escalator and then
- 8:59Speaker 3: I'm kind of looking down. It's early Sunday morning, and
- 9:03Speaker 3: I see their feet, you know, and I look up
- 9:05Speaker 3: and the and the husband says, my son said that
- 9:09Speaker 3: you're you are the man, And I said, I said,
- 9:12Speaker 3: I'm one of them. I'm one of them.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And he's like, no, no.
- 9:15Speaker 3: That that you have a television. I said, yeah, I said,
- 9:17Speaker 3: I do. I do. Because yeah, he saw it, like
- 9:20Speaker 3: I said, we took a picture of my family and
- 9:21Speaker 3: I was like, wow, man, I mean that's like that
- 9:24Speaker 3: was in the beginning. That was the beginning of the beginning.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you've always been very accessible though.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I think over the years you've always been very accessible
- 9:31Speaker 1: to the fans and been around we know.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I think the thing you know, I think and you
- 9:37Speaker 3: know this because you know, there's a personality for radio,
- 9:40Speaker 3: there's there's things you know, and and the fact that
- 9:42Speaker 3: everything I've done has my name. I think people think
- 9:46Speaker 3: that when I do something like that's who I am.
- 9:48Speaker 3: But it's not.
- 9:49Speaker 5: It's not you.
- 9:51Speaker 3: It's like an actor at oh man, that guy, that
- 9:53Speaker 3: guy's mean to his mom. It's like, no, no, no,
- 9:56Speaker 3: it's not it's not being.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Well that's incredible.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Well, George Loveez, I'm so glad you spent time with
- 10:01Speaker 1: us this morning. We can't wait to see you May sixteenth.
- 10:05Speaker 1: He's gonna be over with the Fox Theater. Make sure
- 10:06Speaker 1: you guys, get your tickets now. You don't want to
- 10:09Speaker 1: miss out. I'd ask, what's new, George, But I'm guessing
- 10:13Speaker 1: whatever you're gonna bring is gonna be funny no matter what.
- 10:15Speaker 3: So it's great. It's really great, man. I've been out
- 10:17Speaker 3: there working on it, you know what, actually considering maybe
- 10:19Speaker 3: even potentially looking at like a one man show. So
- 10:22Speaker 3: this is a little more personal, but it's still got
- 10:24Speaker 3: some it's still got some bang to it.
- 10:25Speaker 2: You know. That's great.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Thanks for spending time with us this morning, George. George
- 10:30Speaker 1: was he at the Fox Theater on the sixteenth.
- 10:32Speaker 2: That's a Saturday. Thanks George, again, I really appreciate appreciate it.
- 10:36Speaker 2: I got to tell you what happened last night.
- 10:38Speaker 1: So my one of my neighbors, his wife left him,
- 10:42Speaker 1: and I think she left him a little about a
- 10:44Speaker 1: year ago. She left him just decided she didn't want
- 10:46Speaker 1: to be married anymore and wanted to go out and
- 10:48Speaker 1: you know, do her whole thing, and so she left him.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I give her credit. I mean, she didn't I have to.
- 10:54Speaker 1: She didn't want to be married anymore, she wanted to
- 10:56Speaker 1: go out and you know, do what she wanted to do.
- 10:59Speaker 2: She didnt cheat on him.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I've always said that if you don't want to be
- 11:02Speaker 1: with somebody, you can just walk away. Uh, you don't
- 11:05Speaker 1: have to cheat on him and do that to him.
- 11:06Speaker 3: So he was.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Upset about it. He's been uh, he's been single for
- 11:09Speaker 2: a while. Good guy, got a great job.
- 11:12Speaker 1: You know, just out there living life now as a
- 11:14Speaker 1: single man. Well, so he calls me, uh, yesterday and
- 11:17Speaker 1: he says, hey, the Lakers are playing big, big basketball guy.
- 11:20Speaker 2: You know, he says, you want to go out and
- 11:22Speaker 2: watch the game with me?
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah, So we rolled down over to social house and
- 11:26Speaker 1: we uh, uh, you know, to watch the Laker game. Now,
- 11:29Speaker 1: I'm sitting at the bar. We're both sitting at the bar.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I'm sitting against the wall at the bar. He's sitting
- 11:36Speaker 1: next to me.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Uh. And then uh, there's a woman there.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Now, she's uh, she's got a Kobe br she got.
- 11:44Speaker 2: A Kobe jersey on.
- 11:45Speaker 1: She's uh, you know, still uh dressed like professionally, she's
- 11:49Speaker 1: got like work slacks on.
- 11:51Speaker 2: So we start talking to her.
- 11:52Speaker 1: You know, well I didn't start talking to her till
- 11:55Speaker 1: but she starts talking to my guy.
- 11:57Speaker 2: My neighbor, and they're talking basketball.
- 12:01Speaker 1: They're both basketball fans are both Laker fans are both
- 12:03Speaker 1: you know whatever.
- 12:04Speaker 2: So finally I.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Get involved in the conversation a little bit and I'm
- 12:07Speaker 1: talking to her, asking her what's up why she's sitting
- 12:09Speaker 1: here all alone?
- 12:10Speaker 2: She said, you know, after work.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Well, she tells me, and she's probably she's very good looking. No,
- 12:18Speaker 1: it's very hot, very hot ship, right, And I asked
- 12:21Speaker 1: her why she's sitting here all alone watching the game.
- 12:23Speaker 1: She says, well, I've been dating this guy for a
- 12:26Speaker 1: couple of months and I asked him.
- 12:28Speaker 2: To go to the game.
- 12:29Speaker 1: He said it was going to be too late. He
- 12:30Speaker 1: had to work in the morning, and the game was
- 12:33Speaker 1: kind of late. I think it ended after ten something
- 12:35Speaker 1: like that because it started late. And I'm like, okay,
- 12:40Speaker 1: so dude didn't want to go out with you because
- 12:42Speaker 1: it was a school night, I mean, what the hell?
- 12:44Speaker 2: And she just laughs about it.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Well, so, finally, about just about the I think the
- 12:52Speaker 1: fourth quarter was starting and my buddy goes to the
- 12:55Speaker 1: restroom and she's like, hey, you want to take off.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I'm like, take off. She's like, yeah, let me, I'll
- 13:03Speaker 1: get your boy home. Don't worry about it.
- 13:05Speaker 2: And I said.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Okay, And I was good with it, cause I got
- 13:10Speaker 1: to be up at three in the morning. I'm tired, man,
- 13:12Speaker 1: And you know I was gonna sit there and stay
- 13:14Speaker 1: stay and watch the.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Game with him. But you guys know what time dida
- 13:17Speaker 2: in ten, ten thirty something like that.
- 13:19Speaker 1: So I was ready to go. I was ready to
- 13:21Speaker 1: go home. And I'm like, yeah, absolutely, you got him, right,
- 13:25Speaker 1: And she's like, yeah, but don't say I don't say
- 13:27Speaker 1: anything when he gets back. So he comes back, I say,
- 13:29Speaker 1: you know what, boy, I'm gonna I'm gonna take off.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Bro, it's late. I got it. You know, it's about three.
- 13:35Speaker 1: You know I got to get up at three, and.
- 13:37Speaker 2: I go, uh.
- 13:39Speaker 1: But she said she'll get you home so I'll see
- 13:41Speaker 1: you later, right, So I roll out.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Now.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I don't know what happened after that. I, like I said,
- 13:47Speaker 1: I I left it. Whatever time it was, when the
- 13:50Speaker 1: fourth quarter, a little bit after the fourth quarter started.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I don't know what those two did after that. I
- 13:55Speaker 1: don't know if he I mean, obviously he's not gonna
- 13:58Speaker 1: call me.
- 13:58Speaker 2: When he gets home. I'm a slip. If he even
- 14:01Speaker 2: made it home, she might be there right now. I
- 14:03Speaker 2: have no idea.
- 14:05Speaker 1: But let me tell you this, she said, she had
- 14:09Speaker 1: been dating a guy for a couple of a couple
- 14:13Speaker 1: of months, right, so she's in the dating scene. Okay,
- 14:20Speaker 1: my man didn't want to it after two months into
- 14:24Speaker 1: this dating this woman and she was smoking hot. He
- 14:28Speaker 1: either doesn't care about her or doesn't care about her.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Because if you're dating somebody for two months and she
- 14:40Speaker 1: wants to go out and watch a game. Maybe he
- 14:42Speaker 1: doesn't like basketball, I don't know, but she doesn't want
- 14:46Speaker 1: she wants to go out and you might have to
- 14:47Speaker 1: stay out a little late on a school night and
- 14:51Speaker 1: you say no, what do you expect to happen if
- 14:55Speaker 1: you don't want to go out of your way? And
- 14:57Speaker 1: this is my point when I was thinking about later
- 15:00Speaker 1: later on last night. If you're not going to go
- 15:03Speaker 1: out of your way for her two months in, then
- 15:07Speaker 1: you're never going to go out of your way for
- 15:08Speaker 1: her ever. Because you gotta wake up early. I mean,
- 15:14Speaker 1: when you start dating somebody, that's when you stay up late,
- 15:17Speaker 1: having sex, having a good time, because that's when you
- 15:20Speaker 1: just don't care because you're trying to get in. So
- 15:23Speaker 1: he either didn't care or didn't care, because, like I said,
- 15:30Speaker 1: if you're not going to a nice sight again, because
- 15:33Speaker 1: it's worth repeating. If you're not going to go out
- 15:35Speaker 1: of your way for her, when you're just started dating her,
- 15:39Speaker 1: when it's supposed to be the most exciting and the freshest,
- 15:42Speaker 1: you're never going to go out away from her. So,
- 15:46Speaker 1: my boy, my neighbor might have took somebody's girl last night.
- 15:50Speaker 6: And I don't know.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I mean, dating is not really taking somebody's girl, But
- 15:54Speaker 1: who does that already?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Four two five, four seven to seven.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what happened and I don't know
- 16:00Speaker 1: what happened with him last night, but she asked me
- 16:02Speaker 1: to leave and I bounced. So last night my neighbor,
- 16:05Speaker 1: his wife left him. So he calls me, Oh, his
- 16:07Speaker 1: wife left him about a year ago. It's been a while,
- 16:09Speaker 1: not not an anytime soon. But he he asked me
- 16:13Speaker 1: to go watch the Laker game with him. So I
- 16:15Speaker 1: went out to uh, went out to the bar with him. Restaurant, bar, restaurant,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and I was watching the game and some girl was
- 16:23Speaker 1: some girl was there with the Laker cursy on by
- 16:25Speaker 1: herself watching the game. Well, we started talking to her.
- 16:28Speaker 1: She's kind of talking to him a little bit, and
- 16:31Speaker 1: then I started talking to her to find out what
- 16:33Speaker 1: the situation is because he's single. I didn't know if
- 16:36Speaker 1: she was single or not. She said she's been dating
- 16:38Speaker 1: to do for a couple of months and he didn't
- 16:40Speaker 1: want to go out. He didn't want to go out
- 16:41Speaker 1: with her. He's too late, said he had to get
- 16:43Speaker 1: up for work the next morning.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Now, mind you.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I get up at three am, right, and my boy,
- 16:47Speaker 1: who's single, guy neighbor who is you know, asked me
- 16:52Speaker 1: to go out. Of course I'm gonna go out with him. Man,
- 16:53Speaker 1: the guy's guy. I don't know if he's lonely or not.
- 16:58Speaker 1: So I thought it was funny because she asked me
- 17:01Speaker 1: to leave. She asked if I would take off because
- 17:05Speaker 1: she wanted to hang out with him, which I'm okay with.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I have no problem with that. So he goes to
- 17:09Speaker 1: the bathroom. She's like, hey, why don't you take off,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I'll take care of your friend, And I said okay.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And they're all adults. He's got to take care of nobody.
- 17:21Speaker 2: So he comes back.
- 17:21Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm out, bro, you can hang out with her.
- 17:25Speaker 1: You guys are they're both Laker fans, basketball fans, so
- 17:28Speaker 1: it wasn't a big deal, right, It's not like I
- 17:31Speaker 1: left him in the alley, you know, or at the
- 17:32Speaker 1: fire department. I just left him with some hot chick
- 17:36Speaker 1: at a bar watching the game he likes, so and
- 17:40Speaker 1: she had her Kobe Bryant jersey on and he had
- 17:42Speaker 1: his whatever jersey on, and so.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I rolled out.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I don't know what happened, but I thought it was
- 17:50Speaker 1: funny that some dude who she said she's been dating
- 17:54Speaker 1: for a couple of months didn't want to go out
- 17:58Speaker 1: because he had to be at working next day. Well,
- 18:01Speaker 1: come on, now, if he's not willing to do something
- 18:05Speaker 1: for you, if he's not willing to go to work
- 18:07Speaker 1: late for you when you first start dating, that's supposed
- 18:09Speaker 1: to be the best time, the happiest time, when you
- 18:12Speaker 1: care the most, that's not the guy. He's not the
- 18:14Speaker 1: one for you. Because if he's not willing to stay
- 18:17Speaker 1: out till what at ten thirty, I mean, come on,
- 18:20Speaker 1: I get up at three and I got home at ten,
- 18:23Speaker 1: so give me a break. But if he's not willing
- 18:27Speaker 1: to do that when you're supposed to be in this
- 18:29Speaker 1: honeymoon stage of a relationship, yeah, he's never going to
- 18:32Speaker 1: do it for you.
- 18:33Speaker 2: So he ain't the guy. I think she knows that now. Well,
- 18:36Speaker 2: I don't know what happened with him with my neighbor
- 18:38Speaker 2: and her, but i'll.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Find out today already four two, five, four or seven
- 18:41Speaker 1: to seven. Roman. It's not that he doesn't care about her.
- 18:44Speaker 1: The world just doesn't revolve around her. And obviously he
- 18:48Speaker 1: knows how easy she is, which is why he doesn't
- 18:51Speaker 1: jump every time she says jump.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Well, I don't know if she's easy or not.
- 18:59Speaker 1: But when you, for she said, they've been dating a
- 19:02Speaker 1: couple of months, if that's supposed to be the time
- 19:07Speaker 1: when it is the best part. You're getting to know
- 19:10Speaker 1: each other, you're staying out, you're having a lot of sacks,
- 19:12Speaker 1: you're doing you know. So I don't know that you're right.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I mean, if he's not willing to jump through some
- 19:20Speaker 1: hoops in the beginning of a relationship while you're dating,
- 19:25Speaker 1: you know, when things are new and supposedly the funnest
- 19:28Speaker 1: and supposedly the best and all of these things. Because
- 19:32Speaker 1: he's got to work the next day, and you're telling
- 19:35Speaker 1: me she's the problem.
- 19:38Speaker 2: And I'm gonna tell you right now, she was pretty
- 19:40Speaker 2: damn hot.
- 19:42Speaker 1: She might have been worth jumping jump. She might have
- 19:44Speaker 1: been worth jumping when she said, I don't know. I'll
- 19:46Speaker 1: ask my boy today when I see him, or my
- 19:48Speaker 1: neighbor today when I see him. But uh, yeah, I
- 19:52Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know what kind of idiot you
- 19:55Speaker 1: gotta be. I mean, I'm assuming that he's not going
- 19:58Speaker 1: to be around long because what kind of you got
- 20:00Speaker 1: to be? Oh, I can't go out tonight. Oh wait,
- 20:02Speaker 1: I can't go watch the game with you that you
- 20:04Speaker 1: like and have drinks and eat because I got to
- 20:07Speaker 1: be in bed early to.
- 20:09Speaker 2: What be up by seven six?
- 20:12Speaker 1: Oh my god, these dudes today, Man, you just clowns.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Last night the Lakers were playing, and a buddy of mine,
- 20:19Speaker 1: well he's a buddy, he's also my neighbor, and his
- 20:23Speaker 1: wife left him about a year ago, so you know,
- 20:26Speaker 1: he hasn't been dating much. He's been trying to, you know,
- 20:28Speaker 1: get his life back together from a relationship standpoint.
- 20:30Speaker 2: After she just uped and left, and he asked me
- 20:34Speaker 2: to go the game.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Let's go watch the game, not to the game, but
- 20:37Speaker 1: over to the restaurant to watch the game last night,
- 20:39Speaker 1: I said, yeah, I go with you. You know, poor guy,
- 20:42Speaker 1: I got no I mean I don't. He's probably got
- 20:43Speaker 1: other friends, but he asked me, so I said I'd
- 20:46Speaker 1: go with him.
- 20:47Speaker 2: And we're sitting there.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Well, this is a crazy part. So I'm sitting at
- 20:50Speaker 1: the end of the bar, next to the wall. He's
- 20:53Speaker 1: sitting there, and then another girl, a woman, is sitting
- 20:56Speaker 1: watching the game and she's got her Kobe jersey on.
- 20:59Speaker 2: He's got his is I.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Think he had a I don't know what jersey he
- 21:02Speaker 1: had on. Who know, Luca or Lebron. I don't know
- 21:04Speaker 1: what he had on.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Right, So they're kind of talking about the game.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Now I wasn't really involved in the conversation, but he's, uh,
- 21:14Speaker 1: they're talking about the game, and finally I got involved
- 21:17Speaker 1: in the conversation and just was like, hey, you know,
- 21:19Speaker 1: I was asking her if she was singing oh, blah
- 21:22Speaker 1: blah blah, you know, all the questions that he didn't
- 21:23Speaker 1: really want to ask her. And she said she'd been
- 21:27Speaker 1: dating a guy for a couple of months, but he
- 21:29Speaker 1: didn't want to come out with her. It was too early,
- 21:31Speaker 1: it was too late for him to be out.
- 21:34Speaker 2: And I was.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Thinking to myself, Okay, what kind of punk are you dating?
- 21:39Speaker 1: I mean, you don't want to I mean, she was
- 21:42Speaker 1: very attractive and she was hanging out watching the game,
- 21:48Speaker 1: having a good time. I mean, who's who's turning that
- 21:52Speaker 1: girl down? Because you got to go to work the
- 21:54Speaker 1: next day? And apparently he did, and so she was
- 22:00Speaker 1: she finally she did. It was kind of funny because
- 22:02Speaker 1: she asked me to leave. She goes, would you mind
- 22:05Speaker 1: cutting out so I can hang out with your guy?
- 22:07Speaker 1: And I was like, absolutely, I didn't care. I'd be
- 22:10Speaker 1: a I got to be up at three am and
- 22:12Speaker 1: it's almost ten.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I got I'm good, I'll see you tomorrow. I left,
- 22:16Speaker 2: and I.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Don't know what happened between them, but well i'll find
- 22:19Speaker 1: out today.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Hey, room, would you send me here? Hey?
- 22:22Speaker 1: Four? Two five four or seven to seven Romeo. Maybe
- 22:24Speaker 1: the guy she was dating already decided she wasn't worth keeping,
- 22:28Speaker 1: doesn't matter how beautiful she is. Maybe maybe that was
- 22:31Speaker 1: his way of showing her he was because maybe you're right.
- 22:37Speaker 1: But the bottom line is this, if you're in a
- 22:40Speaker 1: new relationship with somebody dating them and your guy does
- 22:46Speaker 1: not want to go out of her way or out
- 22:48Speaker 1: of his way for you, and he's not, he's going
- 22:51Speaker 1: out of his way, meaning let's go to the bar
- 22:54Speaker 1: the restaurant and have some drinks and watch the game
- 22:56Speaker 1: and have a good time, and I'll just won't get
- 22:59Speaker 1: as much sleep for work. That's what I mean by
- 23:02Speaker 1: going out of his way. If he wasn't gonna do
- 23:05Speaker 1: you at the moment, this moment, then he's not the one.
- 23:10Speaker 2: That means he'll never do anything for you. All right.
- 23:14Speaker 1: If your guy is not gonna put his best foot
- 23:16Speaker 1: forward while you're dating in the so called honeymoon phase
- 23:19Speaker 1: of your relationship, he is not the one, because that
- 23:23Speaker 1: means when you settle down, if you get married, he's
- 23:26Speaker 1: literally not gonna do anything for you. He's never gonna
- 23:29Speaker 1: go out of his way for you, all right? Four two, five,
- 23:32Speaker 1: four or seven to seven. Last night, Actually I'm a
- 23:37Speaker 1: little tired. Last night. One of my neighbors his wife
- 23:43Speaker 1: left him while back. He hasn't really gotten a new relationship.
- 23:46Speaker 1: He's still just I guess, I don't know, getting over
- 23:48Speaker 1: it whatever. He asked me to go watch the Laker
- 23:51Speaker 1: game with him. So I go out go over to
- 23:54Speaker 1: social house to check out the game with him, and
- 23:57Speaker 1: we're sitting there and there's a girl sitting next to
- 23:59Speaker 1: a woman sitting next to him with the jersey on.
- 24:02Speaker 1: She's into the game. They start, you know, chatting it
- 24:04Speaker 1: up a little bit, talking about talking about the game
- 24:08Speaker 1: and the Lakers. They're both Laker fans.
- 24:10Speaker 2: So we h. So finally we start.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I asked some questions, if she's single, blah blah blah.
- 24:15Speaker 2: She says, yeah, I was.
- 24:16Speaker 1: I've been dating this guy for a couple of months.
- 24:18Speaker 1: He didn't want to come tonight because it was too
- 24:21Speaker 1: late for him to be out.
- 24:22Speaker 2: He has to work in the morning.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I thought that's ridiculous, considering I get up at three
- 24:28Speaker 1: am every morning and I'm sitting at that bar watching
- 24:31Speaker 1: the game with my buddy.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Right, So what's his problem?
- 24:37Speaker 1: You got a hot chick you're dating, and you don't
- 24:40Speaker 1: You're not going to go out of your way at
- 24:43Speaker 1: this point in the relationship. And this is what obviously,
- 24:45Speaker 1: if you're not going out of your way, if he's
- 24:46Speaker 1: not going out of his way for you at this
- 24:48Speaker 1: point in the relationship, he never will. Now, maybe he
- 24:52Speaker 1: didn't want you, Maybe maybe he's got other girls on
- 24:54Speaker 1: the side. There could be a lot of options. But
- 24:56Speaker 1: if she's chatting up my boy and and she actually
- 25:00Speaker 1: asked me if I wouldn't mind leaving. She was very
- 25:02Speaker 1: nice about would you mind, she said, would you mind
- 25:04Speaker 1: taking off?
- 25:05Speaker 2: He would use the restroom.
- 25:06Speaker 1: She goes, hey, would you mind taking off so I
- 25:07Speaker 1: can hang out with your guy, you know, just one
- 25:09Speaker 1: on one. I said, yeah, absolutely, I'm out. So he
- 25:12Speaker 1: comes back on the restroom.
- 25:13Speaker 2: I bounce. I'm tired.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Anyways, I'm tired right now because I didn't get home
- 25:17Speaker 1: till late.
- 25:19Speaker 2: But man, what is wrong with these dudes? Already? Fourteen
- 25:25Speaker 2: five four were seven to seven?
- 25:27Speaker 3: Rome?
- 25:28Speaker 1: Whoever said whoever said that a minute ago about she's easy?
- 25:32Speaker 2: He's an idiot.
- 25:33Speaker 1: When me and my wife started dating, she could call
- 25:35Speaker 1: at ten or eleven at night, I'm jumping to get
- 25:38Speaker 1: over to her house, and I had to be at
- 25:40Speaker 1: work at five six in the morning. And I'm pretty
- 25:43Speaker 1: sure that was a woman who's who's in a I'm
- 25:48Speaker 1: pretty sure that was a woman who's in an unhealthy
- 25:51Speaker 1: relationship or not in a relationship.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Oh well, she wasn't in a relationship. I asked her.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I asked her what her status was, because my guys,
- 26:00Speaker 1: you know, my guy's single, you know, like I said,
- 26:02Speaker 1: his wife left him, he's got to move on. And
- 26:07Speaker 1: she said, she's just you know, dating a guy.
- 26:11Speaker 2: I asked all the questions for my guy.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I'm a good wing man, I asked her, and she's like, yeah,
- 26:16Speaker 1: she've been dating this guy a couple of months, seeing
- 26:18Speaker 1: this guy for a couple of months. But he didn't
- 26:19Speaker 1: want to go out last night because he was, uh,
- 26:22Speaker 1: it was too early. He had to get up too
- 26:23Speaker 1: early for work, so he might have got got I
- 26:28Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know what happened.
- 26:29Speaker 2: I haven't well.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I guess I can text my neighbor here in a
- 26:34Speaker 1: few minutes and find out what happened at the end
- 26:36Speaker 1: of the night with them. But so I don't know
- 26:39Speaker 1: how it all ended up. But you might be right
- 26:42Speaker 1: about unhealthy relationship. Like you said, you if your wife
- 26:46Speaker 1: called you your when you were dating her at ten
- 26:48Speaker 1: eleven o'clock at night, you went, you got up. That's
- 26:51Speaker 1: what I'm saying. You're willing to do that. If a
- 26:54Speaker 1: guy you're dating is not willing to do that in
- 26:57Speaker 1: the beginning of the relationship, he's never gonna to do it.
- 27:00Speaker 2: He's the wrong guy.
- 27:02Speaker 1: You know, when you're dating the guy and things are
- 27:06Speaker 1: things are happy, go lucky, and everybody's excited about the
- 27:09Speaker 1: newness and the freshness and what's going on. If that
- 27:12Speaker 1: food don't jump every time you ask him to, he
- 27:15Speaker 1: is not the one because that means he'll never do it.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I'm just saying, go.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Through some of your text messages right now already four two, five,
- 27:24Speaker 1: four seven seven. Hey, Rome, there is a chance the
- 27:28Speaker 1: other guy has hit it and a bunch of times
- 27:31Speaker 1: and doesn't care at this regardless if she's hot or not.
- 27:34Speaker 2: You might be right about that.
- 27:35Speaker 1: I'm not gonna disagree with you, and I have no
- 27:38Speaker 1: idea what this dude's issue was.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I'm just saying this.
- 27:45Speaker 1: If a guy you're dating is not going to jump
- 27:49Speaker 1: through hoops for you when you ask him to, then he.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Never is going to. And it works both ways.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I mean, how many of you women have jumped through
- 27:59Speaker 1: hoops for a dude because you're dating him. It's new,
- 28:02Speaker 1: it's fresh. You know, you don't know what's going to happen,
- 28:05Speaker 1: the anticipation of what it could be and all those things.
- 28:10Speaker 1: So you do things like go out late, get up
- 28:14Speaker 1: early for work, and go to work tired because you
- 28:17Speaker 1: were with you know, because it's a that's a new relationship. Now,
- 28:22Speaker 1: if you're gonna be men and women who are selfish
- 28:25Speaker 1: in a new relationship. That's a complete red flag, you know.
- 28:33Speaker 1: And it's not like she was asking this dude to
- 28:35Speaker 1: go out, I mean to go to a funeral at
- 28:38Speaker 1: eleven o'clock at night. She was asking him to go
- 28:41Speaker 1: out and watch the game and hang out have a
- 28:45Speaker 1: good time. So yeah, I get you, though, I mean,
- 28:49Speaker 1: you could be right about that.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I'm not gonna argue that.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Ay, rom I'm a single guy, and message me which
- 28:54Speaker 1: restaurant or bars at social house.
- 28:56Speaker 2: I don't have to message you.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Uh, And I'll be there tonight and get up early
- 29:00Speaker 1: for work. I'll sacrifice some sleep for someone someone on
- 29:05Speaker 1: one female time.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Well, there you go, a room.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Some people actually work hard, room, yo, and don't want
- 29:12Speaker 1: to drink at a bar on a Monday when he
- 29:15Speaker 1: has to work in the morning. All you do is
- 29:17Speaker 1: wake up at three and say dumb dumb stuff on
- 29:19Speaker 1: the radio or talk about raiders. Yeah, you're right, and
- 29:24Speaker 1: you're still listening. That's why I always win already four two, five, four,
- 29:29Speaker 1: seven to seven. Nobody said he had to get drunk.
- 29:33Speaker 1: I didn't get drunk last night. I just went because
- 29:36Speaker 1: my neighbor wanted somebody to go hang out with them.
- 29:38Speaker 3: You know.
- 29:41Speaker 2: But yeah, not everybody can be me. Not everybody can
- 29:44Speaker 2: be a man like me already.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Four two five, four, seven to seven. You're right, rome
- 29:49Speaker 1: I used to lose sleep just to be with my girl.
- 29:51Speaker 1: You got to make those sacrifices, exactly. You make those sacrifices.
- 29:55Speaker 1: But the point being, if you're not going to make
- 29:58Speaker 1: those sacrifices in the beginning of the relationship, then he
- 30:02Speaker 1: or she's never gonna make those sacrifices.
- 30:05Speaker 2: So are they really worth it? All right?
- 30:10Speaker 1: Eight four two five, four seven to seven. Eco Morning, Romeo,
- 30:13Speaker 1: it's Gil Rod here. Who is better looking the woman
- 30:16Speaker 1: that your neighbor met last night or his ex wife
- 30:20Speaker 1: who was better looking? All right? Does it matter the
- 30:24Speaker 1: ex wife left him? So, I mean, it's kind of
- 30:30Speaker 1: a weird question to ask you, Rod. I don't, Yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, he's a pretty good looking guy,
- 30:38Speaker 1: so I don't he doesn't.
- 30:40Speaker 2: A lot of good looking women look.
- 30:42Speaker 1: At him, so I don't know. I don't know. Strange
- 30:47Speaker 1: question though. All Right, let's talk a little bit about
- 30:50Speaker 1: the housey market. I do not know what's gonna happen.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Gas prices are up, the economy is I don't even
- 30:55Speaker 1: know what it's doing, but people buying houses. I see
- 30:57Speaker 1: him for sale, and I know you guys got to
- 30:59Speaker 1: live somewhere. So that's why we bring Marco in from
- 31:02Speaker 1: selling baker's Field.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Border Marko, Good morning Romeo. Let's see here.
- 31:07Speaker 1: I know houses are selling because I've seen them sold.
- 31:10Speaker 2: They are, So what's going on is? Uh, let's start
- 31:13Speaker 2: off with that.
- 31:14Speaker 1: What's before we tell people how they can buy a house,
- 31:16Speaker 1: especially for those of you that have never done it before.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Let's talk about what the market looks like in Bakersfield.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Still cheaper than the rest California.
- 31:23Speaker 7: Right, Still cheaper than the rest California. Houses are selling.
- 31:26Speaker 7: I listed at one point two million dollar property.
- 31:29Speaker 6: And we've got an offer on it.
- 31:32Speaker 7: Uh So, I mean I if a house that in
- 31:35Speaker 7: that price range is selling, that tells you how's they
- 31:38Speaker 7: are selling.
- 31:38Speaker 1: In Bakerfield, in Bakersfield, in Bakersfield. How's the inventory?
- 31:43Speaker 7: Well, the inventory is actually there's more inventory now available
- 31:46Speaker 7: for buyers, and so okay, the inventory is not a problem.
- 31:50Speaker 6: It's really a buyer speculation.
- 31:53Speaker 7: You know, they think, oh my goodness, you know gas prices, Uh,
- 31:57Speaker 7: what's the interest rates going to do?
- 31:58Speaker 6: Iran?
- 32:00Speaker 3: You know?
- 32:01Speaker 7: All this stuff, and it's like, listen, guys, we've been
- 32:03Speaker 7: coming on the show talking about real estate for years.
- 32:05Speaker 1: That's hold on, before you get any further than that.
- 32:08Speaker 1: You're talking about buyer speculation based on what people are
- 32:11Speaker 1: hearing throughout the industry. Is that what you mean by that?
- 32:14Speaker 1: Or just a bunch of dummies at the bar going
- 32:17Speaker 1: this is what's going to happen.
- 32:18Speaker 7: Well, no, I mean, you know, legitimate concerns like the
- 32:21Speaker 7: gas prices. I mean gas prices are worth seven eight bucks,
- 32:24Speaker 7: things like that. And then they don't know if, if
- 32:27Speaker 7: you know, if the war's going to affect the interest rates,
- 32:30Speaker 7: and they're still hoping for the threes and the fours
- 32:32Speaker 7: and I'm like, man like, let's just get over that.
- 32:34Speaker 7: You're never going to see emodies and fours again. This
- 32:37Speaker 7: is the new norm. This is what the interest rate is.
- 32:40Speaker 7: Can you afford to buy a house or not? That's
- 32:42Speaker 7: the bottom line. Okay, so can then buy a house?
- 32:46Speaker 2: Yeah? I want to say two things. One is.
- 32:50Speaker 1: The I just saw a story yesterday that said they anticipate.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Three hundred.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Three hundred markets. Housing is gonna plumb it. I don't
- 33:08Speaker 1: know the housing price is gonna plumb it like they didn't.
- 33:10Speaker 6: Oh wait, that may be true. I don't think that's
- 33:14Speaker 6: that's not in Bakersfield.
- 33:16Speaker 2: I don't think Bakersfield was on that list.
- 33:18Speaker 6: I mean, that's the thing.
- 33:19Speaker 7: We're talking to people, not just in California, but in Bakersfield, right,
- 33:23Speaker 7: So our audience is Bakersfield.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what we care about in Bakersfield. Are we
- 33:28Speaker 1: gonna be able to afford a house?
- 33:30Speaker 2: Correct? You know?
- 33:31Speaker 7: And I think that the prices in Bakersfield, even though
- 33:35Speaker 7: they have gone up because everything has to go up, right,
- 33:38Speaker 7: there's still very much affordable in comparison to the places.
- 33:41Speaker 2: So let me ask you this question. And somebody asked
- 33:44Speaker 2: a good point. Right here.
- 33:44Speaker 1: They were talking about whatever this new virus is, and
- 33:46Speaker 1: I don't know what it is, but whatever they're talking about,
- 33:49Speaker 1: there's always something trying to scare the world. Right, of course,
- 33:51Speaker 1: does that affect housing markets?
- 33:54Speaker 2: Did COVID affect housing markets? I don't think it did.
- 33:57Speaker 7: Did it it did? The immediate reaction was it was
- 34:02Speaker 7: like a freeze. Everybody stopped, right, Okay, I remember I
- 34:05Speaker 7: had a listing. It was my buddies listing, and he
- 34:09Speaker 7: we were kind of worried, right, because we were he
- 34:12Speaker 7: was in a transition. I was representing him, he was
- 34:15Speaker 7: buying a house, and then he was selling his house
- 34:17Speaker 7: and everything you got froze right, Well, that only took
- 34:20Speaker 7: about two or three months. After that, it was like
- 34:22Speaker 7: a boom. It affected it in a good way. Prices
- 34:25Speaker 7: went up. Okay, if you remember right after covid Man
- 34:28Speaker 7: prices started.
- 34:29Speaker 2: I don't remember any of that time. It's all a
- 34:30Speaker 2: blur to me, the U.
- 34:33Speaker 1: But in the way that, how does the housing market
- 34:38Speaker 1: work as compared like you can see a direct correlation
- 34:42Speaker 1: between Iran and gas prices, right people say, oh, the oil,
- 34:47Speaker 1: this the all that, even though they're still just ripping
- 34:49Speaker 1: us off.
- 34:49Speaker 2: By the way, those gas companies don't.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Need to rip us off like that, that that oil
- 34:52Speaker 1: was already paid for that they're selling us right now.
- 34:55Speaker 2: So don't let them.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Don't believe that that's what's going on. Got Venezuela are
- 35:00Speaker 1: just taking advantage of us.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Does the housing market do that in a sense where
- 35:06Speaker 1: they find something in in in uh some you know
- 35:11Speaker 1: disaster going on in the world to to try to
- 35:13Speaker 1: jack up prices or or or or.
- 35:16Speaker 6: Or prices, Yes, okay, yeah, absolutely, absolutely so the.
- 35:20Speaker 2: World, the world does affect the housing market. Yeah.
- 35:23Speaker 7: And if you look at the big big players, you know,
- 35:26Speaker 7: like black Rock and all these people that are buying
- 35:29Speaker 7: real estate, you're why are they buying real estate?
- 35:31Speaker 2: Oh? Gotcha?
- 35:32Speaker 6: You know what I mean? The people that we've never heard.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Of, We've never heard it. You're right, people we've never
- 35:38Speaker 2: heard You're absolutely right. You don't know Blackrock? Is you better?
- 35:42Speaker 2: You gotta go the deep web for that. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:44Speaker 2: all right?
- 35:45Speaker 6: Why are they.
- 35:48Speaker 1: It's like it's like the people who say, what the climate,
- 35:52Speaker 1: climate control, the oceans are rising, but yet all these
- 35:55Speaker 1: people are buying beachfront proper and you're like, well, you
- 35:58Speaker 1: just told me we're gonna be flooded, but these.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Cats are buying beachfront property.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Maybe we're getting bad bad infocs is all right, hold on,
- 36:05Speaker 1: We're going to talk a little bit with Marco selling
- 36:07Speaker 1: Bakersfield about the housing market. I want to talk about
- 36:10Speaker 1: just the basics of buying a house as well or
- 36:12Speaker 1: selling one for those.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Of you that have not done that in the past.
- 36:15Speaker 1: All right, So we got Marco here from selling Bakersfield. Marco,
- 36:18Speaker 1: whis your phone number six.
- 36:19Speaker 6: Six one four four four zero. One, seven to eight.
- 36:23Speaker 1: The reason I say that is because for those of
- 36:24Speaker 1: you out there buying a house, I've always said, this
- 36:27Speaker 1: is the scariest, biggest purchase you're ever gonna make, but
- 36:32Speaker 1: it's absolutely the most exciting thing you're ever gonna do.
- 36:35Speaker 1: When you walk into your own home that you just
- 36:37Speaker 1: person's purchased and you're going to start your life, it's awesome.
- 36:41Speaker 2: So where do we we? Where do we begin? Marco?
- 36:44Speaker 1: For those of us that have never bought a house before,
- 36:47Speaker 1: we don't know where to start, we.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Don't know who to call. We're a little nervous about it.
- 36:51Speaker 2: What do we do?
- 36:51Speaker 6: You pray, you ask.
- 36:54Speaker 2: God for direction, Ask God for direction.
- 36:58Speaker 7: You want to you want to talk to a realtor.
- 37:01Speaker 7: You want to talk to a realtor. I'll tell you why,
- 37:03Speaker 7: because a realtor, for example, and you can call anybody.
- 37:07Speaker 6: You don't have to call me.
- 37:08Speaker 7: But I've been doing this for twenty I don't know,
- 37:10Speaker 7: twenty two years in Bakersfield. Can you imagine how many
- 37:13Speaker 7: houses I've seen, how many houses I've actually walked through.
- 37:17Speaker 7: So it's like I've been buying a house for twenty
- 37:19Speaker 7: three years.
- 37:20Speaker 6: That's how much experience I bring to the table.
- 37:22Speaker 7: Can you imagine how many lenders I have verified, how
- 37:25Speaker 7: many lenders I have gone through until I finally found
- 37:29Speaker 7: the lenders.
- 37:30Speaker 6: That I work with because they're the best at.
- 37:32Speaker 2: What they do.
- 37:32Speaker 1: What I did want to point this out though, before
- 37:35Speaker 1: you move on, that is, there are two things that
- 37:37Speaker 1: can one thing that can really not get you your house,
- 37:42Speaker 1: and that is if the lender and the real estate
- 37:45Speaker 1: agent don't get along, and they can really screw up
- 37:49Speaker 1: your program and they won't care about it. I'm gonna
- 37:51Speaker 1: tell you right now. Lenders who don't get along with
- 37:53Speaker 1: realators have do not care about you, or vice versa.
- 37:58Speaker 1: So you got to get a lender and a real
- 38:00Speaker 1: estate agent that get along. Both want the same goal
- 38:03Speaker 1: and that's you in your house. Okay, now, they're both
- 38:04Speaker 1: going to make money because that's your job. But if
- 38:07Speaker 1: you get one lender who didn't get along with the
- 38:09Speaker 1: realator in high school and then all of a sudden
- 38:11Speaker 1: they're trying to work together and you're stuck in the
- 38:13Speaker 1: middle of that mess, your.
- 38:14Speaker 2: House will fall through. That's happened before exactly.
- 38:19Speaker 6: It becomes a battle of the.
- 38:21Speaker 7: Pride, and then you know what, anyway, you're right you're
- 38:25Speaker 7: right one hundred percent.
- 38:26Speaker 6: It's a team, it's a collaborative effort.
- 38:28Speaker 7: There's actually more components to that, but those are the
- 38:31Speaker 7: two main the realtor and the lender.
- 38:33Speaker 6: Then there's escrow, then there's title.
- 38:36Speaker 7: You got all these people working for one goal, and
- 38:39Speaker 7: that is to close this transaction so that the buyer
- 38:42Speaker 7: can step into their home, so that the seller can
- 38:44Speaker 7: you know, sell their home. And so we you know,
- 38:47Speaker 7: there's a lot of moving parts. So if you've got
- 38:50Speaker 7: this team of people that are working together, that have
- 38:53Speaker 7: been working together for many years and have done hundreds
- 38:56Speaker 7: of transactions together, it's going to go smooth.
- 38:59Speaker 2: And that's what you really want.
- 39:00Speaker 1: I remember when I got my first house, I used
- 39:04Speaker 1: to lender out of town, and so they were doing
- 39:06Speaker 1: email in each other, the.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Realatuor and the and it, and they didn't not like
- 39:11Speaker 2: each other.
- 39:11Speaker 1: It's just just even that little bit of communication gap
- 39:15Speaker 1: through emails can cause problems.
- 39:16Speaker 2: That I almost lost my home.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Because and there was nothing, no negative ill will or
- 39:20Speaker 1: anything like that. It was just you have to have
- 39:22Speaker 1: people that are always in constant contact because things can change,
- 39:25Speaker 1: you know, daily when it comes to.
- 39:28Speaker 7: That, and you shouldn't have to be like the mediator
- 39:30Speaker 7: between the realtor and the lender. You shouldn't things shouldn't
- 39:33Speaker 7: have to go through you. You should be like doing
- 39:35Speaker 7: the least possible, and they should be working for you.
- 39:39Speaker 1: So what would you suggest we call the realtor or
- 39:41Speaker 1: the lender first, because we do want to know how
- 39:43Speaker 1: much we can afford. We do want to know what
- 39:44Speaker 1: we can get. What would what would you suggest just
- 39:47Speaker 1: in your opinion?
- 39:48Speaker 7: Well, if somebody call me, well, the first thing I
- 39:49Speaker 7: do is I do a buyer consultation, so I kind
- 39:53Speaker 7: of talk to them about their needs. I get to
- 39:55Speaker 7: know them a little bit. Well, you know, do you
- 39:56Speaker 7: have kids, no kids? Do you have to be in
- 39:58Speaker 7: a certain area, school zones important for parents?
- 40:00Speaker 1: You know that?
- 40:01Speaker 7: And so we talk about those things. That's why I
- 40:03Speaker 7: think you talk to a realtor and then based on
- 40:05Speaker 7: that conversation, you know, we're going to put them in
- 40:08Speaker 7: touch with our preferred lender. Sure, but at the same time,
- 40:12Speaker 7: we're going to put them on a what's called a
- 40:16Speaker 7: house campaign where we're going to start emailing houses just
- 40:19Speaker 7: to match yeastings that match their criteria.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, exciting.
- 40:23Speaker 7: We make it exciting even before you get qualified, you're
- 40:25Speaker 7: starting to get houses and looking at the listings and
- 40:29Speaker 7: and so then the lender gets in touch with you.
- 40:31Speaker 7: And it's a process that we try to make it
- 40:33Speaker 7: an experience, a good experience.
- 40:34Speaker 2: How long does the process take.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Let's say everything's in line, I got the credit, I
- 40:40Speaker 1: got whatever money I need down, how long does that
- 40:42Speaker 1: process take of buying a home?
- 40:44Speaker 7: If everybody's working together smoothly, you know you should be
- 40:47Speaker 7: in your home from the moment you call that realtor,
- 40:50Speaker 7: so the moment you actually get your keys.
- 40:52Speaker 2: In your hands.
- 40:53Speaker 6: No less, No, I mean, no more than ninety days.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Ninety days, Yeah, I mean, it is a process. You
- 40:57Speaker 1: have to understand this. When you're buying a home. It's
- 41:00Speaker 1: not like it's the biggest purchase you're gonna make. And
- 41:03Speaker 1: it's not like, well, these guys always want to move.
- 41:06Speaker 1: But it's not like you're really just gonna resell in
- 41:09Speaker 1: ninety days or next year you're gonna go, well, let's
- 41:12Speaker 1: go buy a new home.
- 41:14Speaker 2: It doesn't work like that.
- 41:15Speaker 1: So you really want to make sure you're getting into
- 41:17Speaker 1: the right property and you're getting help with that because
- 41:20Speaker 1: there are things and we'll talk about this in a minute.
- 41:22Speaker 1: But there are things that you didn't even know to
- 41:24Speaker 1: ask when it comes to buying a home. Just if
- 41:27Speaker 1: you've never boughten one before, Marco, what's your selling baker Field?
- 41:30Speaker 2: What's the number?
- 41:31Speaker 6: Six six one four four four zero one seven eight?
- 41:34Speaker 2: All right, so we're.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Talking about the housing market in Bakersfield, Selling Bakersfield. Marco
- 41:39Speaker 1: was here four four four something something something something zero
- 41:42Speaker 1: one seven eight. All right, Marco, I want to help
- 41:48Speaker 1: some people out when it comes to buying houses real quick.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Some of the things that we walk into a house.
- 41:53Speaker 1: It looks beautiful. This is the house of our dreams
- 41:57Speaker 1: until we lived there for about six months and then
- 41:59Speaker 1: we realize it does have this, It didn't have that,
- 42:02Speaker 1: this could have been. We want to change this. We
- 42:05Speaker 1: want to change that when you go into a house.
- 42:08Speaker 1: What are things people should look for you, I know,
- 42:10Speaker 1: you point stuff out to people.
- 42:12Speaker 2: That they would never notice.
- 42:13Speaker 1: An outlet should be there, that's not there that you're
- 42:16Speaker 1: going to use every day if it was there. Things
- 42:18Speaker 1: like that are just little things, you know, things in
- 42:20Speaker 1: the corner, what's in the attic, stuff like that.
- 42:24Speaker 2: You know.
- 42:24Speaker 7: My main concerns are always the main components of a
- 42:28Speaker 7: house that would be really expensive for you to have
- 42:31Speaker 7: to do yourself. So for example, roof, for me, a
- 42:33Speaker 7: roof is important. Is it a new roof, is it
- 42:36Speaker 7: an old roof? Is it going to need a roof
- 42:37Speaker 7: in a couple of months? The HVAC system, if that's
- 42:43Speaker 7: you know, I'm not really too worried about the HVAC
- 42:45Speaker 7: because we always do warranty, right, So sure if you
- 42:48Speaker 7: have a warranty. I've actually had a client that the
- 42:51Speaker 7: HVAC went out and the warranty actually replaced the unit.
- 42:55Speaker 6: It was like eighty five hundred bucks. Oh wow, But
- 42:57Speaker 6: you know you still want to make sure you look
- 42:59Speaker 6: at that.
- 42:59Speaker 7: Also electrical, right the older homes, I mean when you
- 43:03Speaker 7: get to into like the seventies and older, they have
- 43:07Speaker 7: very old electrical and that's that could be a problem
- 43:11Speaker 7: because you might need to rewire the hole.
- 43:12Speaker 1: What about what about plumbing and stuff like that?
- 43:14Speaker 2: Was piping?
- 43:15Speaker 7: I was about to say that next. Piping is important.
- 43:18Speaker 7: Your waterlines are they copper?
- 43:20Speaker 2: Copper?
- 43:21Speaker 7: After like twenty or thirty years, man, they start getting pinholes.
- 43:24Speaker 7: I lived in a house that had copper piping, and
- 43:26Speaker 7: then leaks start happening in the roof you're like.
- 43:28Speaker 6: What is going on.
- 43:29Speaker 7: It's copper piping, so you know, now everybody's using pecks piping.
- 43:33Speaker 7: So anyway, those are the things that I look for.
- 43:35Speaker 7: I'm not really too concerned about the cosmetics because you
- 43:37Speaker 7: could do whatever you want to the house, but if
- 43:40Speaker 7: you've got to go and replumb a house, you're going
- 43:42Speaker 7: to spend fifteen thousand bucks.
- 43:43Speaker 6: Yeah, so you know, you.
- 43:45Speaker 7: Can add an outlet here and add an outlet there,
- 43:49Speaker 7: but to rewire the whole house, that's a big issure.
- 43:51Speaker 7: So we look at the major components and then you know,
- 43:53Speaker 7: there's things that are important. People like I do not
- 43:56Speaker 7: want a pool. Some people do not want pools. They
- 43:58Speaker 7: don't want the headache. Other people are like I have
- 44:01Speaker 7: to have.
- 44:01Speaker 2: A pool that's one hundred and three degrees today. Yeah yeah,
- 44:04Speaker 2: we need a pool.
- 44:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:06Speaker 7: Well yeah, and maybe just a lot of people. But
- 44:08Speaker 7: you'd be surprised. You know, there's some people that don't
- 44:10Speaker 7: have kids. Yeah, I get it, they're not they don't
- 44:12Speaker 7: want the electric headaches.
- 44:13Speaker 3: I get it.
- 44:14Speaker 2: I get it.
- 44:14Speaker 7: A pool comes with a you know, a high utility.
- 44:17Speaker 7: People don't realize that. So what about these new houses?
- 44:21Speaker 1: Do you help people buy new houses or just new
- 44:24Speaker 1: construction homes or just used homes.
- 44:26Speaker 7: Everything, everything, everything and anything. A lot, a vacant lot.
- 44:30Speaker 7: You want to buy a lot to build, You want
- 44:31Speaker 7: to buy a US home, you want to buy a
- 44:32Speaker 7: new house.
- 44:33Speaker 6: We can represent you.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Okay, So let me ask you this question, and I'd
- 44:36Speaker 1: be as honest as you can without getting in trouble.
- 44:39Speaker 1: You go to these new housing units, these new housing developments,
- 44:43Speaker 1: and they have an office. You walk right into the office.
- 44:46Speaker 1: You want to buy a house, You walk in the
- 44:48Speaker 1: office and they show you the spiel and you can
- 44:50Speaker 1: buy it and purchase it right there. I would prefer
- 44:54Speaker 1: having my own agent because I've bought in a newer
- 44:57Speaker 1: home one time and some stuff wasn't done properly, but
- 45:02Speaker 1: I didn't have an agent to deal it, because you
- 45:04Speaker 1: just bought it from the office, from the builder, from
- 45:08Speaker 1: the builder, from the basically the builder. So I would
- 45:10Speaker 1: I would always say, have an agent for you, al
- 45:13Speaker 1: though it may cost you a little bit more money
- 45:15Speaker 1: to have that agent, right.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Because that's what they're Oh, it doesn't no.
- 45:18Speaker 7: As a matter of fact, that office has a person
- 45:22Speaker 7: sitting in that office representing the builder. So they work
- 45:25Speaker 7: for the building. Whose interest do you think they have
- 45:28Speaker 7: in their hearts? Whose best interest do you think they
- 45:31Speaker 7: have in their heart?
- 45:31Speaker 3: Right?
- 45:32Speaker 2: Yeah, they're representing the builder.
- 45:33Speaker 7: So there's a lot of incentives when it comes to
- 45:36Speaker 7: new construction that people don't They just don't know.
- 45:38Speaker 6: Right.
- 45:39Speaker 7: As realtors, we know we can negotiate for you. We
- 45:41Speaker 7: can represent you and say, hey, mister builder, we want
- 45:45Speaker 7: X amount of dollars.
- 45:46Speaker 6: To help our buyer with closing costs. Sure, Hey, mister builder,
- 45:49Speaker 6: we want you to do this to this house. We
- 45:51Speaker 6: want you to modify this.
- 45:53Speaker 7: So there's a lot of things that if you have
- 45:54Speaker 7: your own realtor and you're not paying for it, we're
- 45:57Speaker 7: going to ask the builder to pay them.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Oh mission.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but you want to have somebody representing you, Yeah,
- 46:04Speaker 1: representing you?
- 46:05Speaker 6: I mean, think about it. If you go to court,
- 46:06Speaker 6: you're here.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Are you gonna use the.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Other parties representatives?
- 46:10Speaker 6: You want to bring your own?
- 46:11Speaker 3: You want to bring you all? Right?
- 46:12Speaker 1: Marcus here from Selling baker Bakersfield four four four zero
- 46:16Speaker 1: one seven eight. We're talking about the housing market right now.
- 46:19Speaker 1: That's why we bring Marco in, uh, Selling Bakersfield. Good morning, Markoll,
- 46:22Speaker 1: Good morning Romeo. Let's talk about buying or not buying selling.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I want to sell my house because I don't know.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Maybe my family's getting smaller, maybe my family is getting bigger.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Maybe we want to we're.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Making a little more money now, we want to move
- 46:37Speaker 1: to a better school district. Maybe we want to move
- 46:39Speaker 1: to a different area to live close to the parents
- 46:41Speaker 1: or family, or whatever the case may be.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Sure, what do we do. We'll just call you right
- 46:45Speaker 2: and you'll sell it for us tomorrow. We'll sell it
- 46:48Speaker 2: for you tomorrow.
- 46:50Speaker 6: We can we can list it for you tomorrow.
- 46:52Speaker 7: So you know, selling is a is an interesting process,
- 46:55Speaker 7: you know, because it involves people's a lot of people's
- 46:59Speaker 7: feelings in a right Sometimes in that house, you saw
- 47:02Speaker 7: your kids grow up, you saw you know, you got married.
- 47:05Speaker 7: This is your first house, whatever it may be. So
- 47:07Speaker 7: we've got to, you know, we have to handle it
- 47:09Speaker 7: with care, sure, because a lot of people think some unfortunately,
- 47:12Speaker 7: some people think their house is worth more than what.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Especially if you're the one that puts some work into right, Oh,
- 47:17Speaker 1: you redid the floors, or you did the whatever you
- 47:19Speaker 1: put that, you put your you know, sweat into it
- 47:22Speaker 1: changes how you feel about.
- 47:23Speaker 7: The house, which is totally understandable. I've done a lot
- 47:25Speaker 7: of work to my house and I'm I know how
- 47:27Speaker 7: hard it was.
- 47:28Speaker 1: But you sell that tomorrow if somebody offered it to Yes,
- 47:32Speaker 1: I would, except but I.
- 47:33Speaker 6: Understand where they're coming from, right. It's only because I'm
- 47:36Speaker 6: in the in the industry.
- 47:38Speaker 7: Yes, yeah, But if I wasn't, I understand. It's like,
- 47:40Speaker 7: wait a minute, you tell me, Yeah, you know. Unfortunately
- 47:44Speaker 7: you don't get dollar per dollar.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you know.
- 47:47Speaker 7: You don't build one hundred and fifty thousand dollars pool
- 47:49Speaker 7: in your backyard and landscape this and that and think
- 47:51Speaker 7: you're going to get one hundred and fifty.
- 47:52Speaker 6: Thousand dollars of value. Yeah, it's not gonna happen. So uh.
- 47:56Speaker 7: The first thing we have to do is a seller consultation.
- 47:59Speaker 7: The buyers consultation is a cellar consultation. We go, we
- 48:02Speaker 7: look at the house. We do what's called the CMA,
- 48:04Speaker 7: which is a comparative market analysis, and it's a little
- 48:08Speaker 7: report that shows us what's been selling in the area,
- 48:10Speaker 7: and there's some criteria.
- 48:11Speaker 6: We have to follow.
- 48:12Speaker 7: Anything within a quarter a mile within the last six
- 48:15Speaker 7: months that has actually sold, not listed, but sold.
- 48:18Speaker 1: What if there what one of the things that I've
- 48:21Speaker 1: always heard people say, is square foot dollar square foot,
- 48:25Speaker 1: a dollar amount per square foot, price per square foot? Okay,
- 48:28Speaker 1: what about when the houses in the neighborhood are a
- 48:32Speaker 1: little bit different.
- 48:33Speaker 2: What if there's no comparatible house to you?
- 48:35Speaker 1: What if what if every house is a single story
- 48:38Speaker 1: house in the neighborhood and one one house is a
- 48:40Speaker 1: two story What what about things like that or they're
- 48:43Speaker 1: just they're not exactly alike.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Is it still just square foot? Price per square foot?
- 48:50Speaker 7: It always comes down as price per square foot. What
- 48:52Speaker 7: happens is the appraiser would have to expand. It's the
- 48:56Speaker 7: location territory, right, So there's nothing really comparable within a
- 49:00Speaker 7: quarter mile.
- 49:01Speaker 6: Maybe go half a mile, maybe go a miles.
- 49:03Speaker 7: Sometimes in rural areas where it's like little ranches two
- 49:06Speaker 7: and a half acres, five acres ten, you have to go.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Five miles, gotcha?
- 49:10Speaker 6: So you know you there's.
- 49:11Speaker 7: Always something out there, yeah, that is comparable to yours.
- 49:15Speaker 1: So when people are out there, they're looking at and
- 49:17Speaker 1: they'll go, You'll I get the flyers in the mail.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Your house is in your neighborhood sold for X amount
- 49:22Speaker 1: of dollars per square foot. So the first thing everybody
- 49:24Speaker 1: does when they see that is they do the math
- 49:26Speaker 1: on their square footage.
- 49:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 49:27Speaker 1: That doesn't necessarily mean it's always equal, right.
- 49:31Speaker 6: Or does it.
- 49:32Speaker 7: It's a good it's a good benchmark. It's a good
- 49:36Speaker 7: place to start, especially if the flyers probably getting to
- 49:39Speaker 7: you because it's something around your neighborhood.
- 49:41Speaker 6: Yep, it's probably not across the you know, bakership.
- 49:45Speaker 7: So because of it's in your neighborhood, then yes, that's
- 49:48Speaker 7: a good benchmark. And then then you there's adjustments. Does
- 49:50Speaker 7: yours have a pool? Does that house have a pool?
- 49:53Speaker 7: You know, you adjust for those types of things. But
- 49:55Speaker 7: that's a good place to start. Price for square foot
- 49:57Speaker 7: you could do, Hey, this is selling for x amount
- 49:59Speaker 7: of square foot. Mine's somewhere around that.
- 50:02Speaker 1: But you have But if if you have two houses
- 50:05Speaker 1: next to each other, let's say they're the same, one's
- 50:08Speaker 1: got a pool, one doesn't.
- 50:09Speaker 2: One's gonna change the value.
- 50:11Speaker 1: What if one's nicer one if one's got a remodel kitchen,
- 50:13Speaker 1: the other one has a pool but an old kitchen.
- 50:15Speaker 6: Yeah, it kind of balances out.
- 50:17Speaker 7: Okay, those are the things that Yeah, you got a benchmark, right,
- 50:22Speaker 7: which is your price for square foot and then you
- 50:23Speaker 7: kind of adjust, Okay, right from there. So yeah, I
- 50:26Speaker 7: think a remodeled house is just as appealing to the
- 50:29Speaker 7: buyers as a house with a pool.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Okay, Okay.
- 50:32Speaker 1: A lot of these people don't remodel their houses in
- 50:34Speaker 1: Bakersfield though, So there's a lot of great houses out there,
- 50:37Speaker 1: amazing properties that still got those oak cabinets that they're
- 50:41Speaker 1: amazing cabinets, sturdy, lash you forever, yep.
- 50:44Speaker 2: But they just that oak with the gloss on them.
- 50:47Speaker 6: Well, don't get rid of them. Just paint them. They're
- 50:50Speaker 6: a good quality.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Oh, I totally agree with you. Hold on, Marco. Marcu's
- 50:56Speaker 1: here from selling Bakersfield. We're talking about the housing market
- 50:59Speaker 1: here in Bakersfield with Marco. He's from selling at Bakersfield.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Four four four zero one seven eight as the phone number.
- 51:06Speaker 1: So if you want to call him, you want to
- 51:08Speaker 1: get started, you want to find out any information about
- 51:10Speaker 1: buying or selling, you can ask him on the phone.
- 51:14Speaker 1: It's that simple to ask the questions and find out
- 51:18Speaker 1: what you need to do. I do want to ask
- 51:20Speaker 1: you this Mark. If somebody asked about uh, can you
- 51:23Speaker 1: ask Marco if cash out refinances will change my current
- 51:28Speaker 1: interest rate?
- 51:29Speaker 2: Yes, it will. They will, right, yep, because you're the
- 51:32Speaker 2: word says it all.
- 51:33Speaker 7: You re financing, So you're financing again with a different
- 51:36Speaker 7: bank and at the current rates, which could be a
- 51:39Speaker 7: good thing if you have a high rate.
- 51:40Speaker 6: Right, do you have a high rate?
- 51:42Speaker 7: And let's see the interest rates take a little dip
- 51:44Speaker 7: and you can save money on your monthly mortgaus and
- 51:46Speaker 7: it's good. But if you've got you know, three or
- 51:48Speaker 7: four percent, you probably don't want to reflect.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Probably, but you can take money out like a credit
- 51:52Speaker 1: card on your home.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Right yeah.
- 51:53Speaker 7: The best option for a person who has a good
- 51:55Speaker 7: interest rate and they want to cash out is a
- 51:57Speaker 7: helock okay, home equity line of credit.
- 52:02Speaker 1: And now I got to ask you this question since
- 52:04Speaker 1: you've been in the game for so long. Back in
- 52:06Speaker 1: the day, your home was always the best bet. If
- 52:11Speaker 1: you had a home, you had equity in a home.
- 52:14Speaker 1: It was always the best insurance policy to take money
- 52:17Speaker 1: out when you needed to do something that was important. Today,
- 52:23Speaker 1: after two thousand and eight, I don't know if the
- 52:26Speaker 1: things have changed. I know that was what twenty years
- 52:29Speaker 1: ago or you know, eighteen years ago, but the home
- 52:33Speaker 1: used to be the most stable purchase you can buy
- 52:37Speaker 1: forever until we saw what happened in two thousand and
- 52:40Speaker 1: eight when people went, wait a second, that was real.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Is it still the most stable purchase or was that
- 52:47Speaker 1: just a fluke or what? In your opinion, Mark, I,
- 52:50Speaker 1: just since you've been seeing it for so long.
- 52:52Speaker 7: In my opinion, real estate is the best investment anybody's
- 52:55Speaker 7: ever going to make, okay. And I would say, don't
- 52:57Speaker 7: use it as a as a like a right. Don't
- 53:01Speaker 7: pull money out to go buy a boat or something
- 53:02Speaker 7: like that. If my opinion is this, there's two reasons
- 53:06Speaker 7: why you should pull money out of your house, either
- 53:08Speaker 7: to put it back in the house in a form
- 53:10Speaker 7: of remodel or you know, something like that, or to
- 53:13Speaker 7: buy another house. Those are the best reasons to pull
- 53:16Speaker 7: money out of it. Other than that, don't touch your equity.
- 53:19Speaker 7: Let it grow, okay. And even if the market takes
- 53:21Speaker 7: a little correction, you know, and it's always going to
- 53:24Speaker 7: go up.
- 53:25Speaker 1: And that's what somebody that was the next thing I
- 53:27Speaker 1: was going to ask you, It is a homes are
- 53:29Speaker 1: you We watch all these shows now that have just
- 53:32Speaker 1: become so popular and flipping homes and I'm going to
- 53:35Speaker 1: make a one hundred thousand here, eighty thousand there, half
- 53:38Speaker 1: a million here because of pick your home show of flipping. Yeah,
- 53:43Speaker 1: that's an exception, right for the normal person that just
- 53:48Speaker 1: wants to buy a home. Your equity is going to
- 53:51Speaker 1: go up and down throughout the years, but it's a
- 53:53Speaker 1: long term investment.
- 53:54Speaker 2: On short term yeah, you.
- 53:55Speaker 7: Know, those things are real. I've done it. I've flipped
- 53:58Speaker 7: homes and made thousands of dollars. But it's not your
- 54:01Speaker 7: primary home. Don't ever look at your primary home as
- 54:04Speaker 7: a flip. Okay, your primary home is your primary home. Sure,
- 54:08Speaker 7: and then if you're going to buy a second home
- 54:09Speaker 7: to flip, that's when you you look at it as
- 54:12Speaker 7: a flip. And you know, but even then it's really difficult.
- 54:15Speaker 7: I've been doing this for twenty something years, and it's
- 54:18Speaker 7: hard for me to find a good flip.
- 54:21Speaker 2: All right, Marco, thanks for stopping by.
- 54:23Speaker 6: Are you for having me? Four four zero one seven eight?
- 54:27Speaker 2: All right? So it's a pleasure, all right, glad to
- 54:29Speaker 2: see you.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Well.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I have been waiting to talk to you guys about
- 54:32Speaker 1: this for a couple of weeks now. I wanted it
- 54:35Speaker 1: to cool off a little bit because some of my
- 54:37Speaker 1: friends that I grew up with still listen to the
- 54:40Speaker 1: show online, so I had to let it cool off
- 54:44Speaker 1: a little bit before.
- 54:45Speaker 2: I tell it.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Okay, a good friend of mine, and he is a
- 54:50Speaker 1: good friend of mine. His wife got some photos of
- 54:56Speaker 1: him messing with another woman, so he was cheating on
- 55:00Speaker 1: his wife.
- 55:02Speaker 2: The woman he.
- 55:03Speaker 1: Was messing around with, her husband, I guess, caught them
- 55:07Speaker 1: together and sent the photos that he took of them
- 55:12Speaker 1: together to his wife. Now she confronted him with this, right,
- 55:19Speaker 1: and this idiot he I shouldn't call him an idiot
- 55:27Speaker 1: because she believes him. But this idiot told his wife
- 55:31Speaker 1: that they were AI photos. He said they were doctored photos.
- 55:38Speaker 1: He's not messing around on her, and the guy who
- 55:42Speaker 1: sent them just has beef with him for another reason.
- 55:47Speaker 1: I didn't I didn't get what the other reason is.
- 55:50Speaker 2: But she believed him. Now, I this idiot. He got
- 56:00Speaker 2: away with it so far up to this point.
- 56:03Speaker 1: His wife believes that the photos of him with this
- 56:08Speaker 1: other women woman are AI artificial intelligence.
- 56:12Speaker 2: They're doctor They're not real. Now AI.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Is going to change the world in a way that
- 56:19Speaker 1: will never It's gonna be tough right to understand.
- 56:24Speaker 2: If something's real or not. We already see it. I
- 56:28Speaker 2: mean in social media posts.
- 56:30Speaker 1: We already see it online. They make movies AI movies
- 56:34Speaker 1: now that are tough to understand if they're real or not.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Right, I don't.
- 56:40Speaker 1: I don't really pay that close attention to it because it's.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Not to me. I don't. I don't know. To me,
- 56:47Speaker 2: I don't care. But can you tell if it's AI
- 56:53Speaker 2: or not?
- 56:54Speaker 3: Now?
- 56:54Speaker 1: I do pay attention to AI when it comes to
- 56:56Speaker 1: how it's going to change the world, you know, as
- 56:59Speaker 1: AI to take over you know, take over the planet
- 57:02Speaker 1: like a Terminator movie and then kill off all the
- 57:05Speaker 1: humans or is aar going to destroy uh, you know,
- 57:08Speaker 1: human life, which I think is stupid. I don't believe that.
- 57:12Speaker 1: But are you guys scared of AI? I mean, I
- 57:14Speaker 1: don't even know.
- 57:15Speaker 2: The conversation about AI is the one I wanted to have.
- 57:18Speaker 8: But I think it's just funny that my friend of
- 57:20Speaker 8: mine used AI as an excuse to get away with cheating,
- 57:26Speaker 8: and so far it's working for them.
- 57:30Speaker 2: What do you guys think about AI? What do you guys?
- 57:33Speaker 1: Do you think it's really going to be detrimental to society?
- 57:37Speaker 1: I mean, my buddy used it to get out of
- 57:39Speaker 1: a cheating scandal with his wife.
- 57:43Speaker 9: Yeah, you talking about AI? Yeah, bro, So I was
- 57:47Speaker 9: just talking about this with my buddies the other day.
- 57:49Speaker 9: I think it's making everybody incredibly lazy, like stupid lazy.
- 57:55Speaker 9: An example I have is like at work, a lot
- 57:58Speaker 9: of my coworkers they like to use AI to draft
- 58:01Speaker 9: their emails. I understand, like it's mundane, you know, having
- 58:07Speaker 9: to do our having to do our job gets a
- 58:09Speaker 9: little foreign. Yeah, But what it does is like whenever
- 58:13Speaker 9: we're in like a big meeting with HR or we're
- 58:16Speaker 9: having meeting with our union, Okay, their critical thinking is
- 58:20Speaker 9: just gone.
- 58:21Speaker 3: You know.
- 58:22Speaker 1: It's funny that you say that, because I was talking
- 58:25Speaker 1: to somebody and that's what they were saying. They were saying,
- 58:27Speaker 1: people are becoming stupider because of AI. The generations are
- 58:31Speaker 1: becoming dumber because AI does the.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Work for them.
- 58:35Speaker 1: And like you just said, no critical thinking, no problem
- 58:38Speaker 1: solving skills, they're losing all that.
- 58:42Speaker 2: But that's so Yeah. I agree with you all.
- 58:45Speaker 9: Right, that people haven't watched Terminator enough. Man, I grew up.
- 58:50Speaker 9: Derek Connor would be taking her head at us. She'd
- 58:53Speaker 9: be embarrassed. You guys need to watch those movies again.
- 58:58Speaker 2: All right man, thanks for coming.
- 59:03Speaker 1: You know, and I will say this, This is what
- 59:05Speaker 1: I want to say that along with that is, you know,
- 59:10Speaker 1: we talk about computers taking over and like he just said,
- 59:13Speaker 1: the Terminator, right, we watch movies where computers take over
- 59:20Speaker 1: the world and humans are fighting for survival. But and
- 59:27Speaker 1: it's gonna sound nutty and be a little bit might
- 59:29Speaker 1: be over your head a little bit, but the computers
- 59:31Speaker 1: have already taken us over. The iPhones, the cell phones
- 59:37Speaker 1: are so much like a drug that people actually lose
- 59:41Speaker 1: it if they can't get on their phones or they
- 59:44Speaker 1: can't get on social media. The computers have already brainwashed
- 59:48Speaker 1: the human race and have taken over, even though it's
- 59:51Speaker 1: not in the same way that you see in the movies.
- 59:55Speaker 1: It's not in the same way that you see where
- 59:57Speaker 1: the computers are just runn and everything and they got
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: their own little robot army and the and the and
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: the and the humans are you know, fighting for survival
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: in a in a military way like they do in
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: the Sarah Connors or the whatevers.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: But you're already been taken over.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I mean, you guys are already controlled by by a robot,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: by a by technology with your phones, and if you
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: think you're not, you're stupid because you are.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: You're just in denial.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: In the same way that a person who's hooked on
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: a drugs or alcohol would say, I'm not a drug here,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I'm not an alcoholic because you are. You're you're hooked
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: on your phones and there's it's the world that we
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: live in right now. So I would argue that you've
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: are The computers have already taken over. The problem is
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: are they going to wipe you out? Like in these
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Terminator movies?
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: Right? I don't know.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Are you afraid of AI? I don't know if you
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: should do or not, but it is making you dumber.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: AI is definitely making you dumber. Yeah, but I But
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: then again, you have to make the other argument for AI.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: If I can just look something up on how to
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: do it and then do it, why do I need
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: to solve the problem on my own? You know, if I,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: if I and I do this, I still do this.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: I have conversations about certain things like, oh, how many
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Super Bowls did you know Tom Brady win or whatever?
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: So a question like that, I don't go to AI
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: to look at the answer. If I don't know it,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I try to figure it out. But I'll be sitting
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: next to a friend who would just go right to
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I mean, I had that conversation this morning. Now, we
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: were talking about something for music.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: How old.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: Oh we were talking about how old Lisa Lisa was,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: and I was trying to do the math in my
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: head about last time, you know, blah blah blah.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: A guy next to me, he just looked it up. Oh,
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: she's this age, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: So I don't know necessarily what's uh. I guess I
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: can stand on both sides of the face, but I
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: do I do believe.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: I don't believe AI is going to take me over.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: I don't think it's going to take over the world,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: you know, in the way that you see in terminator.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Let's see here, you send me something about my buddy.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Good morning Rome.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: I really hope that ladies not listening to the radio,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: because now she gonna know her husband was cheating.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: No, she's not listening to my show. Hold on, let
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: me get this phone call and I'll explain it. Good morning,
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: How what's going on?
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Bro?
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: No, the only people that have to fear AI is
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: the smart people, the geeks in the nerds. Why is
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: that because I mean before they had they You know,
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: I got a friend that went to school four years
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: for computer tech. He can design stuff, and he's been
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: replaced by aih these people that thought they were smart.
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: I can just use AI and be just as smart
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: of them. Right, They've got the advantage now on all
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: these smart guys. Okay, I have nothing to fear. It's
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: made me smart. May need more advanced. So, but you
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: don't AI.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: But you don't think AI is gonna take over, take
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: control of the world and become some some crazy thing
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: that runs us, right.
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: I don't think so, only because there even though it
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: is smart technology, they don't have that gut, it's instinct.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: They don't know how to you know, what.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: About all the jobs. Their word's gonna take over all
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: the jobs, and nobody's gonna have.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: Nobody's gonna be able to.
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: I don't think so.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: It's gonna take over the smart and the nerds. The
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: nerds are going to be out of business. But us
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: hard workers have still changed, tired and still work, you know,
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: labor jobs. We're we're all right.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Well about about robot robot I eyes They got robots
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: now to do that stuff.
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: Yeah, but it's not gonna work. It's not gonna be
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: the same.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Okay, I'm just I'm just asking. I'm not scared of
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: AI either day. I'm not. It doesn't scare me at.
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: All, because I don't think AI could be as twenty
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: as you.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: Or you know, oh, not even close, not even there.
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: It is there, and they can't be as annoying as
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: greater days so.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: And it definitely can't be as dumb as louse. So
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: we are good.
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: We are three are guaranteed.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Anyway, Oh my god. So back to what I was.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Somebody said that he hopes the ladies not listed. What
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: happened was a friend of mine and he's in Atlanta.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: He lives in Atlanta with his wife.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: So he was cheating on his wife, and I believe
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: he was cheating.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: But anyway, the husband of the woman he was cheating
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: with took photos and sent them to my friend's wife
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: and he just told his wife it was AI.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Those are AI photos. They're not real.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Somebody say, this guy doesn't like me, he's trying to
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: get even with me for some reason, and.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: She believed them.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: So, but AI, A lot of people are afraid of
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: AI losing their jobs. They're afraid they're going to turn
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: into terminators and take over the world. And I doubt
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: And you guys got to stop listening to these idiots
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: who think AI because we could still just unplug it,
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: just like a computer. Just we're back to business, right,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: all right. So it's Romeo. I was telling you about
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: a buddy of mine. He got uh. I think he
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: got caught his wife. His wife believes him though, but
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: he was messing around with some lady. The lady's husband
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: caught him, caught, caught pictures of him, sent it to
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: his wife. My friend's wife, he just told her it
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: was Ai, and she believed him. She believed him. It's crazy,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: alrighty four two.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Five, four seven to seven A roam. You don't think
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: AI is going to take your job? Now? AI can
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: have my job.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: You know what it's like dealing with you fools all
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: the day, all this all this time. Hey, I could
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: have my job, but no, he has not taken my job.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: I mean, come on, now, you guys worried about AI
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: and Uh. I mean, there's a couple of different ways
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: to look at it.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: Are you worried about the.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Fact that it's gonna take your job. Are you worried
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: about the fact that it's going to take over the world.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Oh, it's smarter than so what, It's.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Still just a machine. Okay, you guys got to stop
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: watching Terminator and all these ridiculous movies that make it
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: seem if anything, if anything AI is going to do,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: it's already have done. And that's with your cell phones.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Your cell phones control you. And if you don't think
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: they do, you're just in denial. But your cell phones
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: control you. So technology is already winning.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: The one thing it is doing is it's making people stupider, dumber.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: And it did say that.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I saw a story the other day that said women
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: are the ones that are going to be affected the
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: most the effects of AI on working lives of women.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: It's women, I guess they're going to be affected the
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: most when it comes to AI. Women face higher workplace
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: risks when it comes to AI. So it's interesting.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: Hey, rom I've caught AI.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Lying numerous times, which makes me wonder how many times
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: have I believed something it told me that I didn't know. Well,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: the thing about AI you have to understand is it
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: depends on who programs it.
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: There are different AIS that will tell you different things
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: because of the beliefs of the human that programmed it.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: So that's what you think human error. You think AI
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: is gonna take over humans? No, no, no, no, no, no,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: you gotta be you can't be that stupid. It's not
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: gonna kill all the human beings. It's not gonna take
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: over the human race. It's just it's just gonna be
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: there in the same way. It's just gonna make you dumber,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: is what it's gonna do.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: Hey, what's that, Lou. I gotta disagree with you on
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: the AI stuff. Well, that's because you're a moron, and
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: no is because I got proof.
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: I was now le a couple of weeks ago and
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: I ordered a ride and it was one of those
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: cars that drives themselves.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: Oh well, weymo away moo, yeah.
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: Yeah, away morey AI.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: I get it, But it's still the technology.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Yeah, those things just blocked up a street in Texas
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: for like fifteen hours because all they all came to
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: the same spot.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: At the same time.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: There's they're not they're not perfected nowhere near enough to
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: take over the world, and I'm they probably won't.
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: Be Yeah, probably not the world, but the majority of
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: like big cities, maybe Bakersfielle not wasco definitely not Wascoe. Yeah,
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: and then also a I ordered some food on door
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: dash and it was like a little a little robot
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: came to the door.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I seen that clown.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: I was in Uh.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: I was in La a couple of weeks ago, and
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: I saw that thing going down the street and it
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: got stuck.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: So give me a break, you guys. You know what,
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: all right, all right, all right, right, all right.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: I mean, I think AI is going to do some things,
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: but it's not going to control the world like you
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: guys see in some sort of silly movie.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: You know, Hey, what I'm wrong.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: All I can say is that my job, can't my
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: co U, can't my coworkers job for sure, because AI
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: definitely isn't gonna kiss my boss's ass.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: AI will take over some jobs, but it's not going
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: to control the world. There are people that think the
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: end of the world is coming because of AI and
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: that there's robots. They're gonna it's gonna become what sentient?
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Is that? What it means gonna think for yourself. It's
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: gonna become its own No, it won't.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: You know, it's not. It's still just a machine, that's
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: all it is. Now.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: It may be able to scour the Internet faster, but
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: it's not finding anything that a human hasn't already programmed.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: That's the thing.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: It's not gonna become some sort of its own thing
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: and take over the world like you see in the movies.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: It's just it's not the what you need to What
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: you need to.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Be afraid of more than AI is the cell phones
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: and how all of you cannot get off your freaking phone.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: I would be more worried about that hot one in
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: the Rhythm of the Valley? Is Romeo? Help me Rome today?
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: What do you send me here?
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: It says, Hello, Rome, please, Hello, please, Rome please help.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: The guy I'm seeing for a year told me we
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: need to slow down.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: What does that mean? Is it over? Is he cheating?
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: What's going on? Well?
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: I don't know what's what? Uh, you're not really giving
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: me a whole lot of information? Or have you been
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: come clean? And what do you expect? What's been going on?
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Well? I don't know. I mean, is it you? Is
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: it him?
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: Is it could be all of those things.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: I mean, are you pushing for something more after a year?
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: Are you? Are you?
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: Are you being aggressively you know, trying to move forward
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: with what moving in together, getting married?
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Boyfriend girl? What are you trying to do? So is
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: it you? I don't know what moving too fast.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: Means, you know, So you're gonna have to give me
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: a little more information. If I was just going to guess, Okay,
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: and this is just because and this is just because
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: the cynical nature of Bakersfield, it's probably over and he
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: probably met somebody that he wants to see. He probably
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: met somebody else that he wants to give it a shot.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: He doesn't really want to be a you know, a
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: jackass and on you. He's probably that's I'm gonna guess
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: that that's probably what's going on, because I don't know
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: unless you were doing something that is he believes is
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: moving too fast for the relationship, and without knowing him
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: and without knowing you, I can't only answer the question
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: about he's probably met somebody else and he wants to
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: he wants to date them without feeling like he's cheating
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: on you. Okay, I'm just guessing that unless you want
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: to give me more information. Where's the relationship at today?
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: What's uh? If you live together you live separately? Have
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: you been pushing him to do something like moving together
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: or what?
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: What?
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: What? What's the relationship stat is today?
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: How's it?
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: How's it working already? Fourteen five, four or seven to seven?
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Throw me on top toy four point one? This whole conversation, says, Hey, Rome,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: help me out here. She says, the guy I'm seeing
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: for one year, over a year for a year told
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: me we need to slow down.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: What does that mean? Is it over? Is he cheating?
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: What's going on? So here?
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: She actually called me no, she didn't want to go
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: on the radio with me, but she did give me
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: a little more information, and she'd like to know what
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: you think about this now?
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: He had he's a forty year old man.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Okay, they've met each other's everybody important in their life
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: they met, Okay, like kids, family, moms, dads, whatever, Right,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: so they've intertwined their families with their relationship to some extent.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: At least they've met them. Now.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: She says she got a screenshot of him DM and
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: some woman liking some other girls pictures. DM and some
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: woman and it wasn't as explicit as you would have
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: thought it was, but it kind of looked like, uh,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: you know, he was seeing how far he can get
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: with this chick talk to her, and then so she
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: called him on it. He thought it was upsetting. They've
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: gotten an art up, they gotten a little you know,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: tiff about it, arguing about it whatever. Now she I
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: guess that he said he needed some time last a
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: couple of weeks, agot, but together, I guess he's kind
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: of leading her on.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: One way or the other.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: You know, he'll say, hey, I miss you one day
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: and then then five minutes later say we need to
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: slow things down. So oh, I forgot to ask her
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: if it didn't sound like he lived in the same town.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: It doesn't sound like they live here. They live in
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: the same town, but I forgot to ask her that.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: So what's going on when the guy tells you he
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: wants to slow down?
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: What's going on? Already? Four? Two, four, seven to seven?
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: Now, a year.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Is a year really a long time?
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: That's one of the things I think we really have
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: to think about.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: It's a year.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: How how long is a year in a relationship period?
- 1:14:56Speaker 6: You know?
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: Two three years, Okay, but how long is a year?
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: So after a year of ditting someone, if they tell
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: you want to slow down, what does that mean?
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: Already four for seven to seven? All right, So this
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: poor lady man, she.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: Sent me this talking about, Hey, help me out roam.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: This guy I'm seeing for a year told me we
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: need to slow down. What does he mean by that?
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Is it over? Is he cheating?
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: What's going on? She just don't really have any answers,
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: But I mean, what are what are the what are
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: the what?
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: What? What's going on?
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: Now?
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: Apparently they've met each other's family, so they've kind of
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: been putting in the work to see each other for
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: the year. But then he just kind of flip fip,
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Oh he lives up into Hatchby. She lives in bakers
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: So yeah, see that's probably one of the biggest problems.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: Yeah, how what's going on?
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Hey?
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: That means that he wants his options.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Open well, and I just found out that he lives
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: in the Hatcherby, she lives in Bakersfield, So yeah, I
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: think there's options that might be opening up for him.
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, you know he's probably like, well, you know,
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: I can't get nothing over there.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, and but once he's able to get something
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: over there, he won't want to come here. I think.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: I think it's one of those things.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think it's gonna be rough.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: It's gonna be rough going.
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: More. There's more fish out there in the scene.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he might be right about that, now
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: that I know, I know, to hatch Being Bakersfield isn't
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: that far away, but it's pretty far away at midnight
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: when you want to hook up, you know. I mean,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: I just I don't think I can discount the fact.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I don't think I can discount the fact like that
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: guy just said he ain't got no options in to
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: Hachby right now, so he's he's.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: Got to go to Bakersfield. But I think if.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: Options up open up into Hatchby, I think that changes everything.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: I just, yeah, hey.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: Room, What it means is she's too clinging or over possessive,
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: or just doing it for him in a in the bedroom. Maybe,
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: I mean, maybe she comes across like that. But I
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: talked to her.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: She called me.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: She didn't want to go on the radio, but I
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: talked to her. She didn't, She didn't seem too clinging.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: She didn't seem too possessive. She just seemed like she
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: was paying attention, like he had some DMS that he
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: was talking to some women. You know, he likes some
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: women's pictures on social media, so I mean she approached
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: him about that. But any when any woman who's in
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: a relationship for over a year approach a guy about
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: what he's doing on social media already four two, five, four,
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: seven to seven. I think it's the city. The distance
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: is what I think I liked. I think that last guy's.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: Right all right here.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Oh back to the to the lady who said, hey, Ron,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: please help me. The guy I'm seeing for over a
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: year told me we need to slow down.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: What does that mean? Is it over? Is he cheating?
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: And we found out that they live in ever Ten,
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: lives into Hatchbee, she lives here.
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: They've had little issues.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: He's been dming other women or dmned another woman, and uh,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: you know, I think I think what it's coming down
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: to is really that they live in different towns. He
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: doesn't have anybody up into Hatchbee, so he's in Bakersfield.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: He's got her, and he's kind of stringing her along
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: till he finds somebody. But they've been they met each
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: other's families, they've been together over a year.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: I mean, do you slow down after a year? What
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: does that mean? Already? Four two five, four seven to seven?
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: A roam? The writing's on the wall. She needs to
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: move on from this relationship. This guy has his eyes
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: on someone new and only misses her when he wants
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: to get some have a good day rome. That sounds plausible,
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: sounds like that could be the deal, right already four
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: two five, four seven to seven?
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: What do you get? What do you think? What happens
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: when somebody.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Tells you they want to slow down after a year
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: of dating? You've met everybody's family members, you I mean,
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: I mean, what.
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: Does that mean? So this girl called Lady called.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: She was talking about how she met, She knew this guy,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: she's been seeing him for a year.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: He says they need to slow down. What does that mean?
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Is it over? Is he cheating? What's going on?
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: I now, just a little insight A couple of things.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: She told me.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: They live in separate cities, attached me and Biggersfield. He
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: has life some women on social media. He may even
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: texted one of them where she got a screen shot
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: from a friend of hers who saw it.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: She called him on it, wanted to know what was
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: going on.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: She actually sent me a screenshot says, miss you lott
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: send me a picture, Uh, the gym if you want
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: going to bed?
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: I'm so sleepy.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Now, have a good workout, handsome man, my crush whatever.
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: He says, Okay, we'll slow down a little bit.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: What Yeah, I don't know that one. That's a weird
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: text chain right there for whatever that is? So anyway,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: they met each other's families. A year is a while
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: to be dating somebody. Year is or is a year
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: a while to be dating somebody? Is a Do you
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: have enough investment in a year of dating someone to
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: you know, if you've met the families, if you've hung
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: out enough, if you've gone everywhere together, gone places together?
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: I mean, is a year enough of investment to where
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: when you tell somebody we're moving too quickly, we need
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: to slow down.
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: What's going on there?
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: She wants to know we four four seven to seven, Romeo,
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: you need to tell her to move on. That's too
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: many red flags. That's an immediate red flag. If he
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: says slow down after a year, you need to tell
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: her to move on. I mean, it's.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: Okay, sounds more me more and more like.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: He's he wants somebody closer to where he lives, but
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: he can't find anybody, so he's kind of stringing her along.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: Right, Am I right or wrong about the morning
- 1:21:09Speaker 9: Every morning Morning on ninety four point one
