- 0:36Speaker 1: episodes have been brought over. They're here ready for you.
- 0:40Speaker 1: But if you're brand new, doost would love for you
- 0:42Speaker 1: to click that plus button follow us. That's what they
- 0:45Speaker 1: used to call subscribe for us old folks, And you
- 0:49Speaker 1: can leave a review even if you have already left
- 0:51Speaker 1: one on our previous long story short feed. We'd love
- 0:54Speaker 1: reviews here to give Girls Gone Hallmark a little bit
- 0:56Speaker 1: of a boost. Question. Yeah, those are really nice. Any
- 1:00Speaker 1: previous episodes. Yeah, God, we've watched a lot of movies. Yeah.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Wow's what started as a teeny tiny bonus episode in
- 1:07Speaker 1: twenty twenty where we are now. Look at this when
- 1:11Speaker 1: he's excited about Christmas movie. I watched all four over
- 1:15Speaker 1: the weekend. Yeah, believe it. I'm really pumped too. Normally
- 1:20Speaker 1: I'm like I watched the ones we're gonna watch, and
- 1:22Speaker 1: then I kind of feel like, don't creep on my
- 1:26Speaker 1: TV watching Hallmark. Beyond that, oh, it's hard to fit
- 1:30Speaker 1: like in four additional things like four two hours. I
- 1:35Speaker 1: know it's not two hours, but two hour movies on
- 1:37Speaker 1: top of your regular schedule. I'm like, I got Love
- 1:39Speaker 1: Is Blind new episodes too, Mutch, but I really wanted
- 1:42Speaker 1: to sit down and watch a movie that we weren't
- 1:44Speaker 1: even recording last night, so I know. And the other
- 1:47Speaker 1: thing too, is that I've been in our Girls Gone
- 1:50Speaker 1: Homework Facebook group and people there are talking about like, well,
- 1:53Speaker 1: how great this one was and how great this and
- 1:55Speaker 1: I was like, I go watch that really hyped me up.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I will say, Wendy has an exciting and oh yeah,
- 2:01Speaker 1: we've relaunched our Girls Gone Hallmark Instagram. I noticed that
- 2:06Speaker 1: you went in and archived all the old posts. I
- 2:09Speaker 1: did because I was like, oh, I this has a new,
- 2:12Speaker 1: fresh home, so let's give Instagram a new fresh home.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I like it. And I'm trying to do more stories
- 2:17Speaker 1: over there and more interactive things and breaking news and
- 2:20Speaker 1: maybe someday I'll put my face on yeah, but it's
- 2:24Speaker 1: I'm usually like doing this stuff like you know midday
- 2:28Speaker 1: where I'm I haven't taken a shower yet or some
- 2:31Speaker 1: you know I do. Well. I want to say, you're
- 2:33Speaker 1: killing it over there. I love it every time I
- 2:35Speaker 1: open up my Instagram and see that little blue circle
- 2:37Speaker 1: around our girl's gone homework and there's new content over there.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And she announced something new and exciting coming in December
- 2:44Speaker 1: in our Facebook group. I was like, that's brand new information?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Is I did? I'll tell you guys here. I want
- 2:49Speaker 1: you everybody to follow us over there because it's only
- 2:52Speaker 1: happening on Instagram. We're going to do like a bracket
- 2:55Speaker 1: tournament situation with all of the twenty twenty two movies,
- 3:00Speaker 1: So as soon as they end December nineteenth, we're gonna
- 3:03Speaker 1: launch it. You know, I've been my week's a little off.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I'm just busy this week. And when you announced the date,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I was like, that's ah, how did she come up
- 3:12Speaker 1: with that? Now I understand the movies will be over there.
- 3:15Speaker 1: He's in that the weekend right before, and I think
- 3:18Speaker 1: got you. I've been racking my brain trying to figure
- 3:20Speaker 1: this out. I think what we'll do is like a
- 3:22Speaker 1: blind draw of all the movies and then that's how
- 3:25Speaker 1: we'll fill him and then we'll do it in the
- 3:30Speaker 1: stories where like people have to pick like one the
- 3:32Speaker 1: other and I just whittle it down to like, what
- 3:35Speaker 1: was that bumped? I'm excited about it. As we mentioned,
- 3:38Speaker 1: we do have a Girl's Gone Hallmark Facebook group. It
- 3:40Speaker 1: is called Girl's Gone Hallmark. You can find it in
- 3:43Speaker 1: Facebook by searching, or Wendy always leaves a note in
- 3:46Speaker 1: our show notes along with everywhere else you can find
- 3:48Speaker 1: us throughout the internet. We would love to have you
- 3:51Speaker 1: join our group. It is a fun group. And now
- 3:53Speaker 1: that the super Bowl of Hallmark has begun, it's really
- 3:58Speaker 1: getting going in there. M let's do a little Hallmark
- 4:03Speaker 1: Channel News and Notes. Okay, Wewnny and I had some
- 4:06Speaker 1: serious fomo this past week totally because Hallmark is something
- 4:11Speaker 1: really great. I'm actually really happy for them. They screened
- 4:16Speaker 1: one of the Countdown of Christmas Movies, a Christmas Spectacular
- 4:19Speaker 1: at Radio City Music Hall, and had this beautiful premiere event.
- 4:24Speaker 1: So many of the Hallmark stars were there in New
- 4:27Speaker 1: York at Radio City Rockefeller Center. I just I would
- 4:33Speaker 1: have loved to be there, not that there's any world
- 4:36Speaker 1: in which we could have been there. I would have
- 4:38Speaker 1: just loved to be there. It would have just been fun.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I think I saw some like people from the podcast world.
- 4:45Speaker 1: They're cover needed or they it might just be like
- 4:49Speaker 1: fan accounts. I don't know, but they weren't like they
- 4:51Speaker 1: didn't work for Homemark, right, So I'm like, please do
- 4:56Speaker 1: this again next year. I would love it if we
- 4:58Speaker 1: could somehow get on some body's radar because I want
- 5:01Speaker 1: to go cover it. Look, I'm gonna be really honest
- 5:03Speaker 1: with the listeners of Girls on Hallmark here. Girls Got
- 5:06Speaker 1: Homework started as a bonus episode. We never considered ourselves
- 5:09Speaker 1: a Hallmark podcast, but then we got to the point
- 5:12Speaker 1: where we had created ninety episodes. We have been doing this.
- 5:16Speaker 1: We're committed to doing it, so we made it its
- 5:18Speaker 1: own thing. We want to be a Hallmark podcast. We
- 5:21Speaker 1: want you to think of us when you think of
- 5:22Speaker 1: Homewark podcasts, and so that's why your engagement means so
- 5:25Speaker 1: much to us. That's why we love it when you
- 5:28Speaker 1: hop into our Facebook group and when you share us
- 5:30Speaker 1: with your friends. We're coming for you. Yeah, that was
- 5:34Speaker 1: a beautiful event. Like they were on that like city
- 5:39Speaker 1: bus thing and the double deckers dressed up and I
- 5:44Speaker 1: saw an I think you laughed at me, but Paul
- 5:47Speaker 1: Campbell in a tuxedo, I was wowie zouy. I wasn't laughing.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I was enjoying the moment. I thought. I gave some
- 5:56Speaker 1: fire emojis to that post. Yeah, no, I would not laugh.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I think Paul Campbell is definitely a wowie zowie. And
- 6:02Speaker 1: I think, look, Hallmark works really hard. There's a lot
- 6:04Speaker 1: of jokes about, you know, Hallmark movies. We have a
- 6:07Speaker 1: Hallmark movie bingo specifically because there is some predictability involved
- 6:10Speaker 1: in these movies. But we don't do these because the
- 6:14Speaker 1: movies aren't enjoyable. There's a lot of hard work that
- 6:17Speaker 1: goes into these movies, and I think that was a
- 6:19Speaker 1: really nice moment for them to be celebrated in such
- 6:22Speaker 1: a fun way. Yeah, totally. One last bit of Hallmark
- 6:25Speaker 1: Channel news and notes, we have a new exclusive signing
- 6:31Speaker 1: with the Hallmark Channel that is Aaron Cahill. Why do
- 6:33Speaker 1: you think that came so late? Oh? I have couldn't
- 6:36Speaker 1: begin to speculate that. Maybe you could late in terms
- 6:41Speaker 1: of what I just feel like there was a slew
- 6:43Speaker 1: of them at like in the summertime, so I thought, oh,
- 6:46Speaker 1: they're gonna they're trying to like lock these people down
- 6:49Speaker 1: for Christmas? Right? Is she in any Christmas movies this year?
- 6:55Speaker 1: I can't recall offhand right now. I would imagine they're
- 6:58Speaker 1: just constantly signing these on a rolling basis. So I'm
- 7:01Speaker 1: happy for it me too. What's our synopsis for We
- 7:05Speaker 1: Wish You a Married Christmas? Are you ready? A couple
- 7:09Speaker 1: goes to a quiet town to reconnect at Christmas on
- 7:12Speaker 1: the advice of their marriage coach, starring Marisola Nichols and
- 7:18Speaker 1: Christopher Poloha. Polaha, Dan, I try every time I've had
- 7:23Speaker 1: so much anxiety over the last like several days, save
- 7:27Speaker 1: for me again. Polaha, Polaha. But it's p o la
- 7:33Speaker 1: yeah laha. I fact, that's what I said. You said Paloha.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Oh my god, guys, I'm gonna have to write a
- 7:40Speaker 1: hooked on phonics note right here on my computer. I'm
- 7:43Speaker 1: just going home, Chris from here on al let's do it, Okay.
- 7:47Speaker 1: This movie was filmed in Manitoba, primarily in Winnipeg. Gotta
- 7:51Speaker 1: tell you my Canadian geography not great. Wow, that's somewhere
- 7:58Speaker 1: that's not Vancouver. Yeah. Our two stars, of course, we
- 8:01Speaker 1: have Marycel Nichols, who I think is best known as
- 8:04Speaker 1: Hermione Lodge from Riverdale. I just learned that while doing
- 8:08Speaker 1: the research for this, and we mentioned it in our
- 8:11Speaker 1: preview episode. So once again, you don't listen to me,
- 8:16Speaker 1: you guys. You have to listen to our main podcast,
- 8:18Speaker 1: Long Story Short with Megan and Wendy if you want
- 8:20Speaker 1: to hear our ongoing bickering about how Wendy doesn't listen
- 8:22Speaker 1: to Megan. I really liked her, did you. Oh yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 1: we'll get to it. I enjoyed her too. You know,
- 8:31Speaker 1: this is not our first Christopher Palaha movie, but this
- 8:34Speaker 1: is the first time I realized he had roles in
- 8:37Speaker 1: both Wonder Woman nineteen eighty four and Jurassic World Dominion. No,
- 8:41Speaker 1: you saw both those movies. I'm sure I did. Wonder
- 8:43Speaker 1: Woman nineteen eighty four was not a good movie, and
- 8:46Speaker 1: if Jurassic World Dominion is the most recent, Jurassic World
- 8:49Speaker 1: also not good. But Christopher Palaha does not bear the
- 8:54Speaker 1: weight of those movies on his shoulders. No. This movie
- 8:57Speaker 1: was originally titled a Christmas disconne Oh. I like that.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I like the other one too, I like both. Christopher
- 9:05Speaker 1: Pulaha also has a recent book release. It's called where
- 9:09Speaker 1: the Sun Rises. It is the second in a from
- 9:12Speaker 1: Kona with Love series that he co authors. You can
- 9:14Speaker 1: get it on Amazon. I know. I'll leave a link
- 9:16Speaker 1: on our show notes if you always want to buy it.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I wonder if it's on audible. Oh would it be
- 9:20Speaker 1: great if you read like the male part, if there's
- 9:23Speaker 1: a male part in this movie? So on a heavy
- 9:26Speaker 1: dot com I read this. It was really I thought
- 9:28Speaker 1: it was really funny. Susie Keck, the owner of Crazy
- 9:33Speaker 1: Ladies Cafeteria in Manitoba, Canada, reported that production created a
- 9:39Speaker 1: beautiful set, including huge ornaments, a Christmas market and fake
- 9:42Speaker 1: snow I hadn't put on our Instagram. I was like,
- 9:45Speaker 1: I need to go to a Christmas market this year.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I want to go to a Christmas market. Yeah, we
- 9:51Speaker 1: might have something happening, yes, but don't you wish there
- 9:55Speaker 1: was one in our local city? Oh? Sure, I feel
- 9:59Speaker 1: like everybody could you one? Like? Why don't they do them?
- 10:02Speaker 1: I mean I think they Yeah, I think there are
- 10:06Speaker 1: where I don't know mind to be one. I want
- 10:09Speaker 1: to go to one. I want to walk around with
- 10:11Speaker 1: a hot chocolate or a hotsider and look at gifts
- 10:16Speaker 1: that I could buy people m don't you want to
- 10:18Speaker 1: do Yeah, you know I do. I think like it
- 10:20Speaker 1: happens like our church will do one, you know, stuff
- 10:23Speaker 1: like that. I don't care. I still want to go
- 10:25Speaker 1: to one. Okay, I wish I could like organize one.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I don't know why. I think it would be so great.
- 10:29Speaker 1: It could be like a fundraiser, like at a church
- 10:31Speaker 1: or a school or something. You're looking at me like
- 10:33Speaker 1: I'm crazy. I'm not. I love a holiday market. There
- 10:36Speaker 1: used to be one run by like the Junior League
- 10:40Speaker 1: over at the Fairgrounds. I went to that a couple
- 10:43Speaker 1: of years ago. I was during the day though, it
- 10:45Speaker 1: wasn't like a nighttime experience. Well, and it was also
- 10:48Speaker 1: like inside like in the fair It's not like an
- 10:51Speaker 1: outside with lights and fake snow falling around you, right,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I hear you, I hear you. It could be really cute.
- 10:58Speaker 1: So Paul Ziller directs this. He is directing three countdown
- 11:02Speaker 1: to Christmas movies in twenty twenty two alone, including Maple
- 11:05Speaker 1: Valley Christmas, Inventing the Christmas Prince, and of Course, We
- 11:10Speaker 1: Wish You a Married Christmas. He's also directed other Girls
- 11:13Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark favorites like Beverly Hills wedding and a movie
- 11:16Speaker 1: that I enjoyed that I don't believe Wendy has seen.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Good Morning Christmas. Just set my friendly recorder for Good
- 11:24Speaker 1: Morning Christmas. It's like a news second day. Yeah. Yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 1: Allie Sweeney stars And someone mentioned it in our Facebook
- 11:30Speaker 1: group and I was like, oh, I'm going to go
- 11:31Speaker 1: back and check that out. The director also did Chris's
- 11:35Speaker 1: movie last year, the twenty twenty one A Dickens of Holiday.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Oh Yes, which was not one of your favorite twenty
- 11:42Speaker 1: twenty one movies. I remember not liking it, right, I
- 11:45Speaker 1: remember the one scene towards the inver he was in
- 11:49Speaker 1: like a monologue situation. Yeah, and he was excellent. Now
- 11:54Speaker 1: I'm thinking, do I want to go back and watch it?
- 11:57Speaker 1: I might, Yeah, I can't remember, though, like overall, like
- 12:01Speaker 1: the movie wasn't great, though I liked it. I think
- 12:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to go back. I feel like this
- 12:06Speaker 1: year I'm watching with different eyes. I'm not watching with
- 12:09Speaker 1: such a critical like naysayer hater eyes. You know what
- 12:14Speaker 1: I mean. You're not like you gotta win me over,
- 12:17Speaker 1: You're meeting them halfway. Yeah. I remember us being a
- 12:21Speaker 1: team divided over a Dickens of a holiday last year.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I really like that, so I would encourage you to
- 12:25Speaker 1: watch it with fresh eyes. Especially Gosh, Chris Palaha is
- 12:30Speaker 1: just such a wowie zooy Oh my god, I'm so
- 12:32Speaker 1: freaking hut. And you know he has an eighteen year
- 12:35Speaker 1: old son. I did not something about that. He's got
- 12:40Speaker 1: three children, I think, but an eighteen year old son.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I was like, he's not the son. Chris is like
- 12:45Speaker 1: a man, right, like a family right. I don't know,
- 12:48Speaker 1: I'm I don't know. He's really good looking and on
- 12:52Speaker 1: his Instagram lately he's got like a full beard. Yeah
- 12:56Speaker 1: stop objective. Ye. It was written by Nicole Bax. She's
- 13:00Speaker 1: got sixteen writing credits, none of which I'm personally familiar
- 13:03Speaker 1: with or that we've reviewed. Are you ready for first impressions? Yes?
- 13:08Speaker 1: Go ahead enough already with the alpacas, What is the
- 13:13Speaker 1: freaking point they were in the movie poster? It wasn't
- 13:16Speaker 1: even like relevant to the story. They're cute. I have
- 13:21Speaker 1: a digit see that too later on about it, let
- 13:23Speaker 1: me do. My first impression is this is nothing like Shmigadoon. No,
- 13:30Speaker 1: yours wouldn't been a better movie if it was more
- 13:33Speaker 1: like Schmigadoon. No, No, I would have been too hijinxy
- 13:37Speaker 1: And I don't say that as a It's not a knock.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I just was getting that feeling from the preview, and
- 13:43Speaker 1: then that's not the movie it was, so I stand corrected. Okay,
- 13:49Speaker 1: what did we like about We Wish you a married Christmas?
- 13:53Speaker 1: I kind of have a big list, so I'm ready
- 13:55Speaker 1: for it. Buckle up, folks. This was a romantic drama. Yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 1: I don't can't recall a romantic drama that we've had
- 14:04Speaker 1: of reason, you know, there's always some sort of like
- 14:07Speaker 1: romantic it's they're mostly romantic comedies, right, This was a drama,
- 14:12Speaker 1: and I just applied Hallmark for giving us some depth.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Yeah one in that vein, I loved exploring this concept
- 14:24Speaker 1: of this married couple. They used the line that they
- 14:26Speaker 1: felt like they were alone together. They had been married
- 14:29Speaker 1: for a long time. You and I have been both
- 14:31Speaker 1: married for a long time. I'm not knocking either of
- 14:33Speaker 1: our marriages, but the reality of marriages that it has
- 14:36Speaker 1: its peaks and valleys, right, And I know some people
- 14:39Speaker 1: were like, oh, this felt like a downer. This It
- 14:41Speaker 1: did not feel like a downer to me at all.
- 14:43Speaker 1: It felt very realistic. And hopeful to me, But it
- 14:47Speaker 1: didn't feel like they were glossing over the reality of
- 14:50Speaker 1: a multiple year marriage and what that does to your relationship. Yeah,
- 14:55Speaker 1: a total side note that I just thought about while
- 14:58Speaker 1: we were talking. Here do call how long they had
- 15:01Speaker 1: been married. I don't. Something in my mind tells me
- 15:05Speaker 1: thirteen years. It was in the teens, I believe. And interesting.
- 15:09Speaker 1: They didn't have any children and was not even like
- 15:11Speaker 1: mentioned at all, which is who cares. But well, I
- 15:16Speaker 1: liked that they didn't have to make that qualifier. We
- 15:17Speaker 1: didn't have children because this is just who we are.
- 15:21Speaker 1: They got Jerry. Yeah, oh my god, that dog and
- 15:24Speaker 1: he was in the parade. I just thought that was
- 15:26Speaker 1: stop it. It is in my list of like when
- 15:28Speaker 1: Chris pull out hat screams Jerry during the parade. It
- 15:33Speaker 1: is the highlight of the movie for me. I rewound
- 15:37Speaker 1: it and watched it again. They're just total stage moms
- 15:40Speaker 1: for their dogs. We would totally do this thing. Oh
- 15:42Speaker 1: my right, gosh. I loved that scene and Jerry did
- 15:46Speaker 1: not care. He was like, what other guys, that's my baby?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Oh my god. It was so funny. And there was
- 15:55Speaker 1: another scene too, when we were talking about Jerry and
- 15:58Speaker 1: the lady goes, oh, as in Jerry Garcia. I think
- 16:01Speaker 1: it was a lady. It might have been a dude.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I can't remember. But the person says like, oh, Jerry
- 16:05Speaker 1: like Garcia, and she goes no, like Ben and and
- 16:08Speaker 1: I was like, I had to rewind it because I
- 16:11Speaker 1: was like, wait, what what did you say? And then
- 16:13Speaker 1: I got the joke. It was quite funny. I just
- 16:16Speaker 1: think Christopher Paula has such a great delivery in this movie,
- 16:20Speaker 1: has a real dry, humorous delivery. There's a moment where
- 16:24Speaker 1: they're at the Christmas Market, I believe, where they're at
- 16:27Speaker 1: a Christmas event and there's a silent auction or some
- 16:31Speaker 1: sort of auction, and they are going to be like,
- 16:33Speaker 1: let's go see what the hot ticket items are, and
- 16:35Speaker 1: he goes I know I'm dying to see what the
- 16:36Speaker 1: hot ticket items are. But his delivery is so great. Well,
- 16:41Speaker 1: you know what is funny is I was rewatching a
- 16:44Speaker 1: scene in this movie because I was trying to get
- 16:46Speaker 1: the names of the innkeepers, which we'll talk about in
- 16:49Speaker 1: his second Vincent Bryan, Yeah, Vince and Brian, and it's
- 16:53Speaker 1: they're checking in. The couple is checking in, what is
- 16:56Speaker 1: their names in this Their names are Becca and Robbie. Okay,
- 16:59Speaker 1: so Becca Robbie are checking in and it was the
- 17:01Speaker 1: whole thing about the two rooms or something, and they
- 17:04Speaker 1: were like ribbing each other about like snoring. Do you
- 17:08Speaker 1: recall this? So they had this like back and forth
- 17:10Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, you should hear her snore
- 17:13Speaker 1: and he's like, well, only on my back or whatever.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And it was it was really funny because it felt
- 17:17Speaker 1: very relatable. But do you remember we just watched a
- 17:21Speaker 1: wedding of a lifetime, Yes, and they had the couple
- 17:25Speaker 1: who were like the newscaster and they were so nasty
- 17:28Speaker 1: to each other, and it was the same kind of ribbing,
- 17:32Speaker 1: but this was different. It was more of like what
- 17:34Speaker 1: a real couple, right would talk to each other? Was kinder,
- 17:38Speaker 1: not mean spirited? Yes, yeah, exactly. Anyway, I appreciate that. Well.
- 17:44Speaker 1: On that note, I love Chris Paalaha and Marie soil
- 17:47Speaker 1: Nichols together. I think they were a great pairing. I
- 17:49Speaker 1: would absolutely watch more of them. I love them both individually.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I didn't feel like one was carrying the weight of
- 17:55Speaker 1: the other. And I thought their chemistry together, Oh so
- 18:00Speaker 1: that's interesting, Like I thought their chemistry was good to you,
- 18:03Speaker 1: but it wasn't like, in my mind a definition of
- 18:05Speaker 1: like chemistry is like this hot passion. Right. What I
- 18:09Speaker 1: thought was great between them is there was tension, and
- 18:12Speaker 1: in good tension too. I just thought they played so
- 18:15Speaker 1: well up off of each other, and some scenes were
- 18:19Speaker 1: so incredibly heartbreaking. To me, I was like, this should
- 18:22Speaker 1: be a real movie. And you know what I mean
- 18:24Speaker 1: by a real movie, guys, theatrical really Yes, yeah, I
- 18:28Speaker 1: hear what you're saying about chemistry, And to me, I
- 18:31Speaker 1: don't in my mind, I don't equate it necessarily to
- 18:34Speaker 1: like this hot, fiery passion. It's just how comfortable they
- 18:38Speaker 1: are with each other, how real they seem together, And
- 18:42Speaker 1: I don't think this movie had a need for a hot,
- 18:45Speaker 1: fiery sort of passion. They were talking about this long
- 18:48Speaker 1: time love. Yeah, yeah, how about that same with the therapist.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Shout out Pascal Hutton. She was in you had Me
- 18:58Speaker 1: at a Loha, You Had Me at a Loha. I mean,
- 19:00Speaker 1: she's used to playing like a lead in these in
- 19:03Speaker 1: these rights, so it was weird. I thought, Okay, did
- 19:06Speaker 1: she have some sort of connection with like the director
- 19:08Speaker 1: or the writer or whatever. But I couldn't find one,
- 19:10Speaker 1: So I don't know. Maybe she just was in town
- 19:14Speaker 1: and like she played the therapist. Sure, I don't know.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I just thought the scene was so funny because they
- 19:19Speaker 1: were fighting about the freaking microwave, and like that's what
- 19:23Speaker 1: like couples fight about, right, So I mean in my
- 19:26Speaker 1: house we fight about stupid. Absolutely, So I just enjoyed it.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I enjoyed it. Did you love Vincent Brian? I still
- 19:35Speaker 1: love Vincent, Brian Claude Knowlton and Brian Sills. I thought, huh,
- 19:43Speaker 1: and I shout out Cindy the toe truck window fixed
- 19:46Speaker 1: her too, like every time he asked her and she
- 19:48Speaker 1: was like one word, like yeah, I really liked getting
- 19:51Speaker 1: ready montage, him picking out a shirt, her putting a makeup.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I thought it was the last for me. Is just
- 19:58Speaker 1: I just thought I had great writing, great banter between
- 20:01Speaker 1: all the characters. It was a good script. I didn't
- 20:06Speaker 1: think it was a downer. I didn't either. I was
- 20:08Speaker 1: like rooting for them exactly. I think something can be
- 20:12Speaker 1: realistic without being depressing. Yeah, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, this
- 20:17Speaker 1: is gonna be a weird segment for me. What did
- 20:18Speaker 1: you wish for? Less alpacas and Okay, I just like
- 20:24Speaker 1: I said at the top, I don't understand why it
- 20:26Speaker 1: was promoted so hard about these alpacas. I'l paka your bag.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I don't know whatever it said. I just I didn't understand.
- 20:34Speaker 1: It was such a small portion of the movie. But
- 20:37Speaker 1: that's funny. I don't have an answer for you. They
- 20:40Speaker 1: didn't bother me. They I mean, they didn't bother me.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I thought it were silly when they were doing the
- 20:45Speaker 1: like alpacas are sending you a message situation you did,
- 20:49Speaker 1: but too it didn't make me laugh when Becca and
- 20:53Speaker 1: Robbie go in to do their own little Becca and
- 20:57Speaker 1: Robbie Graham to their families, I think, and they were
- 21:00Speaker 1: like trying to chase the outpack of his mouth with them.
- 21:05Speaker 1: I could have taken or left the alpacas. I just
- 21:09Speaker 1: don't know, like there has to be some sort of
- 21:12Speaker 1: animal in these movies. I know, you know what I
- 21:15Speaker 1: wanted to say, Jerry not on Jerry should have been
- 21:18Speaker 1: on a poster, right, Okay, I wanted to say more
- 21:22Speaker 1: thing about Jerry in my likes. I liked that they
- 21:24Speaker 1: had a dog in the movie, and that they didn't
- 21:26Speaker 1: forget about the dog. The dog became this like through line,
- 21:28Speaker 1: They're like, I'll get back and take care of Jerry.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Or they showed them walking Jerry. It wasn't just like
- 21:33Speaker 1: he was there as a prop. They followed it through
- 21:36Speaker 1: in every scene, like Jerry wasn't just an afterthought. He
- 21:39Speaker 1: wasn't like left in the hotel room for a week. Right.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I appreciate those kind of little details because then I'm like,
- 21:44Speaker 1: where's Jerry. Justice for Jerry. He should have been in
- 21:47Speaker 1: the post. I should have been the poster. I wish
- 21:51Speaker 1: I got ten out of ten. No notes, really, there's
- 21:54Speaker 1: nothing to wish for. Well, that's all I have is
- 21:56Speaker 1: about the alpacas too, That's all I have. Did just
- 22:00Speaker 1: see that. I just want to say this, and I'm
- 22:02Speaker 1: not stealing your line. What I think you can put
- 22:05Speaker 1: a microwave in an island. Yeah, my microwaves, my mom's
- 22:10Speaker 1: microwaves in her island. I think that's a pretty common thing.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I understand what he was talking about, like because it
- 22:16Speaker 1: made it sound like it was going to be on
- 22:18Speaker 1: top of the island, and I do understand, like, yeah,
- 22:22Speaker 1: that's in the way, but my microwave is in the island. Yeah,
- 22:28Speaker 1: so I had to do a little Internet research on
- 22:30Speaker 1: my did you see that? Okay, the alpacas again were
- 22:37Speaker 1: freshly shared. They were, and al pacas, according to the Internet,
- 22:41Speaker 1: are typically shared once a year, right before summer. Yes,
- 22:44Speaker 1: which definitely correlates because this movie was filmed in May
- 22:47Speaker 1: and June. Yes. Anyway, I just I thought it was funny. Yes,
- 22:52Speaker 1: there's no alpaca continuity in this movie, if you're looking
- 22:55Speaker 1: for that. IMDb actually also notes that as a goof
- 22:59Speaker 1: in this movie that takas are freshly sure in which
- 23:01Speaker 1: happens in the spring. I swear didn't steal that, I
- 23:04Speaker 1: believe you. So proud of myself that I was like,
- 23:06Speaker 1: that's interesting. Wouldn't they need their like fur or whatever
- 23:10Speaker 1: it is for Vermont? Yeah, in the wintertime. Yeah. Yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 1: So they did address this, but before they said it
- 23:17Speaker 1: out loud, I was like, is that a one float parade?
- 23:21Speaker 1: And then yeah, it's a one float parade and she goes, well,
- 23:25Speaker 1: maybe it's gonna come back or long, and the Mechanic's
- 23:27Speaker 1: like nope, yeah right. First of all, the hotel room
- 23:31Speaker 1: that they checked in was one of the nicest hotel
- 23:33Speaker 1: rooms I've ever seen. For like a two bedrooms apartment
- 23:37Speaker 1: and then and then they were like when they're in
- 23:40Speaker 1: the room and they're like, really two bedrooms or I'm
- 23:43Speaker 1: assuming each room has a queen or king sized bed,
- 23:48Speaker 1: then they have twin beds in there. Why couldn't they
- 23:51Speaker 1: just Auzzie and Harriet in one room together and the
- 23:54Speaker 1: bed that was there? Right? But I gotta say I
- 23:58Speaker 1: don't mind a separate room sometimes because I snore and
- 24:02Speaker 1: I don't want to hear crap about it the next day.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Everybody gets a better sleep. I like to be able
- 24:06Speaker 1: to spread out. Here's the thought. Maybe they addressed it.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I don't know. But their TV doesn't work? Yeah? Do
- 24:13Speaker 1: we think that's intentional? Like on these therapist book hotel
- 24:17Speaker 1: rooms that they're like cut their TV so that they're
- 24:20Speaker 1: forced to interact with each other. Yeah, but didn't they
- 24:22Speaker 1: watch that movie together? I think that maybe lends itself
- 24:26Speaker 1: more to like, let's watch a movie together instead of
- 24:28Speaker 1: let me turn on sports and you disassociate. Yeah. Yeah,
- 24:33Speaker 1: I think it was probably intentional. I wonder if there
- 24:35Speaker 1: was a line about that was cut. Are you ready
- 24:37Speaker 1: to rate? I wish you had married Christmas? Is it
- 24:41Speaker 1: too soon for four stars? No? I gave it four stars.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I gave it four and a half. Nice. I thought
- 24:47Speaker 1: this great, solid start to the weekend. I know it
- 24:51Speaker 1: was on Saturday night, but it was the first movie
- 24:54Speaker 1: that we were going to review. Yeah. I thought it
- 24:58Speaker 1: was solid acting, solid scripts, same looked great. I feel
- 25:04Speaker 1: actual joy in my heart about this movie, about these
- 25:07Speaker 1: movies it is. I'm very excited for what's to come.
