- 0:00Hey, podcast listener Mike Kennedy, I'm your humble host
- 0:03here. I am super excited to announce
- 0:05the next evolution of our Gill podcast series.
- 0:08You know us as the weekly every Monday long form coaching
- 0:13journey uplifting and honor coaches from around the world
- 0:16that is going to continue that original mission.
- 0:19Absolutely every Monday, original content with another
- 0:22track coach from from around the country, around the world.
- 0:25It's awesome. But now I'm here to explain
- 0:28something. I'm super excited about a new
- 0:30series that we're going to start very soon here.
- 0:33Probably the next week you'll see the first episode and we're
- 0:36titling it. The Gill 1918 Project.
- 0:39It's a podcast series that is short form, so 10 minutes to 30
- 0:44minutes, where we get into a ton of different topics from
- 0:48coaches. It's from coaches to coaches by
- 0:50coaches to coaches. Kind of think of it as the Ted
- 0:54talks of track and field podcast.
- 0:56And basically what I'm trying to do here is trying to take that
- 1:00annual track and field clinic that we go to that hopefully we
- 1:03all go to and bring it to you daily in short digestible chunks
- 1:08here on the podcast. So potential topics could be,
- 1:12you know, how to help create a three-step hurdler for the for
- 1:16high school could be about the culture of your team and some
- 1:19unique aspects you do. I've seen a lot of very cool
- 1:21Twitter topics around the PR bands and MPH mile per hour
- 1:26signs and autographs and things like that.
- 1:28Maybe you have a passion and expertise in recruiting.
- 1:31How to get recruited, how to be recruited, how to recruit.
- 1:34Lots of great topics. I I can see from around how to
- 1:37cohabitate with football and track and field.
- 1:40And of course certainly some strength and conditioning topics
- 1:42will be coming up. But all of these topics are
- 1:45created by coaches for you. So this will be a self-guided
- 1:49recording for the Gill 1918 Project.
- 1:52You know, I truly believe in coaching.
- 1:54Knowledge isn't just power, it's progress.
- 1:57The best coaches are students of the game, constantly learning,
- 2:00adapting and refining their approach.
- 2:02That's why we created the Gill 1918 Project.
- 2:05It's going to give coaches like you a platform to share
- 2:08insights, strategies and best practices with the track and
- 2:12field community. We're empowering coaches with
- 2:15innovative equipment since 1918, and now we're expanding that
- 2:18mission to include coaching education.
- 2:20Because great coaching creates great performances.
- 2:24And the best part? It's easy to be a part of.
- 2:26So the goal, if you take 365 days a year and -52 right, our
- 2:32Monday original content, that leaves 313 other days.
- 2:37So the goal is to publish 1A day, Tuesday through Sunday, 313
- 2:42episodes every single year. That means I need your help,
- 2:45right? You're the ones who are going to
- 2:47be providing this amazing content for other coaches out
- 2:49there. So why should you share your
- 2:52coaching knowledge on the Gill 1918 project?
- 2:54Why should you even be involved? Well, one, it helps amplify your
- 2:58impact on the sport. Track and field is a sport built
- 3:01on mentorship and knowledge sharing.
- 3:04When you record an episode for the Gill 1918 Project, you're
- 3:08given back to the coaching community by helping others
- 3:11learn from your experiences. Your insights would be key to
- 3:15another coach's breakthrough moment.
- 3:16Whether it's refining a sprinter or her, there's technique,
- 3:19optimizing distance runner, summer schedule, or detail in a
- 3:22piece of technology that you use to coach better.
- 3:25All events, All events and aspects of track and field are
- 3:29welcome to join us. You should also join us to get
- 3:32recognized as a thought leader. Sharing your expertise on Guild
- 3:351918 Project is a powerful way to position yourself as a leader
- 3:38in the sport. Your episode will be part of a
- 3:41growing collection of coaching knowledge listened to by high
- 3:43school, collegiate, club and elite coaches across the
- 3:46country. Promote your work.
- 3:49At the end of your episode, you'll have the opportunity to
- 3:51plug your book, coaching course, website, clinic, social media.
- 3:54This is your moment to get your name and resource in front of
- 3:57fellow coaches who are actively looking for ways to improve and
- 4:02honestly, to participate. It's quick and effortless.
- 4:05I know you're busy, that's why you're recording.
- 4:08Only needs to be between 10 and 30 minutes.
- 4:10Sure enough to be manageable, but long enough to provide
- 4:13valuable. And we made the submission
- 4:15process as simple as possible. I've got a article on LinkedIn,
- 4:19would love to share that with you on three easy steps to
- 4:22record your own episode. Super easy.
- 4:25If you can listen to a podcast, trust me, you can record your
- 4:29own podcast as well. I'm super excited to help you
- 4:33create your voice and have your voice heard.
- 4:35I know the knowledge that you have is super, super valuable
- 4:39and many, many aspects of the sport.
- 4:41And so I'm excited for the Gil 1918 project to help with that
- 4:45voice and to help other coaches and bring massive, massive,
- 4:49massive amounts of value as you listen to the episodes.
- 4:53Would love to hear your feedback.
- 4:55Obviously send me e-mail, text, Twitter DMS, smoke signals,
- 4:59however, you need to get a hold of me, get a hold of me.

- 5:09But super excited to start this new journey.
- 5:11This will begin here in just a couple of days.
- 5:13And then as we get them, we'll work, we'll publish them.
- 5:16And again, the goal is every single day, Tuesday through
- 5:19Sunday. So going to need a lot of voices
- 5:21out there, but I know that there are a lot of amazing coaches out
- 5:24there that have something to give to others and that's what
- 5:28the Guild 1918 projects all about.
- 5:29All right, guys, appreciate you listening to the kind of the
- 5:32intro commercial for the Guild 1918 project.
