- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Well, can but first can I say this is my favorite podcast that I do also.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: But yeah, but it's your favorite podcast that you do, and it's the only podcast that you do.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Is it the favorite, but it's the favorite podcast that you listen to, probably because the only podcast that you listen to, right?
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: I I don't listen to them.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: I I listen to it because we did it.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: So I just I just press stop at eight minutes and upload.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: So what's all right?
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: So you have a sandwich.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: You said you weren't a sandwich guy.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: I mean, I like you know, I told you I like a peanut butter and jelly.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I put a banana.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: And then I said we should do sandwiches, and you're like, I'm not really a sandwich guy, I don't do mayo.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: I'm not really a sandwich guy, but when the guy said he's waiting for a new sandwich, I was like, okay, let me give him a new sandwich.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but what about if when I asked for that?
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: I asked for that, and you were like, I'm not a sandwich guy.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: This guy asked for that, and now Yeah, but I'm closer with him.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: I'm close with him.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: I'm real close with him.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: He's one of my good friends.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: And what am I?
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: You're one of my other good friends.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: What's your sandwich?
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Okay, here's the deal.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: My mom would make she was into peanut butter honey, right?
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: So peanut butter, peanut butter, banana, and honey is a great sandwich.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Peanut butter and jelly.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: I told you I'd add, I'd I told you sometimes I'd I'd add banana, right?
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: And I will make a peanut butter and jelly and apple sometimes, right?
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Peanut butter, jelly, apple.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Well, you I don't remember well.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: I told you about the turkey and cheese and apple.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that one.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: But I also do that in a peanut butter and jelly, but the banana's better.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: But what I didn't tell you is something that came to me when when Wells texted me today.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: I remembered something that I didn't remember when you asked me.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Because I'm not a big sandwich guy.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: When I get a sandwich, I go to this one place called a Hogan's, and I get the number seven, which is a turkey and ham and monster cheese, lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar, salt, pepper, oregano on a white hoagie pressed.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: That's what I get.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: It's just a it's just a ham and turkey sandwich, basically.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: No mayo.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: And I don't need a Cuban, I don't need a Reuben, I don't need a whatever, right?
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: I I'll eat some pesto and brie.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: I like some cheese and tomato.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: That's all fine.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: But I'm just not eating those samples, those sandwiches aren't uh readily available to me.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: I don't live in California.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: But this um, but when I was a kid, it reminded me when he said about a sandwich.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: I remembered when I was about 21, 22 in Jacksonville.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: This guy opened a place in the weirdest little part of Jacksonville.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: It was like a little industrial park, and this guy opened a club there called the Bad Boy Club.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Hey.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: The Bad Boy Club.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Is that a dumb name or what?
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was 1988, 89, 1990.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: Maybe he was a bad boy.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: And it was a club that was open for lunch and dinner, and maybe I don't know what they did at night.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: They must have had some dancing.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: But at lunch, the bad boy club, you could go get a sandwich, and they had a PBJ and G.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: I remember this today when Wells asked me.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: The PBJ and G.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: Let me guess the G.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: That's what I wanted, that's why I paused.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, the G is they had a P J the Bad Boy Club and the PBJ and G.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: You'll never guess it.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Um PBJ You'll never guess it.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Graham cracker.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Um you're you guessed it.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: It was graham cracker.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: God, that just that was a literally the first word.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: So he would make it he would make these fancy bread, but fancy thrick bread, fancy thick peanut butter, good jelly, a couple graham crackers.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Was it peanut butter, jelly, and graham cracker, huh?
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: Was it and with bread?
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: So it was with bread and graham cracker.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was PBJ and G, peanut butter, jelly, and graham cracker, and bread and the graham cracker.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: You could just do the graham cracker as the bread.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: I thought that's what I'm saying.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but this had bread.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: This has a nice bread and the graham cracker.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: You got the crunch of the graham cracker and the fluffiness of the bread, you know, and that's different.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: They have different textures, that's good, different taste.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: It was crunchy.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: It was good, man.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: I remember liking it.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: I go by and get the PBJ and G, but I never heard of that before or since.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Well, that's so there's your new sandwich for the day.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: There's a good one.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Hey, here's one.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Um, it's not really a sandwich, but I was thinking, boy, it's kind of like an open face sandwich.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: That my wife open face is good.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: I made one yesterday.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: My wife made last night, but she didn't make it as a sandwich.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: But she we she made sliced tomatoes, birata cheese, um basil, oil and vinegar, and we were just gonna eat it like a salad.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: But then she also made garlic bread, and I just put the pile of tomatoes and barata cheese and basil on the garlic bread and ate it like an open-faced sandwich.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: And that was done.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Well, that's interesting because yesterday I took half a bagel and I put a smear of cream cheese on it, and then I put a tomato, and then I put um uh uh uh uh provolone cheese and then pepper and olive oil, and then had that as an open face sandwich.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's the same sort of similar deal, you know.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: What's a schmear?
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: What's a smear?
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like a schmear is like uh is when you take cream cheese and you spread it on a bagel.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: So that's just that's just that's just cream cheese on a bagel.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: It's a schmear, they call that.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Well, I know.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: Why do they call it that?
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Why don't they just call it cream cheese?
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Because it's Jewish, it's a Jewish thing.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: Well, I know, but why is it Jewish?
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: Why isn't it just bagel's cream cheese?
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: I don't, I don't, I'm not AI.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: I don't have all the answers.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: I didn't know if like, oh no, a schmear is kind of it's a different kind of cream cheese.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: It could be cheese.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: It no, no, I think it's just it's just the way they schmear it on there.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: They schmear it.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: You mean they spread it?
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: You mean they spread it?
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a spread.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: It's a spread.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: It's called a schmear.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: Okay, I think it's a Jewish way of saying spread.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: But you have to put it's like it's like you have to crack pepper on that tomato, salt and pepper on that tomato, or it doesn't count.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: On mine.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: If you don't crack pepper and salt on that tomato, if you don't crack some pepper and sprinkle some salt on that tomato, whatever sandwich you're making, it has to have pepper and salt.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: We had cracked pepper and salt on it.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Mine, but yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: Yours was good.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: And then then, like a little balsamic reduction is always nice.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: They sell that, yeah.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: A little olive oil and reduction.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, oh, so delicious.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Delicious good bagel with a smear and melt.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: I don't smear a lot of cream cheese, and then I melt that cheese on there, but on the tomato, the tomato, the cream.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, so good.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: But that's not a sandwich, that's just an open fake.
