I'm yeah. speaker-1: Thank you. Yeah. speaker-0: So okay, before we dive in, I always love to ask what's something fun or unexpected people might not know about you since you're all over the media. speaker-1: Give us some something fun that I'm not fun. I'm pretty boring. I, you know, I I'm a homebody. I'm pretty private. I love to work in my garden. I ride horses. I work out to cook, hang out with my family, hang out with my guy. I yeah, I think people would be shocked that I'm really don't have as glamorous a life as it looks like, as it appears that I have. speaker-0: Yeah, no, I love it. I tell people all the time like I'm closeted introvert, like speaker-1: I you know what I call people like us, introverted extroverts. speaker-0: Yes. Yeah. Like I love it when I have a quiet night and I don't have to go any more. Of course. speaker-1: Yes. speaker-0: But I do love being around people when I am. Yes. I agree. So tell me then a little bit more about what you're working on and working on now and creating with your healthy inside and looking great outside. speaker-1: I've been speaking forever about beauty from the inside out, whether it's on California Live on MBC or my podcasts or just even with my clients. It's not about covering up your face with makeup. It's about beauty from the inside out means to me what you ingest, what you drink, what you eat, that you sleep, that you exercise, that you're happy, that you, that you're grateful, all these things. And so a few months ago, I was approached by this, this amazing supplement company. that has formulated this amazing product that we're calling it's we've created a product called reboot and it's on I'm too busy and it's good morning, good afternoon and good evening. So there's two in the morning, two midday, two in the afternoon. It is all about gut health. Gut health is everything. Gut health affects your skin, all your organs, it affects how you feel more than people realize. And so I'm super excited about working on this new product. I think it's going to be amazing. And then in Q1 of 26, we have skincare coming out and makeup called I'm Too Busy. So I'm really we've got a lot of really exciting things going on right now. And then I'm absolutely loving my show, I'm too busy. I get I get the blessing like you do to interview a bunch of, you know, exciting people that are doing really amazing things. So I have that's what I have the most fun with is, you know, being the nerd that I am is, you know, researching these different people and coming up with scripts that are, you know, different than what most people have are asking. I interviewed Steve Garvey last week. He's been interviewed a literally probably a million times. And so I wanted to have questions that, you know, are not the typical questions. So we had a really great conversation for about an hour and I was so happy to hear. I, you know, I I asked my friends that are sports casters and you know, it really heavily into sports, like, what would you ask him if if you had him in front of your face? And so I I think we came up with a really good script and it was it was a lot of fun. So I'm I'm enjoying all the different things of my career, the podcast, the being a makeup artist, you know, the supplements, the skincare, you know, and even the taking the time to working with my beauty chemist with those new formulations for the skincare. It's fascinating to me. speaker-0: Amazing. I love that. And I I want to say something that you said earlier, which I I love. It's a kind of a stickler of managing your water bottle and lipstick. And that's kind of, you know, what got you started back in the day. So tell me about like a roadblock that you face at the very beginning of your your taking the leap into the entrepreneurial world in that phase of like going, how do I get started? speaker-1: Just getting started. I think that's the hardest thing. Just deciding you want to do it. You just need to do it. You don't get handed a CEO book. In fact, I didn't even know what a CEO was when I started 25 years ago. I just wanted to come up with a product that I could use and I could share with my friends and family and hopefully the world. And, you know, I didn't know what a business plan was. I had no concept. I wasn't self-funded. So I've been self-funding myself all this time until now. And now I have, thank God, I have these amazing partners that are, you know, completing my team that let me focus on my strengths and they focus on their strengths, which is all the behind the scenes stuff that actually make it all happen. The the fundraising, the getting the marketing, all of these different things that you don't even realize are behind every company that is successful. speaker-0: Yeah, no, I I say with my first company, Clover C do what you do best, outsource the rest. Like just because you can do it doesn't mean you should be doing it. speaker-1: Absolutely. That's so true. And, you know, micromanaging your team is an absolute waste of time. It's almost offensive because and I would feel that way if I was working for someone that was like, okay, go do makeup, but I'm going to tell you how to do it. No, I, you know, with my social media team, you know, I give them suggestions and, you know, we talk about everything, but I let them create their magic. And then them having the freedom to be creative and to do these different things. I just think you're gonna get a better you make the inv work environment better. Everyone's happy. And I have an open door policy. If anyone has an issue, wants to talk or has a suggestion. I always have an open door. Come sit, talk to me. I wanna hear about it. speaker-0: Yeah, when you open it up and you give them the respect that they deserve, it allows for even more creativity to, you know, be created from the team of being like, okay, wow, she really believes in me. let's see how how far we can you know, put our minds to creating something totally outside the box. Because, you know, we she already has our trust, we already have her trust. Let's let's do more. speaker-1: Absolutely. And I think you get a loyalty that you wouldn't typically get if you were constantly micromanaging and telling people what to do. speaker-0: Yeah, most definitely. So I would do want to kind of pivot a little bit and go to more of what you were talking about giving back, like what keeps you grounded. I love how you were talking a little bit more about the charitable work. take us to that. speaker-1: So my son Bo passed away when he was four and a half months old on Christmas Day. It was horrific. And I didn't want him to be forgotten. And so I started a found an educational fund at the Northern Light School in Oakland, California for underprivileged children to have the all the opportunities that my children have had, you know, with going to getting an amazing education, which leads to opening doors and an extraordinary life. And then my husband, Ken Flack, he was a professional tennis player. Former number one gold medalist, one Wimbledon, passed away seven and a half years ago from sepsis. And so I started raising awareness for sepsis because we had no idea what it was. And I didn't want anyone else to lose a loved one from not knowing the signs of sepsis, which is an infection of the blood that attacks your vital organs. and then I started the Ken FLAC fund at the Northern Lights School. So we've been doing that with and my children have all participated. my kids are golfers. my son is Ben, who is Bo's twin. Going to play Division I golf in the fall. Got number two at the Junior Worlds last week in San Diego. He has raised almost $200,000 in the last seven years. For the Northern Light School for these kids to go to school. And it's I I tell him he thinks it's like, mom, it's no big deal. I have the day off from school and they give me cookies. I'm like, let me explain to you something. You just playing golf is up, you know, opening a door for children to go to school and have a private school experience that they normally wouldn't have. So, you know, it costs about $10,000 per child. So 20 kids have been affected by what my son. playing golf has done. So and I'm really, really proud of that. I just feel like as a mom, the greatest thing you can do is to see your kids giving back and and giving making the world a better place. I think it's really, really important. speaker-0: proud mama moment for sure. speaker-1: So many proud mommy moments. speaker-0: Yeah, he learned from you about the power of using your voice just for the betterment of others. And and that's an amazing quality to have at such a young age. speaker-1: Yeah, I think it's really great. I just I love that they they don't just see me talking about doing these things, they see me doing it. And I think my daughter Rose had mentioned that to me a few years ago. Like, mommy, your lectures on drugs and alcohol and everything else were just lame. But your the example that you've set, how you treat people, your work ethic, all the different, you know, you've dealt with all these major catastrophes in our life with. dignity and grace. And that is more impactful. So that actually really shocked me to hear, but it was a nice thing to hear. speaker-0: I love that, I guess. Okay. So before we wrap it up, I like to throw this out there. Okay, so any woman, dead or alive, who would you want to do makeup on? speaker-1: my gosh. Marilyn Rose just popping into my head. Rita Hayworth. You know, I've had the opportunity to work on some beautiful women, but I think that would be really fun to be able to go back in time and, you know, work on these amazing faces. speaker-0: yeah. And I mean, gosh, to be at that time in Hollywood. speaker-1: They work. It's fascinating. I look at those. I was at dinner the other night with another makeup artist friend of mine and there was in the restaurant there was an old movie playing and Rita Hayworth came on and both of us were like salivating, like, if only we could work on that gorgeous space. How fun would that be? speaker-0: that's amazing. Gosh. Well, thank you so much, Christina, for being on the show. speaker-1: thank you. speaker-0: making us all smile ear to ear with your awesomeness. How can people connect with you? what's the best platforms? speaker-1: You can look at Christinaflack.com. You can look at I'mToBusytv.com, pretty girlmakeup.com, and coming very soon, I'm too busy wellness. speaker-0: Mm. I love I'm too busy. Like speaker-1: Right. It everyone can relate to it. Men, women, children, everyone's too busy. You need to take time. Even though you are too busy, it's super important to take the time to take care of yourself. You're gonna have a much happier, easier life when you take care of yourself from the inside out. Super important. speaker-0: Yes, yes, most definitely. Thank you so much. And until next time, remember, take the time to take care of yourself.
