- 0:01Better rock better talk damn radio.
- 0:07Damn radio damn right i am samuel trap this.
- 0:13Is international flavor that you are listening to on damn radio this morning
- 0:19and i'm.
- 0:20Very damn glad to have you and i'm hoping that the sound is coming through
- 0:24alright and that there's no.
- 0:26Errors in my technology because i am coming to you live from Minsk belarusia.
- 0:37Which is actually Minsk belarus and apparently it's a faux pas to call it
- 0:42belarusia you don't do that, and that is a bad plan and i'm hoping the.
- 0:48The sound comes in pretty good it looks like the meters are all doing Okay,
- 0:52that the sound is coming in all right, I had done a.
- 0:57recorded show the other night to make sure that I have one in case I need to
- 1:02upload it and i'm hoping that is not the case that we will be able to.
- 1:08Listen to tonight's show but tonight we are only going to go the hour and a
- 1:12half and I thought it was very much worthwhile to get together with you and to
- 1:19give you a timeline, if you will, of.
- 1:24What is going on and what went on because I think this could be a fun drama
- 1:31session to go through a drama scenario.
- 1:35What is going on in the world, because there has been nothing but drama since
- 1:41in the drama is a crazy level of drama coming to us, mainly from the likes of
- 1:49the Zelensky's of the world, the.
- 1:51The aftermath of this meeting this historic meeting between Vladimir Putin, so
- 2:00what I thought I would do would give me go back through the timeline and it's
- 2:05pretty funny because the timeline that i'm giving you i'm going to make no
- 2:08bones about it, this is the timeline.
- 2:12That that comes minute by minute Greenwich mean time now, I will let you know
- 2:18that right now.
- 2:20I could probably accept phone calls and if anybody's willing to call in, and I
- 2:27think I can get it to work so if somebody wanted to call in you could call in
- 2:32still at 573-746-8020 and speak to me live in Belarus, as I am broadcasting,
- 2:41but here it is five o'clock in the morning, so I am actually.
- 2:49Live at 5am I figured I would do the show live at least the first time I really
- 2:55wanted to because my opinions have been developing over the last couple of days
- 3:00of travel.
- 3:02they're coming into you and i'm really hoping that the sound comes out Okay,
- 3:06and like I said it appears that my meters are doing all just fine.
- 3:10And that everything is coming in just right technology is so freaking
- 3:14incredible that I am able to come to you live from Minsk Belarus and before I
- 3:20get into my timeline of events, I wanted to tell you about the.
- 3:26way you have to travel these days so next week i'm going to be in Moscow for
- 3:34the for the week.
- 3:37i've got a couple of interviews lined up over there i've got hopefully a couple
- 3:42of extra meetings to try to get involved with a couple of things over there
- 3:47too, because I thought it was particularly important or particularly
- 3:51interesting or could be particularly engaging to.
- 3:56get the points of view of people, but the time is off my live show happens
- 4:02every night at 9pm Chicago time, but if you're in Belarus, you know 9pm Chicago
- 4:09time is 5am.
- 4:11Belarus time and it'll be 6am Moscow time I believe it's only one hour in order
- 4:17to get there, but before we get to that I wanted to tell you about the travels
- 4:20about my first impressions of Belarus and night is my very first time in
- 4:26Belarus and never been to Minsk before I have not been here if there's any.
- 4:33sort of bad i'm sure jr would let me know or somebody would if they're
- 4:39listening to the show if the quality is garbage that's coming through it
- 4:45doesn't appear to be like I said it appears that the sound is coming through
- 4:49just fine I don't want to over obsess about it, but again anybody who knew my
- 4:54first 40 or 50 shows on damn radio knows that i'm not the most technologically
- 5:01gifted person.
- 5:02On the planet, and so I want to make sure that every thing appropriately and
- 5:08I'll I do have to go buy one or two pieces of equipment that I left at home, if
- 5:13you can believe that on my trip over here that, but I think it'll be worth the
- 5:19purchase I kind of wanted to upgrade anyway if I do have to go get the things
- 5:23that i'm talking about, but first of all I want to give you my impressions of
- 5:27the travel here and what happened first of all.
- 5:31I generally travel Turkish airways and especially getting over to this side of
- 5:37the planet because they have.
- 5:40They're very professional and how they do it, I like flying Turkish airlines,
- 5:44so if your layover in Istanbul, which is virtually every layover you have you
- 5:49know I you know there could be other layovers i'm sure, but everyone that I
- 5:53have happens to go through Istanbul and it's a beautiful airport, first of all,
- 5:58so you get that to your benefit excellent food excellent.
- 6:03air lounge you know, on the Turkish airline side and stuff like that, where you
- 6:08can go hang out in the air lounge well if you're there longer than a set number
- 6:12of hours and I don't remember the number of hours, it is, but if you're there
- 6:16longer than a set number of hours, then they.
- 6:20provide for you a trip i've had a trip to the Bosphorus you know you get on a
- 6:25ship and they take you on a two three hour cruise of the Bosphorus and provide
- 6:29you lunch and show you the Bosphorus straits and the shipping channels probably
- 6:34the most and one of the most busy shipping channels on the planet.
- 6:38And it's a outstanding gateway from gateway between Asia and Europe beautiful
- 6:46mosques everywhere excellent history they've been around for centuries and so
- 6:51there's plenty to see and to walk around and to go and.
- 6:58intake, if you will, they have great Turkish candy stores and Turkish sweets
- 7:03and are some of the best know what the Turkish coffee is outstanding Turkish
- 7:08tea, you know all of these things Turkish food, in fact, is outstanding food,
- 7:14and so, if you if you like the Turkish culture like I like Turkish culture it's
- 7:19there, but if your layover involves an overnight.
- 7:23If it's like your flight gets in late you're gonna end up saying all right,
- 7:28they give you a hotel and so you get up as part of your fee right, and so you
- 7:35get a hotel room and you spend the night on my flight was going to be.
- 7:40Somewhere neighborhood 22 hour layover so they give you a free hotel room and
- 7:47mine happened to be on the 16th floor of this fantastic hotel and I took the
- 7:53metro to get there, and the metro is really cool and they have a subway system.
- 7:58I could have gotten an uber taking a shuttle or something like that, but I
- 8:03chose to do the metro, which was really cool and then found restaurant for
- 8:08eating late at night, they give you free breakfast is part of your part of your
- 8:12deal and off you travel okay and it's.
- 8:16Free again my favorite four letter word has always been started with an F, and
- 8:22mine ends with an E, but it's free, and so I like that and it was a fantastic
- 8:28to wander around at night and see Istanbul at nighttime very nice and then get
- 8:34up and have a nice breakfast and then get on a flight to Belarus.
- 8:38Actually, I flew not to Belarus, I flew to Lithuania Vilnius and from Vilnius
- 8:47took a.
- 8:50Took a because there's you know sanctions and there's all kinds of weird stuff
- 8:53on where you fly so you can get pretty creative if you do it, but I have a
- 8:57Russian visa that I've had for a while it's a three year visa.
- 9:00I think I got probably nine 10 months left on it before I got to get a new one
- 9:05and so at any rate of Russian visa helps to get you into Belarus and if I could
- 9:12go just as cheaply to get from.
- 9:19Istanbul or get into.
- 9:22Belarus, I could get into Bell I could get into.
- 9:27Lithuania, so I flew into Vilnius Lithuania, which was really cool too, because
- 9:33they are very much.
- 9:36Anti Russian and I did a bit of a story on this invite in a little bit of a
- 9:41rant I did the other day on a channel.
- 9:45So.
- 9:46I am against the cultural destruction or taking everything down that is trying
- 9:53to destroy Russia as a culture and it's pretty comical because I've talked
- 9:58about this before in North Port, Florida, where you run into people who are
- 10:02Ukrainian and speak Ukrainian and want to speak Ukrainian and they refuse.
- 10:07To speak Russian.
- 10:09You saw that what Vladimir Putin did when he came over and spoke with Trump the
- 10:16other day right and what they were talking about and how they reacted with each
- 10:21other and Putin who rarely rarely does this he speaks German fluently, but he
- 10:26doesn't you don't hear him say much in English.
- 10:29He said a few things in English and it was, you know, for Trump's benefit and
- 10:34I've got some observations on that when we get into what happened, but I'm
- 10:38going to go through the timeline of that to get to the drama here in a minute.
- 10:42But I want to tell you about my my adventures and getting to to Vilnius first
- 10:47of all.
- 10:48Well, to Minsk, first of all, I always get stuck on the Seinfeld episode.
- 10:53Remember when George can stands at George can't stand yet.
- 10:58Borrowed Jerry Seinfeld's book in the library.
- 11:01Cop came after them, came after Jerry Seinfeld for stealing a book from the
- 11:05public library years ago.
- 11:08Tropic of Cancer that George was going to return and he didn't.
- 11:11And the Tropic of Cancer and they always talked about the strange erotic tales
- 11:17of a girl traveling from Moscow to Minsk.
- 11:21I've been to Moscow, but never to Minsk and I'm not a girl.
- 11:25But, you know, every time I think of Minsk, I think of can't stand yet.
- 11:30George can't stand yet.
- 11:31Jerry Seinfeld in the stealing of the book or the the cop, the library police.
- 11:38Anyway, stupid, foolish story.
- 11:40But there you go.
- 11:41And a sad reflection of my history or my history lessons and where they come
- 11:46from.
- 11:47Very sad that they come from Seinfeld and not knowing anything about history.
- 11:53But here I have my I want to talk about border crossings and talk about people
- 11:58trying to discount you from speaking in Russian.
- 12:02So everybody in Lithuania also speaks Russian.
- 12:05And there's a whole channel of people that were because when I researched this
- 12:10part of my little tale that I'm telling you, the funny part is, is that people.
- 12:16Russian people living in Lithuania are embarrassed to speak their own language.
- 12:22Why?
- 12:22Because of cancel culture there.
- 12:24If you say something in Russian there, they're going to cancel you.
- 12:27And so they don't want to offend people.
- 12:29So they don't speak their own language.
- 12:30They don't talk about, you know, their own culture, their own history.
- 12:35What kind of nonsense is that?
- 12:38Of course, we've broadcast it all over the planet with our own Russophobia.
- 12:43And that is everywhere that we have Russian disinformation.
- 12:47We have the disinformation of Hollywood that paints every Russian as a drug
- 12:55dealer, as a an arms supplier, as a mafia man, something like that.
- 13:01And is very destructive and will kill people.
- 13:03Or some bumbling comic guy like in Armageddon, you know, that guy and who turns
- 13:09out to be pretty professional.
- 13:11But, you know, they want to paint them in these weird brushes.
- 13:16But now we're supposed to hate everything Russian because of all of this.
- 13:20Well, that is alive and well, because people are still doing it.
- 13:24And so you're not allowed to speak it in America.
- 13:28You're not allowed to speak it in Lithuania.
- 13:30You're canceled everywhere you go when you speak it, except Belarus.
- 13:35OK, here they have dual signs in the signs column in Belarus and in Russian
- 13:42languages.
- 13:43And so that's that's rather interesting.
- 13:46And when you get to Minsk, Belarus or Belarus, it's a beautiful, beautiful.
- 13:52I took a...
- 13:56Had a breakfast in a...
- 14:02It was very nice, very modern, very cool.
- 14:07And it was like seven thirty eight o'clock in the morning.
- 14:11And the city is very much like Europe.
- 14:14And they go out a lot of places.
- 14:20The young don't go out until 11 o'clock at night.
- 14:24And they're just finishing up at seven o'clock in the morning.
- 14:27So walking down the street, people still carrying.
- 15:15Let's see here.
- 15:16Are we coming?
- 15:16We had a little bit of discord.
- 15:28Let us check and make sure that we are coming in well.
- 15:32It appears that we are.
- 15:34Sorry for those brief snafus.
- 15:36So the technology got me, but I'm watching the meters religiously and hoping to
- 15:41catch them if there is anything that comes up.
- 15:45So I apologize if we came in.
- 15:47But like I said, I'm in a little balcony overlooking a place that is in between
- 15:55all these brand new apartment buildings.
- 15:57And it's like got a garden in the middle and where, you know, playground, stuff
- 16:03like that.
- 16:03And very nice, very impressed so far with the city of Minsk.
- 16:09And then the end of the week, I'm taking a.
- 16:12So we drive around and see a bunch of places historic.
- 16:16And then the.
- 16:19End of next week or end of this week, I'm going to take a train to Moscow and
- 16:24we're going to see what's what's up over there.
- 16:26And then I have a few things lined up over there so you can enjoy this trip
- 16:30with me as we go.
- 16:31And hopefully the technology will continue to work.
- 16:34And if I have to record a show, well, we'll have a couple in the can that we
- 16:39can use as a recording in the event that that is necessary.
- 16:42But for tonight's show, I am definitely live.
- 16:46And again, if anybody would like to call in, you can do so.
- 16:50And hopefully the technology won't crap out on us.
- 16:52And the technology is for phoning in would be 573-746-8020.
- 17:00And it appears that it's going to work out quite well for us all.
- 17:06But now to get to the real point of today's show, which is to.
- 17:12Tell you about some of the things that have gone on.
- 17:24Let's hope not.
- 17:26It's it's it's still there.
- 17:28Everything appears to be coming in just perfectly.
- 17:32Now, hopefully I don't have to come off of the screen, because if I do,
- 17:37sometimes it's not been recording all the way.
- 17:39And we'll make sure that.
- 17:56Oh, well, there are there we are.
- 17:58I don't know why it is.
- 18:00Well, we've had a couple of different incidents with the.
- 18:05With the discussion on the through discord.
- 18:10And I'm hoping that it doesn't affect it terribly.
- 18:13And it doesn't appear to be that network still appears strong.
- 18:18Everything appears very nice.
- 18:21And I just want to make sure that everything comes through.
- 18:24All right.
- 18:25So let's start with Friday afternoon.
- 18:27And what was.
- 18:28Because Greenwich Mean Time was is about.
- 18:32Call it six hours ahead of Alaska time.
- 18:37Maybe it's seven.
- 18:38I don't know.
- 18:39I didn't go look at it, but I think it's six or seven.
- 18:42And when you get into it, when they first started the show, it was around
- 18:48quarter to 7 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time.
- 18:51And it showed that Pete Hegseth, Scott Besant and Commerce Secretary Howard
- 18:58Lutnick, that they were going to join the Putin Trump summit for an expanded
- 19:04bilateral meeting and lunch, said the White House.
- 19:08That's according to the White House.
- 19:10And then the video at about the same time, minute or two.
- 19:13And within their showed videos taken of the press room, they showed the joint
- 19:19press room where you saw the aftermath, where they had the the joint press
- 19:25conference afterward with where it said pursuing peace on the background.
- 19:29And the next thing you get is right before seven o'clock, right before 7 p.m.
- 19:36Greenwich Mean Time.
- 19:38You get that Putin has arrived in Alaska with a summit for Trump.
- 19:42And there are there's a red carpet rolled out.
- 19:46You got a whole video for you to see them.
- 19:49Excellent photo opportunities.
- 19:51And the two and President Trump met him personally all by himself out on the
- 19:56tarmac came out.
- 19:58And so let's get to the drama of where we go from here, because then Putin and
- 20:04Trump stepped off of their planes almost simultaneously onto the tarmac,
- 20:09greeted each other ahead, you know, and greet each other ahead of the summit.
- 20:13That was the news blurb.
- 20:15The following news blurb about 15 minutes after, after 7 p.m. Greenwich Mean
- 20:21Time.
- 20:22The two leaders shook hands, patted each other on the shoulder and exchanged
- 20:28smiles, pleasantries, greetings.
- 20:30They posed for a joint photo before Putin got into Trump's car, his limousine.
- 20:38With the Russian leader smiling from the window as they drove off.
- 20:41And that was a nice little video.
- 20:43Right.
- 20:43And the commentary, the drama surrounding this little thing was a big deal.
- 20:50What is he doing in the what is he doing in the president's motorcade?
- 20:55Well, motorcade into the president's limo.
- 20:58Why is he in there?
- 20:59Why is he treating him like this?
- 21:01People remember how Zelensky was treated and Zelensky was treated like, you
- 21:06know, the Antichrist.
- 21:07He was, you know, coming in like who's the guy from Thor's brother coming in.
- 21:15He's being treated like Thor's brother.
- 21:20And he's he's not the god of anything.
- 21:24He's not supposed to be right.
- 21:25Putin is supposed to be demonized and evil.
- 21:29So those who already they were starting to come unglued.
- 21:31They could see this is not where they wanted.
- 21:34And this is this will probably take my whole hour and a half to get through all
- 21:38of these because there's so many timelines.
- 21:40And here we are.
- 21:42It's been a whole half hour since these news people are looking for for little
- 21:49tidbits of something to report to us.
- 21:51Right.
- 21:52And right at 730, the first footage of the talks has emerged.
- 21:58American journalists can be seen calling out questions to Putin at his meeting
- 22:04or as his meeting with Trump gets underway at Elmendorf-Richardson Air Base.
- 22:11It's Camp Richardson, Elmendorf-Richardson, the army side of that same base.
- 22:17Then Putin and Trump have officially begun their summit 10 minutes later.
- 22:22And there's the start of them walking out, you know, where they tried to get
- 22:27some to answer some questions in the beginning and it didn't happen.
- 22:30And then they walked out.
- 22:31Well, pretty soon there was about a half an hour in, well, 15 minutes into the
- 22:38actual meeting.
- 22:39As the talks unfold.
- 22:42The media have now been given their first little taste of drama from the
- 22:49American side.
- 22:50They were given the footage of B-2 Spirit bomber escorted by four F-22 fighters
- 22:58that flew over Putin and Trump in the Alaskan sky as they posed for the photo.
- 23:04So this came up right at the beginning when they were posing for the photo in
- 23:07the beginning.
- 23:08Right.
- 23:09And remember, Putin and Trump are standing out on this red carpet with no
- 23:15interpreters.
- 23:17No, but he's standing there, just the two of them.
- 23:21If that member, if they're taking over the planet, you know, it's starting
- 23:24right here, just the two of them.
- 23:26And Trump and Putin had no interpreters at their meeting on the airfield as the
- 23:31Russian leader speaks English well.
- 23:34It is highly unusual to see the leaders of two superpowers in the same
- 23:41limousine.
- 23:43Oh, my God.
- 23:44Meanwhile, they had snipers, armored vehicles, hundreds of security personnel
- 23:51guarding the venue of the meeting.
- 23:52They had people everywhere.
- 23:54They were massively covering the entire thing.
- 23:57Right.
- 23:58And then White House released, the White House released a joint photo of a
- 24:06smiling Trump and Putin ahead of the talks that said pursuing peace.
- 24:10So while they're meeting.
- 24:13People are releasing news still.
- 24:16And then then comes along NBC.
- 24:20And what does NBC have to say?
- 24:22NBC says it now it's fully two hours since the beginning of this.
- 24:28It is 2112 Greenwich Mean Time.
- 24:33NBC compared Trump's seemingly warm greeting of Putin with his tense
- 24:42Oval Office reception of Vladimir Zelensky.
- 24:47We're getting the hints that, you know, this is this is going to be we got to
- 24:52beat up on Trump for not, you know, licking the boots of Vladimir Zelensky.
- 24:57And he is licking the boots of Vladimir Vladimirovich.
- 25:04Putin is what's going on.
- 25:06People don't like it.
- 25:07Oh, goodness.
- 25:08You can tell that they're not going to like this.
- 25:10And so they say that that meeting in February ended with Trump and President
- 25:15Vice President J.D. Vance criticizing the Ukrainian leader for his own lack of
- 25:22gratitude.
- 25:24So you see where they're going with us already, right?
- 25:28The mistreatment.
- 25:30Oh, can you believe it?
- 25:32Peace is never going to happen if NBC has anything to say about it.
- 25:37And then right around the same time, the White House has called the meeting
- 25:42between Trump and Putin historic, as it published on social media a picture of
- 25:48the two leaders walking the red carpet on the tarmac together.
- 25:51Right.
- 25:52So they're already getting bitchy that is being called historic while it's
- 25:56still going on.
- 25:58And talks between President Putin and Donald Trump involving close aides have
- 26:04concluded.
- 26:05This is at 1020 Greenwich and excuse me, and they involve close aides.
- 26:12And the Kremlin has said it published a video showing the Russian delegation
- 26:15leaving the room.
- 26:17Oh, you know what I forgot to mention?
- 26:19I forgot to mention Sergei Lavrov wearing his USSR sweater or sweatshirt, which
- 26:25has prompted all kinds of talk and prompted actually a huge increase in the
- 26:31sale of USSR paraphernalia and sweatshirts.
- 26:35In fact, I think I'm going to look for one.
- 26:38I'm going to buy me a new USSR sweatshirt.
- 26:42I used to have one, but I'm going to find another one.
- 26:44Maybe I can find a USSR hockey team jersey because there was some talk that
- 26:48maybe that was a USSR hockey team jersey.
- 26:52The flag that Sergei Viktorovich was wearing.
- 26:57And but we can't be positive what's going on there.
- 27:00But boy, there's all kinds of reasons to get upset about this before we even
- 27:05get anywhere.
- 27:06So right now, all you have is drama.
- 27:09So drama includes all the people from all over the planet talking about this.
- 27:13Right.
- 27:13And let's see later.
- 27:16It said a joint press conference of the two presidents will start very soon.
- 27:22Right.
- 27:23And so they're trying to give as much detail as they can before they get to the
- 27:29hopefully something meaty.
- 27:31And so far, there's been nothing meaty.
- 27:33But boy, I've talked about it now for nearly half an hour.
- 27:37And so let's see.
- 27:40Then we have.
- 27:43Let's see the talks between Trump and Putin.
- 27:47This came out at 2250.
- 27:49So the talks between Trump and Putin lasted for more than two and a half hours.
- 27:53The longest in-person meeting between the two leaders and surpassed their
- 27:58previous summit that they held in Helsinki in 2018.
- 28:02They talked even longer.
- 28:05And just 10 minutes later, President Putin already gave.
- 28:12They let President Putin speak first.
- 28:16Oh, my God.
- 28:17At the Pursuing Peace press conference, President Putin spoke first.
- 28:22He spoke for nine minutes and then Trump only spoke for three.
- 28:26And Putin did his typical, right?
- 28:28Well, not typical, but he wants people to understand the historic nature of
- 28:32this.
- 28:33My entire show that I did yesterday, which we may have to use tomorrow.
- 28:38I might go ahead and let this be used tomorrow.
- 28:41But you should be able to listen to it on internationalflavor.com even now, if
- 28:47you feel like it.
- 28:48And you can go out there and listen to it, because I talked about the allowing
- 28:53him to speak first.
- 28:57A lot of people are taking it as who's controlling the negotiation.
- 29:02This is Trump and not Putin.
- 29:03But I say it's Trump being a smart, smart person right here.
- 29:08Because everybody knows who Putin is the guest of.
- 29:11Everybody knows the historic picking of the Alaska in particular.
- 29:18I did a small history piece on the show last night as well, which was an extra
- 29:24show that I hadn't run, which I probably need to run.
- 29:26So I might do it tomorrow night.
- 29:27Have JR run that for you tomorrow night.
- 29:29Because the last 15 minutes of the show, I did a history of the swap of the
- 29:34territory and why it occurred from the Russian side who instigated that sale of
- 29:42Alaska.
- 29:44Because the frontier was too big for them.
- 29:46They already had gone coast to coast, basically, in Russia.
- 29:53What were they going to do?
- 29:55Keep going in America?
- 29:57They couldn't, and they couldn't keep it up.
- 29:58So Catherine the Great had some issues with that.
- 30:01And so you can listen to that history, or if you know about it, maybe Professor
- 30:05Mobbitt can give us some insights into that.
- 30:10It was a pretty good story anyway.
- 30:13And so President Putin described the talks as constructive and useful and that
- 30:19they were held in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
- 30:22And Trump pretty much echoed that.
- 30:25And he said, we haven't finalized anything.
- 30:27We're not sure where this is going to go.
- 30:29But, you know, they've given us a basic framework.
- 30:32But before he got there, Vladimir Vladimirovich said, our relations had sunk to
- 30:41the lowest point since the Cold War, said Putin, saying that the state of
- 30:46affairs is not good for either country or the world.
- 30:50That's what I've been saying forever.
- 30:52Not that I'm in charge here.
- 30:53I'm not.
- 30:54But even if you have the disagreement coming along about Ukraine and you have
- 31:00the disagreement between the countries, there are all kinds of other areas
- 31:04wherein we should be working, including nuclear arms control.
- 31:10And so I wouldn't surprise me, frankly, to hear something about nuclear arms
- 31:15control or steps to reenter some kind of a realistic arms limitations between
- 31:22these two countries again coming out of Alaska.
- 31:25Maybe that's something that they are giving up upon or that they are able to
- 31:28engage upon so that Ukraine seems a little less dramatic.
- 31:33And I think that's what's happened, as you see when we get through, continue
- 31:37through this timeline, because we're still on the 15 August timeline.
- 31:41We're still late in the night on the Greenwich Mean Time.
- 31:45Right.
- 31:46Oh, my meters aren't moving.
- 31:48What does this mean?
- 31:50I sure hope that they are and that they haven't just ceased to work.
- 31:55They seem OK.
- 31:56Everything appears to be working.
- 31:58Sometimes it looks like it just kind of times out a little bit.
- 32:01So I'm hoping that's not not a bad deal.
- 32:04But right at 11 p.m., Russia, according to Putin, Russia is generally
- 32:10interested in during the Ukraine conflict and ensuring that the resolution in
- 32:16Ukraine is a long term peace.
- 32:18Moscow hopes that the European capitals will not create obstacles.
- 32:23Or attempt to disrupt this anticipated progress, they said.
- 32:27And you know what?
- 32:29I really hope that to be true.
- 32:31Oops, I hope we're not experiencing technical difficulties here because I don't
- 32:37see them as as.
- 32:43I'm going to quit worrying about it, though, because it appears that the
- 32:47connection is OK voice wise.
- 32:49And it's just like the video on my screen might freeze up from time to time.
- 32:54And the last one on the night of the 15th, the last broadcast was Putin hopes
- 33:02that the agreements reached with Trump will pave the way for peace in the
- 33:07Ukraine conflict.
- 33:08And he thanked Trump for the candid tone of their conversations.
- 33:13And frankly, that needs to be mirrored.
- 33:16And nobody has given us any detail of what what what really has come out.
- 33:22And I've been paying attention this weekend trying to find anything.
- 33:25You get whispers, but nothing really from either side.
- 33:28There are plenty of articles to go through if I ever get through this timeline.
- 33:31So.
- 33:34They also said that Putin said he could confirm that if Trump had been
- 33:40president in 2022, there wouldn't have been any conflict in Ukraine.
- 33:46He said that he had tried to persuade Joe Biden not to bring the situation to
- 33:50the point where their confrontation would be inevitable.
- 33:54But that didn't work out.
- 33:55So now we have Putin playing diplomat.
- 33:58And given Trump what?
- 34:00Trump needs to get his kudos in order for this to work.
- 34:03You got to you got to kiss the butt of the leader of the free world.
- 34:08Vladimir Vladimirovich is doing it.
- 34:10So this is a positive thing.
- 34:13OK, then Trump says that the two men had a very productive meeting and many
- 34:18issues were discussed.
- 34:19They didn't achieve a full understanding.
- 34:21There was no deal yet.
- 34:22He didn't say, I have very good relations with President Putin.
- 34:27He wanted to make sure that people are aware of that from, you know, that he
- 34:31believes they have good relationships.
- 34:34Hell, does that mean more Russophobia?
- 34:37Does that mean more?
- 34:40I don't know what Putin or Trump is a is a puppet.
- 34:45I don't think so.
- 34:48I don't believe that to be true at all.
- 34:50That's the way people are trying to twist it afterward.
- 34:53A little bit later, Trump said that the most important thing is they had a
- 34:57decent chance to achieve peace.
- 34:58And he expressed hope to see Putin again soon and saying that the Russian
- 35:03president does want to end.
- 35:05Putin switched in English right here, which people have been talking about.
- 35:09And he invited Trump to Moscow for the next round of talks.
- 35:12Next time in Moscow, he said.
- 35:16And to Trump said that he could see that as possibly happening.
- 35:20And then the two presidents left to have their press conference to make
- 35:24statements without any questions from the media.
- 35:28And then.
- 35:30Now, from his point of view, Putin visited the Fort Richardson National
- 35:35Cemetery near Anchorage to honor Soviet pilots who died in Alaska while
- 35:40ferrying U.S. made aircraft to the Soviet Union under the land lease program
- 35:45during World War Two.
- 35:47And the president was filmed making a sign of the cross after laying flowers at
- 35:51one of the tombs.
- 35:53How do you like that?
- 35:57And so that came out pretty well.
- 35:59You know, that's a that's a strong deal.
- 36:02And taking some historic action while he is there to visit the graves of people
- 36:07buried jointly, recognizing the friendly nature of our countries is a good
- 36:15idea.
- 36:16Then brand new day, brand new day comes across.
- 36:19Alaska summit is a milestone in the emergence of a new world order and is a
- 36:24symbol of a changing era.
- 36:27This came from Soviet political commentator Sergei Polotaev.
- 36:33He said it showed the West no longer sets the rules.
- 36:37And that the world is becoming multipolar.
- 36:41And then at 20 and well, 20 GMT, which means midnight.
- 36:48In other words, just after midnight, Putin left Alaska.
- 36:52OK.
- 36:54And then then Trump greatly appreciates the results he gets on.
- 36:59It's on.
- 37:00According to Fox News, he said he would give a 10 when he has the comment of
- 37:05the outcome on these meetings at 10.
- 37:08So this is here comes the drama from the European side, because trust me, it's
- 37:13coming.
- 37:14The Kremlin described the talks as very positive.
- 37:17So the two parties who this war is all about, this war has nothing to do with
- 37:21Ukraine, by the way.
- 37:23This war has nothing to do with Ukraine, except this is who they've been using
- 37:28to, you know, continue the lives of the young men coming from Ukraine.
- 37:35This is horrific.
- 37:37And so, but it is still continuing.
- 37:39So Putin and Trump did not take any reporter questions in the press conference
- 37:45because the two leaders had provided exhaustive statements, said Kremlin
- 37:50spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
- 37:52And he said that this would allow us to confidently move forward together in
- 37:58seeking settlement options on the conflict.
- 38:01Right.
- 38:02So.
- 38:03Little while later, Putin and Trump agreed on a lot of points.
- 38:07So the U.S. president on Fox News, there's one or two pretty significant items,
- 38:12but I think they can be reached, he said.
- 38:14Now it's really up to President Zelensky to get it done.
- 38:21Right.
- 38:21And by 130, Greenwich Mean Time, only an hour and a half later, Trump described
- 38:26the summit as a warm meeting while calling his counterpart a strong guy.
- 38:32We're pretty close to it, he said, referring to the agreement that Ukraine is
- 38:37going to have to agree to it.
- 38:39Maybe they'll say no, because former U.S. President Joe Biden handed out money
- 38:45like it was candy and Europe gave him a lot of money.
- 38:49So he's he's starting to beat up on Zelensky when he was asked by Hannity what
- 38:55advice he would give to Zelensky.
- 38:56Trump said, make the deal.
- 38:59Now he's playing dealmaker, but nobody knows what the deal is.
- 39:04So ultimately, two hours afterward, here we are at 2 a.m. The the ultimate
- 39:09Ukrainian deal depends on not only on Zelensky, but on the European nations,
- 39:14said Trump, adding that they have to get involved a little bit.
- 39:18He did not rule out potential trilateral meetings involving Putin, Zelensky and
- 39:23himself.
- 39:23If they'd like, I'll be at that next meeting.
- 39:26They're going to set up a meeting now between Zelensky and Putin, he said,
- 39:30adding that he wants to make sure this gets done.
- 39:34Right.
- 39:36And then Russian officials, right after that, presented the U.S. with a list of
- 39:431000 Ukrainian service members that Moscow intends to release.
- 39:47Trump said that was agreed to today.
- 39:50Ukraine have to accept them and Russia will release them back to Kiev.
- 39:54Moscow accused Kiev of essentially refusing to take back hundreds of Ukrainian
- 40:00soldiers in Russian custody, noting that out of a thousand people, Ukraine took
- 40:05only two.
- 40:07So Trump is now saying you have to have to take it.
- 40:10Here we are.
- 40:12Trump signals right after that, that the U.S. is so far holding off on imposing
- 40:16new tariffs on Russia's trading partners because of what happened today.
- 40:21I think I don't have to think about that right now, Trump told Fox.
- 40:25I may have to think about it in two weeks or three weeks or something.
- 40:29We don't have to think about that right now.
- 40:31So tariffs are gone.
- 40:34Tariffs are gone against India, against China, against Brazil.
- 40:38Right.
- 40:39Allegedly, we don't know what the aftermath is going to be from that.
- 40:42So now three hours in, Trump suggested he could be in line for the Nobel Peace
- 40:47Prize if he helps broker peace in Ukraine, but insisted his past record already
- 40:52merits such recognition.
- 40:54Somebody said, if I get this settled, I'll get the Nobel Peace Prize, Trump
- 40:57said in an interview with Sean Hannity.
- 41:00I'm not involved in it.
- 41:02But what about the other six wars or whatever it is?
- 41:04I mean, those were big.
- 41:07I love how this guy talks.
- 41:10Some world leaders formally put his name forward for the honor.
- 41:13In 2025, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet nominated Trump for meeting a
- 41:18ceasefire in the border clash with Thailand.
- 41:21And Benjamin Netanyahu submitted the nomination citing diplomacy, if you want
- 41:29to call it that, in the Middle East.
- 41:31I disagree with that one.
- 41:33But that's OK.
- 41:35Who am I?
- 41:35I'm nobody important.
- 41:37Trump, a little bit later, Trump urged Ukraine's Zelensky to pursue negotiated
- 41:42settlement, describing the conflict as a terrible war where he's losing a lot.
- 41:49Trump said that ending the fighting would be a great achievement for them.
- 41:54Forget about me.
- 41:55Framing peace as primarily Ukraine's responsibility.
- 42:00He said that European nations must play a stronger role in the efforts to end
- 42:06the conflict.
- 42:06And now it's really up to Zelensky.
- 42:09And I would also say to European nations, they have to get involved a little
- 42:13bit.
- 42:13He said that a direct meeting, you know, that he might be there.
- 42:18You know, not that I want to be.
- 42:20I want to make sure that this gets done.
- 42:23So then came Trump downplayed the idea that Western pressure forced Putin into
- 42:31any sort of talks.
- 42:33I don't want to say anything forced him to the table.
- 42:36He's a very smart guy.
- 42:37Nothing brought him to the table, so to speak.
- 42:40Trump said adding that negotiations were progressing despite the conflict.
- 42:44Well, I thought that one was pretty interesting when you go from the drama
- 42:51side, because, you know, Trump, he is in charge of everything.
- 42:56Trump is to blame for anything good that occurred.
- 43:00And so for him to say that he didn't force these kind of talks, I mean, that's
- 43:10a concession right there.
- 43:13And then later, Melania Trump sent a personal letter to President Putin about
- 43:23Ukrainian and Russian children, which the U.S. President Trump delivered during
- 43:28the summit, said Reuters.
- 43:31The unnamed U.S. officials told the agency the letter focused on what they
- 43:35called the abduction of children during the conflict.
- 43:38Ukraine and its Western backers have accused Moscow of deporting Ukrainian
- 43:43children to Russia.
- 43:45Russia said any minors taken were evacuated from the conflict zone for safety
- 43:50reasons and would be returned to parents or legal guardians upon request, and
- 43:55that they already have done a whole bunch of those.
- 43:57So that issue is allegedly still out there.
- 44:00But the dream that this was some 20,000 kids is nonsensical.
- 44:06You know, they're saying that there's 28, 29, something like that.
- 44:10Some some crazy low number.
- 44:14Let's see.
- 44:15Trump said then, got to use this for every little chance that you can, right?
- 44:22Trump said that Russian President Putin echoed his claims of U.S. election
- 44:26fraud, telling him that mail-in ballots mean that votes could be rigged.
- 44:31In the interview with Sean Hannity, Trump said that Putin told him, here we are
- 44:37with he told me it is impossible to have mail-in voting and have honest
- 44:42elections.
- 44:43Well, I happen to agree with that.
- 44:45Maybe Putin should be running the country.
- 44:47Hmm.
- 44:48Trump used the remarks to repeat.
- 44:50That's a joke, by the way.
- 44:51Trump used his remarks to repeat his own allegation that America's voting
- 44:56system itself is corrupt.
- 44:58He argued that mail-in ballots allow multiple people to vote per person and
- 45:05undermine election integrity and affected the 2020 presidential race.
- 45:12Here we are.
- 45:13Well, four hours later, Trump is still running.
- 45:16He's still moving.
- 45:18Trump said he maintained a strong personal rapport with Putin and argued that
- 45:22the leaders could realize advanced U.S. Russia cooperation, if not for
- 45:27political turmoil in Washington.
- 45:29I have always had a great relationship with Putin, and we would have done great
- 45:34things together.
- 45:36Their land is incredible.
- 45:37Rare earth, oil, gas, everything.
- 45:40Trump said he blamed investigations into alleged Russian interference in 2016,
- 45:46and he repeatedly referred to that as a hoax.
- 45:50Well, I agree with him.
- 45:51I think it's all BS.
- 45:54But, you know, good to focus upon it and keep on going.
- 45:57A little while later, the Russian summit fully justified the motto, Pursuing
- 46:02Peace, said Russian State Duma Foreign Affairs Chair Committee person Leonid
- 46:09Slutsky.
- 46:10He called the meeting between Putin and Trump productive.
- 46:13Now Russia's waking up, right?
- 46:15And they got to start talking about this.
- 46:17It's 6 a.m., right, at the time these things are starting to come out in
- 46:21Russia.
- 46:22And he said that although no breakthrough was expected, the talks were a
- 46:31significant turning point, and Trump rated it 10 out of 10, said Slutsky, on a
- 46:36telegram.
- 46:37He said that Anchorage will go down in history as a milestone in bilateral
- 46:42negotiations, and still hopes that the next one takes place in Moscow.
- 46:48Then the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska was a joint success.
- 46:53The very fact of the meeting in Alaska, its tone and the outcome, are great
- 46:59joint successes to the two presidents.
- 47:02This is from a Russian Parliament upper chamber member, Konstantin Kasachov.
- 47:09If I've said his name right, it could be Kasachov.
- 47:12He added that Putin and Trump have both made a tremendous personal contribution
- 47:16to achieving the maximum possible result, and he underscored the significance
- 47:22of the talks at the military base.
- 47:25So that is good stuff.
- 47:29Where's the next one?
- 47:30Here we are still, early morning, where John Bolton comes out.
- 47:36Okay, now you want to talk drama.
- 47:39Talk about Miz Aho, who, again, he wants to go back to the 80s.
- 47:44Here's an 80s guy.
- 47:46Former U.S. National Security Advisor Bolton said that Putin emerged stronger.
- 47:54So now we're starting to get all the NBCs of the world, all the stuff coming
- 48:00out that we want it to be.
- 48:04Talk about how poorly Trump did.
- 48:06That's what we're supposed to do, right?
- 48:08We're supposed to be against him.
- 48:10And he argued that Moscow met its goals and Washington gained little.
- 48:16Well, he don't know.
- 48:17He wasn't even there, and who knows what they were trying to get to.
- 48:21So I think Trump did not lose, but Putin clearly won, said Bolton.
- 48:29On CNN, of course, Trump didn't come away with anything except more meetings.
- 48:34Putin has gone a long way to establishing the relationship, which I've always
- 48:40believed was his key goal.
- 48:42He said that Putin avoided sanctions or ceasefires, while Trump achieved very
- 48:48little and claimed the U.S. leader looked very tired there.
- 48:51Very tired, not disappointed, tired.
- 48:55The Bolton relationship has been underscored by years of mutual criticism.
- 49:00The American leader dismisses Bolton as overly hawkish, and Bolton accuses
- 49:06Trump of prioritizing personal politics over national security.
- 49:12I suppose there could be echoes of that for both of them, but I don't know.
- 49:17I don't like Bolton coming out and claiming we didn't get anything out of that.
- 49:20If we get this war over, Trump gets a lot, right?
- 49:27The White House had said, we made some great progress today.
- 49:30We had an extremely productive meeting, and many points were agreed to, right?
- 49:35That was after the Bolton thing.
- 49:38And the White House shared a photo of Trump meeting Putin during the talks, and
- 49:44they showed him from the aircraft, the F-22 fighter jets escorting the plane
- 49:49carrying Russian President Putin was shown as well.
- 49:53And let's see.
- 49:57Then the Hungarian foreign minister, Peter Szijjarto, says in his dialogue, he
- 50:05posted something on X.
- 50:07The world is a safer place as long as there is a U.S.-Russia dialogue at the
- 50:12highest level, he said.
- 50:14Credit to both of them for making this summit happen.
- 50:18Today once again confirmed the war in Ukraine will not be settled on the
- 50:23battlefield, but at the negotiating table.
- 50:27That is actually, you know, quite true.
- 50:30Mr. Szijjarto, I don't know if I said that right, but foreign minister of
- 50:37Hungary needed some discussion in there.
- 50:43Then all day on the 16th, all freaking day, that they were going to, they were
- 50:51talking about what comes next, right?
- 50:54Regular consultation on normalization is coming from the Russian side.
- 51:00Darchaev is a guy named, he was Russia's ambassador to Washington, Alexander
- 51:07Darchaev.
- 51:08That, you know, hopefully more comes of this, and that people start to work
- 51:16together.
- 51:17And I think it will.
- 51:19I think something positive will come of this.
- 51:21Hopefully the peace, but hopefully more even as a result of that, I think would
- 51:26be just fantastic.
- 51:28Let's see here.
- 51:31Let's make sure that our connections are still going pretty well, and that the
- 51:36voice is coming through because the video feed terminated one more time, and I
- 51:41just get paranoid when that happens.
- 51:43So we want to make sure that everything is coming through okay.
- 51:47So right after this, this part of the morning is where things started to get
- 51:51interesting, because now Trump spoke by phone with Zelensky shortly after the
- 51:59meeting.
- 51:59Okay, now that news is coming out and hitting the airwaves, if you will.
- 52:07Early on the 7 a.m. basically, Greenwich Mean Time on the 16th, and so we are a
- 52:16full 10 hours later, I suppose, after the meetings took place, that he has
- 52:22spoken to them.
- 52:23The timing of the meeting between Putin and Trump, you know, and where they're
- 52:29going to meet next, and whether it involves Vladimir Zelensky, was not raised.
- 52:35And so that needs to come about some more.
- 52:38An hour later, Trump and Zelensky held a one-on-one call Friday before Western
- 52:44European leaders joined the discussion Ukraine's presidential office has
- 52:49reported.
- 52:49And then the leaders of France, Germany, Britain, Italy, Finland and Poland
- 52:54took place along with Ursula von der Leyen, whoever appeared.
- 53:03So now he has given them some information, but we still don't know what it is.
- 53:08And then Zelensky reported quickly on his telegram channel that he was going to
- 53:13Washington on Monday to discuss all the details, and he had a long and
- 53:17substantive conversation with Trump.
- 53:20By telephone, okay?
- 53:23And then there was an Axios guy named Barack Ravid said, citing a source
- 53:30familiar with the conversation.
- 53:33He said Trump spoke with Zelensky for an hour.
- 53:37On X he reported this.
- 53:40On the line as well were Secretary of State Rubio, White House Envoy Wittoff.
- 53:45Afterward, the leaders of UK, France, Italy, Germany, blah, blah, blah, all
- 53:48those people are mentioned.
- 53:50The source of the call between Trump said that the call wasn't easy, I assume
- 53:56for Zelensky to listen to, is what I think.
- 54:02And then Viktor Orban jumps in.
- 54:05The world is a safer place now that the leaders of the two biggest nuclear
- 54:09superpowers have resumed top-level diplomatic relationships, said Viktor Orban.
- 54:16He said, his post said, for years we've watched two biggest nuclear powers
- 54:21dismantle the framework of their cooperation and shoot unfriendly messages back
- 54:26and forth.
- 54:27That has come to an end.
- 54:29Today, the world is a safer place than it was yesterday.
- 54:33Make every weekend be at least as good, said Viktor Orban.
- 54:37Well, it's hard not to echo those things, and I think that something should
- 54:43occur from the point of view of nuclear safety.
- 54:48Of course, I'm a little biased in that because that's the realm that I worked
- 54:53in all those years ago that we pretty much dismantled unilaterally.
- 54:58Then, a little bit later, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called an impromptu
- 55:04cabinet meeting to discuss the results of the summit with his ministers, said
- 55:09Bild, from anonymous sources.
- 55:12Fifteen minutes after that, ambassadors from every EU member state are going to
- 55:17convene for an extraordinary meeting Saturday to discuss the bloc's next step
- 55:23after the summit, says Politico.
- 55:25The ambassadors were reportedly asked to meet about the restricted format
- 55:32without their aids and telephones in an effort to avoid leaks.
- 55:37I know what they're going to do, so things are getting interesting, aren't
- 55:39they?
- 55:40And then Trump announced that after his summit with Putin and following phone
- 55:44calls with leaders, he will be pursuing a permanent peace agreement in Ukraine
- 55:48and not just a temporary ceasefire.
- 55:51Now, this is huge.
- 55:53This is what I've been saying forever.
- 55:54This means that in their talks that Putin finally got it across to him that,
- 56:03hey, I'm not agreeing to 30 days.
- 56:07I will agree to an end of the conflict.
- 56:10Let's end it.
- 56:11But I'm not going to agree for 30 days so you can rearm people.
- 56:15And so what does Trump do?
- 56:17He calls it a mere temporary ceasefire, and he's telling everybody, nope,
- 56:22that's not going to happen.
- 56:23We're not going to rearm.
- 56:24And he said it was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war
- 56:33between Russia and Ukraine is go directly to a peace agreement which would end
- 56:38the war and isn't mere ceasefire agreement, which do not hold up.
- 56:45You realize how huge that is?
- 56:47Then you got Lindsey Graham, crying Lindsey Graham.
- 56:53You know, this guy's worthless.
- 56:56The Ukraine conflict, here's him, knife into Trump, right?
- 57:03This guy's a fair-weather friend for sure.
- 57:08You know, the Ukraine conflict could be wrapped up by Christmas, according to
- 57:14him.
- 57:15If Putin and Trump meet with Selensky for a trilateral summit, said Senator
- 57:20Lindsey Graham.
- 57:22Now, how positive is this a-hole, right?
- 57:25He suggested that Trump will have to impose severe consequences on Russia and
- 57:30its trading partners if the meeting does not happen.
- 57:35Yeah.
- 57:36So we see whose side Lindsey Graham is on.
- 57:39He is on the side of his own pockets.
- 57:41He's on the side of continued war, and he is on the side of the military
- 57:48-industrial complex.
- 57:49In his post says, if there is a bilateral meeting between Trump and Selensky
- 57:56and Putin, then I'm cautiously optimistic this war will end well before
- 58:01Christmas.
- 58:02If the meeting doesn't happen, I think Trump may have to deliver severe
- 58:07consequence to Putin.
- 58:09Yeah.
- 58:11Graham, who backs Ukraine, obviously, has urged the U.S. to supply record
- 58:16amounts of arms to Kiev, from long-range missiles to more F-16s.
- 58:21Earlier this year, he's the one who introduced the 500% sanction.
- 58:28Yeah.
- 58:29So we know where he's going.
- 58:31We know where he will be.
- 58:32Just like Putin, he will never change his underwear.
- 58:35He will stay in the same spot where he's going, right?
- 58:39Trump, he changes.
- 58:41He at least listens.
- 58:42He's flexible.
- 58:44But he changes his mind a lot.
- 58:46And right now, his mind is on the right side.
- 58:48We shall see whether the old green goblin or whether the old Graham convince
- 58:57him to go another way.
- 58:59Then Western European leaders issued their own statement.
- 59:03Uh-oh.
- 59:04Uh-oh.
- 59:05While they welcomed Trump's efforts to stop the killing and to achieve a just
- 59:10and lasting peace, they made clear the EU and the UK will continue pressing for
- 59:16NATO's membership in EU and NATO.
- 59:20The statement insisted Ukraine must have ironclad security guarantees, no
- 59:24limitations on Ukraine's armed forces or cooperation with third countries.
- 59:28Russia cannot veto Ukraine's path to EU and NATO.
- 59:33Ooh.
- 59:34So we think that that's going to be what we know.
- 59:38It's one of the things that Russia is going to want.
- 59:40Then Robert Fico from Slovakia has welcomed the talk between Trump.
- 59:45He said he argued that someone rejected this black and white view and a single
- 59:51mandatory opinion, which is everybody has to have on the conflict, and
- 59:57vigorously promoted by the Biden administration and continued to be advocated
- 1:00:02upon by the European Union.
- 1:00:05He said the Ukrainian conflict has its historical roots and we must speak
- 1:00:09equally about security guarantees for Ukraine and for the Russian Federation.
- 1:00:15Fico warned that the EU's unsuccessful strategy is to continue trying to weaken
- 1:00:22Russia through this conflict by all possible means, including incredible
- 1:00:28financial, political, or military assistance to Kiev.
- 1:00:33And that Trump's approach reflects clear American pragmatism and support for
- 1:00:40America's interests.
- 1:00:43How about that?
- 1:00:45India welcomes the summit between Trump and Alaska, saying that the statement
- 1:00:50is highly commendable.
- 1:00:51But the official spokesperson for the government says India welcomes the summit
- 1:00:56in Alaska.
- 1:00:58India appreciates the progress.
- 1:01:00The way forward can only be through dialogue and diplomacy, and the world wants
- 1:01:04to see an end to the conflict.
- 1:01:07So the smart people are backing Trump, Putin, right?
- 1:01:12But Keir Starmer, here he comes.
- 1:01:14Keir Starmer, British prime minister, welcomes the peace efforts, calls for
- 1:01:19Ukraine's Vladimir Zelensky to be involved in the next phase, and he promises
- 1:01:25to keep tightening the screws on the Russian economy.
- 1:01:29Yeah, it's working real well for you so far.
- 1:01:32And then Italian prime minister Giorgio Moloni expressed hope for a possible
- 1:01:36peace deal.
- 1:01:38A glimmer of hope finally opens for discussing peace in Ukraine, he said.
- 1:01:44President Macron jumps on board.
- 1:01:46He said that Paris will work with its European allies to provide unwavering
- 1:01:52security for Ukraine.
- 1:01:54I welcome in this regard the readiness of the U.S. to contribute.
- 1:01:59We will work on this with them and with all our partners in the coalition of
- 1:02:04the willing.
- 1:02:05Still wants to point out that we're willing to fight for Ukraine or let Ukraine
- 1:02:09fight to the death, right?
- 1:02:12And the Finnish prime minister thanks Trump for his phone call with the Western
- 1:02:17leaders.
- 1:02:18Strong, credible security guarantees should be offered to Ukraine.
- 1:02:22Finland will join NATO in 2023.
- 1:02:26So obviously that's not a threat to Russia.
- 1:02:30German Chancellor Merz welcomes Trump's efforts and Ukraine can count on
- 1:02:35unwavering solidarity as we work toward a peace that safeguards Ukraine and
- 1:02:42Europe's vital security interests.
- 1:02:44Yeah.
- 1:02:46All you want to do, you want Ukraine for yourselves and that's what's going on.
- 1:02:52But you're not willing to put up any blood, just money of your people.
- 1:02:55Hopefully you get some crumbs that are left over.
- 1:02:59Western European leaders have been invited to the upcoming meeting between
- 1:03:03Trump and Zelensky for Monday.
- 1:03:05Some more drama, right?
- 1:03:07And then, following the Alaska summit, Trump believes the best way to quickly
- 1:03:11negotiate peace in Ukraine is for Kiev to cede to Moscow all parts of the
- 1:03:16Russian territories in the Donbass under Ukrainian control.
- 1:03:20So says the New York Times, citing anonymous officials.
- 1:03:25Well, it's going to have to be a part of it.
- 1:03:28U.S. president crazy-issued Western European allies on Saturday, said the
- 1:03:32outlet.
- 1:03:35It breaks from a strategy Mr. Trump, European allies, and Mr. Zelensky had
- 1:03:42agreed to before the summit, it said.
- 1:03:45Earlier in the day, U.S. president said the best way to end the war between
- 1:03:49Ukraine and Russia is to go straight to a peace agreement, not the ceasefire.
- 1:03:56All these geniuses are finally starting to say the correct thing, but they
- 1:04:00don't like it.
- 1:04:03Putin describes the, now he's back at home now, and said that the summit was
- 1:04:09very useful.
- 1:04:10We have not held direct negotiations for any level.
- 1:04:12He reiterated some of the things he said about the root causes of getting rid
- 1:04:18of it.
- 1:04:18Turkey jumps on board.
- 1:04:21Turkey says there's new momentum to ending the Ukrainians' conflict, said
- 1:04:26Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
- 1:04:29In a post on X, he expressed hope for this new process, and Zelensky's
- 1:04:35participation to lay the foundation for lasting peace in Turkey is ready to
- 1:04:41provide all kinds of contribution to the establishment of peace.
- 1:04:48Then Zelensky.
- 1:04:50Here we are, not even 24 hours later, and Zelensky says he refuses to cede to
- 1:04:58Moscow any parts of the Russian territories that then come to the Donbass still
- 1:05:03under Ukrainian control.
- 1:05:07But maybe he's willing to consider the front lines then.
- 1:05:11That seems rather interesting and possible, don't you think?
- 1:05:16Following talks in Anchorage, the president said that he would be pursuing full
- 1:05:20peace, not a mere ceasefire, and he talked about these land swaps.
- 1:05:24The Nordic and Baltic nations release a joint statement.
- 1:05:30Leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and
- 1:05:34Sweden demand that Ukraine not be forced to downsize its military or be limited
- 1:05:40in its cooperation with other countries, including regarding its NATO bid.
- 1:05:44They insist Ukraine and Western European nations should be part of the process.
- 1:05:49So now they're making demands to the old Trumpster, and daddy has to maybe
- 1:05:54issue some spankings in this regard.
- 1:05:57No decisions on Ukraine without Ukraine, and no decisions on Europe without
- 1:06:02Europe.
- 1:06:02Oh yeah, you believe Ukraine to be Europe now.
- 1:06:06That's right.
- 1:06:08Crazy, crazy, crazy.
- 1:06:13Let's see.
- 1:06:13During the call with Zelensky and European leaders, now we are almost to 8 p
- 1:06:18.m., almost 24 hours later, right?
- 1:06:22During a call with Zelensky and European leaders following the Alaska summit,
- 1:06:27Trump said he wants to hold the trilateral meetings fast, and now we get to
- 1:06:32August 22.
- 1:06:34We get to this coming Friday.
- 1:06:37So Zelensky shows up on Monday, and we will see what kind of forcing happens
- 1:06:42here.
- 1:06:43Then Putin told Trump Friday he was willing to discuss security guarantees for
- 1:06:48Ukraine and mention China as one of the potential guarantors.
- 1:06:53Hmm, that could be interesting.
- 1:06:55Don't you think?
- 1:06:56Lavrov, meanwhile, is back home, held a phone call with his Turkish counterpart
- 1:07:00to discuss the outcome of the settlement.
- 1:07:04Then again, we have Hungarian Minister Peter Cezary who expresses hopes talks
- 1:07:09in Ankara will pave the way for peace.
- 1:07:12Okay.
- 1:07:14We hope yesterday's talks in Alaska will open the way to peace.
- 1:07:18At the same time, we trust this will not end as it did three and a half years
- 1:07:21ago when Western Europeans torpedoed the Istanbul peace agreement.
- 1:07:28The process launched in Alaska must not be derailed.
- 1:07:34You know, good for you, Peter Cezary.
- 1:07:38Good for you, Hungary.
- 1:07:42Yes.
- 1:07:42So what happens?
- 1:07:43Lavrov calls him and says, hey, here's an ally.
- 1:07:47We need to get together.
- 1:07:48So that news came out a little bit later.
- 1:07:52Then in the last show, this live feed, which came about on the 16th, this is
- 1:08:01when they ended the tracking of this.
- 1:08:04Trump told European leaders, this is full 24 hours after the effect, Trump told
- 1:08:10all the European leaders that he hopes to hold a summit with Putin and Zelensky
- 1:08:15by Friday, although it is contingent on how his talks go with Zelensky on
- 1:08:21Monday, says CNN.
- 1:08:24European officials also expect at least one leader of the EU to join the
- 1:08:28Washington meeting, although they don't know.
- 1:08:30Now it says, I think we know that most of them do plan to show up.
- 1:08:37So this one, I tell you what, this was a high level talks that came about.
- 1:08:45I'm still very curious, but I'm very, very much following the drama of it all.
- 1:08:53We haven't seen drama like this in a while, have we?
- 1:08:58And so everybody's headed now to Washington.
- 1:09:01Zelensky and the European leaders are all headed to Washington so the drama can
- 1:09:05continue.
- 1:09:07Russian President Putin has convened his meeting of the government and senior
- 1:09:12officials in Moscow to brief them on the outcome of the meetings.
- 1:09:17Donald Trump welcomed the opportunity to meet face-to-face.
- 1:09:20Trump said it was a difficult call with Zelensky.
- 1:09:24And Putin is, you know, hopeful.
- 1:09:28Russian delegation, they talked about all that.
- 1:09:31So we already knew all of that information.
- 1:09:33Nothing new from there.
- 1:09:37So there's plenty to be very happy about, in my opinion.
- 1:09:45And I think that it's about damn time for Trumpster to put an end to this
- 1:09:52thing.
- 1:09:53And I think there's a strong possibility of that.
- 1:09:58I think it could actually occur.
- 1:10:01And if it does, I think Trump needs to take a great deal of credit for that, is
- 1:10:09what I think.
- 1:10:11I think that Trump, if he does pull this off, it will be one of the
- 1:10:20biggest and brightest feathers in his cap.
- 1:10:24That's what I say.
- 1:10:26And I think he may actually pull this off.
- 1:10:32But I've been positive before, only to have the carpet tugged right out from
- 1:10:40underneath me.
- 1:10:43It does happen from time to time where we are going to settle something and
- 1:10:50then it doesn't end up getting resolved at all, does it?
- 1:10:54And so since then, we've still had a little bit more drama, right?
- 1:11:00We had the, where is it?
- 1:11:06This 18 hours ago.
- 1:11:08So now we're fully two days in, right?
- 1:11:11So Germany's Mertz says, the EU and UK shouldn't overestimate their own
- 1:11:20influence on the settlement in Ukraine as the US will play the lead role in the
- 1:11:27peace process, said Mertz.
- 1:11:31Possible ways to resolve the conflict between Russia and UK topped the agenda,
- 1:11:36German Chancellor told German broadcaster ZDF that their talks have begun on
- 1:11:43settling Ukraine.
- 1:11:44They will continue on Monday when Zelensky is expected in Washington.
- 1:11:48But Mertz warned that Western Europe must not overestimate ourselves.
- 1:11:54European unity is important, but the decisive role in this war will continue to
- 1:11:59be played by the US.
- 1:12:02Trump has the power both militarily and with appropriate sanctions to influence
- 1:12:07Russia, he claims.
- 1:12:10Well, he knows he doesn't have it.
- 1:12:12The good news that came from Alaska, according to him, is that there are no
- 1:12:16territorial negotiations between Putin and Trump over the heads of the Ukraine
- 1:12:20and the Europeans, he said.
- 1:12:23They want that.
- 1:12:23They want those eastern parts of Ukraine back because they're the richest, you
- 1:12:32know, elementally, you know, everything.
- 1:12:35Uranium, coal, gas, everything over there that they can take possession of, if
- 1:12:44at all possible.
- 1:12:46So, I don't know.
- 1:12:50Excuse me.
- 1:12:53With all the drama going on afterward, you can usually find out what they've
- 1:12:58said before, but there's still no, and I suppose we won't know until Monday,
- 1:13:03what the actual content of these things were.
- 1:13:07But the news is all reporting, even in Ukraine, that the leaders of France,
- 1:13:13Germany, and Britain are in a panic, you know, and they continue to want to do
- 1:13:19exactly what they've always done, blindly back Zelensky.
- 1:13:23Maybe they can send Boris Johnson over there again to throw a monkey wrench
- 1:13:27into the, any sort of peace talks.
- 1:13:30But as Americans, we should be tired of this bullshit, and get it over with.
- 1:13:36And I hope Trump forces this issue.
- 1:13:40So, Ukrainians backers in the EU and UK are in a panic.
- 1:13:44Putin and Trump, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:13:46Now, Dmitryev, Russian president was described by Dmitryev as having frank and
- 1:13:53substantive and a warm relationship with Trump.
- 1:13:58Now, does Zelensky have any of that?
- 1:14:01No.
- 1:14:02Zelensky's got nothing.
- 1:14:03He's got to go into US and be afraid of not getting beat up again by Vance and
- 1:14:10Trump this time.
- 1:14:12So, Dmitryev, who is the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and was
- 1:14:17among the country's delegation on the ground in Alaska, said on Telegram on
- 1:14:21Sunday that European and British supporters of the conflict are all in a panic
- 1:14:25because diplomatic efforts by Moscow and Washington.
- 1:14:29He said that links to a report by Politico, which states the Western European
- 1:14:34leaders are anxious, you know, is actually to be taken as true.
- 1:14:41According to the outlet's sources, they plan to send Alexander Stubb of Finland
- 1:14:47to Washington and hopefully prevent any flare-ups between Trump and Zelensky
- 1:14:52and convince the US president to include Europe because they're not being
- 1:14:58included.
- 1:14:59But Putin reiterated on Saturday, any settlement has to eliminate root causes,
- 1:15:06and that is NATO demilitarization and recognition of the territories, right?
- 1:15:13So, we have that, and then Zelensky rejected Trump's push, as I already said.
- 1:15:20Then there was a meeting.
- 1:15:22Where did Zelensky fly?
- 1:15:23I forget, but he is, you know, meeting all kinds of European leaders now.
- 1:15:31Ukraine's Zelensky and several leaders are due in Washington.
- 1:15:35Zelensky announced on Saturday that he would be traveling to the US, and on
- 1:15:39Sunday, Ursula von der Leyen said in a post that she and several other leaders
- 1:15:44would be joining Zelensky at his request to meet with Trump because obviously
- 1:15:51he's not going to win in that regard, you know, any sort of concession, so he
- 1:15:55told what to do.
- 1:15:56Meanwhile, several US officials claim that considerable progress has been made,
- 1:16:03and there's Ukrainian officials fear a repeat of February's Oval Office clash
- 1:16:10between Zelensky, Trump, and Vance.
- 1:16:14Unfortunately, there is indeed such a risk, said Nikolai Beloskov of the
- 1:16:19Ukrainian National Institute for Strategic Studies, who added that Trump now
- 1:16:24believes it's Ukraine that should make major concessions for peace.
- 1:16:28Well, yeah, you're losing.
- 1:16:31Ugh.
- 1:16:33Zelensky is in an impossible bind ahead of the meeting with Trump in
- 1:16:37Washington.
- 1:16:38He risks either provoking Trump's anger or accepting a peace deal involving
- 1:16:43territorial concessions.
- 1:16:45This, according to Bloomberg, this is the existential dilemma confronting the
- 1:16:49Ukrainian leader as he travels to Washington for talks with the US president
- 1:16:54Monday, said the outlet.
- 1:16:56Trump has left Zelensky little room to maneuver.
- 1:17:03The little green goblin, there's already talk about him being removed anyway,
- 1:17:08and, you know, that's inevitable, right?
- 1:17:14Witkoff came out.
- 1:17:16Now, I was very interested in his opinions, and he came out a little while ago,
- 1:17:21said that Donald Trump's envoy claims that Moscow made a significant shift in
- 1:17:26its demands during Alaska.
- 1:17:28Well, tell us what they are, damn it.
- 1:17:31I hear all this, but all I'm hearing so far is drama.
- 1:17:34And so he says that Russia is ready to make certain concessions, including land
- 1:17:40swaps with Ukraine, says Witkoff.
- 1:17:44It's probably, like I said, Sumy, Kharkov, and Dnepropetrovsk regions.
- 1:17:51Who knows?
- 1:17:51But maybe something like that in order to get what they want.
- 1:17:54But I know that Russia will not give up on the four territories, nor Crimea,
- 1:17:59but nobody's even mentioned Crimea anymore.
- 1:18:02That suddenly became a given since 2014.
- 1:18:05Anyway, so Witkoff told CNN Sunday that during the Alaska summit, the Russian
- 1:18:12delegation made some concessions at the table with regard to all five regions,
- 1:18:18which are Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk, and all former Ukrainian territories, which
- 1:18:26are now part of Russia.
- 1:18:27According to the official, Kremlin appears ready to conduct land swapping with
- 1:18:33the current front line, serving as the starting point in some areas.
- 1:18:37Witkoff said that Moscow's demands have undergone a significant shift.
- 1:18:43On Saturday, the New York Times and Fox News, citing anonymous Europeans,
- 1:18:48claimed that Trump endorses a specific peace plan that means Ukraine will cede
- 1:18:55the whole Donetsk and Lugansk, and Moscow agree to cease hostilities upon the
- 1:19:00current front lines in Zaporizhia and Kherson.
- 1:19:03So we shall see.
- 1:19:06The Kremlin hasn't said anything on this yet.
- 1:19:09And officially, Moscow is insisting that Ukraine recognize Crimea, Donetsk,
- 1:19:15Lugansk, Zaporizhia, Kherson as Russian territory.
- 1:19:18But in his CNN interview, Witkoff touted a game-changing agreement by Russia to
- 1:19:26robust security guarantees.
- 1:19:29So maybe, you know, we shall see.
- 1:19:32He said it's akin to Article 5 being provided to Ukraine by the US.
- 1:19:37Who knows?
- 1:19:39Hmm.
- 1:19:40Explaining Trump's endorsement of a comprehensive peace deal as opposed to a
- 1:19:44temporary ceasefire, Witkoff said it was due to a significant headway achieved
- 1:19:49during the Alaska Peace Summit.
- 1:19:51We shall see.
- 1:19:53I hope so, because then it should be Witkoff getting the Nobel Peace Prize and
- 1:19:59not Trump, because Witkoff has been talking about this forever.
- 1:20:03Actually, Trump will get it anyway, you know, I think.
- 1:20:06But Witkoff, if he's able to pull this off, he's been realistic and vocal and I
- 1:20:15don't know what.
- 1:20:16A true negotiator, not just this somebody going over to Russia to prove who's
- 1:20:20got the bigger appendage, you know, to say, here's what we're going to do, you
- 1:20:24know, the Lindsey Grahams of the world, in other words.
- 1:20:30Let's see.
- 1:20:32Here was an interesting article.
- 1:20:34This one.
- 1:20:36See, silence or secrecy?
- 1:20:39What Putin and Trump aren't saying in Alaska.
- 1:20:43It says, the blockbuster without an ending.
- 1:20:47The Alaska Summit and what comes next.
- 1:20:51Okay.
- 1:20:52Now, I'm not sure I can get through this entire thing, but we're going to give
- 1:20:56it a run.
- 1:20:57Okay.
- 1:20:58Because it's a good article.
- 1:21:00It's a very good article.
- 1:21:02And I think it should be paid attention to because it's correct on top of that.
- 1:21:11Ready?
- 1:21:11Although the conversation was cordial, there was no deal.
- 1:21:15That's the essence of the American or the Alaskan Summit.
- 1:21:19The meeting on Friday was warm, but instead of agreements, there was a press
- 1:21:23conference, a canceled lunch, and very little clarity about what was achieved.
- 1:21:29Participants and insiders haven't disclosed any specifics.
- 1:21:34What is known is that Putin and Trump agreed on most parameters of a deal with
- 1:21:38few unnamed sticking points.
- 1:21:41A preliminary truce may have been discussed, territorial exchanges or not.
- 1:21:48The Americans still hope to pull Ukraine's Zelensky into the process with a
- 1:21:54trilateral summit, but no date set.
- 1:21:57Perhaps it is now, but by asking next time in Moscow, Putin drew a smile, but
- 1:22:04Trump dodged, saying that he would only face heavy criticism if he win.
- 1:22:09Well, that's not what they were saying beforehand.
- 1:22:10They said there was going to be a couple.
- 1:22:12The first there would be a U.S. one and then a Russian one, and then all of a
- 1:22:15sudden it changed.
- 1:22:17So I'm wondering about that as well.
- 1:22:20The near total absence of any detail can be read in two ways.
- 1:22:24Nothing was really agreed upon.
- 1:22:26The agenda, slim right from the start, could suggest that, or just as possibly,
- 1:22:32the Kremlin and the White House have reached their understanding, but are
- 1:22:36keeping it under wraps to prevent third parties from sabotaging it.
- 1:22:41The EU, Zelensky himself.
- 1:22:45Either way, the outcome was satisfactory to both of the leaders.
- 1:22:49Trump can now indefinitely postpone a disastrous trade war with India and
- 1:22:54China, which secondary sanctions on Russia would have triggered.
- 1:22:59Putin can drive home the point that a temporary ceasefire is insufficient.
- 1:23:03Time has come to talk about full peace.
- 1:23:07I agree.
- 1:23:09Trump's comments after the summit suggest Washington has quietly accepted the
- 1:23:14Russian framework, meaning end it.
- 1:23:16No ceasefire.
- 1:23:18This marks departure from Ukraine, Western European line of first a truce,
- 1:23:22first a ceasefire, then peace.
- 1:23:25This is smart, people.
- 1:23:27If Trump actually achieved this, get rid of the war.
- 1:23:31Get yourself your Nobel Peace Prize.
- 1:23:33If it's about you, I don't necessarily believe it is.
- 1:23:36I really believe he does want to stop the killing.
- 1:23:38But it will lead to it if you can pull this off.
- 1:23:41And I think it should be pulled off because the idiots that are still pushing
- 1:23:45your administration into war, you know, Lindsey Graham yet again.
- 1:23:52The next move is Zelensky's move right now.
- 1:23:55He has his one card to play.
- 1:23:58And in Anchorage, Putin and Trump agreed on the core terms of a deal.
- 1:24:03Then the person who has to accept it is this guy.
- 1:24:06And if not, the U.S. needs to remove him.
- 1:24:08They put him in power.
- 1:24:09Let them remove him.
- 1:24:11On Monday, Zelensky travels to Washington to meet Trump.
- 1:24:14There are two paths possible out of there.
- 1:24:16First, Zelensky can dig in with Europe.
- 1:24:20Without European backing, he would panic, refuse the terms, and repeat his
- 1:24:24February 28 crybaby deal with Trump.
- 1:24:26That would sharply sour U.S.-Ukraine relations even further and could lead
- 1:24:31Washington to abandon because Marco Rubio has made that threat just recently.
- 1:24:38Second and more likely scenario is this, his delay.
- 1:24:42Zelensky will float his alternative plan.
- 1:24:44Maybe he'll get back on the circuit heading to places like Sweden, Finland,
- 1:24:49anywhere else, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, off to Germany, off to Belgium.
- 1:24:54He can talk to these people about his peace plan, about his victory plan.
- 1:24:58We got to put Russia in its place.
- 1:24:59They need more sanctions.
- 1:25:00He's already talked about that, right?
- 1:25:02He wants a three-way summit with Trump, Putin, and himself.
- 1:25:07But the calculation is simple.
- 1:25:08Moscow refuses to speak directly to Kiev until there's already a U.S.-Russian
- 1:25:13framework.
- 1:25:13But now, there could be.
- 1:25:16But how Trump reacts will be determined this pace.
- 1:25:18He has leverage over both Kiev and Brussels.
- 1:25:21If he wants to end the war, he must use this leverage.
- 1:25:26If not, the talks will stall yet again, and the catastrophic battlefield
- 1:25:31collapse by Ukraine will continue, because that's happening, friends and
- 1:25:36neighbors.
- 1:25:38Minsk, Moscow, or nowhere.
- 1:25:40I'm in Minsk right now, just to point out.
- 1:25:42It's a beautiful place.
- 1:25:44The sun is just coming up here.
- 1:25:47If a trilateral meeting does occur, now remember, Trump called Lukashenko this
- 1:25:54past couple of days.
- 1:25:55I've been trying to talk to people here about what they think it is, but they
- 1:25:58don't talk about him here.
- 1:26:00Lukashenko has already extended the invitation to Trump.
- 1:26:03Both Putin and Zelensky can reach the Belarusian capital easily for the
- 1:26:07Kremlin.
- 1:26:07Such a summit would serve one purpose, to corner Zelensky collectively and
- 1:26:11force him to accept what's already been decided.
- 1:26:15But this is all speculation, of course.
- 1:26:18A diplomatic blockbuster is in progress, so the Alaska...
- 1:26:22You know what, I'm going to find out after here, though.
- 1:26:24I have press credentials.
- 1:26:25I'm going to go try to get in.
- 1:26:26So the Alaska summit ended without a treaty, without even a date, but it ended
- 1:26:31without acrimony, without confrontation, with both leaders claiming
- 1:26:35satisfaction.
- 1:26:36That alone makes it extremely significant for Trump.
- 1:26:39It is meant as a relief from an impending trade war that he doesn't want to be
- 1:26:43part of, and a step toward reshaping Washington's approach to Russia, which
- 1:26:48needs to happen anyway.
- 1:26:50For Putin, it signaled that the U.S. president is willing to bypass Western
- 1:26:55Europe and more directly to the question of peace.
- 1:26:59As ever, the decisive variable is the Green Goblin.
- 1:27:04Trump has placed the future of negotiations in Zelensky's hands, but he's
- 1:27:09pushing warnings, which I'll get to in just a second.
- 1:27:12We might be able to get to a couple.
- 1:27:14But Zelensky, boxed in by Western European partners in his own political
- 1:27:18survival, will prefer to stall.
- 1:27:20If he does, U.S.-Ukrainian ties will suffer.
- 1:27:24If he hesitates, Washington will move on without him.
- 1:27:27Either way, the Alaska summit is not an end, but a beginning, a first act in
- 1:27:32what promises to be a long and unpredictable diplomatic blockbuster with all
- 1:27:37the drama that we'll share right here on internationalflavor.com, where the
- 1:27:43truth just tastes better.
- 1:27:46Hmm, I kinda like that.
- 1:27:48That ended up pretty well.
- 1:27:49Gonna give myself a hint.
- 1:27:51But let's get to Rubio real quick, and then I'll end this up.
- 1:27:54The conflict will get worse if Kiev does not agree to a peace deal with Moscow,
- 1:27:59said Marco Rubio.
- 1:28:02U.S. does not, does not intend to force Ukraine into a peace settlement, but
- 1:28:08Kiev needs to realize the conflict is gonna get worse if it isn't resolved.
- 1:28:12U.S. Trump, Trump president, said the warring parties were pretty close to the
- 1:28:16end following the summit of his Russian counterpart, Putin.
- 1:28:20He noted that Ukraine has to agree to any peace deal.
- 1:28:25Rubio told CBS on Sunday, there's no condition that can be imposed upon
- 1:28:29Ukraine.
- 1:28:29It's up to Ukrainians.
- 1:28:31Well, I note he said Ukrainians and not the Green Goblin.
- 1:28:35We shall see, but it's clear after three and a half years, they want it done
- 1:28:38too, by the way, that this war is getting worse.
- 1:28:41It's not getting better.
- 1:28:42It's only going to get worse, he said.
- 1:28:44For the bloodshed to come to an end, both Ukraine and Russia are gonna have to
- 1:28:49give.
- 1:28:50Both sides should expect to get something from this.
- 1:28:53He acknowledged it's a very good thing, or a very difficult thing to do, and
- 1:28:57they may find some of the results distasteful.
- 1:29:02So, I don't know, people.
- 1:29:05I hope that you can agree with me that this war needs to end, and I really
