- 0:24Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:29Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 0:32Speaker 1: Trade Trendhold. Today it is Thursday, February six, two thousand
- 0:38Speaker 1: twenty five. We are going to revisit a little bit
- 0:47Speaker 1: more of the Luka Doncitz trade drama. And I'm looking
- 0:51Speaker 1: forward to that because while at some points this week
- 0:56Speaker 1: I said I didn't care and it was true, then
- 1:00Speaker 1: they've pulled me back in and I care again, and
- 1:02Speaker 1: I'm going to share more thoughts with you today. But
- 1:06Speaker 1: first we're going to revisit the game of verses that
- 1:11Speaker 1: we played yesterday inside the Treehouse. Yesterday on the show,
- 1:15Speaker 1: I asked you, Trey and Raj, would you rather have
- 1:21Speaker 1: your soulmate or one million dollars? And the both of you,
- 1:26Speaker 1: the both of you said, without even thinking about it,
- 1:30Speaker 1: I'm not even sure if Trey, you let me finish
- 1:32Speaker 1: the question. You said, give me the cash. Yeah, And
- 1:39Speaker 1: I realized that I didn't even give you the context
- 1:44Speaker 1: and the reason that I even asked you the question
- 1:46Speaker 1: in the first place. Okay, I appreciate you letting me
- 1:50Speaker 1: give it to you, because I don't think it's going
- 1:52Speaker 1: to change anything I answer. I just want to give
- 1:56Speaker 1: you the context for how it is I came up
- 2:01Speaker 1: with the question to pose to you guys. And that
- 2:07Speaker 1: is a new service called a million dollar match Making
- 2:11Speaker 1: promises to find your soulmate in under a year for
- 2:15Speaker 1: the low low price of one million dollars. It's no
- 2:19Speaker 1: surprise that this is a Los Angeles based matchmaking service
- 2:26Speaker 1: and it's a twelve month program. The price tag covers
- 2:31Speaker 1: the salaries of three people. So here's what you get
- 2:37Speaker 1: for one million dollars of matchmaking services. Okay, number one,
- 2:44Speaker 1: you get a dedicated recruiter. Just one slightly different word
- 2:54Speaker 1: choice there, and we're talking about the taken for sequel. Yeah, anyway,
- 3:02Speaker 1: in the twelve month program, that one million dollars covers
- 3:05Speaker 1: the salaries of three people. Here's what you get for
- 3:07Speaker 1: that million dollar match making service, Number one, a dedicated recruiter.
- 3:12Speaker 1: They'll fly all around the country to visit bars, gyms, concerts,
- 3:16Speaker 1: and other spots to find you your perfect match. You
- 3:20Speaker 1: get unlimited matches with full background checks. Wow, that is
- 3:27Speaker 1: truly special. We've heard of headhunters for you know, corporate jobs.
- 3:38Speaker 2: And if she's my soulmate, Amen, brother, Amen.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Number two a matchmaker. Of course, the matchmaker. They'll help
- 4:00Speaker 1: you make sure you're paired with the right people and
- 4:03Speaker 1: also plan out your dates in minute detail. You do
- 4:08Speaker 1: none of the legwork. Okay. Number three, you get a
- 4:11Speaker 1: dating coach. They will work with you and your dates
- 4:14Speaker 1: on things like clothes, hair, and dating etiquette. I don't
- 4:22Speaker 1: know if they mean your dates, like the date itself
- 4:27Speaker 1: or the person you're going on a date with. It's
- 4:31Speaker 1: got to be the date, not the person, because I
- 4:36Speaker 1: can't imagine anyone being turned on by your dating coach
- 4:39Speaker 1: critiquing them.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Then number one, yeah, I agree with you.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Then number four, if you get engaged less than six
- 4:49Speaker 1: months after the program ends, they'll toss in a three
- 4:53Speaker 1: carrot engagement ring. So now, what do you think about
- 5:02Speaker 1: one million dollars or your soulmate.
- 5:09Speaker 2: In the macro? Oh?
- 5:11Speaker 3: Yes, if you have a million dollars to waste on this,
- 5:18Speaker 3: then it's sad because you could find your soulmate any
- 5:22Speaker 3: night you wanted.
- 5:24Speaker 2: And or and and and In.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Reality, all you could go pay go find a hot
- 5:32Speaker 3: chick to be your wingman for one hundred grand a
- 5:35Speaker 3: year plus you pay all the nights out and everything,
- 5:38Speaker 3: and she could sniff out the good ones the bad
- 5:40Speaker 3: ones and set you up, and.
- 5:45Speaker 2: You could do it for a lot cheaper.
- 5:46Speaker 3: And then also, if you have a million dollars to
- 5:48Speaker 3: spend a three carrot ring, really that's.
- 5:54Speaker 1: You.
- 5:54Speaker 3: You're if you got that kind of cash, you're you're
- 5:56Speaker 3: you're buying more than three carrots.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Well, I mean it depends on you know, the color
- 6:01Speaker 1: the cut declared?
- 6:02Speaker 2: Is it lab grown?
- 6:04Speaker 1: Something else to consider, because what your soulmate? You know,
- 6:08Speaker 1: I if you're okay with lab grown, you got to
- 6:10Speaker 1: make sure your soulmate's okay with lab grown. The it
- 6:15Speaker 1: is interesting, I'll put it that way. The million dollar matchmaking.
- 6:22Speaker 1: They're only taking on three clients though, so you're gonna
- 6:26Speaker 1: get some dedicated service for your million dollars and they
- 6:35Speaker 1: then they've already got over one hundred people applied.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I mean, are they doing a reality show around this too.
- 6:46Speaker 1: There's no mention of it, but it sounds very much
- 6:49Speaker 1: like it will be, or at the very least should be.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it reeks of it, because again I don't if
- 6:57Speaker 3: you have that kind of cash and you're that lonely,
- 7:03Speaker 3: there are bigger issues at play.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I really think finding romance on television ended with flavor
- 7:10Speaker 1: flav m H. I don't know if anyone could ever
- 7:15Speaker 1: do it better, so why bother.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Hard to argue that one.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So anyway, again, the million dollar matchmaking service, they're only
- 7:30Speaker 1: choosing three people for it. They've already had over one
- 7:33Speaker 1: hundred people apply on just day one of them taking applications.
- 7:40Speaker 1: One of the things they do offer free free advice
- 7:43Speaker 1: that they offer if you want to, you know, go
- 7:45Speaker 1: out on your own, they say, dress nice for your
- 7:49Speaker 1: next flight. Airports are another spot where they will be
- 7:52Speaker 1: looking to recruit dates because a lot of business travelers
- 7:55Speaker 1: are just sitting there with tons of time to kill,
- 7:58Speaker 1: so it's a good place for recruiters to strike up conversations.
- 8:02Speaker 3: So and what what are do you get your money
- 8:05Speaker 3: back if they don't find your soulmate?
- 8:10Speaker 2: I don't believe so.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I don't think there's a there's a money back guarantee
- 8:16Speaker 1: on this.
- 8:21Speaker 2: But they guarantee they'll find you your soulmate.
- 8:23Speaker 1: They guarantee it. Now, that's and that's the interesting thing.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Again.
- 8:27Speaker 1: It's a million dollars and they're only taking on three clients,
- 8:29Speaker 1: so they get to choose which people they think they
- 8:32Speaker 1: will have the best chance at finding a soulmate. The
- 8:35Speaker 1: thing is, though, how do you even know it's a
- 8:38Speaker 1: soulmate in you know, in the immediate because we all
- 8:42Speaker 1: have infatuation, we have crushes at first. It may not
- 8:44Speaker 1: be a soulmate. You just may have a huge crush
- 8:47Speaker 1: on this person. The idea of whether or not someone
- 8:49Speaker 1: is a soulmate you may not find out for thirty
- 8:51Speaker 1: forty years, and this company will have folded long before then.
- 8:54Speaker 3: All they're gonna do is they're gonna find three tech
- 8:56Speaker 3: nerds that have no social skills, dress them up. It's
- 9:00Speaker 3: gonna be like, can't buy me love? And you know
- 9:06Speaker 3: they're gonna dress him up, make him look nice and say, hey,
- 9:09Speaker 3: that's your girl.
- 9:10Speaker 2: And you go, okay.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Secretly they've taken half a million of the dollars that
- 9:16Speaker 1: you've given them and given it to her just to
- 9:18Speaker 1: play the part.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Or the other route is you go through the year
- 9:24Speaker 1: long process as the recruiter and you realize this person
- 9:27Speaker 1: is impossible and you just buy them a really expensive,
- 9:31Speaker 1: you know, squishy AI robot. No, you just say, this
- 9:36Speaker 1: is your soulmate.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Remember Harlem Knights, Go find Sunshine.
- 9:48Speaker 1: You're listening to the Treehouse.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Visit us online at Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Time now to get Daniel Cook from Cookdift Roofing and
- 10:00Speaker 1: Restoration into the Treehouse for your free roof inspection. Give
- 10:04Speaker 1: him a call eight three three Cook DFW the website
- 10:07Speaker 1: cookdfw dot com. Daniel, you and I have talked for
- 10:11Speaker 1: a long time now, and I appreciate our talks. But
- 10:14Speaker 1: even now you can surprise me. I had no idea
- 10:19Speaker 1: you could finance a roof. It's a good thing, especially
- 10:23Speaker 1: if for some reason insurance is not involved and you
- 10:26Speaker 1: don't have you know, twenty thirty forty thousand dollars just
- 10:29Speaker 1: lying around. Maybe you want to explore some options and
- 10:32Speaker 1: you guys have that ability.
- 10:34Speaker 5: Yeah, Dan, we brought that on a couple of years back,
- 10:37Speaker 5: and believe it or not, it really has helped some
- 10:40Speaker 5: folks protect their home, make sure it doesn't leak, and
- 10:44Speaker 5: keep it from having large, large expenses from interior and
- 10:48Speaker 5: attic problems. So the financing is there. We have a
- 10:51Speaker 5: unique link on our website you can go you put
- 10:55Speaker 5: your information in. It actually is a soft inquiry, so
- 11:00Speaker 5: it doesn't hit your credit with a hard you know
- 11:03Speaker 5: credit hit that some people are scared of, and it
- 11:05Speaker 5: gives you, you know, five, six, eight options that whichever
- 11:09Speaker 5: one helps you the best. So it gives you different terms,
- 11:11Speaker 5: gives you different interest rates, different payments. Some of them
- 11:15Speaker 5: are zero interest for a certain amount of time, so
- 11:17Speaker 5: you may qualify for paying it out and you don't
- 11:20Speaker 5: have to worry about interest. So all kinds of options there,
- 11:22Speaker 5: And it also helps with deductibles. Everybody's deductibles are high
- 11:26Speaker 5: right now. They're ten thousand dollars, eighty five hundred dollars.
- 11:30Speaker 5: I saw one yesterday it was seventeen thousand dollars. So
- 11:33Speaker 5: these helps, you know, so if you have to pay
- 11:35Speaker 5: out your deductible, it gives you a perfect, you know,
- 11:37Speaker 5: option of doing.
- 11:38Speaker 1: That as well. Yeah, so it's great. So that way
- 11:41Speaker 1: you have that piece of mind that even if you
- 11:44Speaker 1: can't afford that deductible or you can't afford the cash
- 11:47Speaker 1: payment of a whole new roof, you got options when
- 11:50Speaker 1: you get a hold of cook DFW Roofing and Restoration.
- 11:53Speaker 1: So do that, do yourself a favor. Do that right now,
- 11:55Speaker 1: go to cookdfw dot com or call for that free

- 12:34Speaker 1: Back inside the Treehouse now. I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 12:37Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm. On Thursday, February sixth, twenty twenty five, Sunday morning,
- 12:41Speaker 1: we all woke up to learn that the Dallas Mavericks
- 12:44Speaker 1: had made a blockbuster trade, sending Luca Donchetz to the
- 12:47Speaker 1: Los Angeles Lakers, and.
- 12:49Speaker 2: You woke up to it.
- 12:50Speaker 3: I experienced real time reaction at work when the news
- 12:55Speaker 3: started filtering in.
- 12:57Speaker 2: That was about midnight.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Uh Were you happy where you said? Or sort of indifferent?
- 13:04Speaker 3: When I first heard the news, I was. I was shocked,
- 13:10Speaker 3: and you know, probably at that point sad and dismayed
- 13:19Speaker 3: that the MAVs seemingly we're giving up.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I too was shocked, but I was quickly indifferent because
- 13:33Speaker 1: I am in a sports funk. I will absolutely freely
- 13:35Speaker 1: admit it. I am in a sports funk. My favorite
- 13:37Speaker 1: teams have been disappointing me lately. And by teams, I
- 13:41Speaker 1: mainly mean the Cowboys. The Stars. Stars are a great organization.
- 13:45Speaker 1: They're doing well. They're always competitive. The Rangers have a
- 13:48Speaker 1: free pass for a while because they finally won a
- 13:50Speaker 1: World Series. I'm happy with them.
- 13:51Speaker 3: The Rangers have a lifetime free pass now, I mean
- 13:54Speaker 3: I have they Yeah, I got and win a World Series.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Yeah, But the we're just kind of there.
- 14:02Speaker 2: You know.
- 14:02Speaker 1: They were competitive, and I was indifferent to it because
- 14:06Speaker 1: I was just mad at how the Cowboys that made
- 14:09Speaker 1: me feel. And then the MAVs in one fails suite
- 14:13Speaker 1: managed to turn me against the organization. Now about it
- 14:18Speaker 1: because because I thought it was so ridiculous, I laughed
- 14:20Speaker 1: about it and then quickly said I choose not to care.
- 14:23Speaker 1: But after after a careful analysis and being inundated with
- 14:27Speaker 1: press conference videos and sound bites and things, I am
- 14:30Speaker 1: now joining the throngs of fellow MAVs fans who are
- 14:32Speaker 1: pissed off. So I'm gonna share this with you real quick. Trade.
- 14:38Speaker 1: This was did you see any of the press conference
- 14:41Speaker 1: that the Lakers had with Luca on Monday.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I did not.
- 14:46Speaker 1: The audio here is not as essential as Luca's face.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Watched Luca's face as Lakers management is talking about the
- 14:53Speaker 1: trade that brought Luca to the Lakers, look at his face.
- 14:57Speaker 2: This opportunity to us and then staysed.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Of all to Luca is looking down. He looks lost,
- 15:03Speaker 1: He looks shell shocked. He is wearing a sweater pulled
- 15:09Speaker 1: over a button down shirt. He looks like a psychology student,
- 15:12Speaker 1: not an NBA superstar. He might be a little hungover
- 15:17Speaker 1: that that also is certainly a possibility.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Luka Mexic, Kleeber and Markeith Morris become members of our team.
- 15:30Speaker 1: So he looks like a man who just got dumped.
- 15:35Speaker 1: And that's exactly what happened. And it's probably the first
- 15:39Speaker 1: time in his life he's ever been dumped romantically or professionally.
- 15:43Speaker 1: And it's a lot to take in. And we you
- 15:46Speaker 1: and I tre we've been dumped. It's happened to the
- 15:48Speaker 1: rest of the world, but this is probably the first
- 15:50Speaker 1: time that has happened to Luca. Lucky for him, we
- 15:55Speaker 1: have experience in being dumped. We can now offer him
- 15:59Speaker 1: professional and this may be our only opportunity trade because
- 16:03Speaker 1: we don't have any NBA experience to offer him, but
- 16:06Speaker 1: we have life experience. So here's what he can do. Now,
- 16:10Speaker 1: tell me if you disagree with any of this. A
- 16:13Speaker 1: Luca don just got dumped by the Maps and he
- 16:16Speaker 1: was stunned and shocked by it. He wasn't expecting it,
- 16:18Speaker 1: right mm hm. So what he needs to do now
- 16:20Speaker 1: is what all of us should do when we get dumped.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Number one, go get you some therapy, get right in
- 16:25Speaker 1: the head, become a better version of yourself mentally. Then
- 16:29Speaker 1: you go get that revenge body. You look better than
- 16:33Speaker 1: you've ever looked before. Number three. After you get that
- 16:37Speaker 1: revenge body and your head's in the right space, then
- 16:40Speaker 1: you go take some thirst trap photos and you post
- 16:42Speaker 1: those all across social media, showing the Maps what they're
- 16:44Speaker 1: missing out on. Then you ball out and go get
- 16:46Speaker 1: a trophy showing them further what they've missed out on.
- 16:49Speaker 1: That's what Luca needs to do to get over this breakup,
- 16:54Speaker 1: because if we're being honest and I have experience with this,
- 16:57Speaker 1: the best revenge is living your best life without them well,
- 17:03Speaker 1: and we the fans will be left in the middle
- 17:07Speaker 1: to awkwardly cheer for you.
- 17:09Speaker 3: So, as far as you know, getting dumped and you're
- 17:12Speaker 3: right about those things. However, if I think they thought
- 17:16Speaker 3: Luca could get that beach bod, they probably wouldn't have
- 17:19Speaker 3: traded him. But let's not because sometimes when we get dumped,
- 17:22Speaker 3: we then forget we were miserable with that person, and
- 17:26Speaker 3: all of a sudden we romanticize who that person was
- 17:30Speaker 3: and all their good We remember all their good qualities.
- 17:32Speaker 2: We forget they're bad. Let me remind you of something
- 17:35Speaker 2: with Luca.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Okay, so this is, by the way, every which by
- 17:40Speaker 1: the way, everything you just said is one thousand percent accurate.
- 17:44Speaker 1: This is especially especially if you were the one that
- 17:46Speaker 1: got dumped.
- 17:47Speaker 3: This is after I believe Game three of the Finals.
- 17:53Speaker 3: This is Brian Windhorst on Sports Center with Scott Van Pelt.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Brian Winhorse is the lead NBA analyst covers the NBA
- 18:01Speaker 3: for ESPN Dallas.
- 18:03Speaker 1: This is their first time on this stage.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Luca and Kyrie combined for actually more than Tatum and
- 18:09Speaker 3: Brown did, but Luca fowls out late.
- 18:10Speaker 1: I just wonder your reaction to that whole sequence.
- 18:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I thought it was perfect that Luca fell onto
- 18:18Speaker 6: the ground there in an unacceptable position to put himself
- 18:21Speaker 6: in with four minutes left with five fouls, and then
- 18:23Speaker 6: immediately looks at the bench and says, you better bleeping
- 18:26Speaker 6: challenge it, as if it's the bench's fault that he
- 18:29Speaker 6: just made a terrible play. I'm standing here in the
- 18:31Speaker 6: Mavericks tunnel. Over there is the Celtics tunnel. That's where
- 18:34Speaker 6: the winners are. If Lucas ever going to be a
- 18:36Speaker 6: winner coming out of this tunnel here, he is going
- 18:38Speaker 6: to have to use this have what's happened in this
- 18:40Speaker 6: finals as a learning experience. His defensive performance is unacceptable.
- 18:45Speaker 6: He is a hole on the court. The Celtics are
- 18:47Speaker 6: attacking him. They are ahead in this series because they
- 18:49Speaker 6: have attacked him defensively. And you've got a situation here
- 18:53Speaker 6: where Luca's complaining about the officiating. They have begged him,
- 18:56Speaker 6: they have talked with him, they have pleaded with him.
- 18:58Speaker 6: He is costing his team because of how he treats
- 19:00Speaker 6: the officials. He's a brilliant player, he does so many
- 19:02Speaker 6: things well. They are here because how he did. His
- 19:05Speaker 6: performance in this game is unacceptable and the reason why
- 19:08Speaker 6: the Mavericks are not going to win.
- 19:11Speaker 1: How dare you, Trey, how dare you throw facts and
- 19:14Speaker 1: figures and game tape in my face right in front
- 19:18Speaker 1: of my feelings?
- 19:20Speaker 3: Well, you know, sometimes we just need a reminder that
- 19:22Speaker 3: our ex wasn't as great as we have you know
- 19:25Speaker 3: now that we got dumped.
- 19:27Speaker 2: There were there there were some problems in the relationship.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but we could have worked the room. If just given,
- 19:35Speaker 1: just given a chance.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Leve will conquer all.
- 19:47Speaker 7: In the Treathouse this online, Treathouse on Air dot com.
- 20:06Speaker 7: Visit us online dot com.
- 20:10Speaker 1: If you think the Treehouse Show is funny, then you
- 20:13Speaker 1: really need to check us out on social media. Give
- 20:16Speaker 1: us a follow for more fun and laughs at Treehouse
- 20:20Speaker 1: on Air across all the major social media platforms. That's
- 20:24Speaker 1: at Treehouse on Air on social media. I'm Danil Malley
- 20:28Speaker 1: along with Trade Trenholme. Back inside the Treehouse. Trade, do
- 20:35Speaker 1: you remember being bored very much as a kid?
- 20:39Speaker 2: Sure?
- 20:41Speaker 1: What did you do about?
- 20:46Speaker 3: I mean usually go outside and play? I mean if
- 20:52Speaker 3: you could.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Uh, that's all I need. Yeah, that's all I need.
- 20:57Speaker 2: For now.
- 20:58Speaker 1: We are now set up. Okay, we are now set
- 21:01Speaker 1: up for a generational beat down. All right, here we go.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Teens are overwhelmed by boredom. And there's one big reason.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Why can you guess that reason? Trey?
- 21:21Speaker 2: They don't play outside. They've learned all the video games.
- 21:26Speaker 1: That's part of it. Phones, screen time, okay, screen time,
- 21:37Speaker 1: and social media. So screen time is sort of the
- 21:40Speaker 1: big umbrella. Social media is a big chunk of underneath
- 21:44Speaker 1: that umbrella. Young people are more bored than ever before,
- 21:49Speaker 1: and social media apps meant for entertainment and engagement is
- 21:53Speaker 1: one of the culprits. His sixteen year old spoke to
- 21:57Speaker 1: Yahoo News said that he used to be excited to
- 21:59Speaker 1: go home after school and do homework. Now he's chronically bored.
- 22:03Speaker 1: He says he watches the clock count by in class
- 22:06Speaker 1: or dreads his family's digital detox days on which he
- 22:10Speaker 1: craves his cell phone. Screen time, he said, is his
- 22:13Speaker 1: crutch for boredom. So when he's bored, that's when he says,
- 22:16Speaker 1: he reaches for his phone. He'll scroll through Instagram, TikTok
- 22:21Speaker 1: and the other social media apps to see what his
- 22:24Speaker 1: friends are up to. But then that leads to late
- 22:26Speaker 1: night doom scrolling that affects his sleep. He even says,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I don't even remember what I'm seeing honestly, as soon
- 22:33Speaker 1: as I'm off my phone, I feel horrible and ashamed.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Citing survey data from the organization Monitoring the Future, Yahoo
- 22:40Speaker 1: News reported that boredom is on the rise among tweens
- 22:43Speaker 1: and teens. Forty five percent of high school seniors responded
- 22:47Speaker 1: they agreed or mostly agreed with the statement I am
- 22:50Speaker 1: often bored, and these numbers just keep going up. A
- 22:57Speaker 1: marriage and family therapist says that boredom is just the
- 23:02Speaker 1: intolerance of it. She says a lot of it is
- 23:04Speaker 1: due to the constant screen use and having that ability
- 23:07Speaker 1: to avoid boredom with the screen. Boredom is the seed
- 23:10Speaker 1: of creativity, but when people are avoiding boredom all the time,
- 23:14Speaker 1: they never need to create, learn a skill, do art,
- 23:18Speaker 1: or go outside and make friends. I still remember the
- 23:24Speaker 1: time I went to my mom and said, Mom, I'm bored.
- 23:28Speaker 1: You want to know what my mom's response was When
- 23:30Speaker 1: I told her I was bored, she said, why don't
- 23:32Speaker 1: you go bang your head against a wall. In hindsight,
- 23:37Speaker 1: I'll be not the best advice because I'm pretty sure
- 23:39Speaker 1: that's what I did, and that may be the reason
- 23:41Speaker 1: I have so many head issues as an adult. But
- 23:44Speaker 1: it served its purpose. She made a solid point at
- 23:47Speaker 1: the time, a solid hard point that was, you know,
- 23:51Speaker 1: I don't want to hear it, go do something about it.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Well, I know growing up there, if I ever went
- 23:58Speaker 3: to my parents and said I'm bored, the number one
- 24:01Speaker 3: thing they would say is you need to learn to
- 24:03Speaker 3: entertain yourself.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Yep. And that's what my mom was saying. When you
- 24:08Speaker 1: said you're bored, go bang your head against a wall.
- 24:10Speaker 1: That's the same thing, just with more specific you know.
- 24:13Speaker 3: At best, when I, you know, early teens, I had
- 24:18Speaker 3: a e fing atari. Other than that, you had to
- 24:21Speaker 3: go outside and play, run around, do something, you know.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I remember at one point I had one of those
- 24:31Speaker 3: nets where you could throw the baseball at it and
- 24:33Speaker 3: it would bounce back at you, you know, and.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you e you ever break it? I broke mine?
- 24:39Speaker 3: No, But uh that's they don't.
- 24:46Speaker 2: I've seen it firsthand.
- 24:47Speaker 3: They literally it's if they're not online, they have they
- 24:52Speaker 3: have no clue what to do.
- 24:54Speaker 1: It's it's astonishing to me because I forget where this
- 24:58Speaker 1: story was. I'd have to do some quick googling. I
- 25:02Speaker 1: don't know if it was during a power outage or
- 25:04Speaker 1: if it was an internet outage either way. The internet
- 25:07Speaker 1: was down in some neighborhood and the kids all kind
- 25:11Speaker 1: of mosied outside like it was the walking dead and
- 25:15Speaker 1: they've never seen the light of days like and they
- 25:19Speaker 1: didn't know what to do. And I think back very
- 25:23Speaker 1: fondly of my childhood when it comes to all the
- 25:27Speaker 1: things I was able to do. And we talked about
- 25:30Speaker 1: this a couple of weeks ago. It's like, Oh, if
- 25:31Speaker 1: you could play with one toy from your childhood as
- 25:34Speaker 1: an adult, what would it be. And I said, I
- 25:36Speaker 1: occasionally will still see like rocks and stuff outside and think, ooh,
- 25:40Speaker 1: that make you a good Gi Joe battlefield. But I
- 25:43Speaker 1: really do well think back fondly as my time as
- 25:45Speaker 1: a kid and think, I really don't ever recall really
- 25:47Speaker 1: being actually bored because I had so much to do.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I had a Nintendo at one point, a Sega, I
- 25:53Speaker 1: had a Nataria at one point, and not necessarily all
- 25:55Speaker 1: at the same time, but that's just a video games.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Then I had books, cartoon books, comic book type stuff.
- 26:03Speaker 1: I had G I Joe action figures, I had ThunderCats,
- 26:07Speaker 1: I had the starting lineup football figurines, the Little Green
- 26:09Speaker 1: Army Man had it all I think back on it now,
- 26:12Speaker 1: and I kind of wish I had all that stuff
- 26:14Speaker 1: because I know I would never be bored again.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Now, did you actually have that stuff or did your
- 26:19Speaker 3: parents just tell you that you had that stuff after
- 26:21Speaker 3: you were baying your head against the wall.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Wow, you really opened my eyes, Tray. Now I don't
- 26:30Speaker 1: know what's real and what was just poet's concussion imagining.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I also had stars and birdies as pets. They just
- 26:41Speaker 1: blew herround my head. Oh, I mean that explains the pony.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Corny thought was your friend.
- 26:52Speaker 8: Uh, you know, I'm just I'm just gonna go.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Now.

- 27:47Speaker 1: to advertise right here inside the Treehouse. Dan and Trey
- 27:52Speaker 1: with you today inside the Treehouse. Thursday February six, twenty
- 27:57Speaker 1: twenty five. We were just talking about how team are
- 28:00Speaker 1: overwhelmed by boredom these days, and I was just fondly
- 28:05Speaker 1: remembering my childhood and how much fun I was able
- 28:09Speaker 1: to have inside or outside. And I even forgot about
- 28:13Speaker 1: my teenage mutant ninja turtle figurines. I had lots of
- 28:15Speaker 1: good stuff as a kid.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Man.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Well, one of the things I just kids do not
- 28:20Speaker 3: do nearly as much as we used to is ride
- 28:23Speaker 3: their bikes.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I mean, you know, you're right kind to think of it.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I don't really recall seeing kids out riding bikes. I mean,
- 28:34Speaker 1: I see plenty of fifty year old men in spandex
- 28:37Speaker 1: riding bicycles that I wish I wouldn't.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Well, and now you see them on the electric bicycles
- 28:43Speaker 3: that are basically like scooters. But you know, that was
- 28:48Speaker 3: one thing if you were bored, you got on your bike,
- 28:49Speaker 3: you started riding around, see if you saw some friends, whatever,
- 28:53Speaker 3: and you know, go screw around.
- 28:56Speaker 2: It's just they are so glue, uh.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Go, so glued to screens and that, Yeah, they're helpless
- 29:10Speaker 3: without them.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's important that I think parents need to a
- 29:14Speaker 1: stop coddling their kids. And that's not a new thing.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I think that's true for every generation. Each generation that
- 29:19Speaker 1: comes seems to be guilty of the previous generation of
- 29:23Speaker 1: coddling their children too much. But I really think that's
- 29:26Speaker 1: the case. These days, they need to be able to
- 29:28Speaker 1: learn consequences and mistakes and things, and they also need
- 29:32Speaker 1: to learn how to use their legs. They need to
- 29:34Speaker 1: learn how to go outside and do things and do
- 29:36Speaker 1: things for themselves instead of relying on their parents to
- 29:39Speaker 1: do it. Because then that way, that makes you a
- 29:42Speaker 1: well rounded adult. So that way you don't end up
- 29:46Speaker 1: on a having hobbies that are considered the least attractive
- 29:50Speaker 1: according to women. See that that right there is what
- 29:53Speaker 1: we call a segue here in the biz. So, uh yeah,
- 29:56Speaker 1: thank you. The least attractive male hobbies according to women. Trey,
- 30:02Speaker 1: what do you think? What do you think some of
- 30:04Speaker 1: those would be least attractive male hobbies according to women?
- 30:10Speaker 2: Hunting?
- 30:19Speaker 8: Uh?
- 30:19Speaker 1: That actually is not on here, so uh Trey harder.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Oh wait, actually taxidermy did make the list, So yeah,
- 30:26Speaker 1: there you go. And I don't think it's the hunting part.
- 30:28Speaker 1: I think it's more the taxi do.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:30Speaker 1: I think I think a lot of women, especially especially
- 30:32Speaker 1: in our great state of Taxes, are fine with you
- 30:34Speaker 1: hunting they just don't want you, you know, uh, you know,
- 30:36Speaker 1: cleaning and dressing the things in the kitchen, because then
- 30:41Speaker 1: they think you're gonna, you know, be a serial killer.
- 30:43Speaker 2: At least attractive male hobbies.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Think of all the things, Trey, you would not be
- 30:49Speaker 1: caught doing.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I'm just drawing a blank right now.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Maybe that's a good thing. Some of the worst culprits
- 31:02Speaker 1: some of the least attractive male hobbies according to Women,
- 31:04Speaker 1: in addition to taxidermy, model trains. Okay, gambling, that's something
- 31:11Speaker 1: you do.
- 31:12Speaker 2: I no, I do not anymore. Actually, really, you've.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Given up booze and gambling.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much gave up gambling when I gave up booze.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Don't they tell you not to give up too much
- 31:22Speaker 1: it once? It's dangerous?
- 31:24Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you know gamblings another way. You know, it's
- 31:31Speaker 3: but you haven't enough women. No, but when you have
- 31:35Speaker 3: an addictive personality, gambling certainly feeds right into it.
- 31:38Speaker 2: And you know, as they are now.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Now someone's trying to start a class action lawsuit against
- 31:45Speaker 3: the gambling companies.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Uh, good luck with that.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:49Speaker 1: So the other least attractive male hobbies according to Women,
- 31:54Speaker 1: online bullying, slash trolling, chicks are all so not into
- 32:00Speaker 1: magic tricks, collecting figurines like funk Co pops, starting lineups,
- 32:06Speaker 1: and maybe sporting memorabilia stuff like that. That's something that
- 32:10Speaker 1: someone just got to watch out for and number one
- 32:12Speaker 1: of the least attractive hobbies for men according to women.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Video games. I still as an adult, I still play
- 32:23Speaker 1: video games. My wife's not a big fan of it,
- 32:25Speaker 1: but I grew up playing them. And I've also seen
- 32:29Speaker 1: scientific studies that say it's good for our brains to
- 32:32Speaker 1: play video games. And I'm gonna die on that hill.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I mean, and you know, the controller in my hand,
- 32:38Speaker 2: that's a sad thing.
- 32:39Speaker 3: I have not had a gaming system since a sega,
- 32:42Speaker 3: and same principle as drinking and gambling is I'm so bad.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Maybe as an adult this far in my life I
- 32:52Speaker 3: could I could handle it, but for years I always
- 32:54Speaker 3: knew that if I got a game and I got
- 32:55Speaker 3: really into it, like I would stay up too late,
- 32:59Speaker 3: lose sleep and other if that functions in my life
- 33:02Speaker 3: would would suffer.
- 33:05Speaker 1: There is precedence here. You can still be wildly successful
- 33:09Speaker 1: and still be in the video games. The best example
- 33:12Speaker 1: is Elon Musk. Not only is he the richest man
- 33:15Speaker 1: in the world. But he's also the number one ranked
- 33:16Speaker 1: Diablo video game player in the world. Really, now, all
- 33:23Speaker 1: of his employees work one hundred and twenty hour weeks
- 33:25Speaker 1: and dog cuss him left and right, but you know
- 33:27Speaker 1: he's fine.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Now, So I've given you the least attractive hobbies for
- 33:33Speaker 1: men according to women, So I think it's only fair
- 33:36Speaker 1: that we at least tell you what some of the
- 33:38Speaker 1: attractive hobbies. What are the most attractive hobbies that men
- 33:42Speaker 1: can have, according to women. So if you're trying to
- 33:44Speaker 1: so if you play video games and you like to
- 33:47Speaker 1: bully people online and you like to gamble, you need
- 33:51Speaker 1: to balance that out with some good things like cooking,
- 33:56Speaker 1: learning or speaking a foreign language, read, painting, hiking, traveling, swimming,
- 34:04Speaker 1: and the number one hobby that women think is attractive
- 34:08Speaker 1: playing an instrument. Oh and there's one other big one
- 34:14Speaker 1: that I almost forgot to leave off here. Blacksmithing. Women
- 34:20Speaker 1: are okay, women are women think it's hot if you're
- 34:23Speaker 1: into blacksmithing. So if you want to look really attractive
- 34:27Speaker 1: to a woman, go shoe a horse while reading a book,
- 34:31Speaker 1: having just gone for a swim, and writing a song.
- 34:35Speaker 1: You're going to play for her on your guitar and
- 34:37Speaker 1: you're in like Flynn.
- 34:41Speaker 3: The one on there that I absolutely find total bs
- 34:43Speaker 3: And maybe it's because we live in Texas and it's
- 34:45Speaker 3: very flat. The whole hiking thing, I don't know anyone
- 34:48Speaker 3: who actually actually you're the only person I know, but
- 34:52Speaker 3: that was on a trip that went for you know,
- 34:54Speaker 3: goes on a hike like you went to is it
- 34:56Speaker 3: Mount Rainier and when you were in Washington. Yeah, But
- 34:59Speaker 3: in general, I don't know a lot of people that
- 35:03Speaker 3: on the on the daily go for a hike.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Now.
- 35:06Speaker 3: I know online you'll see people say, oh, I love
- 35:08Speaker 3: going for a hike, do you do you really?
- 35:12Speaker 1: Chances are that was one hike they did three years ago,
- 35:15Speaker 1: and they're just chopping up different videos. They probably had
- 35:17Speaker 1: five or six different outfit changes just to make it
- 35:19Speaker 1: look like they hike all the time. But in the
- 35:21Speaker 1: reality they're just on their couch wearing their uh snuggie
- 35:27Speaker 1: and all, and the only hiking they do is back
- 35:29Speaker 1: and forth from the kitchen.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Yeah, watching true crime documentaries about someone who got killed hiking, and.
- 35:37Speaker 1: That's why you don't do it anymore.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Yeah.

- 36:32Speaker 1: home with you inside the Treehouse. It is Thursday, February sixth,
- 36:36Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate with some birthdays. What do
- 36:43Speaker 1: you say, Oh, this is actually pretty good. We had
- 36:47Speaker 1: just talked about a couple of days ago that the
- 36:51Speaker 1: creators of Stranger Things are working on a news show
- 36:55Speaker 1: that is going to be called The Burrows that is
- 36:58Speaker 1: also going to be a supernatural show, but instead of
- 37:02Speaker 1: it being kids on bicycles, it's going to be based
- 37:05Speaker 1: in a retirement community, so they'll be on golf carts instead.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I say that because today in birthdays, Charlie Heaton is
- 37:13Speaker 1: thirty one. Charlie Heaton plays Jonathan Byers on Stranger Things.
- 37:19Speaker 1: That's the older brother that looks a little bit like
- 37:22Speaker 1: our Jerry Caledwell, okay, he's the one that's always that
- 37:26Speaker 1: In the last season, he was the one always smoking
- 37:28Speaker 1: weed with our Guyle the pizza boy. Yeah, so that's
- 37:32Speaker 1: the older brother again. When we see Jerry tomorrow, Drey,
- 37:38Speaker 1: I'm telling you those two are related somehow. It's very possible.
- 37:41Speaker 1: So anyway, Charlie Heaton is thirty one today, while keeping
- 37:45Speaker 1: in mind that he plays I think like a twenty
- 37:47Speaker 1: year old.
- 37:50Speaker 3: I just hope they they I hope they finish off
- 37:55Speaker 3: stranger Things. I hope it wasn't a money grab and
- 37:58Speaker 3: they really do it right and it.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Ends on a high note.
- 38:01Speaker 3: I am tired of series that I feel like just
- 38:04Speaker 3: came back for another season that was just a money grab.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm tired of the mega disappointment, the biggest being
- 38:10Speaker 1: Game of Thrones for a show that was excruciatingly slow,
- 38:15Speaker 1: with the exception of its final season, it just felt
- 38:18Speaker 1: like they hurried through it because they did because they
- 38:21Speaker 1: had gotten a development deal with Disney Slash Lucasfilm. They
- 38:24Speaker 1: were going to run off and do Star Wars stuff.
- 38:28Speaker 1: But there was a consequence to that. They botched that
- 38:30Speaker 1: final season of Game of Throne so badly that that
- 38:34Speaker 1: Star Wars thing got yanked away from them.
- 38:38Speaker 3: I couldn't get past the first season a Game of Throne,
- 38:40Speaker 3: so it just didn't affect me.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Well, I guess you're lucky, but I'm with you on
- 38:47Speaker 1: those stranger things. I have such high hopes. I really
- 38:51Speaker 1: hope that they stick the landing on this thing. But again,
- 38:55Speaker 1: I and then this is dangerous because I have difficulty
- 38:58Speaker 1: with expectations, being disappointed of my own lofty expectations, right,
- 39:02Speaker 1: and being disappointed by others. I really, I really think
- 39:07Speaker 1: they can pull it off.
- 39:08Speaker 2: I mean, did you watch Umbrella Academy?
- 39:11Speaker 1: I did not. I mean I watched some of it,
- 39:13Speaker 1: but I never fully got engrossed in it. So I
- 39:16Speaker 1: watched some of it, but it just didn't grab me.
- 39:18Speaker 3: It was really good, and they ended the third season
- 39:22Speaker 3: where you tied it all up. It was good. It
- 39:24Speaker 3: was good to I honestly, I thought, all right, that
- 39:27Speaker 3: was it. Hey, good series. Yeah, And then they came
- 39:29Speaker 3: out with four season just crap, just an absolute money
- 39:32Speaker 3: grab crap.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Sometimes you just need to just let it go and
- 39:38Speaker 1: wrap it up beautifully and then go on to something.
- 39:41Speaker 3: Else and that reminds me of something else one of
- 39:43Speaker 3: your movie reviews.
- 39:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna say it was not so good Saturday Night.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Oh okay, I don't know if I said that was great.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I said it was interesting because they followed minute by
- 39:59Speaker 1: minute everything that led up to the very first Saturday
- 40:03Speaker 1: Night Live episode. The performances by the people portraying the
- 40:08Speaker 1: real life you know, people I thought were really really good,
- 40:11Speaker 1: the guy that played Chevy Chase, dan Ackroyd, Billy Crystal,
- 40:14Speaker 1: all those people I thought were really really good.
- 40:16Speaker 3: I mean, they're portraying Blushi with Garrett the black guy's name,
- 40:27Speaker 3: I've just drew a blank.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Oh, Garrett Morris.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Garrett Morris.
- 40:30Speaker 3: You know when he reaches in his back pocket, pulls
- 40:32Speaker 3: out a violet coke and snorts the.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Entire vial the seventies. Yeah, that and Uncle Milty whipping
- 40:42Speaker 2: it out those.
- 40:44Speaker 1: See mimorable. It's not the best movie ever. It's not
- 40:47Speaker 1: going to be one that I'm going to want to
- 40:49Speaker 1: go back and rewatch or anything. But it was. It
- 40:52Speaker 1: was an interesting film, and the performances I thought were
- 40:55Speaker 1: really good, and the backstory was interesting.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 41:02Speaker 3: I'm not sad I watched it. I thought you kind
- 41:04Speaker 3: of said it was good. You're interesting is the perfect
- 41:08Speaker 3: word to describe it.
- 41:09Speaker 1: The movie was interesting. I thought the performances were really good,
