- 1:45Speaker 3: because this is gonna be pretty.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Good on this episode here.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I didn't really think that I had to make it
- 1:54Speaker 3: like an episode or PSA announcement, so to speak. However,
- 2:00Speaker 3: I've been having some conversation with some people and over
- 2:04Speaker 3: the past couple of weeks and even experience some things myself,
- 2:07Speaker 3: and it's always been a little pet peeve of mine, and.
- 2:11Speaker 2: So I just thought i'd share, you know, see what
- 2:13Speaker 2: y'all thought.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Maybe in the comments, y'all can give me a difference
- 2:18Speaker 3: of opinion. You know, if you have been following me,
- 2:21Speaker 3: you know my podcast is bad to Bad to Business,
- 2:25Speaker 3: bringing all diverse discussions to business. So I always want
- 2:28Speaker 3: to bring a difference of opinion to the table, whether
- 2:30Speaker 3: it's you know, changing my opinion or we get to
- 2:33Speaker 3: change somebody else's opinion. So we always want to be
- 2:36Speaker 3: included in the conversation and you know, see what we
- 2:41Speaker 3: can bring to the business table. So come on, tap in,
- 2:45Speaker 3: tap in, Happy Friday, tgif we are thanking God that
- 2:51Speaker 3: we made it this far, because the weeks can be harsh. Again,
- 2:58Speaker 3: if you are able to tap in, I'm glad that
- 3:01Speaker 3: you made it this far. Please have a seat wherever
- 3:04Speaker 3: you know you can provide one for yourself. Get comfy
- 3:09Speaker 3: just for a minute. I'm just gonna take up a
- 3:11Speaker 3: little bit of your time and like I said, I'm
- 3:12Speaker 3: just gonna see what you'renna think about something. So again
- 3:18Speaker 3: I am your host, Shine and Saffron, you are witnessing
- 3:21Speaker 3: another episode of bad Too business.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Thank you for tapping in for me.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Hey, hey, we're getting ready to get started. Come on in,
- 3:29Speaker 3: have a seat at the at the business table. I'm
- 3:34Speaker 3: getting ready to share something that I call manipulating the
- 3:42Speaker 3: mulberry bush. And the reason why I kind of came
- 3:47Speaker 3: up with that is because these conversations, so you know
- 3:52Speaker 3: how people say you're beating around the bush, okay, and
- 3:58Speaker 3: that was kind of the inspiration.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Around the mowberry bush. Of course, here we go around
- 4:03Speaker 2: the moberry bush. Yeah, all that thing.
- 4:04Speaker 3: So skipping around the mowberry bush, but manipulating the mulberry bush.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Not not only are you skipping around or beating around
- 4:14Speaker 3: what you want to talk about, but you're kind of
- 4:17Speaker 3: manipulating it in a way that you try to make
- 4:20Speaker 3: it seem like it's not what it really is, you know.
- 4:23Speaker 3: So I just want to kind of talk to y'all
- 4:26Speaker 3: about that this evening and see what y'all think. Again,
- 4:29Speaker 3: hit me up in the chats or in the comments,
- 4:32Speaker 3: hit me up in the DMS message me. I can
- 4:36Speaker 3: revisit this conversation because, like I said, I didn't think
- 4:39Speaker 3: I was gonna make this a whole thing. But with
- 4:41Speaker 3: the experiences and the conversations I've had with some people,
- 4:45Speaker 3: they've been venting to me a little bit, and uh,
- 4:50Speaker 3: I just I just I just felt like it was necessary.
- 4:54Speaker 3: It was some things to be said. So come on in,
- 4:58Speaker 3: tap in, tap in, Welcome to bad to business, Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. Okay,
- 5:04Speaker 3: I'm gonna go ahead and get started with this, get
- 5:06Speaker 3: this stuff rolling because you know, again it's Friday.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I don't want to take up too much of your time.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I'm sure you got stuff to do, and I definitely
- 5:14Speaker 3: just want to get through this type of conversation and
- 5:18Speaker 3: just see what kind of, you know, resolutions we can
- 5:22Speaker 3: come to in this type of thing. Maybe you can
- 5:25Speaker 3: offer some good advice because I, you know, I feel
- 5:28Speaker 3: some type of way, and we'll just see. So again,
- 5:32Speaker 3: this episode is about manipulating the mulberry bush. If you're
- 5:36Speaker 3: just joining in, hey, joining in. It's just about people
- 5:40Speaker 3: beating around the point of what they want to talk
- 5:42Speaker 3: about and still trying to make it seem like it's
- 5:44Speaker 3: not what it is.
- 5:48Speaker 2: And I feel like, you know.
- 5:50Speaker 3: We should talk about this because I've never really understood
- 5:54Speaker 3: why people, you know, I guess, tiptoe around what really
- 6:00Speaker 3: needs to be said. Now, you do have some straightforward people,
- 6:04Speaker 3: what I call straight talkers. I'm known to be one
- 6:07Speaker 3: of them, But I'm also known to be a little aggressive.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Maybe sometimes it seems a little I'm insensitive. That might
- 6:14Speaker 3: just be my nature, but I have not only lived
- 6:17Speaker 3: a life but work some jobs that are straight to
- 6:20Speaker 3: the point. Let's turry up and get a resolution and
- 6:23Speaker 3: that's how life should be anyway. You shouldn't be so
- 6:26Speaker 3: concerned about the problem and not working towards the resolution.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:29Speaker 3: So I don't think that's a bad thing first for
- 6:34Speaker 3: me to do. I don't think it's a bad thing
- 6:35Speaker 3: for you to do anybody else that needs to do that.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Just get straight to the point, right.
- 6:40Speaker 3: But I found that in these conversations and experiences that
- 6:44Speaker 3: just in these last couple of weeks and in my experiences,
- 6:48Speaker 3: that there have been three types of bushes, so to speak,
- 6:56Speaker 3: that people tend to beat around for the most part,
- 7:01Speaker 3: and that comes to monetary, informational and emotional monetary information
- 7:12Speaker 3: on emotional. So let's start off with monetary. So let's
- 7:17Speaker 3: say somebody just needs to borrow some money from you,
- 7:20Speaker 3: or you know, borrow some some type of something of value,
- 7:24Speaker 3: whatever the case may be. They need to borrow your
- 7:25Speaker 3: car something like that, and they can't seem to get
- 7:31Speaker 3: to that. They got to tell you the whole story,
- 7:32Speaker 3: or they got to tell you the whole SIB story.
- 7:34Speaker 3: And you know that if you like most of us,
- 7:37Speaker 3: we don't do pity parties, we don't do crisis conversations.
- 7:40Speaker 3: We just really want to get to the point and
- 7:42Speaker 3: the reason why you want to do that, especially in
- 7:44Speaker 3: a monetary situation or I need a I need a
- 7:46Speaker 3: favor type of situation is you.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Don't want to waste time.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Most of the time it's time sensitive, so you definitely
- 7:53Speaker 3: don't want to waste time asking somebody for something. We're
- 7:58Speaker 3: trying to get to the point of something.
- 7:59Speaker 2: What our all a long story to a short point.
- 8:03Speaker 3: You know, long story short, but I mean the point
- 8:06Speaker 3: is so short, the favor be so quick. But if
- 8:08Speaker 3: you waste that time trying to tell somebody the whole
- 8:10Speaker 3: story and the whole background and making them trying to
- 8:12Speaker 3: feel sorry for your whatever the case may be, and
- 8:17Speaker 3: then they can't help you. Now you've wasted that time
- 8:20Speaker 3: telling them that story, and now you got a rush
- 8:23Speaker 3: to go somewhere else, and then what end up telling
- 8:25Speaker 3: that whole story again?
- 8:26Speaker 2: It's just not worth it.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Or you tell them to them, you tell it to
- 8:30Speaker 3: the people, and they really they can help you, But
- 8:33Speaker 3: now y'all in a rush to hurry up and get something.
- 8:36Speaker 3: By the time you get to the end of that conversation,
- 8:39Speaker 3: you're like, Okay, well, now the bank's closed, right, so
- 8:45Speaker 3: how am I supposed to help like you're of if
- 8:46Speaker 3: you would have asked me, you know, an hour ago,
- 8:49Speaker 3: we've been sitting here, you asking me how things gone,
- 8:52Speaker 3: how the kids done, all that, because you really wanted
- 8:56Speaker 3: to ask me for a favor. I am that straight talk.
- 9:00Speaker 3: So get straight to the point now. I do understand
- 9:02Speaker 3: that there are times you do have to elaborate when
- 9:06Speaker 3: people ask you. You know, if you are calling to
- 9:10Speaker 3: just ask somebody for a favor, you're trying to get
- 9:12Speaker 3: to the point of something, get there, Let them go
- 9:16Speaker 3: ahead and either tell you they can help you or they.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Can't, you know, and leave it there.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I just think that it's you know, it's unnecessary conversation,
- 9:31Speaker 3: and it seems to sometimes it.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Can burn more bridges than build them.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Right that same bridge you're trying to cross, you're trying
- 9:38Speaker 3: to ask that favor, you're trying to, you know, whatever
- 9:41Speaker 3: it is you need, you end up having conversation that
- 9:46Speaker 3: leads to stuff that doesn't need to be talked about
- 9:50Speaker 3: when you're trying to get to that point. Right, So,
- 9:53Speaker 3: just having a conversation with someone just to get to
- 9:56Speaker 3: this point or just to kind of highlight this point.
- 9:59Speaker 3: I'm talking about talking to somebody and she said that,
- 10:02Speaker 3: you know, she was in a situation where someone needed
- 10:05Speaker 3: a favor from her, and instead of him just getting
- 10:10Speaker 3: to the point and saying, hey, can you do this
- 10:12Speaker 3: for me, he kind of went around the point and
- 10:16Speaker 3: you know, tried to start conversation that she really wasn't
- 10:19Speaker 3: trying to have in the first place.
- 10:21Speaker 2: And you can kind of tell you can get the
- 10:23Speaker 2: vibe when somebody's like.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Uh huh uh huh uh huh. Okay, they're unresponsive. If
- 10:27Speaker 3: you will, it's a conversation. But she she wasn't trying.
- 10:34Speaker 2: To have the conversation.
- 10:35Speaker 3: So the more he talked of apparently, you know, the
- 10:38Speaker 3: more it seemed irrelevant to her, and he ended up,
- 10:42Speaker 3: I guess, you know, in the midst of small talk,
- 10:45Speaker 3: wanted to ask some questions that had nothing to do
- 10:51Speaker 3: with him, of course, right, and now she's at a
- 10:58Speaker 3: level of irritation and of what are you talking about?
- 11:04Speaker 3: Why are we even talking about this at this point?
- 11:06Speaker 3: You know, what's the point? Now she starts to get
- 11:09Speaker 3: a little more anxious because now I realize that we're
- 11:11Speaker 3: having a conversation that we shouldn't even be having with
- 11:14Speaker 3: each other anyway. But again, all in favor of or
- 11:20Speaker 3: trying to get to. I need a favor from you.
- 11:23Speaker 3: So now by the time you get to this is
- 11:27Speaker 3: what I really need, the person's already upset. They're tired
- 11:31Speaker 3: of talking to you. You don't asked questions and said
- 11:35Speaker 3: things that didn't need to be said. You know, you've
- 11:38Speaker 3: even talked about the things your your pity party or
- 11:41Speaker 3: whatever it is. That the story that you wanted to
- 11:43Speaker 3: tell them that they may or may not believe.
- 11:46Speaker 2: And that's the whole thing too.
- 11:48Speaker 3: The sermon is a you know, is a powerful prayer
- 11:51Speaker 3: because you got to know when to give your energy
- 11:53Speaker 3: to something and when not to. You got to know
- 11:54Speaker 3: who to talk to who not to talk to. Again,
- 11:59Speaker 3: I feel like the people that need that story, that
- 12:01Speaker 3: backup story or that background story is the people that
- 12:04Speaker 3: ask So it's really unnecessary. But so anyway, that type
- 12:11Speaker 3: of situation, I've been through it. Somebody told me that
- 12:14Speaker 3: they've been through it. Where again, you just need to
- 12:16Speaker 3: ask the favor. And again now it's time sensitive. Now
- 12:20Speaker 3: we gotta hurry up and get to something. Now we
- 12:23Speaker 3: gotta hurry up and figure this out. Or now you
- 12:26Speaker 3: gotta hurry up and figure it out because you don't
- 12:29Speaker 3: waste it time for somebody to give you a solid note,
- 12:33Speaker 3: and you could have just said, can you do this?
- 12:35Speaker 2: No cool, save me a lot of time. Appreciate it.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Right, Let's get to another bush, the informational bush. It's
- 12:47Speaker 3: real big, used to be real big with me. It's
- 12:50Speaker 3: not too big with me anymore because you know, let
- 12:55Speaker 3: me see, one of the best slogans I've found to
- 12:59Speaker 3: express the way I feel is, you know, I ain't
- 13:01Speaker 3: got nothing to hide, but I ain't got ith to
- 13:03Speaker 3: tell you either. But I am really big on don't
- 13:10Speaker 3: ask my neighbor come to me, Really big on that,
- 13:15Speaker 3: really big on that, especially if it's somebody who talks
- 13:18Speaker 3: to me on a regular basis, somebody who knows me.
- 13:22Speaker 3: And you know, you just got those nosy type of
- 13:25Speaker 3: people around you, or concerned people around you, and they
- 13:29Speaker 3: just want to kind of know what's going on, and
- 13:36Speaker 3: they're too afraid to ask you your business. Go figure,
- 13:41Speaker 3: too afraid to ask you your business, but they're not
- 13:44Speaker 3: afraid to ask your neighbor if they've seen what's going
- 13:48Speaker 3: on over the fence. So I've experienced that a lot
- 13:55Speaker 3: in my life.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure you.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Have experienced a lot of that in your life and
- 13:59Speaker 3: if you never or have salute to you, because it's
- 14:02Speaker 3: really annoying to have somebody who can stand right next
- 14:05Speaker 3: to you and still ask somebody else about you. So
- 14:14Speaker 3: and when I found myself even in that situation, and
- 14:18Speaker 3: I asked the person why they couldn't just ask me
- 14:21Speaker 3: why they felt the need to go and ask somebody else,
- 14:23Speaker 3: or you know, ask the person next to me, as
- 14:26Speaker 3: though the person was just gonna give up that information
- 14:29Speaker 3: that easy on me.
- 14:31Speaker 2: And she said, well, you know.
- 14:33Speaker 3: You tend to get a little snappy when people ask
- 14:37Speaker 3: you about your business. Okay, I take that, you know,
- 14:42Speaker 3: I take that it can happen, But like I had
- 14:47Speaker 3: to explain to this person, sometimes you just got to
- 14:51Speaker 3: check what you're asking, especially if you feel like I'm
- 14:56Speaker 3: gonna get snappy about it now, I will get so fancastic,
- 15:00Speaker 3: you know. And even I told this person, I mean,
- 15:03Speaker 3: how mad can I get? How upset can I get?
- 15:06Speaker 3: Like what actually can come out of you just asking
- 15:10Speaker 3: me what you want to know and not beating around
- 15:14Speaker 3: the bush or you know, even I've had somebody even
- 15:18Speaker 3: make up something to see my reaction so that they
- 15:22Speaker 3: could ask me something. Just come on, we just at
- 15:27Speaker 3: this point, we really live in a time sensitive world,
- 15:29Speaker 3: so we don't need all that extra stuff. Let's get
- 15:32Speaker 3: to what we're trying to get to. I guarantee you
- 15:34Speaker 3: we'll accomplish so much more in the short period of
- 15:37Speaker 3: time we still have left. But so, yeah, you gotta
- 15:43Speaker 3: check what you're asking. And some people do get snappy
- 15:46Speaker 3: about what you ask them. Celebrities go through it all
- 15:49Speaker 3: the time. I'm no type of celebrity, but I am
- 15:52Speaker 3: about what is even necessary for somebody to know. Now,
- 15:59Speaker 3: if you're asking me something that keeps stuff rolling, if
- 16:02Speaker 3: we're in partnership, you know a family member who needs
- 16:05Speaker 3: to know something so they can move forward, I mean,
- 16:07Speaker 3: by all means, share that with me. But if you
- 16:10Speaker 3: just asking because you just want to know, and then
- 16:14Speaker 3: you get to the point where you know, if you
- 16:17Speaker 3: ask me, I'm gonna get a little testy, sarcastic and
- 16:19Speaker 3: feel some type of way. So you then decide to
- 16:24Speaker 3: ask somebody else.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Come on, man, we can't do that. We cannot do that.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I mean, again, the people that are in these situations,
- 16:36Speaker 3: they ain't the first and ain't gonna be the last.
- 16:38Speaker 3: But I just really felt like, come on, what's really
- 16:43Speaker 3: going on? What is really going on? Like, can we
- 16:47Speaker 3: not waste this time talking about what we need and
- 16:53Speaker 3: just you know, asking hey, this is what I need,
- 16:56Speaker 3: and see what happens. And if you can't get it
- 16:59Speaker 3: from the person you're asking, you know, then go ask
- 17:01Speaker 3: somebody else.
- 17:03Speaker 2: But it's that simple.
- 17:04Speaker 3: And like I said, especially when it's time sensitive, it
- 17:10Speaker 3: just seems like it's a domino effect. You know, you're
- 17:14Speaker 3: setting up these dominoes to knock them down, but I
- 17:22Speaker 3: don't even know if people know which way that the
- 17:23Speaker 3: domino is going. The dominoes are spending again, it takes
- 17:27Speaker 3: so long to get them down because you know you're
- 17:29Speaker 3: doing more than two or three. You got to tell
- 17:31Speaker 3: the whole backstory. So let's move on to the next bush.
- 17:36Speaker 3: So we had the monetary bush where we're asking for
- 17:38Speaker 3: favors and takes people so long to get there.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Time sensitive.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I need a favor, I need a place to say
- 17:44Speaker 3: I need some money, I need something, and you need
- 17:47Speaker 3: not take all day to ask me because I might
- 17:50Speaker 3: not be able to help you by the time you
- 17:52Speaker 3: finish asking me. Right then we got the informational bush,
- 17:56Speaker 3: where you are seeking for information. I, for one, suggest
- 18:01Speaker 3: you make sure that it's need to know information, especially
- 18:03Speaker 3: if you're coming at me about it, it.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Make it make sense.
- 18:11Speaker 3: And if you're not gonna come to me about it,
- 18:13Speaker 3: just you know, make it make sense to yourself before
- 18:16Speaker 3: you try to go and ask somebody else about me.
- 18:20Speaker 3: You know, it's been one of my things where I
- 18:21Speaker 3: don't ask a lot about other people's business because if
- 18:25Speaker 3: I'm going to open that door to ask their business
- 18:27Speaker 3: and receive their information, that opens mind too.
- 18:31Speaker 2: It's just unnecessary. And again, I.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Ain't got nothing to hide, but I ain't got nothing
- 18:35Speaker 3: to share, you know, So I'll give the information where
- 18:40Speaker 3: it's needed. Next bush emotional and in this one it's
- 18:46Speaker 3: more so like emotional support. You know, there's sometimes we
- 18:50Speaker 3: really need that and we don't know how to ask
- 18:52Speaker 3: for that.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I will pull my own card.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I'll clean up the stuff out of my own eye
- 18:59Speaker 3: before where I pick out somebody else's eye. I do
- 19:03Speaker 3: know people in the situation like that, but I'm one
- 19:07Speaker 3: of them. I'm one of them, one of those people
- 19:12Speaker 3: who cannot ask for help or it's hard, you know,
- 19:16Speaker 3: And I'm starting to since I've identified that that's what
- 19:21Speaker 3: I need to do, you know, I've been this shape
- 19:24Speaker 3: shifter to survival and I'm gonna get into that in
- 19:27Speaker 3: another episode. But I've been a shape shifter to survival
- 19:30Speaker 3: so long that asking for help seems like letting down
- 19:37Speaker 3: a line of defense. And of course, you know, I'm
- 19:40Speaker 3: always on the defense. I'm I'm a mama bear and
- 19:43Speaker 3: I've been that way and a protector for a long time.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Provider and protector for a long time.
- 19:47Speaker 3: So I can't let any of the empire that God
- 19:51Speaker 3: has allowed me to build get crushed over anything stupid. So,
- 19:58Speaker 3: but things do get hard, they get rough, they get heavy,
- 20:02Speaker 3: and it's hard to say, hey, things are hard, rough
- 20:06Speaker 3: and heavy. Sometimes I feel like.
- 20:13Speaker 2: The people around me, or.
- 20:18Speaker 3: You know the well I'm gonna say, the people around
- 20:20Speaker 3: me should already know because they are already seeing it.
- 20:25Speaker 3: I am one of those people that are like a
- 20:27Speaker 3: see a need, feeling need. And I had to kind
- 20:30Speaker 3: of calm that down because I realized that a lot
- 20:32Speaker 3: of those things were distractions. I was jumping into things.
- 20:37Speaker 3: My last episode talked about me and Jazzy talked about discernment,
- 20:40Speaker 3: knowing when to help when not to, and sometimes the
- 20:44Speaker 3: devil knows that you are one of those spirits that
- 20:46Speaker 3: are a ce a need feeling need type of person,
- 20:49Speaker 3: and he'll throw those distractions so you can just squirrel
- 20:52Speaker 3: right off your path. Right, But with this one, the
- 20:58Speaker 3: emotional support, you know how to ask for help, and
- 21:04Speaker 3: you don't know how to say it. I remember a
- 21:07Speaker 3: situation where I saw someone get really upset because she
- 21:12Speaker 3: they were in a relationship, and she expressed something to
- 21:14Speaker 3: her spouse and I guess she expected him, excuse me,
- 21:20Speaker 3: excuse me. From the way I saw it, she expected
- 21:22Speaker 3: him to react a different way, and he reacted his way.
- 21:27Speaker 3: All right, he's a man, she's a woman, and there
- 21:30Speaker 3: was nothing leading to the conversation.
- 21:32Speaker 2: She she was fishing, you know, for what she needed, but.
- 21:41Speaker 3: He didn't respond well, which ultimately again setting up those dominoes.
- 21:49Speaker 3: He didn't respond the way she wanted him to, which
- 21:52Speaker 3: ultimately made her respond not well.
- 21:55Speaker 2: And I just kind of watched it unfold.
- 21:58Speaker 3: I did say my two piece in it, but ultimately
- 22:02Speaker 3: that's their relationship. But I just felt like, wow, she
- 22:06Speaker 3: could have just said something like, well, you know, wow,
- 22:10Speaker 3: I expected you to say this, or.
- 22:14Speaker 2: You know, well how about.
- 22:16Speaker 3: This, or you know, I don't want to get too
- 22:19Speaker 3: much into that part of the situation because I'm no
- 22:23Speaker 3: longer around that situation and it wouldn't be fair to
- 22:26Speaker 3: tell that person's business.
- 22:27Speaker 2: But I just saw that.
- 22:29Speaker 3: She needed some emotional support, and because she didn't know
- 22:32Speaker 3: how to ask for it, he didn't know how to
- 22:35Speaker 3: respond to it. It caused a bad domino effect. The
- 22:39Speaker 3: dominoes fell out of control. So with these beaten around
- 22:46Speaker 3: the bushes, and again the conversation tonight is about manipulating
- 22:51Speaker 3: the mulberry bush. So not only are you beating around
- 22:54Speaker 3: a bush, but you're making it seem like that's not
- 22:56Speaker 3: what you're trying to get to. That's not the point
- 22:58Speaker 3: you're curving a conversation. I don't know if it's to
- 23:03Speaker 3: make you more comfortable. I don't know how that goes
- 23:06Speaker 3: for people who are not straight talkers, like myself, But
- 23:11Speaker 3: I also know that being a straight talker is or
- 23:14Speaker 3: can be, a gift and a curse. I've experienced some loss,
- 23:22Speaker 3: some loss, some friendship loss just being straightforward about some things.
- 23:28Speaker 3: You know, the Bible tells you that the tongue is
- 23:29Speaker 3: a two edge sward, so you gotta be careful how
- 23:32Speaker 3: you how you put it out there. And because of
- 23:35Speaker 3: how to return. And I know I've had this running
- 23:37Speaker 3: joke with my cousin where it's like, you know, I
- 23:40Speaker 3: gotta be careful how I talk to people, because I
- 23:42Speaker 3: realize I can be a little straight talker and a
- 23:45Speaker 3: little more sarcastic than I need to be at most times.
- 23:50Speaker 3: And I've said things like are the running joke is,
- 23:54Speaker 3: you know, people can't talk to me the way I
- 23:57Speaker 3: talk to them, you know, And I know that sounds,
- 24:01Speaker 3: you know, one sided, I know, which.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Is why I had to kind of switch that up
- 24:07Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 24:08Speaker 3: So I just wanted to come with y'all tonight, bring
- 24:12Speaker 3: this to the business table, and see if we can
- 24:14Speaker 3: get some type of resolution. I need y'all to stop
- 24:17Speaker 3: beating around the bush.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I don't know who it is that you're trying to
- 24:20Speaker 2: talk to.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Honestly, you know, less words, less feelings, right, less words,
- 24:25Speaker 3: less emotions.
- 24:26Speaker 2: If you just get straight to the point, you don't.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Start to think about what the other person's thinking, you
- 24:30Speaker 3: don't start to feel a different body language. Because I
- 24:33Speaker 3: remember one thing my grandmother used to say is I
- 24:35Speaker 3: can't give you good advice without knowing the whole story.
- 24:38Speaker 3: You know, of course, I only want to tell her
- 24:39Speaker 3: bits and pieces about something that was going on before.
- 24:44Speaker 3: She was just like, this don't sound right. You know,
- 24:48Speaker 3: I want to tell you this, but then something sounds
- 24:50Speaker 3: a miss message. So get straight to the point. I
- 24:58Speaker 3: get it that it is sometimes hard scary, but like
- 25:02Speaker 3: I said, depending on who you're talking to, if you're
- 25:05Speaker 3: cool with the person, it shouldn't.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Be that hard.
- 25:08Speaker 3: It really shouldn't be that hard. We bail and fail
- 25:13Speaker 3: on relationships, friendships, partnerships because we really can't just say
- 25:19Speaker 3: what we need.
- 25:21Speaker 2: There is a way to say things.
- 25:24Speaker 3: I remember my mom used to say, it's not what
- 25:27Speaker 3: you say, is how you say it. So definitely hang
- 25:31Speaker 3: on to that. But I just want to share that
- 25:34Speaker 3: with y'all. I'm not going to make this too long,
- 25:40Speaker 3: but like I said, I didn't think I had to
- 25:42Speaker 3: make this a PSA announcement or make this a whole episode,
- 25:46Speaker 3: but this was just something that was coming up and
- 25:49Speaker 3: I just I couldn't take it anymore.
- 25:52Speaker 2: I really couldn't.
- 25:54Speaker 3: There are people who need stuff, want stuff, and they
- 26:00Speaker 3: just they take too long to get to the point.
- 26:03Speaker 3: So I'm not going to prolong this. I want you
- 26:06Speaker 3: to hit me up, let me know what you think
- 26:08Speaker 3: got a lot of different things going on. I'm just
- 26:11Speaker 3: go ahead and in that because that's that right. I'm
- 26:16Speaker 3: not gonna prolong that conversation any longer. That's that Moving forward.
- 26:21Speaker 3: I got some different things going on, some different projects
- 26:24Speaker 3: coming up. I know I've been kind of off the
- 26:26Speaker 3: scene for a little bit, but I've been trying to
- 26:29Speaker 3: get some other things established, uh, you know, build other
- 26:34Speaker 3: things up so that I can, you know, just be
- 26:39Speaker 3: the queen of the castles that I need to be.
- 26:44Speaker 3: It takes some time to rebuild your mind as you're
- 26:48Speaker 3: rebuilding yourself. I've taken a lot of time to myself.
- 26:53Speaker 3: I didn't post a lot. I haven't really been showing up.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Again.
- 26:58Speaker 3: If you've been following me, one of my first episodes
- 27:01Speaker 3: was God telling me I need to show up.
- 27:03Speaker 2: And you know, disobedience is is its own punishment.
- 27:11Speaker 3: So there are ways that I know I been I
- 27:13Speaker 3: was supposed to show up, and you know, I let
- 27:18Speaker 3: false false evidence appearing real fear kind of hinder me.
- 27:24Speaker 3: And I really gotta shake that. So one thing that
- 27:29Speaker 3: I was standing on this morning, I was praying with
- 27:31Speaker 3: God and are praying to God, and you know, f
- 27:35Speaker 3: fear and cancer too. Happy Cancer Month to all those survivors.
- 27:41Speaker 3: But f fear because and cancer because both have the
- 27:45Speaker 3: ability to deteriorate your life. But you got to have
- 27:49Speaker 3: the fight of faith in both situations. And there is
- 27:56Speaker 3: a chance that you'll come through. You know, you cancer
- 28:00Speaker 3: survivors and you and you fearful survivors. I'm about to
- 28:05Speaker 3: be a fearful survivor. It will happen. It will happen.
- 28:12Speaker 3: So anyway, got a lot of stuff coming up. I
- 28:14Speaker 3: hope that you guys can join me. Keep tuned, I mean,
- 28:17Speaker 3: keep connected to me. I'm doing a lot more posts
- 28:22Speaker 3: and getting out there. I got some some projects that's
- 28:26Speaker 3: going in the way that uh that I really need
- 28:29Speaker 3: them to go. I'm gonna need some help, you know.
- 28:32Speaker 3: I might be reaching out and stuff. I got some
- 28:34Speaker 3: new episodes coming up. I might be reaching out to
- 28:36Speaker 3: some of y'all. Some of y'all have already reached out
- 28:39Speaker 3: to the next episode were working on is our entrepreneurship episode.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I hope y'all can tune in, and again, if you're
- 28:44Speaker 3: still willing to be part of the panel, you can
- 28:46Speaker 3: hit me up.
- 28:47Speaker 2: We'll squeeze in.
- 28:51Speaker 3: That one's gonna be good because I feel like it
- 28:53Speaker 3: can reach one teach many. So I hope y'all stay
- 28:56Speaker 3: tuned and yeah, just stay connected with me. See what
- 28:59Speaker 3: was going on again? I am your host, Shining Saffron.
