- 1:38Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 132, Sean McAllister here along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:44Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, uh this is the time of year when things start to get exciting.
- 1:49Sean McAllister: Because I know that my email has been filling up with everything about fantasy football, which means that real football is starting, and that's a big deal here.
- 1:57Dayna Roselli: It is, not only because we love football, but because the weather starts to cool down to that perfect 90 degrees.
- 2:03Sean McAllister: It does, it does.
- 2:05Sean McAllister: And uh next week on Vegas Reveal, just a programming note, we're gonna be going over some of the best places to watch football, a lot of great fall entertainment.
- 2:14Sean McAllister: So that's coming up next week here on Vegas Reveal.
- 2:18Sean McAllister: But this week we got a full roster.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we do.
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: And like you said, you know, football season is upon us.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: I know you're doing some fantasy football stuff this week, right?
- 2:25Sean McAllister: Yeah, yep.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: So how does that work?
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: You meet, you pick the team, what goes on?
- 2:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, meet, pick the team, have some food and drink.
- 2:32Sean McAllister: Lots of good times.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: Now, do you plan ahead of who you want on your team, or is it like you guys like fight for it?
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: Is that what you do?
- 2:40Sean McAllister: Well, you plan as best you can, okay, but then you're usually assigned uh a picking order uh when once you arrive at the draft.
- 2:52Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 2:53Sean McAllister: Uh, and that can like throw your whole plan out of whack.
- 2:56Sean McAllister: It all depends on who other people want.
- 2:58Sean McAllister: If you have a player on your team that's really like highly valued and a lot of people are going for them, then it's a fight.
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 3:06Sean McAllister: But um there is strategy going into it, yes.
- 3:10Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 3:10Dayna Roselli: Well, listen, preseason has been great for the Raiders.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: We're what, three and oh?
- 3:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think so.
- 3:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so it's been great.
- 3:17Dayna Roselli: And the home game that we had here at the stadium was on fire.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: We talked about that before.
- 3:21Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of people actually around the country commenting about that when they were watching the game on TV.
- 3:26Dayna Roselli: Um, something else that has been happening, actually, let's see, because I always forget when we record this, when it airs.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: Well, anyway, recently you and I were at Resorts World, and something that was happening uh there was called Psycho Vegas, Psycho Las Vegas.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: And it was packed.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: You and I were at Resorts World, and in our tips coming up, we're gonna tell you about a margarita that we found there that we love.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: But let's just talk about when we walked in, how we were like, what is going on?
- 3:55Dayna Roselli: Then the people we met were like, What is going on?
- 3:58Dayna Roselli: And then someone else that joined us was like, What is going on?
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: And we were all like, What is going on?
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: But it was Psycho Vegas.
- 4:04Sean McAllister: It was.
- 4:05Sean McAllister: So this is a four-day, three-night music festival.
- 4:08Sean McAllister: They had over 130 bands playing at different venues around Resorts World, and it brought in a crap load of people.
- 4:18Sean McAllister: When we listen, when we tell you we walked into Resorts World and we're like, where are we?
- 4:24Sean McAllister: What is going on here?
- 4:26Sean McAllister: Like it was packed with people.
- 4:28Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: And I'm not gonna even call this a stereotype.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: I'm just gonna say it, everyone was in black and black t-shirts.
- 4:33Dayna Roselli: And yeah, yeah.
- 4:34Sean McAllister: It was kind of like a punk festival.
- 4:36Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: So we were like, there's gotta be something like rock and roll going on, something related to that.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: And so then finally we hit Google in our press releases, and we were like, oh yeah, I totally forgot.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: It's this weekend.
- 4:47Dayna Roselli: So it was three days, four nights, like you said, 130 bands from around the world, uh, Merciful Fate, Method Man, Tobacco, a lot of bands I've never heard of.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: Emperor.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: And apparently it brought them out.
- 5:01Dayna Roselli: So love to see that.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: It was a Sunday night, and you and I were going, man, what I I feel we felt like it was busier on that night than we had actually ever seen it, like even on a weekend.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: So I think the the closest thing that I had seen to it was the opening night of Resorts World with that many people just jam-packed into that property.
- 5:22Sean McAllister: It was a good sight to see.
- 5:24Sean McAllister: Um it seems like it was a great event that obviously drew in a ton of people, very well attended.
- 5:32Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 5:32Sean McAllister: Um, so who knows?
- 5:33Sean McAllister: Maybe that's gonna end up being uh an annual thing at Resorts World now.
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I'm glad that it went off without a hitch and people seem to like it, like you said.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: So they even had like a scavenger hunt and stuff and like tournament level gaming, all sorts of stuff, activation.
- 5:46Dayna Roselli: So hopefully Psycho Las Vegas will return to Las Vegas again next year.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 5:51Sean McAllister: Somewhere else that uh we just popped into over the last few days, we went to Wakuda, which is kind of a Japanese grill over at uh the palazzo.
- 6:04Sean McAllister: And it was first of all, just walking in, it's so visual and vibrant.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: It was beautiful.
- 6:11Dayna Roselli: And you and I couldn't make the opening, so we knew we wanted to get over there eventually because there was a lot of buzz about this restaurant, and it's right across from Lavo at the Palazzo, right near the front desk, really.
- 6:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that ends up.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: Right in that big atrium area.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: And what used to be there?
- 6:24Dayna Roselli: We were just discussing.
- 6:25Sean McAllister: Uh, that was Morel's.
- 6:26Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 6:27Sean McAllister: Morel's steakhouse.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they totally redid it.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: Anyway, we were like, we need to go in there, at least um grab some food items, have some drinks.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: And so we did that, and we sat into the in the lounge part, not the main restaurant, and it was gorgeous.
- 6:40Sean McAllister: It was.
- 6:41Dayna Roselli: And they have a patio, and then we walked into the restaurant part to look at that.
- 6:45Dayna Roselli: That was great, and it was busy too.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: And that again was like a Tuesday night.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, we were shocked to see how you know busy it was.
- 6:53Dayna Roselli: We had some sushi, which was great.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: What do we have?
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: That crab, crab kind of a sushi was it was like stuffed with crab or made with crab, and it was coming out.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: Anyway, look at our picture on Twitter.
- 7:04Sean McAllister: Oh, that was a soft shell crab that roll.
- 7:07Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: See?
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: I knew you'd have the answer.
- 7:10Dayna Roselli: You were looking at me like, yeah.
- 7:12Sean McAllister: I was going through my Rolodex of memories, and I just couldn't get there super quick.
- 7:16Sean McAllister: I know, but it took a minute.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: We had a lot of food that night too.
- 7:19Dayna Roselli: We kept going, well, now we should try this.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: Now we should try that.
- 7:21Dayna Roselli: Isn't that always the way?
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: You're like, oh, we're just gonna have a little snack.
- 7:24Sean McAllister: Uh-huh.
- 7:25Dayna Roselli: But then when the snacks pile up, you're like more full than you were if you were just to sit down and have dinner.
- 7:31Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was.
- 7:32Sean McAllister: I mean, the the um Canadian lobster was delicious.
- 7:36Sean McAllister: Yes, that was really good.
- 7:37Dayna Roselli: They had a lot of vegetarian options too.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: Our friend was with us who is vegetarian, and she was ordering some separate things, and it was a great menu.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: The cocktails were really good.
- 7:48Dayna Roselli: The weight staff was very helpful as well.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: Um, but if you want some cool pictures too, go to Wakuda.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: They've got some really, really pretty decor, lots of art on the wall, and we have a video on our Instagram that you can go check out at Vegas Revealed.
- 8:04Sean McAllister: Well, kind of switching from Japanese food to country music, Dana, one of your buddies who you've known for years and who puts on a great show, um, you just sat down with him again, Sam Riddle.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I filled in over at KTNV on the morning blend, and Sam had written me a direct message and said on Twitter and said, Hey, I've got this, you know, benefit concert coming up.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: Could I come on and talk about it?
- 8:28Dayna Roselli: I said, Well, matter of fact, I'm doing this show, so come on.
- 8:30Dayna Roselli: And Sam is great.
- 8:32Dayna Roselli: Sam, I have seen open for many acts and also do his own concerts or benefit concerts in the past.
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: Great performer, tons of energy.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: He really brings the house down.
- 8:42Dayna Roselli: And I was telling him, even on the show, I can't remember exactly who I went to see.
- 8:47Dayna Roselli: And he opened for them.
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: And it was like he was way better, and I'm just this, my personal opinion, way better than the actual main act because of the energy that he brought.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: So um, Sam is having a benefit concert over at The Space, which is a great spot just off the strip here in Las Vegas.
- 9:05Dayna Roselli: They do a lot of different events there.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: Monday's Dark, a lot of performers, a lot of Broadway performers come and do, you know, more intimate shows there through the years.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: Sam's doing a benefit concert there, and it is on September 3rd at 8 p.m.
- 9:19Dayna Roselli: And it's also National Tailgating Day.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: So there's actually a free tailgate that starts at 5 p.m.
- 9:25Sean McAllister: Oh.
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:27Dayna Roselli: And he's got a new EP out.
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: So we talked about that too.
- 9:30Dayna Roselli: So he's constantly keeping up on new music, which I love.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: And um, I wanted to tell you who it benefits.
- 9:37Dayna Roselli: It benefits the Vegas Strong Charitable Foundation.
- 9:40Dayna Roselli: If you go to see Sam.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: I like that.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: 8 p.m.
- 9:44Dayna Roselli: on September 3rd.
- 9:44Sean McAllister: And Sam has been around here in Las Vegas for years.
- 9:48Sean McAllister: I mean, obviously a big country career, you know, that goes through Nashville, but he's kind of made Las Vegas his home.
- 9:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he said, you know what, he prefers being here.
- 9:58Dayna Roselli: And his music, it's country, but a little, you know, he's a little rock and roll too.
- 10:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:03Dayna Roselli: Wouldn't Daniel Marie would say that, right?
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll.
- 10:08Dayna Roselli: But no, Sam, yeah, he so I feel like I get why, you know, he's kind of back and forth and doesn't kind of plant his roots there in Nashville.
- 10:15Dayna Roselli: But yeah, he loves it.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: And he says, you know, De Vegas is the place for him, and he really has a soft spot for the community and always doing good.
- 10:23Dayna Roselli: So kudos to Sam Riddle.
- 10:24Dayna Roselli: Look him up.
- 10:25Dayna Roselli: He's got some great music.
- 10:26Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 10:27Sean McAllister: Um, you know, after the actually during the pandemic and after, we kept talking about how uh like visitor traffic was going to rebound, but the big question was how convention business was going to rebound here in Las Vegas.
- 10:44Sean McAllister: Fortunately, it seems like convention calendars are starting to be more full again.
- 10:50Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 10:50Sean McAllister: I know some people have gone to like kind of virtual things, they've tested the virtual stuff.
- 10:54Sean McAllister: They're like, you know what?
- 10:56Sean McAllister: We'll keep going with this.
- 10:57Sean McAllister: But a lot of people are also saying that you you really miss out on a lot of in-person connection when you do things that way.
- 11:05Sean McAllister: The good thing is that Las Vegas is doubling down on conventions.
- 11:10Sean McAllister: Uh, there's a big convention space over at Caesars that opened within the past couple years.
- 11:16Sean McAllister: MGM built new convention space.
- 11:18Sean McAllister: And now uh Circa in downtown Las Vegas is opening a huge convention space of their own.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I'm excited about this because I feel like there, I mean, there's there are places to have conventions downtown, but not tons of places.
- 11:33Dayna Roselli: So I think an additional hotel that will offer that only is going to bring in more business and it'll be a great place.
- 11:40Dayna Roselli: Circa will be a great host for conventions, I think.
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: Um, you and I were invited to an event that we can't make, so we are kind of bummed about it where they're gonna unveil, but I'm sure we'll have lots of pictures and videos and stuff that we can put up.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: But um, you know, they're having activations and things like that.
- 11:54Dayna Roselli: But Circa, you know, known for being a 21 and over resort.
- 11:59Dayna Roselli: Um, they are known for Stadium Swim, their incredible sports book.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: They've got some great restaurants in there, Barry's Prime.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: So now to have convention space add to that, it's gonna be great.
- 12:09Sean McAllister: Well, and Derek Stevens owns other properties down on Fremont Street.
- 12:15Sean McAllister: He owns the D, the Golden Gate.
- 12:17Sean McAllister: So presumably, you know, when they bring convention business in at Circa, they'll they should be able to offer some great uh hotel rates too.
- 12:28Sean McAllister: Yeah, some great package deals.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: And it's a good way to showcase a new property, right?
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: I have so many friends that have come into town that come in regularly and they say, Oh, what's circa like?
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, how could you have not, you know, because we live here, you haven't been to Circa yet, or you haven't been to Resorts World yet.
- 12:42Dayna Roselli: But I think, you know, people who haven't, right?
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: It'll bring them in, recommend it to others, get people to keep coming back.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: So really wise for them to open a convention area.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: I think it's gonna be great.
- 12:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, it is.
- 12:54Sean McAllister: It's smart, it's smart, and we'll need to make sure that we get over there and and see it in person at some point, since unfortunately we can't make it to the big grand opening.
- 13:04Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 13:04Dayna Roselli: Well, and it's interesting because uh we have a mutual friend who went down to the Golden Gate with his kids, and he wanted to just check it out because he heard it was one, you know, the oldest hotel in downtown and stuff.
- 13:15Dayna Roselli: And and they I don't want to say got kicked out.
- 13:18Dayna Roselli: I'm using the wrong word, not like kicked to the curb, but just got asked to leave because kids are not allowed in the Golden Gate either.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: You have to be 21 and over.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: And the same, I don't know, is it the same thing with the D now?
- 13:28Dayna Roselli: But but you know, the Golden Gate is another one of Derek Stevens' properties, so I know he's making his properties, you know, adult only.
- 13:34Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think it's kind of a growing trend down on Fremont Street because I believe the El Cortez also went 21 and over.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: Right.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: So there are a handful of places down there that are just for adults.
- 13:49Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:49Dayna Roselli: So I I I forgot about that, and I forgot that he had, you know, owned the Golden Gate and put that rule into place there too.
- 13:56Dayna Roselli: So a little reminder if you're going downtown.
- 13:58Dayna Roselli: Um, but speaking of that, a lot of things are changing, even on Fremont Street, and I know we looked into this a little bit more.
- 14:04Dayna Roselli: We talked in the past about how uh they were kind of discussing if Fremont Street should go 21 and over after a certain time or on the weekends.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: And um it was on the table and being discussed.
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: There was nothing we didn't think ever decided, but then all of a sudden, like literally the following weekend, we're seeing tweets and people sending us text messages saying, hey, look at this sign.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: Fremont is now like 21 and over after I think nine o'clock, and it was like a Friday night or something.
- 14:32Dayna Roselli: So we looked into it.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: Right.
- 14:34Sean McAllister: And so apparently this issue did go in front of Las Vegas City Council, and they debated it, and it was essentially a decision on it was just tossed out.
- 14:44Sean McAllister: They were like, you know what, we're not gonna, this isn't an issue that we're going to deal with right now.
- 14:49Sean McAllister: But but the interesting thing is what the Fremont Street district did um as a venue, uh they went to the city and filed for a special permit to make age restrictions go into effect for an ongoing special event.
- 15:10Sean McAllister: So they got a permit for a special event that covers Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays every weekend from uh in July, early July when this started, and it goes through uh November 27th.
- 15:23Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 15:24Sean McAllister: So Thanksgiving weekend.
- 15:25Sean McAllister: Um, this permit covers uh this special event.
- 15:29Sean McAllister: Apparently, on the permit, it was uh the special event was called Festivis.
- 15:34Sean McAllister: Okay, which if you're a Seinfeld fan, you'll get the the reference there.
- 15:39Sean McAllister: Um but yeah, so this was just a workaround that is apparently allowed um you know for these special events.
- 15:49Sean McAllister: It's a music and entertainment event, is how the the permit labels every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday down at the Fremont Street Experience.
- 15:59Sean McAllister: So there was not official city action taken on it, but a permit was granted and makes sense.
- 16:05Sean McAllister: Now they can impl implement uh age restrictions.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that answers our question, right?
- 16:09Dayna Roselli: Because we were like looking it up, going, well, what what I don't understand.
- 16:13Dayna Roselli: It hasn't been voted on yeah.
- 16:14Dayna Roselli: So, okay, so and um I see two different things.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: One says 8 p.m.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: and one says 9 p.m., but it starts around 8 or 9 p.m.
- 16:21Dayna Roselli: And you have to go through apparently a metal detector and get a bag check too for some of the entrances, and then you know, probably ID check.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: Um, so you've got to be uh 21 and over to 5 a.m.
- 16:33Dayna Roselli: So all night long.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: And apparently they have an increased law enforcement presence there on well, I can't speak today.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: There will be also an increased law enforcement presence there on the weekends.
- 16:44Dayna Roselli: How about that?
- 16:45Sean McAllister: Now we got it.
- 16:45Sean McAllister: Got it.
- 16:46Sean McAllister: Now we got it.
- 16:46Sean McAllister: So yeah, just keep that in mind.
- 16:48Sean McAllister: If downtown Las Vegas is in your plans and you have younger people with you, they'll be left out.
- 16:57Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 17:00Dayna Roselli: But hopefully it's safer.
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: Um speaking of downtown, they've been having a lot of free concerts.
- 17:05Dayna Roselli: It's called the Downtown Rocks free concert series.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: And I've been seeing a lot of people go to these.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: They've had good bands, right?
- 17:13Sean McAllister: Like some nostalgic bands, too.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: And one that really we looked at the schedule and really kind of like piqued our interest.
- 17:22Dayna Roselli: We were like Stone Temple Pilots.
- 17:23Dayna Roselli: So Stone Temple Pilots are playing for free, you know, on Fremont Street.
- 17:28Dayna Roselli: And yes, they are.
- 17:29Dayna Roselli: Um, it's November 19th.
- 17:32Dayna Roselli: They are part of the Downtown Rocks free concert series.
- 17:35Dayna Roselli: They're Saturdays.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: Uh, all these concerts.
- 17:38Dayna Roselli: This one is specifically November 19th.
- 17:40Dayna Roselli: Some of them start at 7, some of them start at 9.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: So check the schedule.
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: But hey, you can go see Stone Temple Pilots.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: And I don't know, maybe it's a big deal to us because we're like 90s kids.
- 17:49Sean McAllister: Of the era.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: But um, I think that's a great show to be able to see free.
- 17:55Sean McAllister: It is.
- 17:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:56Sean McAllister: But again, keep in mind it does fall under that special event time zone period.
- 18:02Sean McAllister: So if you have kids who like Stone Temple Pilots, they can't come.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: Wah wah wah.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: I'll say it again.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: I'm like the sound effect today.
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: All right, we got some good tips coming up, though.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: Should we get to it?
- 18:13Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 18:18Sean McAllister: So, you know, Dana, I love a good margarita.
- 18:22Sean McAllister: But what always kills me is like that sour mix that's in there.
- 18:27Sean McAllister: It gives me the worst heartburn.
- 18:29Sean McAllister: Right.
- 18:30Sean McAllister: And so I'm always regretting my decision to have margaritas later on in the night.
- 18:36Sean McAllister: But we found a place where it kind of takes away the heartache and heartburn of having margaritas.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you're like, it's the smoothest margarita we've ever had.
- 18:45Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was light.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we met our friend over at Viva Inside Resorts Worlds, a restaurant by Ray Garcia.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: And I think I've mentioned I went there one other time before.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: However, I didn't have a margarita.
- 18:59Dayna Roselli: So this time they said, Hey, can we bring you some margaritas?
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: We said, sure.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: So um, anyway, this also this restaurant, just so you know, is like a fresh take on Latin cooking.
- 19:08Dayna Roselli: So um they have lots of different dishes, but they brought out our margarita and it had salt in the foam instead of on the rim.
- 19:15Sean McAllister: Yeah, so there was a layer of really light foam on top of the margarita.
- 19:22Sean McAllister: And when we sipped it, we were like, wait a second, the salt is already in here?
- 19:27Sean McAllister: They were like, Yeah, it's in the foam.
- 19:29Dayna Roselli: We were like, oh, I love it.
- 19:31Dayna Roselli: It just didn't seem as harsh, you know?
- 19:33Sean McAllister: No, it didn't.
- 19:34Dayna Roselli: It was really good.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: So we were able to have one or two.
- 19:37Sean McAllister: Well, and that's the thing when when you get a margarita and the salt is on the rim, like you have to like lick the side of the glass to get the salt, then take a sip.
- 19:48Sean McAllister: So this took away all of the extra steps.
- 19:50Sean McAllister: Everything was already right there in the glass.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and yeah, I know.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: And you were saying to me after you were saying, I'd go back there just for the margarita, right?
- 19:57Sean McAllister: The margarita and the dessert.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the dessert was great too.
- 19:59Dayna Roselli: Those churros.
- 20:01Dayna Roselli: And we were with our friend Perez Hilton, who he says he loves, you know, Mexican restaurants, and he was he said those were like the best churros I've ever had.
- 20:08Sean McAllister: They really were incredible, excellent.
- 20:12Sean McAllister: Oh, they were so crispy and cinnamony, sugary on the outside, but the inside was like melted in your mouth.
- 20:19Sean McAllister: It was just it was good, so good.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: I'm not even a huge dessert person, and I was like, though, that was a good churro.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: Um, we also really loved the, and I don't know how if I'm gonna say it right.
- 20:32Sean McAllister: Chicharone?
- 20:33Sean McAllister: The chicharron, yeah.
- 20:34Dayna Roselli: Chicharone, yeah.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: That was delicious.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: We had some grapefish, some ribs, and we had like a, was it like a scallop in a shell?
- 20:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was scallops, but it was a little bit.
- 20:45Sean McAllister: It was like a scallop ceviche served in like a fancy shell.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was good.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: Beautiful presentation, too.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: We had lots of different things there.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: If you've uh want to check out kind of a different sort of restaurant when it comes to like that's what I was saying, like I don't want to want to call it Mexican, but it was Latin-inspired dishes, you know.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: Um, lots of appetizers, they had their seasonal ingredients, um, shareable plates, all that kind of thing.
- 21:11Dayna Roselli: So check it out.
- 21:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, a little bit of everything.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: Viva by Ray Garcia, right there in the district at Resorts World.
- 21:18Sean McAllister: And another food tip for you, and Dana, this one is very friendly on the pocketbook.
- 21:25Dayna Roselli: I mean, you and I were reading about this.
- 21:27Dayna Roselli: Actually, we saw a video.
- 21:28Dayna Roselli: I think it was on TikTok, and we went, wait, how come I've never heard of this?
- 21:32Dayna Roselli: Well, I've heard of it, but I didn't know that everything on the menu for lunch is$5.99.
- 21:38Dayna Roselli: And I'm talking about Ocean One Bar and Grill at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.
- 21:44Sean McAllister: It's right by the rainstorm where the rain comes out of the ceiling.
- 21:47Sean McAllister: And you know, they have the thunder and lightning, all that.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: Well, the restaurant's like right there.
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: Well, the video said, you know, don't be nervous if you see a line, because that happens, but it moves really quick, apparently.
- 21:59Dayna Roselli: Um$5.99 on the lunch menu, and I'm talking everything, Sean, from the like spinach and artichoke dip to the beef tacos, chicken Santa Fe tacos, buffalo chicken wrap, half-pound sirloin burger.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: You can get grilled salmon, uh penny pasta, spaghetti and meatballs.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: Yes, everything's$5.99.
- 22:21Sean McAllister: So that's not even like a small meal.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: It's unreal, this menu.
- 22:27Dayna Roselli: And you looked up the time.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: So lunch time is a long period of time, too.
- 22:32Sean McAllister: Uh online it said 11:30 to 5 p.m.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: So good chunk of time there to get in on the$5.99 menu.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: Another perk, Sean, this one's for you.
- 22:43Dayna Roselli: Always three for one cocktails.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: Oh.
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: And the cocktails are 11 bucks.
- 22:48unknown: Three.
- 22:48Sean McAllister: Three cocktails for 11 bucks?
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 22:52Dayna Roselli: All day, every day, by the way.
- 22:55Sean McAllister: I don't even do math, but I know that that's a good deal.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: And I think I read somewhere else on the website that the beers are$3.49, too.
- 23:03Dayna Roselli: Man.
- 23:03Dayna Roselli: So I mean, this is a bargain.
- 23:05Dayna Roselli: You know, from now on, when we take clients out to lunch, I'm gonna suggest Ocean One because it saves us money.
- 23:11Sean McAllister: We should like get a standing reservation.
- 23:14Sean McAllister: A standing lunch reservation.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: Right?
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: Um, browsed at the dinner menu and stuff, and they've got a lot of$11.99,$8.99,$9.99 on the dinner, and then the breakfast uh menu, I think was mostly around$8.99.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: So, but the lunch,$5.99 on everything.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: Unreal.
- 23:29Sean McAllister: But even the breakfast and dinner, the prices are extremely reasonable.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 23:35Dayna Roselli: I mean, a three cheese omelet,$8.99.
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: Eggs Benedict, two.
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: Don't know what that means.
- 23:42Dayna Roselli: If it's$4.2 or there's two of them,$9.99.
- 23:45Dayna Roselli: Eggs Florentine,$7.99.
- 23:47Dayna Roselli: Scrambled eggs,$5.99.
- 23:50Dayna Roselli: Uh, French toast,$7.99.
- 23:52Dayna Roselli: Pancakes,$5.99.
- 23:53Dayna Roselli: Healthy start breakfast,$5.99.
- 23:55Dayna Roselli: Croissant sandwich,$5.99.
- 23:58Sean McAllister: So there's still a lot that you can find for$5.99.
- 24:00Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 24:02Dayna Roselli: I feel like I'm doing like uh, you know, one of those commercials where you shout out the prices.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: One of those.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: Anyway, they have Ocean One uh Bar and Grills all over Florida, but this is the only Las Vegas location, and they also call it Las Vegas' busiest restaurant.
- 24:17Dayna Roselli: So there you have it.
- 24:18Dayna Roselli: You and I have never been, and we definitely need to make a stop there soon.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: If you go, if you hear this on Vegas Reveal, please send us a note.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: Tell us how you liked it, um, what you liked on the menu and that kind of thing, and how many cocktails you had.
- 24:30Sean McAllister: Yes, that's the important part.
- 24:32Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 24:33Sean McAllister: I think we uh have a lunch at Ocean One Grill in our future.
- 24:37Dayna Roselli: And I'm sure that you can find it on the Vegas Near Me app, who is the sponsor of our podcast.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: Brand new app that has launched.
- 24:45Dayna Roselli: The beta version is out.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: We want you to download it.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: We have a link, an exclusive link just for you in our show notes.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: You'll fill out a quick form, a couple things you need to put down your email, all that.
- 24:57Dayna Roselli: You'll get an email with the instructions.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: Download it.
- 25:01Dayna Roselli: It's the coolest app.
- 25:03Dayna Roselli: It's got everything in there.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: You can book an Uber, you can find if something's open, close, when it's opening again, the age.
- 25:10Dayna Roselli: You can go right inside the hotels and look around.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: If you want to find where's the closest restroom, where can I go find uh the high limit slots, you name it.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: It's got everything on there.
- 25:20Dayna Roselli: So check it out.
- 25:21Dayna Roselli: Vegas near me, and it's got like every restaurant you could ever imagine listed.
- 25:25Sean McAllister: Including Ocean One Bar and Grill.
- 25:28Dayna Roselli: You've got it up right there.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: I see it.
- 25:29Sean McAllister: Looking at it.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: So that's a podcast, everyone.
- 25:33Dayna Roselli: Um, I'm doing a little bit of out-of-town visiting with my family over Labor Day.
- 25:39Dayna Roselli: So Sean and I will have another podcast next week for 133, but we're gonna kind of take a look at the fall, how the fall's shaping up, what the concert schedule's like, a lot tons of festivals and what else is going on in Vegas.
- 25:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, give you a little bit of time to plan if uh Vegas is in your fall plans.
- 25:58Sean McAllister: And if it's not in your plans, we're gonna make it part of your plans.
- 26:01Sean McAllister: Please do it.
- 26:02Sean McAllister: Have a great week, everyone.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Shopping at the forum, Vasaki and Button.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: Let's go to Vegas, baby.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: Let's go in the house.
- 26:16unknown: Let's go in the
