- 0:47Speaker 1: with a Southern drawl, and oh my god, love it.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Now I want to it's pro niche. I love the man.
- 0:58Speaker 3: That's going to stay there. It's going to be there.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Most people would be offended by the man. I like
- 1:02Speaker 1: the man. Yeah, it's it's beautiful.
- 1:04Speaker 3: It's a respect thing and I definitely respect. Yes, ma'am.
- 1:06Speaker 3: So it's gonna be there.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I love that.
- 1:08Speaker 4: So, but your first name is Darren Darren. Yes, so
- 1:11Speaker 4: you want me to address you as pro You.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Can address me as you like, but it's it's pro
- 1:16Speaker 3: or like the rest of the world. But you call
- 1:18Speaker 3: what you want to.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Call it, okay, just don't call me late for dinner,
- 1:20Speaker 4: all right? Yes, yes, So tell me about yourself.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Tell me about your your your music rapper.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I'm a music artist, yes, ma'am.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, rap and sing, yes, ma'am. Why do I
- 1:34Speaker 1: feel like you have this most beautiful voice?
- 1:37Speaker 3: It's okay, you know, I get a little help in
- 1:39Speaker 3: the studio, you know, but it's it's okay. It's it's
- 1:41Speaker 3: definitely a blessing.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And how did you did you start singing at a
- 1:45Speaker 1: young age?
- 1:46Speaker 3: I actually didn't. I got into it first. I just started.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I wasn't even really a rapper starting off. I was
- 1:52Speaker 3: always an athlete my entire life. And then I got
- 1:56Speaker 3: into it actually by jem Master Jason. I met his
- 2:00Speaker 3: son and his son was like, you look like a rapper.
- 2:04Speaker 3: It's like, no way, you know. He was like, but
- 2:07Speaker 3: I did write because you know, mental health. I'm really
- 2:09Speaker 3: big on mental health. Started writing and he was like, man,
- 2:13Speaker 3: this is good. You know you should actually pursue it.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Start pursued it for a little bit, and I was
- 2:17Speaker 3: just like, uh nah, my cousin seeing a lot of
- 2:21Speaker 3: my raps, and she was like, oh, no, you need
- 2:23Speaker 3: to pursue this, like you're really good. If she ever
- 2:25Speaker 3: would have said it was bad, I probably wouldn't be
- 2:28Speaker 3: sitting here with you right now. But she she said
- 2:30Speaker 3: it was good and keep going.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And I understand that. There's a lot of women that
- 2:36Speaker 1: were like.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Why, I can't see why because you're so handsome, I mean,
- 2:41Speaker 4: and so and so.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I could see why.
- 2:44Speaker 3: I appreciate it. Your gorgeous also definitely appreciate it.
- 2:49Speaker 4: So but in a rapid community, that's most music. I mean,
- 2:53Speaker 4: I'm going to say, but it's misogynistic women, you.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Know, and I agree with you, it definitely is.
- 2:59Speaker 4: And you know, and this society now, I mean, you
- 3:03Speaker 4: talk about me too, and talk about all this other
- 3:05Speaker 4: full crap.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Is it.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I'm understanding that that is not your genre. You're not
- 3:13Speaker 4: that misogynistic, So no misogyny and none of it.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah, would never be disrespecting women and call on them
- 3:19Speaker 3: bees or you know, all those misogynistic words and phrases.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Is You're never going to get that out of me.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I love that smell.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I love that and you will. That's why women like
- 3:29Speaker 1: you music.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I appreciate that.
- 3:30Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I definitely I want to turn a corner. I don't
- 3:33Speaker 3: talk about killing, I don't talk about shooting, none of that.
- 3:37Speaker 3: A lot of my music is just love music, and
- 3:39Speaker 3: a lot of it is, you know, begging to get
- 3:42Speaker 3: the girl back, you know, or trying to take the
- 3:44Speaker 3: girl out on date and bring flowers and you know,
- 3:47Speaker 3: saying I love you. Y'all want to turn a corner
- 3:48Speaker 3: on music and bring it back to the nineties, early
- 3:52Speaker 3: two thousands. Love music, and that's what all my music.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I was just going to say that.
- 3:56Speaker 4: I was just going to say that that's the kind
- 3:57Speaker 4: of music that I grew up than I love. Yes, yes, ma'am,
- 4:03Speaker 4: it's that's that's that's really that's really inspirational, something that
- 4:09Speaker 4: a lot So give me.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Tell me what inspired your first first song? Was it
- 4:14Speaker 1: a girl?
- 4:15Speaker 3: Yeah? Most of them are, yeah, yes, ma'am. You know
- 4:19Speaker 3: I wasn't the so I actually grew up ugly. I'm
- 4:24Speaker 3: just going to say put it out there. I grew
- 4:25Speaker 3: up I was not the most attractive I was, I
- 4:28Speaker 3: wasn't attractive. I wasn't attractive. So then somehow just started
- 4:33Speaker 3: getting the girls. I don't know, just woke up one
- 4:35Speaker 3: day and was getting the girls. And then I was
- 4:38Speaker 3: always the type of like, oh I wish I could
- 4:40Speaker 3: have the beautiful girl. Then I actually ended up with one,
- 4:42Speaker 3: and then two, and then three came. You know, I
- 4:45Speaker 3: didn't know how to say no, you know, because it
- 4:47Speaker 3: wasn't that I was trying to be a player. I
- 4:49Speaker 3: just didn't not to say no. So then I grew
- 4:52Speaker 3: out of that life. You know, when I when I
- 4:55Speaker 3: actually got my heart broke by the one that I
- 4:56Speaker 3: definitely did once. So I started about that, yes does
- 5:00Speaker 3: it yes, ma'am for sure.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Yeah, so that it was a bad heartbreaking.
- 5:05Speaker 3: It was bad.
- 5:06Speaker 1: How old were you?
- 5:07Speaker 3: I was twenty four.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Okay, so you were an adult? Yeah it was sixteen.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, ma'am.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Yeah, she did a number on it.
- 5:14Speaker 3: She did a number. Yeah. It was definitely karma because
- 5:18Speaker 3: I was you know, I never blatantly played the girl
- 5:22Speaker 3: like just wanted to be the man. It was just
- 5:24Speaker 3: I didn't know to say no. When I was finally
- 5:26Speaker 3: getting the girls, and when I when I stopped trying
- 5:30Speaker 3: to be when I learned how to say no is
- 5:33Speaker 3: when I got my heart broke by the one that.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I wanted, and that's what usually usually happened.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it happened that one.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so that was it was a bad It
- 5:42Speaker 4: was a bad breakoup.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Yes, it was.
- 5:43Speaker 1: How long we were together.
- 5:45Speaker 3: About a year and a half. Yeah, and I just
- 5:48Speaker 3: knew she was the one at the time. So that
- 5:50Speaker 3: whole year and a half was wedding plans, all of that,
- 5:54Speaker 3: everything I wanted to do, and just didn't go that route.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And that was it.
- 5:59Speaker 3: That was it.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I was it.
- 6:00Speaker 4: So she in So you're like kind of like the
- 6:02Speaker 4: rapper Taylor Swift.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Broken, Yes, and yes that's what it is. Thank you
- 6:09Speaker 3: telling Swift. I definitely appreciate you, look forward to working
- 6:12Speaker 3: with you.
- 6:12Speaker 4: I think she desperately, she just goes out with people
- 6:14Speaker 4: just to break up with them, So she goes I think.
- 6:18Speaker 1: You every song is about her heart being broken.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's going to the bank with it though. Yeah, yes,
- 6:27Speaker 3: thank you tellers. So definitely appreciates you, sweetheart.
- 6:30Speaker 1: So you so you wrote this song about her?
- 6:32Speaker 4: Can I we don't have to talk about her anymore?
- 6:35Speaker 1: It's too boding. How old are you now?
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I am thirty two.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Okay, so this is a long time a minute ago, okay, yes,
- 6:43Speaker 1: So that's so you wrote this song about her, and
- 6:46Speaker 1: that's what kind of unfolded, yes, ma'am. And was it
- 6:50Speaker 1: a rap song? Was it? Was it singing or singing?
- 6:53Speaker 3: It was both? It was it was one of I have.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I don't have any song that's all wrapped, but I
- 6:58Speaker 3: have songs that are all singing, but a lot of
- 7:00Speaker 3: them are rapping and singing.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I love that. I love that.
- 7:04Speaker 4: So now, so how did you so once you start,
- 7:07Speaker 4: once you wrote this on what happened like you just started?
- 7:11Speaker 1: Dude said you met.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Jag his son, and is that and did you decide
- 7:17Speaker 4: to say, hey, do you want to listen to this?
- 7:19Speaker 3: And oh well, I met him before I was even
- 7:23Speaker 3: doing any music. And then later on I stopped music
- 7:27Speaker 3: for a while. And then what happened with that was
- 7:32Speaker 3: I blew up on TikTok over COVID. I don't know how.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I just made one video. It just went just crazy.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And then I was like, I was not planning on
- 7:41Speaker 3: being on TikTok. It was just I just made the
- 7:43Speaker 3: page and put one video on there so people can
- 7:45Speaker 3: actually like they come to the page, they be like, Okay,
- 7:47Speaker 3: this is who page it is. I wasn't gonna post again.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Somehow just blew up on it off that one video
- 7:53Speaker 3: all in God's plan. And after that, I was going
- 7:57Speaker 3: live for a while on the video talk and they
- 8:01Speaker 3: were like, you like a rapper you know again, do
- 8:03Speaker 3: you do music? And I was like, yeah, I do
- 8:04Speaker 3: do music. Haven't did music in two three years, so
- 8:08Speaker 3: they were like, yeah, let me hear something. So you know,
- 8:10Speaker 3: I went to the studio recorded that right away and
- 8:14Speaker 3: things just took off on there.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Having looked back, Wow, that's amazing.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it is blessing.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Are you Are you going to be touring or anything
- 8:23Speaker 4: like that?
- 8:23Speaker 3: That's in all of my plans. I definitely hope. So yes, ma'am, mom,
- 8:26Speaker 3: I get shows. I just did a show in Tampa. Mom,
- 8:29Speaker 3: actually have a show coming up in Zimbabwe, South America.
- 8:33Speaker 3: That's a lesson. So I'm taking what I can get
- 8:34Speaker 3: right now. And yeah, once we get to the point
- 8:37Speaker 3: where I can just tour as much as I want,
- 8:39Speaker 3: I'm going to take everything that I can get because
- 8:41Speaker 3: it's actually is a passion and I love I love
- 8:43Speaker 3: doing it. I love the crowd's energy. Anytime I can,
- 8:47Speaker 3: I will.
- 8:49Speaker 1: So, do you have a girl in your life right now?
- 8:51Speaker 3: There's a girl in my life my life, yes, ma'am.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Plans of getting married yet or.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Now I'm a lover boy. I want to get Yeah, yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 3: I'm definitely, I'm I think yeah, definitely. Yeah, I don't
- 9:06Speaker 3: have any yet, but I'm going to be the best
- 9:08Speaker 3: father to ever deserve. So I'm definitely waiting on that.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Your parents were both they both raised your parents.
- 9:17Speaker 3: My dad actually died in nine to eleven, so yeah,
- 9:20Speaker 3: you know, and my mom, ma'am.
- 9:23Speaker 1: So you have a good, strong mom. We could tell.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Yeah, she's strong.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Story.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Yes, ma'am.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Definitely raised the good son.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I appreciate that. It means the world.
- 9:30Speaker 1: She must be very proud of you.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah she is. I'm proud of her as well. She's
- 9:35Speaker 3: you know, she really grew up in Jersey, about thirty
- 9:37Speaker 3: five years in New Jersey. So yeah, So what part
- 9:40Speaker 3: of New Jersey Atlanta City, Pleasantville? Yeah, yeah, yes, ma'am. Yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 3: I'm there all the time to love it.
- 9:46Speaker 1: And but now you live in in the South.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I live in Atlanta right now. Yeah, I moved there
- 9:51Speaker 3: for music.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And you like Atlanta on.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Record, I'm gonna say I love it. I love it.
- 9:57Speaker 3: It's the best thing that ever happened to me. Off
- 10:02Speaker 3: the record. The traffic can go and some of the
- 10:06Speaker 3: rude people definitely can go. Yeah, yeah, yes, ma'am.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Because it's pretty. It's pretty big city now like Atlanta.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Like for me, I know, thirty, I mean years ago,
- 10:16Speaker 4: when I was in my late twenties. I mean, it
- 10:19Speaker 4: was just starting to erupt where It's like it was
- 10:21Speaker 4: getting you know that everybody was moving there and it
- 10:25Speaker 4: was like, you know, the place to go. Now it's
- 10:28Speaker 4: become like it is now, like very densely populated down
- 10:32Speaker 4: and a lot it's a lot going on there.
- 10:34Speaker 3: It's a lot going on there, yes, ma'am.
- 10:37Speaker 1: So you so you you moved to Atlanta four.
- 10:40Speaker 3: For music, Yes, ma'am.
- 10:42Speaker 1: And I mean, what but you didn't want to stay
- 10:44Speaker 1: in New York's for music?
- 10:46Speaker 3: You know what. I'll travel for music. You know, Johnny
- 10:50Speaker 3: has me going everywhere, and I have no problem doing
- 10:53Speaker 3: I booked the flight in the second like I'm going
- 10:55Speaker 3: to Zimbabwe. I'll go anywhere for music. It's actual passion.
- 10:59Speaker 3: I'm not just do it for the money, even though
- 11:01Speaker 3: I love forou to come. I don't mind going anywhere
- 11:04Speaker 3: for it, but.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It will follow, you know, yes? Are you? Are you way?
- 11:10Speaker 1: Are you a religious person?
- 11:11Speaker 3: I am?
- 11:11Speaker 1: I could tell for sure.
- 11:13Speaker 3: I definitely give God all the praise, and I manifest
- 11:16Speaker 3: every single day. I believe in law of attraction. I
- 11:19Speaker 3: wouldn't be sitting here without without God and without manifesting
- 11:22Speaker 3: every single day of my life.
- 11:24Speaker 1: You have such a good energy.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I appreciate that.
- 11:26Speaker 4: So do you.
- 11:28Speaker 3: So do you?
- 11:29Speaker 1: Oh my god, you're making me blush.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I'm serious, blessed, I'm serious, Yeah, yeah.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but so do you? Are you? Are you you
- 11:39Speaker 1: go to church?
- 11:40Speaker 3: Yes, ma'am.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Wow, Sunday church.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Not you mean like Sunday Oh yeah, Sunday school.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Like Sunday school, but actual Sunday church.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Yes, ma'am.
- 11:55Speaker 1: You sing the church.
- 11:56Speaker 3: I do not sing in church. I was singing in
- 11:58Speaker 3: church as a kid and just never happened again after that.
- 12:03Speaker 3: But but I plan on. Like we were just talking
- 12:06Speaker 3: about the money, ain't even a it's I want to
- 12:10Speaker 3: give so much back to the churches. I want to
- 12:12Speaker 3: give so much back to Foster Care. I want to
- 12:14Speaker 3: give so much back to the poor people. So to me,
- 12:17Speaker 3: that is my ten percent of just singing in the church.
- 12:22Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, like singing in church that
- 12:23Speaker 3: you're working in the church, but me working outside of
- 12:25Speaker 3: it is definitely I want to get back to the churches, yes, ma'am.
- 12:28Speaker 4: And you're such a it's such a you're so you're
- 12:32Speaker 4: so wonderful. You have such a great like or like
- 12:35Speaker 4: about you know, like you're just and obviously well you're
- 12:38Speaker 4: very h of course you're very handsome, you very nice,
- 12:42Speaker 4: you have a.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Beautiful way about you.
- 12:44Speaker 4: So I could see why people are they are attracted to,
- 12:47Speaker 4: especially women.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Obviously, thankful for that, Thankful for my followers as far
- 12:53Speaker 3: as that, thank you for my fans as far as that.
- 12:55Speaker 4: So, I mean, any temptations because you're on social media,
- 12:59Speaker 4: because I mean we don't obviously, would you start getting
- 13:01Speaker 4: more famous and you get out there, you know that
- 13:04Speaker 4: temptation you could.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Come back temptations. I don't ever want to get involved
- 13:09Speaker 3: with a fan and you know, end urt their feelings
- 13:12Speaker 3: or just not messing their life up. I don't mess
- 13:16Speaker 3: people life up. But no, just as a fan, I
- 13:19Speaker 3: just appreciate you being a fan of mine.
- 13:22Speaker 4: So you keep it at that, keep it, keep it
- 13:24Speaker 4: at that. Say that's good, and that's what's going to
- 13:26Speaker 4: keep you surrounded and that's why you're gonna get where
- 13:29Speaker 4: you're going to where you want to go.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Yes, man, I appreciate that I received that.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Thank you. So what are your plans like now? After so?
- 13:37Speaker 1: How many did you have an album out?
- 13:39Speaker 3: Or is it just I'm doing singles right now? Yes, ma'am.
- 13:42Speaker 3: I'm waiting until I get like a little I'm not
- 13:46Speaker 3: where I want to be, but I'm where I never
- 13:48Speaker 3: thought I would be. People know me all over now
- 13:51Speaker 3: with such a blessing, but I want to be a
- 13:55Speaker 3: little further before I put out a whole ep of album.
- 13:58Speaker 3: So right now I'm just pushing sing like it's just
- 14:01Speaker 3: constantly doing like that. But once I feel like okay,
- 14:03Speaker 3: I'm there, I'm gonna put a whole album out.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Are you? Are you writing new singles.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Now every day?
- 14:10Speaker 1: Every day?
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yes, ma'am. What do you do?
- 14:12Speaker 1: Just like, what's your process?
- 14:14Speaker 4: So let's just say, is it when you start thinking
- 14:18Speaker 4: about a song like you, what is your.
- 14:21Speaker 1: How does it happen?
- 14:22Speaker 3: So it's two different processes. Something can actually happen in
- 14:24Speaker 3: my life, and then I'll be like, Okay, I'll put
- 14:26Speaker 3: it on my notes with my phone. I'll write about this,
- 14:28Speaker 3: or I can hear a beat and I'll just sit
- 14:31Speaker 3: there probably for an hour hour and a half from
- 14:34Speaker 3: no more than that, and just listen to the beat,
- 14:36Speaker 3: just keep listening, and I'm like okay, and then I'm
- 14:38Speaker 3: gonna go from there. I know a story I can
- 14:40Speaker 3: put to this because it has to have substance, just
- 14:42Speaker 3: not no regular everyday music has to have the substance
- 14:45Speaker 3: to it. And then after that, I just come out
- 14:48Speaker 3: with a hit as far as it, yes, ma'am. So
- 14:50Speaker 3: those are the two different processes.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Can you give me a couple of little lines? You
- 14:55Speaker 4: gotta give me a little little tasty you wrap singing?
- 14:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, ma'am. Yeah, I give you a rap. I
- 15:01Speaker 3: give you I guess the lover boy, give.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Me ten seconds. I'm not going to put you.
- 15:06Speaker 3: On a sinking the warm up for that. I told
