Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites the Parlay episode. I am Schad
- 0:12Speaker 1: Noelman of the Action Network. I am joined as I
- 0:15Speaker 1: am every Monday by my favorite people at the Action Network.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Jeff Schwartz, eight years in the NFL as an offensive lineman,
- 0:24Speaker 1: Paula Duca, ten years in the major leagues, four time
- 0:28Speaker 1: All Star catcher, fellas. I'm gonna explain to people what
- 0:33Speaker 1: our goal is each and every week, which is to
- 0:36Speaker 1: choose a nine team parlay looking ahead to the weekend's
- 0:41Speaker 1: action in college football in the NFL. This is everybody's
- 0:43Speaker 1: first chance to get an early jump on the numbers.
- 0:47Speaker 1: And doing this made me money last weekend because Jeff
- 0:54Speaker 1: Schwartz was adamant about the Seahawks. I jumped on the
- 0:57Speaker 1: Seahawks at seven and a half. I actually bet him
- 1:00Speaker 1: twice by accident at seven and a half, and I
- 1:02Speaker 1: made significant units. We're gonna choose nine teams. We're gonna
- 1:07Speaker 1: make twenty dollars. My boys, my brothers. Polly, I know
- 1:14Speaker 1: you had a tough time in the texting to you. Wanna.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Jeff's already laughing at you. See that my talk about
- 1:22Speaker 1: talk about what Deshaun Watson, Deshaun Watson, did you Here's
- 1:27Speaker 1: what happened? This is so like. Here's the thing about
- 1:30Speaker 1: Schwartz is such an r A A A router against
- 1:32Speaker 1: her is that he knew I got used in at
- 1:34Speaker 1: the bad number I had used in the three. I
- 1:36Speaker 1: didn't know this. You knew it. If you did? You
- 1:39Speaker 1: rubbing it in. I like to rub it in, Paul.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Sometimes too with you is because you take it like
- 1:48Speaker 1: exactly how I expect you to debate. Every single time
- 1:51Speaker 1: you were like you get just you know what I like.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I like sending your text bass without yo, Paul. You're
- 1:57Speaker 1: on full tilt and you give me just the best answer,
- 1:59Speaker 1: not not like like no emojis, no like ignoring me.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I get like three paragraphs back from you, and I
- 2:05Speaker 1: could just feel the venom through the text message. And
- 2:08Speaker 1: that's why I do it. I don't do it to
- 2:11Speaker 1: mock you. I do it so I get the full
- 2:13Speaker 1: Polly action when I need it. So I'm at I'm
- 2:17Speaker 1: chilling out my girls watching the game. Nothing's happening. This
- 2:20Speaker 1: is just the buckles just not going anywhere. So as
- 2:23Speaker 1: it guys, again, where are you? I'm getting time going home?
- 2:28Speaker 1: I turn on the radio. They start driving and then
- 2:32Speaker 1: the past inference with DeAndre Hopkins Indians on I didn't
- 2:36Speaker 1: and didn't see it. Just now I know the balls
- 2:39Speaker 1: on the one yard line. I'm literally screaming on Elsa
- 2:43Speaker 1: Goundo in the four oh five, get under center, put
- 2:48Speaker 1: him under center, and I hear the guy in the shotgun.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm like, this guy is an absolute joke. This is
- 2:54Speaker 1: a joke. This is a joke. They run alf blue loss.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Then he goes under center from a quarterbacks from like
- 3:00Speaker 1: the seventeen yard line, and then he I mean like
- 3:04Speaker 1: he should have kicked the field goal at half. I
- 3:06Speaker 1: almost ran into the meeting in the four o five.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Put it that way. It was very close around around
- 3:13Speaker 1: Lennox or Carson somewhere in that area. How bad was it, Polly?
- 3:18Speaker 1: It was not good. Here's the thing, Like I I
- 3:22Speaker 1: texted Shorts. I had like with one guy with one
- 3:26Speaker 1: book at three and then three I got into three
- 3:29Speaker 1: and a half and it was still the right side.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I mean, it was God, it was awful. It was awful.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Dak Prescott's awful, The Cowboys are awful. And Bill O'Brien
- 3:41Speaker 1: has no hair on his testicles. Uh, the right side
- 3:48Speaker 1: the winning side. He had the right side. My dad
- 3:52Speaker 1: always did tell me, it's not not her son. You're
- 3:56Speaker 1: gonna learn this in the long run, it's not who
- 3:58Speaker 1: wins or loses to collects the bets I had under
- 4:02Speaker 1: that game. So I was pleasantly surprised with the Texans
- 4:05Speaker 1: play calling. That was it. I gotta say a kidney
- 4:12Speaker 1: blow right that I got. I feel like I would
- 4:15Speaker 1: love for you guys. I would love for you guys
- 4:21Speaker 1: to live together. I feel like we had like we
- 4:23Speaker 1: should put me in black Jack Fletcher. We do the
- 4:26Speaker 1: podcast on Fridays together in an apartment for like a month,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and you too should live together in an apartment for
- 4:34Speaker 1: a month. It would be the greatest reality show ever.
- 4:37Speaker 1: It would be Felix and Oscar and the odd couple
- 4:39Speaker 1: like for It would be hilarious. I told you this chat.
- 4:44Speaker 1: We need to we need to get together on a Sunday.
- 4:46Speaker 1: You need to get everyone and actually network together. You
- 4:49Speaker 1: to invite either some some action network, die hard you
- 4:52Speaker 1: know some people who follow us, uh, follow everything we do.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Invite him over to the office wherever we do this
- 4:57Speaker 1: at or webcam, Paris go something. Just have us sitting
- 4:59Speaker 1: there watching all the games with all our tickets in
- 5:02Speaker 1: our hands or wherever you want to do, our phones
- 5:04Speaker 1: in our hands, whatever it is, and just watch us
- 5:06Speaker 1: react to a whole sunday of NFL action. I'm glad
- 5:12Speaker 1: you bring that up, Jeff Sports. You know why you
- 5:15Speaker 1: can do that for me by reading Millman's Red Zone
- 5:20Speaker 1: Diaries and Action Network Dot hum where right. Thank you, Polly.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I give you the blow by blow of what my
- 5:27Speaker 1: day is like because you're in your mansion though no
- 5:31Speaker 1: one really you're like, that's not that's a little different.
- 5:33Speaker 1: It's very emotional. It is. You can see it. It's emotional.
- 5:37Speaker 1: You try balancing and you can appreciate this. Try balancing
- 5:42Speaker 1: being a husband, being a father, trying to lose all
- 5:45Speaker 1: your money, and only wanting to sit in the couch
- 5:47Speaker 1: for seven hours. Like Jeff, I want you to tell
- 5:50Speaker 1: the people yesterday you had the most adorable picture on
- 5:53Speaker 1: Twitter of you taking your four year old son Alex
- 5:57Speaker 1: to his first ever Carolina Panthers game. Yes, and uh,
- 6:02Speaker 1: I'm assuming you told him son, we need the pack,
- 6:06Speaker 1: we need the Panthers win by side that I was
- 6:11Speaker 1: very hot on the Panthers my six and a half.
- 6:14Speaker 1: It was one of my favorite things I had on
- 6:15Speaker 1: the podcast last week. Um, and it was it was
- 6:19Speaker 1: so so my son. Yes, the first NFL game, first
- 6:21Speaker 1: football game. Um, you know, we kind of hyped him
- 6:24Speaker 1: up for a little bit. I'm not sure he was
- 6:26Speaker 1: as happy for the football as he was to see
- 6:28Speaker 1: like the helicopters outside and and Surper, who's the Panther's mascot,
- 6:34Speaker 1: and just kind of the festivities of the game. And
- 6:36Speaker 1: then we kind of bribed him with a bunch of food,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you know, ice cream and popcorn that all wore off
- 6:41Speaker 1: by at the middle of the first quarter, and we
- 6:44Speaker 1: were gonna. I was ready to go whenever I was
- 6:46Speaker 1: told to do. When you want to go, you let
- 6:48Speaker 1: me know. We got to halftime, he was tired. He
- 6:50Speaker 1: still naps three hours a day, especially on the weekends.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Dude as tired. I'm like, you want to go, and
- 6:55Speaker 1: he goes, No one else is leaving. So I said,
- 6:56Speaker 1: all right, well, so we stayed. We stayed, We stayed.
- 6:59Speaker 1: We get to the fourth quarter. He's chomping on a
- 7:02Speaker 1: big giant pretzel. He's loving life, and I'm watching this
- 7:06Speaker 1: game and it was one of the oddest games I've
- 7:10Speaker 1: seen in person. Um, and the Panthers were clearly better team.
- 7:15Speaker 1: They played sort of that way. They they played the
- 7:18Speaker 1: game like they knew they were better and didn't really
- 7:20Speaker 1: want to be there. Uh. They both quarterbacks through two terrible,
- 7:24Speaker 1: terrible interceptions in the second half. The longest touchdown pass
- 7:28Speaker 1: of the season for the Giants now belongs to Odell Beckham,
- 7:32Speaker 1: who threw a touchdown past to Sakoon Barkley. The Giants
- 7:35Speaker 1: muffeda pint and and and the Panthers scored touchdown. It's
- 7:38Speaker 1: just a very odd game. Obviously we didn't get the
- 7:40Speaker 1: cover there. But three and a minutes are left, it's
- 7:43Speaker 1: fourth and one for the Panthers, um and um, they're
- 7:47Speaker 1: up three. Uh, and then we're getting field orige obviously,
- 7:50Speaker 1: try to solve the game away. And my son turns
- 7:52Speaker 1: to me and goes, Daddy, I want to go now,
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm ready, I'm ready, let's go. And I'm like, um,
- 7:58Speaker 1: all right, take him. So we walked down the stadium
- 8:01Speaker 1: on fourth and one with the Panthers meniyard to maybe
- 8:03Speaker 1: assault the game away. Luckily I live close enough to
- 8:06Speaker 1: the stadium to where um I got home in time
- 8:10Speaker 1: to watch, you know, kick a sixty three yard field
- 8:12Speaker 1: well that was good from seventy. I mean, he murdered
- 8:15Speaker 1: that ball. So at least the Panthers won that game. Um,
- 8:19Speaker 1: the Giants like give them credit, but they're just not
- 8:21Speaker 1: very good. I know they played Thursday night, UM this
- 8:24Speaker 1: week at home. UM, but they're just they are there.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I can't bet on them anymore. I just can't. I
- 8:29Speaker 1: can't bet for them again. I've bet I think all
- 8:31Speaker 1: four of their games this year, and I mean I'm
- 8:34Speaker 1: like O for four. I just I can't do it anymore.
- 8:37Speaker 1: You live close enough to the stadium that you could
- 8:39Speaker 1: leave that game with three minutes left and still be
- 8:42Speaker 1: home in time to see, you know, kick the game
- 8:44Speaker 1: winning field goal. Yeah, I'm like four minutes. I'm like
- 8:46Speaker 1: four miles from the stadium. I parked right out to
- 8:49Speaker 1: the stadium. I got like, I just paid a lot
- 8:50Speaker 1: of money in park right there. And you got a wow,
- 8:53Speaker 1: you got a four year old out of the stadium
- 8:54Speaker 1: that fast. When you go to the game. When you
- 8:57Speaker 1: go to the game, do as a former NFL player,
- 9:01Speaker 1: do you get recognized or do people say to you, Hey,
- 9:04Speaker 1: you should play for the Panthers. A bunch of Giants
- 9:07Speaker 1: fans said, Hi, they recognized me. You played for the Giants.
- 9:11Speaker 1: You made him a note. Last time the Giants scored
- 9:14Speaker 1: more than thirty points, you were playing for them, I was,
- 9:16Speaker 1: And then they scored thirty points yesterday they still lost. Umlar,
- 9:20Speaker 1: what's a regular football seat to you? So I, UM,
- 9:25Speaker 1: I've been to two games since I retired, and I
- 9:27Speaker 1: actually had never been to a NFL game before I
- 9:28Speaker 1: played it one because in Los Angeles, you know, the
- 9:30Speaker 1: team's left in like ninety four. I think was the
- 9:32Speaker 1: last time in the NFL team was there when I
- 9:34Speaker 1: was when I was a kid. So, um, I've been
- 9:38Speaker 1: to two games, and I Panthers games. I get tickets
- 9:41Speaker 1: from one of the players, and the Panthers do. It's
- 9:43Speaker 1: kind of interesting. Um. If they can't sell all their
- 9:46Speaker 1: wheelchair aisle tickets, they give them to the players. So
- 9:48Speaker 1: I actually had a really good seats. There were on
- 9:50Speaker 1: the forty yard line the first level of the wheelchair aisle,
- 9:53Speaker 1: so I had leg room I being ready to go.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I did not get sideline passes. I tried to get them.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Balt my son to Chief's game next year for my brother. Um,
- 10:04Speaker 1: and we'll get silent passes. Um. And you know I
- 10:07Speaker 1: don't know if he'll like it or not, but he here.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I give him credit. Man, Like he's not terribly in
- 10:12Speaker 1: the sports. My daughter loves like, she just loves. Maybe
- 10:16Speaker 1: she was talking about football. She loves talking about it. Um.
- 10:19Speaker 1: But it was a good it was a good first
- 10:21Speaker 1: outing for him. I was, I was. I was proud
- 10:22Speaker 1: of him, excited for you. That could be a great thing.
- 10:25Speaker 1: My kids hates winning with bribing love. It's the key.
- 10:31Speaker 1: It's the only way you can get him to do anything.
- 10:34Speaker 1: It is true. You know what we should do. Okay,
- 10:38Speaker 1: we should pick a nine team parlay. Let's do it,
- 10:42Speaker 1: Jeff Schwartz, I want you to dominate this week. I
- 10:45Speaker 1: am feeling so good about what's going to happen with
- 10:48Speaker 1: these nine teams. It's almost as if I'm having some devu.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I almost feel like I almost feel like I know
- 10:57Speaker 1: which way this is gonna go. Hul recapit last week
- 11:00Speaker 1: or no, let's forget it. It doesn't matter, Paul. Let's listen,
- 11:07Speaker 1: let's move let's move along. All right. So every time
- 11:12Speaker 1: we get the email for these lines, it kind of
- 11:14Speaker 1: takes a second to look at it and be like, oh,
- 11:15Speaker 1: this is this is this one looks good as one
- 11:17Speaker 1: looks good, So I think I found one that's that's
- 11:19Speaker 1: absolutely fantastic. To start us off with the Bengals at
- 11:23Speaker 1: home as a short home favorite two and a half
- 11:26Speaker 1: against the Steelers. The Bengals are four and one, folks there,
- 11:31Speaker 1: four and one. They have the third best record NFL
- 11:33Speaker 1: right now, behind the Rams and the Chiefs are both
- 11:35Speaker 1: five and Oh. They play great on defense, they on offense,
- 11:39Speaker 1: they're able to run the ball. Now, Andy Dalton's doing
- 11:41Speaker 1: what he's doing kind of being the quote unquote game manager.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You have obviously got a J. Green, you got John
- 11:46Speaker 1: Ross playing better this year. And the thing about this
- 11:48Speaker 1: game I think is important to me as I get
- 11:51Speaker 1: that little hook there two and a half. But also
- 11:53Speaker 1: I know what I'm getting from the Bengals on Sunday.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I know the type of effort and the team I'm
- 11:58Speaker 1: getting there. Down seventeen points the Dolphins yesterday came back
- 12:01Speaker 1: in Dolphins by the way, huge frauds all of a sudden,
- 12:05Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm here from the Steelers week to week.
- 12:07Speaker 1: The Steelers to me are two up and down for
- 12:09Speaker 1: you to bet on them. I love the Bengals here
- 12:13Speaker 1: Boom they are so falling into my wheelhouse of short
- 12:20Speaker 1: home dog, I mean short home favorite or home dog.
- 12:23Speaker 1: As we've discussed. You can read all about it in
- 12:26Speaker 1: Millmann's bed own Diaries actually Network dot Com. But that's
- 12:30Speaker 1: my theory. You know, Like I'm with you, man, it's
- 12:34Speaker 1: gonna be hard this week. There's a lot of those games,
- 12:36Speaker 1: a lot of short home favorites, a lot of home dogs,
- 12:38Speaker 1: a lot of teams that are like trash. But this
- 12:41Speaker 1: is one where it feels like you're getting that half
- 12:43Speaker 1: point of value. Paula, you can say something, but we're
- 12:47Speaker 1: playing this game. No, I love it. I mean I
- 12:50Speaker 1: had to sweat out the under. I had the under
- 12:52Speaker 1: in that game, and the Cincinnati defense made it almost
- 12:56Speaker 1: an over because Miami had the ball in the fifteen
- 12:59Speaker 1: yard line, had and took a out in the end
- 13:00Speaker 1: zone because they scored two defensive touch at the second
- 13:02Speaker 1: half of that game. I watched all second half. Their
- 13:05Speaker 1: defense was absolutely destroying Ryan Tannehill. He had nowhere to go.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Lontes is perfect. He's just an animal. He needs to
- 13:14Speaker 1: stay away from his bad hits um. He had a
- 13:17Speaker 1: couple of yesterday penalties, but when he is on the field,
- 13:20Speaker 1: they are a different defense and they are for real.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And Schwartz, he makes a good point, like when Andy
- 13:26Speaker 1: Dalton he doesn't make mistakes, you know, like Joe Mixon
- 13:29Speaker 1: has been good, I mean like he has been really good.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Like I'm sort of with him. You hate to always
- 13:36Speaker 1: get fooled by the Bengals because they're they can be
- 13:38Speaker 1: fool's goal, but I think they're good. We're not going
- 13:41Speaker 1: to be fooled. We're gonna be winners. Okay. So you
- 13:47Speaker 1: always talk about getting value in short favorite and that's
- 13:52Speaker 1: the New England Patriots minus three against the other. Schwartz
- 13:58Speaker 1: is Chiefs. He's crazy the time you need to fade
- 14:04Speaker 1: Pat Mahomes. And the reason why is, oh my god,
- 14:08Speaker 1: that's such a deep side from Jeff Schwartz, right, I
- 14:11Speaker 1: know he doesn't he doesn't. He doesn't like this because
- 14:14Speaker 1: this isn't my I might be a good side, considering
- 14:17Speaker 1: he has a good beat on on the Chiefs. But
- 14:19Speaker 1: not only is he an r air, he's a d
- 14:21Speaker 1: s R. He's a deep sire. He's like Al Gore
- 14:24Speaker 1: in the Debates of two thousand, like he can't hide
- 14:27Speaker 1: his dismay and disgust. Is the Kansas City defense, the
- 14:32Speaker 1: Kansas City defense and Blake Bortles had I mean, listen,
- 14:35Speaker 1: he was throwing balls off people's helmets. If he was
- 14:38Speaker 1: not making mistakes, Jackson was moving the ball, and it
- 14:42Speaker 1: was a little scary if you did have Kansas City.
- 14:44Speaker 1: But then their defense sort of you know, they're good
- 14:47Speaker 1: against the run. But let me tell you something. Tom
- 14:51Speaker 1: Brady is gonna throw for about four yards and Pat
- 14:54Speaker 1: Mahomes is going to have to deal with that umbrella defense.
- 14:57Speaker 1: And I know he's a little bit different than Alex Smith,
- 15:00Speaker 1: but I think the value now is going towards and
- 15:04Speaker 1: there's a lot of money on the Kansas City side,
- 15:06Speaker 1: which is strange, but we saw that before when there
- 15:09Speaker 1: was a lot of money on the Miami side until
- 15:10Speaker 1: we found out they were phony, and then New England
- 15:13Speaker 1: put them to sleep, um and then New England put
- 15:16Speaker 1: you know, I think New England's gonna put them to
- 15:18Speaker 1: sleep this this week. And this is the lowest year
- 15:20Speaker 1: ever gonna get in New England at this value. Well,
- 15:24Speaker 1: I I've stayed away from taking Chief's lines just because
- 15:27Speaker 1: my brother is obviously playing and I just I just
- 15:31Speaker 1: I feel weird like betting on a side. Now, I
- 15:33Speaker 1: love the over here with a ton of points. It's
- 15:36Speaker 1: at fifty nine. Now, uh, you have the Chiefs defense
- 15:40Speaker 1: and look, the Jaguars of an awful job of exploring
- 15:42Speaker 1: their defense. There they threw sixty one times. The Chiefs
- 15:45Speaker 1: are giving up five and a half yards to carry
- 15:47Speaker 1: and Jackson was one of the best rushing teams in
- 15:49Speaker 1: the NFL. And rush the ball, I believe, like thirteen
- 15:51Speaker 1: times with their running backs atrocious, New England will not
- 15:53Speaker 1: make the stame mistakes. But on the on the flip side,
- 15:57Speaker 1: New England's defense cannot rush the passer. They cannot do it.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And I get it, Paul, you want to sit back
- 16:02Speaker 1: and play that that that deep coverage, the you know
- 16:04Speaker 1: the drapp eight rush three or maybe you you know
- 16:06Speaker 1: you're sitting in a cover two look out of out
- 16:09Speaker 1: of a four down front. But um, that's when the
- 16:12Speaker 1: homes has been has been his best. The first first
- 16:14Speaker 1: three weeks of the year. Teams are not pressuring the
- 16:16Speaker 1: Chiefs and he's been able to throw the ball around,
- 16:18Speaker 1: find the holes in the seams of that zone. And
- 16:21Speaker 1: then you had Denver and you have Jacksonville. Try to
- 16:23Speaker 1: blitz him a little bit and yesterday's runn all over
- 16:25Speaker 1: the place making plays. Um, the you're you're right about
- 16:29Speaker 1: the value game New England. You're very rarely gonna get
- 16:31Speaker 1: them as a three point favorite at home. I like
- 16:34Speaker 1: to over here, but I guess I I'm not disagreeing
- 16:37Speaker 1: that the value here is with New England. Can I
- 16:40Speaker 1: say something? Yes, We're gonna go in New England here
- 16:45Speaker 1: because I think Paul He's right. The right side here
- 16:47Speaker 1: is New England. You're getting him at a very short
- 16:50Speaker 1: number if you can get in New England and minus
- 16:51Speaker 1: three at home. Uh. A wise man once said on
- 16:57Speaker 1: a television show called Sports Center, you don't make money
- 17:03Speaker 1: betting against Bill Belichick as less than a touchdown favorite
- 17:09Speaker 1: as at home. That wise man it was Chad Mellman.
- 17:16Speaker 1: We we have we don't have a side action on
- 17:18Speaker 1: this podcast. How many times Chad matches? He went on
- 17:20Speaker 1: Sports Center. Yeah, by the way, let me have a
- 17:23Speaker 1: problem that every every week, how many how many NFL games?
- 17:27Speaker 1: I got a research, how many NFL games have gotten
- 17:29Speaker 1: to sixty as the total? Well, that's gonna be my
- 17:33Speaker 1: broader point other than humble bragging, is let's go with
- 17:38Speaker 1: New England, and my pick is gonna be on the
- 17:41Speaker 1: total in this game. But now it's at fifty nine,
- 17:45Speaker 1: I feel like we should take the under. So I
- 17:51Speaker 1: tried that this week. I took the under the Falcon
- 17:53Speaker 1: Steelers and the thought and it's just a late tosh
- 17:55Speaker 1: on to to get over. But I don't now I
- 17:59Speaker 1: person think about over because why not. But I personally
- 18:02Speaker 1: think the unders probably if you look at it, you
- 18:05Speaker 1: know there's eighty five percent in publics on the over.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Right now. I felt the under is gonna end up
- 18:10Speaker 1: being the sharp play. Yeah, yeah, because Belichick is gonna
- 18:15Speaker 1: probably play that. I think you're under estimating this. That
- 18:21Speaker 1: that the zone thing. Dude like Mahomes, if if you
- 18:24Speaker 1: send a zone, he will pick them apart that deep
- 18:29Speaker 1: Brady Brady will destroy that defense. What New England's gonna
- 18:32Speaker 1: do market Town right now, They're gonna run the football
- 18:34Speaker 1: and they're gonna eat. They're gonna shorten the game up
- 18:36Speaker 1: and not allow Mahomes to have as many opportunities. And
- 18:39Speaker 1: that's and that's the problem with the Chiefs. Eventually, at
- 18:41Speaker 1: some point it's gonna happen in the playoffs. Already I
- 18:43Speaker 1: can already feel it is. When your defense is that bad.
- 18:48Speaker 1: It forces your offense to have to be perfect on
- 18:51Speaker 1: every single possession. I've been on the team in Giants,
- 18:54Speaker 1: we were thirty second in defense. I lost the game
- 18:56Speaker 1: in the Super Dome fifty two forty nine. Like, it's
- 19:00Speaker 1: ard on offense to have to be perfect at least
- 19:02Speaker 1: two mistakes, and eventually's gonna cost them. It might be
- 19:04Speaker 1: this game, it might be the game where New Orleands
- 19:07Speaker 1: just moves the ball at will on Kansas City. They
- 19:08Speaker 1: run the ball, they shore the game up. Instead of
- 19:11Speaker 1: getting let's say eight possessions or nine possessions, the Chiefs
- 19:13Speaker 1: get seven possessions and they have to be perfect on
- 19:16Speaker 1: all seven. That's hard to do. It's hard to offense
- 19:19Speaker 1: to have to do that every single week. Under Boom,
- 19:25Speaker 1: we got three kicks. We got three picks. I feel
- 19:28Speaker 1: good about these three. I like him. I like him
- 19:31Speaker 1: a lot. We still got to Paul's crazy college pick yet,
- 19:34Speaker 1: so we haven't even gotten to like any college picks yet.
- 19:37Speaker 1: We'll get there, Well, we'll get there, all right. Give
- 19:42Speaker 1: me Oakland plus three at home against the Seahawks. We've
- 19:47Speaker 1: seen home underdogs have had a great start this season.
- 19:50Speaker 1: We saw Buffalo obviously, we saw Philly two weeks ago,
- 19:53Speaker 1: going to Tennessee and lose that game. As as as
- 19:55Speaker 1: Tennessee was a home dog. We saw even Seattle last
- 19:58Speaker 1: week the game we talked to the start about here's
- 20:00Speaker 1: it with Oakland. Um, they are a very sporadic team,
- 20:03Speaker 1: but offensively, while car has struggled, they're starting to kind
- 20:06Speaker 1: of get things together. Sunday was was a setback in
- 20:09Speaker 1: Los Angeles. I think they will bounce back from that.
- 20:12Speaker 1: They're back at home now. Um, you have a Seattle
- 20:15Speaker 1: team who played well in Arizona well enough two weeks
- 20:18Speaker 1: ago and one they kind of played the best game
- 20:21Speaker 1: they might play as far as their entire team in
- 20:24Speaker 1: one game and lost the Rams. I think they're gonna
- 20:26Speaker 1: feel a little bit deflated come into Oakland. Oakland's Nina
- 20:29Speaker 1: when they're one and four, kind of back against the wall.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I don't really like John Gruner what he's done, and
- 20:34Speaker 1: this is kind of against my idea of fading the
- 20:36Speaker 1: Raiders all year. But home dog getting three points, I
- 20:40Speaker 1: just in Seattle is going on the road again in Oakland.
- 20:42Speaker 1: They don't play well on the road. I think Oakland
- 20:45Speaker 1: Oakland covers this game. Look, I am gonna go with
- 20:51Speaker 1: a home dog, as is my theory. But I will
- 20:55Speaker 1: tell you this, I don't think Derek car is a
- 20:58Speaker 1: very good quarterback. In fact, I think he's kind of
- 21:02Speaker 1: a bad quarterback in a good quarterbacks contract based on
- 21:07Speaker 1: one decent year. I've watched a lot of these Oakland games.
- 21:11Speaker 1: He can't throw the ball downfield. He throws a freaking
- 21:14Speaker 1: balloon if it goes more than forty yards. Here, they
- 21:17Speaker 1: cook every down. It's he's not good. It's not good. Jeff,
- 21:23Speaker 1: I'm going with you. I'm gonna beat with you, but
- 21:26Speaker 1: it's not Does everybody going the shotgun from the one
- 21:28Speaker 1: yard line? It's been I will give this one. Yeah,
- 21:32Speaker 1: Marshawn lynch ate his helmet again? Uh, Like, I don't,
- 21:38Speaker 1: I don't get it. Like the play calling has not
- 21:40Speaker 1: been great. So like, there's been a couple of games.
- 21:43Speaker 1: They did beat the Browns at home though, right, that
- 21:45Speaker 1: was a giant square. Yeah, that was a miracle. That
- 21:48Speaker 1: was a miracle. I'll tell about the car. They gotta
- 21:52Speaker 1: start running the football. No, Yeah, their offensive line is
- 21:55Speaker 1: much better than they need to run the football. But
- 21:57Speaker 1: here's the deal with offensive coordinator, especially guy like John
- 21:59Speaker 1: Gruden's I played with it in this West Coast branch
- 22:01Speaker 1: with any reading goes. They love to pass the ball.
- 22:03Speaker 1: They all love to pass the ball. Oh c's get
- 22:05Speaker 1: paid to pass the football. They don't get paid to
- 22:06Speaker 1: run the football. They want to throw as much as possible.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I agree they should be running the football more. Think
- 22:12Speaker 1: about car It's really interesting, Chad that you brought up
- 22:15Speaker 1: how he struggled. Him and Mariota, we're kind of on
- 22:18Speaker 1: their way to being the next kind of set of
- 22:21Speaker 1: quarterbacks to excel in the NFL, especially young quarterbacks. They
- 22:24Speaker 1: both broke their leg on the same day, it would
- 22:27Speaker 1: have been in twenty sixteen, and they have both not
- 22:31Speaker 1: been the same quarterback since then. And it's all I mean,
- 22:34Speaker 1: the injury they had. I had the same injury, you know,
- 22:37Speaker 1: for a quarterback like that. They there, they should be fine,
- 22:40Speaker 1: but they both look like their confidences shot. They're not
- 22:43Speaker 1: throwing the deep ball well anymore. It's it's very odd
- 22:46Speaker 1: to me how they both have just not been the
- 22:48Speaker 1: same guy since that injury. Hey, you know, we should
- 22:52Speaker 1: do we should get a pool going on how often
- 22:53Speaker 1: Jeff Schwartz can say I had that injury. That would
- 22:57Speaker 1: be very often because I've been very injured. I know
- 23:02Speaker 1: you're just salty because of the Sports Center coming and
- 23:04Speaker 1: it's okay. I mean, we allly got two references so
- 23:06Speaker 1: far today someone say sports Center, that was a sports
- 23:10Speaker 1: Center on Sunday, and there's probably three in your column.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I haven't read it yet because I'm being prepared for
- 23:15Speaker 1: our podcast. Is this is this what preparation looks like?
- 23:22Speaker 1: This is? Yes? Are we on Oakland plus three? Yes?
- 23:27Speaker 1: All right, Polly, Yes do it baby. I was on
- 23:31Speaker 1: Sports Center when Chris Berman called me Paul Livin Levita
- 23:35Speaker 1: lo Duca. That's amazing. You both have been on Sports
- 23:39Speaker 1: Center for real reasons. I've never been. Well, I'm sure
- 23:43Speaker 1: there was a highlight where you were on sports Odell
- 23:46Speaker 1: caught that pass. I was the first one down there.
- 23:48Speaker 1: There you go that. That is like one of the
- 23:50Speaker 1: most amazing things every Lauduca. What is the best highlight
- 23:57Speaker 1: you've ever been on Sports Center for? Oh, when I
- 23:59Speaker 1: made the catching the dug out for the Dodgers, or yeah,
- 24:04Speaker 1: just because it's been it's like the top I think
- 24:08Speaker 1: it's top thirty nine, or it's thirty nine or top
- 24:10Speaker 1: fifty of all time. I'm in that area. But it's
- 24:14Speaker 1: just like Vin Vince Scully voice. It just makes it.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I can It's been viewed I don't know how many times,
- 24:24Speaker 1: probably like times, and I'm I've on YouTube, I've probably
- 24:28Speaker 1: viewed it. So the other hundred people that have viewed
- 24:32Speaker 1: it probably loved Vince voice too, but he just makes
- 24:35Speaker 1: it so much better. The best play day of my life,
- 24:39Speaker 1: and it's probably more than that, Okay, um, the best
- 24:42Speaker 1: day of my life is when my I'm not gonna
- 24:44Speaker 1: lie to you, my bubble head came out right and
- 24:47Speaker 1: I had a bubble head day in My nephew said,
- 24:51Speaker 1: Uncle PAULI is a toy and I like that. That
- 24:56Speaker 1: sort of hit me like I made it no exactly
- 25:00Speaker 1: ration because you you you're always your mindset when you
- 25:03Speaker 1: get to the big leagues. Everybody always tells you it's
- 25:07Speaker 1: easier to get there than it is to stay, and
- 25:09Speaker 1: it's hard to heck to get there. So your mindset
- 25:12Speaker 1: is always like I got somebody behind me, you know,
- 25:14Speaker 1: I got some big Hungary had David Ross behind me,
- 25:17Speaker 1: I had Russell Martin behind me. Those guys were all
- 25:19Speaker 1: behind me. So I was like, you know, mind mindset, mindset,
- 25:22Speaker 1: and then it was like I can relax. How was it?
- 25:25Speaker 1: Two time hall star? I'm here, you know, twenty seven
- 25:29Speaker 1: thousand views. It's a great catch. No, I'm just saying
- 25:33Speaker 1: you can't make that catch anymore. Well because well because yeah,
- 25:36Speaker 1: because don't have that foul ground and Dodgers stay name anymore.
- 25:39Speaker 1: And is that Garmo motor pitching? You? Sure you can
- 25:42Speaker 1: beat me in the forty see those wheels? Sure she
- 25:44Speaker 1: sounds longer legs than you. Pretty good? Like like I
- 25:48Speaker 1: kind of made that place standing up by the way,
- 25:50Speaker 1: if we did live together, it'd be like the tweed
- 25:52Speaker 1: would maybe like twins. It would be so funny, it
- 25:57Speaker 1: would be amazing. Paul, what's your man? Okay, come on
- 26:02Speaker 1: much football? So you want you know you wanted me
- 26:05Speaker 1: to go there? Pac twelve, oh boy, off of bye week.
- 26:15Speaker 1: USC Trojans minus seven against the Colorado Buffalo's book. You
- 26:24Speaker 1: know why. That's why I liked this play because when
- 26:27Speaker 1: I looked at this number, I'm like, wow, this high
- 26:29Speaker 1: Colorado five and oh three and two USC, And you
- 26:35Speaker 1: know everybody thought, okay, USC struggling obviously with J. T.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Daniel as a kid that rolled enrolled early. We know
- 26:42Speaker 1: now Texas is pretty good beating Oklahoma. Yesterday they ride
- 26:47Speaker 1: the ship against Washington State. It was sort of his
- 26:49Speaker 1: coming out party. Um, they went to you have a
- 26:52Speaker 1: beat you of a in Colorado is five and o
- 26:57Speaker 1: and to their wins or against Nebraska, U S in
- 27:01Speaker 1: U c l A both winless teams, so you know
- 27:04Speaker 1: they're the Phonius five and oh and um, I think
- 27:09Speaker 1: off the bye week too, because Daniels another week to prepare.
- 27:14Speaker 1: And I think a lot of people undersell Clay Hilton
- 27:17Speaker 1: and how good of a coach he really is and
- 27:19Speaker 1: what he's done. And I think he's turned the ship around,
- 27:22Speaker 1: and I think it's time for Colorado to get blasted.
- 27:29Speaker 1: There's the deep sigh. There's the d s R right there. Wow,
- 27:33Speaker 1: I mean our air D S sir. I think it's seven.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It's probably a good play. I do think that. You know,
- 27:43Speaker 1: during this week Colorado they play a su they beat them.
- 27:47Speaker 1: If you combine the first four opponents, only one win. Um,
- 27:50Speaker 1: and look they beat Nebraska where Martinez was still healthy
- 27:54Speaker 1: in Nebraska, so that's obviously a big win. U c
- 27:56Speaker 1: l A is really really bad, so that's the game
- 27:58Speaker 1: they had to win. I think Colorado has an opportunity
- 28:02Speaker 1: UM two. With the quarterback they have and then with
- 28:07Speaker 1: Channault the wide receiver, they can make plays. And that
- 28:09Speaker 1: just does worry me with with number this big. But
- 28:12Speaker 1: USC is more talented than Colorado. They are much more
- 28:14Speaker 1: talent than Colorado. So if J. D. Daniels can keep improving,
- 28:18Speaker 1: USC on paper should blow out Colorado. Um. And so
- 28:23Speaker 1: I'm not I think it's seven. It's a good it's
- 28:25Speaker 1: a good play. Anything more than seven, I'd say probably
- 28:29Speaker 1: at the lean towards Colorado. It feels like a challenge. No,
- 28:37Speaker 1: because it depends a challenge. We can We've been all
- 28:38Speaker 1: this time. Challenge has to be two people and so
- 28:41Speaker 1: it's chat. You are the deciding vote on this. What
- 28:43Speaker 1: what is your what is your? You? You have to
- 28:46Speaker 1: trust the right and oh it's Patroll after dark too.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Oh man, you never know what happened to those games?
- 28:52Speaker 1: Well here's my problem. What do you think about the
- 28:54Speaker 1: Colorado defense? Yeah, here's my problem. Chad's expert. Yeah, I've
- 29:01Speaker 1: watched uh, not a single minute of USC, not a
- 29:08Speaker 1: single minute in Colorado. I can't stay up past ten o'clock.
- 29:15Speaker 1: So how am I supposed to weigh in with expertise
- 29:17Speaker 1: on this pick. You know what I'm gonna Paul, Paul.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Paul comes in hot with his college takes. I know
- 29:24Speaker 1: he's drawing the four oh five. He's thinking about how
- 29:26Speaker 1: I was gonna make these picks and hits him in
- 29:32Speaker 1: the face. He's like, USC, I know, USC, So I
- 29:34Speaker 1: I'm kind of I can roll with Paul here. I
- 29:37Speaker 1: was like, listen, you both played in the Pack twelve.
- 29:41Speaker 1: You both aggressively. Yeah, and like Jeff still covers it.
- 29:49Speaker 1: You know, he's got a radio show on serious about
- 29:52Speaker 1: the Pack twelve. Um, but the flip side, if I
- 29:58Speaker 1: can do some deductions here or Paula Duca, as crazy
- 30:04Speaker 1: as he sounds most of the time, does a lot
- 30:08Speaker 1: of work on college football. He loves college football. He
- 30:12Speaker 1: watches college football. He handicaps college football. I'm going with Luduca.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Bring it up, Jeff, You're up next, I'm up next.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I'm up next. Short home favorite, Give me that da da.
- 30:36Speaker 1: The Washington Redskins minus to at home against the Carolina Panthers.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Carolina Panthers do not deserve to be less than a
- 30:44Speaker 1: field goal favorite on the road. Less in a field
- 30:48Speaker 1: goal dog in the road. To anybody Skins are getting
- 30:51Speaker 1: undervalued here, Like people still have animus against Alex Smith.
- 30:55Speaker 1: They aren't recognizing that this defense is still pretty good.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Um to is gonna be a key game. We'll see
- 31:01Speaker 1: him play the Saints. This line might move in either directions.
- 31:03Speaker 1: So you know I'm taking a risk here. Give me
- 31:06Speaker 1: the washington Ians minus two over the Panthers. I really
- 31:11Speaker 1: like this pick for a couple of reasons. You mentioned
- 31:13Speaker 1: Alex Smith. All the guy does is winning the regular season.
- 31:16Speaker 1: That's all he does. Is not a playoff game we're picking.
- 31:19Speaker 1: We're picking a regular season game. Um And you know
- 31:22Speaker 1: I live in Charlotte. I see the Panthers play often,
- 31:25Speaker 1: and I don't know what to make of them week
- 31:27Speaker 1: to week, and so I get a team that I
- 31:29Speaker 1: know to what to expect from watching. I know what
- 31:30Speaker 1: Alex Smith is gonna bring every single game. No, it
- 31:33Speaker 1: might not be his best game, but I know I
- 31:35Speaker 1: know he's gonna bring it. The Panthers to me, are
- 31:37Speaker 1: kind of all over the place. Their center Ryan Cleol
- 31:40Speaker 1: has got injured. I don't know if he's gonna play
- 31:42Speaker 1: uh much this week. Thomas Davis is back from suspension.
- 31:44Speaker 1: He's gonna be a little bit out of it. Greg
- 31:47Speaker 1: Olson may or may not be back. I just feel
- 31:49Speaker 1: like you get Washington is undervalue defense, really good defensive
- 31:52Speaker 1: line with Alex Smith, that run game, his wide receivers
- 31:56Speaker 1: are healthy. Now, I think it's a great pick. I
- 32:00Speaker 1: like the boldness of it because they haven't even played
- 32:03Speaker 1: yet on Monday Night. That's why you're the million monster.
- 32:07Speaker 1: That's why you can reference yourself. That's why you're on ESPN.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Fortune favors the bold, My friends, what what seriously? Like,
- 32:18Speaker 1: would it matter to you at all? How the game
- 32:20Speaker 1: is tonight? Like, I don't think that would matter. Isn't
- 32:22Speaker 1: it week to week? Just every week is different, right?
- 32:23Speaker 1: So you can't really you don't. I don't care about
- 32:27Speaker 1: I don't care about the play to night. I only
- 32:31Speaker 1: care about how it will impact the line. Am I
- 32:32Speaker 1: getting the best of the number right now? Like if
- 32:34Speaker 1: the Skins do something great, I'm totally getting the best
- 32:37Speaker 1: of the number. If the Skins tank, I'd still be
- 32:40Speaker 1: on the Skins next week. Um, but the line might
- 32:43Speaker 1: move And so that's sort of why I haven't bet
- 32:46Speaker 1: it yet. I just don't know if I'm getting the
- 32:47Speaker 1: best of it, right? No, that makes sense? Ye if
- 32:51Speaker 1: you're I'm up. I'm up. All right, we're going back
- 32:54Speaker 1: to pack twelve. I'm an Organ Duck. PAULI is a
- 32:57Speaker 1: sun devil. Organ plays the walk Shinhuskies this week, the
- 33:02Speaker 1: biggest home game Organ has had, well, you can say
- 33:04Speaker 1: since Stanford two weeks ago, but really in a long while,
- 33:07Speaker 1: Washington is our number one hited rival. People might say
- 33:09Speaker 1: Organ State, but that's like our stepsister man. It's like
- 33:12Speaker 1: they're what compete Washington pete with us. We beat him
- 33:15Speaker 1: twelve years in a row. We've now lost the last
- 33:17Speaker 1: two years. Last time this game was played, Organ, Washington
- 33:19Speaker 1: beat US seventy to twenty one. So there's some revenge
- 33:22Speaker 1: factor here. I get three and a half points for
- 33:24Speaker 1: the Organ Ducks. A team off of by a team
- 33:26Speaker 1: with the better quarterback, a team with the better offensive
- 33:29Speaker 1: line right now, A team that that knows that they
- 33:32Speaker 1: are better than they played against Stanford the fourth quarter,
- 33:36Speaker 1: knows that if they win this game, if they beat Washington,
- 33:38Speaker 1: they have a legit chance to win the Pact wal
- 33:40Speaker 1: of North and to win the conference and maybe outside
- 33:43Speaker 1: chance to represent the conference in the playoff as well.
- 33:46Speaker 1: You have Washington now. I called their poor performance against
- 33:49Speaker 1: U C l A and made sense. Kind of a
- 33:51Speaker 1: down week. Bruins aren't very good after playing b y
- 33:54Speaker 1: U Go in Oregon. I think right now Washington's offense
- 33:57Speaker 1: is just too bland and boring. They have to score
- 33:59Speaker 1: a lot of points to compete against Organ and watch
- 34:01Speaker 1: the defense is very good, but I think Organ could
- 34:03Speaker 1: eat him up. So I like Oregan here, plus the
- 34:05Speaker 1: three and a half at home against the Arrival, I
- 34:10Speaker 1: love it. I mean, I almost use this, ah and
- 34:16Speaker 1: the fact that you're homering this makes me want to
- 34:19Speaker 1: play this even more. Uh, that's why I homer the
- 34:23Speaker 1: issue Oregon State pick. When you have a beat, you
- 34:25Speaker 1: don't really want to play. You hate playing your your
- 34:28Speaker 1: your your teams or betting your own teams. I don't,
- 34:32Speaker 1: and I played them because I knew Arizona Oregan States
- 34:35Speaker 1: awful and in in this situation, Jake Browning just doesn't
- 34:41Speaker 1: seem he seems tentative. Chris Peterson seems tentative. Oregon is
- 34:45Speaker 1: very good and like for not just for like four
- 34:49Speaker 1: minutes of this of like whatever happened at the end
- 34:53Speaker 1: of the Standford game, four minutes of their of their season.
- 34:56Speaker 1: They are a better team. You look at them statistically,
- 34:58Speaker 1: they're the top twenty five offense and defense. They got
- 35:01Speaker 1: a better defense than you think, and like Washington does not,
- 35:07Speaker 1: I think the wow factors not there. For me. The
- 35:10Speaker 1: Oregan is way more explosive. The explosive play is gonna
- 35:14Speaker 1: happen on the Oregon side. I called it. I was
- 35:17Speaker 1: talking to Dan Rubinstein about this, who's an Oregon duck
- 35:20Speaker 1: too as well, and it's just there's there's no explosive
- 35:24Speaker 1: anything on the outside. Oregon has it. You know, Washington's
- 35:28Speaker 1: got a grind away thirds and threes, and I just
- 35:31Speaker 1: see Oregon beating him. I do. Dan Rubinstein, contributor to
- 35:35Speaker 1: I'll take that back, host of this slid Verbal podcast,
- 35:38Speaker 1: very talented college football analyst. Um. I look, look, the
- 35:44Speaker 1: only teams I've watched less of than us in Colorado
- 35:48Speaker 1: might be Oregon in Washington. Well, you're lucky Chad this
- 35:53Speaker 1: week because the game is at three thirty eastern. Yeah,
- 35:58Speaker 1: I'm shocked. I couldn't be. I told my wife the
- 36:00Speaker 1: other day on Saturday, so she knows that Sundays after
- 36:03Speaker 1: like one o'clock is my time, right And even though
- 36:06Speaker 1: it's still my time, I still watch the kids and
- 36:08Speaker 1: do everything else. I just like, keep it on football.
- 36:10Speaker 1: My kids take long naps and they're not even up
- 36:11Speaker 1: to like three. Anyways, I told her last Saturday, We're
- 36:14Speaker 1: in bed and I rolled over. I said, I didn't
- 36:16Speaker 1: really roll over. I would crush your if I rolled over,
- 36:18Speaker 1: but I turned. I turned and I said, I said,
- 36:20Speaker 1: just letting you know, Saturday at three thirty, I'm not around, like,
- 36:24Speaker 1: I'm just not going to pay attention to life. She
- 36:27Speaker 1: She's like, okay, but what do you donna give up Sunday?
- 36:29Speaker 1: I said nothing, So I'm just I'm not giving him something.
- 36:32Speaker 1: I'm just telling you right now. So just playing where
- 36:35Speaker 1: you can get a sitter whatever you want to do,
- 36:37Speaker 1: you know, you know, want some family to come over
- 36:39Speaker 1: and help you watch the kids. Like, I'm just I'm
- 36:41Speaker 1: not going to watch the kids. I'm going to watch
- 36:44Speaker 1: Oregon and Washington play in my man cave quietly. Well,
- 36:48Speaker 1: there's no I have two young kids, semi quietly, and
- 36:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna watch this game. Schwartz, you can ask you
- 36:53Speaker 1: a question, Yes you win that game, like say it
- 36:59Speaker 1: was a three thirty gaming you won that game, how
- 37:01Speaker 1: would that party be that night in Oregon? Oh? Man,
- 37:05Speaker 1: so it's like two bars in Oregon. Um, they both
- 37:08Speaker 1: be pretty exciting. Um god, college parties. Wow, it's a
- 37:13Speaker 1: long time ago. Yeah, Taylor's will be lit as the
- 37:16Speaker 1: young kids say lit. That that that that's basically one
- 37:19Speaker 1: bar Taylor's. Your kids say lit when you win games
- 37:22Speaker 1: a million monster. My kids, Uh, everything I do embarrasses them.
- 37:28Speaker 1: So yesterday, uh, from eleven thirty to twelve, I said
- 37:34Speaker 1: to my kids, let's get off screens, let's hang out,
- 37:37Speaker 1: let's spend some time together, just chilling, talking whatever. So
- 37:41Speaker 1: we were in our lounge. My sons are fifteen and twelve,
- 37:45Speaker 1: about to be twelve, the younger one, and we're just
- 37:48Speaker 1: sitting in like their you know, their their playroom where
- 37:50Speaker 1: they have their video games set up and whatever. And
- 37:54Speaker 1: my older kids says something like, oh dad, that's insane.
- 37:59Speaker 1: And I go in too insane and the membrane insane
- 38:04Speaker 1: and the membrane and he goes, no, I go what.
- 38:07Speaker 1: He goes, No, don't do that. I know what do
- 38:09Speaker 1: you mean? He goes, he goes, that's awful. I don't
- 38:12Speaker 1: want you to ever do that again. And I go,
- 38:14Speaker 1: I can't be embarrassing you. I'm not in front of anybody,
- 38:17Speaker 1: you know, none of your friends are here, Like I
- 38:21Speaker 1: am just doing like a song from the nineties based
- 38:25Speaker 1: on the words you just said. And he goes, I
- 38:28Speaker 1: don't like it. I don't want you talking. Never do
- 38:31Speaker 1: it again. And I get that a lot. I get
- 38:35Speaker 1: that a lot at home. You get that a lot
- 38:37Speaker 1: of Dad. You're annoying. Stop talking, um, Which is why
- 38:40Speaker 1: I have to get it all out with you guys,
- 38:42Speaker 1: because that's what happens. How do we get to that.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Here's the thing, here's the thing at the at the
- 38:52Speaker 1: uh at the end of the day. I was telling
- 38:55Speaker 1: my wife that story and and I said, Zach goes,
- 38:58Speaker 1: it's insane, and she goes, insane in the membrane, Yes,
- 39:03Speaker 1: somebody got it. These kids nowadays just no appreciation for
- 39:08Speaker 1: the past, no appreciation for history. Sure every generation said that,
- 39:12Speaker 1: but yes, these kids are the worst. I wasn't even
- 39:14Speaker 1: embarrassing him. There was no one there. Kay, back to
- 39:19Speaker 1: the NFL um we were talking about this might be
- 39:27Speaker 1: the four oh five play, but we might be calling
- 39:30Speaker 1: this five play. But I'm starting to think that Sean
- 39:34Speaker 1: mcdermot's the best coach in the league. Hammertime nine and
- 39:39Speaker 1: seven love it last year basically with Tyrod Taylor, and
- 39:43Speaker 1: that's that's that's throwing Nathan Peterman out there when he
- 39:45Speaker 1: threw the five picks, so basically doing six. And they
- 39:48Speaker 1: went to the playoffs with the world. I don't know
- 39:50Speaker 1: how this guy is winning games and then he wins
- 39:54Speaker 1: a grind our game with Tennessee. Although Mariota dropped the
- 39:58Speaker 1: ball in the bread basket and they and probably Schwartz
- 40:01Speaker 1: texted everybody because he had the bills on the money
- 40:03Speaker 1: line after the guy dropped it. That also was at
- 40:06Speaker 1: the game. That's way but also very accurate. Had the
- 40:08Speaker 1: bills of the money line. Yes, um, but eight and
- 40:12Speaker 1: a half points. I mean, when you look at the Texans,
- 40:17Speaker 1: they just don't They're hurt animal. They're a horse. They're
- 40:19Speaker 1: hurt animal. Okay, that's what they are. You watched that
- 40:22Speaker 1: game last night. Bill O'Brien is so scared to lose
- 40:25Speaker 1: his job. He's so scared of his own shadow. He
- 40:28Speaker 1: beat them by three. He beats in Indianapolis by three.
- 40:31Speaker 1: The Giants won by five. They did they opening game
- 40:35Speaker 1: against New England. They were never in the game there. Oh,
- 40:37Speaker 1: let's just lose by seven. Let's just lose it's just
- 40:39Speaker 1: like he just is like, let's just lose a little
- 40:42Speaker 1: bit by this, let's win a little bit like that,
- 40:44Speaker 1: because I won't get fired I used to. It's I
- 40:47Speaker 1: don't know. It must be a voice where he thinks
- 40:50Speaker 1: he's Bill Belichick and he thinks he has Tom Brady.
- 40:52Speaker 1: He can lie in a quarterback up nine out of
- 40:54Speaker 1: ten times in the shotgun from the one yard line.
- 40:57Speaker 1: It's not Tom Brady, it's Deshaun Watson. I'm never gonna
- 41:00Speaker 1: look at Bill O'Brien the same after that, after that,
- 41:04Speaker 1: whatever a voice you just did, I can't look at that.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I can't look at his little childen. He did not
- 41:07Speaker 1: get a yard fourteen times last night. It was not
- 41:11Speaker 1: it was nine times inside the five. By the way,
- 41:13Speaker 1: when other times on on third and one did he
- 41:15Speaker 1: have to punt like four times? I'm saying, like I
- 41:18Speaker 1: charted it out for nine times inside the phone, no ten,
- 41:21Speaker 1: because they got stopped fourth down there nine They've had
- 41:25Speaker 1: nine offensive plays if you don't count the field goals
- 41:29Speaker 1: you got all got you man, not very good. I
- 41:34Speaker 1: love this Bill's defense. I mean, look very good. Josh
- 41:37Speaker 1: Allen there there's like, how's mcdermoy doing it. He's not
- 41:42Speaker 1: very good. Yes, there's a masquerade going on. Josh Allen
- 41:44Speaker 1: is awful. Jeff, how many how many yards did he
- 41:47Speaker 1: throw for it last week? Eight? Two yards on sunder
- 41:50Speaker 1: he was nine for eighteen. He has a knocked to
- 41:55Speaker 1: use his feet here and there. He will give you.
- 41:57Speaker 1: That doesn't make you good quarterback. Everyone's always all his
- 42:00Speaker 1: feet like you like, like you know, he's quarterback. I'm
- 42:06Speaker 1: just talking about I'm just talking about. No, I think
- 42:07Speaker 1: that's great for covering the game. I becauld. I agree
- 42:09Speaker 1: because if if you know, if they get down fourteen
- 42:11Speaker 1: and they're driving down to to score late in the game,
- 42:13Speaker 1: he can use his legs. I get all that that's fair.
- 42:15Speaker 1: But I'm saying, Bills fans that a constantly try to
- 42:18Speaker 1: tweet at me about how great Josh Allen is keep
- 42:20Speaker 1: telling me that he runs, he can run with the football,
- 42:23Speaker 1: But that doesn't make you a good quarterback. That that
- 42:25Speaker 1: just it's something he was ten for nineteen, by the way,
- 42:27Speaker 1: that that doesn't make you a great quarterback. Drew Brees
- 42:30Speaker 1: to is going to probably break the passing. They don't say, oh,
- 42:34Speaker 1: what a great runner. Drew Brees this is saying it
- 42:36Speaker 1: was a great pastor. That's what you do a quarterback.
- 42:37Speaker 1: He passed the football. Sorry, George, You're multitasking is unreal.
- 42:42Speaker 1: It is in mid in mid rant. Do you like
- 42:45Speaker 1: tend for nineteen? By the way, because I do RADI
- 42:48Speaker 1: do radio all day and it's just like I do.
- 42:49Speaker 1: I gotta do fifteen radio week man and the pack
- 42:51Speaker 1: twelve and some days you gotta you have to do
- 42:54Speaker 1: two things at once. Keep your mind. Jeff is playing
- 42:57Speaker 1: a different game than you and I are. We're like
- 43:00Speaker 1: amateur podcasters and he does this is like, honestly, he
- 43:04Speaker 1: might be doing this in his sleep right now. I'm
- 43:07Speaker 1: gonna I'm will be sleeping fairly soon, but honestly might
- 43:09Speaker 1: be doing this in his sleep. I got like so
- 43:11Speaker 1: so far too since we've been doing this, I got
- 43:13Speaker 1: my Twitter up. I'm chucking. I'm waiting for this line
- 43:15Speaker 1: to post for Central Florida Memphis like I'm refreshing the
- 43:18Speaker 1: Action Network gap. I put it on alert on there
- 43:20Speaker 1: since line pops up him on my various websites looking
- 43:23Speaker 1: hoping the line pops So I want to take to
- 43:25Speaker 1: over really badly. Um and I just yeah, multitask wrote
- 43:29Speaker 1: email or two. You can do it all, I am.
- 43:32Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of more ways to embarrass my kid.
- 43:34Speaker 1: He's got a bunch of friends downstairs. And as soon
- 43:36Speaker 1: as we're done with this, I'm walking down I'm gonna
- 43:38Speaker 1: be like, hey, guys, anybody wants some orange slices? You
- 43:42Speaker 1: should do that? Is this halftime of this soccer game? Listen?
- 43:46Speaker 1: Should we get to the last game? Not really, you're
- 43:48Speaker 1: driving the boat. Yeah please, Sports is disgusted by as
- 43:53Speaker 1: La Duka. All Right, Tennessee plus two and a half
- 43:58Speaker 1: hosting Baltimore. Guys, it's a no brainer. It's a no brainer.
- 44:03Speaker 1: This team is undervalued every single week, except for last
- 44:07Speaker 1: week when we all had the bills to beat or
- 44:11Speaker 1: cover against the Tennessee Titans. This is a really good defense.
- 44:15Speaker 1: I am unimpressed by the Ravens. I think that a
- 44:18Speaker 1: one dimensional on offense. I think they can be vulnerable
- 44:21Speaker 1: on defense. Um, I like the Tennessee Titans plus two
- 44:26Speaker 1: and a half. I like this pick as well. I mean,
- 44:29Speaker 1: we talk about home dogs and and you're right with
- 44:31Speaker 1: the Titans. They they've besides the well, really everythink every
- 44:35Speaker 1: game right there, besides the first week of the season.
- 44:37Speaker 1: They've kind of ugly these games up, and I think
- 44:39Speaker 1: when you have when you have a team that ugly,
- 44:41Speaker 1: is the game up. And that basically means they play
- 44:43Speaker 1: solid defense and offensively they just do enough to like
- 44:45Speaker 1: not score enough points, but kind of pin teams deep
- 44:48Speaker 1: and and and put from their own their own side
- 44:50Speaker 1: of the field things like that. I like the points here.
- 44:53Speaker 1: You mentioned Baltimore good on defense. That's gonna be wrong.
- 44:55Speaker 1: They're grand of defense, but they don't run the football anymore,
- 44:57Speaker 1: like like, that's not the Baltimore that that we are.
- 45:01Speaker 1: I grew up watching, right, they used to able to
- 45:03Speaker 1: run the football whenever they wanted, and so I think
- 45:05Speaker 1: that's a big part of this and that's why I
- 45:07Speaker 1: think the points at home. It's a great call here.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I love it. I love the pick. Love it. I'm
- 45:13Speaker 1: a big Rabes fan. Follows me on Twitter. Uh, I,
- 45:18Speaker 1: like I said earlier, for not for the drop pass,
- 45:21Speaker 1: they win the game. And I'm not even going to
- 45:24Speaker 1: dispute it because he's on my email pick list and
- 45:28Speaker 1: I sat with him at a derby. He loves to
- 45:30Speaker 1: play the ponies. I love the guy. He's a gambler
- 45:33Speaker 1: and I think as a coach. A guy like that
- 45:34Speaker 1: that they gambles a little bit on the side makes
- 45:38Speaker 1: a good coach. So, um, I've always liked Mike. I
- 45:40Speaker 1: always saw I would make a good head coach, which
- 45:43Speaker 1: breaks some news on our podcasts. Yeah, he likes to
- 45:45Speaker 1: play the ponies. Him and Welker, they used to go
- 45:47Speaker 1: all the time and ask but but Rabel in in
- 45:52Speaker 1: in Welcer play actually play vrabel actually was passing out.
- 45:56Speaker 1: I mean Welker actually um at Churchill downs hit big
- 46:01Speaker 1: and was handing out hundreds to people. I like, hundreds, yeah,
- 46:07Speaker 1: you can't. And then Churchill came out and said that
- 46:09Speaker 1: they overpaid him for the bat. That's pretty much. Yeah,
- 46:13Speaker 1: it's true story, like if you look at it. And
- 46:15Speaker 1: then they asked him for his money back, and they
- 46:16Speaker 1: asked for the money back. I don't know whatever happened
- 46:19Speaker 1: to that, but he was literally he hit a big
- 46:21Speaker 1: race and then they showed him like literally like you know,
- 46:26Speaker 1: throwing hundreds that are out in the crowd. People were
- 46:28Speaker 1: like god, he was drunk and having a good time.
- 46:30Speaker 1: And then they came out and said they overpaid him
- 46:33Speaker 1: because he was sitting in a certain room with a
- 46:34Speaker 1: teller this and that, and I don't know if he
- 46:36Speaker 1: had ever had to give the money back, but yeah,
- 46:38Speaker 1: it's a true story. Listen, Jeff. At this point you're
- 46:40Speaker 1: supposed to say, guys, we gotta go. I am, Let's
- 46:43Speaker 1: wrap it up. Let's go, let's wrap it up. Here
- 46:45Speaker 1: we go. These are nine teams for our twenty dollar parlay.

- 47:07Speaker 1: minus two versus Carolina Panthers, or again plus three and

- 47:14Speaker 1: will break Jeff Schwartz's marriage. Buffalo plus eight and a half.
