- 1:23What's up, you guys?
- 1:25How are you today, Bubba?
- 1:27I am good, brother.
- 1:28I am good.
- 1:29And back with us again, our brother Boo Boo.
- 1:32I have returned.
- 1:34I'm doing great.
- 1:35How are you guys doing tonight?
- 1:36Man, I'm excited to see you, dude.
- 1:38It it's been a few weeks since we've had you on.
- 1:41I know you've had some things happening, but it's all good.
- 1:43We are back together and happy to have you.
- 1:47We're also happy to have this man with us.
- 1:50Welcome to the show, Bobby Hills.
- 1:53What's happening, Bobby
- 1:53Hills?
- 1:54I
- 1:54appreciate it, man.
- 1:55I appreciate that intro too.
- 1:57You know, that was it was well written, you know, and I appreciate y'all having me, man.
- 2:00It's it's a honor to be here.
- 2:03No.
- 2:04This is gonna be great, man.
- 2:05I was blessed to come on your stream last week.
- 2:08I know you had Willie on there.
- 2:10You played some of my music, played my music video out there for all your fans.
- 2:14And, man, I I just love what you guys are doing down there.
- 2:18So kind of off the top because we haven't really gotten to speak with you before.
- 2:22I kinda just wanna give you the floor for a minute here, and let us tell, you know, tell
- 2:27our people about what you do and what you guys are doing down there in the Saint Louis area.
- 2:32Alright.
- 2:32Well, I've been out here in Saint Louis for about three years.
- 2:36I'm originally from Houston.
- 2:37I grew up down there, and I I I really focused on music a lot whenever I was a kid growing up
- 2:43and stuff.
- 2:43But once I was, like, 20 and I had kids and stuff, it was, like, one of them things where I
- 2:48had to kinda put put it to the side and stuff.
- 2:50So but about, like, three years ago, me and my baby mama split up.
- 2:54So I had the opportunity to come up here to St.
- 2:56Louis to work at General Motors.
- 2:57So whenever I came up here, was, like, one of those things, like, like, a lot of I feel like
- 3:02it doesn't really get spoken about that much that whenever a father and the mother don't get
- 3:06along, then the, you know, father gets pushed out the household.
- 3:09So it's like your whole life is, like, turned upside down.
- 3:11You went from, like, being a father, your whole life being about this, about always being there
- 3:15every day with the kids, so now you have this void to fill.
- 3:18So whenever I came up here, I was, you know, dealing with depression and stuff.
- 3:22So I decided to kind of I was like, what did I really, like, had a passion for before I you
- 3:27know, all that?
- 3:28So so I just started going into music and, you know, just pushing music.
- 3:33And then I started doing the streams where artists send in their music, and we play the
- 3:38artist's music.
- 3:39And and it just kinda went from there.
- 3:42You know?
- 3:46I I didn't realize that that was part of your story, man.
- 3:52I'm sorry that you had to go through that.
- 3:54I've lived through that myself.
- 3:55I got a 13 year old boy still battling with his mom.
- 3:59We ain't been together in twelve years, man.
- 4:02Yeah.
- 4:03But it's tough.
- 4:03It's really hard to go from that, especially when, you know, you've been together for a long
- 4:08time and you're in that routine.
- 4:10Right?
- 4:10And and, really, any kind of change like that is huge, but then you involve your babies.
- 4:18Right?
- 4:18You got your kids, your heart, and your soul, and and I know what that feeling is like, man.
- 4:23So my heart goes out to you, dude.
- 4:25That's a tough a tough freaking a tough thing for anybody to go through.
- 4:29I I feel it every bit.
- 4:31Yeah.
- 4:32Yeah.
- 4:32It's almost like it's almost like the music is it feels like, you can't fill that void, but it
- 4:37fills the void of not being depressed.
- 4:40Like, it's almost like a like, I would almost say it's kinda like everything I'd be doing
- 4:44with the music from the streams and all that, it's almost turned into, like, an disorder or
- 4:49an obsession to distract myself from, you know, thinking.
- 4:53Because, you know, idle time, you just sit around feeling bad about yourself.
- 4:56And, also, you know, y'all know that music is a way to express.
- 4:58You know?
- 4:59And there's nothing better than making a song and then somebody else, like, you know, feeling
- 5:04what you was going through or or understanding you.
- 5:07You know what mean?
- 5:07Because I feel like I could I could express myself and people can understand me more
- 5:10through my music than I could sit down and really talk to somebody, you know, unless the
- 5:14conversation just goes because sometimes, you know, you don't always you don't always know
- 5:19the words to say, like, how you feeling.
- 5:21But with music, even if it's not really the words, it could be the frequency.
- 5:25You know?
- 5:25Because I make beats and stuff too.
- 5:26So a lot of it you know, like, that's one of my main thing when making beats is, like,
- 5:30frequencies.
- 5:31You know?
- 5:31Like because it's like whenever you hear that note come on the song and it it, like, makes
- 5:36get you goosebumps or you feel something, you know, before, you know, those are the
- 5:39frequencies.
- 5:39A lot of these people that make beats, they're they're so focused on just the beat or making
- 5:43your head knob or, like, putting samples and stuff like that.
- 5:46Like like, frequencies really, like, took especially with all this AI music because
- 5:51that's one thing that AI can't can't copy is frequencies because frequencies is something
- 5:55that's a human you know, that humans have.
- 5:57You know what I mean?
- 5:58I feel like at least, like, vibes and stuff like that.
- 6:00You know what I mean?
- 6:02But
- 6:02Yeah.
- 6:03The vibration is a frequency.
- 6:04That's why we vibe with each other when you get in that that vein with people.
- 6:09And we just had that.
- 6:10Willie was on with me for our Momo meetup.
- 6:13We do those every Wednesday at 7PM.
- 6:16My wife works at the bowling alley on Wednesday night.
- 6:18So, like, Wednesday night is my it's like, I don't have anything going on.
- 6:21And a much good you are like, I don't hey.
- 6:23I'm like, what the hell am I gonna do?
- 6:25Because I'm dad and and and I'm a husband, and I have all this time that's taken up that when
- 6:32she leaves the house to go work this one night a week, I'm like, well, I'm
- 6:36gonna have
- 6:37stay on camera.
- 6:38Right?
- 6:38I might as well go sit in the lab and connect with as many people as we can.
- 6:43And tonight, we had a gal on shout out to Kat Blue there in Iowa that she just seen me going
- 6:50live on my Facebook.
- 6:51I try to get on what I'm doing my walks in the morning or now it's been in the afternoon.
- 6:55It's been cold and wet here the
- 6:57last few mornings.
- 6:57I've been seeing that.
- 6:59Where are you from?
- 6:59Where are you where are you at?
- 7:01So I'm in rural South Dakota, man.
- 7:03Southeast South Dakota.
- 7:04We're out in the middle of nowhere.
- 7:07So this is my connection to music people.
- 7:09Right?
- 7:09There's, like, there's not that many musicians out here.
- 7:11There's definitely nobody that's attacking it the way that I am.
- 7:15And now my music career is kind of in the sidecar next to this podcasting thing that
- 7:19we've been doing.
- 7:20But I realized that as a connector of people and someone who loves the network with other
- 7:25artists and doesn't mind putting the spotlight on them.
- 7:29Right?
- 7:29Like, it ain't about it ain't about competition.
- 7:31Like, I don't care.
- 7:32You got songs.
- 7:33Cool.
- 7:33Ain't nobody making money out here in the music business unless you're at the very top.
- 7:37And even those people, you know, millions of streams a million streams net you, like,
- 7:41$1,500, and that's not even net.
- 7:43That's just what you're getting kicked back on the stream.
- 7:45So it's like, what what's the point of trying to drive that?
- 7:49Yeah.
- 7:50That's definitely something that I feel like that needs to be taken back to the drawing
- 7:53board is, like especially with contracts and stuff.
- 7:56Is this, like because a lot of the even with contracts with artists, it's still set up to,
- 8:01like, the streams or or album sales and all this stuff, And that's not where there's no
- 8:06money in that anymore.
- 8:07You know what mean?
- 8:08So it's gotta the only you know, I'm still trying to figure out how to make money doing
- 8:12this.
- 8:12You know what I mean?
- 8:13Because even, like, with doing shows and, I guess, with sponsors and stuff and, like, how
- 8:17you're saying with the with how y'all do the stream and you do the podcast.
- 8:20Like, I feel like as a as a artist, that's like you have to do that nowadays.
- 8:25Like like, if you wanna it used to be, like, a artist.
- 8:27The only thing that you really knew about the artist was, like, the CD cover whenever you
- 8:31purchased it and you you know what I mean?
- 8:33But now it's like you it's so, like, everybody wants to know everything about, like, with
- 8:38social media in the way that everything is.
- 8:40You know what I mean?
- 8:41Like, it's like you have to put yourself out there and you have to, like, you know, sell
- 8:44yourself at with selling your music.
- 8:46You know what I mean?
- 8:48Well, you gotta be a real person, and you and people want connection, man, in a world that is
- 8:52just so disconnected, you know, which is which is ironic.
- 8:57Right?
- 8:57Because we're more connected than we've ever been, but people don't, like, talk to other
- 9:02human beings ever.
- 9:03Yeah.
- 9:03They don't you know, they're just watching on their phone, and you're just consuming these
- 9:07short bits of information with, you know, the reels and everything.
- 9:11And that's not an effective way to communicate with anyone.
- 9:14So that's why I've been I've been loving this, you know, doing doing interviews.
- 9:19And I ain't on streams for four hours straight like you are,
- 9:22but I only that's just because I only stream once a week.
- 9:27Like, I also have a I also do a radio podcast.
- 9:31I don't know where the fly oh, here it is.
- 9:33Right here.
- 9:34It's at My City, My Music Radio is stronger than ever, and I do that every Tuesday.
- 9:39That's actually, like, where we have the artists.
- 9:41They come in.
- 9:42We have a studio at the radio station, and and we sit down and we talk like like a, you know,
- 9:47Joe Rogan style podcast where it's, like, you know, face to face and locked in and stuff like
- 9:52that.
- 9:53The stream is more the stream I started the stream started with doing that, with doing
- 9:58interviews and stuff.
- 9:59And I still do interviews with people that, like, you know, don't live around or can't come
- 10:03up and stuff, but the stream is more turned into, like like I like to think of it as, like
- 10:07like, it's almost like chill like, your friend just chilling on the porch and y'all listen to
- 10:11music.
- 10:11Like, the way that we just chop it up.
- 10:13Like, whenever y'all is on there, it's not real professional.
- 10:15We're just chopping it up, talking.
- 10:18You know what I mean?
- 10:19Playing music, bullshit, and, like, stuff like that.
- 10:21You know what I mean?
- 10:21It's it's not as professional.
- 10:23You know what I mean?
- 10:23But It's
- 10:24a hang.
- 10:25It's just a hang.
- 10:26Just chilling.
- 10:26So It really is.
- 10:27Nothing.
- 10:28So four hours goes by fast whenever you're just chilling with your friends.
- 10:30These are the people that, you know, I hang out with regardless.
- 10:34You know what I mean?
- 10:34Like so it's like you know?
- 10:37Yeah.
- 10:37I end up hanging out for two hours that night, by the
- 10:39way.
- 10:39You know?
- 10:40Yeah.
- 10:40Yeah.
- 10:41I was like, I'm gonna go.
- 10:43I'm gonna go, and then they would play another song.
- 10:45And I was like, no.
- 10:46Let me shoot this song up there.
- 10:48So before the night it was over with, I had submitted a bunch of songs.
- 10:52Like Yeah.
- 10:53And I'm not an artist, so it was like you, Fire White, different artists I've known.
- 10:57And and they were all great artists.
- 10:59You know?
- 10:59And that's another thing with the country music scene is I like I like seeing that taken off
- 11:03how it is.
- 11:04You know what I mean?
- 11:04Because it's like a new avenue and you know what I mean?
- 11:07It it I like it, though.
- 11:09It's definitely dope.
- 11:09You know?
- 11:10Well and, Bobby, for you, like, the as a rapper, you know, in that hip hop world, it's
- 11:16been the age of the independent artists over there for fifteen, twenty years.
- 11:20Right?
- 11:21You don't get all the way back to Afro Man, really.
- 11:23I mean, the the man selling tapes out of his trunk.
- 11:27Well, now that's every artist.
- 11:28Right?
- 11:29Like, in every genre.
- 11:31And I've always kinda been someone who I I mean, I made my money always busking.
- 11:35Like, I was out with a guitar on a street corner playing Yeah.
- 11:38I love not, like, in the Ed Sheeran way looking for a record deal or John Mayer, I know, was,
- 11:43you know, famously, like, you know, in the subway playing when he was discovered.
- 11:47I was just trying to make a buck and feed myself.
- 11:49But that's the greatest but that's the greatest thing, though, is because, like, people who
- 11:53actually perform.
- 11:54Like, you know what mean?
- 11:54Because that's, like, my main thing.
- 11:55Like, I'm a good like, I don't wanna say I'm a good performer, but, like, that's, like, where
- 11:59like, I whenever I go and I do I do a show, like, I just have the instrumental playing.
- 12:03I'm rapping all the songs.
- 12:05Like you know?
- 12:05And that's, like, how you're talking about, like, going to the street corner playing guitar
- 12:09because that's people are feeling your vibe.
- 12:11They're feeling your frequency, and and and you're feeling it too.
- 12:13Like, nothing's a better feeling than whenever you're performing and you're just seeing that.
- 12:17They're looking at you with their mouth all open.
- 12:19Like you know what I mean?
- 12:21And they're just loving it.
- 12:22Like, that's that's the best film in the world.
- 12:24You know what I mean?
- 12:25Like, to me as a artist, that's but a lot of these artists, they can't it's different
- 12:29because they don't sound the same as they do.
- 12:31You know what I mean?
- 12:32Like, without all the plug ins, without a computer, A lot of people, they can make music
- 12:36on a on a laptop or on a computer, but whenever it comes out to actually performing or
- 12:40performing that song, they can't do it because that's not it they're you know what I mean?
- 12:44It's so, you know, so much auto tune, so much plug ins, so much which I don't, you know, I'm
- 12:50not hating on nobody.
- 12:51You know what I mean?
- 12:51Well, it's easy to, like, rap a verse and then, like, go back and you're editing that and then,
- 12:58like, to go into the the studio and then to do the chorus.
- 13:01It's a whole different animal when you're doing that song front to back.
- 13:05Right?
- 13:06Like, you're performing the song as a total piece now, and and that's a lot different.
- 13:11Yeah.
- 13:11And, like, a thirty minute set of doing it.
- 13:13You know what I mean?
- 13:14That's all.
- 13:15Yeah.
- 13:15You know, only one on the stage.
- 13:17You know, you don't have the band to kinda pick up the slack.
- 13:20You know what I mean?
- 13:21It's all you you run out of breath.
- 13:23You everybody looking at you funny.
- 13:25Like Yeah.
- 13:26I mean, I just learned what it's like to wrap a thirty minute set just a couple months ago,
- 13:31and, man, that is something else.
- 13:34And especially especially because it don't matter how much you practice it.
- 13:37Like, you could sit there in your room and practice it.
- 13:39But whenever you get on the stage and your nerves because the nerves affect your
- 13:43breathing.
- 13:43You know what I mean?
- 13:44Like A 100%.
- 13:45Or just like how I was saying, like, whenever people start feeling it, you're damn.
- 13:49People are locking into me.
- 13:50Then you get excited, then you get too loud, then you start you know what I mean?
- 13:53All them type of things make it where you know what I mean?
- 13:56Like, it definitely affects it.
- 13:58You know what I mean?
- 13:59Nerves are a big thing.
- 14:00You know?
- 14:00And as a sound guy, I see that a lot.
- 14:04And, also, I see them once, and I'm not hating on anyone that records their tracks and their
- 14:09vocals are on their tracks.
- 14:11And sometimes it gets where their vocals don't line up because just because of the live
- 14:17performance don't match because
- 14:20And and that's became, like, the norm now, especially with, like, hip hop is where it's
- 14:25not you're not paying to go see them perform the song.
- 14:28You're you're paying to see them stand on stage while the song is being played, and they and
- 14:33they're just kinda yelling over some words or dancing.
- 14:36It's not because imagine, like, in February, like, whenever, like or, like, the nineties and
- 14:41stuff, like, if a rapper went up and did that, like, back in the era of, like, Nas and Wu Tang
- 14:46and you know, and all those type of people.
- 14:47If somebody went up there and did that, like, they it would that worked.
- 14:51You know what I mean?
- 14:52But now that's, like, the normal.
- 14:53Now it's like that's the normal.
- 14:55Everybody everybody I I do these shows out here in Saint Louis, and I go up there and perform
- 14:59at the beat, and everybody looks at me like they see they're like, I ain't never seen
- 15:02nobody do that before.
- 15:04Yeah.
- 15:05Know?
- 15:05It's the normal, but, like, it ain't dope to do that.
- 15:08Like, that's the normal, but that's not dope.
- 15:10I I've been vibing with the real emcees doing rap over vocals movement.
- 15:15Yeah.
- 15:15Me
- 15:15too.
- 15:16I still am.
- 15:17Me too.
- 15:17And and if you're gonna do it, then then at least, like, you know, like, take out the main
- 15:21verse vocals and leave just the ad libs.
- 15:23I could see, like, leave the ad libs in the hook.
- 15:25And then you know what I mean?
- 15:26But at least spit your the verse part out.
- 15:29Exactly.
- 15:30You know?
- 15:31We've been coaching up some
- 15:32of these cats that we've been seeing because Willie Willie runs sound, and he's done it at a
- 15:37couple of festivals this year down there in Missouri.
- 15:40And, that's the first thing that I noticed because I'm a live guy.
- 15:44Right?
- 15:44Like, put me up there with a guitar and a live mic, man, and I'm I'm gonna roll and do my
- 15:50thing.
- 15:51And the first thing I know, if you're coming out and you have your you have vocals on your
- 15:55tracks, like, I'm already already pulling back because I'm not hearing you.
- 16:01Right?
- 16:01Like, I could I I don't know what's you and what's just the track, and I'm not here to
- 16:05listen to the radio.
- 16:06If I wanted to hear your song, I just go on spot I mean, I don't use Spotify, but I'd go on
- 16:10YouTube.
- 16:11Know You what I mean, and find your track.
- 16:12That's not what I'm here for.
- 16:14Yeah.
- 16:15Yeah.
- 16:15And it and it makes it really hard as a sound guy because when they're just pretty much lip
- 16:21syncing over their tracks.
- 16:25People are like, I can't hear him.
- 16:27I can't hear him.
- 16:28And I was like, you won't be able to.
- 16:30He's not he's not performing.
- 16:32Well or even worse, Willie, they're like, I can't hear myself in the monitors.
- 16:36Monitors, and you're like, well, yeah, that's because you are your vocals are in that trap.
- 16:40What do you want me to do for you?
- 16:42Yeah.
- 16:42Yeah.
- 16:42Because then they're like Yeah.
- 16:44You turn the music down, and they're like, I can't hear it.
- 16:46Well, you can either hear yourself or hear the music because if you turn the music up, you're
- 16:51gonna drown out the live vocals.
- 16:54And it as a sound guy, I I can't stand it.
- 16:57I mean Yeah.
- 16:58Just being honest.
- 16:59Yeah.
- 17:00And that's like me and Bubba, we talked to a guy the other day, and we're like, just do your
- 17:05tracks.
- 17:05Get rid of everything.
- 17:07Just do your tracks.
- 17:08Well and I wonder I mean, some of these cats are young.
- 17:11Right?
- 17:11And they're just starting off on their careers, and they've they've always like, now, like you
- 17:15said, they've seen it done that way by so many other people that they think that that's the
- 17:19way you do it, and nobody's ever stopped them and gone, yeah.
- 17:23No.
- 17:23That's not that's not cool.
- 17:25Like, that's not how it's done.
- 17:27Right?
- 17:27Well and it's the safe bet.
- 17:28You know?
- 17:29So you gotta think about it like a promoter or, like, their their management team and all that.
- 17:34You know what I mean?
- 17:34If they go up there and they just have the song playing and they could be drugged out or
- 17:39whatever, like most of them are nowadays, and it's not gonna matter because they're gonna you
- 17:43know, as long as the song keeps playing, doesn't start skipping, they're good.
- 17:45You know?
- 17:46But but whenever you go out there and you have the beat and you forget your words or something
- 17:50like that, you know what I mean, then you're putting more on the line.
- 17:53But at the same time, you gotta put stuff on the line to be able to really get that prize
- 17:56and have you know, and and capture people because because that's really to me as a
- 18:02artist, like, the performing part is, like, the ultimate high.
- 18:05Like, you know what I mean?
- 18:06Like, I ain't never been more high.
- 18:08And then and then the thing is about it, though, is is it just like the higher you get,
- 18:12the more you go like, the come down is bad.
- 18:16You know what mean?
- 18:16I I see that with being an artist too.
- 18:18It's like whenever I perform and I'm feeling and I'm riding that wave and I'm feeling good,
- 18:22I'm preparing for the show, then I get there and everything's good, but then next day, you
- 18:26go home and you go back to work, and you're just normal.
- 18:28And that shit that's depressing.
- 18:30Oh, damn.
- 18:32Yeah.
- 18:32I've
- 18:32been I've been
- 18:33I've been fainting
- 18:34for another show, man.
- 18:35That's all I want.
- 18:36And then
- 18:37you start fiending.
- 18:37You're like, man, I'm jonesing to do this next one, man.
- 18:40Exactly.
- 18:41Yeah.
- 18:41That's how you end up on tour, man, chasing it from town to town and performing for new
- 18:46people.
- 18:46And Yeah.
- 18:47I would love to be on tour if if I didn't have a job and all these bills and all this stuff
- 18:52hold me back.
- 18:53That's what holds me back because because, like, you know, like, even, like, at the
- 18:57position that I'm at, like, I'm not a big artist.
- 18:59So, like, the tours that I can go to are most of them are, like, open mic showcases but in
- 19:03different cities, which I love that.
- 19:05I like open mic showcases and doing stuff like that.
- 19:07You know what I mean?
- 19:08Especially, like, in front of new people because every time you do it in front of new
- 19:12people, you know what mean, they you know what I mean?
- 19:14Those are people that are really gonna, like, follow you and really gonna, like, fuck with
- 19:18you because you know what I mean?
- 19:19Like, if I do a show, I'm a stay the whole time.
- 19:21You know what I mean?
- 19:22Even if I go first, I'm a stay the whole time and watch all the all the other artists.
- 19:26You know what I mean?
- 19:27And all that.
- 19:27You know what I mean?
- 19:28Whenever like, I like performing first, honestly, because because I feel like there's
- 19:32more people there.
- 19:33You know?
- 19:34Because because everybody once everybody performs, all their people are leaving with
- 19:37them.
- 19:37You know what I mean?
- 19:38That's how these shows go.
- 19:39So so a lot of these headliner shows, it'll be, like, 10 people in the audience by the time the
- 19:43headliner's there.
- 19:44You know what I mean?
- 19:45So I'd rather be there whenever there's, like, 50 or, you know, meet people there or whatever.
- 19:48Like, you you're being seen more.
- 19:50You
- 19:50know?
- 19:51Exactly.
- 19:52Yeah.
- 19:52I love it, man.
- 19:54I'd also think artists realize that people don't realize that they can start they're
- 19:59starting to wake up and see when them artists are just playing their tracks and lip singing.
- 20:05Yeah.
- 20:06You know?
- 20:07I went to a different festival a while back that wasn't when I was doing.
- 20:11I just went to show support.
- 20:13And everybody's like, what is this?
- 20:16Karaoke?
- 20:17And I
- 20:17was like you know?
- 20:18And I was like, well, you know, you can't get mad at the sound guy when he's had to the
- 20:25track.
- 20:26He has to wait and you know?
- 20:29And what the artist does, it makes it hard all the way around because you get the fans that
- 20:33aren't happy.
- 20:34Yep.
- 20:35And then the fans and then they don't wanna come into shows no more.
- 20:38Like, that's that's why a lot of these shows don't be selling no more is because people
- 20:42don't it's a waste of money that's like, why would I go just like you said, I could go see
- 20:46that on YouTube.
- 20:47You know?
- 20:47A better version of it.
- 20:49You know what
- 20:49I mean?
- 20:50Just go watch Bobby on his stream and watch these cats and then we'll see their music video
- 20:54and be at home comfortably.
- 20:56Out for and hang out for the six hours.
- 20:58We're gonna be at the concert.
- 21:00Right.
- 21:00Well and COVID.
- 21:02And and I'm glad you said that too because because this is something I wanted to say too
- 21:05is because, like, I feel like COVID made everybody where they're, like, comfortable with
- 21:09being inside.
- 21:10Like, I think everybody already wanted that, but a lot of people, like you said, like, they
- 21:14don't wanna go to shows.
- 21:15They'd rather stay home.
- 21:16You know what I mean?
- 21:16And I have a a on that on the same thing I was talking about that my city, my music radio, I
- 21:22have an I have another show that I do every month.
- 21:25And I have my second episode coming on November 15, and it's the experience.
- 21:31But but the first episode was last month, and the show's called Behind the Streams.
- 21:37And what it is is it's a showcase and then and then an interview following.
- 21:42So the one right now, you can see it on YouTube, Behind the Stream, and it's a thirty
- 21:46minute showcase followed by a thirty minute interview.
- 21:49And and so, like, the showcase is a direct feed.
- 21:51Like, the mic's directly feed, so it's studio quality.
- 21:54You know what I mean?
- 21:55Like, the like, it's not like somebody just recording on their phone.
- 21:59Like, it's, like, multiple cameras and and just speaking through the mic with the recording and
- 22:03stuff, and then it's followed by interview.
- 22:05So so so that's, like, something that I was thinking because because it's almost like viral
- 22:11showcases.
- 22:12You know I mean?
- 22:12So then people, they could be home and they could watch the performances.
- 22:15You know what I mean?
- 22:16And see the performances and stuff like that without going out with you know, they can be
- 22:20just and they can watch it whenever they want.
- 22:22They don't gotta you know what I mean?
- 22:25Miss whatever.
- 22:27Yeah.
- 22:28I dig it, man.
- 22:29Well, we were talking about the high, of coming off coming off a show and being up there on
- 22:35stage.
- 22:35So the first track I wanna play yours tonight was high off life.
- 22:38Is that alright?
- 22:39Yeah.
- 22:40It's high off money.
- 22:41But High off money.
- 22:42Sorry.
- 22:42But yeah.
- 22:44Yeah.
- 22:44So so this song because I sent three songs, and, like, I just wanted to kinda show, like,
- 22:49myself as a artist.
- 22:49You know?
- 22:50So this one is I didn't make the beat on this one.
- 22:53This is just the beat that I I think I got it from, like, Beatstar or something like that.
- 22:57But but I just wanted to show, like, myself as, like, a rapper on this one, so that's why I
- 23:02sent this one in.
- 23:02But there's a video for this too.
- 23:05It's on YouTube, b hills high off money.
- 23:22Smoking on that diesel now.
- 23:23I'm so high I can't see the ground.
- 23:25So fly can't be seen around.
- 23:27So I will be leaving now.
- 23:28Smell like I've been held a pound.
- 23:30There's nothing you can tell me now.
- 23:32Let's just need another round.
- 23:33I see these evils all around.
- 23:35Calling leave the speakers loud.
- 23:37I'm chiefing on a reefer cloud till my eyes are bleeding out.
- 23:40Now you see what we about.
- 23:42Make it rain in the drought like a plane on a route or a train going south in my brain.
- 23:47There's no girl.
- 23:48There's no way to make it out.
- 23:50If you stay up on the couch watching days losing count, purple haze.
- 23:54Got my mind in a herbal maze.
- 23:56I'm trying to get my money right, but I ain't learned a thing.
- 23:59I'm sipping
- 24:00on a money spray.
- 24:01And I say what I wanna when I'm blazing marijuana.
- 24:04Got my
- 24:05I see.
- 24:06Got it feeling like a sonic getting hot off blood.
- 24:24I'm out of it.
- 24:25The base got this whole place wrapped.
- 24:27So you can hear us before we approach it.
- 24:31Got the perp.
- 24:32I'm about to go on and pour me up a potion.
- 24:35If it has to do with money, I'm a need my poorest poorest.
- 24:38I don't give fuck.
- 24:39I'm trying to make a fucking porch horse.
- 24:41Got the cameras up, guns just like a porch horse.
- 24:45Got the hammer tugged.
- 24:46I refuse to fucking forfeit.
- 24:48Tell me what you want.
- 24:49Is it really fucking worth it?
- 24:51Spitting all these letters and these words like a rule
- 24:54for me.
- 24:55Say what you wanna.
- 24:56I'm a blaze marijuana with my eyes so low.
- 24:59Got it feeling like a sonic getting high.
- 25:02Off money, better hide your money because I hydro money.
- 25:06Leave your eyes all bloody.
- 25:08Only smoke the finest grade.
- 25:10Top class, highest grade.
- 25:11No class, highest paid.
- 25:13Why ass my eyes are glazed?
- 25:14Oh, yeah.
- 25:15My mind is dazed.
- 25:16Been over a couple days.
- 25:18Stuffed up in this maze fucked up.
- 25:20It's just the same thing.
- 25:21So I jumped it through some throes.
- 25:23On them stunning shades.
- 25:24They're just happy to have new year.
- 25:26Hit the black stuff for days.
- 25:28Had it locked fucking safe.
- 25:29But shit wasn't the same.
- 25:59Off.
- 26:00Say what you wanna, I'm a blaze marijuana with my
- 26:04so low.
- 26:05Got it feeling like a sonic getting hot.
- 26:08Off money, better hype your money because I had drove money leave your eyes off.
- 26:13Say what you wanna, I'm a blaze marijuana with my eyes so low.
- 26:19Got it feeling like a son of getting hot off money, better hide your money because that
- 26:24hydro money leave your eyes off bloody.
- 26:34Yeah, man.
- 26:35Man.
- 26:36I love it, dude.
- 26:38Where I live, marijuana is legal.
- 26:40So
- 26:40We got medical we got medical here in South Dakota.
- 26:44It's all good.
- 26:45Yeah.
- 26:46Oh, yeah.
- 26:46It's all good.
- 26:47No, man.
- 26:48That's that's good.
- 26:49And the production level's high.
- 26:52It's good stuff, man.
- 26:53I love it.
- 26:54I appreciate it.
- 26:58What'd you think, boo boo?
- 27:00I I really liked it.
- 27:02Kinda reminded me of, like, a stoner Lil White.
- 27:05You know?
- 27:05Really had those vibes that kinda take me back to when I was in middle school and stuff
- 27:10listening to rap music and stuff when I first started getting into it really heavy.
- 27:16Oh, yeah.
- 27:16I appreciate it.
- 27:17Yeah.
- 27:19Yeah.
- 27:19That's like that was, like, one of the the first, like, singles that because I only been
- 27:23doing music again for, like, three years.
- 27:25So everything from, like, my stream to the podcast to my music, It's all just past three
- 27:31years since I've been up here.
- 27:32So, like, that was, like, one of them songs that that I had other songs that I wanted
- 27:37because, like, I'm I have a, like, a lot I'm more of, like like, I like art I like people to
- 27:42connect to my music.
- 27:43You know what I mean?
- 27:43But but I felt like that was, like, one of them songs I had to drop first in order to get
- 27:47people because it's almost like people, they have to kinda, like, like you to care about
- 27:51what you feel about something.
- 27:52So I feel like if I would've came out with, like, mushy breakup music, then they would've,
- 27:56you know, just been like, whatever.
- 27:57But you drop something like that, and then they're like, okay.
- 28:00At least, you know, we can see he can rap syllables and can put words together.
- 28:04You know?
- 28:05And then it's like Jay Z said, like, first, you have to have their ear, then you can get their
- 28:09heart.
- 28:09So that was, like, one of them type of songs that I wanted people to just you know?
- 28:14I don't wanna downgrade the song, but but you know I mean?
- 28:17Because I definitely like the song.
- 28:18You know?
- 28:18We got the video too for it.
- 28:19But but it was definitely one of them songs that I just almost made with the intent to be
- 28:24like, alright.
- 28:24So people are gonna like this.
- 28:26You know what mean?
- 28:27Instead of making something that I was like, I'm going through something.
- 28:29I'm feeling something.
- 28:31You know, I gotta let some out.
- 28:32It was more like, I gotta make something that people are gonna like.
- 28:34So I sat in the studio.
- 28:35I was like, alright.
- 28:36Well, people like weed, and people like money.
- 28:39And people like to be high, so we're high off money.
- 28:42Okay.
- 28:42Did anybody influence you to make like, was there any influence, like, sounds for that
- 28:47song?
- 28:48Any sounds that influenced you from people at all?
- 28:51No.
- 28:51Not really.
- 28:52I just heard the beat.
- 28:53And, like like, as a artist, like, I I really like like, I I I believe in, like, the muse.
- 28:59Like like, you know what I mean?
- 29:00Like like, the so so I believe that the song kinda should write itself.
- 29:03Like, every song that I made that that worked out good, it came together.
- 29:07It's like, you know, whenever you're making a song, you're just like it's like something else
- 29:10is making it for you, and it it's just coming together, and you're just you you're so
- 29:14excited.
- 29:14You can't even, like, get it out quick enough because you're the next it's our next thought's
- 29:18already there.
- 29:19Like like, I believe, like, the muse, so it's like, I really when even whenever I hear, like,
- 29:23a beat or if I'm making some music, like, I just go off of that.
- 29:28And if I don't feel that, then then I like, I feel like it shouldn't be hard, basically, what
- 29:33I'm saying.
- 29:33You know what I mean?
- 29:34So I feel like the music should make itself.
- 29:37So if it's like if you're having to force it, then I feel like that's that's gonna be a
- 29:41frequency that people are gonna feel whenever they feel it.
- 29:43So so if you're having a good time, you're enjoying yourself, you're loving this song,
- 29:46that's the frequency that's gonna be put that people gotta catch whenever they hear the song.
- 29:50You know?
- 29:50Yeah.
- 29:51I mean, I wrote my first song in, like, twenty minutes just because the pen was guiding me.
- 29:55Yeah.
- 29:55That's the muse.
- 29:56You know?
- 29:57Whether you're a writer, the ride writers talk about the muse.
- 30:00Anybody creative, you know, people who paint, that's the that's you know what I mean?
- 30:05It it I don't wanna be, like, bland, but it's almost like some people, they either have it or
- 30:09they don't.
- 30:09Like, you know what I mean?
- 30:10Like, I think that's, like, something that you can't really teach.
- 30:12You can't teach somebody the muse.
- 30:14You know?
- 30:14And and it makes it where, like not saying that somebody that doesn't have the muse can't be as
- 30:18good as you, but they're gonna have to work a lot harder.
- 30:21Like, you know what I mean?
- 30:22Like, a lot a lot of things, it comes effortlessly.
- 30:25Like you know what I mean?
- 30:26Like, I feel like
- 30:27I I see that a lot.
- 30:29So I've interviewed over 300 artists in the last eighteen months on our show, and a lot of
- 30:34them because of my Midwest country music organization and now having won the content
- 30:39creator of the year award over there that I have I have cache in that in that realm, right,
- 30:45in that country music world.
- 30:46And I don't even consider my music necessarily country.
- 30:49Like, I have a few that are on that line, but that's where the songwriters are these days.
- 30:53Like, I I grew up loving bands like Pearl Jam and the Red Hot Chili Peppers and, really good
- 30:57songwriters, but there's just not really in rock music anymore.
- 31:01Rock kept getting heavier and heavier and heavier, and it kinda left me where I was like,
- 31:05I I I like a little distortion on my guitar too, but it's not all about these heavy kinda
- 31:10distorted sounds.
- 31:11Like, where's the songs?
- 31:13And I'm not a screamer.
- 31:14I'm a singer.
- 31:15So I've kinda found myself in this country world now.
- 31:18And with that comes people that spend a lot of time in Nashville.
- 31:22And, you know, there, they're kinda turning, you know, songwriting into, like, this cookie
- 31:28cutter kinda thing and, oh, it's gotta have this and you gotta have these parts and, you
- 31:33know, a good song isn't that without them.
- 31:35Was like, man, I've never written a song like that.
- 31:37I've never sat down and, like, I'm gonna my every single song that I've ever written in my
- 31:41life has been a stroke of inspiration.
- 31:44Right?
- 31:45It has
- 31:45sparked from somewhere, what feeling or something, an experience, right, that just had
- 31:51to come out.
- 31:52And the way that it came out was it sounded like this, and it felt like this.
- 31:57And so, yeah, you talk about the muse, man.
- 32:00I I I feel you.
- 32:01And Well,
- 32:02I think
- 32:02I think that's where good music the only place good music really comes from.
- 32:06Real Yeah.
- 32:06Like, soul touching music.
- 32:08And and I think a lot of, like, what she was talking about, like, has to do with these,
- 32:11like, writer groups.
- 32:12You know what I mean?
- 32:13Because because especially with, like, country music and that type of music, they'll they'll
- 32:16have, like, sit down and and, you know what mean?
- 32:18It might be five, ten people, and they're writing the songs together.
- 32:21You know?
- 32:22Whenever, like, the drill artist you know, like, you were saying, like like, you were
- 32:25saying, like, if you were inspired by something, I like to make the song and not even
- 32:29really let nobody hear it until I'm pretty much done with it.
- 32:32You know what I mean?
- 32:32Because that way nobody can be, like, change it.
- 32:34I'm like, no.
- 32:35I already
- 32:36they already see the vision.
- 32:37This is the way it is type thing.
- 32:38You know what mean?
- 32:39Right.
- 32:39And and a lot of good songwriters, like, especially back in the day, that's how it was.
- 32:43You know what I mean?
- 32:44Like, they didn't have it wasn't so corporate because now there's so it's such music has
- 32:48became such a business.
- 32:50You know what I mean?
- 32:51Like, it's always been a business, but now with, like, now with, like, DistroKid and how
- 32:56it opened up the floodgates for all these independent artists to get on on major
- 33:00platforms and stuff.
- 33:01But at the same time, it opened up the floodgates for all these people to take
- 33:05advantage of them, to be like you know what mean?
- 33:07People paying for plays.
- 33:08People they're they're you know what mean?
- 33:11All this type of stuff that's that everybody has their hand out, and it's almost like
- 33:14there's, like, vultures of people.
- 33:15Like, you know, you can't how many times have y'all gone, like, Facebook or something and you
- 33:19and you see, like, you got, like, 12:12 notification?
- 33:22You're like, oh, what the hell?
- 33:23You know, you click on it's the same person.
- 33:24Right?
- 33:25And then and then you go check your email or your your DMs, and then they're like they're
- 33:30like, hello, sir.
- 33:31I can give you organic followers and shit.
- 33:33Like, you know what I mean?
- 33:35I get that on my Instagram.
- 33:37So my Facebook is pretty organic, but my Instagram, I don't spend a lot of time over
- 33:41there.
- 33:41And sometimes I'll pop and I'll be like, 14 notifications.
- 33:44What the hell?
- 33:45And it's just one person, one bot, like, 14 of my post and then sent me a message trying to
- 33:50sell me something.
- 33:51Just like that. Then these
- 33:51Then these people,
- 33:52they don't even know that these are bots.
- 33:55Like, you see people arguing with people on comments, and they don't understand that.
- 33:59It's like, there's, like, this new warfare that's going on now where it's like a bot
- 34:03warfare from, like, Russia, China, all these things where it's a way to to divide us and
- 34:07make us, like, argue with each other to do all this stuff.
- 34:10You know what I mean?
- 34:11And they're these bots.
- 34:12Like, you know what I mean?
- 34:13These trobots that are just like that's a whole another that that it could be a whole another
- 34:18podcast, man.
- 34:19Oh, yeah.
- 34:19No, Bobby.
- 34:20You already know.
- 34:21You
- 34:22already know.
- 34:22The bots and the bot place.
- 34:25Well and and especially if you get into any kind of political conversations with someone on
- 34:29just an open forum and like, bro, you just Yeah.
- 34:32And it's so easy to identify for those with people with eyes to see.
- 34:37Right?
- 34:37But so many don't, man.
- 34:38They're just they're and and whether it's ignorance or it's just a a lack of knowledge
- 34:44about how the Internet works now.
- 34:46But once once you've seen a bot farm and you've seen some of these troll farms in foreign
- 34:51countries and all the phones hooked up in a little thing, and you're like, oh, the
- 34:56Internet's not even real.
- 34:57Well, you can tell yeah.
- 34:59And especially, like, the Internet's it's getting faker every time I turn on it.
- 35:03Like, now all these AI videos, you got Stephen Hawkins wrestling.
- 35:07That's real.
- 35:08That's real right there.
- 35:10That's gotta be.
- 35:11But don't get me wrong.
- 35:12Don't get me wrong.
- 35:13I I think it's funny.
- 35:14You know?
- 35:14I love that type of stuff, but what I don't like is the AI work because where in where the
- 35:20videos that is taken away like, let's say, like, I've seen a video the other day, and it
- 35:23was like a a dog and, like, a it was like a bald eagle came and picked up the dog, and then
- 35:31and then, like, the goat, like, fought off the eagle, you know, which would have been a badass
- 35:35video before AI.
- 35:36You'd be like, damn.
- 35:37Oh, shit.
- 35:38Look at this video.
- 35:38You know?
- 35:39Like, this go protected.
- 35:40And then now it's like, even if it was real, you're just like, that's fake.
- 35:44That's AI.
- 35:45That's
- 35:45fake.
- 35:45Yeah.
- 35:45You don't
- 35:46trust anything.
- 35:47Even if it was real, you're like
- 35:49Yeah.
- 35:49I was just like, that's stupid.
- 35:50I don't even like
- 35:51Look at that AI log behind boo boo.
- 35:54Yeah.
- 35:54Yeah.
- 35:55Yeah.
- 35:55That's like
- 35:56Look at the AI boo boo.
- 35:57Look at the AI boo boo.
- 36:00We're not even real.
- 36:01I'm fake.
- 36:01How'd you call me out?
- 36:03But I I think that's what makes, like, what you're doing and what we're doing here and
- 36:08especially on the live hits.
- 36:09I mean, we do a ton of interviews.
- 36:10I'm scheduled out in taped interviews right now into April.
- 36:14Right?
- 36:15Twice a week.
- 36:15I got all these interviews that'll be coming out.
- 36:18But, eventually, it's like, those aren't even real.
- 36:21Right?
- 36:21Like, everybody's living in the past, but we're just out of the curve, Bobby.
- 36:24And I feel like what you're doing with the radio station, bringing people in studio, and
- 36:28all the things that you've been doing is just like that's what's bringing music back,
- 36:32bringing it back to the people.
- 36:34And that's why it's really Yeah.
- 36:35That's something that yeah.
- 36:37That's something that fake people can't do neither.
- 36:39You know what I mean?
- 36:40Like, fake like, a bot, you can't go into the actual studio and have a one on like, a podcast
- 36:45conversation or or a bot.
- 36:47It don't matter how much of this AI music that these bots are making.
- 36:51You know what I mean?
- 36:51That's another thing that I that I hate too is, like, people that make music with AI.
- 36:56And then you know what I mean?
- 36:58And and it's one like, I don't I I I don't I don't use AI for none of my music.
- 37:02You know?
- 37:03But I don't hate on nobody that uses it to help them with their music.
- 37:06But what I'm talking about is the people that go and they go into the generators, and they're
- 37:10just like, make a pop song with the girl boys that sounds like this, talking about this.
- 37:15And then and then they and then they generate the song in, like, a minute and a half, and
- 37:19then they try to send it into my show.
- 37:21Like, it's theirs like, they're a real artist.
- 37:23And and that's the type of stuff that I hate because that's like a slap in the face for
- 37:26people that actually go in the studio and actually make music, especially like like, I
- 37:30made music with, like, a like a like a feed machine type shit.
- 37:34I'm all dropping shit.
- 37:36But I like you know what mean?
- 37:37Like, real like, generating real music.
- 37:39You know?
- 37:39Which which you know what mean?
- 37:41I'll use loops and stuff.
- 37:42There's nothing.
- 37:42But but what I'm saying, though, is this is like you know what I'm talking about?
- 37:45How there's, like, apps you can download where you just download the app, and then you're,
- 37:49like, make a country song about a breakup and put these keywords in it.
- 37:55And then you could choose the voice that you want.
- 37:57And then and then
- 37:58Bobby, I've been blown away by some of the stuff that I've heard.
- 38:01I got
- 38:01a good friend of mine now.
- 38:03That's what
- 38:03I'm saying.
- 38:03That's why I hate it because they're good songs.
- 38:05But Yeah.
- 38:06But I hate the fact that but I hate it, though.
- 38:08You know what I mean?
- 38:09You know?
- 38:09I hate that they're good too.
- 38:11You know?
- 38:12But can always tell them
- 38:13gotta check the credits and make sure it's not all generated nowadays.
- 38:17Well, see.
- 38:17And and I feel
- 38:18AI has been in music since the early two thousands if you look at writing credits.
- 38:24Yeah.
- 38:24Yeah.
- 38:25I like, I like that it's given people who maybe don't have all those skills, that that it's
- 38:31given them an outlet to get things that they feel out.
- 38:35Right?
- 38:35And and that's what I really and I really got this from my friend, Amber, and listening to
- 38:40her story and just like where she's like, I've always been a writer, but I don't have any
- 38:45musical talent.
- 38:46Right?
- 38:46Like, I can't play guitar, and I can't produce a beat or anything, but I learned how to use
- 38:51this thing.
- 38:51And she's very meticulous about how she goes about building it out too.
- 38:55Right?
- 38:55So it it doesn't just take her a minute and a half, throw this in there.
- 38:58Well
- 38:59She's working really hard to get out what she thinks about it, but she's also not out there
- 39:03trying to pass it off as like, oh, I made this.
- 39:06It's like, well, yeah, I made this with AI, but I just some of their songs are just funny too.
- 39:11Right?
- 39:12Where it's just that made this to be funny.
- 39:14So I'm like, I'm on the fence.
- 39:15I want people to be able to express themselves.
- 39:17Yeah.
- 39:18But and and nobody's making any money right now.
- 39:20I guess that's my thing.
- 39:21And she can't go sit down around a campfire and do that.
- 39:25Right?
- 39:25Like so that's always kinda been my thing as a as a live performer to be like, well, you can't
- 39:30just spit it.
- 39:31Right?
- 39:31You you can't just step out there and sing that song and to do any of that.
- 39:36And if nobody's making any money in music right now anyway, right, like, who who gives a shit?
- 39:40Have fun.
- 39:41Go But like
- 39:42you said, though but like you said, like, she's a writer, and she takes her time with it.
- 39:45Like, that's a whole another different.
- 39:47Like, just like I I I got a buddy that that he he makes beats, like, with, like, Fruity Loops
- 39:54or whatever.
- 39:55And then he and then he writes the lyrics, but then he's he can't sing, so he has AI singing
- 39:59for him.
- 40:00And and that's dope.
- 40:01You know what I mean?
- 40:02Because it's just like, alright.
- 40:03That's just like you ghostwriting for another artist, but instead of having an artist, you
- 40:07have AI.
- 40:07Like, that's completely different.
- 40:09Like but what the thing that I'm more talking about is just, like, these, like, little
- 40:14generators.
- 40:14Like you know what I mean?
- 40:16And and especially, like and then and then AI looks so fake right now.
- 40:20Like, I know it's getting better.
- 40:21Like, it's getting better and better, but it That's the scary part.
- 40:25Yeah.
- 40:25Pretty soon, we're not gonna even be able to tell.
- 40:27Like like, even with music, I can tell whenever I hear AI song only because it's too perfect.
- 40:34You know what I mean?
- 40:35I'll be like, that shit is too crisp.
- 40:37The shit is too on beat.
- 40:38That shit the licks they they just seem too good.
- 40:40Like, that's the only way I could tell is the difference.
- 40:43You know what I mean?
- 40:44Is is from that.
- 40:45But I don't hate on nobody that that's doing something they that they love, you know, or
- 40:49that they put or that they're creative with.
- 40:52You know what I mean?
- 40:53But that's a whole another like, being a whole another artist, though.
- 40:56You know what I mean?
- 40:56That should be like a but like you said, they can't perform.
- 40:59They can't do things.
- 41:00So so as instead again instead of me being over here being bitter about it, I'll just try I'll
- 41:05just try to focus on things that, hey.
- 41:07I can't do.
- 41:08Like you said, like, hey.
- 41:08I can't go perform.
- 41:10Hey.
- 41:10I can't do a podcast at a radio station.
- 41:13You know what I mean?
- 41:14Not yet.
- 41:15God.
- 41:15That's why that's why I pulled my podcast off of Spotify because their AI is trading right
- 41:20now.
- 41:20And I was like, man, if they make a digital bubble, I'm fucked.
- 41:24Yeah.
- 41:24You don't want more than one of me.
- 41:26Okay.
- 41:26Just saying.
- 41:27No.
- 41:28Imagine if they made a digital boo boo.
- 41:32Already they already can.
- 41:33If especially with, like, people like us that that have, like, a footprint online where we
- 41:39generated so many words.
- 41:40They Oh, man.
- 41:41I have 200 episodes out.
- 41:43Right?
- 41:43Like, I ain't Joe Rogan, but, man, you've you've got me saying just about everything
- 41:47already.
- 41:49Right?
- 41:49So
- 41:50But but I just wanna know, is yours gets hurt as much as you do?
- 41:54What?
- 41:55Does your AI get hurt as much as you do?
- 41:59I don't know.
- 42:00Probably.
- 42:00Mike just go get my
- 42:02His AI doesn't ride a bike that's broke to shit.
- 42:05But listen.
- 42:06I wanted to kinda throw I know, Scottie.
- 42:08Sorry.
- 42:09I kinda wanted to throw my opinion out there because y'all got to talking, and I really
- 42:14liked how the beat didn't overpower your power your music, and your voice stood out well
- 42:20enough you could hear it.
- 42:21Yeah.
- 42:22I appreciate it.
- 42:23Professional quality.
- 42:24Like
- 42:25Yeah.
- 42:25I actually
- 42:25I actually mixed it down myself.
- 42:27I did all the I did all the all the mixing and stuff like that.
- 42:30I pretty much, like everything that I've, like, done, it's almost been like, I couldn't like,
- 42:35being an artist and coming up and stuff, like, I can't afford people like, pay people to do
- 42:40stuff, so I just kinda learned.
- 42:41Like like like my manager, Young TZ, told me, he was like, just stare at the screen long
- 42:46enough and you'll figure it out.
- 42:47Like, you know, that's what that's what I've done, though.
- 42:51I just kind of just you know, with even just, like, the with just doing the streams and the
- 42:56podcast and stuff.
- 42:57You know what I mean?
- 42:58Like like, I would just see these other streamers and stuff.
- 43:01And, like, at first, when I first started my stream, it was, like, one of them things, like,
- 43:05everybody gets played.
- 43:06We don't give our opinion on nobody's music.
- 43:09You know what I mean?
- 43:10It's a safe place for artists to get hurt.
- 43:11You know?
- 43:12And then it kinda transformed into this other thing where, like, if your music sucks, we have
- 43:16this horn, and we're like, we just stopped it.
- 43:20And then and then we kinda backed off from that a little bit because people stopped listening
- 43:24their music because we'd be, like, trolling little and stuff.
- 43:27So so so but
- 43:29Double edged sword.
- 43:33But but the thing but but it's all but it's never been, like, biased, though.
- 43:36Like like, if I hear a song, I'm not gonna be like just because it might not be a song that I
- 43:40like or it's something that I would listen to, I would still, like you know what I mean?
- 43:44Get my opinion on it as if, like, a open minded type thing.
- 43:47You know what I mean?
- 43:48But but I feel like sometimes, like, if like, people have told me that I sucked whenever I
- 43:53first started.
- 43:54You know what mean?
- 43:54And that shit made me better.
- 43:56You know what I mean?
- 43:56Like, if you just let people Yeah.
- 43:58Well, and know what?
- 43:59They were probably right because everybody sucks when they're just starting out, man.
- 44:03I heard I mean, I was perfect.
- 44:05I heard something.
- 44:06I heard a song from me the other day that was, like, from, like, three years ago, and I was
- 44:10just like, damn.
- 44:10I was not as good as I thought I was.
- 44:12You know?
- 44:13Because I've always had this, like, confidence where I just think, like, I'm just, you know
- 44:16but it's kind of, like, a bad thing too because sometimes you you know?
- 44:20But you need people to keep you grounded.
- 44:22Like, those are the type of people you need around you if people are gonna be honest with
- 44:24you.
- 44:25Like like my boy, Tweezy.
- 44:26Like like, I was, like, super big headed, and every like, whenever I first started putting
- 44:30out my music, everybody was loving it.
- 44:32And now I went over to the studio for the first time.
- 44:33He and as soon as I walked in there, he just looked at me.
- 44:35He's like, you know, you're not as good as you think you are.
- 44:37And just turned around and walked out.
- 44:39And I was just like,
- 44:39what the fuck this was really?
- 44:42You know?
- 44:42But that shit but guess what?
- 44:44Every time I record, that's the studio I go to.
- 44:46Like, whenever, like, it comes because I'll record myself, you know, and I get it down.
- 44:51So that way whenever I get to actual studio, I have it down where I can just do it real quick.
- 44:55Like, you know what mean?
- 44:56I'm not trying to waste nobody's time.
- 44:57But I do that over there because I know that, like you know what I mean?
- 45:01The pressure's on there.
- 45:02Like, you know mean?
- 45:03I could go to a studio where people are just gonna, like you know, they don't care.
- 45:07They just want they just you know what I mean?
- 45:09Whatever.
- 45:09They just want their name on the song.
- 45:11But but people that are gonna, like, push you to be better, those are people that you need
- 45:15around you.
- 45:16You know?
- 45:16Because especially in the music industry, because you get surrounded by yes men and types
- 45:20like that, people that just wanna ride the wave.
- 45:23You know what I mean?
- 45:25Bobby, I wanna play another song here.
- 45:27I got I got love too much pulled up.
- 45:30You wanna tell us a little bit about the song before we before we play it?
- 45:33Alright.
- 45:33Alright.
- 45:34So this is we're actually doing the video.
- 45:35See, what's crazy about this song is this song I originally wrote this song, like, before I
- 45:41even dropped high off money like this.
- 45:43I wrote this song about, two probably almost three years ago now.
- 45:46You know?
- 45:47And it was right whenever me and my baby mama split up and all that type of shit.
- 45:51But, like, I was saying, like, I didn't I didn't push this song because I felt like I had
- 45:55to put out the high money and them other type of songs to have people understand me as a
- 46:00artist.
- 46:00You know?
- 46:01So so I had this new album that's dropping at the end of the year, b hills two point o.
- 46:06And what I did is I kinda reached back to them songs that I didn't push, like, love too much.
- 46:11And, you know, I feel like this more understanding of a artist.
- 46:15You know?
- 46:15And we will be dropping the video for well, we gotta shoot the video first, but we'll be
- 46:19having the video coming out too.
- 46:21So it'll probably be at the beginning of next year.
- 46:24But it's actually it's actually a kind of a playoff.
- 46:27Like, the beats are playoff of the j z song cry.
- 46:31And I originally wrote it to the j z song cry, and then I realized I'd get sued if I use that
- 46:35beat.
- 46:36So it's it's, like, flipped and stuff.
- 46:39But it's enough where you can tell that it's this beat, but it's flipped.
- 46:42So it's, it's a different song, though.
- 46:44It's a completely different song.
- 46:45You know?
- 46:45Yeah.
- 46:46It was just the vibe of
- 46:47Yeah.
- 46:47That is the last guy you're trying to get sued by, man.
- 46:50He got all
- 46:50the Oh, god.
- 46:51No.
- 46:51Lawyers in the world.
- 46:52But the but but but I was actually listening to that Jay Z song Cry, and I was all you know, my
- 46:57feelings and stuff.
- 46:58You know?
- 46:59You know, me and my baby mama's buds listen to song Cry and Shea, and I was just like, man, I
- 47:03wanna make a song that has, like, a like, you know what I mean?
- 47:06An effect like that.
- 47:07You know what I mean?
- 47:07So I but felt like I couldn't have dropped this song three years ago, so that's why I reached
- 47:12back and now I'm dropping it.
- 47:13Good.
- 47:13I love it.
- 47:14Well, this is love too much.
- 47:15Bee Hills.
- 47:53Your mama in your ear and your best friend in your ear and all this drama over here.
- 47:57You got me stressed out.
- 47:58You got me stressed out, and I'm about to lose it.
- 48:01I'm sorry that I'm never really sober much.
- 48:04I'm sorry is the only time I'm showing love.
- 48:07I'm sorry that I never really showed enough and that I'm leaving every time that I just sobered
- 48:12up.
- 48:12Is love too much to believe in?
- 48:15Is love too much to get even?
- 48:18Is love too much to believe in?
- 48:20I'm just asking what's the reason.
- 48:24I don't need no fussing.
- 48:27I don't need no grieving.
- 48:29I'm just asking what's the reason.
- 48:32I'm just asking what's the reason.
- 48:35My heart's been broken, ripped apart, reopened, resold, re stolen.
- 48:40And
- 48:41I
- 48:41know that you know it.
- 48:42I can tell that you know this though I hate that you know it.
- 48:46Is love too much to believe in?
- 49:03Just asking what's reason.
- 49:06I'm just asking what's the reason.
- 49:09All this chiefing and drinking.
- 49:11Got us in love for the evening.
- 49:14But after we fuck, I'm leaving.
- 49:17I hit you up next weekend.
- 49:20All this chiefing and drinking.
- 49:23Got us in love for the evening.
- 49:25But after we fuck, I'm leaving.
- 49:28I hit you up next weekend.
- 49:31Is love too much to get even?
- 49:34Is love too much to be leaving?
- 49:37Is love too much to get even?
- 49:40I'm just asking what's the reason.
- 49:43I don't need no fussing.
- 50:02The guy adds the backing vocals and stuff too.
- 50:05I just wanted to send that one because that's, like, the new shit.
- 50:09Yeah.
- 50:10I love it, man.
- 50:10Then and the quality of the beats is top notch, man.
- 50:15Sounds really good.
- 50:17Love that you kinda, you know, singing a little bit on this one.
- 50:20Right?
- 50:21It it it definitely means something to you.
- 50:23Yeah.
- 50:24It's like a it's I think of it as, like, it's like toxic.
- 50:27You know what I mean?
- 50:28Like, it's and it's really, like, putting emotion behind what you're saying.
- 50:32You know what I mean?
- 50:33For sure.
- 50:34But I appreciate it, man.
- 50:36Those are the type of songs that's like because that's, like, one of the songs that, like,
- 50:39whenever I perform that song, like, I always perform that song last because it's like, I get
- 50:44more into it.
- 50:45You know what I mean?
- 50:46Like, performance is love too much to believe in, is love too much to get even.
- 50:51And, like, people, they, like, they feel that.
- 50:53You know what mean?
- 50:53Because whenever you really whenever you're passionate about something, like I said, like,
- 50:57people are gonna feel that.
- 50:58You know what mean?
- 50:58And that's something that you can really capture on stage too.
- 51:01Like, that's why I love, you know, like, performing and stuff.
- 51:04You know what I mean?
- 51:04Yeah.
- 51:05I mean, you definitely captured your passion in that song.
- 51:08The beat had wonderful quality, the vocals.
- 51:11You could
- 51:11feel your emotion in it, and everything was mixed well already even before, you know Yeah.
- 51:17You finalized it.
- 51:18Yeah.
- 51:19I appreciate it.
- 51:19I appreciate it.
- 51:20Yeah.
- 51:21It I I feel like with the video, it's gonna it's gonna kinda, like like, paint the story
- 51:26too.
- 51:27You know what I mean?
- 51:27Like, the like, I got this girl.
- 51:30She's a this model for the video, and we're gonna be, like, in a hotel.
- 51:33And it's gonna be kinda, like, going back and forth, like you know what I mean?
- 51:36Like, type stuff.
- 51:38You know?
- 51:38Like, even with just, like, that the first first, you know, like, how it's, like, I could
- 51:42feel this growing distant.
- 51:43It's in the air.
- 51:44I could tell it's there, like, instant.
- 51:46Lately, things are getting intense, and we both gonna put in our 2¢.
- 51:49Like, you know what I mean?
- 51:50Like, it's, like, you know, it's like, have a conversation back and forth.
- 51:53You know what I mean?
- 51:54Like, it's almost like telling a story.
- 51:55That's why I wanna caption the video.
- 51:57Hopefully, I captured in the video.
- 51:59You know?
- 51:59And I love that you are bringing you're bringing the ideas to life in video too.
- 52:09Right?
- 52:09Like, you you have you have a very solid business mind for like, you understand what the
- 52:16business is now and realizing that you have to be able to visually tell the story as well as
- 52:21having songs and bringing it out and everything.
- 52:25Like, you're bringing the whole package with you every time you come to the table with a
- 52:29track.
- 52:30And not that we're gonna have a music video for all of them, but for the ones that mean
- 52:34something to you, like, you you have to be able to visually tell that story and and what's your
- 52:40story.
- 52:41You know?
- 52:42And I feel I love the forethought.
- 52:44Yeah.
- 52:44And I feel like I feel like every song, you should wanna make a video to every song that
- 52:48you're doing.
- 52:48Like, you know what mean?
- 52:49Like, if I had if I had the resources, I would have a video to every song.
- 52:53You know what I mean?
- 52:53But, like, but I feel like that's you know what I mean?
- 52:56Like, it's almost like every song is, like, your baby kind of.
- 52:59Like you know what I mean?
- 53:01Like and then it's, like, type of songs like those.
- 53:03Like like, high off money, like that song, like, yeah, whenever people, they're like, oh,
- 53:07that's a dope song.
- 53:08It just kinda goes in one ear, not the other, even though, like, I like the song.
- 53:12But whenever people, they like like that love too much song, it means more because I was
- 53:16going through something when I made that song.
- 53:18Like, that song like, music really saved my life.
- 53:21Like, you know what I mean?
- 53:21Like, because because before music, you know, like, I was going through stuff, like, you
- 53:27know, even with, like, drug addiction and stuff.
- 53:30I've been sober for about three years now, you know, coming up here, but that was a lot of
- 53:33things that broke up.
- 53:34The shit with my baby mama was just me being on drugs and, like, all that type of stuff.
- 53:39So so it music filled that void.
- 53:42You know what I mean?
- 53:43Because it's like I feel like I feel like if you have an addicted personality, you have to
- 53:47be addicted to something.
- 53:48You know what I mean?
- 53:49So whether it's some people are addicted to work.
- 53:51Some people are addicted to hobbies or whatever it is.
- 53:54You know what I mean?
- 53:55Some people are addicted to alcohol or drugs.
- 53:56So it's like it's like even though, like, you know, I'm clean, but I had to have something to
- 54:01fill that void.
- 54:02You know what I mean?
- 54:03And music felt filled that and have people other people, like, fill that too.
- 54:08You know what I mean?
- 54:09It that's why I love music.
- 54:11Because because you know what mean?
- 54:12Like, even people that don't even like, somebody cannot even know what you're saying
- 54:15live in another country, and they'll still, feel what you're going through.
- 54:19You know what mean?
- 54:20Or feel the song.
- 54:21You've you know what I'm saying?
- 54:22As someone who spent time in another country, I lived in Mexico for a year, before I came back
- 54:29into a couple years in prison.
- 54:30I was on the run-in Mexico, and that's where I, like, found music again.
- 54:34Right?
- 54:34Like, went through this bad breakup, got myself in a bunch of trouble, was like, fuck.
- 54:39I ain't going to prison for weed.
- 54:41I went to Mexico, and, that's where, like, I rediscovered what music meant to me because
- 54:48when I was in my darkest hour, I wasn't playing music.
- 54:50Like, I didn't wanna feel good.
- 54:51Right?
- 54:52I didn't wanna do that, and that that's always been it for me.
- 54:55But, yeah, man, you gotta have an outlet for that.
- 54:58I have an addictive personality too.
- 55:00When I'm in on something, I'm all in.
- 55:03And I'm gonna do that to the fullest that I can, and and I'm very grateful to have to have
- 55:10this now.
- 55:11Right?
- 55:11Like, I'm addicted to this.
- 55:12Sitting in front of
- 55:13me Yeah.
- 55:14Getting to meet other people and to listen to their art and and, like, I I I'm so grateful to
- 55:20have this because I what I would be doing without it.
- 55:24Oh, yeah.
- 55:24I mean, the connections that I've made.
- 55:26I mean, I've only been doing mine since June, but the connections in them four or five months
- 55:32that have been made, I wouldn't give them connections up for anything in the world.
- 55:37And, you know
- 55:37Yeah.
- 55:38And on your song, I I really like the emotion you put into that one.
- 55:43Honestly, out of the two so far, I like that one the best because Yeah.
- 55:46I appreciate more relatable in my opinion than and you connect with the song better.
- 55:52Yeah.
- 55:52Yeah.
- 55:53But I feel like I feel like in a way, though, I had to drop maybe I didn't have to drop the
- 55:57other music first, but I felt like, you know, like, it it makes it where, like you know what
- 56:02I mean?
- 56:02Like, people because y'all see, like, my y'all see on the because the other song that I sent
- 56:07in, the envy song, that one's actually one that I just that I produced.
- 56:10I'm on the song at the end, but I produced that for this other artist.
- 56:14Because that's why I wanted to show y'all with the music because I wanted to, like, have the
- 56:18one let y'all see, like, the rapping song.
- 56:21And then the love too much is, like, them those are songs I really love.
- 56:25Like, you know what I mean?
- 56:26Like like, that's why, like, you know, even with this video and stuff, like because it I
- 56:30think it's gonna be my fourth video.
- 56:31So it took four videos to get to the song that I wanted to do.
- 56:36You know what I mean?
- 56:38But but, no, I appreciate it, man.
- 56:41It it means a lot when there are people, like you know?
- 56:43Like I said, like, I like everybody that likes any of my music, any of my songs.
- 56:46You know mean?
- 56:46Even people that don't.
- 56:47You know?
- 56:48Because just like you were talking about with these podcasts and these streams is, like, the
- 56:52connections that you meet, like like, you know, like, I know I I've interviewed artists from,
- 56:57like, South Africa all over the whole world.
- 56:59You know what I mean?
- 56:59And a lot of a lot of my biggest fans are, like, over there, like, in South Africa and
- 57:04stuff.
- 57:04And it's because they appreciate the fact that they're getting their music played on American.
- 57:09You know what I mean?
- 57:09It means everything to them.
- 57:10Like, some just little to us, like like us playing a song on here.
- 57:14Like, you know what I mean?
- 57:15It but to them, you know what I mean?
- 57:17That's, like, the biggest thing in the world, like, to them.
- 57:19You know what I mean?
- 57:20So it's like it's
- 57:22like They're getting played in America.
- 57:23Right?
- 57:24And they can go back to all their friends and be like, I'm getting played on this show, and
- 57:27they don't have to know that there's, you know, three people watching that show.
- 57:31You know?
- 57:32Yeah.
- 57:32Exactly.
- 57:33Even when there's only three people, like, those you know what I mean?
- 57:36You got you gotta appreciate every like, whether it's three people or, like, 3,000,000
- 57:41people.
- 57:41You know what I mean?
- 57:42That's the that's the difference between people like, that's what I because I've and just in
- 57:46this three years that I've been doing this.
- 57:48You know what mean?
- 57:48Like, I've seen a lot of people come and go, you know, with artists and podcasters and
- 57:53stuff.
- 57:53And what it is is if you're just doing it because you're this is just what you love to
- 57:58do, then you're gonna last just like the the the turt the turtle outran the rabbit.
- 58:03You know what I mean?
- 58:04Because the turtle, he's slow and steady.
- 58:06Like, if you're doing this because, like you said, this is what you enjoy to do.
- 58:09You this is your Wednesday night.
- 58:10Your wife's gone.
- 58:11It's like, hell, yeah.
- 58:11I'm gonna get on my podcast.
- 58:12You're doing it because you wanna do it.
- 58:14Like, you know what I mean?
- 58:15And and it shows.
- 58:17And and whenever you do it like that, then because the people that that they're doing it
- 58:20because they're like, oh, I wanna I'm a I'm a make money on this, or I'm gonna and then they
- 58:24and then they do and they get three views and then they give up.
- 58:27You know what mean?
- 58:27Just like whenever people post stuff, and then they might not get as many likes as they want
- 58:32or as many reactions as they want, so they stop posting.
- 58:35But the thing is, though, is you gotta just keep doing it, and you gotta keep because
- 58:38eventually, somebody's gonna click on it.
- 58:39Eventually, somebody's gonna keep seeing you, and they're just gonna be like, man, what is
- 58:42this?
- 58:43But you have to make sure that whenever they do click on you, put out a good product at the
- 58:46same.
- 58:47You know?
- 58:47Because a lot of people, they'd putting out so much stuff.
- 58:49Or you know what I mean?
- 58:50That they don't even care about what they're doing.
- 58:52Like, you gotta make sure that whatever you're doing is you're putting your all into it
- 58:56because you never know.
- 58:57Like, a lot people only go give you one chance.
- 58:59You know?
- 58:59They might only click on you one time, so you gotta make sure whenever they click on you,
- 59:02it's something good.
- 59:03You know?
- 59:04No.
- 59:04And it takes time to build up to that point where you are good at what you're doing.
- 59:08Right?
- 59:08Like, that's when I set out to when I started the podcast, it was audio only.
- 59:13I just started with all my friends.
- 59:14Right?
- 59:14I already had a massive network of musicians around me, you know, twenty years in the
- 59:18industry.
- 59:19Like, I already had it, and I was just, calling all my friends.
- 59:21Hey.
- 59:22Just get on a conversation with me.
- 59:23It was audio only.
- 59:24I had a little Zoom p four.
- 59:26My phone plugged right into it.
- 59:27So it's just like, just get on a phone call with me.
- 59:29And I sat here in front of a microphone at home with my headphones on and nobody watching and
- 59:34got to learn how to do that before we ever started doing, you know, even Zoom interviews.
- 59:40And Zoom interviews, I started doing, like, last December.
- 59:42And then now we've brought that.
- 59:44So, like, we were very I was pretty confident in my abilities before I ever started turning
- 59:49this thing on live and going live out to the rest of the streams.
- 59:53But I've been going live on my phone, on my Facebook, like, every day for almost a year
- 59:59now, if not more.
- 1:00:00Like, I do it so long that I forget that, oh, I've been having this for a while.
- 1:00:04Yeah.
- 1:00:04I've been seeing you.
- 1:00:05I've been watching this last couple days and stuff since since you've been on on the stream.
- 1:00:09It brought brought my attention.
- 1:00:10That's why I was asking where you lived at because it always looks so cold.
- 1:00:13You got gloves on.
- 1:00:14You know?
- 1:00:15Yeah.
- 1:00:15Was like, dang.
- 1:00:16No way he's in Missouri.
- 1:00:17Now.
- 1:00:17Like, 40 degrees in the morning.
- 1:00:19It's about to get a lot worse, Bobby.
- 1:00:20You just wait till
- 1:00:21Stop.
- 1:00:21I'm cold.
- 1:00:22That's terrible.
- 1:00:23I'll have my parka on.
- 1:00:24I'm a have my smartphone, but I still out there walking and doing my thing, and I still go
- 1:00:28live.
- 1:00:29And my phone will be freezing, like, literally freezing.
- 1:00:32And but I don't like, I there's a commitment to it.
- 1:00:35Right?
- 1:00:36Yeah.
- 1:00:36Because I've had so many people that have been like, yeah, man.
- 1:00:38I I watch your lives the time.
- 1:00:40And Yeah.
- 1:00:40They they're not liking them.
- 1:00:42Right?
- 1:00:42But they're watching.
- 1:00:43Right?
- 1:00:44Or they're seeing them on the replay.
- 1:00:45And today, we had a full realization of that too where this gal we've been friends on
- 1:00:51Facebook probably because we connected on some veteran stuff.
- 1:00:54Her her son, I think she said, is a veteran and really involved in some things.
- 1:00:59So probably connected with us there, but then she was seeing my lives and saw me talking
- 1:01:04about the music and our Momo meetups on set on Wednesdays at seven.
- 1:01:08And it was like, oh, I'm gonna come and check that out.
- 1:01:11So she ends up clicking the link, and then she falls in, and she's like, oh, I'm a music
- 1:01:15networker, man.
- 1:01:16I know everybody in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- 1:01:18Right?
- 1:01:19And all of a sudden, you're like, oh, cool.
- 1:01:20We just tapped into a whole new market now.
- 1:01:22We know where to go, who to talk to, and all this different world.
- 1:01:26That's right.
- 1:01:26Just from showing up live on Facebook every day and talking for five minutes, like, showing
- 1:01:31some appreciation for people, watching and tuning into the things that we're doing.
- 1:01:36And now it's like, well, now I can't stop doing it.
- 1:01:39Right?
- 1:01:39Like, knowing that it's having some effect out there in the world.
- 1:01:42Yeah.
- 1:01:43Is it a million followers?
- 1:01:44No.
- 1:01:45But it's it's attention that it's connection.
- 1:01:48Right?
- 1:01:49And that's what I've been doing this for.
- 1:01:50And and it's it's awesome to see somebody else out there like like you and Trizzy and just
- 1:01:58like what you guys have built down there is the same thing that we've kinda built at the scene
- 1:02:02projects.
- 1:02:02Even though we're not in a major market, we've been able to connect with all these artists,
- 1:02:07and now we have six hosts on the network.
- 1:02:09And everybody's doing their thing, and we're able to bring people through.
- 1:02:13And it it was really cool to see somebody else doing exactly what we're doing and to get to
- 1:02:19connect and to get to see my music out there because I don't
- 1:02:22Yeah.
- 1:02:22Like, yeah, my my song's on the intro, but I'm not putting my videos on every day and, look at
- 1:02:27me.
- 1:02:27Look at like, y'all y'all get enough of me.
- 1:02:29Right?
- 1:02:29Yeah.
- 1:02:30Look at all these people and put the spotlight on them.
- 1:02:33So it's nice to, like, go somewhere else and have somebody willing to put a spotlight on you
- 1:02:37sometimes.
- 1:02:37Right?
- 1:02:38And to
- 1:02:38say, hey.
- 1:02:38No.
- 1:02:38Look at this guy doing his thing.
- 1:02:40So it was cool to be able to bring you on tonight and to get to vibe.
- 1:02:45You know?
- 1:02:45I wanna play Envy before it gets too late, man.
- 1:02:47It's already 10:00 here.
- 1:02:49I am not a night owl.
- 1:02:50I'll be up at 5AM.
- 1:02:51He's an old person.
- 1:02:53He's an old person.
- 1:02:54We love him.
- 1:02:54He's a one that Willie,
- 1:02:56what am I?
- 1:02:57Because I'm gonna be in bed in an hour and up at six.
- 1:03:00I'll be I'll I'll be in bed too.
- 1:03:02I'm I don't I think it's just I think we all getting old, man.
- 1:03:05Because Boo
- 1:03:05boo, that's because your Internet's getting turned off.
- 1:03:09Not not even.
- 1:03:11Yeah.
- 1:03:12The only Bobby, you're lucky, man.
- 1:03:13The only person we troll here is Boo boo.
- 1:03:17Everybody needs somebody.
- 1:03:19You know?
- 1:03:19But, no, before you play that one, you know, that's the power of networking, not just on the
- 1:03:23Internet.
- 1:03:23I mean, look.
- 1:03:24I reached out looking for booking agencies, and I you know, that's how the connection here was
- 1:03:31formed.
- 1:03:32You know?
- 1:03:34Yeah.
- 1:03:35Definitely.
- 1:03:35And I and I feel like I feel like just like how you said, like, even if there's only 10 people,
- 1:03:40but but I feel like if you have 10 followers, you gotta multiply that by 10.
- 1:03:44So there's, like, 10 if you're seeing 10 people, there's really a 100 people because
- 1:03:47there's 90 there's 90 people that aren't liking it.
- 1:03:50They're but they're still watching it.
- 1:03:51You know?
- 1:03:52Because, like like, I've talked to people that, like, I grew up with and and, you know, that I
- 1:03:56ain't talked to for years, and they'll be like, oh, I see you doing your thing out there.
- 1:04:00You know?
- 1:04:00I see you in Saint Louis.
- 1:04:01You're doing your thing.
- 1:04:01But the thing is, though, is I had no idea that they even knew that I was doing anything
- 1:04:05because they never liked nothing.
- 1:04:06They never shared nothing.
- 1:04:07They never commented, but they're still watching.
- 1:04:10You know?
- 1:04:10So even even if you're not getting, you know, the gratitude that you think you are, man, just
- 1:04:15keep you gotta keep pushing it.
- 1:04:17You gotta keep doing it.
- 1:04:18You know what mean?
- 1:04:18And there's been times that, like where, like, I'd wake up and I'd be like, don't even wanna
- 1:04:22do my stream.
- 1:04:23You know?
- 1:04:23And then and then, like, thirty minutes later, I'd have somebody message me like, you're going
- 1:04:26live, man?
- 1:04:27Well, where you at, man?
- 1:04:28You know?
- 1:04:28I'd be like, man, I didn't even think nobody even cared if I went live.
- 1:04:31You you know what I mean?
- 1:04:32Like, you never really know what you mean to people.
- 1:04:34You know?
- 1:04:35Yeah.
- 1:04:35There's somebody out there that looks at you as a superstar.
- 1:04:38You know what I mean?
- 1:04:38And and appreciate appreciate the quality of the people that that mess with you.
- 1:04:43You know what I mean?
- 1:04:44Instead of the quantity because because a lot of times, like, just like how you're saying,
- 1:04:47like, playing people's music or or or networking and stuff, like, those are people
- 1:04:50that really connect with you or, like, people that see you perform at a show that they really
- 1:04:54connect with you because they you know them.
- 1:04:57You know what I mean?
- 1:04:57Like, if somebody messages me, I'm a message them back.
- 1:05:00I'm a try to message them back unless they're, like, a bot or trying to sell me something.
- 1:05:04But you know what I mean?
- 1:05:05But, like
- 1:05:05Even I'm even messaging those people back.
- 1:05:07Like, I appreciate a fan.
- 1:05:09It's like, have people that message me every day, like, just good morning.
- 1:05:12I'm just like, good morning.
- 1:05:13Like, you know what I mean?
- 1:05:14Like, dudes, like, grown dudes.
- 1:05:15You know?
- 1:05:15And I'm just you know?
- 1:05:16Like, I don't think nothing weird about it.
- 1:05:18It's just like they that's all that's all they ever say too.
- 1:05:21You know what mean?
- 1:05:21But I messaged them back because it's like you know what I mean?
- 1:05:24I appreciate that.
- 1:05:24It's just like just like artist, you know, fan mail.
- 1:05:27Like, you know you what I mean?
- 1:05:29I don't want no Stan coming after me and nothing.
- 1:05:31You know what I'm saying?
- 1:05:31So I love all my fans.
- 1:05:34Answer I answer
- 1:05:35every text message, every letter.
- 1:05:38Yeah.
- 1:05:39I answer.
- 1:05:40I love you guys.
- 1:05:42That's my life, man.
- 1:05:44Showing up and just saying thank you.
- 1:05:46Thank you.
- 1:05:47Hey.
- 1:05:47This is what we're doing today.
- 1:05:48We had a great episode last night.
- 1:05:50You know, tomorrow, I'll be on there talking about hanging out with Bobby, telling everybody
- 1:05:54to go and check you out.
- 1:05:55Because a lot of people aren't aren't here with us right now.
- 1:05:57Right?
- 1:05:58They're all living in they're not in the present with us.
- 1:06:01They're living in the past.
- 1:06:03Right?
- 1:06:03They're seeing this stuff maybe three, four days later.
- 1:06:06And, that's the thing about some of these interviews is, like, my best interviews are
- 1:06:11always coming up.
- 1:06:12No matter if I just did the best interview of my life today, like, nobody's gonna see it for
- 1:06:16two, three months.
- 1:06:17Right?
- 1:06:18And by the time that it airs, I've kinda forgotten about it too, but it changed my life
- 1:06:22in that moment.
- 1:06:23And
- 1:06:24And what I do what what I do too and with y'all's permission, if I could do it on this
- 1:06:27is, like, I is I'll make reels.
- 1:06:29You know?
- 1:06:30And then and then but whenever I make the reel on the comments, I have the link so people,
- 1:06:34they can go watch the full thing.
- 1:06:36Because that's a lot of times too with, like, TikToks made everybody where they don't a lot
- 1:06:40of people don't wanna sit through a whole hour long thing, but so you can make highlights and
- 1:06:44highlight the reels and then be able to give them the option to be able to go watch the full
- 1:06:48thing and and then be able to see it.
- 1:06:50Because like you said, a lot of people, they they don't they might not catch you live.
- 1:06:54You know what I mean?
- 1:06:54But they'll see it they'll see it somehow.
- 1:06:56You know?
- 1:06:57But but but yeah.
- 1:06:58So the song Envy, I produced it.
- 1:07:01I made the beat, did all the engineering, did everything.
- 1:07:04The artist that's on it is Stroky Bobby.
- 1:07:06He's from Louisiana.
- 1:07:08He's a a dope artist.
- 1:07:09I actually met him on my stream.
- 1:07:10He's sending this song called heart too big, and it, like, really, like, touched me.
- 1:07:14You know?
- 1:07:15Like, he's you know, I was just like, damn.
- 1:07:16Like, I love that sound.
- 1:07:17So I saw so, you know, I had this beat.
- 1:07:20I sent it to him.
- 1:07:21What's crazy about this song is I had I had a different version of it where, like, I did
- 1:07:26three verses and and did the hook and everything.
- 1:07:29You know?
- 1:07:29So I sent it to him as, like, open verse.
- 1:07:31Like, I was like, yeah.
- 1:07:32You wanna get on the song?
- 1:07:33So I sent it to him, and then he sent back the song, and he did the hook, the verse.
- 1:07:37It left me, like, a minute and a half at the end.
- 1:07:39But but but but whenever I heard the song, I was just like, man, it's it's so dope, though.
- 1:07:44You're like, this is
- 1:07:45better than what I said.
- 1:07:47I was like, this is better.
- 1:07:48Like, it was so it's supposed to be, like he was just supposed to be open feature on song,
- 1:07:51but he end I ended up being an open feature on my own song.
- 1:07:54You know?
- 1:07:55I love it.
- 1:07:55We have a I mean,
- 1:07:56that's the muse, man.
- 1:07:57That that's like, how do you deny that at that point?
- 1:08:00Like, you can't be so selfish to to deny the song it's due.
- 1:08:08And, it it's really cool that you were able to create something that inspired someone else so
- 1:08:13much to do that too.
- 1:08:14Right?
- 1:08:14So I'm looking forward to listening to this one.
- 1:08:16This is Envy.
- 1:08:17Yeah.
- 1:10:41Always in a bad mood every time I see you so easily judging someone else.
- 1:10:46But you put that effort in worrying about yourself.
- 1:10:49That's why I
- 1:10:50look in the mirror when I need somebody's help.
- 1:10:52Only myself I trust.
- 1:10:54So if anything happens, I'll just self destruct.
- 1:10:57I take the weed out the wrapper, then I spark the blunt.
- 1:11:00I'm still blow hours after you can't tell me a thing I say.
- 1:11:04Fuck them.
- 1:11:04Fuck doing what I want while you're doing what you can.
- 1:11:07You just pretend to log like you the man.
- 1:11:57Yeah.
- 1:11:57But shout out Stokey Bobby, man.
- 1:11:59He's definitely a dope dope dope singer and dope artist.
- 1:12:02You know?
- 1:12:03Yeah.
- 1:12:04That was that was killer, man.
- 1:12:05I I loved you, I love both of your guys' stuff on there.
- 1:12:09It's nice to hear you come in at the end because I'm like, oh, there's our boy.
- 1:12:12Right?
- 1:12:13Yeah.
- 1:12:13Yeah.
- 1:12:14Right.
- 1:12:14It's like you see what I meant, though?
- 1:12:16Like, it was like, I'm not it was like, he just left me that little bitty spot on the song.
- 1:12:20Yeah.
- 1:12:20I had to extend the beat even to to put my whole thing on there, man.
- 1:12:24Shout out to Bobby.
- 1:12:26I actually
- 1:12:26made that
- 1:12:27beat on this drum machine right here, man.
- 1:12:30Like, that's, like, that that's one of them songs that's like because I feel like whenever
- 1:12:33whenever you make the beat, it's like it's it's even more your baby.
- 1:12:37So you know I mean?
- 1:12:38That's why, like like, the only people the only song like, I've I've produced like, I had that
- 1:12:44one, and I had this love comes love goes that I did with t thirty three and then hypnotized,
- 1:12:48but I'm on all those songs.
- 1:12:49Like, you know what mean?
- 1:12:50Like, I ain't never produced the song where I just gave the beat to somebody because it's
- 1:12:54almost like I feel like that's like giving your kid away to somebody.
- 1:12:58You know?
- 1:12:59Like, 80% of the songs on my albums, I made the beats.
- 1:13:02Like, most of all the beats I produce like, I'm, like, a rapper that wants to be a
- 1:13:06producer.
- 1:13:06Like, mostly producer wants wants to be rappers, but I'm a rapper that wants to be a
- 1:13:10producer, but I just mainly produce for myself, though.
- 1:13:12I understand that feeling, man.
- 1:13:14That's exactly how I am too.
- 1:13:16And, I mean, that song definitely proved you're not only a good rapper.
- 1:13:20You have very good skills as a producer as well.
- 1:13:23You just
- 1:13:24killed it with that beat, and you both absolutely killed it.
- 1:13:27It made a dope track there.
- 1:13:29I appreciate it.
- 1:13:30That's what I wanted to show y'all with those song selection coming on the show.
- 1:13:34I wanted to show I wanted y'all to see that I could rap, be emotional, and be a producer.
- 1:13:39So I'm glad that y'all that y'all seen what I was trying to do, you know, for sure.
- 1:13:43Yeah.
- 1:13:44You you did it, man.
- 1:13:45That was, that was awesome, man.
- 1:13:47Bobby, I I'm really looking forward to continuing to, to be friends, to keep showing
- 1:13:53up on each other's streams Yeah.
- 1:13:55To keep on just growing what we're doing, man.
- 1:13:59I'm so damn proud of you.
- 1:14:00Yeah.
- 1:14:01Every Sunday every Sunday at 10AM.
- 1:14:03So so y'all all got a open visitation, man.
- 1:14:06Just hit just hit on my messenger, and I'll send y'all the link or you always send your
- 1:14:11music in.
- 1:14:11I'll play y'all's music or any artists that y'all have.
- 1:14:14Like, we don't even though it's mainly, like, hip hop and stuff because that's what, like,
- 1:14:18what I make and and then people around me and people on the show.
- 1:14:21But but we but we I enjoy I really enjoy other type music too.
- 1:14:26You know what I mean?
- 1:14:27Like like like, whenever whenever I'm, like, just chilling, like you know what I mean?
- 1:14:31Like, Bill Withers is, like, one of my favorite like, that's one of my biggest inspirations of,
- 1:14:35like, Bill Withers.
- 1:14:36Because, like, you were saying, like, songwriters and and how he would play all the
- 1:14:40instruments.
- 1:14:41He could get on the piano and and play and and type too like that.
- 1:14:44So I definitely appreciate and love, like, all sorts of music.
- 1:14:47You know what I mean?
- 1:14:47And it's refreshing on the stream whenever you're always just hearing this, like, you know
- 1:14:52what I mean, computer generated hip hop music, and then somebody comes in actually playing a
- 1:14:56guitar and singing.
- 1:14:58Like like, whenever I forgot what the name of the song is, but whenever we were playing it
- 1:15:02the other last weekend, I was just like, man, you could tell, like, it's just alive.
- 1:15:07Like, you could tell, like, it was like y'all in the studio playing instruments.
- 1:15:10Like, that's so refreshing nowadays.
- 1:15:13That would be Drifter when I submitted Drifter.
- 1:15:16Yeah.
- 1:15:17I loved it because it was like it's it's so refreshing whenever it's so much is, like, just
- 1:15:21computer generated and plug ins.
- 1:15:23Like, it's so nice to hear, like, live music.
- 1:15:26Like, live there's something about live music.
- 1:15:29You know what I mean?
- 1:15:29Like like, people playing instruments and and singing on a live mic.
- 1:15:33Like, that's the greatest thing ever.
- 1:15:35Like, I love that.
- 1:15:35Like, you know what mean?
- 1:15:36I absolutely love the live music feel, and I'm actually hopefully going to have a full band
- 1:15:42playable EP coming out next year.
- 1:15:46Oh, that's awesome.
- 1:15:46That's awesome.
- 1:15:48If I knew if I knew enough people that could play instruments for me, I would.
- 1:15:51But the thing is, though, is just like I was saying, like, nowadays, you know, it's like as
- 1:15:55a artist, everybody's, like, trying to get in your pockets.
- 1:15:59Like you know what I mean?
- 1:15:59That's why I've learned to do every a lot of stuff just by myself.
- 1:16:02Because whenever you try to reach out to somebody, then they just try to charge you
- 1:16:06something, which I understand.
- 1:16:07Like, everybody feels like they're worth something.
- 1:16:09You know what mean?
- 1:16:10But at the same time, like you said, none of us are making money.
- 1:16:13We're all starving, so why not help each other out?
- 1:16:15And then whenever we get to the big piece of pie, then we could all eat instead of everybody
- 1:16:19just pulling each other down.
- 1:16:21You know what I mean?
- 1:16:21Because that's how it is.
- 1:16:22Like like like, it's just the music industry, especially in the levels that that we're doing,
- 1:16:28it's like everybody's just trying to take advantage of everybody.
- 1:16:31The way I've always heard it is everyone wants to feed off your crumbs instead of waiting for
- 1:16:36the feast.
- 1:16:37Yeah.
- 1:16:38Yeah.
- 1:16:38That's greatly put.
- 1:16:39You know?
- 1:16:40It's true.
- 1:16:41You know?
- 1:16:41And and and a lot of people, they wanna sell the building before they even laid the
- 1:16:45foundation.
- 1:16:46You know?
- 1:16:47Like, a lot of people, they they they might have the right, you know, ideas.
- 1:16:51Like, they do wanna help you, and they wanna hit you up and be like, oh, I wanna manage you.
- 1:16:54I I wanna promote you.
- 1:16:55I wanna do all this, but they don't have the resources to be able to do it.
- 1:16:59You know what mean?
- 1:16:59They haven't built the built the structure yet.
- 1:17:02You know what I mean?
- 1:17:03They just have the dream.
- 1:17:05You know?
- 1:17:05And a lot of people, they're trying to sell the dream, but you gotta build that dream before
- 1:17:09you can sell it.
- 1:17:10You know what I mean?
- 1:17:11A dream isn't nothing without till you build it.
- 1:17:14You know what I mean?
- 1:17:14And people got it backwards where they're trying to just sell their dream, and and they
- 1:17:18don't wanna put in the work nowadays.
- 1:17:20You know?
- 1:17:23Awesome stuff, man.
- 1:17:25I'll be tapping in on those Sundays because I don't have, anything going on usually at 10AM.
- 1:17:30Football season's coming to a close.
- 1:17:31I usually do a coaches show with our head football coach of the high school team here in
- 1:17:37my little town.
- 1:17:38We get together and talk about the high school team, but their season's winding down now.
- 1:17:42So I'll have my Sundays back.
- 1:17:44I got some new songs to share.
- 1:17:46You heard one of them.
- 1:17:48Yeah.
- 1:17:48I I would love to bring on some other folks too and to hear their music and to bring some bring
- 1:17:53a different flavor over to your stream and to start being a part of what you're doing, man.
- 1:17:59I think it's awesome.
- 1:18:00Appreciate as an artist, I appreciate it.
- 1:18:03As a fellow podcaster, I appreciate it.
- 1:18:05And, yeah, man, I feel like we're gonna really make a dent and to really shine a light where
- 1:18:11other people aren't.
- 1:18:12Right?
- 1:18:13I I say that, you know, we're we're shining the light in the dark corners of music right now.
- 1:18:17And I I think that you're doing the same thing, Bobby.
- 1:18:20So been a pleasure getting to kick it with you tonight.
- 1:18:23And Yeah.
- 1:18:24I really appreciate y'all having
- 1:18:25me.
- 1:18:25More of it.
- 1:18:26Yeah.
- 1:18:26I really appreciate y'all having me.
- 1:18:28Like, I really do.
- 1:18:29Like I said, it like you were saying, it's nice to have the attention, the spotlight turn back
- 1:18:33on you whenever you're so used to, like, interviewing and talking to other people.
- 1:18:37It's nice to, like, have people talk about you, you know, talk about yourself for a little bit.
- 1:18:41You know?
- 1:18:43I love it.
- 1:18:44For sure.
- 1:18:45I appreciate y'all.
- 1:18:45Willie, anything in parting here?
- 1:18:49No.
- 1:18:49Just oh, sorry.
- 1:18:51You go first, Willie.
- 1:18:53No.

- 1:20:37I was supposed to be coming up and covering that show, but I'm trying to get my work shift
- 1:20:40scheduled.
- 1:20:41Okay.
- 1:20:42Yeah.
- 1:20:42That'd be dope.
- 1:20:43Yeah.
- 1:20:44Shout out.
- 1:20:44It's called Out The Blue Out The Blue Showcase.
- 1:20:49I'm usually bad with remembering the names of them.
- 1:20:51I got the flyer.
- 1:20:52That's the only way I know it.
- 1:20:53Know because the flyer is my profile picture, so that's the only reason why I know it.
- 1:20:57I kept seeing and it's easy to remember the blue.
- 1:21:00You know?
- 1:21:01Listen.
- 1:21:02My memory is crap.
- 1:21:03If I don't have something to look at, you know, car accident, beating your head off the windows
- 1:21:08a couple times kinda destroy destroys your memory.
- 1:21:11You know?
- 1:21:11So
- 1:21:12Yeah.
- 1:21:12Oh, yeah.
- 1:21:13Yeah.
- 1:21:14I have selected memory.
- 1:21:15I can remember lyrics and stuff like that, but I can't remember anything, like birth dates and
- 1:21:20none of that.
- 1:21:21You know?
- 1:21:21Oh god.
- 1:21:22I'm the same way.
- 1:21:24Yeah.
- 1:21:25I'll have to let the things out if I'm ever down from mine and Bubba's area, but that's a
- 1:21:30bit of a stretch.
- 1:21:31You think I'm in the middle of nowhere.
- 1:21:33Boo Boo's even more in the middle of nowhere.
- 1:21:35Like, at least I'm close to some stuff, but he's Where are you at?
- 1:21:38Where's where's boo boo at?
- 1:21:39I'm in Northeastern South Dakota.
- 1:21:42Okay.
- 1:21:43So a bigger part of middle of nowhere.
- 1:21:45So y'all both in so y'all so y'all both in South Dakota?
- 1:21:48Yeah.
- 1:21:49But we're, like, three hours away from one another.
- 1:21:51See, I've been
- 1:21:51to South what we are.
- 1:21:53I've been to Sturgis.
- 1:21:55I went to Sturgis one time, and I've seen Mount Rushmore and all that, the Black Hills.
- 1:22:00There you go.
- 1:22:00So that's where I grew up was on that side.
- 1:22:02I grew up in Deadwood.
- 1:22:03Yeah.
- 1:22:04It's nice to And I still got a lot of I'm actually going out there this weekend for the
- 1:22:08Wild West Songwriters Festival.
- 1:22:09So I'll be out there playing music and connecting with other artists.
- 1:22:13And, I mean, that's how this thing all started was, like, I'm already in all these places
- 1:22:17where artists are and, like, nobody is out here trying to talk to them about them.
- 1:22:23Right?
- 1:22:23Like, everybody's out here just like, oh, look at me.
- 1:22:26Look at me.
- 1:22:26Look at me.
- 1:22:27And I'm like Yeah.
- 1:22:27Yeah.
- 1:22:28Look at you.
- 1:22:28You're so talented.
- 1:22:29You know?
- 1:22:30Like
- 1:22:30And and it's genius networking too because because not only because you're highlighting
- 1:22:34the other artists, but but by you doing that, those people are paying to their their fan base
- 1:22:39are are tuning into you too because they're like, okay.
- 1:22:42Let's see what this is about.
- 1:22:43And like you said, like like, you know, like, if if you have a good product yourself, you
- 1:22:48know what I mean, like, good dope sells itself.
- 1:22:50So so they're gonna, you know what I mean, tune tap into you as well.
- 1:22:54You know?
- 1:22:55Well and that's what this show has become, and I look for I mean, this is only the fourth or
- 1:22:59fifth week that we've done this, but every time, we do, I get such a high off of it.
- 1:23:04I'm usually tired by the end, but I wake up the next morning like, man, was so cool.
- 1:23:09That was
- 1:23:09so rad, man.
- 1:23:11And and now people are gonna see that, and it's only gonna continue to grow.
- 1:23:15Tonight, we got five people watching live.
- 1:23:17Like, that that's you know, the last week was the the say yeah.
- 1:23:21There you go.
- 1:23:23Yay, Missouri.
- 1:23:24Shout out to Renee, one of our super fans.
- 1:23:26She's been here
- 1:23:26over the over
- 1:23:27the she was really digging on everything that that you've had going on.
- 1:23:31So you got In the
- 1:23:32got another fan.
- 1:23:33And the thing is, though, is is it's not only about, like like you said, like like you were
- 1:23:37saying, like, we're in the future because we're leaving a digital foot mark.
- 1:23:41You know what I mean?
- 1:23:42So it might be, like, a hundred years from now.
- 1:23:43Like, just like how peep we're digging up artifacts and being like, look at this clay
- 1:23:47bowl.
- 1:23:48You know what I mean?
- 1:23:48A thousand years ago, they're gonna be digging up and they'll be like, oh, check out this
- 1:23:51podcast.
- 1:23:52Yeah.
- 1:23:53They're gonna be digging through the archive, man Yeah. And
- 1:23:55And to find this legacy that we've left of all these amazing artists.
- 1:23:59And, yeah, I talk about it all the time, man.
- 1:24:01And that's
- 1:24:01And realizing it in in real time.
- 1:24:03Like, a lot of people, like you said, they might not see this.
- 1:24:06You know, it might not be a hundred years.
- 1:24:08It might be ten years, right, or two years.
- 1:24:10But, yeah, I I equated it to this, and you kind of hit on something that that I've kinda put
- 1:24:15into words where, like, we got a bunch of hooks in a bunch of coattails right now.
- 1:24:20Yeah.
- 1:24:20And anytime one of those artists hits, we have a good friend of ours, Samantha Grimes, who's
- 1:24:25being you know, is available to get nominated for a Grammy.
- 1:24:28Right?
- 1:24:29Like, if she gets nominated and wins a fucking Grammy, bro, people are gonna see her
- 1:24:34on the interview, man.
- 1:24:35My show.
- 1:24:36When you search her name, we're going to come up, and now they're tapping into that.
- 1:24:40And and the more artists that you connect with, the more opportunities you have for that.
- 1:24:44So it's kind of the get back, right, for all the the time and the effort that we put in that
- 1:24:50eventually one of these people make it.
- 1:24:52Right?
- 1:24:52And and we get to kinda go along for the ride and bring everybody else with us too.
- 1:24:56Right?
- 1:24:57So Yeah.
- 1:24:57Yeah, man.
- 1:24:58You got
- 1:24:58That's like that's like the importance of networking.
- 1:25:01I mean, we've actually got people that I brought to the show from TikTok because I can't
- 1:25:06sleep, so I scroll through TikTok.
- 1:25:08Yeah.
- 1:25:09We got a guy we met off there or I met off there and brought to the network, Dalton Jones.
- 1:25:13He's an amazing talented artist.
- 1:25:15And, like, now he's actually starting to send guests to us because, you know, I was actually
- 1:25:22fortunate enough to be able to use my connections through y'all the podcast and
- 1:25:29actually able to get his song on the radio station.
- 1:25:32Yeah.
- 1:25:32That's awesome.
- 1:25:33So it just goes to show that the connections that are formed, you know, are lifelong.
- 1:25:40It ain't just and that's what great about the podcast is you connect with people on such a
- 1:25:45real level that by the time that show's over and we talk, especially on mine yeah.
- 1:25:52I mean and I'm not putting theirs down, but mine, have some real hard conversations with
- 1:25:56because it's the title of it that I feel like and I'm sure Bubba Phil and Boo Boo feels the
- 1:26:01same way, but by the time you get done and you have these hard conversations, you feel like
- 1:26:07you know that person that was on the friends Yeah.
- 1:26:09We're
- 1:26:10now.
- 1:26:11You know what I mean?
- 1:26:11That that's and that's the beauty of it too because that's how it feels.
- 1:26:14Like, it feels like we're all friends now.
- 1:26:15Like, you know what I mean?
- 1:26:16Just from this because, I mean, how like, with society and stuff and the way people are
- 1:26:21nowadays, like, people don't really sit down and talk no more.
- 1:26:25Like, who's gonna sit down and really talk to somebody for an hour and a half that they don't
- 1:26:28know?
- 1:26:29Like, you know
- 1:26:29what Bobby, I'm talk I'm talking to you longer than I just meeting you than I have to some of
- 1:26:34my family members.
- 1:26:35Me too.
- 1:26:36Me too.
- 1:26:36I'm a talker, so I will talk for an hour and a half.
- 1:26:40Ask Bubba.
- 1:26:41Yeah.
- 1:26:42Ask anyone who knows you, Willie.
- 1:26:46No.
- 1:26:46And I kinda like listening to envy tonight where, you know, at the and it was great that
- 1:26:52it was at the end because when you finally came on with your verse at the end, it's like, oh,
- 1:26:57that's my boy.
- 1:26:58Right?
- 1:26:58And it's like, we just met.
- 1:27:00Yeah.
- 1:27:01But I feel, like, so, like, kindred spirit to that and a connection that we have now.
- 1:27:07And that's the beauty of, like, your podcast is because your podcast is real.
- 1:27:10Like, you know what mean?
- 1:27:11Y'all are on here, and y'all are being real people and genuine.
- 1:27:14Y'all doing this because this is what y'all love to do.
- 1:27:16You're doing it because you love to put out artists.
- 1:27:18You know?
- 1:27:18You're not on here trying to charge artists.
- 1:27:21You're not on here being fake.
- 1:27:23Because that's the thing with, like, the Internet and society is everybody's so fake.
- 1:27:26So so whenever you're reel, people gravitate to that because that's rare nowadays.
- 1:27:31A lot of people, they can't come on a podcast and have a conversation like this because
- 1:27:35there's either two whole two mini holes in their story, they're too fake, or they just
- 1:27:39they don't know how to they they act weird when a camera they see that little green light on
- 1:27:43the camera, they act all weird and just like I see it all the time on my on the radio.
- 1:27:47So, like, people come in, and they just act weird.
- 1:27:49I was just like, you gotta just be natural.
- 1:27:51Like, don't worry about the camera.
- 1:27:52Just act like we're having a conversation because that's what we are.
- 1:27:55You know?
- 1:27:55And I know you gotta go.
- 1:27:57You know?
- 1:27:57But It's all good, man.
- 1:27:58It's training, though, but, like, I didn't I had this camera for two years before I started
- 1:28:04sitting in front of it all the time.
- 1:28:06And then having someone like, you have to look at the camera because I would be looking up at
- 1:28:10you know, I'm looking at you, but you can't see me anyway.
- 1:28:13Right?
- 1:28:13And until someone told me that where I was like, oh, they're like, you gotta make love to
- 1:28:17that camera.
- 1:28:17Right?
- 1:28:18Like, you have to be staring and sensing and communicating.
- 1:28:21And but it took time, man.
- 1:28:22It took training, and that's why I'm glad that, like, we're here now.
- 1:28:26And we were we're not here a year ago because I wasn't ready a year ago.
- 1:28:30I wasn't ready for all of this.
- 1:28:32And Yeah.
- 1:28:32We weren't ready for hundreds of people to be tuning in every single week to see these
- 1:28:37things.
- 1:28:37You know?
- 1:28:37Even a few weeks ago, We've continued to get better with our production and everything that
- 1:28:42we're doing.
- 1:28:43And, you know, at least we didn't have any dogs barking in the background tonight at Pulu's
- 1:28:47place.
- 1:28:48I had I had to put my dog up.
- 1:28:49My dog's in the cage.
- 1:28:51I put her up because I was like, I don't want her acting all crazy.
- 1:28:53You know?
- 1:28:54Because I
- 1:28:54think As long as you don't shock her, like, on camera because she's a prop for you like this
- 1:28:59cat.
- 1:28:59I don't know if you tune into the news or not, but I saw this this Hassan guy who's a big
- 1:29:04streamer,
- 1:29:05and they're on him now because yeah.
- 1:29:07Well, he just has a dog in the background, like, five hour stream, and they caught him,
- 1:29:11like, shocking her with the shock collar because she got up and was moving around.
- 1:29:15I was like, you got mad at your dog because it's a dog?
- 1:29:17Like, Pete, you deserve the hate.
- 1:29:19You deserve the hate, dog.
- 1:29:21Come on.
- 1:29:22Is really demonized.
- 1:29:24Yeah.
- 1:29:24It's all
- 1:29:25good.
- 1:29:25Man, I just Bobby, it's been great getting to know you, man.
- 1:29:28Yeah.
- 1:29:28For sure.
- 1:29:29Boo boo, good to
- 1:29:30see you again.
- 1:29:31Yeah.
- 1:29:31Well, I'll see you on some Sundays.
- 1:29:33I'll be traveling this Sunday, and I and I probably won't be tapping in.
- 1:29:36But give me a few weeks, man.
- 1:29:37Get home from this tour and everything, and, hopefully, I get to stop in Saint Louis and see
- 1:29:41y'all, man.
- 1:29:42I'm I'm I'll be coming through on on the fifth or sixth headed up north.
- 1:29:46So, hopefully, I get a chance to come and say hello and
- 1:29:49You better come see me.
- 1:29:50Going on.
- 1:29:51Mhmm.
- 1:29:51And I'd love to be on y'all shoot on y'all shows too.
- 1:29:54I know that, Willie, you mentioned you had the mental health show and stuff, so I'd like to do
- 1:29:59that too, you know, because it's definitely something that I can relate to.
- 1:30:02You know what I mean?
- 1:30:03And I'd like to do your show too, boo boo.
