- 0:00Speaker 1: Woo!
- 0:01Speaker 2: Stu Gatz.
- 0:01Speaker 3: Woo!
- 0:02Speaker 4: I got to be honest with you, Bruce, there's a
- 0:03Speaker 4: good chance I'd be high anyway.
- 0:05Speaker 5: Woo!
- 0:05Speaker 2: And I'm wondering how the football weekend was. Were you
- 0:07Speaker 2: able to watch it? Wow, what happened?
- 0:09Speaker 4: Oh, I'm tired of him.
- 0:12Speaker 5: I'm serious.
- 0:13Speaker 2: How about that?
- 0:14Speaker 5: In company. We are mother shuckers, baby.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Woo!
- 0:17Speaker 1: Bruce, does Faison Brandon's name sound like it's on backwards?
- 0:20Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It's time to get your.
- 0:23Speaker 1: It's time to get your financials. To get the all boat.
- 0:28Speaker 2: You got nothing right there.
- 0:29Speaker 1: This is not going well.
- 0:31Speaker 5: This is Stu Gotts and Company. Stu, back to you.
- 0:36Speaker 4: It is Stu Gotts and Company presented by FanDuel and
- 0:38Speaker 4: the FanDuel Sportsbook. Mike Golick Sr. going to join us
- 0:42Speaker 4: in about 10, 15 minutes. We'll get to if the
- 0:44Speaker 4: season ended today in just a second. You guys into
- 0:47Speaker 4: the baseball at all with the Yankees out? Are you
- 0:49Speaker 4: guys into the baseball at all?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Are you watching it?
- 0:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm into it just because I'm rooting against the
- 0:54Speaker 1: Rays at this point because you're looking at the Tampa
- 0:56Speaker 1: Bay Rays and their fans are doing the, it's not us,
- 1:00Speaker 1: it's the stadium. It's tough to get to Tampa Bay.
- 1:03Speaker 1: And that's the reason why we had sold out attendances
- 1:06Speaker 1: against the Yankees and attendances are down 8,000 people since
- 1:12Speaker 1: they've gotten to the ALCS. Like through hell or high water,
- 1:16Speaker 1: Find a way to get to the ALCS. I don't
- 1:18Speaker 1: care if it takes you all day to get to
- 1:20Speaker 1: that stadium.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You have the best team in the American League.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Show up.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Yes, you would love to be there, and you would
- 1:24Speaker 4: do anything you could if the Yankees were there to
- 1:26Speaker 4: get to those games, right?
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:29Speaker 1: And it's like they're talking about, no, you don't understand.
- 1:32Speaker 1: The stadium's in St.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Pete.
- 1:33Speaker 1: There's a bridge you have to cross, and the bridge
- 1:36Speaker 1: gets gridlocked. I don't care about a bridge.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Go ahead, Mikey. I see you shaking your head.
- 1:45Speaker 6: Most of my family lives in Tampa. I've done that drive.
- 1:48Speaker 6: I've done it a thousand times.
- 1:49Speaker 5: Show up.
- 1:50Speaker 6: Sit in a little bit of traffic if you have to.
- 1:53Speaker 6: Your team is the number one team in the American League.
- 1:56Speaker 6: They're hosting the ALCS. You got a chance to go
- 1:59Speaker 6: to the World Series, and by most opinions, you're one
- 2:03Speaker 6: of the few teams that can challenge one of these
- 2:05Speaker 6: National League teams that look just far better, by the way.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But Show up.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yep, cross a bridge. I mean, how about that?
- 2:12Speaker 5: Cross a bridge.
- 2:13Speaker 4: I mean, seriously, in New York, when you drive from
- 2:16Speaker 4: Long Island to, what is it now, MetLife, you have
- 2:19Speaker 4: to go over a bridge. There are certain cities where
- 2:21Speaker 4: you just have to travel a little bit to go
- 2:23Speaker 4: see your favorite team.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I'm with you guys. Tampa, show up.
- 2:27Speaker 5: I will tell you this.
- 2:28Speaker 6: There is no easy way to get to Yankee stadium
- 2:31Speaker 6: from where I live.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:32Speaker 6: If the Yankees were playing, I would sit in whatever
- 2:34Speaker 6: traffic I have to pay, whatever absorbent amount of money
- 2:38Speaker 6: they're going to charge me to park and just deal
- 2:40Speaker 6: with it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: The only thing I'll say here is if, when Tampa
- 2:43Speaker 1: Bay gets their new stadium and they put it in Tampa,
- 2:46Speaker 1: if they are still having attendance issues after one year,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'm moving that team.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Wait, they're not going to have attendance issue issues once
- 2:55Speaker 4: they move or.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Move create a new stadium.
- 2:57Speaker 1: That's what they're saying right now, which is very convenient. Like, oh,
- 3:00Speaker 1: if you build us a new stadium, we'll be more
- 3:02Speaker 1: likely to go to the stadium. And I fully admit,
- 3:04Speaker 1: Tropicana's a dump. I probably wouldn't want to go there either.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But once you have the new stadium, your excuse just
- 3:10Speaker 1: went out the door.
- 3:11Speaker 4: You are right about that, but I will say this,
- 3:13Speaker 4: just going back to the old stadium for a second.
- 3:16Speaker 4: It's one thing to cross a bridge or Mikey sits
- 3:19Speaker 4: in traffic to get to Yankee Stadium, which is a
- 3:22Speaker 4: shrine to baseball, okay? It's another thing to wait two
- 3:25Speaker 4: hours to get to that dump. Because it is a dump.
- 3:28Speaker 4: It is the biggest dump in all of sports. No,
- 3:31Speaker 4: the team is great. The place they play in is
- 3:35Speaker 4: an absolute dump. And I'm not certain I would wait two,
- 3:38Speaker 4: two and a half hours to get myself to a
- 3:40Speaker 4: Rays game just to go and sit in that dump
- 3:43Speaker 4: when I could sit at home and watch on the couch.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Now I'm defending Rays fans.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Yeah, cry me a river and then build me a
- 3:48Speaker 1: bridge to get over it.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Put that on the poll. Ed Stugatz, 790 and X.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Cry me a river and build me a bridge to
- 3:57Speaker 4: go over it. Yes or no. Let's get to if
- 4:02Speaker 4: the season ended today. Good baseball talk, guys. If the
- 4:05Speaker 4: season ended today, give me the music. Thankfully, the season
- 4:13Speaker 4: doesn't end today. But man, it's been a great season.
- 4:16Speaker 5: It really has.
- 4:17Speaker 2: If it did end today, I think we could all say,
- 4:19Speaker 2: great season.
- 4:20Speaker 1: So I don't know if this has happened to you guys,
- 4:23Speaker 1: but I've almost been like Pavlov-dogged to this song that
- 4:27Speaker 1: when I hear it now on Sundays, My mind is
- 4:30Speaker 1: just conditioned to start giving takes and everybody's looking at me.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I hear this take start and I'm like, man, I'm
- 4:36Speaker 1: really worried about the Rams starting two and three. And
- 4:37Speaker 1: they're like, why are you just firing off takes right now?
- 4:40Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I think it's because when I hear
- 4:41Speaker 1: this music, I have to just flip my brain to
- 4:43Speaker 1: be like, it's time to perform.
- 4:46Speaker 6: My eyes glass over and I just start spewing takes.
- 4:50Speaker 2: You do Taylor's tears. I do it too.
- 4:58Speaker 6: If the magic starts, I go, hey, guys, if the
- 5:00Speaker 6: season ended today, the Titans have the number one pick.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:02Speaker 4: I mean, in fairness to me, I was doing it
- 5:04Speaker 4: well before I had the music. I just walk around,
- 5:08Speaker 4: give it takes. All right, Mikey, let's get to it.
- 5:10Speaker 4: If the season ended today, very exciting here.
- 5:15Speaker 6: The AFC is fun. The NFC, woof, I can't wait
- 5:19Speaker 6: to get to it. All right, but we're going to
- 5:20Speaker 6: start in the AFC.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:22Speaker 6: If the season ended today, surprise, surprise, the Kansas City
- 5:25Speaker 6: Chiefs have the bye.
- 5:26Speaker 5: They're the one seed.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:28Speaker 5: We knew that. The first matchup.
- 5:32Speaker 6: The Las Vegas Raiders are traveling to.
- 5:37Speaker 5: The Baltimore Ravens.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Is Lamar healthy yet?
- 5:42Speaker 1: He's expected to play this week, I believe.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Really?
- 5:45Speaker 5: Yep.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Would you play him? Huntley looked good.
- 5:51Speaker 1: It's an AFC North game against the Browns. He's got
- 5:54Speaker 1: to play tomorrow. They say realistic chance to return week
- 5:57Speaker 1: six versus the Browns.
- 5:57Speaker 2: All right, so we have Raiders at Ravens.
- 6:00Speaker 4: That would be exciting, the Raiders getting into the playoffs.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I don't know how many people expected that. Yes, go ahead.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You know what this game is, though?
- 6:07Speaker 4: What?
- 6:08Speaker 1: This is the Max Crosby revenge game.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Oh, that's right. Wow, what a game. What a matchup.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Is Kirk Cousins still playing quarterback for the Raiders, do
- 6:14Speaker 4: we think? I think if they make it to the playoffs,
- 6:16Speaker 4: it's a fair assumption that Kirk Cousins has started every
- 6:19Speaker 4: game for the Raiders, right?
- 6:21Speaker 1: So I think I'm picking the Raiders to win this
- 6:23Speaker 1: game just because of that Max Crosby factor where the
- 6:26Speaker 1: Ravens embarrassed Max Crosby saying, your knee isn't healthy enough
- 6:30Speaker 1: to play for our team. And then Max Crosby, what
- 6:32Speaker 1: does he do? He gets the Raiders to the playoffs?
- 6:34Speaker 5: Yes.
- 6:34Speaker 1: That Raiders team is beating Baltimore.
- 6:36Speaker 4: And you have Max Crosby with, like, five sacks, revenge games.
- 6:39Speaker 5: Yes.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Max Crosby would put Lamar Jackson's head
- 6:42Speaker 1: on a stake.
- 6:45Speaker 6: The problem with that is then all they do is
- 6:47Speaker 6: bring in Snoop Hundley and win the game.
- 6:48Speaker 2: That's right. Second half.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Yes.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Second half Snoop. I would take the Ravens in that game.
- 6:55Speaker 4: I understand what you're saying about Max Crosby, and it
- 6:58Speaker 4: is a revenge game, and it is a.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Very appetizing first-round matchup. I have to be honest with you.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I'd like to see it, but I think the Ravens
- 7:05Speaker 2: are just too good.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Playoff Lamar, give me the Raiders. All right.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Your next matchup, the Denver Broncos are on the road
- 7:15Speaker 6: to the 40,000-seat arena in Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Wow, wow, wow, wow.
- 7:26Speaker 4: I'm just thinking about the game. I'm thinking about Trevor Lawrence.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I'm thinking about if Trevor Lawrence finally wins a playoff game.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Sean Payton, Bo Nix is really bad. I don't know
- 7:34Speaker 4: why I'm just doing it like this. I'm just talking
- 7:36Speaker 4: it out.
- 7:37Speaker 5: Just talking it out.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Listen, Mikey, you're going to hate this, right? We've been
- 7:41Speaker 4: on the Jaguars. And by the way, our friend Tony
- 7:44Speaker 4: Buscelli will join us next week. I'm excited about that.
- 7:48Speaker 4: He went all corporate on us. He runs the Jaguars.
- 7:51Speaker 4: But that team is really good, and that quarterback is good, Mike.
- 7:55Speaker 4: And the only reason I'm speaking to you is we've
- 7:58Speaker 4: been bashing that quarterback for almost a decade. But, man,
- 8:02Speaker 4: he is good, and Bo Nix is not. So I
- 8:05Speaker 4: think the Jaguars win that game. I think they steamroll
- 8:07Speaker 4: the Broncos at home.
- 8:08Speaker 2: How about that?
- 8:09Speaker 1: So this is a week two rematch that the Broncos
- 8:11Speaker 1: won 20-13. And, Stu, you know what they say.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 1: It's hard to beat a team twice.
- 8:16Speaker 2: It really is.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I'm going Jaguars.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Revenge game, yes.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I am not off the Bo Nix train. I think
- 8:23Speaker 1: Denver goes. I wanted to be clear. I've never been
- 8:26Speaker 1: on the bone X train.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Wow.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Wouldn't even buy it. I wouldn't even buy a ticket.
- 8:30Speaker 5: If it was free.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Right.
- 8:32Speaker 2: So no need to get all for you. Right.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Never even considered getting on that station.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Yep. All right.
- 8:39Speaker 5: All right. Oh, music stopped for a second. I needed
- 8:43Speaker 5: a second.
- 8:44Speaker 4: All right.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Last game.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:46Speaker 5: It's an AFC East matchup. The Patriots on the road.
- 8:51Speaker 5: In Buffalo in January.
- 8:53Speaker 2: That is special.
- 8:56Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Drake May has played so good the last two games.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Josh Allen.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Mikey's going to hate this as well because I'm a
- 9:06Speaker 4: Jet fan. I want to see Josh Allen win a
- 9:09Speaker 4: Super Bowl.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I do. No, I want to see him win a
- 9:12Speaker 2: Super Bowl.
- 9:13Speaker 4: I like Josh Allen. I love his talent. Always nice
- 9:18Speaker 4: to me when he sees me out in Tahoe. He's
- 9:21Speaker 4: just a nice guy. I want Josh Allen to win.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 9:25Speaker 4: It's a good question. I'll do better next year. But
- 9:29Speaker 4: Josh Allen, I want to see him win a Super Bowl.
- 9:31Speaker 4: So I'm not saying the Patriots can't win this game,
- 9:35Speaker 4: but I'm doing this with my heart and not my
- 9:37Speaker 4: head here. I think the Bills win that game and
- 9:40Speaker 4: move on.
- 9:41Speaker 1: So Drake May and Mike Vrabel together are 2-0 on
- 9:45Speaker 1: the road in Buffalo. This might be a case where
- 9:48Speaker 1: they just have their number when they go to that stadium.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Or it might be a case that they're due.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Old stadium, new stadium. It might not matter for Drake May.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I love this Patriot team as long as Drake May
- 9:58Speaker 1: doesn't turn the ball over. these are two quarterbacks where
- 10:00Speaker 1: it's like man if they just don't turn the ball
- 10:02Speaker 1: over and beat themselves you could talk your way into
- 10:05Speaker 1: them being in the mvp conversation pretty easily yes i'm
- 10:10Speaker 1: going patriots i think i just picked all three.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Road teams You did, which is unlikely to happen.
- 10:14Speaker 5: Oh, no, I had the Jaguars. No, you picked Jaguars.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you had the Jaguars, yes.
- 10:17Speaker 1: You kind of just assumed the Jaguars are the lower-seeded
- 10:19Speaker 1: team every time, though.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Right, well, fair.
- 10:21Speaker 5: It just feels like a road game.
- 10:23Speaker 2: It's not much of a home-field advantage. They'd rather play
- 10:25Speaker 2: it in London, I think.
- 10:26Speaker 5: Yes.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Put it on the poll. Would the Jags rather play?
- 10:30Speaker 4: They're playing there for a second consecutive week this week,
- 10:32Speaker 4: but if the season ended today, would the Jags prefer
- 10:35Speaker 4: playing their games, their playoff games, in London or Jacksonville?
- 10:41Speaker 2: It's a good question. It really is. All right, Mike.
- 10:45Speaker 6: I think Buffalo wins that game because Buffalo doesn't lose
- 10:48Speaker 6: in the first round of the playoffs.
- 10:49Speaker 5: They lose in the next round.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Can we go on to the next round just as, like,
- 10:55Speaker 2: what if Buffalo won? Okay, you're going to do that.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Oh, no.
- 10:58Speaker 5: If Buffalo won, you're assuming all the home teams win?
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yes. Now we have, like, all different matchups.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 1: So it's more confusing. This is why I think we've
- 11:08Speaker 1: never gone past.
- 11:09Speaker 6: Buffalo would play Kansas City.
- 11:11Speaker 2: We've never gone this far. Let's just assume. Okay. You're right, Taylor.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Are we going with your picks?
- 11:16Speaker 2: We've never left the wild card round. What was the
- 11:18Speaker 2: first game?
- 11:21Speaker 5: Raiders at Ravens. All right.
- 11:22Speaker 2: So the Ravens win that game.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Okay.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yes, we're going with my picks. What's the next game?
- 11:28Speaker 5: Denver at Jacksonville.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Jacksonville wins that game and Buffalo wins their games. What's next?
- 11:33Speaker 5: So all the home teams.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 11:35Speaker 5: Okay. then Buffalo would go to Kansas City.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Oh, wow. We want all home teams to win that week, right?
- 11:44Speaker 4: If the season ended today.
- 11:48Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, if not, if another team would have won,
- 11:52Speaker 6: then Buffalo would go to Baltimore. And then it's a matchup.
- 11:57Speaker 6: It's the matchup of the two quarterbacks that can't win.
- 12:00Speaker 5: In the playoffs.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Right, for the right to play Mahomes to go to
- 12:02Speaker 4: the Super Bowl. In all likelihood, yes. But if the
- 12:08Speaker 4: Bills went to the Chiefs, I'd be happy. It means
- 12:10Speaker 4: we get that game.
- 12:11Speaker 5: It's guaranteed.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I would take the Bills to win that game.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I would.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Josh Allen. All right. Yes. I just wanted to go
- 12:19Speaker 2: one round further. Yeah, we can go to the NFC. Sorry.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Sorry for the detour there.
- 12:23Speaker 3: All right.
- 12:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 2: All right.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Your number one seed in the NFC, San Francisco 49ers.
- 12:29Speaker 6: Yep. put together with duct tape and hopes and dreams.
- 12:34Speaker 1: They need the buy.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Yes, they do. Yes, get healthy.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Get healthy. All right, your first matchup.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Exciting.
- 12:46Speaker 5: The Detroit Lions are on the road at Minnesota.
- 12:51Speaker 6: Wow.
- 12:53Speaker 5: A team with all defense and a team with no defense.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Right. But the Vikings have the league MVP in Brian Flores.
- 13:06Speaker 1: This feels like a matchup where if you could have
- 13:08Speaker 1: asked the Lions, what offense do you want to play
- 13:10Speaker 1: with how bad your defense is, they would race to
- 13:13Speaker 1: turn in the card to select the Minnesota Vikings, though.
- 13:16Speaker 1: That's why I would pick the Lions.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I would take the Lions as well. I'm with Taylor
- 13:20Speaker 2: on that. I would. All right.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Your next matchup.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:26Speaker 6: The Chicago Bears... are on the road at the New
- 13:32Speaker 6: York Giants.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Wow. Caleb Williams. Wow is right. Yes. Jameis Winston. Wow.
- 13:41Speaker 4: John Harbaugh's first season as Giants head coach. Gets to
- 13:44Speaker 4: the playoffs and has a home game. Hosted a home game.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Man. Taylor, who do you like there?
- 13:51Speaker 1: I've got Bears minus eight and a half in this one.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I don't think the Giants would. Giants don't even show
- 13:56Speaker 1: up to this matchup.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Well, they'll show up. Wow.
- 13:59Speaker 1: No, I'm telling the Giants don't show up. Okay, well,
- 14:01Speaker 1: I guess Caleb's going to rip their hearts out. Caleb
- 14:03Speaker 1: Williams will run you out of the building.
- 14:05Speaker 2: John Harbaugh. I like the Bears as well. All right.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Next game, Mikey. All right.
- 14:09Speaker 5: Your last game.
- 14:12Speaker 6: The Green Bay Packers are on the road at the
- 14:15Speaker 6: Carolina Panthers.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 14:18Speaker 5: Lafeu.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 14:22Speaker 6: While you guys ponder that over, let me just give
- 14:24Speaker 6: you two little tidbits.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Okay. I love tidbits.
- 14:27Speaker 6: No Seattle or the Rams in the playoffs in the
- 14:31Speaker 6: NFC picture right now.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Crazy. And all four teams in the NFC North made
- 14:38Speaker 5: the playoffs.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Wow.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Wow. Wow. My mind has been blown.
- 14:45Speaker 5: Yes.
- 14:45Speaker 2: How....
- 14:53Speaker 4: No Rams, no Seahawks. That's how the football's played. McVay,
- 14:59Speaker 4: I'm tired of him.
- 15:01Speaker 5: Packers at Panthers, who you got?
- 15:03Speaker 2: I'm thinking here.
- 15:03Speaker 4: I mean, my head says Packers, my heart says Panthers
- 15:06Speaker 4: because I love the Panthers and I love Bryce Young
- 15:08Speaker 4: and I love that team and I love the roller
- 15:09Speaker 4: coaster that they take you on every single Sunday that
- 15:13Speaker 4: they play football.
- 15:15Speaker 2: They're exciting. I'm going to say Carolina wins that game
- 15:18Speaker 2: at home.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I am all over this Carolina Panthers team. We have
- 15:23Speaker 1: had people reach out and say, Taylor Stugatz, thank you
- 15:26Speaker 1: for championing for Bryce Young and this Carolina Panthers team.
- 15:30Speaker 5: Have we?
- 15:30Speaker 1: So you think I'm going to turn my back on
- 15:32Speaker 1: the Queen City now? Once we start getting a little
- 15:34Speaker 1: praise from them, I'm all over this Panthers team.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Who has reached out to you regarding us supporting the Panthers?
- 15:42Speaker 1: People on social media have said, thank you for supporting
- 15:44Speaker 1: the Panthers. Nobody else wants to talk about how good
- 15:47Speaker 1: Bryce Young and this Panthers team might be with Dave Canales.
- 15:50Speaker 1: So you are welcome for giving you guys a platform.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Ted McMillan is our wide receiver one. I love this team.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I might adopt the Panthers as my NFC team. I might.
- 16:00Speaker 1: We're huge in Charlotte.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I'm thinking about it. I know we are.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I'm telling you, we are huge in Charlotte.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Charlotte, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill. We dominate there. We do.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Hold on a second. Don't they have some big drum
- 16:10Speaker 5: they play? What do you think? What do you think, Panthers?
- 16:13Speaker 2: Keep pounding.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Keep pounding.
- 16:15Speaker 5: We can go pound that drum.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Sideline passes.
- 16:19Speaker 2: You want to get someone from Carolina on so we
- 16:21Speaker 2: can have that discussion?
- 16:22Speaker 1: Okay. Stu Gox would like to pound the drum.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Get me Canales.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Listen, we make a lot of empty promises saying we'll
- 16:31Speaker 1: go places.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:33Speaker 5: No, that's I will go.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 16:35Speaker 5: I will go. Yes.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Mikey, 1,000%. If the Carolina Panthers can commit to us,
- 16:40Speaker 1: Stu Gatz gets to go to a game and pound
- 16:43Speaker 1: the drum and do the keep pounding.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I'm in.
- 16:45Speaker 2: We're in.
- 16:46Speaker 1: First plane to Charlotte Airport.
- 16:49Speaker 2: That's a quick flight.
- 16:50Speaker 5: It really is.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I'm down with that. I'm good with that. It's a
- 16:52Speaker 2: hub for somebody, right? Bryce Young likes me. We know that. Yes.
- 16:55Speaker 1: American Airlines might be the hub of Charlotte.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Don't care. I'll get there.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Underrated airport.
- 17:02Speaker 2: It is. Nice little airport.
- 17:05Speaker 1: It's always good for a layover, like that Bojangles there.
- 17:09Speaker 1: My only complaint is sometimes the gates are too far walking,
- 17:11Speaker 1: where I land in, like, Terminal A, and I'm connecting
- 17:15Speaker 1: flights in Terminal B, and I'm looking on the map,
- 17:17Speaker 1: and it's like, 40-minute walk.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah. 40-minute walk.
- 17:21Speaker 1: How is that possible?
- 17:23Speaker 2: They don't have those in New York.
- 17:24Speaker 1: This airport's, like, less than half a mile.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Speaking of obligations.
- 17:30Speaker 5: Spread across three states.
- 17:31Speaker 6: Yes.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Speaking of games we're invited to, we have been invited
- 17:37Speaker 4: as a show.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Music. Thank you.
- 17:42Speaker 4: To do our show live from Army Navy. And I
- 17:47Speaker 4: need to give them an answer by Friday. No one
- 17:52Speaker 4: loves the troops like me and Mikey A.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Whoa.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I left Taylor out. I'm sorry. Yes. Thank you for
- 17:58Speaker 2: your service. My bad.
- 18:00Speaker 4: We need to make a decision by this Friday. What
- 18:02Speaker 4: are you guys thinking here? I don't know where the
- 18:03Speaker 4: game is.
- 18:04Speaker 2: MetLife.
- 18:04Speaker 1: So I'm in for the sole fact I grew up
- 18:07Speaker 1: probably 20 minutes from West Point. And my experience in
- 18:11Speaker 1: college football, my introduction to college football, was just going
- 18:14Speaker 1: to Army games when I was a kid. And I
- 18:17Speaker 1: was probably like five or six going to Army games
- 18:19Speaker 1: every weekend. And I grew up thinking Army football was
- 18:24Speaker 1: Alabama football. Like I didn't know any different. And then
- 18:27Speaker 1: eventually I got to like the age of eight or
- 18:29Speaker 1: nine and I'm like, This team's three and nine every year.
- 18:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Mikey in Army Navy deserves a better. I mean, seriously,
- 18:36Speaker 4: a better venue than MetLife.
- 18:38Speaker 2: What are we doing? Respect the troops. I mean, seriously,
- 18:41Speaker 2: sending that dump.
- 18:42Speaker 1: But that's a cold weather game.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Very happy to go.
- 18:45Speaker 6: But I got to get I got to get a
- 18:46Speaker 6: flight from Connecticut to Jersey.
- 18:48Speaker 2: That's a bad drive. You're going to watch people who
- 18:56Speaker 2: go to war for us. If indeed we need them
- 18:58Speaker 2: to do so. And you don't want to drive?
- 19:00Speaker 1: T-Y-F-Y-S.
- 19:03Speaker 5: And they're going to war so that I can take
- 19:06Speaker 5: that flight. For my right.
- 19:08Speaker 2: To take that flight. For your right to be lazy.
- 19:13Speaker 2: You just told people to cross a bridge. All right.
- 19:20Speaker 2: So we're in. We're doing this. I have to tell
- 19:21Speaker 2: them by Friday. I'm in.
- 19:23Speaker 1: You can count me in.
- 19:23Speaker 2: All right. Army, Navy, here we come. Mike Golick coming
- 19:26Speaker 2: up next. Stugatz here.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Welcome to your most rewarding season ever, only on FanDuel.
- 19:33Speaker 4: How rewarding are we talking? More rewarding than a touchdown
- 19:36Speaker 4: with time expiring? More rewarding than an 18-point comeback? Maybe
- 19:41Speaker 4: even more rewarding than an O-lineman catching a touchdown.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I mean, come on.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Everyone loves a big man touchdown. And this NFL season?
- 19:50Speaker 4: that feeling doesn't stop on the field. Look out for

- 21:03Speaker 4: Mikey A, I am one hour removed from hearing Mike
- 21:06Speaker 4: Golick Sr. on his ESPN radio show, 10 to noon
- 21:09Speaker 4: Eastern every single day. He said, and I laughed out loud,
- 21:13Speaker 4: pass the Dutchie. And go Joe, let him have it.
- 21:21Speaker 4: Explain yourself, Mike Golick.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Well, it was one of the fines and suspensions that
- 21:28Speaker 3: has gone out in the NFL. Jamison Williams from Detroit
- 21:33Speaker 3: did a celebration where it was like he was smoking,
- 21:37Speaker 3: you know, a joint and.
- 21:39Speaker 5: Passing it to his teammates.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Yes.
- 21:40Speaker 3: And the teammates and Jamison got suspended.
- 21:43Speaker 5: It got rescinded.
- 21:45Speaker 3: But his teammates also got fined, which I'm sure that
- 21:48Speaker 3: got rescinded as well. Jamison Williams' reply was, smoking marijuana
- 21:53Speaker 3: is legal in some states. What's wrong with that?
- 21:56Speaker 2: That's what I said, yes.
- 21:58Speaker 3: It's kind of the Kyle Juszczyk when he got fined,
- 22:02Speaker 3: not suspended, but fined because he acted like he was
- 22:06Speaker 3: drinking a beer when he was like, my nickname's Juice.
- 22:10Speaker 5: But even if it.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Was a beer, I would say the same thing. Beer's
- 22:14Speaker 2: legal to drink if you're of legal age.
- 22:17Speaker 3: I mean, what do we do in NFL? I mean,
- 22:19Speaker 3: you can't sit there and worry that every little celebration
- 22:22Speaker 3: is going to go, uh-oh, what if a 10-year-old sees this?
- 22:26Speaker 5: I mean, come on. It's crazy.
- 22:28Speaker 2: So, yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 5: So I said, yeah.
- 22:31Speaker 3: I said he got nailed for passing the duchy on
- 22:33Speaker 3: the left-hand side, which is a song back a few years.
- 22:38Speaker 3: And Mike and Devin and Bubba ripped me. I'm like,
- 22:41Speaker 3: wait a minute, man. That's old school.
- 22:43Speaker 5: What's wrong with that?
- 22:44Speaker 2: Not a few years, a few decades, Mike. That was
- 22:46Speaker 2: the problem. I laughed. I enjoyed it.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yes.
- 22:49Speaker 6: Yes.
- 22:49Speaker 5: I bet you did.
- 22:50Speaker 6: They did that at the sock hop.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 2: I mean, come on.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Everything old isn't bad, right?
- 22:58Speaker 2: Yes, yes. I mean, we're old. We're not bad. I mean,
- 23:01Speaker 2: I am, but maybe. I mean, they were like.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Oh, next thing you're going to say, take a toke?
- 23:05Speaker 2: Yeah, take a toke. I mean, yeah, sure.
- 23:09Speaker 5: We all know what I'm talking about.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Yeah, smoke the ganja. Yeah. I mean, what does it
- 23:16Speaker 2: kid say today? I don't know. I don't know. I
- 23:19Speaker 2: have no idea.
- 23:20Speaker 6: Yep. Mike, I want to talk about football. I want
- 23:23Speaker 6: to talk about the NFL. I want to talk about
- 23:25Speaker 6: Notre Dame. I want to talk about all that stuff.
- 23:26Speaker 6: But there's this little splinter in the back of my brain.
- 23:30Speaker 6: I usually you're not set up like this. And I
- 23:32Speaker 6: see all of these switches behind you on the wall.
- 23:36Speaker 6: And I am just convinced you have no idea what
- 23:39Speaker 6: any of them did.
- 23:40Speaker 2: None.
- 23:41Speaker 5: None. I imagine you walk into the room and flip
- 23:44Speaker 5: all of them.
- 23:45Speaker 3: I flip them all on and then I turn off
- 23:48Speaker 3: the ones and I see what turns off. But you
- 23:51Speaker 3: do it every time. Oh, every single time. I don't remember.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Yes.
- 23:55Speaker 6: No.
- 23:55Speaker 3: That's exactly right. I mean, sometimes houses get too cute
- 24:00Speaker 3: with the amount of switches and the amount of things
- 24:01Speaker 3: you can control.
- 24:02Speaker 5: You're right. I'm a kiss person. I'm a keep it simple,
- 24:05Speaker 5: stupid person.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Mike, if you have to pie chart the blame of
- 24:11Speaker 4: what happened to Washington at the end of that game,
- 24:14Speaker 4: how much goes to Dan Quinn?
- 24:15Speaker 2: How much goes to Jaden Daniels?
- 24:18Speaker 3: So, again, it all depends on did Dan Quinn throw
- 24:22Speaker 3: David Blah in there?
- 24:24Speaker 6: Sure.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Because he's the one on the microphone, on the headset,
- 24:28Speaker 3: to Jaden Daniels, not Dan Quinn. So there's blame to
- 24:33Speaker 3: be shared for all three. But I'll say this. If
- 24:37Speaker 3: Dan Quinn, in fact, and the presser he said after, listen,
- 24:40Speaker 3: it was either a throw it out of bounds or
- 24:42Speaker 3: clock it, If that's what was relayed to David Blah,
- 24:46Speaker 3: and David Blah relayed that to Jaden Daniels, who the
- 24:49Speaker 3: hell do we think it's on? Jaden Daniels isn't a
- 24:51Speaker 3: rookie quarterback. If Jaden Daniels was told the parameters, and
- 24:56Speaker 3: that's what I don't know because we're getting all general
- 24:59Speaker 3: responses out of them that we have to do the
- 25:02Speaker 3: right thing, know the situation.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Blah, blah, blah. We know that.
- 25:06Speaker 3: But at the end of the day, what was told
- 25:09Speaker 3: to Jaden Daniels? Was it throw it out of bounds?
- 25:13Speaker 5: Or clock it.
- 25:15Speaker 3: If that's the last thing that was in his ear,
- 25:18Speaker 3: then you've got to say it's on Jaden Daniels, right?
- 25:21Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:23Speaker 5: It'll go on all of them. But at the end
- 25:25Speaker 5: of the day.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels isn't a rookie.
- 25:27Speaker 2: You know what?
- 25:28Speaker 5: You've got to kind of know.
- 25:29Speaker 3: And these situations are worked on in practice. You've got
- 25:33Speaker 3: to kind of know what's going on.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Right. It just seemed like Jaden Daniels had no idea.
- 25:36Speaker 4: He didn't know if they had a timeout. He just
- 25:38Speaker 4: didn't know. And it was so odd to see from
- 25:40Speaker 4: such a talented quarterback, you know?
- 25:42Speaker 5: It really was.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Because then him not knowing, you wondered what was communicated
- 25:47Speaker 3: to him. And then I'm sure there's even, why does
- 25:51Speaker 3: it need to be communicated to him?
- 25:53Speaker 2: He should know.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Well, it's a world of communication. You're going to cover
- 25:57Speaker 3: all your bases and you're going to communicate every situation.
- 26:01Speaker 3: So that's what I want to know. What was the
- 26:04Speaker 3: last thing told to Jaden Daniels' ears?
- 26:07Speaker 1: Mike, I don't know him from an X's and O's perspective,
- 26:10Speaker 1: but would you agree that you wouldn't want an offensive
- 26:12Speaker 1: coordinator named David Blah.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Blah, blah, blah.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Leave it to you, Taylor. Leave it to you.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Leave it to you.
- 26:22Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 26:23Speaker 2: You don't need to answer.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I'd disqualify him from name alone.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Mike, what did you make of the Rams cutting their
- 26:29Speaker 4: kicker after that loss to Buffalo?
- 26:31Speaker 2: I thought it was laughable.
- 26:33Speaker 4: Listen, McVay, I mean, anything, if they should have cut anything,
- 26:36Speaker 4: it should have been his testicles for not going for
- 26:38Speaker 4: two towards the end of the game.
- 26:39Speaker 2: How about that?
- 26:41Speaker 3: Well, also, there was a third and five on the
- 26:46Speaker 3: 30-yard line before they had the field goal blocked. And
- 26:49Speaker 3: he just ran it off tackle. He ran kind of
- 26:51Speaker 3: a safe play.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Instead of maybe thinking he should have run it a little,
- 26:56Speaker 3: you know, been a little more aggressive there. But the kicker, Mavis,
- 27:01Speaker 3: was five and nine. I mean, for the season. So
- 27:03Speaker 3: this was just the latest kick. And the block wasn't
- 27:06Speaker 3: his fault. But he missed a field goal earlier in
- 27:09Speaker 3: the game.
- 27:09Speaker 5: He's 5-9.
- 27:11Speaker 3: That's a horrible percentage for a kicker. So, I mean,
- 27:15Speaker 3: and listen, it was after a game last year that
- 27:19Speaker 3: McVay fired his special teams coach.
- 27:22Speaker 5: So.
- 27:23Speaker 3: they're offensively and defensively they're okay but special teams it's
- 27:28Speaker 3: certainly been a bit of a bugaboo for them.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Yeah mike landman from the rams as somebody who played
- 27:33Speaker 1: in the nfl for for almost a decade are you
- 27:35Speaker 1: amazed at the precision that some of these players could
- 27:38Speaker 1: punch out balls.
- 27:39Speaker 3: It's stunning to me now when i played it was
- 27:42Speaker 3: first guy wrap up the ball carrier and stop his
- 27:45Speaker 3: momentum And then the next players that go in there
- 27:48Speaker 3: try and rip the ball out. Now, Landman, both those times,
- 27:53Speaker 3: was the initial tackler. If he doesn't punch the ball out,
- 27:57Speaker 3: he misses the tackle.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Because it's very.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Difficult to punch the ball out and tackle the ball
- 28:02Speaker 3: carrier at the same time.
- 28:04Speaker 5: It's unbelievable, his precision.
- 28:07Speaker 3: I mean, because, man, I would think if you miss,
- 28:09Speaker 3: you could break your wrist if you hit a solid
- 28:12Speaker 3: body part. And now Joe Brady said, You know, James Cook,
- 28:16Speaker 3: there has to be consequences when he's fumbled a lot.
- 28:20Speaker 3: I think 11 times in the last couple of years,
- 28:22Speaker 3: way more than anybody else. There has to be consequences
- 28:26Speaker 3: for that. But I mean, are you not having James
- 28:29Speaker 3: Cook on the field? I mean, he's a leading rusher
- 28:31Speaker 3: in the league last year. That would be a heck
- 28:34Speaker 3: of a step to take.
- 28:35Speaker 4: Mike, have we ever seen anything like Josh Allen in
- 28:38Speaker 4: the history of the NFL?
- 28:41Speaker 5: It's unbelievable.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I mean, it accounted for 331 yards.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Yep.
- 28:47Speaker 3: 210 pass and 121 rushing. He just, he puts the
- 28:52Speaker 3: defense in conflict. He did it a couple times where
- 28:54Speaker 3: he rolled out, he got out of the pressure, and
- 28:57Speaker 3: the defender had to make a choice. Do I continue
- 29:00Speaker 3: to cover the receiver or the back out of the backfield,
- 29:04Speaker 3: or do I come up and I try and stop Josh?
- 29:06Speaker 3: And that's all Josh is waiting for. You know, you
- 29:09Speaker 3: come up to stop Josh. He dumps it over to
- 29:10Speaker 3: the defender's head. Defender stays on the receiver. Josh runs
- 29:13Speaker 3: the ball. He is clearly the most dangerous quarterback in
- 29:17Speaker 3: the league. And I say this because I see it
- 29:22Speaker 3: so much in the NFL now of quarterbacks escaping the pocket.
- 29:26Speaker 3: It was always such a rule, keep them in the pocket. Now,
- 29:30Speaker 3: that doesn't mean sometimes there's room to step up and out.
- 29:33Speaker 3: And also, Josh Allen is big, and he can shrug tacklers.
- 29:36Speaker 3: But my God, just don't give him the edge so
- 29:39Speaker 3: easily at times.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Well, sometimes they try to prevent him from getting the edge,
- 29:42Speaker 4: and he still gets the edge because he's that good
- 29:44Speaker 4: of an athlete.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 5: Yes. He is incredible.
- 29:47Speaker 3: He is incredible.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Are you buying the Vikings here, Mike?
- 29:51Speaker 3: Well, I'm buying their defense for sure. And, I mean, listen,
- 29:55Speaker 3: Kyler Murray back helped, but what really helped is Justin
- 29:59Speaker 3: Jefferson back. I mean, getting one of the top tier
- 30:02Speaker 3: receivers in the league back on your offense is huge.
- 30:06Speaker 3: So Kyler just has to be like a point guard
- 30:09Speaker 3: and get it to the receivers there and let them
- 30:12Speaker 3: do their thing and let Brian Flores and that aggressive
- 30:15Speaker 3: defense do their thing. So yeah, I'm buying into them.
- 30:18Speaker 4: I think what's happening with the Raiders is interesting because
- 30:21Speaker 4: they're still alive.
- 30:22Speaker 2: They're still in it.
- 30:23Speaker 4: They're still having a decent season above expectations, but We
- 30:26Speaker 4: did see Mendoza towards the end of that Patriot game.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Do you think it's time for Mendoza or do they
- 30:31Speaker 2: stay with Cousins? You stay with Cousins.
- 30:33Speaker 3: No, absolutely not. That would be disrespectful is the wrong word.
- 30:39Speaker 3: I mean, what would that say to the rest of
- 30:41Speaker 3: the team?
- 30:42Speaker 5: Right. You're three and two.
- 30:44Speaker 3: I mean, there's one lost teams winning three divisions and
- 30:47Speaker 3: then an undefeated Chiefs team. And then everybody else is
- 30:50Speaker 3: three and two who is in the playoff hunt right now.
- 30:54Speaker 3: What the hell would that say to the team that
- 30:56Speaker 3: we're going to put a rookie in now? I mean,
- 30:59Speaker 3: Cousins has 12 touchdowns, only four interceptions, completing about 65%
- 31:03Speaker 3: of his passes. Played great. You got to think of
- 31:06Speaker 3: the rest of the team. You got plenty of time
- 31:08Speaker 3: for Fernando Mendoza. Now you stay with Cousins.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Mike, I thought the more impressive thing in that matchup
- 31:14Speaker 1: was the Patriots, and just when Drake May's playing like that,
- 31:18Speaker 1: this Patriot team doesn't really look like they have too
- 31:20Speaker 1: many weaknesses. Do you think if Drake May cuts out
- 31:24Speaker 1: the turnovers that the Patriots are the team to beat
- 31:26Speaker 1: in the AFC?
- 31:27Speaker 3: No, I think you still have the Bills, you still
- 31:30Speaker 3: have the Chiefs, maybe Baltimore, depending on if Lamar Jackson
- 31:34Speaker 3: can be a running threat again. Doesn't have to run
- 31:37Speaker 3: a lot, but just to be a threat.
- 31:40Speaker 5: They're with that.
- 31:41Speaker 3: As long as That offense gets consistent with the turnovers.
- 31:44Speaker 3: They're one of the teams. To me, they wouldn't be
- 31:47Speaker 3: the favorite if he cuts the turnovers out. Right now,
- 31:50Speaker 3: they're just inconsistent. They have to get consistency and knock
- 31:53Speaker 3: off the turnovers.
- 31:54Speaker 6: Mike, Seattle and San Francisco was the game of the
- 31:58Speaker 6: week until Monday night, and then they got replaced. How
- 32:04Speaker 6: long can San Francisco keep winning despite all the injuries
- 32:08Speaker 6: they're having?
- 32:09Speaker 2: It's stunning.
- 32:10Speaker 3: I mean, Kyle Shanahan's got to be the coach of
- 32:13Speaker 3: the year with what he's holding together with duct tape
- 32:15Speaker 3: and chicken wire.
- 32:16Speaker 5: I mean, it's absolutely incredible.
- 32:19Speaker 3: That's why no other team can use the excuse that
- 32:22Speaker 3: they have injuries because nobody has more injuries than San Francisco. Now,
- 32:28Speaker 3: having your pieces like Brock Purdy not getting injured, CMC
- 32:32Speaker 3: not getting hurt, George Kittle coming back incredibly well from
- 32:37Speaker 3: an Achilles last year, But now Debo Samuel is nicked
- 32:40Speaker 3: up because he's been a great re-addition to the 49ers.
- 32:44Speaker 3: But their defense has been playing well. And Nick Bosa
- 32:47Speaker 3: hasn't been back yet. So it is a head-scratcher how
- 32:51Speaker 3: well they're playing with the injuries.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Mike, with your work at Westwood One doing color analysts
- 32:57Speaker 1: for Sunday night football games, what's your Mount Rushmore of
- 33:00Speaker 1: best press box food places.
- 33:02Speaker 2: That you've been to? Oh, I like that. I like it.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I think.
- 33:05Speaker 3: I think Dallas is number one.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Wow, he was ready.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Dallas has great, great.
- 33:09Speaker 5: Press box food.
- 33:10Speaker 3: The Houston Texans have excellent food. And this past week,
- 33:15Speaker 3: I did the Monday night game. I did the Rams-Buffalo game.
- 33:19Speaker 3: The SoFi has a great array of different kinds of foods,
- 33:25Speaker 3: especially on the dessert table, which I really enjoy. So
- 33:30Speaker 3: I would say those three... are probably up there. Dallas,
- 33:34Speaker 3: I think, definitely the best. And I do like SoFi,
- 33:38Speaker 3: and I like Houston as well.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Right. He needed a fourth, though. He asked for a
- 33:41Speaker 2: Mount Rushmore. You gave him three. I mean... I mean, my....
- 33:45Speaker 5: My Mount Rushmore is a little smaller. Yes.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Mike, do you have one where you know when you're
- 33:57Speaker 1: on the way to the stadium and you're like, maybe
- 33:59Speaker 1: I should stop and eat somewhere before because I don't
- 34:00Speaker 1: really want what's the spread here?
- 34:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Detroit.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Detroit.
- 34:07Speaker 4: He's never been so prepared for any question in his
- 34:10Speaker 4: entire life.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Detroit's awful.
- 34:13Speaker 5: Detroit's awful.
- 34:14Speaker 3: I do look forward. I did Carolina a couple of
- 34:17Speaker 3: weeks ago. They have a self-serve ice cream sundae kind
- 34:21Speaker 3: of station.
- 34:22Speaker 6: Wow.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Where they add whipped cream, chocolate sauce. crushed up Oreos.
- 34:27Speaker 3: I went back two times for that and gave myself
- 34:29Speaker 3: a bellyache by the third quarter.
- 34:31Speaker 2: It's like being on a cruise ship.
- 34:32Speaker 5: I mean, it was awesome.
- 34:34Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 34:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:35Speaker 2: I'm like, wait a minute. I can have as much
- 34:37Speaker 2: of this as I want.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Mike, we'll get you out of here in a minute,
- 34:41Speaker 4: but there are so many big college football games coming
- 34:44Speaker 4: up this weekend. So I'll toss them out to you
- 34:46Speaker 4: and just give us your thoughts here. Let's start with
- 34:49Speaker 4: Ohio state at Indiana. What a game, Mike, that's going
- 34:51Speaker 4: to be a fun game.
- 34:53Speaker 2: I mean, it really is.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Indiana, boy, they certainly got tested against Nebraska, right? A
- 35:00Speaker 3: three-point win, 20-17. Nebraska was undefeated going in.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Who knew?
- 35:04Speaker 3: But their schedule strength was like 126, so they weren't
- 35:08Speaker 3: really getting the benefit of the doubt. And then they
- 35:10Speaker 3: almost pull off that win. Here's what I say in
- 35:13Speaker 3: whatever is considered a close game is Ohio State has
- 35:19Speaker 3: Jeremiah Smith.
- 35:20Speaker 5: The other team doesn't.
- 35:22Speaker 1: He is.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Clearly, clearly the best player in college football and has
- 35:29Speaker 3: been for a couple of years. It is undeniable how
- 35:33Speaker 3: good he is. And when you have him, you have
- 35:36Speaker 3: the advantage.
- 35:37Speaker 6: Yep.
- 35:37Speaker 2: He's special. Alabama at Tennessee. What are your thoughts there?
- 35:41Speaker 5: Boy, Alabama.
- 35:42Speaker 3: I mean, it's always tough to look at one play,
- 35:46Speaker 3: but getting screwed the way they did on that interference call.
- 35:49Speaker 3: In the end zone against Georgia was that was that
- 35:52Speaker 3: was rough. Again, you got a lot of game to
- 35:54Speaker 3: look at and such. I just think with Russell, a quarterback,
- 35:58Speaker 3: I think they're very, very talented. And that this Alabama
- 36:03Speaker 3: or that that loss could be there could be their
- 36:05Speaker 3: only one of the season. What did they drop or
- 36:08Speaker 3: they didn't drop much at all.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Right.
- 36:10Speaker 3: They're still at six because it was it was a
- 36:12Speaker 3: good loss. I like Alabama. I think they go on
- 36:16Speaker 3: a run.
- 36:16Speaker 2: But a massive game for Tennessee as well.
- 36:18Speaker 4: That's why I like the playoff, Mike, because Tennessee, this
- 36:20Speaker 4: is like kind of a de facto playoff game for
- 36:23Speaker 4: Tennessee here.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Tennessee is.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Sitting at 14 with one loss. If this is their
- 36:27Speaker 3: second loss, they'll obviously drop. Yeah, you got to look
- 36:30Speaker 3: at two losses because Notre Dame had the two losses
- 36:33Speaker 3: last year. Everybody thought they should still be in and
- 36:35Speaker 3: they were out. So two loss in a 12 team
- 36:39Speaker 3: can be kind of a cutoff depending on how many
- 36:41Speaker 3: two loss teams there are.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Missouri is taking on Mississippi. The SEC is crazy. Teams,
- 36:47Speaker 4: you know, they win a big game, they lose the
- 36:49Speaker 4: next game. What do you think about this one?
- 36:52Speaker 3: That's the thing. I mean, you win a game and
- 36:54Speaker 3: you lose a game, right? I'm trying to say Ole
- 36:56Speaker 3: Miss is ninth.
- 36:57Speaker 5: Missouri is 13th.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Again, both have a loss. You're getting to kind of
- 37:04Speaker 3: mid-season playoff ousters, right?
- 37:07Speaker 2: Yes.
- 37:08Speaker 3: Also, again, depending on how close the game is, depending
- 37:12Speaker 3: on where you're kind of, like if Ole Miss were
- 37:14Speaker 3: to lose, how much would they drop, right? Would they
- 37:17Speaker 3: drop past 12? And how much would Missouri move up
- 37:22Speaker 3: from 13? So I think you have to take obviously
- 37:26Speaker 3: all that into consideration. But we're getting to that time.
- 37:29Speaker 3: If you have a loss and you're playing another ranked
- 37:31Speaker 3: team and you're fighting to stay away from that second loss,
- 37:34Speaker 3: that's big.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Stu, I think Missouri Ole Miss has the best storyline
- 37:37Speaker 1: this weekend because Ole Miss' quarterback going into last season
- 37:41Speaker 1: was Austin Simmons. Austin Simmons gets hurt. Trinidad Chambliss steps in.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Austin Simmons transfers to Missouri. This is a revenge spot
- 37:48Speaker 1: for Austin Simmons.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Austin Simmons is playing some great ball. Not turning it over,
- 37:55Speaker 3: just one interception, I think 14 touchdowns. His stock is really,
- 38:01Speaker 3: really going up. I don't think there's any doubt about
- 38:04Speaker 3: that for the next level. He's 6'4, 220, good-sized kid
- 38:07Speaker 3: that can move. Got an arm on him. He's definitely
- 38:10Speaker 3: moving up.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Let's all congratulate Notre Dame together for finally playing somebody.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Thank you. He's getting mad. He's smiling, but he's mad,
- 38:21Speaker 2: I can tell. All you can do is play who's
- 38:24Speaker 2: on the schedule.
- 38:24Speaker 5: You're right.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Well, you have BYU at BYU this week. You'll be
- 38:28Speaker 2: on the call in that game.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Again, hold on, because they're all FBS teams. They're all
- 38:34Speaker 3: Power 4 teams. Except Rice was. They're all Power 4 teams. So,
- 38:39Speaker 3: I mean, some happen to be in down years. I mean,
- 38:42Speaker 3: what are you looking for? They're not playing, you know,
- 38:46Speaker 3: a directional school like a lot of these other schools do.
- 38:49Speaker 5: Right.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Beating Belichick used to be a great win. Let's be honest.
- 38:52Speaker 2: I mean, right? Yeah. Are you worried about Notre Dame?
- 38:57Speaker 2: I mean, this is a big game. It's at BYU.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Tough place to play. Interesting game.
- 39:01Speaker 3: I mean, to your guy's point, this will be the
- 39:04Speaker 3: best test of the season for them until they play
- 39:06Speaker 3: Miami on November 7th.
- 39:09Speaker 5: So, yeah.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:10Speaker 3: How do you respond to, you know, Wisconsin opening game
- 39:14Speaker 3: was 13-10 at halftime.
- 39:16Speaker 5: Then they blew them out.
- 39:17Speaker 3: North Carolina returned the opening kickoff in the second half
- 39:20Speaker 3: for a touchdown. It was 21-20. Then they took charge
- 39:24Speaker 3: of the game. But really, in neither one of those games,
- 39:26Speaker 3: Was there a thought Notre Dame was going to lose?
- 39:29Speaker 3: This will be different. So if this game is close
- 39:31Speaker 3: or Notre Dame is behind, how do they react? That's
- 39:35Speaker 3: going to be the big test for them because they
- 39:37Speaker 3: really haven't had that test yet.
- 39:39Speaker 4: I'm glad you brought up the Miami-Notre Dame game. It's
- 39:42Speaker 4: at Notre Dame. I figured with you calling the games
- 39:45Speaker 4: this year for Notre Dame, The box might be open
- 39:48Speaker 4: for me, Taylor, and Mikey A to attend that game
- 39:50Speaker 4: with your lovely wife.
- 39:51Speaker 2: What do you think? Should I reach out to her?
- 39:52Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 39:54Speaker 5: Absolutely not.
- 39:55Speaker 2: No.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Absolutely not.
- 39:59Speaker 2: That's rude.
- 39:59Speaker 3: I want you guys in that booth.
- 40:02Speaker 1: So we don't need tickets to the game, but I'm
- 40:06Speaker 1: looking right now. The cheapest ticket is $ 839. That's ridiculous.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Can we just walk in with you?
- 40:12Speaker 6: Yes.
- 40:12Speaker 1: And then we'll separate once we get through the gate.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Yes, we're your team. Yes.
- 40:16Speaker 3: No, because you'll be looked at as with me then.
- 40:20Speaker 3: So no matter where you go in the stadium, when
- 40:23Speaker 3: you do stupid stuff, which eventually you will, they'll say, wait,
- 40:27Speaker 3: weren't those guys with Golik?
- 40:29Speaker 1: Yes.
- 40:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 40:30Speaker 3: By the way, speaking of tickets, the most expensive ticket
- 40:33Speaker 3: for Notre Dame.
- 40:34Speaker 2: BYU, $ 27, 000.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Wow.
- 40:39Speaker 2: It's going to be big in Provo.
- 40:41Speaker 5: No, I know.
- 40:41Speaker 4: I have an idea because Joe Theismann is going to
- 40:43Speaker 4: join us in a few minutes.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Joe went to Notre Dame.
- 40:46Speaker 4: I guarantee you if I ask Joe, hey, Joe, can
- 40:48Speaker 4: we sit in the box for Notre Dame Miami?
- 40:50Speaker 2: He'll give us a big yes, and he'll be happy
- 40:52Speaker 2: about it. How about that, Mike? Well, you know what?
- 40:56Speaker 3: Go hang out with Joe then.
- 40:58Speaker 2: You go ahead. I want to hang out with you.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Be Joe's friend for this game.
- 41:04Speaker 2: I'm going to get a credential that just says with Golic. Oh, God, no,
- 41:08Speaker 2: please don't. That'll end my career at Notre Dame.
- 41:11Speaker 3: Yes.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Mike, how excited are you?
- 41:14Speaker 4: You're from Cleveland. You're a big Guardians fan. How excited
- 41:16Speaker 4: are you for the guards here? Yeah, listen, got one
- 41:20Speaker 4: in Tampa Bay, so, you know, got that first one.
- 41:22Speaker 4: I know they lost the second one, but, you know,
- 41:25Speaker 4: let's see what they can do. Tampa Bay was thought
- 41:27Speaker 4: to be really the only American League team that could,
- 41:30Speaker 4: you know, challenge a National League team and looking like
- 41:34Speaker 4: Milwaukee now. up two zip on the Dodgers. But my Guardians, man.
- 41:38Speaker 5: They'll keep it close. They'll keep it close.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Peralta, what a great job he did pitching for Tampa Bay.
- 41:46Speaker 5: He was just throwing some smoke.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Yep, that's what happens when you leave the Mets.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Taylor, go ahead.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Mike, I love the segment, Hey Dad, on the Golic's.
- 42:00Speaker 1: If you were drafting the best chores for, What would
- 42:03Speaker 1: be your one-one selection?
- 42:05Speaker 2: Wow, I think it's power cleaning.
- 42:07Speaker 5: It's power washing.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Yes.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Power washing, and I'll use the word that's in it,
- 42:13Speaker 3: it's powerful. You see the results instantly. Yes. You go
- 42:19Speaker 3: from dirty to perfectly clean. Through brute force. And it's
- 42:25Speaker 3: getting dirt off a deck, dirt off a driveway, weeds
- 42:28Speaker 3: out of the cracks.
- 42:29Speaker 5: It's the ultimate cleaner. It's awesome.
- 42:35Speaker 2: I would pay to power wash things. That's how awesome
- 42:37Speaker 2: it is, you know?
- 42:39Speaker 3: It really is. It's instant satisfaction.
- 42:43Speaker 5: And for a guy, that's very important.
- 42:47Speaker 2: As instant as possible, yes. That's exactly right.
- 42:51Speaker 4: Golik and Golik, 10 to noon Eastern on ESPN Radio.
- 42:55Speaker 4: He'll be on the call of Notre Dame and BYU.
- 42:59Speaker 4: And I'll be on Sunday night. Is it Sunday night
- 43:00Speaker 4: football or Monday night this week?
- 43:03Speaker 5: Actually, it's no night.
- 43:04Speaker 3: I'm not I'm not doing a Sunday night game this week.
- 43:07Speaker 3: I had to I had to take to pick two
- 43:09Speaker 3: games to be off. And I thought the travel from
- 43:11Speaker 3: Provo to Green Bay might be a little prove a
- 43:14Speaker 3: little more difficult than I want to tackle. So I'm
- 43:17Speaker 3: not doing a Sunday night game this week.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Awesome. When you have to play a real team.
- 43:21Speaker 5: So.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Enjoy it. We'll enjoy it. Did Chris plan a vacation
- 43:24Speaker 2: since you're going to be home on Sunday? I know.
- 43:27Speaker 2: You know how it is.
- 43:29Speaker 3: When you're traveling so much and you get a weekend
- 43:31Speaker 3: when you don't, you're going to sit on the frigging couch.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Enjoy it, Mike. You've earned it.
- 43:38Speaker 4: We appreciate the time, as always. Golic and Golic, 10
- 43:40Speaker 4: to noon Eastern. Have a great weekend, Mike. It's a
- 43:42Speaker 4: great weekend of football coming up.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Enjoy it. Thanks, guys. All right.
