- 0:00Speaker 1: Time out. We're back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: Bounce Life Chiropractic. And I'm here with doctor Harley and
- 0:05Speaker 1: we've got a big weekend coming up, fourth of July weekend. Yeah,
- 0:07Speaker 1: and I'm excited to chat. I feel like I'm in
- 0:09Speaker 1: a classroom right now because we have a diagram.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going to talk about the different vertebrae in
- 0:14Speaker 2: the spine for the next couple of weeks and we'll
- 0:17Speaker 2: see how it goes. If we're liking it, we'll get
- 0:19Speaker 2: through all thirty three of them, because there are thirty
- 0:21Speaker 2: three segments in our spine. If we're filing like it's
- 0:24Speaker 2: getting a little old, maybe we'll take a break and
- 0:26Speaker 2: come back to it. But we're going to start.
- 0:27Speaker 1: But we have we have a visual aid that we're
- 0:29Speaker 1: not going to be able to use on the radio,
- 0:31Speaker 1: but I will point to it anyway. It says the
- 0:33Speaker 1: effects of spinal misalignments. So where are we going to
- 0:35Speaker 1: start at the top and work our way down here.
- 0:36Speaker 2: We're gonna start the top, work our way down, all right.
- 0:38Speaker 1: So I'm looking out here, says one C is that
- 0:40Speaker 1: the top vertebrae.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yep, I never really actually realized that it should be
- 0:44Speaker 2: C one T like the letter should be first. Maybe
- 0:48Speaker 2: this was printed differently. Interesting, I never paid attention to that.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Well, there, I see one one. See whatever it is,
- 0:53Speaker 1: it's on the top.
- 0:54Speaker 2: So that is the very top bone in our neck.
- 0:56Speaker 2: We also call it Atlas. So if you're familiar with
- 0:59Speaker 2: like Greek mythology, Atlas holds the world on his shoulder,
- 1:03Speaker 2: sea one kind of holds our world or our head.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So Atlas orthogonal bone? Or am I thinking it? Maybe
- 1:09Speaker 1: I'm saying it wrong?
- 1:10Speaker 2: No, to see Atlas bone anyway, I think what you're
- 1:12Speaker 2: thinking of, like Atlas orthogonal? Is it a chiropractic technique?
- 1:16Speaker 1: Oh okay, see I just I remember like thirty years
- 1:19Speaker 1: ago hearing that, so oh yeah. And then you pointed
- 1:21Speaker 1: out at Las. I'm like, oh, I've heard this one.
- 1:23Speaker 1: So what if I have an issue with my C one?
- 1:26Speaker 1: What kind of things do I feel in my body? Typically?
- 1:29Speaker 2: So that's kind of the cool thing with this big
- 1:30Speaker 2: chart I have in my office is you can look
- 1:32Speaker 2: at the bone that you're looking at, and then it'll
- 1:34Speaker 2: go as you go across it to the different areas
- 1:37Speaker 2: that the nerves from that sea one go to so
- 1:40Speaker 2: we have vascular supply on our head, pituitary glands, scalp,
- 1:43Speaker 2: facial bones, brain, inner and middle ear sympathetic nervous systems.
- 1:47Speaker 2: So those are kind of the different areas that it's
- 1:49Speaker 2: supplied by that SEA one.
- 1:51Speaker 1: So these are the things that this would cause if
- 1:53Speaker 1: you're having an issue.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And so now we'll keep moving over to the effects
- 1:56Speaker 2: that misalignments with SEA one can have. So you can
- 1:59Speaker 2: have headaches, anxiety, insomnia, head colds, high blood pressure, migraine, headaches, malaise, amnesia, fatigue,
- 2:06Speaker 2: and dizziness.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And if you have those, that doesn't mean it has
- 2:10Speaker 1: to be this, but if you're having those, there's a
- 2:12Speaker 1: good a good likelihood there could be.
- 2:14Speaker 2: This, right, you know, that's not always you know, hand
- 2:16Speaker 2: in hands like, oh you have this out of alignment,
- 2:18Speaker 2: this is going to be the cause or this problem
- 2:20Speaker 2: you're having is directly associated to this one. It's just
- 2:23Speaker 2: kind of that general area. We tend to see more
- 2:25Speaker 2: issues typically with C one misalignments. We do see a
- 2:28Speaker 2: lot more headaches and neck pain, and we can have
- 2:31Speaker 2: some brain fog or fatigue just as that's putting a
- 2:33Speaker 2: lot of pressure up at the very top of our neck.
- 2:35Speaker 2: And our brainstem hangs out right there, so we have
- 2:38Speaker 2: our brain and then it continues out of our skull
- 2:40Speaker 2: as our brainstem and then adventure of the spinal cord.
- 2:43Speaker 2: So right where that c one is at, that's right
- 2:45Speaker 2: where the brainstems hanging out. So there's a lot of
- 2:47Speaker 2: things going on in that direct area.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Is this a thing that people of all ages experience
- 2:51Speaker 1: or do you typically see this in younger or older
- 2:54Speaker 1: or is this kind of everybody?
- 2:55Speaker 2: You can see upper neck autlass misalignments even at birth.
- 2:59Speaker 2: You know, think about the birth process. It's very hard
- 3:01Speaker 2: on the body. You know, even if you're assisted or
- 3:03Speaker 2: non assisted, that's a lot of pressure being put on
- 3:05Speaker 2: the head and the neck. And what's the first thing
- 3:08Speaker 2: to tell you to do when you hold a baby?
- 3:10Speaker 1: Don't drop in?
- 3:11Speaker 2: I mean that's a good one, yes, hold their head
- 3:13Speaker 2: because yeah, right, so like that upper neck area is
- 3:16Speaker 2: so vital even at birth. But we see, you know,
- 3:18Speaker 2: upper neck and misalignments all the way through life.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and that babies they go through so much trauma
- 3:24Speaker 1: just being born. They don't even talk for like a
- 3:25Speaker 1: year because of it. So you don't know what I've
- 3:28Speaker 1: been through. Maybe that's not why maybe not. If somebody
- 3:31Speaker 1: is experiencing the headaches and insomnia and uh again, migraines
- 3:35Speaker 1: and those kind of things, if they would like to
- 3:37Speaker 1: stop in and find out maybe it is a C
- 3:39Speaker 1: one issue. What is the best way for them to
- 3:41Speaker 1: connect with you to see if hopefully they can find
- 3:43Speaker 1: a solution here.
- 3:44Speaker 2: And you can just walk into our office if you're
- 3:46Speaker 2: in the area, and we'll talk with you a little bit.
- 3:48Speaker 2: We will schedule if you're a new patient. Point where
- 3:50Speaker 2: don't take walk in new patients, but you can give
- 3:52Speaker 2: us a call at six year O five two one
- 3:55Speaker 2: five one seven eighty five to get that scheduled, or
- 3:57Speaker 2: head over to our Facebook page at bound Life Chiropract.
- 4:00Speaker 2: We even have a book online option on our website.
