- 0:10Speaker 1: He's a super Bowl champion, an NFL MVP, and a
- 0:13Speaker 1: staple at the Lake Tahoe Celebrity Golf Tournament July eighth
- 0:18Speaker 1: to the eleventh in Lake Tahoe. We'll be out there.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I cannot wait to see my friend Joe Thaisman. He's
- 0:23Speaker 1: with us right now and he looks amazing. Joe, I
- 0:25Speaker 1: got to tell you is he said right before we started,
- 0:27Speaker 1: you look fantastic. You look fantastic, my friend.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I appreciate it. Thank you.
- 0:32Speaker 3: I guess I'd like to say it was good living,
- 0:35Speaker 3: but it's good loving. I guess a life's a great person.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Okay, let's put it that way.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Joe. We are all so lucky to be a part.
- 0:44Speaker 1: You're a much bigger part of it than we are,
- 0:46Speaker 1: although I've been out there for ten years broadcasting.
- 0:48Speaker 3: But the.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Lake Tahoe Celebrity Tournament is such a magical event. It
- 0:54Speaker 1: is such a special week, and I'm wondering if you
- 0:57Speaker 1: could speak to what makes that thing. It's so fantastic
- 1:01Speaker 1: where the participants are waiting all year to get their
- 1:05Speaker 1: invitation back to Lake Tahoe, and if they don't get it,
- 1:08Speaker 1: they're crushed. If they do get it, they celebrate. What
- 1:10Speaker 1: makes this such a special event shop.
- 1:12Speaker 3: It's our masters for the celebrity golf paternity. I guess
- 1:17Speaker 3: you could say American Century. It's the American Century Golf Championship,
- 1:21Speaker 3: and it's obviously in Lake Tahoe, and it's the thirty
- 1:23Speaker 3: seventh year, and I've been fortunate to play in thirty
- 1:26Speaker 3: six of them. Jack Wagner's played in all thirty seven.
- 1:29Speaker 3: As a matter of fact, I think Jimmy McMahon has
- 1:31Speaker 3: as well. So it's there's a couple of guys that
- 1:34Speaker 3: have been there forever, but they do so much money.
- 1:36Speaker 3: They've raised over eight million dollars for the Sour Institute
- 1:40Speaker 3: in Kansas City as well as various charities.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It's just an incredible.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Situation where you get a chance to see people out
- 1:48Speaker 3: of their work environment. You get to meet people, You
- 1:51Speaker 3: get to meet them as people, and that's the fun
- 1:54Speaker 3: part of it, and then you build relationships over years.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Like I say, it's thirty six for me, and so
- 1:59Speaker 3: you know, we get in people in like Bobby Flay's
- 2:02Speaker 3: gonna be there, which you know, I watch enough of
- 2:05Speaker 3: the Food Network that I get to enjoy stuff like that.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Guy Fierti is a really close friend, so you know,
- 2:11Speaker 3: you do that stuff. And of course Smoltzy's going to
- 2:13Speaker 3: be back, Steph's gonna be there, Anika's there, Marty's gonna
- 2:16Speaker 3: be there, Marty Fish. I mean, you've got just the
- 2:19Speaker 3: people that have been there and have a chance to compete,
- 2:21Speaker 3: like Tony Romo is another one. But we have a
- 2:23Speaker 3: great feature that we added a year ago. It's the
- 2:26Speaker 3: American Century Fantasy Golf Competition. Okay, so you can log
- 2:31Speaker 3: onto accfantasygolf dot com get all the details to give
- 2:36Speaker 3: I'll give it to you in a brief sense. We're
- 2:38Speaker 3: all broken down into five different groups based upon your
- 2:41Speaker 3: ability to play the game. Well I'm not in group
- 2:44Speaker 3: five yet, okay, so that's the good group four.
- 2:47Speaker 2: But you know, and what you do.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Is you choose one person from each group and you
- 2:51Speaker 3: can change every day if you want over the three days, ten, eleven, twelve.
- 2:55Speaker 3: If you win one day, you get two free tickets
- 2:58Speaker 3: to next year's tournament.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Wow.
- 2:59Speaker 3: If you win overall, you get ten thousand dollars to
- 3:02Speaker 3: donate to the charity of your choice. And I'll tell
- 3:05Speaker 3: you American Century is such an incredible company. They donate
- 3:10Speaker 3: forty percent of their dividends go to the Stour Institute
- 3:15Speaker 3: for Cancer Research. I mean, it's just an incredible company
- 3:18Speaker 3: they've been. You know, this is decades since Jonathan Thomas
- 3:22Speaker 3: has had the company involved in it, and I'm I'm
- 3:24Speaker 3: excited as all get out to be again a part
- 3:27Speaker 3: of it and they have a chance to talk about
- 3:29Speaker 3: it because and you've been out there.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Do you know what's Lake Tyler is so beautiful.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Oh, it's amazing this time of year.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I mean it's just majestic. I just wish I could
- 3:39Speaker 3: hit the ball just.
- 3:40Speaker 2: A little bit for.
- 3:42Speaker 1: So I've heard the story those old days.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Speaking of old days, I've heard the stories from the
- 3:47Speaker 4: Johnny Come Lately's like Stugatts. But tell me about your
- 3:49Speaker 4: favorite parts of favorite celebrities from like thirty thirty five
- 3:52Speaker 4: years ago, late nineties when this thing first started going.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Well, you know what, the back when we started this thing,
- 3:59Speaker 3: the seventeenth whole has become a featured hole as it
- 4:01Speaker 3: has a lot of different places on the tour on
- 4:04Speaker 3: PGA tour, but ours sort of like the first one.
- 4:06Speaker 2: It's right on the lake.
- 4:07Speaker 3: It's a par three and we looked at some pictures
- 4:11Speaker 3: of it a year ago at our team meeting, and
- 4:14Speaker 3: there were probably four hundred people, maybe fifteen boats. Now
- 4:20Speaker 3: they're ten deep as far as the boats go, and
- 4:24Speaker 3: there's two or three thousand people. They're expecting, you know,
- 4:27Speaker 3: the prize money seven hundred and fifty thousand. We're expecting
- 4:30Speaker 3: over seventy thousand again this year. I mean, it's just unbelievable,
- 4:34Speaker 3: the attendance and the way people, you know, cheer for us,
- 4:37Speaker 3: and they get a chance to see people.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Like I said, you know, we wear helmets.
- 4:41Speaker 3: In the world of football, you can't get real close
- 4:44Speaker 3: to the celebrities, but out here you get a chance
- 4:47Speaker 3: to get really close to them, and everybody's wonderfully gracious.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I always try and stand next to Anika Sorenstein because
- 4:53Speaker 3: she's got such a great swing, and I think, I
- 4:56Speaker 3: think the LPGA players, the women in general, have such
- 5:00Speaker 3: a great tempo swing.
- 5:01Speaker 2: And of course us guys think we can muscle things
- 5:03Speaker 2: around the golf course.
- 5:05Speaker 3: So I just try and I try and steal some
- 5:07Speaker 3: of that energy. I say, okay, so and easy.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So easy.
- 5:11Speaker 1: You're hoping some of it rubs off on you.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Joe, right, oh God, yes, I am Joe.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Do you have any celebrities in your sights of who
- 5:18Speaker 5: you want to beat this year, because I remember last
- 5:20Speaker 5: year Ray Romano got kind of hot coming in. Just
- 5:23Speaker 5: beat you out, anybody kind of in your in your way.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Ray is one. Charles Charles beat me too. I'm so old,
- 5:31Speaker 2: so depressed. Markley Charles has played.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Charles played alive, has been playing a lot better. Yeah, finished,
- 5:38Speaker 3: I think seventy eight. I had seven doubles on Sunday,
- 5:42Speaker 3: and when you get a double, it's a minus two.
- 5:45Speaker 3: So basically I gave away fourteen points. You know, at
- 5:48Speaker 3: worst maybe I should have given away three or four.
- 5:50Speaker 3: So I really didn't play well on Sunday. I've been
- 5:54Speaker 3: working on my swing. I've got some shoulder issues, but
- 5:57Speaker 3: it doesn't stop me from swinging the club. It just
- 6:00Speaker 3: doesn't go as far. You reach a point in your
- 6:02Speaker 3: life where you think it's the technology, you think it's
- 6:05Speaker 3: the clubs. Maybe if you do this, you do that,
- 6:07Speaker 3: you can change things. Now it's just father times undefeated,
- 6:12Speaker 3: and I just loved the game so much, and I
- 6:14Speaker 3: learned so much, and I met Miles Teller over the
- 6:17Speaker 3: last couple of years.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I'm telling you what a great guy he is. Of
- 6:19Speaker 2: course you know, Top Gun Maverick's one of my.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Favorite movies, so I had a chance to see him,
- 6:24Speaker 3: and I see Larry the Cable Guy every year. Larry's
- 6:27Speaker 3: another one that I'd like to try and beat. So yeah,
- 6:30Speaker 3: I got my sight's on a few people.
- 6:32Speaker 5: Me and Stu put a flyer on you last year.
- 6:34Speaker 5: He did, and we remember that Friday you came out firing.
- 6:36Speaker 5: Now we just have to keep that momentum into the weekend.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a it was a true flyer.
- 6:43Speaker 1: But you did come out on fire first day, Joe,
- 6:45Speaker 1: you did.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I played okay early on, Yeah I did.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I kept it in play and I you know, the
- 6:51Speaker 3: hardest thing out there is as the week goes on,
- 6:53Speaker 3: is the greens get more and more difficult to put.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It's a tough gol It's a left to right golf course.
- 6:58Speaker 3: If you cut the ball, if you fade it, it's
- 7:01Speaker 3: it's a golf course that should suit you. But these guys,
- 7:04Speaker 3: you know, I mean they hit it so straight. Small
- 7:06Speaker 3: s hits it great. Like I say, Steph has been unbelievable.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I mean you go back to twenty four when Steph,
- 7:12Speaker 3: you know, he made eagle in eighteen had a hole
- 7:14Speaker 3: in one.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Tim Brown last.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Year had a hole in one, won himself a boat.
- 7:18Speaker 3: So there's lots of It's had some bears crossing on
- 7:21Speaker 3: that par three, so you're you know, you're in.
- 7:24Speaker 2: The wildlife, and it just it's just a ton of fun.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Jerry Rice, Jerome Bettis, the name does go on and
- 7:31Speaker 2: on and on. Yes, Roger Clemens, I mean I could.
- 7:34Speaker 2: It's a who's you see it? Yeah? Seen it? Joe?
- 7:37Speaker 4: Is Jack Wagner still a superstar over there because he's
- 7:39Speaker 4: somebody that if in high school, I thought it was
- 7:42Speaker 4: somebody who.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Was like, Jack Wagner is the mayor of this tournament.
- 7:46Speaker 1: As Joe pointed out, he's pointed in every single tournament.
- 7:48Speaker 1: And my wife when she came out there, the first
- 7:51Speaker 1: time she went out there, the only person she was
- 7:53Speaker 1: interested in meeting was Jack Wagner. How about that, Joe.
- 7:56Speaker 3: A lot of a lot of people are like a
- 7:58Speaker 3: lot of women are like that, But a lot of
- 7:59Speaker 3: people are like that too. Jack's just such a great guy.
- 8:02Speaker 3: And like I said, American Century puts on one heck
- 8:06Speaker 3: of a show. We have a great We have a
- 8:08Speaker 3: karaoke night on Thursday night where different individuals get up
- 8:12Speaker 3: an attempt to sing.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Alfonso Roberto is just you know, he is.
- 8:17Speaker 3: He's the complete entertainer. We see him hosting shows on
- 8:20Speaker 3: TV dance. He can sing, He's just he's and he's
- 8:25Speaker 3: a heck of a golfer. I mean, he really moves
- 8:27Speaker 3: it for a guy that's not real big.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I guess you could say.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I heard rich Eisen last year doing New York, New York,
- 8:34Speaker 1: but yes.
- 8:36Speaker 2: It was very good.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Has Jothaies been ever gotten up there and done some karaoke?
- 8:41Speaker 2: No, and don't expect that. Don't don't pull a flyer
- 8:44Speaker 2: on me getting up in karaoke.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Okay, my voice is, My voice has its problems as
- 8:49Speaker 3: we go forward. The thing I do want I want
- 8:52Speaker 3: to emphasize, I'm asking everybody log on to acc Fantasygolf
- 8:56Speaker 3: dot com and get involved in our Fantasy Golf our game,
- 9:00Speaker 3: which is which is really neat and it's like I said,
- 9:03Speaker 3: every day you can switch if you want big prize
- 9:06Speaker 3: ten thousand to go to the charity of your choice.
- 9:08Speaker 3: And I'm just honored and thrilled to be able to
- 9:11Speaker 3: do it. Like I say, of the thirty thirty six
- 9:14Speaker 3: of the thirty seven years that we've been able to
- 9:16Speaker 3: do this, and it's wonderful entertainment on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- 9:21Speaker 3: It's on NBC and Peacock, so you'll be able to
- 9:24Speaker 3: tune in and watch it.
- 9:25Speaker 1: It's a wonderful event. Can we all agree, Joe and listen.
- 9:27Speaker 1: We'll keep it between us, Okay, Tony Romo is taking
- 9:30Speaker 1: that thing a little too seriously, I mean just between us. Right.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Well, he's been you know, he's been here a couple
- 9:37Speaker 2: of years ago. He hurt his wrist.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Yeah, so I would expect Tony to be one of
- 9:40Speaker 3: those guys who's coming back with the vengeance because he's
- 9:43Speaker 3: won it. He knows what it's like. He's strong as
- 9:46Speaker 3: can be. He's got really strong hands. Hits it a mile.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I remember I was. I was with Josh Allen hitting it.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Now.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I don't think Josh is playing this year. I'm not sure.
- 9:54Speaker 3: But last year we have a there's a like an office,
- 10:00Speaker 3: you know, tent office about three hundred yards out and
- 10:03Speaker 3: he was just blowing it over it. You know, Vinnie
- 10:06Speaker 3: donegro can do the same thing. Yeah, I mean some
- 10:08Speaker 3: guy just flat move it. And that's what we reach
- 10:11Speaker 3: the stage of our life or what else are we
- 10:13Speaker 3: going to do?
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, why not go play golf?
- 10:16Speaker 3: I still work a bit, I still do motivational speeches,
- 10:18Speaker 3: and people say, why don't you just retire and play golf.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I say, do that now.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Steve Gott's here. The biggest stage in world soccer is here,
- 10:28Speaker 1: and every goal changes everything. And now FanDuel's given you
- 10:32Speaker 1: a reason the room for every single one introducing every

- 10:41Speaker 1: goals means more bonus bets at All you have to
- 10:44Speaker 1: do is turn on your token from the opening whistle
- 10:47Speaker 1: to the final kick. Let there be goals on FanDuel.

- 11:49Speaker 1: I know you still pay attention. We'll promote it one
- 11:51Speaker 1: more way, one more time on the way out, but
- 11:53Speaker 1: I know you're still paying attention very closely to the
- 11:56Speaker 1: commanders to the NFL. And I think the NFC East
- 11:59Speaker 1: is such an itching division this year, Joe, because you
- 12:02Speaker 1: have Jaden coming back off the injury, went to the
- 12:04Speaker 1: NFC Championship game as a rookie Eagles, they get rid
- 12:08Speaker 1: of aj Brown, the Giants first year with John Harbaugh,
- 12:11Speaker 1: and the Cowboys seem to be very very good. It
- 12:13Speaker 1: could be like for me, this is anyone's division to win.
- 12:15Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 12:17Speaker 3: Totally agree with you. I think it's the best division
- 12:19Speaker 3: in football. Each team I think upgraded themselves defensively.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Dallas got better.
- 12:24Speaker 3: The Eagles probably as we assume, will probably be there
- 12:28Speaker 3: obviously in New York with Jackson, he's another one who's
- 12:31Speaker 3: going to go and I think Jade's going to have
- 12:33Speaker 3: himself one.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Heck of a year.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Had a tough year last year with injuries, but he's
- 12:37Speaker 3: going to come back another you know, another story. I'm
- 12:39Speaker 3: curious to see what Kevin's going to do up in Minnesota.
- 12:42Speaker 2: With Kyler Murray?
- 12:44Speaker 3: Right, what kind of offense are they going to run
- 12:45Speaker 3: with Kyler Murray? And of course who's going to be
- 12:48Speaker 3: the quarterback in Cleveland? And you know who's going to
- 12:50Speaker 3: be the quarterback in Arizona if he decides to show up.
- 12:54Speaker 3: There's lots of wonderful questions. And of course Aaron's back.
- 12:58Speaker 3: And I was reading an article where Tom Brady was
- 13:00Speaker 3: talking about Aaron being the best thrower of the ball,
- 13:03Speaker 3: and I agree with it. And his accuracy, his release,
- 13:06Speaker 3: his speed, all the things that you need not to
- 13:10Speaker 3: be good at that position, but great at it. He
- 13:13Speaker 3: has every one of them.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Joe, are there any other young quarterbacks really catching your
- 13:16Speaker 4: eye as somebody who can be at the top of
- 13:18Speaker 4: the league for a while? Caleb Williams is name that
- 13:20Speaker 4: a lot of people are debating lately. Anybody else.
- 13:23Speaker 3: I think Caleb is one of those guys. We saw
- 13:25Speaker 3: what happened. We know his natural talent. We saw what
- 13:28Speaker 3: happens when he got into a more governing system, and
- 13:32Speaker 3: I think, you know, I think he's one of those
- 13:34Speaker 3: guys to.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Keep it eye.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I still think Patrick is going to come back and
- 13:36Speaker 3: play really well. Patrick Mahomes to me is the best
- 13:39Speaker 3: quarterback in football. Of course, you know the Buffalo Bills
- 13:43Speaker 3: is their window running out with Josh.
- 13:46Speaker 2: But I think I would say, and I would say, Jayden,
- 13:49Speaker 2: Jayden Daniels.
- 13:49Speaker 3: I think, you know, this is the kind of year
- 13:52Speaker 3: I think he can really really blossom. He spent a
- 13:55Speaker 3: lot of time with David Blau, who was the offensive coordinator.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Now since Cliff left.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Go to San Diego or I should say yeah to
- 14:02Speaker 3: the Chargers, La Chargers, So you know, I and there's
- 14:09Speaker 3: guys I think that you're looking to make the jump
- 14:11Speaker 3: Trevor Lawrence. What's going to be his next level? Okay,
- 14:14Speaker 3: where you're going to go with him on the next
- 14:16Speaker 3: steps that he has to take. It's a business where
- 14:20Speaker 3: people just want somebody to be good right away. But
- 14:24Speaker 3: the problem you have is a process. There's things you
- 14:28Speaker 3: don't know, there's things you have to recognize. Probably I
- 14:31Speaker 3: think one of the best moves in the off season
- 14:33Speaker 3: where the Raiders getting Kirk Cousins to work with Fernando Mendoza,
- 14:39Speaker 3: because coaches can only teach you so much and you
- 14:42Speaker 3: can only practice so much. But here's a guy that
- 14:45Speaker 3: knows the system. It's the third quarterback that he's had
- 14:48Speaker 3: an opportunity to mentor so all of a sudden, you've
- 14:51Speaker 3: got a guy with knowledge, experience, and willing to help
- 14:55Speaker 3: any way he can help this young man get good.
- 14:58Speaker 3: So the Raiders could be a surprise football team this year.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I think they could be one of those teams that
- 15:02Speaker 3: you look at. It's a tough division, we know it,
- 15:05Speaker 3: but I think they're going to be considerably better than
- 15:08Speaker 3: they've been in the past.
- 15:10Speaker 7: Joe, I'm curious what your thoughts are with what the
- 15:13Speaker 7: Rams are doing, because for generations, what we're told is
- 15:16Speaker 7: you build through the draft, you build through the draft.
- 15:18Speaker 7: And then here comes the Rams and they're like, you
- 15:20Speaker 7: know what, screw the draft, Let's just trade all our
- 15:23Speaker 7: picks and get all of these guys who are ready
- 15:25Speaker 7: to win.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Now, I'm with you, they're loaded for bear. This is
- 15:29Speaker 3: this isn't all. And we're in a poker game and
- 15:30Speaker 3: this is all and they're all in. Yeah, uh Annie
- 15:34Speaker 3: Miles is I mean, you're adding, you know, probably the
- 15:37Speaker 3: most powerful force on defense in the National Football League.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Then Aaron's talking about maybe coming back. Right, You've two outs,
- 15:45Speaker 3: you added two corners that are Pro bowlers. I mean offensively,
- 15:49Speaker 3: you know what you have. You know, Matthew had a
- 15:52Speaker 3: really solid year last year. You know, remember he didn't
- 15:54Speaker 3: practice a whole lot going into camp because of the injury.
- 15:57Speaker 3: But he's you know, they're they're loaded. They're loaded in
- 16:00Speaker 3: every position. The big key, though, guys, is can they
- 16:03Speaker 3: stay healthy? Can the teams that look like they're loaded
- 16:07Speaker 3: stay healthy? And I think the Rams are the ones.
- 16:10Speaker 3: You have to look at the Rams and say, if
- 16:11Speaker 3: they're healthy across the board, I don't know who beats them.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I don't know who scores points on them. I know
- 16:17Speaker 2: they can score points.
- 16:18Speaker 3: But I really don't know who beats them. They've got
- 16:21Speaker 3: the running game, They've got a defensive line that's unbelievable.
- 16:24Speaker 3: They've got corners now, they've got wide receivers can make plays.
- 16:26Speaker 3: They got a heck of a quarterback. And when you
- 16:29Speaker 3: check those boxes, it's hard to beat Joe.
- 16:32Speaker 5: If you were playing in the NFL today, Who's the
- 16:34Speaker 5: one receiver that you would want to start and be
- 16:37Speaker 5: a duo with.
- 16:38Speaker 2: That's a good question, That's a great question. Yes, you know,
- 16:43Speaker 2: I had little guys.
- 16:45Speaker 3: You know, Alvin and Virgil were five foot nine, Charlie
- 16:47Speaker 3: was six feet Art was six to three. I'd love
- 16:50Speaker 3: Art mounk back. Be honest with you, I think who
- 16:52Speaker 3: can Nakua? I think the coup would be a guy
- 16:55Speaker 3: that can do everything. He can play every position, he
- 16:58Speaker 3: can run by People's got great ball skills. You get
- 17:01Speaker 3: it in the general vicinity. He's going to make a
- 17:03Speaker 3: catch for you. So he's what I look at and
- 17:06Speaker 3: I go, that's that's somebody special. That's that would be
- 17:10Speaker 3: That would be one that would be a lot of fun.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I think so Joe.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Just going back to Aaron Rodgers being the greatest thrower
- 17:16Speaker 1: of the football of all time. You're just talking mechanically,
- 17:19Speaker 1: the way he could throw the ball fifty yards on
- 17:21Speaker 1: a line. He doesn't have to put too much air
- 17:23Speaker 1: underneath of it. Where would you rank Dan Marino in
- 17:26Speaker 1: terms of that just pure throwers Danny had.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Danny had a very different delivery and he was quick.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Dan Dan spun it really well, but Aaron, I think
- 17:36Speaker 3: spins it just exceptionally well.
- 17:38Speaker 2: To me, Warren Moon was one who could spin it
- 17:40Speaker 2: really well.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and Aaron has that plus the arm strength, plus
- 17:45Speaker 3: you know, the delivery like Dan, the release like Dan.
- 17:48Speaker 2: And he doesn't have to have his feet.
- 17:50Speaker 3: On the ground to make a throw where you know Danny,
- 17:53Speaker 3: most everybody else does, anybody that's human does.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I guess you could say they have to have their
- 17:58Speaker 2: feet on the ground.
- 17:59Speaker 3: But Aaron has the to be able to flip it
- 18:02Speaker 3: really quick, flick it really quick, and get it out
- 18:04Speaker 3: of his hands in a very timely fashion. And he
- 18:08Speaker 3: understands where people are supposed to be.
- 18:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 18:11Speaker 3: The problems he had with the Jets is he was
- 18:13Speaker 3: the general manager of the Jets too. You know, he
- 18:17Speaker 3: bring this guy in, bring that guy in.
- 18:19Speaker 2: They know the system. There was no way he wasn't.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Going to be in Pittsburgh with Mike McCarthy taking over
- 18:24Speaker 3: as the head coach. There's absolutely no way he was
- 18:27Speaker 3: not coming back, I guarantee. In their conversations, Mike basically
- 18:31Speaker 3: said to him, Hey, Aaron, you know you know this.
- 18:34Speaker 3: We've got a really good solid team around us. You've
- 18:36Speaker 3: been a part of it before you understand everything that
- 18:39Speaker 3: we're doing. We're going to do some of the things
- 18:41Speaker 3: we did, probably a lot of the things we did
- 18:43Speaker 3: in Green Bay.
- 18:44Speaker 2: The learning curve is not real big.
- 18:46Speaker 3: He wasn't going to go anyplace else because that would
- 18:48Speaker 3: mean he'd have to go to training camp, and he'd
- 18:50Speaker 3: have to go to OTAs you'd have to go to
- 18:52Speaker 3: mini camp here. If he just shows up at the opener,
- 18:55Speaker 3: he's going to know everything there is to know about
- 18:57Speaker 3: this offense.
- 18:58Speaker 5: Joe, you were on uh Brooklyn nine nine, I Love
- 19:02Speaker 5: that show. You had an appearance in Brooklyn nine nine.
- 19:05Speaker 5: Also had an appearance in UH Love on the Sidelines,
- 19:08Speaker 5: the TV movie What's What's tougher? Acting or playing quarterback
- 19:13Speaker 5: in the NFL?
- 19:14Speaker 1: Acting?
- 19:14Speaker 2: For sure?
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yes, you know.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Acting. Acting is is hard.
- 19:20Speaker 3: You know you have to memorize lines, but they can't
- 19:23Speaker 3: be they can't they can't just be spit out.
- 19:25Speaker 2: You have to own the lines. It's a little bit
- 19:27Speaker 2: like studying your playbook.
- 19:29Speaker 3: You have to you know, the coach will give you
- 19:30Speaker 3: the plays, but you have to be able to communicate
- 19:32Speaker 3: that to the players.
- 19:34Speaker 2: When it comes to acting, you have to be able
- 19:36Speaker 2: to be real. People have to.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Watch you and say, that's not acting. That's a real person.
- 19:41Speaker 3: You know, that's that's your reciting lines. But I work
- 19:45Speaker 3: with I work. I've worked with some great directors. You know,
- 19:47Speaker 3: when I did cannon Ball Run Too, the the Academy Award.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Snubbed that too.
- 19:58Speaker 3: We used to used to Bur used to make a
- 20:01Speaker 3: God bless him. He was an unbelievable guy. But Bert,
- 20:03Speaker 3: we just made up lines. We we had lived to
- 20:06Speaker 3: a degree. And the directors I've had and had a
- 20:09Speaker 3: chance to work with, they give you the you know,
- 20:11Speaker 3: here are the lines. If you can understand basically what
- 20:15Speaker 3: they're trying to say, they give you the liberty to
- 20:17Speaker 3: be able to put it in your words. I guess
- 20:19Speaker 3: you could say, but I think acting is acting is
- 20:23Speaker 3: sit and wait, sit and wait.
- 20:24Speaker 2: We have you know, we've got to shoot it eighteen
- 20:26Speaker 2: different ways.
- 20:28Speaker 3: We have to get this person. We have to get
- 20:29Speaker 3: that person. We need this point of view, we need
- 20:31Speaker 3: that point of view.
- 20:32Speaker 2: You know, when you.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Take a snap from center, you don't get any any
- 20:35Speaker 3: point of view. Is you just got to look out
- 20:37Speaker 3: for the people that are chasing you.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Don't take me.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I want to know how you.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I want to know how you how you run through lines?
- 20:44Speaker 4: Are you in the mirror? Are you talking to yourself?
- 20:46Speaker 4: You have somebody else running it with you, because that's
- 20:48Speaker 4: super intriguing to me.
- 20:49Speaker 3: All those things, all those things you have you have
- 20:52Speaker 3: someone play the different character that you're supposed to talk
- 20:55Speaker 3: to first, you want to get I think you just
- 20:57Speaker 3: want to absorb, you know, the whole the whole scene.
- 21:01Speaker 3: You know, what do we what is what's the whole
- 21:02Speaker 3: scene look like? Like? In love on the sidelines, you
- 21:05Speaker 3: know they're when I'm watching you know, the wedding and
- 21:08Speaker 3: and uh, you know, being with quote unquote my son
- 21:12Speaker 3: who's hurt, the things you have to say to him.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I mean I've gone through that. That that was pretty
- 21:18Speaker 2: easy for me to call up. But I think you
- 21:22Speaker 2: take every advantage.
- 21:23Speaker 3: You you stand in front of a mirror just because
- 21:27Speaker 3: you want to make sure your body language is right.
- 21:28Speaker 3: You have somebody help you with it, and then you
- 21:32Speaker 3: just study and study and study. Some people are really
- 21:34Speaker 3: quick studies. I mean James Earl Jones. I did a
- 21:38Speaker 3: movie with him many many years ago, and they handed
- 21:41Speaker 3: him the script as we walked to the set and
- 21:43Speaker 3: he killed it.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Good for him, Good for him.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Did you feel pressure during Cannonball Run two, because I
- 21:52Speaker 1: mean it's a who's who of actors in that movie.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Joe Martin, Oh, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Junior, I forget
- 22:00Speaker 3: during one of our breaks we filmed it in uh
- 22:03Speaker 3: uh Old Tucson and h one of our breaks, Sammy
- 22:09Speaker 3: had had a six shooter, you know, had a holster
- 22:11Speaker 3: and a six shooter and he would spin the gun.
- 22:14Speaker 3: He would do that when we were sitting around on
- 22:16Speaker 3: a break. And of course Burt Reynolds, Dom Delaize, Jackie
- 22:19Speaker 3: chan Cha amazing. Yes, it was just Mary Lou Henner,
- 22:24Speaker 3: Catherine Bach, Shirley McLean H.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Literally, it's a who's who of.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Actors and actresses that were just so much fun to
- 22:33Speaker 3: be around. And uh, like I said, Bert, Bert was
- 22:36Speaker 3: a really really dear friend and he gave me a
- 22:39Speaker 3: chance to be on Canniball Run two. Terry Brachaw did
- 22:42Speaker 3: Canniball Run one and then I did two.
- 22:46Speaker 2: That was that was a little bit looser when it
- 22:48Speaker 2: came to with lines.
- 22:50Speaker 3: It was like, you know, he'd sit down the night
- 22:52Speaker 3: after we'd finished shooting and he'd sit down and go, Okay,
- 22:54Speaker 3: here's this scene.
- 22:56Speaker 2: What do you want to say, right, okay, how about this? Okay,
- 23:01Speaker 2: that works, that's fine. Just remember what you want to say,
- 23:03Speaker 2: and he's going out and do it.
- 23:04Speaker 1: You mentioned James Earl Jones will get you out here.
- 23:06Speaker 1: On this note, mikey A, you want to run your
- 23:09Speaker 1: impression of James Earl Jones by Joe thisman, and we'll

- 23:27Speaker 2: Pretty good? That's it.
- 23:31Speaker 7: I'm not feeling great.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I'm not feeling all that.
- 23:33Speaker 2: A body of work to evaluate. I think I think
- 23:37Speaker 2: it was very good, all right. Matter of fact, I
- 23:39Speaker 2: closed closed my.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Eyes and I really thought I was sitting with James
