- 2:00Speaker 2: pick it up. That is how they tell you you've won.
- 2:03Speaker 3: And we had what three winners just yesterday?
- 2:05Speaker 2: Aree winters just yesterday? Yeah, we've had a really good
- 2:07Speaker 2: week this week. This I mean we is Yeah, we
- 2:11Speaker 2: are generous. We've atmed out this week. A big joke
- 2:16Speaker 2: coming if they I'm kind of excited. Jack came in
- 2:18Speaker 2: a few minutes ago and the Uh Jaden and has
- 2:21Speaker 2: been running the sports show for you know, Brandon and
- 2:25Speaker 2: UH and Mike because they've been on vacation. So he's
- 2:27Speaker 2: been doing it with his dad, you know, Brian Grime
- 2:29Speaker 2: from XL one of six point seven legendary morning show.
- 2:31Speaker 2: One of the greatest dudes in the building with Johnny's house. Yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 2: Jayden is his son. So Jaden comes in and does
- 2:36Speaker 2: the eight bit update for us on Fridays, and we
- 2:40Speaker 2: love Jayden. The dude is so over prepared. He takes
- 2:43Speaker 2: it seriously love him. Well, he said today he wasn't
- 2:46Speaker 2: gonna be able to make it because he's running that show.
- 2:48Speaker 2: That means he gets off the air and runs over
- 2:50Speaker 2: here to do the show, but he didn't have time
- 2:53Speaker 2: to prep his segment. I'm like, well, it doesn't really matter.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I'm like, you know, we're like, bring year old man,
- 2:56Speaker 2: we'll come and sit there.
- 2:57Speaker 3: So I just realized what we've just done that we're
- 3:03Speaker 3: gonna have one young man and three dads.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we're gonna dad this guy. He needs a haircut,
- 3:08Speaker 2: by the way, ja he does, and we're gonna talk
- 3:14Speaker 2: to him about it right in front of his old man. Yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 2: and I'm gonna tell you they're they're listen real quick. Okay, Look,
- 3:22Speaker 2: people have given my kids great advice, but there are
- 3:26Speaker 2: people who aren't me or their mother have given my
- 3:29Speaker 2: kids great advice. There is nothing wrong with your child
- 3:34Speaker 2: receiving great advice from another parent, and I think this
- 3:37Speaker 2: is just a good thing. Look, I've gotten great advice
- 3:39Speaker 2: from other parents as well. Look, everybody in our audience
- 3:42Speaker 2: has had that friend or a cousin or whatever the
- 3:45Speaker 2: case may be, a friend mostly where their parents kind
- 3:48Speaker 2: of slid into the parent role. I mean, trust me
- 3:51Speaker 2: and I'll tell you. I know that.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Oh, I know it too. I've had my friend's parents
- 3:54Speaker 3: do it as well. Yay Friday night, Hey get a haircuts.
- 4:02Speaker 2: He knows he needs one. Come on, you can barely
- 4:04Speaker 2: see his eyes. It's that would it would drive me nuts,
- 4:09Speaker 2: would drive me nuts. Oh my god. Looking at it
- 4:12Speaker 2: when he was there last week, I'm like, oh god, buddy,
- 4:15Speaker 2: I just want to, like, like when you were a son,
- 4:17Speaker 2: I just wanted to lick my fingers and then smack
- 4:19Speaker 2: it back jealousy. Oh no, no, no, I can't say. There's
- 4:22Speaker 2: not a tiny bit of Chelsea in there.
- 4:25Speaker 4: As I mentioned yesterday, there's no natural hair color in
- 4:29Speaker 4: my house except for my own and the cat.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and the.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Cats maybe, But you know, think that's the same thing
- 4:35Speaker 4: for my place as will Yeah, but that that would
- 4:37Speaker 4: annoy me, Just that flop in your face. Come on
- 4:41Speaker 4: it when my son, when my son was like twelve,
- 4:43Speaker 4: and the big the big thing sweep across I think
- 4:47Speaker 4: they called it back in the day, they called it
- 4:49Speaker 4: a pooh Remember, like back in the nineties, where you
- 4:51Speaker 4: would cut the back of your head short, but the
- 4:53Speaker 4: front would be long and it would sweep across and
- 4:55Speaker 4: you'd only see one eye, you know, because you.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Were so emotionally and I was so heavy at thirteen
- 5:06Speaker 2: the pressure got too much. But that's like kind of
- 5:10Speaker 2: that's where he was at twelve years old. And every
- 5:12Speaker 2: time I saw him, like, pull your hairback and I'll
- 5:13Speaker 2: see your eyes. Are you high? Pull your hairback? Your eyes?
- 5:19Speaker 2: We're being called out nothing streams.
- 5:21Speaker 4: You're old, Like telling a young man with a good
- 5:23Speaker 4: head of hair to get a hair cut.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I know that's what I'm saying you guys, but you
- 5:27Speaker 3: can't wait to dad out.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Never said he didn't have a great head of hair.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And yes, being follically challenged, I do have a tonny
- 5:35Speaker 2: bit of envy. There's no question at all.
- 5:37Speaker 5: Uh huh.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Yeah. We'll talk to those guys a little bit later.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Actually fun though, that will be fun. We love both
- 5:41Speaker 2: of them, so that'll be great, you know.
- 5:43Speaker 3: And it goes to show what growing up around your
- 5:45Speaker 3: dad's industry, how that can kind of just throw osmosis
- 5:49Speaker 3: kind of prepare you to step into this role, because
- 5:52Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, Jaden is he's old school radio in
- 5:55Speaker 3: that way. He comes in more prepared than not. And
- 5:57Speaker 3: if he's not prepared. He's not going to waste your time.
- 5:59Speaker 2: And do that is a thing because I know Jack
- 6:01Speaker 2: has kids. I mean, my kids are girls, but I
- 6:04Speaker 2: do have a son. But but the my kids have
- 6:08Speaker 2: been around my career most of my life. Jack's kids
- 6:11Speaker 2: have been around his career most of his life, not
- 6:13Speaker 2: my I don't even think my kids listen to the station,
- 6:16Speaker 2: like I don't. They have no interest. It never even
- 6:19Speaker 2: dawned on them to go into this business at all,
- 6:22Speaker 2: not even a little.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Did you guys ever experience the Fraser effect what's up?
- 6:28Speaker 3: Where you'd come home from work or whatever and your
- 6:30Speaker 3: family or friends or somebody go, oh my god, did.
- 6:32Speaker 2: You hear what?
- 6:33Speaker 3: And you're like, yeah, no, actually, because I'm on the
- 6:35Speaker 3: air at the same time. You mean, like another person
- 6:39Speaker 3: said Fraser time he came in, Like the whole household
- 6:42Speaker 3: was like, oh my god, did you hear? And he
- 6:44Speaker 3: was like, oh no, technically I was also talking on.
- 6:47Speaker 2: My favorite thing. He's talking to people in my hometown,
- 6:50Speaker 2: My people in my hometown, my old friends will be like, hey,
- 6:52Speaker 2: he's still in there. I'm like doing it. They kind
- 6:57Speaker 2: of looked at it like a novelty job. Yeah, are
- 6:59Speaker 2: you still doing that? So having fun?
- 7:01Speaker 6: Yeah, that hobby, that radio thing, like it was a
- 7:05Speaker 6: radio job, like it.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Was a college job. I had to get through. How's
- 7:08Speaker 2: the print shop?
- 7:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, four O seven nine six four one.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Again you can always text us at seven seven zero
- 7:15Speaker 2: three one looking forward to whiskey of the week, looking
- 7:17Speaker 2: forward to Uh we did this last year if you'll remember,
- 7:21Speaker 2: the Florida Open Billiards Tournament's going to be happening out
- 7:23Speaker 2: there at Karee Burrow, uh or is it kree Broyal
- 7:26Speaker 2: jag Caree Brow. Yeah, Emily Fraser is going to call us.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I think she called us last year and man billiards
- 7:31Speaker 2: because we talked about it earlier this week. You know,
- 7:33Speaker 2: billiards is actually kind of having a bit of a
- 7:35Speaker 2: blow up right now. I don't our a blow up,
- 7:37Speaker 2: is you know, it's becoming very popular again and I
- 7:41Speaker 2: don't know, because it's inexpensive to shoot pool, right, you
- 7:44Speaker 2: can go and shoot pool all night long for like
- 7:46Speaker 2: twenty five dollars.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Dude, I'm going to go out on a limb and
- 7:49Speaker 3: say air conditioning, air conditioning and the likelihood of blowing
- 7:53Speaker 3: your achilles, because again, what a lot of people found
- 7:57Speaker 3: out with pickleball, is that maybe it's not as intense
- 7:59Speaker 3: as ten this, but I mean Candice richest husband.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the it's the it's the quick stops and
- 8:05Speaker 2: starts exactly.
- 8:06Speaker 3: So more emergency room doctors were seeing middle aged folks
- 8:09Speaker 3: coming in with blown acls and achilles.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I'm glad I dodged that from playing pickleball.
- 8:15Speaker 3: So maybe the billiards is an option to still do
- 8:17Speaker 3: something competitive.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but maybe not quite. You go to La Got
- 8:21Speaker 2: a sunset trip, it's like t shirt shop, bong chop,
- 8:23Speaker 2: bok chop, whiskey shop, whiskey shop, bomb chop. When you
- 8:25Speaker 2: go to the villages, it's orthopedic, orthopedic or the pedic,
- 8:30Speaker 2: like these surgeons that they were making it like, although
- 8:32Speaker 2: you know the rich dudes in the villages, they're all
- 8:34Speaker 2: the lambaus are orthopedic surgeons.
- 8:37Speaker 4: He was gonna tell you. When I was up there,
- 8:39Speaker 4: my wife was singing there. I went out with her.
- 8:41Speaker 4: It was our anniversary. I'm watching nursing lady sits down
- 8:44Speaker 4: next to me. She has casts on her like lower
- 8:47Speaker 4: arm right up to the elbow, and uh, I go,
- 8:52Speaker 4: how did you do that? She guys are a little
- 8:54Speaker 4: pick a ball. Oh yeah, she and.
- 8:57Speaker 2: She only moved here earlier this year, but she goes,
- 9:00Speaker 2: I love it. I can't wait to get back. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 2: they can't. But billiards is blowing up, and I think
- 9:05Speaker 2: all those things come into play. You know. It's like bowling.
- 9:07Speaker 2: You can drink when you do it right, you can
- 9:09Speaker 2: jew pole. It's fun, it's competitive, and by the way,
- 9:12Speaker 2: you don't really have to have a special skill set
- 9:15Speaker 2: to do it. You don't have to be strong, you
- 9:16Speaker 2: don't have to be fast, you don't have to be
- 9:18Speaker 2: any of those things. And you can chew pull. It's
- 9:20Speaker 2: a lot of fun listening to good music. It's great.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Well you talked about that new billiard hall that's kind
- 9:24Speaker 3: of modeled after what top golf.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, where they project games down onto the felt
- 9:29Speaker 2: so you can do They actually even project like how
- 9:32Speaker 2: you because they use the same AI tracking system the
- 9:35Speaker 2: other big companies do that track the ball. So what
- 9:37Speaker 2: happens is when time you're turned to shoot, you track,
- 9:39Speaker 2: you track the ball. Who's keeping track exactly my license
- 9:43Speaker 2: plate my ninth bowl. But it shows you the path
- 9:46Speaker 2: of how you shoot, so it kind of teaches you
- 9:48Speaker 2: how to play the game a little better as you
- 9:50Speaker 2: do it. But we'll talk to her today because the
- 9:52Speaker 2: big tournament's coming up this weekend. Uh, pick the porn today,
- 9:55Speaker 2: and of course we will do Sinker Sale and Edward's
- 9:57Speaker 2: only a lot of fun and then the Bourbot.
- 9:58Speaker 3: I wonder if we're gonna be like last week, we're
- 10:00Speaker 3: gonna get just a hairshy of the I love you man.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I'm gonna have a little bit before we get.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Into Oh there's Jack, Come on, Jimmy, go ahead. Jack's
- 10:09Speaker 3: already got his glass.
- 10:10Speaker 2: And Jack didn't hit the bottle in front of me
- 10:12Speaker 2: because I thought it was a pretty bottle.
- 10:15Speaker 3: It was funny when I saw him in the kitchen
- 10:16Speaker 3: before the show. I'm like, oh, oh, you're just grabbing
- 10:18Speaker 3: the glasses.
- 10:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 2: No, He's like, put some ice in that bend. I
- 10:21Speaker 2: gotta tell you a little bit later in the program.
- 10:23Speaker 2: We have a topic today. I gotta tell you. You know,
- 10:26Speaker 2: when you write these kind of shows or whatever, when
- 10:28Speaker 2: you kind of look for stuff to talk about, the
- 10:29Speaker 2: list thing is very easy to do. It's literally behind
- 10:32Speaker 2: the scene information there. It's considered a bit of a
- 10:34Speaker 2: crutch in this business because it's so easy to do, right,
- 10:38Speaker 2: But some of them are fascinating. I don't adhere to that.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I think I think they're fascinating. I saw one today
- 10:44Speaker 2: that I have to talk about that i've I've never
- 10:46Speaker 2: heard in the story does not explain the phenomenon, It
- 10:51Speaker 2: doesn't do it. But it's a cost of something that's
- 10:53Speaker 2: happening in America right now. And of course, like we're
- 10:55Speaker 2: inundated with increases and everything from gas to eggs, to
- 10:59Speaker 2: you know, to pepper recently, yeah, Pepper's vegetables whatever. Right, Yeah,
- 11:05Speaker 2: but this one is way different. I bet if I
- 11:07Speaker 2: gave you some guesses, it would be hard to pick.
- 11:09Speaker 2: But I read two stories that are associated with this topic,
- 11:13Speaker 2: and not one of them explain why. So I'm going
- 11:16Speaker 2: to try to have everybody trying to figure out why
- 11:19Speaker 2: this particular thing is is expensive in these particular cities.
- 11:23Speaker 2: So we'll do that a little bit later as well.
- 11:24Speaker 2: All right, well that sounds good. All right. What do
- 11:26Speaker 2: you have for news today, young ladies?
- 11:27Speaker 3: Well, some Orange County residents they're going to see their
- 11:30Speaker 3: taxes go up. This next story is pretty cool. Noah
- 11:34Speaker 3: is using sharks to track hurricanes. What and a huge
- 11:39Speaker 3: piece of American space junk is about to slam into
- 11:42Speaker 3: the moon.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Wow.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Really that's literally NASA saying, hold my beer.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I think a Bruce Willis movie.
- 11:48Speaker 3: But we're going to talk about that and more coming
- 11:50Speaker 3: up next during JCS news.
- 11:51Speaker 2: You gotta take a little break. Don't forget your three
- 11:54Speaker 2: o'clock keyword is new New. Go to Real Radio doutfim
- 11:58Speaker 2: and send that out for your chance at a thousand miles.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Back with Deb's news, and we'll continue with the Jim
- 12:02Speaker 2: Colbert Show.
- 12:11Speaker 7: Call the crew.
- 12:15Speaker 8: You know check, you know those who do fall and
- 12:20Speaker 8: to day we raise Beard Avocado Day. I don't know
- 12:24Speaker 8: about you, but every time I think of avocados, I've
- 12:27Speaker 8: been a h O house or in California gold I
- 12:32Speaker 8: never ever saw a dog eat a cavocado before.
- 12:36Speaker 2: That's Miazing No New is your freelock, Heyward n e W.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Go to Real Radio dot them and send that away
- 12:48Speaker 2: for your chance at one thousand bucks new. That is
- 12:51Speaker 2: the word. Let's get a winter today before we get
- 12:53Speaker 2: out here, have a banner day. Are a week here
- 12:57Speaker 2: at Real Radio when cavocado next week's last week? Right,
- 13:01Speaker 2: Jack yep, Vinnie, As we can't for sure, welcome back.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I'm Jim. Jack is with us as well, and dead
- 13:09Speaker 2: has your news.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It's time for JCS new Morris.
- 13:15Speaker 9: Wow, this guy got a Chrish name on everything.
- 13:17Speaker 5: It's in my contracted here's the news on the Jim
- 13:20Speaker 5: Colberg Show.
- 13:22Speaker 3: And JCS news is brought to you by that mortgage guy.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Don give him a listen tomorrow morning when he's host
- 13:28Speaker 3: of the Home Loans radio show. All right, some like
- 13:31Speaker 3: I said, Orange County residents are going to see their
- 13:33Speaker 3: taxes go up, but not as much as originally planned.
- 13:36Speaker 3: The Apapca City Commission voted yesterday to raise property taxes
- 13:40Speaker 3: by ten percent. It could have been worse, though, as
- 13:42Speaker 3: they also discussed even bigger hikes between like seventeen and
- 13:46Speaker 3: twenty two percent. The ten percent increase is expected to
- 13:50Speaker 3: bring in over two million dollars for the city. Their
- 13:53Speaker 3: original estimate had said over six and a half million
- 13:56Speaker 3: the ten percent. Anything over ten percent the state would
- 13:59Speaker 3: have acquired a unanimous vote. The County Commission or city commission, rather,
- 14:04Speaker 3: knowing they had a loan holdout vote, went for the
- 14:07Speaker 3: ten percent. Because that didn't require unanimous vote, they were
- 14:10Speaker 3: able to get a super majority of four to one.
- 14:13Speaker 3: In the meantime, a project to widen the Florida Turnpike
- 14:17Speaker 3: in Osciola County is the subject of a lawsuit. I've
- 14:20Speaker 3: seen this story actually in a couple of local news stations.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Casimmey's Darcy Combs filed suit last week against the contractor
- 14:27Speaker 3: working on the project.
- 14:28Speaker 2: She claims the j R.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Davis construction company left her home covered in filth and
- 14:34Speaker 3: the noise and bright lights have made her home uninhabitable. Combs,
- 14:38Speaker 3: you refused to pay rent the last couple of months
- 14:40Speaker 3: on her home in Ponderosa Mobile Home Park, and yesterday
- 14:44Speaker 3: she started moving out. She's asking for over fifty thousand
- 14:48Speaker 3: dollars in damages, and she's asking a judge to force
- 14:51Speaker 3: the contractor to find her a temporary place to live
- 14:54Speaker 3: while the cases is decided.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 3: In the meantime, Come says she's going to stay with
- 15:03Speaker 3: a friend, and she tells New six listen, she'd rather
- 15:05Speaker 3: sleep and breathe on someone else's couch than lay in
- 15:09Speaker 3: her own dirty bed. Damn dude, because the dust from
- 15:12Speaker 3: the construction, that's just it is. You know, Like I said,
- 15:16Speaker 3: a lot of are some local news stations have gone
- 15:19Speaker 3: out and interviewed residents or are like just wipe their
- 15:21Speaker 3: finger up the side of the sighting or inside on
- 15:23Speaker 3: their windows or windows sills, and they say, I could clean.
- 15:26Speaker 2: This an hour ago.
- 15:28Speaker 10: Wow.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Really, and it's going to be just this dirty. And
- 15:31Speaker 3: then the bright construction lights that are on all night
- 15:34Speaker 3: because it's right next to the local home park, so
- 15:37Speaker 3: there's no there's no sound wall. The barely the tree
- 15:40Speaker 3: stand that is there isn't blocking out the construction noise.
- 15:43Speaker 3: And of course this is the Florida Turnpike, so this
- 15:45Speaker 3: is heavy construction equipment, cement trucks going all hours of
- 15:49Speaker 3: the day and night. And the residents there are just like, man,
- 15:51Speaker 3: we cannot live like this.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Wow. How long is that project supposed to last? There?
- 15:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, definitely a highway project.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I would say for at least another couple of years
- 16:03Speaker 3: at least. All right, Oh, I know, if anyone is
- 16:07Speaker 3: going to be so pleased to hear these next two stories,
- 16:10Speaker 3: it's probably gonna be you. Okay, I do mean you. Well,
- 16:14Speaker 3: Jack is going to get mad as well. Okay, we
- 16:19Speaker 3: being angry late on a Friday afternoon, Oh of course,
- 16:22Speaker 3: of course, Hey, yeah, put it close to you for
- 16:26Speaker 3: these next two stories.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead, get yourself a little Yeah.
- 16:35Speaker 3: I think that should be the requirement now whenever we
- 16:38Speaker 3: do stories that are going to frost your flakes, we
- 16:40Speaker 3: have a break glass in case of emergency still water,
- 16:46Speaker 3: all right. The Gainesville Police Department is facing criticism over
- 16:49Speaker 3: a policy regarding transgender suspects. Attorney General Jamesthmeyer said yesterday
- 16:55Speaker 3: allowing men who identify as women to request searches by
- 16:59Speaker 3: female office may violate the Florida Civil Rights Act.
- 17:05Speaker 2: What what he says, It.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Prioritizes gender ideology over offers of safety, and he's asking
- 17:14Speaker 3: the GPD to rescind the policy by August fifteenth to
- 17:18Speaker 3: avoid legal action. All right, see that bourbon health.
- 17:23Speaker 2: A little bit, Yeah, yeah, yeah, Way you take a
- 17:26Speaker 2: tip and then you just go whatever, dude, Yeah, exactly,
- 17:29Speaker 2: will you do that? Whatever?
- 17:31Speaker 10: Well.
- 17:32Speaker 3: In the meantime, Florida's Attorney General is also raising concerns
- 17:35Speaker 3: of her vaccine policies at some Catholic schools, saying they
- 17:38Speaker 3: may be violating state law.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Again.
- 17:41Speaker 3: James uth Myers as he sent a letter to the
- 17:43Speaker 3: Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops after learning some schools don't
- 17:47Speaker 3: grant religious Exemptionsthmeyer argues Florida law requires both public and
- 17:52Speaker 3: private schools to honor vaccine exemptions when requested by parents,
- 17:56Speaker 3: and says schools that don't comply could put state scholars
- 18:00Speaker 3: ship and boucher funding at risk. The Florida Conference of
- 18:03Speaker 3: Catholic Bishops has not publicly responded to the letter.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Wow you want to take another ship? No? No, no, no.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Four? All right, speaking to school you guys, can you
- 18:15Speaker 3: believe it? Well, tomorrow is already August first? What so
- 18:19Speaker 3: most here? I think it's still twenty twenty six, But
- 18:22Speaker 3: I don't want to slowed down freaking enough to find out.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Oh my god, So that means most kids in central
- 18:27Speaker 3: Florida will be going back to school in nine days?
- 18:29Speaker 2: Wow? Can you believe it? Nine days? Can you hear
- 18:33Speaker 2: the counting down from the parents? I can't. You will close.
- 18:36Speaker 2: You can hear the counting down of the parents.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Let me tell you in ten days, you are going
- 18:40Speaker 4: to see pictures on social media? Yes of yeah. First, well,
- 18:44Speaker 4: the first you have the first day pictures yep. And
- 18:46Speaker 4: then you have the parents celebrating pictures the mombly. Yeah?
- 18:51Speaker 2: Is that the most? Is that the most? Like? When
- 18:54Speaker 2: we talk about Facebook or social media. I think that
- 18:57Speaker 2: particular trend is the most dominant, is it not when
- 19:00Speaker 2: kids go back to school? Like, I don't know that
- 19:02Speaker 2: anybody is safe from that. Like your feed is going
- 19:05Speaker 2: to have it in the back to school Yeah, yeah,
- 19:08Speaker 2: I like it or not. That's the one thing everybody
- 19:11Speaker 2: does for social I mean, for two days, your feet
- 19:14Speaker 2: is gonna be littered with poorly dressed kids in front
- 19:16Speaker 2: of the houses.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Weepy moms or happy moms.
- 19:21Speaker 2: It's super happy moms.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Well listen, we are you know, everyone is facing higher
- 19:25Speaker 3: costs on everything, so whenever you can get a break
- 19:27Speaker 3: at help. So the Orange County Sheriff's Office is hosting
- 19:29Speaker 3: a back to school bash. The event is going to
- 19:32Speaker 3: take place at the Sheriff's office headquarters tomorrow, August first.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Students are going to get free backpacks and school supplies.
- 19:39Speaker 3: They'll also be treated to the mobile video game theater.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, an ice cream truck, music games, and prizes.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Sounds like a fun day. Yard supplies will be handed
- 19:51Speaker 3: out on a first come, first serve base. Very cool,
- 19:54Speaker 3: all right. A US Postal Service worker is accused of
- 19:58Speaker 3: stealing a winning lottery ticket from the mail and cashing
- 20:03Speaker 3: it in.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And you know why I think this is so insidious.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I saw this today, like right before we came on
- 20:07Speaker 2: the air, Like, would you guys agree when it comes
- 20:10Speaker 2: to government workers or officials that the postal service workers
- 20:13Speaker 2: are some of the most trusted, if not the most trusted,
- 20:16Speaker 2: absolutely all of our government entity workers.
- 20:19Speaker 3: That's why it hurts so much when you hear about
- 20:21Speaker 3: them stealing mail and throwing it away or you know,
- 20:24Speaker 3: because especially if you ever been waiting for, you know,
- 20:27Speaker 3: an important piece of mail, right yeah, I mean it's.
- 20:30Speaker 2: And what sucks is you could understand rolling the career
- 20:33Speaker 2: dice for like, you know, fifty sixty eighty one hundred
- 20:36Speaker 2: thousand dollars. It wasn't even close to that.
- 20:39Speaker 3: I actually I'm glad because I don't know the amount,
- 20:41Speaker 3: and all the stories I read didn't tell me. But
- 20:43Speaker 3: Lakeasha Lockhart was arrested on July twenty third following a
- 20:46Speaker 3: joint investigation. So the lottery player reported that the winning
- 20:50Speaker 3: Pick four ticket never arrived at its destination, right, so
- 20:53Speaker 3: probably mailed it on this way to Tallahassee. So it
- 20:56Speaker 3: was traced to a Florida Lottery office in Miami, where
- 20:59Speaker 3: it had been redeemed. The Lockhart faces multiple charges, including
- 21:04Speaker 3: grand theft and mail theft. The case will be prosecuted
- 21:08Speaker 3: separately since the offenses occurred in multiple judicial circuits.
- 21:12Speaker 2: How much do you think it was?
- 21:14Speaker 3: You said it wasn't very I'm gonna go with what
- 21:16Speaker 3: four thousand?
- 21:17Speaker 4: What do you think, jack enough where you have to
- 21:20Speaker 4: mail it in? Yeah, I'll say ten thousand dollars. Yeah,
- 21:23Speaker 4: I think it was twenty six hundred dollars is what
- 21:26Speaker 4: I think it was.
- 21:26Speaker 2: And now she's going to go to prison. Well, she's
- 21:28Speaker 2: gonna go to jail, She's gonna lose her job. The
- 21:30Speaker 2: thing is losing your job there, I think is the
- 21:32Speaker 2: bigger deal. Jail time is one thing that losing a
- 21:34Speaker 2: government job like that or h Yeah you, I mean
- 21:38Speaker 2: you have to do something like this to get fired,
- 21:40Speaker 2: and why would you want to do that. I mean,
- 21:42Speaker 2: it's like one of the only things you could do
- 21:44Speaker 2: to get fired from this job, as you did it
- 21:46Speaker 2: and now over twenty six hundred dollars.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Well, A Olympic sprinter Shikari Richardson is taking a plea
- 21:54Speaker 3: deal in her super speeder case in Orlando. The two
- 21:56Speaker 3: time Olympic track and Field medalist was pulled over for
- 21:59Speaker 3: driving over one hundred miles per hour in January. She
- 22:02Speaker 3: was taking to jail under Florida Super Speeder Law and
- 22:05Speaker 3: posted bonds soon after. As part of the agreement, Richardson
- 22:08Speaker 3: must pay fines and complete an aggressive driving course. All right,
- 22:12Speaker 3: The Florida Department of Corrections is offering a new one
- 22:16Speaker 3: thousand dollars hiring bonus for correctional officers at thirteen state prisons,
- 22:21Speaker 3: really pending final approval. And as you can imagine, so
- 22:24Speaker 3: many of these are up in North Florida, where it's
- 22:26Speaker 3: already so economically depressed. An extra one thousand dollars that
- 22:29Speaker 3: would help a lot.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, for sure. You know, my father in law
- 22:32Speaker 2: just became is now in the process of becoming a
- 22:35Speaker 2: chaplain for the Mississippi State Penitentiary system. Oh wow. They
- 22:39Speaker 2: moved up there, and he was a chaplain here in
- 22:40Speaker 2: Orlando and in the area over in Daytona for a while.
- 22:43Speaker 2: And I was talking to my mother in law today
- 22:45Speaker 2: because she's in town for my wife's birthday, and we
- 22:47Speaker 2: were talking this morning, and she says, the vetting process
- 22:50Speaker 2: to become a chaplain in a state penitentiary is so unbelievable,
- 22:56Speaker 2: Like they're doing background checks on me, they're doing background
- 22:59Speaker 2: checks on my wife, doing background checks on people like
- 23:01Speaker 2: that are just close to us, Like oh yeah, It's
- 23:03Speaker 2: like they basically went to his Facebook page and went
- 23:05Speaker 2: to his friends list and just called everybody, okay, good,
- 23:08Speaker 2: I'm not on his page. Yeah yeah, yeah. Make sure
- 23:10Speaker 2: you're not part of a cartel and you sneak into
- 23:13Speaker 2: that perison.
- 23:14Speaker 5: Y sure is.
- 23:15Speaker 3: The incentive adds to an existing five thousand dollars retention
- 23:19Speaker 3: bonus at some facilities, including Appalachi, Taylor, Liberty, and Hamilton.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Officials say the new bonus is designed to help recruit
- 23:27Speaker 3: more people into the state's prison system. And when you
- 23:30Speaker 3: can say it's harder for the state prisons to hang
- 23:32Speaker 3: on to these folks than it is for them to
- 23:34Speaker 3: just go work at Walmart, Yeah, yeah, which is it's
- 23:36Speaker 3: so much easier, all right. A federal trial is underway
- 23:39Speaker 3: for a Florida Keys parasailing boat captain charged with voluntary
- 23:44Speaker 3: manslaughter and siemens manslaughter.
- 23:47Speaker 2: You'll remember this story.
- 23:48Speaker 3: With a storm coming in in May of twenty twenty two,
- 23:51Speaker 3: he cut the toe line a woman and her two children,
- 23:57Speaker 3: and the out of control, Harness ended up slamming into
- 24:00Speaker 3: a bridge. The mother ended up being killed, the kids
- 24:04Speaker 3: were hurt. Daniel Couch faces up to fifteen years in
- 24:07Speaker 3: prison on the voluntary manslaughter charge and ten for the
- 24:12Speaker 3: semens manslaughter I would love because this is such a
- 24:15Speaker 3: specialized area of law. When you look at how many
- 24:19Speaker 3: people can actually practice or do practice maritime law, it's
- 24:23Speaker 3: very very few, and there's many, not many, And if
- 24:26Speaker 3: there are any, you're going to find them in Florida.
- 24:28Speaker 2: If you remember when we did this story before, I
- 24:30Speaker 2: did a search online and I think there was one, right,
- 24:34Speaker 2: there was one guy in all of Florida that does
- 24:38Speaker 2: maritime law. Because Glenn was telling us how specialized it was.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Because again, you wouldn't think that there would be a
- 24:43Speaker 3: voluntary manslaughter charge that you could get fifteen years in prison,
- 24:47Speaker 3: and then a semens manslaughter charge that would attack on
- 24:50Speaker 3: another ten years. So wow, that's I'm really fascinated by that.
- 24:55Speaker 3: But he's also charged in state court for felony negligent manslaughter,
- 25:00Speaker 3: so everyone's coming after it.
- 25:01Speaker 2: That's just the wildest conclusion right now, storm coming. I'm
- 25:06Speaker 2: pulling a family. What's the only answer, right Let's don't
- 25:08Speaker 2: slow down and have them come down. Let's cut them
- 25:10Speaker 2: free and all ass and hope they make it out okay,
- 25:12Speaker 2: and then they don't slam into a concrete.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Bridge or sink while they're harnessed together. I mean nothing
- 25:18Speaker 3: about that says he should have been operating one of
- 25:20Speaker 3: those kinds of businesses, all right. A resident of Palm
- 25:23Speaker 3: Beach County has been confirmed to have died from flesh
- 25:25Speaker 3: eating bacteria. The Florida Department of Health has reported eleven
- 25:29Speaker 3: confirmed cases of vibriovnificus, the scientific name of the bacteria.
- 25:34Speaker 3: State officials haven't released any details about the person who
- 25:37Speaker 3: died or where they may have contracted the disease, but
- 25:40Speaker 3: this is the only death reported so far in Florida
- 25:42Speaker 3: from the eleven confirmed cases. The bacteria occurs naturally in
- 25:47Speaker 3: warm salt water and brackish water, you know, like anywhere
- 25:50Speaker 3: in Florida around this time of the year. People can
- 25:52Speaker 3: become infected by eating raw or undercook shellfish, particularly oysters.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Yes, or when an.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Open wound or cut it excuse me comes into contact
- 26:02Speaker 3: with contaminated water. Is dog days soon, I believe, so, yeah,
- 26:07Speaker 3: that's uh dog.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Days when you're July third to August eleven, so we're
- 26:11Speaker 2: in the middle of dog We're in dog days right
- 26:13Speaker 2: now the center, right, yeah.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Right, exactly, uh yeah, from July third to August eleventh
- 26:20Speaker 3: each year, so dog days into a couple of weeks. Okay, good.
- 26:24Speaker 3: So during this time, don't do anything. Don't do anything, seriously,
- 26:28Speaker 3: don't leave your house, don't take a bath, don't brush
- 26:30Speaker 3: your teeth. The heat's gonna kill you somehow. It's gonna
- 26:33Speaker 3: create some microbe or grow some funk eyes.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Or something somewhere.
- 26:36Speaker 11: All right.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Researchers at the University of Delaware and the National Oceanic
- 26:41Speaker 3: and Atmospheric Administration are tagging blue and mako sharks with
- 26:45Speaker 3: sensors to collect vital information about storm conditions in the
- 26:49Speaker 3: Atlantic Ocean.
- 26:51Speaker 12: You need something that kind of goes up and down
- 26:53Speaker 12: through the water columns to see how much sheet there
- 26:55Speaker 12: is in that water column that we basically can put
- 26:57Speaker 12: a specialized electronic tag that goes on there and it
- 27:00Speaker 12: collects all the kinds of data we need.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Marine ecologist Aaron Carlyle says the real time information about
- 27:06Speaker 3: ocean temperature, salinity levels, and the direction of currents helps
- 27:11Speaker 3: Noah predict the trajectory and power of the Atlantic hurricanes.
- 27:14Speaker 3: So prior to using tagged sharks, Noah deployed gliders to
- 27:18Speaker 3: the continental shelf to collect that data, but it was
- 27:21Speaker 3: really slow, it was really expensive, Carlisle said. Tagged sharks
- 27:26Speaker 3: can gather that information much more efficiently, quickly, and it's.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Free, probably more accurate as well, exactly.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Because they're moving with the water and in the water
- 27:34Speaker 3: instead of being stationary.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I also read today that the al Nino is so
- 27:38Speaker 2: strong this year that it's actually going to kind of
- 27:40Speaker 2: mix species throughout the oceans. You're going, other words, the
- 27:43Speaker 2: West coast is going to see animals they haven't seen
- 27:46Speaker 2: in a while, and the East coast is as well.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Because the way the water is warming in the currents,
- 27:51Speaker 2: the animals will migrate to that certain water temperature, and
- 27:54Speaker 2: those animals don't really show up in certain areas. So
- 27:56Speaker 2: you're going to see sharks and turtles and at banta
- 27:59Speaker 2: rays and rays that you don't really see in certain areas.
- 28:02Speaker 2: That's gonna be one freaky ocean party. Yeah you do.
- 28:09Speaker 3: I haven't seen you in this neighborhood before, but seriously, makeup.
- 28:15Speaker 2: There you go, thank you Joe done. Jack is like, yes,
- 28:19Speaker 2: I'll show you why they called me great. What we
- 28:22Speaker 2: already know why they call you great.
- 28:24Speaker 3: White Rabies continues to be a problem in Polk County.
- 28:28Speaker 3: The Sheriff's office announced yesterday it's confirmed a fifth case.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Really important if you like letting your cats outside, if
- 28:35Speaker 3: your dogs live outside. So testing confirmed a bat found
- 28:38Speaker 3: in Lakeland on Monday had rabies. Rabbes is the scariest
- 28:41Speaker 3: thing in the world, by the way, it really is.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Raby's is horrifying because because you have I don't know
- 28:47Speaker 2: if they still do it, but as a kid growing up,
- 28:49Speaker 2: it was a shot every day in the stomach and
- 28:52Speaker 2: to me that and as a kid, the thing I
- 28:54Speaker 2: feared most was shots, well, especially your belly button. The
- 28:58Speaker 2: myth we heard was it was twenty two shots at
- 29:01Speaker 2: one time.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Oh that's what I heard. And it all had to
- 29:03Speaker 3: be around your belly button.
- 29:04Speaker 2: All had to be around your belly button. And that's
- 29:06Speaker 2: the only way. And the thing is is like you
- 29:07Speaker 2: can't tell where hebes, Like they can't.
- 29:10Speaker 3: It's there's no symptoms to it. And by the time
- 29:13Speaker 3: symptoms show up, you're done. There's no way they can
- 29:16Speaker 3: treat you. In fact, there was a really tragic story
- 29:19Speaker 3: of a woman and her son who had found a
- 29:20Speaker 3: bat that was like caught inside the house and it
- 29:25Speaker 3: never scratched the little boy. It didn't bite the little
- 29:27Speaker 3: boy nothing, But so they didn't think that he had
- 29:30Speaker 3: been exposed to rabies.
- 29:32Speaker 10: He was.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Unfortunately, by the time they realized that there was nothing
- 29:35Speaker 3: they could do. So Sheriff Grady Judd says everyone should
- 29:39Speaker 3: stay alert, avoid with stray, contact with stray or wild animals,
- 29:43Speaker 3: especially if they're acting strangely, and if you do come
- 29:47Speaker 3: across an animal that may be rabid, just make sure
- 29:49Speaker 3: you call animal control. Got it all right, resident, Well,
- 29:53Speaker 3: we'll do this last story. A huge piece of American
- 29:55Speaker 3: space chunk is about to slam into the moon. Can
- 29:59Speaker 3: we not find another hobby?
- 30:03Speaker 2: So?
- 30:03Speaker 3: Astronomer Bill Gray has developed software for tracking near Earth
- 30:07Speaker 3: objects and has co author to study on a five
- 30:11Speaker 3: ton SpaceX rocket that was launched in January of twenty
- 30:14Speaker 3: twenty five. Gray says the upper stage of the discarded
- 30:18Speaker 3: Falcon nine rocket will collide with the Moon at a
- 30:21Speaker 3: speed of.
- 30:23Speaker 2: How many miles per hour? I think the thirty it's
- 30:27Speaker 2: usually like thirty. I'll go thirty four thousand miles an hour,
- 30:31Speaker 2: you know what the gravity and sixteen thousand miles an.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Hour fifty four hundred miles per hour, okay, fifty four
- 30:38Speaker 3: hundred in the early morning hour of an early morning
- 30:41Speaker 3: of August fifth. The lead author of the study says
- 30:44Speaker 3: he expects the collision to vaporize the rocket, cause a
- 30:48Speaker 3: flash of light, and create a fresh crater on the
- 30:51Speaker 3: lunar surface near the Einstein Crater on the western edge
- 30:55Speaker 3: of the visible Moon.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Have you guys ever YouTube that jet sled where they
- 31:00Speaker 2: they will jet sled stuff into that concrete wall and
- 31:03Speaker 2: the jet sled is going so fast you can barely
- 31:05Speaker 2: even see it. That thing's still only going like maybe
- 31:07Speaker 2: eight hundred miles an hour. The thing is going like
- 31:10Speaker 2: eight I'll show you during the break. Yeah. They they
- 31:13Speaker 2: do it for testing in some for something. But uh, yeah,
- 31:16Speaker 2: they run this. It's a jet motor on a sled.
- 31:18Speaker 2: They just slam it into a wall. It's it's mega guys.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I was gonna say that is peak guy stuff.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Do not let Elon Musk hear that, or you're gonna
- 31:29Speaker 3: now be able to get a jet engine with a
- 31:30Speaker 3: sled that will go with your flamethrower, which sounds like
- 31:33Speaker 3: pretty dope, and that concludes your JCS news.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Text does at seven seven zero three one you're three
- 31:46Speaker 2: o'clock keyword. You still have time, guys, it's new n
- 31:49Speaker 2: e W. Slide over to Real Radio FIM and send
- 31:53Speaker 2: that away for your chance at one thousand dollars back

- 32:06Speaker 2: time for another primetime kitchen here on Real Radio one
- 32:08Speaker 2: o four point one of the Jim Colber Show featuring

- 33:05Speaker 2: Fayaz carrotsy how things boss good Man?
- 33:13Speaker 5: We uh we spent some time at the cottage this
- 33:16Speaker 5: this week. At the cottage. What is the cottage? I
- 33:19Speaker 5: guess it's a very maybe it's a very Canadian thing.
- 33:22Speaker 5: But if you watch Heated Rivalry, uh you know, that's
- 33:26Speaker 5: the gay hockey show.
- 33:27Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no chance, no chance Jim is watching that.
- 33:31Speaker 2: That's the gay hockey show, right, uh Goki. Yet the
- 33:36Speaker 2: cottage at Getaway little.
- 33:39Speaker 5: House, it was usually on a lake, you can you know,
- 33:41Speaker 5: uh yeah yeah again back of Heated Rivalry reference. But yeah,
- 33:51Speaker 5: at the at the cottage, it was great. It was fun, glorious.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Now out of curiosity, I mean, uh, so you're in Toronto,
- 33:58Speaker 2: how far do you have to drive to get the
- 33:59Speaker 2: said cottage? And I'm sure that there's plenty of like outdoor.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I mean that's like it's rifle with it up there,
- 34:04Speaker 2: is it not?
- 34:04Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 34:05Speaker 5: Yeah, like just you go like an hour two hours
- 34:07Speaker 5: north of the city and yeah, there's a lot of lakeside.
- 34:10Speaker 5: So we went to a place called the Kauwortha's the
- 34:12Speaker 5: Kuwortha Lakes. It's a group of lakes, you know, great
- 34:15Speaker 5: for fishing and swimming and you know cottages.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, I have to ask a
- 34:20Speaker 2: question because our buddy, you know, uh uhs Brendan O'Connor,
- 34:23Speaker 2: told us that he was from Canada up there and
- 34:25Speaker 2: he would go up and this time of year in
- 34:27Speaker 2: the summer, the black flies were almost impossible to deal with.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Do you guys, do you guys deal with like those
- 34:31Speaker 2: mega black flies up there the summe year? Yeah? Absolutely.
- 34:34Speaker 5: And and Brendan he was from way up north, like
- 34:37Speaker 5: Sue Saint Marie like, oh wow, yeah, yeah, he was
- 34:40Speaker 5: closer to Minnesota really than Toronto. But yeah, you get
- 34:44Speaker 5: black flies, you got the horse flies. My brother in
- 34:46Speaker 5: law got bit really bad on the hands, swelled up
- 34:49Speaker 5: really big.
- 34:50Speaker 2: You know.
- 34:50Speaker 5: It's yeah, luckily I didn't, but you know, I went
- 34:53Speaker 5: into the water. They have this thing called uh, it's
- 34:55Speaker 5: some some kind of muscle. Okay, there's a there's a
- 34:58Speaker 5: muscle that'll cut up your legs, the bottom of my feet.
- 35:01Speaker 5: We're all cut up. And then there's also like this
- 35:03Speaker 5: weird little parasite, a snail parasite that will like go
- 35:08Speaker 5: into your skin. It feels like a thorn in your skin. Now,
- 35:11Speaker 5: you know it can't it's a parasite, but you're a human.
- 35:14Speaker 5: Beings can't be a host to that because it's you know,
- 35:16Speaker 5: they're looking for something like I don't know, Avian I
- 35:20Speaker 5: think is like where they survived. So yeah, so these
- 35:22Speaker 5: things are in our feet. And I was like, you know,
- 35:24Speaker 5: walking barefoot in the shallows, trying to get a boat
- 35:26Speaker 5: out there into the anyway, my feet are all hacked.
- 35:29Speaker 2: I show you, but I'd have to charge you. Hey, honey,
- 35:34Speaker 2: book Book is a trip to Canada. Make sure it's
- 35:37Speaker 2: near lake, you know with the death snails.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Yeah, get that Gaki cottage exactly.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Let's watch the Gaki and then we'll go playing the
- 35:47Speaker 2: snails all right. FAIA has caused us every week to
- 35:49Speaker 2: tell us what's good to eat and drink in Orlando.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Also sometimes some surprising openings and closings of restaurants. So
- 35:56Speaker 2: what say ye friend? Okay?
- 35:58Speaker 5: So Old Hearth Bread Company we talked about them opening
- 36:02Speaker 5: up soon in Ivanhoe Village.
- 36:04Speaker 2: I believe it. It is more Orange Avenue.
- 36:08Speaker 5: And you know, the thing with the Old Hard Bread
- 36:10Speaker 5: Company and Ivanho Village is it's going to have a
- 36:12Speaker 5: completely new name. So it's going to be called Rye Row.
- 36:17Speaker 5: And the owners there, Shannon and Janie Tlty, they figured
- 36:20Speaker 5: that a distinct name would give the shop its own
- 36:23Speaker 5: sort of unique personality.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Yeah, so Rye Row. Unfortunately, no Rye whiskey will be
- 36:28Speaker 2: sold there.
- 36:30Speaker 5: You will you will find pummer nickel and gingerbread and
- 36:34Speaker 5: other rye based things as well as all the breads
- 36:36Speaker 5: and pastries and cookies and tarts and cinnamon rolls and
- 36:39Speaker 5: all of that.
- 36:41Speaker 12: You know.
- 36:41Speaker 5: There were supposed to they were supposed to already be opened,
- 36:43Speaker 5: but they are still targeting a late summer opening, so
- 36:47Speaker 5: they're hopeful they will open.
- 36:49Speaker 2: I'm guessing next month. They'll be open next month. And
- 36:51Speaker 2: for people who aren't familiar with Old Heart. I mean,
- 36:53Speaker 2: if you go to any of the restaurants of note
- 36:55Speaker 2: in Orlando for many years, I mean, whether it be
- 36:58Speaker 2: your favorite burger joint, your favorite Italian spot, or whatever,
- 37:00Speaker 2: almost all of those people are resourcing or sourcing their
- 37:04Speaker 2: bread products from Old Heart. They are as legendary in
- 37:06Speaker 2: Orlando business as I can remember in the culinary world.
- 37:10Speaker 5: Yeah, any respectable restaurant in the city that you know
- 37:15Speaker 5: touts local and supporting local will serve Old Hearth bread
- 37:19Speaker 5: and pastries.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. All right, let's move on to the
- 37:23Speaker 2: Origin at Four Roots Farm. Yeah.
- 37:25Speaker 5: Origin at four this is like fresh fresh, fresh news.
- 37:29Speaker 5: Our friend Harry Pullapaka, he's been on Kitchen a few times, right, So,
- 37:32Speaker 5: Harry Pullippaka was the notable chef behind Cress Restaurant and
- 37:37Speaker 5: DeLand and now he's the senior culinary director of the
- 37:41Speaker 5: Four Roots Farm, which is in the packing district sort
- 37:43Speaker 5: of college park adjacent. Yeah, and it's run by John
- 37:47Speaker 5: Rivers of Four Roots Smokehouse fame, and Harry he is
- 37:51Speaker 5: now he's overseeing all the culinary programming at the farm
- 37:55Speaker 5: campus and he's going to be launching something called Origin,
- 37:58Speaker 5: which is an intimate five course meal. It'll feature other
- 38:03Speaker 5: notable chefs, it'll be it'll be just sixty people gathered
- 38:08Speaker 5: around a shared table at their very picturesque barn. They
- 38:11Speaker 5: have this picturesque red barn on the Urban Farm campus.
- 38:15Speaker 5: And it'll begin October first with Kevin Fonso. Kevin Fonzo,
- 38:19Speaker 5: of course, was a chef behind K Restaurant for many
- 38:21Speaker 5: years and early and now yeah, and he does a
- 38:24Speaker 5: lot to vola, which is like an Italian dinner at
- 38:26Speaker 5: the Emerald La Gas House.
- 38:27Speaker 2: They're also in College Park.
- 38:28Speaker 5: So October first will be Kevin Fonzo, November the twelfth
- 38:33Speaker 5: will be Wendy Lopez, the James Beer nominated chef behind
- 38:37Speaker 5: Reyes Vascalleia and Sparrow Wine Bar. And then December tenth
- 38:42Speaker 5: will be low Lalacon from Kaya.
- 38:44Speaker 2: So these are gonna be pretty like I think, very
- 38:46Speaker 2: popular dinners. It's gonna be when.
- 38:49Speaker 5: The weather is great in Orlando, October, November, December. It's
- 38:53Speaker 5: gonna feature great you know, some of our best chefs,
- 38:56Speaker 5: and Hariy will be there as well cooking. So get
- 38:59Speaker 5: your tickets now because I like these These will sell
- 39:01Speaker 5: out pretty quickly. Now they're not cheap. It's a I
- 39:03Speaker 5: believe it's one hundred and seventy five dollars. But you
- 39:06Speaker 5: know you're supporting the farm, you know, the farm, the
- 39:08Speaker 5: farm itself, this whole, the whole ethos behind the farm
- 39:11Speaker 5: is that, you know, they want to build healthier, more
- 39:14Speaker 5: sustainable food systems.
- 39:17Speaker 2: And they will about and they want to inject that
- 39:19Speaker 2: into cultures, fias. That's where they mean. I remember talking
- 39:21Speaker 2: to John about this when they started this whole thing,
- 39:23Speaker 2: When the whole idea of the Fors farm came up.
- 39:25Speaker 2: He wanted to change the culture of food in low
- 39:28Speaker 2: income areas and let people understand not only can they
- 39:31Speaker 2: get great food, you don't have to be in the
- 39:33Speaker 2: desert of you know, of that man or you can
- 39:36Speaker 2: do this. And Aria is like one of the most
- 39:38Speaker 2: brilliant dudes in the entire Central Florida area. I'll never
- 39:41Speaker 2: forget when he came into Ptka. He actually did it twice.
- 39:44Speaker 2: He needed this cashew like pesto thing. And to this
- 39:48Speaker 2: day I tell people about this unbelievable cashew pesto because
- 39:52Speaker 2: he does a lot of vegetable forward stuff, right.
- 39:54Speaker 5: He does, because I believe his wife is you know,
- 39:58Speaker 5: and here's a plant based so he and he was
- 40:02Speaker 5: also one of these people that you know, when you
- 40:04Speaker 5: go to the restaurants, you know, and you select the
- 40:06Speaker 5: vegetarian meal a lot of times again they're just you
- 40:09Speaker 5: know that they haven't really put a lot of thought
- 40:12Speaker 5: and effort into the into the vegetarian item. And he
- 40:15Speaker 5: he was also he was very much a stickler about that.
- 40:17Speaker 5: So uh yeah, so you know, being a healthier communities,
- 40:22Speaker 5: you know, food education, the food ways, as well as
- 40:26Speaker 5: like like you were saying, community engagement, especially amongst like
- 40:29Speaker 5: lower income areas.
- 40:30Speaker 2: So yeah, so the.
- 40:32Speaker 5: If you haven't, even if you haven't checked out the
- 40:34Speaker 5: Four Roots Farm campus, you should.
- 40:35Speaker 2: You should just pop by. They have a store there.
- 40:37Speaker 5: I used to get raw milk from there, and that's
- 40:40Speaker 5: when I used to drink raw milk.
- 40:41Speaker 2: That's another whole story.
- 40:42Speaker 5: Yeah, but yeah, you should definitely check him out because
- 40:46Speaker 5: they are it's a very cool sort of place and
- 40:49Speaker 5: it's a very uniquely Orlando.
- 40:50Speaker 2: It's cool to hear his name again, I haven't heard
- 40:51Speaker 2: his name in so long, you know. Not only on
- 40:53Speaker 2: top of being an unbelievable cook, this guy's like a
- 40:55Speaker 2: physics professor at Stetson or something like mathe medical math professor.
- 41:00Speaker 2: This has like a math genius on top of that,
- 41:03Speaker 2: and he's like the coolest guy. Man. He looks like
- 41:04Speaker 2: he should own some kind of uh like some kind
- 41:07Speaker 2: of winery in Spain. I mean that's exactly what he
- 41:09Speaker 2: looks like when when you meet him, like you expect
- 41:11Speaker 2: this guy to be. He's just kind of a cool dude. Man,
- 41:13Speaker 2: He's got a cool vibe about him. Anyway, let's cool.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Here his name, I heard his name in a minute,
- 41:16Speaker 2: yeah you know it.
- 41:17Speaker 5: Like so he sold a cress restaurant to a new
- 41:19Speaker 5: owners like getting two three years ago, and then he
- 41:22Speaker 5: retired from from teaching at Stetson, So I guess he's
- 41:25Speaker 5: got some time.
- 41:26Speaker 2: And yeah he's got to har Let's move on to
- 41:29Speaker 2: Ruse on Mills r E W S.
- 41:32Speaker 5: Ruse on Mills. This is going to be a new
- 41:35Speaker 5: swanky cocktail bar. I believe the address is thirteen twenty
- 41:39Speaker 5: two North Mills Avenue. And everything about this bar is
- 41:43Speaker 5: like the antithesis of what Wally's is on.
- 41:47Speaker 2: It's Wally's rich cousin. It's extremely rich one cousin.
- 41:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I think the cocktoo bar is going to be
- 41:55Speaker 5: inspired by all the like these high end lobby bars
- 42:00Speaker 5: of hotels around the world, so that like inspiration yeah,
- 42:03Speaker 5: and GDP Design build.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Those are the people who's done who they've done.
- 42:06Speaker 5: Like Tory Tory and the Mulgarn and numerous other places
- 42:09Speaker 5: around town, Golden Hour, you know, it goes on and on.
- 42:13Speaker 5: They're the ones that are going to be designing this uh,
- 42:15Speaker 5: this this bar, the there's going to be a refined,
- 42:20Speaker 5: intentional food menu, whatever the hell that means.
- 42:23Speaker 2: But it sounds very expensive.
- 42:25Speaker 5: I see many many dollars signs behind that kind of description,
- 42:28Speaker 5: and they're targeting they're targeting a late twenty twenty six
- 42:31Speaker 5: opening right there on Mills, kind of like across the
- 42:34Speaker 5: street from Wally's a little bit.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Yeah, well cool. I mean meals is blowing up. I
- 42:37Speaker 2: mean I think you could put any I think you
- 42:39Speaker 2: could serve a cockdown a cardboard box and draw a
- 42:41Speaker 2: hundred people there. Now that's the thing. That corridor is
- 42:44Speaker 2: just I mean, it's so unbelievable. It's like a it's
- 42:46Speaker 2: like money road for the culinary world right now. It is.
- 42:50Speaker 5: It's such a hotbed of like food and drink, right,
- 42:52Speaker 5: I love it.
- 42:53Speaker 2: It is very cool. Though, because it is one of
- 42:56Speaker 2: the only places in Orlando that that isn't riddled with
- 42:59Speaker 2: chain restaurants. You could park and literally hop from one
- 43:02Speaker 2: cool bar or a restaurant or eatery to the next.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Everything from Korean hot dogs to upper level Asian food
- 43:09Speaker 2: to uh just beautiful little bites of wagoo over at
- 43:13Speaker 2: over at Tory Torri. It's just it's a really cool spot,
- 43:15Speaker 2: you're right. And all price points too.
- 43:18Speaker 5: It's not like, you know, like Doctor Phillips for example,
- 43:20Speaker 5: where oh you got I'm gonna spend you know, a
- 43:22Speaker 5: fair chunk of money here on a night out. No, No,
- 43:24Speaker 5: it's like all price points. Yeah, which leads into the
- 43:28Speaker 5: next item, Jay Lucy's, which we talked about last week.
- 43:31Speaker 5: I said, Plant's the vegan burger joint there ten what
- 43:36Speaker 5: is the address, ten thirty North Mills Avenue. Look at
- 43:39Speaker 5: that Planty's closed. The vegan burger joint close. It was
- 43:42Speaker 5: sold to like a fan of the restaurant who bought
- 43:45Speaker 5: the concept and was going to move it to Arizona.
- 43:47Speaker 5: And in its place, I said, there's going to be
- 43:49Speaker 5: a grass fed burger joint called jay Lucy's. And jay
- 43:52Speaker 5: Lucy's is already open. They soft open today. They'll be
- 43:56Speaker 5: open from I believe eleven a m. Till eight pm
- 43:58Speaker 5: because still have some time to come out. Grassped burgers,
- 44:03Speaker 5: tallow fries. They're gonna have like really fun shakes.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Ye, so check them out if you couldn't just wait
- 44:09Speaker 2: for one second. Prize Jack, thank you so much for
- 44:11Speaker 2: pausing that photograph on that delicious looking burger. As I
- 44:15Speaker 2: sit over here and suffer. I appreciate that so much, buddy,
- 44:18Speaker 2: I really do.
- 44:18Speaker 4: That one picture is making me rethink my food plans
- 44:22Speaker 4: for tomorrow.
- 44:23Speaker 2: I'm about to lick that screen.
- 44:24Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you scroll if you're people watching on YouTube
- 44:28Speaker 5: at Jim Colbert Live. If you scroll, there's some videos there.
- 44:31Speaker 5: I'm actually cooking the burgers. But I believe, I believe
- 44:34Speaker 5: a single is eleven bucks and a double is fourteen,
- 44:37Speaker 5: and if you add bacon maybe at sixteen something like that.
- 44:40Speaker 5: The fries are like four bucks. They have fun shakes
- 44:42Speaker 5: like strawberry cheesecake and cookies and cream and stuff like that.
- 44:46Speaker 2: So sounds good, man, sounds good. That's a that's that's
- 44:49Speaker 2: a cheat spot right there for me these days. Yeah,
- 44:53Speaker 2: all right, let's ended up with a Mills Summer lu
- 44:55Speaker 2: Al Night Market more Meals fifty stuff.
- 44:58Speaker 5: Yeah, so Mills Summer lu Al Night Market today happens
- 45:01Speaker 5: to be Mills Markets two year anniversary and they're celebrating
- 45:05Speaker 5: with this luau. It's gonna be like Tropical inspired. They'll uh,
- 45:10Speaker 5: you know, they'll have all you can eat food, they'll
- 45:12Speaker 5: have a live DJ games Island Vibes.
- 45:16Speaker 2: I believe.
- 45:16Speaker 5: There's two You have to purchase tickets. There's sixty bucks.
- 45:19Speaker 5: You can purchase the five thirty or seven thirty seating.
- 45:23Speaker 2: Seating.
- 45:23Speaker 5: It's not no one's seating sitting there. Everyone's just walking around,
- 45:26Speaker 5: but you have to purchase tickets. There's sixty bucks. It's
- 45:29Speaker 5: all you can eat street food again. Like I said,
- 45:32Speaker 5: DJ's there'll be a bunch of local vendors there and
- 45:34Speaker 5: if you're watching on YouTube live right now, you'll see
- 45:37Speaker 5: all the vendors and the and the food purveyors there.
- 45:40Speaker 5: The Top Chef Season three winner Hung Win is gonna
- 45:44Speaker 5: he's gonna be uh, you'll have his Baddy Bird pop
- 45:49Speaker 5: up there. I mean, I mean his that fried chicken
- 45:51Speaker 5: is incredible. So yeah, if you're not doing anything, they'll

- 47:30Speaker 13: And you know, while I have friends in law enforcement
- 47:33Speaker 13: and you know they're more active during the summertimes, but
- 47:36Speaker 13: these kids got to get back to the bucks. This
- 47:39Speaker 13: vermin needs to get off the street.
- 47:43Speaker 9: In our neighborhood's chill.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Helloa, Happy Friday. Cover the company's concrete mic Ey Concrete
- 47:51Speaker 2: mic Man.
- 47:51Speaker 14: My dad he was losing his hair by thirty. By
- 47:55Speaker 14: the time he was thirty, I was sixteen and had
- 47:57Speaker 14: long hair. I was in my heavy metal, hardcore, heavy
- 48:01Speaker 14: metal phase of life. And he offered me one hundred
- 48:03Speaker 14: bucks back in the mid nineties to cut my hair,
- 48:06Speaker 14: and I absolutely refused.
- 48:08Speaker 2: And then I started.
- 48:09Speaker 14: Bullying him because he was going bald. It was just
- 48:11Speaker 14: mad because I had more hair than him.
- 48:15Speaker 5: How to have a smoking hot body in South Florida
- 48:18Speaker 5: Step number one, walk out the front door.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Man. I thought you were gonna give me more details
- 48:26Speaker 2: than that. Dad jokes. All right, your four o'clock, he
- 48:29Speaker 2: were just credit cre d it. Go to real radio
- 48:33Speaker 2: out of him and send that off for your chance
- 48:34Speaker 2: in a thousand bucks credit. Guys, that is your fork
- 48:38Speaker 2: like you were. Good luck. We hope you win. I'm Jim.
- 48:40Speaker 2: There's deb hello Jakes here as well. Y. All right,
- 48:44Speaker 2: so I started off the show telling you, guys, I
- 48:45Speaker 2: had one of these lists that I could not figure out.
- 48:47Speaker 2: As matter of fact, not only did I read the
- 48:49Speaker 2: original story, I went and found a story from another
- 48:51Speaker 2: news provider to read that to see if they ever
- 48:55Speaker 2: they ever said why what this is is now? The
- 48:58Speaker 2: other story actually agreed that that's the case. You know
- 49:00Speaker 2: that what the original story said was true, It just
- 49:03Speaker 2: never really gave you a reason why. So let's figure
- 49:06Speaker 2: this out today. All right, okay, right, So this is
- 49:10Speaker 2: a wallet hub, this is a wall, this is a
- 49:13Speaker 2: wallet hub pool. And they basically said, I wonder what
- 49:19Speaker 2: cities that this is the most expensive in this particular
- 49:25Speaker 2: thing that you buy is the most expensive in this
- 49:29Speaker 2: city or these cities? It gives ten, but this is
- 49:31Speaker 2: the number one city? Is it a service? And for
- 49:33Speaker 2: the life of me, when you hear the city, you're
- 49:36Speaker 2: gonna be puzzled, and when you hear the item, you're
- 49:38Speaker 2: gonna be puzzled. And you're even more puzzled when they
- 49:41Speaker 2: don't even tell you why that is. So we are
- 49:44Speaker 2: some smart people. We have a very smart audience, and
- 49:46Speaker 2: I want to see if it can come up with
- 49:48Speaker 2: a logical reason why this is the case? What city? Well,
- 49:52Speaker 2: first thing, what do you think it is? Debass? Is
- 49:55Speaker 2: it a service? It's not a service. It's a thing
- 49:57Speaker 2: that you encounter daily. Is it a food product? It
- 50:00Speaker 2: is not a food product.
- 50:02Speaker 3: It's something you encounter.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Yeah, something you use on a daily basis that you
- 50:07Speaker 2: use You will not leave your house without this phone. No,
- 50:12Speaker 2: you will not leave your house without it. Oh, let
- 50:15Speaker 2: me try phone. No keys, No you are it could
- 50:23Speaker 2: be illegal if you leave your house without it. License.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, yeah, driver's license, clothes, oh.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Okay, So check this out. Okay, So they're talking about
- 50:33Speaker 2: these are the cities that have the most expensive clothes
- 50:37Speaker 2: where you when you go to buy clothes, they're more
- 50:39Speaker 2: expensive than these cities than any I'll give each of
- 50:43Speaker 2: you one guess, because you would never if I let
- 50:45Speaker 2: you guess until the end of time, you would probably
- 50:49Speaker 2: never guess it because nothing in the world says this
- 50:52Speaker 2: city is expensive in anything much less, much less clothing. Toledo, No, no, no, no, no, Cincinnati,
- 51:02Speaker 2: no no. What's the other one? The other one in Ohio?
- 51:06Speaker 2: The state by the lake? Is that the answer?
- 51:13Speaker 5: Do?
- 51:13Speaker 2: So let me let me run this. There's so many
- 51:15Speaker 2: mistakes by a lake, bring out the state. I know
- 51:20Speaker 2: that's the sad part. So I'll run those real quick,
- 51:23Speaker 2: and you guys tell me like I'll read a little
- 51:26Speaker 2: bit of this stuff, but I don't know. So Cleveland, Ohio, Birmingham, Alabama, Detroit, Michigan, Baton, Rouge, Louisiana, Toledo, Ohio,
- 51:34Speaker 2: New Orleans, Newark, Right Lexington, Kentucky, Lubbock, Tech, Texas, and
- 51:40Speaker 2: San Antonio.
- 51:41Speaker 3: I wonder if it has anything to do with theft
- 51:44Speaker 3: or being in a in an economically depressed area where
- 51:48Speaker 3: their losses for their gains are more, because those all
- 51:52Speaker 3: sound like cities that have high crime rates, high crime rates,
- 51:58Speaker 3: low meeting income, not a very tax base, and so
- 52:01Speaker 3: they have to charge more there.
- 52:04Speaker 2: I don't know that. I mean, the thing is, it
- 52:06Speaker 2: doesn't I'm telling you two resources. It never explains, just
- 52:10Speaker 2: says if you buy this, if you buy I think
- 52:13Speaker 2: what they they said three clothing items. They said that
- 52:15Speaker 2: it was a men's dress shirt, it was a pair
- 52:17Speaker 2: of slacks and something else, right, and they went and
- 52:23Speaker 2: bought those things and in all of these cities, and
- 52:25Speaker 2: that turned out to be the most expensive place to
- 52:28Speaker 2: buy those three items is Cleveland, Ohio. And like another Reasonland,
- 52:34Speaker 2: Beverly Hills, l A. Like none of the places you
- 52:37Speaker 2: think that are Miami ridiculous, Like Denver, that's ridiculous. You
- 52:42Speaker 2: would think all of those places would be like the
- 52:44Speaker 2: most like New York City.
- 52:46Speaker 4: Like did it say what the specific items are? Because
- 52:49Speaker 4: maybe they don't have them. So it was a it
- 52:52Speaker 4: was I'll tell you what it is. It was a
- 52:54Speaker 4: a pair of women's slacks, a men's dress shirt and
- 52:57Speaker 4: a poy of a pair of boys jeans. Those are
- 53:00Speaker 4: the three items they purchased in different cities to find
- 53:03Speaker 4: out which cities it costs more, and they never explain why. Yep, yeah,
- 53:08Speaker 4: while it houb it's notorious for this, Yeah, exactly. So
- 53:12Speaker 4: I'm thinking maybe just not a variety of vendors and
- 53:19Speaker 4: shopping there you go, you know, so whereas, yeah, you
- 53:23Speaker 4: have your Rodeo drive, but you also probably you might
- 53:27Speaker 4: have department stores and other things on the outskirts. Whereas
- 53:33Speaker 4: I can't imagine Cleveland not having some cheaper clothing places.
- 53:38Speaker 2: O Lebron lived there, Like they have an NBA basketball team,
- 53:42Speaker 2: they have to have like they have to have something
- 53:44Speaker 2: like like every city has that one male or that
- 53:48Speaker 2: one area where there's a fancy store. If your city
- 53:50Speaker 2: has like over one hundred and fifteen hundred thousand people,
- 53:53Speaker 2: you're going to have a store that basically provides, you know,
- 53:57Speaker 2: things to people who make a little bit more money.
- 53:58Speaker 4: Texas says they are from Ohio, and you have a
- 54:02Speaker 4: ridiculously amount of wealthy people that live in areas on
- 54:05Speaker 4: the outskirts of Ohio, right right right, Cleveland, Rather, is
- 54:09Speaker 4: that what it is.
- 54:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, where do you think Orlando fell in this?
- 54:12Speaker 2: Because we have some cities in Florida. Where do you
- 54:15Speaker 2: think the highest rating one was in Florida for expensive clothing?
- 54:18Speaker 4: So the most expensive clothing for a city in Florida,
- 54:21Speaker 4: I would have to say, I mean logically, Miami.
- 54:24Speaker 3: It would have to be in that area, right, Yeah,
- 54:26Speaker 3: it's Hiliah. Oh I was gonna say Pembroke Pines. Yeah,
- 54:28Speaker 3: just again, outsider.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Hiliah is number thirty. Let's see, Miami comes at thirty
- 54:35Speaker 2: seven and Orlando is number forty three, So we're the
- 54:38Speaker 2: forty third most expensive city in America to buy clothing,
- 54:42Speaker 2: well at least those three items. And it doesn't make
- 54:45Speaker 2: any sense like it does not. Do you think it's
- 54:47Speaker 2: just like one of those things where they went and
- 54:48Speaker 2: bought it is that day. I mean, I can imagine Birmingham,
- 54:52Speaker 2: Alabama is a place where I'm gonna overpay for boys jeans. Well,
- 54:57Speaker 2: you never know, you're right, you never know.
- 55:00Speaker 4: So in Orlando, if you're restricted to Orlando proper, you
- 55:03Speaker 4: would have the Millennium mall right of Florida mall those
- 55:08Speaker 4: are technically Orlando, you know, but you also would not
- 55:11Speaker 4: have Altama mall.
- 55:12Speaker 5: No.
- 55:13Speaker 2: But I mean the funny thing is they don't mention
- 55:15Speaker 2: going to malls. They just say in general, I mean,
- 55:17Speaker 2: they could have bought all this at Walmart. Like it doesn't.
- 55:20Speaker 2: I don't know that it matters.
- 55:21Speaker 5: What hump.
- 55:22Speaker 2: Yeah. And by the way, this is a Fox story first,
- 55:26Speaker 2: but it's linked the wallet Hub and they give you
- 55:28Speaker 2: the entire entire thing. It says three point two let's
- 55:32Speaker 2: see in Birmingham, Alabama, but they play second shoppers, picking
- 55:35Speaker 2: an average of one hundred and twenty four dollars for
- 55:37Speaker 2: those three items for a pair of women's slacks, a
- 55:40Speaker 2: men's dress shirt, and a pair of boys jeans. One
- 55:43Speaker 2: hundred and twenty four dollars. That is insanity. So that's
- 55:47Speaker 2: three point two three point two percent of the city's
- 55:50Speaker 2: median monthly household income.
- 55:52Speaker 4: So it's it's not the most expensive, it's the least affordable,
- 55:57Speaker 4: which factors in how much money they have in the community.
- 56:01Speaker 4: So a depressed community can afford less.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Are all of these communities depressed communities?
- 56:07Speaker 3: It sounds like it. I mean New Orleans, I mean,
- 56:10Speaker 3: Birmingham is a.
- 56:10Speaker 2: Big city, We've been there. Detroit's a big city. Baton
- 56:15Speaker 2: Rouge is a big city. Beton Ruge is a I mean,
- 56:17Speaker 2: is a major player in Louiana. New Orleans is a
- 56:20Speaker 2: big city. Is Newark big? It's I mean Jersey, Yeah
- 56:26Speaker 2: it g it is.
- 56:28Speaker 4: It's a city, but it's as Newark is as close
- 56:32Speaker 4: to New York City as Jersey gets.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Oh I see ye and think about it, Louisiana or
- 56:38Speaker 3: New Orleans. What was the other Baton.
- 56:41Speaker 2: Rouge yea Beton Rouge. Yeah.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Well more so New Orleans probably has an economy that's
- 56:46Speaker 3: built a lot like Orlando's.
- 56:48Speaker 2: It's a big city.
- 56:49Speaker 3: We got a lot of jobs, but everybody that works
- 56:52Speaker 3: those jobs as an hourly wage employee.
- 56:54Speaker 2: That's a pretty good point there. In San Antonio also
- 56:57Speaker 2: is a city that you wouldn't kind of consider one
- 56:59Speaker 2: of those on affluent cities. I mean, San Antonio has
- 57:02Speaker 2: you know, professional sports there. I've been there. It's a
- 57:04Speaker 2: beautiful city. Massive air force base that's out of the
- 57:07Speaker 2: I mean just outside of there.
- 57:08Speaker 3: I mean, I don't think it's a massive air force
- 57:11Speaker 3: base with lots of people who don't have extra money
- 57:13Speaker 3: to spend.
- 57:15Speaker 2: I mean when I was there, I didn't it didn't
- 57:17Speaker 2: seem like, it didn't seem like kind of low income
- 57:19Speaker 2: to me. I mean it was a nice city. San
- 57:21Speaker 2: Antonio is nice.
- 57:22Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I mean a lot of the cities can
- 57:24Speaker 3: be nice. It just depends on what the majority of
- 57:27Speaker 3: the residents do for a living. You know, like right, right, right,
- 57:30Speaker 3: you're in Massachusetts and you work at MIT. You're not
- 57:33Speaker 3: shopping at TJ Max.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Man, maybe. I just when I saw this today,
- 57:36Speaker 2: I was like, God, that seems kind of wild. When
- 57:38Speaker 2: I looked at the list of the city, and I'm like,
- 57:39Speaker 2: what would cause that? And you read on I read
- 57:41Speaker 2: it three or four times, like it never really gives
- 57:44Speaker 2: you a even a theory on why those things would
- 57:47Speaker 2: cost you more there. It's it's ays conductive by financial
- 57:51Speaker 2: company wallet Up shows that where consumers live can make
- 57:53Speaker 2: a significant difference on how much their income goes toward clothing,
- 57:56Speaker 2: with some cities forcing residents to spend more than three
- 57:59Speaker 2: percent of their monthly household income on clothing items. It said,
- 58:03Speaker 2: this is, by the way, this is so that explains
- 58:05Speaker 2: how you get Cleveland. Oh yeah, maybe so yeah, yeah yeah.
- 58:09Speaker 2: One hundreds of the largest cities in the US they
- 58:11Speaker 2: did it there. I guess they shopped at all those cities,
- 58:13Speaker 2: or so they say, maybe they just went online a fountain.
- 58:15Speaker 4: Right, so you don't have a lot of high income earners,
- 58:19Speaker 4: that disparity between the costs of genes and the median
- 58:23Speaker 4: income is going to be greater, which is why you
- 58:26Speaker 4: get the places on the top of that list.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't mind. I mean, the thing is,
- 58:31Speaker 2: it's funny. I was reading this study and I'm like,
- 58:32Speaker 2: this is one of the like, I can't even remember
- 58:33Speaker 2: the last time I bought a pair of like a
- 58:35Speaker 2: new item of clothing. Like, everything I get I get
- 58:38Speaker 2: from I get from thrift stores. For the most part, shoes,
- 58:41Speaker 2: I buy nice shoes. That's it. I don't buy shoes
- 58:43Speaker 2: at thrift stores. Yeah, but I do buy jeans and
- 58:45Speaker 2: some of the genes I have on alchemen thrift store
- 58:48Speaker 2: that in fact, the shirt I have on right now
- 58:49Speaker 2: came from a from a thrift store. You can't eat it.
- 58:53Speaker 2: I mean, I buy a pair of jeans and a
- 58:54Speaker 2: shirt for like eight dollars. Dude, how do you lose?
- 58:57Speaker 4: You just if you can find the thing, you you
- 59:00Speaker 4: do it yourself. You go in there, does toy get
- 59:02Speaker 4: it for you? And chocolate I go in mat. Matter
- 59:04Speaker 4: of fact, we go in there about once a week
- 59:06Speaker 4: because it's it turns over the Oh my god, so much,
- 59:10Speaker 4: damn so much. And I tell you the funny thing
- 59:12Speaker 4: that today so I donate to the same good Will
- 59:13Speaker 4: I shot at.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Yes, so I was over there. I was ripping through
- 59:16Speaker 2: the shirts for a good golf shirt. And I can
- 59:18Speaker 2: look at just the material and tell you if it's
- 59:21Speaker 2: a good shirt or not. I don't have to really
- 59:23Speaker 2: pull it back or pull it out, or try it
- 59:24Speaker 2: on or anything. You kind of get the idea after
- 59:26Speaker 2: you see the good ones that I like. I can
- 59:27Speaker 2: see the material, it's good. I'm looking. I'm like, oh,
- 59:30Speaker 2: there's one right there, and it was one I donated
- 59:32Speaker 2: the week before. Did you buy it? I've done that
- 59:37Speaker 2: before though. I bought a pair of jeans one time
- 59:40Speaker 2: that I donated the week before, and guess what, they
- 59:43Speaker 2: still didn't fit. That.
- 59:47Speaker 4: That's the funny is that my wife tells me the
- 59:49Speaker 4: stories of because they don't have dressing rooms Goodwill, you
- 59:53Speaker 4: see people trying on clothes over their clothes.
- 59:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's what they do. But the cool thing
- 59:57Speaker 2: about Goodwill is is they will give you I think
- 59:59Speaker 2: three or five days or something like that to bring
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: it back. Yeah, a clothing item. So you know we
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: live right behind the joint. So if we want to
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: take it back, and I don't think you can get
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: your money's back. I don't think you get your money's
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: back at Goodwill. I think what you do? You get
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: store credit. So you go back there and find yourself
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: another It seems fair. Yeah, another shirt with the label
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: torn out you donated a week earlier.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: You just leave the tags on like I did shopping
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: for the yacht cruise, and just like here it's donated
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: back again.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: I don't ever want to see this. Hey, do be
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: a favorabody at the question of the day, do you
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: shop at thrift stores or good Wills for your clothing?
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: I want to know what percentage of our audience does
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: is I feel like an odd man out when we
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: talk about this. You guys look at me like I
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: got something. No, Oh, what are you kid? My wife
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: has been on this for a year. Do you wear it?
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: Is it just? He said?
- 1:00:43Speaker 8: No?
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: This shirt is a thrift store shirt.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: This k kid, I cut that little yellow plastic tag
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: out of it this morning.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Oh man, good for you, and they're great right, because
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: and here's the thing. You can wear it a few
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: times and it gets old, you don't feel bad about
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: getting rid of it because you've only spent four or
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: five dollars on it. You can cycle it right back
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: to Goodwill and find something else now. And some of
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: them are better than others. If you want a little tip,
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: little pro tip on the good Will things, go to
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: the good Wills near the nice neighborhoods. Yeah, that's what
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: you do. So the best good Will in Lake Counties
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: and went up there by the villages. Because those villages, guys,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: they get out there and they wear their golf shirts
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: like three or four times, like, oh, I've been seen
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: in this. Yeah, I've hit the plaza with this a
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: couple of times. You know, Eileen saw me in this.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: So I can't wear it more than once. And you
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: go out there, and I swear you'll find hundreds of
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: dollars of absolutely brand new golf ware that these old
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: dudes just don't want to wear anymore because it's not
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: in love. It going tonight my mind.
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: And that was the problem because the kids, they wanted
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: stuff that came from when they were in middle school.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: My wife was thrifting then, and my kids wanted stuff
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: from the mall.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Yeah, the store and the malls. Yeah.
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: I having a air postal out of Crombie and Fitch.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: Yeah, vineyard vines, all that stuff. Yeah. All right, four
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: seven nine one six one four one Texas and seven
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: zero three. We're gonna take a break and come back
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: and do Whiskey of the Week. Stay tuned. Hey guys,
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: I hope you guys are doing well.
- 1:02:09Speaker 15: So, I don't know if you know this. That ice
- 1:02:11Speaker 15: cream tuck the truck that the Sheriff's department has in
- 1:02:13Speaker 15: Orange County, that came from drug money. So these guys
- 1:02:16Speaker 15: against says hell, just take drug people's money, like, arrest
- 1:02:19Speaker 15: them and buy an icekam trucking give out free ice cream.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Love that.
- 1:02:22Speaker 15: Thanks?
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Bye? Well jo, Is there anything we can get some
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: sound effects on how many torpedoes, how badly it sinks
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: our sales five torpedoes and maybe like you talking my
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: battleship sound effect? Thanks, good dude, that's got a great idea.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: All right, now, this is all I got.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: Somebody's got to have battleship game, right, you sink my battleship?
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: All right, Welcome back to the Jim Groober Show. We're
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: a radio one to four point one. Your four o'clock
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: keyword is credit. You only have about ten minutes or
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: so to get over to a real radio out of
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: him and send that away for your chance at one
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: thousand dollars credit. Guys, that is your fork like keyword.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Good luck, get it. Let's do whiskey. Oh the week, Forward.
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: Slash Distillery and Blending House, Crees.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: And Wiresterresbow.
- 1:03:09Speaker 9: On the Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: What's the Wee? Brought to you by our good friends
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: over at Forward Slash right there in the winter Park.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: We love these guys. You will as well when you
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: go visit. It's the only blending I think it's only
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: blending house in the southeast or something. Maybe the maybe
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: the world here, it might be the world. It is
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: really rare, I think I know for a fact. It's
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: only one in Orlando. And we have this beautiful bottle
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: of whiskey today. Let me go over here. This is
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: called this is straight burnon Whiskey Holt in Capan, Holt
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: in Capan. If you're on the feed right now Jim
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: Corportlive dot com or a real radio dot FM Slash,
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: watch you can see the very simple label of the
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: bottle there in debb if you don't mind, you were
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: reading the history and why this is called Holt and Capan. Yeah,
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: it's really cool.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: So this is from Forward Slash their website. At the
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: corner of Avenue and Capean Avenue in historic Winner Park,
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: two names intersect that helped shape the community that we
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: call home. Turns out, Jane Seymour Capein arrived in eighteen
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: eighty four and bought land including the spot of the
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: future home of Rollins College, cool Man and then Hamilton
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: Holt was president of Rollins College from nineteen twenty five
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: to nineteen forty nine, and he's kind of credited with
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: helping elevate Winner Park in the way nationally recognized cultural destination.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: I'll be damned right. So this get some heritage in there.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: That's what this bourbon is all about.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: It's all about a spirit born of history, built on
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: legacy and guided by vision.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: They call it their Legacy Series, and the reason why
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: they call it is because the other series, which is
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: the I think it is the Artisanal series. That series
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: came from small makers all across the US. I believe
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: the Legacy series come from whiskeys that you know. Yeah,
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: it explores traditional bourbon producers that have different styles and
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: assembly them together right exactly. And this is this is
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: a blend of seven and eight year old high rye
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: bourbons twenty one percent rye in both mash bills, and
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: it is absolutely I'll tell you what it says. This
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: is design for actually making better cocktails.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: So that means I do I have a green light
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: to make an old fashioned using this?
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: You certainly can't. Right, Let's take a little sip here,
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: jacking you don't mind. Cheers everyone out there going into
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: a beautiful weekend. Give me some notes, Jackson, what do
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: you what do you taste in there? Caramel? Well, sweeter
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: than normal? Right, it is a.
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: Little sweeter, it was. I noticed when I had it.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: I added a nice cube and so that added a
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: little water to it, which really it softens it a bit, yeah,
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: and kind of adjusts the flavor. But I think it
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: really opens it up a little bit. And I do
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: believe this as well.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: I do believe that when you get this sweeter whiskeyes,
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: it does make better cocktails. Yeah, if you don't have
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: to add any simple to it or anything like that,
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: or so just a little bit. But this does have
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: a really nice sweet caramel flavor. I would agree with you.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: A lot of butterscotch in there as well, not that heavy,
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: very drinkable, would you agree.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: I do, see, yeah, I have I know what butterscotch
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: tastes like, I know a caramel taste like huh. All
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: the things that you say, and like the vanilla that
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: you pick up, I have a hard time distinguishing when that.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: I'm just like when you have good but when you
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: have a vanilla cookie or a vanilla piece thing with vanilla,
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: or like ice cream or something like that.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Like my coffee in the morning's sun, but you have
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: the cheap ass creamer, it's not gonna be like this
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: nice ass bourbon. It's that cheap. It's three dollars and
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: ninety nine cents for the bottle. But you get that
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: nice flavor of vanilla on the back of your tongue there.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: And this doesn't have a lot of the orange sometimes
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: that will come in bourbons. This is kind of like
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: just a nice, sweet, really approachable, weedy kind of bourbon.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: It's delicious. It is very good, yeah, real good. It's
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: called Holt and Capan And if you go over to
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: the tasting room Forward Slash, I would suggest at this
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: first Street, and then maybe the cocktail made with it.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: I agree with you. I think this will make an
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: unbelievable like whiskey sour or old fashioned, it'd be great.
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: I I don't know the last time I had a
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: whiskey sour.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: It could be thirty years, but.
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: I come to find out that's what my mom's drink was.
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: Oh really, my sister mentioned that you useday if she
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: would drink it would be a whiskey sour.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: My mom was a I remember all the old schools
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Tom Collins.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's my mom's drink. Was it really a Tom
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: Collins or a whiskey sour? Yeah?
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a This is an ongoing production, less
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: than five barrels used per batch. So this is a
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: really really unique whiskey and it's really good. Actually, this
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: is the most approachable the ones we've had so far,
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: I think so.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: And you know, you can go to Forward Slash on
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: the corner of Holt and Capan and you can actually
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: have this and hang out there. It's a neat place
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: to hang out and learn more about whiskey and want
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: or just chill this is so good.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: It is good. Yeah.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: Their website is drink Forward slash dot com. That's drink
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: Forward slash dot com. Yeah, exactly, just like deb said,
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: she was ringing there, she goes. This is the first
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: Legacy whiskey release. And the reason they named it that,
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: it's because it was the highlight the two families had
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: a massive influence on building Winter Park and Rollins College. Yeah,
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: to the prestige that they have today.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: It's really cool how they honor Central Florida history with
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: such you know, cool blends, cool labels.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: God, so is that the label on it?
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: It's it's simple, but it almost has like that kind
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: of nineteen thirties feel to it.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Jack, I'm wondering, though, how are you gonna make a
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: How are you gonna make an old fashion of this one?
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: It's in my bourbon cabinet, ha ha as, I'm coming over. Yeah, thanks, guys,
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: we appreciate that. If you want to try this today,
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: it's easy. It's the Holton Capan. It's straight bourbon whiskey
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: forty five percent alcohol by volume, so that's ninety proof.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: And if you want to try a really nice, super
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: really approachable whiskey with a little sweetness to it. I
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: think you would absolutely love this. I think our boy
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: eric Keller would love this whiskey. I don't think we've
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: had one that eric Keller wouldn't love.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: And according to the texting service, he loves it even
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: without tasting it.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and can we can't mention the bottles. We can't
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: mention where this is from, right, because I think they
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: made a note or something, because the if I mentioned
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: where one of these whiskeys is from, because it's just
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: sixty forty blend. Yeah, it's only two whiskeys, and one
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: of them is unbelievably famous, and I think that's what
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: makes this the legacy series. Yeah, is because those whiskeys
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: are famous. I'm not saying it's Green River. I'm just saying,
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: all right, I'm saying, if you like that guy rhymes
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: with green River man, I tell you when you go
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: to my Bourman cabinet, you know the ones I like,
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: because there's only like an answer to or left and
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Green River is one of those.
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: So that's an interesting thing you bring up, because I
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: have several bottles with down with just a little bit left,
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: and there's something don't do it?
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Well?
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: Oh no, I'm not doing mixing them. Okay, yeah, that
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: I know. That's that is a nerek Keller move.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: Oh my god, don't do that. No, it's called an
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: infinity bottle. Right, we're not doing that.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: Guess what that's that's you doing a blending I mean
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: forward slash.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: That's what they do. They blend. But they're professionals. You
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: don't want to go to your house and act like
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: you're some You're gonna ruin all the whiskey.
- 1:10:17Speaker 16: What makes a professional because someone's willing to pay you
- 1:10:19Speaker 16: for it. Come on, anyone can do it if you
- 1:10:23Speaker 16: can actually distinguish flavor.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: Note I'm gonna eventually have to stop drinking this stuff.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Go ahead. The uh.
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: So, I have a bunch of bottles with a little
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: bit in it, and there's I'm hesitant to finish it.
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: It's like, because if I'm gonna make a like an
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: old fashioned, I have a full bottle of Maker's Mark,
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: I'll just use that. And so I have a bunch
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: of different Do you have them flavors a little bit?
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: Do you have them broken down into like proof or
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: approachability or these are the ones I mean cocktails with
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: the bottle. It's where the bottle looks prettiest. It's aesthetics.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Come on, dude, Yeah, that's exactly but I'm thinking that's
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: exactly what I'm thinking. Come on, dude, I have five
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: shelves in my Bourbon cabinet. The top ones do this,
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: That next level does this. All the top ones are
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: exactly all the sippers. You don't mix that with anything.
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: The bottom ones are mixers. I don't know anything about that.
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: I know what they say Bourbon on all right again,

- 1:13:03Speaker 4: It's going from August fourth through the ninth. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: And she is a really interesting person.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: Man. She really has done some amazing stuff. You know,
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: this company was started I think back in the early eighties,
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: this matchroom, and they used to they put on championships
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: in tournaments around the world, and they've done it for
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: mini sports. Billiards is where it's kind of settled now,
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: and you know, a real male dominated kind of sport
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: and she is just killing it. Rated one of the
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: most one hundred important people in business just a couple
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: of years ago by Forbes magazine. So we'll have Emily
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: Fraser in just a few minutes to tell you about
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: the Florida Open. Cool. Now, look on the heels of that,
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: we do have another big time professional athlete in our area,
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: actually within our living area right now, our listing area.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: Right now, we have the number one ranked player of
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: this in the country. Is it pickleball? No, No, excuse me,
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: he's the fifth rank. He just beat the number one rank.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: It's not pickleball. Table tennis. It's not table tennis. Twenty
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: two year old Ethan Walker.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: Oh, that definitely sounds like disc golf. It's not disc golf,
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: but I have to tell you you're right. It does sound
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: like a disc golf champion. It's not though skateboarding. He
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: lives in Daytona Shores. Ah, he's a surfer Daytona Beach Shores.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: I should say the shores. No fishing, not surfing, not fishing, skimboarding,
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: not skimboarding.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: Maybe one of the most maybe the best out How
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: do I frame this because I will tell you it's
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: so funny. This game gets ragged on a lot, and
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: then when you start playing it, you're like, God, is
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: so much fun. It's so much and it's a great
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: gambling game as well. No, uh, how are you guys
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: not getting this? Every brewery has this. Darts starts No,
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: the ring on a hook game cornhole? Cornhole is the answer. Yeah, okay,
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: thirty guesses later, thank you? Oh my god, corn hole
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: is We have the number five corn hole player in
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: the world, dude, living right here in Daytona Beach. Ethan Walker,
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: twenty two years old. Yeah, he beat the number one
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: player in the world. He says, it's not as easy
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: as you think. It is practice, practice, practice, And I
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: have to tell you it's so funny. I watch like
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: professional cornhole sometimes and look, I don't know why. I'm
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: gonna be honest. I mean, I don't know what gets
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: me into that situation. But you'll you drop the remote. Hey,
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: you're watching it. You just don't want to go and
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: get it. You're watching the OHO or something like that,
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: ESPN ten.
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: Hey, I mean we're planning to have cornhole that SUTs
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: pups and pints this year.
- 1:15:49Speaker 17: Nice.
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: You know, maybe we can invite the championhip. Yeah, maybe
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: so show us some pointers on how to throw the bag.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: But man, that is the what.
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: Was that?
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: What they call it? The bag? It's the bag? You said.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: It's just like I did. But you say bag? I
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: say bag? Okay, bag? Yeah? Bag? There you say it again.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: Bag much better, say jaguar. Now you're one of us.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: You are what game? What outside game is better than
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: the cornhole? I mean what bar game? Like lawn darts? Dude?
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: Yes they are lawn darts, or you get rid of
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: your sister or brother.
- 1:16:34Speaker 4: But corner hole is not an indoor bar game. That's
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: an outdoor you can listen.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: How dare you? Corn Hole can be played anywhere.
- 1:16:41Speaker 16: I'll give you the best, and you will never guess
- 1:16:44Speaker 16: what the best indoor bar game is.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: Indoor bar game because it's not pool, it's not dark,
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: it's not foosball. It's it's not foosball. No, let us
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: guess it's not foosball. It's not foosball. I know what
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: it is. It's that it's that long. It looks like
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: a bowling alley, but it's got a steal puck and
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: it's got this uh use sprinkle wax beads or something
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: on it. Tabletop shuffle board is the greatest, dude. Nobody
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: has that game anymore.
- 1:17:15Speaker 11: Do you know?
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: The only place where that game was? And I don't
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: know if they still have it over in Maitland, there's
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: be a place called Teak. It has changed names a
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: billion times though it is now. But the only reason
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: I'm going there because the service was so bad that
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: we would go in there and wait forty five minutes,
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: gonna be in a burger. But in that time they
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: had one of these games, one of these what's it
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: called again, tabletop shuffle boards. Oh my god, Deborah, they
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: so much fun. They had one of those tables at Costco.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: It was almost four hundred dollars and I thought it
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: would be a great addition when we had our old
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: offices over there. It could be.
- 1:17:49Speaker 16: I thought it would fit nicely in the hallway, right
- 1:17:52Speaker 16: next to the wall.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: My best friend has one of those in her game room.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: Are you serious? Yeah, no way, tell you long table.
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: Almost got yeah, it almost got ruined at during the
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: hurricane because her home got flooded.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: And she's like, yeah, I'm not kidding. It's built like
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: I mean like it's built. It looks just like a
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: bowling alley. It's a stack wood and and it's pollen
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: and then you put those is it it's a wax
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: beach or something like a shaving it's like that or
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: it could be. Yeah, so that's the thing that that
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: the puck slides on. Oh it's so much fun, it
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: really is. That's a good that is a good one.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: And you never see them like you never see this thing.
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: They got to be expensive. And the thing he's in
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: Sanford has tabletop shows. Let's go well, because they're so big,
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: you know, and you need that space. And you know, again,
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: if you are if you're trying to, you know, get
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: people to come in like you're gonna do dartboards, PIML
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: machines and pool tables before you even get to that thing.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: I don't know is foosball even a thing anymore? Does
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: anybody play foosball anymore? I don't know. I never did.
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: I can tell you did a very fun game to play,
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: and I haven't played it years as bochi ball.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: Bochi ball that's like a that's almost like a croquet without.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: The It's a sport for old Italian men. But I
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: do like it.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: So it's played on a court, right, the.
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: Bochi ball I've always seen. No, it's just like.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: It's a lawn game.
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: I first saw it in a park in Paris and
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: then yeah.
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: So hold on for a second. Because Mount Dora has
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: like a professional lawn bowling thing. What's the difference between
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: lawn bowling and boxing? What the hell is lawn bowling?
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: Deb I'm not even sure my husband would be able
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: to tell you that, because he played lawn bowling with
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: them for a while.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: I think it's similar, though.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: I think the whole idea is that there isn't net
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: isn't there?
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: I think with lawn bowling. I thought there was like
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: a circle and it was almost like a dartboard where
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: the outside ring meant something, the inside in the middle ring,
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: and then if you got it in the dead center.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: And the whole idea was is your move could be
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: used to knock other players out of there, kind of
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: like curling or bochi ball, kind of like that, exactly
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: the same thing. And the way that these old dudes
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: can roll these balls.
- 1:20:01Speaker 6: Yeah, can you show us, old guy, show us how
- 1:20:12Speaker 6: you roll those balls.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: Get it out of your system. We have company coming in.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: I am that child.
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: You have to hide, all right, I'm sorry, I I
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: I completely forgot said.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: You were saying. You were saying rolling balls, Jack and
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: I have my music. Tell me again, what is that?
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: As I was saying professionally on the air as a
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: professional broadcaster.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: Right right, right right, get to the good part that
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: when these players, these guys engage the implement in which they.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: Roll, what would that be? Is it dice? Oh no,
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: it's not dice? Is it? Is it a cornhole bag?
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: It's not a bag? So then what is said? So
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: when these old dudes roll their balls, they know they
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: know how to hold them. Lifetime of experience there and
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: they juggle them just right to get them in position
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: in their hand water. What happened to my conditioner? So
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: when you when you roll it busted, it rolls when
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: it rolls with a certain spin, oh does it? And
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: they know how to work that ball into the into
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: that middle hole.
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: What you definitely don't want to get at the top
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: or the bottom one that middle hole and that's what.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: That's heaven, that's where the that's and you're trying to
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: knock other old dude balls out of there.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: It's kind of like what a botchy ball game is orgy. Yeah,
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: we're thirty minutes away from pick the porn. Actually perfect
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: time to bring in I guess, but I think.
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: That's exactly what happens. Like you have like each side
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: of like you you switch players and I think you
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: have like three or four of these balls and switch
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: players and you roll them down there. These dudes, man,
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: they really know how to like release them, so they
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: do kind of crazy stuff.
- 1:22:23Speaker 17: Come on, man, come on man, what what are you
- 1:22:29Speaker 17: nine year?
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: It's the crazy part of this show is I'm looking
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: up Dev's laughing at old man's balls, Jack's and old
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: men's balls. I look up and there's a bear eating
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: a fish. Are we have a fourth panel on our
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: thing and a jackon Perpetual has grizzly bears up they're
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: eating fish.
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: Hey, well listen the brown bears. It's summer in the
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: last guys, so they are out feeding, but not everyone
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: on our YouTube chat like seeing the bear rip apart.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: And by the way, it's even but just reminded me
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: of the balls are called skip balls. Be right, Oh,
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: it's the bourbon. It's not the bourbon. No, it's not,
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: it can't be. It's it's the brain, alright four seven
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: nine one six one four one text us at seven
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: seven zero three one our friend Emily Fraser up next,
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: we'll talk about the Florida Open this weekend at cree Brow.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: What up, guys? Support from Duval? When Jack plays that music,
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: I lose off the troll man. That is so funny.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: When that music hits deb fan, where's my conditioner? Den?
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: Fat girl death? Come on? Disagree? Agree to disagree? Good girl?
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: God you guys Friday way more easier now, you buddy,
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: appreciate it. My conditioner alone? All right, you're back. Keywords
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: green g r e e in got a real radio
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: out of him and send that off for your chance
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: at one thousand dollars. I'm Jim. There's deb hello Jangs
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: year as well. Yeah, big event coming up this weekend
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: at karreeb Row. It is the Florida Open, a major,
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: major billiards championship. You guys give it up for the promoter,
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: Miss Emily Frazer. How you doing And in a minute,
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: it's been about a year or.
- 1:24:31Speaker 18: So, that's about you can I just say when I
- 1:24:34Speaker 18: was sitting just in the you know, little foyer bit,
- 1:24:36Speaker 18: I was getting more comfortable. All I could hear was
- 1:24:39Speaker 18: you guys laughing. I'm thinking this is going to be
- 1:24:41Speaker 18: absolute well of the time. And I remembered obviously tuney
- 1:24:44Speaker 18: and I know it wasn't in the studio last year,
- 1:24:46Speaker 18: but I remember coming off of the zoom call and
- 1:24:49Speaker 18: I said to Jack who was with me, and he
- 1:24:52Speaker 18: and he was.
- 1:24:52Speaker 11: Like that was incredible.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: I was like, I know I had a great sign.
- 1:24:56Speaker 11: Energy was brilliant. So thank you for having me back.
- 1:24:59Speaker 11: I'm on a to be back in young lady.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: Thanks for driving down here. We know it quite a
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: pain in the ass from where the hotel is.
- 1:25:05Speaker 11: Thirty five minute journey out on my shopping day as well.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Today it was my shopping day. You are around the
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: shopping how somebody take you to the Mararow Mollennia and
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: walk the expensive stores all the good stuff there.
- 1:25:15Speaker 11: I've been there, We're going thereafter, very nice.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Emily is the e CEO of Matchroom Sports, which primarily
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: produces big tournaments for snooker, for pool, for billiards. And
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: you do this all over the world, right.
- 1:25:28Speaker 18: Yeah, don't forget fishing. We just fisher Mania. We just
- 1:25:32Speaker 18: did that in the UK. It's a one day event,
- 1:25:36Speaker 18: five hours of live fishing and you know what, it's
- 1:25:38Speaker 18: probably one of our best events. The team will love
- 1:25:40Speaker 18: it and it keeps us really engaged with different sports
- 1:25:45Speaker 18: and then how we can make pool events bigger and
- 1:25:48Speaker 18: better because you're dealing with different athletes, you're dealing with
- 1:25:52Speaker 18: different rules, spectators, and also it's completely outside sport. So
- 1:25:57Speaker 18: we're very very dynamic in our team. We're always thriving
- 1:26:01Speaker 18: to improve to build our tour, which is obviously the
- 1:26:05Speaker 18: World nine Ball Tour. That's my little baby. Don't have children, haven't.
- 1:26:08Speaker 11: Be blessed them yet, I say yet. However, the World nine.
- 1:26:12Speaker 18: Ball Tour, which we started a good three to four
- 1:26:16Speaker 18: years ago. Rh Yeah, that is in its early growth,
- 1:26:20Speaker 18: and that is my little baby I am.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: Let me ask you about billiard. Do you know I
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: think in a lot of people out there because one
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: of the things we talked about is, you know, I
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: know that you and I had a brief explain a
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: brief talk about it. Top golf kind of thing is
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: coming to billiards. I think it's more it's really regaining
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: a lot of popularity. It's inexpensive, it's indoors, easy to play, fun,
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: you can have some drink, listen to some music. It's
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: a great social game altogether. Why do you think that
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: billiards is kind of experiencing this kind of renaissance right now?
- 1:26:47Speaker 11: Well, you just kind of explained our pool tournaments as well.
- 1:26:51Speaker 18: Oh really, yeah, you know you look at the Moscone
- 1:26:53Speaker 18: Cup that's been going for over thirty years now.
- 1:26:55Speaker 11: It's created a brand.
- 1:26:57Speaker 18: But Barry Hearn, he came up with the Mosque only
- 1:27:00Speaker 18: Cup off of the Ryder Cup, so it follows the
- 1:27:03Speaker 18: same format USA versus Europe. That arena is literally like
- 1:27:11Speaker 18: everyone's screaming. My voice goes I'm not even screaming, but
- 1:27:15Speaker 18: having to talk so loud.
- 1:27:17Speaker 11: It's so you know loud in there, and I feel
- 1:27:20Speaker 11: so sorry for the players.
- 1:27:21Speaker 18: There will be a you know last year, we're in
- 1:27:24Speaker 18: London this year at the kree Broyal in at the
- 1:27:26Speaker 18: end of November twenty seventh of twenty seventh of November
- 1:27:30Speaker 18: for four days. Tyler Stayer's, you know American pro player.
- 1:27:35Speaker 18: He played in London last year. He missed the worst
- 1:27:40Speaker 18: nine ball, Like I could have made it. Who's here
- 1:27:44Speaker 18: never played ball in her life? She would have made
- 1:27:47Speaker 18: the ninth.
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:27:48Speaker 18: Really, Tyler just dogged it, like that's our terminology. He
- 1:27:53Speaker 18: dogged it, and that's because he had two thousand fans
- 1:27:58Speaker 18: dreaming and he just missed it and you know it's
- 1:28:02Speaker 18: on our social media and it kind of went down
- 1:28:04Speaker 18: and then.
- 1:28:04Speaker 11: Basically for the rest of the tournament, the British.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: Fans were just ragging him. Oh, just unroofless.
- 1:28:09Speaker 11: They're just like, don't bottle it, don't bottle it, and
- 1:28:12Speaker 11: you know what.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: Else to do? It has that same vibe, you know, Emily.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: I was just the other day looking at like the
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: World Dark Championships and it's wild. You see this gigantic
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: arena and it is full and they're mad. They're like
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: soccer hooligan mad. They're so crazy, it really is. And
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: I don't understand how those two dudes even made it
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: standing up there, because all you see is all these
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: people in these two little guys at the bottom doing that.
- 1:28:33Speaker 18: And it's really quite interesting as to how you view
- 1:28:37Speaker 18: the darts.
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:28:38Speaker 18: So you look at Niebel Paul and you have your
- 1:28:40Speaker 18: one table in the center for like the one table events,
- 1:28:44Speaker 18: and you have a big quadron like arena, and you've
- 1:28:46Speaker 18: got this elevated view of the table darts. You look
- 1:28:50Speaker 18: at their arena, you have people with their back to
- 1:28:53Speaker 18: the screen. Yeah, and it's like they just have their
- 1:28:56Speaker 18: back to it and they're not even watching the darts and.
- 1:28:59Speaker 11: They're like, dude.
- 1:29:00Speaker 18: And every time I go to the dance, you know,
- 1:29:05Speaker 18: my last event that I went to the dance was
- 1:29:07Speaker 18: a MSG in New York, the US Darts Masters. They
- 1:29:11Speaker 18: had four thousand fans in their men just because they
- 1:29:13Speaker 18: couldn't get any more right, really, And I was sat
- 1:29:16Speaker 18: there and I was looking around and I.
- 1:29:18Speaker 11: Was like, oh my gosh, how do I do this
- 1:29:21Speaker 11: at the pool?
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:29:22Speaker 18: Yeah, Because you know, I'm not shy to admit it
- 1:29:26Speaker 18: that we copy things from other sports, sure, and you
- 1:29:28Speaker 18: know we are multi sport. That is what we do.
- 1:29:30Speaker 18: Like we are growing a sport. It's a niche sport.
- 1:29:34Speaker 18: It's you know, twenty million people recreationally play nine ball
- 1:29:38Speaker 18: here in America. However, it's not a professional sport, and
- 1:29:41Speaker 18: it's our job to promote that and by doing open tournaments,
- 1:29:45Speaker 18: so developing the pass routes locally, but also creating invitational
- 1:29:50Speaker 18: events so you can have the two thousand people turning up.
- 1:29:53Speaker 18: So our job is to look at it and go,
- 1:29:55Speaker 18: how do we bring in the casual sports fan. And
- 1:29:58Speaker 18: one thing that we're trialing the Florida Open this year
- 1:30:01Speaker 18: at the Crib is for the weekend session, we're trialing
- 1:30:04Speaker 18: a bit more of a dart set up.
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: Oh really, that's cool.
- 1:30:07Speaker 18: I will get slaughtered by the hardcoreporal fans, like I'm
- 1:30:12Speaker 18: telling you riots. Really, Oh my gosh, if I do
- 1:30:16Speaker 18: this for the Mosconey right really, yeah, Farry might even
- 1:30:19Speaker 18: be like Emily, You've done That's it.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: I doubt that very much.
- 1:30:23Speaker 18: But we are at this point where I can't get
- 1:30:26Speaker 18: any more physical people in the arena, right, you got
- 1:30:29Speaker 18: to do something.
- 1:30:29Speaker 11: Yeah, So the Moscone.
- 1:30:30Speaker 18: Cup it will have two thousand people in the arena.
- 1:30:33Speaker 18: We're about eighty percent capacity and that's at the end
- 1:30:36Speaker 18: of November. We will sell out a two thousand. So
- 1:30:39Speaker 18: I'm sitting here going right two years when we come
- 1:30:41Speaker 18: back to the cree Broyal and America have won it,
- 1:30:44Speaker 18: because I'm very hopeful they will, and I'm also manifesting it.
- 1:30:48Speaker 11: How do I get five thousand in there?
- 1:30:50Speaker 18: The only way that we do this is if we
- 1:30:52Speaker 18: change the setup of it and we bring down the tables.
- 1:30:55Speaker 18: We put in big screens. So we're doing a very
- 1:30:58Speaker 18: very minor version of this at the Florida Open this week.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: Nice.
- 1:31:02Speaker 18: Nice, and you know the table is gonna be there.
- 1:31:04Speaker 18: We're gonna have jugs of beer on the table. You know,
- 1:31:06Speaker 18: the Creeb a great host for us. You know they
- 1:31:08Speaker 18: are very much invested with matchroom sport. You know they
- 1:31:12Speaker 18: are doing matchroom boxing shows. They now have the Moscowe
- 1:31:16Speaker 18: and the Florida are Open, and you know, they're really
- 1:31:18Speaker 18: good partners.
- 1:31:19Speaker 11: That's awesome, and it's a beautiful resort.
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: It is a beautiful space out there. Really excited about it.
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: I can only imagine man being in central Florida. I
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: mean it's a little hot this time of year, but
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: other than that, still having access to all the cool
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: stuff around that area, because that really is a really
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: nice centrally located area for shopping, entertainment, things of that nature.
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: Great food around there as well, so very cool. We're
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: talking to Emily Frazer. She is the CEO of Matchroom Sports.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: Big big event coming up this week in the Florida
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: Open at crebe Reale. We'll tell you how to get
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: your tickets in one second.
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: So Emily I wanted to ask, says, it's such an
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: interesting sport billiards. How do you what's your outreach like
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: to younger people to try and get them interested in
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: the sport at an early age.
- 1:31:57Speaker 18: Such a good question. We launched WNT, which is the
- 1:32:01Speaker 18: World nine LL Tour Next Gen. Oh so, a couple
- 1:32:05Speaker 18: of years ago. At our Big Open tournaments, we identified
- 1:32:09Speaker 18: that for a time in the tournament there was about
- 1:32:13Speaker 18: ten tables.
- 1:32:14Speaker 11: Free because we play across.
- 1:32:16Speaker 18: At thirty tables we have two hundred and fifty six players.
- 1:32:20Speaker 18: There was like these two days where we had like
- 1:32:22Speaker 18: ten tables doing nothing because you know, there wasn't any
- 1:32:25Speaker 18: matches to put on them, so we sat there, and
- 1:32:27Speaker 18: we thought, how do we improve, how do we get
- 1:32:30Speaker 18: better at this? How do we help Team USA for
- 1:32:33Speaker 18: the Moscowy Cup. The only way we can do that
- 1:32:35Speaker 18: is improving the next generation. Well, yeah, exactly. So we
- 1:32:39Speaker 18: started running junior tournaments sixty four players, single elimination.
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: Damn really yeah, and it was stacked up right. Yeah.
- 1:32:48Speaker 11: Then we were.
- 1:32:48Speaker 18: Getting feedback and you know, the parents were like, look,
- 1:32:50Speaker 18: they need another crack at it, So we need to
- 1:32:52Speaker 18: do double elimination it Obviously it takes longer, so we
- 1:32:55Speaker 18: reduced and do thirty two players and they're all seventy.
- 1:32:59Speaker 18: They were all sixteen years and under. So we had
- 1:33:02Speaker 18: kids as young as seven turning up.
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: Any problem entrance, no problem finding players at all.
- 1:33:08Speaker 5: Ye.
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: Right, and the reason why, let me take some real quick,
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: and I don't last year when you were here, when
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: you left, you should have seen this thing. We had
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: more interaction about people who are telling me about their
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: pool leagues where I could go. I mean, it was crazy,
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: so incredible. Yeah.
- 1:33:21Speaker 18: And so the what I love about the junior events
- 1:33:24Speaker 18: is that half of them are all girls.
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:33:27Speaker 18: Yeah, so all of our tournaments are all open. But
- 1:33:30Speaker 18: I also respect that, you know, for a long time.
- 1:33:33Speaker 18: There have been men and women. You know, when I
- 1:33:35Speaker 18: first came in, the tournaments were actually called the Men's Open.
- 1:33:40Speaker 18: They were actually called that. So we changed everything and
- 1:33:43Speaker 18: just said it's open. It's all free for like, you know, anyone,
- 1:33:45Speaker 18: it's an open.
- 1:33:46Speaker 11: It's an open.
- 1:33:47Speaker 18: And you know there are you know, just female only
- 1:33:51Speaker 18: player like tournaments. And so I understand the schedules a
- 1:33:54Speaker 18: little bit stats so we don't always get as many
- 1:33:57Speaker 18: you know, women players, is what I would hope in
- 1:33:59Speaker 18: our main open tourns.
- 1:34:00Speaker 11: But we do get the juniors.
- 1:34:02Speaker 18: But aren't you know, just off of the back of
- 1:34:05Speaker 18: these events that we've been doing this year, we launched
- 1:34:08Speaker 18: next Gen and so that will be happening at the
- 1:34:11Speaker 18: Florida Open as well.
- 1:34:13Speaker 9: Very good.
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: You have everybody whos already registered ready to go.
- 1:34:15Speaker 18: Everyone's registered. We do the drawer the day before launch
- 1:34:19Speaker 18: this new thing called Phrasers Cup. My guys, my team
- 1:34:22Speaker 18: hate it because it is absolute carnage and it's.
- 1:34:25Speaker 11: Basically what do you know.
- 1:34:27Speaker 18: What I noticed is that we were doing these junior
- 1:34:29Speaker 18: events and these thirty two kids would all show up
- 1:34:33Speaker 18: right the night before they come in. They get a jersey,
- 1:34:36Speaker 18: we give them a jersey, it's got their name on
- 1:34:37Speaker 18: the back. Get them ready like a pro. Parents are
- 1:34:41Speaker 18: coming along, they check them in, they get their lanyard,
- 1:34:44Speaker 18: they get their jersey, and they can go practice. So
- 1:34:47Speaker 18: they're now practicing on these tables and they're in little clicks.
- 1:34:52Speaker 18: Some people don't know anyone, so they're on their own.
- 1:34:55Speaker 18: And I noticed that basically none of them are really
- 1:34:58Speaker 18: communicating with one another, and they're torn. It was the
- 1:35:00Speaker 18: next day, so I just started like a Scotch doubles
- 1:35:03Speaker 18: event the night before a little bit, yeah, and I
- 1:35:06Speaker 18: basically was like, right, everyone find one person that you
- 1:35:09Speaker 18: don't know, different height, and you have to partner with them.
- 1:35:12Speaker 11: And they're like, oh my gosh, like this first of all,
- 1:35:14Speaker 11: this lady.
- 1:35:15Speaker 18: Is like I never wanted, right, and they're looking at
- 1:35:19Speaker 18: me just like and some of them, I think some
- 1:35:21Speaker 18: of them were like we were in Europe for this event,
- 1:35:24Speaker 18: and some of them didn't speak very good English. And
- 1:35:26Speaker 18: then they're just like she's saying kind of thing and
- 1:35:30Speaker 18: it's the mean British ladies. Yeah, I know, just like
- 1:35:33Speaker 18: she's just like talking so much. But we started it
- 1:35:37Speaker 18: and it was really good, and the parents were coming
- 1:35:39Speaker 18: over to me and they were going, this is the
- 1:35:41Speaker 18: best thing because you gave them match practice, you partnered
- 1:35:45Speaker 18: them with someone. And also my daughter just met a
- 1:35:47Speaker 18: new friend.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, that's very cool.
- 1:35:52Speaker 18: Yeah, and you're also and one of the kids called
- 1:35:56Speaker 18: Jack Briggs, and his younger brother also played. They played
- 1:35:59Speaker 18: each other in a semi five. He's won two of
- 1:36:01Speaker 18: our events. And his mom came up to me when
- 1:36:03Speaker 18: we were in Vietnam and we were doing the Hanoi
- 1:36:06Speaker 18: Open and he just won it the junior event. She
- 1:36:09Speaker 18: come up to me and she said, Emily, when Jack
- 1:36:12Speaker 18: told me he wanted to be a professional pool player,
- 1:36:15Speaker 18: I told him no, because it's not professional.
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: There's no money in it.
- 1:36:20Speaker 18: Then you come along with World nine All Tour and
- 1:36:23Speaker 18: you actually showed that it is professional because we put
- 1:36:26Speaker 18: them on the live stream table, we kit them out
- 1:36:28Speaker 18: with their jerseys, we do media interviews with them, but
- 1:36:31Speaker 18: we're not throwing them in the deep end. We're just
- 1:36:33Speaker 18: trying to teach them so then when they do get
- 1:36:36Speaker 18: ready for the main event, they're.
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: Ready to go. They're good to go. Why is nine
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: ball the king of billiard's games? You know everybody that
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: when you out and play around with your friends. It's
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: always you know, just like solids and stripes kind of thing.
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: You know what made nine ball the game? Just the history, Yeah,
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: just the history of it.
- 1:36:53Speaker 18: And also obviously it originated over here in America, and
- 1:36:57Speaker 18: you know we are a lot more. You know, there
- 1:37:01Speaker 18: is a lot more nine ball over here in the UK.
- 1:37:04Speaker 18: It's very much like English Paul, which is like spots
- 1:37:08Speaker 18: it's red and yellow right, smaller table, whereas nine ball
- 1:37:13Speaker 18: it's dramatic. So anyone that I get into our space
- 1:37:17Speaker 18: that is not to do with Paul. Sports fans ex.
- 1:37:21Speaker 18: Pro footballers, they come in, they go, oh, I like
- 1:37:24Speaker 18: this game. It's not like that pub game.
- 1:37:26Speaker 5: I know.
- 1:37:27Speaker 18: It's what I've been trying to tell you the whole time.
- 1:37:29Speaker 18: It's you know, you can do all the graft, is
- 1:37:32Speaker 18: what I say. You do all the graft, do the graph.
- 1:37:33Speaker 18: You get to nine ball, you dog get like Tyler
- 1:37:35Speaker 18: Steyer and your opponent's approad won the rack.
- 1:37:38Speaker 11: But it's good for TV.
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: Make one mistake can cost you everything. It's a really
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: difficult game. And I want to know where can people
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: get tickets? I know that we're talking about that. You
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: could walk right up to this event and get right in.
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: Can you know.
- 1:37:49Speaker 18: Yes, that's the beautiful thing about the Florida Open You
- 1:37:53Speaker 18: can come up to the cree Broyal, go to the
- 1:37:55Speaker 18: Convention Space, come to the door and just say I
- 1:37:58Speaker 18: want to buy a ticket Florida and you get day tickets.
- 1:38:01Speaker 18: We can give you a cheaper season ticket. So we're
- 1:38:04Speaker 18: really accommodating there. And because it is a big open space,
- 1:38:07Speaker 18: you can walk along, you can bring your friends, you
- 1:38:09Speaker 18: can bring your families. You don't have to be quiet
- 1:38:11Speaker 18: walking around the arena. You can get a beer in,
- 1:38:14Speaker 18: you can buy merchandise. You can also have a go
- 1:38:17Speaker 18: on the tables or really, yes, that is something we're
- 1:38:20Speaker 18: bringing in Friday night Saturday.
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: Like a fan experience.
- 1:38:23Speaker 11: Yes, beer pro have a go.
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: No, I like that.
- 1:38:27Speaker 11: You just got to have a ticket. You come along.
- 1:38:29Speaker 18: You can come along on your own. You can bring
- 1:38:31Speaker 18: a friend or a maximum four people and you play
- 1:38:34Speaker 18: Scotch doubles. We give you some beer. Sounds great right.
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: For you?
- 1:38:41Speaker 18: And yeah, you come in, have a go and you
- 1:38:45Speaker 18: have thirty minutes on a table. You might meet two
- 1:38:47Speaker 18: new people or three new people, and then you can
- 1:38:50Speaker 18: go watch the pros play in the.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: Last sixteen or maybe discover a love for a sport
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: that you didn't think you would be good at, or
- 1:38:56Speaker 3: have a proclivity to, or anything exactly.
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: If you at a World nine Balltour dot com that's
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: World nine Balltour dot com, you can actually see the event.
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: You can click right there, find out all the information,
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: find the players that are playing there, how they're ranked.
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: You can kind of find a favorite player. You can
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: see who the best players are, go to their tables
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: and watch them play, pick up some tips whatever. I mean.
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: I'm sure there's a bunch of stuff to do while
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: you're there.
- 1:39:20Speaker 11: There is loads.
- 1:39:21Speaker 18: We've got a pool table in the foyer as well,
- 1:39:24Speaker 18: so you know, you can get taught by some of
- 1:39:27Speaker 18: our pundits that are there, do some trick shots. You
- 1:39:29Speaker 18: can buy some jerseys, and like I said, yeah, you
- 1:39:32Speaker 18: can have a go on the tables there. But the
- 1:39:34Speaker 18: players are so humble and they're great. You can get
- 1:39:36Speaker 18: autographs and things like that. It's a real cool day
- 1:39:40Speaker 18: out or evening out, so don't feel like you've got
- 1:39:43Speaker 18: to be sat there in silence. You can walk around
- 1:39:45Speaker 18: the tables.
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: Yeah it's oh yeah, yeah, no, Emily, do you play?
- 1:39:49Speaker 11: Oh gosh no, People.
- 1:39:54Speaker 18: Ask me this all the time, okay, and I don't
- 1:39:57Speaker 18: like people knowing that I'm awful at it. I know
- 1:40:01Speaker 18: I've just said this on air, so you won't find footage, rare,
- 1:40:06Speaker 18: rare footage of me playing Paul because I don't want
- 1:40:09Speaker 18: anyone to know.
- 1:40:10Speaker 11: I like people just thinking can she play?
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: I don't know that question out there.
- 1:40:14Speaker 18: But I'm lucky. No, I'm very, very lucky. So never
- 1:40:22Speaker 18: play me for money because somehow I will just make
- 1:40:24Speaker 18: the ball. But I didn't start off playing poor or
- 1:40:29Speaker 18: anything like that. I started because I worked at match
- 1:40:32Speaker 18: Room and followed my heart, you know what I wanted
- 1:40:36Speaker 18: to do there, and I fell in love with my
- 1:40:38Speaker 18: bore Paul.
- 1:40:39Speaker 11: And I've fallen in love with wanting to promote the sport.
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: Well, look, man, it's gonna be a great event out there.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: It's koreeb but Royale. If you're a local, you know
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: where it is. You can walk right up, grab your ticket.
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: It's going to be from the fourth until the night,
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: so you have plenty of days to slide down there
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: and see some of the best billiards players on planet Earth.

- 1:43:54Speaker 2: All right, Michelle, you know the deal. Here we're trying
- 1:43:56Speaker 2: to find the fake one. Are you ready?
- 1:43:58Speaker 20: Ready for it?
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: Here we go. Number one, Clash of the tight Ones.
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: Number two, Stuffing her Stockings. Number three Legs Benedict or
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: lastly or lastly bung Chways you got that with that one? Hang,
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: I'm going I think I'm going for No. Stuffing your
- 1:44:33Speaker 2: stockings is an actual It's an actual adul film title
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: for sure. One, three, four or five? Still? Five? Five
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: sounds good. Let's go do a Jennifer, Jennifer, how you
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: doing Hey? How are you doing good? Jennifer? We're playing
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: all around to pick the porn? Here? Tell me which
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: one of these is not an actual adult film title.
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: Number one, Clash of the tight Ones, number two, Legs
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: Benedict or lastly bung Hway. I'm going with Legs Benedett. No,
- 1:45:09Speaker 2: that is an actual dope film title. She's so disappointed
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: that she nailed. It's like, it's definitely Legs Benedict. All right, Deborah,
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: it is one, three or four? Let's go four. Sounds good, Becky,
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: how are you? I'm good glad to hear that, Becky.
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: Get a fifty to fifty shot here? Which one of
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: these is not an actual adult film title? Number one
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: Clash of the tight Ones or bung Chhway number one?
- 1:45:41Speaker 2: That is the one day But hold, you have chosen
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: the right adult film title, Becky. You know you're porn
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: good girl. And we only had one other that was
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: a short morning this morning to the other one that
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: did not make the list was the Slutty Professor. Is
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: that a real one? That's a real one. That's a
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: real one. Yeah, for sure. A right to pick the porn.
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: All done, Becky is the winner. I look, when I
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: saw bunks By today, I was like, we're done. I'm like,
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: we're done. That's it all done? Done for the bit
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: done for my life. Done. Just we're done. We're just done.
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: Don't about it. Literally just closed my computer and started
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: praying our cigarette and a band aid for forgiveness exactly.
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: Man was like, okay, that's I mean these guys. Look,
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: I'm like, why aren't these guys writing comedy? I mean,
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: some of these names are so good. Look, and I
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: will tell you the crazy part is there are maybe
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: twenty five percent of them that are literally one word
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: or one letter off of being usable. Really because you know,
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: we the whole idea is to make it, you know,
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: as funny as possible, that even gross. And there are
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: certain words I'll kind of rule out that if they're
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: in the name at all, I just won't say it.
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: I don't blame you. And and even though I can.
- 1:46:56Speaker 3: Say it, you want to get he's so good. Yeah,
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: we're gonna want to avoid certain words, Yeah for sure.
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: Right for a descriptive words or nine six four one Again,
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: you can always text us at seven seven zero three

- 1:47:17Speaker 2: We're gonna do a little segment that we have Brian
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: Grimes and Jayden Rhymes. They will both be in Father
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: and Son and the reason we're bringing them in. Jayden
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: usually does the eight bit here. He didn't have time
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: to prep it. It doesn't really matter. He can give us
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: a little bit of news that he wants. But they've
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: been working together all week as producer and host of
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: the show as they've kind of handled duties for Brandon
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: and Mike as they've been out on vacation. So I'm
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: kind of interested to hear what that's been like for them.
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: We've done them both for so many years. I've been
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: Brian for twenty years.
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: I know, But I think about it. How many other
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: father and sons do you guys know working together?
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: I mean outside of maybe you know a machine shop,
- 1:47:54Speaker 3: or you'll get something where you could apprentice your father
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: be apprenticeship.
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: Say, I worked with my dad. It was a complete nightmare.
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: I will tell you straight up. I weren't my dad
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: at the print shop. I actually wind up buying his
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: print shop. And it was a nightmare working for my
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: old man. I mean because then I lived with him
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: at the time as well for a period of.
- 1:48:11Speaker 4: Time father and son and son and son is Morgan
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: and Morgan and Morgan and oh yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: Harris Ross would say Morgan and Morgan and Morgan and Morgan.
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna guess with the Morgans, though. It makes it
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: a tiny bit easier when your family's like worth a
- 1:48:22Speaker 2: trillion gillion dollars. I don't know though, I no more money,
- 1:48:27Speaker 2: more problem. That's right, all right, days back in the set.

- 1:49:47Speaker 2: the horrifying part is in those percentages you will never

- 1:50:52Speaker 22: Listen, there is nothing wrong with doing an infinity bottle.
- 1:50:56Speaker 22: And I've had people try mine that no bourbon and
- 1:50:59Speaker 22: can actually taste the notes and they think it's delicious.
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: And once you become.
- 1:51:06Speaker 22: A master blender like myself, you can really learn to appreciate.
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: What an infinity bottle.
- 1:51:11Speaker 22: This cheers, folks.
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: That was Eric, We refer to him off and on
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: this show. But I didn't know he was also a
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: nakein wheel driver, you know. Yeah. Somebody actually checked in
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: after that and said, I've tasted some of Eric's Infinity
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: bottles and I've done that myself and it's really good. Yeah,
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: I would not do that. You can do all the
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: Infinity the bottles you want. Did I try one of his?
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: You did, and you liked it?
- 1:51:37Speaker 16: You're a liar, No, I do, because he gave it
- 1:51:39Speaker 16: those little like glass bottles that the poker turned him
- 1:51:42Speaker 16: in a year ago.
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: Is that what that was? I believe? So its blend
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: was blend. Yeah, I've got something at home. Were you
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: She's sitting on it, letting, Hey, you're six o'clock. He
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: word his check CG C. King go to a real
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: radiodut of him and send that away. Your chance at
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: one thousand dollars checks the word, guys, go get your money.
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: Neat it. Love to get a surprise wonder before we
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: get out. I'm Jim, deb and Jack are here as well. Indeed, Yeah,
- 1:52:13Speaker 2: we talked about this story the other day. They just
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: have this to kind of end up. Did you guys
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: see that New York is suing Calshi. Yes, we knew
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: it was coming right. Matter of fact, I think when
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: I when I first learned about poly markets, I was like,
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: just start the countdown clock. It's just a matter of
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: time before somebody sues them. I mean they say it's
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: illegally illegal gambling. You can say whatever you want. It
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: takes no skill, is what they're saying. It's a chance
- 1:52:34Speaker 2: game like anything. Poker players have fault with this for
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: many years, trying to get people to realize that it's
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: not It is gambling by the nature of it, but
- 1:52:42Speaker 2: it is a skill game. That's the reason you see
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: this When you watch these big tournaments, the same players
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: are always towards the top. Yeah.
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean it wasn't a skilled game, I
- 1:52:52Speaker 3: would still be I'd be at the head.
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: Table at the end of the poker tournament.
- 1:52:56Speaker 16: Yes, sorry, maybe that's their problem.
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: No, I didn't get any of that. And the other
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: The other thing I saw today is something we talked
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: about briefly. This is like a few weeks back. So
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: the Grammy nominations are coming down, right, did you guys
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: see the controversy with the Grammys. I did not have you. No. Yeah,
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: so it's crazy right. So, do you remember when we
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: brought the Grammys up? It really had nothing to do
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: because I don't really know many of the artists, but
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: one of the artists everybody knows and Joy this artist.
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: That's great. This artist has their boycotting the Grammys because
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: of something. Oh yeah, if you remember, the Grammys created
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: new categories, okay, and one of the categories I remember
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: when we read the story was like, that seems really
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: out of tune for especially in an organization like the Grammys.
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: You would think if there was any quote and I'm
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: not saying this to say it, but like you know,
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: really progressive organization, that would be really kind of uh yeah,
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: mindful of the room. You. I just couldn't believe they
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: did it because it didn't make any sense. And what
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: I'm talking about is this, The Grammys created a new
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: category for this year for Best Asian Pop Band, right,
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: and BTS obviously would be the dominant factor in any
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: Asian I guess maybe K pop demon Hunters would be
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: involved in that as well. Maybe yep. But they're boycotting
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: because they're like, why does it have to be an
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: Asian pop band? Why can't it just be a pop band?
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: Why couldn't we compete no differently than like in Sync
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: or Backstreet Boys or New Kids or any of those
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: people did good for them. I agree one thousand percent.
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: Like I agree one thousand percent. When I heard the
- 1:54:38Speaker 2: Grammys did that, I was like, what are they doing?
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: Like that is the most unneeded dividing thing I've ever
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: heard the Grammys do, outside of say, jethro Tole is
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: the best heavy metal band. Yeah, a band that hasn't
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: made music in twenty five years made out Metallica. But
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: well they were making music at the time when they
- 1:54:56Speaker 2: won Jimmy. But I could not agree more. And the
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: funny thing I just learned about this a couple days ago.
- 1:55:01Speaker 2: I said, you know, BTS is is boycounting to the Grammys.
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: I'm like, Oh, what's going on here? You know that's
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: a And by the way, for South Koreans or Asians
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: in general, to make a statement of that nature, I
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: think is kind of a big deal, right, isn't that
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: isn't the nature of that culture to kind of be uh,
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: what's the word I'm looking for? Do you guys know
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: what I'm talking about? There be more affable or agreeable
- 1:55:21Speaker 2: maybe for the sake of unity. No, is it not accurate?
- 1:55:25Speaker 12: No?
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: Do you understand what I'm trying to say there.
- 1:55:28Speaker 4: Though, Yeah, I'm trying to find the words myself where
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: you just acquiesced more.
- 1:55:33Speaker 2: Yes, that's the perfect word to not cause problems one
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: and boy, they didn't at all. They're like, look, man,
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: I mean Asian band, do you have a I mean
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: do you have a.
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: Well they could have declined respectfully, but not just saying
- 1:55:47Speaker 4: that's not for us.
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: But it's interesting though, because they do have a Latin
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: music category.
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: That's what we talked about at the time, right, but
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: and they used to and again the other time is
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: that they used to have you know, are R and B. Well,
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: it doesn't matter, that doesn't matter, we do it could
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: be anything, but Latin music is done in a different language.
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: I just realized when I say.
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: Singing in English, Yes, which is your favorite member of
- 1:56:12Speaker 4: bt S? Well, I don't take a guess.
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: I think I know one of them, like personally, no,
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: been in the house. No, I'm trying to think of
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: which one I know, because there's one that's like they
- 1:56:28Speaker 2: all have, you know, there's always there's always the just
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: do not say there look alike? No, No, you do
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: not go there. When I was saying, they like the
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: boy bands always have the one breakout guy, right, there's
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: always like the the one Jonas brother or Justin Timberlake
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: or you know, or any of those guys. You think
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: it's Jay Hope. J Hope is one of them? Or
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: Jin Jin's the one?
- 1:56:51Speaker 5: I know?
- 1:56:52Speaker 4: O j j I N Right? Is it jin or
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: is it Jim It's jimmen or something like that? Oh,
- 1:56:57Speaker 4: jim In is another one?
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: Is it really? Yeah? Are there? They all have Jay?
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: They're like nine of them. Junk Cook Junk Cook is
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: a real popular and I believe right it is. Yeah,
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: there's seven, seven of them. You know, that's a whole
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: bunch of BTS's the Bankton Boys? Is that what that
- 1:57:13Speaker 2: stands for? I have? What does this stand for? What
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: does BTS stand for? I don't know.
- 1:57:19Speaker 4: Bang Tan Boys is a South Korean boy band. They're
- 1:57:22Speaker 4: also known as Bangtan Boys and and uh k pop Demon.
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: They're also Korean? Are they not correct? Yeah? And the
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: lead singer there she wanted to be a K pop
- 1:57:34Speaker 4: star and they rejected her, and then she came to
- 1:57:37Speaker 4: fame doing her.
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: Own Huh, how do you know this does your daughter
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: a K. I watched the Grammy do you really?
- 1:57:46Speaker 3: Yeah, he's our he's our Award Show aficionado. He will
- 1:57:49Speaker 3: watch it from pre show through the award show to
- 1:57:52Speaker 3: the post award.
- 1:57:53Speaker 4: Got to see what they're wearing on the red carpet.
- 1:57:55Speaker 4: Got to see if they get changed for when they
- 1:57:58Speaker 4: go intoide.
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: Do all do any of the Korean guys like do
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: perms or anything or their hair or doing Do they
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: all have the straight hair? It looks pretty sure, but
- 1:58:06Speaker 2: they don't. There's never a wavy Korean guy hair. There
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: is no, no, no. And you got the highlight guy
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: and highlights or nothing that's highlights. Do they curl? They do?
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: Explore different? You don't know they do? You know explore?
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: I know, Well, tell me which one is it? Junkok?
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: I don't think it's I think it's I think it's V.
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: Is it VB? Is there one name VV? There is
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: one name? B? Really? Yeah? Yeah? I know? How are
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: those guys? I got the trading car. We know that
- 1:58:35Speaker 2: they went into what they all did their military. Yeah,
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: they did the military service and then they came back
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: out and did that tour. I remember when they went
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: into service. I'm like you want to see a big tour,
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: wait till these dudes, wait these wait till the wait
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: till the young ladies have to wait two years to
- 1:58:48Speaker 2: see these guys again.
- 1:58:49Speaker 4: I don't know they you even kind of they they
- 1:58:53Speaker 4: So they were gone for two years and when they
- 1:58:55Speaker 4: came back, I remember you questioned, He's like, yeah, I
- 1:58:57Speaker 4: don't know if they still got it.
- 1:58:59Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:59:00Speaker 4: And then release they released, and they were like, oh god,
- 1:59:03Speaker 4: it's like wait what.
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: People were trading babies for this. It's like crazy. Yeah,
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: And they sold out like Matt Madison Square Garden, like
- 1:59:12Speaker 2: a hundred thousand times in a row or something. That's crazy.
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: Can I ask a question? It's fair because here's the thing.
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: Here we go, Jay Hope has bound with with our
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: boy bands, there's at least a couple of the members
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: of the band that actually play an instrument, Like within Sync,
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: I know J. C. Shawse and Justin Timberlake both play
- 1:59:31Speaker 2: an instrument. I think Lance Bats also played piano. Timberlake
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: plays piano and guitar. I think J. C. Shawse also
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: played piano and guitar. Do any of the members of
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: BTS actually play an instrument? Are they just like dancers?
- 1:59:45Speaker 2: And singers. Do you know it all? I don't.
- 1:59:48Speaker 4: Well, in the performances i've seen, it's just dancing. Yes,
- 1:59:53Speaker 4: I have not seen them play instrument. Yeah, because it's
- 1:59:55Speaker 4: more of pop music, so you could use a lot more.
- 2:00:00Speaker 2: Yeah. But baby Metal, I mean, which is a Japanese
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: metal band with three little Japanese girls. I mean they
- 2:00:05Speaker 2: play their instruments, don't they. But they're women. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: they're women now yeah yeah, but what does that make
- 2:00:11Speaker 2: a difference?
- 2:00:11Speaker 3: I mean just because well, metal not a dance act exactly.
- 2:00:15Speaker 3: Metal requires you know, drums and yeah.
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: That'd be funny though, to have a dance act metal band. Yes,
- 2:00:23Speaker 2: what you wanted? Seven guests and I got it right.
- 2:00:25Speaker 2: Va is the one with the hair style? Yeah yeah,
- 2:00:28Speaker 2: and you're pumping fist of that, are you? That's nice?
- 2:00:31Speaker 2: All right? I thought it was going to be the
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: baseball game, but my bad. You go to learn how
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: to be wrong sometimes, but especially when the contents there. Yeah,
- 2:00:39Speaker 2: Yankees beat the couch. Yeah. I would just look up
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: and see if BTS, any member of BTS plays an instrument. Please.
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: I looked at the Wickededia page. Doesn't look it doesn't
- 2:00:48Speaker 2: say anything, not even a harmonica.
- 2:00:51Speaker 3: Yeah no, no, tambourine players probably not.
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: How about those things that women wear on the that
- 2:00:56Speaker 2: the Indian women wear on their fingers, the finger symbols? Yeah,
- 2:00:58Speaker 2: what are they called finger? Your symbol? There's a word
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: for it that castinets.
- 2:01:05Speaker 3: Well, that's the Spanish, that's the wooden Oh yeah, yeah.
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: The finger symbols are literally finger symbols.
- 2:01:11Speaker 2: There's a name for him, is there not? I never
- 2:01:13Speaker 2: learned the Indian name for them.
- 2:01:15Speaker 3: When I took belly dancing, they were just called finger symbols.
- 2:01:20Speaker 2: We've talked about this before. Not Wow, look at that.
- 2:01:26Speaker 3: It's almost time for Jade and Brian Grimes to join
- 2:01:30Speaker 3: us for his eight bit uptakes.
- 2:01:32Speaker 4: You don't want to have this conversation in front of
- 2:01:34Speaker 4: the boy, so you bet edish it now talk to
- 2:01:37Speaker 4: it about belly dancing?
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: Can you still do it? When did you get for
- 2:01:43Speaker 2: your husband? Oh that is a fantastic question.
- 2:01:46Speaker 3: Call him up and ask him, all right, don't you dare?
- 2:01:50Speaker 3: I know you already have my speed dial?
- 2:01:53Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, he's a wide eyed right now we can answer.
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: Do you have an outfit that belly do you?
- 2:01:59Speaker 5: I mean?
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: We when you belly dance? You have to have a
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: certain outfit, do you I did? I had my Yeah,
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: do you still have it? The veil and everything for
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: there it's abathing suit with like a pants.
- 2:02:12Speaker 3: That's that's one version of a belly dancing outfit. Yeah,
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: and then you have the belt with all the coins
- 2:02:17Speaker 3: on it jingles when you chimmy.
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: How would you take? How long did you do? Could
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: you for Jimmy?
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: Not shimmying for Jimmy? Jimmy, Shimmy, Jimmy and Jimmy.
- 2:02:30Speaker 2: When's the last time you belly danced?
- 2:02:32Speaker 3: This was and years? Yeah, it's a long time ago.
- 2:02:34Speaker 2: How long did you take? Lessons? A few months? What
- 2:02:36Speaker 2: led you to that? I love the dance form. It's
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: it's very sexy too, by the way, it is painfully.
- 2:02:43Speaker 3: But what's interesting is that what's accepted in the belly
- 2:02:46Speaker 3: dancing world is the complete opposite of what we like
- 2:02:49Speaker 3: in the Western world.
- 2:02:50Speaker 2: Oh really, Yeah, Like in belly.
- 2:02:52Speaker 3: Dancing in the Middle East, they want to see a belly.
- 2:02:55Speaker 3: They don't want to see flat apps right right right.
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: They want the bell, they want a little they want
- 2:02:59Speaker 2: some they a pooch, They want a little bit of
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: a pooch.
- 2:03:02Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah, they wouldn't be as attracted to Western
- 2:03:05Speaker 3: belly dancers as you think because they're too thin.
- 2:03:07Speaker 2: In their opinion, they want the belly. I want to
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: see you do it.
- 2:03:10Speaker 3: It makes me more qualified now than ever before. But
- 2:03:13Speaker 3: I won't do it.
- 2:03:14Speaker 2: I want to see you do it. But instead of
- 2:03:15Speaker 2: the little symbols, I let you to have cigarettes that
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: I can make it. I want to incorporate it. When
- 2:03:22Speaker 2: you bring the you bring it down and taking it
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: and then blow the smoke out, and it's a whole it's
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: an whole act. Oh, we can incorporate that. Sponsored by
- 2:03:31Speaker 2: Philip Morris. She's maybe gonna make it through the bit.
- 2:03:38Speaker 2: There's gonna be an intermission in this five minutes dance
- 2:03:40Speaker 2: bit right four O seven nine one again, you can
- 2:03:43Speaker 2: always text us at seven to seven zero three ones myself.
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: You know what it's good for the show. That's what
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: you do is your team player. Check is the word
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: guy c HG c K. Go to real radio doubt
- 2:03:53Speaker 2: if him and send that off for your chance at
- 2:03:55Speaker 2: one thousand dollars. We'll have Jaden Grimes and Brian Grimes
- 2:03:58Speaker 2: here in one sec.
- 2:04:04Speaker 10: The Grammys are breaking down categories like this, Let mean
- 2:04:08Speaker 10: what about the best Canadian pop group. They might sing
- 2:04:11Speaker 10: about Maple Syrup, but hey, they got pop groups two.
- 2:04:13Speaker 10: I'm pretty sure yeah, Rush is gonna be the best
- 2:04:16Speaker 10: rapper of the year, the best Black rapper, the best
- 2:04:18Speaker 10: White rapper of the best Asian rapper, the best Latino rapper.
- 2:04:25Speaker 10: I say, you know, the Grammy is gonna be like
- 2:04:27Speaker 10: eight hours long.
- 2:04:28Speaker 23: You mean like the controversy with BTS was they can't
- 2:04:32Speaker 23: be in the Asian Pop band category because most of
- 2:04:36Speaker 23: their album is in English and a certain percentage of
- 2:04:39Speaker 23: your album has to be in the native language of
- 2:04:43Speaker 23: whatever Asian country you're from to be nominated, So they
- 2:04:47Speaker 23: can't be nominated for the Asian Pop and I guess
- 2:04:50Speaker 23: they can't be nominated for a regular pop whatever.
- 2:04:53Speaker 4: Now for something you don't get on Excel or the game,
- 2:05:02Speaker 4: Oh my.
- 2:05:03Speaker 17: Goom, hit the candle, flip the bagage out a boy,
- 2:05:09Speaker 17: go get up.
- 2:05:12Speaker 2: That one actually scared me and I knew who that was.
- 2:05:18Speaker 2: That is going to require a brand new autobox and
- 2:05:21Speaker 2: some short it will phone cover. There is gonna be Hey,
- 2:05:24Speaker 2: your six o'clock keyword is checked that c CHG c K.
- 2:05:28Speaker 2: Go to real radio dot FM and send that away
- 2:05:29Speaker 2: for your chance at one thousand dollars. Check. Guys, that
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: is your six o'clock he word, good luck. We hope
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: you in man really would love to get at least
- 2:05:38Speaker 2: one more winter today. I'll be nice. Welcome back on Jim,
- 2:05:41Speaker 2: there's dead got pink guy from that callback check is
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: here as well. Oh yeah, and let's do eight bit update.
- 2:05:50Speaker 9: On real Radio. Ready for your quick hit on gaming news,
- 2:05:56Speaker 9: reviews and a little chaos as Pop Pomp tries. Gaming
- 2:06:01Speaker 9: Update with Jane starts.
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: Now, yeah, that's good leveraging rhyme. She's squared. Look at
- 2:06:13Speaker 2: him flex and I love it. I was itching, but
- 2:06:15Speaker 2: you know which ways the g This is the first
- 2:06:17Speaker 2: time in the history of the show we've had a
- 2:06:19Speaker 2: father's son duo uh in the uh in the studio.
- 2:06:23Speaker 24: With you here, Yeah, with you here. We've done this before.
- 2:06:25Speaker 2: That's right, one day when you were out.
- 2:06:26Speaker 3: Yeah, he pops all the fun stuff when you're not here.
- 2:06:29Speaker 2: Look, I know that, and I appreciate that. I really do.
- 2:06:32Speaker 2: I realize I'm a bummer. What how you doing?
- 2:06:36Speaker 24: Oh man, I'm doing great. It's gonna be a different
- 2:06:38Speaker 24: segment than that we usually have.
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: It's fine. You don't have to have gaming news every
- 2:06:42Speaker 2: single time. Man, It's a I mean, is there anything
- 2:06:44Speaker 2: out there right off, right off, rip.
- 2:06:45Speaker 24: Off the top of my head. I haven't seen anything
- 2:06:47Speaker 24: that really stands out to me.
- 2:06:49Speaker 2: I think. So the only thing I saw today is
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: is I saw is like Sony CEOs take back lash
- 2:06:56Speaker 2: and quietly move forward with the no disc things. In
- 2:06:59Speaker 2: other words, they sat in a room and just took
- 2:07:01Speaker 2: this ass whipping they've been taking now for like the
- 2:07:03Speaker 2: last three weeks since the decision was made not to
- 2:07:06Speaker 2: release any hard discs for games, and they just kind
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: of were crawling out of the cave now to see
- 2:07:11Speaker 2: how the weather is.
- 2:07:13Speaker 24: Yeah, I mean they're just really like poking their head
- 2:07:14Speaker 24: out to see if everyone still hates them. I mean,
- 2:07:16Speaker 24: the Xbox and PlayStation servers went down not too long ago,
- 2:07:20Speaker 24: like this week. It's kind of weird. I think T
- 2:07:22Speaker 24: Mobile went out the same day as well.
- 2:07:23Speaker 2: Wow.
- 2:07:24Speaker 24: Yeah, just services going down this week.
- 2:07:26Speaker 2: And it's funny because Jack had mentioned the fourteen ninety
- 2:07:29Speaker 2: nine red Dead redemption too, right, Yes, yeah.
- 2:07:33Speaker 4: It expired on Sunday at the Xbox Store. I reminded Jim,
- 2:07:36Speaker 4: I said him a text. On Sunday, I'm like, you
- 2:07:38Speaker 4: gotta get this. You still don't have it.
- 2:07:40Speaker 2: He didn't get it, this guy, I don't. And the
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: other thing to me. I got the text, I looked
- 2:07:45Speaker 2: at it and I go, oh, it's fine. And then
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: I did not do anything. And then we had a
- 2:07:50Speaker 2: guy called yesterday and go, thanks Jack for the heads up.
- 2:07:53Speaker 2: I went and bought Red Dead down and playing. It's
- 2:07:54Speaker 2: the greatest thing I've ever done in my life. Oh,
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: I got my white Arabian horse last night. Oh, Kizzabella man,
- 2:08:01Speaker 2: I had to chase that. Such a racist you played me?
- 2:08:07Speaker 2: You play Red Dead? Yeah, I've finished.
- 2:08:08Speaker 20: I've played Red Dead two through maybe three times, and
- 2:08:11Speaker 20: now I'm just playing for fun, doing stuff I hadn't
- 2:08:14Speaker 20: done before.
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: So why would you play it through and then go
- 2:08:16Speaker 2: back and play it again? Because is it the fact
- 2:08:18Speaker 2: that even though you played it through, there are experiences
- 2:08:20Speaker 2: you can have that you didn't have.
- 2:08:22Speaker 20: The d and the way you act, and because it's
- 2:08:25Speaker 20: an open world game, the way you act affects the
- 2:08:27Speaker 20: storyline and the way your character is. So you go
- 2:08:29Speaker 20: this time and you do all good things, you go
- 2:08:31Speaker 20: this time and you be a jack hole the whole time.
- 2:08:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:08:34Speaker 20: So, and there are certain challenges I didn't do because
- 2:08:37Speaker 20: I didn't rob townspeople before because I was being good.
- 2:08:39Speaker 2: So now I'm going through and rob people. So yeah,
- 2:08:42Speaker 2: it's fun.
- 2:08:44Speaker 20: And when you just get it's like when you get bored,
- 2:08:46Speaker 20: you just jump on it, ride the range for a
- 2:08:48Speaker 20: little bit.
- 2:08:48Speaker 2: Have you already?
- 2:08:49Speaker 24: Have you gotten through it like eight times?
- 2:08:51Speaker 2: Dude? Come on? Are you serious?
- 2:08:53Speaker 11: Yes?
- 2:08:53Speaker 24: I have seriously beat that game about eight times.
- 2:08:55Speaker 2: So when you say beat it, is it a game
- 2:08:57Speaker 2: you beat or is a game you just play? You finished? Yeah,
- 2:08:59Speaker 2: you've finished. You've a shit, you beat it?
- 2:09:00Speaker 24: Same thing. I finished that story about eight times over.
- 2:09:03Speaker 20: Once you finish it, they have like what the epilogue,
- 2:09:06Speaker 20: And then once you finish that, it's just open world.
- 2:09:08Speaker 2: You could do what you want for as long as
- 2:09:10Speaker 2: you want, and that basically it's like a playground. You
- 2:09:12Speaker 2: just go out there and just do stupid stuff. Yeah,
- 2:09:14Speaker 2: can you still gain points and do all the things
- 2:09:16Speaker 2: you need to do and pick up all the stuff
- 2:09:17Speaker 2: or once you've done that, is that it go? Yeah?
- 2:09:19Speaker 2: You can do all the collection? Really? Yeah, so you
- 2:09:22Speaker 2: say yeah, And again we talked to him about he
- 2:09:24Speaker 2: goes crazy about the price of these games. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:09:27Speaker 2: and I tell him, like, like, you you're bitching about
- 2:09:29Speaker 2: getting a game that can last you a month for
- 2:09:31Speaker 2: the same price of taking a girl to a movie
- 2:09:33Speaker 2: for a night. Yeah, like for for two and a
- 2:09:35Speaker 2: half hours. You're getting weeks of entertainment. And he's still
- 2:09:38Speaker 2: pissed off about it.
- 2:09:39Speaker 24: I'd rather play Xbox and take a girl to the movie.
- 2:09:41Speaker 4: Oh god, stop, dude, don't say that with hair. But
- 2:09:44Speaker 4: I got this game eight years ago. I'm still playing it. Yeah,
- 2:09:47Speaker 4: are they doing a three?
- 2:09:49Speaker 2: Who knows?
- 2:09:51Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the same people who bring you Grand Theft
- 2:09:54Speaker 4: Auto six and that's been in the works for twelve
- 2:09:56Speaker 4: years and they delayed that and now we're waiting for
- 2:09:59Speaker 4: November for that. So I can only imagine once they
- 2:10:02Speaker 4: announce Red Dead Redemption three, if they do, how far
- 2:10:06Speaker 4: out that would be.
- 2:10:07Speaker 2: It is a video game, but it hits me like,
- 2:10:10Speaker 2: isn't it. Is it considered like an adventure game or
- 2:10:12Speaker 2: there other like adventure games like this where you have
- 2:10:15Speaker 2: like a setting that you primarily saying it's not a
- 2:10:18Speaker 2: big shooter shooter shooter thing that you kind of go
- 2:10:20Speaker 2: out and wander around like, uh, you know, the open world.
- 2:10:26Speaker 2: To me, no, I've looked for something, so I don't
- 2:10:29Speaker 2: have to replay this. There are ones, but once you've
- 2:10:32Speaker 2: played Red Dead two, it kind of breaks the rest
- 2:10:34Speaker 2: of them for you.
- 2:10:35Speaker 24: For me, it's cyberpunk. I mean Jack can testify to this. Yeah,
- 2:10:39Speaker 24: you can walk around cyberpunk forever and really look at
- 2:10:42Speaker 24: a beautiful city and talk to every person you see.
- 2:10:45Speaker 2: Pretty much.
- 2:10:46Speaker 4: Well, if you like a dystopian future where people are
- 2:10:48Speaker 4: half machines, that's fine.
- 2:10:50Speaker 2: You're already half way down.
- 2:10:52Speaker 4: There's something romantic about being doing it in a cowboy setting.
- 2:10:57Speaker 4: And right today, like I started that head my cough,
- 2:11:00Speaker 4: I'm like, you know what, I'm going to ride my
- 2:11:01Speaker 4: white horse there you and I just you know, I
- 2:11:04Speaker 4: rode across.
- 2:11:04Speaker 2: New hand workout.
- 2:11:05Speaker 4: There's a bounty on my head, but I didn't pay
- 2:11:08Speaker 4: no mind New Handover.
- 2:11:10Speaker 2: It's a new Hampshire. Hey. Also, I had the one
- 2:11:14Speaker 2: thing I wanted to ask, you know, so back in
- 2:11:16Speaker 2: the day when these games, when this new level started,
- 2:11:18Speaker 2: it was like on CD and the and the graphics
- 2:11:20Speaker 2: were real. The quality was crazy. There's a game called
- 2:11:23Speaker 2: mist Do you remember that m yst and what it was?
- 2:11:27Speaker 2: It was like a logic game. Once you got into
- 2:11:28Speaker 2: a certain area. It was almost like an escape room
- 2:11:31Speaker 2: on video. You had kind of figure some things out
- 2:11:33Speaker 2: and you moved on to the next level. Are there
- 2:11:35Speaker 2: still games like that where there are like logic games
- 2:11:38Speaker 2: where you you have to figure out like like an
- 2:11:40Speaker 2: escape room kind of thing to move from one area
- 2:11:42Speaker 2: of the game to the next. Yeah.
- 2:11:44Speaker 4: I've played with Max in the Curse of the Brotherhood.
- 2:11:47Speaker 4: Are you familiar with that. It's a left to right scroller,
- 2:11:50Speaker 4: but you have there's a little logic based so you
- 2:11:53Speaker 4: had to solve puzzles and move on. And a lot
- 2:11:55Speaker 4: of games will incorporate some puzzle solving into it and
- 2:11:59Speaker 4: finding that right allans uh, you know, it depends.
- 2:12:02Speaker 2: On your taste. Yeah.
- 2:12:03Speaker 4: Yeah, but there's many games that have puzzle solving feats
- 2:12:07Speaker 4: and you can't continue until you kind of got it intellectually.
- 2:12:11Speaker 20: And that was back all the way to the Legend
- 2:12:12Speaker 20: of Zelda. Remember you have to move certain things certain
- 2:12:15Speaker 20: ways to move on to the next thing.
- 2:12:16Speaker 2: Yeahs favorite game in the world is Legends of That
- 2:12:19Speaker 2: was a great game, one of the best, the OG one. Yeah.
- 2:12:21Speaker 24: My favorite puzzle games are Lego games really yeah, oh yeah,
- 2:12:24Speaker 24: there's so many puzzles in those legs. Really sometimes I
- 2:12:26Speaker 24: have to google them because I I my brain just
- 2:12:28Speaker 24: doesn't work for these Lego games.
- 2:12:30Speaker 20: When he was growing up, we played That's what we
- 2:12:31Speaker 20: played together, is like the Lego Star Wars or the
- 2:12:34Speaker 20: Lego Harry Potter or whatever it is.
- 2:12:36Speaker 2: And we just say, you don't really play that though,
- 2:12:37Speaker 2: do you don't? You just kind of put it together.
- 2:12:39Speaker 2: Is that what you mean by the one leg video
- 2:12:40Speaker 2: games video?
- 2:12:41Speaker 3: Gah?
- 2:12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a go on video game.
- 2:12:43Speaker 4: Characters are the Lego people, just like it would be
- 2:12:46Speaker 4: in the Lego movie, got it?
- 2:12:47Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:12:48Speaker 24: Yeah, And it's for like every ip they have, Star Wars,
- 2:12:50Speaker 24: Indiana Jones, all of them.
- 2:12:52Speaker 2: Interesting. So what was it like we're going together this week?
- 2:12:54Speaker 2: Is this the first time you guys have done this?
- 2:12:56Speaker 20: By the way, Yeah, we've done a few breaks here
- 2:12:58Speaker 20: and there just to do it. We've never done a
- 2:13:00Speaker 20: live show together. No, never really, no, not until this week?
- 2:13:03Speaker 2: Have you have? You never sat in to produce for
- 2:13:06Speaker 2: Johnny's House? Never? Never? Once? Would that be a thing
- 2:13:09Speaker 2: that would ever happen, because yeah, I know that's kind
- 2:13:11Speaker 2: of because see does Johnny allow you guys? Do do
- 2:13:14Speaker 2: you ever host? Yeah? When Johnny's out a host. Okay,
- 2:13:16Speaker 2: you do that now, but he didn't do that for years.
- 2:13:18Speaker 20: For years, No, it was always best of we all
- 2:13:20Speaker 20: took vacation together. Yeah yeah, Why did he change? Well,
- 2:13:24Speaker 20: I think it got to be where you listen to
- 2:13:27Speaker 20: the show so many different ways now, Like before, if
- 2:13:29Speaker 20: you missed the show, you probably didn't catch it. But
- 2:13:31Speaker 20: now you either see it on YouTube or you hear
- 2:13:34Speaker 20: it on podcasts. So by the time it goes the
- 2:13:36Speaker 20: best Of, it's the third fourth time you've heard it.
- 2:13:38Speaker 20: So that's not really strong anymore. I mean, I I'm
- 2:13:43Speaker 20: on thirty radio stations now. I host afternoons here, Like
- 2:13:46Speaker 20: for me to not host my own morning show is
- 2:13:48Speaker 20: that borderline asinine at this point. So I think it
- 2:13:52Speaker 20: just became like, dude, this just makes sense, Like we
- 2:13:54Speaker 20: don't always want to take vacation together.
- 2:13:56Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but I'll say it. When I was in
- 2:13:58Speaker 2: the printing business for years and I work for my
- 2:14:00Speaker 2: dad's company, then I wound up buying it from him,
- 2:14:02Speaker 2: and I told these guys working with my old man
- 2:14:05Speaker 2: was one of the worst experiences of my entire life.
- 2:14:07Speaker 2: Even for a short period of time. We already didn't
- 2:14:10Speaker 2: kind of geil and we doubled it in jail when
- 2:14:12Speaker 2: there was money on the line. How was it for
- 2:14:14Speaker 2: you guys, I mean, you guys seem to be like
- 2:14:16Speaker 2: really cool with each other. I mean was it difficult?
- 2:14:19Speaker 2: I mean, was there a hierarchy because it's your station
- 2:14:22Speaker 2: and he was kind of a guest.
- 2:14:23Speaker 4: Yeah, well, well I got a question. What who is
- 2:14:25Speaker 4: the host of the show today?
- 2:14:27Speaker 24: Your boy, Jaden grind Yeah, all the last three days,
- 2:14:30Speaker 24: all three days.
- 2:14:30Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:14:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:14:31Speaker 20: To be fair, I was really concerned about like overrunning him,
- 2:14:36Speaker 20: like because I've been doing this for twenty five years, right,
- 2:14:38Speaker 20: so like I know what I'm doing. So for I
- 2:14:41Speaker 20: when I come in here, I play. It's fun because
- 2:14:44Speaker 20: I'm just a guest. But I was really mindful about
- 2:14:47Speaker 20: not taking over his show, and I was ready to
- 2:14:51Speaker 20: do it because I, to be fair, I didn't know
- 2:14:54Speaker 20: he was going to be good at it.
- 2:14:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he's really good. He never doesn't have anything
- 2:14:57Speaker 2: to say. And I will tell you, if you in
- 2:14:59Speaker 2: a conversationational business, which is what we are, conversation is
- 2:15:02Speaker 2: the number one asset. You know. You can be funny
- 2:15:05Speaker 2: or not be funny, but if you can be good
- 2:15:07Speaker 2: at conversation, you're still intriguing, you know it still it
- 2:15:11Speaker 2: still works that way, you know.
- 2:15:12Speaker 20: So on Wednesday, when he opened the show and he
- 2:15:14Speaker 20: opened the first break within the first ninety seconds, I
- 2:15:17Speaker 20: was like, oh, I'm a guest. I don't have to
- 2:15:19Speaker 20: worry about this perfectly. I mean the formattics that everything.
- 2:15:23Speaker 2: I think.
- 2:15:23Speaker 20: My guess is you have been paying attention to your
- 2:15:26Speaker 20: hosts and you took a lot in well.
- 2:15:27Speaker 24: As a producer, I feel like I have to pay
- 2:15:29Speaker 24: attention to my host That's my job.
- 2:15:31Speaker 20: Yeah, I've been here a long time seeing a lot
- 2:15:32Speaker 20: of producers that would definitely have screwed that up.
- 2:15:35Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, Jack is even in the room at
- 2:15:37Speaker 4: the time we do the show. No, no, no, no,
- 2:15:39Speaker 4: I left a long time ago. But so do you
- 2:15:42Speaker 4: give him that advice? Like did you tell him that
- 2:15:45Speaker 4: he did a good job before right now?
- 2:15:47Speaker 2: Yes? Yes, he told me multiple times. I'm trying to
- 2:15:49Speaker 2: decide what kind of dad you are because we have
- 2:15:51Speaker 2: some concerns.
- 2:15:52Speaker 20: Then there was a couple of times that I feel
- 2:15:55Speaker 20: like he overthought things. So during the break I waited
- 2:15:58Speaker 20: till him to say, hey, man, just breathe and be yourself,
- 2:16:00Speaker 20: like stop. Yeah, because people were giving him feedback. That's
- 2:16:04Speaker 20: one of the worst things that can har right. The
- 2:16:06Speaker 20: best way to kill a good idea is ask ten
- 2:16:08Speaker 20: people what they think.
- 2:16:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's the absolutely worst thing.
- 2:16:11Speaker 24: So yeah, and he not to get so heart seat
- 2:16:13Speaker 24: and you know, heartfelt, but he let me get a tissue.
- 2:16:16Speaker 2: Yeah you might wait, you might want you.
- 2:16:17Speaker 24: He's like my best friend, so there's no problem.
- 2:16:21Speaker 2: That's a good thing. Yeah, yeah, dad. When I was five, Oh,
- 2:16:25Speaker 2: how dare you bring us down? I know seriously? Yeah, wow,
- 2:16:29Speaker 2: my dad was too busy beating me to let it go.
- 2:16:32Speaker 2: Well he beat me first anyway. Guys. Well wait, wait, wait,
- 2:16:36Speaker 2: can we talk about the hair? What is wrong with
- 2:16:38Speaker 2: the hair? Guys, it's bad.
- 2:16:40Speaker 4: I want to I want to talk to your dad
- 2:16:42Speaker 4: about the hair. What's going on with your son's hair.
- 2:16:44Speaker 20: He's twenty one years old, and while he does live
- 2:16:46Speaker 20: in my house, it's not gonna you got my roof thing. Ye, yes,
- 2:16:51Speaker 20: but I wouldn't do that about your personal appearance. I mean,
- 2:16:53Speaker 20: you're still an independent person now. My wife, on the
- 2:16:56Speaker 20: other hand, she may shave it while.
- 2:16:58Speaker 2: He's asleep.
- 2:17:00Speaker 20: In room if she wasn't afraid to go in his
- 2:17:02Speaker 20: room because it's a literal garb.
- 2:17:05Speaker 2: Although you didn't take charge on the show, you probably
- 2:17:08Speaker 2: should hear you need a haircut, yeah, or put it
- 2:17:12Speaker 2: up in a bun or something. They can't see your eyes.
- 2:17:13Speaker 2: You're like a lama there there there, And it grew
- 2:17:17Speaker 2: like overnight, like two weeks ago, it didn't look like
- 2:17:19Speaker 2: this and all of a sudden, like did you just
- 2:17:20Speaker 2: squeeze throw this?
- 2:17:21Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 2:17:21Speaker 2: Since three acclamic. Here's the thing I have idhones.
- 2:17:27Speaker 20: I have a membership with Hammer and Nails. They've done
- 2:17:29Speaker 20: stuff with the so I have free credits. Like he
- 2:17:33Speaker 20: could get his haircut for free, like.
- 2:17:34Speaker 2: Dope hair cut, Like you can do the whole face thing.
- 2:17:37Speaker 2: They'll give you a manicure, the whole deal, that beard up.
- 2:17:40Speaker 2: You look like an amish worker.
- 2:17:41Speaker 20: They'll make you an old fashion while you do it.
- 2:17:43Speaker 20: He won't take the free credits. I'm like, dude, and
- 2:17:45Speaker 20: I come there twice twice in four years.
- 2:17:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:17:48Speaker 24: Every time I walk in there, they're like, mister six months,
- 2:17:51Speaker 24: how you doing?
- 2:17:53Speaker 2: I feel bad getting a judgment?
- 2:17:55Speaker 24: I am, and I feel bad getting a haircut at
- 2:17:58Speaker 24: this point because my hair is such a to cut.
- 2:18:00Speaker 24: A thirty minute haircut turns into an hour.
- 2:18:02Speaker 2: Why is that? Because it's a body and girl and curly.
- 2:18:06Speaker 2: You know, you remember Jimmy, Yeah.
- 2:18:08Speaker 7: I saw a picture of you right outside with hair.
- 2:18:10Speaker 7: I had to ask him who that was. He asked
- 2:18:14Speaker 7: me the old Monster's photo. He said, Hey, where's Jimmy
- 2:18:17Speaker 7: at this photo? I said, the dude with the hair
- 2:18:20Speaker 7: behind Russ. He's like, what, Oh, no.
- 2:18:24Speaker 2: Is that the one where I'm choking with the mic cork?
- 2:18:27Speaker 2: I can't.
- 2:18:28Speaker 19: Yeah, right out there, I've never seen you with hair before.
- 2:18:30Speaker 19: I was like, Jimmy, it's not good. You should see
- 2:18:33Speaker 19: the older ones. It's even worse. Got a red bullet,
- 2:18:36Speaker 19: the chip tooth. I look like the guy who loaded
- 2:18:41Speaker 19: your feet at.
- 2:18:42Speaker 2: Depot, and I looked like backing up a little bit more.
- 2:18:46Speaker 2: How money bags of moult he eats her before.
- 2:18:48Speaker 20: I was actually in the radio when I used to
- 2:18:50Speaker 20: listen to you guys, they used to I think called
- 2:18:52Speaker 20: the Gerber pat.
- 2:18:54Speaker 2: Because as my hair started going away, But like my grandfather,
- 2:18:57Speaker 2: everything was dead except I had a tiny island and
- 2:19:01Speaker 2: that did not want to go. Oh yeah, and I
- 2:19:03Speaker 2: can still grow that out. That little patch right there,
- 2:19:05Speaker 2: I can still grow out. I could do a front
- 2:19:06Speaker 2: mullet a.
- 2:19:08Speaker 24: Oh, I would do anything to see the fullet.
- 2:19:10Speaker 2: So how long I know we turned this on you?
- 2:19:12Speaker 20: How long did you How long did you hang on
- 2:19:14Speaker 20: to that before you're like, you know what, I'm done?
- 2:19:17Speaker 2: You know what the funny thing is. There's a guy
- 2:19:18Speaker 2: who put did you know at one point I had
- 2:19:21Speaker 2: bleach tips like JT. I had justin Timberlake bleach tips
- 2:19:26Speaker 2: and it was like permed. Oh my god. It's a
- 2:19:29Speaker 2: guy put up a picture on gym members on our
- 2:19:31Speaker 2: Facebook page, the Jim Member's page. He put a picture
- 2:19:34Speaker 2: up of me from years ago with my ex and
- 2:19:37Speaker 2: I'm in a leather jacket with a yellow shirt and
- 2:19:40Speaker 2: I have and I say, Eminem blonde hair. And I
- 2:19:43Speaker 2: think that's what the inspiration was it. Eminem is just
- 2:19:45Speaker 2: like his hair dead blonde like that. I was like,
- 2:19:48Speaker 2: I can pull that off. I'm just like a famous rapper. Yeah,
- 2:19:51Speaker 2: exactly like that. Oh gosh, so fun.
- 2:19:55Speaker 20: I don't talk about Johnny much, but I will say
- 2:19:57Speaker 20: he had the same problem.
- 2:19:58Speaker 2: We were going on a cruise and he's like, I got.
- 2:20:00Speaker 20: A little hole in a hole in my fro and
- 2:20:02Speaker 20: so he showed up to he showed up to the port.
- 2:20:06Speaker 20: He showed up to the port complete shaved. He really, yes,
- 2:20:09Speaker 20: and he hasn't gone back since.
- 2:20:11Speaker 2: Dude, he looks amazing, I know.
- 2:20:12Speaker 20: And he says, it's because I don't know if it's
- 2:20:14Speaker 20: all coming back, so I just leave it.
- 2:20:15Speaker 2: I would if Johnny walked in with like hair or
- 2:20:19Speaker 2: like a mini fro or fro, I I don't even
- 2:20:21Speaker 2: know how it would react. I don't think I've ever
- 2:20:24Speaker 2: seen him with hair. Yeah, he used to have a
- 2:20:25Speaker 2: little fade back tiny woe.
- 2:20:27Speaker 20: Yeah, yeah, like a little like uh you know, New
- 2:20:29Speaker 20: Edition will tied up Bobby Brown.
- 2:20:33Speaker 2: But he looks the same with with or that.
- 2:20:35Speaker 20: Like we we did this thing on our show where
- 2:20:37Speaker 20: we uh you know, took AI and made us look
- 2:20:40Speaker 20: the age of how long we've been in radio. Fine,
- 2:20:43Speaker 20: so Johnny's been in thirty five years. So I took
- 2:20:45Speaker 20: it and I threw it in. AI said, hey, make
- 2:20:46Speaker 20: this guy look thirty like he's thirty five.
- 2:20:48Speaker 2: It looks the damn thing exactly. There is no different
- 2:20:51Speaker 2: because dude has not aged. No, he doesn't age at all.
- 2:20:54Speaker 2: He looks the same as he did twenty years ago. Yeah,
- 2:20:57Speaker 2: thirty five years ago. He literally he has not aged.
- 2:21:01Speaker 2: What are you guys doing this weekend? You have your
- 2:21:03Speaker 2: voter anymore? Do I do have it?
- 2:21:04Speaker 20: If somebody wants to buy a call me. I've considered
- 2:21:09Speaker 20: sinking it. I have insurance.
- 2:21:10Speaker 2: I don't say that either. You've already you're killing everything.
- 2:21:16Speaker 20: I have a gig tomorrow for the radio stations. I'll
- 2:21:19Speaker 20: be doing that in the morning time, and then we're
- 2:21:20Speaker 20: gonna go see Spider Man on Sunday.
- 2:21:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah. It really didn't get that good of ratings.
- 2:21:25Speaker 2: It only like two and a half stars, three stars
- 2:21:27Speaker 2: something like that. On the first night was really tomatoes.
- 2:21:30Speaker 2: But I haven't seen since. They said it was a
- 2:21:31Speaker 2: very heartfelt spider Man, like Spider Man Finds Himself. I
- 2:21:35Speaker 2: didn't like.
- 2:21:36Speaker 24: Any of the last Spider Man movies, any movie with
- 2:21:38Speaker 24: Tom Holland in it. I wasn't the biggest fan.
- 2:21:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I gave up on Spider Man after who
- 2:21:43Speaker 2: did him first? Tom? After that, it was done for me.
- 2:21:47Speaker 20: The Andrew Garfield ones were good, except for the villains
- 2:21:50Speaker 20: were bad.
- 2:21:50Speaker 2: See that's and I've had this. Russ and I have
- 2:21:53Speaker 2: had this argument slash, you know, just conversation for many
- 2:21:56Speaker 2: many years, and I think he kind of agrees with
- 2:21:58Speaker 2: me now is because he's a big comic book guy
- 2:22:00Speaker 2: and what was the big Marvel thing in my world?
- 2:22:03Speaker 2: I don't care about any of the good guys. Those
- 2:22:05Speaker 2: movies die or live by the bad guy. Yeah, and
- 2:22:09Speaker 2: I'm telling you, like the Green Goblin doc oc uh,
- 2:22:12Speaker 2: those were great bad guys, so you could literally see
- 2:22:15Speaker 2: them as bad guys. And if they don't have a
- 2:22:17Speaker 2: good bad guy, that's done. And that's why I hate
- 2:22:19Speaker 2: Superman because he's got too much power. There is no
- 2:22:22Speaker 2: bad guy. Yeah, oh, you had a you're a professor
- 2:22:25Speaker 2: with a mean rock? Is that the bad guy? You
- 2:22:29Speaker 2: had a guy with a bad rock that really hurts
- 2:22:31Speaker 2: him bad? That sucks. That's why none of these Superman
- 2:22:34Speaker 2: movies are worth a damn.
- 2:22:35Speaker 24: Superman has been one of the most boring characters to
- 2:22:37Speaker 24: me forever. I love Batman, though Batman has some cool
- 2:22:41Speaker 24: villains and the Night.
- 2:22:43Speaker 2: Like, Yeah, Batman has done great, I mean everything. The
- 2:22:45Speaker 2: Scarecrow was even fun. That's my favorite villain. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:22:48Speaker 2: he was great. All of those were great. I agree
- 2:22:50Speaker 2: hundred percent. Batman is way better than any of them,
- 2:22:53Speaker 2: even more than Spider Man for me, because the bad
- 2:22:56Speaker 2: guys are always better. Yeah, yeah, that's what that's what
- 2:22:59Speaker 2: kills it for me. Yeah, because because that was just
- 2:23:02Speaker 2: the Andrew Garfier.
- 2:23:02Speaker 20: When they put Jamie Fox in, they made him with
- 2:23:04Speaker 20: electro and it was it was terrible, so cheesy, so
- 2:23:07Speaker 20: like I can't like this.
- 2:23:08Speaker 2: And what even sucks more is they're doing it just
- 2:23:10Speaker 2: because he's Jamie Fox. It's like when they put Jim
- 2:23:12Speaker 2: Carrey in the movie, even though you could see him
- 2:23:15Speaker 2: like being a Riddler esque kind of guy, it's just
- 2:23:17Speaker 2: they put him in there because his name. Yeah, no,
- 2:23:20Speaker 2: it's literally it didn't really add to the film, you know.
- 2:23:22Speaker 24: Yeah, well when you add someone with such a big
- 2:23:24Speaker 24: name like Jim Carrey, all you do is it looks
- 2:23:26Speaker 24: like Jim Carrey and Jama Pants.
- 2:23:28Speaker 2: And that's what you Emily the movie Girl comes in
- 2:23:30Speaker 2: on Mondays And we've talked about this whole thing, like
- 2:23:32Speaker 2: this new wave of movies, like what was the one
- 2:23:36Speaker 2: no Obsession, Like you know a lot of these movies
- 2:23:39Speaker 2: are making great money, Like you don't know any of
- 2:23:41Speaker 2: the actors, Like, you don't nobody. I didn't know one
- 2:23:44Speaker 2: actor from Obsession and it destroyed And I think that's
- 2:23:47Speaker 2: kind of coming becoming a thing because you don't go
- 2:23:49Speaker 2: in with any preconceived notions of what you expect from
- 2:23:52Speaker 2: the cast. You just kind of go in there and
- 2:23:54Speaker 2: get and you get what you get and it works
- 2:23:55Speaker 2: out great.
- 2:23:56Speaker 24: Yeah, that's how That's how I like movies. I feel
- 2:23:58Speaker 24: like I tend more to the lower end when it
- 2:24:02Speaker 24: comes to the actor spectrum.
- 2:24:03Speaker 2: And they're grittier and they seem more real as well. Exactly.
- 2:24:05Speaker 3: Thank thanks for having us deb Yeah, we're gonna talk
- 2:24:09Speaker 3: about an update on the DOJ reflecting pool case closer
- 2:24:13Speaker 3: to home. Democrats renewed the Hope, Florida scandal push and
- 2:24:16Speaker 3: Jack Yes, how New Jersey police caught distracted drivers chef's
- 2:24:22Speaker 3: kiss for sticking thinking outside of the bush. Yeah, we'll
- 2:24:25Speaker 3: talk about that next during You heard it here First.
- 2:24:26Speaker 2: You gotta guys, don't forget your full six o'clock keyword

- 2:24:37Speaker 2: Go to real radio out of him and send that

- 2:24:43Speaker 2: of here on a Friday.
- 2:24:52Speaker 10: What of JSU seems like the world is going to
- 2:24:55Speaker 10: hell in a handbasket.

- 2:25:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's good.
- 2:25:32Speaker 9: I don't care if it was an eighties by, was it?

- 2:26:37Speaker 3: see this coming. The Justice Department is dropping the felony
- 2:26:41Speaker 3: case involving the reflecting pool against the American Olympic Canoeist
- 2:26:45Speaker 3: and it's legal brief. The DCUs attorney Ajanine Piro's office
- 2:26:49Speaker 3: said the damage was due to quote the result of
- 2:26:51Speaker 3: flawed installation by the contractor end quote, not Olympian David Hearn.
- 2:26:57Speaker 3: Hearn pleaded not guilty to causing the damage at the
- 2:26:59Speaker 3: land Memorial reflecting pool. The court finally says, the ceilant
- 2:27:03Speaker 3: lining the bottom of the pool started peeling quote almost
- 2:27:06Speaker 3: immediately end quote after it was installed.
- 2:27:09Speaker 2: Didn't stop him from wrecking this guy's life for about
- 2:27:12Speaker 2: three weeks. They did it. Yeah, no no evidence whatsoever
- 2:27:15Speaker 2: to do this, And this is exactly why they dropped it.
- 2:27:17Speaker 2: They would have been laughed out of court with this case.
- 2:27:19Speaker 2: It's a joke. They did it to harass this guy
- 2:27:22Speaker 2: and you because they hired a guy that didn't know
- 2:27:24Speaker 2: what he was doing. He's a friend.
- 2:27:26Speaker 16: Yeah, well he won the bid. Oh wait, there's no bid. Yeah,
- 2:27:30Speaker 16: no bid.
- 2:27:30Speaker 2: No, he was a friend.
- 2:27:32Speaker 3: US Senate candidate Alex Vindman is calling for Senator Ashley
- 2:27:36Speaker 3: Moody to demand the release of the Hope, Florida grand
- 2:27:39Speaker 3: jury report. This has kind of been a buried story
- 2:27:41Speaker 3: for a while.
- 2:27:42Speaker 2: I read the story this morning.
- 2:27:43Speaker 3: He says she was Florida Attorney General at the time
- 2:27:46Speaker 3: and her office may have had a role and the Hope,
- 2:27:48Speaker 3: Florida scandal. He also claims her involvement earned her an
- 2:27:52Speaker 3: appointment to the US Senate. Hope Florida, a nonprofit led
- 2:27:55Speaker 3: by First Lady Casey DeSantis, approved the transfer of ten
- 2:27:59Speaker 3: million received from an atypical settlement involving Medicaid funds to
- 2:28:04Speaker 3: two other nonprofits. You remember it was alluded that that
- 2:28:07Speaker 3: money ended up going to some shadow groups that helped
- 2:28:11Speaker 3: bring down the medical the recreational marijuana amendment as well
- 2:28:15Speaker 3: as the abortion amendment.
- 2:28:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what makes it so crazy, as they spent
- 2:28:17Speaker 2: that money on campaigns. They aren't even supposed touch that money.
- 2:28:20Speaker 13: Now.
- 2:28:20Speaker 3: I read settlement money for the state of Florida.
- 2:28:22Speaker 2: I read that story today, and it is sticky. Yes
- 2:28:25Speaker 2: it is. It's very sticky. It's super sticky around election time.
- 2:28:29Speaker 3: And it's also part of what's continued to lead to
- 2:28:31Speaker 3: the infighting in Tallahassee between the GOP.
- 2:28:34Speaker 2: And you notice you haven't heard Casey desantus his name
- 2:28:36Speaker 2: in six months, and she was expected to help to
- 2:28:39Speaker 2: run for governor. They don't want this thing. They don't
- 2:28:41Speaker 2: want anybody saying the two words Hope Florida right now.
- 2:28:44Speaker 2: It is not good. That's Florida. Hope Florida that's Florida.
- 2:28:47Speaker 2: That story is bananas dude when you read it. Yeah,
- 2:28:49Speaker 2: it admires up in that too, by the way.
- 2:28:50Speaker 3: And then finally, a New Jersey community is cracking down
- 2:28:53Speaker 3: on distracted drivers using a police officer disguised as a
- 2:28:58Speaker 3: bush in a gill suit. Danellen's police department had an
- 2:29:02Speaker 3: officer blend in with shrubbery in the background with leaves
- 2:29:05Speaker 3: on his body. Wednesday was just off the busy Washington
- 2:29:09Speaker 3: Avenue to nab drivers using phones that resulted in seventy
- 2:29:13Speaker 3: two summonses by the end.
- 2:29:15Speaker 2: Of the day. How about that?
- 2:29:16Speaker 3: And you heard it here first on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:29:19Speaker 2: That's dirty work, though, I gotta tell you, not dirty
- 2:29:21Speaker 2: at all. That's a little dirty at all. That's like
- 2:29:23Speaker 2: a mini van is a cop car? That's dirty. That
- 2:29:26Speaker 2: shocked me dirty do we have to think of that?
