- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to the show, Jody.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Kimberly.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: I am out of it today because yesterday, well, no, what's today Wednesday?
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: Monday, I went and I got a flu shot, RSV shot, and an ammonia shot.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: Which I found out, my mother told me that she asked the pharmacist, or she told the pharmacist,
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, whatever.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: The pharmacist told her, you don't need to get the pneumonia shot every year, which I did get it last year.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: And they didn't tell me that this time.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: So whatever, but I recommend to every person that you just have to get, I thought by the way, 60 was when you were supposed to get it, but I said, I haven't had mine yet.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well,
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: whatever I got it.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I felt like I was so out of it yesterday, I've never experienced that much of a reaction.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: So like, you know, I mean, it felt similar to the COVID shots are
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like either I either get it or I feel okay, and so I felt okay sometimes and then other times I would feel that weird achy feeling and then that's what I was feeling this time and I was so tired Oh my god yesterday.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's so tired, but I'm better today.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just cloudy.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: So everybody's just gonna have to deal with me being cloudy on my last show of of the year What you're on?
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yay, and I'm just blabbing about myself.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: How are you, Jodie?
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm okay.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's been, it's been a couple of weeks, you know, two people.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know Mr. Reiner that well, but I didn't know Jim, so that sucked for both of them, you know, and then Jill Sove, you'll earlier this year.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I mean, I had a worse year in 2022, I lost nine people, so.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my god.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was a shitty year.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's been a, you know, this has been a hard year for so many reasons, you know, outside of all the obvious political and, you know, moral.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: goings on immoral goings on I mean I've talked about this before but one of the things and for anybody who loves foxes you guys all know that I was a bait I am a big fan of the save a fox rescue and Michaela who ran it committed suicide earlier this year and it was awful it was fucking awful because she was borderline personality and also autistic
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: She was doing everything she could.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: She was taking meds and everything, but it just wouldn't help.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then the reason she wound up taking her own life was because she was trying to save all these foxes from a fur farm and the fur farms and other rescues actually, unfortunately, were bullying her and she was unable to handle it.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: And it was just, it was devastating because she's been a
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think because she had the mental illness, she was so able to communicate with animals.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they loved her and you could see it.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: And you couldn't tell by listening to her or looking at her that she had this mental illness, but it was just devastating.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's usually not visual.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, she didn't display, I mean, not that we would see on camera.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: She always looked happy and, you know, right.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, okay, so,
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to start this off and we're going to talk about Rob Riner, but I think this show is just going to go all over the map.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to have some politics.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: We're just going to have whatever.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, this is the first time I've been in front of a microphone since this has happened.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I know that I just want to ask you because I know like you have met him.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: I believe it was through Stephanie Miller, right?
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I just want you to talk about a little bit from what you know.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: Well, anything you want to say.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, he was always very gracious to me when I would see him, both him and Michelle, I was at one dinner party, and Lonnie couldn't go, because Stephanie was keeping it very close to the vest, and I think it was the first time I met Malcolm Nance and I've never seen so many people be super quiet around Malcolm, because of course.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: nobody shut up it was just nobody said a word while he was talking yeah and and but he actually my mom told me a very sweet thing that he said to her regarding me they ran into each other in New York the years ago.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know when exactly it was pre-COVID
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: And they were backstage somewhere, I don't know what show she was, they were saying, but, you know, they ran into each other and he walked up to her and this pleasant trees were exchanged and then he said, by the way, your daughter on Stephanie show is really with it and really smart and really listening to her and I thought that was really he didn't have to say that and I thought that was really really sweet of him and I mean when my mom told me that I'm like, really she goes, yeah, he just was just bragging on you and I'm like,
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: That was very nice of him, and I remember telling him a story about his dad, and I will keep it very short because it can get very descriptive if I want to.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, Lonnie and I went to go see Mrs. Reiner, Rob's dad, Mom, excuse me, perform.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: The Guardiania in West Hollywood, she used to do it in the mid-80s, and my sister Carina used to go see her, and we ran into them at a party, and I said, oh, I love seeing you think she goes, I'm going to do it again.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: And so we got, they put us on the list, which was generous, because it was like 30 bucks for the two of us to get in.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's right there.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: We'd save $30.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: and so yeah and met a bunch of lovely people that were at the restaurant which is and so we ordered food and really good food there and when we were getting that we asked for the check, our service sitting on a no-no, Mr. and Mrs. Reiner took it.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: Oh wow!
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: Which couldn't have been nicer because they didn't have to do it.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they knew everybody in the room pretty much and I know they didn't pay for everybody's meal.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: And so I told that story to Mr. Rainer the junior at an event that I saw him at.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: have six, seven years ago.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: It was before his dad passed away.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: And his dad was being honored but he wasn't there.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: And so I walked up and I reintroduced myself, because no, I know you are.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: And thank you.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, by the way, I need to tell you story about your dad.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: And when I told him that, he just grand ear to ear.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's my dad.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, yeah, and I said, please give him my life.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes, I absolutely will.
- 7:31[UNKNOWN]: So.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it was, he was, you know, I mean, Mr. Reiner was just, he and his wife were just, you know, amazing human beings.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: And their sentence being charged with two counts of first degree murder with special circumstances, which means our current D.A.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: wants to seek death penalty even though it's on hold.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm against it and I believe his parents were.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, and so I don't know.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: I can't even imagine how his sisters and brother Oh, Nick's sisters and brother are feeling But I don't think he should get the death penalty.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's me.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Mentally ill Which is probably why he had substance abuse issues.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I Just I think the death penalty.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's not gonna hurt anybody else.
- 8:18[UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, if anybody he's on suicide, watch as far as I'm as far as I know right now, which is why he wasn't in court yesterday.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, he's got a very good lawyer, but I just feel terrible for that family.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: This kids, you know, I mean, luckily their oldest sister Tracy is 61.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: and lost her mom a few years back her mom was petty martial and so I assume that the younger kids are looking to her, unfortunately for her, but you know, because these people were in their mid-30s and late 20s, you know, their babies and it's hard enough when you're in your 50s or 60s but when you're that young and it's sudden like this.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: I can't even fathom.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Stephanie asked me yesterday.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: What do I say to Jake?
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: Because I guess she's got his phone number.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: And what do I do?
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, we'll don't bother him right now.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, he's getting inundated with all sorts of stuff that you're not prepared for.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my brother Joe died suddenly and so for me, once I got the phone called, my initial reaction was I'm going down to San Diego to see my brother Jeffrey because those two were like two peas in a pot and I just got in the car and drove.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and so I told Stephanie, I said, look, what I suggest you do is wait a few more days to text him and just say, hey, I'm thinking about you, you need to get back to me.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: And leave it at that because a friend of mine's girlfriend killed herself on a cruise ship, not too long ago.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: she jumped overboard and yeah my friend witnessed it and my god yeah and so when I heard about it I was like what I mean he was taken for questioning because you know he was in the room when it happened he's been cleared of any wrong doing because she did jump but you know as soon as he got back to shore I texted him I said hey man I'm thinking about you no need to get back because
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: That way they know you're thinking about them, but you know, and that's what happened when Hal Sparks's dad died.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I'm just thinking about you.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: All my love do not need to, you do not need to get back to me.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then I left it at that, you know, stun.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think that's the best thing for Stephanie to do.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: I know she's going through some stuff.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: And she's, luckily she's going to go see her best friend, Wanda, who is a shrink.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: So that's good.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know, she'll get to talk to her about this in a different way.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, I mean, you know, have a friend, and this is such a strange story, but she said her whole life she would dream of her mother and sister dying in a car accident.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: And then as an adult, it happened.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: And she told me that
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, she said, everybody would come up to me and say, I'm sorry.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, I got so sick of hearing that.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: And it's of course she understood that that's what people say.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: But as the person who's going through it, it's one person after another after another, saying exactly the same thing.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: And now I think about that every time.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: you know I try I mean I will say that I'm sorry because it's true it's like we all feel we all understand whether we've gone through it or not great and so you know mean we're all sorry about it but and she like I said she didn't mean it like she was criticizing people she just meant it like it just got to be too much and I think you know I mean I think what I'm gonna remember what you said because it's I think that's a great way to do it because people are you know it's like
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: you're just dealing with so much that you need your space and I know people mean well but it can be overwhelming so I get it yeah I mean it's it's having been through so much in my own personal family yeah I've weirdly gotten good at grief I don't know if that's the right phrasing of it
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, my dad was the first close person.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: And then my brother, Joe, and then my brother, Jeff, three years later, it was my dad and 91, my brother, Joe, and 94, my brother, Jeffery, 97, and then carrying 2002, and then my sister, Dana, in 2018, and then my sister, Judy, a couple of years ago.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's, you know, it's a lot.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lot.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's just kind of,
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: I compartmentalize a lot, you know, and so do everybody.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, when carried out, especially everybody just showed up here, you know, I know.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: There was probably a hundred people here within a couple of hours of everybody finding about when the press release, when there was a press release, boom, and it was a good globe night, too.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: I remember if the vividly it was golden globes night.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: And it was like, just people just went, I'm coming over.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, okay, you know, and so people came over with food.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they always do.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I had so much pasta, you know, Florence Henderson goes, how do I turn on the oven?
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, okay, this is how you do that, you know?
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: She was one of the first people here, and it was just like, you know, a massive amount of people, because carrying Florence were very close, just like, you know.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: And it was like, okay, what do you...
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: I just had people here, and then it was like, I said to my French, because then my mom's like, well, who's going to talk at the service, and then I talked to a friend of Kerry's mind.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: I said to my French honest, well, you do, well, you see this absolutely whatever you need.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it was like kind of like that kind of thing, you know, and so I, these kids, I wish I knew them, you know, so that I could be of help, but I think the best thing is not,
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: Do you need to me to I'm going to do your laundry right and because everyone's going to say no right right you know I'm going to come over and vacuum your house I'm going to make sure you have food you you're always going to have food on so much food.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to come over and do laundry, I'm going to clean your house, I'm going to pick up the kids from school.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know, those kind of things so that the person that's going through this doesn't have to worry about the mundane.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, I mean, I think people are so used to that humble answer and saying, no, thank, you know, do you need anything?
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: No, thank you.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: Don't ask if they need it.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: Just do it and I totally agree with that because there were people that used to ask me I won't get into the details just to protect the innocent, but you know, do you want this or do you want it It's like don't ask me if I want it if you want to give it to me give it to me if you don't want to give it to me Don't give it to me right I totally understand and agree with that sentiment just go and do because that's what people need and you know I think that you're also I mean I can
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: what they experienced was so shocking, because their brother did it to their parents.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, that's such a unique situation and they're going to, for the rest of their lives, have to grapple with that and live in that.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just, it's so awful.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then,
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: I hate bringing this up, but I'm going to because it's important in necessary that the president of the United States handling of this was not at all surprising, but it was absolutely disgusting.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I said something on...
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: social media that we have to decide who we are.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, I got the, you know, well, that was forever ago.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: We, you know, we should have just, it's like, I don't want to hear it from everybody telling me that this is this, you know, I don't know even know what, that this is our new normal.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it is our new normal, but we can't get used to it.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_02]: And we can't accept it.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, there are some Republicans, uh, or Naga, or whatever.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even know, just people with our behind their name, who are condemning this.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you know, like even James Woods, who nobody likes.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Fuentes and culture.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there was an entire, uh, bank of Fox people.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: condemning this and it's like a friend of mine posted it.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think she's a Republican.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure How foolish it was and how offended she was and oh my god I can't believe this happened and then some people on her Facebook page were like oh you have TDS.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's like oh my god And then going.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's AI.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: No, it isn't he doubled down
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: the white house reposted it right.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, God, it's so disgusting.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's disgusting that we're having to experience this.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, yes, it is our new normal.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: It absolutely is.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: We, you know, we can't say anymore.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: This can't become normal.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's become normal.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: But that doesn't mean we have to accept it as our normal.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: We, you know, it's just so awful and so gross.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: And there's this, you know, the guy that I've been talking about
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: But he's a doctor on Instagram who's always talking about Trump's dementia, and he was saying specifically, and this is what I've been saying that, you know, first of all, the doctor shot a picture of MRIs with a patient with dementia as opposed to one who didn't have one.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, you can kind of see on the top of the between the skull and the brain, there's kind of like this dark gray area.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what it looks like when someone has dementia and he explains, you know, all the things that happened and how it interferes with your memory.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: it interferes with how you behave socially and you know I know that Donald Trump's father had Alzheimer's so I'm sure he I don't know if you know we don't know what he has dementia, Alzheimer's both whatever but ultimately and I don't really know the difference I know Alzheimer's is worse or is harsher but he was saying you know this doctor gives Trump
- 18:10[SPEAKER_02]: His, I don't know, length of life left, you know, on what he can see because nobody is able to get to him and all the doctors that can get to him are lying.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: But what he was saying is that it takes away not the Trump ever had any social graces, but Trump does.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_02]: At least in the past, has understood what not to say.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: And we know this because of Putin.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: He never says anything negative about Putin.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: He's very careful.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: So he does understand that there are certain things you shouldn't say.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that he started displaying the, I don't know, the inappropriate kind of dementia maybe behavior when he was, how many times have I said this, talking about,
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: Arnold Palmer's penis when he was jerking off the microphone or get actually giving the fake blow job to the microphone right before the election so
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody with dementia is going to go back and forth.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: They're not going to have every moment isn't going to be about recall or forgetting or inappropriate.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to have moments that they seem normal.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: And then other moments where they just they can't remember it or they're inappropriate or they're and I think with Alzheimer's in particular, you can get mean.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: I don't necessarily think you get mean with dementia.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: I could be wrong about that.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I know that you can get
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: perturbed, because you're upset, you don't remember something and people are coming at you and it's scary.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I can't even fat on how frightening that has to be to, you know, have that disease.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my grandmother, I don't know what my grandmother had, but there was a point where where she had something had turned, she didn't know where she lived or something like that.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: So she, my mom was staying
- 20:01[SPEAKER_02]: I guess like she was always drinking prune juice.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: That was her natural remedy.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: So, so she could be regular and I mean for ever since I can remember my grandmother would drink prune juice.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: So I guess she became obsessed with it because I think she was constipated.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_02]: And she had her prune juice or whatever and my mom had to sleep.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_02]: downstairs because my grandma would come down and like drink all the prune juice.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: So she comes down and my mom's like, what do you need?
- 20:28[SPEAKER_02]: Because I'm coming to get the prune juice and my mom's like, no, you already have that.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: You have to go back upstairs and she started stomping and throwing a fit like a child.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, that is so not how my grandmother behaved.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: So not her.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: She didn't throw fits, you know, she was like the most calm and gentle woman I've ever known in my entire life.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: And so yeah, I mean, it's like she wasn't being an appropriate per se, but yeah, she was, she was very irritated and like you said frustrated.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not sure exactly what she had.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that, you know, we look at this behavior and regardless of the fact that he's got dementia or Alzheimer's or whatever he fucking has.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: He's a disgusting vial rapist who's a convicted felon and he keeps breaking laws and he's making our fucking life miserable.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: Amen, preach it, girl, no, I mean, you know, Stephanie mentioned this and I've thought about it, especially, I mean, I think what's really getting to him when he's lucid is the fact that people loved Rob Reiner and just him, yes.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if he pays attention to any, even truth, social fucks, I'm sure not everybody on truth, social likes him because I'm sure some people are on their reasons, but apparently according to people that were looking at that stupid trough that he put up, they were looking at it and saying, hey, and looking down, all the most of the comments were negative towards what he posted.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's good, because it's just, I mean, how much more can we fuck and take?
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're going to have to take more obviously, but it's, you know, it's not like everything's just going to get better now and even if, you know, he goes to his soul home or or it's just like unable, right, because I think that there is an opportunity where he's just unable to do his job.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: We're still in it, but let's switch this over because we've been focusing on all the negative shit.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I like to talk about 2026, oh, I'm just going to say, there's this man on Twitter, I don't know, I'm sorry on YouTube, I keep confusing those two sites, but there's this guy on YouTube, he's not a known person.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember his name, so I'm sorry, but it's just this guy, right?
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: And he's got a decent following, but he likes to break down politics.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: And he was saying that, and I think this was prior,
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: to what happened to Rob Reiner, but he was talking about how the Supreme Court, you know, they didn't want to take on gay marriage, which was a good thing.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_02]: And just the different things that we're all facing right now, and he was saying he hopes that a lot of focus was on the Supreme Court, but this guy particularly hopes that this regime
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: Just gets worse and worse and worse and worse.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: The worse they are, the more resistant they are that we are.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: And I kind of agree.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, I don't want Trump to die.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: I want him alive because the longer he's alive, the more resistance is built.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I think if you, you know what I mean?
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're at the point now because we didn't have any, we don't have guardrails now, but like his first presidency obviously we did.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: And the midterms, we still had a massive blue wave.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: So what I want to talk about,
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to cover one more thing too.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: Glencers are saying the same thing.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's accelerating to such a degree, if it were slower, we'd be like Hitler.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: But because he's doing the stupid so quickly, Hitler was way smarter.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give him that.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: as far as just slowly let's go and take years to do this instead of nine months, ten months.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: The fact that he's moving so quickly and Stephen Miller is moving so quickly is good because people are waking up faster.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think that that's going to make a difference in the midterms because now if you know we're going to have all these people with these ridiculously high premiums or no health insurance, I mean I have a girlfriend, she's a dancer and she's like three
- 24:32[SPEAKER_02]: Because she's a dancer, she's been a ballad dancer.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: She's already had two hip surgeries.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_02]: And she was telling me, during the Biden administration, she's like, you know, I'm getting these done now.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: Because I don't know if I'm going to even be able to have insurance if Republicans take over.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: And she was really smart because the last time I talked to her, she's like, I'm just not going to be able to afford it.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_02]: excuse me and it's just it's upsetting because so many people are going to be knocked off their insurance but what this will do is it's going to make people rush to the post now they're going to try to stop it they're going to do everything they can to stop it but they're not going to be able to and what I really want to emphasize is and I don't ask you about I don't know positive feelings you have about this but um
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like we have enough time right now.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're year out.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: So people need to make their plans about voting now.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it's getting time off of work if it's possible.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever it is because, you know, you can't use the excuse of
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, I caught me by surprise, you know, it's like, we have plenty of time.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: We know what election day is going to be.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: We have plenty of time and unfortunately we don't have, you know, like a national day offer doing it on the weekends or it.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: But I have this feeling that we're going to see.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: That it's going to be a much bigger blue wave than in 2018.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: So how are you feeling about that?
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're right, if there is no rat fuckery.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there will be rat fuckery, so that's what I mean to the point where it, like, you know, votes are changed kind of rat fuckery, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right,
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think that people are motivated what I suggest to people out there is, first off, make sure you're registered and continue to make sure you're registered if you are in a state that is known to purge people a month before a vote.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, check all the time.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm constantly watching.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: Why before you go to, make sure.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: constantly check and God forbid you are thrown off when you walk into to vote and you get a provisional ballot, find out prior to voting what to do with your provisional ballot to prove that you're a voter because what happens is those ballots don't get counted until they're needed, they don't get counted because they're not sure you're a voter.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: And so you have to like, I think in California what I would do where I'd be to be given a provisional ballot is I would go down to the county registrar, which is not easy for a lot of people, but if you really want to make sure your vote counts, you go down to the county registrar, bring your ID, passport, whatever you need to bring to prove your citizen and you can vote in that county.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: Bring that with you and say, hey, I was given a provisional ballot and want my ballot to count because you should get a receipt for your vote.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: bring that with you and make sure your vote counts because every vote fucking counts.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yes it does and we've been seeing that because we've been seeing all the special elections for the most part Democrats have been winning big and you know but we also know about those elections where
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: it's you know by a small number and they really do they make a huge difference and I mean hello this is it people.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean this is literally it it's it's it's it's going to be that we saved democracy or it gets lost for generations.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah so this is the time which I'm going to switch over now to Susie Wiles and
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: And apparently it has more to drop.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently there's no really, that's what I heard.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_00]: We just have a little bit of it.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: There's more that they're going to publish.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_00]: So this is going to be an interesting couple of months.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's find me that she says that it's taken out of context.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: Please.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, really?
- 28:23[SPEAKER_02]: And I think, oh, I want to just kind of talk about the fact that those pictures, the pictures of all the people are so, are so unflattering.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: And that photographer deserves all the awards.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: There was also pictures I saw up on Blue Sky of, you know, it was like JD van standing next to like the light switch.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think he looks tiny.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: He looks tiny.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Susie Wiles too.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: Twitter said, and I don't remember who it is, so I'm sorry, because it was just based on the picture of Levitt and and she said something like this is sexist, but then it was pointed out that it's all for at least We've got four of them and it was two men and two women and Allison Gill was like, you know, let's let's not forget that this is basically I'm gonna I'm gonna go look up or quote and I should have had it available right in front of me
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: but ultimately her point was, you know, this was done on purpose and you know, and it's kind of like exposing and I thought that it was just absolutely wonderful that
- 29:34[SPEAKER_02]: this photographer chose to do this because we normally, I can't find it, but we're normally seeing more flattering pictures, right?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, I mean, the Republicans are so good at doing that to liberals.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: Well, here it is.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Allison says, don't get it twisted.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: Those close-up vanity fair photos aren't mean.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: There aren't.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: He rodes the container, it's carried in exposing evil and invoking a response is art.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: So, yes, I think that was obviously intentional, but it's like, yeah, they're always using really unattractive pictures of liberals.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: So, ha ha.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I tried not to do that.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, go ahead.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, Steven Miller can't take a good picture because he's evil.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: I so I so I show Lonnie I said you know who this is because no, I said that's Steven Miller he's 20 years younger than I am And he's like what and I'm like I'm not fucking kidding he's 20 fucking years younger than I'm this is what evil does yeah it comes out
- 30:35[SPEAKER_00]: and it shows who you picture of Dorian Gray.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: He was evil.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: He looked great when his picture didn't look so good.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right, yeah.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's the internal.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, ugly from the inside out.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, just ugly, ugly, ugly people.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my grandmother had said that wonderful one.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: I was just speaking of, she, excuse me, something like when she was a little girl,
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: There was this really beautiful woman.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: And she was so taken with her beauty.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: And then that woman was an asshole.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: And she said, all of a sudden, like the beauty just was gone.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: It was just, you know, I mean, so it is literally only skin deep.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're an ugly person on the inside, it comes out.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: And that's with Stephen Miller, oh my God.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's just, what is fucking wrong with these people?
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: They're so horrible.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: I saw, I'm not even gonna go over what Megan Kelly said.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not gonna retweet it.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not gonna really talk about what she said,
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: her, I mean, what doll is said about her?
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: Why the fuck does she defend him ever?
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I don't know.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: The thing that makes me so angry about her, and I mean, she's a beautiful woman, and I know people would say what we were just talking about.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: She's not beautiful, but no, not at least making.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: She's pretty.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: If you're going to look at what human beings consider,
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: attractive.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think she's had too much face work done, but especially when she was younger.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, she was beautiful and she's also articulate and she's intelligent and she knows how to express herself well.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: And instead of using all of those things,
- 32:10[SPEAKER_02]: for good.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: She's so fucking vile, it's unbelievable.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: She's like one of them, I mean, she has so Trumped and culture.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: Because I think culture does at least come across as a human on occasion and, you know, suggesting that it's not, well, basically it's suggesting it's not rape if you're under 15 or older.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_02]: That was horrible.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then she basically said that Rob Reiner didn't know how to talk to a son.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_02]: and so she blamed she blamed it on him.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm not even going to say the quote because I don't want to give her that much tension.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_02]: But it's like, what is fucking wrong with her?
- 32:46[SPEAKER_02]: Something is so seriously wrong with these people.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, you know, I, I'm just going to bring this out because I've talked before and I can't remember if I told you this, but, you know, I have a mega relative and recently, I think it was like in
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: It was in August.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_02]: We had a bit of a falling out.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_02]: All I did was she asked me a question and it wasn't even about politics and I'm not going to get into our personal affairs, but
- 33:11[SPEAKER_02]: She asked me a question and it kind of was the question that got me going and so we had a conversation up until that point where I was just not we weren't talking about we never talk about politics and I just don't say anything right and so this has happened so many times she's not mean to me she doesn't attack me but she will throw out these little things and then you know if I say something then I'm
- 33:39[SPEAKER_02]: at fault.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_02]: Even though she's the one bringing it up and it seems right when there's do this constantly.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: So I just don't say anything to keep the piece.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: And it's been years of this.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: And again, she's not mean to me.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: She doesn't pick fights with me.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: She does throughout little digs to the to liberals and things like that.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: But she, uh,
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: isn't like I said, it's not like she's aggressively mean, but she asked me a particular question and that was the question that set me off.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I, when I was replying to her, I just kind of never stopped and I, I did, I did give the listicle of you said this and you did this and you said this and
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: She just couldn't take it and hell up on me.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: So that was like, we've never had anything like that ever.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing like that, we've never had a disagreement, we've never had an argument.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I wasn't screaming at her, but I was emotional.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: And so her birthday was the October, I sent her a birthday card, and I told her that I loved her, and I wished that I sincerely wished things were different.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: So she sent me a card, this Christmas, and I sent her one.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not calling her.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_02]: And if she calls me, I mean, I would take it, but it would make me uncomfortable.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm just like, this is happening.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have relatives that you're dealing?
- 34:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like, with this shit, do you have to deal with this?
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really speak to, it's funny, because it's not my generation.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's the generation below me.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, really?
- 35:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not all of them.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's a few, right?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I, you know,
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't really talk to them about it.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I do have, uh, are they full blown maga?
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: Mmm.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: I, the maybe not now.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, uh, they're full of, they were tea partyers.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I mean, I haven't talked to them about politics in a long time.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I mean, I remember, I think it was,
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: I might have been in 2017, or yeah, might have been when my sister passed away.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: It was at a funeral at her service.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_00]: And one of my nephews said, yeah, three million people voted for Hillary that we're done document.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I just burst in laughter.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_00]: I said, no, they didn't.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's just not a thing.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_00]: It goes, no, it's true.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, no, it's not.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I laughed.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, you're foolish because laughter is the only way to deal with somebody that's deluded.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, no, look it up.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: But you can't do that.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's not possible.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me, it's not possible.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_00]: And so, that was the last time I talked to anybody about that, you know, it was kind of leave it be.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, my sister Dana was very adamant about not talking politics, but her husband brought it up
- 36:26[SPEAKER_00]: like he did it.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_00]: He did it.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_00]: He started it.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, then she just laughed.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, so don't give me shit.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_00]: He started it.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I, it's just, I mean, I can't deal with, okay, so a friend of mine that I knew from the time I was 17, um, right after Charlie Kirk passed away.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_00]: Now, when he passed
- 36:53[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Bob, yeah, it was a Wednesday.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_00]: So Bob had come on, he just hated you here about Charlie Kirk and we're like, what?
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: So we looked it up and it was that day.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_00]: So there was the fog of news not knowing what's going on.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: And the first thing out of my mouth was, I hope he's OK.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: because you what happened in front of his children and his wife and I have thoughts about her but his wife.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we all do.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_02]: Uh huh.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: And anybody else that was there to witness that.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_00]: And then him having to have that happen to him.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so I was like, God, I hope he's going to be okay.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: Because that was just that's my initial instinct.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: And then my now ex friend apparently, because she blocked, she dropped me from Facebook.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: Um, she said, I've been seeing all these vile comments from the left.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I haven't.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then like Siano, she blocked me.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: All I said was I haven't.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: I said, not anybody I know, and boom, I was blocked.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I told Bob, I'm like, did you hear what happened to Charlie Kirk?
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, no, and then I told him.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, I don't remember if I said, I hope, because I heard that he got shot in the neck.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I pretty much knew.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_02]: I thought, I don't think there's a way you survive that.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I was worried.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_02]: I was very upset.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: It was very upsetting for me.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_02]: I did not like Charlie Kirk at all, but this is not what I wanted to happen.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: I don't wish this on anybody.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: And then, unfortunately, I saw it because I was scrolling and there was somebody who posted it on X and I was posting on X because I work for MSW media and I have to go over there in post.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really spend a lot of time on X but as I was scrolling, there was a video and it just started.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like I stopped.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: and it just started playing, and it was literally within seconds, I saw everything, and it was pretty close up, and I was like, oh my god, it's like I can see it in my mind's eye.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_02]: Now I will see it for the rest of my life, and of course, I mean, it's jarring because we're humans, and even if the person...
- 38:57[SPEAKER_02]: who's getting hurt.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: That's like I can't watch fights.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care if I hate the person.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like seeing people.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's one thing to see in a movie, because you know what's fake.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_02]: But it's like just, and it's hard sometimes just to see it in a movie.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_02]: But it's like in real life, it was absolutely horrifying.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like, yeah, that would.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know any, I mean, obviously there are randos who are going to say shitty things.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: And we don't, you know, some of them are legit liberals.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_02]: Some of them are, I'm sure people in Russia are pretending to be liberals.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_02]: Either way, it doesn't matter what the rando says on the street.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: It matters what the president says.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: It matters what our leader says and no leaders.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no leaders ever celebrated that.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: No, not a one you had Jimmy Kimmel crying on his show about it, and then you had Rob Ryder with Pierce Morgan talking about how horrific it was, and neither one of them is the president of the United States, and I mean, the fact that Charlie Kirk got the flags lowered, but the two national guard people did not.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_00]: I hate this fucking timeline.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: I know we are so in the upside down.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what karma this country is paying back, but it's bad.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: I heard somebody talking about a really esoteric kind of idea that how did they say it?
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's like all the splintering within our own psyche is kind of playing out.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know if that's true.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: But I do think though
- 40:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think that there's been so many problems that even when things were good, they were only good for a portion of the people, right?
- 40:43[SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, if you're a marginalized group, if you're, you know, I mean, it's all a matter of degree.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's like white women experience a certain amount of discrimination, but black women experience a lot more than a white woman because they're black and a woman.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: And a woman, right?
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: Right, so it's like it's just going, you know, it's all these degrees of,
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: Why things are harder when you're not white and it's not just that because we've also got the issue of two You know, there's there's citizens united.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_02]: There's the whole issue with our health care system and what I You know, if you're gonna look at history and just look at health things have gone it seems to be
- 41:23[SPEAKER_02]: We've seen similar kinds of, I don't know, patterns before where things just get too fucking crazy and then everything crashes down and then it's rebuilt.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I think, obviously, it's all crashing down right now.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying it should have, but I'm trying to look at this as an opportunity because this is going to serve as an opportunity and it's up to the Democrats, really.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's up to the Democrats and the independence and the Republicans who are
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what the word is like willing because I think a lot of them all they hate Trump.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_02]: But they won't say it.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to all follow suit because they're afraid because they're greedy, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 42:00[UNKNOWN]: But.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: We have an opportunity, we're going to have an opportunity to kind of remake this country.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to have so many things are going to come crashing down, so many things have already come crashing down, that we could really make sweeping changes.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: And in order to make sweeping changes, we need to have really progressive, strong,
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm happy to, I don't care who they are.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't care if it's a centrist, as long as that centrist is like, okay, let me just give you an example because somebody had, you know, I was talking with Brian Kerrum and we were, Brian Kerrum was bringing up Mark Kelly because Mark Kelly was standing up to Trump in a way that we haven't seen other leaders do.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_02]: And it kind of occurred to me in that moment, oh my God, he could be president.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is, this is, might be the making of, you know, the next candidate.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_02]: And, um,
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: Some people, I said that and somebody argued about his centers.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, oh my God, she's not going presidents.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_02]: Don't make the laws.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's like, if he gets a plus, what do you think he's going to do with gun violence?
- 43:10[SPEAKER_02]: His fucking wife was shot.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: No shit.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: And so he's going to be great on gun legislation.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to sign everything that the Democrats put forward.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like he's going to say no.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: So who gives a shit if he's kind of more of a centrist because he's the fucking president Right, not going to decide everything right that's what the fucking Congress in the Senate is for oh my god.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going up
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: But it's like, I wish people would be more clear about this and stop freaking out.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that regardless of, you know, if he's considered a centrist or if we're going to progress, but I think we absolutely need to have sweeping progressive legislation.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: When we win democracy back so we can make these incredible changes in at least kind of secure the democratic party as the leader for a good long time.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how long people tend to forget.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_02]: You forget and you start going oh the fascist looks good.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it's it's When when Joe Biden was running everybody's like, and he's too he's too center right and it's like Put progressive legislation on his desk.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_00]: He will sign it.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and we're not talking about the bill Clinton era anymore because You know like there's that whole bill Clinton was the best Republican president we've ever had got right glass degloin all that shit
- 44:32[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, they have power, but I think in this day and age, just like what you said, he's going to sign everything.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's not or, you know, he or she.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: But I just think we need to get to what, you know, there's, there's people.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, when we looked at that last past special election in New York and Virginia,
- 44:52[SPEAKER_02]: It was the same message, but we have Mom Dom, Mom Donny, who is super progressive.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, that we've got Abogale Abogale, I told you, my brain Abogale Spamberger, who is, I think, a little bit more centrist, but still a progressive person.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_02]: But they were running on the same message.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_02]: And that's, you know, that's what people responded to.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that, you know, I wish that
- 45:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to get there, but I mean, how hopeful are you, because like you just said, as long as there's not rat fuckery, how afraid of you are rat fuck, like how do you feel about moving forward where we're going because we've been at this for a year now.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think that because weirdly Rob Reiner's death might break a lot of the magas away from him.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Nick fucking Fuentes, who loves Adolf Hitler and thinks he's a swell guy, thinks that what Donald did was evil?
- 45:52[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's evil for a lot of things, but comparing contrast, a nasty, awful, disgusting
- 46:02[SPEAKER_00]: in all of his glory.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, but as bad as what Donald did, it ain't Hitler yet.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I mean, friends of mine argue with me about that.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, honey, this is the beginning of it.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the end yet.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: It started slowly.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's going faster, but it did start slowly.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_00]: She's read a fucking history book, people, but I think that people, I mean, you've got mad.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, smart enough.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_00]: She's waiting till her pension kicks in to leave, but not that she needs it, because she's very wealthy.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_00]: She's not stupid.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, she's not.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_00]: No, she's not.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_00]: She's very cunning.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_00]: She's leaving.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: There are rumors that a lot of others are going to start leaving before the election, which
- 46:52[SPEAKER_00]: before the election, which could halt a bunch of shit.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, wait a minute, look, this is just coming down.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: A.P.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: Republicans defies Speaker Johnson to force House vote on extending a sub-studies.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_02]: Interesting, okay, we'll see.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, that's all they can do is vote for it.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then it's got to go to the stupid Senate, which is going to be a stupid Senate.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, I just keep hoping.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's just keep hoping.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: And then, okay, so just the last question I've got for you, the last question of my last podcast of 2020.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: How are you celebrating, like, what are you doing this holiday season?
- 47:32[SPEAKER_02]: How are you celebrating it?
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: Are you all decorated out?
- 47:35[SPEAKER_02]: Do you care?
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: Are you going to parties?
- 47:37[SPEAKER_02]: What's going on?
- 47:38[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we don't decorate because of the cats.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: I've never did outside.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_00]: That was just, no.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_00]: I've never done it.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: My friend, my old roommate, Andy did it one year, but never, because I might have it.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and a tree, there's no way.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, our other cat, she was fine.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: She couldn't have cared less, but these two, it'd be down and it would be bad.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, so no.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_00]: We have all the Christmas cards up on our mantle and so when the cats jump up there I know when they're up there because they just fall fall now, but We might go to my brothers, but his wife just had knee surgery so they're waiting to see how she feels for Christmas Eve Lonnie's mom was gonna come out on either Christmas Eve or Christmas day, but they've decided they're coming out on Saturday So we're gonna celebrate with them on Saturday
- 48:33[SPEAKER_00]: And then I don't know if we're going to go up and see my mom or not.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, it's just, you know, I might favorite holidays Thanksgiving.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 48:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's less pressure.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's true.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_00]: And up until the past, I don't know, maybe 10 years, 15 years.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: When I first moved into this house, I would just have friends over for Thanksgiving.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I always
- 49:03[SPEAKER_00]: And so I would, my friend Sean one time came over and he made a turduckin.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_00]: What's that?
- 49:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a turkey stuffed with a duck stuffed with a hen.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like a million calories per slice.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_00]: With stuffing in between each layer of animal.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they're all, it's all deboned.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: So it's easy to cut, but I was like, first off, I don't, I don't eat, I haven't eaten turkey or anything like that in forever.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_00]: And at that time, I still, I wasn't.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_00]: But I was like, cool, just, do you make that?
- 49:36[SPEAKER_00]: So Sean's here.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_00]: You go with your turd duck and go.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, my Thanksgiving's were all, hey, if you don't want to go home or can't go home, come on over.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_00]: So we'd have between 15 and sometimes 35 people here.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody would bring a meal.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I have warmers for food and I bought so much stuff to just lay stuff out.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if it was nice, we'd all eat outside or whatever.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, no major.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_00]: drama.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_00]: And so, but I mean, we Lonnie went to his mom's in Palm Springs for Thanksgiving.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_00]: I was sick.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_00]: So I was like, I don't want to get any basic because the average age, not counting Lonnie was like 70.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm like, I do not want to get people in their 76.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to be responsible for that.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think it was COVID.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_00]: It was a weird flu, I think, because it was very strange.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: And what was weird was Lonnie's mom had it.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: And a couple of the people that were in at the Thanksgiving event at his mom's, they were like, yeah, we had the same thing.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, OK, so it's going around, but it wasn't COVID.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_02]: It was weird.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, I got, I got a cold, but it was really low grade.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: So that wasn't it.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_00]: But yes, I mean, in general, we don't really, I mean, Christmas, I don't have kids, you know, if I had little kids and be different, but I don't, I mean, we used to go to the Conways on Christmas Eve as in Tim, now I used the Conways, well, you know, that's what they are.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's your life.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_00]: But no, I mean, it was funny because my dad used to go for years and years and years and
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: And so that year, because he passed away in June of 1991.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: So that Christmas, I just showed up because my dad would bring me.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I just, right.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_00]: And so Sharky has missed Conway's wife opens the door.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_00]: And hi, honey, come on in.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_00]: I said, is it okay?
- 51:35[SPEAKER_00]: She goes, yeah, of course.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_00]: And one year, my little sister and I were going to go.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I literally got an email from Sharky going, we're in Del Mar, don't go to the house.
- 51:45[UNKNOWN]: It's a lucky day.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm on my way.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to sit on the stoop and wait.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_00]: We're not doing it this year.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, they had these great Christmas Eve gatherings.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then the grand children were open presents.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_00]: It was always very nice.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: It saw at least five of the six kids that he had on average four to five of them.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, and so it was just a lot of fun over there and it was very, and it was a lot of pasta because Cherokee is Italian.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there was Cherokee in all of that, but it was more, and it was not formal, you know, it was not everybody sat wherever the hell they wanted to say.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there was a dining table, but everybody kind of sat wherever the hell they wanted to sit.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_00]: So it was kind of, it was, it was, those were fun nights.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_00]: Those are really fun nights.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I do miss doing that.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I do.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know like for all these years, my mom and I were,
- 52:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, my mom moved away from Los Angeles in 2003, so I was in Los Angeles by myself from 2003 to 2009.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_02]: So whenever I would, um, do Christmas, you know, just like go to wherever she was, sometimes I would also go to Maryland.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_02]: But, um, I remember in 2013, you know, in 2013, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know,
- 52:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was 2017, 2018.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was 2018.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Bob and I were in Santa Rosa, and there was no family, and it was just a two of us, and I gotta say,
- 53:09[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't mind doing that again.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we did it in 2020, obviously.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: It was just to do of us for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_02]: And while I enjoy something, like, we usually have fun family celebrations and it's not a bad time or anything like that.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like all awkward and freakish.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_02]: But it's still, it's like, I'm used to,
- 53:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think when I was younger, I used to feel sorry for myself, because sometimes it was just me and my mom, and now I'm just like, oh those were the days.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like no matter what you get, you're like, oh that was better.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_02]: But I think this year it's funny because as you know, I went a little like, not nuts with decorating, but it looks like a Kimberly version of a hallmark Christmas
- 54:00[SPEAKER_02]: And you know there's just a lot like every and the thing is is because I work out in the living room.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_02]: You just like deck the halls.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought while I'm sitting there working, I just want to look around it especially.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's been great because it's snowed here twice already.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_02]: Although one time it was overnight which pissed me off because then I can't look at it.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_02]: One day it was snowing.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like I could just sit there and look out the window.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: and look at the snow and it was like, it's so exciting.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, then I had to go out in it and it was like that wasn't exciting.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's different.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, going out in it is way, way, way, way, way.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_02]: I had to go out in it.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't too bad because there was snow in my car, but I just brushed it off.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't, like, freeze on.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_02]: So that was fun.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I mean, I just, you know, we're doing our typical family, you know, whatever.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_02]: And Bob and I can't spend Christmas day together because he has to go to his family.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to my family.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's what's like weird.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's like now it's just kind of splintered in every year.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be different to nine or no.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_02]: So whatever.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: I just like the day core.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's my favorite part.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_02]: And, um, and this year, I'm going to be baking not only for the family, but for the firemen, and I've told this story before, but the funny, I'm not going to do it this year.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_02]: But one time I asked a fireman at the grocery store.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you know, I always see them shopping.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_02]: So I was like, hey, if I make cookies for you, will you eat them because I'm stranger and you don't know and they're like, well, absolutely eat them.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_02]: So I made all these cookies one year.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, I had so many cookies.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_02]: And I did those like sugar angel cookies.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I wrote bite me and eat me on the angle.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I put them on the bottom.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I put all of the chocolate chips and everything on top.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_02]: So once they got to the bottom, they saw my little nasty angels, but I'm not going to give nasty angels this year, but I am going to make firemen the cookies because I feel like, you know what, there's, there's right up the street from us and I'm just so grateful they're there, you know, and that, you know, fire firefighters are just need to be celebrated and, and appreciate it.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_00]: Now, my neighbor across the street, my neighbor across the street is one of his housemates is a paramedic.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_00]: And our the closest fire station is barely a mile from our house.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like right there.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_00]: And because he's in the neighborhood, if anything happen at the neighborhood boom, he's there.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_00]: Even faster than probably normal.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_00]: So he's having him in the neighborhood for sure.
