- 0:01Speaker 1: And we're back!
- 0:03Speaker 2: Welcome to episode 204, episode 4 of season 2 of
- 0:09Speaker 2: the Scrubs Revival. This is the Fake Doctors Real Friends podcast.
- 0:13Speaker 2: And I am your host, Zach Braff, along with my co-host.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Oh, you're not going to introduce... I'm Donald Faison.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Hi, everybody.
- 0:20Speaker 2: That was going so well, and so you effed it up.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I didn't eff it up.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Ahem. Ahem.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Along with my co-host.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Donald Faison.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Yeah, baby. And we have back with us for episode four,
- 0:32Speaker 2: Sarah Chalk and Ava Bunn. Thunderous applause.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Hi, guys.
- 0:36Speaker 5: Hi.
- 0:36Speaker 2: And live from Los Angeles in the iHeart Studios, Joelle Monique,
- 0:40Speaker 2: our producer, living legend. She is not only our producer,
- 0:45Speaker 2: but she is a big mocky mock at iHeart. And
- 0:48Speaker 2: she knows everything there is about pop culture. If you
- 0:50Speaker 2: guys have any questions, she can answer it. Any topics.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Well, I think we covered in the last podcast that
- 0:55Speaker 3: I probably made a lot of lessons on pop culture. So, Joelle,
- 0:59Speaker 3: I will be texting you later.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Joelle, what show are you watching? What's your new favorite show?
- 1:04Speaker 2: Joelle will have a strong opinion.
- 1:07Speaker 6: Hi, Donald. Are you watching Lanterns?
- 1:09Speaker 1: I am. It's good. I liked episode three the best.
- 1:12Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 1:13Speaker 6: Episode three was because it hit.
- 1:14Speaker 3: It smashed.
- 1:15Speaker 1: It was really good.
- 1:15Speaker 6: I'm really enjoying Lanterns. And I was surprised.
- 1:17Speaker 4: I wasn't sure what to anticipate. But it's really hitting
- 1:21Speaker 4: for me. And then I got the old Brit box.
- 1:23Speaker 4: I've been enjoying the British.
- 1:26Speaker 6: What did I just watch?
- 1:29Speaker 4: Vanity Fair with the girl from Night of the Seven Kingdoms,
- 1:34Speaker 4: the other Game of Thrones show.
- 1:35Speaker 7: Olivia.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Amazing. Incredible.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I've been watching Furious, which is really good.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Ooh!
- 1:41Speaker 2: Are you loving it? Yeah, very well done.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Is it about.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Emmy Rossum, very good actress. I never watched Shameless, so
- 1:47Speaker 2: I didn't really know the full extent of how talented
- 1:50Speaker 2: Emmy Rossum is, and she's very good.
- 1:51Speaker 6: She's got range.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Well, let's get into the TV show Scrubs, everybody. This
- 1:57Speaker 2: was directed by Randall Winston.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Yeah, thunderous applause.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Thunderous applause.
- 2:02Speaker 7: The best.
- 2:02Speaker 2: And I want to say this is the first one
- 2:04Speaker 2: we're doing. This is kind of a funny thing, audience.
- 2:06Speaker 2: You'll have to be patient with us. This cut isn't
- 2:09Speaker 2: locked and we're talking about it. So there might be
- 2:11Speaker 2: things that come up. that don't make it to the
- 2:14Speaker 2: final version you're seeing.
- 2:16Speaker 1: This is what I was saying was so dangerous, bro.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Well, what's dangerous? We have to record a podcast. The
- 2:21Speaker 2: show isn't quite locked yet. What's dangerous?
- 2:23Speaker 1: What's dangerous is that we're seeing things that maybe we
- 2:26Speaker 1: shouldn't be seeing. Sometimes it's not your favorite take. Sometimes
- 2:30Speaker 1: it's not Bill's favorite take.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Oh, I see. What's happened, audience, just so you know,
- 2:34Speaker 2: is because we're doing this podcast, Donald and Sarah, and
- 2:38Speaker 2: in this case, our guest, Ava, have been given early
- 2:40Speaker 2: access to cuts, and they don't normally see them. And
- 2:44Speaker 2: Donald is watching them over and over and over again
- 2:47Speaker 2: and analyzing every frame.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Well, I just love our show so much. And so,
- 2:52Speaker 1: you know, in ways that, you know, Ava's learning by
- 2:57Speaker 1: hanging out on set. We were talking about that the
- 2:59Speaker 1: last podcast. The way I'm learning is how things are cut.
- 3:03Speaker 1: That's kind of... It has a lot to do with
- 3:06Speaker 1: stop-motion animation, you know, and how... you know, instead of
- 3:10Speaker 1: hanging out on set, I can watch the actual cut
- 3:13Speaker 1: of things and see, okay, they went master over, over
- 3:17Speaker 1: just for my own. So I'm able to use it
- 3:22Speaker 1: in my world, in the stop motion world.
- 3:24Speaker 2: The other, sorry, well, I was going to, I was
- 3:27Speaker 2: going to just interject that. The other thing is, is that,
- 3:30Speaker 2: You know, unless you're editing the show, you don't really
- 3:33Speaker 2: see the evolution of the show starting good, then getting better,
- 3:37Speaker 2: then getting better, then getting better, then cut to 21 minutes,
- 3:40Speaker 2: and it gets great. It takes a lot of incarnations.
- 3:44Speaker 2: We have two amazing editors. We have lots of folks
- 3:47Speaker 2: that weigh in, including, of course, the studio and network.
- 3:51Speaker 2: And by the time the thing is locked lock, it's
- 3:53Speaker 2: become something we're all hopefully very proud of. But if
- 3:56Speaker 2: you choose to watch, because now that Donald and Sarah
- 3:59Speaker 2: have access to the site where we, the encrypted site
- 4:03Speaker 2: where we watch these cuts, early cuts, you might go, eh,
- 4:06Speaker 2: that scene's not working yet. And then as an actor,
- 4:09Speaker 2: sometimes you can go, oh, I don't like this, but
- 4:12Speaker 2: we haven't gotten it great yet. So you're taking in
- 4:15Speaker 2: watching some of those cuts.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Absolutely. But it sings when it's locked. That's the crazy thing.
- 4:19Speaker 1: It's like you sit there and you're like, ugh. Why
- 4:22Speaker 1: did they do that take with me? And then you
- 4:26Speaker 1: see it two days later and you're like, holy shit,
- 4:30Speaker 1: this is a completely different show. Like jokes that they
- 4:33Speaker 1: hung on for a little too long all of a
- 4:35Speaker 1: sudden are punched and you're like, whoa, that made me
- 4:38Speaker 1: laugh harder than it did the first time. And that's
- 4:42Speaker 1: what I'm learning. And it makes you go back. Like,
- 4:44Speaker 1: so I'm editing some shit right now in my, you know,
- 4:49Speaker 1: from my garage movies and stuff like that. And I
- 4:51Speaker 1: did an edit And now I'm like, all right, well,
- 4:53Speaker 1: how can I trim it to make it move faster?
- 4:55Speaker 1: How can I, you know, and that all comes from
- 4:59Speaker 1: watching the progression of shows.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah. It's cool. I haven't had that experience before of
- 5:04Speaker 3: like watching stuff that's a bit earlier. And I know
- 5:06Speaker 3: we're not seeing the earliest ones, but we're seeing earlier cuts.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And like, I haven't found yet that I'm like, oh,
- 5:12Speaker 3: I wish this was in or out or this was
- 5:14Speaker 3: still in. It's more I find super interesting to go
- 5:16Speaker 3: like Donald said, like, oh my God, it got so
- 5:18Speaker 3: tight and it got so much better. And I think like,
- 5:21Speaker 3: of course, if you had a favorite scene or you
- 5:22Speaker 3: work super hard on a model, whatever it is, like
- 5:25Speaker 3: we all want the greater, like we just want the
- 5:27Speaker 3: best episode out there. And so like, you know, it's
- 5:30Speaker 3: like you said last episode, Zach, that there was that
- 5:32Speaker 3: whole runner of you and Bilson with the otters that
- 5:34Speaker 3: was so fucking funny. And you had to let that
- 5:37Speaker 3: go in order to like make the time of the
- 5:40Speaker 3: show and let other things live and So I feel
- 5:43Speaker 3: like it's actually just been a really interesting learning experience
- 5:46Speaker 3: to see that.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you why you're not seeing things
- 5:49Speaker 1: that I'm seeing when you watch this, Sarah, because you're
- 5:51Speaker 1: having a fucking amazing season, bro. Thunderous applause, Sarah. Thunderous applause.
- 5:56Speaker 1: You are having an amazing season.
- 5:58Speaker 2: You really are. You're really shining.
- 6:00Speaker 1: It's like really, it's so fun to watch, yo. And
- 6:04Speaker 1: I love your storyline this season and how you're tackling it.
- 6:07Speaker 1: And so just putting it out there. That's the reason
- 6:11Speaker 1: why when you watch it, you're like, oh, I don't
- 6:13Speaker 1: see what, because you're fucking killing it. That's why.
- 6:16Speaker 7: You are killing it.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I'm so happy that we have unleashed crazy, neurotic Elliot again.
- 6:23Speaker 3: It's been super fun to do. The writing's been so good.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I mean, we have such a good writer's room. And
- 6:28Speaker 3: like we were talking about before, like having writers on
- 6:30Speaker 3: set all the time, punching up jokes.
- 6:32Speaker 1: But I don't just mean the comedy. I'm also talking
- 6:34Speaker 1: about the freaking drama and the realism and everything. It's
- 6:38Speaker 1: like you're putting together this freaking great, you know, we're
- 6:43Speaker 1: very lucky because we know how the story goes and
- 6:46Speaker 1: what's coming next and stuff like that. And so after
- 6:48Speaker 1: watching the first five and being able to see what
- 6:51Speaker 1: you're doing with this season, it's kind of like we're
- 6:54Speaker 1: all athletes and stuff and we're all playing on the
- 6:56Speaker 1: same team. And, you know, some people, you know, some
- 7:00Speaker 1: people are playing in their lane, some people are going
- 7:02Speaker 1: above and beyond, some people, you know what I mean?
- 7:04Speaker 1: But we're all trying to make this... We're trying to
- 7:07Speaker 1: all make this show work, right? And Sarah, you are,
- 7:11Speaker 1: you know, if this is Michael Jordan, you are Scottie
- 7:15Speaker 1: Pippen right now. You know what I'm saying?
- 7:18Speaker 3: Donald, I've never loved an analogy more because, as you know,
- 7:21Speaker 3: I wanted to be an athlete so badly and I've
- 7:22Speaker 3: never made a team. Are you going to have to
- 7:24Speaker 3: Google who Scottie Pippen is?
- 7:26Speaker 5: Yes.
- 7:27Speaker 9: You're so Scottie Pippen.
- 7:30Speaker 3: But I'm part of a team.
- 7:31Speaker 1: No, no, I know.
- 7:31Speaker 2: You're classic Scottie Pippen.
- 7:32Speaker 7: But I'm part of a team.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Can we have jerseys?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's called Scrubs.
- 7:37Speaker 2: We are getting jerseys. They're called Scrubs. Those are our jerseys.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Spoiler alert, our wrap gift this season is going to
- 7:43Speaker 2: be hockey jerseys.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Yes, because they're in Canada.
- 7:45Speaker 2: With your name on the back.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Because we're in Canada.
- 7:48Speaker 9: Because we're in Canada.
- 7:48Speaker 7: Wait, who am I?
- 7:52Speaker 2: Well, who would be a rookie who's killing it?
- 7:54Speaker 1: We're like Tony Kukoc.
- 7:56Speaker 2: You're like Larry Bird.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Larry Bird was a killer his rookie season, but he's older.
- 8:00Speaker 2: No, but who's like a current rookie killing it?
- 8:03Speaker 1: A current rookie killing it right now? I was going
- 8:06Speaker 1: old school, like 90s basketball. But if you want to
- 8:09Speaker 1: go currently- Caitlin Clark. We are the New York Knicks.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Caitlin Clark.
- 8:13Speaker 1: You could totally be Caitlin Clark.
- 8:13Speaker 2: You can be Caitlin Clark. You can be Caitlin Clark.
- 8:15Speaker 1: That's totally who you could be.
- 8:16Speaker 2: But I was trying to think, staying in the same
- 8:18Speaker 2: analogy of men's NBA- Is there a rookie this year
- 8:22Speaker 2: who's fucking shining?
- 8:24Speaker 1: This year that's shining?
- 8:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Ava Bunn. Let's go.
- 8:28Speaker 7: Yay.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 8:29Speaker 3: She may be someone else.
- 8:30Speaker 1: She's been herself.
- 8:30Speaker 7: I want Keelan Clark on the Knicks playing Ava Bunn.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:35Speaker 1: She's killing you. I'm just going to put it out there.
- 8:38Speaker 1: She's destroying you. That is exactly who you are.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Yes.
- 8:40Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 8:41Speaker 2: All right. Thanks, guys. Let's get into it. Count us in, Donald.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 8:49Speaker 8: About a bunch of docs and nurses in a Canada
- 8:52Speaker 8: who love to hate. I said he's got stories that
- 8:55Speaker 8: we all should know. So gather round to hear our,
- 9:01Speaker 8: gather round to hear our Scrubs Rewatch Show with Zach
- 9:05Speaker 8: and Donald.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Welcome to episode four. We open with Dubois giving JD
- 9:13Speaker 2: the sex report.
- 9:15Speaker 1: This was hilarious.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah. They bangin'. They bangin'?.
- 9:19Speaker 1: They bangin'. Oh, wait.
- 9:21Speaker 2: She bangin'? She bangin'?.
- 9:22Speaker 1: They bangin'. She bangin'..
- 9:25Speaker 2: Did I do it correct? Did I read her for filth?
- 9:29Speaker 3: Go to the library.
- 9:32Speaker 2: By the way, Joelle, I can't wait for you to
- 9:34Speaker 2: meet Michael James Scott. He is one of the funniest,
- 9:36Speaker 2: nicest people I've ever met.
- 9:39Speaker 1: And he's a Broadway legend.
- 9:41Speaker 3: He's an icon.
- 9:41Speaker 2: He's an icon. And we're going to hang out in
- 9:44Speaker 2: New York. Are you going to have time? Because Donald
- 9:46Speaker 2: and I are going to New York to do Press
- 9:47Speaker 2: for the launch.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I would love to hang out with you guys, and
- 9:50Speaker 1: I will make time for you.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Because Michael's already making plans with me, and I wondered
- 9:54Speaker 2: if you're going.
- 9:54Speaker 1: To hang out. I will come through for Sheezy my kneezy.
- 9:57Speaker 2: But I love acting with Michael. He makes me laugh.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Not only is he hilarious on the show, but just
- 10:03Speaker 2: he comes on the set with just the most wonderful energy.
- 10:06Speaker 2: You know? He's just silly and happy and he never
- 10:10Speaker 2: walks on a set like most normal people who've had
- 10:14Speaker 2: a shitty day and are like, hey, how are you?
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'm just tired. Michael's just like, hello!
- 10:19Speaker 9: You went real Broadway with that just now.
- 10:21Speaker 2: He's the Broadway legend. Yeah, he is.
- 10:23Speaker 3: And then, I mean, as a side note, just starting
- 10:26Speaker 3: the dances, like starting the TikTok dances.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Well, I empowered him to. Ava was the sole wrangler
- 10:34Speaker 2: of trying to get people to do social media. And
- 10:37Speaker 2: when Michael showed interest, I said, do you want to
- 10:39Speaker 2: be Ava's co-captain? And now you've got involved. You have
- 10:42Speaker 2: three captains now.
- 10:44Speaker 7: I'm excited.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I'm excited for my new job.
- 10:46Speaker 2: They keep telling us, Joelle, that we need to do
- 10:48Speaker 2: more social media. I've got enough on my plate. So
- 10:51Speaker 2: I've asked.
- 10:52Speaker 3: This would be a good opportunity for us to talk
- 10:55Speaker 3: about how much Zach is doing and has on his plate.
- 10:57Speaker 2: He's doing so much. But I just want to say
- 11:00Speaker 2: that I appreciate you. Thank you. But I'm not going
- 11:03Speaker 2: to take on TikTok. That's you. And Ava and Michael.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Chanty Beluga videos.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I think that one's done. You're the one, by the way,
- 11:12Speaker 2: you're the 25-year-old. You're supposed to know what the current
- 11:15Speaker 2: trend is.
- 11:15Speaker 7: Chanty Beluga was current.
- 11:17Speaker 2: That's not current.
- 11:19Speaker 7: Chanty Beluga just got kidnapped, actually.
- 11:21Speaker 5: No.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Is Chanty Beluga still a thing?
- 11:25Speaker 5: Well, she's going through it right now, but Chanty's... Is
- 11:28Speaker 5: Chanty Beluga like AI?
- 11:29Speaker 2: No. It's her friend.
- 11:31Speaker 7: She's a comedian.
- 11:32Speaker 5: It's Courtney O'Donnell, comedian, but there were allegations that she
- 11:38Speaker 5: was an AI. But I'm like, that's epic to blow
- 11:40Speaker 5: up that much.
- 11:41Speaker 7: You get AI allegations.
- 11:42Speaker 1: That's how it goes.
- 11:43Speaker 7: You know?
- 11:43Speaker 1: That's how it goes. It used to be when you
- 11:46Speaker 1: blow up, you're gay. Everybody's like, you've got to be
- 11:49Speaker 1: gay because... It's everywhere. You know what I mean?
- 11:54Speaker 9: Now it's AI.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Now it's AI because it's everywhere.
- 11:58Speaker 5: That's how you know you've made it.
- 12:02Speaker 2: All right. Elliot wants to find a bigger purpose. Elliot
- 12:06Speaker 2: wants to find... It reminds me of in episode one
- 12:10Speaker 2: with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers when we're like, chief
- 12:12Speaker 2: of surgery, chief of medicine, not chief of anything.
- 12:15Speaker 3: But a strong female doctor who has.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Achieved a lot. And so I think Elliot, understandably, because
- 12:21Speaker 2: we know from the lore, the canon of the show,
- 12:24Speaker 2: that she's an exceptional doctor. We just saw in episode
- 12:27Speaker 2: three that she's got this rare diagnosis. She's really good.
- 12:30Speaker 2: And she's looking to do more than just be an
- 12:34Speaker 2: attending to. She's looking for her bigger purpose.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I loved it. I love the storyline. I love when
- 12:38Speaker 3: you told me about it. I feel like it's, you know,
- 12:41Speaker 3: I feel like a lot of women are going to
- 12:43Speaker 3: be able to relate to that to when you're, you know,
- 12:45Speaker 3: You have infants and your job, and then your kids
- 12:48Speaker 3: reach a certain age. Ollie's 11, and your life is
- 12:50Speaker 3: starting to open up with a bit more time to
- 12:52Speaker 3: go like, oh, wait a second. I didn't do everything
- 12:54Speaker 3: I wanted to do in this lifetime. And then Tosh
- 12:57Speaker 3: tells her it's not too late.
- 12:58Speaker 7: Not too late.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Yeah, actually, I didn't really put that together, that the
- 13:02Speaker 2: Tosh in episode two sort of says it's not too
- 13:06Speaker 2: late for anything. That was sort of seeded by Tosh.
- 13:10Speaker 2: And then now she's starting to say like, yeah, let
- 13:12Speaker 2: me actually take action on that.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I love that she goes to JD and actually doesn't
- 13:16Speaker 3: even have the idea yet.
- 13:18Speaker 2: That's what's funny that, of course, we discover that she's
- 13:22Speaker 2: so passionate because she really wants to be in the
- 13:24Speaker 2: swimsuit issue as a powerful woman.
- 13:28Speaker 3: So she sees the swimsuit issue, the Sports Illustrated issue.
- 13:30Speaker 2: She's backing in from that.
- 13:31Speaker 1: But that's the beginning.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And then we're going to go backwards from that.
- 13:34Speaker 3: No, no.
- 13:35Speaker 2: The end goal is the swimsuit issue.
- 13:37Speaker 7: That's on the vision board.
- 13:38Speaker 2: That's on the vision board. Exactly, Ava.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Which is not sure how we're going to get there.
- 13:40Speaker 2: She has no plan how to get to the swimsuit issue.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I love that J.D. is like, yo, you used to
- 13:46Speaker 1: wear sweats when we were together, and now you want
- 13:50Speaker 1: to pose?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Yeah, like an Amish woman plowing the fields.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah, and now you want to pose? In a high-cut,
- 13:55Speaker 1: sensible way.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I don't think J.D. has seen, probably because they weren't
- 14:00Speaker 2: in a happy marriage, he probably hadn't seen her in
- 14:03Speaker 2: a naughty fit in a while. No, no, no.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Wait, what are you trying to say? That when you're married,
- 14:08Speaker 1: you don't?
- 14:09Speaker 2: No, they weren't in a happy marriage and they eventually
- 14:11Speaker 2: got divorced. I've been in that situation, but I imagine
- 14:14Speaker 2: the lingerie wasn't flying around left and right.
- 14:17Speaker 7: You kept top on.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Top on sex.
- 14:20Speaker 7: Winnie the Pooh-ing it.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I've never heard of Winnie the Pooh-ing it. Is that
- 14:26Speaker 2: a thing?
- 14:26Speaker 5: Yes.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I'm going to Winnie the.
- 14:30Speaker 7: Pooh that thing.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Wait, that's an expression? Winnie the Pooh-ing it?
- 14:32Speaker 7: Winnie the Pooh-ing it.
- 14:33Speaker 1: When you just have the T-shirt on.
- 14:34Speaker 7: Yeah, just the T-shirt, no pants.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Ava, thank you for introducing us to you. Thank you
- 14:39Speaker 2: for Winnie the Pooh-ing it.
- 14:40Speaker 7: You're Winnie the Pooh-ing it.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Is Winnie the Pooh-ing it a good thing or a
- 14:43Speaker 1: bad thing?
- 14:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, sometimes you just keep the top on, right?
- 14:46Speaker 7: Sometimes it's kind of chic to Winnie the Pooh-ing.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely. You guys, Ava.
- 14:51Speaker 6: You've seen it played way, you know.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Ava, you're ridiculous.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Ava's teaching me so many things.
- 14:57Speaker 2: What are some other things Ava saw you? First of all,
- 14:59Speaker 2: all of the- Oh, how to eat it down?
- 15:01Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Eat it down?
- 15:02Speaker 2: No, no, no. Eat it up?
- 15:03Speaker 7: Eat it up. No, eat it down.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Eat it down.
- 15:06Speaker 3: That's like if you killed a scene, like if you
- 15:08Speaker 3: did so good on it.
- 15:09Speaker 1: You ate that down.
- 15:09Speaker 2: You ate that down. Low-key. You low-key ate that down.
- 15:12Speaker 2: I know low-key.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Rocco uses that. Low-key.
- 15:14Speaker 7: Low-key ate that down.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I'm freaking whatever.
- 15:16Speaker 2: She has a line in an upcoming episode, sorry, spoiler,
- 15:19Speaker 2: where she says, did we just low-key eat that down?
- 15:22Speaker 2: And Jacob's character has no, he's like, I have no
- 15:25Speaker 2: idea what that means, but I don't think we did.
- 15:29Speaker 3: And then Layla and Ava were teaching me, speak on it.
- 15:34Speaker 7: Speak on it.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Speak on it. And say it to my chest. I
- 15:36Speaker 3: kept getting it wrong. I kept being like, Speak to
- 15:39Speaker 3: my chest? Speak to my chest.
- 15:40Speaker 7: Speak it onto my chest.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Speak it onto my talking chest. What is speak it
- 15:43Speaker 2: onto my chest?
- 15:44Speaker 3: It's not that.
- 15:45Speaker 5: It's like say it with your chest.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Oh, say it with your chest.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Or speak on it.
- 15:50Speaker 7: Or speak on that.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Speak on it.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Speak on it.
- 15:52Speaker 7: Speak on that. And then Sarah would be like, speak on.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It to me with my chest.
- 15:56Speaker 2: You know what you don't do that a lot of
- 15:59Speaker 2: your generation does that I don't really like?
- 16:01Speaker 7: What?
- 16:01Speaker 2: That part. What?
- 16:03Speaker 3: That?
- 16:04Speaker 2: When they go, that part.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Wait, I don't know this one.
- 16:07Speaker 7: I don't even know that one.
- 16:08Speaker 2: So someone says something, and it's the equivalent of saying, like,
- 16:10Speaker 2: I totally agree with you. They go, yeah, that part.
- 16:13Speaker 7: That part.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Why do you not know that, and I know that?
- 16:15Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I've seen it on the interwebs.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I think it's a little bit older than her generation.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Joelle, have you heard that part?
- 16:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that might be my generation.
- 16:23Speaker 6: A little bit older.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Now, Donald, this was very funny. You were... in surgery,
- 16:31Speaker 2: you were listening, you were doing Oprah's monologue from Color Purple.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yes. Which is still one of the best monologues ever.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I agree. And this was not what was written. We
- 16:40Speaker 2: made this up on the day.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Yes.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I mean, that this is what, this is, because there
- 16:44Speaker 2: were versions of you rapping along to a song. And
- 16:46Speaker 2: I'm like, God, we just did a whole episode with
- 16:48Speaker 2: him and the music in the OR. Is there something else?
- 16:51Speaker 2: And then we said, and I thought of you and
- 16:55Speaker 2: what you might be doing. And you actually might be
- 16:57Speaker 2: distracted by doing Oprah's monologue from The Color Purple.
- 17:00Speaker 1: It's one of the greatest monologues. You told Harpo to
- 17:03Speaker 1: beat me. Ever since I saw that, all my life,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I has to fight. Dude, okay, I hear you.
- 17:12Speaker 9: It's iconic.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I love that movie. I mean, I couldn't believe, I mean,
- 17:16Speaker 2: Oprah obviously went off on a different path.
- 17:19Speaker 1: She ate that to her face.
- 17:20Speaker 2: No, I'm saying, I always thought.
- 17:22Speaker 1: She ate that down to her chest.
- 17:23Speaker 2: All my life, I have thought that. Oprah went off
- 17:28Speaker 2: on a talk show path and became a zillionaire, but man,
- 17:31Speaker 2: was she a fantastic actress.
- 17:33Speaker 1: In The Color Purple, she was amazing. I've seen very
- 17:36Speaker 1: little of her acting since The Color Purple.
- 17:38Speaker 2: No, I'm saying when I saw that movie, I think
- 17:41Speaker 2: she won an Oscar, right?
- 17:42Speaker 1: No, I don't even think she got nominated.
- 17:44Speaker 2: No, Joelle, look it up. I think she won. She
- 17:46Speaker 2: definitely got nominated.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I don't think she got nominated.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Joelle, come on, buddy.
- 17:51Speaker 3: I'm looking. I did not know that was coming because
- 17:56Speaker 3: it wasn't in the script. So when I watched the episode,
- 17:58Speaker 3: it's so good, Donald.
- 17:59Speaker 2: And I love that Layla goes, yeah, that's when the
- 18:03Speaker 2: blood started splurting. Right around there is when the blood
- 18:08Speaker 2: started splurting.
- 18:09Speaker 1: This is a great episode for Layla, speaking of Layla.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Yes, Layla has a great episode. Sorry, what's the verdict?
- 18:15Speaker 6: Oprah got a nomination. She did not win.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Oh, she should have won. Who beat her?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Ben Kingsley.
- 18:20Speaker 7: In 1985?
- 18:21Speaker 6: Let's find out.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Look that up, please.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Glyn Close.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah, Layla has a great storyline in this episode,
- 18:29Speaker 2: and she does a fantastic job.
- 18:30Speaker 1: She really does. And this is what I really love
- 18:33Speaker 1: about what our show is doing this year. It's like, okay,
- 18:37Speaker 1: so Ava's been promoted to series regular, and I was worried,
- 18:42Speaker 1: how are we going to service the other characters and
- 18:44Speaker 1: stuff like that? And Asim in the writer's room has
- 18:47Speaker 1: really found ways to service everyone. And Layla's storyline this year,
- 18:52Speaker 1: her finding her voice and her finding her strength and
- 18:57Speaker 1: her turning into one of the better surgeons, I think
- 19:01Speaker 1: mainly because her and, you know, I should say Amara
- 19:05Speaker 1: and Deshana are being taught by Turk. They're becoming really,
- 19:10Speaker 1: really good doctors. And this is one of those episodes
- 19:14Speaker 1: where it starts to show.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Well, she has to assert herself. She has to learn
- 19:18Speaker 2: to not get walked all over, which I'm sure is
- 19:20Speaker 2: something that a lot of female surgeons have to deal with.
- 19:25Speaker 2: It's stereotypically been a boys club, a jockey boys club.
- 19:30Speaker 1: But she's, yeah, she's, the two of them are turning
- 19:35Speaker 1: it into a girls club, if anything, because the boys
- 19:38Speaker 1: are falling behind.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Go ahead, Joelle. Who beat her?
- 19:40Speaker 6: Angelica Houston for Pritzy's Honor.
- 19:43Speaker 8: Wow.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I don't remember. With all due respect, I don't remember
- 19:47Speaker 2: Angelica Houston's performance in Pritzy's Honor. I will revisit the movie.
- 19:50Speaker 2: But it couldn't have been better than Oprah in Color Purple.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I mean.
- 19:53Speaker 6: I'm with you.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Or than Donald doing Oprah.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Or better. By the way, even Donald's Oprah impression was
- 20:01Speaker 2: better than Angelica Houston. Oh, no.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Let's stop this, guys.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Seriously.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Let's stop this.
- 20:06Speaker 2: You know, my first scene ever in a movie.
- 20:09Speaker 4: Whoa.
- 20:09Speaker 2: It was with Angelica Houston.
- 20:11Speaker 7: Really?
- 20:11Speaker 1: Whoa.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Manhattan murder mystery. Oh, my God. Just a little trivia
- 20:15Speaker 2: for you. All right.
- 20:23Speaker 3: So let's talk about Donald.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Let's talk about the head vein coming out of Raymond.
- 20:28Speaker 8: Sorry.
- 20:28Speaker 2: His name is Raymond. Raymond.
- 20:30Speaker 8: Yes.
- 20:30Speaker 2: And as scripted, I just did a funny voice. But
- 20:34Speaker 2: I am pretty limited in the impressions or funny voices
- 20:38Speaker 2: I can do.
- 20:39Speaker 4: Right.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Is that or Chicken Little?
- 20:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not going to do Chicken Little. My tattoos. Ava,
- 20:43Speaker 2: we learned last episode, got a tattoo of my signature,
- 20:46Speaker 2: Chicken Little.
- 20:47Speaker 7: But in the mirror. In the mirror, I haven't.
- 20:49Speaker 2: And we need to really make sure everyone knows we're kidding,
- 20:52Speaker 2: because if you're not watching this, you might.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Think we're... That's real.
- 20:55Speaker 7: It's real.
- 20:55Speaker 1: When we finished, I wouldn't try to rub it off.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I don't want even people that are listening to this
- 21:00Speaker 2: and not watching it might think we're serious.
- 21:02Speaker 1: What's crazy is that the black and blue marks that
- 21:04Speaker 1: are left behind are just.
- 21:06Speaker 2: So I did my Raymond voice, and it was.
- 21:09Speaker 1: And then.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I had been told, if you do Aaron Neville, don't
- 21:16Speaker 2: sing it because it's expensive. And so for the most,
- 21:20Speaker 2: Donald and I were riffing all this stuff. But as Aaron,
- 21:22Speaker 2: and he was like, why does my vein sound like
- 21:23Speaker 2: Aaron Neville? Because that's the only impression I can do.
- 21:27Speaker 2: And then on the last take, I was like, fuck it,
- 21:30Speaker 2: let's just do it. And we started singing, I don't
- 21:32Speaker 2: know much, but I know I love you.
- 21:36Speaker 1: And that may be all I need.
- 21:40Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 21:41Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 21:41Speaker 7: So how did you keep it?
- 21:43Speaker 2: Well, I think we're going to pay for it. But again,
- 21:44Speaker 2: this isn't locked. So if you don't see that on
- 21:46Speaker 2: the episode, I'm sorry. It was really funny. But I'm
- 21:49Speaker 2: going to fight to try and keep it. But it
- 21:51Speaker 2: was funny.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I thought it was very Turk and JD.
- 21:54Speaker 2: And it's also very me and you.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Because we both love to harmonize as Aaron Neville.
- 22:00Speaker 7: I do.
- 22:00Speaker 2: We do.
- 22:01Speaker 1: We should talk about James Brown.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 22:03Speaker 7: That was crazy.
- 22:06Speaker 1: That was a great day. That was the day I
- 22:08Speaker 1: broke my knee.
- 22:09Speaker 3: When you jumped into the.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Splits, I was gassed. They had a double, but you
- 22:14Speaker 2: did it.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I did do it, and it hurt. And for two weeks,
- 22:17Speaker 1: my knee was the size of freaking a grapefruit.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Really?
- 22:19Speaker 1: Oh, gosh, yeah.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Because there was a lot of talk in prep, like, yo,
- 22:22Speaker 2: I can do everything but the split. And so we
- 22:24Speaker 2: got a double. The double looked like he was 21
- 22:26Speaker 2: years old.
- 22:27Speaker 1: He did. He was so 21 years old that if
- 22:31Speaker 1: I would have become the weight that he was, I
- 22:34Speaker 1: would look like I was sick. That's how young that
- 22:37Speaker 1: brother was.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Right, but I'm saying from behind, he didn't even have
- 22:40Speaker 2: your body type at all.
- 22:41Speaker 1: No, because he was a 21-year-old man. That's why.
- 22:45Speaker 7: And he kept cupping his balls.
- 22:47Speaker 1: And he kept grabbing his ding-a-ling.
- 22:49Speaker 2: While he was dancing?
- 22:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so every time he would do a split, he
- 22:52Speaker 1: would come up and he would grab his dick like, yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And it was like, dude, this is ABC. You can't
- 22:58Speaker 1: be grabbing your dick like that.
- 23:00Speaker 2: And you told him that?
- 23:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I went in front of, I was like, Randall.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Stop this motherfucker from grabbing his dick, yo.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Randall's like, it's perfect.
- 23:08Speaker 5: It was so funny because you were in Village just
- 23:12Speaker 5: like watching.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Stop grabbing your dicks.
- 23:16Speaker 6: I love this.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Stop grabbing your dick.
- 23:19Speaker 1: How did I do it?
- 23:21Speaker 2: Stop grabbing your dick. Well, I don't think we even
- 23:28Speaker 2: cut to him in the cut that's currently in.
- 23:30Speaker 1: No, there's a little bit of a cut.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Oh, getting up, because you couldn't get up from the spot, right?
- 23:34Speaker 2: That's one thing you couldn't do?
- 23:35Speaker 1: So Randall edited it, or the editors. Who edited that one? Lucky?
- 23:42Speaker 2: What is this, Ford? This is Sarah Lucky.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Sarah Lucky edited it to where it's almost like it morphs,
- 23:48Speaker 1: but it doesn't. I had to watch it like three
- 23:50Speaker 1: or four times to check.
- 23:52Speaker 2: It might be a mini-morph.
- 23:53Speaker 1: It's possible, you know, but I had to watch it
- 23:56Speaker 1: three or four times to check. It's literally three different takes.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Me dropping into a split. Him coming up and then
- 24:02Speaker 1: me spinning and holding my hair.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Well, it looks great.
- 24:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 2: It looks really good.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Really awesome.
- 24:05Speaker 2: And you did a great job. And you're such a
- 24:07Speaker 2: good dancer. And everyone loves watching. And first of all,
- 24:09Speaker 2: you're so funny when you have wigs on. Because we're
- 24:12Speaker 2: so used to you bald. But when you play with
- 24:14Speaker 2: your hair and you're so feeling yourself with that hair.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Because I wish I still had hair. That's why.
- 24:20Speaker 2: But that's a lot of hair that you had.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Oh, I would love to have hair like that. Hair
- 24:24Speaker 1: that blows in the wind. I remember when I was younger, right?
- 24:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Terrence Howard and I grew up together, right? And when
- 24:30Speaker 1: we were younger, he would always kind of have his
- 24:32Speaker 1: hair permed every now and then, right? And when that
- 24:34Speaker 1: thing would blow in the wind.
- 24:35Speaker 2: I.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Used to be like, damn.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Damn. Well, the writers are just always like, can we
- 24:44Speaker 3: please just have... I just want Donald dancing in every
- 24:47Speaker 3: single episode.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Like, it's so good.
- 24:48Speaker 4: I know.
- 24:49Speaker 2: We can't have it in every episode. I'm noticing that
- 24:50Speaker 2: it's happening a lot. It's so good.
- 24:52Speaker 1: And it's happening a lot in OG Scrubs, too.
- 24:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:53Speaker 1: If you go and watch season one of OG Scrubs,
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'm doing Michael Jackson or the Moonwalk or something like
- 24:58Speaker 1: that in almost every episode.
- 24:59Speaker 3: It's because give the people what they want.
- 25:00Speaker 4: It is.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Everyone wants Donald dancing.
- 25:02Speaker 2: It's just what you're talking about, Willis.
- 25:03Speaker 1: It is not what you're talking about.
- 25:04Speaker 8: It is.
- 25:04Speaker 4: It is.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I don't think there's any... There's no such thing as
- 25:06Speaker 3: too much of it.
- 25:07Speaker 2: So this sprinkler gag was very elaborate because you cannot...
- 25:12Speaker 2: let off sprinklers on a real set because they will
- 25:15Speaker 2: instantly rot and ruin all of the wood. So what
- 25:19Speaker 2: was the answer? There was a lot of debate in
- 25:21Speaker 2: prep about how are we going to do this? Are
- 25:22Speaker 2: we going to do it as a visual effects gag
- 25:26Speaker 2: in post? How the heck are we going to do this?
- 25:29Speaker 2: And we ended up building a full replica of JD's
- 25:34Speaker 2: office in the parking lot outside of And doing it
- 25:38Speaker 2: for real and really putting in all those sprinkler pipes
- 25:41Speaker 2: and just drenching the set for a one-off.
- 25:44Speaker 1: You know, it wasn't until just now you sang that
- 25:47Speaker 1: that I remembered that that's how that was done. That
- 25:48Speaker 1: was so cool. I honestly thought that that was done
- 25:52Speaker 1: on the stage.
- 25:53Speaker 2: No, it would have ruined everything. And it would have
- 25:55Speaker 2: rotted the wood and it would have been put mold everywhere.
- 25:58Speaker 2: because it was fucking raining hard in there. And the
- 26:01Speaker 2: only way we could really do it was to just
- 26:04Speaker 2: build a separate replica set in the parking lot.
- 26:08Speaker 1: It was crazy that day. That is nuts.
- 26:10Speaker 3: I mean, first of all, I lost my mind when
- 26:13Speaker 3: I heard the whole story of a nepo baby janitor,
- 26:16Speaker 3: of a nepo janitor.
- 26:18Speaker 8: It's so funny.
- 26:18Speaker 2: He's not as gifted as his father. He's not as
- 26:20Speaker 2: gifted as his dad. He's a nepo.
- 26:21Speaker 3: He's a nepo. And the fact that you're calling me
- 26:23Speaker 3: a nepo baby, just from the beginning, that's such a
- 26:25Speaker 3: brilliant concept. And then obviously having Neil back and him
- 26:30Speaker 3: coming in at the end and the mom brings him up.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Nice to see her back on her foot.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Yeah. So what was Kit's character that she played?
- 26:42Speaker 2: Lady.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Lady. So Lady only has a foot now?
- 26:44Speaker 3: No, wait, that was, yes, you're right. That would be Lady.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Well, to kind of speak, this isn't something that may
- 26:49Speaker 2: change by the time the audience gets it. There's debate
- 26:51Speaker 2: and let's have the debate. There are those who think, Um, her,
- 26:56Speaker 2: him saying, it's nice to see your mom back on
- 26:58Speaker 2: her foot is hilarious. Yes. And there are others who
- 27:01Speaker 2: think it's already broad that he's there and he has
- 27:06Speaker 2: a remote clicker that just on his key chain that
- 27:08Speaker 2: turns off the hospital's fire system and that he's brought muffins. And, and, and,
- 27:15Speaker 2: and that is sort of joke. It's maybe a joke
- 27:17Speaker 2: on the joke that all of a sudden the mom
- 27:19Speaker 2: has one foot. I mean, it was written. It's nice
- 27:23Speaker 2: to see her back on her feet. But I personally
- 27:26Speaker 2: laughed out loud when he said foot.
- 27:28Speaker 3: So was that just like a Neil Flynn improv?
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it was Neil Flynn improv.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I loved it when I heard it.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I love that.
- 27:32Speaker 6: It's so funny.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Joelle, where do you fall on foot?
- 27:36Speaker 4: We love lore, and I have not gotten an update,
- 27:38Speaker 4: and I like this update.
- 27:39Speaker 2: By the way, so Lady only has one foot.
- 27:42Speaker 1: They got married and she lost a foot.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Well, wait a second. I have a question about the lore, canon.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Do you remember that he mentioned in an earlier episode
- 27:50Speaker 2: that his wife, the good Lord didn't bless my wife
- 27:54Speaker 2: with all 10 fingers. She only has pointer and thumb pinky.
- 27:59Speaker 1: That was him playing with J.D. That was him lying.
- 28:01Speaker 2: That was a lie.
- 28:02Speaker 1: That was him lying to J.D.
- 28:02Speaker 6: And that was before he got actually married.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:05Speaker 2: But maybe it was a first wife that he got
- 28:07Speaker 2: divorced from?
- 28:07Speaker 3: No.
- 28:08Speaker 2: She's the one who made me the Scrubs short shorts.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Maybe that was just to tell you that. Maybe that
- 28:14Speaker 3: was not true. Maybe the photo's true because he's saying
- 28:16Speaker 3: it to his son.
- 28:16Speaker 2: So in that world, of that reality, the janitor himself
- 28:20Speaker 2: made the Scrubs short shorts.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Yes. Here are the things that's true, though, about the
- 28:26Speaker 1: whole situation. The janitor did make it so that Nepo
- 28:32Speaker 1: janitor has the job. That's very clear because the kid's
- 28:36Speaker 1: a horrible janitor like his dad. Period.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Well, but the janitor might not be a great janitor,
- 28:44Speaker 2: Neil's character, but he was great, brilliant at torturing JD.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 28:49Speaker 2: That's where he's a Nepo.
- 28:50Speaker 1: So it's not his kid. I was thinking Lady had
- 28:54Speaker 1: a kid a long time ago when she was a teenager.
- 28:58Speaker 1: And this is her kid all grown up. And he
- 29:00Speaker 1: took the kid in as his own.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I think the only thing that makes sense is that
- 29:04Speaker 2: he had a previous marriage before Lady.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Because why would he have a kid as old as Nepo?
- 29:10Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 29:12Speaker 6: I feel like he just adopted this guy off the street.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Yeah, by the way, as we get to later, J.D. says,
- 29:19Speaker 2: I think you're bullshitting me. I don't even think it's
- 29:20Speaker 2: a real... kid, and then we cut to the Maury
- 29:23Speaker 2: Povich DNA test.
- 29:24Speaker 1: You are not the father.
- 29:25Speaker 2: And he goes, and this is what we're jumping ahead,
- 29:27Speaker 2: but this is so funny. In the case of 514-month-old Chandler...
- 29:30Speaker 2: So funny. You are not a father. And then Neil goes,
- 29:40Speaker 2: you owe me $ 250, 000. Again, I hope that makes it. Again,
- 29:47Speaker 2: this isn't the final cut.
- 29:48Speaker 3: And tidbit for that, for the audience, this is a
- 29:50Speaker 3: bunch of crew members in the audience.
- 29:53Speaker 2: I saw Kiki.
- 29:54Speaker 7: Yeah, when we watched it.
- 29:55Speaker 2: And Randall's in the audience.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Is Randall in the audience too?
- 29:57Speaker 3: And Jem?
- 29:59Speaker 2: I don't know. I just saw Randall in there. All right.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Let's keep going here with the janitor, a car alarm fob.
- 30:06Speaker 2: We talked about that. Oh, throwing a ball around to
- 30:11Speaker 2: get someone to talk. This is based on Bill and
- 30:14Speaker 2: Randall are inspired by because Randall always said sometimes Bill
- 30:18Speaker 2: Lawrence is overwhelmed and in a cranky mood because, of course,
- 30:22Speaker 2: we know he's got a lot on his plate and
- 30:24Speaker 2: Randall can gauge his if Bill is in the mood
- 30:27Speaker 2: to shoot the shit about something they need to talk about,
- 30:29Speaker 2: whether it's work or private life, by coming in and
- 30:32Speaker 2: tossing a ball with him. That's how he'll sort of
- 30:34Speaker 2: gauge if Bill's in the mood to chat. If Bill
- 30:38Speaker 2: just catches the ball and puts it down, Randall's like,
- 30:40Speaker 2: I'll find him another time. If he starts throwing it back,
- 30:43Speaker 2: he's like, oh, we can engage. We can talk about
- 30:45Speaker 2: the shit we need to talk about. And that's what
- 30:47Speaker 2: I think, I believe, was the impetus for this with J.D.
- 30:51Speaker 2: and Turk. But J.D. 's not really great at throwing
- 30:54Speaker 2: the sports ball around.
- 30:55Speaker 1: No, he's good at throwing the sports ball around. He's
- 30:57Speaker 1: just not good at.
- 30:59Speaker 2: J.D.
- 30:59Speaker 1: 's a little too sensitive for a sports ball throw.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Well, dude, he says... This is how Brady is, and
- 31:04Speaker 2: he says that How does Giselle's boyfriend... Yeah, but.
- 31:07Speaker 1: He's still doing a good job throwing the ball back
- 31:09Speaker 1: and forth.
- 31:10Speaker 2: He knows Giselle. He knows Giselle.
- 31:13Speaker 1: It's just that he just gets a little too sensitive...
- 31:17Speaker 1: For a sports ball throw.
- 31:18Speaker 2: But dude, he says right away, God, my arm, after
- 31:20Speaker 2: like three throws, he's like, my arm already hurts. How
- 31:23Speaker 2: does Giselle's boyfriend do this for a whole match?
- 31:28Speaker 1: I love that he just knows it's a football.
- 31:29Speaker 6: It's the sports ball I love to throw spirals with.
- 31:32Speaker 2: By the way, one thing that got cut that you'll
- 31:34Speaker 2: laugh at, Joel, he pulls out, I unpacked a candle
- 31:37Speaker 2: and I go, ooh, my Gwyneth Paltrow candle. And I
- 31:40Speaker 2: smelled it and I went, mmm, Gwyneth.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Do you get it?
- 31:45Speaker 2: Because she had a vagina candle.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Yes. You didn't know that, Ava?
- 31:50Speaker 5: No, I didn't know that either until she released.
- 31:52Speaker 2: A vagina-scented candle.
- 31:54Speaker 1: It smells like her vagina.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Her vagina, I guess.
- 31:56Speaker 6: Her vagina.
- 31:57Speaker 2: It was her vagina specifically.
- 31:58Speaker 7: What does it smell like?
- 31:59Speaker 4: Her vagina.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Well, you have to get the candle to find out.
- 32:01Speaker 7: Oh my gosh.
- 32:03Speaker 1: According to her, it smells like her vagina.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Whoa. I don't know if the candle, I never really
- 32:09Speaker 2: learned if the candle, if that was just a bit,
- 32:12Speaker 2: a marketing ploy stunt, or if it was really meant
- 32:14Speaker 2: to smell like Gwyneth's We should get one for our set. Yeah, seriously. Joel,
- 32:20Speaker 2: can you see if there's one I can buy online?
- 32:22Speaker 1: You just called Gwyneth Paltrow's vagina a vagine.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Yeah. That's a classy way to say vagina.
- 32:28Speaker 1: No, that's Borat's way of saying vagina. Oh, sorry.
- 32:30Speaker 2: I thought it was a fancy way. It's supposed to
- 32:31Speaker 2: be bajingo.
- 32:32Speaker 7: Bajingo.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Bajingo is a classy way to say it.
- 32:34Speaker 3: That's a classy way to say it. Okay, when you
- 32:36Speaker 3: get the football in your throat.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 32:39Speaker 6: I can listen.
- 32:39Speaker 7: That was so funny.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I can listen. I can listen.
- 32:41Speaker 1: It kind of reminds me of Anthony Michael Hall.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:44Speaker 1: In freaking Weird Science.
- 32:45Speaker 2: In Weird Science when he's in the back of the
- 32:47Speaker 2: car drunk. That's what Donald and I were laughing about
- 32:49Speaker 2: that day. You probably don't get this reference.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Well, my nuts is halfway up my ass, but better
- 32:52Speaker 3: than that, I'm perfect.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Did you ever see a movie called Weird Science?
- 32:57Speaker 7: It's in my notes app.
- 32:58Speaker 2: By the way, you're obsessed with Cat in the Hat.
- 33:03Speaker 2: You'll like Weird Science better.
- 33:05Speaker 5: Because last time we were on the plane, you guys
- 33:08Speaker 5: did Weird Science bits for maybe 20 minutes.
- 33:11Speaker 9: So I wrote it down on my phone.
- 33:15Speaker 7: I was like, watch this movie.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Well, guess what's going to happen today when we fly home? Great.
- 33:18Speaker 2: We're going to drink mimosas and do more Weird Science
- 33:21Speaker 2: bits for you. Anyway, Weird Science was a movie that
- 33:25Speaker 2: Don and I both grew up loving. And when I
- 33:28Speaker 2: was doing this voice, we both were like, oh my gosh,
- 33:30Speaker 2: it sounds like Anthony Michael Hall when he's drunk in
- 33:32Speaker 2: the back of the car. Because he goes, well, my nuts.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Is halfway up my ass.
- 33:36Speaker 1: But better than that, I'm perfect.
- 33:39Speaker 2: And I go, I can live. I can live.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I can live.
- 33:42Speaker 2: By the way, so we had to figure out how
- 33:43Speaker 2: do you nail someone in, especially someone with a giant
- 33:46Speaker 2: Adam's apple with a football. Because it wasn't supposed to
- 33:49Speaker 2: be Nerf. It was supposed to be a mini real football.
- 33:52Speaker 2: And so I was just, we just made it totally
- 33:55Speaker 2: in post. And that's not even the final, what you
- 33:57Speaker 2: guys saw is not even the final visual effect. Yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 2: But that's a completely fake football and it looks amazing.
- 34:01Speaker 2: It looks amazing.
- 34:02Speaker 7: It looks really good. I wrote down in my notes,
- 34:05Speaker 7: can Zach throw a football?
- 34:07Speaker 2: Yes, he can. Yeah.
- 34:08Speaker 1: He can throw a Frisbee better though.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm better with a Frisbee. That's, you know, I was,
- 34:12Speaker 2: I went to Northwestern and I was in like the
- 34:14Speaker 2: stoner Frisbee throwing frat.
- 34:16Speaker 3: I was in a, I was, I played ultimate Frisbee
- 34:19Speaker 3: football in university.
- 34:21Speaker 8: Whoa.
- 34:21Speaker 3: On an intramurals team.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Can you actually, can you throw a forehand? Yeah, totally.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Can do that.
- 34:26Speaker 1: You could do this.
- 34:27Speaker 2: You know, Ultimate Frisbee was invented at my high school.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Just a little bit of trivia. Oh, I didn't know that.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Ultimate Frisbee was invented at Columbia High School. And a
- 34:34Speaker 2: little extra trivia. One of the founding members was Max Weinberg,
- 34:37Speaker 2: the famous drummer from Bruce Springsteen's band.
- 34:40Speaker 1: No way.
- 34:41Speaker 2: A little trivia for you. You can Google it if
- 34:42Speaker 2: you don't believe me. Joelle, I think, is looking it up.
- 34:45Speaker 2: As we speak.
- 34:45Speaker 3: And she's confirming. I see the nod.
- 34:48Speaker 2: I can throw a football, but not like, you wouldn't
- 34:50Speaker 2: probably want me on your team.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Not as the quarterback.
- 34:53Speaker 8: Right.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Yeah. But I could be a center.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Yeah, you could totally be the center.
- 34:58Speaker 2: I could be a running back.
- 34:59Speaker 1: You could be the center.
- 35:00Speaker 2: I could be a wide load.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Oh.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Is that a position?
- 35:03Speaker 9: I don't think it is.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Fat load?
- 35:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Big load?
- 35:07Speaker 1: I get that you're trying to be funny.
- 35:09Speaker 3: Yeah. But don't say, I'm just not sure how.
- 35:11Speaker 9: Just not sure how.
- 35:12Speaker 2: I was just trying to make a load joke. All right.
- 35:14Speaker 9: Classic load joke.
- 35:16Speaker 1: In that case, yes, you could be a heavy load.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Okay. A meaningful load.
- 35:20Speaker 1: A meaningful load.
- 35:22Speaker 7: Right, Sarah?
- 35:24Speaker 3: Classic.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Classic load joke. All right. Okay.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Let's talk about Grant into Amara. Yes. He is crushing.
- 35:42Speaker 6: Juicy.
- 35:42Speaker 1: He's crushing hardcore. He's crushing so hard that he's freaking
- 35:46Speaker 1: kind of goofy around her.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I like this for John Higgins' character. He's a know-it-all.
- 35:52Speaker 2: He's clearly a very skilled doctor. He's very smart. He
- 35:54Speaker 2: went to the best schools. He's like the head resident,
- 35:59Speaker 2: chief resident. But when it comes to ladies, he's very
- 36:04Speaker 2: nervous and inexperienced.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Yes, very.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Yes.
- 36:09Speaker 1: And I enjoyed him trying to muster up the courage
- 36:15Speaker 1: to ask her out, all for it to backfire in
- 36:17Speaker 1: his face.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Yes. That whole arc is so well done by both
- 36:22Speaker 2: of them. I love the scene of them in the
- 36:24Speaker 2: supply closet. I thought that was so sweet.
- 36:26Speaker 8: Yes.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing. It's such a good turn for
- 36:29Speaker 3: him of just being so genuine with her and so
- 36:31Speaker 3: genuinely helpful and helping her and building her confidence.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Not knowing that she has no interest in him. He's
- 36:40Speaker 1: already been friend-zoned. And the person that she's really after
- 36:43Speaker 1: is Blake.
- 36:44Speaker 2: But that's, we've all experienced, I mean, I don't know
- 36:46Speaker 2: about you, but I experienced that.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely.
- 36:48Speaker 2: In high school, I would be big upping these gals
- 36:51Speaker 2: and they would like, oh, thanks for the advice. And
- 36:54Speaker 2: then go, well, you know, with the jock. handsome guy.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that all shifted after Clueless, but before Clueless, yeah,
- 37:01Speaker 1: that was my life.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Pre-Clueless. Pre-Clueless.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 37:06Speaker 2: B.C.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, B.C.
- 37:07Speaker 3: B.C. Donald can relate.
- 37:09Speaker 6: Yeah, B.C.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Donald can totally relate. I remember having these crushes on
- 37:11Speaker 2: these high school girls when I was in high school
- 37:15Speaker 2: and they would, and I would like, it was exactly this.
- 37:17Speaker 2: I'd be like, you're worth so much more than that
- 37:19Speaker 2: and you need to know your worth and you're amazing
- 37:21Speaker 2: and you're so funny and they'd be like, thank you,
- 37:23Speaker 2: thank you. And then they'd go hook up with the
- 37:25Speaker 2: popular dickhead jock guy.
- 37:28Speaker 1: And I'd be like, Ooh, that shit was, that shit
- 37:31Speaker 1: had to hurt too.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Um, Weird Al intern was actually a camera, um, trainee
- 37:45Speaker 2: on our set. And, um, in the spirit of old scrubs,
- 37:49Speaker 2: we used to see like some of the background folks
- 37:51Speaker 2: or people that were around. We'd sort of the Colonel doctor,
- 37:54Speaker 2: as everyone remembers. And Dr. Beard, if I say, uh,
- 37:56Speaker 2: They were background people that we would sort of give
- 37:59Speaker 2: little parts to. In this case, Weird Al, in turn,
- 38:02Speaker 2: was our camera trainee. And I was kind of nervous, like,
- 38:07Speaker 2: would he be down? And Ava, you talked to him
- 38:09Speaker 2: and he was very down, right?
- 38:10Speaker 7: He was so down.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Like, the first day I got there, me and him
- 38:13Speaker 5: were talking because he recognized me from a sketch that
- 38:17Speaker 5: I did.
- 38:18Speaker 6: And he's like, I didn't recognize you without the wig
- 38:19Speaker 6: and the glasses.
- 38:20Speaker 5: And then we really hit it off. And then later
- 38:23Speaker 5: I was talking to Matt, one of the writers, and
- 38:25Speaker 5: he was like, do you think that.
- 38:27Speaker 7: Guy would be down?
- 38:28Speaker 1: I was like, he would so be down.
- 38:30Speaker 3: And then he was talking to me.
- 38:31Speaker 6: He's like, do you think it'll actually happen?
- 38:32Speaker 2: I was like, I think it's going to happen. That's
- 38:34Speaker 2: so great. I was relieved to know that he was
- 38:36Speaker 2: geeked about it.
- 38:37Speaker 7: He was so excited.
- 38:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:38Speaker 2: And it was funny because you can't go from being a,
- 38:41Speaker 2: there's no bigger switch from being a camera trainee to
- 38:45Speaker 2: being one of the talking roles on the show. Although
- 38:48Speaker 2: here he doesn't talk, but I forget if he's, I
- 38:50Speaker 2: forget if he's talking.
- 38:51Speaker 1: He came back.
- 38:53Speaker 2: I know, but I'm not sure that that's going to
- 38:54Speaker 2: make it, but we'll see. But anyway, he was so
- 38:56Speaker 2: fun and he was adorable. He was perfect at it.
- 38:59Speaker 1: It was just funny to watch the dude have to
- 39:01Speaker 1: hang out on set all day as a camera guy.
- 39:05Speaker 2: And then... Camera trainee.
- 39:06Speaker 1: As a camera trainee. And then when he got the
- 39:08Speaker 1: role as Weird Al intern... He was like, I'm going
- 39:11Speaker 1: back to my trailer, guys.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Yeah, there was a funny moment. There was a funny
- 39:14Speaker 2: moment where someone overheard him like, I'm going to go
- 39:16Speaker 2: relax in my trailer. And he wasn't doing a bit.
- 39:19Speaker 2: He was like, for real. That's so funny.
- 39:22Speaker 6: Amazing.
- 39:23Speaker 9: So good.
- 39:24Speaker 2: I used to do that. by when i was a
- 39:25Speaker 2: kid i would you know when i was um you
- 39:27Speaker 2: know in my early 20s i would pa you know
- 39:30Speaker 2: i was paying in new york and also auditioning and
- 39:32Speaker 2: there were there were weeks where i was a pa
- 39:35Speaker 2: on like a music video and there were weeks where
- 39:37Speaker 2: then i'd you know have a speaking part on a
- 39:39Speaker 2: show and sometimes the crew would overlap and they'd all
- 39:42Speaker 2: be like doing double takes like why is the PA
- 39:45Speaker 2: one of the leads in this show? And for me,
- 39:49Speaker 2: it was such a mindfuck because when I went back,
- 39:51Speaker 2: I'd be like, okay, I didn't make much money, but
- 39:53Speaker 2: I had a part and now I'm back to PAing.
- 39:55Speaker 2: And it was such a, it was very, very humbling. And,
- 39:59Speaker 2: but it was good. It was good training for me,
- 40:01Speaker 2: I think. Let's talk about Siobhan Sims. And Sarah, you
- 40:06Speaker 2: say that you didn't take an everything shower. What does
- 40:08Speaker 2: that mean?
- 40:09Speaker 3: Oh, that means that you didn't shower twice.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Everything.
- 40:13Speaker 3: It's like if you're in a rush, you take a 360.
- 40:15Speaker 2: What is that? Explain that to me because every time
- 40:17Speaker 2: I shower, I do everything.
- 40:18Speaker 3: So I think for Elliot, I mean, for me personally.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Well, in life. Is this a woman thing? I don't know.
- 40:23Speaker 3: For me personally, a 360 is when I'm going to
- 40:25Speaker 3: put my hair up, keep it dry, and just quickly
- 40:27Speaker 3: 360 my body. But that would be considered, I think,
- 40:29Speaker 3: an everything shower. But I think for Elliot.
- 40:34Speaker 2: I don't do this.
- 40:35Speaker 3: But I think for Elliot, the joke is that she
- 40:36Speaker 3: didn't properly shower her whole self.
- 40:39Speaker 1: She just spun around, but really quick.
- 40:41Speaker 3: What do you think, Joelle?
- 40:42Speaker 2: Does that sound like.
- 40:43Speaker 4: And everything shower is... You might use an exfoliant and
- 40:47Speaker 4: a body butter and a body wash. And then you
- 40:50Speaker 4: would do a hair mask, but also the shampoo and
- 40:53Speaker 4: the deep condition and then the after products.
- 40:56Speaker 6: It would require like more than eight products.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Multiple styles.
- 41:00Speaker 3: And there's probably some post-shower products as well.
- 41:02Speaker 2: For you and everything shower involves a candle being lit.
- 41:04Speaker 7: There's a candle lit. And everything showers a bath. Drain it, shower.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Really?
- 41:09Speaker 3: Or shower, have the bath with the hair conditioner in
- 41:12Speaker 3: for 20 minutes.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Yes. Oh, yeah, that's good.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Women can make like a whole evening of this washing process.
- 41:18Speaker 7: Yes, and absolutely a shower beverage.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Oh, what's that?
- 41:23Speaker 7: Have you guys tried this?
- 41:25Speaker 2: No.
- 41:25Speaker 1: What's your shower beverage?
- 41:26Speaker 3: I always do a bath beverage, but I've never done
- 41:27Speaker 3: a shower beverage.
- 41:28Speaker 7: Do a shower beverage. A shower beer? Great.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Oh.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 41:33Speaker 7: Think about it. You're getting ready for your night. Have
- 41:35Speaker 7: a little drink in the shower.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Oh, and this is when you're going to go out.
- 41:38Speaker 7: Yeah, you're going out. You're getting ready.
- 41:40Speaker 2: That's so hashtag 25 because I'm not taking a hot
- 41:43Speaker 2: ass shower in a bath.
- 41:44Speaker 1: And doing a shower.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I'm going to bed.
- 41:49Speaker 3: If I said a shower beverage, I'm like, I've done
- 41:52Speaker 3: a bath beverage. My bath beverage is obviously hot tea.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Yeah. I've done tea in the shower. That's nice. Yeah, yeah.
- 41:58Speaker 1: If it's a hot shower, I don't know that I
- 42:00Speaker 1: want to drink anything other than water.
- 42:03Speaker 2: No, it feels nice, by the way. I've done this
- 42:04Speaker 2: in the bath and the shower. You have a chamomile
- 42:06Speaker 2: relaxing tea, and the water's falling on you, and you
- 42:09Speaker 2: just take sips, and you've got hot in and out.
- 42:11Speaker 2: It's really nice.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 42:12Speaker 3: And the bath, and you've got the bath salts.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Bath salts. Do you ever take baths? Of course.
- 42:17Speaker 1: I love a bath.
- 42:17Speaker 3: I take a bath every night.
- 42:19Speaker 1: You take a bath every night?
- 42:20Speaker 3: Every night.
- 42:21Speaker 8: What?
- 42:21Speaker 3: Every night when I get home.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Every night you take a bath?
- 42:24Speaker 3: Every night I take a bath.
- 42:24Speaker 1: On the telephone?
- 42:26Speaker 2: On the telephone.
- 42:26Speaker 6: What does a boy talk about on the telephone, man?
- 42:28Speaker 2: Explain it to him.
- 42:29Speaker 7: Well, we know there's a telephone involved.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Weird science, guys. Weird science, guys. Every damn night on
- 42:34Speaker 2: the telephone?
- 42:35Speaker 3: Every night I take a bath. And obviously living in Canada,
- 42:39Speaker 3: if I get home from a hike in the wintertime
- 42:40Speaker 3: where you go out in the snow, the pouring rain,
- 42:42Speaker 3: it's cold, you come back, you're freezing. Then you take
- 42:44Speaker 3: a midday bath. So there's definitely days where I'm taking
- 42:46Speaker 3: a pair of baths.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I don't mind a midday bath. I'm going to be
- 42:49Speaker 1: honest with you. You know.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I get tired with a bath. I'm not taking any
- 42:52Speaker 2: midday baths.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Oh, I love a midday bath. Midday bath and a blunt.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Oh, I see. It all comes back to. Ava, you
- 43:01Speaker 2: might not know this, but this is one of our
- 43:04Speaker 2: show's theme songs.
- 43:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:12Speaker 2: That's a song that was written for Donald.
- 43:13Speaker 7: Really good.
- 43:14Speaker 2: This is Donald's wife saying that she loves me.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Zach, I love you. Zach, I love you. Zach.
- 43:20Speaker 2: This is my ex-girlfriend's mom.
- 43:24Speaker 4: Oh.
- 43:25Speaker 2: When the podcast began, Donald and I accidentally talked about
- 43:29Speaker 2: our penises a lot.
- 43:30Speaker 1: We didn't accidentally. We consistently do.
- 43:32Speaker 2: And my ex-girlfriend's mom said, oh, for fuck's sake. She
- 43:36Speaker 2: loved the podcast, but she'd go, stop talking about your willies.
- 43:40Speaker 2: For fuck's sake, just stop talking about your willies.
- 43:44Speaker 3: For fuck's sake, just stop talking about your willies.
- 43:46Speaker 9: That's really good.
- 43:49Speaker 2: And she said it so often. I love it. But
- 43:51Speaker 2: the podcast is absolutely brilliant. Stop talking about your willies.
- 43:55Speaker 2: And so I got her to lay that down for us.
- 43:57Speaker 3: That's really funny.
- 43:59Speaker 2: That's really good. Shout out to Debs. All right. Let's
- 44:02Speaker 2: talk about a poop room for dating. This is a
- 44:04Speaker 2: conundrum I've encountered. You take a- You've.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Met someone that this has happened before with.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Well, it's happened to me. I'm newly dating someone. Things
- 44:13Speaker 2: are going great. You go away for a long weekend.
- 44:15Speaker 2: How are you going to handle the poops?
- 44:18Speaker 1: Okay, so you got a poop room.
- 44:21Speaker 2: I'm saying I know a lot of my friends go
- 44:24Speaker 2: to move in the situation is they go down to
- 44:26Speaker 2: the hotel lobby and poop.
- 44:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you go to the lobby. Yeah.
- 44:29Speaker 1: And poo in the lobby bathroom?
- 44:31Speaker 2: Yes, to avoid stinking up the room. You can't have
- 44:33Speaker 2: that woman knowing that you could make a poop.
- 44:36Speaker 7: How do you, like, be like, oh, I'm going to
- 44:40Speaker 7: the lobby.
- 44:40Speaker 2: I'm going to go look in the gift shop alone.
- 44:41Speaker 7: Don't come with me.
- 44:43Speaker 3: I'm going to go get us coffees and bring them
- 44:44Speaker 3: back home.
- 44:44Speaker 2: I'm going to go get us— oh, Sarah is experienced. I'm
- 44:46Speaker 2: going to go get us coffees. I've never done that. Really?
- 44:47Speaker 3: Right.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Why did you just pull that out so quick? I'm
- 44:49Speaker 2: going to go get us coffees. I just thought of it.
- 44:51Speaker 2: I just thought of it right now.
- 44:51Speaker 3: I feel like a coffee, whatever.
- 44:53Speaker 1: We could order room service, babe. No, no, no.
- 44:55Speaker 7: I want to go to the— No, no, no.
- 44:57Speaker 2: I want to go to the gift shop. I, um—
- 44:59Speaker 2: It's a conundrum. It really is a conundrum, this poop
- 45:02Speaker 2: room thing. I felt this in my chest.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Felt this in your chest. Yeah, talk it to my chest.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Speak it to your chest.
- 45:07Speaker 1: I've never been in a relationship.
- 45:08Speaker 2: But you've been married for a zillion years.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Even when I was single, this wasn't a thing.
- 45:12Speaker 2: So if you took a lady that you were newly
- 45:14Speaker 2: dating away, what did you do about your poops?
- 45:16Speaker 1: I'm going to smell her poop.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 45:18Speaker 3: See, Donald, that is an authentic relationship. I've read articles
- 45:22Speaker 3: saying that makes an authentic relationship.
- 45:24Speaker 1: It don't always smell good. And sometimes, you know, right
- 45:27Speaker 1: then and then after, okay, this isn't somebody I necessarily
- 45:30Speaker 1: want to be in a relationship.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Because their poop smells? What poop doesn't smell?
- 45:34Speaker 1: Sometimes it's unbearable.
- 45:35Speaker 2: So you're saying you've broken up with people because their
- 45:38Speaker 2: poop smelled extra bad?
- 45:39Speaker 1: No, but that was part of it. Like, you know.
- 45:42Speaker 1: And your poop stunk. You know what I mean?
- 45:44Speaker 7: And on top of it, your poop stunk.
- 45:45Speaker 2: You're a horrible listener. And your poop smelled.
- 45:48Speaker 9: And your poop stunk.
- 45:52Speaker 2: You don't make time for me.
- 45:53Speaker 1: You don't make time for me.
- 45:54Speaker 2: And when we were in Cabo, your poop smelled extra bad.
- 45:57Speaker 7: That's crazy.
- 46:00Speaker 2: I've also sometimes been lucky enough to have those rooms
- 46:02Speaker 2: that have a little mini half bath in the foyer.
- 46:05Speaker 2: You know, around those rooms? Oh, yeah. When you're walking,
- 46:07Speaker 2: there's a little... Sorry, Ava. One day, you'll get there.
- 46:10Speaker 2: A foyer? Well, when you... If you have a... What's
- 46:14Speaker 2: a foyer? I didn't mean to sound bougie, but there
- 46:17Speaker 2: are times you have like a small suite, and when
- 46:19Speaker 2: you walk in... There's like a starter bathroom, a little
- 46:21Speaker 2: half bath.
- 46:22Speaker 9: Oh, a little half bath.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Zach sees that in the bathroom. And he exhales and
- 46:25Speaker 3: fist pumps and goes, a.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Poop room, a poop room. In this scenario, I would
- 46:29Speaker 2: have said, oh, it's a new relationship. I'll make sure
- 46:31Speaker 2: they have a little half bath poop room.
- 46:33Speaker 4: Oh.
- 46:33Speaker 2: But Elliot's advice is get a cheaper hotel room and
- 46:37Speaker 2: then get two.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Yeah, because just the imagination of someone going in to
- 46:44Speaker 1: take a poo, like that could turn people off. I'm
- 46:47Speaker 1: going to be honest with you. Like if we was
- 46:49Speaker 1: hanging out, Right. And I was like, yo, I don't
- 46:52Speaker 1: want you to smell my poo.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Right.
- 46:55Speaker 1: But I'm going to go take a poo.
- 46:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 46:57Speaker 2: That's why you got to go to the lobby.
- 46:58Speaker 1: But you would be like, well, the lobby works perfectly
- 47:01Speaker 1: because you're like, yo, I'm going to go get coffee.
- 47:03Speaker 1: But if I'm like, I'm going to just go to
- 47:04Speaker 1: the other bathroom at the front door, you might be like,
- 47:07Speaker 1: what would you got to do in there?
- 47:08Speaker 2: Well, then it's kind of known what you're doing, but
- 47:10Speaker 2: it's not all up in the bedroom and stuff. Women,
- 47:13Speaker 2: I feel like, are ninjas about this.
- 47:15Speaker 7: One time.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Okay. I. Threw it. No, go ahead.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Don't interrupt her story.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Oh, my goodness.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Ava, go ahead.
- 47:23Speaker 7: I pooped through it. It was a boomerang.
- 47:24Speaker 9: It came back to my face.
- 47:27Speaker 3: For audience listening, that is one of Ava's favorite bits.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Boomerang poop. I can't do this.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Ava's main Scrubs cold open pitch is boomerang poop.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Ava, stop saying boomerang poop. What is your actual anecdote?
- 47:41Speaker 7: My story. One time this guy, like he had told
- 47:46Speaker 7: me he liked.
- 47:47Speaker 5: Me, like, and then I didn't know. And then I
- 47:51Speaker 5: was like, I like him back. So I was going
- 47:53Speaker 5: to go tell him it's going to be a whole
- 47:54Speaker 5: romantic moment.
- 47:56Speaker 7: And I had to pee. I peed in his bathroom.
- 47:57Speaker 7: My pee smelled really bad.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Did you have a lot of coffee that day?
- 48:01Speaker 2: It was coffee.
- 48:02Speaker 7: It was a lot of coffee. And then he had
- 48:04Speaker 7: to go pee. And we were like friends.
- 48:07Speaker 3: He's like, damn, your pee stinks.
- 48:10Speaker 2: That's not cute.
- 48:11Speaker 7: And don't cut that.
- 48:12Speaker 1: And don't cut that, Joelle.
- 48:14Speaker 2: All right, we got to move on. We're not going
- 48:16Speaker 2: fast enough.
- 48:16Speaker 3: But in that same scene, one of my favorite moments.
- 48:20Speaker 3: So I love that, like, Siobhan, you know, you've gone
- 48:22Speaker 3: out of your way for me for Siobhan, but I
- 48:24Speaker 3: still don't have an idea. And you're trying to be like,
- 48:26Speaker 3: this is a big deal that I've done this with Siobhan.
- 48:28Speaker 3: And you're like, most people are going to Mars and
- 48:31Speaker 3: she's going to Venus.
- 48:32Speaker 6: Venus.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Venus.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Venus. Venus, Elliot. Venus.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Sarah, I did takes where I did this pretty broad.
- 48:39Speaker 2: I don't know if they're going to make the final cut,
- 48:41Speaker 2: but I was going, Venus, Elliot. Venus. And now every
- 48:45Speaker 2: day Sarah comes.
- 48:46Speaker 9: Up to me and goes, Venus.
- 48:49Speaker 2: And when I start riffing like weird shit and just
- 48:52Speaker 2: making Sarah laugh that probably won't get used, she always goes.
- 48:55Speaker 3: It got bigger and bigger each time to the point
- 48:59Speaker 3: where I was like.
- 48:59Speaker 2: And then I go, I go, I go, I go,
- 49:01Speaker 2: I go, Elliot, Elliot, I go, Elliot, you know how
- 49:04Speaker 2: long it's going to take her to get there?
- 49:06Speaker 3: A thousand years.
- 49:09Speaker 4: Elliot.
- 49:09Speaker 2: And then I go, Elliot, you know how long it's
- 49:11Speaker 2: going to take her to get there?
- 49:12Speaker 1: No one knows.
- 49:14Speaker 6: She doesn't even know.
- 49:16Speaker 2: But then we.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Been going on for a while.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but then in any other scene we do. No,
- 49:22Speaker 2: this is all in the Siobhan riffing scene.
- 49:24Speaker 1: I know, but that was three weeks ago, four weeks
- 49:27Speaker 1: ago now, five weeks ago?
- 49:28Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Yeah, but now any line that Zach riffs, like we
- 49:30Speaker 3: had some yesterday, that he riffs in that same tone.
- 49:34Speaker 3: It turns into Venus.
- 49:37Speaker 2: All right, so he calls her a Persian baddie with
- 49:40Speaker 2: the booty.
- 49:40Speaker 7: I love that.
- 49:42Speaker 2: And the janitor doesn't understand cats in the cradle.
- 49:46Speaker 9: It's a song about cats.
- 49:47Speaker 2: It's a song about cats.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Can we talk about how the janitor and Nurse Dubois
- 49:53Speaker 1: know each other?
- 49:53Speaker 2: Yeah, from a pontoon boat.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Yes.
- 49:56Speaker 2: This reminds me of Laverne's above ground pool parties.
- 49:58Speaker 1: J.D. 's like, how the hell did you get invited
- 50:02Speaker 1: on the janitor's? pontoon boat in Dubois. I was like, well,
- 50:07Speaker 1: you know, I was out.
- 50:08Speaker 2: I'm not sure if that's going to make it.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Oh, but that's really funny. Oh, man.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Sorry, that's another thing. There was a whole scene that, Joelle,
- 50:15Speaker 2: I'm not sure if this was in the cut, you
- 50:17Speaker 2: saw it, and I'm not sure, audience, I'm sorry if
- 50:18Speaker 2: this is going to make 21 minutes and 30 seconds,
- 50:21Speaker 2: but right before I go confront Grant and say, hey,
- 50:25Speaker 2: one of your interns fucked up, and post the janitor
- 50:29Speaker 2: revealing he's on the pontoon boat, me and Michael were
- 50:31Speaker 2: just riffing this whole thing. I'm like, I just don't understand, like,
- 50:33Speaker 2: how did you end up on his pontoon boat? And
- 50:36Speaker 2: he's like, well, I was out and he was out.
- 50:37Speaker 2: We kind of like ran into each other.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Oh, you know how it is.
- 50:39Speaker 2: You know how it is.
- 50:40Speaker 1: And like, it was amazing.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Like, why weren't you there? And like, I'm like, I just,
- 50:43Speaker 2: we were just like riffing this whole scene. And then
- 50:46Speaker 2: he goes, will you just go handle your business? And it's,
- 50:48Speaker 2: I don't know if any of that will make it, but.
- 50:50Speaker 1: It was really funny.
- 50:50Speaker 7: It's so funny though.
- 50:52Speaker 2: I love Michael.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:54Speaker 2: All right. So the shower shorts are back. JD's shower shorts.
- 50:58Speaker 2: The janitor has kept them. He has the fly smell
- 51:02Speaker 2: them to try and torture JD. He's been training this fly.
- 51:06Speaker 3: Yes.
- 51:07Speaker 2: For three weeks, we later learn.
- 51:09Speaker 4: Yes.
- 51:11Speaker 1: And the fly is doing its job. It's following JD.
- 51:14Speaker 2: It's not successfully annoying him in any way.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Until the tag. Until the tag.
- 51:19Speaker 2: And Elliot dresses up in a very sort of, I guess, rich,
- 51:22Speaker 2: elitist woman way to try and impress Siobhan.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Amazing. That was my favorite part. She looked like Lex
- 51:28Speaker 1: Luthor's Freaking henchwoman. Yes. That's crazy.
- 51:32Speaker 3: I just love that she thinks, like, I'm going to
- 51:34Speaker 3: go home and put on a power suit, and that's
- 51:35Speaker 3: going to, yeah, that's going to seal this deal. And
- 51:38Speaker 3: a long ponytail.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and a ponytail. I was going to say. I
- 51:41Speaker 1: ain't going to put a shirt on either.
- 51:43Speaker 2: No shirt. By the way, Elliot still has no effing
- 51:46Speaker 2: idea what her idea is. She just knows that she's
- 51:49Speaker 2: going to dress the part.
- 51:51Speaker 7: Really good.
- 51:52Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 51:52Speaker 2: She wants to be a power suit, long pony.
- 51:56Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 51:56Speaker 3: She knows she's going to close the deal if she
- 51:58Speaker 3: has the power suit.
- 51:59Speaker 2: J.D. tries to cheer up Turk. Sorry, J.D. 's trying
- 52:03Speaker 2: to get Turk to talk about his depression in the
- 52:05Speaker 2: whole episode, but Turk is avoiding it and gets him
- 52:08Speaker 2: to bring back an old prank against Hooch, the League
- 52:11Speaker 2: of the Order of the Stethoscopes. And we learn that
- 52:14Speaker 2: they still have a joint AOL account. Yes.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Look, I can't even remember the last time. Do you
- 52:22Speaker 1: remember your AOL account?
- 52:24Speaker 2: I had one. I know you did.
- 52:26Speaker 1: We all, everybody had one. Well, maybe not you because
- 52:29Speaker 1: you weren't.
- 52:29Speaker 2: And not Ava. I had a, I remember my laptop
- 52:32Speaker 2: and Kate, I had, my desktop picture was Kate Moss.
- 52:36Speaker 3: Oh.
- 52:37Speaker 2: I met Kate Moss once and I told her that.
- 52:40Speaker 2: How'd that go?
- 52:42Speaker 1: Your desktop. How'd that go?
- 52:44Speaker 2: Well, I had such a crush on Kate Moss for
- 52:47Speaker 2: so many years. And, and when I first got my
- 52:50Speaker 2: first laptop, I made a picture of her, the, the,
- 52:53Speaker 2: the desktop. I was like, So the desktop was her picture,
- 52:56Speaker 2: and I told her that. And what'd she say? I
- 52:58Speaker 2: think she thought that was cute.
- 53:00Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 53:00Speaker 2: I don't really have an end to the story.
- 53:01Speaker 7: Okay. That's really good.
- 53:03Speaker 2: But anyway, those are the days of AOL.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember AOL.
- 53:06Speaker 2: I still remember my name. Do you know anything about
- 53:10Speaker 2: dial-up internet, Ava?
- 53:12Speaker 8: No.
- 53:13Speaker 2: So you used to have to call up the internet.
- 53:17Speaker 7: What do you mean?
- 53:17Speaker 3: It's a dial. It looks like dialing a telephone.
- 53:19Speaker 2: You had to do a dial.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Telephone line.
- 53:21Speaker 2: You had a thing called a modem, right?
- 53:23Speaker 1: You still got a modem.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Well, you would hit dial up, and then you couldn't
- 53:26Speaker 2: use your landline phone at the same time. It would
- 53:29Speaker 2: make a noise, and it would connect to the web.
- 53:31Speaker 7: Whoa.
- 53:33Speaker 2: You never even seen this in a movie?
- 53:34Speaker 7: When was that?
- 53:35Speaker 1: Like right before you were born.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Yeah, right before you were born.
- 53:38Speaker 7: That's crazy.
- 53:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Your parents can tell you all about it.
- 53:42Speaker 7: That's really awesome.
- 53:45Speaker 2: All right. So, okay. Higgins doing the dim sum, then some,
- 53:49Speaker 2: and then yum yum.
- 53:50Speaker 1: And then some yum yum.
- 53:52Speaker 3: I feel like it's Christmas.
- 53:54Speaker 2: That's another thing we have to pay for. That is
- 53:57Speaker 2: not public domain, but I laughed so hard. We got
- 53:59Speaker 2: to keep it in. I know we got to pay
- 54:01Speaker 2: for it. It's so good.
- 54:01Speaker 3: It's so good.
- 54:04Speaker 2: She makes my heart feel like Christmas. It's so good.
- 54:06Speaker 2: And then his runaway. The runaway.
- 54:10Speaker 1: He keeps the run. It calls back.
- 54:13Speaker 2: We did this very elaborate Star Wars fantasy, which is
- 54:17Speaker 2: very funny. And we did it for Donald because he
- 54:20Speaker 2: loves Star Wars. And this was hilarious on the page.
- 54:24Speaker 2: And you guys have seen it. And it's incredible.
- 54:26Speaker 3: It kills.
- 54:27Speaker 2: I know. What's that, Joelle?
- 54:28Speaker 1: It kills.
- 54:29Speaker 3: It kills.
- 54:29Speaker 7: It was so great.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Just know that we did a very clever fantasy of
- 54:33Speaker 2: Donald as Vader force choking her and throwing her. And
- 54:41Speaker 2: kudos to Layla, who did an amazing job. She flew
- 54:44Speaker 2: across the room and nailed the wall.
- 54:46Speaker 1: And fell to the floor and everything.
- 54:47Speaker 2: She did such a wonderful job. All right, so next scene.
- 54:51Speaker 2: What do you guys have? Do you guys have anything
- 54:52Speaker 2: you want to talk about? We're running out of time.
- 54:56Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 54:57Speaker 4: Ava has two of my favorite moments.
- 55:01Speaker 6: I have been to prison. It was an accident.
- 55:05Speaker 1: It was a strip mall. How does that happen? How
- 55:09Speaker 1: does that happen?
- 55:10Speaker 2: How did you end up at the Island Mall and
- 55:11Speaker 2: thinking it was a prison thinking it was Island Mall?
- 55:14Speaker 2: That's funny.
- 55:15Speaker 5: I know.
- 55:15Speaker 7: I like that.
- 55:16Speaker 5: There were like some alts we did too where I
- 55:18Speaker 5: forget what I, is something like, like I thought it
- 55:21Speaker 5: was a Brandy Melville or something. Cause Brandy Melville, it's
- 55:24Speaker 5: like scary in there.
- 55:25Speaker 2: Brandy Melville? By the way, we improv that thing with that.
- 55:28Speaker 1: What is Brandy Melville?
- 55:29Speaker 2: It's a clothing store.
- 55:30Speaker 7: It's a scary place.
- 55:31Speaker 2: It's a clothing store. Um, we improv that we couldn't
- 55:34Speaker 2: think of the outs of the scenes so on the
- 55:36Speaker 2: day that woman who's a very tall strong woman I
- 55:40Speaker 2: think she actually had done some pro not pro but
- 55:42Speaker 2: some form of wrestling right yes yes yes and we
- 55:45Speaker 2: did Ava don't get mad I asked her to carry
- 55:48Speaker 2: me like a baby.
- 55:49Speaker 1: That shit was hilarious that shit was so funny that
- 55:52Speaker 1: was so funny Yes, it was my.
- 55:55Speaker 4: Favorite just because Ava, the way you're like kicking your
- 55:57Speaker 4: feet and just so delighted.
- 55:58Speaker 7: To be out. I was so giddy.
- 55:59Speaker 3: I was so, so excited.
- 56:00Speaker 2: By the way, you actually truly loved it.
- 56:02Speaker 7: I did love it. Well, it was funny because I
- 56:04Speaker 7: like asked her to Like, I was like, what if
- 56:06Speaker 7: you carried me?
- 56:08Speaker 2: Sorry, I didn't know it was your idea. Go ahead.
- 56:11Speaker 7: I was like, what if you carried me?
- 56:13Speaker 5: And then, but I knew I was like, me saying
- 56:15Speaker 5: that isn't going to really, it's going to sound insane.
- 56:19Speaker 7: And then she was like, let's show them. She picks
- 56:21Speaker 7: me up and then brought me into Village.
- 56:23Speaker 2: And we all started belly laughing. But it was very late.
- 56:26Speaker 2: And I was like, how are we going to get
- 56:28Speaker 2: to that? Like, it's funny, but how do we even
- 56:30Speaker 2: end up in there? And then we somehow all brainstormed
- 56:33Speaker 2: and got to like, don't get mad. I asked her
- 56:35Speaker 2: to carry me like a baby.
- 56:36Speaker 9: Carry me like a baby.
- 56:38Speaker 1: Hilarious.
- 56:39Speaker 7: Just pretty much exactly what happened in real life. I
- 56:41Speaker 7: was like, can you carry me?
- 56:42Speaker 2: But by the way, it was proof of concept. You guys,
- 56:44Speaker 2: you were both smart. You were like, if we pitch this,
- 56:46Speaker 2: no one's ever going to like it. Let's just walk
- 56:48Speaker 2: in with you carrying me.
- 56:49Speaker 3: And the visual of that is incredible.
- 56:50Speaker 2: It was so funny because you're so tiny next to her.
- 56:53Speaker 2: It's so crazy. What is she like?
- 56:54Speaker 1: And you're tall, too.
- 56:55Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I'm 5'9.
- 56:56Speaker 1: She's 6'7?
- 56:56Speaker 4: 6'7. 6'7.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 56:57Speaker 4: 6'7.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Um, yeah, that was so great. And I showed out
- 57:04Speaker 3: to Punky.
- 57:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Punky was great. Let's shout out to Punky.
- 57:08Speaker 3: She did such a good job.
- 57:09Speaker 1: That's a very hard role to do.
- 57:11Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 57:12Speaker 1: It's very afterschool, especially, you know what I mean? When
- 57:15Speaker 1: you bring in, uh, subjects like that, you know, the,
- 57:19Speaker 1: the prison thing, it's very, to me, it feels a little, uh,
- 57:24Speaker 1: different strokes. You know, everything happens to Arnold and Willis.
- 57:28Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Uh, And this one, I
- 57:32Speaker 1: was so nervous about that at first that, okay, here
- 57:35Speaker 1: we go. We're going to do a prison episode. We're
- 57:37Speaker 1: going to do a, you know, a convict episode. And
- 57:40Speaker 1: it turned out to be great.
- 57:42Speaker 2: Well, I think it's a testament to the acting on
- 57:44Speaker 2: all three of them.
- 57:44Speaker 1: That's what I'm trying to say. You know what I mean?
- 57:46Speaker 1: And it really pushes forward Elliot's storyline, too, on how she,
- 57:50Speaker 1: you know, the whole episode we're talking about how She
- 57:53Speaker 1: has no clue what she wants to do. And it
- 57:55Speaker 1: just takes this push from someone very unexpected to say, yo,
- 58:01Speaker 1: I want to help women. That's what I want to do.
- 58:04Speaker 1: That's exactly what I want to do. And the only
- 58:08Speaker 1: way we would have gotten there was the way we
- 58:11Speaker 1: got there, which is through a very unusual story that worked.
- 58:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 58:18Speaker 3: And Punky, like, crushed every take. She gave so many
- 58:21Speaker 3: different performances. I thought she was fantastic. And the other
- 58:24Speaker 3: part of the episode that I loved was, you know,
- 58:27Speaker 3: the fact that we brought back around Turk's storyline from
- 58:31Speaker 3: season one. And it was so well done. And you
- 58:33Speaker 3: guys are both so good in that last scene. And
- 58:36Speaker 3: when you come up and say, I won't let this
- 58:37Speaker 3: affect my work, and you say the problem is it
- 58:40Speaker 3: already is, like, that was so well acted. And I
- 58:43Speaker 3: thought just really kind of sets up whatever's coming for Turk.
- 58:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Thank you. And you did a great job with that, Donald.
- 58:52Speaker 2: And I like that we're keeping that storyline alive because
- 58:55Speaker 2: he didn't want it to be, you know, you can
- 58:57Speaker 2: be depressed and then all of a sudden something joyous
- 58:59Speaker 2: happens in your life and it does give you a
- 59:02Speaker 2: serotonin hit and you're kind of distracted and then life
- 59:05Speaker 2: comes back to life. And all of a sudden those
- 59:08Speaker 2: feelings are still there. And I think we wanted to
- 59:10Speaker 2: do that with the character Turk where we're not just
- 59:11Speaker 2: saying like, oh, all his problems are gone now because
- 59:13Speaker 2: JD's back because that's bullshit. That's bullshit. And Turk in
- 59:17Speaker 2: this episode is finally realizing that he is taking on
- 59:21Speaker 2: work to distract himself from his issues and that he's
- 59:24Speaker 2: going to actually proactively find a therapist.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Hooch invites Amara to join the Secret Society. I thought
- 59:32Speaker 2: that was funny.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I mean, because she's just as crazy as
- 59:35Speaker 1: he is. We learn that Amara has a little bit,
- 59:38Speaker 1: I mean, we sprinkled it in in the first season
- 59:42Speaker 1: and everything. She's homeschooled. And so because of that, her
- 59:44Speaker 1: upbringing is a little bit different than everyone else's. And
- 59:47Speaker 1: so she might have missed some social cues and stuff
- 59:49Speaker 1: like that. But as time goes forward, we're starting to
- 59:53Speaker 1: learn she misses quite a few social cues. And she
- 59:57Speaker 1: might have a little bit of crazy in her too,
- 59:59Speaker 1: like Hooch.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Not as much as Hooch.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Well, but, you know, in the next episode, not to
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: spoil anything, but in the next episode, I think Amanda
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: has a line where she's like, yo, not to call
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: any woman crazy, but yo, you sound crazy.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: That's great. I can't wait to talk about Five because
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: those two are really good in Five together. And then finally,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: the janitor puts his son in timeout, which I thought
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: was funny, and makes him stand against the wall.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: That was wild.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: Joelle, you mentioned you had a fan email. I do.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: We'd love to hear it. We'd love to end on
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: a fan email.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: Guys, first of all, I just love that your email
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: never went silent. The whole time you were off in hiatus,
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: constant emails.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Well, that's good.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Thank you, fans. Thank you. Keep emailing Joelle. She reads
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: them all.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: This one is from Kyle out in Evansville, Indiana.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Hey, Kyle.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: He says, I am writing to share my excitement about
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: the Scrubs revival, but also to express the one thing
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: that is truly missing from the daily life at Sacred Heart,
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: the janitor.
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: While I am thrilled to hear that Neil Flynn will be.
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: Making a guest appearance this season, a guest spot isn't enough.
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: The dynamic between JD and.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: The janitor is one of the most iconic rivalries in
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: television history. The show feels safer without him.
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: Lurking in the hallways. And frankly, we don't want Sacred
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: Heart to be safe.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: We want it to be hilarious and unpredictable. If and
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: when you move forward... With season three, which I hope
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: you are, please make it a priority to bring Nathan
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: Black back as a regular series regular. Whether he's Glenn
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: Matthews or just the janitor, the show needs a specific
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: brand of carefully created chaos. I am watching every week
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: and spreading the word, but I'm doing it with the
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: hope that we'll see more of the original cast, especially
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: the man who once put a penny in a door
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: and changed TV forever.
- 1:01:43Speaker 6: I love the reboot. A hundred percent better than I
- 1:01:46Speaker 6: could have imagined. Love the show. Y'all are amazing.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Sincerely, Kyle.
- 1:01:50Speaker 9: Oh, Kyle.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: Thank you so much. That just warmed my heart. Well,
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: the thing about Neil is we love him too. And
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: we'd love to have him in as much as he's
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: willing to do. You know, we shoot the show up
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: in Vancouver. And I think I heard Neil say something like,
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: if y'all were shooting in the Valley, you wouldn't be
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: able to get rid of me. So we'll see. Won't we, Sarah?
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Just kidding.
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: You're trying to end on a high note, Kyle.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: I thought you were trying to beat me.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: No, thank you, Kyle. That's really sweet. We're glad you're
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: loving it.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: We love you, Kyle. And we love Neil. And we're
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: so glad when Neil comes because he's so funny.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: As he was in this episode.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: As he was in this episode. He's just such a
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: pleasure to be around. Okay, let's do some final things.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Tell your friends about this podcast because it's new. It
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: being on video on Hulu, please share. Spread the word.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: We're not sure everybody knows that.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: The best way to watch the podcast, though, is to
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: watch Scrubs not only on ABC, but watch it on
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Hulu so you can be as well-versed with the episode
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: as we are when watching this rewatch podcast.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: And to clarify, I want Neil in every single episode.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: The reference Zach was making is because I would like
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: the show to stay in Canada. Yes. And they might
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: like it.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Yes, I think everyone understands the inference there. Ava, how
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: do people find you on Instagram? What's your handle?
- 1:03:12Speaker 7: Ava Marie Bunn.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Ava Marie Bunn, B-U-N-N?
- 1:03:16Speaker 7: B-U-N-N.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: She's a lot of fun to follow, guys.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: She does characters. Ava is an amazing sketch comedian. She's
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: very wacky, and we love her. Follow her on Instagram. Thanks, guys.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: And I'm going to give one last final shout out.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: I have a movie that I made called Clean Hands
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: that's coming out.
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: I'm not sure when this airs, but my movie will
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: have come out and be on your, wherever you can
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: buy movies on October 16th. I'm really proud of it.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Please check out Clean Hands. And that's it. Donald, count
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: us out.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 1:03:50Speaker 8: Here's some stories about a show we made. About a
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: bunch of docs and nurses in a Canada who love
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: to hate. I said here's a story.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: That we all should know.
- 1:04:05Speaker 8: Get around to hear our Scrubs Rewatch Show
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: With Zach and Donald.
