- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome in the Jags find a way to win in
- 0:05Speaker 1: week one in Indie. You guys, what was the biggest
- 0:08Speaker 1: play for you in yesterday's game?
- 0:09Speaker 2: Jamal Agnew has to be the biggest play of the game, right,
- 0:12Speaker 2: The big punt return could have been inside the ten
- 0:14Speaker 2: and then it ends up positive territory, Jags turning too
- 0:17Speaker 2: the go ahead that ship.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Don't forget about the forgotten guy in this offense all
- 0:20Speaker 3: off season, Zay Jones. An amazing catch, and if he
- 0:24Speaker 3: doesn't make that catch all of a sudden, the score
- 0:26Speaker 3: and the tone of that game is different for a
- 0:28Speaker 3: couple of quarters.
- 0:47Speaker 4: Welcome into Jags A.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I'm our first victory Monday, Jags A, I'm Brind's out
- 0:51Speaker 1: with us today. Brent Martineau stepping in. We appreciate you.
- 0:53Speaker 1: John Oser here as always. I'm sure going to point
- 0:55Speaker 1: out that he was correct about how.
- 0:56Speaker 4: The game was going to play out. We'll let and
- 0:58Speaker 4: get to that in a little bit. I know you're
- 0:59Speaker 4: just chomping at the vit to tell us you were right.
- 1:02Speaker 1: But we're presented by Carshield here today and we're in
- 1:04Speaker 1: the Hundai studios.
- 1:05Speaker 4: We're just this is good.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I was excited to finally talk about some football, and
- 1:08Speaker 1: I think we all predicted in Jags win. I don't
- 1:10Speaker 1: think we predicted it in that manner, Brent. Are we
- 1:13Speaker 1: surprised by how things played out?
- 1:15Speaker 4: Or is it just a Week one thing.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I do think Week one is weird, so you got
- 1:18Speaker 2: to expect the unexpected. But I don't think any of
- 1:20Speaker 2: us thought the Jaguars defense was going to steal the show.
- 1:22Speaker 2: For the last eight months, nobody was talking about the
- 1:25Speaker 2: Jags defense. All of a sudden, it stole the show.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I thought the Jags defense would play better this season
- 1:29Speaker 2: because they would be in the lead. Wasn't necessarily the case.
- 1:32Speaker 2: They had to actually keep the Jags offense in the game.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That's what was so different.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Well, I read both of your previews for the file
- 1:40Speaker 3: analysis that we do on Jaguars dot Com, and I
- 1:43Speaker 3: kind of thought we all were in agreement that it
- 1:44Speaker 3: would be a game where the fans were expecting this blowout.
- 1:48Speaker 5: Wings You'd heard so much about.
- 1:49Speaker 3: This team, and I think we all thought there'd be
- 1:51Speaker 3: Week one, there'd be some Anthony richardson big plays, there'd
- 1:55Speaker 3: be some weirdness. You don't get weirder than the Forrest Buckner,
- 1:58Speaker 3: So I guess I wasn't surprised all the way it
- 2:01Speaker 3: played out, and I'm getting a lot of angst in
- 2:03Speaker 3: my inbox and people just you know, and.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Where are we, Brent? When you score thirty one and.
- 2:11Speaker 3: You're criticizing the play calling, you win by ten with
- 2:15Speaker 3: a weird defensive touchdown on the other side, so maybe
- 2:18Speaker 3: you should have won by seventeen, and.
- 2:19Speaker 5: People are mad. It's a new area, Jaguar.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I mean, it's really think about the years, Brent, when
- 2:24Speaker 3: it would have been cartwheels over that game.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I'm guilty of it too, John, because that game did
- 2:28Speaker 2: not feel rhythmic, great stuff we've seen in the preseason,
- 2:33Speaker 2: and you look up at the end of the day
- 2:34Speaker 2: they have thirty one points, like, okay, I'll stop.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Well.
- 2:37Speaker 5: I think that's important though.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I mean the fact that they can do that and
- 2:40Speaker 3: not feel like they're in tune or in sync if
- 2:44Speaker 3: you will, it does show you the expectations on this team,
- 2:48Speaker 3: and I think it's important for a team not to
- 2:50Speaker 3: be able to play well. And because they said it
- 2:53Speaker 3: was sloppy and still put up thirty one and still
- 2:56Speaker 3: feel it never got a hand and they pulled away
- 3:00Speaker 3: at the end. So that was I said to somebody
- 3:04Speaker 3: last year after the Washington game, you.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Know, there was a good NFL loss.
- 3:09Speaker 3: We had so many bad losses here in the past,
- 3:11Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, after that Washington game, you
- 3:13Speaker 3: felt like they were gonna be okay. They were planned. Well, yes,
- 3:17Speaker 3: it was a good NFL win. Yeah it was, yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 3: because you.
- 3:20Speaker 5: Could have lost it.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Polar opposites those two openers, and I think it shows
- 3:24Speaker 3: you how far they've come.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I don't feel I don't know if Kai knows this
- 3:26Speaker 2: because I said it to were on Jaguars All Access.
- 3:28Speaker 2: She's coming in at a good time. I'm not sure
- 3:30Speaker 2: Doug Peterson realizes this. This is not a game the
- 3:33Speaker 2: Jags win over the last fifteen years. They do not
- 3:36Speaker 2: make plays in the fourth quarter to win. We are
- 3:39Speaker 2: still getting used to that around here.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Let's go over some of the big things, because we
- 3:42Speaker 1: touched on them a little bit. But big thing number
- 3:44Speaker 1: one is good teams find a way because they do.
- 3:46Speaker 1: As we've mentioned here, good teams find a way to win.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And you said this before. The Jags haven't found a
- 3:51Speaker 1: way to win in the past, but now they're a
- 3:53Speaker 1: good team and they found that way. I think at
- 3:55Speaker 1: one point they went forward on fourth down. John, we
- 3:57Speaker 1: were discussing it in the press box. You're like, maybe
- 3:59Speaker 1: take the points, maybe don't go for it. And Doug
- 4:01Speaker 1: Peterson he's all about it. He's got that I don't know,
- 4:05Speaker 1: he's got that gut, he's ready to go. He'll stomach
- 4:07Speaker 1: whatever that ending of that play was going to be,
- 4:09Speaker 1: but end up working out. So he looks very, very smart.
- 4:12Speaker 1: But they found a way to win. You have to
- 4:15Speaker 1: rely on that and feel a little bit good about
- 4:16Speaker 1: how things ended up.
- 4:18Speaker 5: John, Yeah, I think you feel like good.
- 4:19Speaker 3: The sequence we were talking about was when the Jags
- 4:23Speaker 3: had the ball down twenty one seventeen and it was
- 4:28Speaker 3: fourth down within field goal range at that time, A
- 4:32Speaker 3: conventional wisdom old days, which Doug Peterson is not a
- 4:35Speaker 3: conventional wisdom old days coach, I would have kicked a
- 4:38Speaker 3: field goal gotten within one with the idea that at
- 4:41Speaker 3: that point the Colts, after their touchdown to Michael Pittman,
- 4:47Speaker 3: had twenty seven yards until that final drive when it
- 4:50Speaker 3: was sort of mop up top.
- 4:51Speaker 5: The defense was stopping him and Anthony Richardson was not
- 4:54Speaker 5: going to move them, so.
- 4:55Speaker 3: I thought kick the field goal. Stop him, get another
- 4:57Speaker 3: field goal and you probably win the game. Doesn't think
- 5:00Speaker 3: that way, as I told kaya said, that's why he
- 5:04Speaker 3: lives where he lives, and I live in Springfield.
- 5:06Speaker 1: They fat him the big bucks for that, for sure.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Our big thing. Number two, we're going to talk about
- 5:11Speaker 1: the defense. He touched on that a little bit. They
- 5:13Speaker 1: kind of same today. We've been giving them. You know
- 5:15Speaker 1: a lot of people been complaining about the past rush.
- 5:17Speaker 1: How are they going to get to it? Josh Allen said,
- 5:20Speaker 1: I got this myself. He had three tackles for lost
- 5:22Speaker 1: three sacks when they have seven sacks all of last year.
- 5:25Speaker 1: So he's clearly above pace already. After game one, right,
- 5:29Speaker 1: he looked like a man on fire out there.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah, he's the monster. The play he's not even get
- 5:32Speaker 2: a lot of credit or enough credit. I already seen
- 5:34Speaker 2: people say, well he ran it Richardson out of bounds.
- 5:37Speaker 2: It's like he ran Richardson out of boonds. Go back
- 5:40Speaker 2: and look at that play, and I'm telling you, guys
- 5:42Speaker 2: that are elite in this league don't make that play.
- 5:46Speaker 2: And he made some others too. He was terrific. But John,
- 5:49Speaker 2: I think we've got to give credit to the secondary
- 5:51Speaker 2: here because some of those sacks were coverage sacks. Anthony
- 5:54Speaker 2: Richardson didn't like what he saw. I had to escape
- 5:56Speaker 2: the pocket or stay in the pocket. I think the
- 5:58Speaker 2: unsung hero of this game is really the secondary of
- 6:02Speaker 2: the Jaguars, not that they're electric on the outside. They
- 6:04Speaker 2: did their job, they did it well. They allowed the
- 6:06Speaker 2: Jags to eat up front a little bit when they
- 6:08Speaker 2: had to.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought there were some coverage rookie quarterback sacks.
- 6:12Speaker 3: At the same time. They had four against somebody who's
- 6:17Speaker 3: not as unbelievably strong as this kid. They probably have
- 6:20Speaker 3: seven because they were on them a lot. So however,
- 6:24Speaker 3: those numbers work out. You take sacks where you can
- 6:26Speaker 3: get them through the year because you missed so many
- 6:28Speaker 3: that are so close. They'll take the four they got yesterday.
- 6:33Speaker 3: An impressive defensive effort. I thought, if you focused on
- 6:36Speaker 3: one thing, they stopped him four or five times on
- 6:39Speaker 3: fourth down against the old school, conservative old man and
- 6:44Speaker 3: me Brent. This has become a fourth down league, especially
- 6:47Speaker 3: with coaches you know, Peterson and Psyching psychings out of
- 6:50Speaker 3: that Philadelphia school that goes forward a lot stop on
- 6:54Speaker 3: fourth down in some games.
- 6:57Speaker 5: It's become the new third.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Down Money's down money downs were bad for both teams.
- 7:02Speaker 2: By the way seven thirty.
- 7:03Speaker 4: It wasn't a good look. It wasn't a good look.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Our last big thing off the top is going to
- 7:07Speaker 1: be O line because going into Renny Camp, we thought
- 7:10Speaker 1: the offensive line was gonna be a strong suit, maybe
- 7:12Speaker 1: the deepest section of this team. But it looked tough
- 7:15Speaker 1: at times yesterday and Brendan Sheriff also had an injury. John,
- 7:21Speaker 1: what's going on with the O line? Is this something
- 7:23Speaker 1: they can figure out? Is this an off thing? Is
- 7:25Speaker 1: this a game one thing?
- 7:26Speaker 4: What are your thoughts?
- 7:27Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 7:27Speaker 3: I think thing to remember offensive line can be tough
- 7:31Speaker 3: in the opener because just like with other parts of
- 7:34Speaker 3: the of the coaching staff, defenses scheme all season for
- 7:41Speaker 3: like this one game, and they do things you don't expect.
- 7:46Speaker 3: The other thing to remember is, as Trevor Lawrence said
- 7:49Speaker 3: after the game, the interior of the Colts defense is
- 7:52Speaker 3: their strength. It's one of the best in the league,
- 7:55Speaker 3: and I think we sort of overlooked. I even said
- 7:58Speaker 3: it last week. Well to Forest Bugn, you should be
- 7:59Speaker 3: able to stop at defensive tackle. Yeah, well, he's an
- 8:01Speaker 3: All Pro defensive tackle and he's really good and that's
- 8:04Speaker 3: the strength and Gus is a good, experienced defensive coordinator.
- 8:08Speaker 5: They're a defense that's still believed.
- 8:10Speaker 3: You know, Week one is so tough, I've always thought
- 8:13Speaker 3: because nobody believes they're bad, yet nobody has any negatives
- 8:16Speaker 3: to believe, well, we're not gonna be good this year.
- 8:18Speaker 3: By week eight or nine, teams sort of know what
- 8:20Speaker 3: they are, so they know they're not gonna win certain games.
- 8:23Speaker 3: The Colts weren't feeling that, so they thought they were
- 8:25Speaker 3: gonna win the game. I'm not overly worried about the
- 8:29Speaker 3: offensive line because I believe Phil rash is gonna figure
- 8:32Speaker 3: this out. I believe they were okay last year. I
- 8:34Speaker 3: think he's gonna be fine going forward. But I'm sort
- 8:37Speaker 3: of in the minority. Everybody's concerned about it.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I'll tell you why I'm mostly concerned
- 8:40Speaker 2: about in in a second. But I think also, the
- 8:43Speaker 2: Colts don't always come across as his physical team. We've
- 8:46Speaker 2: covered them for a long time around here. The Titans,
- 8:48Speaker 2: different story. Baltimore, Pittsburgh, those are the teams you think
- 8:50Speaker 2: physical Jacks got whooped up front. I mean that defensive
- 8:54Speaker 2: front really did a number on the Jags even on
- 8:56Speaker 2: the good place, Trevor's running for his life a little
- 8:58Speaker 2: bit and making something happen with his legs. Here's where
- 9:01Speaker 2: I'm concerned about the offensive line. They are banged up
- 9:05Speaker 2: quietly right Walker Little didn't play that last preseason game
- 9:08Speaker 2: against Miami. He was nursing the slight growing thing. He
- 9:11Speaker 2: had a tough couple of series at one time in
- 9:14Speaker 2: this football game. You look at a guy like Harrison
- 9:18Speaker 2: who also had some tough moments shoulder right. Sheriff now
- 9:22Speaker 2: with the injury, so they're not mate well, Sheriff could
- 9:26Speaker 2: be a little more than sure minor, but they're battling
- 9:30Speaker 2: some things. One caveat hit me last night at like
- 9:33Speaker 2: eleven o'clock, which means I think too much about the
- 9:35Speaker 2: Jacksonville Jaguars. Remember last year it's Washington and the opener.
- 9:38Speaker 2: They were terrible in the opener, the offensive line. I
- 9:41Speaker 2: think there were forty drop back passes in that game,
- 9:43Speaker 2: and Trevor got hard red twenty times, so fifty. They
- 9:49Speaker 2: did not play well. They went not to play very well.
- 9:51Speaker 2: So Rauscher, to your point, and company got better as
- 9:54Speaker 2: a season one.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Awe, they also did okay, And I don't want a
- 9:56Speaker 3: great on a curve, but they did ok in spots,
- 9:59Speaker 3: good protection, the A Jones touchdown, and don't forget it's
- 10:03Speaker 3: hard to run in this league. They stuck with it
- 10:06Speaker 3: and by the fourth quarter when they needed it, it
- 10:10Speaker 3: was there. And you know one thing we haven't talked
- 10:12Speaker 3: about yet. I overlooked him because I was on the
- 10:15Speaker 3: bigsby traying all all pre seasons good and that last run.
- 10:21Speaker 5: You know, I had some fans, well, he didn't run
- 10:24Speaker 5: the ball.
- 10:25Speaker 3: If you watched that last run, Travis Etn had a
- 10:27Speaker 3: nice run on that and he we had talked about
- 10:31Speaker 3: him as a dark horse for MVP outside of Trevor.
- 10:34Speaker 5: That's not nothing. He's he's he's got it.
- 10:37Speaker 2: This year he had like over one hundred yards of
- 10:38Speaker 2: total offense, which it didn't feel like. I did not
- 10:40Speaker 2: overlook him. I loved the guy and I think he's
- 10:42Speaker 2: one of the most underrated players in the National Football
- 10:44Speaker 2: League coming off of last year. Simply put, I mean,
- 10:47Speaker 2: he's a weapon they got to utilize the more I
- 10:49Speaker 2: thought they should have screen gained them a little bit more.
- 10:51Speaker 3: In fact, yesterday, and it's odd to think about Travis
- 10:54Speaker 3: having one hundred quiet yards. I was stunned when I
- 10:58Speaker 3: looked at it and he had over one hundred totally yards.
- 11:00Speaker 5: But he got it in workmanlike fashion.
- 11:03Speaker 3: If he's getting yards in workman like fashion, he's gonna
- 11:06Speaker 3: have a monster year because the huge plays are gonna
- 11:08Speaker 3: come for.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Him, absolutely, as we saw at the end of the
- 11:10Speaker 1: game yesterday. All Right, coming up, we're gonna go over
- 11:12Speaker 1: all the highlights from yesterday's game, including one of the weirdest.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Plays I've seen in professional football. So we'll be right back.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Move the freight, Move the freight.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Magellan Transport voted coolest office space in Jackson, Billy. You
- 11:26Speaker 1: can apply online at www dot Magellan Logistics dot com.
- 11:30Speaker 1: All right, we're back here on Jags Am victory Monday.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Good times for us. We're gonna go over some of
- 11:35Speaker 1: the highlights because it was a weird one and if
- 11:37Speaker 1: a lot of emotions, ups and downs for sure, But
- 11:41Speaker 1: starting out early, we saw exactly what we wanted to
- 11:43Speaker 1: see between Trevor Lawrence and Calvin Ridley because Calvin Ridley's
- 11:47Speaker 1: just doing Calvin Ridley things. Because he of course had
- 11:49Speaker 1: to find Calvin Ridley in the back of the end
- 11:51Speaker 1: zone for the first touchdown of the game and the
- 11:54Speaker 1: first shutdown for Ridley in a while Bright where you
- 11:56Speaker 1: surprised that they had that connection right off the bat.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Not really we talked about all week. I thought they'd
- 12:01Speaker 2: actually kill the out route much more, but gust and
- 12:04Speaker 2: the defense kind of took that away. This is a
- 12:06Speaker 2: tremendous play, but again, he has to run away from pressure,
- 12:09Speaker 2: and if you watch the end zone angle of this,
- 12:12Speaker 2: it looks like you almost throws a no look past
- 12:14Speaker 2: the Riddley because Brenton Strange is wide open. So then
- 12:17Speaker 2: the defender jump ends up over there jumping the Brenton
- 12:19Speaker 2: Strange part of this.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Okay, let's be fair. He ran away from pressure, but
- 12:24Speaker 5: he'd already been in the pocket like four seconds at
- 12:26Speaker 5: that point.
- 12:27Speaker 3: So I know you're banging the offensive line this week,
- 12:29Speaker 3: but I thought the offensive line was fine on that.
- 12:32Speaker 3: What happens, he was looking for Ingram and they had
- 12:34Speaker 3: it covered. Tram made a great play getting back around,
- 12:36Speaker 3: was never really pressured on the play. Here's what's striking
- 12:43Speaker 3: one hundred yards in a touchdown for Ridley and you
- 12:46Speaker 3: sort of felt after the game why he could add
- 12:48Speaker 3: a lot more.
- 12:50Speaker 5: Yeah, so.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Sure, there you know, and I'm getting emails. Why did
- 12:55Speaker 3: they use Christian, Well, you can't use everybody. This offense
- 12:59Speaker 3: I think had three hundred and twenty yesterday. There are
- 13:02Speaker 3: gonna be weeks where this thing gets going. You saw
- 13:04Speaker 3: flashes of it, and it's going to be a share
- 13:06Speaker 3: of the wealth.
- 13:06Speaker 1: And we talked about people that were going to benefit from,
- 13:09Speaker 1: you know, that coverage on Ridley's a Jones. He had
- 13:12Speaker 1: a day yesterday and one of the prettiest catches I've
- 13:14Speaker 1: seen in quite some time in that back of the
- 13:15Speaker 1: end zone, going down and getting that with one hand.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I know you talked to say on the ozone podcast, John,
- 13:20Speaker 1: and he's excited.
- 13:21Speaker 4: For the role he plays. Whatever role that's going to be.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Well, and he's good in that role because he's really dangerous.
- 13:27Speaker 3: If if you double Ridley or if you take other
- 13:31Speaker 3: things away, he can sure beat single coverage whenever he
- 13:35Speaker 3: has it. I thought this play, you know, don't discount
- 13:40Speaker 3: a couple of throws that Trevor Lawrence made yesterday, this one,
- 13:43Speaker 3: the one down the sidelines to Ingram quietly. Trevor Lawrence
- 13:49Speaker 3: his talent in this game and his status I think
- 13:52Speaker 3: is a top ten quarterback now. And rising was a
- 13:55Speaker 3: big difference between two quarterbacks who Richardson couldn't make those throws.
- 13:58Speaker 5: In the NFL, those things matter.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Kyle also think that shows a lot of trust too,
- 14:01Speaker 2: because that play showed trust to get it to Zay
- 14:04Speaker 2: Jones early before the Ridley touchdowns, a twenty four yard
- 14:07Speaker 2: play kind of just throws up to him and says, hey,
- 14:09Speaker 2: I'm going to go get We make a play.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:10Speaker 2: It's a good throw and everything, but its reminiscent of
- 14:12Speaker 2: that Miami game where he threw the one down the
- 14:14Speaker 2: sideline to him. He's starting to trust these guys and
- 14:17Speaker 2: really he trusts himself.
- 14:18Speaker 3: You can't win if you don't have that in the
- 14:20Speaker 3: NFL between quarterback and receiver.
- 14:22Speaker 5: It's a good sign. There were three or four plays
- 14:24Speaker 5: like that yesterday.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Let's go to one of the weirdest things I've ever
- 14:27Speaker 1: seen in professional football, because why not to for s Buckner,
- 14:29Speaker 1: who we did talk about but clearly did not give
- 14:31Speaker 1: enough credit to that. So obviously they called it a bumble.
- 14:36Speaker 1: You know, you could think at first maybe it was
- 14:38Speaker 1: an incomplete pass, but everybody stopped. And I think one
- 14:40Speaker 1: of the first things Doug said after game was we
- 14:42Speaker 1: talked about this every single Thursday you played in the
- 14:44Speaker 1: West All you just always play until things are dead dead,
- 14:48Speaker 1: the play is over, and they did it. And unfortunately
- 14:50Speaker 1: that's just a little bit of a mental mistake there, Brent.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Do you play make much of it or do you
- 14:54Speaker 1: think it's just a hey, one off, We're not going
- 14:56Speaker 1: to see that again. Maybe there was two Brookies on
- 14:58Speaker 1: that side involved in it and it just wasn't you know,
- 15:01Speaker 1: they just didn't fall through on it.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you see this from time to time
- 15:04Speaker 2: in the league where it's just one of these wacky plays.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I think it's a nothing play at the end of
- 15:09Speaker 2: the day, One because you want and overcame it, and
- 15:11Speaker 2: two because I don't think we're going to see it again.
- 15:13Speaker 2: So I'm not really sure, Like, yeah, it's a learning
- 15:15Speaker 2: point if your coach all that stuff played through the whistle,
- 15:18Speaker 2: I actually think it mightn't be a play at the
- 15:20Speaker 2: NFL wants to look at the play's done. He's given
- 15:22Speaker 2: himself up and it should the play still be active.
- 15:25Speaker 2: But I don't know how you officiate that if not.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I mean, you got to play to the end of
- 15:29Speaker 2: the whistle all that stuff, but everyone on the field
- 15:32Speaker 2: it wasn't just Tank bigs people. Most everybody on the field,
- 15:34Speaker 2: even DeForrest Bucker, thought it was incomplete right alert give.
- 15:39Speaker 3: I'm drawing a blank in the linebacker's name who forced
- 15:41Speaker 3: it out played really well yesterday. If that ball, you know,
- 15:48Speaker 3: everybody's killing Tank Bigsby because he had.
- 15:50Speaker 5: The drop in the first half. There was a tough
- 15:52Speaker 5: you know, and he had this one.
- 15:54Speaker 3: My guess is if that ball had bounced to ten
- 15:57Speaker 3: other Jaguars, probably eight of them do this same thing.
- 16:00Speaker 3: It looked like Evan knew what was going on because
- 16:02Speaker 3: he was still trying to follow the ball most colts did.
- 16:07Speaker 3: It flashed in my mind that they might stop it
- 16:10Speaker 3: for giving himself up. I think had he been on
- 16:13Speaker 3: the ground, that might have had a little bit more
- 16:16Speaker 3: Looking back at the play, I watched it again last night.
- 16:20Speaker 3: I don't know how else the officials could have correctly
- 16:23Speaker 3: officiated it under how it is now, because since he
- 16:27Speaker 3: wasn't on the ground, he wasn't as much giving himself up.
- 16:30Speaker 3: But again, you watch this game for thirty years, you
- 16:34Speaker 3: think you've seen everything, and invariably, once a week you
- 16:38Speaker 3: see something where you think, oh.
- 16:40Speaker 5: That's why officiating is hard.
- 16:41Speaker 2: At the end of the day, this was Miles Jack's fault.
- 16:44Speaker 5: Yeah, well.
- 16:47Speaker 4: You want it.
- 16:48Speaker 5: It's very true, very true.
- 16:50Speaker 1: All right, let's move things forward because this is a
- 16:52Speaker 1: turning point, just this drive as a whole. It started
- 16:55Speaker 1: with Agnew's return, right, he hadn't been getting a ton
- 16:58Speaker 1: We obviously know he's capable, but he chose to run
- 17:00Speaker 1: this one back goes across the field. It's a Huger
- 17:02Speaker 1: turnout of it. And I really felt the momentum change
- 17:04Speaker 1: because before that you were kind of like, what are
- 17:06Speaker 1: we doing? Like it didn't feel great, and then this
- 17:09Speaker 1: huge momentum turner. Down on fourth down, they go to
- 17:12Speaker 1: Za Jones to get the first down, and then these
- 17:14Speaker 1: two back to back plays from Tank Bigsby, who they
- 17:16Speaker 1: did not shy away from. I mean maybe he mad
- 17:19Speaker 1: had some rookie moments, but they went to him after
- 17:21Speaker 1: that and they pushed him down to the one yard
- 17:22Speaker 1: line and then Trevor follows him in for the score
- 17:25Speaker 1: right after this, and just showing that trust brand in
- 17:28Speaker 1: a rookies where you know, maybe they're not doing everything
- 17:30Speaker 1: you want, but if you're gonna play a rookie, you
- 17:32Speaker 1: gotta let him have those moments.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Listen, I don't know if they win the game, if
- 17:36Speaker 2: they have to start in the ball at the five
- 17:38Speaker 2: or seven or ten yard line. I mean, I don't
- 17:40Speaker 2: think they do the way the offense was fut or
- 17:42Speaker 2: not going ninety yards in that football game. I also
- 17:45Speaker 2: think the play, well, fourth and two is going to
- 17:47Speaker 2: be the most underrated to play the game because it's
- 17:50Speaker 2: a nice job by Trevor to find Jay and obviously
- 17:52Speaker 2: the call to go for it. But this is the
- 17:54Speaker 2: play because the offensive line wasn't great yesterday, Tank Bigsby
- 17:58Speaker 2: wasn't great yesterday, but in this moment, they all were awesome.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and I give Brenton Strange from credit here too,
- 18:05Speaker 3: basically got it. He gets his hands around Bigsby's waist,
- 18:08Speaker 3: said okay, we're going in. Yeah, and as strange as
- 18:11Speaker 3: a rookie too. Again this drive, that's Zay Jones play.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I'm fifty seven, Brent, so I'm probably not going to
- 18:20Speaker 3: change my old man ways.
- 18:24Speaker 5: That is not a play that you was yesterday.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Eight first down attemp I mean eight first down attempts
- 18:31Speaker 3: on fourth down. Yeah, it got routine there for a minute,
- 18:34Speaker 3: So it's routine to go for that.
- 18:36Speaker 4: You go.
- 18:36Speaker 5: That's high risk.
- 18:38Speaker 3: A lot of old coaches are rolling in their grave saying,
- 18:40Speaker 3: how in the world don't you kick a field goal there?
- 18:42Speaker 3: You've got Richardson on his heels. You probably kick and
- 18:46Speaker 3: get it back at your own forty You trust your kicker.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Not today.
- 18:49Speaker 2: I don't know if it was confidence in the offense
- 18:52Speaker 2: or lack of confidence.
- 18:53Speaker 4: In the reverse. It was like, we don't know if
- 18:55Speaker 4: we're going to get another chance. We got to go
- 18:57Speaker 4: or chance?
- 18:57Speaker 2: Is that good?
- 18:58Speaker 4: Right?
- 18:58Speaker 2: Because when you get a turnover or which essentially was
- 19:01Speaker 2: like a turnover from Agnew, you want to take advantage
- 19:04Speaker 2: of it and make sure you get something out of
- 19:05Speaker 2: it so you can easily see kicking.
- 19:07Speaker 3: That's the way do Peterson believes, no doubt he is
- 19:10Speaker 3: going to go for it on the Super Bowl.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Yeah, listen, we don't mind. And nobody in Jacksonville mindset
- 19:14Speaker 2: anymore because they're confident in it too. And like I
- 19:17Speaker 2: was alright with the fourth and two because I was
- 19:19Speaker 2: pretty confident they can get two yards all the time,
- 19:21Speaker 2: even though it wasn't easy.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Yesterday.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Now I confess that I turned to Cassi, this is
- 19:25Speaker 3: the wrong move. But again, unfortunately they have me far
- 19:30Speaker 3: far away from.
- 19:32Speaker 4: All right, let's get over bred.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I know you talked a little bit about the secondary
- 19:35Speaker 1: and what they were able to do. We saw Cisco
- 19:37Speaker 1: force a fumble and then also Tyson Campbell's interception. We
- 19:40Speaker 1: think he's going to have a big year and I
- 19:42Speaker 1: know some sports down anyway, right so it because it
- 19:44Speaker 1: wouldn't have mattered. But this interception here from him and
- 19:48Speaker 1: what we were able to see the defense as a whole,
- 19:49Speaker 1: they really kind of save the day.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought secondary was terrific. Again, this is not
- 19:54Speaker 2: the most explosive offense in the NFL, especially on the outside,
- 19:57Speaker 2: but they did their job. This was a huge play. Again,
- 20:00Speaker 2: this is what you do when you win in the
- 20:01Speaker 2: fourth quarter. You put the game away with a play
- 20:04Speaker 2: like this. Tyson said he tried to bait them a
- 20:06Speaker 2: little bit and good ball skills. John. This is one
- 20:10Speaker 2: of my favorite guys that I've covered in fifteen years
- 20:12Speaker 2: here in Jacksonville. Really good game, because though you could
- 20:15Speaker 2: see the maturation of them, the first half of his
- 20:17Speaker 2: rookie season wasn't pretty. Heck, the first half of last year,
- 20:20Speaker 2: everybody's wondering if he's gonna get his head turned around
- 20:23Speaker 2: on ball so he can make interceptions. Nobody's asking that anymore.
- 20:26Speaker 2: And I haven't looked this up yet, but if you
- 20:28Speaker 2: go back probably to the last i'd say eight games
- 20:31Speaker 2: of last year and now this one, you're starting to
- 20:34Speaker 2: see Tyson Campbell make big plays, get his hands on
- 20:37Speaker 2: the football, forced fumbles, pick up fumbles, get interceptions. This
- 20:41Speaker 2: kid's a good player.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Man.
- 20:42Speaker 3: This is what you have to do when you're playing
- 20:45Speaker 3: a young quarterback. And it was second and ten.
- 20:49Speaker 5: All game.
- 20:49Speaker 3: It looked to me like the Colts smartly kept Richardson
- 20:53Speaker 3: in situations where he was over his feet. I like
- 20:56Speaker 3: to say, didn't have to do things he didn't want
- 20:59Speaker 3: to do. Of a sudden, for the first time you're down,
- 21:02Speaker 3: you're down by what.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Was it four or three?
- 21:06Speaker 3: Well, now, all of a sudden, it's not as applicable
- 21:10Speaker 3: to take the short pass. He goes downfield into a
- 21:13Speaker 3: defense that he doesn't want to throw into, and finally
- 21:16Speaker 3: they get the pick off of him and turn the game.
- 21:19Speaker 3: That's what the reason you think you're gonna beat rookie
- 21:22Speaker 3: quarterbacks is because it plays like that, and the Jaguars.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Got it, and you have to take advantage when given
- 21:27Speaker 1: that opportunity.
- 21:27Speaker 4: And it absolutely did.
- 21:28Speaker 5: And a big time played by Tyson.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Mean, oh, for sure, he has turned himself in in
- 21:34Speaker 3: his third year. He's now a veteran corner and one
- 21:38Speaker 3: of the core guys on this franchise.
- 21:40Speaker 1: We're gonna end things with that clincher for us. Etn,
- 21:43Speaker 1: who we just talked about, had that quite a great day.
- 21:45Speaker 1: This last play was not quiet from him to bounce
- 21:48Speaker 1: on the outside and just find open space.
- 21:50Speaker 4: John, did we think he could do this?
- 21:53Speaker 1: I know we've been talking about Tank a little bit,
- 21:55Speaker 1: and we did talk about Etn, but just what he's
- 21:56Speaker 1: been able to do this season so far and even
- 21:58Speaker 1: in preseason like the Flashes.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Well, this was impressive because remember last year I must
- 22:05Speaker 3: have asked him to or three different times during the
- 22:07Speaker 3: season in locker room he would get so close to
- 22:10Speaker 3: taking to the house, and now all of a sudden
- 22:13Speaker 3: he goes the whole game where he didn't, and then
- 22:15Speaker 3: when the opportunity is there, calmly finds the whole and
- 22:18Speaker 3: then accelerates right there. I mean, I thought this because
- 22:22Speaker 3: you felt like it was about to be over anyway,
- 22:25Speaker 3: Brings they were gonna kick a field goal.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Maybe this play gets lost a little bit.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I thought that was an impressive run. It's the kind
- 22:31Speaker 3: of run that gets backs to the numbers they want,
- 22:35Speaker 3: because all of a sudden, you've had a game where
- 22:37Speaker 3: he had what fifty, and he has one twenty six
- 22:40Speaker 3: yard run and at seventy and now you're on pace
- 22:42Speaker 3: to do what you want to do. Those are important
- 22:44Speaker 3: to those guys, not that day, but on Tuesday instead
- 22:47Speaker 3: of look at their numbers. Yeah, those matters.
- 22:49Speaker 5: So now he's got seventy and a touchdown.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Again, I overlooked it a little bit because I like
- 22:58Speaker 3: the way that Bagsby was playing so much in the preseason.
- 23:00Speaker 3: You didn't see Travis a whole lot. Uh bad on
- 23:04Speaker 3: me for forgetting how good this kid is.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Nobody's coming out of this game thinking, wow, Jags, they're
- 23:08Speaker 2: running attack is unbelievable. But to the biggest place it's
- 23:11Speaker 2: gonna be, to the biggest plays in the game where
- 23:13Speaker 2: the runs again Bigsby down to the one yard line
- 23:16Speaker 2: and then Etn finishing it off. And listen, he's got special,
- 23:20Speaker 2: special talent and he also knows how to take it.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Nobody's gonna give him enough credit for how tough is
- 23:26Speaker 2: a tough dude he keeps getting hit hard.
- 23:28Speaker 3: The biggest it's the biggest surprise about him that I
- 23:32Speaker 3: didn't know come out of college last year was a
- 23:34Speaker 3: rookie seven eight different times. This kid runs hard. Credit
- 23:39Speaker 3: to Doug and and Press.
- 23:44Speaker 5: Everybody.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Everybody in the league knows that you have to stick
- 23:47Speaker 3: with the run to make it work. Sometimes guys go
- 23:50Speaker 3: away from it. I was getting emails from fans all
- 23:53Speaker 3: day saying, what.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Are they doing? Guts.
- 23:56Speaker 3: If you don't keep doing it, you don't get plays
- 23:58Speaker 3: like they did at the end. It takes veteran patience
- 24:03Speaker 3: and maturities at play caller to stick with it when
- 24:05Speaker 3: it's not worth.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Let me add one thing there, And you were gonna said,
- 24:07Speaker 2: because I'm picking on the offensive line, I think they
- 24:09Speaker 2: had to stay with the run to keep them honest
- 24:11Speaker 2: a little bit, because they were getting beat up front
- 24:13Speaker 2: of times.
- 24:14Speaker 5: I do not want to be in the locker room
- 24:15Speaker 5: when you walk in with the offensive linemen this season.
- 24:17Speaker 4: Those are big men. They are not gonna We've got.
- 24:19Speaker 5: To be old negative, Brent.

- 24:56Speaker 4: So John, you go first. What was your hot take today?
- 25:00Speaker 5: Hooray for me, you know, and.
- 25:02Speaker 4: You know, some people like mild wings. That's just the
- 25:05Speaker 4: way it works.
- 25:05Speaker 5: It's okay to.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Went that way in week one, and I you know,
- 25:08Speaker 3: beyond that, I know we've talked about a lot. I
- 25:11Speaker 3: actually thought they did a nice job of managing their situations,
- 25:16Speaker 3: considering there was some sloppiness.
- 25:18Speaker 5: I didn't feel like they panicked.
- 25:20Speaker 3: They did a nice job in the first half of
- 25:22Speaker 3: when they had to grind it out. They grinded it
- 25:25Speaker 3: out and had a fourteen to seven lead and were
- 25:28Speaker 3: a smidge away from having that thing being a ten
- 25:30Speaker 3: point game at half, which I think would have changed
- 25:32Speaker 3: the dynamic in the second half, so I thought they
- 25:34Speaker 3: managed that well.
- 25:36Speaker 5: And then to stay calm in the fourth quarter when.
- 25:39Speaker 3: You're frustrated already because you're playing this Guest Bradley defense
- 25:43Speaker 3: that really doesn't let you take the shots and get it.
- 25:45Speaker 3: And then all of a sudden, with the offense almost flucially,
- 25:51Speaker 3: now you're down by four and you could have easily
- 25:54Speaker 3: gotten frustrated. Let it get out of hand, and they
- 25:56Speaker 3: come back in the fourth quarter and do it everybody
- 25:58Speaker 3: thought they would do all along, and the game. It's
- 26:01Speaker 3: been a theme all day for me. I think I
- 26:03Speaker 3: think it was. It was a professional win. It got
- 26:06Speaker 3: him and guess what we're complaining about a team.
- 26:10Speaker 5: It's all in first place.
- 26:11Speaker 4: I love it. Win's a win. I'm fine with the ten.
- 26:13Speaker 4: All right, Brent, what.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Do you got, by the way, Defensive Player of the Year, Josh.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Allen, Right, let's do it.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Why not? Remember kalay Is Campbell in twenty seventeen and
- 26:24Speaker 2: four and a half sacks against Houston to start the
- 26:27Speaker 2: year as a monster game. He ended up being in
- 26:29Speaker 2: the Defensive Player of the Year running the entire way.
- 26:32Speaker 2: It was debatable he didn't end up winning it. Josh
- 26:35Speaker 2: Is on a mission Josh had three sacks, three tackle
- 26:39Speaker 2: for loss. It was ten tackles. He has a chance now,
- 26:43Speaker 2: because of a start like that, to really stack up numbers.
- 26:47Speaker 4: T J.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Watt also had a hat trick. Obviously, he's a perennial
- 26:51Speaker 2: part of this conversation. The one thing about Josh Allen
- 26:54Speaker 2: now is can he be consistent? Because that's the thing.
- 26:58Speaker 2: He's had monster games for Buffalo a couple of years
- 27:01Speaker 2: back and then it fell off the table. Can he
- 27:03Speaker 2: be consistent? But this has been brewing last year. You
- 27:07Speaker 2: look at all the metrics, all the numbers, and he
- 27:10Speaker 2: said this year to us in the preseason, got to
- 27:13Speaker 2: hit the layups, gotta hit the layups. Well, he hit
- 27:15Speaker 2: the layups yesterday. He's got three sacks. He is off
- 27:18Speaker 2: to a terrific start. He's got the capability and talent
- 27:21Speaker 2: to be able to do it. So what the heck?
- 27:23Speaker 2: I've been all in on Josh's entire career. I'm going
- 27:25Speaker 2: all in right now. Defensive player of the Year, Josh Allen.
- 27:28Speaker 3: How about that one thing about Josh too? What he
- 27:32Speaker 3: gives you that gets lost? And I get that it's
- 27:35Speaker 3: a sacks game even when he doesn't get sacks.
- 27:39Speaker 5: He's really good against the run and for an edge rusher.
- 27:43Speaker 3: A lot of times you don't get that it's either
- 27:46Speaker 3: sacks or nothing. He's a force and a strength when
- 27:49Speaker 3: he's not quite hitting the layups. So I guess my
- 27:53Speaker 3: point is he never hurts you. True, it's just a
- 27:56Speaker 3: matter of how much he helps you. And I think
- 27:58Speaker 3: they have two outside backs like that the way I
- 28:00Speaker 3: think Trayvon's basically the same guy. Even if he's not
- 28:02Speaker 3: getting sacks. They're stout on the edges because of those guys,
- 28:06Speaker 3: and that's not nothing.
- 28:07Speaker 2: The play that your remember, yes, or actually is the
- 28:09Speaker 2: tackle for loss Yes when Josh.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I think arguably might have been his best. I
- 28:14Speaker 1: know it sacks in the game, but tackle for loss
- 28:16Speaker 1: was huge. You inspired me. You know, I didn't know
- 28:19Speaker 1: what I was gonna do for.
- 28:20Speaker 4: My hot takes.
- 28:21Speaker 1: He is inspirational, he is, so you know what, I'm
- 28:25Speaker 1: gonna double down. And I don't disagree with you about
- 28:27Speaker 1: Josh having a good year, but I think it's gonna
- 28:29Speaker 1: benefit Trayvon. And I say that because I feel like
- 28:32Speaker 1: Josh having these numbers out of the gate and doing
- 28:35Speaker 1: what is best for the team, which is what Josh
- 28:36Speaker 1: will ultimately do will end up benefiting Trayon on the
- 28:38Speaker 1: other side of the ball because when people game plan
- 28:40Speaker 1: for Josh from Trayvon will get the remnants of that,
- 28:43Speaker 1: and I think he's gonna end up with more sacks
- 28:44Speaker 1: than we expect. I do expect that second year jump
- 28:46Speaker 1: from Trayon. I'm going all in and pushing the chips in.
- 28:49Speaker 1: This is the hottest hot takes. I think Trayvon's gonna
- 28:50Speaker 1: have more sex than Josh this year.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Well, here's a deal too on that. I believe this
- 28:55Speaker 2: defense is better and Josh and Trayvon and those guys
- 28:57Speaker 2: are going to get more production because they'll play with
- 28:59Speaker 2: the lean more because of the offense being so good.
- 29:02Speaker 2: That's what gives me more faith in the Jaguars defense
- 29:05Speaker 2: and a lot of folks out there. They didn't do
- 29:07Speaker 2: that yesterday but now.
- 29:09Speaker 1: And they still had the stats, which's impressed.
- 29:11Speaker 2: SAE will more throughout the seasonere you're gonna be up
- 29:13Speaker 2: two touchdowns or more of that late game scenario we
- 29:15Speaker 2: saw where you can go clean up some yanbe ones.
- 29:18Speaker 3: It's gonna be huge. Also, it seemed to me the Colts,
- 29:23Speaker 3: even though they got four Richardson's not that easy to
- 29:28Speaker 3: sack because they, to me, clearly had a game plan
- 29:30Speaker 3: of getting the ball out of his hands and not
- 29:32Speaker 3: wanting him to take them. So it'll be interesting to
- 29:35Speaker 3: me to see how they do when they're a playing.
- 29:39Speaker 5: A less mobile quarterback where the teams.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Are not so focused on let's not get this guy
- 29:47Speaker 3: in bad situation, ory're playing in a normal offense with
- 29:50Speaker 3: a lead. Then you might really see what this team
- 29:52Speaker 3: can do in terms of sacks.
- 29:53Speaker 2: A tough guy to sack comes into town this week
- 29:55Speaker 2: in Patrick Marley, Yes he does.
- 29:57Speaker 1: We'll have to see how things go with that. Stay
- 29:58Speaker 1: with us coming up after the can we go inside
- 30:00Speaker 1: the locker room? We hear it Don Peterson's postgame speech.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Jags fans, if you want customized Jaguars furniture for your home,

- 30:15Speaker 2: Hey you.
- 30:18Speaker 6: Hell yeah. One thing I know and I appreciate about
- 30:24Speaker 6: you guys. It's four quarters, man, it's four quarters, and
- 30:27Speaker 6: these games I don't care if they're division opponents or not.
- 30:31Speaker 7: You understand what we talk about.
- 30:32Speaker 6: You're learning and we learned last year, how to finish
- 30:36Speaker 6: and how to win games, how to go take games.
- 30:38Speaker 5: Okay, to and that's it. That's crucial right there. That's big.
- 30:42Speaker 6: That's big moving forward.
- 30:43Speaker 5: That's an AFC South game.
- 30:45Speaker 7: That's a win on the road, which we haven't done
- 30:47Speaker 7: in a while here, which is congratulations.
- 30:53Speaker 6: And guys, it took all three phases, did it not?
- 30:57Speaker 5: Eggs.
- 30:57Speaker 6: We had a great kickoff return, You need to take aways,
- 31:03Speaker 6: a goal line stop, and then offensively, offensively, we just
- 31:10Speaker 6: figured it out. We just stayed with the plan and
- 31:12Speaker 6: we just figured it out and we got.
- 31:13Speaker 5: In the ends of TJ.
- 31:15Speaker 6: Now, if I'm round to events, let's go from here.
- 31:20Speaker 7: Let's learn from it. Okay, let's learn from it. Let's
- 31:22Speaker 7: clean it up. I know it's weak one, but let's
- 31:23Speaker 7: clean up the mistakes. Let's get ready for a tough,
- 31:25Speaker 7: physical home football game next weekend. But before that, let's celebrate. Hey,
- 31:29Speaker 7: we gotta get one before we break it down? Ready, one,
- 31:31Speaker 7: two three, bring.
- 31:36Speaker 5: It right ring up, right up?
- 31:40Speaker 7: Great job, fellas, wait to find a way wan to
- 31:42Speaker 7: know we're on to the next, On to the next,
- 31:43Speaker 7: guys on three, one, two three.
- 31:48Speaker 4: When is a win?
- 31:48Speaker 1: The teams want to know Doug said in the middle
- 31:50Speaker 1: there they figured it out.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Wasn't what they.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Planned for, but they finished strong, and you know, sometimes
- 31:54Speaker 1: that's the way things get.
- 31:55Speaker 4: What are you, guys, bost looking forward to to see
- 31:57Speaker 4: out of them in week two? Is it consistency or
- 31:59Speaker 4: a little bit.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Of Well, it's the Chiefs, I mean, it's it's there's
- 32:03Speaker 3: there's some benchmark games. You know, I'm not gonna pick
- 32:07Speaker 3: this because we have all week. I'm not gonna say
- 32:10Speaker 3: that I have it as nailed as I did last
- 32:11Speaker 3: week's Brent, but you got through the you know, when
- 32:16Speaker 3: I covered with the Colts, Peyton Manning used to talk
- 32:17Speaker 3: all the time that when he was a rookie, Jim Moore,
- 32:21Speaker 3: of the coach who'd been around forever, emphasized with him,
- 32:24Speaker 3: it's really hard to win in this league. Don't take
- 32:27Speaker 3: these for granted. I'll bet Doug's had some hong the
- 32:31Speaker 3: lines to a couple of players yesterday because it's hard
- 32:34Speaker 3: to win. They won, they got through it, and now
- 32:37Speaker 3: you can sort of relaxed and play a game where
- 32:40Speaker 3: you measure yourself a little bit. But this team to
- 32:43Speaker 3: get to where it needs to go, they have to
- 32:45Speaker 3: win games this year consistently like the one they had yesterday,
- 32:49Speaker 3: and then knock off a few of the elites, and
- 32:51Speaker 3: then that'll put him in a situation where they can
- 32:53Speaker 3: play for seeding at the end of the season.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Any chance I get, I just continue to rave about
- 32:58Speaker 2: Doug Peterson. The job he's done second half of last
- 33:01Speaker 2: year into this year already, it's unbelievable and it shouldn't
- 33:04Speaker 2: be dismissed and it should never be taken for granted
- 33:06Speaker 2: because it's unreal how quick he's flipped this franchise, the mentality,
- 33:10Speaker 2: the expectations, and it's happened in Jacksonville like it is
- 33:13Speaker 2: happening right in front of us, like everything you want
- 33:16Speaker 2: to happen, the growth of the quarterback, the franchise quarterback,
- 33:19Speaker 2: this team believes they're good, and this place is going
- 33:22Speaker 2: to be rocking on Sunday, sold out crowd, everything. I
- 33:26Speaker 2: don't know who it's bigger for Doug, Trevor the fans. Yeah,
- 33:32Speaker 2: but you have a chance now to go to two
- 33:34Speaker 2: and zero. Case he would be going too, So all
- 33:37Speaker 2: those things that you're talking about.
- 33:38Speaker 3: It actually got a two and a half game leader.
- 33:40Speaker 3: The thing champs. If you win this one, it's big
- 33:43Speaker 3: on that front, Dug. To your point, this feels Brent
- 33:48Speaker 3: for the first time since you and I have been
- 33:50Speaker 3: around it together for twelve years. It feels like an
- 33:54Speaker 3: established franchise. He to me is the biggest reason that's true.
- 34:01Speaker 1: It's a lot easier to go with the flow when
- 34:02Speaker 1: you're happy with the captain of the ship, at least
- 34:04Speaker 1: in my experience. So dougle lead the way as we
- 34:07Speaker 1: get ready for Chiefs Week coming up.
- 34:09Speaker 4: We're happy we're one to zero going into week two.
- 34:11Speaker 4: See on Jags. I am here on Wednesday.
