• 1:53
Speaker 3: step closer to the weekend. That is always good. We're
• 1:55
Speaker 3: also everybody's there's a lot of excitement around the world
• 1:58
Speaker 3: of college football right now because it's just that time
• 2:01
Speaker 3: of year, you know, and I know there's a new
• 2:03
Speaker 3: era in Morgantown, a new older era in Morgantown. With
• 2:06
Speaker 3: coach Rod. We are going to spend some time here
• 2:08
Speaker 3: momentarily talking to Eric Arnold from the WU Alumni Association
• 2:12
Speaker 3: of the Greater Kanaw Valley. They've got a big event
• 2:14
Speaker 3: coming up this weekend, so we're going to talk to
• 2:15
Speaker 3: them about that. Speaking of big events, multi Fast getting
• 2:18
Speaker 3: underway later today in Charleston, and we'll talk to tomorrow
• 2:21
Speaker 3: Ebanks about that. And I've just been informed that we're
• 2:25
Speaker 3: going to be invaded at around nine forty this morning
• 2:28
Speaker 3: by those animals from the Mountain, one of them whose
• 2:30
Speaker 3: name is Steve Animal and the other is Shockley. The Mountain,
• 2:34
Speaker 3: our sister stations entered into a partnership with the folks
• 2:37
Speaker 3: at five Street. Brewer, you know all about Animal Ale.
• 2:40
Speaker 3: Well it's going to be a little bit more than
• 2:42
Speaker 3: that because the first and third Thursdays of the month,
• 2:46
Speaker 3: we're going to be we meaning the Mountain, will be
• 2:48
Speaker 3: broadcasting live from five Street. And so Animal and Shockley
• 2:52
Speaker 3: informed me earlier that they are coming on my show today.
• 2:55
Speaker 3: That's exactly the way they put it. They said, we're
• 2:57
Speaker 3: coming down on your show today to talk about it.
• 2:59
Speaker 3: So I said, okay, it's I'm the host, but okay,
• 3:01
Speaker 3: you knock yourself out. So we'll talk about that plus
• 3:04
Speaker 3: some other things in the news, and of course you
• 3:06
Speaker 3: are text and phone calls are always welcome. Big Lea

• 3:16
Speaker 3: the afore mentioned Eric Arnold for the WVU Alumni Association
• 3:20
Speaker 3: of the Greater Kanall Valley. Good morning, Welcome to the show,
• 3:22
  Speaker 3: sir may.
• 3:24
Speaker 4: Thanks, it's a pleasures always. It sounds like you have
• 3:27
Speaker 4: all the mysscreenson you're sharing this for.
• 3:31
Speaker 3: Well now I'm going to say we don't have all because,
• 3:34
Speaker 3: with all due respect to I'm not going to put
• 3:36
Speaker 3: tomorrow U Banks from multifest in there, Okay, but yeah,
• 3:39
Speaker 3: with you and with Animal and Shockley, yeah we got
• 3:41
Speaker 3: the miscreants for sure, but not tomorrow. Okay, let's just
• 3:44
Speaker 3: make that distinction absolutely all right, So mentioned this earlier
• 3:49
Speaker 3: and we'll get to your event. But I want to
• 3:50
Speaker 3: talk a little Mountaineer football with you.
• 3:53
  Speaker 5: Eric.
• 3:54
Speaker 3: It's a new era in Morgantown, but it's also an
• 3:57
Speaker 3: old era. How you feel it about coach.
• 3:59
Speaker 4: Ron well, you know, I was friskly to work for
• 4:03
Speaker 4: rivals dot com recruiting website during the time coach rod
• 4:08
Speaker 4: was there, and uh, you know, from what I hear,
• 4:13
Speaker 4: there is a higher amount of personal accountability, but it's
• 4:17
Speaker 4: showing up in practicing on the field. And I think,
• 4:21
Speaker 4: you know, as a lawyer, I'm very interested in the
• 4:27
Speaker 4: university is doing on behalf of for very imputant players,
• 4:32
Speaker 4: which a lot of places are doing that will be
• 4:36
Speaker 4: immediate contributors. And Rich Rodrick is that he is absolutely
• 4:41
Speaker 4: on board with that. But if you listen to him
• 4:45
Speaker 4: on the prins Coffer, he is very critical of some
• 4:49
Speaker 4: of the efforts and physicality of the team, and I
• 4:54
  Speaker 4: think that's a direct contrast. There's a message from last
• 4:57
Speaker 4: year as sure as techno then the friend wasn't drinking
• 5:01
Speaker 4: at arth Ceast on the podium like Rich was yesterday.
• 5:05
Speaker 3: You gotta love it a coach of drink and RC
• 5:08
Speaker 3: right talking to Eric Arnold. Uh yeah, And he's called
• 5:11
Speaker 3: out a couple of the players, actually several of them
• 5:14
Speaker 3: as a team for being soft, and he's done that
• 5:17
Speaker 3: on more than one occasion. And about young people, these
• 5:19
Speaker 3: young kids today, that sounds like me actually saying things
• 5:22
Speaker 3: like that, what you take on all that? And now
• 5:24
Speaker 3: promise we'll get to your event. What's you take on that?
• 5:26
Speaker 3: Calling calling his player soft well, I.
• 5:29
Speaker 4: Speaking to initial process. So he then reached the person.
• 5:33
Speaker 4: He's always available. He's always accessible to his players on
• 5:37
Speaker 4: a one on one basis, but he has a very
• 5:40
Speaker 4: high standard and he has one that you know they
• 5:45
Speaker 4: used to say match the mountains. Well, the mountain for
• 5:49
Speaker 4: rich Rodriguez is beyond howksfest. It's effort. So he's kind
• 5:53
Speaker 4: of running the laschool hell again. But from what I hear,
• 5:57
Speaker 4: they're catching into the concepts of the hog set a
• 6:01
Speaker 4: lot better. He likes having left the quarterbacks like Niko
• 6:06
Speaker 4: Mahrischell and Jaden Henderson, who are the top two competitors
• 6:10
Speaker 4: for the position, and that's going to allow him to
• 6:13
Speaker 4: open up the offense because the reads are a little different.
• 6:17
Speaker 4: So he's quietly excited. I think the problem more so
• 6:21
Speaker 4: may be a depth issue. Wh'll figure that out quickly.
• 6:25
Speaker 4: If you all please do.
• 6:26
Speaker 3: Again, We'll talk with Eric Carnoll to Dave Allen. Showing
• 6:28
Speaker 3: five Any Live is brought to you in part by Meeks,
• 6:30
Speaker 3: Rentols and Leasing offering stress free property management for both
• 6:33
Speaker 3: renders and property owners is the Meeks Rentals dot Com. Right,
• 6:35
Speaker 3: let's talk about this big event that you got going on.
• 6:38
Speaker 4: It's at the Bucket, right, Yes, Yes, the Mucket down
• 6:41
Speaker 4: Intent Thunbar forty thirty Washington Street Plank. We're doing our
• 6:47
Speaker 4: first you know, it's what privileged and orders. He's ahead
• 6:51
Speaker 4: of the wv alumni as a greater fall, but a
• 6:56
Speaker 4: lot of times he just the sports events, which the
• 6:59
Speaker 4: new president, Michael Benson coming in and maybe having a
• 7:02
Speaker 4: little more backing. We're doing our first annual with the
• 7:07
Speaker 4: WVU Parents Club. Summers sent off. So if you as
• 7:11
Speaker 4: a family or you as a student are going to
• 7:15
Speaker 4: WFU for a first time more you're going back join
• 7:21
Speaker 4: us from four to six at the Bucket, and then
• 7:24
Speaker 4: if you come early you'll be able to have a
• 7:27
Speaker 4: free ticket to Ryan Waters and Lily Gray, two concerts
• 7:32
Speaker 4: that night at the Bucket. Ryan Wathers at two hundred
• 7:35
Speaker 4: and twenty nine followers, thousands followers on Instagram. They're great
• 7:41
Speaker 4: ass and it's a great venue it's never been. If
• 7:45
Speaker 4: you have students, you'll be able to win Raffle prizes,
• 7:49
Speaker 4: including a couple two hundred dollars gift cards to Mars
• 7:53
Speaker 4: and Noville. I know you can either use this at
• 7:55
Speaker 4: the bookstore, is selling from beer on High Street, not
• 7:59
Speaker 4: that I've ever done it. Yeah, but we're excited to
• 8:04
Speaker 4: do something a little different than a game rot and
• 8:07
Speaker 4: maybe have this to be one of our temple events.
• 8:09
Speaker 4: You know, we're involved in notting jerks fight out, some
• 8:12
Speaker 4: other events around the valley you'll be hearing about, and
• 8:16
Speaker 4: then during the fall we'll have game rotters here and there.
• 8:19
Speaker 4: But it's excited to do something for the students their
• 8:23
Speaker 4: families that isn't totally sports related. And well we'll even
• 8:28
Speaker 4: have an event for high school seniors coming up this
• 8:31
Speaker 4: fall that it's excited to have. We're backing from WVU,
• 8:36
Speaker 4: from the Alumni Association and Doom.
• 8:40
  Speaker 6: We're with that.
• 8:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, and Eric, I like the fact that you mentioned this.
• 8:43
Speaker 3: I like the fact that because when you think of
• 8:45
Speaker 3: things like this, you do think sports. And I'm a
• 8:46
Speaker 3: sports fanatic, you're a sports fanatic. I get that, but
• 8:49
Speaker 3: sometimes it's it's good to do things that don't necessarily
• 8:52
Speaker 3: revolve around sports. And you're offering this up for this
• 8:55
Speaker 3: kickoff or I mean, you know, it's gathering that you're
• 8:59
Speaker 3: going to have for the parents that get students going
• 9:01
Speaker 3: off the WV for the students themselves. So it's going
• 9:03
Speaker 3: to be a really really good time.
• 9:05
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 9:06
Speaker 4: Absolutely, it's a twenty dollar ticket, but if you shove
• 9:10
Speaker 4: up between four and six and have some WV relations
• 9:15
Speaker 4: with a family member or a dear friend, you'll be
• 9:18
Speaker 4: able to stay there for free for the concerts. And
• 9:21
Speaker 4: then also the big thing is if you bring some
• 9:24
Speaker 4: new ads, new suits or barry some blankets, which is
• 9:30
Speaker 4: a WV initiative, there's some stuffed animals or blankets, you'll
• 9:35
Speaker 4: get a free free cor appetizer. So you know, we're
• 9:39
Speaker 4: trying to do that, raise them awareness for these other things,
• 9:42
Speaker 4: but mainly have a good time. And you know Multifest
• 9:45
Speaker 4: is a great event, gave asson bullying, the former players,
• 9:50
Speaker 4: having a giveaway at Oakfield that morning around noon for
• 9:56
Speaker 4: some kids. So you know, there's a lot of stuff
• 9:58
Speaker 4: going around in Charleston and the more the mary.
• 10:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we got a big event going on Saturday,
• 10:05
Speaker 3: and we'll talk about a little bit later on at
• 10:07
Speaker 3: Trojan Landing. Uh and those folks are going to join
• 10:09
Speaker 3: us in studio tomorrow plus tomorrow I want to talk
• 10:12
Speaker 3: about the Kenaw Trust Humane Association. They are annual Kegs
• 10:15
Speaker 3: for Canines events and going on at the Red Carpet
• 10:17
Speaker 3: and that's going to be on Saturday of the Mountain.
• 10:19
Speaker 3: Steve and I will be out there for that. So
• 10:21
Speaker 3: we're looking looking forward to all these big things. Uh.
• 10:23
Speaker 3: And a big shout out going back to your event, THO,
• 10:25
Speaker 3: very big shout out to Chris and the folks at
• 10:26
Speaker 3: the Bucket because they they love they love getting people
• 10:29
Speaker 3: out there. Of course they got some of the best
• 10:31
Speaker 3: food and drink specials around.
• 10:33
  Speaker 4: Uh.
• 10:34
Speaker 3: I am particularly fond of well several things there. The
• 10:38
Speaker 3: pepperoni role is probably is my favorite thing there.
• 10:40
  Speaker 5: Uh.
• 10:41
Speaker 3: But uh, it's a great if you, like you said,
• 10:43
Speaker 3: if you've never been out there to the Bucket, it's
• 10:45
Speaker 3: a great opportunity for you to come out there and
• 10:47
Speaker 3: hang out with Chris and the folks there, but also
• 10:49
Speaker 3: uh to show your pride in West Virginia University and
• 10:52
Speaker 3: uh and to help out to people. It's all for
• 10:55
Speaker 3: a good cause too.
• 10:56
Speaker 4: Yeah. And you know, just thinking about the man to
• 10:59
Speaker 4: say out an in venue, it looks like we're going
• 11:02
Speaker 4: to have great weather. But anyone that's shared up last
• 11:05
Speaker 4: year for our pick game watch that supported the Potter
• 11:09
Speaker 4: Maddox Potter and his foundation of family. That was a
• 11:12
  Speaker 4: tremendous event.
• 11:14
  Speaker 8: Chris.
• 11:14
Speaker 4: We'll be doing our backyard brawl Evan, as we always
• 11:17
Speaker 4: do each year before mountain ers fight out. That's the
• 11:20
Speaker 4: right carpet. But the main thing if you want to
• 11:23
Speaker 4: come or have any questions or we'd like to donate,
• 11:28

• 11:31

• 15:34
Speaker 12: Thank you so much for having us.
• 15:36
Speaker 3: Good to be here again. It's always pleasure to have you.
• 15:38
Speaker 3: Even though you're You're wearing the WVU stuff and I'm
• 15:42
Speaker 3: wearing the Marshall. So you're gonna have to be the
• 15:46
Speaker 3: there's a problem here tomorrow, you're gonna have to take
• 15:47
  Speaker 3: care of it.
• 15:48
  Speaker 14: Well, I'm deciding factor I'm Marshall because I'm like, I
• 15:51
  Speaker 14: graduated from Marshall.
• 15:52
Speaker 3: You know, here's the thing people don't understand. You can
• 15:54
  Speaker 3: support both.
• 15:55
  Speaker 12: That's sorry.
• 15:55
Speaker 3: Just the last segment was all about the WVU Alumni Association.
• 15:59
Speaker 3: You can support both.
• 16:00
Speaker 14: Miss Actually I do support I graduate from Marshall, but
• 16:03
Speaker 14: then I also work for WUS.
• 16:05
Speaker 15: So there you go.
• 16:06
Speaker 16: Well, you can't forget wes Virginia State University.
• 16:10
Speaker 3: I'm just saying West Virginia State and University of Charleston,
• 16:13
Speaker 3: and oh we've got we had a lot of fine
• 16:16
Speaker 3: institutions of higher learning, say West Virginia. All right, So
• 16:20
Speaker 3: multi Fest is going to kick off later today, So
• 16:22
Speaker 3: is that right? I want to start with this though,
• 16:25
Speaker 3: we'll get the I don't say controversial, but the semi controversy.
• 16:29
Speaker 3: There was some concern about this thing happening overall. Mister Friist,
• 16:32
Speaker 3: you want to you want to wait on that.
• 16:33
Speaker 16: Well, you know, multifest has This is our thirty fifth
• 16:36
Speaker 16: year and Multifests starts with a zero some budget. So
• 16:40
Speaker 16: every year we have to start from the very beginning.
• 16:43
Speaker 16: And this year, because some of the anti multiculturalism, anti
• 16:47
Speaker 16: DEI rhetoric, we were very concerned that some of the
• 16:53
Speaker 16: former sponsors were not sponsoring at the level that they
• 16:57
Speaker 16: had before. And in addition, there was some sponsors who
• 17:00
Speaker 16: did not participate this year. And so what we did
• 17:04
Speaker 16: that we made a plead to the public and we
• 17:07
Speaker 16: just really want to thank the community for coming through.
• 17:09
Speaker 16: The community came through in terms of making up what
• 17:13
Speaker 16: might have been a budget deficit.
• 17:15
Speaker 3: Yes, good tomorrow, you're dying to say something, Go ahead.
• 17:18
Speaker 14: No, I'm dis agreeing with him because you know, we,
• 17:22
Speaker 14: as he said, we it looked a little bleak at first.
• 17:24
Speaker 14: But you know, Pastor Price and you know mentioned that
• 17:27
Speaker 14: we did a plea to the community and without their communities,
• 17:31
Speaker 14: without the community support financially and in kind services, we
• 17:36
Speaker 14: wouldn't have the greatest lineup that we've ever had this year.
• 17:39
Speaker 3: And you talk about the community support, and again, events
• 17:42
Speaker 3: like this, as you will both well know, are not
• 17:44
Speaker 3: possible without the community. And I mean the corporate sponsorship
• 17:48
Speaker 3: is a big part of it. But nobody shows up,
• 17:50
Speaker 3: it doesn't really matter at the end of the day.
• 17:52
Speaker 3: And that's just that's kind of what Charleston and the
• 17:54
Speaker 3: surrounding areas and all the Westervininia what we do. We
• 17:56
Speaker 3: show up when it comes to things.
• 17:58
  Speaker 16: Mitch Friesen, Well, that's what that's that's that's what this
• 18:01
Speaker 16: festival really is all about because it came out of
• 18:03
Speaker 16: the controversy of the lack of inclusion thirty five years ago,
• 18:07
Speaker 16: and so over these thirty five years, Multifest has stood
• 18:10
Speaker 16: for the for the principle that we are better together
• 18:13
Speaker 16: than we are separated.
• 18:15
Speaker 3: Yeah, and let's I mean when you talk about how
• 18:18
Speaker 3: it started, because you's thirty five years ago and there
• 18:20
Speaker 3: were some folks that felt that maybe because of Regatta
• 18:22
Speaker 3: or whatever, that they it really wasn't a lot for them.
• 18:25
Speaker 3: They weren't included, and this thing started and now we
• 18:27
Speaker 3: got both events and Regatta's back again. So now you
• 18:30
Speaker 3: got both of these huge summertime events and everybody's kind
• 18:34
Speaker 3: of mingling, you know, everybody supporting everybody. That's that's what
• 18:36
Speaker 3: this thing's all about.
• 18:37
Speaker 16: Well, it's a win win for the Kanal Valley and
• 18:39
Speaker 16: for the state of West Virginia because what we need
• 18:42
Speaker 16: to do in the state is to increase our tourism.
• 18:46
Speaker 16: And so with this being the capital city, the fact
• 18:48
Speaker 16: that we have these things throughout the summer regatta multifests
• 18:53
  Speaker 16: of Vandelia, it.
• 18:54
Speaker 3: Really Summerfest is going to be next week in summer
• 18:56
  Speaker 3: Charleston down.
• 18:57
Speaker 16: And it really makes the Kanal Valleys as well.
• 19:01
Speaker 3: We should be all right, and you talked about the biggest,
• 19:03
Speaker 3: the best, this is one of this is what this
• 19:05
Speaker 3: you think? This is probably the best one we've ever
• 19:07
  Speaker 3: put together.
• 19:08
Speaker 12: Every year we say is the best, Well that's what
• 19:10
Speaker 12: you should that's every.
• 19:11
Speaker 14: Year because we try to bring some new things to
• 19:14
Speaker 14: the to the festival. And I can say starting today
• 19:17
Speaker 14: at four thirty, the first ever in thirty five years,
• 19:20
Speaker 14: Multifest will have a multicultural parade. And so we're going
• 19:24
Speaker 14: to start that off at four thirty and you know,
• 19:26
Speaker 14: then kick it off with our opening ceremony.
• 19:28
Speaker 12: This is going to be huge, not only.
• 19:31
Speaker 14: That with the parade, we're going to have Native American
• 19:34
Speaker 14: dances from the West Coast. And we're so excited about
• 19:38
Speaker 14: the new things that are going to be be taking
• 19:41
Speaker 14: place here this weekend.
• 19:42
Speaker 3: Indeed, we're talking about multifest to Dave Island showing five
• 19:45
Speaker 3: eighty Live is brought to you in part by Husband's Pizza.
• 19:47
Speaker 3: This month that your favorite Hustan's get a large at
• 19:49
Speaker 3: Nitch Pepperoni pizza and a big eight inch chocolate chip
• 19:52
Speaker 3: cookie for twenty three ninety nine dined in carry out
• 19:54
Speaker 3: or order delivery by finding your closest Hustans at Hustinspizza
• 19:57
Speaker 3: dot com. Anytime you talk about these events, guys, people
• 20:01
Speaker 3: want to talk about the music, So you want to
• 20:03
Speaker 3: one of you want to run down to me because
• 20:04
Speaker 3: you got a quite an impressive music lineup.
• 20:06
Speaker 14: We absolutely do. On Tonight is our go Go Nights.
• 20:09
Speaker 14: We have a go go band all the way from Washington,
• 20:13
Speaker 14: d C. Called Junk Yard Band. That's our headliner tonight.
• 20:17
Speaker 14: On Tomorrow night, our headliner is going to be Christopher
• 20:20
Speaker 14: Williams and Troop R and B musical group. On Saturday,
• 20:24
Speaker 14: our headliner is going to be DJ Cool as well
• 20:27
Speaker 14: as r s VP and that stands for Ray J, Sammy,
• 20:31
Speaker 14: Bobby V and Pleasure P. Sunday we have gospel artists
• 20:36
Speaker 14: Erl Binam and Asan buying them coming from Washington, d C.
• 20:39
Speaker 14: And the gospel quartet group Virginia Ayres. And then on
• 20:43
Speaker 14: Sunday night before we close out, we're gonna have Mike Jones,
• 20:46
Speaker 14: our Hip Hop Era and then Zap will close it
• 20:50
Speaker 14: out and then that the final finale would be a
• 20:53
Speaker 14: great fireworks show that we're going to have. But we
• 20:56
Speaker 14: also want to give great thanks to Arts Amplified, who
• 21:00
Speaker 14: the local grant source here, who allowed who, who's sponsoring
• 21:05
Speaker 14: some of our local artists, and so we want to
• 21:07
Speaker 14: give a big shout out to them for stepping up.
• 21:10
Speaker 14: As you said, you know, the community really came through,
• 21:12
Speaker 14: and this is one that stepped up to say that
• 21:14
Speaker 14: they wanted to support us and support our local artists.
• 21:17
Speaker 14: So we want to thank them as well.
• 21:20
Speaker 16: Anytime you have something new, though, you know, it's a
• 21:23
Speaker 16: it's a new traffic that we have, and so we
• 21:27
Speaker 16: really want to stress Thursday. We really want to stress
• 21:30
Speaker 16: this afternoon in terms of that parade, and then the
• 21:34
Speaker 16: Native American dancers because this is something we've really never
• 21:37
Speaker 16: done before, and we would really like for the community
• 21:39
Speaker 16: to come out see these young kids walking in the parade,
• 21:43
Speaker 16: but also to see these Native American dancers that I
• 21:45
Speaker 16: think will bring a we'll bring a true multiculturalism to
• 21:49
Speaker 16: the to the to the event.
• 21:51
Speaker 3: I want to talk about the parade because you know,
• 21:53
Speaker 3: that's around the time that people are starting to get
• 21:54
Speaker 3: off work in Charleston and things of that nature. So
• 21:56
Speaker 3: anything they should know as far as like what time
• 21:59
Speaker 3: is the line up and what's it going to affect
• 22:01
Speaker 3: traffic wise, you know any Sure the City of Charleston's
• 22:03
Speaker 3: got information out about that, but you guys want to
• 22:05
Speaker 3: touch on that from one.
• 22:06
Speaker 14: Yeah, just quickly, it's not going to affect the traffic
• 22:09
Speaker 14: because we're already blocked off on Virginia Street between Virginia
• 22:13
Speaker 14: and the Boulevard. We're going to line up on Court Street,
• 22:15
Speaker 14: and so that's already part of multifest layout. So we're
• 22:19
Speaker 14: gonna line up there at four o'clock and then step
• 22:22
Speaker 14: off at four point thirty. We're gonna make a left
• 22:24
Speaker 14: on the Canar Boulevard, go right through the entire festival,
• 22:27
Speaker 14: and then end up down at the showing bomb stage
• 22:30
  Speaker 14: on the.
• 22:30
Speaker 3: River, and anytime we talk about these summertime events, everybody
• 22:34
Speaker 3: automatically goes to the music and the food. Those are
• 22:38
Speaker 3: always big parts of it, but there's a lot more
• 22:40
Speaker 3: going on there than just music and food. Talk about
• 22:41
Speaker 3: some of the other things.
• 22:42
Speaker 14: Absolutely, we are in the process even now, loading in
• 22:47
Speaker 14: over fifty vendors from arts and craft to different ethnic
• 22:52
Speaker 14: food industry, to information, and then we're also going to
• 22:57
Speaker 14: have a very very large kid zone. Kid Zone is
• 23:01
Speaker 14: going to have bump of cars, all kind of inflatables,
• 23:04
Speaker 14: a dunking tank, games, just all sorts of things for
• 23:09
Speaker 14: our kids, and that's going to be the entire weekend
• 23:11
Speaker 14: starting today. We're also partnered with Attorney Frank Walker, so
• 23:15
Speaker 14: today we're going to be giving out backpacks on his
• 23:18
Speaker 14: behalf and we appreciate his support on that to all
• 23:22
Speaker 14: the students that are getting ready to go back to school.
• 23:24
Speaker 14: So again, you know, the whole weekend is going to
• 23:26
Speaker 14: be fun for everyone, exciting for everyone, So we want
• 23:29
Speaker 14: to make sure that you do come out. Starting today,
• 23:31
Speaker 14: As he said, the parade is going to kick it off,
• 23:33
Speaker 14: and that's something you don't want to miss.
• 23:35
Speaker 3: Why is it important, mister Fischen. I'll go to you
• 23:38
Speaker 3: on this. Why is it important that young people being
• 23:40
  Speaker 3: involved in this?
• 23:41
Speaker 16: Well, not only because young people are our future, but
• 23:45
Speaker 16: also we want to keep young people in the state.
• 23:48
Speaker 16: And one of the things that we've had is a
• 23:49
Speaker 16: lot of out my migration because people say that there's
• 23:52
Speaker 16: not enough to do for young people. And so when
• 23:55
Speaker 16: you have something like Multifest that is really for the
• 23:58
Speaker 16: across the specter generational, I think it's important for it
• 24:01
Speaker 16: for everyone to come out and then when young people
• 24:04
Speaker 16: do things, for older people to come out and support them.
• 24:07
Speaker 16: And so that's one of the reasons that we added this,
• 24:10
Speaker 16: uh this this parade because we want young people intimately
• 24:15
  Speaker 16: involved with Multifest.
• 24:16
Speaker 14: If I can add is you know, one of the
• 24:19
Speaker 14: things I always say is that first of all the
• 24:22
Speaker 14: events and that concerts are free and open to the public,
• 24:25
Speaker 14: and so you come and experience things that you may
• 24:28
Speaker 14: not experience because you may not have the financial needs.
• 24:32
Speaker 12: But Multifest is free and open to the public.
• 24:34
Speaker 14: You're gonna get top national artists, regional artists free that
• 24:38
Speaker 14: you can just come and enjoy yourself.
• 24:41
Speaker 3: I mean, that's a big part of it right there too.
• 24:42
Speaker 3: I mean, you know, I mean, you're gonna pay if
• 24:44
Speaker 3: one of these acts comes to you know, I'll say
• 24:47
Speaker 3: the coliseum or the Clay Center or whatever, you're gonna
• 24:50
Speaker 3: with all the respect to them, you're gonna pay big Box. Absolutely,
• 24:52
Speaker 3: So this is absolutely this is absolutely free. And talk
• 24:55
Speaker 3: about the importance, guys of it's called Multifest for a reason.
• 25:01
Speaker 3: Talk about the importance of everybody attending this.
• 25:03
Speaker 16: Thing well, And that's one of the things that we
• 25:05
Speaker 16: really want to stress because Multifest is not just for
• 25:08
Speaker 16: one group. It really is. This idea of multiculturalism means
• 25:12
Speaker 16: that everyone is involved, and so we try to pick acts.
• 25:16
Speaker 16: For instance, this year, in terms of our local acts,
• 25:19
Speaker 16: we have Stratus that people know, but we also have
• 25:21
Speaker 16: the Esquires, and the Esquires goes back into the sit
• 25:24
Speaker 16: in the nineteen sixties in terms of providing entertainment. So
• 25:30
Speaker 16: we very strategically try to make sure that there is
• 25:33
Speaker 16: something for everyone. And as you said, multiculturalism, multicultural festival,
• 25:38
Speaker 16: Multifest means that we want everyone to come and be involved.
• 25:42
Speaker 3: And I think you know, again, I'm not trying to
• 25:45
Speaker 3: turn this into a political thing. I'm always open for that.
• 25:49
Speaker 3: I'm very well aware, sir. By the way, last time
• 25:52
Speaker 3: you were on the show, I gave you an invite.
• 25:54
Speaker 3: I said, you need to come on the show more often,
• 25:57
Speaker 3: and you've failed to do that. And you know, we
• 26:00
Speaker 3: have the afternoon show now that from noon to three
• 26:03
Speaker 3: with Amanda Baron and myself. You always look them there
• 26:05
  Speaker 3: as well too.
• 26:05
Speaker 16: For the past seventeen months up until the end of May,
• 26:08
Speaker 16: I've been in Connecticut doing this and has nothing to
• 26:11
Speaker 16: do with me doing an interim vice presidency. At point
• 26:14
Speaker 16: of p did you I didn't know if you re so.
• 26:18
Speaker 16: I never get in fights with the media until I'm
• 26:21
Speaker 16: actually doing the show and.
• 26:23
Speaker 3: Then afterwards afterwards. And you know how much I love
• 26:26
Speaker 3: the term the media because people, you know, so they
• 26:28
Speaker 3: they think when they say the media, that there's some
• 26:31
Speaker 3: big building downtown it's called the media, that we all
• 26:34
Speaker 3: we all get together. But as I said as we
• 26:36
Speaker 3: started the segment, there they're seems there, they're like it,
• 26:39
Speaker 3: you know, right or wrong whatever, there seemed to be
• 26:44
Speaker 3: within the within the current landscape that we we have
• 26:48
Speaker 3: closed our minds a little bit in my opinion, And
• 26:51
Speaker 3: I'm somebody that I'm somebody that leans conservative, but I
• 26:54
Speaker 3: can recognize a problem when I see one, and it says,
• 26:58
Speaker 3: and it seems to me that we have kind of
• 27:00
Speaker 3: shut the door on some of these things, and I
• 27:02
  Speaker 3: think that's unfortunate.
• 27:03
Speaker 16: Well, it's interesting because in the sixties, when we were
• 27:06
Speaker 16: really stratified, it was the music of young people that
• 27:10
Speaker 16: brought this country together. And so we think a multicultural
• 27:14
Speaker 16: event will be something that's beyond politics, and so you
• 27:18
Speaker 16: can meet people where they are, and I think that
• 27:21
Speaker 16: will help us, especially as stratified as we are right now.
• 27:24
Speaker 3: I can go back and you and I could sit
• 27:26
Speaker 3: and talk music forever, because you know, there was a
• 27:29
Speaker 3: time in this country where if you know, white people
• 27:32
Speaker 3: listen to this and black people, Well, when Motown came out,
• 27:36
Speaker 3: it changed all that. It changed all that. And even
• 27:39
Speaker 3: though I'm not necessarily a disco fan, disco just I
• 27:42
Speaker 3: mean blew it all to pieces because she had a
• 27:45
Speaker 3: group that like just played at regotted Casey in the
• 27:47
Speaker 3: Sunshine Band, where you had black, you had white, you
• 27:50
Speaker 3: had Latino, and it was all about the music. Nobody
• 27:52
Speaker 3: really cared what color of your skin was.
• 27:54
Speaker 14: It was about the music, right and ifact just you know,
• 27:58
Speaker 14: we talked about multi culture.
• 27:59
Speaker 12: We we are going to.
• 28:00
Speaker 14: Have a Southern soul recording artists with us on Saturday.
• 28:05
Speaker 14: He is a Caucasian guy, but he sings Southern soul
• 28:08
Speaker 14: and you're going to be amazed at the music that
• 28:11
Speaker 14: he brings to us. So it's for everyone. When we
• 28:14
Speaker 14: say multicultural, we're looking to have various cultures there and
• 28:18
Speaker 14: when they're invited to come. And again, I cannot stress
• 28:22
Speaker 14: enough it's open and free to the public.
• 28:25
Speaker 3: All right, before we close, let's run down the schedule again.
• 28:28
Speaker 3: Go ahead and start with the parade.
• 28:29
Speaker 14: Today Thursday, August seventh, kicks off our parade at four
• 28:32
Speaker 14: thirty and then our opening ceremony at five. Then we
• 28:36
Speaker 14: will continue on with our local acts with Stratus as
• 28:40
Speaker 14: well as the Unit Band and then Junkyard Band. Tonight
• 28:43
Speaker 14: tomorrow we'll be starting with our local band. It's our
• 28:47
Speaker 14: female night, it's all ladies night, and we're starting without
• 28:51
Speaker 14: some of our local artists, and then we're going on
• 28:53
Speaker 14: to Christopher Williams and then Troop and then on Saturday again,
• 28:58
Speaker 14: we're going to have X Squire to kick it off
• 29:01
Speaker 14: all the way up until we get to DJ Cool
• 29:04
Speaker 14: and then our headline is going to be RSVP. Sunday's
• 29:07
Speaker 14: all Gospel from twelve thirty with the Community Wide Service
• 29:11
Speaker 14: with the Pastor Wanda Shelton preaching, and then our gospel
• 29:15
Speaker 14: music going all the way to four thirty with the
• 29:17
Speaker 14: Virginia Airs. Then Sunday night is our hip hop night

• 32:49
Speaker 3: out to eat seven A Mountain for a moment. Big
• 32:51
Speaker 3: event tonight happening over at five Street Brewery in Summer
• 32:54
Speaker 3: Street at Charleston. Actually going to be a series of
• 32:56
Speaker 3: things going on at five Street as we are kind
• 32:58
Speaker 3: of referring to it as our weekend care off of sorts.
• 33:01
Speaker 3: We will be broadcasting live we meaning the Mountain from
• 33:04
Speaker 3: there the first and third Thursdays of every month. Here
• 33:07
Speaker 3: to talk about it now from the Mountain is the
• 33:10
Speaker 3: semi legendary Steve Animal how you doing.
• 33:12
Speaker 18: Man, I'm having a large day about yourself.
• 33:17
Speaker 3: I am doing well. I mean, you know, I just
• 33:19
Speaker 3: had to folks for multifest on and you know they
• 33:22
Speaker 3: got multi Fest kicks off today. You got the event
• 33:25
Speaker 3: going on at FIVEE Street. The Alumni Association of Greater
• 33:29
Speaker 3: Canaws got their big event at the Bucket on Saturday.
• 33:32
Speaker 3: You and I and others from the company, we are
• 33:36
Speaker 3: going to be a part of the Yeah over Trojan Landing.
• 33:43
Speaker 3: I'll have the folks from Trojan Landing on the show tomorrow.
• 33:45
Speaker 3: We've got kegs for Canines going on. You and I
• 33:47
Speaker 3: will both be there for that. So there are a
• 33:49
Speaker 3: lot of things going on. But talk about this partnership
• 33:52
Speaker 3: with the Fife Street that we've got starting this evening.
• 33:54
Speaker 18: Yeah, So a few months back, we had the brainchild
• 33:58
Speaker 18: to create I like beer, how about we do animal
• 34:06
Speaker 18: Ale in conjunction with the radio station, So ninety eight
• 34:09
Speaker 18: seven the Mountain, myself, Derek, John Doty, the rest of
• 34:13
Speaker 18: the crew at five Street, how about we create a beer.
• 34:17
Speaker 18: And we did and it was called Animal Ale. They're
• 34:20
Speaker 18: currently brewing more of it. It actually the first run
• 34:24
Speaker 18: keg blew out in sixteen minutes, a record for them.
• 34:29
Speaker 18: Then thereafter everything blew out over the next twenty four hours.
• 34:33
Speaker 18: So excited to be there our first and third thursdays
• 34:36
Speaker 18: of the month. The parties will now be there every month,
• 34:40
Speaker 18: so just put it on your calendar six o'clock you
• 34:42
Speaker 18: plan to join us. If you haven't been to Fife before,
• 34:45
Speaker 18: and a lot of people haven't, they have great sandwiches,
• 34:49
Speaker 18: my favorite being Buffalo Chicken dip or the Buffalo Chicken
• 34:53
  Speaker 18: grilled cheese sandwich.
• 34:54
  Speaker 3: I like food, I'm a fan.
• 34:57
Speaker 18: And they have the great outside seating area right across
• 35:00
Speaker 18: from Slack Plaza on Summer Street. If you haven't been
• 35:03
Speaker 18: there before, do not miss out on a great opportunity
• 35:06
Speaker 18: to come on out and join join us. Gonna be
• 35:08
  Speaker 18: a good one.
• 35:09
Speaker 3: You know, the animal al thing was kind of interesting
• 35:11
Speaker 3: because we launched that thing, and you know, I've never
• 35:14
Speaker 3: been part of a beer launching party before, and I've
• 35:17
Speaker 3: never known anyone that had a beer named down had
• 35:19
Speaker 3: a sandwich named after me once, but I've never had
• 35:21
Speaker 3: a beer named after me. And that event on that
• 35:23
Speaker 3: Friday night, I mean, you couldn't have gotten another person
• 35:26
Speaker 3: down there, and of course all the area outside it
• 35:29
Speaker 3: was it was a beautiful evening. Although it was hot,
• 35:30
Speaker 3: it was a very beautiful evening. Yes, and it was
• 35:33
Speaker 3: just it was just all it was just off the
• 35:35
Speaker 3: charts man, and all the all the beer's gone.
• 35:38
Speaker 18: It is, and they'll make more. That's the neat thing
• 35:40
Speaker 18: about beer. Fife Street can make more. And yeah, to
• 35:45
Speaker 18: be honored, recognized or somebody apparently I've arrived if I
• 35:52
Speaker 18: have a beer named after you, and and you know
• 35:56
Speaker 18: this thing with five Street, as we said, you're gonna
• 35:58
Speaker 18: be down there on the first and third Thursdays every month.
• 36:00
Speaker 3: It's kind of a way to just kick start the weekend.
• 36:03
Speaker 18: Right absolutely, I consider the weekend should start on Thursday anyway.
• 36:06
Speaker 3: So well some of us live it like it starts
• 36:08
Speaker 3: on Monday. So not to point any fingers, but they're
• 36:12
Speaker 3: going towards you don't look at me. Yeah, but but
• 36:15
Speaker 3: so we're looking forward to it again. We'll be down
• 36:16
Speaker 3: there on the first and third, including tonight, all kinds
• 36:19
Speaker 3: of giveaways and all the fun that comes whenever we
• 36:22
Speaker 3: we meaning the Mountain, which I'm also a part of
• 36:24
  Speaker 3: broadcast lot.
• 36:25
Speaker 18: Yes, and today is actually if you didn't know, National
• 36:28
Speaker 18: i PA Day and so they have those if you
• 36:31
Speaker 18: like those are a lighter fair. They have the Charleston Ale,
• 36:34
Speaker 18: which is pretty awesome and straight calls homie. I love
• 36:38
Speaker 18: the I love the names of these beers. So but
• 36:42
Speaker 18: Animal Ale is my favorite.
• 36:43
Speaker 3: Of course it is. You know, at that night, I
• 36:46
Speaker 3: didn't get any animal al Oh well, I mean because
• 36:50
Speaker 3: you know, there was a lounge long line, and I
• 36:52
Speaker 3: figure that you would take care of me on that
• 36:54
Speaker 3: and I wouldn't have to wait in line with everybody else,
• 36:57
Speaker 3: and I didn't want to take it away from our
• 36:59
Speaker 3: from the way line, and so I left there with
• 37:02
Speaker 3: not having any animal and I still haven't had any animals.
• 37:05
Speaker 18: You will when it's back.
• 37:06
Speaker 3: How do you how would you describe it to people?
• 37:08
Speaker 18: All right, so when we first met to sit down, Like,
• 37:11
Speaker 18: I like bud Light, Miller Lite, Quartz Light. However, I
• 37:14
Speaker 18: also like Sam Adams, I like fat tires, so they're
• 37:19
Speaker 18: a little bit heavier but not much, but like, is
• 37:21
Speaker 18: there a way to blend the two and get kind
• 37:23
Speaker 18: of a neat flavor from that? And they hit it
• 37:27
Speaker 18: on the head, so to the guys at five Street
• 37:30
Speaker 18: and girls, oh you guys.
• 37:31
Speaker 3: And we're hoping they'll have it back there soon.
• 37:34
Speaker 18: Yes, it's actually being brewed right now. It takes about
• 37:37
Speaker 18: six weeks courage batch, so they're doing a large batch
• 37:40
Speaker 18: and we're very excited about it.
• 37:42
Speaker 3: All right again, be sure and make plans to join
• 37:46
Speaker 3: us tonight. We'll start getting there about five thirty civil
• 37:50
Speaker 3: start at six. The Mountain is live on the air
• 37:53
Speaker 3: and you're holding up a shirt here.
• 37:54
Speaker 18: We have a new run of T shirts from East
• 37:57
Speaker 18: Coast Tease the Animal.
• 37:59
Speaker 3: Please please hold up up to the microphone so everyone
• 38:01
  Speaker 3: can see it.
• 38:01
  Speaker 18: I am.
• 38:04
Speaker 3: I don't think I have that one yet?
• 38:05
  Speaker 5: Do you not?
• 38:07
Speaker 3: Are they? Is that a new designs got Steve Animal on.
• 38:09
Speaker 18: The morning six to ten on the Mountain. If you don't,
• 38:13
Speaker 18: I know where our whole box of them.
• 38:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, I know the guy that makes them. I know
• 38:16
Speaker 3: the sweatshop they come from. All right, So all right,
• 38:20
Speaker 3: so we'll see you down there tonight. And then you
• 38:21
Speaker 3: and I have a busy, busy couple days because, as
• 38:24
Speaker 3: I said on Saturday, starting at about ten o'clock, we
• 38:28
Speaker 3: are going to be over Trojan Landing. We're giving away
• 38:30
Speaker 3: one thousand dollars and a brand new bike.
• 38:32
  Speaker 18: For Royal Landfield.
• 38:35
Speaker 3: It's all of our stations are taking part in that.
• 38:37
Speaker 3: So it's not just us, the Beat and CHS and
• 38:41
Speaker 3: you know all the stations will be there for that.
• 38:43
Speaker 3: And then Saturday afternoon you and I will be over
• 38:45
Speaker 3: at Kegs for canines at the rect Line.
• 38:47
Speaker 18: From Saturday afternoon till who knows when the red carpet.
• 38:53

Speaker 3: to get treated so poorly. All right, Steve, animal ladies
• 38:58
Speaker 3: and gentlemen, I appreciate you a stop by, and again
• 39:00
Speaker 3: we'll see you tonight at five Street. We'll start things
• 39:02
Speaker 3: down there at about six o'clock and plan on being
• 39:05
Speaker 3: there with us on the first and third Thursdays of

• 40:43
Speaker 3: Good morning. You're on the Show's Tommy Tommy. Okay, sorry,
• 40:47
Speaker 3: that's why. Okay, it's Tommy, not Kevin. Why do we
• 40:50
Speaker 3: get your name wrong every time you call?
• 40:54
Speaker 8: I don't know, all right, yeah, yes, First of all,
• 40:59
Speaker 8: it's very I'm kind to that gentleman animal. He's Steve
• 41:02
Speaker 8: zz And there's another mistake you've made in a couple
• 41:09
Speaker 8: of times in the past month. You're not alone, and
• 41:12
Speaker 8: it's not just you media guys. It's all over the society.
• 41:15
Speaker 8: Everybody's making the same mistake. You're identifying AI as artificial
• 41:22
Speaker 8: intelligence when in reality it's automatic idiot. I know because
• 41:30
Speaker 8: I just spent forty minutes largually none of it was
• 41:35
Speaker 8: waittime with a major bank on the phone going through
• 41:40
Speaker 8: their system to find out how to credit my credit
• 41:48
Speaker 8: card with the bonus points forty almost forty five minutes. Now,
• 41:56
Speaker 8: if that's not an automatic idiot in slow motion?
• 41:59
Speaker 3: What is they tell us though, Tommy that it's the
• 42:02
Speaker 3: future AI. I mean, it's taken over everything. I'm gonna
• 42:05
Speaker 3: I'm gonna just go ahead and go out on a
• 42:07
Speaker 3: limb here and say you're not a fan.
• 42:09
Speaker 8: I'm gonna. I'm gonna just say what I said to
• 42:15
Speaker 8: the phone on occasion just a few minutes ago, but
• 42:19
Speaker 8: every once in a while and over for the past
• 42:21
Speaker 8: several years, human being, and see if that does me
• 42:27
Speaker 8: any good. It doesn't tell me any good. And I
• 42:30
Speaker 8: feel bad for the young people, because you know, I
• 42:34
Speaker 8: don't have that much longer. They got to put up
• 42:37
Speaker 8: with it for decades into the future.
• 42:40
Speaker 3: All right, Hey, Tommy, apologize for getting your name wrong.
• 42:43
Speaker 3: But I appreciate the phone call. AI does not say
• 42:46
Speaker 3: for artificial intelligence, as you said, I appreciate you being here.
• 42:49
Speaker 3: Thanks a lot. We'll talk to sick. It is nine
• 42:52
Speaker 3: nine coming up on this show tomorrow. As I mentioned earlier,
• 42:56
Speaker 3: Angie Gildenwater from Gonnall trust me main associations here with
• 42:59
Speaker 3: this week's me please pet of the week of course,
• 43:01
Speaker 3: they're getting ready for Kegs for Canines, which is happening
• 43:04
Speaker 3: this Saturday afternoon at the Red Carpet Lounge. We'll get
• 43:08
Speaker 3: into that. Also, as I said, a big event with
• 43:11
Speaker 3: the folks of Trojan Landing happening on Saturday. We're teaming
• 43:13
Speaker 3: up with them to give away a brand new motorcycle
• 43:15
Speaker 3: and one hundred or I'm sorry, not one hundred, but
• 43:17
Speaker 3: I must went up to one hundred thousand dollars and
• 43:19
Speaker 3: the folks at Trojan Landing just drove off the road. No,
• 43:21
Speaker 3: I'm sorry, it's one thousand dollars in cash and that
• 43:24
Speaker 3: we are going to be given that away. All of
• 43:27
Speaker 3: our stations will be a part of that. And we've
• 43:29
Speaker 3: been registering for people for a couple of months now,
• 43:31
Speaker 3: Saturdays give away day. Our office staff here has been
• 43:34
Speaker 3: contacting people who are finalists. But we're going to let
• 43:36
Speaker 3: a limited number of people register that day, to a
• 43:40
Speaker 3: very limited number, and we'll just chew I mean most
• 43:43

• 47:27
Speaker 3: And again, I know that there were critics from day
• 47:32
Speaker 3: one about the vision for the Shawnee Sports Complex. You
• 47:36
Speaker 3: can't argue with the results though. I mean literally millions
• 47:41
Speaker 3: of dollars have come in because of that. And I
• 47:44
Speaker 3: think for people, again, I keep beating this proverbial dead horse,
• 47:48
Speaker 3: for people that don't think that travel sports is a
• 47:51
Speaker 3: huge industry and that people aren't coming to Charleston, West
• 47:54
Speaker 3: Virginia and the surrounding area. Throw Barbersville in there too.
• 47:58
Speaker 3: As Commissioner Selango to yesterday, during one tournament, there were
• 48:03
Speaker 3: no hotels available in a sixty mile radius of Charleston.
• 48:09
Speaker 3: Now think about that for a moment, within sixty miles
• 48:13
Speaker 3: of the Shawnee Sports Complex. There were no hotels available,
• 48:16
Speaker 3: all because of events that were going on. I think
• 48:19
Speaker 3: this was a combo event that was going on with
• 48:22
Speaker 3: Charleston or with Shawnee should say, and the folks in Barbersville.
• 48:27
Speaker 3: No hotels for a sixty mile radius. So tell me
• 48:30
Speaker 3: again why we don't need Hit me with that one
• 48:34
Speaker 3: more time. We don't need another hotel in Charleston. Hit
• 48:37
Speaker 3: me with that again. No hotels within a sixty mile radius.
• 48:41
Speaker 3: We desperately need a couple more hotels, not only in Charleston,
• 48:45
Speaker 3: but over in the surrounding areas. I mean, I live
• 48:47
Speaker 3: in Tays Valley. We've got a few over there. We
• 48:50
Speaker 3: need more. We need somebody to open up a hotel.
• 48:53

  Speaker 3: going on on.

Speaker 5: You're gonna open a hotel in the valley. You get

Speaker 5: in the Dave's Inn.
• 49:43
Speaker 3: I like that, Like that, see what you did?
• 49:45
  Speaker 21: Then?
• 49:45
  Speaker 9: Yeah?
• 49:46
Speaker 3: Yeah, uh, Dave's in dave Arms Hotel Dave. We're back
• 49:51
Speaker 3: in the and Pub. Yeah yeah, Well that's that's a given,
• 49:55
Speaker 3: all right. Uh So uh, I mean you have to understand,
• 49:58
Speaker 3: I mean, TJ. You're a numbers guy more than I am.
• 50:00
Speaker 3: I mean people that says nobody's going to come to
• 50:03
Speaker 3: Charleston to stay. Really, I mean, have you driven by
• 50:09
Speaker 3: the Shawnee Sports Combat And I'll tell you this story
• 50:11
Speaker 3: real quick. My wife reminded me I needed to tell
• 50:14
Speaker 3: this story. This past weekend, she and I went up
• 50:16
Speaker 3: to Easton the Columbus area of Ohio, and we're driving
• 50:20
Speaker 3: in town. I don't know exactly where we were. I
• 50:21
Speaker 3: just when we go somewhere, she just says, turn left,
• 50:24
Speaker 3: turn right, you know, I just you know, listen to her.
• 50:26
Speaker 3: So I don't know where we were. But we were
• 50:28
Speaker 3: in Ohio, somewhere near Columbus, and we drove by one
• 50:32
Speaker 3: of these multi field facilities. There had to be a
• 50:36
Speaker 3: thousand people out there with all these different games, because
• 50:39
Speaker 3: it just seemed like we just kept driving and Okay,
• 50:41
Speaker 3: there's another game. There's another game. There's another on down
• 50:44
Speaker 3: the line. And I said yesterday on the show back,
• 50:46
Speaker 3: you know, in my younger days, a sporting event, a
• 50:49
Speaker 3: road game was on the other end of the county. Yeah, no,
• 50:53
Speaker 3: Now a road game is in Detroit or something. Look,
• 50:56
Speaker 3: I think there's a need. You want to know why
• 50:58
Speaker 3: somebody wouldn't open a hotel. Well, I'll tell you the
• 51:02
  Speaker 3: hassle factor.
• 51:03
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, something like like a Holiday Inn or a
• 51:05
Speaker 5: Hampton in or something. A lot of those are franchises,
• 51:08
Speaker 5: and so you've got somebody that's got to put their
• 51:10
Speaker 5: capital to work. And if you take a look at
• 51:12
Speaker 5: what they can get just sticking it in the market,
• 51:14
Speaker 5: averaging eleven percent with no hassle of finding employees, running
• 51:18
Speaker 5: a business, taking care of all of that.
• 51:21
  Speaker 3: I mean, that's the biggest deal. Do I think there's
• 51:23
  Speaker 3: a need here?
• 51:23
Speaker 5: Yeah, I just think that there's easier ways to make
• 51:26
Speaker 5: a buck than being in the hotel business. But I
• 51:29
Speaker 5: would not argue that there's a need. I mean, like
• 51:31
Speaker 5: you said, I'd drive by Shawnee all the time. You
• 51:35
Speaker 5: drive by there on a Sunday morning on your way
• 51:36
Speaker 5: to church on sixty four. I mean, I cannot fathom
• 51:40
Speaker 5: where all those people come from. It's amazing come from
• 51:43
Speaker 5: and they come, they come from all over. And anybody
• 51:47
Speaker 5: that says that was a bad idea to pull that
• 51:48
Speaker 5: golf course out and look, I love to golf, you
• 51:51
Speaker 5: know that. Kudos to Selango on that one, brother, I
• 51:55
Speaker 5: mean he got it right, right right indeed.
