Speaker 1: Hi, Catherine, Hi Chelsea.
• 0:03
Speaker 2: I am wearing my glasses, my dark glasses like Stevie
• 0:05
Speaker 2: Wonder in the daylight, because they're my prescription glasses.
• 0:09
  Speaker 3: I can.
• 0:09
Speaker 2: I've lost four pairs of glasses of the last three,
• 0:12
Speaker 2: and I have these new favorite glasses, these Look glasses.
• 0:15
Speaker 1: Yeah, they're like my They transitional are they called?
• 0:18
  Speaker 4: Okay?
• 0:18
Speaker 1: I was calling them transgender for a while, and you look.
• 0:21
Speaker 4: Like a serial killer.
• 0:22
  Speaker 5: Do they like?
• 0:22
Speaker 4: They're not orange like they used to be?
• 0:24
  Speaker 6: Right?
• 0:24
Speaker 2: No, that guy from you mean, the guy from SVU,
• 0:27
Speaker 2: that guy who wears them, what's his name?
• 0:30
Speaker 4: Everyone who wears the transition like kind.
• 0:33
Speaker 2: Of green they turned yes, yes, yeah, I got rid
• 0:35
Speaker 2: of those. I got rid of those, and now I
• 0:37
Speaker 2: have it's this brand called Look. And they sent him
• 0:40
Speaker 2: like even Mendez was doing a line with them, so
• 0:42
Speaker 2: she sent me a bunch or they sent me a bunch,
• 0:44
Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, I love these. I think
• 0:46
Speaker 2: I'm going to do something with them because they're nice
• 0:48
Speaker 2: and big and they don't touch my face. Yeah, which
• 0:51
Speaker 2: is what I want with glasses because otherwise I have
• 0:53
Speaker 2: lines and indentations. Anyway, I've lost three pair in the
• 0:56
Speaker 2: last two days, so my team is running around like crazy,
• 1:00
Speaker 2: is trying to re supplement me, supplement and supplify, supplicate. Listen,
• 1:04
Speaker 2: the last few weeks, I am not playing with a
• 1:06
Speaker 2: full deck of cards after my foot surgery. I don't
• 1:08
Speaker 2: know if I announced I got foot surgery, but yeah,
• 1:11
Speaker 2: I think it's whatever. I mean, I pretty much announced everything. Yeah,
• 1:14
Speaker 2: I have not been taking my mental my brain plasma
• 1:17
Speaker 2: nurrigens and my plasmologens and all my coqu ten because
• 1:21
Speaker 2: of the surgery. So I'm a dumb diption.
• 1:24
Speaker 4: It is really true. Coqu Ten like helps with the
• 1:26
  Speaker 4: brain fog.
• 1:27
Speaker 2: Brain fog, but I take all of these supplements for
• 1:29
Speaker 2: brain fog, and now I know they fucking work. I
• 1:31
Speaker 2: don't know which one it is that works, but I
• 1:33
Speaker 2: am like, I try to say things and I'm like, wait,
• 1:35
Speaker 2: who where what? I can't think of the words I'm
• 1:38
Speaker 2: trying to use. And also I'm taking Norco because of
• 1:41
Speaker 2: the pain from my foot, and also because I love pills,
• 1:43
Speaker 2: and you know, I only get ten, and so I've
• 1:46
Speaker 2: spaced them out in a nice way.
• 1:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's been a little bit of a party
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: for me.
• 1:50
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 1:50
  Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, I mean that's just what I imagine I'm.
• 1:52
Speaker 1: Still not in my house. Everybody still haven't mopped into
• 1:54
  Speaker 1: my house.
• 1:55
  Speaker 5: Oh my gosh.
• 1:56
Speaker 1: So it's to come back from my European trip to
• 1:58
Speaker 1: move into my house.
• 1:59
Speaker 4: But no, no, you know, we were talking about this
• 2:00
Speaker 4: recently and like I just want to put it in
• 2:02
Speaker 4: perspective for the listeners, Like, you bought this house when
• 2:05
Speaker 4: twenty show was like four months old.
• 2:08
Speaker 1: I bought this house. Yeah, it's twenty twenty five.
• 2:11
Speaker 4: As long as people have been listening to the show,
• 2:12
Speaker 4: you have owned this house and before.
• 2:14
Speaker 1: Yeah oh yeah, yeah, yeah, so that's exciting.
• 2:18
Speaker 4: Is there any like update on it?
• 2:19
Speaker 1: Do they have an ETA?
• 2:22
Speaker 2: Yes, it's in the final stages, and at least now
• 2:25
Speaker 2: it is guaranteed work, so there's a warranty on all
• 2:28
Speaker 2: of the work. So now that they came in and
• 2:30
Speaker 2: fixed everything that my prior contractor fucked up, there is
• 2:33
Speaker 2: a warranty on the work so that it will be
• 2:36
Speaker 2: professionally done. And then I am hoping to either offload
• 2:39
Speaker 2: or rent this house out. I don't want anything to
• 2:41
  Speaker 2: do with it.
• 2:42
Speaker 4: I think, Yeah, the juju there is is not for you.
• 2:45
  Speaker 4: It's clashing.
• 2:46
Speaker 2: I had someone come in and cleanse the house. That's
• 2:49
Speaker 2: before before that clearly didn't take. The only thing is
• 2:53
Speaker 2: Doug loves Doug loves that house. So maybe I'll let
• 2:56
Speaker 2: people rent the house and also be with Doug.
• 2:59
Speaker 4: He can you know what I mean, the rental.
• 3:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, he comes with the rental with the comple with
• 3:03
  Speaker 2: other people too.
• 3:04
Speaker 4: Actually, so well that sounds great. Today we have an
• 3:08
  Speaker 4: awesome guest.
• 3:08
Speaker 2: Oh, my boyfriend is here today, you guys, this is
• 3:10
Speaker 2: my boyfriend from my long term boyfriend.
• 3:12
Speaker 1: I've had a crush on him for years.
• 3:13
Speaker 2: He's definitely in my top probably top five of like
• 3:17
Speaker 2: actor men that I've ever had a crush on, because
• 3:19
Speaker 2: I mean, the other ones are too old to fuck,
• 3:21
Speaker 2: like all of the guys I like, like Robertson Niro,
• 3:24
Speaker 2: he's passed. Harrison Ford too old like they. I mean,
• 3:28
Speaker 2: Harrison Ford is still hot. He's got six facts. So like,
• 3:30
Speaker 2: I appreciate that kind of respect, you know what I mean.
• 3:33
Speaker 2: I appreciate when men show us the respect that we
• 3:35
  Speaker 2: show them.
• 3:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, he's given it.
• 3:36
Speaker 2: Women are so taking care of their ship way in
• 3:39
Speaker 2: ways that men don't, and then they hit a certain
• 3:41
Speaker 2: age they fucking let it rip and it's disgusting.
• 3:44
  Speaker 5: Harrison.
• 3:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I was on a beach in Portugal with
• 3:47
Speaker 2: my friend from my friend's fiftieth and they all went
• 3:49
Speaker 2: in the ocean and there's like five men coming out
• 3:51
Speaker 2: of the ocean and five women and I'm like, everybody
• 3:53
Speaker 2: stop right there. I go, men, I want you to
• 3:55
Speaker 2: take a look at these women. And then I want
• 3:56
Speaker 2: you to take a look at your bodies. What are
• 3:58
Speaker 2: you thinking? Why do you get to look like that?
• 4:00
Speaker 2: And then women are keeping their shit together. It's very
• 4:02
Speaker 2: king of queens. Yes, yes, it's very king of queens.
• 4:05
Speaker 2: That reminds me any to reach out to Leah Remeniy. I've
• 4:07
Speaker 2: had spoken to her in a few months. Wow, one
• 4:10
  Speaker 2: of my buddies.
• 4:11
Speaker 4: Should we get her on the show?
• 4:12
Speaker 5: Absolutely, she would love to do the show.
• 4:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, well she's studying. She's getting a law degree. Really, yeah,
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: she's fucking amazing.
• 4:19
  Speaker 5: That's a law degree.
• 4:20
  Speaker 4: Yeah, that's amazing.
• 4:21
Speaker 2: And yeah, so okay, oh my boyfriend, my boyfriend Sea,
• 4:24
Speaker 2: I forgot what I was talking about. Okay, So my
• 4:26
Speaker 2: boyfriend is Eric Banna. Guys, you know I love him.
• 4:29
Speaker 2: And he's here today because he's in a new show.
• 4:31
  Speaker 2: He's on a new show. He's in a new show.
• 4:33
Speaker 2: He's inside me. It's called Untamed and it's on Netflix.
• 4:37
Speaker 2: So please welcome my baby, my baby mama A. Welcome
• 4:45
Speaker 2: to America. Eric Bana, Welcome to America.
• 4:49
Speaker 5: Thanks Chelsea. This is my official welcome.
• 4:52
Speaker 1: This is your first. I'm surprised you're here actually, And
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: here's what I expect.
• 4:55
Speaker 8: That customs, you know, like when I'm getting my passports,
• 4:59
Speaker 8: would be much better.
• 5:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the Things have changed a lot since
• 5:01
Speaker 2: your last trip over here. Because I know you, you
• 5:04
Speaker 2: do come when you have to do press to America.
• 5:06
Speaker 2: I know your wife doesn't like to travel, re Becca.
• 5:08
Speaker 2: Rebecca doesn't like to travel, but you come.
• 5:11
Speaker 5: She came on this trip, actually coached her.
• 5:13
Speaker 1: And yeah, are you trying to make me jealous?
• 5:17
Speaker 8: No, I'm just pointing out that I managed to, you know,
• 5:19
Speaker 8: get her on get her on a plane.
• 5:21
Speaker 5: But no, I don't come here too often. I'm mean
• 5:23
Speaker 5: you for quite some time. But anyway, it's lovely to see.
• 5:25
  Speaker 5: It's lovely.
• 5:26
Speaker 1: It's always lovely to see. You know who I was
• 5:28
  Speaker 1: with last night?
• 5:29
  Speaker 5: No, I don't.
• 5:29
Speaker 2: Connie Britten, no way, who Eric starred with in Dirty
• 5:33
Speaker 2: John was one of your favorites. We've actually spent a
• 5:35
Speaker 2: lot of time on this podcast talking about Dirty John.
• 5:38
Speaker 2: I don't know if we had you on to talk
• 5:39
Speaker 2: about Dirty John, but Connie is a very close friend
• 5:41
Speaker 2: of mine, and we had we were out of friends
• 5:44
Speaker 2: the house last night, and I just think that whole story,
• 5:48
Speaker 2: you know, Dirty John was just I know Connie was acting,
• 5:52
Speaker 2: but she kind of is dinghy like that in real life,
• 5:55
Speaker 2: so I always like to remind her that I found it.
• 5:59
Speaker 2: I just was like, how did anyone be that stupid
• 6:01
Speaker 2: to believe this guy? And I didn't like you playing
• 6:03
Speaker 2: that role either, because you know that I have strong
• 6:05
Speaker 2: feelings about your acting. You're performing. You know that I've
• 6:08
Speaker 2: always had a crush on you. I mean, we've passed
• 6:10
Speaker 2: the point of it being an issue. Yeah, because we've
• 6:12
Speaker 2: known each other for so many years, so it's not
• 6:15
  Speaker 2: an issue.
• 6:15
Speaker 1: You know, I've met your wife.
• 6:16
Speaker 2: I understand you know, so it's not a problem. But
• 6:20
Speaker 2: I didn't like seeing you play that kind of character.
• 6:23
  Speaker 5: Not fair enough.
• 6:24
Speaker 8: And I had a lot of people who had had
• 6:26
Speaker 8: a visceral physical reaction to me after that, like yeah, yeah, yeah,
• 6:30
Speaker 8: Like people would like cross the street and even people
• 6:33
Speaker 8: that like in my suburb, you know, coffee shops and stuff,
• 6:35
Speaker 8: that just kind of like kind of recoil for a
• 6:39
Speaker 8: couple of months, which I took as a good sign. Actually,
• 6:41
Speaker 8: you know what, I should play more of those sort
• 6:42
Speaker 8: of characters. I want people to recoil when they see.
• 6:45
  Speaker 6: Me in run.
• 6:45
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 6:46
Speaker 2: Well that's better than yeah, being bombarded all the time.
• 6:48
Speaker 2: I would imagine you would want to break from people
• 6:50
Speaker 2: at some point. I mean I feel like, yeah, that
• 6:53
Speaker 2: was a really a repellent character.
• 6:56
Speaker 1: But I mean you've played other repellent characters.
• 6:58
Speaker 5: Yeah, I love repellent character.
• 7:00
  Speaker 1: You like that.
• 7:01
Speaker 5: I love to be repellent.
• 7:02
Speaker 2: I mean the new show that you're on is Untamed.
• 7:04
Speaker 2: It's on Netflix, it's already started streaming, and that I
• 7:07
Speaker 2: like because you were on a horse immediately on the gate.
• 7:09
Speaker 2: You were on a horse, and you were a park
• 7:10
Speaker 2: ranger and you know, some sort of detective.
• 7:12
  Speaker 5: That's where I love repellent.
• 7:14
Speaker 1: That's why that's the vibe I like to see you
• 7:16
Speaker 1: in and embody. That's when I feel the safest with
• 7:19
Speaker 1: you is when you're in this kind of role.
• 7:21
Speaker 2: You're solving a crime, you know what I mean. You're people,
• 7:25
Speaker 2: You're like the tough.
• 7:25
  Speaker 5: Guys, supposedly trustworthy.
• 7:27
  Speaker 2: Supposedly let's say, yeah, I mean you're Australian, so I'm
• 7:31
Speaker 2: not in this movie though you I mean in this show,
• 7:33
Speaker 2: you're not Australian. You play an American and the accent
• 7:35
Speaker 2: is very good, well for this stage.
• 7:38
  Speaker 5: If I can't, I'm in trouble. Right.
• 7:39
Speaker 2: Why do you think it is eric that so many
• 7:41
Speaker 2: Australians can do such great American accents, but Americans can't
• 7:46
Speaker 2: really ever do Australian accents?
• 7:48
  Speaker 5: You know why?
• 7:49
Speaker 8: Because you don't try. Really, Yeah, when was the last
• 7:53
Speaker 8: time you tried to do Astralia?
• 7:54
Speaker 1: I can say no, no, I know how to say that.
• 7:59
Speaker 8: No, Honestly, I I would really love to see more
• 8:02
Speaker 8: Americans forced to do an Australian eco.
• 8:04
Speaker 2: You know, it be eliminated from the acting industry because
• 8:07
Speaker 2: it would be brutal.
• 8:08
Speaker 5: It would be brutal.
• 8:08
Speaker 8: It's like a tax we have to pay, you know,
• 8:10
Speaker 8: to work internationally. Raither playing Brits, so we're playing Americans.
• 8:14
Speaker 8: We don't have a choice. Is you don't see Australian
• 8:16
Speaker 8: people in international film, right, we just don't exist. We
• 8:19
Speaker 8: don't exists as a species species. No Australians appearing as
• 8:25
Speaker 8: Australian in any film or yes, we do.
• 8:28
  Speaker 5: We've worked for it, We've worked. I don't know.
• 8:30
Speaker 1: I mean, it's a very young country, you know what
• 8:33
Speaker 1: I mean. You guys are a younger country than America and.
• 8:35
Speaker 4: People with criminals, of course.
• 8:37
  Speaker 1: Living with criminals.
• 8:38
Speaker 5: It's a fair point. I'll go back into Michelle.
• 8:40
Speaker 2: I know a lot about you. I know that you
• 8:42
Speaker 2: love race car driving, like you're really into that. I
• 8:45
Speaker 2: stay a film once that you did about it, and
• 8:47
  Speaker 2: I know you're a big family man. I didn't know
• 8:51
Speaker 2: that you were attacked by kangaroos attack? Well, were you
• 8:55
Speaker 2: in a kangaroo fight?
• 8:57
Speaker 8: I was picked on by kangaroo once when I was
• 9:00
Speaker 8: by myself. Yeah, that's true, that's true. It was just
• 9:02
Speaker 8: one guy. He was, I think the leader of the
• 9:04
Speaker 8: pack of the valley. I picked the wrong spot to
• 9:06
Speaker 8: pitch a tent and he shaped up to me.
• 9:09
Speaker 1: He did, and yeah, what is.
• 9:12
Speaker 2: The process of what do you how do you handle?
• 9:14
Speaker 2: How does one handle and infraction with a kangaroo?
• 9:17
Speaker 8: Well, I'm glad you asked, because I didn't know either.
• 9:20
Speaker 8: I wanted to google what the hell do I do?
• 9:22
Speaker 8: This guy wants a fight? I had no cell phone coverage,
• 9:25
Speaker 8: of course, out back I'm in the apple, and so
• 9:28
Speaker 8: I thought I'll scare him off with my motorcycle, and
• 9:30
Speaker 8: I walked behind the motorcycle. I put the bike between
• 9:33
Speaker 8: me and him, and I started it up. I'm like,
• 9:35
Speaker 8: this twelve hundred cc beast is just his is going
• 9:38
Speaker 8: to go running. And he didn't move, he didn't flinch,
• 9:40
Speaker 8: and he actually had a facial expression like really, really
• 9:45
Speaker 8: you think you think that's gonna And then he just
• 9:48
Speaker 8: kept hopping around trying to square off at me. I
• 9:51
Speaker 8: since learned that I should have perhaps not made so
• 9:53
Speaker 8: much eye contact and sort of gone into his space.
• 9:57
Speaker 5: I should have retreated. But I had the work night's sleep.
• 10:00
Speaker 8: I was in a single man tand and I was
• 10:02
Speaker 8: just picturing like Koujo, you know, like this thing is
• 10:04
Speaker 8: just going to come in and just rip me to pieces.
• 10:06
  Speaker 5: But I survived.
• 10:07
  Speaker 1: Well, you're a survivor.
• 10:09
Speaker 2: And it's funny though, because you don't think of kangaroos
• 10:12
Speaker 2: as a very aggressive type out of all, but they
• 10:14
Speaker 2: are kind of they can be.
• 10:15
Speaker 5: They can be. Look, my fault was the kangaroo.
• 10:17
Speaker 1: Were you drinking with a kangaroo?
• 10:19
Speaker 2: Because I know a woman who had a cocktail with
• 10:21
Speaker 2: with the monkey and then the monkey attacked.
• 10:24
Speaker 5: No, I was not drinking. I was by myself.
• 10:26
Speaker 8: But as I said, like, I would have attacked him
• 10:28
Speaker 8: if he was in my if he repeeed in my
• 10:30
Speaker 8: bedroom as well. I was in his backyard. I was
• 10:33
  Speaker 8: sleeping under his tree I had. I didn't know. I
• 10:35
Speaker 8: should have done my homework.
• 10:36
  Speaker 1: What other close.
• 10:37
Speaker 2: Calls have you been involved in? Have you ever had
• 10:40
  Speaker 2: a shark incident?
• 10:41
  Speaker 5: No?
• 10:42
Speaker 1: No, have you ever seen a shark?
• 10:44
Speaker 8: Oh? Yeah, I've seen plenty of sharks as a place
• 10:46
Speaker 8: we used to go to called lord How Island which
• 10:48
Speaker 8: has loads of sharks out adam past the reef, but
• 10:51
Speaker 8: not where you swim, you know.
• 10:53
Speaker 5: Like, I think they're pretty safe. I love them.
• 10:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll all Australians say that. They say they're not
• 10:58
Speaker 2: here to eat us. They're not, but they are eating people,
• 11:01
Speaker 2: so like I know, they're just trying to take a
• 11:03
Speaker 2: bite and then they decide, oh I don't like that,
• 11:05
Speaker 2: but whoopsie doodle, then the person's leg is missing.
• 11:08
Speaker 8: Yeah, I think the shocks would do that are a
• 11:09
Speaker 8: little bit off, if you know what I'm saying.
• 11:11
Speaker 1: Oh, oh, like, okay, I think I hate copy that
• 11:14
  Speaker 1: copy that.
• 11:15
Speaker 5: I've been you know, discouded from the pack.
• 11:17
Speaker 1: Perhaps, What about poison, Well, I don't think they travel
• 11:19
  Speaker 1: in packs.
• 11:20
  Speaker 5: But anyway to.
• 11:20
Speaker 8: Australia, don't make it, don't make it sound like this unwelcoming,
• 11:25
  Speaker 8: you know violent.
• 11:27
Speaker 2: I love Australia. First of all, you don't have to
• 11:29
Speaker 2: tell me about Australia. I know you're from Melbourne and
• 11:32
Speaker 2: I but I prefer Sydney. Sydney is I just was
• 11:35
Speaker 2: there last year. I did a tour there.
• 11:36
  Speaker 5: Again.
• 11:37
Speaker 2: I reached out to you, of course, to invite you
• 11:38
Speaker 2: to my show as usual, and he didn't show up.
• 11:40
Speaker 8: Well, I was in Canada making the show where he
• 11:43
Speaker 8: had to talk about so I wouldn't be here now
• 11:44
  Speaker 8: if I wasn't.
• 11:45
Speaker 1: Viable to you, obviously we need you on it untamed.
• 11:47
Speaker 1: That was a priority.
• 11:49
Speaker 2: What about a deadly snake? Have you ever come into
• 11:51
Speaker 2: contact with a deadly snake? Because I fucking hate snakes.
• 11:54
Speaker 8: Yes, unfortunately, Yes, I like to play golf and I'll
• 11:57
Speaker 8: see them quite a lot.
• 11:58
Speaker 5: We get browns and and also.
• 12:00
Speaker 1: Ones are the really dangerous ones.
• 12:02
Speaker 2: But in Australia, basically all snakes are dangerous.
• 12:05
Speaker 5: Yeah, a lot of them are.
• 12:06
Speaker 8: But again, you know, like they you're going into the
• 12:09
Speaker 8: area Chelsea like they not come. Actually, sometimes in Queensland,
• 12:12
Speaker 8: I might put themselves in golfing.
• 12:14
Speaker 2: Are they golfing? That doesn't seem like their area? That
• 12:18
Speaker 2: definitely seems like another.
• 12:19
Speaker 8: Area on the fairway. Actually they did cross the fairway.
• 12:23
Speaker 2: Sometimes the ground ones are the grossest ones. I find
• 12:25
  Speaker 2: those that.
• 12:26
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, they're big, they're big and they're thick.
• 12:28
Speaker 2: And I once saw a picture of like a golf
• 12:30
Speaker 2: course that had was just laden with all of these snakes.
• 12:33
Speaker 2: I don't think it was in Australia, it was probably
• 12:35
Speaker 2: somewhere in Florida, but there were like eight or ten
• 12:37
Speaker 2: huge snakes on the golf course. And I'm like, oh
• 12:40
Speaker 2: my god, that is like my worst nightmare. Are you
• 12:42
  Speaker 2: a good golfer?
• 12:43
Speaker 5: No, I'm not very good.
• 12:44
Speaker 8: My wife's white better, unfortunately, but I'm only three yeas in.
• 12:49
  Speaker 5: Golf.
• 12:51
Speaker 8: God, don't bring this up. She's so good it's annoying.
• 12:53
Speaker 8: But you know she's she's a better athlete. She played
• 12:55
Speaker 8: tennis as a kid, and it's just accounts that comes
• 12:59
Speaker 8: natural to a's worked really hard.
• 13:01
Speaker 5: Anyway, she's about seven shots ahead of me. Can we
• 13:03
  Speaker 5: move on?
• 13:04
Speaker 2: Well, you're embarrassed and you should know I shouldn't be embarrassed.
• 13:08
Speaker 8: You know, why shouldn't she be better than Why should
• 13:10
Speaker 8: I expect to be better than her?
• 13:11
Speaker 2: Well, because you're an Australian male, that's probably why you're
• 13:14
  Speaker 2: thinking that.
• 13:15
Speaker 1: By the way, that's a urine sample.
• 13:18
Speaker 5: Kidding. I would never do that.
• 13:20
Speaker 1: I would never do that to you.
• 13:21
Speaker 2: Okay, So now let's talk about some of your roles,
• 13:24
Speaker 2: because I want to know which ones mean the most
• 13:25
  Speaker 2: to you.
• 13:27
Speaker 1: What role of yours made you like, I know.
• 13:30
Speaker 2: You loved working on Troy right with Brackett And who
• 13:33
Speaker 2: else was in that movie?
• 13:34
Speaker 1: Was it Orlando Bloom?
• 13:35
Speaker 8: Orlando Bloom, He's fine, so many great actors, Sean Bain,
• 13:40
  Speaker 8: mister Cox.
• 13:41
Speaker 5: I mean, it was just it was just amazing.
• 13:43
Speaker 2: And I know you said about that movie like had
• 13:44
Speaker 2: it made no money, you would have still been just
• 13:46
Speaker 2: happy that you had done it because you.
• 13:47
Speaker 5: Were in such a good company and you enjoy.
• 13:49
Speaker 8: Feel like that on everything I'll work on, like you
• 13:51
Speaker 8: always always like like what happens afterwards, Like you just
• 13:54
Speaker 8: you do the thing and it's like you put that
• 13:56
Speaker 8: experience in a box and you lock it away. And
• 13:59
Speaker 8: sometimes I know these sons ridiculous. Sometimes I actually forget
• 14:02
Speaker 8: that people are going to say the thing like, now
• 14:04
  Speaker 8: I'm actually talking.
• 14:04
Speaker 1: About that's already over.
• 14:06
Speaker 8: I had read such an amazing time filming that last year,
• 14:09
Speaker 8: and you know how beautiful.
• 14:10
Speaker 5: It is in BC outside the back of Whistler where
• 14:12
Speaker 5: we shot most of this.
• 14:14
Speaker 8: I mean, I was getting paid to be on a
• 14:15
Speaker 8: horse up in the mountains every day, hanging around with
• 14:17
Speaker 8: the most incredible crew, working with amazing riders.
• 14:20
Speaker 5: And then now I'm like, oh, that's right, people are
• 14:23
Speaker 5: going to see that. I forget.
• 14:24
Speaker 8: I forget we're making it for people, like it wasn't
• 14:26
Speaker 8: just for us, Like I literally forget.
• 14:28
Speaker 2: But also like with the way the industry is now,
• 14:31
Speaker 2: there's so much, you know what I mean, We're so
• 14:33
Speaker 2: saturated with so many TV shows, so many films.
• 14:36
Speaker 1: There's so much that.
• 14:37
Speaker 2: It's like it's not as big of as a drum
• 14:40
Speaker 2: beat to get to things for releases, for things.
• 14:42
Speaker 1: As it used to be.
• 14:43
  Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true.
• 14:44
Speaker 2: You know, it feels like there's a lot more that
• 14:46
Speaker 2: comes and goes much quicker. So to have something like
• 14:49
Speaker 2: a project adding on to what you're saying that that
• 14:51
Speaker 2: there's like a little bit of lag time to promoting something,
• 14:54
Speaker 2: but British Columbia, I think is if I think you'll
• 14:57
Speaker 2: agree with me, one of the most beautiful parts of
• 14:59
  Speaker 2: the whole world.
• 15:00
Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, in some ways we were lucky. We
• 15:01
Speaker 8: couldn't get into the key parts of Yosemite where the
• 15:04
Speaker 8: series is set in summer, because of practicality reasons.
• 15:07
Speaker 1: So because of what happened with you in that kangaroo, yeah, exactly.
• 15:10
Speaker 8: Exactly, they heard it. So we ended up in BC
• 15:12
Speaker 8: at the back of Whistler for most of it.
• 15:14
Speaker 1: And did you see any bears when you were in BC?
• 15:17
Speaker 5: Do you know what I wanted to? I wanted to
• 15:19
Speaker 5: and I saw none. And we had a bear guy.
• 15:21
Speaker 8: We had a bear guy who was like, you know,
• 15:22
Speaker 8: our safety and the bears safety. I'm like, dude, you're
• 15:26
Speaker 8: full of shit. Where are the bears? Like, there's just
• 15:28
Speaker 8: nothing I wanted to Like. I heard a rumor that
• 15:31
Speaker 8: some actors in the past had put steaks outside of
• 15:33
Speaker 8: their I'm not going to mention any knows, Okay, not
• 15:36
Speaker 8: on our show, by the way, Okay, well had put
• 15:38
Speaker 8: steaks on plates outside their trailers to try and get
• 15:41
  Speaker 8: an Instagram moment. I didn't do that, but I didn't
• 15:44
Speaker 8: see one bear, so I need to go. I mean,
• 15:47
Speaker 8: I would have more chance of seeing a bear on
• 15:49
Speaker 8: a ski lift in winter than I did.
• 15:51
Speaker 5: On the show, Where did you go?
• 15:53
Speaker 1: Stay off the back of Whistler? You keep saying where
• 15:55
Speaker 1: where you do you know where you were?
• 15:56
Speaker 5: Well, we stayed in whistle and then we travel out
• 15:58
  Speaker 5: into the back.
• 15:59
Speaker 1: Yet you know I have some Whistler.
• 16:00
Speaker 5: Well I know, but you never offered it. You didn't
• 16:03
  Speaker 5: even know you.
• 16:03
Speaker 1: Were No, I didn't know you were there.
• 16:05
  Speaker 6: This is you.
• 16:05
Speaker 1: This is what I'm talking about with our relationship.
• 16:07
Speaker 2: You're constantly very close by and acting like you're nowhere.
• 16:12
Speaker 5: Told you I was there? No, no one really.
• 16:14
Speaker 2: You would have heard from me, Eric if I had
• 16:16
Speaker 2: known you were in Whistler, you definitely would have.
• 16:18
Speaker 1: In the summer, No, I go in the I go
• 16:21
  Speaker 1: it's a ski you know.
• 16:22
Speaker 2: I like skiing, so I knew that. So yeah, I've
• 16:25
Speaker 2: never seen a bear there either. And at the end
• 16:27
Speaker 2: of ski season, when when the snow melts, everyone there's
• 16:30
  Speaker 2: always bears.
• 16:31
  Speaker 4: You know.
• 16:31
Speaker 2: So this year I stayed extra long because I love
• 16:33
Speaker 2: the idea of seeing a bear.
• 16:35
Speaker 1: My dogs look like bears. I feel like I have
• 16:37
Speaker 1: a connection to bears, and I feel like I could.
• 16:39
Speaker 2: Handle a bear, you know what I mean, I would
• 16:40
Speaker 2: know what to do in that situation more so than
• 16:42
Speaker 2: a snake or a shark or a kangaroo. But this
• 16:45
  Speaker 2: year I kept waiting and they're like, oh, there's a
• 16:47
Speaker 2: bear at the end of the road, and then we
• 16:48
Speaker 2: drive down the end of the road the bear would
• 16:50
  Speaker 2: be gone.
• 16:50
Speaker 1: So I still haven't seen my real life bear.
• 16:52
Speaker 8: The area that we were filming in at the back
• 16:54
Speaker 8: of the old Olympic skate park, there is a goosely
• 16:57
Speaker 8: there called Debbie, which I saw at some stuff age
• 17:00
Speaker 8: in pre production. I'm like Debbie where I like, Debbie
• 17:02
Speaker 8: did not come out.
• 17:03
Speaker 5: Yeah, especially like a big grizzly.
• 17:05
Speaker 2: But a female grizzly is going to be even more
• 17:06
Speaker 2: dangerous than a male grizzly.
• 17:08
Speaker 1: Fantastic, Yeah, yeah, for sure.
• 17:10
Speaker 2: So back to the question about what movie role do
• 17:12
Speaker 2: you think, like, what is one movie role that you
• 17:14
Speaker 2: think has had the biggest not even impact professionally, but
• 17:19
  Speaker 2: on you personally.
• 17:21
  Speaker 8: That's that's a really good question because I've had like
• 17:24
Speaker 8: four or five that have been really special. But in
• 17:26
Speaker 8: terms of like on long term friendships, my first big
• 17:29
Speaker 8: American film was Black Hawk Down, which was this huge ensemble,
• 17:33
Speaker 8: and I to this day have like three or four
• 17:36
Speaker 8: of my closest friends are from that shoot that we
• 17:38
Speaker 8: stayed in contact with. We had hotel rooms on the
• 17:41
Speaker 8: same floor. My son was like eighteen months I think
• 17:43
Speaker 8: at the time when we turned up. He was two
• 17:45
Speaker 8: by the time we left. I'm literally catching up with
• 17:48
Speaker 8: one of those people tomorrow night. So in terms of
• 17:52
Speaker 8: like impact on your life, I'd say that would be
• 17:54
Speaker 8: the greatest, mainly because of the friendships that were forged. Yeah,
• 17:57
Speaker 8: and I'm not alone. There was like different gangs of
• 18:00
Speaker 8: friendships on that film because the cast was so huge
• 18:02
Speaker 8: of like two people there, three people there, five people there,
• 18:05
Speaker 8: and it's the same free of one. Everyone is like
• 18:07
Speaker 8: super super tight from that film. Troy was really special.
• 18:10
Speaker 8: Munich was really special.
• 18:11
Speaker 1: Munich was a great film.
• 18:13
Speaker 8: Yeah, there's been so many that I think the big
• 18:16
Speaker 8: long shoots where everyone's away from home has something special
• 18:19
Speaker 8: to it. I'm usually the only guy who's away from home.
• 18:22
Speaker 8: I'm usually somewhere where everyone's sleeping in their own beds
• 18:24
Speaker 8: at night and I'm going back to an apartment and whatever.
• 18:27
Speaker 8: But on the big ones like that, it's a bit
• 18:29
Speaker 8: more of a bonding experience.
• 18:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, which is hard because you're also aware there's a
• 18:33
Speaker 1: bit of a summer camp vibe to it, you know.
• 18:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I know it's hard for
• 18:37
Speaker 2: you to be away from your family too. I mean,
• 18:39
Speaker 2: maybe it's not hard, but it's obviously not. You'd rather
• 18:41
Speaker 2: be with your family and you have to. You're the
• 18:43
Speaker 2: one traveling from Australia. But your kids are grown up
• 18:46
Speaker 2: now and in college.
• 18:47
Speaker 5: Yeah. Well the past that stage had twenty three and
• 18:50
Speaker 5: twenty five. Yeah, and are they still speaking to you?
• 18:52
Speaker 5: They're still speaking to me? Isn't that fantastic?
• 18:53
  Speaker 3: Wow?
• 18:54
Speaker 8: Yeah, one of them just just just facetimed me from Europe.
• 18:57
Speaker 8: Today they're out of the house and stuff. So yeah, yeah,
• 19:01
  Speaker 8: I'm so old.
• 19:02
Speaker 1: What are you and Rebecca are going to do now
• 19:04
Speaker 1: that your kids are like adulting? How are you going
• 19:06
Speaker 1: to celebrate your life?
• 19:07
Speaker 5: We'll do more travel, We'll pply, more golf, We'll have
• 19:09
Speaker 5: some fun. We'll drink. You'll get her to drink more
• 19:11
Speaker 5: than one glass of alcohol awake.
• 19:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, absolutely remember that.
• 19:17
Speaker 5: I send it to you for a week.
• 19:19
Speaker 1: I can train anybody. I can train anybody to drink more.
• 19:22
Speaker 2: Remember we went to dinner one night in Melbourne and
• 19:24
Speaker 2: then I got into the van on the way out
• 19:26
Speaker 2: and I went to go take a step up. I
• 19:28
Speaker 2: had had a few cocktails, of course, and I stepped
• 19:30
Speaker 2: up and then I kind of fell into the van
• 19:32
Speaker 2: and eric'sch you're right there, and just kept walking, just
• 19:35
Speaker 2: walking by me. No, I think this is a perfect
• 19:38
Speaker 2: time for you guys to travel enjoy your lives. You know,
• 19:41
Speaker 2: it's so nice when kids are grown up and you've
• 19:43
Speaker 2: like you they're cooked.
• 19:45
Speaker 5: They're never found, they cooked exactly now it is.
• 19:48
Speaker 8: It does feel amazing, And it's also that it's that
• 19:50
Speaker 8: I do you think will never happen, you know, when
• 19:53
Speaker 8: you've got like you just think this point will never
• 19:55
Speaker 8: ever come where you'll just travel and it won't really
• 19:57
Speaker 8: matter where you are because they don't around. S No,
• 20:00
Speaker 8: it's kind of fun. I mean, it's kind of sad
• 20:02
Speaker 8: in some ways, but that's yeah, it's amazing.
• 20:03
Speaker 2: And what do you think if you had to describe
• 20:05
Speaker 2: yourself as a dad, how would you describe yourself?
• 20:08
  Speaker 1: Oh?
• 20:10
Speaker 5: God, I definitely try and be funny.
• 20:13
Speaker 8: I think my wife and I really similar, like we're
• 20:15
Speaker 8: just really into it, really into being parents, Like we
• 20:18
Speaker 8: were always really really into it. So I would say
• 20:21
Speaker 8: they're probably they will always seek of me being around.
• 20:23
Speaker 8: They were like, can you just go back to work?
• 20:25
Speaker 8: Like enough of you already. So yeah, I don't know,
• 20:29
  Speaker 8: something like that.
• 20:29
Speaker 2: Did you find out that you were you surprised to
• 20:32
Speaker 2: find out how much patience you had as a father?
• 20:35
Speaker 5: Well, it depends on the day of the week, right, Yeah.
• 20:37
Speaker 2: Would you say patience is one of your strong suits
• 20:39
Speaker 2: or one of your less strong suits.
• 20:41
Speaker 5: No, I would say in life, in general and in work,
• 20:44
Speaker 5: I'm very very patient, very very patient. Yeah.
• 20:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I need to work on my patients.
• 20:50
Speaker 5: Yeah, I was stupid people.
• 20:52
Speaker 1: It's very hard for me.
• 20:53
Speaker 5: No, fair enough, you know, stupid.
• 20:55
Speaker 1: People is very hard for Dimerware.
• 20:57
Speaker 2: I don't like to I want everyone to sess the
• 21:00
Speaker 2: situation quickly and then move on.
• 21:02
Speaker 5: Is it stupid people or is it inefficiency?
• 21:04
Speaker 8: Because I have I have discovered recently that all of
• 21:07
Speaker 8: my close friends, all of my male close friends, are
• 21:10
Speaker 8: high intelligence and have no capacity for inefficiency. It's just
• 21:15
Speaker 8: I just discovered this one day when I was telling
• 21:17
Speaker 8: my wife about the story. I was just recently traveling
• 21:19
Speaker 8: with a buddy of mine and his Bugberry's checking into
• 21:21
Speaker 8: hotels anything more than three words, anything.
• 21:25
Speaker 2: That interact with the person in my room. And then also,
• 21:29
Speaker 2: don't come in, Yeah.
• 21:30
Speaker 5: Tell me the key, don't give me the two say nothing.
• 21:33
Speaker 2: My issue with impatience is when the interaction just yes,
• 21:36
Speaker 2: it's exactly that, when it's it could be succinct, and
• 21:39
Speaker 2: yet it keeps going and there's a back and forth.
• 21:41
Speaker 2: It's like I already have clocked what's going on, and
• 21:44
Speaker 2: I've expressed to you via me O hosts that this
• 21:49
Speaker 2: is not like this is over, like I got it.
• 21:51
  Speaker 5: You know.
• 21:51
Speaker 1: It's even on planes.
• 21:52
Speaker 2: I noticed when people it's almost like people want to
• 21:56
Speaker 2: just waste time, you know, talking to people. I think
• 21:59
Speaker 2: when people are I think planes specifically, because people seem
• 22:02
Speaker 2: to get nervous on planes, and I think they like
• 22:04
Speaker 2: to talk too much just because they're feeling nervous.
• 22:06
Speaker 8: Ordering food, like people, you know, like when you're in
• 22:09
Speaker 8: line and someone's ordering and they're having like a conversation
• 22:11
  Speaker 8: with the cashier.
• 22:12
Speaker 5: Yeah, it's so fucking annoying.
• 22:13
  Speaker 1: I hate that.
• 22:14
Speaker 2: Or in airports when people are just standing there, I'm like,
• 22:17
Speaker 2: what are you doing?
• 22:17
Speaker 1: Move? You're nobody's here to hang out and meet friends here.
• 22:21
Speaker 1: No one is here for that reason.
• 22:22
Speaker 2: The purpose of an airport is to get from one
• 22:24
Speaker 2: place to the next.
• 22:26
Speaker 1: Place, So fucking move your feet. I don't understand either,
• 22:29
Speaker 1: what's go three or four?
• 22:30
  Speaker 5: Brist come on?
• 22:31
  Speaker 7: No?
• 22:32
Speaker 4: So then still are never paying attention to either.
• 22:35
Speaker 1: Don't throw that word around either. Are you somebody that would.
• 22:38
Speaker 2: Ever listen to watch a show on your phone or
• 22:41
Speaker 2: have a FaceTime call on your phone without a pair
• 22:44
  Speaker 2: of headphones on?
• 22:45
  Speaker 6: Eric?
• 22:45
Speaker 1: No, exactly, no, that's the right answer.
• 22:47
Speaker 2: I had to confront about three different people on my
• 22:50
  Speaker 2: last travels.
• 22:50
Speaker 1: I was just in Europe for two months.
• 22:52
Speaker 5: And I guess with the Americans, h No, they were men.
• 22:55
Speaker 2: Though they were men. There was one woman and she
• 22:58
Speaker 2: was elderly, so I was.
• 22:59
Speaker 1: Like, because I am very well, but she could still
• 23:03
Speaker 1: could get a headphone.
• 23:04
Speaker 5: So I mean hearing eyes to something. That's where I'm going.
• 23:07
  Speaker 1: Well, that's nice.
• 23:08
Speaker 2: But I thought if I if I said something to
• 23:11
Speaker 2: the two men and I didn't say something to the woman,
• 23:13
Speaker 2: then that would be sexist, and I don't want to be.
• 23:15
Speaker 1: Sex Yeah, exactly, you know that it's down.
• 23:18
Speaker 2: So I said, excuse me, missed, do you have a
• 23:19
Speaker 2: set of headphones, and she goes, oh, I'm so sorry,
• 23:22
  Speaker 2: but yeah there.
• 23:22
Speaker 5: Was a reaction. Were you surprised because I'm so.
• 23:25
Speaker 1: Nice about it? I go, I'm so sorry. Would you
• 23:27
Speaker 1: mind not watching that fucking race card show at full
• 23:32
Speaker 1: blast volume while we're on a.
• 23:33
Speaker 2: Fucking plane together when everyone it's just so inconsiderate, you know.
• 23:38
Speaker 2: I mean, it's definitely more of a male thing, of course,
• 23:41
Speaker 2: like everything, where people just don't consider that other people.
• 23:44
Speaker 1: May not want to hear your social media or your
• 23:48
  Speaker 1: face time call.
• 23:49
Speaker 2: I mean, it kills me when someone's on a FaceTime
• 23:51
Speaker 2: call with that and you're just.
• 23:52
Speaker 1: Like, do you think do you want people to hear
• 23:55
  Speaker 1: your conversations?
• 23:55
  Speaker 6: I do.
• 23:56
Speaker 5: That's the truth, I know, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 24:01
  Speaker 2: Okay, we're going to take a break and I we're
• 24:03
Speaker 2: going to be right back with my favorite Eric Banner. Okay,
• 24:09
Speaker 2: and we're back with Eric Banner. Okay, tell me why
• 24:12
Speaker 2: you wanted to do unteamed Eric.
• 24:14
Speaker 8: I love the pilot episode when it was sent to me,
• 24:17
Speaker 8: I just thought it was so brilliantly written. So it's
• 24:21
Speaker 8: and selfishly is an actor you Honestly, when I'm reading something,
• 24:24
Speaker 8: I'm reading something as an audience first.
• 24:25
Speaker 1: That's the truth as an actor or as a person.
• 24:28
Speaker 5: As a person, as like does this interest me?
• 24:30
  Speaker 3: Do?
• 24:30
Speaker 8: I think this is great? And then the second time
• 24:32
Speaker 8: it's like selfishly diving in. Okay, what's this character? Likee
• 24:36
Speaker 8: of so I read, I'm like, I'm so in. I like,
• 24:38
Speaker 8: whether I'm in the show or not, I'm watching this
• 24:40
Speaker 8: like it's not going to be on my.
• 24:41
Speaker 1: List because the first episode is very intense, lots of
• 24:43
  Speaker 1: things happen.
• 24:44
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, the opening I was like panicking under my covers.
• 24:48
Speaker 8: I loved it and I loved the character of Kyle.
• 24:51
Speaker 8: And then I met with Mark and we spoke and
• 24:53
Speaker 8: I was like, I want to help set this up.
• 24:55
Speaker 5: I want to make this show. So that was five
• 24:58
Speaker 5: years ago, so it took us quite a while to yeah,
• 25:00
Speaker 5: to get to be what was interested in something. If
• 25:02
Speaker 5: it took five years, you got to have patience.
• 25:04
Speaker 1: But such a long time, wouldn't.
• 25:06
Speaker 5: We hear talking about this if I had no patient?
• 25:10
Speaker 8: Anyway, No, I just loved it, and I because I
• 25:12
Speaker 8: love a murder mystery, so many of us do. But
• 25:15
Speaker 8: I'm done with people driving arounding cars and knocking on doors.
• 25:18
Speaker 8: So here we were in a national park, trying to
• 25:20
Speaker 8: solve a crime, but in the most beautiful epic setting,
• 25:23
Speaker 8: which has an element of danger to it. And for
• 25:25
Speaker 8: those of us who love nature, we know, like there's
• 25:27
  Speaker 8: yin Yang. It's like you're exposed. It's amazing, but there's
• 25:30
Speaker 8: always this element that it could be in a little
• 25:32
Speaker 8: bit of danger here. So I love the idea of
• 25:35
Speaker 8: that genre or that that kind of program but set
• 25:39
  Speaker 8: somewhere amazing.
• 25:40
Speaker 5: As a point of difference.
• 25:41
Speaker 2: Uh huh, yeah, I mean it means even more to
• 25:44
Speaker 2: me now that I know it was shot and Whistler.
• 25:45
  Speaker 1: I didn't even know that. I didn't even recognize they're
• 25:47
Speaker 1: watching it that it was shot in Whistler.
• 25:49
Speaker 8: Well hopefully you don't, because you know, we had some
• 25:52
Speaker 8: be stuff from Yoursemite that we stitch into my you know,
• 25:55
  Speaker 8: So that's good.
• 25:55
Speaker 1: All National parks look the same to me, you know
• 25:57
  Speaker 1: what I mean.
• 25:58
  Speaker 5: Once you're in the woods, you're a.
• 25:59
Speaker 2: Park ranger for one park, you're a park ranger for
• 26:01
Speaker 2: pretty much all parks.
• 26:02
Speaker 5: I'm not a park range, but you know I'm talking
• 26:04
  Speaker 5: about myself.
• 26:04
  Speaker 1: I'm a park ranger.
• 26:07
Speaker 2: Right, Investigating Services branch thinks you're a permanent investigative y whatever,
• 26:14
Speaker 2: and put it investigator in front of anything, and.
• 26:16
Speaker 1: That's what he is.
• 26:17
Speaker 5: Yeah, we should we start with you.
• 26:19
Speaker 2: I want to hear Eric give advice to people. Yeah,
• 26:23
Speaker 2: this is called Dear Chelsea. First of all, it's called
• 26:25
Speaker 2: like Dear Abbey. So people are going to call in
• 26:27
Speaker 2: for life advice, and based on your based on your
• 26:30
Speaker 2: life experience, everything you've been through, you are going to
• 26:33
Speaker 2: tell them what you think they should do.
• 26:35
Speaker 5: Will hang on? Will they listen?
• 26:38
  Speaker 3: Yeah?
• 26:38
Speaker 8: Will do I get evidence as to whether they took
• 26:42
  Speaker 8: this ship up?
• 26:43
Speaker 4: You know, because people follow up with us.
• 26:45
Speaker 8: Because my wife and I a sick and tired of
• 26:47
Speaker 8: giving advice to people. Look that they don't take up.
• 26:50
Speaker 5: That's true. So this comes with the price. There's going
• 26:53
Speaker 5: to be follow up.
• 26:54
Speaker 4: Come on, all right, well, and you can demand it
• 26:56
Speaker 4: of the colors when they come on, you can say
• 26:57
Speaker 4: you better follow the caller.
• 26:59
  Speaker 5: That's that's a good approach.
• 27:00
Speaker 4: Well, this one's just an email, but I thought this
• 27:02
Speaker 4: would be a good one. We were just talking about traveling,
• 27:04
Speaker 4: and you know, especially since you have two grown kids,
• 27:07
Speaker 4: you might have some insight on this. Elizabeth says, Dear Chelsea,
• 27:11
Speaker 4: for the sake of sisterhood, help a girl out back
• 27:13
Speaker 4: on our third date. Eighteen years and two kids ago,
• 27:16
Speaker 4: my husband and I dreamed of living abroad for a
• 27:19
Speaker 4: year or two. Think Europe Asia, epic memories before our
• 27:22
Speaker 4: kids hit high school and stop thinking we're cool. We
• 27:25
Speaker 4: fell in love with Barcelona a decade ago and said
• 27:28
Speaker 4: this is the place. Well, one day is now. Our
• 27:31
Speaker 4: sons headed into sixth, daughter into third, and the clock
• 27:34
Speaker 4: is ticking. We can technically afford it in the long run,
• 27:37
Speaker 4: but my husband, who runs his own law practice, calls
• 27:39
Speaker 4: it quote financial suicide. Meanwhile, I've been in and out
• 27:42
Speaker 4: of full time work since COVID, and the plan would
• 27:45
Speaker 4: be for me to be on team logistics while he
• 27:46
Speaker 4: keeps the lights on. He feels the pressure. I get it,
• 27:49
Speaker 4: but also, yolo, how do I get him to jump?
• 27:53
Speaker 4: We both want this. We're dreamers. This country is a
• 27:55
Speaker 4: dumpster fire. The kids are still impressionable, and honestly, the
• 27:58
Speaker 4: crisp Spanish white wine is calling tips Pep talk, Chelsea Wisdom.
• 28:03
Speaker 4: I'll take it all, Elizabeth.
• 28:04
Speaker 1: I mean, I think you have to go for it.
• 28:06
  Speaker 6: You have to.
• 28:07
Speaker 2: First of all, no time like the present, especially with
• 28:09
Speaker 2: what's happening in our country. Yeah, great reason to get
• 28:12
Speaker 2: out of there, and great reason to expose your kids.
• 28:14
Speaker 2: I mean, I'm surprised they're even willing to take their
• 28:16
Speaker 2: eight and third grader, eight year old and eight and
• 28:20
Speaker 2: third grade, whatever the ages are.
• 28:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, it has taken.
• 28:22
Speaker 2: But I mean, if they made that a agreement, then
• 28:25
Speaker 2: they should follow through on that.
• 28:26
  Speaker 1: That's a good idea. Don't you think I think it's
• 28:28
  Speaker 1: idea you do?
• 28:29
Speaker 5: No, I'm joking. Absolutely.
• 28:32
Speaker 8: It is the best thing they will ever do for
• 28:34
Speaker 8: their kids, for their marriage, for themselves. I understand Hobby's
• 28:38
Speaker 8: point of view. He's been stressed about it, but ten
• 28:40
Speaker 8: years from now he won't. He'll look back and go,
• 28:42
Speaker 8: I don't know why I was stressed about that financial situation.
• 28:44
Speaker 8: I made good on that, like within two years, but
• 28:47
Speaker 8: the kids will never forget it. Our kids traveled a
• 28:50
Speaker 8: lot through my job. They remember every single location we
• 28:54
Speaker 8: ever shot in. They remember absolute specific So it's a
• 28:58
Speaker 8: no brainer. You've got to do or how do you
• 29:01
Speaker 8: get the husband over the line? You tell him, threaten him,
• 29:04
Speaker 8: Oh no, it only gets harder as the kids get older.
• 29:07
Speaker 8: If you don't do it now, you will not do it.
• 29:08
Speaker 8: And listen, don't let him say you know what let's
• 29:11
Speaker 8: checking again in two years.
• 29:12
Speaker 4: That's sixth grade is right before junior high.
• 29:15
Speaker 1: You got to go yeah, yeah, right, you do.
• 29:17
  Speaker 3: You have to.
• 29:17
Speaker 2: And also you have to take life by the balls,
• 29:19
Speaker 2: Like you know, saying something like it's a financial suicide
• 29:22
Speaker 2: is very dramatic. Yes, it's actually not going to be
• 29:24
Speaker 2: financial suicide. You'll figure it out, and everyone does figure this.
• 29:27
Speaker 4: And even to that end, like I'm not exactly sure
• 29:30
Speaker 4: about the logistics, but like he could have a paralegal
• 29:32
Speaker 4: or an assistant who's stateside and in your time zone
• 29:35
Speaker 4: and he can be working remotely, I would imagine.
• 29:37
Speaker 8: But you know what else that the financial suicide. Think
• 29:40
Speaker 8: that's something that's in your head when you're in your
• 29:42
Speaker 8: current bubble, and the minute they land in where is it, Barcelona,
• 29:46
Speaker 8: the words financial suicide will slip out of his brain.
• 29:49
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 29:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with that. You're always worried about the thing.
• 29:52
Speaker 5: Get on that plane.
• 29:53
Speaker 4: Yeah, and it'd be great for your kids to learn Spanish.
• 29:55
Speaker 4: That's really important for Americans. And then also like they're
• 29:58
Speaker 4: not just going to be in Barcelona, You're gonna be
• 30:00
Speaker 4: taking weekend trips all over.
• 30:01
Speaker 1: Yet you guys can go spend time in my house
• 30:03
Speaker 1: in my Orca. I mean perfect, yeah, hello.
• 30:06
Speaker 4: All right done, Elizabeth. Let your husband know, but a
• 30:09
Speaker 4: guy and I want to hear.
• 30:10
Speaker 5: I want to hear. I want to from with you. Okay,
• 30:14
Speaker 5: you can count on that.
• 30:15
Speaker 4: And you know what, I'll even say, Elizabeth, if your
• 30:17
Speaker 4: husband is not convinced, you guys can call in for
• 30:19
  Speaker 4: a couple's counseling with Eric.
• 30:21
Speaker 2: Bana just told me to It's not gonna there's not
• 30:24
Speaker 2: going to be a bigger conversation after that.
• 30:26
  Speaker 5: I don't think I don't think.
• 30:30
  Speaker 3: Well.
• 30:31
Speaker 4: Our first caller is James. James is from Louisiana, and
• 30:35
Speaker 4: he says, you're Chelsea. I'm a twenty six year old
• 30:37
Speaker 4: bisexual man from South Louisiana. I've only been with men
• 30:40
Speaker 4: since coming out about six years ago. I live in
• 30:42
Speaker 4: a small town where everyone knows everybody's business. This past
• 30:46
Speaker 4: Christmas Eve, my mom was in the Dollar General when
• 30:49
Speaker 4: the mother of an old friend of mine walked up
• 30:50
Speaker 4: to her. She proceeded to tell my mom that she
• 30:53
Speaker 4: thinks her daughter's child is mine. Within the first couple
• 30:56
Speaker 4: of minutes of hearing this, I was in denial, but
• 30:59
Speaker 4: after looking through pictures, though, I'm convinced the child is mine.
• 31:02
Speaker 4: The quote unquote father of the child doesn't know this information,
• 31:05
Speaker 4: and the mother is in a mental health facility for
• 31:07
Speaker 4: eighteen months getting help. I'm at a loss for words
• 31:10
Speaker 4: over this one and would love some advice. Thanks for
• 31:12
Speaker 4: everything you do. James.
• 31:14
Speaker 2: Whoa, whoa, James Hi. This is our special guest, Eric
• 31:17
  Speaker 2: Fanna today.
• 31:18
Speaker 5: James Hi. It's nice to meet Chill.
• 31:20
Speaker 4: Right, and James is having about of Bell's palsy, so
• 31:22
Speaker 4: we have a little bit of a slurred speech, no problem, Yeah, okay, yeah.
• 31:27
Speaker 1: Well it sounds like you're dealing with a lot of
• 31:28
Speaker 1: stuff right now. Yes, I am. And how do you
• 31:31
Speaker 1: think you want to handle this.
• 31:33
Speaker 7: I'm still just kind of like dealing with this at
• 31:35
Speaker 7: the moment. But as far as like the kids situation goes,
• 31:39
Speaker 7: I mean, I've had a similar view on kids as
• 31:41
Speaker 7: you have, and I've never really especially I haven't been
• 31:45
Speaker 7: with a girls since like twenty eighteen, so that's something.
• 31:49
Speaker 7: But then what's really pulling me in are the amount
• 31:54
Speaker 7: of like concerning things like with the child's father supposed
• 31:57
Speaker 7: to father, he has like a Confederate flag on the
• 32:01
Speaker 7: back of his truck, which is like all you need
• 32:03
Speaker 7: to know about that, and especially growing up down here.
• 32:06
Speaker 7: My cousin actually babysit the child before because it's just
• 32:10
Speaker 7: small town. Everyone knows everyone. She had like seen a
• 32:13
Speaker 7: picture of the kid on the fridge and had acts like, Hey,
• 32:19
Speaker 7: is that James the mom? She said, no, that's the kid,
• 32:24
Speaker 7: but we think that James is the kid's father, and
• 32:27
Speaker 7: told her not to say anything. And this is like
• 32:29
Speaker 7: a few months before she admitted herself into that mental
• 32:32
Speaker 7: health facility for fifteen months. So yeah, and then there's
• 32:36
Speaker 7: little things like the kid liked my little pony and
• 32:38
Speaker 7: stuff like that. And you also have like a brother
• 32:41
Speaker 7: who's a complete opposite, more similar to the father.
• 32:44
Speaker 2: But you definitely had sex with this woman, right, Oh yeah,
• 32:47
Speaker 2: you could be the father.
• 32:49
  Speaker 7: I did once.
• 32:50
Speaker 1: Yes, Oh okay, so you could be the father. I
• 32:52
Speaker 1: could be the father. Wow, that's heavy, But you don't know.
• 32:57
  Speaker 4: We don't.
• 32:57
Speaker 7: And my mom was in talks with the grandmother about
• 33:01
Speaker 7: like a DNA test and stuff like that, but they
• 33:05
Speaker 7: kind of thought it would be a better idea to
• 33:06
Speaker 7: wait until she gets out so she doesn't feel like blindsided, which.
• 33:11
Speaker 1: I yeah, sure, yeah, yeah.
• 33:13
Speaker 2: I mean she's already got a husband with a Confederate flag, so.
• 33:16
Speaker 7: Yeah, and they're actually so they're not really like together.
• 33:19
  Speaker 5: Okay.
• 33:19
Speaker 1: Another thing, who's looking after this little girl right now?
• 33:22
  Speaker 1: Her grandparents So.
• 33:24
  Speaker 7: It's a it's a boy, but yeah, her grandparents, and
• 33:27
Speaker 7: she's staying with it.
• 33:28
Speaker 5: They're staying with the dad.
• 33:30
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 33:31
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you need to process exactly how you
• 33:34
Speaker 2: want to approach this before you actually make any move,
• 33:36
Speaker 2: you know what I mean. Since it's a huge responsibility
• 33:39
Speaker 2: and it is like the rest of your life, you
• 33:41
Speaker 2: first of all want to go about it the right
• 33:43
Speaker 2: way and actually make sure that she is your daughter
• 33:45
Speaker 2: one hundred percent and do a DNA test because son, sorry,
• 33:50
Speaker 2: I'm sorry, sorry, and do a DNA test, but also
• 33:54
Speaker 2: figure out what the timing of that, what the timing is,
• 33:56
Speaker 2: and what makes most sense with regard to the mother
• 33:59
Speaker 2: being in facility, right Like, there's a lot of delicate
• 34:02
  Speaker 2: issues around.
• 34:03
Speaker 7: This, correct, And she does get out in November, so okay.
• 34:09
  Speaker 5: That's something.
• 34:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think maybe at that time you can take
• 34:11
Speaker 2: it upon yourself to suggest that you know, in a
• 34:14
Speaker 2: face to face with her about.
• 34:16
Speaker 1: Doing a DNA test or if she thinks that you're
• 34:18
Speaker 1: the father, you might not be that's also true.
• 34:21
Speaker 2: So yeah, so it's not like, you know, a black
• 34:23
Speaker 2: and white situation just yet. I think it's a very
• 34:25
Speaker 2: something that you really have to handle with a lot
• 34:27
Speaker 2: of delicacy, you know, until you actually do a DNA test.
• 34:31
  Speaker 5: Got you?
• 34:32
Speaker 4: Do you think that he should have a conversation with
• 34:35
Speaker 4: the grandma, the one who approached his mom, and just
• 34:37
Speaker 4: just to sort of like get the lay of the
• 34:39
Speaker 4: land with the supposed father and the mom.
• 34:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that would be Are you up for that?
• 34:46
Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm totally up for that.
• 34:47
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 34:48
Speaker 2: I think you just be as nice and reasonable as
• 34:50
Speaker 2: you as you obviously are, and have a conversation with
• 34:54
Speaker 2: her if she's the one who initiated that conversation, follow
• 34:56
Speaker 2: up with it like any responsible adult male would you
• 34:59
  Speaker 2: know or follow.
• 35:01
Speaker 7: Julie walked up to my mom and Dollar General and
• 35:03
Speaker 7: was like, so, I don't know if it's my place,
• 35:06
Speaker 7: but I think your child is my grandson's dad and
• 35:10
Speaker 7: it's just like on Christmas Eve, so.
• 35:12
Speaker 5: It's just a lot. Now, how old is the boy?
• 35:18
Speaker 4: He's like seven, yeah, so this will be something for
• 35:20
Speaker 4: him to process too, like when and if it comes out.
• 35:23
Speaker 2: Yes, I think be very thoughtful don't have unnecessary interactions
• 35:28
Speaker 2: with the child until you know for sure what the
• 35:30
Speaker 2: situation is, and start with the grandmother. And then in
• 35:34
Speaker 2: November when when the mother comes out, then you can
• 35:37
Speaker 2: have a conversation with her too, and then just take
• 35:40
Speaker 2: steps in the direction of finding out for sure, but
• 35:43
Speaker 2: don't do anything rash right now.
• 35:46
Speaker 7: Her And then I also have a boyfriend.
• 35:48
Speaker 1: Another question. This is a doubleheader that.
• 35:50
Speaker 7: Cast some tension at the time. We've actually built on
• 35:53
Speaker 7: our relationships, so I think that would be fine if
• 35:56
Speaker 7: it came down to it. But that's just a whole
• 35:58
Speaker 7: another thing, because it's like.
• 36:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, but again, I think you're getting ahead of yourself.
• 36:01
Speaker 2: I think you just take it one step in a time.
• 36:04
Speaker 2: You do not have to solve all of the problems
• 36:05
  Speaker 2: on one.
• 36:06
Speaker 1: Day, you know, right, that's my problem. Yeah, so just.
• 36:09
Speaker 2: Don't overwhelm yourself. You know, you're dealing with a lot,
• 36:12
Speaker 2: so just take it. The first step is you're going
• 36:13
Speaker 2: to have a conversation with the grandmother.
• 36:15
Speaker 4: Heard, And I would also say check out our episode
• 36:19
Speaker 4: we did with Caramo Brown because he has a really
• 36:21
Speaker 4: similar story, like he had sex with woman once and
• 36:25
Speaker 4: you know, found out way later that he had a
• 36:27
Speaker 4: child with her and now they have a wonderful relationship.
• 36:31
Speaker 4: So check that episode out.
• 36:33
  Speaker 5: Awesome.
• 36:33
Speaker 1: Okay, well, thanks for calling in.
• 36:35
  Speaker 4: Thanks James Black.
• 36:37
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 36:38
Speaker 7: Absolutely, And just lastly, anyone who's on Medicaid, there's a
• 36:42
Speaker 7: lot going on right now, and when this happened, I
• 36:44
Speaker 7: didn't realize that I was thrown off of it. So
• 36:47
Speaker 7: anyone who's on it, anything can happen anytime. And make
• 36:49
Speaker 7: sure that you're keeping up with your deadlines and stuff
• 36:52
Speaker 7: like that, because they're trying to trick people left and right. Yeah,
• 36:55
Speaker 7: just to throw that out, there's some scary stuff.
• 36:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a really good reminder.
• 37:00
Speaker 4: I mean, I know any of us can have unexpected
• 37:02
Speaker 4: medical bills crop up, So if anyone wants to pitch
• 37:05
Speaker 4: in and help with James's medical bills, I will put
• 37:08
Speaker 4: a link in the description.
• 37:09
  Speaker 5: Dear Chelsea.
• 37:10
Speaker 4: Listeners are always so amazing at helping folks out, and
• 37:13
Speaker 4: it's a pretty small amount, so I'm sure we can
• 37:15
Speaker 4: make a good dent in that.
• 37:16
Speaker 2: Okay, thanks James, thank you.
• 37:21
Speaker 4: Nice to meet follow up with us.
• 37:24
Speaker 1: Oh god, I know.
• 37:28
  Speaker 6: Barcelona.
• 37:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, needs to go with that other family to Barcelona.
• 37:32
Speaker 2: Oh man, I know, can you imagine if you found
• 37:35
Speaker 2: out that we had a baby together, Eric, can you
• 37:37
Speaker 2: imagine what would you do?
• 37:39
  Speaker 6: Well?
• 37:40
Speaker 2: I mean, and you wouldn't haven even remembered how it
• 37:42
Speaker 2: happens that. No, you would have been like you, I mean, no,
• 37:49
Speaker 2: not so quick, you just I mean, it's a lot
• 37:54
  Speaker 2: to deal with.
• 37:56
Speaker 1: Unexpected things in life. It's a lot to deal with that.
• 37:59
  Speaker 5: No, that's that's a lot. It's a lot.
• 38:01
Speaker 4: It's a lot lot now, I mean, but as a dad,
• 38:04
Speaker 4: you know, obviously it's a different situation. But as a dad,
• 38:07
Speaker 4: I mean, I would assume you would encourage him to
• 38:09
Speaker 4: like try to develop a relationship with us kid, right.
• 38:12
Speaker 2: But once you know for sure just takes what someone
• 38:15
Speaker 2: says at face value like dollar general and you know
• 38:19
  Speaker 2: what what the.
• 38:20
Speaker 8: Hard thing also is like I didn't want to ask
• 38:22
Speaker 8: James this, but it's like, how would he feel would
• 38:25
Speaker 8: he feel better or worse if you found out tomorrow
• 38:27
Speaker 8: that the kid wasn't.
• 38:28
Speaker 1: His most good questions? You ask it?
• 38:31
Speaker 5: You guys were talking, I was talking about past I'm.
• 38:35
Speaker 2: So sorry, you know, Like, you know what, I'd take
• 38:38
Speaker 2: a pain pell today for my foot because I wanted
• 38:40
Speaker 2: to be coherent for this interview. I wish I had
• 38:41
Speaker 2: taken it now I really do.
• 38:44
  Speaker 5: I don't know.
• 38:45
Speaker 8: I mean, would he be relieved or would he be
• 38:47
Speaker 8: would he be devastating?
• 38:49
Speaker 5: For how many years now has he thought that this
• 38:51
  Speaker 5: child is his?
• 38:53
Speaker 2: Just recently the Dollar General store interaction? Do we have
• 38:59
  Speaker 2: an easier question?
• 39:00
Speaker 1: Do you want me to do.
• 39:01
Speaker 5: Leg something to do with motorcycles?
• 39:05
Speaker 2: Have a Lego set of motorcycles that you can put together?
• 39:08
  Speaker 1: You know what?
• 39:08
Speaker 2: A lot of grown men are into Legos? Now do
• 39:10
Speaker 2: you know that it's a thing.
• 39:13
Speaker 4: My sister into Legos. She's like a relaxing thing. I
• 39:17
  Speaker 4: put together Legos.
• 39:18
Speaker 1: But are these more intricate crazy?
• 39:20
Speaker 4: I think they're cute and there's you know, you can
• 39:23
Speaker 4: do like a little flower pot or like different fun
• 39:25
Speaker 4: cute things, or like the set of Harry Potter.
• 39:27
Speaker 8: Recently a Formula one race, the the the trophies were
• 39:32
  Speaker 8: sponsored by Legos.
• 39:33
Speaker 5: They got their podium trophies in Lego.
• 39:36
Speaker 8: I'm not sure that goes in the cabinet with all
• 39:38
Speaker 8: the and what happens if you drop it?
• 39:41
Speaker 5: Like someone come around.
• 39:42
Speaker 2: I think they're different Legos now, like they stick together,
• 39:45
  Speaker 2: It's not.
• 39:46
Speaker 5: Like it's they fell apart.
• 39:48
Speaker 2: I went to my first Formula One race at Barcelona
• 39:50
Speaker 2: a couple of months ago.
• 39:51
Speaker 5: You love it. Yeah, it's it's a very particular thing.
• 39:55
Speaker 2: It's it's I felt watching those guys get stuffed into
• 39:58
Speaker 2: those cars with that dry I was being blown in
• 40:01
Speaker 2: their faces to cool them down. Made me feel And
• 40:04
Speaker 2: I just can't believe that those guys are in the
• 40:06
Speaker 2: car for two and a half hours.
• 40:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know it was that long. So it
• 40:10
Speaker 1: was pretty intense and it's definitely athletic.
• 40:13
  Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's a.
• 40:14
Speaker 8: Different It's also like I love it, but there is
• 40:16
Speaker 8: a point where I do prefer watching it at home,
• 40:18
Speaker 8: Like I do love being at the track sometimes, but
• 40:20
Speaker 8: for the race, I do actually really like watching it
• 40:23
Speaker 8: at home with all the commentary and stuff. But no,
• 40:26
  Speaker 8: it's a pretty incredible environment. I was recently on a
• 40:29
Speaker 8: trip around Europe with a buddy of mine for a
• 40:31
Speaker 8: few weeks on motorcycles, and we took in some motor
• 40:34
Speaker 8: racing and went to the Austrian Formula one race, which
• 40:37
Speaker 8: is great to compare it to because we have Melbourne
• 40:40
Speaker 8: Formula one which is like five minutes from home, and
• 40:42
Speaker 8: it was great to compare the differences. But yeah, it's
• 40:45
Speaker 8: a whole other one.
• 40:46
Speaker 1: You've never driven in one of those races, not a.
• 40:48
Speaker 5: Formula one can No, I've done a lot of racing,
• 40:49
  Speaker 5: like GT three.
• 40:50
Speaker 1: You don't have to be defensive about it.
• 40:53
  Speaker 6: No.
• 40:53
Speaker 8: I wasn't being small dicked about it at all. I
• 40:55
Speaker 8: was just, you know, trying to claim my bona fides.
• 40:59
Speaker 1: There was a long conversation.
• 41:00
Speaker 2: Brad Pitt was recently on Dax's podcast and they were
• 41:03
Speaker 2: talking about Formula one for almost two hours, and I
• 41:05
Speaker 2: texted Dax and I was like, I can't believe you
• 41:07
Speaker 2: think people want to.
• 41:08
Speaker 5: Listen to this ship.
• 41:09
Speaker 1: People are so each I.
• 41:11
Speaker 2: Just can't people love Formula one like they love it.
• 41:15
Speaker 2: And the reason I went in Barcelona's because I was performing.
• 41:17
Speaker 2: I was doing a show and my cousins wanted to go.
• 41:20
Speaker 2: She's like, come on, let's go, you'll get the VIP treatment.
• 41:22
Speaker 2: I was like, okay, we'll go, and then they put
• 41:24
Speaker 2: me on the pad or like the pit or.
• 41:26
Speaker 5: The what's it called? Which tame? Were you with you,
• 41:29
  Speaker 5: William Williams?
• 41:31
Speaker 2: They both lost that day. Of course, you know what
• 41:32
  Speaker 2: I mean?
• 41:33
Speaker 5: Do you have the headphones on and we have to
• 41:34
Speaker 5: listen to all of.
• 41:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I did for a while,
• 41:37
Speaker 2: but you know what the best part was the catering.
• 41:39
Speaker 1: I mean I've been to a lot of VIP like Wimbledon.
• 41:42
Speaker 1: You know where you go to.
• 41:42
  Speaker 5: These suites and.
• 41:46
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I get a hour.
• 41:47
Speaker 2: I was in Glastonbury and then I went to Wimbledon
• 41:49
Speaker 2: and that's where what happened with my foot?
• 41:52
Speaker 5: What's next? What made your event are taken off? Next?
• 41:55
Speaker 5: Have you done the Australian Open.
• 41:57
Speaker 1: I'm going to do the Australia do you go?
• 41:59
  Speaker 5: Yeah?
• 42:00
Speaker 2: Fucking love tennis. I was just watching Wimbledon this morning
• 42:02
Speaker 2: before I came over here. Yeah, Alchoriz just one and
• 42:05
Speaker 2: Sinner's playing jo is he beating him?
• 42:08
Speaker 1: Really? How do you feel about that?
• 42:11
Speaker 8: I have a lot of respect for Job. I mean
• 42:13
Speaker 8: I've seen so many of his finals in Melbourne. Like
• 42:15
  Speaker 8: he's just a freak. I mean yeah, I mean I
• 42:18
Speaker 8: love Siner as well. Like it's it's it's handing over
• 42:21
Speaker 8: the guard, isn't it right? I just hope there's going
• 42:23
Speaker 8: to be a third Alchris.
• 42:24
Speaker 5: We need someone else, Yeah, we need a third one.
• 42:26
Speaker 1: Alcoriz is so much fun to watch, Like, I love him,
• 42:29
Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
• 42:30
Speaker 2: Sinner It's an amazing player, but it's less fun to
• 42:33
Speaker 2: watch that, you know, it used to be Dan hill Ski.
• 42:36
Speaker 1: Choose between skiing and tennis, just like I had.
• 42:39
Speaker 5: To choose him. I chose skis podcast.
• 42:41
  Speaker 1: I chose a podcast.
• 42:42
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 42:43
Speaker 4: Well, Kate is deciding about whether to stay with her
• 42:46
Speaker 4: long time well husband.
• 42:47
Speaker 1: I guess, well, this is this will be something, this
• 42:50
Speaker 1: will be something that Rebecca could relate to.
• 42:53
Speaker 4: So Kate is thirty six, and she says, Dear Chelsea,
• 42:57
Speaker 4: I've been married for almost eight years, together with this
• 43:00
Speaker 4: for almost twenty years now. Recently, some things have come
• 43:03
Speaker 4: up that I think I've always known deep down but
• 43:05
Speaker 4: never wanted to fully admit. My husband is so smart
• 43:08
Speaker 4: and talented in so many ways, but has never reached
• 43:11
Speaker 4: his full potential. He's always bounced between dead end jobs
• 43:14
Speaker 4: and unemployment. He drained our savings training to be a pilot,
• 43:17
Speaker 4: but that never went anywhere. In the meantime, I've worked
• 43:20
Speaker 4: my ass off to be where I'm at in a
• 43:22
Speaker 4: great career and have always been the main one supporting
• 43:25
Speaker 4: our household. It's exhausting. He always had excuses as to
• 43:28
Speaker 4: why he didn't get promoted or doesn't get better jobs.
• 43:31
Speaker 4: I always believed him and have been rooting for him
• 43:33
Speaker 4: since day one, thinking this next job will be it,
• 43:36
Speaker 4: It'll be the one to lead to a good career.
• 43:38
Speaker 4: But it never happens, and I'm finally realizing it's him.
• 43:41
Speaker 4: He's the problem. He has no motivation and show zero initiative.
• 43:45
Speaker 4: That's why I'm writing, after all, my quote nagging. He
• 43:48
Speaker 4: recently admitted that he's content with low level jobs forever.
• 43:52
Speaker 4: He doesn't need anything more to make him happy or fulfilled.
• 43:55
Speaker 4: I accept him for who he is, but I've always
• 43:57
Speaker 4: wanted more for myself, and the resentment is really so
• 44:00
  Speaker 4: to build up.
• 44:01
  Speaker 6: Now.
• 44:01
Speaker 4: My question is do I stay with him out of
• 44:04
Speaker 4: love and except that I'll never reach my financial goals
• 44:06
Speaker 4: because he's holding us back. Or is it time I
• 44:08
Speaker 4: let him go and accept that I might just be
• 44:10
Speaker 4: alone forever. I'm so torn and don't want to end
• 44:13
Speaker 4: up regretting my decision ears down the line. Thank you, Kate.
• 44:17
Speaker 1: Jesus, this is another's a shaker, like bringing the drama. Hi, Kate,
• 44:22
Speaker 1: this is Eric Barner. He's here to help you today.
• 44:26
  Speaker 3: Hi.
• 44:26
Speaker 1: Wow, that was a heavy letter. That's heavy thinking.
• 44:29
Speaker 6: Yeah, it's been way on me.
• 44:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, it sounds like it. It sounds like it.
• 44:33
Speaker 2: I would say to you, if you're talking about resentment,
• 44:36
Speaker 2: that really does go away. You know, if you're going
• 44:39
Speaker 2: to accept somebody for who they are, that's one thing.
• 44:42
Speaker 2: But he's kind of falsely advertising who he really is,
• 44:46
Speaker 2: who he really was to a degree, So there's an
• 44:49
Speaker 2: that adds another layer of resentment. And I would say
• 44:52
Speaker 2: I wouldn't look at this decision as like a binary choice,
• 44:56
Speaker 2: like Okay, I'm staying or going. It's actually, now that
• 44:58
Speaker 2: you've written all of this it out loud, you're calling in,
• 45:01
Speaker 2: you're acknowledging all these feelings. It's kind of like, okay,
• 45:05
Speaker 2: well where does this new information take you? Now that
• 45:07
Speaker 2: you know he's content living like that. I don't want
• 45:11
Speaker 2: you to look at it like what if I'm alone forever?
• 45:13
Speaker 2: Don't think at anything like that, Like that's not the option.
• 45:16
Speaker 2: It's not him or you're alone forever. You could meet
• 45:18
Speaker 2: somebody else down the road. You could meet somebody in
• 45:20
Speaker 2: two months, you could meet somebody in two years. You
• 45:21
Speaker 2: never know who you're going to meet. I doubt you're
• 45:23
Speaker 2: gonna be alone. Most people aren't. Just by everything that
• 45:26
Speaker 2: you're saying, it sounds like you're getting ready to make
• 45:29
  Speaker 2: a move.
• 45:30
Speaker 3: I'm definitely leaning on that side of I think that's
• 45:33
Speaker 3: where my head is at. I think I just I
• 45:36
Speaker 3: don't know. I just love having like an outside perspective of, like,
• 45:40
Speaker 3: am I making the right choice? I don't know, just
• 45:43
Speaker 3: any sort of validation that I'm not screwing this up
• 45:47
Speaker 3: by leaving. It's just a lot of mixed emotions, so
• 45:50
Speaker 3: any I'm just trying to talk to a therapist, I'm
• 45:53
Speaker 3: trying to talk to all my friends, I'm trying to
• 45:54
Speaker 3: talk to family. Outside perspectives is you know. I'm just
• 45:58
Speaker 3: trying to not make like a rash move immediately.
• 46:01
Speaker 1: And just like right, I think that's smart.
• 46:03
Speaker 2: I don't think it should be a rash move, but
• 46:05
Speaker 2: I think you should acknowledge everything that you're feeling. Like,
• 46:08
Speaker 2: if you have a lot of resentment, that's not necessarily
• 46:09
Speaker 2: just going to disappear. Being ambitious and wanting more for
• 46:12
Speaker 2: yourself is not selfish. That's the type of person you are,
• 46:16
Speaker 2: and acknowledging that is really important. As a woman, it's
• 46:18
Speaker 2: really important also to acknowledge that and not to be
• 46:21
Speaker 2: held back by this idea of like loyalty or love,
• 46:25
Speaker 2: like he'll be okay too. Everyone survives, People get divorced
• 46:27
Speaker 2: all the time. If that's the road that you go down,
• 46:30
Speaker 2: you really just also have to honor where you see
• 46:32
Speaker 2: yourself in your life, like take the time that is
• 46:34
Speaker 2: necessary to make a deep decision like this and spend
• 46:37
Speaker 2: time alone with yourself, with your thoughts, with a therapist
• 46:41
Speaker 2: and really contemplate how you see your future moving forward
• 46:44
Speaker 2: without him, if that's you know, one option, and how
• 46:48
Speaker 2: it would look with him.
• 46:50
Speaker 6: Yeah, and I think that's. Yeah.
• 46:51
Speaker 3: Kind of what I've been talking to with my therapist
• 46:53
Speaker 3: is just like what my values are and I feel
• 46:55
Speaker 3: like we're just kind of growing apart, and like my
• 46:58
Speaker 3: values and his values maybe don't line at this point,
• 47:01
Speaker 3: like maybe dated ten years ago, but at this point,
• 47:03
Speaker 3: I feel like I'm trying to continue to grow myself
• 47:07
Speaker 3: and like improve myself, and I just don't think that
• 47:10
Speaker 3: he cares to do that.
• 47:12
Speaker 6: And so yeah, if those values don't ALIGNE.
• 47:15
Speaker 2: Like it's not even values, it's just kind of like
• 47:18
Speaker 2: values almost sounds like you're judging him for It's it's
• 47:22
Speaker 2: what you want, your desires, Like you're desiring a different
• 47:25
Speaker 2: type of life. It's not like he's a bad guy
• 47:28
  Speaker 2: and you're a good person.
• 47:29
Speaker 1: It's not like that.
• 47:30
Speaker 2: It's just that you kind of seem like you're on
• 47:32
Speaker 2: two different trajectories. He's content with where he is and
• 47:35
  Speaker 2: you're not.
• 47:36
Speaker 8: So school also be really, really tough because you guys
• 47:39
Speaker 8: obviously met really young.
• 47:40
Speaker 5: You've been together for a long time.
• 47:42
Speaker 6: So he did since like nineteen twenty.
• 47:45
Speaker 8: Yeah, so in a lot of ways, you didn't get
• 47:48
Speaker 8: to see your fully formed partner until you were well
• 47:51
Speaker 8: and truly truly married. So like if you had a
• 47:54
Speaker 8: met in your mid twenties, it's maybe a little different.
• 47:57
Speaker 8: You might have identified things in your husband that you
• 48:00
Speaker 8: can now that would have been less negotiable up until now.
• 48:03
Speaker 5: I'm really sorry you're in this position.
• 48:06
Speaker 8: There's a naive part of me that goes, oh, he
• 48:08
Speaker 8: sounds like a really I don't want to say, low
• 48:11
Speaker 8: maintenance husband. But is he happy with I know so
• 48:14
Speaker 8: many men who are so so driven and have achieved
• 48:17
Speaker 8: so much, and it was so miserable and bitter, and
• 48:20
Speaker 8: then I hear this, so I'm like, oh, this guy
• 48:22
Speaker 8: doesn't have as much as a lot of people. But
• 48:24
Speaker 8: is he Is he truly happy? Or I don't know
• 48:27
Speaker 8: enough about him to be able to make, you know,
• 48:29
Speaker 8: that sort of a sort of a call. But there's
• 48:31
Speaker 8: a side of me that goes that's kind of a
• 48:33
Speaker 8: really nice thing as well. That's someone who's not crazily driven,
• 48:36
Speaker 8: still really happy with their lot in life, and he
• 48:38
Speaker 8: probably I'm hoping he adores you. So there's that side obviously,
• 48:42
Speaker 8: but I can hear in your voice maybe that's not
• 48:45
Speaker 8: fully the case. It's a real it's a real tough one.
• 48:48
Speaker 8: But you could also end up with someone who's all
• 48:50
Speaker 8: the things you want, who's incredibly driven, who's who's maybe
• 48:54
Speaker 8: never home and he's just miserable all the time. I mean,
• 48:57
Speaker 8: that's also possible, right right. I'm not discounting any of
• 48:59
Speaker 8: the way feeling is Chelsea.
• 49:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, I just think it's really important as women, first
• 49:03
Speaker 2: and foremost to really honor the like thoughts and feelings
• 49:07
Speaker 2: you have around a relationship and not stay there for
• 49:10
  Speaker 2: someone else.
• 49:11
Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
• 49:11
Speaker 2: You really have to look out for yourself because no
• 49:14
Speaker 2: one else is going to look out for you, but you,
• 49:16
Speaker 2: like no one is going to make the best decisions
• 49:18
Speaker 2: for yourself, and whatever your decision ends up being is
• 49:20
Speaker 2: going to be the right one anyway. You know, you're
• 49:22
Speaker 2: going to make a left or you're going to make
• 49:23
Speaker 2: a right, and you're going to double down in that direction.
• 49:26
Speaker 2: And if you stay, you're going to double down on
• 49:27
Speaker 2: your marriage, and good things can come from that too.
• 49:30
Speaker 2: It's kind of like almost like you have to become
• 49:32
Speaker 2: non emotional about it.
• 49:33
Speaker 3: You know. Yeah, that's a hard part because yeah, I
• 49:37
Speaker 3: completely agree with Yeah, he's such a great person and
• 49:41
Speaker 3: like that's why I look at my life like, well,
• 49:43
Speaker 3: I mean, anybody that's so low maintenance as him.
• 49:46
Speaker 6: He's like the most low maintenance person ever.
• 49:49
Speaker 3: But yeah, like the same thing you're saying to Chelsea, Like,
• 49:52
  Speaker 3: I I'm a woman and I feel like I need
• 49:54
Speaker 3: to look out for myself and like my desires.
• 49:57
  Speaker 6: I don't know, it's just it's such a hard place
• 49:59
  Speaker 6: to be in.
• 50:00
Speaker 2: So there's no rush at all. You know, it's good
• 50:03
Speaker 2: to just really like think. I mean, the only bad
• 50:05
Speaker 2: decisions are the really impulsive ones. So as long as
• 50:09
Speaker 2: you're putting a lot of thought into this, you're going
• 50:11
Speaker 2: to come out and make the right.
• 50:12
  Speaker 5: Decision, I hope.
• 50:13
Speaker 4: So one thing that might help as you're sort of
• 50:15
Speaker 4: making this decision is you wouldn't help to.
• 50:18
Speaker 2: Have sex with Eric Bannett, would that help and making
• 50:21
Speaker 2: this decision on offer because we can do this right now?
• 50:25
Speaker 1: Okay, ye, would you be willing to do that if
• 50:28
Speaker 1: you thought it would help Eric?
• 50:32
Speaker 5: He acts like this, but you know, I'm sorry shy,
• 50:37
Speaker 5: and he's like, she's sharing her thinking out loud. That's good.
• 50:46
Speaker 1: I mean, this is a good solution.
• 50:47
  Speaker 5: Actually, I mean this wasn't.
• 50:50
Speaker 1: Look here we are now here we are.
• 50:53
Speaker 4: But as you're sort of like dealing with these two
• 50:55
Speaker 4: like very different decisions, one thing you can do is
• 50:59
Speaker 4: pretend like you made a decision one way and sit
• 51:01
Speaker 4: with it for a couple of days and feel how
• 51:04
Speaker 4: it fails. And then take a couple of days where
• 51:06
Speaker 4: you've quote unquote made the other decision and like see
• 51:09
Speaker 4: which one feels good, which one feels like a relief
• 51:13
  Speaker 4: to you.
• 51:14
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 51:15
Speaker 3: Yeah, I've kind of been doing that over the last
• 51:17
Speaker 3: couple of months, and I think I keep going back
• 51:20
Speaker 3: to leaving and I think that's my answer. I just
• 51:26
Speaker 3: I don't know, trying to make sure that's the right answer.
• 51:28
Speaker 3: And so I appreciate all of the advice, yeah, from everybody.
• 51:32
Speaker 2: Keep us posted when you do make a decision. I'd
• 51:34
Speaker 2: like to know what happens. And Eric wants a follow
• 51:36
Speaker 2: up too, he wants to know what happens to all
• 51:39
  Speaker 2: of our.
• 51:42
  Speaker 5: What happens.
• 51:43
Speaker 1: And I've already tried to have sex with him. It's
• 51:44
Speaker 1: not going to work. He's actually married happily.
• 51:46
Speaker 2: So listen, I think all of these conversations, like, I
• 51:50
Speaker 2: think a lot of women are going through this right now.
• 51:52
Speaker 1: You're not alone in right like, there's a lot of
• 51:54
Speaker 1: women of our age that are happening.
• 51:56
Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sure you're younger than me, but like
• 51:59
Speaker 2: in the world today realizing like maybe we don't need
• 52:01
Speaker 2: this partner. Maybe I certainly don't need a partner for
• 52:05
Speaker 2: what you know, you better bring a lot to the table,
• 52:08
Speaker 2: so like I can totally relate to why you be
• 52:10
Speaker 2: feeling this way, and that so many women are feeling
• 52:13
  Speaker 2: this way.
• 52:14
Speaker 5: Do you have children together?
• 52:16
  Speaker 7: No?
• 52:16
Speaker 6: Thank God, that's the one thing I don't have to
• 52:18
Speaker 6: worry about. I mean, we have a lot of animals,
• 52:20
  Speaker 6: but no children.
• 52:21
Speaker 5: So okay, Well, I.
• 52:21
Speaker 1: Would say that's your answer right there.
• 52:24
Speaker 2: Get I would say you can get out free without
• 52:27
Speaker 2: children and that then hell yeah, and then get out.
• 52:30
Speaker 1: I don't mean to be harsh about it, but that's
• 52:33
  Speaker 1: how I feel.
• 52:34
Speaker 3: No, but I appreciate the harshness because I'm kind of
• 52:36
Speaker 3: a harsh person too. So yeah, but with him, I've
• 52:39
Speaker 3: just been taking care of him for our whole entire lives. Yeah,
• 52:42
Speaker 3: and so I feel like he's the one person that
• 52:44
Speaker 3: I'm not harsh with. And maybe I need to start
• 52:47
Speaker 3: I need to do that.
• 52:48
  Speaker 6: I don't know.
• 52:49
Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, Kate, will you follow up with us?
• 52:51
Speaker 3: I will absolutely thank you, Thank you, good luck, k
• 52:56
Speaker 3: Thank you guys so much.
• 52:57
  Speaker 6: I appreciate it.
• 52:58
  Speaker 5: Chelsea.
• 52:59
Speaker 4: I think you bring up a really good point. And
• 53:00
Speaker 4: I mentioned this to her when we chatted in our
• 53:02
Speaker 4: pre interview. I feel like, for me right now, there's
• 53:04
Speaker 4: a lot of women around who are around me who
• 53:06
Speaker 4: are leaving a marriage, not because there was some big
• 53:09
Speaker 4: chaotic breakup or cheating or whatever. It's just because like
• 53:14
Speaker 4: I think there's something better, or this doesn't feel like
• 53:16
Speaker 4: the right fit, or we've grown apart, and.
• 53:18
Speaker 2: That's not a bad Like that's not the biggest failure
• 53:21
Speaker 2: in the world when something doesn't work out, Like I
• 53:23
Speaker 2: think that's what women are coming to grips with that
• 53:25
Speaker 2: it's not the end of your world if you break up,
• 53:28
Speaker 2: if your marriage breaks up, Like the dissolution of a
• 53:30
Speaker 2: marriage doesn't mean it's over, Like you can have a
• 53:33
Speaker 2: new beginning, like and you know, men it seem to
• 53:35
Speaker 2: have lat nine lives.
• 53:37
Speaker 1: Men get married three or four times and.
• 53:38
Speaker 2: You're like, oh, women just aren't as codependent, and women
• 53:42
Speaker 2: are like you know, they're going through something. I mean,
• 53:44
Speaker 2: I feel like, when you have to make a really
• 53:46
Speaker 2: hard decision, Eric, is there a decision you can think
• 53:48
Speaker 2: of that you really had to struggle with? Because I
• 53:50
Speaker 2: always just think, make a decision in either direction and
• 53:53
Speaker 2: then just go with that.
• 53:54
Speaker 5: I do sit on them for quite a long time,
• 53:56
Speaker 5: like indecisive. No, no, not even to saw us Eve.
• 54:00
Speaker 8: I don't like to feel pressured into making a quick decision,
• 54:03
Speaker 8: you know, So I'm comfortable sitting on it for quite
• 54:06
  Speaker 8: a while.
• 54:06
Speaker 5: But it's it's and it sounds like I could just
• 54:08
Speaker 5: hear it in a voice. There's she's lost some respect
• 54:11
  Speaker 5: for him.
• 54:12
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 54:12
Speaker 5: It's hard to move past that, isn't it.
• 54:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think once you get to that point, yeah,
• 54:17
Speaker 2: because it all sounds like a great idea when you're
• 54:19
Speaker 2: starting out, but you have to grow and evolve together
• 54:21
Speaker 2: and taking care of someone is not sexy.
• 54:24
Speaker 1: That's not hot. You know, no one gets turned on
• 54:26
Speaker 1: by that. Yeah they think they are they going to
• 54:29
  Speaker 1: like that.
• 54:29
Speaker 2: But there is some sort of like awakening or uprising
• 54:33
Speaker 2: happening with women right now.
• 54:34
Speaker 5: So you are helping forge that.
• 54:36
  Speaker 3: I am.
• 54:37
  Speaker 5: I've been helping.
• 54:38
Speaker 2: Forge it before I was even here. Well, thank you,
• 54:40
Speaker 2: I didn't it couldn't tell if you were serious.
• 54:43
  Speaker 5: I'm deadly serious.
• 54:43
  Speaker 1: I appreciate that.
• 54:44
Speaker 5: I'm deadly serious. Thank you.
• 54:46
Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean you've probably helped a lot of people
• 54:48
Speaker 8: really really move on and like empowered it.
• 54:50
Speaker 2: And I'm but I'm not like a proponent of like
• 54:52
Speaker 2: I don't want to be a relationship wrecker, like get
• 54:56
Speaker 2: away from him, Like I'm not anti man.
• 54:58
Speaker 1: I just think that I'm pro woman, you know what
• 54:59
  Speaker 1: I mean.
• 55:00
Speaker 8: I'm just saying it's not the end of the world, Like,
• 55:01
Speaker 8: don't look yourself as a failure if a relationship doesn't work,
• 55:04
Speaker 8: because I think I think a lot of people do
• 55:06
Speaker 8: have that baggage associated with like how how is this
• 55:10
  Speaker 8: going to?
• 55:10
Speaker 5: Am I a failure? With these files? Like how does
• 55:13
Speaker 5: this reflect on me as a person?
• 55:14
  Speaker 6: Right?
• 55:15
Speaker 5: Right? Something of the world?
• 55:16
Speaker 2: No, and you survive everything even if someone like the
• 55:20
Speaker 2: worst things that could happen in your life.
• 55:21
  Speaker 1: You are survivable.
• 55:22
Speaker 2: So once you have a enough life experience, you realize, oh,
• 55:25
Speaker 2: I'm not going to be broken.
• 55:27
Speaker 6: You know what I mean.
• 55:27
Speaker 2: Somebody doesn't have another person doesn't necessarily have the power
• 55:30
  Speaker 2: to break you.
• 55:31
Speaker 1: That's kind of on you.
• 55:32
Speaker 5: Yeah. Cool, it's a cool message.
• 55:34
Speaker 1: Okay, we're gonna wrap up. We'll be right back. I'm
• 55:37
Speaker 1: going to give Eric a quick bath and then we're
• 55:38
Speaker 1: going to be right back to wrap up this podcast,
• 55:45
Speaker 1: and we're back with Eric Bannett.
• 55:47
Speaker 5: I'm so much cleaner now.
• 55:48
Speaker 2: Eric Bannett one of my favorite people. Love him so much,
• 55:51
Speaker 2: Love you so much. And the new show is called Untamed.
• 55:53
Speaker 2: It's now streaming on Netflix. So if you want to
• 55:56
Speaker 2: watch some Eric Banner porn, that's where you should watch it.
• 56:02
Speaker 5: Six whole hours of it, six hours of Aaron Bana.
• 56:06
  Speaker 8: You do.
• 56:06
Speaker 1: You know, you don't come at us all the time,
• 56:08
Speaker 1: So when we get you, we have to we have
• 56:10
  Speaker 1: to watch it.
• 56:11
  Speaker 5: Limited supply.
• 56:12
Speaker 2: You're not oversaturating yourself. So no, it's a limited supply and.
• 56:15
Speaker 1: We're lucky to have it.
• 56:17
Speaker 8: Get it before the WiFi drops that I'll say, you know,
• 56:20
Speaker 8: that's right limited supply.
• 56:22
Speaker 2: I also want to say one thing about Australians before
• 56:24
Speaker 2: you go. I have a lot of Australians in my
• 56:26
Speaker 2: life and they have to rob it and I thought, well,
• 56:30
Speaker 2: most of them are Sydney, but they always think they're
• 56:33
  Speaker 2: right about everything.
• 56:35
Speaker 5: Really, yes, that's a Sydney thing, is it?
• 56:38
  Speaker 3: Is it?
• 56:38
Speaker 1: Because that's what my next question was, A bit.
• 56:41
Speaker 5: More people from mel bit more bit more?
• 56:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, explaining to me that, like, I was listening to
• 56:45
Speaker 2: a podcast with my friend if she is, she's Australian,
• 56:48
Speaker 2: and while we were listening to the podcast, she was
• 56:49
Speaker 2: explaining the podcast to me, I'm like, I can't hear anything.
• 56:53
  Speaker 5: How is it?
• 56:54
Speaker 8: It's just because you always hang out and suit? How
• 56:56
Speaker 8: is it you don't you don't have many Melbourne friends?
• 56:57
Speaker 2: You have more, you know, because I think Melbourne people
• 57:00
Speaker 2: stay in Australia and Sydney people move to the States.
• 57:04
Speaker 2: But yeah, Sydney is my city there. I would love
• 57:07
Speaker 2: to live in Australia one day. I mean that's really
• 57:09
Speaker 2: just like kind of a very idyllic lifestyle.
• 57:13
Speaker 8: It's a great place to leave. But you got you got,
• 57:15
Speaker 8: you got a pretty good he got your little place
• 57:17
Speaker 8: up in whistle there. You just just get up there
• 57:19
  Speaker 8: with your.
• 57:19
Speaker 2: Dogs and my bear, my bear that I'm going to
• 57:22
Speaker 2: find another steak out on your front porch.
• 57:25
  Speaker 5: I don't think so. I'm not that stupid. I'm hearing
• 57:28
Speaker 5: three properties, none of them in Australia. That's what I'm hearing.
• 57:30
Speaker 5: That's what you are here.
• 57:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's what you're hearing. No miracle ear for you.
• 57:35
Speaker 1: You've got this. Okay, Eric, thank you so much.
• 57:38
Speaker 5: So awesome to see you.
• 57:39
Speaker 1: Thanks for having always loved it.
• 57:42
  Speaker 5: Oh god.
• 57:44
  Speaker 6: Okay.
