- 0:00Trending. Now here's what you need to know. Well, if forgetting to
- 0:05make over and hosting a grand reopening at the end of twenty twenty two,
- 0:08yesterday Chuck e Cheese in Fargo, they suddenly closed their doors. A note
- 0:12on the door said, sorry, we're closed, thank you for the fun
- 0:15and memories. I it't they go like revamped in everything. Yeah, it's
- 0:20been a while since I've been in there, but that's a staple in town.
- 0:23I was had an appointment over there about two weeks ago. I'm like,
- 0:25oh my gosh, I forget about Chuck E Cheese. Totally all in
- 0:29the Chuckster. I know all our lives totally, I will say. And
- 0:33it's sad that a business closed. It's sad that the people are out of
- 0:35jobs, obviously immediately. But growing up, there's nobody I hated more than
- 0:39that that rat. Isn't it funny how it's either like a love hate relationship
- 0:43when it comes to that. I was always the odd duck who truly loved
- 0:47their pizza, like your cheese pizza. I don't know what it was,
- 0:50but pizza is it? There's something about it? Yeah, I say the
- 0:53pizza was good. The games were great, but man, when that rat
- 0:56came out from that back door, I ran. I would cry every time,
- 1:00but my parents continued to bring me. Would you run into the ballpit?
- 1:04Just anywhere? And here we go. NDYSU women's basketball got their first
- 1:11round by for the the w n i T which is gonna be fantastic.
- 1:15So they will play this Saturday versus the winner of either Boise State and Montana.
- 1:19We don't know yet what time the game is gonna be, if it's
- 1:23gonna be home or not. But man, if that's a home game,
- 1:26it's exciting for him. Have you filled out your bracket for the Women's n
- 1:29i T Tournament. Oh? I haven't filled out a bracket at all.
- 1:32I just enjoy watching basketball, you know. Yeah, we when we were
- 1:37on vacation, we watched every Iowa State game they won the championship. It
- 1:41was it was nice. How exciting. Yeah, that's a that's a new
- 1:44development for you. I feel like it is definitely remember being a big oopster,
- 1:49huge oopster growing up. Yeah, my husband really sucks me. That's
- 1:56nice that you support him in his interests. All right, today is the
- 2:00first day of spring. Even though it is not gonna feel like it gonna
- 2:01be sunny, windy Hia thirty four. I stumbled on this pike. Do
- 2:06you ever celebrate the first day of spring? No? Me either. Oh
- 2:09but there is a person who said, you know how to do it.
- 2:13Buy yourself some flowers today, Get a nice fresh haircut. Reconnect with friends
- 2:17maybe that you've been pushing off through the winter. Reconnect with them first spring,
- 2:22clean your home. This is what you should avoid. Resist the urge
- 2:25to rot in bed. Okay, I did that already, did you.
- 2:29It was a strong urge. I'll tell you that. But here we are.
- 2:32Yeah, but I do. I agree though, Like fresh flowers.
- 2:35Have you ever done that? You should bring home some fresh flowers today?
- 2:38It just it's the weirdest you put them in your house, and it's like,
- 2:40oh my gosh. It just adds a little like sunflowers especially definitely.
- 2:45But you know, I got my wife's birthday Thursday. Oh so I'm like
- 2:49all in on that. You know, if I'm going to do flowers,
- 2:51it's got to be that day. Or do birthday week that would be really
- 2:53sort. We're doing birthday week. Last name. We kicked it off with
- 2:57a good head, scratch back, scratch foot rub I mean the Washpike.
- 3:01What a man, What a man? And it was all because of birthday
- 3:05week. What a mighty good man. You all right? Well again,
- 3:07it's gonna be gross today kind of I mean sunny, windy, higher thirty
- 3:10four. Looking ahead of your forecast, we could actually see a little bit
- 3:13of snow. It looks like Tuesday, or excuse me, Thursday, and
- 3:15then this weekend. They're still kind of keeping an eye on what kind of
- 3:19precipitation we're going to get. Okay, well, good to have you back,
- 3:22Amanda. Yeah, good to be bad man is in the house.
- 3:25I walked in and Pike was like raising the roof. Who she's bad?
- 3:30Body? Time? Pike? It a manday in the morning, big naty
- 3:34eight point seven. Time to enter the judgment zone where we get a little
- 3:38judgy, and today I feel like you're gonna want to be very judgy.
- 3:44Yeah, she's on the phone now. She wants to remain nameless, but
- 3:46let's find out what's going on. Good morning, How are you? I
- 3:49am good? Thanks for having me. Yeah, absolutely welcome anytime. Well,
- 3:53hopefully this will be enough for you. Tell us what you got going
- 3:55on that you want some advice on okay. So on Saturday, I was
- 4:00a baby sitting for a family and the mom and dad they had gone to
- 4:04a wedding, so they said, you know, no later than midnight,
- 4:06nobie deal. So I got a text around ten thirty and they said they
- 4:12were on their way home and the wedding wasn't very far so around eleven eleven
- 4:16and five, I've been a text asking if they were okay, and they
- 4:21didn't answer me. So it kind of started as nervous. I think anybody
- 4:26would write, right, so I called them. I didn't text. I
- 4:30called them around eleven thirty and the husband told me that they ended up at
- 4:35a bar and that they were going to be a little later. I said,
- 4:40okay, you know, don't you have any idea at time? And
- 4:44he said, oh, probably around twelve thirty and then he hung up.
- 4:46My god, this is weird. Okay, yeah, so it was late.
- 4:50So I ended up falling asleep on the couch and you're not going to
- 4:55leave this. But I woke up at like two thirty and they still were
- 4:59not home. Got mom and dad rageous, so of course like a panic,
- 5:03and I tried to call them and checked them again, and they didn't
- 5:09respond and they didn't show up until four in the morning, as I want
- 5:14to go after two thirty, I was just await sitting there. Oh yeah,
- 5:17I was so upset. Your mind have been going wild, like I
- 5:21would be panic thinking that they I mean, first thought they're in jail,
- 5:26or like something serious happened, right well, yeah, nothing could happens at
- 5:29four am. Well, and no communication, texting you, letting you know
- 5:31anything. That's first of all, just super disrespectful. But anyway, they
- 5:35roll in at four am like a bunch of college kids. What did they
- 5:39say, I mean, were they like drinking at somebody's garage or right,
- 5:42well, I wouldn't have cared if they had just communicated or responded to any
- 5:46of my text their messages. So when I got home, they did not
- 5:51apologize. They didn't even acknowledge that they had been out, you know,
- 5:58five more hours than they originally said they were going to be. They didn't
- 6:00apologize, and it only paved me one hundred dollars So the time that I
- 6:04was there, well, wait, one hundred bucks. So that in addition
- 6:08to what you were already getting paid or that was like the agreement from the
- 6:12beginning. That was the agreement because they weren't going to be gone very low.
- 6:15Oh my god. Okay, so they didn't give you any extra money
- 6:17and what did you say? Did you say, like do the old like
- 6:20rub your fingers together, wait for a tip? I did. I sent
- 6:24them a demo for another hundred dollars because that's a good hour. Oh yeah,
- 6:29yeah, the hours would have equaled out to So I did that and
- 6:33they haven't addressed it at all yet. So you know, what what should
- 6:38I do? What do you do? Seven one two eight one ninety eight
- 6:42seven? I don't know. Maybe she should actually like try to communicate with
- 6:45them instead of just assuming they saw to them. All what if they never
- 6:47saw them, because like, what if they're not textavvy and they just like
- 6:51they never even went on the abb and never saw it. If she hasn't
- 6:55said a word to them, how are they going to know? Like,
- 6:57if she wants to be treated like an adult, she should probably like,
- 7:00WHOA interesting? Thanks for calling man? Yeah, noble, that does make
- 7:05sense to his point. Yeah, how many times do you have to like
- 7:08people? I know very well. I got to send them a reminder because
- 7:11they didn't see the VENMO request, you know, not everybody gets those notifications.
- 7:15Yeah, either way, I guess for me. Again, the parent
- 7:17perspective here is totally disrespectful and you should be paying up. I don't care
- 7:23if your babysitious sleeping. They're still there watching over your kids. A lot
- 7:26of people chiming in on Facebook, a lot of people reminiscing on getting paid
- 7:30two fifty an hour plus. They'd have to clean the house, wash the
- 7:32dishes. Did you ever do that? Did you ever watch kids growing up?
- 7:35No? I'm imagining that person also had to walk uphill to school both
- 7:40directions. These girls are my age where it's like, I remember your first
- 7:43babysitting job and you were younger. You're twelve, eleven, twelve, you
- 7:46know this girl sounded a lot older. Yeah, but yeah, you didn't
- 7:48get paid that much. But prices are up. That's just the way it
- 7:51is anymore, unfortunately. Yeah, that's the price of doom business. You
- 7:57on stay out a night partying. And that's the other thing too. It's
- 8:00like, come on, you got kids at home four am? How is
- 8:03kidding? How is nobody brought up with a fact like, hey, if
- 8:05you're gonna keep her there for four am, you might as well hire till
- 8:09noon the next day and give her a three hundred bucks because who's watching your
- 8:13kids in the morning? No, exactly, So what do you think seven
- 8:15on one, two eight one ninety eight seven. If I was left on
- 8:18red at midnight, I would be nervous about what happened to the parent.
- 8:22Yeah, he didn't call the cops, wondering where they were at. You
- 8:26know, that's a good point. I probably would have too, especially at
- 8:28that two thirty point where I didn't have any communication between what midnight and two
- 8:33thirty, and then they're not responding till for I'm with you. I would
- 8:37have done the same. But now you're talking like kids are getting woken up,
- 8:39police are at the house. I mean, that's that's quite the escalation.
- 8:43If they're not answering for four hours and you're in charge of their kids,
- 8:46like I would immediately go with something's wrong. Yeah, we need to
- 8:50figure out where they're at. If that's the case, time is at the
- 8:54essence, you only have forty eight hours, I'm told, so you gotta
- 8:56get to it. Thanks for the call. I appreciate you. What do
- 9:01we think she should probably reach back out? And I wouldn't say demand,
- 9:05but it's like, hey, here's the deal, pay me extra money this
- 9:07much, or we're not doing this again. There's so many things here my
- 9:11suspicion and I don't know for sure, but I just have I have larger
- 9:15concerns about the parents' capabilities in general. You know, I think you got
- 9:20reached back out. You got to demand some money otherwise this is over cut
- 9:22them off. And either way, don't you kind of feel like this relationship
- 9:26is already over. I can't imagine going back and watching these kids. No,
- 9:28they're probably embarrassing. Maybe eventually they'll reach back out because you know what
- 9:31it is, dude, remember having a favorite babysitter? Oh? Yeah,
- 9:35like what if this was her? Oh I had a favorite? Oh okay,
- 9:39okay, would you like to rule on this judgment or are you just
- 9:43gonna be a big old creeper? Now it's okay, I was a child.
- 9:46It's okay, final judgment. Be better takee Amanda in the morning.
- 9:52Dude, seven, you want your kids to grow up to be smart,
- 9:56you know, intelligent people. Of course that's your goal, right, Well,
- 10:01here's a sign apparently that they're going to be smart people if they're doing
- 10:05this as a child, according to recent research published by the Journal of Experimental
- 10:11Child Psychology, one of my favorite magazine, That's Intense. All right.
- 10:15They said that it turns out if your child is prone to lying at a
- 10:20young age, that may indicate that they're going to have better cognitive abilities than
- 10:24other kids lying. We have raised our kids to not lie. In fact,
- 10:28we get pretty upset when they do lie. To us. That sounds
- 10:31like you're restricting their intelligence. Sydney gonna be five next week already, My
- 10:37goodness, where did this time go? But she likes to tell little lies.
- 10:41Every once in a while, I will tell her something. She's like,
- 10:43got jokester. She'll go, just joking, your mom, just joking?
- 10:48Yeah, yeah, you know in a way, that's good lying.
- 10:50Instead of lying, you just pretend you're kidding. Correct. It's a classic.
- 10:52It works every time I'm joking. I'm just sorry, mom, All
- 10:58good here? But yeah, because I remember even my mom like you just
- 11:01a look at me. You've known me for what fifteen years? Almost?
- 11:05Yeah, you're bad. You started talking too much. It's not even that
- 11:07I can just look at you and I either start laughing. I'm just not
- 11:11a liar. Yeah, you know, as a kid, Do you remember
- 11:13lying about, like, let's say, whether you were sick or not.
- 11:16Oh, I remember trying to get out of school just saying, oh,
- 11:18my tummy hurts, and that's the best way to lie, because you know
- 11:20they can't really prove it. Yeah. So I went through a stage where
- 11:24there was this mean girl situation and I was getting picked on by all the
- 11:31girls. And so I remember going to the nurse's office calling out sick because
- 11:35we were supposed to go on this huge trip to the cities to go see
- 11:37the state capitol and I did not want to go on the bus ride,
- 11:41so had my grandma come pick me up. And I don't know what was
- 11:46worse being picked on or the fact that my grandma knew when I wasn't sick
- 11:50and every single time you'd think price is right, young and the restless days
- 11:56of our lives got to watch all that little saved by the Bell. She
- 11:58knew I was into it, she knew I enjoyed it, So she made
- 12:01me eat milk toast. Oh, Grandma, I know, and you'd have
- 12:05to like choke it down, and it just was it worth it? So
- 12:09that was her punishment or was that supposed to help you feel because I had
- 12:13a tummy ache, and so her thing was, you gotta have milk toast.
- 12:16Then Grandma, I know, I know. Wait so she picked up
- 12:18from the cities. No, no, no, no, no, that's
- 12:20the trip I got out of. So I didn't have to go to the
- 12:22cities because I was you. I know, I didn't miss it. Was
- 12:26a great time, wasn't it. Nobody liked you on the bus Jesus,
- 12:31you know you think about that. That's usually a lot of times when you
- 12:35you lied about it. Yeah, how about you? Oh big big liars
- 12:39a child? Really, that's why I'm so intelligent. What was the biggest
- 12:43lie? Or can you even admit? Tell you what I lied about?
- 12:46Was when they would do you know, they'd come into your school and they
- 12:50would do like hearing envision tests, right, you did it every six months
- 12:52or something, and so you did not. In fourth grade, kids were
- 12:56starting to get glasses and for some reason, I don't know, I just
- 13:00I just felt like I needed a change. Why Why was that? It
- 13:03was a thing like, oh, I want to have glasses. Yeah,
- 13:05so I lied on the test. Again, they can't really prove what you
- 13:09can and can't see, so they were doing the you know, read the
- 13:13top line, and I just bombed it. I mean I probably could have
- 13:16like pretended I could see some of it, but man, it was like
- 13:18they must have thought I was legally blind. So they bring me in My
- 13:22dad had to bring me into the actual eye doctor. Oh what a pain.
- 13:26And here's where I wasn't the best liar, because when they were fitting
- 13:30me for frames, you know, the frames that are hanging on the wall,
- 13:31they don't have your prescription lens in them yet, they're just fakes.
- 13:37And so they put this frame on me and I look into me. I
- 13:39go, oh, yeah, I can see better already. Yeah, And
- 13:43the doctor goes, well, they don't have the lenses in them, and
- 13:46so I think I wasted why it had already gone so far, They just
- 13:50gave them to me anyway. And then I love that you sit here and
- 13:54say they just gave them to you anyway. When your parents had to pay
- 13:56for whatever trifocals that you ended up had to pretend to get at, you
- 14:01know, five hundred dollars a pop just so you could, did you ever
- 14:05even wear them? Let's see, that's the thing. You know, you
- 14:07lie about him taking to look cool, but then because I was, according
- 14:11to them, legally blind, I think I started getting headaches and realizing,
- 14:13of course, I don't think I need these at all. Did you pop
- 14:16the lenses out at least and wear them at all? Okay, I wasn't
- 14:20an idiot, And now here I am, one hundred years later, still
- 14:24glasses free, and now it's one of my greatest points of pride. Is
- 14:28it my twenty vision? Yeah? Oh man? Anyway, I feel bad
- 14:31for your parents, But boy did I look cool and smart a few days
- 14:35there, Amanda in the morning, I now Amanda stills. Let's see.
- 14:39Let's see Ronzi by JDP Electric. So I don't know how much you've been
- 14:45following along with this. The royal family just in shambles. Of course,
- 14:48you all remember Prince Harry Megan Markle like when they left the Royals, that
- 14:52was all this controversy, and I feel like they've been laying low. It's
- 14:56kind of like, oh yeah, out of there, we are finding out.
- 14:58I guess Prince Harry and Prince William were at this same event a couple
- 15:01of weeks ago for Princess Diana, not even really spotted together. So they
- 15:05still have a very tumultuous relationship. So there's a word that relationship situation going
- 15:11on. Then there was the diagnosis from the king he has some form of
- 15:18cancer, and over the week and we found out he died. Did you
- 15:20see this? The Russian media sent out this whole announcement that the king is
- 15:26set or they're counting in palace is announcing that the king is dead. Well,
- 15:30it sounds like the reports of the King's death have been greatly exaggerated.
- 15:33Yeah, so he's not dead. I guess we think that's the case,
- 15:37but they're being very weird about it. It took him like two days to
- 15:41release a statement saying that he was in fact alive. You know what I
- 15:45mean, Like the delay in it is crazy. So there's also this huge
- 15:48rumor about Kate Middleton. So she had an abdominal surgery surgery back in December,
- 15:52so she was out of the spotlight for a little bit. Well there's
- 15:56this girl. Did you hear about Rose Hanbury. She's been hanging with Prince
- 16:00William for a while and she just released the statement yesterday saying no, I
- 16:07am not having an affair with this guy. Because they were thinking that Kate
- 16:11and Prince William were on the outs and that's why she hasn't been making public
- 16:15appearances. So they were spotted together over the weekend going into some farm shop
- 16:18and it's a blurry photo. Was a video. It looks like her though
- 16:22screenshot I saw of it, and he looks skinny er, I guess we're
- 16:26skinnier. But people on the internet anyway, they're so like they desperately wanted
- 16:32to be an imposter, like they Yeah, they're trying to fool us with
- 16:34a look alike, very much like the Britney Spears saga. Then it happened
- 16:38when everybody was trying to figure out what was going on with her. I
- 16:41hope everything is okay here, but this is kind of crazy for them not
- 16:45to just and I guess I don't know how the royals work, but can
- 16:48you get the little dud true and then like have them come out onto the
- 16:52balcony all of the family and say, we're alive, We're okay. Can
- 16:56we all move on? Yeah? Exactly. Otherwise, as far as I
- 16:59could tell, they're all dead. And I was just telling you about my
- 17:03casino stint when I was snowed in in Blackhawk, Colorado. But sounds like
- 17:08Bruno Mars has had quite the situation. Well or has he Well, there
- 17:12was a rumor yesterday that he owed fifty million dollars to MGM for gambling.
- 17:18He's been there for his residency since twenty sixteen, and does he have a
- 17:22gambling problem? According to THEMGM rep yesterday they said no, any speculation is
- 17:26completely false. What a crazy report that everybody ran with because two days ago
- 17:30I didn't even know he enjoyed gambling, you know, and then suddenly for
- 17:33one day I thought, oh my god, he's got a real issue,
- 17:37and then now we're back to, oh, he's okay, he's fine.
- 17:38And do we really know now how much debt did you rack up at the
- 17:42Blackhawk Casino? I mean, technically no debt, A little bit out of
- 17:45my budget, yes, yeah it was. It was four hundred dollars on
- 17:49the penny slots. Just I had the money. It's not like they gave
- 17:52you a line of credit, which is crazy that you can somehow get fifty
- 17:55million dollars. He was just so angry at myself, like at the end
- 17:59of it, because you just kept thinking like, I'm gonna get it,
- 18:02I'm gonna get it. Oh, I forgot to tell you the part where
- 18:03I sat down with twenty dollars right when we got there in one two hundred
- 18:07and sixty seven dollars. So then I thought, that's how it went.
- 18:11That is how that is. That is till it doesn't. The case is
- 18:15that where they get you? Is that where they get you hooked? My
- 18:19eighteenth birthday, I won one time and then lost it all and then that
- 18:23was it. It was devastating. There's a popular YouTuber called mister Beast and
- 18:27he has just signed a deal with Prime Video for a new reality show competition.
- 18:32It's called Beast Games. We don't know much about it other than it's
- 18:34going to feature about a thousand contestants battling it out for the largest cash prize
- 18:38in TV history, which will be five million dollars. Yeah, you know
- 18:41what they should do. They should just do a remake of that. What
- 18:45was that show, Legends of the Hitt Temple? Yeah, why don't we
- 18:48just do that again? Because that was the perfect right game show on Nickelodeon.
- 18:52It was Yeah, it was on right after Gut? Was it Guts?
- 18:56Probably right through the obstacle? Course. I love those show. The
- 19:00last real reality show that I got into was who wants to be a million?
- 19:03Game show? Or game show? Yeah, exactly, Well, Deal
- 19:06or No Deal had a pretty good run. I did like that. We'll
- 19:08pop on every once in a while and watch Family Feud. That's always kind
- 19:12of interesting to watch with Steve Harvey. Yeah, but I can't stand but
- 19:17not every day watching it. You know, I'm a big wheel watcher.
- 19:21But as far as I feel like there's just now it's just oversaturated. There's
- 19:23too many options. It wasn't like back in the day when we were all
- 19:26too tuning in to Regis. Who wants to be a Meal Millionaire? That
- 19:30was my favorite? Remember the first guy I'd ever get a million? That
- 19:34was his name, John Carpenter. The clip is viral sense of course,
- 19:37because you know he got to the million dollar question and he still had his
- 19:41phone a friend Lifeline, that's right, So he phoned his dad thinking that
- 19:45he had to ask him for help, but he knew the answer, so
- 19:48he just wanted to tell his dad that he was about to win a million
- 19:49dollars. I didnt goosebum thinking about it. Do you think the Beast Games
- 19:55is gonna do that for us? I don't think if he can recreate a
- 19:57feeling like that two like get a Medda in the morning on Big ninety eight
- 20:03point seven. Welcome back from your big trip to Denver, Colorado. Beautiful
- 20:07this time here. Yeah, we flew out last Tuesday for a little spring
- 20:11break vacation. As you guys probably know by now, my dad and my
- 20:14dad's side of the family all lives out there. So we flew it Tuesday,
- 20:18yep, Papo and Gigi, and we ended up getting there before the
- 20:22big storm. And you know, it's just like everything and even my Daddy's
- 20:26like, they're saying, we're gonna get dumped on, but you just never
- 20:27know, especially because they're in Golden which is up by like the mountains kind
- 20:32of, and sometimes it stays in the mountains, sometimes it doesn't. This
- 20:36time, it decided that it was just going to have the biggest snowstorm they've
- 20:40had in twelve years. You know what's funny about weather, It's no matter
- 20:42what we like to say it here, how unpredictable the weather is. It's
- 20:45everywhere everywhere. Literally everybody thinks their weather is the most unpredictable totally. So
- 20:51any who, we get there and we decide we're gonna do a little night
- 20:53away away from the kids. So we ended up getting a hotel in black
- 20:57Hawk, which is like a mini Vegas. Really, did you have a
- 21:00heart shaped hot tub in the room. We did not, But what we
- 21:03ended up doing is driving up there. So it's a little casino town and
- 21:08we checked in on Wednesday morning and we just hung out. It was just
- 21:14it was a great day. We were able to go up. They had
- 21:17a really cool like infinity pool that was looking over where it was snowing,
- 21:19and we're like, this is fantastic. We ended up booking like a day
- 21:23spa passed for the next day, and then we were supposed to head back
- 21:26down the mountain and we're like, okay, this is gonna be awesome.
- 21:29Sounds like a night of kissing, holding the hands. So we ended up
- 21:33going down for dinner. This is Wednesday, and the lady's like, did
- 21:38you guys get another room for tomorrow night? And we're like no, we're
- 21:41good. And of course you know my husband, he's he loves it when
- 21:45it snows, we'll be able to get back down. He loved he loves
- 21:51like the snow, he loves bad weather. He's like, ah, no
- 21:52problem, We're from Fargo. Of course we can drive in the snow and
- 21:56get back home to the kid. I don't, Oh, not a lot
- 21:59of mountains this down. And then the the guy that was sitting at the
- 22:03bar next to us goes, do you guys have chains in my assband?
- 22:07My husband looked at him like chains, Like why would we need chains?
- 22:12Like this is I don't know what he was thinking. This guy was referring
- 22:15to, but you have to put chains on your truck tires because they get
- 22:18so much snow because you're going downhill. Anyway, long story short, we
- 22:23go to bed early on Wednesday. I wake up at three thirty in the
- 22:26morning and I look outside and there is so much snow. They dropped like
- 22:32thirty six inches of snow. Oh my god, you guys got dumped on.
- 22:34It was crazy. So we walked downstairs and uh, I'm getting ready
- 22:38to go into the workout room and this girl looks at me and she's like,
- 22:41oh, how was your guys this night? We're like fine, I
- 22:45guess the power went out overnight in this hotel, so we weren't able to
- 22:49eat until like noon that day. Like they had to have somebody come in
- 22:53with the pilot light. Everybody had left. When we went downstairs, there
- 22:57was like nobody in sight. They had one bartender for the entire area and
- 23:03that was it. And the bartender could only serve like one drink per person
- 23:06every thirty minutes if that. But there was enough people where it was impossible,
- 23:11no idea. There was only one little restaurant open that had one server
- 23:15who was working for forty eight hours. The power had gone out, so
- 23:18people weren't able to even get into their room, so there was a line
- 23:21of like one hundred people. They had to escort them up to their room
- 23:23every single time to put their car key or their key card and redo it.
- 23:27It was insane, just insane. So you had the option to come
- 23:30home, and you decide to stay another night in the bad weather. Huh,
- 23:34well, it was just we couldn't come down after that. It sounds
- 23:37like you guys intentionally got stuck in the mountains, you know. That's what
- 23:41my dad said as well. He was like, oh, you guys should
- 23:42stay another night. I'm like, well, we have to, jeez,
- 23:47but it's not what you would think because you're stuck in a casino and I'm
- 23:49not a gambler, and I decided I wanted to play the penny slots.
- 23:52There was this wild Goose game that was just it was speaking, yea,
- 23:56it was speaking. It was squawking, it really was. It was quackond.
- 24:00It was one of those games that I just kept getting into. Four
- 24:04hundred dollars later, that goose got me. You got your goose. It
- 24:07sounds like, I know, you lost four hundred dollars on a penny slot
- 24:11machine, and my husband, you would have thought we lost a billion dollars.
- 24:15He was so mad, mad at me. He's like, you know
- 24:18what we could have done with four hundred dollars. I mean, yeah,
- 24:21think about it. So the rest of the trip, we finally get back
- 24:23down to the mountain and we take the kids to the aquarium, take them
- 24:26bowling, doing all this stuff, And every single time he'd look at the
- 24:30kids and be like, well, I could have done this, but Mom
- 24:33had to go to the Wild Goose. So he got me. I'm glad.
- 24:37I'm not a big gambler, but it's probably what had way more fun
- 24:41had mom not spent the entire spring break. You know, but J where
- 24:45you went wrong, and this coming from a gambler, is you stopped at
- 24:48four hundred when you should have just dug a little deeper. Got it back.
- 24:52And so that morning I told Nick, I go one hundred more dollars.
- 24:57I think I got this. I'm like, if I just do this
- 25:00and I put the twenty five lines with the five, if I hit that
- 25:03nip, that would double up super quick. And he just looked at me.
- 25:07He's like, you're insane. Like now it goes yeah, and now
- 25:11you got the bug. Now you're hooked. So we meet on Wednesdays in
- 25:15the church basement here in town. I'll see you then, like, get
- 25:17Amanda in the morning, come on, get up on Big seven. Well,
- 25:22you know that workplace you're probably headed to right now or you're sitting at.
- 25:26Turns out it might be a little outdated. According to a new survey,
- 25:30two thousand employed Americans were asked about the modern workplace. And I guess
- 25:36there are certain aspects of it that people feel like it's time to move on
- 25:38from. Amanda, for example, I know doesn't apply to us. But
- 25:41that nine to five schedule, of course, which you know because Dolly Pardon
- 25:45sang about it in a song, that's just what it has to be.
- 25:48What it is. You can't change it. She's not singing seven to three.
- 25:52Darn it. You know, it doesn't roll off the tongue, Sure
- 25:53doesn't. I can see that though. I think, you know, as
- 25:56much as people want to be like, oh, COVID's over, it never
- 25:59really happened. And a lot of the things that happened during that time has
- 26:03made the workforce just really flexible. A lot of people learn that they could
- 26:06work from home. I think there's a lot of businesses that are going,
- 26:08hey, overhead wise, I can shut it down and people can work from
- 26:11home, and they're going to be just as productive, if not more.
- 26:14Yeah, I mean not to mention it opens up to a much larger pool
- 26:17of applicants, you know, if anybody in the world can work the job.
- 26:21But then of course for the person the employee, makes it a lot
- 26:23harder to get the job because you're dealing with not just everybody in Bargo,
- 26:26you're dealing with everybody in the world, mister worldwide. I don't think Pitbull
- 26:32will be applying for any of those entry. Also, they stayed the whole
- 26:37getting paid every two weeks or for us twice a month, the same basically
- 26:41basically, but not like my wife's on the every other Friday. I'm on
- 26:45the twice a month, So no, we don't get paid on the same
- 26:47day, gotcha, But sometimes you do sometimes you don't, you know.
- 26:49Yeah, they say that's outdated, that people want to get paid once a
- 26:53week, which I've known people to do that too. I get what would
- 26:56be I don't know what's well the reason they say the option runs out of
- 27:00money approximately twelve days after receiving their paycheck, so they're not budgeting for the
- 27:06fifteen day window. I mean, come on, that's on you. I
- 27:08used to often find myself in this situation, and a wise man once said,
- 27:14ah, you got a little too much month left at the end of
- 27:15the paycheck. Huh Oh, that doesn't bother me. I don't think that
- 27:19that's outdated at all, because, yeah, it's not going to mean you
- 27:22have more money, it's meaning correct. Yeah, if that was the case,
- 27:25then I'd be rooting for it. I mean, you got more more
- 27:27time. If you do get crazy, then you get to reload sooner.
- 27:32I mean, I'm always one who's like, just because we've always done it
- 27:34this way, and reminder, when we say we've always done it this way,
- 27:37we're talking about what the last hundred years when the earth is a gazillion
- 27:41years old, So really it's not the case. You know, things are
- 27:45changing, Get on board or be left behind. Yeah, I would be
- 27:48all for because we do it here. And there's a lot of different places
- 27:52that have Fridays from May until what is it like September at least August.
- 27:59It's a half a day on Fridays, but you work longer days. Blows
- 28:03down at noon, baby, because it is a lake season. So it's
- 28:06funny, how you know, some people in other parts are like, Okay,
- 28:08that's really weird. Well it's not because we are used to that,
- 28:11but a four day work week just in general. I was reading an article
- 28:15a couple of weeks ago how a lot of people say people are more productive.
- 28:18There was a lot of people who started doing that during COVID and it
- 28:22hasn't changed anything. It just depends on what you do. If you're working
- 28:25at a business that needs to be open Monday through Friday, then of course
- 28:29you can't do that. Or if you're obviously an emergency worker. My dad
- 28:32was a firefighter, you know, and that schedule was like, while risking
- 28:36your life, the schedule is pretty good. You know, you're working twenty
- 28:37four hour shifts every other day for three days and then you get four days
- 28:42off. I mean, it was crazy, oh interesting, and so you
- 28:45take one day off, use a day of vacation. Suddenly you've got six
- 28:48days off in that. Not to mention nurses again, doing the Lord's work
- 28:52totally we need you couldn't do it. And I know, a twelve hour
- 28:56shift doing what we do like no problem because I'm just sitting here on my
- 28:59rear end. If you're up in walking around constantly, you know, helping
- 29:03patients who are sick and dying probably be a little different experience. That said,
- 29:07doing three twelve hour ships a week, I think I could get down.
- 29:10If that's urns that. What would you ideally? If we had an
- 29:14opportunity to change it, what would be your ideal? I honestly, I've
- 29:17always said this, I would do two twenties twenty. That's I would work
- 29:22two twenty hour days and that would be so I meant as far as like
- 29:26time frame, like we wake up, our alarm goes off at three thirty,
- 29:30we're on air from five thirty six to ten. It would be seven
- 29:33am Monday until which is two am the next day. Do you think we
- 29:38should call our boss and see if we could do that. I would do
- 29:41this show seven to seven to two every day. I don't know if that's
- 29:44a lot of us, but that'd be perfect. There's a lot of us
- 29:48seven to noon. If I'm a little bit, it's already enough of us.
- 29:52You know, you think people are already like she's back from vacation.
- 29:56Turn I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Yeah, they're thinking, well, how
- 29:59about you guys do the show from midnight to one? Aham, I'm good
- 30:03like in the morning, big naty eight points seven. So the last conversation
- 30:07we had just moments ago, Amanda left off by saying that you now wear
- 30:10pajamas to bed because your kids get in your bed. You don't want to
- 30:12be naked. Correct, So yes, So that indicates to me how you
- 30:15might feel about this story. But I don't know if you saw the meteorologist
- 30:19on the Today Show, not that one, not the rocker, Dylan Dryer,
- 30:25who's a lady named Dylan. Okay's familiar. She's forty two, and
- 30:29she revealed that she showers with her three children, all boys aging from seven
- 30:37to two years old. She's got seven year old Calvin, four year old
- 30:41Oliver, and two year old Rusty. Love it great names. Gotta love
- 30:48a kidnamed Rusty. Okay, but she's saying, you know, it's the
- 30:52most efficient way, which I guess totally. But she says, when at
- 30:56night she showers, if she can get all three in the show with her,
- 31:00so everybody gets bathed, that wants great. Now, she does say
- 31:03she puts a towel on pretty quickly. She doesn't linger. But it's not
- 31:07just the shower that they're naked, she says. The boys run around naked
- 31:10all day long. They love it. They're proud of their bodies and their
- 31:14parts. See and you can look at this and go, oh my gosh,
- 31:18d gross, all of those I guess for me, I mean,
- 31:21I uh, we're a pretty open family, you know what I mean,
- 31:23Like I'm gonna change in front of my kid. I have a girl who
- 31:26will be five, and I have a little boy who's three and a half,
- 31:30and they're very familiar with what boobs are and all that. I mean,
- 31:33that's just that's a life. And you know, yes, you try
- 31:37to throw a towel on, you try to do, but ultimately my kids
- 31:40are gonna see me. It's also an opportunity to talk about, Hey,
- 31:42these are your parts, these are for you. This is what it is.
- 31:47As far as the showering goes one hundred percent, would I have Briggs
- 31:49pop in real quick and rintse off and do if it's easier that if he
- 31:52needs a bath or a shower and it's not happening or we're in a hurry,
- 31:56would not phase me up there? Nowbody's three, What about when he
- 31:59was seven? I guess if you look at it and you have a situation
- 32:02where you would make it weird or if you think it's weird in that way,
- 32:07yeah, okay, then that's gross. Yeah. Right. For me,
- 32:09it's like, no, these are our bodies. We're quick taking a
- 32:12shower, We're doing this. Hey, I will say, from the perspective
- 32:15of me being a boy having a mom, zero interest in seeing my mom
- 32:19naked. I mean, but of course you're gonna hear this headline and go,
- 32:22oh my gosh, a mom with three boys just showering as though she's
- 32:24in there enjoying it and making it sick and twisted. Or no, she's
- 32:28probably like, hey, I'm a meteorologist and I have to wake up at
- 32:31three am, so I have a few minutes with my kids. So I'm
- 32:35gonna throw them in the shower. We're gonna scrub it upub real quick and
- 32:37move on with our night. Oh yeah, we had a there's a photo
- 32:40that haunts me to this day of me and my siblings taking a bath together.
- 32:45You know, because because the photo is a little my sister's suits.
- 32:50I bet I think I'm like six and my brother's in high school. You
- 32:53know, it's just it was the age range was a little weird. But
- 32:58again, you're looking at it now and going, oh my gosh, But
- 33:01there wasn't a time when you were growing up going oh my gosh. Apparently
- 33:07no, we seem to be having a great time in there, scram a tough dumb
