- 0:27Speaker 2: Today is National Coffee Day. It's a big one. September 29th, U.S.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Coffee Day. Also, not to be outdone by just regular coffee,
- 0:36Speaker 2: it's National Mocha Day, too. Oh, yum. It's also National
- 0:40Speaker 2: Biscotti Day, which I think those all go nice together,
- 0:42Speaker 2: don't you?
- 0:43Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. We have a very special guest in the studio.
- 0:46Speaker 1: From Team.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Moms Baseball on Paramount Plus, which is shot here in town,
- 0:54Speaker 3: we have Nina.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Scafoni in the studio. So thanks for jumping in with us.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Yeah, thanks for having me.
- 0:59Speaker 1: What's the feedback been so far?
- 1:01Speaker 4: Overall, good, I feel like. Mixed reviews.
- 1:04Speaker 5: I mean, you definitely have some haters, especially when you're
- 1:06Speaker 5: like me and people see what I do on TV.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Do you feel like that's you, 100%? You know what?
- 1:15Speaker 5: I'm glad you asked because, yes, 100% watching it back,
- 1:18Speaker 5: I'm like, they did such a good job because that's me.
- 1:20Speaker 5: That's my personality. And I can't hate on that, right?
- 1:23Speaker 5: Because I would snoop around anyone's house.
- 1:25Speaker 2: What do you think people get wrong about you, Nina? Um.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:32Speaker 5: I think, well, I say it in the show. Like I'm,
- 1:35Speaker 5: I'm loud. I could be obnoxious. Like, I think that
- 1:37Speaker 5: might be a turnoff for some people.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Well, I like that.
- 1:40Speaker 3: From what I've seen, I watched the first two episodes
- 1:42Speaker 3: and then I skipped to the last episode.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:45Speaker 4: You're like, okay, this little bitch comments carrying on. Let's
- 1:48Speaker 4: just go.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I can't believe how far it went.
- 1:50Speaker 3: But I was actually interested in the first episode where
- 1:53Speaker 3: you get called in and, um, I carry you, you
- 1:57Speaker 3: had a problem.
- 1:58Speaker 1: What was the problem? You had a problem. You, Was
- 2:01Speaker 1: that the little bitch thing? You said, stop being a
- 2:02Speaker 1: little bitch? No, I mean, no.
- 2:03Speaker 4: You got mad at that. I call the coach a punk.
- 2:05Speaker 1: You call the coach a punk?
- 2:06Speaker 4: I'm just throwing out hate insults everywhere.
- 2:08Speaker 6: Well, that's because Rocco, her son, got bullied. And, like,
- 2:12Speaker 6: you didn't like how they handled it.
- 2:13Speaker 5: No, girl, you're mixing it all up. You're mixing up
- 2:15Speaker 5: the little bitch with the punk comment.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Okay, wait, wait, wait.
- 2:18Speaker 3: The first episode, you're called in because you had a problem.
- 2:21Speaker 3: You said, look, you can train my boy hard. You
- 2:23Speaker 3: be as tough as you want to be on him.
- 2:25Speaker 3: But then at the same time, you were like... Hey, wait,
- 2:27Speaker 3: you were a little too rough on him.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I know.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I know. I was like, wait a minute.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Editing at its finest because there was so much more.
- 2:35Speaker 4: To that story.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Okay, good. Because I was like, is this woman crazy?
- 2:38Speaker 1: I know. You do what you got to do to
- 2:40Speaker 1: my kid. Toughen him up.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Hey, you were a little too hard. Yeah, exactly.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Before you go, though, I want you to call us
- 2:45Speaker 2: all little bitches because we need that.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Oh, I will 100% do that. Hashtag.
- 2:49Speaker 2: You said the only true thing that I was screaming
- 2:52Speaker 2: at the TV the whole time where you're like, People
- 2:55Speaker 2: need to lighten up on their kids. There's like a
- 2:57Speaker 2: zero zero point three chance that you're going into the majors.
- 3:00Speaker 4: I know.
- 3:01Speaker 2: But it definitely seems like the other moms on that
- 3:04Speaker 2: show do not follow that. That's like, here's what we do.
- 3:07Speaker 2: We don't have fun. We train for the the majors
- 3:10Speaker 2: right now. And there's nothing in their heads that you
- 3:13Speaker 2: go to college and then after college, you're kind of done.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I know.
- 3:15Speaker 5: And I think that's an important thing is like Rocco
- 3:18Speaker 5: loves baseball now. Well, do we know if Rocco is
- 3:20Speaker 5: going to love baseball five years from now? We're supporting
- 3:22Speaker 5: his dream right now. Of course, we all hope that
- 3:26Speaker 5: he is successful and he makes it to the big time.
- 3:28Speaker 5: But like to like over, I don't know, promise something
- 3:32Speaker 5: and then under deliver it. I feel like you're just
- 3:34Speaker 5: setting your kid up for failure.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Let me ask you about the process of how the
- 3:37Speaker 3: show started because you were, you joined LPA and then
- 3:41Speaker 3: does Will sit all the parents down and go, we
- 3:43Speaker 3: have a reality show that wants to film us.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Does it work? How does it work?
- 3:47Speaker 4: I wasn't supposed to be on the show to tell
- 3:49Speaker 4: you the truth.
- 3:49Speaker 1: You weren't. How come?
- 3:50Speaker 5: I was supposed to be what they called supporting cast.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:54Speaker 5: And then this little bitch comment got out, and the
- 3:57Speaker 5: producers were like, we need to meet her. Oh, yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 1: There's no show without you.
- 4:01Speaker 3: But at some point, I mean, there's a meeting with everybody. Hey,
- 4:04Speaker 3: we're going to be doing a reality show.
- 4:05Speaker 1: If you want to be in it, you're in.
- 4:07Speaker 4: You know Will. He's just kind of laid back.
- 4:09Speaker 5: He's a laid back dude, and he's like, hey, we're
- 4:11Speaker 5: filming a reality show, and you should be in it, or.
- 4:14Speaker 4: You should talk to the producers. And we're like, cool,
- 4:16Speaker 4: let's talk.
- 4:16Speaker 5: We didn't know it was as big as it is.
- 4:20Speaker 1: At what point did you find out Kim Kardashian was involved?
- 4:24Speaker 5: I think right before we started filming. But then we
- 4:27Speaker 5: still didn't know. We were still very much like, oh,
- 4:30Speaker 5: this is a documentary.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Oh, a docu-series, not a reality show.
- 4:33Speaker 5: And then as things started progressing, we were like, I
- 4:36Speaker 5: actually quit the first week. I was like, I am
- 4:38Speaker 5: not cut out for this. I can't do this. And
- 4:40Speaker 5: then I came back.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Did they have you retake stuff? I do this again.
- 4:43Speaker 1: We're at the.
- 4:44Speaker 5: no actually like that's why in the first episode you
- 4:46Speaker 5: don't really see me very much.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Because you're the you're the first thing we see i
- 4:51Speaker 1: know but i think.
- 4:51Speaker 5: Maybe it's the second episode but i'm not really in
- 4:53Speaker 5: it as much because there was like a week there
- 4:55Speaker 5: where i had like a full-on anxiety attack and had
- 4:58Speaker 5: to be like taken like yeah.
- 4:59Speaker 6: But you don't seem like okay so peyton and i
- 5:01Speaker 6: went to like the official watch party and nina was
- 5:04Speaker 6: there and trina was there and scott was there and
- 5:06Speaker 6: like like heather was there there was like all like
- 5:08Speaker 6: the cast was there yeah minus oh yeah people we
- 5:12Speaker 6: didn't want there we uninvited but um But.
- 5:15Speaker 1: It was like on the show, too. It's in stride.
- 5:17Speaker 6: You like instantly see that like you like Nina is
- 5:20Speaker 6: who she is on the show.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Like I could see that right away. I don't know
- 5:22Speaker 1: if you could.
- 5:23Speaker 6: I mean, obviously it was like like we were laughing
- 5:25Speaker 6: with you.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Just completely yourself.
- 5:28Speaker 6: And to me, it's like I don't think you are
- 5:31Speaker 6: like doesn't seem like you're the type of person to
- 5:32Speaker 6: be scared of anything or like that you would be like.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Put off by that.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Well, I think you just reached a point in your
- 5:36Speaker 5: adulthood where you're like, OK, like I like I'm I
- 5:40Speaker 5: am not for everyone. And so that was part of
- 5:42Speaker 5: like me being scared and like quitting the show. And
- 5:45Speaker 5: I sat down and I had a long talk with
- 5:46Speaker 5: my husband and he was like, listen, if you're going
- 5:48Speaker 5: to do this. You just got to be yourself. Like,
- 5:50Speaker 5: just be who you are and, like, let people form
- 5:53Speaker 5: their opinions about you. And so we were like, well,
- 5:56Speaker 5: screw it. Let's just do it.
- 5:57Speaker 6: Okay, Nina, from Team Moms Baseball, I have to know,
- 6:00Speaker 6: because we haven't signed on for a season two yet.
- 6:03Speaker 6: We do know the season ended at the end of, like,
- 6:06Speaker 6: the school year. But now the new school year is already, like—
- 6:09Speaker 6: It's in. It's happening right now. So is it really
- 6:11Speaker 6: uncomfortable at LPA?
- 6:13Speaker 4: No.
- 6:14Speaker 5: I mean, that's what's great about LPA is we just
- 6:16Speaker 5: drop our kids off. We don't really have to see anyone.
- 6:18Speaker 1: It's not like there haven't been.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Any events or games where you're like... There was.
- 6:21Speaker 5: A parent meeting at the beginning of the year, but
- 6:25Speaker 5: everyone just acts like adults for the most part.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Okay, but you know, you dropped some pretty... heavy science
- 6:31Speaker 2: on some people there that maybe they didn't see until
- 6:33Speaker 2: the show came out when you're calling, you know, like
- 6:35Speaker 2: maybe some people you're like, if you're nice to them,
- 6:38Speaker 2: they're nice, but maybe they might be a phony baloney inside. Like,
- 6:41Speaker 2: do they not know about that until that airs? And
- 6:43Speaker 2: then you have to deal with them like this week, right?
- 6:46Speaker 5: Yeah but like Come have a conversation with me Like
- 6:48Speaker 5: let's Let's hash it out I'm all about like respect
- 6:51Speaker 5: If you want to have a conversation You could disagree
- 6:53Speaker 5: with me And we will have a like Respectful conversation
- 6:55Speaker 5: Like you saw in the show And we'll move on
- 6:57Speaker 5: And we'll be friends And Trina ends up being One
- 6:59Speaker 5: of my really good friends.
- 7:00Speaker 1: So Did you pay Did you get paid to be
- 7:02Speaker 1: on the show Am I allowed to talk about that?
- 7:06Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Next question.
- 7:09Speaker 6: It could just be yes or no, like not a
- 7:12Speaker 6: dollar amount.
- 7:13Speaker 1: You're a very interesting person. I can see why they
- 7:15Speaker 1: cast you. Pilates every day? Pilates every day.
- 7:17Speaker 4: When I can. I haven't been to my school. She's busy, Rich.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I'm busy being a reality star. You have Pilates.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Teachers, though. Yeah, my girls are the best.
- 7:25Speaker 1: They hold it down for me. So how do people
- 7:27Speaker 1: get a hold of Foreign Pilates if they want to go?
- 7:28Speaker 1: Is it just foreignpilates.com?
- 7:31Speaker 4: Foreignpilates.com, 480-400-8400.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Good. Well, we want to thank you for popping in.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Thank you so much for having me.
- 7:37Speaker 1: It's fun to watch.
- 7:38Speaker 4: I appreciate it, yeah.
