- 0:32Speaker 4: the bench our number three on a Monday morning tripod
- 0:35Speaker 4: rolling with your threes up. Three up, Lady Kane in
- 0:42Speaker 4: the Capitol City. In the Capitol City, closing off the show,
- 0:47Speaker 4: you never gave a good morning down the rude, good morning,
- 0:50Speaker 4: rude number three, Lady Kane said across from me right
- 0:54Speaker 4: here in the Raisin Kine studio, saying absolutely nothing. She's useless,
- 0:59Speaker 4: she's a mute, she just sits a good girl. She
- 1:03Speaker 4: does nothing. Though Money show brought to you by by Automotive.
- 1:07Speaker 4: We are about to have little winners and looters, but
- 1:10Speaker 4: before we do, I want to tell you about our
- 1:12Speaker 4: friends over at Pala. If you're running an industrial facility
- 1:15Speaker 4: anywhere across the golf South, here's something to keep in mind.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Do not let maintenance or capital dollars go unused just
- 1:20Speaker 4: because you're short on manpower. Pala has experienced maintenance crews
- 1:24Speaker 4: and supplemental staff and available right now to help with
- 1:27Speaker 4: plan outages, capital projects, routine maintenance and even emergency work.
- 1:30Speaker 4: So whether you need skilled craft, labor, planners, schedulers, safety professionals,
- 1:34Speaker 4: quality personnel or project management support, paler as the people
- 1:38Speaker 4: and the experience to keep your operation running safely and efficiently.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Remember Palace much more than just that maintenance. They also
- 1:45Speaker 4: provide mechanical construction, APIs, storage sanks, asmme pressure, vessel fabrication,
- 1:49Speaker 4: and a full range of specialty industrial services from planning
- 1:52Speaker 4: to final execution. They can handle the entire job. For
- 1:56Speaker 4: more than fifty years, companies across the Golf South have
- 1:58Speaker 4: trusted Pala to deliver those dependable results. Win it matters
- 2:02Speaker 4: most so if you've got maintenance or capital budget left
- 2:04Speaker 4: to put the word, give Pala, call Pala employee, own
- 2:07Speaker 4: relationship driven building together. All right, there's a lot of
- 2:13Speaker 4: good from this weekend. Maybe some bad we're gonna find
- 2:17Speaker 4: out right here. We get winners or losers. That's how
- 2:21Speaker 4: win it has done.
- 2:22Speaker 2: That's right.
- 2:23Speaker 5: We can't have anyone to freak out out there.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Okay, he's got a k bark apologer got too far
- 2:30Speaker 4: I'm by winning. I went here and I win there.
- 2:33Speaker 6: Now, what are you doing what it takes to win
- 2:37Speaker 6: a championship?
- 2:38Speaker 7: Wow?
- 2:38Speaker 4: Winning? Well, then I guess there's only one thing left
- 2:41Speaker 4: to do. What's that win the whole thing? All right,
- 2:51Speaker 4: Let's start this thing off with a winner that has
- 2:54Speaker 4: done a lot of winning in his career. Scottie Scheffler,
- 2:58Speaker 4: playing in the Saint Jude Champion and Chip and Memphis
- 3:01Speaker 4: Tennessee takes home. The victory, of course, comes in the
- 3:05Speaker 4: favor the number one golfer in the world has been
- 3:08Speaker 4: the number one golfer in the world for a long time.
- 3:12Speaker 4: He barely won this one, just scraped by. He won,
- 3:15Speaker 4: only won by eight strokes against the other best golfers
- 3:18Speaker 4: in the entire world. It seemed like this victory for
- 3:21Speaker 4: him was kind of it was coming like if Scotty
- 3:25Speaker 4: every tournament he plays, he is up there. He's had
- 3:28Speaker 4: eleven top five finishes this year. He's had a handful
- 3:31Speaker 4: of top two finishes. He's only had one other victory
- 3:34Speaker 4: in twenty twenty six, which is very not like Scotti Scheffler,
- 3:39Speaker 4: but he just hasn't been able to finish off some
- 3:41Speaker 4: of these tournaments and there's always been. He's always in
- 3:43Speaker 4: the top top five, top two, top three, but throughout
- 3:47Speaker 4: this year it's kind of been a little bit different year.
- 3:48Speaker 4: There's always been like one guy that's played is his
- 3:51Speaker 4: ass off and just played crazy and been able to
- 3:53Speaker 4: win some of these tournaments. Scotty's just been consistent, consistent, consistent.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Then all of a sudden he ties everything together. The
- 3:58Speaker 4: putter got hot, takes an eight stroke victory, which is
- 4:04Speaker 4: a pretty wild score in the world or professional golf.
- 4:07Speaker 4: So Scotty continues to show why he is one of
- 4:10Speaker 4: the best or the best in the world because he's
- 4:12Speaker 4: consistent every single week. He's his iron game, his approach
- 4:17Speaker 4: shots is second to absolutely none when it comes to consistency,
- 4:21Speaker 4: and when that putter gets hot for him, watch out everybody.
- 4:24Speaker 4: There is nobody that can beat him. So Scotty Shuffler
- 4:27Speaker 4: with my weekend winner.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Shout out Scotty. Is he washed?
- 4:31Speaker 4: Has he washed? Absolutely? Only two victories? Terrible, He's washed.
- 4:34Speaker 4: I think he's made like he's sixty million last and
- 4:39Speaker 4: twenty twenty four and twenty five. Not even gonna touch
- 4:41Speaker 4: that number that.
- 4:42Speaker 8: Shows wonted eight shots yesterday.
- 4:46Speaker 4: I mean, Tiger it would have been bet twenty.
- 4:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Whatever, people are talking.
- 4:52Speaker 3: People are talking weekend loser.
- 4:54Speaker 2: I don't think this came out this weekend, but it
- 4:56Speaker 2: was brought to my attention this weekend, and I don't
- 4:59Speaker 2: think we've talked ab out it. I'm gonna give Shadoor
- 5:02Speaker 2: Sanders a weekend loser. And this is why, Taylor, if
- 5:06Speaker 2: you want to a.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Sandwich, but if you had to, I ain't gotta do
- 5:11Speaker 5: nothing in life.
- 5:12Speaker 4: I don't feel like I ain't.
- 5:14Speaker 9: See to make be a little bit better. See why
- 5:16Speaker 9: is that?
- 5:16Speaker 4: Because no one else bit off of it.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Okay, that's basically all you need to see.
- 5:20Speaker 2: But I wanted you to hear the other couple of
- 5:22Speaker 2: answers because everybody had a normal answer the question. Okay,
- 5:26Speaker 2: if you're watching on or if you're listening on radio,
- 5:30Speaker 2: it's a brown social media video and there's like three
- 5:33Speaker 2: different options to where you could bite the sandwich, right,
- 5:35Speaker 2: and you're like, where's your next bite? Because you know,
- 5:39Speaker 2: eating a sandwich, you gotta like kind of got to
- 5:42Speaker 2: pick and choose which bite.
- 5:43Speaker 3: So basically that's what they're asking.
- 5:44Speaker 4: All of the really good question is that's me? Right?
- 5:48Speaker 3: Know the answer? See I'm going to see next the
- 5:51Speaker 3: edge piece, like the.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Next bite I'm going to I'm taking then, But either
- 5:56Speaker 2: way whatever, we can get into that later. But it
- 6:01Speaker 2: they're asking everybody this, and everybody has a normal answer, like, yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 2: just answer the question. Are you too good for sandwiches?
- 6:09Speaker 4: Are you too good for peanut butter and jelly?
- 6:11Speaker 2: Are you too good to eat a sandwich? Or to
- 6:14Speaker 2: even just entertain this stupid question that they're asking you, like,
- 6:18Speaker 2: just be cool. Everybody else had a normal answer, what
- 6:22Speaker 2: you're too good to answer this question?
- 6:24Speaker 3: Like that's why.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Nobody likes you, Like you want to be a victim
- 6:28Speaker 2: and play victim all the time. That is exactly why
- 6:30Speaker 2: nobody likes you.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Just answer the question.
- 6:33Speaker 8: It does seem kind of like a little stick that
- 6:35Speaker 8: he's pulling it right, Like, what's the point. It's not
- 6:36Speaker 8: a trick question, buddy, Just answer nothing.
- 6:41Speaker 3: No, you don't, but like, just to answer the question,
- 6:43Speaker 3: just have fun with.
- 6:44Speaker 4: It, and like you gotta picture the person asking it
- 6:47Speaker 4: to the social media person, Yeah, probably probably someone very nice,
- 6:50Speaker 4: sweet girl. You see him all the time because they
- 6:53Speaker 4: work for the Browns. Yes, you see him every single day.
- 6:55Speaker 4: So it's not just like some stuck up nerd that
- 6:59Speaker 4: you've never seen before was come and ask you a question.
- 7:01Speaker 4: This is like someone you are very familiar with.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Yes, that just irritated me.
- 7:06Speaker 4: That is, that's problems film.
- 7:08Speaker 3: It irritated me.
- 7:09Speaker 4: That is that's really annoying. Yes, I don't have to
- 7:14Speaker 4: do nothing in life. It's a it's a fun question
- 7:18Speaker 4: about a paint about her and jelly sandwich.
- 7:20Speaker 3: It's just a sandwich.
- 7:21Speaker 4: You've got in one side, the middle or the other side.
- 7:23Speaker 10: Without trying to trick you should or just answer.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Everybody else answered it normally and we were talking about
- 7:29Speaker 2: the same like this is like a normal thing that
- 7:31Speaker 2: social media people do for teams, and everybody answered. They
- 7:35Speaker 2: asked the Saints one that we were talking about last
- 7:37Speaker 2: week where it was like would you fight for me
- 7:39Speaker 2: if somebody was bullying me? And then she's like, well
- 7:41Speaker 2: what if it was Chase Young And everybody had like
- 7:43Speaker 2: a funny good reaction to it, like yeah, should or
- 7:46Speaker 2: just have fun with it.
- 7:47Speaker 4: I gotta find I do nothing in life.
- 7:49Speaker 3: No, you really don't, but just answer, like again, this.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Is why not going to fight you? You can just
- 7:55Speaker 4: answer the question.
- 7:56Speaker 8: And also like but there wasn't even a wrong answer,
- 8:00Speaker 8: as far as a B and C. The only way
- 8:02Speaker 8: you can have a wrong answer is answer it the
- 8:04Speaker 8: way that you did right. If you pick a B
- 8:07Speaker 8: or C, nobody's gonna care. It's a personal preference. Now
- 8:10Speaker 8: you just look like a moron. You look like a douche, which.
- 8:15Speaker 4: I think you feel like people are gonna be more okay.
- 8:17Speaker 3: With well, we're too good for sandwiches.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Now about Deshaun Watson's off field behavior more than this
- 8:22Speaker 4: peanut butter and jelly question.
- 8:24Speaker 3: You know what I forgive Deshaun Sean I'm sorry.
- 8:28Speaker 4: I mean time, time heels.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Time heels all.
- 8:30Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean this was the reason he and j timeless.
- 8:33Speaker 3: I've gotten everybody here has gotten a massage before.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Yep hmm. Absolutely, he's gotten a few more than posts.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 8:42Speaker 10: I never have sucks.
- 8:46Speaker 4: It's an indictment. It's a character in Diamond.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I think so too.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Why why did he slip to the fifth Well, because
- 8:51Speaker 4: they probably asked him questions similar to that.
- 8:53Speaker 3: He probably answered it like that.
- 8:55Speaker 8: And you you heard that in the draft process, right,
- 8:57Speaker 8: people were like they didn't love his interview us with
- 9:00Speaker 8: with the front office.
- 9:01Speaker 10: He came off a certain way.
- 9:03Speaker 8: It's it's not a huge deal this alone, but when
- 9:06Speaker 8: you pair that with some of the things you've heard
- 9:08Speaker 8: in the past, it's it's part of a larger issue.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Does Does it come off as cocky ors it come
- 9:13Speaker 4: off as unintelligent?
- 9:15Speaker 10: All of the above?
- 9:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it comes off as both.
- 9:18Speaker 4: I think he's a smart kid, but I think sometimes
- 9:21Speaker 4: when he answers questions, I don't know if he's like
- 9:23Speaker 4: aloof or a d D or like what it is,
- 9:26Speaker 4: he comes off as unintelligent sometimes when he and I
- 9:29Speaker 4: know he is smart because you gotta be smart to
- 9:31Speaker 4: play that position at a high level, and he comes
- 9:34Speaker 4: from a smart like I think Dion's are very intelligent,
- 9:38Speaker 4: highly intelligent person. Yeah, I don't know. It just comes
- 9:43Speaker 4: off as like either arrogant or dumb. I guess both
- 9:48Speaker 4: can be true.
- 9:50Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Anyways, anyway, that was mine.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Sean Watson for KB, that.
- 9:55Speaker 8: One was really good weekend winner for me. I'll go
- 10:00Speaker 8: a two parter on this first one. All the rookie
- 10:03Speaker 8: quarterbacks we saw over the weekend, they put on a show.
- 10:06Speaker 8: Like I thought, Ty Simpson probably the best of the
- 10:08Speaker 8: bunch over the weekend. Twenty one of twenty five won
- 10:11Speaker 8: ninety two touchdowns, no turnovers.
- 10:13Speaker 10: Looked really good.
- 10:14Speaker 8: Garrett Nelsmeyer in that same game, our guy thirteen of nineteen,
- 10:18Speaker 8: just ninety eight yards, but I was telling you he
- 10:20Speaker 8: had like a forty yard pass ironically a screen pass
- 10:23Speaker 8: that was set up correctly Maden, but for like forty
- 10:26Speaker 8: yards it got called back because of the holding penalty, right,
- 10:29Speaker 8: so he would have been well over one twenty if
- 10:31Speaker 8: that plays said him.
- 10:32Speaker 4: He also had what would have been a ninety four
- 10:34Speaker 4: yard touchdown pass dropped the deep ball, yeah, a little
- 10:37Speaker 4: bit under thrown. He kind of led him to the inside,
- 10:40Speaker 4: which allowed the corner to kind of like disrupt the
- 10:42Speaker 4: receiver a little bit, but the ball wouldn't touch. He
- 10:44Speaker 4: hit the gay and the chest bounced off even probably
- 10:46Speaker 4: would have scored.
- 10:47Speaker 10: Even with all that.
- 10:47Speaker 8: He only missed six throws the entire game. And I
- 10:49Speaker 8: mean thirteen of nineteen, he was really good. But kind
- 10:53Speaker 8: of adding to that, we could winner the Pittsburgh Steelers,
- 10:56Speaker 8: and not because they beat the Green Bay Packers in
- 10:58Speaker 8: a preseason game. Who cares about that. Their quarterback situation
- 11:02Speaker 8: behind Aaron Rodgers kind of looking pretty good. I mean, huh,
- 11:07Speaker 8: all four quarterbacks combined, all three quarterbacks combined miss six
- 11:12Speaker 8: throws over the weekend. Drew Aller ten of thirteen, Mason
- 11:15Speaker 8: Rudolph ten of eleven, Will Howard seven of nine. Drew
- 11:18Speaker 8: Aller also won fifty three to two touchdowns another rushing touchdown.
- 11:21Speaker 8: He was awesome as well. So, look, Aaron has stated
- 11:24Speaker 8: this is his last year. I don't know which one
- 11:26Speaker 8: of these three guys is going to step up, but
- 11:28Speaker 8: they're all playing pretty well right now. And word is
- 11:31Speaker 8: this is not just a one off. They all look
- 11:32Speaker 8: really good in camp as well. So I've heard Mike
- 11:34Speaker 8: McCarthy say the same things in his intera. I saw
- 11:37Speaker 8: him with Pat McAfee.
- 11:38Speaker 4: I've seen him doing another interview talking very highly of
- 11:41Speaker 4: his young quarterbacks and where they feel. Of course, Mike
- 11:43Speaker 4: McCarthy's not there just for one year. Aaron is, but
- 11:46Speaker 4: not Mike. Mike's gonna be looking at the future as well,
- 11:49Speaker 4: and I think he really likes what he has in
- 11:50Speaker 4: those young quarterbacks. So so uh good for that. And
- 11:53Speaker 4: nus Myr, Yeah, he looked great, dude, he balled out,
- 11:55Speaker 4: no surprise us. It turns out still nus Myer is
- 11:58Speaker 4: actually good at football. He didn't become just bad at football.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Last year. So damn me, you Brian Kelly.
- 12:08Speaker 8: What you're saying is that he didn't forget how to
- 12:11Speaker 8: throw a football.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Well, we thought he did, you know, and his right
- 12:14Speaker 4: after his leg fell off in camp last year. We
- 12:18Speaker 4: thought he just forgot how to read defenses. We thought
- 12:21Speaker 4: he forgot to throw a football. He became a bad athlete,
- 12:24Speaker 4: just like that, with a blink of an eye. We
- 12:26Speaker 4: thought that was the case. But I guess you know,
- 12:28Speaker 4: there's another LSU Tiger that we did not maximize their
- 12:33Speaker 4: potential at LSU, but are gonna probably go on to
- 12:36Speaker 4: have a pretty good NFL career what could have been. Sorry,
- 12:41Speaker 4: we got Lane. Now we're good. We're set, all right.
- 12:45Speaker 4: My next week in winter this we're gonna go to
- 12:48Speaker 4: we go to baseball one. Tommy White had his first probe.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Oh my bad. Got the chest, his batting average chest
- 12:58Speaker 4: come down. He started out hot, he was like three
- 13:00Speaker 4: at about two fifty three right now, but got his
- 13:02Speaker 4: suppose first danger, which is awesome, But shout out Tommy.
- 13:05Speaker 4: There was another guy made his major league baseball debut,
- 13:09Speaker 4: Joshua Baiez. I can't pretend that I know much about
- 13:12Speaker 4: this fella. Oh no, I do know it plays with
- 13:14Speaker 4: the Saint Louis Cardinals, and I do know that he
- 13:16Speaker 4: went three for three with three home runs. Come on,
- 13:20Speaker 4: this major league debut? Is this the greatest professional debut
- 13:25Speaker 4: in sports of all time? I mean, I know we're talking.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I'm hard pressed to find you another one.
- 13:30Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, I know we like to overreact in
- 13:33Speaker 8: sports a lot, Like he was literally perfect at the play,
- 13:35Speaker 8: three for three, three home runs, So like, how can
- 13:37Speaker 8: you be better than that?
- 13:39Speaker 4: Yeah? I asked our friend Chad Gbt. Yeah, what's the
- 13:42Speaker 4: best performances ever? And I think like one of them
- 13:45Speaker 4: was weird, And I gave me Marcus Mariot I had
- 13:47Speaker 4: like a perfect passer rated in his first game and
- 13:49Speaker 4: four touchdowns or something pretty good. Yeah, but my god,
- 13:53Speaker 4: three home runs in your first three of bats is
- 13:55Speaker 4: uh hard to do?
- 13:58Speaker 2: What?
- 13:59Speaker 4: Like, did he have like a billion dingers in minor
- 14:01Speaker 4: leagues or what? And why is he just now batting
- 14:06Speaker 4: on August seventeenth? Suit he did the next game.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I'm trying to catch up on him right now over five.
- 14:11Speaker 10: Oh, he got it all out on their awesome.
- 14:15Speaker 4: But that debut was sweet. He's hit or miss, literally.
- 14:20Speaker 2: So he had committed to Vandy, but signed with the Cardinals,
- 14:24Speaker 2: dropped to fifty fourth overall in twenty twenty one.
- 14:29Speaker 10: Well, so these are bombs.
- 14:30Speaker 8: They're like not, They're not like they weren't close calls
- 14:32Speaker 8: fairly over the outfielders trying to rob it.
- 14:34Speaker 4: No, no, I.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Mean he wasn't. He wasn't doing great in the miners.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Those are pretty confident swings.
- 14:48Speaker 7: Oh.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Actually, this this season during spring training he was batting
- 14:55Speaker 2: three thirty.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Three classic send him to miners, option.
- 15:00Speaker 3: To the Redbirds.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Hit four home runs in the Redbirds game on June sixteenth.
- 15:06Speaker 2: So this guy's just out here hitting dingers. And if
- 15:08Speaker 2: he ain't hitting dingers, he ain't hitting anything else.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Swinging hard, Yeah, he ain't hitting for contact. Is that
- 15:16Speaker 4: what you're saying?
- 15:16Speaker 10: Yeah, no, dude, he's swinging for the fences every day.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Do you see what l she was doing this season?
- 15:21Speaker 8: So to the to the point of the second game
- 15:24Speaker 8: he was over for five three strikeouts. Today he's swinging
- 15:27Speaker 8: for the fences mad. If he gets a hold of it,
- 15:29Speaker 8: watch out.
- 15:34Speaker 4: We brought up a lot of the rookie quarterbacks when
- 15:39Speaker 4: we come back. Oh, hey, does anybody else have a
- 15:43Speaker 4: winner or a loser?
- 15:44Speaker 9: No, Uh.
- 15:46Speaker 4: When we come back, what I want to do is
- 15:47Speaker 4: I want to take a look at second year quarterbacks
- 15:51Speaker 4: headed into the NFL, and I want to do a
- 15:54Speaker 4: what we would do if we had to go back
- 15:57Speaker 4: and do the draft all over again. Let's see which
- 16:00Speaker 4: quarterbacks would make the cut, who we would take first, second, third, fourth,
- 16:05Speaker 4: all that good stuff. We'll look at the second year
- 16:07Speaker 4: quarterbacks in NFL going into this season. When we come back,
- 16:11Speaker 4: right here and off the bench. After bench, I go
- 16:15Speaker 4: to trash rangers dot com. Trash rangers dot com h
- 16:18Speaker 4: Louisiana's leader when it comes to trash removal, when it
- 16:21Speaker 4: comes to that service, when it comes to that customer service.
- 16:23Speaker 4: So we're talking residential commercial. If you have a place
- 16:26Speaker 4: of business and you need some sort of help, you
- 16:30Speaker 4: need to improve your trash pickup. You need to add
- 16:32Speaker 4: some trash pick like. Call trash ranger. They just talk

- 17:22Speaker 1: Off the bench with Hester and Flynn presented by Buyou Automotive.
- 17:29Speaker 9: But dope ready to make it trink so bad?
- 17:31Speaker 6: Gold up?
- 17:34Speaker 4: All right, welcome back here off the bench, up from
- 17:36Speaker 4: the raise and can't suit him. Monday Show brought to
- 17:38Speaker 4: you by by You Automotive. We're gonna talk a little
- 17:40Speaker 4: second year quarterbacks. But before we do that, I want
- 17:43Speaker 4: to tell you about our friends over at Catterists. When
- 17:45Speaker 4: you think about Louisiana, you think about energy, and one
- 17:48Speaker 4: company helping shape the future is Catterist. Catterists is developing
- 17:51Speaker 4: the Commonwealth LG export facility right there in camera Parish,
- 17:55Speaker 4: connecting American natural gas with customers around the globe, now
- 17:58Speaker 4: under construction after reaching the final investment decision in twenty
- 18:01Speaker 4: twenty six. The project represents a major investment in Louisiana's future.
- 18:05Speaker 4: But it's about more than exporting energy. It's about creating jobs,
- 18:09Speaker 4: supporting local businesses, and strengthening communities and reinforcing Louisiana's ficient
- 18:13Speaker 4: position as one of the world's leading energy hubs through
- 18:17Speaker 4: its natural gas production and the Commonwealth Energy Project, catterists
- 18:20Speaker 4: helping build an integrated energy platform that connects domestic resources
- 18:25Speaker 4: with the growing global demand. As construction continues on Louisiana's
- 18:30Speaker 4: Gulf Coast, Cateterist is proud to invest in American energy,
- 18:32Speaker 4: American workers, and a stronger economic future. Caterusts connecting Louisiana
- 18:36Speaker 4: energy to the world. All Right, we've talked a little
- 18:40Speaker 4: bit about Jackson Dart and his play style a little bit,
- 18:45Speaker 4: having to get taken off and get evaluated for yet
- 18:47Speaker 4: another concussion, only like one or two drives into the
- 18:50Speaker 4: first preseason game, and it kind of got by wheels.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Turning about the Class of twenty twenty five quarterbacks, the
- 18:59Speaker 4: top quarterback that came out of that draft. Of course,
- 19:01Speaker 4: there's a lot of mid to late round guys that
- 19:04Speaker 4: have not had an opportunity to play in live action
- 19:07Speaker 4: in the regular season, but they're getting an opportunity now
- 19:09Speaker 4: and a lot of players, a lot of a lot
- 19:11Speaker 4: of quarterbacks are looking really good, and that's kind of
- 19:13Speaker 4: what happens in preseason. You get good numbers, you get
- 19:15Speaker 4: good performances, and third fourth quarter of these preseason games
- 19:20Speaker 4: a lot to potentially overreact to, but a lot to
- 19:23Speaker 4: analyze and evaluate with these quarterbacks. But there is a
- 19:27Speaker 4: handful of quarterbacks from the twenty twenty five class that
- 19:30Speaker 4: are going into their second year that you can evaluate
- 19:33Speaker 4: based on real data. You can evaluate based on how
- 19:37Speaker 4: they played in the regular season, and we saw it
- 19:40Speaker 4: and they were mostly the top draft picks. So what
- 19:44Speaker 4: I want to do is kind of go around. And
- 19:47Speaker 4: the twenty twenty five last number one overall pick was
- 19:50Speaker 4: cam Ward. Rightfully, so great player goes to Tennessee, plays
- 19:54Speaker 4: the entire season last year and shows flashes, but terrible team,
- 20:00Speaker 4: awful team, awful support around him. It can't be any
- 20:04Speaker 4: worse this year. So it's got to be at least
- 20:06Speaker 4: a little bit better this year. We will see And
- 20:08Speaker 4: I always talk about the biggest jump for quarterback in
- 20:11Speaker 4: professional football comes can come between year one and two.
- 20:15Speaker 4: That's the time that I made my biggest jump. That's
- 20:18Speaker 4: the time where coaches and upper office folks they say,
- 20:22Speaker 4: all right, this is like, now you've got a year
- 20:23Speaker 4: under your belt. You understand the speed. Now you can
- 20:26Speaker 4: speak the offense fluently because you've been in it. You're
- 20:29Speaker 4: not just like memorizing things. You're not just like trying
- 20:31Speaker 4: to execute like a play like a strong on the playbook.
- 20:34Speaker 4: You are understanding what we are trying to do to
- 20:36Speaker 4: attack a defense, and you got a year to understand
- 20:39Speaker 4: how these defenses operate. There, it's much more detailed, it's
- 20:42Speaker 4: much more intrigate. You got higher, you got better athletes,
- 20:45Speaker 4: you got more experienced people than you did in college.
- 20:47Speaker 4: So it takes a little while to get caught up
- 20:49Speaker 4: into that. The second pick, the second quarterback taken was
- 20:54Speaker 4: Jackson Dart. Then Tyler Shuck was taken in the second round.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Now because of sperience and because it was by default
- 21:01Speaker 4: and made the Pro Bowl, I'm gonna throw a shadoor
- 21:03Speaker 4: Sanders in this as well. So if we got these
- 21:05Speaker 4: four quarterbacks, cam Ward Jackson, Dart Tyler, Shuck Shador Sanders,
- 21:12Speaker 4: what order after one year? What order are you drafting
- 21:16Speaker 4: these four quarterbacks? And let's start with the fourth in there?
- 21:22Speaker 4: Do you want to I'm basing this off guys that
- 21:25Speaker 4: had a lot of experience last year, like we actually
- 21:27Speaker 4: got to see Priam and most of these are the
- 21:29Speaker 4: top guys. I'm not gonna throw Dylan Gaber on there
- 21:33Speaker 4: because like Browns have already told us pretty much like
- 21:36Speaker 4: what that and he's another guy that had a lot
- 21:38Speaker 4: of a lot of playing experience. But let's sorry, of
- 21:42Speaker 4: those four, who are you ranking the fourth quarterback in
- 21:45Speaker 4: that group? I think that's pretty an obvious answer from
- 21:47Speaker 4: this group based on our conversation.
- 21:49Speaker 10: I think this is easy.
- 21:50Speaker 8: Despite the fact that he was a pro bowler last year.
- 21:52Speaker 8: I think should I think you'd always got to go last,
- 21:54Speaker 8: just based on what they did a year ago.
- 21:57Speaker 4: I would agree with that, Landrovers, assuming you're gonna agree
- 21:59Speaker 4: with that.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean out of the ones that you gave us.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, let's go to where the real debate happens.
- 22:08Speaker 10: Number Two's my biggest one.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Number two is your biggest one. Okay, so number three
- 22:14Speaker 4: in our list between Jackson Dart, Tyler Shuck, cam Ward
- 22:21Speaker 4: if you had to read draft, who is the third
- 22:24Speaker 4: person on this list?
- 22:27Speaker 9: For me?
- 22:28Speaker 2: Yep, I think I'm gonna go third on this one.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I feel like maybe we're all on the same page here,
- 22:38Speaker 2: Like is it between Tyler Shuck and Jackson Dart for y'all?
- 22:41Speaker 8: So no, it's between cam Warden like cam Ward I
- 22:45Speaker 8: love cam Woard and he was in an awful situation
- 22:48Speaker 8: a year ago, and just yep, chucking Dart.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Like I think I'm gonna go here Jackson Dart.
- 22:55Speaker 4: Okay, Jackson Dart. You would pick him third. So if
- 22:58Speaker 4: we redrafted in the same draft as since, he would
- 23:00Speaker 4: be going in the second round potentially. Now, I think
- 23:06Speaker 4: that the only reason why because he had great flashes,
- 23:10Speaker 4: like he came in and played very well at multiple
- 23:13Speaker 4: times and much more and people a lot more people
- 23:15Speaker 4: got to see it because it's prime time they're playing
- 23:17Speaker 4: prime time Saints or not. Titans certainly weren't. Yeah, so
- 23:21Speaker 4: more eyes got to be on Jackson Dart. I think
- 23:25Speaker 4: the risk of his longevity, his play style, is he
- 23:29Speaker 4: going to have that stigma put on him like odd say, no,
- 23:33Speaker 4: he's going to figure it out. He's going to learn,
- 23:34Speaker 4: he's going to learn how to play a little bit smarter.
- 23:36Speaker 4: But you don't know, you don't know.
- 23:38Speaker 3: No, I think in terms of maturity for me to.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Tyler Schuck is more obviously what I think of when
- 23:48Speaker 2: I think of a quarterback than Jackson Dart.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think that this. I think this whole
- 23:52Speaker 4: draft class, like the twenty twenty five quarterback draft class,
- 23:55Speaker 4: is going to go down as a pretty good one.
- 23:57Speaker 4: I mean, you got guys that have not played yet,
- 24:00Speaker 4: that have shown flashes. We talked about Will Howard. You
- 24:04Speaker 4: mentioned Colin McCord playing well the other day in Green Bay.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Riley Leonard with the Colts kind of remains to be seen.
- 24:09Speaker 4: What's gonna happen with him. We'll see how this. But
- 24:13Speaker 4: I think this is gonna be a pretty decent quarterback class.
- 24:15Speaker 4: And so this is no like we're not doing this
- 24:17Speaker 4: to like say anybody's bad or anything. It's just like
- 24:21Speaker 4: it's always interesting and go back and say who would
- 24:23Speaker 4: you take based on what we know now, And it's
- 24:26Speaker 4: certainly early in their career, but I'm gonna take jack. Like,
- 24:29Speaker 4: if I'm putting those three against each other right now,
- 24:31Speaker 4: I'm gonna say Jackson Dart three as well.
- 24:34Speaker 8: Yeah, I was, even though he was in between Darter
- 24:37Speaker 8: cam Ward because Dart technically had a better year last year,
- 24:41Speaker 8: a little bit more efficient.
- 24:43Speaker 10: Ward was in an awful situation. I just think.
- 24:45Speaker 8: Cam's gonna be really good. So I'm gonna do a
- 24:48Speaker 8: little bit of projecting as well, So I'll go Jackson
- 24:50Speaker 8: Dart three.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Okay, all right, I'm gonna go Jackson R three. We're
- 24:53Speaker 4: all in the agreeents there. Number two for me, I'm
- 24:59Speaker 4: gonna take. I'm gonna take Tyler Shuck at number two.
- 25:03Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna put him a number two just
- 25:05Speaker 4: because I believe I think cam Ward's a dog. Yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 4: and not just based on what his teammates that have
- 25:11Speaker 4: gotten released from the Titans and they go to a
- 25:13Speaker 4: different team, they've shouted him out and talked about how
- 25:16Speaker 4: much of a leader he is. Not to say the
- 25:18Speaker 4: titleist isn't like I know people I do this just
- 25:21Speaker 4: because we think one person's good doesn't mean we think
- 25:23Speaker 4: the other person's not good. Here, I just think cam
- 25:26Speaker 4: Ward is gonna be really good, good and he's got
- 25:31Speaker 4: like this like this nonch nonchalant like attitude, confident, but
- 25:38Speaker 4: like not uptight. He just looks comfortable playing football. And
- 25:43Speaker 4: I think once they once they can build talon around him,
- 25:46Speaker 4: I think he's going to I think he was a
- 25:48Speaker 4: very well deserved number one overall pick, and I think
- 25:51Speaker 4: he's gonna live up to that name. Now. I don't
- 25:53Speaker 4: know if it'll be this year. I don't know. I
- 25:54Speaker 4: think he's gonna, of course, still look really good at times,
- 25:57Speaker 4: and their team's gonna look bad at probably more often
- 26:00Speaker 4: than not. Just based on what I've seen so far,
- 26:02Speaker 4: we've seen a lot more of cam than we have
- 26:04Speaker 4: Tyler and Jackson for that matter. We've seen a lot more,
- 26:07Speaker 4: and it didn't look great at times. But my god,
- 26:10Speaker 4: he did not have a lot of help last year.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah, he wasn't in a good situation. I mean, you're
- 26:14Speaker 2: the number one overall pick. You're not going to be
- 26:17Speaker 2: going to or like the number one whatever, You're not
- 26:19Speaker 2: gonna be going to like a great organization.
- 26:23Speaker 3: So I think that that was kind of against him.
- 26:25Speaker 2: But I just think cam Ward, if he can get
- 26:28Speaker 2: into if you can build around him or get into
- 26:32Speaker 2: another system, I think he's gonna be great, and so
- 26:35Speaker 2: I'm with you. I'm gonna go Tyler Shuck to and
- 26:38Speaker 2: then cam Ward won.
- 26:40Speaker 4: You can't unsee what we saw with Tyler Shuck last year.
- 26:42Speaker 4: I may led the NFL and what third down efficiency
- 26:45Speaker 4: and the last month of month of the season won
- 26:48Speaker 4: five games at the end, Like what he did was awesome,
- 26:52Speaker 4: And reports are that out of camp he's kind of
- 26:56Speaker 4: maybe after like that first week, you've started to see
- 26:59Speaker 4: that again. At this off under Tyler Shek has been
- 27:01Speaker 4: operating at a very high level. So I think his
- 27:03Speaker 4: jump is gonna be awesome, especially if they can keep
- 27:05Speaker 4: those two receivers. I think Tyler Sheck is headed for
- 27:08Speaker 4: a really good year at quarterback.
- 27:11Speaker 9: I like it.
- 27:11Speaker 8: We're a little bit different because I'll go Cam second.
- 27:15Speaker 8: I think Cam is gonna be awesome. I think he
- 27:17Speaker 8: probably had the best situation change between last year and
- 27:20Speaker 8: this year. Like you brought in Wando Robinson, who was
- 27:23Speaker 8: a thousand yard receiver a year ago in a bad offense.
- 27:26Speaker 8: You drafted Carnell Tate. They tried to shore up that
- 27:29Speaker 8: offensive line. We'll see how that looks. If you watch
- 27:31Speaker 8: him on quarterback, you're gonna fall in love with the
- 27:33Speaker 8: dude even more like he was great. And then even
- 27:36Speaker 8: when he would make a mistake on the field because
- 27:38Speaker 8: he was Mike double Lot, he'd come off He's like, no,
- 27:40Speaker 8: I know what I did wrong, Like it's here here, here, here, here,
- 27:42Speaker 8: so like he knows what he's doing. It's not like
- 27:44Speaker 8: it was a show shock when he was out there.
- 27:46Speaker 8: Just don't think he had a lot of help. I
- 27:48Speaker 8: just can't get what Tyler Schuck did at the end
- 27:50Speaker 8: of the year out of my head. Yeah, I mean
- 27:51Speaker 8: so special was awful. He took him to a five
- 27:54Speaker 8: and four record. You mentioned the third down efficiency. He
- 27:57Speaker 8: had the best completion percentage sixty seven point six. And
- 28:00Speaker 8: I think his situation has gotten better as well, like
- 28:04Speaker 8: Travis a Chains here you spent you got the number
- 28:07Speaker 8: one guard in free agency, and David Edwards, I think
- 28:10Speaker 8: you're a lot better at receivers. So I'll take him
- 28:13Speaker 8: based on last year in this year, but dude, it's tough.
- 28:15Speaker 8: I think Kemboard's gonna be really good, yea, I think
- 28:17Speaker 8: and look, I think those I think those three quarterbacks
- 28:20Speaker 8: potentially you are in for a really long and very
- 28:23Speaker 8: good NFL career.
- 28:24Speaker 4: All three of those guys. I had a chador in
- 28:28Speaker 4: there and just I want to see Taylor's face. It
- 28:31Speaker 4: was an easy fourth. It got the conversation started, It
- 28:35Speaker 4: got us kicked off. But like, look I do based
- 28:38Speaker 4: on like what Tyler did in last year. Man, We've
- 28:41Speaker 4: said it for four segments now today, if Jordan Tyson
- 28:45Speaker 4: and Chris Olave are on the field at the same time,
- 28:47Speaker 4: based on what the clips that we've seen out of practice,
- 28:51Speaker 4: his route running ability, we know what a Lave can do.
- 28:54Speaker 4: This offense like could be dangerous dangers. This offense could
- 29:00Speaker 4: keep defensive coordinators up at night. We I think we're
- 29:04Speaker 4: starting to feel really confident in Kellen Moore's ability to
- 29:06Speaker 4: coach his team and coach offense. We know what Tyler
- 29:09Speaker 4: Shuck can do based on what we saw, and we
- 29:11Speaker 4: have now seen and got glimpses and got teased with
- 29:14Speaker 4: the skill level of Jordan Tyson. So I mean, stay
- 29:18Speaker 4: healthy like that's that's like this is going to be
- 29:21Speaker 4: hamstring watch for sure for me because if he can
- 29:23Speaker 4: be healthy, look out it could be it could be
- 29:25Speaker 4: a special year. But I'm gonna still give the nod
- 29:27Speaker 4: right now to cam Ward over Tyler Shuck. But if
- 29:31Speaker 4: we're read drafting, I'm taking Tyler Shuck with at the
- 29:34Speaker 4: second overall quarterback, at least in the twenty twenty five draft.
- 29:37Speaker 2: All right, Hey, what Jake just sent us an interview
- 29:42Speaker 2: with Tyler Shuck.
- 29:46Speaker 4: This guy I asked him Friday. This guy said the
- 29:51Speaker 4: two is a nine thirty two.
- 29:53Speaker 10: Yeah, he made it.
- 29:54Speaker 4: He made it, he made it.
- 29:55Speaker 3: All right, you want to play.
- 29:56Speaker 4: You want to play it, Jake, Tyler Shuck talking possibly next,
- 30:01Speaker 4: So don't stay tuned with us right here and off
- 30:03Speaker 4: the bench.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Off the bench, tease.

- 32:31Speaker 4: All right, let's get to it. Jacob Pester. Last week
- 32:33Speaker 4: was has been traveling around to all the training camps.
- 32:36Speaker 4: In the last Thursday he was in New Orleans. Got
- 32:38Speaker 4: to catch up with Tyler Shuck.
- 32:40Speaker 6: All right and welcome back in series XM NFL Radio
- 32:43Speaker 6: Channel eighty eight.
- 32:44Speaker 5: Again.
- 32:44Speaker 6: We were bootsing the ground here at Saints training camp
- 32:46Speaker 6: at a very spirited practice with Jacksonville. Today we're gonna
- 32:50Speaker 6: talk about that practice and more with quarterback Tyler Shuck
- 32:53Speaker 6: who joins us now. Tyler, always a pleasure, my man,
- 32:55Speaker 6: if you're doing well.
- 32:56Speaker 5: Yes, sir, appreciate you guys having me.
- 32:58Speaker 9: The theme of the day for me at least because
- 32:59Speaker 9: I was here a year ago.
- 33:01Speaker 6: Is last year we interviewed three quarterbacks and it was
- 33:03Speaker 6: a competition. Still we're here earlier in camp than we
- 33:06Speaker 6: are here this year, but that's what it was. And
- 33:09Speaker 6: then you know, Spencer wins a job and then you
- 33:11Speaker 6: take over in the middle of the season and haven't
- 33:13Speaker 6: looked back since then. But the quarterback room right now,
- 33:16Speaker 6: from where it was last year to where it's at
- 33:18Speaker 6: right now, feels like you'll compliment each other so well.
- 33:20Speaker 6: Both of y'all had success out there today. Like what
- 33:23Speaker 6: has it been for you now in year number two
- 33:25Speaker 6: after the way yet you know last year started, you're
- 33:27Speaker 6: going through this battle to where you're at right now
- 33:29Speaker 6: leading this team.
- 33:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I think there's just a lot more
- 33:32Speaker 5: comfortability and the connection with all the guys in the offense.
- 33:35Speaker 5: Being able to step up as a leader vocally and
- 33:38Speaker 5: get to know guys as well.
- 33:39Speaker 9: It's been a lot of.
- 33:40Speaker 5: Fun and and you know, I think more than anything
- 33:43Speaker 5: as a as an offensive group, you know, we made
- 33:45Speaker 5: some improvements and and we're excited to just play somebody
- 33:48Speaker 5: else for once. You know, you're going against the Saints
- 33:50Speaker 5: d every single time. You know, we know each other
- 33:51Speaker 5: and we were really fired up for today to just
- 33:54Speaker 5: go out there and focus on us and go out
- 33:56Speaker 5: there and.
- 33:57Speaker 6: Play Tyler against a really good defense. I mean, Jackson
- 34:00Speaker 6: Bill is one of the better ones obviously in the
- 34:01Speaker 6: National Football League. And I'm not gonna hide secret, y'all
- 34:03Speaker 6: had a lot of success today, So not only going
- 34:06Speaker 6: against a different defense, but to go against that caliber
- 34:08Speaker 6: defense and to kind of see the work that you've
- 34:10Speaker 6: been putting in. And you mentioned there's a lot of
- 34:11Speaker 6: new on this offense in a good way. Veteran players
- 34:13Speaker 6: and rookies. I'm sure today was really good for y'all
- 34:16Speaker 6: and the confidence moving forward.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that was that was our biggest goal
- 34:20Speaker 5: was was being able to go out there and just
- 34:22Speaker 5: focus on our plays and against a new team, we
- 34:24Speaker 5: don't know exactly what they're gonna run, and they don't
- 34:26Speaker 5: know what we're gonna run either. You know, I think
- 34:27Speaker 5: that's the the fun part. And now you're just playing football.
- 34:30Speaker 5: You know, it felt more game like today. You know,
- 34:32Speaker 5: we're getting eighty ninety plays out there in New Orleans
- 34:35Speaker 5: and August. We're battling, we're having fun, and I think
- 34:38Speaker 5: every single period we felt like we came out on
- 34:40Speaker 5: top and some good, some bad. Obviously, you though, they
- 34:42Speaker 5: were the number one rush defense last year, and you know,
- 34:44Speaker 5: it was really proud of the O line and trav and
- 34:47Speaker 5: Ak and Audrick stepping up today and they did a
- 34:49Speaker 5: really good job as well, so and all the guys.
- 34:51Speaker 5: So I think it's stuff to build on. And we're
- 34:53Speaker 5: going against you know, two more teams and the Rams
- 34:55Speaker 5: and Cowboys who are are really excellent on defense. So
- 34:59Speaker 5: uh not that we're gonna compare ourselves to others, and
- 35:01Speaker 5: you know, I think more than anything, we were gonna
- 35:03Speaker 5: keep improving, and we're not close to where we need
- 35:06Speaker 5: to be to accompish our goals, but we're a lot
- 35:09Speaker 5: brought farther from where we were last year. As far
- 35:10Speaker 5: as just chemistry and operation.
- 35:12Speaker 7: Yea, you reference your weapons, So let's spend a minute
- 35:15Speaker 7: on that. And you don't have to spend more than
- 35:18Speaker 7: a little bit of time in each get. But a
- 35:19Speaker 7: couple of the guys, I mean, a lot of was
- 35:21Speaker 7: fantastic today. And so if last year was his recovery year,
- 35:26Speaker 7: he's recovered a little bit on your receivers, maybe the
- 35:29Speaker 7: tight ends, and and I just think that you know
- 35:32Speaker 7: who they are now and they.
- 35:33Speaker 5: Know yeah, yeah, I mean, you know, a lot of
- 35:35Speaker 5: Vani's connection hasn't been hasn't been greater than it is
- 35:38Speaker 5: right now. Our communication level, you know, we're talking every
- 35:40Speaker 5: single day, texting each other, sending voice messages. Same with Vele,
- 35:44Speaker 5: same with you know, with with Jordan, And I'm still
- 35:47Speaker 5: still getting chemistry with Jordan's you know, Tyson, he's obviously
- 35:49Speaker 5: a young guy coming in and he's done a great
- 35:51Speaker 5: job though just stepping up to the bell. And but
- 35:54Speaker 5: I think more than anything is uh, there's a lot
- 35:56Speaker 5: more familiarity. You know, we know some of the players.
- 35:59Speaker 5: There's gonna be you know, nuanced, you know things throughout
- 36:02Speaker 5: the game, throughout you know, new challenges, but we can
- 36:05Speaker 5: lean back on those relationships that we've built this offseason.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Target.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I think that's the that's the fun part
- 36:11Speaker 5: is you can just trust it to him. You know,
- 36:13Speaker 5: he's he I don't think I rarely seen him drop
- 36:15Speaker 5: a ball, especially when it's contested, so you know, it's
- 36:19Speaker 5: not always gonna be perfect, but he's gonna go out
- 36:20Speaker 5: there and make a play. And then I also trust
- 36:22Speaker 5: a labe, you know, implicitly, you know he's gonna be
- 36:25Speaker 5: in the right spot and he's going to go out
- 36:26Speaker 5: there and make a play too. So I think it's
- 36:29Speaker 5: it's it's it's really exciting stuff. But also you know,
- 36:31Speaker 5: we're not we're not satisfied either, Tyler.
- 36:34Speaker 9: We've talked about this before.
- 36:35Speaker 6: But I find it so cool that you have integrated
- 36:38Speaker 6: yourself into this city, this city and you're finding that out.
- 36:41Speaker 9: You've already found it out.
- 36:42Speaker 6: If you give to it, it's going to give right
- 36:43Speaker 6: back to you tenfold.
- 36:45Speaker 2: Over.
- 36:46Speaker 9: What's the coolest thing that you've been able because dude.
- 36:48Speaker 6: You've you've been all around, like you've done some great
- 36:50Speaker 6: stuff here in New Orleans, in the area. What's the
- 36:53Speaker 6: coolest thing that you've done so far? Just kind of
- 36:55Speaker 6: out amongst the people here in New Orleans.
- 36:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I would say amongst the people. I think Marty
- 37:01Speaker 5: Grass was one of the funnest things I've ever done.
- 37:03Speaker 5: I mean, you're getting You're out there with all the guys.
- 37:06Speaker 5: You know, you're drinking, you're having a great time, and
- 37:08Speaker 5: you're really seeing New Orleans come together. But one of
- 37:10Speaker 5: my favorite moments was just going to the concert and
- 37:13Speaker 5: being amongst everybody at jazz Fest and just seeing the food,
- 37:16Speaker 5: like eating the food there. I mean, like it's just unbelievable.
- 37:20Speaker 5: How and then afterwards there's like a second line playing
- 37:22Speaker 5: everyone's outside. I'm like, what is going on? I was
- 37:25Speaker 5: like confused. I was like it's You're like a like, oh,
- 37:27Speaker 5: this is just what happens. So it makes you really
- 37:30Speaker 5: appreciate this place and and you feel you feel the
- 37:33Speaker 5: vibe in the city whenever the Saints do well or
- 37:35Speaker 5: or whether they don't, and it makes you want to
- 37:37Speaker 5: work that much harder.
- 37:38Speaker 9: I've told you this before. It's uniquely unique.
- 37:41Speaker 4: This city.
- 37:41Speaker 9: It's one of one.
- 37:42Speaker 5: It is it is, I mean, and and so are
- 37:45Speaker 5: the people too. I think that's why the best part
- 37:47Speaker 5: is nobody really wants leaves here. You know, you can
- 37:49Speaker 5: say whatever you want about it and the heat or whatever,
- 37:53Speaker 5: and and but it's like, man, this is it's pretty special.
- 37:55Speaker 5: So that's obviously this time of year, we're focus on
- 37:59Speaker 5: our jobs, but you know, we want to go out
- 38:00Speaker 5: there and and make the fans proud and do everything
- 38:03Speaker 5: that we can.
- 38:04Speaker 9: Not every team.
- 38:04Speaker 7: I was in at the Jets for a long time,
- 38:06Speaker 7: and I can make this statement. Dougie was with me
- 38:09Speaker 7: m hm, so we've been friends forever when he was
- 38:12Speaker 7: even an intern. So not every team has a home
- 38:15Speaker 7: field advantage, but you do. Yeah, you have a you
- 38:20Speaker 7: have a very unique place, a little bit of how
- 38:24Speaker 7: it feels playing at home. It doesn't it's not perfect.
- 38:27Speaker 7: It can never be like that. It's a great league,
- 38:29Speaker 7: but but but there is something different about playing here.
- 38:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I think there's there's a few places
- 38:34Speaker 5: in the NFL where you like, like you said that,
- 38:35Speaker 5: you there's a true home field advantage, there's a true
- 38:39Speaker 5: or whenever you step inside that that building and you know,
- 38:43Speaker 5: we feel a lot as players, it's always our goal
- 38:45Speaker 5: is to protect the dome no matter what. And and
- 38:47Speaker 5: like you said, there's gonna be great teams that come
- 38:49Speaker 5: in come in there, but it's you know, we're excited
- 38:52Speaker 5: to get back in there for first preseason one. And
- 38:54Speaker 5: you know it's not exactly you know, real football yet
- 38:57Speaker 5: as far as you know, getting rolling, but you know,
- 38:59Speaker 5: what a great opportunity for for us as a team
- 39:01Speaker 5: and some of the young guys as well.
- 39:03Speaker 6: Teller, you mentioned the running backs there and what they
- 39:06Speaker 6: did like in past protection today and that certainly jumped
- 39:08Speaker 6: off the page to me as well. But just talk
- 39:09Speaker 6: about that group in general. I mean, you've got two
- 39:12Speaker 6: guys A one A, A one B. You got a
- 39:14Speaker 6: two headed monstery like you could run some pony personnel A.
- 39:16Speaker 9: You can do a lot of different things.
- 39:18Speaker 6: Then you mentioned Odrick Estimate and what he did at
- 39:20Speaker 6: the end of last year.
- 39:21Speaker 9: I mean that was impressive.
- 39:22Speaker 6: That's a very solid group, and I like that A
- 39:25Speaker 6: K is just finding his role and just still continuing
- 39:27Speaker 6: to work as hard as ever.
- 39:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I mean what a loaded room. I mean,
- 39:31Speaker 5: it's it's a tough it's a you know, a tough
- 39:33Speaker 5: problem to have, but it's a great one, you know.
- 39:35Speaker 5: It's uh And I think all those guys have done
- 39:37Speaker 5: a really good job competing. Step it up and you got,
- 39:39Speaker 5: like you said, the those monsters leading the way. And
- 39:42Speaker 5: it's been fun. It's been fun just communicating with those
- 39:45Speaker 5: guys too, because we're right next to each other the
- 39:46Speaker 5: whole time. We're battling together. They're you know, they're battling
- 39:49Speaker 5: for me. I'm gonna go die out, you know, there
- 39:51Speaker 5: for them. And it's been fun so far. And I
- 39:54Speaker 5: think we're just we're just getting started.
- 39:56Speaker 6: Usually the last person you you say something too right
- 39:58Speaker 6: for the boss, snap, yeah, loved talking quarterback, and they
- 40:02Speaker 6: give you a little tip, a little reminder, a little something,
- 40:04Speaker 6: or hey, run this route because I want you to.
- 40:06Speaker 9: The coach yells at you. When you get to the sideline.
- 40:07Speaker 9: You say no, Chuck told me to run it, and
- 40:09Speaker 9: they're like, okay, good job.
- 40:10Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I mean we're talking. It's it's just us
- 40:13Speaker 5: back there.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Man.
- 40:13Speaker 5: Were got out there and and battle together. Whether it's
- 40:16Speaker 5: passpro I'm gonna give them the ball and.
- 40:19Speaker 4: You know, run around.
- 40:20Speaker 5: I trust those guys so much, so it's it's been
- 40:23Speaker 5: fun to be able to build and you know, we
- 40:24Speaker 5: got to keep going.
- 40:26Speaker 7: Last thing for me to you, it's it's how you
- 40:28Speaker 7: handle yourself, you know. And I know you're an older
- 40:31Speaker 7: rookie last year. I get all that, but but I
- 40:34Speaker 7: think COVID and a couple of reasons guys were in
- 40:38Speaker 7: school for six and seven years really helped them. And
- 40:42Speaker 7: and I can see it in you. And it's pretty
- 40:44Speaker 7: clear when you play, you handle yourself like you've been
- 40:46Speaker 7: around for a while. But just the way you're talking
- 40:48Speaker 7: to us, I mean a little bit on and reflecting
- 40:51Speaker 7: how you grew into this and you came to the
- 40:53Speaker 7: NFL at the perfect time.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean there's I just I've been able to
- 40:58Speaker 5: go through those bumps and bruises. I wasn't a good
- 41:01Speaker 5: leader in the past. I wasn't a good team. I
- 41:03Speaker 5: got injured multile times. I've been benched. You know, I've
- 41:05Speaker 5: been boot out of a stadium. I've been I'm MVP,
- 41:08Speaker 5: and I've been a champion and I just counted out
- 41:11Speaker 5: and you know, I couldn't walk at a certain point.
- 41:13Speaker 5: I got drafted and had a lot of expectations and
- 41:15Speaker 5: I wasn't a starter and then played good and you know,
- 41:18Speaker 5: training camp, and then it's just like, man, I don't
- 41:20Speaker 5: really it doesn't phaze me.
- 41:21Speaker 4: You know.
- 41:22Speaker 5: I love I love I love playing my teammates. I
- 41:24Speaker 5: love going out to eat and having fun with them.
- 41:27Speaker 5: I love practicing, you know, the game days, the kind
- 41:30Speaker 5: of the cherry on top of you know, it's you know,
- 41:32Speaker 5: I can't determine how my year is off seventeen days,
- 41:36Speaker 5: you know, whether we win or lose, and god, my god,
- 41:40Speaker 5: I want to win every one of them. But it's like, man,
- 41:41Speaker 5: I want to keep getting better every single year in
- 41:43Speaker 5: every game, and and I think that we've been able
- 41:45Speaker 5: to do that and just have fun because it's such
- 41:48Speaker 5: a such a strange business.
- 41:51Speaker 7: No.
- 41:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I'm I'm almost on the other side
- 41:54Speaker 5: of it, but no.
- 41:55Speaker 7: But it's it's impressive to listen to you talk.
- 41:59Speaker 6: But just just real quick, because you mentioned, like you know,
- 42:02Speaker 6: drafted here you're not start. But I think that was
- 42:05Speaker 6: a little bit by design too, Like you got a
- 42:07Speaker 6: chance to watch and see what it looks like. It
- 42:09Speaker 6: wasn't that you weren't talented enough or ready to start.
- 42:11Speaker 6: I think it was a plane and I think there
- 42:13Speaker 6: was a plan in place, and that plans played out
- 42:15Speaker 6: pretty well, and so like what you know, getting a
- 42:18Speaker 6: chance to see what it looks like before you get
- 42:20Speaker 6: thrown out there.
- 42:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, it's it's a lot to handle at first.
- 42:23Speaker 5: I mean, you're I'm you're playing with guys never played
- 42:26Speaker 5: before her rookie years. It's not like you have a
- 42:28Speaker 5: whole offseason. You know. It's it's a lot. And that's
- 42:31Speaker 5: why I'm you know, on a lot of these guys
- 42:33Speaker 5: that we drafted selling year and more than anything, just
- 42:36Speaker 5: focusing on you know, individual improvement and connecting with your
- 42:39Speaker 5: teammates and because it's a long season, and more than anything,
- 42:43Speaker 5: I was just really proud of us, you know, just
- 42:45Speaker 5: operating regardless of the record, and we want to kind
- 42:47Speaker 5: of up, you know, elevate our standard that way. But
- 42:51Speaker 5: you know, I'm just gonna go out there and and
- 42:53Speaker 5: try and do everything I can for our team now
- 42:55Speaker 5: stepping in this new role.
- 42:56Speaker 4: All right, All right, awesome stuff right there from Jacob
- 43:02Speaker 4: Pesterer last week in training camp with with your starting
- 43:05Speaker 4: quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, Tyler show Man. Looking
- 43:08Speaker 4: forward to a lot of great stuff, a lot of
- 43:09Speaker 4: great nuggets out of that, but I hear a confident kid.
- 43:11Speaker 4: I hear someone that has a lot of humility, a
- 43:15Speaker 4: lot of somebody that loves to be part of a
- 43:16Speaker 4: team and is looking forward to his second year. So
- 43:19Speaker 4: we are all excited about it. We are all excited.
- 43:21Speaker 4: What kind of jumps can he continue the momentum from
- 43:23Speaker 4: last season into this year. Got a lot more weapons
- 43:26Speaker 4: around him. So excited about it. And I think we
- 43:28Speaker 4: can all thank me for saving his life on the
- 43:30Speaker 4: golf course at one day. I didn't let him get
- 43:32Speaker 4: a bit by that snake, So y'all are welcome. Saved
- 43:35Speaker 4: his life, basically, can't prove that I didn't. All right,
