- 0:00Speaker 1: If you love that school broad you know that bread
- 0:03Speaker 1: Vaughn they love in the Scandinavian countries. The ludifis the
- 0:07Speaker 1: fiscal balls, because there's going to be a ten percent
- 0:09Speaker 1: tariff imposed on that.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Is this crazy? Yes?
- 0:14Speaker 3: It is?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Was it crazy?
- 0:16Speaker 1: That I was stuck in Hurricane Noel in Halifax in
- 0:21Speaker 1: November of two thousand and seven crash two thousand and
- 0:24Speaker 1: seven ordionizing Guardian Angels. A hurricane hits everybody is grounded.
- 0:32Speaker 1: At that time, Citadel owned WABC. They had just fired
- 0:37Speaker 1: Ron Koby. I was part of the morning show. They
- 0:39Speaker 1: kept me overnight syndicated. It got rid of Kooby and
- 0:43Speaker 1: they brought in an Imus who started the beginning of
- 0:46Speaker 1: the next year, two thousand and eight. This all happened
- 0:48Speaker 1: while it was in a Halifax So while I'm there,
- 0:51Speaker 1: there's nothing to do, you're getting hit by a hurricane.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'm getting these historians who are coming up to me
- 0:57Speaker 1: and saying, oh, you know, Curtis, you know it was
- 1:00Speaker 1: Eric the Red from Norway. Why did they call him
- 1:03Speaker 1: Eric de Red because he was dressed and ready, he
- 1:05Speaker 1: had all red hair. He got exiled from Norway because
- 1:10Speaker 1: he killed a bunch of guys. He got charged with manslaughter,
- 1:12Speaker 1: so they sent him to Iceland. They banned him from Norway.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Remember he was a Viking at that time, Norseman. Then
- 1:20Speaker 1: his son is Leif Ericson, and his son kills some
- 1:25Speaker 1: guys in Iceland and he gets banned from manslaughter.
- 1:29Speaker 2: So he's got to go west.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Not to find the east the Columbus did five hundred
- 1:34Speaker 1: years later, and he lands along with his daddy, ericd
- 1:38Speaker 1: Red in what we now know is Greenland.
- 1:41Speaker 2: That's how long ago. This is like a thousand after
- 1:45Speaker 2: the death of Christ.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And then he gets into a fight with his father,
- 1:51Speaker 1: Eric the Red, who believes in Odin, the Norse god,
- 1:56Speaker 1: and leif Erickson has become a Christian. So they part
- 1:59Speaker 1: company and leif Erickson continues that voyage going west. And
- 2:03Speaker 1: what does he land in Newfoundland? You know, not far
- 2:06Speaker 1: from Prince Edward Island, Halifax, where I was. So I
- 2:09Speaker 1: learned this whole history, and they showed where his encampment
- 2:13Speaker 1: was on a map. And you know, every year if
- 2:18Speaker 1: you go to bay Ridge, I'm in bay Ridge constantly.
- 2:20Speaker 1: They have the Norwegian Day Parade. It's May seventeenth. My
- 2:24Speaker 1: dad used to call them squareheads. Because he said the
- 2:26Speaker 1: Norwegians were the best seaman ever and my dad was
- 2:29Speaker 1: a merchant, seeming close to fifty years so they called
- 2:31Speaker 1: them squareheads because they would have always squared the map.
- 2:34Speaker 1: And they lived in Sunset Park in Bay Ridge. And
- 2:37Speaker 1: that parade ends at leif Ericson Park at sixty seventh
- 2:40Speaker 1: and third. So that's a little bit of the history
- 2:44Speaker 1: of how Denmark is involved in this and Scandinavian countries
- 2:52Speaker 1: and Iceland and Greenland and not the United States, which
- 2:58Speaker 1: has access to Greenland to do almost whatever we want
- 3:01Speaker 1: with our ally who's been there, suit sick and ten
- 3:05Speaker 1: for us and number is one eight hundred three to
- 3:09Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten. Let's quickly go to Bob,
- 3:13Speaker 1: who I believe is calling from Connecticut. Your turn to
- 3:16Speaker 1: be heard here at seven ten wo or Bob.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Jake Curtis, thanks for taking my call. I think you
- 3:23Speaker 3: should be the mayor of New York.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Let me ask you a question before before you patronize
- 3:27Speaker 1: me about you should be the mayor of New York.
- 3:29Speaker 1: You you said, thank you for taking my call. I
- 3:33Speaker 1: have just spent like forty minutes giving the number out.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I should be thanking you for calling up not. Oh
- 3:42Speaker 1: I know, Bob in Connecticut here, I'm gonna take your
- 3:45Speaker 1: call first. Okay, let's let's square that away.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Okay, you're right, Okay, accept your thanks, You're welcome.
- 3:52Speaker 4: I just want to say this is just one man's opinion, like,
- 3:56Speaker 4: why shouldn't we have Greenland. It's a gigantic track of
- 4:00Speaker 4: basically barren land, and there's like ice and rocks, it's nothing.
- 4:06Speaker 4: There's only fifty thousand people there. We could make much
- 4:09Speaker 4: better use of it than Denmark.
- 4:11Speaker 3: What does Denmark want with it?
- 4:13Speaker 4: Oh?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yes, Well do we apply that to every land mass
- 4:18Speaker 1: in the world. You know, there are special minerals deep
- 4:22Speaker 1: underneath the tundra of Greenland that are worth billions and
- 4:26Speaker 1: billions of dollars. Just like that oil in Venezuela. You know,
- 4:30Speaker 1: we went in, we took to the oil. We're now
- 4:31Speaker 1: banking the money from the sale of the oil in
- 4:35Speaker 1: the six oil tankers that we've seized in Katar. Does
- 4:38Speaker 1: that bother you that we're banking it in Katar and
- 4:41Speaker 1: not any contry, not in a bank in the United States.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Bob, do you question that?
- 4:47Speaker 3: I have no idea. Oh yeah, that sounds weird to me.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Okay, well, don't you think that all of us as
- 4:54Speaker 1: citizens will pay our taxes? Many of us who vote,
- 4:58Speaker 1: we have a right to be heard and say, wait,
- 5:00Speaker 1: wait about a second. Was seizing all the oil in Venezuela.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I get it.
- 5:05Speaker 1: We're gonna help Venezuela down the line. But in the meantime,
- 5:09Speaker 1: whatever money comes in from the sale of the oil
- 5:11Speaker 1: or the six oil tankers that we've seized, we're gonna
- 5:15Speaker 1: put in a bank in Qatar.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Yeah, that's weird, making.
- 5:21Speaker 2: All right, all right, tariff tariffs ridiculous.
- 5:25Speaker 3: They get a better interest rate on the money.
- 5:26Speaker 1: If yeah, it's called money laundering. Well, okay, okay, you
- 5:33Speaker 1: accept that.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I don't know, you know, I asked questions.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Oh my god, doesn't make sense.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Why Qatar? Why not in the United States? How many
- 5:47Speaker 1: banks do we have here? But you see, you can't
- 5:51Speaker 1: keep track of money in Qatar or a Dubai, a Switzerland,
- 5:54Speaker 1: and a Panama or the Cayman Islands. That's where you
- 5:58Speaker 1: go to lawndo money. I'm not suggesting we're laundering money,
- 6:02Speaker 1: but why Qatar? Inquiring minds want to know. Let's go
- 6:10Speaker 1: to Danny, who's calling from Long Island. Your turn to
- 6:14Speaker 1: be heard here at seven to ten wor Danny.
- 6:17Speaker 5: Well time, Curtis fans this. We first laid eyes on
- 6:19Speaker 5: each other. I was walking a beaten Times Square in
- 6:21Speaker 5: nineteen eighty six. You were in the back of my
- 6:24Speaker 5: brother's street crime cab, looking happy. Good times. Curtis is good.
- 6:28Speaker 5: We're getting old. Well, listen, this is pure Trump. One
- 6:32Speaker 5: of his biggest pet peeves is NATO. Well, who's sending
- 6:35Speaker 5: troops to Greenland? Now, Canada, Finland, the French they're gonna
- 6:39Speaker 5: end up defending You don't need you don't need a
- 6:41Speaker 5: fe hundred thousand troops on NATO to defend it. You
- 6:44Speaker 5: need one little base with some soldiers, put a little
- 6:47Speaker 5: port there that the American ships can come land, and
- 6:49Speaker 5: guess what, Now it's defended because you can't. You can't.
- 6:52Speaker 5: You can't annex any country, whether it's China or the
- 6:56Speaker 5: United States, if there's troops from another country sitting there,
- 6:59Speaker 5: like just like Tye, they're not aving Taiwan because of the
- 7:01Speaker 5: American soldiers there, not enough to defend the place, but
- 7:04Speaker 5: it would be an international scene. So this is pure Trump.
- 7:06Speaker 5: He's getting these Europeans. They don't want to do a
- 7:09Speaker 5: damn thing. He's got them all rallied against Trump, and
- 7:12Speaker 5: now what are they doing? Exactly what he wants them
- 7:15Speaker 5: to do, defend Greenland, not from Russia but from China.
- 7:19Speaker 5: They're all over there with their basis, just like we
- 7:21Speaker 5: saw purchasing Alaska was as steward ice box.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Hold on, you gotta ask you a question here, Danny.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Go ahead, Curtis.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm always this is all a pre plan Trump in
- 7:33Speaker 1: the White House like, yeah, let's go them into sending
- 7:37Speaker 1: troops into Greenland.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I don't know the stent.
- 7:40Speaker 1: We already have a base in Greenland. We've had bases
- 7:43Speaker 1: there before. We have an open invitation to set up
- 7:47Speaker 1: bases wherever we want. You don't think this is about
- 7:50Speaker 1: the mineral deposits underneath the Ca tundra that is now
- 7:53Speaker 1: surfacing as the ice and the glaciers are melting, Curtis.
- 7:58Speaker 5: Everything is about minerals and oil and everything, and this
- 8:02Speaker 5: is just one place that the Chinese would like to have.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I'm sure, I'm sure.
- 8:07Speaker 1: But that's a totalitarian regime as is putin in Russia.
- 8:12Speaker 1: So now, even though we're supposed to have checks and balances,
- 8:15Speaker 1: he in the United States. Remember the Constitution, the Bill
- 8:17Speaker 1: of Wrights. Remember James Madison who said you have to
- 8:20Speaker 1: have checks and balances. We basically trust the president's moral
- 8:24Speaker 1: compass because they said, well, who keeps you in check?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Missed the president? He said, my moral compass.
- 8:31Speaker 5: He is not invading Greenland, can you? Is not gonna
- 8:35Speaker 5: be a military coup deta by the army or the
- 8:38Speaker 5: navy or the seal teams. I just paid two dollars
- 8:41Speaker 5: and forty nine cents for gas, and Trump by trust
- 8:45Speaker 5: the Fed. The Atlanta Chief of Fed just raised the
- 8:47Speaker 5: GPS has the midst of four point five for next year.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Everything he's done has come up roses so far. The
- 8:54Speaker 5: border is locked down. I'm gonna believe that there's a
- 8:57Speaker 5: plan in place for Greenland. And he knows exactly what
- 8:59Speaker 5: he oh.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Man, drink the kool aid drink the kool aid. Oh
- 9:06Speaker 1: gas is down, So whatever Trump does is okay by me.
- 9:11Speaker 1: He would never invade Greenland.
- 9:13Speaker 2: He just says this to force others to take care
- 9:18Speaker 2: of their responsibility.
- 9:20Speaker 1: This is the same guy, our president, who blamed the
- 9:23Speaker 1: Ukraine for starting the war with Russia.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Remember, oh, well, Russian invade Ukraine. No, no, no, that
- 9:29Speaker 2: was Ukraine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, what do we want in
- 9:32Speaker 2: the Ukraine? Oh? The valuable minerals? So is that what
- 9:37Speaker 2: this is?
- 9:39Speaker 1: Whatever we want in the world, we take even if
- 9:42Speaker 1: it ain't us, by threats, by intimidation, and then we
- 9:47Speaker 1: trust whoever is the president to be omnipotent, all knowing,
- 9:52Speaker 1: all trusting, and we don't have checks and balances. I
- 9:55Speaker 1: hope the United States Supreme Court does the right thing
- 9:57Speaker 1: on these tariffs tarffs. Really, so if I disagree with
- 10:04Speaker 1: the United States, we impose tariffs on you like they
- 10:08Speaker 1: did in Brazil.
- 10:11Speaker 2: How did that work out?
- 10:12Speaker 5: Right?
- 10:12Speaker 1: Oh, you're not going to tell us what to do
- 10:14Speaker 1: with our former president who tried to read the election Balsonario. No, no, oh,
- 10:19Speaker 1: fifty percent tariff the president Trump put on Lula, and
- 10:23Speaker 1: Lula said, okay, no, problem didn't work.
- 10:28Speaker 2: I realize a lot of you.
- 10:30Speaker 1: You like cheap energy, you like cheap gas. You believe
- 10:34Speaker 1: everything that Trump does. Maybe you'll think that he's going
- 10:36Speaker 1: to walk on water, you know, between Halifax, Greenland, Greenland
- 10:43Speaker 1: to Iceland, Iceland to Denmark, Denmark to Norway. And but
- 10:48Speaker 1: you're not going to challenge or question at Already you
- 10:52Speaker 1: like sheep. You need a sheep herder. And for so
- 10:57Speaker 1: many of you, whoever's in power, that's your she part,
- 11:00Speaker 1: it not me. One eight hundred and three two one zero.
- 11:04Speaker 1: From here we go to Minneapolis with there are a
- 11:06Speaker 1: lot of former Scandinavians who settled there many many decades ago,
- 11:13Speaker 1: and I'll give you my input on Ice versus Minneapolis
- 11:18Speaker 1: and what the answer is. You don't want to go
- 11:20Speaker 1: anywhere on this. It should be a new listening station
- 11:24Speaker 1: seven to ten WR
