- 0:00Speaker 1: The Trump Economic Miracle will explain everything to you. It's
- 0:03Speaker 1: a great book. I get it at Amazon. Also, he
- 0:06Speaker 1: runs the Committee to Unleash Prosperity and every day they
- 0:09Speaker 1: put out the best daily news and analysis, wonderful stuff.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's free. Come write your email, sign up, just go
- 0:16Speaker 1: to Unleash Prosperity dot com. Steve Moore, how you doing.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Oh, Mark, I'm doing well. By the way, I knew,
- 0:23Speaker 2: I know who the next Democratic nominee for president is
- 0:26Speaker 2: going to be.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Uh oh, who Karl Marx? Oh? What the hell? These
- 0:33Speaker 1: primaries this week?
- 0:35Speaker 2: It's crazy social I'm gonna let it. I was joking,
- 0:39Speaker 2: but let me make a serious point. I actually, I
- 0:41Speaker 2: actually do believe. You know who I actually and this
- 0:43Speaker 2: is a serious point. Do you know who I think
- 0:46Speaker 2: is going to be the real Democratic nominee for president
- 0:49Speaker 2: in twenty twenty eight? Uh? Oh?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Who AOC?
- 0:53Speaker 2: What I really do? I think? That's how crazy that
- 0:58Speaker 2: party has become. And it's sad me. I hope I'm
- 1:00Speaker 2: wrong about this, but I don't know. It's just it's
- 1:03Speaker 2: really look at all the quote quote democratic socialists that
- 1:07Speaker 2: are being elected all over the country. It's it's the
- 1:11Speaker 2: movement of the party right now. It's where all the
- 1:13Speaker 2: energy is.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, but she may not be able to do because
- 1:16Speaker 1: the problem is, when you get the nomination, you have
- 1:19Speaker 1: to find somebody to be vice president that's dumber than you.
- 1:21Speaker 1: How is she going to do that?
- 1:25Speaker 2: Well, there's always Berney Sanders.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Oh that brings back that that Tim Waltz, that could work.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, look, we joke about this, but it
- 1:34Speaker 2: is serious. I mean, as you know, I'm from Chicago.
- 1:37Speaker 2: We have a socialist as mayor. Los Angeles has a
- 1:41Speaker 2: runoff for their mayor. It's Tweedledee or tweedled dum pick
- 1:44Speaker 2: the socialist. And then you've got New York City, You've
- 1:46Speaker 2: got Seattle, You've got Minneapolis. It's really a dangerous situation.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And it's sad. I mean, where are the rational Democrats?
- 1:55Speaker 2: And you know there are millions of them, Why aren't
- 1:57Speaker 2: they speaking out and saying, boy, are already has been
- 2:00Speaker 2: hijacked by crazy people. I mean I was listening to
- 2:03Speaker 2: some of those people won the elections last Tuesday night,
- 2:07Speaker 2: and many of them were educated at Columbia, their college
- 2:10Speaker 2: graduates from Ivy League schools that are spouting off this
- 2:14Speaker 2: economic nonsense.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but for a couple of decades, those places like
- 2:17Speaker 1: Columbia have been in doctrination centers exactly.
- 2:21Speaker 2: So we're paying a high price, aren't we.
- 2:24Speaker 1: You know some of them. I hear their laundry list
- 2:26Speaker 1: of things they want to do, and I've heard them
- 2:28Speaker 1: say decommodify housing. That's a term right out of Marx.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It's right out of his playbook.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I don't even know what that means.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Oh, it means you take the value out of something.
- 2:40Speaker 1: But that's a term right out of Marx's books, decommodify.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Well, well, I'll tell you something else that was funny.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I mean if you probably may have seen our hotline
- 2:49Speaker 2: yet this morning because it just came out. But there
- 2:51Speaker 2: is a headline from it. I think it's political or
- 2:54Speaker 2: one of the political magazines, and it says, you know,
- 2:56Speaker 2: New York officials are mystified by why there's a big
- 3:00Speaker 2: decline in people paying their rents. Why is this some
- 3:03Speaker 2: kind of mystery? Maybe when you tell people you don't
- 3:06Speaker 2: have to pay your rent, guess what they don't pay theirs?
- 3:10Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:10Speaker 1: But when you see there Democrats what they want to
- 3:12Speaker 1: do about housing, even that build up, the President delayed
- 3:16Speaker 1: the housing bill. It's it's it's going to be totally ineffective.
- 3:19Speaker 1: All those bills, with the regulations and all that stuff. Yeah,
- 3:22Speaker 1: it just increases the cost of housing and decreases the supply,
- 3:26Speaker 1: doesn't it.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not. I mean I think that the if
- 3:29Speaker 2: I were in the Senate, I would probably vote against
- 3:31Speaker 2: that housing bill. I don't think it's going to solve
- 3:33Speaker 2: the problem. I mean, there are a few good things
- 3:34Speaker 2: in there. They want to deregulate some of the housing
- 3:37Speaker 2: issues so to help reduce the cost of housing. But
- 3:40Speaker 2: you know, most of the housing problems, the shortage of
- 3:43Speaker 2: housing is due to local and state zoning requirements and
- 3:47Speaker 2: regulations that restrict the building of housing and also you know,
- 3:53Speaker 2: force union rules that make it so expensive to build housing.
- 3:56Speaker 2: So I don't think this bill does much to solve
- 4:00Speaker 2: that problem. And they create all these new federal affordability
- 4:04Speaker 2: housing programs. It's like, no, the federal government isn't going
- 4:06Speaker 2: to make housing more affordable. But you know, the one
- 4:10Speaker 2: thing they could do something that's gaining up, you know
- 4:13Speaker 2: some momentum as an idea that Larry Cutlow and I
- 4:17Speaker 2: and Ted Cruz have been talking about is let people
- 4:22Speaker 2: sell their homes and then index the gain you know
- 4:26Speaker 2: you make from the sale of your home for inflation,
- 4:29Speaker 2: because if you bought your house in the mid eighties
- 4:31Speaker 2: or early nineties, think about how much it's so much
- 4:34Speaker 2: of the gain is the quote gain in the valuation
- 4:37Speaker 2: is just due to inflation, and you have to pay
- 4:39Speaker 2: them whopping tax on that. It's not fair.
- 4:41Speaker 1: It's not fair. But you're going to tell a Democrat
- 4:43Speaker 1: not to collect a whopping tax. They love whopping taxes.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Well, except the point is that you know, because because
- 4:51Speaker 2: the tax is so high, and because most of this
- 4:54Speaker 2: is due inflation. People, you know how people avoid to pay,
- 4:57Speaker 2: you know, old people like me, to avoid paying the tax,
- 4:59Speaker 2: you die with your house and then you get a
- 5:01Speaker 2: free step up a basis at death. And so it's
- 5:04Speaker 2: just a stupid system. We should we should have more
- 5:06Speaker 2: fluidity in the in the housing market. And by the way,
- 5:10Speaker 2: I'm on the board of a company I think I've
- 5:12Speaker 2: mentioned this to you before, Mark, where we build houses
- 5:15Speaker 2: with robots. So we're going to be able to really
- 5:17Speaker 2: reduce the cost of building new homes in this country
- 5:21Speaker 2: as part of that evil AI robotics revolution that's coming.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Oh wait a minute, you mean the robot like it
- 5:26Speaker 1: puts up the sheet rock. The robot does the hammering, and.
- 5:30Speaker 2: It's it's amazing. Yeah, I mean they do sixty to
- 5:33Speaker 2: sixty five percent of the construction can be done by robots.
- 5:36Speaker 2: You should get. If people want to find out more,
- 5:38Speaker 2: just go to unleash I mean, I'm sorry, go to
- 5:40Speaker 2: lightspeed dot com and you can. You can watch the robots.
- 5:43Speaker 2: You can see what they do, and they're getting better
- 5:46Speaker 2: and better and better, you know, and they don't take
- 5:48Speaker 2: coffee breaks.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Well yeah, but they'll be like real contractors. You know,
- 5:51Speaker 1: the robot doesn't show up two days this week exactly. Wow. Hey,
- 5:59Speaker 1: tell us about socials curity. Our listener asked about this yesterday.
- 6:02Speaker 1: How the Social Security program ten years from now is
- 6:06Speaker 1: the money going to be there?
- 6:07Speaker 2: You know, the system is going broke. I think that everyone,
- 6:10Speaker 2: every sane person knows that they've run it as a
- 6:14Speaker 2: Conzli scheme. And what they've done, you know what Congress
- 6:16Speaker 2: has done for thirty years now, Mark, is they basically
- 6:19Speaker 2: have taken the sol security money that you and I
- 6:22Speaker 2: and everybody listening to the show is paid in, you know,
- 6:24Speaker 2: through our payroll tax, and they've spended all these other
- 6:27Speaker 2: government programs, foreign aid, food stamps, you know, blah blah blah,
- 6:32Speaker 2: the State Department and so. But if you and I
- 6:35Speaker 2: were the CEOs of a company and we raided the
- 6:38Speaker 2: pension fund to spend on other programs, they would put
- 6:42Speaker 2: us in jail. But Congress does it with impunity.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Hey, I'm looking at the price of oil, seventy dollars
- 6:50Speaker 1: a barrel. It's almost pretty much down to pre war levels.
- 6:54Speaker 1: What will that be?
- 6:54Speaker 2: Amazing? Yeah, And so inflation is coming down pretty quickly too.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I mean what's called the you know, the inflation adjusted Uh,
- 7:05Speaker 2: if you want to buy what they call tips spread,
- 7:07Speaker 2: where you've get inflation based uh, you know, protection from inflation.
- 7:11Speaker 2: That's running at two point two percent right now. So inflation,
- 7:15Speaker 2: the market belize inflation is coming down. And you know why.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I think it's because we have a great FED chairman
- 7:20Speaker 2: in Kevin Warsh And I laughed out loud when I
- 7:23Speaker 2: saw one of the one of the major banks economists
- 7:25Speaker 2: that we think there's going to be three rate increases
- 7:28Speaker 2: in interest rate increases before the end of the year. Ridiculous.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Why would they be raising rates when the inflation rate
- 7:34Speaker 2: is coming down? Mark? That makes no sense.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Well, uh, Steve Mortees and what the robots that can
- 7:40Speaker 1: build houses? Where did people go to see that?
- 7:42Speaker 2: It's called lightspeed dot com and just go look at it,
- 7:44Speaker 2: and you know, it's amazing that the videos are incredible.
- 7:48Speaker 2: And as I said, you know, they get better all
- 7:50Speaker 2: the time. So the technology continues to improve. We can
- 7:53Speaker 2: build a house at you know, almost half the cost,
- 7:56Speaker 2: and that means we can we can make housing more affordable.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Wow. And Major car company announced they've replaced one hundred
- 8:04Speaker 1: workers now with robots. And so we are going to
- 8:07Speaker 1: have an unemployment crisis coming at some point, aren't we.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I don't think so, because we have you know, we
- 8:12Speaker 2: actually have a declining number of workers because you know,
- 8:15Speaker 2: the baby boomer is over, you know baby boomers like, well,
- 8:18Speaker 2: you're not a boomer, are you? Well, well, you're I'm
- 8:20Speaker 2: a boomer. I think you're way too too young to
- 8:22Speaker 2: be a boomer. But baby, we're all retiring. There's eighty
- 8:24Speaker 2: million of us. And then you've got the you know,
- 8:27Speaker 2: if you were I think there's something like eleven thousand
- 8:30Speaker 2: Americans retiring every day, but only eight thousand Americans entering
- 8:33Speaker 2: the work force. So we're going to need the robots.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, you know, you're right, because the newer general, young,
- 8:38Speaker 1: really young generation, they're never going to work. They just
- 8:41Speaker 1: want to be living under socialism.
- 8:44Speaker 2: They want all the three things.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yeah, they're not.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Going to work.
- 8:46Speaker 1: So well. Steve Moore, great stuff. Everybody, get his book.
