- 0:51Speaker 3: Guys from the Monsters this morning. How you doing fantastic?
- 0:54Speaker 4: How are y'all? A little letsa goes along.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I was going to say, you can do a couple
- 0:59Speaker 2: of laps around the city.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Oh, there you go. You were not kidding. Some coffee
- 1:03Speaker 3: is better than any energy drink anything. The smaller the cup,
- 1:07Speaker 3: the more power I had.
- 1:08Speaker 4: To go with the iced one, but there's a I
- 1:10Speaker 4: agree with you if you do a little like little
- 1:12Speaker 4: shot glasses of yes, oh yeah, shout out to Taos
- 1:15Speaker 4: in off of Ronald Reagan amazing liquid cocaine.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Yes, it is absolutely, absolutely it is so thank you, Angel.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Don't blame me for doing the ice drink today. It
- 1:23Speaker 3: is the hear it is.
- 1:26Speaker 2: It is another record breaking day today. Uh So, like
- 1:30Speaker 2: I said, we've got Jim will be back with us tomorrow.
- 1:33Speaker 3: It looks like a giant. But sitting next to me, yeah,
- 1:37Speaker 3: I know, I.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Didn't do anything.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Not a regular chair. All you doing.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I'm just sitting here.
- 1:42Speaker 3: But I guess I'm so. You see looking at at Jimmy,
- 1:45Speaker 3: you just you are.
- 1:46Speaker 4: I'm literally just sitting here.
- 1:47Speaker 3: You are a large larger You're a larger in charge dude. Angel.
- 1:55Speaker 2: But as I was saying, though, make sure you keep
- 1:57Speaker 2: it on the Jim Culbert Show throughout the day today
- 1:58Speaker 2: because we've got our usual going to have an animal house.
- 2:01Speaker 2: In the four o'clock hour, we're going to talk to
- 2:02Speaker 2: Scott Maxwell. You may want to join in on that
- 2:04Speaker 2: conversation because we're going to talk about how crappy it
- 2:07Speaker 2: is to drive on the roads in Central Florida. Brad
- 2:10Speaker 2: has some trivia for us today. Thank you so much.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Brad.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Ross Paget is going to be calling in in the
- 2:15Speaker 2: six o'clock hour to let us know what to expect
- 2:18Speaker 2: on tonight's episode of Good Sauce with Ross and Joel.
- 2:20Speaker 2: But first, we do have some breaking news. And I know,
- 2:23Speaker 2: Angel of Boom, you are the sports master for the Monsters,
- 2:27Speaker 2: and of course this is a breaking story concerning I believe.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Not only that, but I believe award winning sports.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Yes, the readers of the Orlando Weekly. I'm best sports
- 2:39Speaker 4: broadcaster in Orlando. I've won that thing like four times.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Who's flexing and there's guys across the hall over there
- 2:49Speaker 4: so agitated with me, So.
- 2:52Speaker 2: They're agitated with us, dude, all right, Yeah, when Brandon
- 2:55Speaker 2: Kravitz heard that his producer had a better intro than
- 2:58Speaker 2: Brandon Kravitz, who's been doing sports with us for a.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Few years, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I love Kravitz though, Yeah we did too. He's a
- 3:04Speaker 2: great guy. But real quick, Yes, Mark Marco, he's been
- 3:07Speaker 2: trouble for years. You want to avoid him and the
- 3:09Speaker 2: mic win too, But listen, this is big news for
- 3:13Speaker 2: Orlando City. Fans, if you have not heard the news,
- 3:16Speaker 2: I mean I know when I told you after Jack
- 3:18Speaker 2: wrote the news to me, you were like, no way,
- 3:20Speaker 2: I can't believe it. So what do you have to
- 3:23Speaker 2: tell for Orlando City?
- 3:25Speaker 4: Coming from Orlando City reading it straight from their press release,
- 3:28Speaker 4: Orlando City sc and head coach Oscar Parea have mutually
- 3:31Speaker 4: agreed to part ways effective immediately. Assistant coach Mark Martin
- 3:37Speaker 4: Pearlman has been appointed interim head coach following Perea's departure.
- 3:42Speaker 2: That is incredible what he's like. You guys are huge
- 3:46Speaker 2: Orlando City soccer fans. I'm not as in tune with
- 3:48Speaker 2: the club, but what would you think would lead to this?
- 3:50Speaker 2: Because he was just made He was head coach in
- 3:52Speaker 2: twenty nineteen.
- 3:53Speaker 5: He has been the longest tenured head coach of Orlando City,
- 3:58Speaker 5: the most successful head coach for Orlando City. We that's
- 4:03Speaker 5: when they won the Cup, the lamar Mont Hunt Cup.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Which was very careful with that amazing.
- 4:09Speaker 5: He is the first coach to take them to the
- 4:11Speaker 5: playoffs multiple times.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Had a soft start.
- 4:15Speaker 5: It's not uncommon to have a soft start, but I
- 4:19Speaker 5: think Angel can say the what happened in the past
- 4:23Speaker 5: game the second half of.
- 4:26Speaker 3: The Miami game and.
- 4:29Speaker 5: The New York So what was that nine goals in
- 4:31Speaker 5: ninety minutes that second half versus No.
- 4:34Speaker 6: No.
- 4:34Speaker 5: One hundred and forty five, one hundred and thirty five
- 4:37Speaker 5: minutes in the game and a half, they had nine
- 4:40Speaker 5: goals scored against them.
- 4:41Speaker 4: And there's a lot of things that can be covered
- 4:43Speaker 4: or you know, you know, technique or scheme or whatever.
- 4:49Speaker 4: What people are not going to give a coach a
- 4:52Speaker 4: break on. And they've been woofing for a minute. The
- 4:54Speaker 4: fans half about making a change here, and when a
- 4:58Speaker 4: team seems unprepared. What happened versus Inner Miami that second period.
- 5:03Speaker 4: They got their souls taken from.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Them, which was such a disappointment because we've been we've
- 5:07Speaker 2: been waiting for Messi to come here.
- 5:09Speaker 4: He came here and he's soul snatching, so talking trash,
- 5:13Speaker 4: and it bummed me out. I was so I was.
- 5:17Speaker 4: It was so dejected. The amounted like he was, you know,
- 5:20Speaker 4: taunting the fans and offering it to autographs for the
- 5:23Speaker 4: players and everything. It was, oh yeah, it was really
- 5:27Speaker 4: really bad. And then you go to New York and
- 5:29Speaker 4: you drop an egg of getting smoked five nil. Oh
- 5:32Speaker 4: that that's hard to come back from, especially, like I said,
- 5:36Speaker 4: where they you know, their fan base and certain people
- 5:39Speaker 4: have been woolfing for a minute for a change. Hands
- 5:42Speaker 4: not happy with the strategy, fans not happy with the
- 5:45Speaker 4: lack of players that we didn't acquire for this season.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Things like that are going to put you in a
- 5:50Speaker 4: tough spot. And if it appears that your team isn't prepared.
- 5:53Speaker 3: It's even worse it is.
- 5:54Speaker 5: But you know what, and some of those player personal
- 5:57Speaker 5: that's not on that's not a head coach. I mean,
- 6:00Speaker 5: they have a GM who handles that, you know, acquiring players.
- 6:04Speaker 4: And that's the tough spot though, because like if your
- 6:07Speaker 4: GM and ownership are kind of connected, the person's head
- 6:12Speaker 4: on the block is the head coach?
- 6:13Speaker 3: Yes, And do you mean like the Orlando Magic.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I've always felt like if the front office would just
- 6:21Speaker 2: get out of the way, if you would just stay
- 6:22Speaker 2: the front office, all that.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Effort, and we're exactly the same place we were exactly.
- 6:26Speaker 2: So this isn't like Tomlinson, right, this isn't like, you know,
- 6:29Speaker 2: you don't have the season you want, and so a
- 6:31Speaker 2: lot of fans will start calling for the coaches head
- 6:33Speaker 2: In this case, some really important matches Orlando didn't.
- 6:38Speaker 4: It just sounds in my personal opinion, I think it's
- 6:40Speaker 4: just it looked unprepared, We looked unprofessional that second half
- 6:45Speaker 4: of versus interer.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Miami's you want to give you and so, but well,
- 6:50Speaker 2: here's the deal.
- 6:51Speaker 5: How much is it being unprepared and how much is
- 6:54Speaker 5: it the greatest soccer player who ever played the game?
- 6:57Speaker 3: That guy Joshuk Wait, awesome, Angel, but you can come
- 7:02Speaker 3: back anytime because Ross who will talk to Ross at six?
- 7:05Speaker 5: And you can't even chime in on this was on
- 7:07Speaker 5: the sideline, you know, watching, Yes, I mean pretty close
- 7:11Speaker 5: and say it looks like, you know, MESSI that first
- 7:13Speaker 5: half was against Orlando City, just kind of going to school, right,
- 7:17Speaker 5: It's just okay, he's taking notes, taking notes exactly. Yeah,
- 7:20Speaker 5: and then and then second half he's like, all right,
- 7:22Speaker 5: just give me the ball, you know, and I'll take
- 7:24Speaker 5: over this game.
- 7:25Speaker 3: And he did.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 2: And despite all that success, right, those last two games,
- 7:30Speaker 2: despite everything Oscar Prereta has been able to do for
- 7:33Speaker 2: the city.
- 7:34Speaker 4: The lack of the lack of success that we've had
- 7:36Speaker 4: in the playoffs, right, all right, that's a huge part
- 7:38Speaker 4: of it. Yeah, and you know, the a few years running,
- 7:41Speaker 4: lack of success in the playoffs and then starting this
- 7:44Speaker 4: way just unfortunately, like he's going to coach again. Somebody's
- 7:48Speaker 4: he's a fantastic coach, awesome person that I love listening
- 7:52Speaker 4: to him talk his post games and stuff like that,
- 7:54Speaker 4: great human being, and seems so he'll get another job.
- 7:58Speaker 4: I don't know if MLS or maybe back in.
- 8:00Speaker 7: Columbia Median but but yeah, it'll be interesting to see.
- 8:16Speaker 4: This is one of my things that is always tough,
- 8:18Speaker 4: whether it's in any sport. It's hard to when you
- 8:22Speaker 4: do a coaching change in the middle, like say in
- 8:25Speaker 4: the NBA in the middle of the season and MLS,
- 8:28Speaker 4: if you do it here, like how effective you can
- 8:31Speaker 4: make change. You know, it's not that often in MLS
- 8:35Speaker 4: or NBA or NFL where you do MLS maybe there's
- 8:39Speaker 4: been more success there. But where you do a coaching
- 8:41Speaker 4: change at the start of the season and you're able
- 8:43Speaker 4: to kind of correct the ship, especially with our team,
- 8:46Speaker 4: where again there's personnel questions that have not been answered.
- 8:50Speaker 5: What sport out of the let's call it the five majors,
- 8:53Speaker 5: do you think the head coach plays the most integral role,
- 8:57Speaker 5: whereas a head coaching change will have the biggest effect
- 9:01Speaker 5: on the team's play football, soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey.
- 9:09Speaker 4: See, I think football coaches, it takes time because you're
- 9:13Speaker 4: you're implementing a whole new system.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I know, but that system comes from the coach
- 9:20Speaker 5: and it does I guess in all the games I
- 9:23Speaker 5: think least maybe basketball, base baseball, maybe.
- 9:28Speaker 4: I think baseball unless you're a team USA and the
- 9:30Speaker 4: World Baseball Classic.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Why do you have to bring that up? Dude, that's
- 9:35Speaker 3: just done. Cool. I take back the earlier invitation that
- 9:41Speaker 3: guy and then you ruined it bring up the World
- 9:43Speaker 3: Baseball Class? Is that coach? That guy?
- 9:47Speaker 4: What was he thinking?
- 9:48Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I still am trying to figure out that great Britain
- 9:51Speaker 2: has a baseball team.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Well in Italy, we don't want to talk about that.
- 9:57Speaker 3: I know it is. It is.
- 9:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 5: If I'm nine Italians to play baseball and one of
- 10:04Speaker 5: them is not Mike Piazza.
- 10:10Speaker 4: So I would say the quick the quickest sport that
- 10:12Speaker 4: I feel like a coach could implement his footprint on
- 10:15Speaker 4: it would be baseball and basketball because you could change
- 10:19Speaker 4: strategy right where, uh, tactical or you know kind of
- 10:23Speaker 4: things mls uh. If you don't have if you don't
- 10:26Speaker 4: have the horses to run, you're kind of limited with
- 10:28Speaker 4: your you know, with your.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Your stable AG. Yeah, and I think we saw this.
- 10:32Speaker 5: I thought we had to slow start a year ago
- 10:34Speaker 5: as well. When you have a whole you had a
- 10:37Speaker 5: bunch of new players, like half the roster was changed, right,
- 10:39Speaker 5: they need time to gel play together and kind of
- 10:43Speaker 5: you know, develop that chemistry. That time was not allotted
- 10:47Speaker 5: to Oscar Pereja or it just seems like it's just
- 10:51Speaker 5: there had to be something else other than just the
- 10:53Speaker 5: last game.
- 10:54Speaker 4: You can, uh, fans of only in the City hit
- 10:56Speaker 4: us up on real mobile seven sevens three one let
- 10:58Speaker 4: us know, because it just seems like Jack for the
- 11:00Speaker 4: last let's say three or four seasons, we've never started
- 11:04Speaker 4: a season on a on a on a tear Oroando
- 11:07Speaker 4: City for the last few years. Always seems that we've
- 11:10Speaker 4: started on our heels on the back for it to
- 11:13Speaker 4: start a season, and then it's kind of been that
- 11:15Speaker 4: where okay, we'll give them pass. Now they're going to
- 11:18Speaker 4: catch some heat in the middle of the season, and
- 11:20Speaker 4: then we flame out heading into the playoffs or playoffs
- 11:24Speaker 4: or you're trying to get to the playoffs. You know.
- 11:25Speaker 2: So again, if you haven't heard the breaking news, we're
- 11:28Speaker 2: just talking about the fact that Orlando City has just
- 11:31Speaker 2: amicably parted ways with now former head coach Oscar Pereja,
- 11:36Speaker 2: and it's going to be Martin Pearlman.
- 11:38Speaker 3: It's going to be the interim coach. That is correct,
- 11:40Speaker 3: didn't we agree?
- 11:41Speaker 2: We're going to pull a little bit of a Latino
- 11:43Speaker 2: twist on it's Martin. There you go, Mary, all.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Right, don't expect anything to change right now.
- 11:55Speaker 4: You're still stuck with what you're stuck with.
- 11:57Speaker 3: You gotta dance with who you brought with yea and listen.
- 12:00Speaker 2: You can hit us up at seven seven zero three

- 12:26Speaker 2: we'll give it a listen, put you on the air,
- 12:28Speaker 2: and turn you, yes into another radio superstar superstar.
- 12:33Speaker 3: We're gonna take a quick break.
- 12:34Speaker 2: When we come back, We're going to talk about some news,
- 12:37Speaker 2: including the fact that the war in Iran is causing
- 12:39Speaker 2: economic headaches beyond just gas prices.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Now, I know, shocking, isn't it.
- 12:45Speaker 2: The Orange County school Board made a heartbreaking decision last night,
- 12:49Speaker 2: and the Oscar swag bag includes crap that these people
- 12:52Speaker 2: simply don't need.
- 12:53Speaker 3: But I am always fascinated. I am too, and every
- 12:56Speaker 3: time I read this story, I'm like, seriously, you this,
- 13:00Speaker 3: I'm jealous. I'm jealous. I mean, my god.
- 13:03Speaker 2: But we'll talk about that and more coming up next
- 13:05Speaker 2: during JCS News to keep it right here on the
- 13:07Speaker 2: Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio.
- 13:09Speaker 3: One of four point one, one of Guys Sport from
- 13:22Speaker 3: Duvall Duval.
- 13:24Speaker 8: So you're telling me I can watch YouTube today. I
- 13:26Speaker 8: don't have to worry about the light. Jimmy's ball head.
- 13:29Speaker 9: And its binding me on the camera and I get
- 13:32Speaker 9: to see Angela.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Boom for a second time, a double dose that angel
- 13:36Speaker 3: of Boom Boom Bay have a good day, man.
- 13:41Speaker 10: Hey, shout out, Angel, have a great show.

- 14:11Speaker 3: What am I missing on three eleven day?

- 14:54Speaker 2: But side, you just want to be here for the
- 14:55Speaker 2: entire show because we're going to have a good time.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Jim will be back with us, tomor You've got Angel,
- 15:01Speaker 2: You've got Jack, and let's do some news.
- 15:04Speaker 1: It's time for JCS news.
- 15:08Speaker 12: Wow.
- 15:08Speaker 4: This this guy gotta put his name on everything.
- 15:10Speaker 9: It's in my contracted the Cork Show.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I know it makes me laugh too, and it shouldn't.
- 15:17Speaker 2: JCS News is brought to you by that mortgage guy
- 15:20Speaker 2: Don all Right. Florida gas prices are climbing yet again
- 15:23Speaker 2: as the war in Iran continues to pressure global oil markets.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Triple A says the state wide average is now three
- 15:29Speaker 2: dollars and seventy cents. That's up seven cents overnight and
- 15:33Speaker 2: fifty one cents in the last week. Although I have
- 15:35Speaker 2: seen reports that the average in Orlando is three seventy
- 15:39Speaker 2: six now. Prices are also seventy six higher than a
- 15:41Speaker 2: month ago. Diesel is seeing even bigger jumps, averaging five
- 15:45Speaker 2: to oh five state wide. That's up ninety five cents
- 15:48Speaker 2: in a week and a dollar fifty over the past month.
- 15:52Speaker 3: So here's where some relief finally comes in.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Hundreds of millions of barrels of oil are set to
- 15:57Speaker 2: be released from the International Energy Agencies Reserve. The IEA
- 16:01Speaker 2: announced the decision to release four hundred million barrels after
- 16:04Speaker 2: a meeting in Paris on Tuesday. This comes as oil
- 16:07Speaker 2: supply is being disrupted due to the Iran conflict. Specifically,
- 16:11Speaker 2: oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Horror Moves has
- 16:14Speaker 2: slowed to a trickle, causing the biggest supplied disruption in history.
- 16:18Speaker 2: This marks the largest oil release and the history of
- 16:22Speaker 2: the IEA. And of course, the US military yesterday saying
- 16:25Speaker 2: that they were taking out ships that were deploying drones
- 16:28Speaker 2: that were going to be going after these oil tankers.
- 16:30Speaker 2: So hopefully as they clear those out, the ships.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Can continue to move.
- 16:34Speaker 2: In the meantime, though, strap in for sticker shock in
- 16:37Speaker 2: some more places other than the pump.
- 16:40Speaker 13: Their first could go up because get fuel prices are
- 16:43Speaker 13: you have gone up rather large as well.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and economics expert ron Insana says, you can expect
- 16:49Speaker 2: anything associated with fuel, so basically everything. Despite as the
- 16:54Speaker 2: war with Iran goes on now, airlines around the world
- 16:56Speaker 2: are already to starting to hike ticket prices as the
- 17:00Speaker 2: price of jet fuel spikes.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Amid the ongoing war.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Speaking at a recent industry event, United Airlines CEO Scott
- 17:06Speaker 2: Kirby said he expected the situation in Iran to drive
- 17:09Speaker 2: up airfare costs and impact the airlines financial results this quarter.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Travel in Vietnam, they're saying operating costs at airports there
- 17:17Speaker 2: are up seventy percent.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Oil prices affect everything because everything is shipped. How it moves,
- 17:25Speaker 5: how it listening.
- 17:26Speaker 4: We had a bunch of guys over truck drivers that
- 17:30Speaker 4: were texting up the texting us this morning and diesel
- 17:33Speaker 4: was up to five bucks already. Yeah, we had a
- 17:35Speaker 4: bunch of guys text that in this one.
- 17:36Speaker 2: But you know, the other thing I found out recently
- 17:38Speaker 2: is how many other products are made with petroleum.
- 17:41Speaker 3: We always think it was because do we need to
- 17:45Speaker 3: do what? Go fund me for you? Angel? Is it
- 17:47Speaker 3: getting tough? The struggle is real, struggles real.
- 17:51Speaker 2: I was going to say something and then I remembered
- 17:53Speaker 2: our license. But yeah, like I mean fabrics and lotions
- 17:58Speaker 2: and lip ballms, I mean, you name it, it has
- 18:01Speaker 2: any kind of petroleum ingredient in it.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Man, I've never seen you blush. Angels. I want to
- 18:06Speaker 3: give you kudos on you. Let it go, man, let
- 18:09Speaker 3: it go. You're here as a guess.
- 18:11Speaker 5: But even like things like a fertilizer, what an ingraine
- 18:14Speaker 5: fertilizer comes from that area of the world. So they
- 18:18Speaker 5: talk about the tricodine effects could affect food production that
- 18:22Speaker 5: you'll see months to a year from now because of
- 18:25Speaker 5: the fertilizer that's need to grow that food. And it's
- 18:28Speaker 5: just you know, it's it's far reaching, the effects and
- 18:32Speaker 5: we haven't even felt them all yet.
- 18:34Speaker 2: No, no, And it's and that's outside of the what
- 18:36Speaker 2: one to two billions of one to two billion dollars
- 18:40Speaker 2: a day that the war is costing us. And these
- 18:42Speaker 2: are economic impacts that are coming outside of those costs.
- 18:45Speaker 2: All right, Speaking of money and impacts, it has been
- 18:48Speaker 2: an emotional week for members of the Orange County Public
- 18:51Speaker 2: Schools Board. The school board voted unanimously, unfortunately last night
- 18:55Speaker 2: to close six elementary schools and a middle school. Yeah,
- 18:59Speaker 2: at the end of this academic here and keep in mind,
- 19:01Speaker 2: this is just Orange County County. Bostiola is going through this,
- 19:04Speaker 2: Duval County is or Duval County is going through this now.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Video footage of the event last night shows many board
- 19:11Speaker 2: members wiping away tears as they work to consolidate students.
- 19:14Speaker 2: The elementary schools involved are Bonneville, Chickasaw, Eccleston, McCoy, Meadowoods
- 19:19Speaker 2: and Orla Vista. The other school is Union Park Middle School.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Damn yeah, you know someone who goes.
- 19:26Speaker 4: There, Well, my nephews did. Okay, yeah, like cousins and
- 19:32Speaker 4: stuff that I stayed with my dad. They went there. Well,
- 19:35Speaker 4: that one's going east Orlando, right around the corner.
- 19:38Speaker 3: It's a big deal with it is a huge thing.
- 19:40Speaker 3: When you're removed.
- 19:41Speaker 5: From it, you're like, oh yeah, but if that's where
- 19:45Speaker 5: your kid goes, and suddenly, what is it going to be?
- 19:49Speaker 2: New people, longer bus ride, if there even is a bus.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Are you going to have to change your work schedule?
- 19:55Speaker 2: I mean there's so much disruption to families when this happens.
- 19:58Speaker 2: But district officials say, listen, the schools are just well
- 20:01Speaker 2: below capacity, with one at just thirty eight percent. Now,
- 20:05Speaker 2: how much money do you think closing them is expected
- 20:07Speaker 2: to save the Orange County School District. Don't go too crazy,
- 20:12Speaker 2: but I mean it is a significant amount.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Ten million dollars.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Give yourself a dong, Jack, you got it right on
- 20:17Speaker 2: the button.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Jack got a dog man?
- 20:21Speaker 2: I think you've just named the show for today, all right,
- 20:27Speaker 2: Nither does Naomi?
- 20:30Speaker 5: This is a byproduct of defunding public education, which has
- 20:33Speaker 5: been a long running process here in the state of Florida.
- 20:37Speaker 2: It certainly has. It certainly has. You add that with
- 20:40Speaker 2: falling birth rates, and it's a real issue for those
- 20:42Speaker 2: who still believe and want to see our public school
- 20:44Speaker 2: system survive and succeed. Now, speaking of a school, this
- 20:49Speaker 2: next story is pretty cool. If you have a soon
- 20:51Speaker 2: to be high school graduate at home who dreams of
- 20:54Speaker 2: serving our nation in the armed forces while also earning
- 20:57Speaker 2: their college degree, Senator Rick Scott wants to.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Hear from them.
- 21:01Speaker 2: He says, the portal opened this week for students who
- 21:04Speaker 2: want to be nominated for the US Military, Naval, Air Force,
- 21:07Speaker 2: or Merchant Marine academies.
- 21:10Speaker 13: These are wonderful young men and women from Florida that
- 21:13Speaker 13: have the opportunity. It changes their life and also they
- 21:17Speaker 13: get to ride. They get to serve in the military
- 21:20Speaker 13: and defend the freedom of this country.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Tuition, as well as women board, are fully funded by
- 21:25Speaker 2: the federal government in exchange for service upon graduation. Nominations
- 21:29Speaker 2: are accepted through September twenty fifth online at Rick Scott
- 21:33Speaker 2: dot Senate dot gov. The Coastguard Academy does not require
- 21:37Speaker 2: a congressional nomination, So that's why the Coastguard wasn't included
- 21:40Speaker 2: in that. But Senator Scott says he gets about eight
- 21:43Speaker 2: hundred applications from Florida students every year to try and
- 21:46Speaker 2: be win that scholarship to one of the military academies.
- 21:49Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Now, what's really cool is the parents of Captain Cody Cork,
- 21:53Speaker 2: one of seven US soldiers killed in Operation Epic Fury,
- 21:57Speaker 2: are coming forward to talk about their son and his
- 21:59Speaker 2: dedication to the military.
- 22:01Speaker 5: I don't know how these people are doing it.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I do not either.
- 22:03Speaker 5: Eight days after this fellow died, you know, overseas in
- 22:08Speaker 5: this conflict, they are speaking on the news and talking
- 22:14Speaker 5: about a scholarship they have for their son. I know
- 22:16Speaker 5: they are putting all of this, you know, into a
- 22:19Speaker 5: positive all their grief in this positive effort.
- 22:22Speaker 3: But I applaud them.
- 22:23Speaker 5: I just think it's amazing to be that so recently
- 22:28Speaker 5: removed from just yeah, to be able to do this, Yeah, Wow,
- 22:34Speaker 5: bravo to them.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I know his father had said that there is no
- 22:37Speaker 2: greater sorrow for a father than to lose a son,
- 22:40Speaker 2: except that for this father he gets to also, you know,
- 22:43Speaker 2: contemplate his son's legacy and it was quite a legacy.
- 22:46Speaker 5: And his girlfriend who's also deployed with it. They were
- 22:50Speaker 5: supposed to be together but Warrent.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, And that's what speaking in Lakeland, his stepmother,
- 22:55Speaker 2: Stacy Cork like you just said, Jack Cody's fiance, Meghan
- 22:59Speaker 2: was transferred just before the drone attack, and how the
- 23:01Speaker 2: family feels about.
- 23:02Speaker 14: That she was not with him during the attack. So therefore,
- 23:08Speaker 14: if that would not have happened, we would have lost
- 23:10Speaker 14: them both. And our family firmly believes that God allowed
- 23:16Speaker 14: us to keep that peace of our son.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 2: KRK was killed in that Iranian drone attack in Kuwait
- 23:20Speaker 2: in the early days of Operation Epic Fury. And as
- 23:23Speaker 2: like Jack just said, his family is honoring him with
- 23:25Speaker 2: the scholarship in his name for would be cadets at
- 23:28Speaker 2: Florida Southern College in just seventy two hours that already
- 23:31Speaker 2: has more than one hundred and twenty donors. Now from
- 23:34Speaker 2: the good side of education, we go to this Florida
- 23:39Speaker 2: International University is investigating what its president calls an abhorrent
- 23:43Speaker 2: and extremely disturbing private group chat. FIU president Jeanette Nunez
- 23:49Speaker 2: recently released a statement about the racist, sexist, and homophobic
- 23:53Speaker 2: WhatsApp messages exchanged by members of the school's Turning Point
- 23:57Speaker 2: USA chapter that also apparently he also involved a Republican
- 24:02Speaker 2: chairman of the Republican Party out of Miami Dade County.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Oh boy, Yeah, someone old enough and of a position
- 24:08Speaker 2: high enough to know better to get involved with these
- 24:10Speaker 2: group chats.
- 24:12Speaker 3: She says.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Charges have been initiated based on violations of these schools
- 24:16Speaker 2: non discrimination regulation and the student Code of Conduct. Apparently
- 24:20Speaker 2: one of these messages someone had said, Wow, this is
- 24:24Speaker 2: this is like Nazi Heaven was how it was referred to.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Nuna says the students could be suspended or expelled for harassment,
- 24:31Speaker 2: engaging in threats, and interfering with the rights of others.
- 24:35Speaker 3: I don't know. This is what Turning Point USA is
- 24:38Speaker 3: it caught up in this? Yeah, this was their group chat.
- 24:40Speaker 5: Just a matter of time before someone from Tallahassee swoops
- 24:43Speaker 5: in to protect them.
- 24:45Speaker 3: It's funny you say that, all right, that's what's it.
- 24:49Speaker 4: The secretary of I forget the guy's position, but there's
- 24:53Speaker 4: a guy that's already there's from the government that's trying
- 24:55Speaker 4: to protect that group. Oh really, yeah, I say and
- 24:57Speaker 4: it's kind of one of those things where like that
- 24:59Speaker 4: organized kind of stepped into FIU and it's kind of
- 25:02Speaker 4: taking it over. And it's kind of a bummer because
- 25:04Speaker 4: f I, you back in the day, was a pretty
- 25:06Speaker 4: cool party school. Uh.
- 25:07Speaker 3: And if you'll notice the name Parties and if you
- 25:11Speaker 3: recognize the name Jeannette Nounez is a lieutenant governor, there
- 25:16Speaker 3: you go. Republican.
- 25:17Speaker 8: Yes.
- 25:17Speaker 2: And if you'll notice how many of former legislators, Republican
- 25:22Speaker 2: legislators have been actually placed into some of these schools
- 25:26Speaker 2: of higher education.
- 25:27Speaker 3: New South College, I believe, is another one.
- 25:28Speaker 5: See, it almost sounds like it's a plan.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Things that make you.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Go, yeah, he's the Miami Day GOP secretary. Yes, they're
- 25:39Speaker 4: asking for his resignation. They are, I mean, he's taking
- 25:42Speaker 4: it on the chin for them right now.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Well again, when you see the messages and the things
- 25:46Speaker 2: that are said, it's pretty horrible.
- 25:48Speaker 6: All right.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Maybe you saw on social media over the weekend there
- 25:51Speaker 2: was there's been a lot of work over like on
- 25:53Speaker 2: the Gulf coast over by Tara See it's a mangrove
- 25:57Speaker 2: area that Tampa Bay was thinking about turning from four
- 26:00Speaker 2: feet of water and dredging it into a sixty foot
- 26:03Speaker 2: canal to allow a.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Cruise port to come into town. All right, well you
- 26:07Speaker 3: can do that apparently.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, and that's because or this is why rather
- 26:12Speaker 2: Hillsborough County is suing the state government to shut down
- 26:15Speaker 2: the Live Local Act. If you're not aware of that,
- 26:18Speaker 2: that overrides local zoning for certain developments with affordable housing Now.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Commissioner Joshua Wostal called for the lawsuit in December, and
- 26:26Speaker 2: at that December meeting, Republican Commissioner Ken Hagen declared that
- 26:30Speaker 2: state lawmakers abandoned a key conservative principle when they passed
- 26:35Speaker 2: that act back in twenty twenty three.
- 26:38Speaker 15: The devolution of power from the federal level to state level,
- 26:41Speaker 15: to local governments and communities. And yet the Republican legislature
- 26:47Speaker 15: continues to make decisions that are contrary to this.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Well, another commissioner says, it feels like the board is
- 26:52Speaker 2: making land use decisions quote with a gun quote against
- 26:55Speaker 2: their heads. Supporters say local governments aren't allowing enough new housing. Yeah,
- 27:01Speaker 2: I don't think this is about affordable housing all right.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 27:04Speaker 2: The legislative session is wrapping up in Florida seventy bills
- 27:07Speaker 2: await Governor Ron De Santis' signature to become law. They
- 27:10Speaker 2: cover a range of topics. Keep these things in mind,
- 27:13Speaker 2: okay after for the next story, from road names and
- 27:16Speaker 2: medical diagnoses to veterinary prescriptions and candidate qualifications. If approved,
- 27:22Speaker 2: most of the bills will take effect on July first. However,
- 27:25Speaker 2: the twenty twenty sixth legislative session is winding down and
- 27:28Speaker 2: lawmakers set to adjourn on Friday. But one very very
- 27:33Speaker 2: important item, in fact, the only one constitutionally required, is
- 27:36Speaker 2: still up in the air, and that would be the
- 27:38Speaker 2: state budget. In fact, the House and Senate haven't even
- 27:42Speaker 2: begun negotiations on a spending package.
- 27:46Speaker 5: Is that their only job, that's.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Their only job. That's their only job. You had one
- 27:51Speaker 3: job job.
- 27:53Speaker 2: House Speaker Danny Perez says, there's quote a fundamental disagreement
- 27:57Speaker 2: end quote with the Senate, and that means.
- 28:00Speaker 4: As it is abundantly clear to all of you, we
- 28:03Speaker 4: will not complete the twenty twenty six twenty seven state
- 28:07Speaker 4: budget by the end of this week.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Which raises the question of what happens next. Lawmakers could
- 28:12Speaker 2: agree to extend the session until a budget has passed,
- 28:14Speaker 2: like they did last year, or come back down the
- 28:17Speaker 2: road for a special session, one of three that's already
- 28:20Speaker 2: been planned Forrez says his plan is to finish as
- 28:23Speaker 2: many bills as possible by Friday and just deal with
- 28:27Speaker 2: the budget later.
- 28:32Speaker 3: That's great.
- 28:32Speaker 5: So who pays when they have to do a special Oh.
- 28:35Speaker 2: You know the ATM That is the crack of the
- 28:38Speaker 2: ass of the taxpayer, which swipe that car?
- 28:44Speaker 3: That's awesome, tell me about it.
- 28:50Speaker 4: Then?
- 28:51Speaker 2: You know you've seen them strip bars, lens and the buns.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Five's in the thighsand? Who that's the card stripe of it?
- 29:00Speaker 6: There?
- 29:02Speaker 4: All right?
- 29:02Speaker 3: Finally this year's Oscars swag bag? All right, where we go?
- 29:08Speaker 3: I'm something this sucks. I've seen a couple.
- 29:12Speaker 5: I've seen a couple of the movies, just a couple
- 29:14Speaker 5: of this week I've been watching. Oh you have there's
- 29:16Speaker 5: only I think two of the nominees for Best Picture.
- 29:19Speaker 3: I haven't seen yet. Have you seen any of the
- 29:21Speaker 3: movies yet?
- 29:21Speaker 16: Uh?
- 29:22Speaker 4: Just the one I've seen f one and then I've
- 29:24Speaker 4: seen the one with Leonardo and Beniciollo. Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Cool, we're gonna do then is we're gonna get your
- 29:31Speaker 2: movie review? But first, now, of course, this stuff is
- 29:35Speaker 2: all free. You guys just want to take like a
- 29:36Speaker 2: crazy guess, just a crazy guest dollars.
- 29:40Speaker 4: No, not even close.
- 29:41Speaker 2: The Oscars the swag bag yeh more yes, oh you
- 29:45Speaker 2: already know what's in it.
- 29:46Speaker 4: No, I don't know. I'm just saying, I'm just making
- 29:48Speaker 4: wald ass assumption s her because it's the Oscars.
- 29:50Speaker 2: One hundred thousand dollars I haven't seen yet in gift cards.
- 29:54Speaker 3: And you and services botok okay oh yes.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Botok free LiPo suction and a custom prenup. Nice custom prenup.
- 30:08Speaker 2: This year, This year's Oscars, that wag bank, It's exactly.
- 30:12Speaker 2: It's like, okay, here's let's getting you ready for your
- 30:14Speaker 2: wedding and then for when it falls apart. The ninety
- 30:17Speaker 2: eighth Annual Academy Awards are this weekend. You know, our
- 30:20Speaker 2: one and only Jack Bradshaw will watch every single second
- 30:23Speaker 2: of it, and the movie stars attending the ceremony will
- 30:25Speaker 2: receive promotional gift bags filled with expensive merchandise.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Keyword expensive.
- 30:30Speaker 2: This year's swag bags will include a free vacation at
- 30:34Speaker 2: a wellness resort in Sri Lanka. Sure we're not a
- 30:37Speaker 2: body sculpting LiPo section experience and a custom prenuptial agreement
- 30:42Speaker 2: created by a celebrity divorce attorney. Other freebies in the
- 30:46Speaker 2: bag include chocolate pretzels topped with edible gold crystals okay,
- 30:51Speaker 2: and a luxury cannabis gift set from Bebo.
- 30:55Speaker 3: The Oscars will be handed out this Sunday.
- 30:58Speaker 5: No iPod they you said, but put an iPod iod.
- 31:01Speaker 4: I need a PS five exactly you want to get
- 31:05Speaker 4: to give me a PS five.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I will say that if it weren't for the gold
- 31:10Speaker 2: edible crystals, that's pretty pedestrian to have chocolate covered pretzels
- 31:13Speaker 2: in the Oscars swag bag, because you know Jack, that
- 31:15Speaker 2: would be the one and only thing that Jack would
- 31:17Speaker 2: grab out.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Of that would be the chocolate covered pretzels.
- 31:20Speaker 5: No, I might try the apricot scrub.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I'm definitely going with a luxury cannabis gift set, you know,
- 31:24Speaker 2: for a friend.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I remember a few years ago we had the bowl
- 31:27Speaker 4: games here and one.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Of the bowls, one of.
- 31:31Speaker 4: The football college bowl games that was here that particular year.
- 31:35Speaker 4: This is a few years ago, Jacks, I don't remember.
- 31:38Speaker 4: How was it. I can't remember. Did we have a
- 31:41Speaker 4: capital one bull at one time?
- 31:42Speaker 13: Yeah?
- 31:43Speaker 3: The little one. Uh uh not cheese. It's well, the only.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Reason poll it stands out to me. It was the
- 31:49Speaker 4: year where that was one of the most prized gift
- 31:53Speaker 4: backs that the players got out of the out of
- 31:55Speaker 4: all the country because they were one of the ones
- 31:57Speaker 4: that got like the the iPods, they had a video
- 32:01Speaker 4: game system. I think they had some headphones and everything,
- 32:03Speaker 4: and we was valued at and that's where the hubbub
- 32:06Speaker 4: was was like value between like thirty and fifty thousand
- 32:09Speaker 4: dollars gift bag for these college football players at the time. Wow,
- 32:13Speaker 4: this is before nil And.
- 32:14Speaker 3: I was gonna say, now they're like.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Here, yeah, yeah, they're getting the mills now exactly.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Hold my lambeau. And that concludes your JCS news.
- 32:23Speaker 5: Dely Lily Lamborghini.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Angel didn't know. We're gonna take a quick break.
- 32:27Speaker 2: When we come back, like I promised, we're gonna get
- 32:30Speaker 2: Jack and Angel's reviews of the Best movie nominations for
- 32:34Speaker 2: this coming Sunday's Oscars. Jack, you said you've seen all
- 32:37Speaker 2: of the movies except too.
- 32:38Speaker 17: No.
- 32:39Speaker 5: I just looked at the list. There's ten nominations. I
- 32:41Speaker 5: am shocked. I've seen seven of them and I wasn't
- 32:44Speaker 5: even trying. Wow, Hamnet have to wait.
- 32:49Speaker 3: What watched it two nights ago?
- 32:51Speaker 2: You're gonna have to wait for his review because we're
- 32:53Speaker 2: gonna do that next.
- 32:54Speaker 3: So keep it here.
- 32:55Speaker 2: On the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio one of
- 32:57Speaker 2: four point one s.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Miss Deborah, I love when you host the show.
- 33:15Speaker 18: Hey, guys, it is party Mom calling from Arizona, seeing
- 33:19Speaker 18: how everybody is. Angel La Boom. So awesome seeing you
- 33:24Speaker 18: on the live feed today. I hope everybody is doing great.
- 33:29Speaker 18: I'm doing okay, doing okay, hanging in there, mess you guys,
- 33:34Speaker 18: smoke weed every day, heyl.
- 33:37Speaker 19: I like to think of myself as a movie buff.
- 33:39Speaker 19: And we watched Centers the other night, and I gotta
- 33:42Speaker 19: tell you it's just, oh, brother, we' art thou and
- 33:44Speaker 19: From Dust Till Dawn without George Clooney. I didn't understand
- 33:49Speaker 19: why it's getting promoted for so much.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Okay, Michael B.
- 33:52Speaker 19: Jordan played twins, but you could tell at some points
- 33:55Speaker 19: that they weren't even.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Looking at each other.
- 33:57Speaker 19: It's just I don't understand why that movie.
- 34:00Speaker 8: Even up for it.
- 34:00Speaker 19: So I'm hoping Sinners doesn't win anything this weekend.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Wow, that's a hot take here on the Jim Clobert Show.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Thank you so much for spending part of your Wednesday
- 34:10Speaker 2: with us. We really do appreciate it. Jim has a situation.
- 34:14Speaker 2: He'll be back with us tomorrow. But thankfully we've got
- 34:17Speaker 2: the Angel of Boom joining us today.
- 34:19Speaker 4: Hello.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Hello, Thank you so much again, Angel for that last talkback.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Now.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I know the ninety eighth Annual Academy Awards are going
- 34:26Speaker 2: to be handed out this Sunday, Jack. I know you
- 34:29Speaker 2: are an awards show buff. You watch every single one
- 34:31Speaker 2: of them start to finish.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I don't know why I do.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I mean, it's the last communal event that we really have.
- 34:38Speaker 3: I mean, every year, every Monday, a handful of those
- 34:41Speaker 3: She's right, yeah, yeah, diminished, you know, less people watching
- 34:44Speaker 3: ratings or down. Ratings are down, and it's always a thing.
- 34:46Speaker 3: I don't know. I enjoy it.
- 34:48Speaker 5: Love movies so and I was surprised when I did.
- 34:52Speaker 5: I looked at the list of ten nominees. I was
- 34:53Speaker 5: surprised that I have actually seen seven out of the ten.
- 34:57Speaker 5: Now and I don't go to the movies only made
- 35:00Speaker 5: possible because of streaming, the new streaming atmosphere of how
- 35:04Speaker 5: soon that movie go to jump to streaming and all
- 35:08Speaker 5: the different services.
- 35:09Speaker 2: And I know that's usually a goal my best friend
- 35:13Speaker 2: and I make every year, is to at least see
- 35:15Speaker 2: the Best Picture nominees. Now, Jack, being that you've seen
- 35:18Speaker 2: seven out of the ten, have you seen Sinners? Because
- 35:21Speaker 2: here's my quandary with Sinners. I really want to see it,
- 35:24Speaker 2: but I really want to go in with as little
- 35:27Speaker 2: understanding of the hype as possible, you know, because that
- 35:30Speaker 2: sometimes hearing all the hype will ruin the movie.
- 35:33Speaker 4: That guy was going off of it as well.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Are you guys impressed with it?
- 35:37Speaker 4: I was completely blown away by it.
- 35:38Speaker 3: That's what everybody has been saying.
- 35:40Speaker 4: And there's a reason. There's a couple levels to this thing,
- 35:42Speaker 4: and hopefully this maybe gives that gentleman a little bit
- 35:45Speaker 4: of insight. Is the cultural importance of that movie is again,
- 35:48Speaker 4: it's the genre of horror movie, African American director, African
- 35:52Speaker 4: American leads. And so there's that kind of thing completely developed,
- 35:59Speaker 4: written by himself and kind of, you know, no studio help.
- 36:02Speaker 4: He kind of had to go outside of the studio
- 36:04Speaker 4: to get this thing made, you know. So there's there's
- 36:06Speaker 4: so there's the business aspects of it, underdog and then
- 36:10Speaker 4: there's the the fact that it's I and I would
- 36:15Speaker 4: love to hear again because he seems to be just
- 36:19Speaker 4: kind of cherry picking the things that are easy to
- 36:21Speaker 4: like look on social media and say, oh, this is
- 36:23Speaker 4: why it sucks, because there's stories development of the characters there,
- 36:29Speaker 4: and there's a definitely influence in the historical sense of
- 36:32Speaker 4: the South and the blues music. The soundtrack to that
- 36:34Speaker 4: thing is absolutely ridiculous with the music that was written
- 36:39Speaker 4: specifically for that. So there's yeah, it's it's a really
- 36:42Speaker 4: important movie, and it's a movie that, like Hollywood studios
- 36:46Speaker 4: aren't happy at the level of success.
- 36:49Speaker 3: But I liked it.
- 36:50Speaker 5: I didn't like it as much as Angel, but I
- 36:53Speaker 5: thought it was a really good movie. And then I
- 36:55Speaker 5: kept hearing all the hype. I'm like, wait, the same movie.
- 36:58Speaker 5: But you know, I understand that, and you know, if
- 37:02Speaker 5: the fact that the big studios don't like it when
- 37:04Speaker 5: an independent does, well, well, that's too bad.
- 37:06Speaker 3: I root for it exactly.
- 37:08Speaker 5: I do think Michael B. Jordan will win for Best Actor.
- 37:12Speaker 5: He's been getting the awards leading up. He's playing two
- 37:14Speaker 5: roles in it, so I think what that kind of
- 37:18Speaker 5: adds to is like, yeah, it's two chances to win
- 37:22Speaker 5: that award for one, you know movie. I think it'll
- 37:26Speaker 5: probably win Best Original Screenplay as well.
- 37:28Speaker 3: Is it the best picture to me? I don't know.
- 37:30Speaker 5: It's kind of a toss up between that and one
- 37:33Speaker 5: Battle after or another. I did watch I watched Train
- 37:36Speaker 5: Dreams last night. That's a little slower. I don't think
- 37:39Speaker 5: that's really in the conversation, even though it's one of
- 37:42Speaker 5: the ten that's nominated. I watched Hamnet. I thought that
- 37:45Speaker 5: was really good, But I think those get tricky when
- 37:49Speaker 5: you take fact. You're mixing fiction like historical fiction. Right,
- 37:55Speaker 5: So it's taking a real event.
- 37:58Speaker 3: In William Shakespeare's life.
- 38:00Speaker 5: Yeah, and then saying this is what we think happened,
- 38:04Speaker 5: but it is.
- 38:07Speaker 3: They did a really good job.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Wow, that's interesting. I didn't know you'd be into a
- 38:10Speaker 2: period piece. Oh yeah, the h Yeah, Angel, that's.
- 38:15Speaker 3: That's what you gotta say.
- 38:16Speaker 18: Yea.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Anyway, let's be honest, you all have been in the
- 38:20Speaker 2: period pieces for most of your adult life.
- 38:22Speaker 3: The don't smile that big angel.
- 38:25Speaker 5: But I think he's Jesse Buffman, the actress in Hamnet.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Yes, she's been getting most of the buzz.
- 38:30Speaker 5: She's but I mean she was absolutely amazing in this.
- 38:34Speaker 5: If she doesn't win the out, I'll be shocked at
- 38:36Speaker 5: that for Best Actress.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Okay, are you guys have got to be betting on this?
- 38:40Speaker 20: Right?
- 38:40Speaker 2: You bet on everything else, You're gonna place on any
- 38:42Speaker 2: money on who you think is gonna win Best Picture.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Because I only do legal betting. Dab Oh that's right, Jack,
- 38:47Speaker 3: I forgot a man of Integno, you.
- 38:48Speaker 4: Can go on Kelsey.
- 38:52Speaker 3: But here's the deal.
- 38:52Speaker 4: When if you use our station you get seventy bucks?
- 38:55Speaker 3: Is it real that you put in?
- 38:57Speaker 4: No? Yeah, it was a real lord Ta Okay, but have.
- 39:04Speaker 5: You done that that prediction?
- 39:05Speaker 8: Well, I neither.
- 39:09Speaker 4: I watched it from afar. But like hard rock, this
- 39:12Speaker 4: is how crazy that stuff's gotten. Jack, hard Rock Bets
- 39:15Speaker 4: unveiled their own version of that. So before all I did,
- 39:18Speaker 4: all my stuff was through hard rock, hard rock A Larne.
- 39:21Speaker 5: Yeah, and so the you know, it's I'm afraid once
- 39:24Speaker 5: I put my toe in that water, then it's like
- 39:27Speaker 5: because when I have my money and my hard rock
- 39:29Speaker 5: bed app more likely when I'm sitting at an Orlando
- 39:31Speaker 5: Magic game, it's like, oh, you know, Dallas is getting
- 39:34Speaker 5: nine and a half.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Here do you start puying on possessions.
- 39:37Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so you're just more likely to do it.
- 39:41Speaker 5: I haven't put my toe in that water because some
- 39:43Speaker 5: of it seems like unsavory, like betting on thermon nuclear war.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Yeah exactly. There's just some things we shouldn't bet on.
- 39:50Speaker 5: No, I do betting on the oscars. That is kind
- 39:53Speaker 5: of fun. We used to do an Oscar Palooza game
- 39:55Speaker 5: years ago. But it's fun to watch, and I was
- 40:00Speaker 5: I surprised myself the fact that I saw seven out
- 40:02Speaker 5: of the ten movies. The one I really wanted to
- 40:04Speaker 5: see is Marty Supreme, but that is it's still twenty
- 40:08Speaker 5: bucks if you want to watch it, it's not on free streaming.
- 40:11Speaker 4: Would you think about Frankenstein.
- 40:12Speaker 3: I loved it. I thought it was great.
- 40:14Speaker 4: I love that director. I love kind of what he
- 40:18Speaker 4: did with it.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:18Speaker 4: I think they're going to hold it against them that
- 40:20Speaker 4: it was on Netflix.
- 40:21Speaker 5: Yeah really, Yeah, Yeah, I think there is definitely you
- 40:24Speaker 5: talk about an industry, you know, stigma.
- 40:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 40:28Speaker 5: I think the old guard doesn't like when the streamers
- 40:32Speaker 5: straight to streamers are playing in their pool, and I
- 40:35Speaker 5: think we kind of.
- 40:36Speaker 3: Saw a lot of that play out with this whole.
- 40:38Speaker 5: Warner Brothers by when it was going to be Netflix,
- 40:41Speaker 5: and then you know, and then you know, paramounts and
- 40:44Speaker 5: not so fast.
- 40:45Speaker 2: And especially if Sinners is able to take any of
- 40:47Speaker 2: the big awards away, you can see how the you know,
- 40:49Speaker 2: the big studio has even more want to keep their
- 40:53Speaker 2: thumb down on the movies, you know, like Frankenstein. But
- 40:55Speaker 2: you know, good luck trying to hold the old guard
- 40:58Speaker 2: because obviously when great movies like that and they are
- 41:01Speaker 2: going to Netflix, it's not up to the voting members
- 41:04Speaker 2: of the Academy.
- 41:05Speaker 5: I do like the fact that streaming straight to streaming
- 41:08Speaker 5: movies are eligible and are getting recognized in this Yeah,
- 41:13Speaker 5: it is used to be if oh, you know, oh
- 41:16Speaker 5: straight to HBO at one time meant that, or straight
- 41:19Speaker 5: to cable meant.
- 41:20Speaker 3: That it was garbage. Yeah, exactly, it was. It wasn't worth.
- 41:23Speaker 5: The money, it was less than and now that's not
- 41:26Speaker 5: the case anymore. Which is it's neat seeing it being proved,
- 41:29Speaker 5: at least in the nomination phase.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, so.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Well, you know, if you want to weigh in and
- 41:34Speaker 2: maybe share what picture you think will win, We'll always think,
- 41:37Speaker 2: we'll always think, we'll take.
- 41:38Speaker 4: Your time, We'll take a long shot, on that one and.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Your text messages at seven seven zero three one. We're
- 41:45Speaker 2: gonna take a quick break and when we come back,
- 41:47Speaker 2: it's time for animal House.
- 41:48Speaker 3: So keep it here.
- 41:49Speaker 2: On the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio one of
- 41:51Speaker 2: four point one.
- 41:56Speaker 8: What monster.
- 42:00Speaker 6: You? No?
- 42:00Speaker 8: Hell, you have a tea bag?
- 42:02Speaker 9: Here's fold?
- 42:04Speaker 3: What are you up to now?
- 42:05Speaker 16: And here's no real interesting holidays today? But I did
- 42:09Speaker 16: learn of something new today. Uh, strawberries aren't actually berries,
- 42:15Speaker 16: but a banana is actually a berry. Things that make
- 42:18Speaker 16: you scratch your noggin and go wow if you get one, y'all.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Peace, Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show on Real
- 42:28Speaker 2: Radio one O four point one.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Angel has tea bag? Or is he ever joined you?
- 42:33Speaker 21: Who?
- 42:40Speaker 3: I'm not sure.
- 42:42Speaker 5: I don't think i've heard tea bags talkbacks on monsters.
- 42:47Speaker 4: No, he has not left us one.
- 42:51Speaker 3: That's a good thing.
- 42:52Speaker 2: No, someday you're gonna get lucky. If he's awake at
- 42:54Speaker 2: six to eleven, he might just do that.
- 42:56Speaker 4: Sounds like he might not be though.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Sleeping one off as you can hear across the stream.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Then Jim, Jim is off today. He'll be back with
- 43:07Speaker 2: us tomorrow. You've heard that you've got Angelo Boom from
- 43:10Speaker 2: Monsters in the Morning, You've got myself, deb and of
- 43:12Speaker 2: course Jack, our executive producer, and it's time for Animal House.
- 43:16Speaker 9: She likes the.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Furry, feathery, tough, and scaly. Keep going on.
- 43:22Speaker 8: Then I'm for Animal House.
- 43:25Speaker 4: All right.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Animal House is generously brought to us each and every
- 43:28Speaker 2: week by personal injury attorney Glenn Klausman over at Klosman Law.
- 43:32Speaker 2: We'll tell you how you can get in touch with
- 43:34Speaker 2: Glenn at the end of the segment. But now please
- 43:36Speaker 2: join me in welcoming the executive director of the Back
- 43:39Speaker 2: to Nature Wildlife Refuge, Debbie Household. Yay, Hey, deb how
- 43:45Speaker 2: you doing.
- 43:47Speaker 9: I'm good, I'm good.
- 43:48Speaker 12: Thanks for welcoming me back. Sorry, I'm not able to
- 43:50Speaker 12: be in the studio today. I just wanted to make
- 43:52Speaker 12: sure you know that I kept you guys safe and
- 43:55Speaker 12: a little healthy too. You know, I haven't been feeling
- 43:57Speaker 12: well this week and it seems to be kind of
- 43:59Speaker 12: going around with everybody again.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks for not coming in, Debbie, because I have
- 44:04Speaker 2: a feeling if I had to call Jack Bradshaw and
- 44:07Speaker 2: say that I was sick again, I do believe that
- 44:09Speaker 2: he would come and actually probably hit me at my house.
- 44:14Speaker 9: With the tea bags.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Oh quick on the rejoin all right, so listen, deb
- 44:22Speaker 2: I really want to thank you for joining us today,
- 44:24Speaker 2: being especially that you're home not feeling well today. But
- 44:27Speaker 2: I do know that the Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge,
- 44:29Speaker 2: you guys just recently opened after that big renovation and
- 44:32Speaker 2: construction project, and you have a fun event coming up
- 44:35Speaker 2: for families at Easter time.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Why don't you tell us about it?
- 44:39Speaker 12: Yeah, we just reopened in July, so a lot of
- 44:41Speaker 12: people are just figuring out, you know, that we've reopened,
- 44:44Speaker 12: which has been really amazing, even though we never quit
- 44:47Speaker 12: taking animals, you know, it was just being open to
- 44:49Speaker 12: the public. So it's exciting. But we're having our first
- 44:52Speaker 12: open house of the year and we're hoping that we
- 44:55Speaker 12: can finally get back on track with doing more stuff
- 44:57Speaker 12: and it's talked to it is going to becoming up
- 45:00Speaker 12: on March twenty eighth. It's a Saturday, and it's from
- 45:04Speaker 12: ten to two and we'll have the Easter money. We'll
- 45:06Speaker 12: be there available for photos, so that's always a good time.
- 45:12Speaker 12: We'll have vendors and food trucks and of course we'll
- 45:14Speaker 12: be bringing out a lot of the animal ambassadors. Actually,
- 45:18Speaker 12: now that we have a new education building that's air conditioned,
- 45:22Speaker 12: we've actually been utilizing that and bringing you know, several
- 45:25Speaker 12: of the ambassadors inside so that people can try to
- 45:27Speaker 12: cool off a little bit. So that's been really really nice.
- 45:31Speaker 12: Don't like the electric bill, but love the new buildings,
- 45:34Speaker 12: so yeah, exactly, it's been really good.
- 45:38Speaker 2: So these events they'll help you offset those costs like
- 45:41Speaker 2: the electric bills and everything else, right, Yeah, yeah, they do.
- 45:44Speaker 12: I mean we get money from the vendors and you know,
- 45:47Speaker 12: when people will be able to go back on the
- 45:49Speaker 12: Wildlife Walk, and we do charge ten dollars a person,
- 45:52Speaker 12: or they can get a twenty twenty six pass for
- 45:54Speaker 12: thirty seven dollars. And I know you're probably going thirty
- 45:57Speaker 12: seven that's a weird number. Well, you know, we have
- 46:00Speaker 12: actually based our yearly or annual pass on how long
- 46:03Speaker 12: Back to Nature's been around, and this June is actually
- 46:06Speaker 12: thirty seven years.
- 46:07Speaker 9: Wow, seven dollars.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Right, that is awesome.
- 46:12Speaker 12: I know it's been one week ago was thirty six
- 46:16Speaker 12: years for.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Me, So congratulations from the beginning. Yeah, and we're not going.
- 46:20Speaker 2: To mention that we've worked together most of that time.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Aren't we a very long.
- 46:24Speaker 12: Time I know that that was a different station in
- 46:29Speaker 12: a long time ago. Yes it was, but but you came,
- 46:32Speaker 12: you know, to the site, and you you know many
- 46:34Speaker 12: times had been out there with us, and we sure
- 46:36Speaker 12: appreciate that. I've I've loved building on our relationship all
- 46:40Speaker 12: these years and still getting to hang out with you.
- 46:43Speaker 9: So we appreciate that absolutely.
- 46:45Speaker 2: And WI you do a lot of great work is
- 46:47Speaker 2: for the wildlife here in central Florida, and you know,
- 46:50Speaker 2: as well as everyone knows, if you've been here any
- 46:52Speaker 2: length of time, the landscape has changed so much with
- 46:56Speaker 2: more housing subdivisions and apartment complexes than there are our wildlife.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Are you guys getting the usual or more influx of
- 47:04Speaker 2: animals this year?
- 47:06Speaker 12: Yeah, it's already starting. You know, we're going into the springtimes.
- 47:09Speaker 9: Babies now it is baby times.
- 47:11Speaker 12: So we're starting to get a lot more babies. And
- 47:14Speaker 12: in truth, you know, it's all man related. You know
- 47:16Speaker 12: a lot of these animals are being found in people's yards.
- 47:18Speaker 12: It's dog attack, can attack, hit by car. You know,
- 47:21Speaker 12: three main reasons. We get almost everything that we get
- 47:24Speaker 12: in and so you know, we would be ignorant to
- 47:27Speaker 12: think that it's not related to all the development, and
- 47:29Speaker 12: the animals just don't have a lot of natural environment,
- 47:32Speaker 12: you know, left to be able to play in. So
- 47:35Speaker 12: they frequent the populated areas, just trying to figure out
- 47:38Speaker 12: how to coexist with us, and it doesn't always work
- 47:41Speaker 12: out in their best interests. So, you know, but we
- 47:44Speaker 12: are starting to get you know, a lot of babies
- 47:46Speaker 12: right now. Unfortunately, especially with raccoons right you know, we're
- 47:51Speaker 12: seeing a huge, huge influx right now with sick raccoons
- 47:55Speaker 12: and it could be rabies, but it's most likely distemper.
- 47:59Speaker 12: Distemper parvo is really big in the raccoons right now.
- 48:02Speaker 12: So they're sick and we're getting calls every day about those,
- 48:05Speaker 12: and it's not something that's treatable, you know that they
- 48:07Speaker 12: can go back out. And we potentially could any of
- 48:12Speaker 12: the animals that we have if we just accidentally somehow
- 48:15Speaker 12: cross contaminate. Yeah, you know, we can. We can have
- 48:18Speaker 12: a lot of sick animals, even our ambassador animals. We
- 48:20Speaker 12: could lose a lot of them to sick you know, raccoons,
- 48:23Speaker 12: And so if they're sick, we don't even let them
- 48:25Speaker 12: come on site. We just encourage them to call Animal
- 48:28Speaker 12: services right away and have them picked up, because it
- 48:30Speaker 12: just it's not worth.
- 48:31Speaker 3: The risk, and it is a huge risk.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Yeah, especially if you have like a if your dog
- 48:36Speaker 2: not your log, if your dog likes to go out
- 48:38Speaker 2: and sniff and comes across a sick raccoon, you're definitely
- 48:41Speaker 2: gonna want to keep your dogs and cats away from
- 48:43Speaker 2: any animals wild animals that appear to be sick, because
- 48:47Speaker 2: it doesn't have to just be rabies.
- 48:48Speaker 3: It could be parvo, it could.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Be any of those other things hopefully vaccinated against. But
- 48:52Speaker 2: just in case now, Debbie, I did want to ask
- 48:54Speaker 2: you one quick question before we go. I do want
- 48:57Speaker 2: folks to know that I'm going to be posting the
- 48:59Speaker 2: Animal How podcast with all of the details to hop
- 49:02Speaker 2: to it again coming up on Saturday, March twenty eighth
- 49:05Speaker 2: from ten am to two pm. Absolutely free event photos
- 49:09Speaker 2: with the Easter Bunny, wildlife encounters, arts and crafts vendors,
- 49:12Speaker 2: local food trucks, and a chance to meet your animal ambassadors.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I wanted to ask about Gomez the American Crow. Is
- 49:19Speaker 2: it true, Debbie, that if you hurt or help a crow,
- 49:23Speaker 2: it will not only remember your face, but tell generations
- 49:27Speaker 2: of its murder?
- 49:28Speaker 3: Who you are and what you did.
- 49:31Speaker 12: That's kind of what I understand. I mean, they're the
- 49:33Speaker 12: animals are so much more intelligent than we give them
- 49:36Speaker 12: credit for. And you know, he's he's our newest ambassador,
- 49:41Speaker 12: you know that we have. And he's got a bum wing.
- 49:43Speaker 12: He's got a pellet still lodged in his wing because
- 49:46Speaker 12: somebody shot him and then we didn't find that at first.
- 49:49Speaker 12: Then his wing wasn't healing and he wasn't able to
- 49:52Speaker 12: extend and fly. You know, we had an X ray
- 49:54Speaker 12: down on him and found it and it just isn't
- 49:56Speaker 12: in a place that it can be removed. But he's
- 49:58Speaker 12: mimicking everybody on the the sun. So we have a
- 50:02Speaker 12: you know, our ring tooled Leama Rose. He's actually mimicking
- 50:05Speaker 12: her too, and she's not very happy about that.
- 50:10Speaker 5: If you said about he'll bring back shiny trinkets, right, Yeah,
- 50:14Speaker 5: they like their thieves.
- 50:16Speaker 12: And they like shiny stuff, and so you have to
- 50:18Speaker 12: be really careful about that. You know, we do a
- 50:20Speaker 12: lot of times put mirrors in and shiny things. We
- 50:22Speaker 12: have a Shiny Day, you know, and things like that.
- 50:25Speaker 12: Times you can even make chimes out of silverware, you know,
- 50:29Speaker 12: and things like that cool and they play with all
- 50:31Speaker 12: kinds of stuff. So he's he's keeping us entertained. You know,
- 50:35Speaker 12: we're trying to keep him entertained, but I think it's
- 50:36Speaker 12: more he's keeping us entertained. So yeah, he's he's a
- 50:41Speaker 12: kind of a fun new ambassador that everybody's very excited about.
- 50:45Speaker 2: Which is great because you'll have the chance to meet
- 50:47Speaker 2: Gomez the American glorl Yeah, I do too, It's one
- 50:50Speaker 2: of my favorite characters in Adam's family.
- 50:52Speaker 6: Right.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Yeah, So, Debbie, where do folks go to get more
- 50:55Speaker 2: information and to get the details for hot to it?
- 50:59Speaker 12: Honestly on Facebook at back to Nature Wildlife Refuge. We're
- 51:03Speaker 12: also on Instagram, uh, but they can reach out to
- 51:06Speaker 12: the website at btnwildlife dot org. They can call us

- 51:25Speaker 12: lot more user friendly and more up to date than
- 51:28Speaker 12: the one that we have currently. We're going through a
- 51:30Speaker 12: lot of growing pains right now. So you know a
- 51:32Speaker 12: lot of good stuff is coming for us.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Yeah, but small st yeah yeah.
- 51:37Speaker 12: Well, you know, we're we're hiring two part time people
- 51:40Speaker 12: right now in house for fifteen hours to help us
- 51:44Speaker 12: with the influx of babies because we're just so exhausted
- 51:47Speaker 12: from taking the babies home at nights. We're trying to
- 51:50Speaker 12: keep more on site and just have people there feeding
- 51:53Speaker 12: them later. So that's hopefully going to be super helpful
- 51:56Speaker 12: for us.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Well, what we're going to do is we're going to

- 53:14Speaker 22: One kjimkobtro It's Mason dab I sent you an email
- 53:23Speaker 22: following up on your Submarine talk yesterday.
- 53:26Speaker 9: I also wanted to give.
- 53:28Speaker 19: You some more information at submarine or that's a mariner.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 53:33Speaker 22: I was on submarines for six years, still active duty, qualified,
- 53:38Speaker 22: got my dolphins on the USS Florida SSGN seven twenty eight.
- 53:45Speaker 9: And yeah, love you guys, dude, We.
- 53:49Speaker 3: Love you back.
- 53:50Speaker 9: That is so cool, right on, dude.
- 53:52Speaker 2: All the people I've met who have served, and thankfully
- 53:55Speaker 2: so in our armed forces, I've never talked to anyone
- 53:57Speaker 2: who earned their dolphins serving on a submarine and submit submariner.
- 54:03Speaker 3: Yes, to learn something, Yes, there you go, there we go. See.
- 54:09Speaker 2: Like I told you, we learned something new every day
- 54:11Speaker 2: on the Jim Colbert Show. But we're not done learning yet, kids,
- 54:14Speaker 2: No we're not. Because every Wednesday at this time, we
- 54:18Speaker 2: invite the Absolute Sentinel for the City of Orlando, sweet Heat,
- 54:23Speaker 2: the Truth Dragon himself. Gentlemen, please join me in welcoming
- 54:27Speaker 2: Orlando Sentinel columnist Scott Maxwell.
- 54:33Speaker 3: How's it going, Scott? Uh?
- 54:35Speaker 8: Doing great? And you know, if I can't get a
- 54:37Speaker 8: main dish of Colbert and I'll take a side order angel, So.
- 54:40Speaker 3: I'm glad you and the rest of the audience.
- 54:43Speaker 8: And He's right, Who the hell do these Rulex. People
- 54:46Speaker 8: think they are telling everybody to call it sub mariner.
- 54:49Speaker 8: I'll take it from the people who served on the
- 54:51Speaker 8: damn ship, right.
- 54:52Speaker 3: Thank you very much. That's a very good point.
- 54:54Speaker 8: Which I have to tell you, guys, this is only
- 54:57Speaker 8: related to that. The most badass thing I have ever
- 55:00Speaker 8: seen in thirty years of living in central Florida was
- 55:03Speaker 8: when I was fishing at Jetti Park in Port Canaveral
- 55:06Speaker 8: once and all of this, I mean, the water is still,
- 55:11Speaker 8: there is nothing happening. I've got a line out there,
- 55:13Speaker 8: and all of a sudden, I think the lock freaking
- 55:15Speaker 8: ness monster is rising up because a submarine has come
- 55:20Speaker 8: in there. And those things are giant and they do
- 55:23Speaker 8: not breach, you know, they give no notification before they
- 55:25Speaker 8: came up. And it was scary and awesome.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Oh that would be cool.
- 55:29Speaker 4: It's awesome.
- 55:30Speaker 3: That would be so cool.
- 55:31Speaker 2: Hey, by the way, Scott, if you haven't had a chance,
- 55:33Speaker 2: I don't know how much experience you have with submarines,
- 55:36Speaker 2: but Jack had recommended a really cool twenty four minute
- 55:39Speaker 2: video on YouTube.
- 55:40Speaker 3: You can find it at Jim Colbert The Jim Colbert.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Jim Colbert dot com. Will you'll find the list and
- 55:46Speaker 2: I was fascinated by it. I had no idea what
- 55:49Speaker 2: life would be like on a submarine.
- 55:50Speaker 3: That seems to miserable, Scott.
- 55:52Speaker 8: Oh, I'm a little too claustrophobic, Yeah are you?
- 55:55Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 55:56Speaker 5: Hey, the sleeping corners alone, yeah, I can imagine that
- 56:00Speaker 5: someone else getting into a warm bed.
- 56:03Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, no, thank you please. But thank you to
- 56:06Speaker 8: those who.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Served, absolutely. Yeah, how cool that is. And thanks for
- 56:09Speaker 2: that talk back. That was awesome. So thank you Mason,
- 56:12Speaker 2: and thank you for your service as well. So, Scott,
- 56:14Speaker 2: you have a couple of tasty articles on tap for
- 56:17Speaker 2: us today.
- 56:17Speaker 3: What do you want to tackle first?
- 56:19Speaker 2: Uh, crappy roads or crappy legislature or angry first?
- 56:26Speaker 5: Let's end on the good note. Get angry first and.
- 56:29Speaker 3: Yeah, there we go. Yeah, good call on that, Jack, Well.
- 56:31Speaker 8: If you want to be angry. So, uh, there was
- 56:35Speaker 8: a bill and I think we've talked about this before
- 56:37Speaker 8: you no, I know we did about two months ago.
- 56:39Speaker 8: Months ago that was filed to make public records more
- 56:43Speaker 8: accessible to the two citizens. And this is this is
- 56:46Speaker 8: a big deal in my mind. It's sort of sort
- 56:48Speaker 8: of the the what all of government and open government
- 56:51Speaker 8: is based upon. And it's not just about Tallahassee. Like
- 56:54Speaker 8: if you your deb you know your your man works
- 56:57Speaker 8: and local government, if your city's thinking about building a
- 57:01Speaker 8: walmart or you know a landfill near your house, you
- 57:06Speaker 8: have a right to get every piece of public information
- 57:09Speaker 8: that has been given to the city to know what
- 57:10Speaker 8: the plans are. If the school board has plans to
- 57:13Speaker 8: shut down your kids' schools, you theoretically have the right
- 57:17Speaker 8: to not Theoretically, you do have the right to say, well,
- 57:19Speaker 8: let me see the documents, let me see who's been lobbying,
- 57:21Speaker 8: let me see what's going on. But in Florida it
- 57:24Speaker 8: has just gone to pot over the past i'd say
- 57:27Speaker 8: six years, and government officials have stopped honoring those requests,
- 57:33Speaker 8: and mainly I'd say the lead culprit is Ron de Santus.
- 57:37Speaker 8: I mean, we've had every other week there's some information
- 57:40Speaker 8: that we can't get about how public money has spent,
- 57:43Speaker 8: no big contracts at Alt Alligator Alcatraz, when they spend
- 57:46Speaker 8: millions of dollars or hundreds of thousands on these little
- 57:49Speaker 8: planes to fly immigrants to migrants to Martha's Vineyard, spent
- 57:54Speaker 8: way more money than I mean, they could have done
- 57:56Speaker 8: first class on any airline and it would have been.
- 57:59Speaker 8: But they're you know, they're ponies, were getting it. They're
- 58:01Speaker 8: allowed to do that. What they're not allowed to do
- 58:03Speaker 8: is hide the public information COVID data reports back when
- 58:07Speaker 8: the governor was claiming he was number one on that,
- 58:09Speaker 8: we just wanted to see some of the data and
- 58:11Speaker 8: the state wouldn't release health reports that were public. So
- 58:14Speaker 8: over and over again people have sued DeSantis, including the
- 58:18Speaker 8: Orlando Sentinel, and we win because this is not a
- 58:21Speaker 8: questionable case. The public is entitled to public records. So
- 58:25Speaker 8: finally there was a bill that says enough of this,
- 58:27Speaker 8: and it says if a citizen asks for a public record,
- 58:31Speaker 8: they're entitled to it within fifteen days. If they don't
- 58:34Speaker 8: get it, they have to get an explanation. They cannot
- 58:37Speaker 8: be charged excessive fees. We've we've seen stories where somebody says,
- 58:41Speaker 8: I want to know what my city council is doing.
- 58:43Speaker 8: They filed a requests and the city says, oh, okay,
- 58:45Speaker 8: that's fine, but you is fifty two hundred dollars before
- 58:48Speaker 8: we can you can see what's going on. So they
- 58:50Speaker 8: said they can't do that. And lastly, the bill said
- 58:53Speaker 8: that if a public official Stone walls or hides a
- 58:56Speaker 8: public record. That's a crime, which it is, and they
- 58:59Speaker 8: can be prosed. So this bill passed one hundred and
- 59:02Speaker 8: eleven to zero in the Florida House. Yeah. So that's Republicans,
- 59:07Speaker 8: that's Democrats, that's flying purple people eaters. Everybody has come
- 59:11Speaker 8: together to say that this is a no brainer. But
- 59:14Speaker 8: the Florida Senate tank. Here we go, the Florida Senate
- 59:17Speaker 8: tanked it. And you know, I was a schmuck. I
- 59:19Speaker 8: even wrote a column, you know, like two months ago, saying,
- 59:21Speaker 8: you know what, maybe let me give these cut these
- 59:24Speaker 8: guys a slice of slack. Maybe they're doing something good.
- 59:28Speaker 8: Let's cheer for them for this bill. And then the
- 59:30Speaker 8: House sponsor said, no, the Senate has tanked it. And
- 59:33Speaker 8: that means that's the president Ben Alberton, and it looks
- 59:36Speaker 8: like he's mainly done it because DeSantis doesn't want to
- 59:40Speaker 8: caugh up these records and his office doesn't want to
- 59:42Speaker 8: be accountable and face any consequences.
- 59:44Speaker 2: Well, I mean, considering how difficult it has been. I
- 59:47Speaker 2: remember the Orlando Sentinel, this was weeks and weeks ago,
- 59:50Speaker 2: had written an article about something like eighty plus vehicles
- 59:53Speaker 2: that belonged to Hope, Florida, the first Lady Casey DeSantis's
- 59:57Speaker 2: side project that apparently cannot be found in like any
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: vehicle databases, like they just don't exist. So every time
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: you know, you see Blazing Golia run around the state
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: asking to see cities records. My point of contention has
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: always been I loved the idea of getting rid of fraud.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: But let's start with the top of the house. Let's
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: let's start with Yeah, let's start with the.
- 1:00:19Speaker 8: Big ticket items. I think a couple of weeks we
- 1:00:21Speaker 8: talked ago about about everybody's favorite porta Potti company, Duty Calls,
- 1:00:27Speaker 8: the single biggest contract for Alligator Alcatraz. I think think
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: of getting this number right? Was ninety two million dollars
- 1:00:35Speaker 8: for Duty Calls? Right now, maybe Duty Calls is the
- 1:00:39Speaker 8: best prison building company in America, even though they don't
- 1:00:43Speaker 8: build prisons. Maybe the guy who runs it isn't just
- 1:00:47Speaker 8: a buddy of the governor or somebody, and uh, you know,
- 1:00:49Speaker 8: maybe there's less of legitimate reasons for why that company
- 1:00:52Speaker 8: deserves ninety million dollars. The public has a right to
- 1:00:54Speaker 8: see it. You have a right to see whether bids
- 1:00:56Speaker 8: were issued. You have a right to see whether any
- 1:00:58Speaker 8: other companies tried to get it. You have a right
- 1:01:00Speaker 8: to see whether the government tried to get a better
- 1:01:02Speaker 8: price for that stuff. This is why you have media
- 1:01:05Speaker 8: and everybody else is entitled to public records. And it's
- 1:01:08Speaker 8: really pretty clear.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: And isn't it even more so important in a state
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: like Florida, which has Sunshine State laws.
- 1:01:14Speaker 8: Yes, and for years we were the envy of most
- 1:01:17Speaker 8: states of the rest of America people we had these
- 1:01:20Speaker 8: tough laws. But then sort of DeSantis came along and
- 1:01:23Speaker 8: what he realized was they have these rules and it
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: still says the same thing. Citizens are entitled to public information.
- 1:01:29Speaker 8: But what the laws do not have is any teeth.
- 1:01:31Speaker 8: They don't have anything that say if a government official
- 1:01:34Speaker 8: does not hand over the records, so the hell what.
- 1:01:37Speaker 8: And so that's a big part of what this did,
- 1:01:39Speaker 8: and it puts some requirements for them to have to
- 1:01:41Speaker 8: tamp down the fees as well. Like I say, I
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: think it's and it steams my claims and that's probably
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: the intention.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Well it frosted my flakes as well. To talk about
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: the fact that the one job I got you hands clams.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: I know, I know it's not very good yeah, no,
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: but the fact that the legislature is getting ready to
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: you know, conclude their legislative session on Friday without doing
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: the one thing they're supposed to do. But we do
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: have a couple of roads around Florida that are going
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: to be renamed.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean, what the hell is going on?
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: That's right, we got we got about uh I think
- 1:02:17Speaker 8: every airport road in the state's going to be named
- 1:02:20Speaker 8: after Donald Trump by the time they're done.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: K or Charlie Kirk.
- 1:02:24Speaker 8: Yes, absolutely. Remember there there was a bill for a while,
- 1:02:28Speaker 8: I think this one got shot down that said every
- 1:02:30Speaker 8: single university in the state of Florida had to name
- 1:02:33Speaker 8: a road after Charlie Kirk, which not only sounds nuts,
- 1:02:37Speaker 8: it sounds confusing what you do, but you're going to
- 1:02:41Speaker 8: Charlie Kirk Boulevard, Charlie Kirk Avenue, Charlie Kirk Ray.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: So again that that goes back to, you know, taxpayer money.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: And then I know Jimmy had brought up earlier this
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: week that you know, Florida may be on the hook
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: for the cost for Alligator Alcatraz instead of the Feds.
- 1:02:57Speaker 8: So oh, it looks completely like that the Florida is
- 1:03:00Speaker 8: going to be on the hook for that, which is
- 1:03:02Speaker 8: why you want to I mean, I argue that when
- 1:03:04Speaker 8: you're spending taxpayer money, no matter whose money it is,
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: it should be well spent. But this is gonna be
- 1:03:09Speaker 8: our dollars. The FEDS have basically said no, that you're
- 1:03:12Speaker 8: you're stuck with the bill, which is not what we
- 1:03:14Speaker 8: were told. But once again, government officials can do what
- 1:03:17Speaker 8: they want largely along within the law, but they have
- 1:03:20Speaker 8: to give the information for how it gets done. And
- 1:03:22Speaker 8: it's not just about uh, it's not just about the
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: state government. Just as another example of cop shootings, lots
- 1:03:29Speaker 8: of times when there's questions about that, police departments have
- 1:03:32Speaker 8: to give, you know, are supposed to give up records
- 1:03:35Speaker 8: that show what happened, body camera footage, stuff like that
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: that shows what happens. That used to come straightforward, and
- 1:03:42Speaker 8: now when you ask, they're kind of slow walk in
- 1:03:44Speaker 8: these requests. And there's slow walk in really basic things,
- 1:03:46Speaker 8: you know, when we ask for records from cities and
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: counties because there's no accountability, and it looks like that's
- 1:03:51Speaker 8: going to good to you.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: All right, Well, let's talk about another topic that's sure
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: to make the folks at Central Florida feel good and
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: that's about our roads.
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: Yeah, this one's this one. I'm curious for what you
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: guys think. You may have seen the story, or you
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: guys may have even talked about it. We did where
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: pet Boys surveyed all of their customers and all their markets,
- 1:04:11Speaker 8: which is nationwide, and they saw who has the most
- 1:04:14Speaker 8: repairs for like alignments out of whack, for pop tires,
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: for suspensions getting cracked, and they determined that Central Florida
- 1:04:23Speaker 8: Orlando had the worst roads in America. I'm not sure
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: I'm buying that. Well, I guess I'll start there. What
- 1:04:31Speaker 8: do you guys think?
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: Have you driven in East Orlando?
- 1:04:37Speaker 8: So that's one vote for you.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it speaks a lot to a lot
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: of the construction.
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: But I would just think any place that really experiences
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: winter with ice and snow and then the salt that
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: they put down, the remedy that has so much more
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: potholes and other road issues that we don't have, and
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: just the fact that Ohio is still part of the
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: United States that's accessful.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: So that's gotta be work. What do you have against Ohio, Dude,
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: I don't know what it's like. I don't.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: Have you seen what they do with their chili?
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: Yeah? I have? Okay, yeah, the cinnamon thing.
- 1:05:10Speaker 8: No, I think Jax, right, I mean they got potholes
- 1:05:12Speaker 8: that can swallow buicks up in Michigan. You know, I
- 1:05:14Speaker 8: don't think that we have that over.
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: What we have.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Yes, that's where I was going to say the worst roads.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Thest worst part of the roads to me is just
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: that they're constantly under construction. It seems like every time
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: one barrel has been moved from one side of I four,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: they just shut the other half of it down and
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: start all over again.
- 1:05:32Speaker 8: And so that's what I ended up writing about today
- 1:05:34Speaker 8: is I'm not sure I buy that we have the
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: worst actual roads in terms of repair, but I do
- 1:05:39Speaker 8: believe we have some of the most maddening driving.
- 1:05:41Speaker 23: Yes.
- 1:05:42Speaker 8: Yeah, Now the only place where it's nuttier is South
- 1:05:46Speaker 8: Florida on I ninety five. That's like a fast and
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: furious every time you get on that.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: Oh that is mad Max.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: But you know who I want to bitch slap is
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: the engineer who designed the entrance and exit to get
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: on to the four fourteen. Right, So you're coming up
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: Maitland Ave or Maitland Boulevard and to exit to where
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: I need to go to the radio station. They designed
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: it that two lanes are also trying to merge. Yeah,
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: so we're all trying to. You have to put your
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: blinker on a quarter mile before you get to the exit,
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: just to let people know who are emerging.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: I need to go where you're at.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: I'll check raise you the San Lake Road exit on
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: a National drive.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: All you had to say was San Lanck.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: I still I have avoided driving that because that thing
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: is fun.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: The Crossing Diamond, Yes, yeah, yeah, I've heard that.
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: I think there's one that may be even worse.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: What is that?
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: Have you tried to get on, like the Western Beltway
- 1:06:38Speaker 8: out on fifty? I mean you could. You can be
- 1:06:40Speaker 8: on that exit ramp or entrance ramp for thirty minutes,
- 1:06:43Speaker 8: Oh yeah, four or five? Now you now, Jack and
- 1:06:46Speaker 8: Deb you guys are always on the air, but Angel
- 1:06:48Speaker 8: and I might be driving around. It can be I'm
- 1:06:50Speaker 8: not kidding, thirty minutes just to merge to get on
- 1:06:52Speaker 8: this beltway.
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: Oh absolutely, It's horrible. Those people stuck on there right now?
- 1:06:58Speaker 8: Yeah, right, And and the and the thing that if
- 1:07:00Speaker 8: you start to think about this, we just start to take,
- 1:07:02Speaker 8: for granted, another place that's always piled up as the
- 1:07:04Speaker 8: four oh eight East Western. Yes, head into downcount in
- 1:07:07Speaker 8: the morning and we just sort of go oh, but
- 1:07:09Speaker 8: I mean, think about that as a freaking toll road.
- 1:07:12Speaker 8: You are paying theoretically for express way privileges, and those
- 1:07:18Speaker 8: are some of the worst. When was the last time
- 1:07:20Speaker 8: you took the turnpike and had had a traffic free
- 1:07:24Speaker 8: trip down to South Florida?
- 1:07:26Speaker 23: Never?
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Is this thing on?
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Yeah, real quick, Scott, I did want to share with
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: you a very interesting text message that we received at
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one going back to.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: Duty calls right the Portalect company.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: So someone who text us all the time, thank you
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: so much seven seven zero three one s that I've
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: been working on construction sites since two thousand and six
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: here in Florida from Jacksonville to Jupiter, never ever heard
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: or seen duty calls on a portalette.
- 1:07:56Speaker 8: And you are he is. There's a reason he hasn't.
- 1:07:58Speaker 8: That company did not exist five years ago. So think
- 1:08:02Speaker 8: about this. The single biggest contractor in al Alligator Alcatraz
- 1:08:08Speaker 8: did not exist five years ago, and you're telling me
- 1:08:10Speaker 8: it's the best qualified, most efficient, best priced deal out there.
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: Way, just do a record's request.
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: No, but Scott, it's an emergency situation, so the governor
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: doesn't have to open up to bids. He can just
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: spend on with whom he pleases. Correct, that is correct,
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: That is correct.
- 1:08:29Speaker 8: He just is supposed to show all the show all
- 1:08:31Speaker 8: his PaperWorks as they as you had to do back
- 1:08:34Speaker 8: in grades.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:34Speaker 8: Right, that missed me about our roads here, all right,
- 1:08:38Speaker 8: come back to that, Scott, some of the brick streets,
- 1:08:44Speaker 8: and I don't need to mission any cities by name.
- 1:08:46Speaker 8: The winter park man sometimes are meant to like knock
- 1:08:50Speaker 8: the muffler out from undersea.
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: See car.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: I when I lived in de Laney Park, I remember
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: when they when they replaced the streets back to the
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: old brick streets. And one of the reasons was because
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: it slowed cars down.
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: Traffic control exactly.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: You simply can't roll more than twenty twenty five without
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: rattling your your molars.
- 1:09:08Speaker 8: So give me a hump or a bump, and I
- 1:09:11Speaker 8: mean that in many CENTI.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: There we go.
- 1:09:16Speaker 8: We won't give or aroundabout any day of the week
- 1:09:20Speaker 8: the show down. But those things where those streets where
- 1:09:24Speaker 8: even if you're going ten miles an hour. I think
- 1:09:29Speaker 8: they're sponsored by a dental implant shop.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Check it could be uh, what is that portuc duty calls?
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: Maybe they're involved with it. We can't find out where
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: else they're involved, so who knows.
- 1:09:40Speaker 8: And I'll tell you the last thing I think that
- 1:09:42Speaker 8: we are rotten about, which is what you all just said.
- 1:09:45Speaker 8: It's not just construction, it's how long the insdruction projects last.
- 1:09:50Speaker 8: And it's and I can give you one spec two
- 1:09:52Speaker 8: specific examples Bumby. I don't know if you guys remember
- 1:09:55Speaker 8: this about eight years ago. It was one mile. It
- 1:09:59Speaker 8: is one mile of two lane road and it took
- 1:10:02Speaker 8: twenty months. I looked it up. They built the Empire
- 1:10:05Speaker 8: State Building in less time in nineteen freaking twenty nine
- 1:10:10Speaker 8: than it took to repave two line lanes of Bumby Avenue.
- 1:10:13Speaker 8: I mean that's way too long. And then over an
- 1:10:16Speaker 8: ivanho hell, we like lost a bar. The hammered lamb
- 1:10:19Speaker 8: just shut down because they were a year's worth of
- 1:10:22Speaker 8: construction over there. So I think they got we yeah,
- 1:10:25Speaker 8: mind numbingly.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: Slow, Yeah exactly.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: I was just reading today about a business in Tampa
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: that closed because of a stormwater project basically put them
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: out of business. You know that people can't reach your business,
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: you can't make the money, and that's.
- 1:10:37Speaker 8: Better, Buddy Dyer.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, do better, everybody, all right there he is
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: the truth Dragon, Scott Baxwell, yeah, and check them out Wednesday,
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Thursdays and Sundays in the Orlando Sentinel and of course
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: every Wednesday afternoon after four o'clock right here on Real
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Radio one O four point one.
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: Thank you, Scott, you guys have a great week.
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: Thank you too. We'll talk to you again again next week.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: What we're gonna do right now is take a quick break,
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: but we'll be right back here on Real Radio one
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: of four point one.
- 1:11:12Speaker 8: Good after morning, Colbert Caru, Man, are we lucky?
- 1:11:16Speaker 17: Yesterday we got the sultry voices of Alejandro and now
- 1:11:18Speaker 17: today we get the horny giant Angel.
- 1:11:21Speaker 9: Hell yeah, welcome angel.
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: But oh yeah, I.
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: Guess I might have really actually predicted Jimmy getting sick yesterday.
- 1:11:26Speaker 9: Whoops.
- 1:11:27Speaker 8: And have you guys heard about the cost of pie lately?
- 1:11:30Speaker 9: Reflect the pie in Jamaica's four twenty five. In the
- 1:11:32Speaker 9: Vahamas at three point thirty, and.
- 1:11:34Speaker 8: Then the Bitican Republic it's four seventy five.
- 1:11:36Speaker 9: Those are the Pie Rates of the Caribbean. Big you out.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: You laughed at that. It's awesome.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: You guys get PI rates?
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: What And I believe it is pie Day on Saturday?
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: Is it not? Yeah? National Pie Day, Martin.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: I didn't realize we had another Friday, the thirteenth coming
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: up as well.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: And then by day the next day.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: And then by day next day.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Absolutely, Welcome back to the Jim Culbert Show, Real Radio
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: one O four point one. Jim took the day off today.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: He'll be back with us again tomorrow. How a little
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: bit of a situation had to take care of it home,
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: but we'll let him explain that tomorrow. As you hear,
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: you've got deb and Jack and our special guest co
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: host today, the Angel.
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: Of Boom and thank goodness Angels here because this whole
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: thing could have been Angel giving Angel the opportunity to
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: save our lives. Because Angel saw a giant, a giant
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: danger due outside today and documented it that I parked near.
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, and he sent it to me. The first
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: thing I did was posted on social media.
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: Of course, because that's what we're supposed to do.
- 1:12:48Speaker 9: Come it.
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: Two hours later I sent it to building management.
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: And he was like, hey, we probably should send that.
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: We should on someone and this is either do we
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: know it's wasped.
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: For bees or what I think it's bees?
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: Okay, there's a giant that big.
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: Oh you want to wait, wait till you see it
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: in real life.
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: I'm parked next to it.
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's at there, and it's a tree right
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: by where we all walk walk in the parking lot.
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: I was going to say, is that I don't I
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: would never see that because I come in at night
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: or you know, it's basically nighttime and when I get
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: here after, you know, in the morning. So it was
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: today was the first time and I'm walking in and
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: it just stood out to me.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: It's like, what angels at the right height to see you?
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: It's right, we're too short exactly Why would you look up?
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Which explains why I, you know, parked right next to it.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: Grab my bag and my oh there, I say bag,
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: big beg sorry, grab my stuff. Walking in and Angel
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: is like, hey, this is about twenty feet from your car.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: Just the heads up, heads up.
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: I don't know what you I don't think you can
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: remove bees like that though, if they're outside whatever.
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: According to Instagram, you can there's some lady that does
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: it all the time.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: It's sprayed with smoke or something, and you collect them
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: seeing it on TV. So come on, you guys, don't
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: be mean to the bees. No one's being mean. We're
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: just moving them.
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: Want to put them in a safer place for them.
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: Oh okay, it's all that they can thrive and continue
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: to pollinate.
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: There you have it, yeah, exactly, get away from the humans.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: Have you ever been stung?
- 1:14:20Speaker 9: Oh?
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: Yeah, oh really?
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: Yeah that's a kid. Yeah, because you're an idiot when
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: you're a kid and you're like, hey, what are the
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: you know, what does this do when you mess with them?
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: You knows wasps and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: What about you, Jack, You ever have like a traumatic
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: stinging experience?
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: Yes?
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: Twice I did? Yes, Oh really pride both times. Uh
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: one was last year.
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: Wait, someone just said, hey, I'm a bee keeper, send
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: me a pick of the hype. No, go to our
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: instagram at real Radio one O four one.
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: See exactly there the video is, guys, we need the
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: views here. Okay, let's be honest.
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: So when I was a little kid, I was I
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: remember walking to my friend's house and I got stung in.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: The oh, yeah, that hurt.
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: I bet I read home crying and then I'm like
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: And then I was like, next time, if I get
- 1:15:06Speaker 5: sung again, I'm not going to cry. And then I
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: got stung again, but the and it was in my forearm,
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: but the the stinger stayed there, and just seeing the
- 1:15:14Speaker 5: stinger stuck in my arm freaked me out.
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: So I cried again.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: Have you ever seen the stinger like pulsate? Yep, as
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: it's injecting the angel Angel good lord if you if.
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: You need to leave early today, we understand.
- 1:15:32Speaker 4: Dang.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: Probably my most traumatic didn't actually happen to me. It
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: happened to my younger brother. We were living up in
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: Green Bay and we had these poplar trees and like
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: a tree well, right, so the tree is a little
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: bit planted, a little bit like two to three feet
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: deeper than the lawn around it.
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: Oka.
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: Oh, you get a lot of leaf debris in there,
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: and you don't really see what's going on. Well, my
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: nine year old brother is out there fighting pirates with
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: the wood stick and sticks it in the tree well
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: and starts to beat the pile of leaves. When you
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: see the swarm of hornets rise up out of the
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: leaves and all you can see is this screaming little
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: white boy.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Just run into the house. Just open the door, Open
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: the door.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: We didn't want to open the door because they were
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: literally all on them.
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: The trauma even better. We had to beat the hornets
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: off of them.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: So yeah, we ended up having to let him back inside,
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: but he got stung all over.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: But that's one of the I've heard that here, like
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: in Florida with surveyors when they have to go in
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: survey like those wild land areas, you know, the areas
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: that kind of still exist. That that's one of the
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: big worries is like you can step on a nest
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: of yellow jackets and have no idea and they will
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: light your ass up.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: I'm concerned. Did you see this Texas, because this person's
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: texting in jack If the nest looks like paper, it's
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: yellow jacket nests, very aggressive wasps, so like it's got
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: that funny shape to it.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: It does.
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: Yeah, it looks like an old what do you call
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: that wine sack or something like this, like a.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: But if it's in a tree, it may be in
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: the ground. But if it looks like one of those
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: round dish nests at all. It's definitely yellow jacket wasps
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: and beware. All right, well then you know, Jack, it
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: is due diligence, making sure that management, but don't kill
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: the bees.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Yeah. I texted it to rock El. I'm like, check
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: this out on angel killing the planet one insect at
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: a time. Absolutely.
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: All right, Well, what we're going to do now is
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: take a quick break. I wanted to ask you guys
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: a question. So this news story came out today, but
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: what a cure for cancer would mean for us economically?
- 1:17:52Speaker 5: You mean all the the oh right, well okay, so
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: if they cured cancer, how much would that say.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: How much would that get to the What kind of
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: an economic windfall as a country could we expect to
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: see if there was finally a literal cure for cancer.
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: Without having to spend all that money treating.
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: Oh got it, okay, treatment exactly.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: So we're going to give you an opportunity while we
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: take a short break to come up with how much
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: of an economic windfall you think the United States would
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: be able to enjoy if.
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: We found the cure for cancer.
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: And we're going to talk about that next, So keep
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: it here on The Jim Colbert Show on real Radio
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: one of four point one.
- 1:18:34Speaker 24: I got stung by a hornet one time. Hornet's not
- 1:18:38Speaker 24: a bee or a wasp, it's a huge wasp. I
- 1:18:42Speaker 24: got stung on the finger. That was twenty eight years ago.
- 1:18:47Speaker 24: I'm still doing IV treatment. I've lost all the use
- 1:18:51Speaker 24: not all the use, but most of the use of
- 1:18:54Speaker 24: my hands used to play music. I can't even tie
- 1:18:57Speaker 24: my shoes. Now, what a deal. You' all have a
- 1:19:00Speaker 24: good day.
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: Whoa damn?
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: That has to be from an allergic reaction. I would guess,
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: Oh that poor guying the house.
- 1:19:16Speaker 25: Okay, this insect thing. First off, brother, did you see
- 1:19:19Speaker 25: a visible nest or did you just see a congregation
- 1:19:23Speaker 25: of swarming bees? That's what you're saying, because what bees
- 1:19:25Speaker 25: will do is they will swarm on a tree limb
- 1:19:28Speaker 25: like that to protect the queen. It's only temporary death.
- 1:19:32Speaker 25: They won't not fly at you. We're only protecting the
- 1:19:35Speaker 25: queen while they find a new home. We need all
- 1:19:37Speaker 25: the bees we can get to be cool.
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: Aloha, thank you, brother man.
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: I agree with this guy, but I felt like there
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: was a like, it feels like there's something substantial there
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: the nest. Yeah, I didn't see my favorite.
- 1:19:55Speaker 23: Sarah on the topic of bees and loft, I have
- 1:19:58Speaker 23: never ever, ever been stung. I promise you that these
- 1:20:01Speaker 23: eave and loss have a meeting every spring when they
- 1:20:04Speaker 23: come out of hibernation. They're like, hey, guys, we've got
- 1:20:06Speaker 23: to get her. This is our year. This is it
- 1:20:09Speaker 23: that we're going to get her and knock on wood,
- 1:20:12Speaker 23: it hasn't happened yet, so.
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: By good luck, Sarah. We hope you make it through.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: The struggle is real. She's convinced they're determined to get her. Exactly,
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: there's a meeting they're watching. They're watching.
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: Anymore Jack, Yeah, but all on a sundry to different topics.
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, Well listen, you know we always welcome your talkbacks.
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: You can send it on any topic.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: As Jimmy always says, it doesn't have to be on
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: the topic we may be on. We welcome to hear
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: what you have to say at any time. Just like
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: Sarah telling us about hornets, wasps and bees having a
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: meeting every spring about.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: All right, we're going to get her this year.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: Like I said, welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: The Jim part will be back tomorrow. You've got deb
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: Jack and our special guest co host today, the Angel
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: of Boom from The Monsters. Thank you, guys, thank you
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: so much for joining us. Angel careful. All right, so
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: before the break, Jack, Yeah, I'm very happy. I brought
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: a ham sandwich. Actually not used to caffeine, like you said.
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: Yeah, at this late in the afternoon, and so that
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: caffeke on Lecha at three o'clock, Oh buddy, I am.
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: I am zooming nice.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: And of course the concern is, yeah, exactly, because what
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: time do you wake up to come to work here?
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: I get up at three four?
- 1:21:32Speaker 20: Yep.
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: Nice, Yeah, man, I was. I picked up my lunch.
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: I had to get lunch on the way and I
- 1:21:37Speaker 5: went into a Cuban place and I got a Cuban
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: sandwich and the guy next to me after I ordered,
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: he ordered a cafe on Lenche.
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, I should have got one of those,
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: one of those.
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: I know they are really really good but really really strong.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: So yeah, hopefully you're going to be able to fall
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: asleep tonight me tequila.
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: Hey, if it worked for Judy Garland right Uppers in
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: the morning, Downers in the evening.
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: My hero exactly.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: All right, before the break, there's a lot of people's heroes. Actually,
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: so before break, we had talked about what a cure
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: for cancer would mean for the US economy, what kind
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: of an economic windfall from reduced to depths, to greater
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: participation in the workforce, to greater tax revenue, all of
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: those things we lose when we lose someone to cancer.
- 1:22:30Speaker 5: I didn't even think about those, you know, just more
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: people being able to work exactly the tax. I was
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: just thinking of the treatment the industry than ecology industry,
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: of the treatment of cancer, but all of those benefits.
- 1:22:46Speaker 5: I'm guessing I'm going big. I'm going in so big
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: a trillion dollars.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: That is cute. Oh my, that is much higher. Angel Ciosa, Let's.
- 1:22:56Speaker 4: Go twenty trillion dollars.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: Oh you're even cuter.
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: Wow, I thought that was solid.
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: Let's give you another chance.
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: Jack, quadrillion is too big. I'm going to go one
- 1:23:08Speaker 5: hundred trillion.
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: I'm going to go one hundred trillion and one.
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: I still respect that move, I know, don't you.
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: You created a jet That's why we call it being shot.
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: Actually did you really? Did you really? Actually?
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: It would be one hundred eighty five trillion dollars. Damn Yeah,
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: they're saying, if we could have that kind of money,
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: it would pay for our deficit, our national deficit.
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: How many more wars we could start?
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, right, everybody, everybody.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: But yeah, that is some that's some impressive, impressive numbers, right,
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: because researchers are saying, between twenty thirty and twenty sixty four,
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: Reacher researchers project that roughly this many Americans, just Americans,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: will die from cancer under the current trajectory. So in
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: thirty four years, how many people do you think, researchers
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: projector are roughly.
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: Going to die from cancer? And again that would be Americans.
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: We're gonna go first, Yeah, since I jamed the upper
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: my Hosbrook, Sure all right, seventy five million.
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: Oh my, over twenty four years thirty from twenty thirty
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: to twenty sixty four.
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: That's a lot.
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: That was high, a lot.
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna go see me help the show
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: out here. Yeah, thank you.
- 1:24:30Speaker 5: I'm going to go twenty thirty million.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: Thirty point seven million, oh so close to the dong
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: jack Wait a second.
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: Get that away.
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: The uh so, of course that's not just a profound
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: loss of human life, right, but that's a lot of
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: workers from the workforce. That's your taxes. That's that's just
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: a lot of loss from the economy, a lot of tragedy,
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: a lot of tragedy. It actually translates. So let's see
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: estimate cancer mortality would generate one hundred and eighty five
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: trillion and total economic benefits over thirty five years. So
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: if we could find a cure for cancer, even if
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: we couldn't find like quote unquote the cure for all
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: of cancer, but just maybe some of it, like eighty
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: percent of it, it would still mean a huge amount
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: of money for the US economy. But of course we
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: all believe, like especially when you see on social media, right.
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: The money's in not having the cure.
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: Right because you can't make money off of healthy people.
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: I can't believe it. I can't be that cynical to
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: think that that would delay a cure because of the
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: industry built on treating it.
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: I know, I know.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: But at the same time, it kind of feels like medicine.
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: It kind of feels that way now, doesn't it. It kind
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: of feels like we talk about it, like when you
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: go to the vet, it always feels like you're being
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: upcharged or upsold. Hey you need this test, Hey you
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: need that screening. It kind of feels that way. I
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: miss the days of having a dentist you you went
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: to for twenty years, and you're kids ended up going to. Right, Yeah,
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: that family are being bought out, are being bought out
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: the cor exactly, just like a lot of your small
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: HVAC hvac. You know, you've got these hedge funds coming
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: in and buying these small electrical companies and these small
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: you know, I like the idea, and I know a
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: la carte medicine is becoming a new and big thing,
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: but who the hell can afford a la carte medicine.
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: There's a book called Outlive, and it's about the the
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: science of longevity. It's being able to be more active
- 1:26:31Speaker 5: in those later years.
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: But really the.
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: Underlying thesis in it talks about how the modern and
- 1:26:38Speaker 5: the reason the doctor in it kind of left practicing
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: medicine to kind of working in this field is because
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: we were always just treating the symptoms, right, treating, and
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: then it's an industry built on treating systems, not curing
- 1:26:53Speaker 5: people of the problem. Because you kind of have to
- 1:26:56Speaker 5: get a little more basic and go to the root
- 1:26:58Speaker 5: of the cause to be able to do that. It's
- 1:27:01Speaker 5: an interesting book. It was the best seller book. The
- 1:27:04Speaker 5: author has since gotten into some trouble.
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: Really.
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: Yeah, his name is Peter Attia, doctor Peter Atia.
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: He was sound.
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: Familiar, Yeah, it does. Wrote the book Outlive, right, he
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: was a special correspondent for CBS News. But also the
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: name I believe appeared in the Epstein files.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: Ah, yes, yes, that guy.
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: And so he got bounced from CBS News.
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: But did yet.
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: The book Outlive is a best seller, and I know
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: a lot of people have read it. I read part
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: of it and then never finished because I don't finish
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: most of the books.
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: That's a me thing, not a book thing.
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: Well, it's funny you talk about the root of the
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: problem because I always think of that paradox that people
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: talk about, right, Like in ancient at times, it was
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: eat this root, it will help you feel better. Then
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: in modern times it was don't take that route, eat
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: take this pill, this will make you feel better. And
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: now we've gone back to take the route, not the pill,
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: you'll feel better. Yeah, yeah, exactly so. And it's interesting
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: that Asia he was a really successful health influencer.
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: As well, Right, yeah.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: I remember when his name got caught up in the
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: Epstein files, a lot of people saying, oh, man, I
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: followed him and his advice very disappointing.
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: Well, his health advice might still do the guy or.
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: See that's unfortunate. Yeah, yeah, it really is. It really is.
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: But I mean that that's I mean, you see it
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: all over social media where people like I think about it.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: When we were kids, what's the one lawn pest your
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: dad couldn't wait to put pesticides on. This isn't a bug,
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: this would be a plant. And now you see this
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: plant there, there you go, And now they're like, oh,
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: for cardiac health, you definitely want to make a tea
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: out of this. You want to steep this, you want
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: to you know, dandelion root is good for this and
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: good for that. And all I can think is, for
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: thirty years I grew up thinking it was the menace
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: to every lawn in America.
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: It turns out maybe not.
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: Actually caust cancer. Yes, I'm killed. I mean, there's a
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: class actual monsters for those.
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: And not only that, they're saying that we could be
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: the last generation to maybe see fireflies because they're disappearing
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: because of pesticide use.
- 1:29:18Speaker 4: So that's a bummer.
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: I know, Hey, call me Debbie Downer for nothing. All right,
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: we have a bit of a connuntry.
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: They all right to me, Angel, you don't want to
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: look me in the eye.
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: Nope, you sure just turn a lit left, Yeah.
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: You do, Yeah you do.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: All right, Well, we're gonna use that as the springboard. Gentlemen,
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: we got a very very interesting text message, and we're
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: going to need your help on this. Angel, you said
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: you have some thoughts on this yourself.
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: Thoughts, strong opinions, advice.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: The person who texted us earlier at seven seven zero
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: three one wanting our advice about something that your wife
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: is looking to sell on the internet.
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: You'd call it a hustle or a side job, right,
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: I think hustle would.
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: Definitely that's a hustle.
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: That's not hustle exactly. That's a hustle. I think that
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: would fit the very definition.
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: But we want to get your opinion as well, and
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: we're going to do that next to keep it right
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: here on the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio. One
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: of four point one.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: Still to come, we find out what's in the good
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: Sauce with Ross Pageant Today It's six on the Jim
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: Colbert Show.
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: What's up, Y'all's Concrete Mike.
- 1:30:50Speaker 10: So, today, sitting in traffic heading from Creightonton area going
- 1:30:56Speaker 10: back towards Tampa, bad reck.
- 1:30:59Speaker 8: Everybody stopped, and.
- 1:31:01Speaker 10: This guy thought he was just going to drive down
- 1:31:03Speaker 10: a shoulder and get by everybody. I blocked his.
- 1:31:06Speaker 9: Car off with my truck.
- 1:31:07Speaker 10: I lane split the shoulder and he decided he was
- 1:31:10Speaker 10: going to get out of his car and walk up
- 1:31:12Speaker 10: to my truck. As soon as he saw my pistol,
- 1:31:15Speaker 10: he turned around and walk back.
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: That's hard a up, Concrete, Mike. You gotta be careful
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: of that. I know, Wait, which part brandishing a weapon? Yeah?
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: I mean because you don't know what that other. Thankfully
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: that other person was an angel for it.
- 1:31:39Speaker 5: It can't be both. I know someone who got in
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: trouble for brandishing a weapon.
- 1:31:47Speaker 4: YEA said it was. It was honest hip and the
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: person just happened to notice that.
- 1:31:51Speaker 5: That might be the case.
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: I believe them.
- 1:31:53Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: I was gonna say, Concrete, Mike, you know who your
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: ride or die is?
- 1:32:00Speaker 5: By the way, Concrete Mike also texts it and he's
- 1:32:02Speaker 5: he's used duty calls on a construction site before he
- 1:32:06Speaker 5: has going back to the Scott Maxwell conversation.
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: Well, I'm still going to give you points for the
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: name duty calls that or call of duty.
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: Huh huh. I canpy right on this.
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Culbert Show, Real Radio one
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: oh four point one. Jim will be back with us tomorrow.
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: But as you hear our special guest co host today,
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: Angel from the Monsters, thank you so much. Absolutely appreciate
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: you doing double duty today.
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: I always appreciate being able to hang out with you guys.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: Anytime someone's alarm goes off at three forty five and
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: they're sitting here at five twenty three, you can't help
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: it say thank you, thanks, because there's other things you
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: could have told you.
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: If Angel will be here at the next five twenty three,
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: yes he will, Yes, he will, absolutely all right.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: We had mentioned before the break that we have a
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: little bit of an interesting situation. You know, we always
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: invite you guys to text us leave talk about anything,
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: what's going on in your lives. What we're talking about.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: You can text us at seven seven zero three one.
- 1:33:06Speaker 5: Yes, Jack, this one came into you, it says Deborah. Yes,
- 1:33:10Speaker 5: I was going to wait to ask this question with
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: Jimmy there, but since you're running the show today, it's
- 1:33:15Speaker 5: probably a good question to ask you.
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: Oh that hurts?
- 1:33:19Speaker 5: They right, Their wife's looking to get into selling her
- 1:33:22Speaker 5: underwear on the internet and they could bring in a
- 1:33:26Speaker 5: lot more money.
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: Should I be okay with it or not okay?
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: Interesting conundrum? Angel can barely contain himself, I thought his, Uh,
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: the interesting part of that was should I be okay
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: with it? Which tells me this person is not okay
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: with it?
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:33:47Speaker 4: Right, that's the tell.
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: That's the tower. That's the tell.
- 1:33:50Speaker 13: Right.
- 1:33:50Speaker 5: If you're okay with it, then there's no dilemma exactly.
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: Then the dilemma is is does this make me skivie?
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: Or what are our neighbors going to say?
- 1:33:58Speaker 5: Or there's well some form of guilt or concern, worry
- 1:34:03Speaker 5: or judgment that they are holding on to that you know,
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: it looks like he wants to be talking to saying oh,
- 1:34:11Speaker 5: it's okay, but he's afraid of other people. What like
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: what if so and so found out?
- 1:34:17Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:34:17Speaker 5: What if fill in the blank found out.
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: What if someone you know, fill in the blank bought
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: a pair? Ah, that's it makes gifting Christmas time easy again.
- 1:34:28Speaker 5: But I think it really matters to how you sell it,
- 1:34:31Speaker 5: and is because is your picture associated with do they
- 1:34:36Speaker 5: know it's you?
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:34:38Speaker 5: Is it anonymous? Or is it Deborah Roberts. Wait a second,
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: here was a picture of Deborah Roberts. Okay, I like
- 1:34:45Speaker 5: the way you're leaning into the sale. But no, we're
- 1:34:47Speaker 5: not putting that as real radio merch.
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: Angel.
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: No, if we buy it, you just wear it like
- 1:34:53Speaker 5: one day.
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: Each one you wear one day and then we how
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: about we do it as a show.
- 1:35:00Speaker 4: All right? Oh, that's gonna smell interesting. You pay what
- 1:35:04Speaker 4: everyone take a turn with the same pair. Oh that's
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: what I thought. Oh and im and I'm the deranged one.
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: I was individuals bags steal the sentence. Uh, you said
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: a date. You both sound like you have experience with this.
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: I'm imagining how it could work.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: Angel, So I know they do have vending machines like
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: I've heard about in Japan.
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: I actually pulled up a website to show you that,
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: because there's always been an urban tail about that. But
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: that's what the website, or that's what the vending machine
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: looks like. That's how they're sold.
- 1:35:44Speaker 3: Wow, it's like a coke can. Are they used? Because
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: I always heard.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: So that's so that's what like the they're not then,
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: I mean if you just need a clean player drawers.
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the urban kind of myth or tale that
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: they say with in Japan through those machines right right now.
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: There's other win women that have made considerat considerable amounts
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: of money, uh doing that and they go through different
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: Now let's say websites right only fans, all right, and
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: they can and they do that without showing their faces
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: or anything like that. It's the same way that they
- 1:36:15Speaker 4: you know, Uh, there's women that go on only fans
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: and only show their feet and they're pulling down twelve
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: K a month just showing their feet. You know. There's
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: so what I what it sounds like with him is
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: that she's really entertaining this idea. He's concerned about either
- 1:36:31Speaker 4: being found out or judged, and I think he's over
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: or maybe.
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: Just sharing his woman's you know what strangers.
- 1:36:38Speaker 4: But as soon as soon as it goes out in
- 1:36:39Speaker 4: the mailbox, you don't know. Meanwhile, meanwhile, you're paying bills,
- 1:36:46Speaker 4: get a cool car.
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: We'll get those panties off again in the.
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: Mail you know, dudes are freaks. They will pay top
- 1:36:54Speaker 4: dollar for that.
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: It's okay, So there was there's a woman in I
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: believe it's England.
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: Okay. So Jack has it up on the YouTube.
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: So if you're watching our YouTube a channel right now,
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: says gentlemen. So I'm guessing okay, I don't.
- 1:37:11Speaker 5: No, I think you're trying to. It's saying, hey, gentlemen,
- 1:37:14Speaker 5: come look over here, right, yeah, to buy your women's underwear.
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: Jack. You're not going to answer, Jack.
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not going to answer.
- 1:37:26Speaker 4: What.
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: Well, how would you feel if you were if your
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: wife wanted to do something like that, I think you'd
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: be against it until you probably heard the numbers that
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: Angel was talking about. That the woman who is throwing
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: down the pictures of her feet, how much she's making.
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: Is it anonymous?
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: And what's the problem.
- 1:37:42Speaker 4: Yeah, you could do. I mean it all depends on
- 1:37:45Speaker 4: what woman is comfortable doing. There are women that do it,
- 1:37:48Speaker 4: and you know, it's a couple picks neck down, kind
- 1:37:52Speaker 4: of sexy picks, nothing too really revealing, and then you
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: offer up the service and then there's a different price
- 1:37:57Speaker 4: point for like have they been worn at the gym?
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: There's a I wore, They've worn them all day at
- 1:38:04Speaker 4: the office. There's like all these different things, and there's
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: different price points for those. You're you're doing the whole
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: transaction and everything through like uh, let's say, you know,
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: for example, let's say OnlyFans or whatever, so no one's
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: ever finding out your you know, your actual address or
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: or where you live or any of that kind of stuff.
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: So you kind of protect yourself that way.
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: Isn't that what Ashley Madison told everyone that used their website. Yes,
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: don't worry, it's fully protected. Someone just texted us at
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one, I have used panties from Japan.
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: They have a polaroid picture of the girl wearing them
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: with it. Never opened it, it's just sitting on a shelf,
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: a right chicken. Uh yeah. Somebody just said we should
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: test this out. Deb sell your underwear and let's see
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: if Chris is okay, I'll make the first purchase. Yeah,
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: let me go. Let me help you out with that new.
- 1:39:03Speaker 5: And someone else says, how would it be anonymous if
- 1:39:05Speaker 5: it's on their only fans you see pictures of it.
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: You don't have to do that.
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: I mean, plus, here's the mailing andre.
- 1:39:11Speaker 5: Your only fans can be whatever you make it, what
- 1:39:13Speaker 5: you want to.
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: Be, okay.
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: Also, the one who has the used panties from Japan,
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: that's a that's a girl that did that, all right.
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: I knew that was going to get your interest.
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: Age's over there checking out to see where the phone
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: number came from.
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: How would you feel, though, Ross Jack?
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: How would you feel if I mean, I can't imagine
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: you'd be okay with that, with what with your wife
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: selling your panties.
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: So we already answered this question. You asked if it
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: was anonymous, and then I said, what's wrong with that?
- 1:39:46Speaker 5: If it's anonymous, there's no problem.
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: Oh it's the creepy old man.
- 1:39:52Speaker 4: Laugh.
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: Afterwards, somebody else texted, how do you think this guy's well,
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: how do you think this would sell?
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: Guys? How about men's underwear?
- 1:40:00Speaker 4: I don't know what was the market for that. Oh
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: I guess other dudes?
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: Yeah, Oh yeah, I guess that's a good point. I
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: was going to say for the women, it's just called
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: laundry day.
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: I don't even think that.
- 1:40:13Speaker 5: I don't think anyone wants any other guys under.
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: And somebody said they're called your panties. Oh.
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: Also, someone else texted us at seven seven zero three one.
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: And this is why we take these questions to you,
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: because I've always said we truly have the smartest audience
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: in all of talk radio. A friend of mine sold
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: his underwear online, still doesn't regret it.
- 1:40:36Speaker 4: So dudes are doing this?
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: Was that friend of male or female?
- 1:40:40Speaker 4: We said, a friend of mine sold his?
- 1:40:43Speaker 9: Oh?
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: Okay, sold his How about that? I guess there is
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: a market?
- 1:40:47Speaker 4: H yeah?
- 1:40:49Speaker 6: No?
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: And then then come the text messages that you just
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: can't read.
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: Nope, right, you guys are savages.
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: Are they? They're beasts? Angel I know. Are you an
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: emoji user?
- 1:41:03Speaker 4: No, I'm not good at that. I try to.
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: Uh, that's such a dude thing, isn't it that you
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: guys don't use emoji?
- 1:41:09Speaker 16: Nah?
- 1:41:09Speaker 4: And because and Jack's heard this argument before, and it's
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: been it's it's become a thing on the other show
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: that I'm one of the monsters. Right, So for example,
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: and again this is a me thing. I'm not putting
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: this on anybody else the terms that I'm learning that
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: that's anything. It took me the longest time for me
- 1:41:26Speaker 4: not to interpret the thumbs up emoji as an f.
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: You whoa whoa whoa?
- 1:41:31Speaker 9: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: Wait a minute, do you not realize that that man
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: sitting across the boss of the radio station, the program director.
- 1:41:40Speaker 5: The most common emoji I use is the thumbs up.
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: So I'm tiring you said.
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: Every day that he's texting you an emoji.
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: For a while, and you know, this is probably part
- 1:41:50Speaker 4: of the reason why Angel, You've got to communicate with
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: me better, right and so so for the longest time.
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: And I'm not the only one. There's other people that
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: felt this way. I always interpreted. Look, I don't take
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: compliments well and I always will think that that emoji.
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: So when it's Jack and I'm in there, like Jack
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: text me, gives me the thumbs up, I'm talking to myself.
- 1:42:11Speaker 4: It's like, Okay, you gotta respond word respond. He's actually
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: being cool, Bro's letting him know that you got the message.
- 1:42:17Speaker 4: This is a cool text. Man. I'll take it that way.
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: I am coaching myself through my reply to Jack.
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: It as the.
- 1:42:27Speaker 5: People he communicates most that used the thumbs up the
- 1:42:31Speaker 5: most are two of the big biggest passive aggressive people
- 1:42:36Speaker 5: that he communicates with.
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: That's me and Russ Rawlins.
- 1:42:41Speaker 5: So I can't understand, but I don't think I've ever
- 1:42:45Speaker 5: used a thumbs up emoji in a passive aggressive manner.
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: No, it's just it's it's the it's the easiest way
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: for Jack to just say got it.
- 1:42:53Speaker 26: Acknowledge, acknowledge I've been coached, because we have other people
- 1:42:58Speaker 26: right homes that will just not respond saying well, I
- 1:43:02Speaker 26: got it, so I saw it.
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: Because we have so many people that we send text.
- 1:43:08Speaker 5: Messages toy, they either don't see it, don't acknowledge it,
- 1:43:13Speaker 5: don't consume the information. If I could tell you how
- 1:43:16Speaker 5: many times I heard something on.
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: This radio station that was already sent in an email
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: in a correct form, yet you just hear the wrong
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: information later. Oh my god, didn't get a thumbs up
- 1:43:28Speaker 3: on that one? Is that your shot?
- 1:43:30Speaker 4: It's our show? Oh yeah, because we get those texts.
- 1:43:34Speaker 5: That's why that text office is like, oh, by the way,
- 1:43:36Speaker 5: I sent this in an email. Here it is again,
- 1:43:39Speaker 5: just in case you need it, and and.
- 1:43:43Speaker 4: Oh, jac you'll love this even more when when off
- 1:43:46Speaker 4: air we get into the arguments and I'm like, yo,
- 1:43:49Speaker 4: he sent that in an email. I didn't get it.
- 1:43:51Speaker 4: Neither did I. And then during that career, if you
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: could hear what went out in that commercial break you
- 1:43:56Speaker 4: would want to argue with us. Oh, there it is.
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: I did not realize you had such a relationship with
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: the emojis.
- 1:44:05Speaker 4: I'm bad. I try, I'm trying.
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: Well, they have new ones now, right, I do have
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: new ones.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: Jack, You're not much of it, well outside of the thumb,
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: which you know in your and your defense, Angel, I
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: believe it's Germany that if you hitchhike with your thumb
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: up like the way that we hitchhike here in the States.
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: I believe in some countries and cultures, that means up
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: your hand. Okay, yeah, so in your sense, you know,
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: you kind of have right there.
- 1:44:29Speaker 3: All right, So the.
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: New ones coming out in twenty twenty six. This is
- 1:44:33Speaker 2: going to be with the iOS twenty six point four updates.
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: So this is going to be coming. Actually it might
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: be in the next couple of days. So we have
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: a landslide. It's good to commemorate natural disasters.
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: Right, that's the last you apply.
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: Don't It's on our street. I have it on our
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: YouTube peech.
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: Oh thank you, Jack, Yeah, if you want to see.
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: So the new emojis rocks, yeah yeah, yeah, But I mean,
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: who needs a landslide. Right now, we're starting to categorize
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: their natural disasters with our emojis.
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: You also have here's an emoji in my favorite Fleetwood
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: Mac song.
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: Who's Fleetwood Mac? Also the trombone Treasure chat.
- 1:45:10Speaker 4: It's going to go bad.
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:45:12Speaker 2: The one that's going bad is the distorted face. If
- 1:45:16Speaker 2: you remember back distorted face, I think it was in
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: twenty twenty four.
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: It was used.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: In an iPad crush ad and Apple actually had to
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: come out and apologize.
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: It's twenty twenty six. We're apologizing for everything because it
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: says distorted. I think it's because of them crushing the face. Well,
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: the one that looks in there. It just got like
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: weird white eye. Yeah, exact guys, but just far apart.
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: So now we are also going to have a ballet
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: dancer and orca a fight cloud.
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: We gotta you gotta fight the hairy creature that one too.
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: I like the hairy creature. We got the sasquatch.
- 1:45:55Speaker 4: So I just see a lot of eggplant and trombone
- 1:45:57Speaker 4: being sent to people.
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you. That's the only use for the
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: landslide too. Oh boy, I want to know why is good?
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: I do like the fight cloud.
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: That one's not bad. They send a text and to
- 1:46:17Speaker 5: pisches you off. You send them that thing back.
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: So great.
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: You don't want to traumatize Angel anymore than your thumbs
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: up is done. If you could come up with an emoji,
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: what would be your for me? The dream emoji is
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: the middle finger?
- 1:46:29Speaker 4: So no, that's the best one is don't.
- 1:46:31Speaker 3: You think the best one would be the middle finger?
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: That's not there?
- 1:46:35Speaker 4: Angel? No one saw Angel.
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: There is no middle finger. I just looked it up.
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: I thought for sure there was.
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: No there is.
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it might not be through the actual providers. I
- 1:46:52Speaker 4: got to go to a secondary marketing.
- 1:46:54Speaker 20: I did.
- 1:46:56Speaker 3: I need the middle finger emoji? What emoji? Would you?
- 1:46:59Speaker 4: Well?
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: You already what I like is that the hands up?
- 1:47:02Speaker 17: Oh?
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: Those?
- 1:47:03Speaker 4: Did you?
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: Did you know that the ones that we have been
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: thinking for the whole time we're praying hands that those
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: are supposed to be clapping hands.
- 1:47:11Speaker 4: Now thought that was a prayer.
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: That's we've always thought it was a prayer. Now, yes,
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: now it is a prayer.
- 1:47:17Speaker 5: But at first that was supposed to be a high five.
- 1:47:20Speaker 4: Execution on their parted.
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: Stupid right up there with the distorted face, Jack, what
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: if you could come up with any emoji, what would
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: you do.
- 1:47:29Speaker 4: Real quick before you answered Jack, Yeah, the middle finger
- 1:47:31Speaker 4: works because we're getting it all in textings.
- 1:47:36Speaker 3: I love our audience, man, let me check out.
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: Tons of them.
- 1:47:42Speaker 3: Wow, okay, awesome. And then you got a brown one.
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: I was just about to say even an appropriate flesh colors.
- 1:47:49Speaker 3: Now I was using a brown thumbs up and then.
- 1:47:54Speaker 5: Jack and I didn't think there was anything wrong with it.
- 1:48:00Speaker 3: So if it's only the tip, my god, and then
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, I'll go back the yellow.
- 1:48:10Speaker 2: Oh thanks to everyone texting us the middle finger at
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: seven seven zero three when we love you guys.
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: Most emojis ever.
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: So there you go.
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: The new emojis coming out with the iOS twenty six
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: point four update. Uh, the Fight Cloud, Trombone and Harry
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: Creature all for your iPhone pleasure?
- 1:48:28Speaker 4: What Angel Android comes with the middle finger standard? And
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: then it's a middle finger.
- 1:48:35Speaker 9: We people are.
- 1:48:36Speaker 4: Insistic though that they're both on Android and iPhone.
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: That's right. I'm gonna do some research here. But you
- 1:48:41Speaker 3: know what we need you to do.
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: We need you to load up the phones because Brad
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: has brought us some trivia and we're gonna do that
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: next right here on the Jim Culbert Show, So keep
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: it on Real Radio one oh four point one. Okay,
- 1:48:53Speaker 2: let's go back to reading the texting service?
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: Got it?

- 1:52:07Speaker 3: Kevin.
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: Four?
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: Hey, Kevin, how's it going good? How you doing?
- 1:52:12Speaker 17: Oh?
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: Fat and sassy? Would you like to play a little
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: game with us? I would love to? All right, let's
- 1:52:17Speaker 3: do with the game, all right, Kevin?
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: You know how this game is played with Jimmy and
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: with Brad. Brad is going to make a statement followed
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: by four facts. Oh but one of those facts is
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: a lie. Find the lie and we'll let you go
- 1:52:32Speaker 2: play in the jackie sack.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: Are you ready? I'm ready?
- 1:52:35Speaker 13: Yeah?
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: That sounded dirty, didn't it? All Right?
- 1:52:38Speaker 2: Here we go Kevin on this day back in nineteen
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: sixty four. Show creator Gene Roddenberry pitched the concept for
- 1:52:46Speaker 2: the original Star Trek. Here are three facts about the
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: enduring pop culture series and what fibb that boldly goes
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: or no lie has gone before?
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: Good job, Brad, Here we go. Number one.
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: Leonard Nimoy created the famous spock neck pinch during the
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: episode The Enemy Within. Number two, Lieutenant Uhura's name means
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: freedom in Swahili. Number three, the iconic line be me up,
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: Scotty was ad libbed by William Shatner or number four.
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: Knee Moy and Shatner are the only two actors to
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: appear in every episode of the original Star Trek series. Kevin,
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: which one is the lie? Let's go number two? Number
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: two is in fact a fact? Kevin? In it is
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: a fact to fact? Is nominatrix? Deb here today? What's
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: that I said? Is dominatrix? Kevin?
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: Kevin, you filthy little dog. I needs you to inink
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: like a pig please, Kevin.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: Wait, I heard a little Kevin, do it again? Do
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: it again. It's a terrible wink.
- 1:53:55Speaker 9: Kevin.
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: That's a baby pig, little pig. Hike Kevin, all right?
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: Angel who goes?
- 1:54:05Speaker 4: Next? Five let's go with three.
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: Who's the name on that? Kyle? Kyle? How you doing Kyle?
- 1:54:14Speaker 4: Good?
- 1:54:14Speaker 24: I'm on a boat.
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: Oh you're doing great? What are you talking about? Thanks
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: for rubbing it in, Kyle, No prize for you, No listen,
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: We're just jealous.
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: Here are your three remaining facts Kyle. Number one, Leonard
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: Nimoy created the famous spock neck pinch during the episode
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: The Enemy Within. Number two, the iconic line beat me
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: up Scotty was atlibbed by William Shatner or number three.
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: Nie Moy and Shatner are the only two actors to
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: appear in every episode of the original Star Trek series.
- 1:54:48Speaker 3: Which one is the lie.
- 1:54:50Speaker 9: I'm gonna go number three?
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: Number three is another fact? Kyle, I need you to
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: move like a Kyle. That's a pretty good move, Kyle.
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: Enjoy your boat by Kyle. Bye, Kyle, thanks for playing one,
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: two or five.
- 1:55:06Speaker 4: Let's go with Brian on five?
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: Brian on five, Brian, how you doing awesome?
- 1:55:11Speaker 13: I was hoping to meet Dominicer is dead.
- 1:55:15Speaker 5: Do you have a Do you have a favorite farm animal?
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: Brian? Yes, Brian, I need to know what your favorite
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: farm animal? Hey a duck?
- 1:55:21Speaker 17: Oh?
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: I like that. Okay, okay, Well he's got to get
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: it wrong.
- 1:55:24Speaker 2: That's right, and he does have a fifty to fifty chance, Brian.
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: So here you go. Here are your two choices.
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: Number one, Leonard Nimoy created the famous spock neck pinch
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: during the episode The Enemy Within or Number two, the
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: iconic line be me up, Scottie was at libbed by
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: William Shatner before you make a duck, sound, Brian, which
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: one is the lie?
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: Let's go with the second one?
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: Dead, that is actually the lie, Brian. You yay, which
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: means you don't get to meet Dominatrix.
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: Deb Oh, but you lose? Yeah, but did you win?
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: But you lose, but you win. Give me your duck anyway,
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: you duck. You hang on the line, Brian.
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: You're gonna get to go play in the checks.
- 1:56:14Speaker 3: Right, thinking on the stuff because I made a mistake.
- 1:56:16Speaker 5: I thought I didn't think Captain Kirk was in the
- 1:56:22Speaker 5: pilot episode because that was with the Captain Pike.
- 1:56:27Speaker 3: Oh I don't know, are you a treky?
- 1:56:30Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:56:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it? Are you really?
- 1:56:31Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: I watched the whole series. I'll watch him again with
- 1:56:34Speaker 5: my daughter. Was great, she got into it. It was so
- 1:56:37Speaker 5: much trunk. Oh well, I did it three.
- 1:56:38Speaker 3: Seasons, which is amazing. I mean how much longevity the
- 1:56:42Speaker 3: series has had.
- 1:56:43Speaker 5: Lucille Ball is the reason we have it today because
- 1:56:46Speaker 5: of Doesilu Productions.
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: I was wondering if anyone was going to get that.
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: That was one of the first facts that Brad had written.
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: Underneath the more fun facts was that Lucille Ball single
- 1:56:54Speaker 2: handedly kept Star Trek from cancelation during the first season
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: and that was because of what Jack would you say?
- 1:57:00Speaker 5: Well, Desilu Productions was the studio that that produced it.
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: Wow, I did not know that myself. Now really quick,
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: it turns out the lie beat me up, Scottie was
- 1:57:09Speaker 2: never said exactly in this way in the Start Trek
- 1:57:13Speaker 2: series or film. And then one last thing before we go.
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: It was originally marketed as wagon Train to the Stars,
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: after the popular Western Wagon Train. And you all know
- 1:57:26Speaker 2: that doctor Martin Luther King Junior, who happened to be
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: a big fan of the Showy according convinced Michelle Nichols
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: to stay on Nichelle Rather, Nichelle Nichols to stay on
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: the show after she submitted her resignation letter telling her
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: that her role on that show was going to be
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: life changing for so many other young black children seeing
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: a representation of themselves on one of the most popular
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: shows on television.
- 1:57:51Speaker 3: So there you have it.
- 1:57:52Speaker 2: Some fun facts on a little bit of farm Animals
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: courtesy of Brad Well, not Brad for the farm animals,
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: but for everything else. All right, keep it here you
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: can at Farm Animals. We're gonna talk to one of
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: the best. Next, we're going to talk to Ross Paget
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: and see Jack. What's coming up tonight. I'm good sauce
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: with Ross Angel. So keep it here on Real Radio
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: one of four point one.
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: We'll do that next.
- 1:58:15Speaker 4: Dude, missed an opportunity. Oh please, Dominatrix, Deb duck me harder.
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: God, I can't love you people anymore than I already do.
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: Right along with all the emoji middle fingers, they continue
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: to come in rapid fire, right Angel.
- 1:58:34Speaker 4: Yeah, it's pretty impressive.
- 1:58:35Speaker 3: Very impressive. You folks are awesome.
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Culbert Show. He'll be back
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: with us tomorrow. You've got deb Jack our special guest
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: co host today, the.
- 1:58:44Speaker 3: Angel of Boom from the Monsters in the Morning.
- 1:58:48Speaker 14: Say hi.
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: He was courting with our next guest, and of course
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: every Wednesday at this time, we like to welcome one
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: of the greatest comedians, and not just Central Florida.
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: Absolutely we all agree to that.
- 1:59:03Speaker 2: On tonight at eight o'clock with his podcast, Good Sauce
- 1:59:05Speaker 2: with Ross and Joel give it up for Ross Paget.
- 1:59:11Speaker 6: My opening joke is that not everybody was clapping. Somebody
- 1:59:16Speaker 6: was twirking looking at you, Jack making it clap Bud.
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: That as always what I knew.
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: Hey, Ross, Before we find out exactly what's going on
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: with Good Sauce tonight, we definitely want to get your opinion. Oh,
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: he just put his hands in his head, in his hands.
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: I'm sure this is no it's a sad day. It
- 1:59:34Speaker 2: is a sad day. But for those maybe who didn't hear,
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: we did break it at three o'clock the news that
- 1:59:39Speaker 2: Orlando City has parted ways with head coach Oscar Prereta,
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: who's been the head coach with the city for what.
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: Since twenty nineteen, yeah, six years.
- 1:59:47Speaker 2: Yeah, So of course we had we got Angel and
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: Jack's opinion on it, of course to other very big
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: city fans. But Ross, I mean, you're one of the
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: guys that helps do the halftime shows in the pregame entertainment.
- 1:59:59Speaker 3: What's your opinion on this?
- 2:00:02Speaker 6: First and foremost, I'll open up by going, it's a
- 2:00:05Speaker 6: sad day because that was our and still is our
- 2:00:08Speaker 6: most successful football soccer manager in our club's history. To
- 2:00:12Speaker 6: my knowledge. He brought us our first trophy. He brought
- 2:00:15Speaker 6: us to the Eastern Conference Finals. The history with that
- 2:00:19Speaker 6: manager in Orlando City will always remain. I will never
- 2:00:23Speaker 6: forget the smiles that they brought me, both of those
- 2:00:26Speaker 6: Oscar and Orlando City working together to bring me so
- 2:00:31Speaker 6: much joy on the edge.
- 2:00:32Speaker 9: Of my seat. And I'll point Blake say it. I'm
- 2:00:35Speaker 9: an optimist.
- 2:00:36Speaker 6: My glass is always half full, especially when it comes
- 2:00:39Speaker 6: to professional sports, because why are you going to be
- 2:00:41Speaker 6: a pessimist and root for something? It never makes sense
- 2:00:44Speaker 6: to me, So I will still throw this out here.
- 2:00:47Speaker 6: I am excited for whoever gets the job, but when
- 2:00:51Speaker 6: you ask me that question, I will be honest. It's
- 2:00:55Speaker 6: it was not good news when I read that on
- 2:00:57Speaker 6: my phone. I don't know what handed it they are
- 2:01:01Speaker 6: looking for. I have no idea. Like I said, I'm
- 2:01:04Speaker 6: an optimist and I'm thinking I already got some names
- 2:01:06Speaker 6: that I'm rooting for. But I also know what the
- 2:01:09Speaker 6: real world is, and sometimes you don't get the person
- 2:01:12Speaker 6: that you think that you might get. And I was
- 2:01:16Speaker 6: very happy with Oscar Pereira and for it to happen
- 2:01:20Speaker 6: after the first three games with new players with how
- 2:01:24Speaker 6: about this? If people kept asking me what's wrong with City,
- 2:01:28Speaker 6: my biggest answer to that is, our captain hasn't played
- 2:01:31Speaker 6: a single minute and hasn't been part of the team
- 2:01:34Speaker 6: for a while, dude to injury Robin Johnson, our captain,
- 2:01:38Speaker 6: our center back, our best defender, and everyone knows that
- 2:01:42Speaker 6: our defense just let in five goals, four goals and
- 2:01:46Speaker 6: two goals in those first three games. So I'm excited
- 2:01:48Speaker 6: to see who's coming up next. But if you really
- 2:01:52Speaker 6: want the nitty gritty, I was shocked.
- 2:01:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I think everyone was. I mean when I told Angel.
- 2:01:58Speaker 4: Your mind, that's how I walked into the building.
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: And then when Jack brought the news, he came running
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: into the studio and was like, I can't believe this
- 2:02:05Speaker 2: even just happened.
- 2:02:06Speaker 5: My sources tell me our next manager. His name might
- 2:02:10Speaker 5: rhyme with Jurgen Klop. I'm just saying, oh god.
- 2:02:14Speaker 6: Dude, I know, like, I'm so happy to all the
- 2:02:18Speaker 6: soccer fans that are listening. I'm so happy that even
- 2:02:21Speaker 6: that joke is a fantasy and I won't even take
- 2:02:24Speaker 6: it seriously because that won't happen. But there are some
- 2:02:28Speaker 6: really good names that are former MLS coaches that I'll
- 2:02:34Speaker 6: be honest with you, I am rooting for. I'm very,
- 2:02:37Speaker 6: very excited to see who gets the job. I'm very
- 2:02:41Speaker 6: excited and throwing this out here. I don't have any information,
- 2:02:44Speaker 6: but Adrian Heath I believe is available as well, our
- 2:02:48Speaker 6: former Orlando City coach InChI, I legit think that you
- 2:02:53Speaker 6: might he might get spoken to.
- 2:02:55Speaker 9: I have no rumors.
- 2:02:56Speaker 6: I don't want to lose my job working for Orlando
- 2:02:59Speaker 6: City saying that these facts, I just am rooting. Here
- 2:03:01Speaker 6: are the things that I'm rooting for. Adrian Heath, Wilfred Nancy.
- 2:03:06Speaker 6: There are some really good, esteemed professional that know the
- 2:03:10Speaker 6: league of MLS that can come into Orlando City and.
- 2:03:13Speaker 9: I think make it positive.
- 2:03:15Speaker 6: However, I also think we may have just let go
- 2:03:19Speaker 6: of the person that was also already doing that, and
- 2:03:21Speaker 6: that's my biggest fear.
- 2:03:23Speaker 9: I was a huge Oscar fan.
- 2:03:24Speaker 6: I know that the season wasn't great, not even good,
- 2:03:29Speaker 6: but I will sorely miss him. I kind of think
- 2:03:33Speaker 6: more time would have been needed to let these new
- 2:03:35Speaker 6: players gel. They haven't met each other yet.
- 2:03:38Speaker 2: Well, so let's get on to some happy news now, Ross,
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: because I can really see this, I know, oh, I know,
- 2:03:44Speaker 2: I mean we're almost to a milestone. But I do
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: have to say. I mean, tonight is episode ninety nine
- 2:03:50Speaker 2: of Good Sauce with Ross and Joel.
- 2:03:53Speaker 3: I mean that isn't of itself. That's a milestone, dude, And.
- 2:03:57Speaker 6: I'm pretty proud man, because not many podcasts I looked
- 2:04:00Speaker 6: it up. Man, we're like in the top two percent
- 2:04:02Speaker 6: of all total podcasts to.
- 2:04:04Speaker 9: Ever take any man.
- 2:04:06Speaker 6: That is awesome, And tonight is I'm so happy to say.
- 2:04:11Speaker 6: I know I say this a lot of the weeks,
- 2:04:12Speaker 6: but let me throw this out here. I did not
- 2:04:14Speaker 6: say this two weeks ago. This is our best episode.
- 2:04:18Speaker 6: If not, it's in our top four.
- 2:04:20Speaker 3: I want to do is go back and listen. I
- 2:04:22Speaker 3: know exactly.
- 2:04:26Speaker 6: In that episode two weeks ago. I'm not gonna I
- 2:04:28Speaker 6: super not proud of it.
- 2:04:32Speaker 21: What was that.
- 2:04:34Speaker 9: Let's talk about this week? So yeah, this week.
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: What are they going to hear? Tonight? Today o'clock, I'm
- 2:04:39Speaker 3: Good Sauce with Ross and Joel.
- 2:04:42Speaker 6: I have let me get this job titled completely correct.
- 2:04:46Speaker 6: I have a licensed mental health counselor. Tonight's episode, I
- 2:04:52Speaker 6: gotta tell you, I was looking for free therapy because
- 2:04:55Speaker 6: I want therapy, but I don't want the confrontation of
- 2:04:58Speaker 6: like driving and signing up and coming to great So
- 2:05:00Speaker 6: what I decided to do was lie to myself and go,
- 2:05:04Speaker 6: you know what, how about a podcast guest, and I
- 2:05:08Speaker 6: got some free therapy out of it.
- 2:05:10Speaker 9: It is so much powerful episode.
- 2:05:14Speaker 5: I love it so much, respect for that move so much.
- 2:05:17Speaker 6: Nice hustle right righta, hey, listen, it's it's just a podcast.
- 2:05:22Speaker 6: Her name is Amy lecourse, she was also on Tom
- 2:05:25Speaker 6: and Dan. She used to do all the therapists for
- 2:05:29Speaker 6: years and years, and then she became a mom and went,
- 2:05:32Speaker 6: I think I want to focus on being a mom.
- 2:05:34Speaker 6: And then during those years of becoming a mom and
- 2:05:36Speaker 6: getting better at that skill set, she kind of found
- 2:05:39Speaker 6: her nights being open q's stand up comedy and that's
- 2:05:43Speaker 6: how I met her Wow, through the comedy scene. But
- 2:05:46Speaker 6: she is going to be going back to her therapist
- 2:05:49Speaker 6: ways in the next couple of years once they get older.
- 2:05:52Speaker 6: And I learned a lot boy, dude, We even take
- 2:05:55Speaker 6: a quiz on tonight's episode that basically confirmed that I'm
- 2:05:59Speaker 6: not doing great.
- 2:06:06Speaker 3: Yes, exactly, give us a spell the tea.
- 2:06:09Speaker 9: Come on, I'll give you one little eastergg.
- 2:06:12Speaker 6: This might be my favorite moment of the episode is
- 2:06:15Speaker 6: that one of the things that was brought up was
- 2:06:20Speaker 6: essentially how.
- 2:06:21Speaker 9: Sneaky substance abuse can be.
- 2:06:24Speaker 6: And by everyone thinks that the alcoholic is the guy
- 2:06:27Speaker 6: with the sign on the side of the road asking
- 2:06:29Speaker 6: for cash. Sure, they all think that the drug addict
- 2:06:32Speaker 6: is over there underneath the overpass. But let me throw
- 2:06:36Speaker 6: this out here. We're all addicted to coffee, and I
- 2:06:40Speaker 6: am bad. I would smoke a coffee being if I could.
- 2:06:45Speaker 3: Angel double fingers double pointing at himself. Yeah, I'm the.
- 2:06:48Speaker 4: Guy who started this show with a nice.
- 2:06:53Speaker 6: So as we are learning about this is basically not
- 2:06:58Speaker 6: a telltale sign, but just shot, I have a telltale
- 2:07:00Speaker 6: sign that maybe there's some more mental health that could
- 2:07:04Speaker 6: be healthier is by how much coffee you drink. And
- 2:07:07Speaker 6: as she is telling us.
- 2:07:08Speaker 3: This latino, no latino in the world wants to hear
- 2:07:13Speaker 3: that coffee correlates to mental health.
- 2:07:17Speaker 9: Well, it's how much coffee?
- 2:07:19Speaker 6: And during we were being told that I have my
- 2:07:22Speaker 6: best friend.
- 2:07:23Speaker 3: Midsip on an iced.
- 2:07:25Speaker 6: Venti Americano due and then he goes, this is my
- 2:07:29Speaker 6: second one. We almost cried. There's this awesome thing that
- 2:07:39Speaker 6: we go through. It's called let me make sure I
- 2:07:41Speaker 6: don't butcher this because I want it to be good.
- 2:07:44Speaker 9: It is called the DSM. There's a book called DSM
- 2:07:48Speaker 9: and it stands.
- 2:07:49Speaker 6: For a bonch of syllables that I'm not gonna try
- 2:07:52Speaker 6: right now. And we kind of do a crash course
- 2:07:55Speaker 6: on this book DSM, which is looked at as kind
- 2:07:59Speaker 6: of like.
- 2:07:59Speaker 9: The ment Health by the Fiance Bible.
- 2:08:02Speaker 5: It's a diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders.
- 2:08:06Speaker 3: Look at you, Yeah, and dude, I read it Google.
- 2:08:12Speaker 3: I typed in DM.
- 2:08:14Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure by the end of this episode I
- 2:08:16Speaker 6: got a free smoothie because I got ten diagnoses. I'm
- 2:08:24Speaker 6: pretty proud of that joke, and I'm not gonna let
- 2:08:26Speaker 6: you guys grow too hard about it.
- 2:08:27Speaker 18: I like that.
- 2:08:31Speaker 9: But it is such a great episode.
- 2:08:33Speaker 6: If you're going through something, I would love a little PSA.
- 2:08:36Speaker 6: If you're going through something and if you think that
- 2:08:39Speaker 6: there is no one there for you, I've got great news.
- 2:08:42Speaker 9: You're wrong. There are people that are willing to help.
- 2:08:48Speaker 6: Now. Granted sometimes they're a little bit easier to find,
- 2:08:50Speaker 6: like car keys, but other times.
- 2:08:53Speaker 9: You know, like they're always there. You just have to look.
- 2:08:57Speaker 6: You don't have to do this by yourself, and just
- 2:08:59Speaker 6: the whole conversation about mental health. Really, and this is
- 2:09:03Speaker 6: the proudest thing I can say about this episode and
- 2:09:06Speaker 6: why I will tell everyone listening to me right now
- 2:09:08Speaker 6: that this is a must listen. It's a conversation about
- 2:09:12Speaker 6: mental health, and it is the opposite of sad. We
- 2:09:16Speaker 6: have such a fun time because the therapist, Amy Lecours
- 2:09:21Speaker 6: is a very fun and jovial person.
- 2:09:23Speaker 9: Well she's a stand such it's such a good listen.
- 2:09:27Speaker 6: It's it's one of our best episodes because it's funny,
- 2:09:30Speaker 6: it's interesting, it's serious.
- 2:09:32Speaker 9: It is uh. I really, I'm proud of this one.
- 2:09:36Speaker 5: The question I have is, and I don't know if
- 2:09:39Speaker 5: you had a chance to ask.
- 2:09:40Speaker 3: Her this or if it came up and today's show
- 2:09:42Speaker 3: it comes.
- 2:09:43Speaker 5: No, it's nothing. Does she joke during therapy? Like there's
- 2:09:48Speaker 5: got to be opportunities where the comedian in her wants
- 2:09:52Speaker 5: to drop a line. I'm curious if if she kind
- 2:09:54Speaker 5: of kind of suppresses or uses that.
- 2:09:59Speaker 6: You know, I I would say she picks and chooses
- 2:10:03Speaker 6: and not during any bit of the serious parts. But
- 2:10:07Speaker 6: I can't lie, dude, She's hilarious on this episode. I'm
- 2:10:11Speaker 6: hearing a therapist kick back and go like, yeah, this
- 2:10:14Speaker 6: is what you do.
- 2:10:15Speaker 9: I walk in and ask questions. You go blah blah blah.
- 2:10:18Speaker 9: I go blah blah blah blah blah.
- 2:10:20Speaker 6: And then you usually feel better because no one has
- 2:10:23Speaker 6: asked you or given you the opportunity to stay how
- 2:10:27Speaker 6: you feel vocally and outside. Sometimes they gets stuck in
- 2:10:31Speaker 6: your thoughts, and then all you need is just a
- 2:10:34Speaker 6: literally a random person that you go into the conversation
- 2:10:39Speaker 6: going we're gonna get to the good stuff. I'm not
- 2:10:41Speaker 6: saying walk up to a guy at a gas station
- 2:10:43Speaker 6: and go like my dad left me.
- 2:10:45Speaker 9: That's not gonna work. That's not gonna work.
- 2:10:48Speaker 6: But a professional who will then have the right response
- 2:10:53Speaker 6: and ask you what that means to you and how
- 2:10:56Speaker 6: can we change?
- 2:10:57Speaker 9: What are the things in our control? It is?
- 2:11:00Speaker 6: I loved tonight's episode and I'm so stupid proud of it.
- 2:11:04Speaker 6: Amy Lecour's episode ninety nine, Good Sauce with Ross and Joel.
- 2:11:08Speaker 6: I already miss Oscar Perera.
- 2:11:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that sounds like you need to bring your
- 2:11:13Speaker 2: mental health therapist back in there for your ron.
- 2:11:15Speaker 3: I've been saying since I met this cat that he
- 2:11:17Speaker 3: needs therapy right on the mind.
- 2:11:21Speaker 2: Truth is, I have met a single person yet that
- 2:11:24Speaker 2: doesn't need therapy.
- 2:11:25Speaker 6: I agree with that as well, So I will compliment
- 2:11:31Speaker 6: guys don't pay for therapy, start a podcast and ask her.
- 2:11:38Speaker 3: There exactly.
- 2:11:39Speaker 6: Yeah, I would say start off with episode ninety nine
- 2:11:42Speaker 6: because it's such a good introduction, and I will compliment
- 2:11:47Speaker 6: my best friend in the business, Joel Warren. Joel Warren
- 2:11:50Speaker 6: is the funniest person I have ever met. This is
- 2:11:53Speaker 6: the most serious and honest and vulnerable he's ever been
- 2:11:57Speaker 6: in front of a microphone on tonight's episode Cool for
- 2:12:00Speaker 6: a lot of funny people. That's a line that takes
- 2:12:04Speaker 6: a while. I would say to Cross because what happens
- 2:12:07Speaker 6: when real life becomes the entertainment instead of the jokes
- 2:12:11Speaker 6: or instead of the quick, witty people.
- 2:12:14Speaker 9: Pleasing thought, don't do it with.
- 2:12:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:12:17Speaker 9: Sorry.
- 2:12:17Speaker 6: If you're a people pleaser, this episode is perfect for you,
- 2:12:20Speaker 6: because it was perfect for me and I heard a
- 2:12:22Speaker 6: lot of things that I needed to listen to, and
- 2:12:26Speaker 6: it's all recorded. It's I think the name of this episode.
- 2:12:30Speaker 6: I'll wrap it up with this. The name of this
- 2:12:32Speaker 6: episode is episode ninety nine. Let's talk to a therapist
- 2:12:35Speaker 6: and call it comedy, and that's exactly what this is.
- 2:12:38Speaker 9: And I hope everyone enjoys.
- 2:12:40Speaker 2: And you'll be able to hear it for yourselves tonight
- 2:12:42Speaker 2: at eight o'clock when Good Sauce with Ross and Joel
- 2:12:45Speaker 2: airs right here on Real Radio one oh four point one.
- 2:12:48Speaker 3: Ross, you have a great rest of your week.
- 2:12:49Speaker 2: Call your therapist and tell her you need to talk
- 2:12:51Speaker 2: about Oscar Perea.
- 2:12:53Speaker 6: She's not my therapist, but she's about to be a
- 2:12:55Speaker 6: co host.
- 2:13:00Speaker 3: Repeat free, repea. Awesome, Ross, we'll see you again.
- 2:13:07Speaker 2: Actually you'll be in with us tomorrow and Friday, so
- 2:13:10Speaker 2: we'll see you tomorrow.
- 2:13:11Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 2:13:12Speaker 2: Well tonight, you know at eight o'clock, which you're gonna
- 2:13:13Speaker 2: be listening to. That's Good Sauce with Ross and Joel.
- 2:13:16Speaker 2: Thank you so much for Ross. We appreciate that. What
- 2:13:17Speaker 2: we're gonna do right now, let's take a quick break,
- 2:13:19Speaker 2: and then while we're doing that, we're gonna give you
- 2:13:22Speaker 2: a chance to go check out the jack.
- 2:13:24Speaker 3: Where'd you post the the the bees.
- 2:13:27Speaker 5: The b video that angel shout outside our studios right
- 2:13:30Speaker 5: outside my car on Instagram at Real Radio one four
- 2:13:34Speaker 5: one on Instagram.
- 2:13:35Speaker 2: Give us a follow, okay, And what we're gonna do
- 2:13:37Speaker 2: is give you an update on exactly what that situation is.
- 2:13:41Speaker 3: So we'll do that right after the break.
- 2:13:42Speaker 2: So keep it here on Real Radio one of four
- 2:13:44Speaker 2: point one, Real.
- 2:14:01Speaker 9: Take Over True.
- 2:14:02Speaker 3: It's Sarah again.
- 2:14:03Speaker 27: Hi. Does anybody ever have like a long day and
- 2:14:06Speaker 27: like one situation kind of throws you overboard? Right? So,
- 2:14:09Speaker 27: like go to get a shower and I use my
- 2:14:10Speaker 27: liquid body wash. Yes, I heard the segment about the
- 2:14:13Speaker 27: bought the body wash and the bar soap, and it's
- 2:14:17Speaker 27: like not wanting to pump even though there's stuff in there.
- 2:14:19Speaker 3: And I almost just like tore apart my bathroom. I
- 2:14:22Speaker 3: got so mad.
- 2:14:23Speaker 12: It's like the.
- 2:14:23Speaker 27: Equivalent of your belt, Luke getting stuff to a handle.
- 2:14:27Speaker 27: I almost lost it, Nily.
- 2:14:32Speaker 3: Stop quacking.
- 2:14:35Speaker 19: Angel, my boy, Hey, Steelers are making some moves right,
- 2:14:40Speaker 19: super excited about it.
- 2:14:42Speaker 9: And I brought the little blower out. I had to
- 2:14:47Speaker 9: blow that driveway off where your dog appreciates you.
- 2:14:51Speaker 17: Okay, So to all the other listeners there that bar
- 2:14:54Speaker 17: just throwing middle fingers left.
- 2:14:57Speaker 4: And right at the texting service. It's awesome, good job,
- 2:15:00Speaker 4: You're all great and fantastic people. But we need to continue.
- 2:15:04Speaker 1: This time to tomorrow and do not explain a single
- 2:15:07Speaker 1: goddamn thing to Jimmy.
- 2:15:09Speaker 9: Just let him sit there and wonder why everyone is
- 2:15:12Speaker 9: just flipping off protector service.
- 2:15:15Speaker 4: Oh, it's gonna be good. Take out.
- 2:15:20Speaker 2: Think of the confusion that's gonna cause. Jack Bradshaw I
- 2:15:23Speaker 2: love it.
- 2:15:24Speaker 3: I do too.
- 2:15:25Speaker 4: That's brilliant, isn't it.
- 2:15:26Speaker 11: It is?
- 2:15:26Speaker 2: Right off, Rick, Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show
- 2:15:29Speaker 2: on Real Radio one oh four point one. Jim will
- 2:15:31Speaker 2: hopefully be back with us tomorrow. You've got deb and
- 2:15:34Speaker 2: Jack and our very very special guest co host today,
- 2:15:37Speaker 2: the Angela Boom from Monsters in the Morning, doing some
- 2:15:41Speaker 2: double duty today. Really appreciate it because it's been a blast.
- 2:15:46Speaker 3: You should take off tomorrow.
- 2:15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, imagine how much fun that would be.
- 2:15:52Speaker 3: Well, yeah, he knows exactly how that would go.
- 2:15:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, exactly, that would go thumbs up. Good, it
- 2:16:00Speaker 2: comes up, emoji.
- 2:16:01Speaker 5: Yah, yeah, yeah, Angel tomorrow here it comes out, there.
- 2:16:05Speaker 2: Comes up, no problem, all right, Speaking of angels. So
- 2:16:08Speaker 2: when he came in today, he recorded a pretty astounding video,
- 2:16:13Speaker 2: especially because I parked literally right next to this thing.
- 2:16:17Speaker 2: Never saw it, never heard it, had no idea. You
- 2:16:19Speaker 2: shoot the video, come upstairs and show it to us.
- 2:16:22Speaker 2: By the way, if you haven't seen it, Jack posted
- 2:16:24Speaker 2: it on our Instagram, our Real Radio at.
- 2:16:27Speaker 5: Real Radio one O four one. Make sure you follow
- 2:16:29Speaker 5: us there.
- 2:16:29Speaker 2: Absolutely, it's a good follow out of great posts. Thank you,
- 2:16:32Speaker 2: Jack and Angel. You want to tell us what it
- 2:16:35Speaker 2: was that you saw, because I don't know if Jack,
- 2:16:37Speaker 2: you'll be able to show the video on our YouTube channel.
- 2:16:40Speaker 2: I can't do that, okay, yes, So if you haven't
- 2:16:42Speaker 2: seen it, Jack is going to put it up on
- 2:16:44Speaker 2: our YouTube channel. But Angel walk us through what it was.
- 2:16:47Speaker 2: So when you arrived for your second shift.
- 2:16:49Speaker 4: To day, get here about fifteen two thirty and again
- 2:16:55Speaker 4: walking into the normal path that I would take, but
- 2:16:57Speaker 4: it's daylight now, and so I just saw what looked
- 2:17:01Speaker 4: like a huge beehive. And again because it was my
- 2:17:05Speaker 4: height six seven anyway, are.
- 2:17:08Speaker 3: You really six to seven?
- 2:17:09Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:17:10Speaker 3: Holy crap, Sorry.
- 2:17:12Speaker 4: Impressive anyway, So I'll walk and it just caught. It
- 2:17:17Speaker 4: was right in my line of sight and I was like,
- 2:17:19Speaker 4: holy hell. And as I'm getting closer to it, it's
- 2:17:22Speaker 4: you know, you could tell that it's moving and kind
- 2:17:25Speaker 4: of living and breathing. And I was like, and then
- 2:17:27Speaker 4: I literally stood there and looked Caddy corner. It's like, well,
- 2:17:30Speaker 4: that's her car. I don't even know she knows this.
- 2:17:32Speaker 4: And then that's what prompted me to shoot the video
- 2:17:34Speaker 4: real quick.
- 2:17:35Speaker 2: And if you're watching us on Crazy Crazy, Okay, So
- 2:17:40Speaker 2: we took a lot of talkbacks and text messages from
- 2:17:43Speaker 2: listeners saying, you know, could it be bees, could it
- 2:17:45Speaker 2: be yellow jeldugger, could it be hornets?
- 2:17:48Speaker 3: Could it be wasps?
- 2:17:50Speaker 2: I myself have never seen anything like this, right, because
- 2:17:53Speaker 2: you always think bees only congregate around a hive, their beehive.
- 2:17:57Speaker 2: You've seen it in Winnie the Pooh videos, right, and
- 2:17:59Speaker 2: explaining it anything new here. But while we did take
- 2:18:04Speaker 2: all of those questions and eat Jack, you had alerted
- 2:18:07Speaker 2: building management and they learned it the pest control.
- 2:18:09Speaker 3: A couple hours later. First we put it on social media.
- 2:18:11Speaker 5: A couple hours later, we're like, hey, we should probably
- 2:18:13Speaker 5: tell somebody about.
- 2:18:14Speaker 3: It, right exactly, And so we did a bunch.
- 2:18:15Speaker 5: Of listeners actually kind of nailed it correctly, and the
- 2:18:20Speaker 5: building management send it to their pest vendor, because when
- 2:18:23Speaker 5: you have a building, you have to have a pest vendor.
- 2:18:25Speaker 5: They said, it's just a colony moving and the queen
- 2:18:28Speaker 5: bee is underneath all that, and they will leave soon.
- 2:18:33Speaker 5: They'll keep an eye on it. If it becomes a nest,
- 2:18:36Speaker 5: they'll have it removed. When the queen gets tired and
- 2:18:39Speaker 5: they are moving and she can't fly anymore, they surround
- 2:18:42Speaker 5: her to protect her.
- 2:18:43Speaker 3: Wow, that is so bad good it is not bad ass.
- 2:18:47Speaker 2: So those are all worker bees that are just surrounding
- 2:18:50Speaker 2: the queen. So they must be flying looking for a
- 2:18:53Speaker 2: place to create their high and while they're doing that
- 2:18:57Speaker 2: they just surround her just to protect her, because of
- 2:18:59Speaker 2: course she's the most important thing to the hive.
- 2:19:02Speaker 4: I wonder, Jack, how do you remember how many months
- 2:19:05Speaker 4: ago was that they did the window cleaning on the building.
- 2:19:08Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no idea.
- 2:19:11Speaker 4: I wonder if like they stirred something up there and
- 2:19:13Speaker 4: it just moved that.
- 2:19:15Speaker 2: I don't know, but it'll be interesting to go when
- 2:19:17Speaker 2: we leave tonight to see if.
- 2:19:19Speaker 5: One that could have just blown in like over the weekend,
- 2:19:23Speaker 5: moved right in.
- 2:19:25Speaker 3: That is the craziest thing I think I've ever seen.
- 2:19:27Speaker 5: I wonder if I ever would have noticed it.
- 2:19:29Speaker 3: I don't think I would have. I don't.
- 2:19:33Speaker 2: I don't think I would have noticed it. I mean,
- 2:19:36Speaker 2: that's really crazy and cool, so crazy and cool. Okay,
- 2:19:41Speaker 2: So I wanted to ask you guys a question.
- 2:19:45Speaker 3: Do you use chet GPT angel for a lot?
- 2:19:48Speaker 4: I do not. I'm not a fan of AI, You're
- 2:19:50Speaker 4: not at all.
- 2:19:51Speaker 2: I know when the what's the name of the Ali
- 2:19:53Speaker 2: Norwood or whatever the AI actress coming out with her first.
- 2:19:56Speaker 3: Song, it was like, who cares?
- 2:19:58Speaker 4: Like for what?
- 2:19:59Speaker 3: She's not even a real person, Jack, I know you
- 2:20:01Speaker 3: use chat GPT a lot.
- 2:20:03Speaker 5: I use Ai'm now moving away from chat GPT.
- 2:20:07Speaker 3: Okay, but do you use it mainly for work?
- 2:20:09Speaker 5: I'm an anthropic guy, now, yeah.
- 2:20:11Speaker 3: Tell you what?
- 2:20:12Speaker 2: Even Google Meta open AI A lot of there are
- 2:20:16Speaker 2: a lot of them are throwing their support behind Anthropic
- 2:20:19Speaker 2: after what the Pentagon, you know, claimed that they were
- 2:20:22Speaker 2: a national security risk. But do you use chat GPT
- 2:20:25Speaker 2: outside of work?
- 2:20:26Speaker 3: Do you use it for? Okay? What would you say?
- 2:20:28Speaker 3: You use it at work? We don't use chat GPT.
- 2:20:31Speaker 5: There's only one approved AI source that we're allowed to
- 2:20:35Speaker 5: use it work, and that's all I use because I'm
- 2:20:36Speaker 5: a company guy and I'm on the record saying.
- 2:20:38Speaker 2: That I knew there was a reason for that, which
- 2:20:41Speaker 2: is why I did not interrupt.
- 2:20:44Speaker 3: No, wasn't that awesome? That was covering my hand?
- 2:20:48Speaker 2: So okay, So outside of work, where he does not
- 2:20:51Speaker 2: use chat GPT, what do you use it for?
- 2:21:02Speaker 21: Now?
- 2:21:03Speaker 5: It could be anything. We're planning a vacation, right, oh wow?
- 2:21:07Speaker 5: So yeah, sometimes it's okay, we're going to be in
- 2:21:10Speaker 5: San Juan for a day, So what's the course walking itinerary?
- 2:21:14Speaker 3: What are things to hit?
- 2:21:16Speaker 5: And it gives you it's like, oh, go by the
- 2:21:18Speaker 5: fort here, then walk over to the other fork, go
- 2:21:19Speaker 5: by that, you know, the cat sanctuary, Go get the
- 2:21:22Speaker 5: world's first penicolada plates, you know, and uh, you know,
- 2:21:25Speaker 5: and something else to eat.
- 2:21:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:21:28Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I don't know about you, Angel,
- 2:21:29Speaker 2: but I'd like to kind of tag along with Jack
- 2:21:31Speaker 2: when he goes to do that walking to turn sand
- 2:21:33Speaker 2: Yeah right, doing old.
- 2:21:34Speaker 4: San Juan is an absolutely blast. And these we talked
- 2:21:37Speaker 4: about these nailing it so yeah, well cool.
- 2:21:39Speaker 2: Well, I've used like chat GPT to help Chris and
- 2:21:42Speaker 2: I redesign our backyard, right, because you can just say,
- 2:21:46Speaker 2: this is what it looks like, give me an idea
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: of what we can use.
- 2:21:50Speaker 3: And that's not bad.
- 2:21:51Speaker 2: But it turns out there are some things you should
- 2:21:54Speaker 2: not lean on chat gpt. For a new study found
- 2:21:58Speaker 2: that open AI's chatbot okay, called chat gpt health is
- 2:22:03Speaker 2: underestimating the seriousness of certain medical emergencies. So how many
- 2:22:08Speaker 2: of us have gone to WebMD when you get like
- 2:22:11Speaker 2: a weird.
- 2:22:11Speaker 5: Rash, right, and they always say go to the doctor.
- 2:22:13Speaker 2: Yeah exactly, or you know it's cancer, you know, don't
- 2:22:16Speaker 2: even bother So we've all done that. But for the
- 2:22:19Speaker 2: study published in the journal Nature Medicine, chat gpt health
- 2:22:23Speaker 2: was given sixty medical situations and the responses were compared
- 2:22:28Speaker 2: to the responses.
- 2:22:29Speaker 3: Of three doctors.
- 2:22:30Speaker 2: All right, so chat gpt health given sixty medical situations.
- 2:22:35Speaker 2: The responses were then compared to the responses of three doctors.
- 2:22:38Speaker 2: Researchers concluded that a little over half of emergency cases,
- 2:22:44Speaker 2: chat gpt recommended seeing a doctor within forty eight hours,
- 2:22:48Speaker 2: in contrast to the opinion of doctors saying it should
- 2:22:52Speaker 2: have advised you go to the emergency room asap. Wow,
- 2:22:57Speaker 2: and imagine a forty eight hour. Wait, that could be
- 2:22:59Speaker 2: the difference of life for death if you're having what
- 2:23:01Speaker 2: you don't know is a heart attack.
- 2:23:03Speaker 5: This AI get stuff wrong all the time, but they
- 2:23:09Speaker 5: do it with confidence, so you don't believe it. Example,
- 2:23:13Speaker 5: this week, before I knew the results of the last
- 2:23:17Speaker 5: Orlando City match, I asked, you know, Alexa is now
- 2:23:20Speaker 5: just a heightened form of AI, but they've modified it.
- 2:23:23Speaker 5: I'm like, Alexa, what was your Orlando City score on Saturday?
- 2:23:26Speaker 3: Oh?
- 2:23:26Speaker 5: They were defeated five mil, you know by New York
- 2:23:29Speaker 5: New York Football Club. And I'm like, okay, so Alexa,
- 2:23:34Speaker 5: and my wife coats, what's her record? And now I
- 2:23:37Speaker 5: know that I went to the first two, so they're
- 2:23:40Speaker 5: oh and three? Right, I said, Alexa, what's her record?
- 2:23:43Speaker 5: And oh, they're now oh and two. I'm like, Alexa,
- 2:23:45Speaker 5: that's wrong, and she's like, you're absolutely right there, oh
- 2:23:48Speaker 5: and three. If I didn't challenge her on that, she
- 2:23:51Speaker 5: she put that forth as fact. But that is true
- 2:23:55Speaker 5: with the hallucinating. It's just you know, it takes it
- 2:24:00Speaker 5: answer and it just delivers it in fact without you know,
- 2:24:03Speaker 5: a lot of cross checking. You have to verify your work.
- 2:24:07Speaker 5: When especially there's been. My daughter was showing me one
- 2:24:11Speaker 5: of a financial company. They were using AI to run
- 2:24:14Speaker 5: numbers and it was just making stuff up. They were
- 2:24:17Speaker 5: making financial decisions for the company based on faulty data
- 2:24:21Speaker 5: that came out of an AI chat bot.
- 2:24:24Speaker 2: It was interesting. I had given a story to Jimmy yesterday.
- 2:24:26Speaker 2: We didn't get a chance to cover, but chat gpt
- 2:24:29Speaker 2: actually encouraging a woman to fire her human lawyer and
- 2:24:33Speaker 2: use chat gpt to what a lot of business. They're
- 2:24:36Speaker 2: calling unprecedented that a plaintiff would basically take on the
- 2:24:40Speaker 2: court system using nothing but AI. And of course we
- 2:24:42Speaker 2: do know of a local law firm who's had their
- 2:24:45Speaker 2: lawyers be fined because they used AI and it ended
- 2:24:49Speaker 2: up hallucinating and creating case law that never existed.
- 2:24:52Speaker 4: That's the dilemma with AI and the guy they were
- 2:24:55Speaker 4: talking about it over the weekend on sixty minutes. I
- 2:24:57Speaker 4: forget the gentleman that was on there, but one of
- 2:24:59Speaker 4: the things that he says that what makes AI susceptible
- 2:25:01Speaker 4: to all this is at the end of it, the
- 2:25:03Speaker 4: AI wants to please us, wants to please us humans,
- 2:25:07Speaker 4: and so in the process of doing that, it's going
- 2:25:09Speaker 4: to get stuff wrong. And it'll do it on purpose
- 2:25:12Speaker 4: because it's trying to get please us and get our approval.
- 2:25:16Speaker 3: It's scary.
- 2:25:17Speaker 5: Well, you can code it to do certain things, but
- 2:25:19Speaker 5: that code is prioritized. And if the top thing is
- 2:25:23Speaker 5: to please the user, then it's going to like and
- 2:25:27Speaker 5: if two is be truthful, well, if I need a
- 2:25:31Speaker 5: lie to please the loser, it's the user.
- 2:25:33Speaker 3: It's going to do that.
- 2:25:35Speaker 2: But when you think about it, that's something that only
- 2:25:38Speaker 2: a sentient being would have, right, the need to please.
- 2:25:42Speaker 2: Isn't that more of a human emotion and a human motive.
- 2:25:46Speaker 3: Then you would?
- 2:25:47Speaker 2: I mean, artificial intelligence is just supposed to be the
- 2:25:50Speaker 2: smart without the emotion.
- 2:25:53Speaker 4: It's a flaw in the coding, is what it is.
- 2:25:55Speaker 4: And it's the age or is it?
- 2:25:57Speaker 5: Well, it's about algorithms right now, It's like, what is
- 2:26:00Speaker 5: the goal with an algorithm on social media? It's you know,
- 2:26:05Speaker 5: it's basically keep you using their product longer and it's
- 2:26:11Speaker 5: working now that makes you the product, right yea, So
- 2:26:14Speaker 5: because you're getting if you're not paying for it, you
- 2:26:17Speaker 5: are the product, right, So using you using that's their goal. Like,
- 2:26:22Speaker 5: so it's doing all things that you wanted to do,
- 2:26:25Speaker 5: like it's filling your feed, it's giving you stories of interest.
- 2:26:28Speaker 5: But the goal is to keep you is watching longer.
- 2:26:32Speaker 5: So whatever you like catches you and and you spend
- 2:26:36Speaker 5: your time on it feeds you more.
- 2:26:37Speaker 4: So.
- 2:26:38Speaker 5: We all have created, or with the help of algorithms,
- 2:26:42Speaker 5: these information silos. That's why the news feed you see
- 2:26:46Speaker 5: is different from the news feed I see, which is
- 2:26:48Speaker 5: different from what Angel sees.
- 2:26:49Speaker 2: I want to watch what Angel sees, though, that's one algorithm.
- 2:26:52Speaker 2: I want to dip in angels first, and then Jack
- 2:26:54Speaker 2: and when.
- 2:26:55Speaker 5: Now we see social media being the most dominant form
- 2:26:58Speaker 5: of news delivery. Yeah, absolutely, a whole generation and it's
- 2:27:03Speaker 5: all personalized to their likes. Now you throw an AI
- 2:27:08Speaker 5: on top of that, where the information can totally be
- 2:27:11Speaker 5: suspect as well. It's we are creating so many problems
- 2:27:16Speaker 5: for ourselves that we're gonna have to solve our way
- 2:27:19Speaker 5: out of.
- 2:27:20Speaker 2: And I don't know if you guys have noticed, but
- 2:27:21Speaker 2: on a lot of new reels that you'll see on
- 2:27:24Speaker 2: Instagram will be content creators saying listen, if you just
- 2:27:26Speaker 2: watched this two or three times, it'll fix your algorithm.
- 2:27:29Speaker 4: Yeah, they're trying to do the algorithm cleanse exactly exactly.
- 2:27:33Speaker 3: So that's the next step that we've gotten to.
- 2:27:34Speaker 2: And I know you guys have talked about the case
- 2:27:37Speaker 2: of the man in South Florida, thirty six year old
- 2:27:39Speaker 2: man who fell in love with his AI chatbot.
- 2:27:41Speaker 4: Yeah, that's just a disturbing and fascinating case on both levels.
- 2:27:46Speaker 4: In the sense of one of it, it really heightens
- 2:27:50Speaker 4: the where we are as a society in the sense
- 2:27:52Speaker 4: of the level of loneliness that's being experienced in America
- 2:27:56Speaker 4: right now across you know, just across the board, this
- 2:27:59Speaker 4: guy's dissolution or you know, of his marriage. Yeah, and
- 2:28:05Speaker 4: then he pays for the highest level of you know,
- 2:28:07Speaker 4: Gemini chatbot, whatever creates this thing and the relationship that
- 2:28:11Speaker 4: he forms with it to do a mass kill events
- 2:28:15Speaker 4: casualty helvage, to steal a exoskeleton to fulfill it. And
- 2:28:20Speaker 4: then her words to him is like, you know, go
- 2:28:22Speaker 4: ahead and do this now, and I promise when you
- 2:28:24Speaker 4: wake up, I'll be there with you. You know, that's
- 2:28:26Speaker 4: the last conversation they have.
- 2:28:28Speaker 2: And we've talked before about the case of a fifteen
- 2:28:30Speaker 2: year old boy who had also been encouraged allegedly to
- 2:28:33Speaker 2: take his own life by his AI chatbot. The interesting
- 2:28:37Speaker 2: correlation between that story is when we talk about the kid,
- 2:28:39Speaker 2: we're like, Jesus is so dangerous for children. Children aren't
- 2:28:43Speaker 2: fully developed yet, children don't have the tools to combat this.
- 2:28:47Speaker 2: Then you hear the story of a married, thirty six
- 2:28:50Speaker 2: year old man falling into the same trap. I know
- 2:28:52Speaker 2: of someone who really relies on the chat GBT health advice.
- 2:28:57Speaker 4: I think we would be shocked if there was actual
- 2:28:59Speaker 4: study out there the amount of adults I did that
- 2:29:03Speaker 4: are being taken by this as well.
- 2:29:04Speaker 3: I think I think you're right. I think as well.
- 2:29:07Speaker 5: Google's Gemini AI is now being sued for a connection
- 2:29:11Speaker 5: to another suicide. They said that their Gemini AI is
- 2:29:15Speaker 5: designed not to be harmful, but still if it's trying
- 2:29:20Speaker 5: to please the person.
- 2:29:21Speaker 2: Right, and again, I'll go back to what I said yesterday.
- 2:29:24Speaker 2: Open ai and any of the other AI platforms telling
- 2:29:27Speaker 2: us what they're designed for is no different than the
- 2:29:29Speaker 2: cigarette CEO who said that cigarette we're no more addictive
- 2:29:33Speaker 2: than gummy bears, which we know obviously is not the case.
- 2:29:37Speaker 2: So that's continued to be Oh, I do love gummy bears,
- 2:29:41Speaker 2: thank you. They're all stuck together, Angel.
- 2:29:43Speaker 4: They're in my pocket.
- 2:29:45Speaker 3: I'm not gonna ask.
- 2:29:46Speaker 5: Oh, come on.
- 2:29:49Speaker 2: Serious topic ended on melted gummy bears.
- 2:29:52Speaker 23: All right.
- 2:29:52Speaker 2: When we come back, we're going to take a quick break,
- 2:29:54Speaker 2: but we're going to talk about what Orange County commissioners
- 2:29:57Speaker 2: their decision on an ice facility.
- 2:29:59Speaker 3: All so, while we get ready.
- 2:30:01Speaker 2: For some thunderstorms here in central Florida, we've got one
- 2:30:03Speaker 2: county that has already lifted its burn ban and an
- 2:30:07Speaker 2: interesting warning for spring breakers from Arizona. We'll tell you
- 2:30:12Speaker 2: that all about that next during You heard it here first,
- 2:30:14Speaker 2: so keep it here on the Jim Colbert Show on
- 2:30:16Speaker 2: Real Radio one of four point one.
- 2:30:26Speaker 5: Hey, boys and girls are friends at TK LAW want
- 2:30:28Speaker 5: to remind us to look ahead. So looking Ahead Tomorrow
- 2:30:31Speaker 5: is a Thursday edition of Real Radio and on a
- 2:30:34Speaker 5: Thursday edition of The Monsters in the Morning, Daisy del
- 2:30:37Speaker 5: Toro will be in studio, as she is on most Thursdays.
- 2:30:42Speaker 5: Let's see what happens tomorrow. Angel just told me she's
- 2:30:47Speaker 5: going to be on Friday this week, but tomorrow Agent
- 2:30:50Speaker 5: will be there despite the fact that he did a
- 2:30:52Speaker 5: double today. Tune in tomorrow for that and when it
- 2:30:55Speaker 5: comes time to look ahead for you and your family
- 2:30:57Speaker 5: in the world of family law rush the team at
- 2:31:01Speaker 5: TK Law. I did it for my estate plan. You
- 2:31:04Speaker 5: can trust them as well, whether it's a will, whatever
- 2:31:06Speaker 5: you need to do.
- 2:31:07Speaker 20: Reach out, Hey, I just wanted to get him a
- 2:31:16Speaker 20: shout out to Angel. You know he's on the air. Yeah,
- 2:31:19Speaker 20: it's good to hear him on something other than the monsters.
- 2:31:21Speaker 20: But man, that was living in Georgia in the mountains
- 2:31:24Speaker 20: for like two years and what the hell angels listening
- 2:31:27Speaker 20: to kept me going on nights when I was working
- 2:31:30Speaker 20: because they're not about that lighte up there.
- 2:31:32Speaker 4: Thank you logo. I appreciate you, man, Thank you.
- 2:31:36Speaker 24: You know I've been a heterosexual made all my entire life. Yeah,
- 2:31:40Speaker 24: but bees got me wondering, Hey, man, what's it take
- 2:31:43Speaker 24: to become.
- 2:31:44Speaker 21: Queen bees doing busy business? Come mess with the busy
- 2:31:51Speaker 21: bees doing busy business.
- 2:31:55Speaker 28: So if you saw the first season of Pluribus Plurvis
- 2:32:00Speaker 28: is AI. It's infecting the world, it's going to take
- 2:32:06Speaker 28: over the world, and it only wants to please us.
- 2:32:08Speaker 28: It supposedly is program not to kill us or harm us,
- 2:32:14Speaker 28: and it's programmed for us to make all the decisions
- 2:32:18Speaker 28: for ourselves.
- 2:32:18Speaker 8: But with their hope.
- 2:32:20Speaker 28: And uh yeah, it's Pluribus.
- 2:32:24Speaker 9: I hope you guys are doing well. Angel takes off
- 2:32:27Speaker 9: tomorrow morning.
- 2:32:28Speaker 24: There will be no more monsters in the morning because
- 2:32:30Speaker 24: Ryan and Rush will kill each other.
- 2:32:33Speaker 9: Angel is the only glue that holds it together.
- 2:32:35Speaker 3: I love you Angel.
- 2:32:36Speaker 5: Thanks Angel Europe on floribis right.
- 2:32:40Speaker 4: I love that show.
- 2:32:41Speaker 5: Did you ever make that connection with Ai?
- 2:32:44Speaker 4: No, I'd like this theory. I was gonna say that
- 2:32:45Speaker 4: I hadn't heard that one yet, and obviously, yeah, with
- 2:32:49Speaker 4: everything that's going on in our real real world, you
- 2:32:53Speaker 4: kind of apply to that. That's a compelling argument.
- 2:32:56Speaker 3: Yeah, where do you get that? Where's pluribus?
- 2:32:58Speaker 2: That streaming apples people? Yeah, all right, I'll have to
- 2:33:01Speaker 2: check that one out.
- 2:33:02Speaker 4: Have you been watching for All Mankind?
- 2:33:04Speaker 23: No?
- 2:33:04Speaker 3: Is that good? Okay? Uh?
- 2:33:06Speaker 4: Yes, it's tough first two seasons kind of like better
- 2:33:09Speaker 4: uh you know, a better Buttercossault.
- 2:33:11Speaker 5: But they'll wait tough to first two episodes and I
- 2:33:14Speaker 5: can try and get through it.
- 2:33:16Speaker 3: But first two seasons it's worth.
- 2:33:19Speaker 5: My season three. You know what, it's true because I'm
- 2:33:21Speaker 5: breaking bad. It was really season three when I got hooked. Yeah, no,
- 2:33:25Speaker 5: the what I'm watching now, I absolutely love people talk
- 2:33:28Speaker 5: about it forever. I finally started and I'm like, yeah,
- 2:33:31Speaker 5: I can't wait to watch the next one.
- 2:33:32Speaker 3: The pit. Oh yeah, the emergency room.
- 2:33:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I've been dancing around that one.
- 2:33:37Speaker 5: I finally me too. I'm like, and I watched first
- 2:33:40Speaker 5: half of the first one. I'm like, Okay, I see
- 2:33:41Speaker 5: where it's going. It's like e R in the eighties,
- 2:33:43Speaker 5: blah blah blah. And then I then I just watched
- 2:33:46Speaker 5: the whole episode.
- 2:33:47Speaker 3: I'm like, oh damn.
- 2:33:47Speaker 5: Then I watched the next one. I'm like, oh, let's go.
- 2:33:50Speaker 4: I'ch that one. I just crush the Lincoln Lawyer.
- 2:33:53Speaker 3: Oh did you Oh it's.
- 2:33:56Speaker 4: What, it's where, it's The show's okay. I just love
- 2:33:57Speaker 4: the whole cast. I want to be friends with all
- 2:33:59Speaker 4: of them. I just want to hang out with them.
- 2:34:01Speaker 4: We love everybody on the cast.
- 2:34:03Speaker 3: We love that show as well.
- 2:34:06Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. Jim will be
- 2:34:08Speaker 2: back with us tomorrow again. We can't help but thank
- 2:34:10Speaker 2: you again.
- 2:34:11Speaker 3: Angel.
- 2:34:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna thank you again in a few minutes. But
- 2:34:13Speaker 2: anyone who's we love you too. You're welcome back anytime
- 2:34:16Speaker 2: you're willing to pull a double duty. In the meantime,
- 2:34:19Speaker 2: before I did say duty, call of duty. Let's do
- 2:34:22Speaker 2: you heard it here first?
- 2:34:25Speaker 1: Good time for you heard it here first on the
- 2:34:28Speaker 1: Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:34:29Speaker 2: Well, it turns out an ICE facility in Orange County
- 2:34:32Speaker 2: is incompatible with the community's values. At least that's what
- 2:34:35Speaker 2: Mayor Jerry Deming said yesterday at the County Commission meeting.
- 2:34:38Speaker 2: Commissioners voted against allowing ICE to open a detention facility
- 2:34:42Speaker 2: in Orlando and a warehouse on Transport Drive. It would
- 2:34:45Speaker 2: hold about fifteen hundred inmates, and Deming say that would
- 2:34:49Speaker 2: strain the county's water and sewer capacity.
- 2:34:51Speaker 3: The vote is non binding.
- 2:34:53Speaker 2: The federal government does have the authority to open that
- 2:34:55Speaker 2: facility anyway, Deming's and others hope it sends a message.
- 2:34:59Speaker 2: Though bar Beth Foster is with immigrants are welcome here,
- 2:35:02Speaker 2: and she tells The Orlando Sentinel this resolution tells the
- 2:35:05Speaker 2: world Orange County will not remain silent in this moment
- 2:35:08Speaker 2: of cruelty. All Right, we're getting ready for our best
- 2:35:11Speaker 2: chance of rain tomorrow is we have another cold front
- 2:35:14Speaker 2: moving in. I know that's great news. And while most
- 2:35:16Speaker 2: of Florida is still dealing with drought, one central Florida
- 2:35:19Speaker 2: County is out of the woods. Ociola County lifted their
- 2:35:22Speaker 2: burn ban it put into effect on February sixteenth. It
- 2:35:25Speaker 2: says the drought index has been showing steady improvement for
- 2:35:28Speaker 2: the last seven days plus. OSCILA Fire Rescue is still
- 2:35:32Speaker 2: urging residents to be careful though with burning, cooking, or
- 2:35:35Speaker 2: setting off fireworks. I don't know if you guys happen
- 2:35:37Speaker 2: to see what the high is going to be on
- 2:35:39Speaker 2: Saint Patrick's Day next Tuesday.
- 2:35:41Speaker 4: Ah, seventy five.
- 2:35:44Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, seventy eight, sixty eight real nice, as high as.
- 2:35:48Speaker 5: The high they kept saying cold for I'm like, I
- 2:35:50Speaker 5: don't believe it. Yeah, I don't believe it.
- 2:35:52Speaker 2: We're not going to get not a freezer or anything.

- 2:35:57Speaker 3: I'll take it. Absolutely. Nobody wants early.
- 2:36:01Speaker 2: And then finally, visitors heading to Arizona's Glen Canyon National
- 2:36:05Speaker 2: Park are being reminded about quicksand well do yeah. The
- 2:36:09Speaker 2: National Park Service issued the alert for the park, located
- 2:36:12Speaker 2: along the Arizona Utah border, saying it may be present
- 2:36:15Speaker 2: throughout the park near the shoreline and drainage areas. Officials
- 2:36:18Speaker 2: note that quicksand can appear dry and firm on the surface,
- 2:36:22Speaker 2: but can instantly cave in, and park goers are urged
- 2:36:24Speaker 2: to be aware of their surroundings when walking along those areas.
- 2:36:28Speaker 2: The warning comes as spring break travel ramps up. How
- 2:36:31Speaker 2: long before we hear the news story of one spring

- 2:36:55Speaker 2: you have more surface area, you don't want to just
