- 1:22Speaker 2: grab your popcorn because.
- 1:25Speaker 1: There is more.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I have a couple of things to get to, and
- 1:28Speaker 2: I will get to some of the things I want
- 1:32Speaker 2: to do in a moment.
- 1:35Speaker 1: It was very cool to see.
- 1:39Speaker 2: That Jake Burgess, who owns Foxgarden and now owns Bonngies,
- 1:45Speaker 2: he is acquiring Carnegiese in Greenfield. I did not know
- 1:49Speaker 2: that Carnegiese had closed at.
- 1:51Speaker 1: The end of June. They've been around for twenty six years.
- 1:56Speaker 2: So now his group which is the Fox Gardens and
- 2:00Speaker 2: and and bon jeeson uh smoke. These concessions in Concession
- 2:05Speaker 2: stand in Lapal, they're taking it over. We've got some
- 2:11Speaker 2: seriously good restaurant tours in Indy. We've got what the
- 2:14Speaker 2: Cunningham group does.
- 2:16Speaker 1: We we have. We we've seen what kind.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Of force Patachewu has been. I like it, and I
- 2:24Speaker 2: like celebrating the local things that are doing well. This
- 2:28Speaker 2: is one of those things. Good on you, well done,
- 2:31Speaker 2: well played. Love that's happening on the south side too,
- 2:35Speaker 2: I think I think that's fantastic, terrific. So that that
- 2:39Speaker 2: was one. Then there's the story of the nominees. The
- 2:48Speaker 2: story of the nominees goes as follows. President Trump is
- 2:54Speaker 2: trying to get his judicial and other nominees confirmed. It's
- 3:05Speaker 2: not happening, certainly not happening with any bit of of force.
- 3:11Speaker 2: It isn't moving down the line aggressively. It's being thwarted.
- 3:16Speaker 2: This time it was by Democrats who said, well, we're
- 3:21Speaker 2: not going to allow this. We're going to try and
- 3:24Speaker 2: stop that. We're going to try and and and obvious
- 3:27Speaker 2: gate here and and fight there. They were trying to
- 3:31Speaker 2: get this done before the recess. Schumer's like, well, we
- 3:37Speaker 2: could find our way free to allowing some of these votes.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I don't know why these people have so much power.
- 3:42Speaker 1: If you if you let loose a billion dollars for things.
- 3:46Speaker 2: That we're interested in, to which Trump told Schumer to
- 3:49Speaker 2: go to hell, and then told Republicans to go enjoy
- 3:54Speaker 2: your recess, have a great recess, go back and tell
- 3:57Speaker 2: your districts what we're trying to do is Republicans and
- 3:59Speaker 2: what Democrats.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Are doing to stop us.
- 4:02Speaker 2: It really is incredible when you take a look at
- 4:08Speaker 2: how much we're seeing the confirmations of Trump not take place.
- 4:21Speaker 2: There's a it's a ton, and it's a problem. And
- 4:26Speaker 2: I do not know, because I brought this up to
- 4:28Speaker 2: you that I do not know what it is that
- 4:33Speaker 2: Republicans are doing. That they are going to keep the
- 4:37Speaker 2: Senate in session throughout this recess, which is going to
- 4:45Speaker 2: prevent President Trump from engaging what's known as a recess appointment,
- 4:49Speaker 2: which is absolutely lawful. It's in the constitution. The Senate
- 4:52Speaker 2: isn't in session. The president can appoint people until such
- 4:55Speaker 2: time that they need to be confirmed. So by keeping
- 5:02Speaker 2: the Senate in some type of like limbo session, you're
- 5:06Speaker 2: preventing the president from being able to do this. Now,
- 5:14Speaker 2: there are some Republicans who will tell you that even
- 5:17Speaker 2: though there's this slow walk, it's been a pretty good
- 5:19Speaker 2: couple of months.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I think we should get the entire executive calendar done.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I totally agree with President Trump on that here's what's interesting,
- 5:26Speaker 3: and you guys should do this.
- 5:27Speaker 1: You guy should have You guys could have.
- 5:28Speaker 3: To make your job a lot more interesting if you
- 5:30Speaker 3: did the following. When you see Democrat senators coming out
- 5:33Speaker 3: of the halt, you should ask them who they voted
- 5:35Speaker 3: against it. They have no idea. These are all nominees
- 5:38Speaker 3: that were in normal environment would just sail through.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Now, that is a good line from Senator Bernie Moreno
- 5:46Speaker 2: goes back to Fox and the question to Senator Marshall, that.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Is exactly what I've been hearing from my sources on
- 5:53Speaker 4: the Hill.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Is that your experience as well.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Kevin he Cinna Marino's absolutely right. But I want to emphasize,
- 5:58Speaker 4: despite Chuck Schumer trying to slow things down, we've had
- 6:02Speaker 4: an incredible first seven months under President Trump. We've had
- 6:05Speaker 4: eleven pieces of major legislation that the President signed. We've
- 6:08Speaker 4: repelled sixteen of Biden rules as well one hundred and
- 6:11Speaker 4: twenty five nominees. But the Democrats are not following suit
- 6:15Speaker 4: at all. They're doing everything they can to obstructives. I
- 6:18Speaker 4: think the big emphasis here is that that seventy to
- 6:21Speaker 4: ninety percent of the people nominated in years past by
- 6:25Speaker 4: different presidents have been done so by unanimous consent by
- 6:29Speaker 4: some type of a voice vote, So they are slow
- 6:31Speaker 4: walking things.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Well, the voice vote is interesting because there's been a
- 6:34Speaker 2: grand total of zero voice votes allowed. Zero.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Now this has a bit of nuance to it.
- 6:44Speaker 2: There's an interesting thing going on along with this, and
- 6:49Speaker 2: it is how the Democratic Party is stating quite clearly
- 6:55Speaker 2: that they should be getting involved in jerrymandering. They say
- 7:05Speaker 2: to me, how do these two things connect? Well, connects
- 7:08Speaker 2: through the very idea that the rules are for you,
- 7:13Speaker 2: you sucker. They're not for other people. They certainly aren't
- 7:17Speaker 2: for Democrats. This is Senator Corey Booker speaking on this
- 7:24Speaker 2: subject to CNN.
- 7:29Speaker 5: I'm sick of the jerry mandering. But if Donald Trump
- 7:31Speaker 5: is going to push to jerrymander Texas, he's going to
- 7:34Speaker 5: break the rules in order to win. He can't win
- 7:36Speaker 5: by the rules they are right now, So he thinks
- 7:37Speaker 5: you should break the rules for Democrats to sit back
- 7:39Speaker 5: and just say, Okay, we're going to play by the
- 7:41Speaker 5: queen's rules. No, I'm telling you right now. We need
- 7:44Speaker 5: to win in the midterm. We need to stop him
- 7:46Speaker 5: from cheating, from lying, and from stealing the election, and
- 7:49Speaker 5: if they're doing something to add their congressional seats, we
- 7:52Speaker 5: need to look at our ways of doing that right now.
- 7:55Speaker 2: First, the Democrats are now fine with talking about stealing elections.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Now to Cato accuse people of stealing elections. What Corey
- 8:03Speaker 2: Booker is saying, how dare you not vote for the
- 8:05Speaker 2: people I tell you to vote for?
- 8:07Speaker 1: But this is now an argument.
- 8:09Speaker 2: For jerry mandering, the thing that they're accusing Texas Republicans
- 8:14Speaker 2: of doing, which, by the way, I don't doubt jerry
- 8:17Speaker 2: mandering happens all over the place. Redrawing district lines to
- 8:20Speaker 2: be more favorable happens all over Yeah I wish it didn't, but.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Here it is.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And here are Democrats now, instead of saying we shouldn't
- 8:26Speaker 2: do this, saying we're all in favor of it because
- 8:29Speaker 2: we have to fight fire with fire, as if somehow
- 8:32Speaker 2: they never did it before, the same thing.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Is true about the votes.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Now they're slow rolling the votes and won't give any
- 8:39Speaker 2: voice votes. When Republicans do this, you know what we're
- 8:42Speaker 2: going to be told that Republicans are thwarting democracy. It's
- 8:47Speaker 2: absolutely what they're going to say. And it's also not
- 8:51Speaker 2: Cory Booker who's saying it. This is the chairman of
- 8:54Speaker 2: the Texas Democrat Party on CNN.
- 8:58Speaker 6: Because when we look at the maps and we look
- 8:59Speaker 6: at this states that are, you know, kind of prone
- 9:03Speaker 6: to jerrymandering, Illinois is one of them.
- 9:06Speaker 1: It's ranked among the worst by.
- 9:08Speaker 6: People who study these things. And so you have lots
- 9:11Speaker 6: of state houses around the country that are going to
- 9:14Speaker 6: be looking at what's happening in Texas and saying, hey,
- 9:17Speaker 6: maybe we can do that, given how few are controlled
- 9:20Speaker 6: by Democrats. What's your concern.
- 9:22Speaker 7: Here, Well, Democrats would be the first ones to line
- 9:27Speaker 7: up to try to get federally recognized non partisan redistricting committees,
- 9:31Speaker 7: but Republicans will never be on board trying to get
- 9:34Speaker 7: that accomplished. We see lots of Democratic states where they've
- 9:36Speaker 7: done that and Republican states where they haven't, and all
- 9:40Speaker 7: it's done is crippled Democrats from.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Their ability to be competitive.
- 9:44Speaker 7: I hope that blue states across the country see this
- 9:47Speaker 7: is a signal flare and start carving up their own
- 9:50Speaker 7: seats because Democrats have to stop trying.
- 9:52Speaker 1: To be the only adults in the room.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Great, Okay, well it only gets worse from here. But
- 10:02Speaker 2: they're saying we can't get what we want, so now
- 10:05Speaker 2: we're openly admitting of to what we have to do.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I would be happier with their jerrymandering, but it doesn't
- 10:12Speaker 2: seem to be going away. And it is the same
- 10:15Speaker 2: argument when they do it, it's fine. When you do it,
- 10:18Speaker 2: it's a threat to America.
