- 2:30You are listening to the Total Sports Recall Podcast.
- 2:33On this episode, host Harv Aronson takes a look back at the Pittsburgh Pirates five World Series triumphs.
- 2:39Now, here is your host, Mr.
- 2:40Harv Aronson.
- 2:41Welcome to the Total Sports Recall Podcast.
- 2:43I am your host, Harv Aronson, and as many of you may know, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, thus I'm naturally a Pittsburgh sports fan.
- 2:52The Pittsburgh Steelers have been to eight Super Bowls and won six.
- 2:56The Penguins hockey team has won five Stanley cup titles.
- 3:00The Pittsburgh Pirates have also won five World Series, but it has been 47 years since their last title.
- 3:07With that said, this episode we'll look back at the Bucs five World Series titles.
- 3:12In two weeks we will review the Steelers six Super bowl titles and then episode after that we'll look at the five Penguins Stanley Cup Championships The Pittsburgh Pirates won the world series in 1909-1925-1960-1971 and 1979.
- 3:31In 1903, that was the very first World Series played and the Pirates represented the National League while the Boston Americans, who later become the Red Sox, were the opponents, triumphing in what was then a best of nine series
- 3:44as Boston won five games and lost three.
- 3:48Six years after the very first World Series was played, the Pirates made it to the league championship once again.
- 3:54In 1909, the Pirates won the National League pennant ahead of the Chicago Cubs by six games.
- 4:01With 110 wins on the season, their one loss percentage was an impressive.724.
- 4:07The Boston Doves finished last in the National League, 65.5 games behind Pittsburgh.
- 4:13The Pirates opponent in the World Series was the Detroit Tigers.
- 4:17Their race to the pennant was a bit tighter as they won 98 games, just three and a half games better than second place Philadelphia.
- 4:25Like the Pirates, the team that finished last was far behind the Tigers, that being the Washington Senators who trailed Detroit by 56 games.
- 4:33The Tigers had an outstanding lineup highlighted by hall of Famer and one of the greatest baseball players in history, Ty Cobb.
- 4:41Joining him were Sam Crawford, George Moriarty and Donnie Bush.
- 4:46As for the National League champion Pirates, they were led by the greatest shortstop in the history of baseball, Honest Wagner.
- 4:51If you have a Wagner original baseball card, consider yourself very wealthy.
- 4:56Wagner's original cards typically garner the highest bids in an auction when discovered.
- 5:02Fred Clark, who was the team's manager and a player, also took the field in 152 games that year.
- 5:08Tommy Leach was an outstanding player in the outfield and George Gibson manned home plate as the catcher but it was Wagner who led the National League in nearly every offensive category.
- 5:18The Buckos pitching staff was phenomenal.
- 5:20Vick Willis posted a 2211 record on the season with a 224 ERA.
- 5:26Howie Kamnitz won another 25 games while losing only six to lead the league in one loss percentage.
- 5:32His ERA was a crazy 1.62.
- 5:35Lefty Left Field finished the campaign with a 198 mark and Nick Maddux won 13 games, only losing eight.
- 5:42When the series began, Pittsburgh knew facing Ty Cobb and company would not be an easy task.
- 5:48The Pirates took game one on October 8th by a score of 4 to 1 with Babe Adams getting the victory.
- 5:55Detroit stormed back the next day, winning 7 2.
- 5:58Back and forth the two teams went with the Tigers falling in a shootout for game three, losing eight to six.
- 6:05It was the Tigers turn in game four as they were victorious in a shutout five to nothing.
- 6:09Again it went back the other way in the next game with Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh with the Pirates winning 84 with Detroit on the brink of elimination, they took game six by a score of 5 4, setting up a
- 6:22one game winner take all on October 16, 19, 1909.
- 6:27Game seven of the 1909 World Series was played at Bennett park in Detroit and believe it or not, only 17,562 fans were in attendance.
- 6:37But it was a small stadium and that was a standing room only crowd as the capacity for that facility was around 14,000.
- 6:45When the games were in Pittsburgh, they were played at the old Forbes Field.
- 6:48The Pirates sent Babe Adams to the mound to try and win the title and for Detroit it was Bill Dunaman.
- 6:56Adams was masterful, throwing all nine innings.
- 6:59He surrendered just six hits and while striking out just one batter, he allowed just a single walk at the plate.
- 7:06Pittsburgh scored twice in the second inning, twice more in the fourth, and added a three run inning in the seventh with a final run coming across the plate in the eighth.
- 7:15Eight to nothing was the final and the Pirates were world champions for the first time.
- 7:21Tommy Leach and Honest Wagner held the big bats for Pittsburgh in the seven game set with Leach hitting 360 and Wagner 333.
- 7:30Leach hit four doubles, Wagner added a triple and manager Fred Clark smacked two home runs.
- 7:35Pittsburgh's pitchers silenced Ty Cobb, helding him to a.231 batting average for the Pirates.
- 7:43Babe Adams registered three of the four wins and posted an ERA of 1.33.
- 7:49It would be another 16 years before the Pirates return to the World Series to play the Washington Senators.
- 7:54The ironic fact about this Major League Baseball championship is that the Buckers were down three games to one only to stage a comeback and win the title.
- 8:03Interestingly enough, 54 years later, in 1979, the Pirates won the World Series, beating the Baltimore Orioles after coming back from three games to one a deficit, just as they had in 1925.
- 8:17This time, the Baltimore Orioles were the victims of the comeback between the Washington Senators and the Pirates.
- 8:23The 1925 World Series featured nine players that would end up in the Baseball hall of Fame for Pittsburgh.
- 8:29Those players were Bill McKinney, the manager, Max Carey and Pied Traynor.
- 8:35Washington sent Stan Coveleski, Goose Goslin, Bucky Harris, who was also a playing manager, and he manned second base, and the great Walter Johnson, as well as Sam Rice.
- 8:45Games in the series were played at Pittsburgh's Forbes Field and in Washington, the old Griffith Stadium.
- 8:51The games took place between October 7 to October 15.
- 8:55The senators were the defending World Series champions and were headed for a second consecutive title in Game 7 of the 1925 World Series as Washington was holding a 64 lead in the seventh inning of the final seventh game.
- 9:08But Washington shortstop Roger Peckinpah committed two errors in that seventh inning, which led to the Pirates scoring four unanswered runs to win the title.
- 9:17In previous games, Peckinpah, who won the Most Valuable Player award that season, made six other errors in the World Series.
- 9:24Leaders for that Series on the Pirates were Max Carey, with the highest batting average as he played in all seven games.
- 9:30Carey batted.458 with 11 hits that included four doubles.
- 9:34The great Pride trainer banged out nine hits for a.346 average.
- 9:40Pittsburgh only hit four home runs.
- 9:42Who's coming up?
- 9:43Which came off the bats of Pie Trainer, Kiki Kyler, Eddie Moore and Glenn Wright.
- 9:49Pittsburgh pitching staff was led by Vic Aldridge, who started three of the four games.
- 9:54Ray Kremer had two starts and the other two games had Emil Yid and Lee Meadows on the mound.
- 10:01For the first innings of games, the Senators top hitters were Joe Harris, the Great Sam Rice, Goose Goslin and Aussie Blueidge on the mount for Washington, of course, their staff was led by hall of Famer pitcher Walter Johnson,
- 10:14perhaps the greatest pitcher in history, according to many.
- 10:17Johnson had three starts, winning two of them a flame throwing right here.
- 10:21He struck out 15 in three games.
- 10:24With their first Major League Baseball title in hand, the city of Pittsburgh would have to wait just two more seasons before the Pirates reached the World Series, and that was 1927.
- 10:34Unfortunately for the Bucs, they had to face Murderers Row 3.
- 10:37The New York Yankees.
- 10:38Thought to be the greatest single team in history, they swept the Pirates in four straight games.
- 10:43It would be another 33 years for the Pittsburgh Pirates to win another National League pennant.
- 10:48And once again they would be facing the New York Yankees in a rematch.
- 10:52Just as it was in 1927, the men from the Big Apple were heavy favorites.
- 10:57What Pittsburgh was up against was the likes of Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford, Elston Howard, Art Dittmer, Clete Bowyer, Elston Howard, Tony Kubec, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Gil McDougal, Bobby Richardson, Bobby Sands, Bill Scalar, Ralph Tierley and Bob
- 11:13Turley, just to name a few.
- 11:15The Yankees had a powerhouse team that won 97 games in 1960.
- 11:19But Pittsburgh countered with a 95 win season.
- 11:22New York had crushed 193 home runs that season with a team average of.260.
- 11:28Pittsburgh on the hand only hit 120 home runs, but their team batting average bested New York's by 16 points.
- 11:36Vern Law and Bob Friend were the aces of the Pittsburgh Pirates pitching staff, posting records of 1812 and 29 respectively.
- 11:44But when it came to the World Series, all bets went out the window.
- 11:47The end result through the seven games took everyone by surprise.
- 11:50The Pirates opened game one with a 64 to win.
- 11:54In game two at Forbes Field, the Bucs got humiliated, losing 16 3.
- 12:00Game three was nearly as bad for Pittsburgh.
- 12:02As the series moved to New York, a final whitewashed score of 10.
- 12:05Nothing gave New York a one game lead.
- 12:07And most had been thinking that the Yankees were going to cruise the rest of the way to yet another World Series title.
- 12:14As they were and still are.
- 12:15The team with the most baseball titles, Pittsburgh went with Verne Law in game four and he controlled the bats of the Yankees.
- 12:22And Pittsburgh did just enough to win a 32 decision.
- 12:27All of a sudden the series was squared up again and get at two games apiece.
- 12:31And it was any one series.
- 12:32The Pirates moved to within one game of another title in game five, winning that one five two once again.
- 12:38In the next game, New York's bats came to life one more time, crushing the Pirates 12 to nothing.
- 12:44Through six games, the New York Yankees had scored 46 runs.
- 12:47Despite winning three games, the Pirates could only score 17.
- 12:51But the runs didn't matter.
- 12:52Wins did.
- 12:53So each team had to win just one game, Game 7, to win the World Series title.
- 12:59That 1960 World Series Game 7 was historic.
- 13:03While their regular season records were nearly identical with The Yankees winning 97 and losing 57 Pittsburgh had finished with a record of 95 and 59.
- 13:13The Yankees finished first in eight games ahead of Baltimore Orioles.
- 13:17Mickey Mantle led the American League in home runs with 40.
- 13:20And Roger Maris, one season away from setting a single season home run record, was the leader in RBIs with 112.
- 13:26The Pirates had finished the season seven games ahead of Hank Aaron and the Milwaukee Braves.
- 13:31And Pittsburgh had such stars on the field as Roberto Clemente, Smokey Burgess, Dick Stewart, Bob Skinner, Bill Verdon, Dick Groat, and the man that would become our hero forever, Bill Mazeroski.
- 13:44Grote became the National League's Most Valuable Player, leading the majors in a batting average with a mark of.325.
- 13:49And Stewart hit 23 home runs in 1960.
- 13:53On the pitching mound, Vernon Law was named as the Cy Young Award winner after winning 20 games, losing only nine.
- 13:59Bob Friend added 18 more wins.
- 14:01Harvey Haddix was still on the team in 1960, a season removed from his 12 inning perfect game effort in which he lost an extra innings to the Braves.
- 14:11So here we were, a World Series Game 7 at Forbes Field and the winning team would become Major League Baseball champions.
- 14:19The game was obviously a solid crowd of 36,683 fans in Pittsburgh.
- 14:25The game took 2 hours and 36 minutes to complete.
- 14:28Early on, it appeared the Pirates were heading for the first title in 35 years as they scored two runs in each of the first two innings to take a four nothing lead.
- 14:36But the Yankees did not fret.
- 14:38One run in the fifth and a big sixth inning brought four more runs across the plate.
- 14:42New York added two more runs in the eighth inning to take a 74 lead with just an inning and a half to go.
- 14:48However, the Pirates bats erupted in the bottom of that inning to score five more times and carry a 97 lead and be three outs away from the title.
- 14:57Not to be outdone, the Yankees scored twice more on top of the ninth and not the game at nine.
- 15:03With Ralph Terry on the mound, New York was hoping for three outs and extra innings.
- 15:09Bill Mazeroski came to the plate and the rest is history.
- 15:13Maz blasted a pitch over left field over the wall.
- 15:17As Yogi Berra watched his team lose the World Series in a very dramatic fashion.
- 15:22So dramatic in fact, Mazeroski's home run to win the Series remains the only seventh game World Series walk off home run to win a title to this day.
- 15:34Nine years earlier, in 1951, there was another historic home run that rivals Maz's dinger.
- 15:41That home run would earn the nickname the shot around the World, it refers to the New York Giants Bobby Thompson hitting a walk off home run in a pennant tie breaking game with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
- 15:52Sending the Giants to the World Series in one of the most dramatic radio calls in history.
- 15:57I would argue however, Bill Mazeroski's winning shot is a bigger event because it won the Pirates a league title.
- 16:04Whereas Thompson's only sent his team to the final dance.
- 16:08When you review the stats from the 1960 World Series based on those numbers, you would think Pittsburgh had no business winning.
- 16:15They were out hit 91 to 60, outscored 55 to 27.
- 16:21The Yankees had four triples and Pittsburgh had none.
- 16:24Prior pitchers however struck out 40 Yankee batters and New York only countered with 26 on an average.
- 16:31The Yankees scored over those seven games, a near eight runs per game mark with Pittsburgh coming in about half of that.
- 16:38The average number of hits where New York was about 13 and only close to 4 for the Pirates.
- 16:42But in the end the Pirates were world champions.
- 16:46Listen to the two calls of those historic blasts.
- 16:50First Bobby Thompson's shot, then Maz's last.
- 16:53Half of the night the Giants catch his foot Smith almost nil.
- 17:00Now it's a 42 ball game in favor of Brooklyn, but the Giants have retiring runs at second base and Thompson hits the hit sacking throw.
- 17:29The Giants send a pic and they're going crazy.
- 17:32They're going crazy.
- 17:38Here's a swing and a high five ball going deep blast.
- 17:40If they do it back to the wall goes down, it is going to be home.
- 17:48The 1960 world champions defeat the New York Yankees, the Pirates 10 and the Yankees died.
- 18:00For the next 20 years, the Pittsburgh Pirates will win two more World Series titles.
- 18:05The next championship game just came.
- 18:08Eleven years after Bill Mazeroski became a Pittsburgh hero for life.
- 18:12The 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates are personally my favorite team of all time.
- 18:17They were just a group of colorful and extremely talented players that just scratched and clawed their way to the World Series.
- 18:24For Pittsburgh, especially those who can recall that World Series, the players names just roll off your tongue.
- 18:30Gene Alley, Steve Blass, Nelson Briles, Dave Cash, the Great One, Roberto Clemente, Gene Klein's, Vic Davilio, Doc Ellis, Dave Juste, Richie Hebner, Jackie Hernandez, Bruce Keeson, Milt May.
- 18:46Mazeroski was still on the team.
- 18:48Bob Moose, Al Scoops Oliver, Manny Sanguin, Pops, Willie Stardrell, Bob Veal to just name a few of the primary players.
- 18:58And one tragic note about that team in 1971.
- 19:02Of course we all know 1972 would be the last year for Roberto Clementine passed away in a plane crash.
- 19:09But Bob Moose also lost his life that year in a car crash.
- 19:13But facing the Bucs in the World Series were the Baltimore Orioles.
- 19:16Pittsburgh won the newly created National League East Division.
- 19:19As division play began two years earlier with 90 victories, Pittsburgh was ahead of the St.
- 19:25Louis Cardinals by seven games.
- 19:27That much respected and loved Danny Murtaugh was managing the Pirates.
- 19:31And this 1971 title series would be his second, as he was the skipper in 1960.
- 19:38Getting to the World Series for the Bucs in 1971 meant beating West Division champions the San Francisco Giants.
- 19:44Pittsburgh dispatched of that team by winning three of the best of five series games for the O's.
- 19:50They had one hell of A pitching staff.
- 19:52Four players on their pitching staff had won 20 games that season.
- 19:56Each player had exactly 20 wins on their record.
- 19:59Those four men were Mike Cuellar, Bat Dobson, Jim Palmer and Dave McNally.
- 20:04None of the four suffered more than 10 losses that season, with McNally losing the fewest, just five.
- 20:09His winning percentage was best in the league.
- 20:12As the series opened in Baltimore, the Orioles took game one five two.
- 20:16The next day they won again, playing at home, and spanked the Pirates 11 3.
- 20:20Upon returning to their new home at Three River Stadium, the Bucs treated their fans to a 51 victory.
- 20:25Pittsburgh would take game four as well.
- 20:274 3.
- 20:28The series remained in the Berg for game five and the Pirates prevailed again for their third straight victory, putting Baltimore on the brink of elimination.
- 20:36In Game 6, the Orioles nearly found themselves losing at their stadium and watching the Pirates celebrate a title as the game had to go into extra innings where the Orioles finished off the Pirates by a score of 3
- 20:482.
- 20:49So all the marbles came down to one final game in Baltimore with Steve Blass and Mike Cuellar facing off from the mound in a defensive game.
- 20:57Pittsburgh held on to win the title by outscoring the Orioles by the slimmest of margins, 2 to 1.
- 21:02Final score.
- 21:04I can still see Bob Robertson at first base making the final out and Steve Blass jumping into his arms.
- 21:09At the time, I was 12 years old and this series was my first experience at actually watching a sporting event.
- 21:15And to this day, I can still see Roberto Clemente rounding the bases on a home run that became the difference in the game.
- 21:22From that point forward, I was hooked on sports.
- 21:25Clemente became my instant boyhood hero, and a year later, I was able to experience Franco Harris immaculate reception that gave the Pittsburgh Steelers their first playoff win in history.
- 21:35Franco's incredible play and Bill Mazeroski's home run blast are the two most famous plays in Pittsburgh sports history with any other plays a far distant second.
- 21:46With the pirates pocketing their fourth World Series, a neighbor on my street, the late Mr.
- 21:51Mike Rubino, came to my house and asked my father if he could take me downtown to watch the celebration.
- 21:57My dad granted permission and that only added to the excitement of becoming a newly formed sports fan in one of the greatest sports cities anywhere.
- 22:06As the 1970s decade progressed, the Pirates were perennial division champions and contenders in three those next nine years.
- 22:14Prior to their 1971 championship, they had won the National League east again division again in 1971.
- 22:20They repeated for the third time in 1972, which tragically, as we stated before, would become Roberto Clemente's final season as a Pirate and his final year of his life because of that awful plane crash on New Year's Eve
- 22:341972, a tragedy that has lived in the hearts and minds of Pirates fans Everywhere for now 54 years without Clementine Wright Field in 1973, the Pirates finished third in the division.
- 22:46Much of not being able to repeat for a four straight season as defending division champs must have had a lot to do with Clemente's untimely passing.
- 22:56The following season though, the team repeated as division champs and again in 1975 with three straight second place finishes leading up to the 1979 season.
- 23:07That became a very special year to close out the 70s.
- 23:10I would say the 1979 teams rival the 71 squad for my favorite power team ever because it's perhaps in 1979.
- 23:18I was a student at Slippery Rock State College, which is now Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, and as my alma mater is just about an hour from Pittsburgh, I still had a place at home where I grew up
- 23:27and I purchased tickets for all three World Series games at Three River Stadium.
- 23:32The first two games of the series were in Baltimore.
- 23:34The results were split.
- 23:36The O's took the first game 5 4, Pittsburgh to second 3 2.
- 23:41On October 12, 1979, the series came to Pittsburgh and the Candyman John Candelaria had a bad outing and Baltimore laid it on the Pirates by a score of 8 to 4.
- 23:52The Orioles would outscore the Pirates in the next game nine to six, moving them within one game of a World Series title.
- 23:59Burt Bly Levin saved the day for the Pirates who were down three games to one by winning the next game, holding Baltimore's bats in check as Pittsburgh offense opened up scoring seven times.
- 24:08Whereas Bly Levin only allowed A single run.
- 24:12I remember.
- 24:12With the series moving back to Baltimore, I returned to my college dorm to watch the remainder of the series.
- 24:17There was a student who lived on my floor in my dorm, which at the time was called High Rise 2, who was a die hard Baltimore Orioles fan.
- 24:25He was in hog heaven with his team holding a three games to one advantage.
- 24:29But with the fifth game going to the Pirates, he began to sweat.
- 24:33He locked himself in his room for game six and with John Candelaria the starter again, he and Kent Tokulvi shut down the Orioles offense while The Pirates scored four times and forcing an improbable seventh game winner take all.
- 24:46After Pittsburgh had been down three games to one in that last game of the 1979 season, Grant Jackson stepped to the mound and the bottom of the first inning with Scott McGregor opposing him for Baltimore, the Pirates took
- 24:58control of the game and never looked back, winning 4 to 1 and ending the 1970s with a world Series title to match.
- 25:05The Pittsburgh Steelers winning their fourth super bowl title in six years.
- 25:11And I recall that the celebration at my dorm was so wild and we were all looking for that Baltimore fan.
- 25:17They had to pull the fire alarm to get everybody out of the building.
- 25:20It was one great time in 1979.
- 25:24It was a glorious time to be a sports fan in Pittsburgh in the late 70s we had two World Series champions, a four time Super bowl champion.
- 25:32The Pittsburgh Penguins made the playoffs six times in 10 seasons with the court being reaching the quarterfinals in the Stanley cup playoffs for their furthest venture into the postseason.
- 25:42Within a number of years they would catch up to the Pittsburgh Pirates for league titles.
- 25:47As for the 1979 season, it was a special one for the Pirates because team captain Willie Stardrell made it that way.
- 25:53He would borrow singer Sister Sledge We Are Family song and use it as a theme for the team.
- 25:59It was like a family with the Bucks of 1979.
- 26:02This team was a very close knit, but with many colorful characters.
- 26:07You had the man they called Pops, Willie Stargill, handing out stars when players performed at a high level and they would attach those to their ball cap.
- 26:15There was Rennie Stennan, who had previously tied a major league record for getting seven hits and seven at bats.
- 26:21The team had a mad dog, Bill Madlock.
- 26:24Omar Marino represented the team's speed, stealing bases like taking candy from a kid.
- 26:29There was another animal on the team and he was Cobra.
- 26:32That would be hall of Famer and the replacement for Roberto Clemente and right field Dave Parker, a very large man at that Yogi Berra's son Dale was on the team.
- 26:42The ever smiling precursor to Hines Ward was behind the plate the immensely popular Manny Shanghian.
- 26:48The 1979 Pirates even had a hitman and Mike Easler.
- 26:52Frank Tavares was a slick fielding shortstop and Tim Foley split time with him coming to the Pirates as a seasoned veteran.
- 26:59On the mound was the Dutchman.
- 27:01Bert Blileven previously mentioned was the Candyman John Candelaria.
- 27:05The lanky Bruce Keeson was a steady pitcher, as was another very lanky pitcher who specialized as a relief pitcher and one of the league's best, Kent Tacoby.
- 27:14Other pitchers were Jim Bibby, Jim Rooker and as a side note, who I met personally just a few years back at a Stewart's pep rally in Jacksonville, Grant Jackson, Doc Ellis, Rick Rhoden and Enrique Romo, who had one
- 27:28of the funkiest screwball pitches I've ever seen.
- 27:31The late Chuck Tanner was the manager and he was a good one.
- 27:34The Pirates had reached the World Series by knocking out the Cincinnati Reds in the National League Championship Series, winning three straight games.
- 27:41That was not an easy task as the Reds had won several World Series in that decade and in 1979 still had Johnny Bench on the roster.
- 27:48Joe Morgan, Dave Concepcion, Ken Griffey Sr.
- 27:53Cesar Geronimo.
- 27:54Tom Seaver was on the mound, Fred Norman joining him.
- 27:57Pedro Bourbon was a top notch reliever and Mario Soto was up and coming as we sit here today.
- 28:03The Pittsburgh Pirates have not been to a playoff game since 2015.
- 28:07That was 11 years ago.
- 28:09Not to the World Series since 1979, which was 47 years ago.
- 28:14Will they ever reach the World Series again?
- 28:15It doesn't seem likely right now, although they had seen better relief pitching this past season and perhaps they could have been in the wild card round if the relief pitching was better.
- 28:25They did make the National League championship series in 1992 when Doug Drabek was the ace of the staff.
- 28:32But Buck o fans will long remember former Pirate Sid Bream breaking the hearts for the seventh game.
- 28:38Walk, walk off, slide, home slide for home plate with a winning run to send the Atlanta Braves to the World Series.
- 28:45And Drabek had pitched well that game, but was pulled for a lever and the rest is history.
- 28:50So there you have it, fans, and for you older Pittsburgh Pirate fans, the five championships the Bucs own can't be taken away and will forever be remembered as great historic moments in Pittsburgh Pirates history.
- 29:02In two weeks the topic will be somewhat the same, although it will be the Pittsburgh Steelers and their six Lombardi trophies that they have claimed as the focus of the podcast.
