Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: We'll get to weekend observations here at just a second,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and also Landon Donovan get to join us Towards the
- 0:06Speaker 1: end of this episode.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Here, I got a text.
- 0:08Speaker 1: From Mikey upset about the Giants and Cowboys on Sunday Night.
- 0:11Speaker 2: To open up the NFL. We'll close the.
- 0:13Speaker 1: First weekend of the NFL season, and Sally is also
- 0:17Speaker 1: upset about this. Let's start with Mikey A. Sally, I understand,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Mikey A. Why is this upset you so much?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Who cares? I mean, you know what it is.
- 0:24Speaker 3: It's the NFL is always trying to shove Giants cowboys
- 0:29Speaker 3: down our throats and the fact that they take the
- 0:32Speaker 3: Sunday night game of week one. Just think about how excited,
- 0:35Speaker 3: how much anticipation.
- 0:36Speaker 4: There's going to be for that first Sunday of the NFL.
- 0:39Speaker 3: And then you're gonna get a couple of teams that
- 0:42Speaker 3: are okay playing on Sunday Night, Like, come on, give
- 0:46Speaker 3: me a prime time matchup?
- 0:47Speaker 1: Right, Well, you're getting America's team, You're getting market number
- 0:50Speaker 1: one in this, so I'm told, and that's what Sunday
- 0:52Speaker 1: Night is thinking. And you're getting John Harbaugh's first game
- 0:55Speaker 1: as the Giants head coach, I think, you.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Know, I think plenty of people they're going to be
- 0:59Speaker 2: into that, they'll be jacked up for that.
- 1:01Speaker 3: And I think, yeah, No, give me, give me two
- 1:03Speaker 3: teams that that I care about. Give me two teams
- 1:06Speaker 3: that I think could could actually be there in January
- 1:10Speaker 3: and February. Don't give me two teams that you tell
- 1:13Speaker 3: me every year are going to.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Be there, because they're not. But I think we have
- 1:16Speaker 2: no idea who's going to be there January in February.
- 1:18Speaker 1: If I told you Seattle was going to be there
- 1:20Speaker 1: in January and February before the season of the room, right.
- 1:24Speaker 3: But if I told you you're going to have a
- 1:26Speaker 3: Ram Seahawks, I can't play the Seahawks because they're playing
- 1:30Speaker 3: obviously earlier. But if I told you you're going to have,
- 1:32Speaker 3: you know, Ravens and Steelers.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I don't even want the Steelers now. I'm tired of
- 1:37Speaker 2: that myself.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Ravens Chiefs, give me Ravens Chiefs.
- 1:43Speaker 5: To mike Ya's point, let me let me try to
- 1:44Speaker 5: help mike Ya out here.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Last year, this first Sunday night football game was Bill's Ravens.
- 1:51Speaker 5: And if you think about it, that might have been
- 1:54Speaker 5: the game of the year. Yeah, we don and it
- 1:56Speaker 5: was kind of all downhill from there.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yes, well, we thought in the first half the Ravens
- 2:00Speaker 1: with the team to beat, they were going to the
- 2:01Speaker 1: super Bowl. And then we thought after the game that
- 2:04Speaker 1: the Ravens were done and the Bills with the team
- 2:06Speaker 1: to beat and they were going to the super Bowl.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Neither of them made it to the super Bowl.
- 2:09Speaker 6: I mean, I think you get I'm not upset about
- 2:12Speaker 6: it too, not as much as Mike certainly, But I
- 2:14Speaker 6: think what it is saying is early on the Giant's
- 2:17Speaker 6: going to be a primetime team this year. Because if
- 2:19Speaker 6: that's the first Sunday night game where it's not to
- 2:22Speaker 6: your point, if you compare it to last year's two
- 2:25Speaker 6: national powerhouses that people expect to compete legitimately for the
- 2:29Speaker 6: super Bowl going at it on Sunday night football, that's
- 2:31Speaker 6: what the week one Sunday night football matchup should be.
- 2:33Speaker 6: This is a big market Giants, big market Cowboys whatever,
- 2:37Speaker 6: going against each other. But I think it's more telling
- 2:39Speaker 6: about the hardball led Giants, with Jackson Dart being in
- 2:43Speaker 6: the NFL's mind, more of a primetime show, which I'm
- 2:46Speaker 6: excited about. I just don't know if I would have
- 2:48Speaker 6: that matchup out of the gate on the five Sunday
- 2:51Speaker 6: Nightndays the first Sunday night of the year different so
- 2:54Speaker 6: Monday night maybe first Sunday night.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I don't know if I would do so.
- 2:57Speaker 1: NFL, the NFL often wants market number one, and there
- 3:01Speaker 1: are two options that they can go to and market
- 3:03Speaker 1: number one, and unfortunately for the NFL and everyone, one
- 3:07Speaker 1: of those options is the Jets.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Okay, they're not going to go there.
- 3:12Speaker 3: You know, Sture, you've been betting a lot longer than
- 3:16Speaker 3: I have. If there is a place to place a
- 3:19Speaker 3: bet on who the Jets first round first game matchup is,
- 3:24Speaker 3: please let me know, because I would put a mortgage
- 3:27Speaker 3: payment down right now. Their first game is going to
- 3:29Speaker 3: be at Tennessee, just because I know they play them
- 3:32Speaker 3: away and they're going to try and shoe horn us
- 3:34Speaker 3: into It's a solid revenge game that's gonna happen. I
- 3:38Speaker 3: would put I'm calling it now, Jets Week one matchup
- 3:42Speaker 3: at Tennessee, one o'clock on CV.
- 3:44Speaker 2: That's a win. I mean, listen, you might.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Need Mike to tell us. Am I in the minority here?
- 3:52Speaker 5: Like I love the NFL. The schedule release and who plays,
- 3:56Speaker 5: who win does absolutely nothing for me.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I love it. I mean I think you're in the minority.
- 4:02Speaker 7: Yeah, you're on the minority.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I'm excited.
- 4:04Speaker 3: I'll be I'll have spreadsheets, I'll be ready to go Thursday.
- 4:08Speaker 1: He is so wrapped up in the Knicks nothing else
- 4:10Speaker 1: matters to him right now they're off Thursday.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 6: Just just looking at what your fall Sundays and it're
- 4:19Speaker 6: gonna look like in Thursday nights, all this matchup and
- 4:21Speaker 6: that I love him. And now I'm not as nuts
- 4:24Speaker 6: as some people who go to the next level, but
- 4:26Speaker 6: I do think it's to me, it's a fun thing
- 4:28Speaker 6: where you can envision what your fall is going to
- 4:30Speaker 6: look like with all these great matchups from September through February.
- 4:33Speaker 3: And Taylor, if you need, if you need something to
- 4:35Speaker 3: get excited about when we get back to God bless
- 4:38Speaker 3: football after Thursday, we get to bring back that's a game.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yes, Taylor is hoping the first month of the NFL
- 4:44Speaker 1: season doesn't mean he'll be coming off a Knicks championship
- 4:47Speaker 1: in a parade right past the Wells. Fargo and the
- 4:49Speaker 1: Yankees will be headed into the bone season. Taylor won't
- 4:52Speaker 1: pay attention until football to the Yankees season is over right,
- 4:55Speaker 1: I mean.
- 4:56Speaker 7: Dog get me started on the Yankees.
- 4:57Speaker 5: Yankees git anytime they play a good team.
- 5:00Speaker 7: Ah, come on with the Yanks.
- 5:04Speaker 6: You should let the Yanks breathe a little bit, focus
- 5:06Speaker 6: on the schedule. Release you got your knicks. Let the
- 5:08Speaker 6: Yankees breathe until the postseason. He can get excited about them.
- 5:11Speaker 4: They'll be fine.
- 5:12Speaker 2: What happened over the weekend, tal And just they got swept.
- 5:14Speaker 4: They got swept swept by the Brewers.
- 5:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Yeah, the Brewers are The Brewers are the exact same
- 5:19Speaker 5: team that the Yankees got shoved into a locker against
- 5:23Speaker 5: with the Blue Jays, where they have great pitching, they're
- 5:26Speaker 5: gonna put the ball in play. It's the Yankees kryptonite. Oh,
- 5:29Speaker 5: we're not playing the freaking Baltimore Orioles and the Red
- 5:32Speaker 5: Sox anymore. Now we're playing competitive teams. And once we
- 5:36Speaker 5: play competitive teams, this is this is schedule. These losses
- 5:39Speaker 5: in for the Yankees every time. These are the exact
- 5:42Speaker 5: teams that crush the Yankees.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Thank god we have the Mets coming up. Oh god.
- 5:47Speaker 6: It was a great quote from booming after the game.
- 5:50Speaker 6: You know, Yankees are now one and eight. You guys
- 5:51Speaker 6: are won to eight against teams with a winning record.
- 5:53Speaker 6: He's like, we're good. We're a good team, all right,
- 5:55Speaker 6: but it is You could see his frustration because it's
- 5:58Speaker 6: been the same kind of theme for a while now.
- 6:00Speaker 6: The Yankees are bullies. They hammer all the bad teams.
- 6:03Speaker 6: They bludged the bad teams. They play a good team.
- 6:05Speaker 6: They have a little bit of an issue. I think
- 6:07Speaker 6: this year it's different, But it was funny to see
- 6:09Speaker 6: Boone's frustration with it after they get swept. I mean,
- 6:11Speaker 6: there was a tight series. They're losing these game one
- 6:13Speaker 6: run games against the Brewers.
- 6:15Speaker 7: Just so happened.
- 6:15Speaker 6: It wasn't their weekend, that's all.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, Taylor, you have a blow to you And
- 6:20Speaker 1: Taylor has a glow.
- 6:21Speaker 2: You guys see the glow.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It's not the knicks, by the way, like the did
- 6:25Speaker 1: you sit on Like what happened? Did you lay on
- 6:27Speaker 1: the fucking sun over the weekend?
- 6:28Speaker 7: Like big weekend for boating?
- 6:31Speaker 2: Oh really?
- 6:32Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 6:32Speaker 2: Really? Whose boat is he? Oh?
- 6:38Speaker 1: Oh, that's that's why we got the picture of Taylor
- 6:41Speaker 1: sleeping on the boat.
- 6:42Speaker 7: What happened?
- 6:43Speaker 2: Why were we you sleeping to a bunch of your
- 6:45Speaker 2: party the night before.
- 6:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 5: So I just have a very low social battery almost.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Think of it like an iPhone that's like twenty years old,
- 6:53Speaker 5: you know, the battery health, like my battery health. When
- 6:56Speaker 5: I go out, it starts on about ten percent. It's
- 6:58Speaker 5: it's it's pop up low percentage, go to low battery
- 7:02Speaker 5: mode very early.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I understand that, Taylor.
- 7:06Speaker 4: I want to pay you a compliment. You're a brave man.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I mean to be on a boat with Israel Gutierras
- 7:12Speaker 3: and take your shirt off in front of that guy,
- 7:14Speaker 3: that guy take it no like hey could for you,
- 7:17Speaker 3: because I would be wearing a down parka. If I
- 7:20Speaker 3: was on a boat with Eazy Goudieraz and he took
- 7:22Speaker 3: his shirt off, right, No, no way.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I wouldn't dare take my shirt off. Let's be honest.
- 7:27Speaker 2: You and I aren't taking our shirts off. If anyone's
- 7:29Speaker 2: on that boat.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Oh I don't care.
- 7:31Speaker 7: I don't care.
- 7:32Speaker 4: But if he's got an extra ab.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I'm getting it.
- 7:34Speaker 4: No, no thanks.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Waite, Taylor. So I just want to get back to this.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So you have about twenty to thirty minutes of social
- 7:43Speaker 1: interaction inside of you and then once that's over with,
- 7:47Speaker 1: Once you get that over with, you just fall asleep.
- 7:49Speaker 2: That's it.
- 7:50Speaker 5: Like yeah, so is He and Anthony had their friends
- 7:54Speaker 5: on the boat. My girlfriend was on the boat too.
- 7:56Speaker 5: We were in the water, like docked and and I'm
- 8:00Speaker 5: on the sand talking to some people and the conversation
- 8:04Speaker 5: reaches a certain point and I kind of look at
- 8:06Speaker 5: people and say, hey, we just we just reached my
- 8:09Speaker 5: limit here I'm going on.
- 8:10Speaker 3: They were in the middle of they called about.
- 8:14Speaker 7: The dog you gotta go has an alarm that goes off.
- 8:17Speaker 5: Somebody was in the middle of their sentence and I said, oh, sorry,
- 8:20Speaker 5: I hate to cut you off.
- 8:21Speaker 7: There, we're at capacity.
- 8:23Speaker 1: When the battery is recharged, you can finish, put a
- 8:26Speaker 1: bookmark in it, and finish after taking a nap.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I mean, if you ever win the lottery, just hire
- 8:32Speaker 3: an umpire from your softball league to follow you around
- 8:35Speaker 3: and just go time.
- 8:38Speaker 4: I think that matters.
- 8:40Speaker 6: It sounds great, but my thought process goes to, Okay, well,
- 8:44Speaker 6: what is your girlfriend thinking that I'm with you, I'd
- 8:46Speaker 6: like to check out and go take a nap. How
- 8:48Speaker 6: does your girlfriend respond to that?
- 8:49Speaker 5: So she's the social one she handles, she looks at
- 8:54Speaker 5: it as.
- 8:55Speaker 2: She handles the talking where where a pair.
- 8:57Speaker 7: She handles the social responsibilities.
- 9:00Speaker 6: See that would not fly for me. My wife be like,
- 9:02Speaker 6: what are you doing? You gotta come on, we're here.
- 9:04Speaker 6: You got you look like a grump. You're not happy
- 9:06Speaker 6: to be here. I go, there's a reason why I
- 9:08Speaker 6: look like that.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I'm not happy?
- 9:09Speaker 4: Oh so I look like the truth?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, exactly, I look how I feel? Right?
- 9:14Speaker 7: Why do you look so miserable? Why do you think
- 9:16Speaker 7: I look so miserable?
- 9:17Speaker 4: Do the math.
- 9:18Speaker 7: That's not that hard to figure out.
- 9:19Speaker 6: But I wouldn't be able to get away with that,
- 9:20Speaker 6: Like Taylor take a nap.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But you're married, he's got he's got a girlfriend. You're
- 9:23Speaker 1: married with a kid. Big different, even worse.
- 9:26Speaker 7: I should be able to do that at this point.
- 9:28Speaker 6: I already put in the work. I put in the
- 9:29Speaker 6: hard work trying to get my wife to marry me.
- 9:31Speaker 6: And then, because that's it, he can be put in
- 9:33Speaker 6: the work.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:34Speaker 2: You put them work in, you put the years in.
- 9:36Speaker 1: You have a child, you're a great dad, you're a
- 9:38Speaker 1: great husband.
- 9:39Speaker 2: You should be.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Affording the opportunities over Yeah, yes, I'm taking a.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Nap and yell like out time.
- 9:44Speaker 1: In the middle of his sentence, Taylor is still trying
- 9:47Speaker 1: to woo this person, and yet he.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Doesn't give him bleep because falls asleep. You're right, I'm sorry.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Either we're talking about Jalen Brunson or I'm done with
- 9:58Speaker 3: this conversation, right.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And you know is he ain't talking about Brunson. So
- 10:06Speaker 2: so good.
- 10:07Speaker 1: All right, let's get here sal By the way, we're
- 10:09Speaker 1: gonna have landed Donovan on towards the end of this hour.
- 10:11Speaker 2: You went to the World Cup at all? You went
- 10:12Speaker 2: to soccer?
- 10:13Speaker 6: No, especially being that it's taken right to down the
- 10:16Speaker 6: block from my house here. I want to get out
- 10:17Speaker 6: of Jersey for the month when they come here, but
- 10:19Speaker 6: maybe a little bit.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Rent your place, yeah right, Prices are insane, commuting traffic, it's.
- 10:25Speaker 6: Gonna be a nightmare around here. Non soccer fans like me.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Would you rent the place out though, to a soccer fan,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I mean to get top dollar for that?
- 10:32Speaker 6: Potentially, Yes, we have to. We have to consider that
- 10:35Speaker 6: you should.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Rent it out and not tell your wife and just
- 10:37Speaker 1: have two strangers kind to show up to the house.
- 10:39Speaker 2: She's stuck with them for a month.
- 10:42Speaker 6: Go lift with my mom for a month.
- 10:43Speaker 2: That'll go well.
- 10:45Speaker 3: So I bought four tickets to the World Cup at MetLife,
- 10:49Speaker 3: and I was I spent an absorbent amount of money
- 10:53Speaker 3: for these tickets.
- 10:54Speaker 4: But I am drawing the line.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I am not spending one hundred and fifty dollars per
- 10:58Speaker 3: person that uh they want to charge for you to
- 11:00Speaker 3: take the train in. Now that I hear you live
- 11:03Speaker 3: right there, I'm starting to think maybe there's some sort
- 11:05Speaker 3: of sal uber situation where I drive to your house
- 11:09Speaker 3: and then you drop me off.
- 11:10Speaker 4: And pick me up, and maybe I'm back going to
- 11:12Speaker 4: the game.
- 11:13Speaker 6: Possibly we could discuss it.
- 11:17Speaker 4: I won't I won't charge.
- 11:18Speaker 6: As much as Metlafe.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I can guarantee you that, Yes, but possibly he needs
- 11:21Speaker 1: it never fucking happening. Yes, letting the hell alone, your wife,
- 11:28Speaker 1: secrets for your mother and your and your wife.
- 11:30Speaker 4: I think I could get it. I think I could negotiate.
- 11:32Speaker 6: You want to use the driveway or parking in front
- 11:34Speaker 6: of my house?
- 11:35Speaker 7: You're good to go? Driving you there.
- 11:36Speaker 6: I don't know if I could go that far.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Fahanheim, All right, let's get to the UH. We can
- 11:41Speaker 1: observations sad. I'm in a hotel. I don't want to
- 11:46Speaker 1: yell too loud, not good enough for Mikey sad. For
- 11:52Speaker 1: almost two decades there with a laughing stock of the NBA.
- 11:56Speaker 1: We're the only thing meaningful in may to them was
- 11:59Speaker 1: the raft lottery.
- 12:01Speaker 2: But then one.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Free agent signing completely changed the franchise's trajectory and return
- 12:07Speaker 1: them to relevance. Because just like that, make no mistake
- 12:11Speaker 1: about it, for the second consecutive year, in the Eastern
- 12:15Speaker 1: Conference Finals, Sal, the.
- 12:18Speaker 2: New York Knicks are back.
- 12:21Speaker 1: That's back in the Eastern Conference Finals, and we want more.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yes, I know, Hey, Philadelphia fans, do me a favor.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Never mentioned Tyrese Maxi and Jalen Brunson in the same
- 12:37Speaker 1: sentence again, Joel Embiid leads the league in hobbling. Taylor
- 12:41Speaker 1: put that on the poll to Joellenbiid lead the league
- 12:45Speaker 1: in hobbling.
- 12:45Speaker 2: He does. He's always hobbling.
- 12:47Speaker 1: If you looked up crafty in the dictionary, Sal, do
- 12:51Speaker 1: you know what you'd see?
- 12:53Speaker 6: What's that stue?
- 12:54Speaker 1: A picture of Jalen Brunson. I didn't need to set
- 12:59Speaker 1: it up that way. It was ridiculous. I'm sorry I
- 13:01Speaker 1: did that for you. Philadelphia getting their home arena take
- 13:05Speaker 1: it over by Nick fans pathetic.
- 13:08Speaker 2: You know what the P in Philadelphia stands for? Sal
- 13:11Speaker 2: what's that pathetic? It was right there for you. I mean,
- 13:15Speaker 2: what's the matter with you? Wake up?
- 13:18Speaker 1: After careful consideration, Philadelphia is great Sports City. Card has
- 13:23Speaker 1: officially been revoked. They can reapply when the Eagles report
- 13:27Speaker 1: the training camp. They're not good Eagle fans either. Philadelphia
- 13:32Speaker 1: fans are disaster, they really are. I mean, winning's not
- 13:35Speaker 1: enough for them.
- 13:36Speaker 6: Eagles might be going the wrong way too.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Who knows, they might be putting on the pole of
- 13:40Speaker 2: the Eagles going the wrong way.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Taylor May Sixers Flyers both getting swept in the second
- 13:47Speaker 1: round the New Philly Special It's good Joel Embiid saying
- 13:54Speaker 1: the season was a success minutes after getting swept in
- 13:57Speaker 1: the second round.
- 14:02Speaker 2: The E, M and B and EMB stands for embarrassing.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Joke for a city whose idol is a fictional boxer.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Philadelphia didn't put up much of a fight.
- 14:17Speaker 7: They should take that statue down.
- 14:19Speaker 6: Hey, don't bring Rocky in this. Yeah he's still.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Why yeah, why are you getting Rocky? Like? Why does
- 14:24Speaker 2: why do you have to take the statue down?
- 14:26Speaker 5: Because Sally was saying, oh, it's not on the the
- 14:29Speaker 5: Sixers fans. It's on the Sixers. What they quit down
- 14:33Speaker 5: three to zero in a series like like they had
- 14:35Speaker 5: no chance for a comeback. You guys all run up
- 14:37Speaker 5: these Rocky stairs, Oh praise all hail Rocky, and then
- 14:40Speaker 5: you quit it the first time of adversity six Ers.
- 14:44Speaker 2: But it's not Rocky's fault.
- 14:45Speaker 4: They don't deserve the statue.
- 14:47Speaker 7: I think is what give us that statue? The statue
- 14:49Speaker 7: stain Taylor.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Listen, when we have the parade past the Wells Fargo,
- 14:53Speaker 1: we could take take the statue, just take it with us,
- 14:58Speaker 1: take it with us back raid route, and just take
- 15:01Speaker 1: it back with us.
- 15:02Speaker 6: At so one point, Rocky belongs to New York more
- 15:04Speaker 6: than he does Philly. I love that idea.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Put it on the pall. Should the Rocky statue be
- 15:07Speaker 1: moved to New York?
- 15:12Speaker 2: It's a great question.
- 15:13Speaker 1: The biggest winner from nick seventy six ers was the
- 15:17Speaker 1: Hawks for winning two games since true credit to Mike
- 15:23Speaker 1: Brown for finally getting Karl Anthony Towns more involved in
- 15:27Speaker 1: the last seven games. Knicks fans have only been saying
- 15:30Speaker 1: that all year. Cat I love the Taylor. It's Taylor's observation.
- 15:38Speaker 1: But Nick fans honestly think they're a better coach.
- 15:40Speaker 2: They're better coaches than Mike Brown.
- 15:43Speaker 7: They do.
- 15:44Speaker 5: They don the WFA and call line right now would
- 15:47Speaker 5: win Coach of the Year.
- 15:47Speaker 6: I think, yeah, probably it has been all regular season.
- 15:50Speaker 6: I'm sure. See, we told you this is what you
- 15:52Speaker 6: should have been doing. Thanks for waking up and listening
- 15:54Speaker 6: to us and some hosts. Some hosts I'm sure taking
- 15:57Speaker 6: credit for it today. See I told you, Mike Brown
- 15:59Speaker 6: listened to us. You finally got Cat.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Moore involved, Yes, named the host gohead. I don't know.
- 16:06Speaker 6: I haven't listened in a year.
- 16:08Speaker 8: He still.
- 16:11Speaker 6: I couldn't tell you a lineup after I got booted.
- 16:13Speaker 2: He's still scored. Oh my god, I love that. When
- 16:15Speaker 2: will you go back? Ever?
- 16:16Speaker 6: Like, just not anytime soon?
- 16:20Speaker 1: Uh?
- 16:21Speaker 2: Fitting that the last.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Basket scored in the Knicks sweep of the Sixers was
- 16:26Speaker 1: by somebody named Broom.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Lamello Ball naming his son the one ball, the one ball.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I thought that was Lance Armstrong's nickname. No good from
- 16:51Speaker 1: somebody with the last name Wiener. Good luck once you
- 16:55Speaker 1: get to middle school, low one ball?
- 17:01Speaker 7: What is he thinking?
- 17:05Speaker 1: Will one ball the Reds are a dead last in
- 17:08Speaker 1: the NL Central. What would be the third best team
- 17:11Speaker 1: in the Major League?
- 17:13Speaker 2: You know what they say, So what's that? That's baseball?
- 17:16Speaker 1: That's baseball, way, Taylor, Are you telling me right now?
- 17:19Speaker 1: They're dead last in the NL Central but will be third?
- 17:22Speaker 2: Where?
- 17:22Speaker 1: What do you mean third best team? They have the
- 17:24Speaker 1: third best record?
- 17:25Speaker 5: They would they would have the third best record in
- 17:28Speaker 5: the in the American League if they were an American
- 17:30Speaker 5: League team, behind the Rays and the Yankees.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Okay, so American League all right?
- 17:35Speaker 1: Uh sabers Canadians chippy it is? It was I'm confused
- 17:43Speaker 1: by the Reds observation. Mike y y, there is dead lass.
- 17:46Speaker 5: It says, this is why you're supposed to write them
- 17:50Speaker 5: back and give notes back where we could have caught this.
- 17:54Speaker 7: A little earlier.
- 17:56Speaker 5: Right now, I'm lashing out, it says MB. Yes, I know,
- 17:58Speaker 5: it says MB.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Last out right, you're lasting out at me for not
- 18:03Speaker 2: correcting your work. I'm so proud of you.
- 18:11Speaker 4: I want to hug you.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Okay, sees garbage time lineup would be a playoff team.
- 18:22Speaker 1: That is so true, a two seat Perhaps Sam Presty
- 18:26Speaker 1: should get a statue outside the Thunders arena. Sam Presty
- 18:29Speaker 1: is the best in the game, right sal He's the
- 18:31Speaker 1: best doing.
- 18:31Speaker 2: It right now.
- 18:31Speaker 6: Sure, well, I mean, I don't know Leon Rose making a.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Man Lakers Thunders. I know Game five is if necessary,
- 18:44Speaker 1: but if we're being honest, game four doesn't feel necessary either.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Cleveland Cavaliers the rare team that's played ten playoff games
- 18:57Speaker 1: and still hasn't.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Had a series start yet. It's true they haven't started.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I don't want to road again. I mean, it's.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Funny once every few Sunday afternoons. You once every few
- 19:10Speaker 1: Sunday afternoons, of my apologies, you could set your watch
- 19:14Speaker 1: to turning into CBS, to tuning into CBS just in
- 19:17Speaker 1: time to see Ricky Fowler blow a random tournament event.
- 19:21Speaker 1: It's a tradition, unlike any other. Taylor wrote the observations
- 19:24Speaker 1: this week. I did not proofread them. I should have,
- 19:27Speaker 1: but Taylor wrote him. I didn't proof read him.
- 19:29Speaker 2: But he is right.
- 19:30Speaker 1: It's a tradition, unlike any other watching into CBS to
- 19:34Speaker 1: see Ricky Fowler blow a random tournament that nobody fucking
- 19:38Speaker 1: cares about.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Yes, I like Ricky Fowler.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Taylor. Oh, he used to be something.
- 19:45Speaker 7: I mean, was he ever something?
- 19:47Speaker 2: Really? Yes, he was. He was a top ten golfer
- 19:50Speaker 2: at one point.
- 19:52Speaker 7: Ever won a major.
- 19:53Speaker 1: He never won a major. He flirted with winning a major.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I don't know what happened to him. He kind of
- 19:57Speaker 1: went away for a year year and a half. I
- 19:59Speaker 1: think he was a rider Cup teams though, like Britney
- 20:01Speaker 1: Foller was a good golfer. Megan Grant passing Lauren Espinosa
- 20:07Speaker 1: for the college softball single season home run record. Tip
- 20:11Speaker 1: of the Advisor serves it, you have advisor to tip
- 20:19Speaker 1: anyone who is a visor, who's wearing advisor?
- 20:22Speaker 2: John Gruden?
- 20:23Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you had a quick answer for me.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards putting the Timberwolves on his back, Timberwolves winning ugly.
- 20:35Speaker 2: You know what they say about an ugly win. A
- 20:39Speaker 2: win is a win.
- 20:40Speaker 6: Oh yeah I did not.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I do say that.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Yes, great weekend to be out in a boat.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Top five athletes that can oup voting O l I
- 20:50Speaker 1: Chris sale that guy's good win a sye Young, he's
- 20:53Speaker 1: good Chris Sale Man, Jesus christ O l I number
- 20:57Speaker 1: two bredhole number five, Derek Jeter, the captain.
- 21:04Speaker 2: H took you a second there, Yes, number four Boo booie.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Former Northwestern point guard Boo booie.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I should have preferend these is Doug blank on here.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I haven't looked at the rest of the list.
- 21:27Speaker 1: It's more of a pirate ship. But you get what
- 21:29Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's not silly. Walk the plank. Number three,
- 21:32Speaker 1: David Stern, Number two, Cameron Wake and number one. You
- 21:42Speaker 1: can't do this, Doc Goodin, he spelled Doc do oz k.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Come on, just to make sure.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Here come the Brewers, the brew brew.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Carolina Hurricanes might want to mix it a good loss
- 22:04Speaker 1: before it's too late.
- 22:05Speaker 2: He's right about that.
- 22:06Speaker 1: You want to lose one before you get to the
- 22:07Speaker 1: Stanley Cup, you do, I mean the Hurricanes.
- 22:12Speaker 2: They start to think it's too easy. It's not that easy.
- 22:14Speaker 7: What would happen to the Knicks?
- 22:15Speaker 2: It's been that easy. Yes, they had well right the way. Yeah,
- 22:21Speaker 2: out of the web.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Hey Netflix, I will always skip the intro. Don't even
- 22:25Speaker 1: bother asking me. The next time I don't skip the
- 22:34Speaker 1: intro will be the first time. I like a good intro.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I don't know about you, guys.
- 22:41Speaker 6: I mean always skipped the intro.
- 22:44Speaker 2: You're on your own.
- 22:45Speaker 3: I'll watch it once, just to see what it's all about,
- 22:47Speaker 3: and then I never want to see it again.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Recap.
- 22:50Speaker 5: Ye, the only intro I won't skip is sopranos normally.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Okay, Taylor put it on the pole. Do you like
- 22:56Speaker 2: a good intro?
- 22:58Speaker 6: I mean.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I do. I like them.
- 23:01Speaker 1: The Yankees getting swept by the Brewers. You know what
- 23:04Speaker 1: was on the menu in Milwaukee, sound sausage, some humble.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Pie, Oh yes, tailor sold of shade. There are more
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yankee Brewers observations here.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Jesus Spencer Jones striking out in fifty five percent of
- 23:20Speaker 1: his at bats.
- 23:22Speaker 2: You know what the essence Spence Spencer Jones stands for?
- 23:25Speaker 2: Sound strikeout? Okay, Oh, I didn't like that. You had
- 23:32Speaker 2: the answer.
- 23:33Speaker 1: The Washington Wizards winning the lottery. You know what the
- 23:36Speaker 1: W in Washington or Wizard stands for. I don't won
- 23:40Speaker 1: the lottery, Malika Andrews.
- 23:43Speaker 2: I mean, it's right there for you, dude.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Malika Andrews saying the W in Washington stands for wow
- 23:49Speaker 1: after they won the lottery.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Hey, Malika, get your own material. I'm okay with her
- 23:57Speaker 2: stealing my material.
- 24:01Speaker 1: It's for so it drives me crazy. If the NBA
- 24:07Speaker 1: lottery was fixed the NBA didn't get the message.
- 24:12Speaker 7: Such a boring lottery.
- 24:14Speaker 2: It's terrible.
- 24:14Speaker 7: It does grisly jazz.
- 24:16Speaker 2: It's only exciting with the nigger.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 6: I haven't cared about the lottery in years. I'm worried
- 24:22Speaker 6: about the Eastern Conference finals.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Come on, I'm worried about the finals. Yeah. Right.
- 24:27Speaker 5: People were like, maybe the Warriors will jump up to one,
- 24:31Speaker 5: maybe the Heat will jump up. The Thunder had a
- 24:34Speaker 5: chance to move up in the lottery. A lot of
- 24:36Speaker 5: a lot of potential moves. Where if the lottery was fixed,
- 24:41Speaker 5: you think the NBA would try to get involved.
- 24:43Speaker 2: A little bit and not give it to Washington.
- 24:47Speaker 7: Correct.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Yes, the Kings won only twenty two games just to
- 24:52Speaker 1: end up with the seventh pick. Their fans are in hell.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Speaking of hell, are Briles sound though? Are the we
- 25:01Speaker 1: Ken observations very exciting? Landon Donovan is with us. He
- 25:07Speaker 1: was asking us Nicks questions right before we got started here.
- 25:10Speaker 1: He is with us on behalf of Nest Cafe Espresso. Keg,
- 25:14Speaker 1: what are you doing with them? Landing before we get
- 25:16Speaker 1: to the Knicks and maybe some soccer.
- 25:19Speaker 8: Well, I grew up with next Cafe. My mom had
- 25:21Speaker 8: it in the home growing up, so it's nostalgic for me.
- 25:24Speaker 9: But as we get to.
- 25:25Speaker 8: The Knicks, imagine the Knicks playing four times a day,
- 25:28Speaker 8: every day.
- 25:30Speaker 9: For thirty nine days.
- 25:31Speaker 8: It's just what the World Cup's going to be this summer.
- 25:33Speaker 8: And we have an ability to talk about soccer twenty
- 25:36Speaker 8: four to seven, and I think the best way to
- 25:39Speaker 8: do it is with Nest Cafe and connecting before the game,
- 25:43Speaker 8: after the game, continuing to talk about this sport.
- 25:46Speaker 9: That I love so much.
- 25:47Speaker 1: How many espressed espressos does Landon Donovan have in a day, Well, when.
- 25:53Speaker 8: I'm working the World Cup, it's going to be like
- 25:55Speaker 8: two or three. As you know, when you're working sporting
- 26:00Speaker 8: events like that, it's a grind. So I have the
- 26:04Speaker 8: the amazing opportunity to call the games, but it's a
- 26:07Speaker 8: lot of work and nes Cafe helps me stay energized
- 26:10Speaker 8: throughout it.
- 26:11Speaker 10: Land and I got a bunch of World Cup questions,
- 26:13Speaker 10: But I really want to ask you a next question
- 26:14Speaker 10: because you're asking about the next He's excited level of fandom.
- 26:18Speaker 2: How excited are you with him?
- 26:21Speaker 8: Well, I'm just I like to see teams that have
- 26:24Speaker 8: perpetually suffered do well. In some cases, I've gotten to
- 26:29Speaker 8: know Jerry Ferrara, who was Turned On Entourage pretty well,
- 26:33Speaker 8: and he's a die hard Knicks fan. So we were at
- 26:35Speaker 8: an event last month together and he has so much
- 26:39Speaker 8: anxiety around this, so to see them doing well makes
- 26:42Speaker 8: me happy for him and happy for Knicks fans.
- 26:44Speaker 5: Landon, we're running into a problem where we would love
- 26:46Speaker 5: to sit court side at a Knicks playoff game, but
- 26:49Speaker 5: we don't really have an inn. You could stroll into
- 26:52Speaker 5: Madison Square Garden tomorrow and they'll put you right there.
- 26:55Speaker 7: That's right. Could we come to the game with you potentially? Maybe?
- 26:57Speaker 2: What do you think I mean we need?
- 26:59Speaker 9: Yeah, you need to call Jerry. I think we can
- 27:01Speaker 9: get you.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Wait, you've never sat court side for the next game? No, sir, really,
- 27:08Speaker 2: I would love to. Yeah.
- 27:09Speaker 8: You know what I would actually prefer to do at
- 27:12Speaker 8: MSG is go to a Billy Joel concert.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Really, can you help me do that?
- 27:16Speaker 1: Uh? Listen, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. I'll
- 27:19Speaker 1: get you to Billy Joel. You get me court side
- 27:21Speaker 1: for a next game, and we're good. I'll take pre season.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Landed.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Have you been frustrated because I've been railing against US
- 27:30Speaker 1: Men's soccer, and I'm sorry to do that, okay, but
- 27:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest with you and tell you because
- 27:34Speaker 1: I've been hearing since the nineteen eighties that this is it,
- 27:37Speaker 1: this is the soccer splurge, that we're finally going to
- 27:41Speaker 1: see the explosion of men's soccer in the United States,
- 27:44Speaker 1: and yet it's never happened, and I'm wondering why it
- 27:47Speaker 1: hasn't happened. And if you're frustrated over the fact that
- 27:49Speaker 1: it hasn't happened.
- 27:50Speaker 9: Yet, well I view it a little bit differently.
- 27:54Speaker 8: And this is not believe me, not drinking the kooli
- 27:56Speaker 8: because I'm as critical as anybody. But we want things
- 28:00Speaker 8: in society to happen right away, and the reality is
- 28:03Speaker 8: if you look at bejor League Baseball, the NFL, the NBA,
- 28:06Speaker 8: in the early days, they weren't what they are now, right,
- 28:09Speaker 8: so this takes time to build. My frustration is in
- 28:13Speaker 8: two thousand and two I played in a World Cup
- 28:15Speaker 8: in South Korea. We got to the quarterfinals, and that
- 28:19Speaker 8: is still the furthest we've ever got. And so my
- 28:22Speaker 8: frustration is not about off the field and the growth.
- 28:25Speaker 8: I think the growth of soccer in this country has
- 28:27Speaker 8: been amazing, it's more on the field. Why we haven't
- 28:29Speaker 8: eclipse that? And there was a study just came out recently.
- 28:32Speaker 8: They asked, I think it was a thousand Americans what
- 28:35Speaker 8: their favorite sport was. NFL was number one, as predictable,
- 28:40Speaker 8: NBA was number two, Soccer was number three for the
- 28:43Speaker 8: first time, ahead of baseball and hockey, And so the
- 28:46Speaker 8: sport is growing off the field. But my frustration sometimes
- 28:49Speaker 8: lies with why haven't we achieved more on the field.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Why haven't we.
- 28:56Speaker 9: I'm gonna stay off my soapbox here, but I'll keep
- 28:59Speaker 9: this breeze.
- 29:00Speaker 8: The reality is is you have to develop players that
- 29:03Speaker 8: are capable of playing at a world class level, and
- 29:07Speaker 8: we just haven't done that. We had more world class
- 29:09Speaker 8: players twenty years ago than we do today, and youth
- 29:13Speaker 8: soccer and youth development in this country needs some work.
- 29:17Speaker 8: So we have to do a better job of that,
- 29:21Speaker 8: and that's how you get players that can succeed at
- 29:23Speaker 8: this level.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Landy, what do you think are realistic expectations for the
- 29:26Speaker 5: US entering this World Cup? Because every time I hear
- 29:29Speaker 5: Poach talk about this team, he's not really getting me
- 29:33Speaker 5: excited when he's like, we don't have any top one
- 29:35Speaker 5: hundred players.
- 29:37Speaker 2: He's low expectations.
- 29:40Speaker 9: You don't have to have top level talent to succeed,
- 29:44Speaker 9: like look at the Knicks.
- 29:45Speaker 2: No, I'm just kidding.
- 29:48Speaker 8: If you have, especially in soccer, if you have eleven
- 29:52Speaker 8: men or women who play well together, if they have
- 29:55Speaker 8: enough quality, you can succeed. Our two thousand and two
- 29:59Speaker 8: team was a great example that we didn't have any
- 30:00Speaker 8: top fifty players in the world on that team, but
- 30:03Speaker 8: we were successful because we were a good team. This
- 30:06Speaker 8: team has better players than any team we've ever had
- 30:10Speaker 8: on the men's side, and so if they're able to
- 30:13Speaker 8: get that part right, continuity and playing well together, they
- 30:17Speaker 8: can do very, very well.
- 30:19Speaker 9: They have a very favorable group.
- 30:21Speaker 8: We should get out of our group no problem, and
- 30:23Speaker 8: we should probably win our group, and from there that
- 30:26Speaker 8: sets you on a path that gives you a really
- 30:27Speaker 8: good chance to go deep into the tournament.
- 30:29Speaker 10: That kind of scares me, to be honest, to say
- 30:31Speaker 10: that a US team should get out of the group
- 30:34Speaker 10: or should win the group, Like I don't know, I
- 30:36Speaker 10: don't know what.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Nobody's saying it, but I think you're saying soccer fans
- 30:39Speaker 1: could take some solace in this team is good enough
- 30:41Speaker 1: and they're set up correctly for them to have a
- 30:43Speaker 1: good World Cup.
- 30:45Speaker 9: Yeah, and they look you have to perform right that.
- 30:47Speaker 8: The reality with soccer, not dissimilar from the Olympics, is
- 30:52Speaker 8: every four years you have the ability to do something
- 30:56Speaker 8: really special that grows the sport more than anything in
- 30:59Speaker 8: the prior years could do. So they have an opportunity
- 31:03Speaker 8: this summer, especially with it being on home soil, to
- 31:05Speaker 8: really push the sport forward.
- 31:07Speaker 10: Landon obviously played in World Cups, attended other World Cups,
- 31:10Speaker 10: and it is such you know, it is the world
- 31:12Speaker 10: sporting event, right, but it feels like, and correct me
- 31:15Speaker 10: if I'm wrong here, it feels like it's getting some
- 31:17Speaker 10: bad pr here in North America just from some of
- 31:20Speaker 10: the whether it be the cost situation, ticket prices, transportation,
- 31:24Speaker 10: what have you. For Somebody who has the perspective of
- 31:27Speaker 10: understanding how massive these events are, are we getting prematurely upset?
- 31:32Speaker 10: Will it live up to, you know, expectations of this
- 31:35Speaker 10: event that we love here in our country or in
- 31:38Speaker 10: this continent, or is it you know, is some of
- 31:40Speaker 10: the things that are approaching as its tournament approach is
- 31:43Speaker 10: really questioning or questionable Rather.
- 31:47Speaker 8: Yes, we're going to have the level of excitement and
- 31:49Speaker 8: it's going to meet and exceed the expectations. Every World
- 31:52Speaker 8: Cup I've been a part of since I can remember,
- 31:56Speaker 8: there's this quiet.
- 31:58Speaker 9: Period about a month or two before the World Up
- 32:00Speaker 9: where there's.
- 32:00Speaker 8: No qualifiers, the rosters haven't been announced yet, the teams
- 32:04Speaker 8: have already been drawn into.
- 32:05Speaker 9: The groups, and so there's really nothing to talk.
- 32:07Speaker 8: About, right, and so you start to hear blurbs of
- 32:11Speaker 8: disappointment or this or Every World Cup I've been a
- 32:14Speaker 8: part of has been spectacular. There's been no issues, and
- 32:17Speaker 8: I fully anticipate the exact same to happen this summer.
- 32:21Speaker 8: Once we get into June, all of this will dissipate
- 32:24Speaker 8: and and people be really excited to connect around this
- 32:28Speaker 8: beautiful game.
- 32:29Speaker 5: Landon, you had a loan spell at Everton. I'm a
- 32:32Speaker 5: Liverpool guy. But what we'll save that.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Worse?
- 32:39Speaker 5: Could you explain to people in the US that maybe
- 32:42Speaker 5: aren't following the Premier League that closely the disaster that
- 32:45Speaker 5: would be Tottenham getting relegated and going down.
- 32:50Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean I'll equate it to your neck of
- 32:53Speaker 9: the woods. It would like it would be like the.
- 32:55Speaker 8: Yankees finishing in last place and playing in Triple A
- 32:58Speaker 8: next year because of that. And so in the soccer world,
- 33:02Speaker 8: if you finish in the bottom three of the English
- 33:04Speaker 8: Premier League, you move down to the division lower. And
- 33:08Speaker 8: so can you imagine the Yankees playing the you know,
- 33:12Speaker 8: Hot Tucket Red Sox every game or during the year
- 33:17Speaker 8: next year and some other team coming up that is
- 33:20Speaker 8: the equivalent of it. And so there's a massive story
- 33:23Speaker 8: going on in England that Tottenham, one of the historically
- 33:26Speaker 8: best teams, may end up getting relegated to a division below.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Land In we'll get to Taylor's soccer roles that he
- 33:34Speaker 1: wants to apply to us sports in just a second.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I am wondering if you could explain to the audience
- 33:39Speaker 1: here the difference, at least from your perspective of playing
- 33:43Speaker 1: in a World Cup soccer game as opposed to any
- 33:45Speaker 1: other soccer match.
- 33:48Speaker 9: Yeah, again, I'll use sports analogy.
- 33:50Speaker 8: So Yankees, Red Sox or Nick Knicks, Nets or Nick
- 33:53Speaker 8: Sixers or you have that pride and that passion for
- 33:57Speaker 8: your city and your team, and we have that with
- 34:00Speaker 8: regular soccer matches with our club teams. The difference in
- 34:03Speaker 8: a World Cup is you're putting national pride on top
- 34:06Speaker 8: of that.
- 34:07Speaker 9: So when you think about the.
- 34:09Speaker 8: Greatest college football rivalries and the intensity and how the
- 34:12Speaker 8: fans feel, now add national pride to that. And so
- 34:16Speaker 8: if you get a chance to go to a game,
- 34:18Speaker 8: I would absolutely recommend people do it because it is
- 34:21Speaker 8: unlike any sporting event you'll ever see in your life.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Landon.
- 34:24Speaker 5: The one that I really want to bring over is
- 34:26Speaker 5: players going on loan where teams like the Marlins need money. Yeah,
- 34:30Speaker 5: so they could just take like, you know, twenty million
- 34:32Speaker 5: dollars to loan out some of their best players.
- 34:34Speaker 7: The Yankees, You think that could work in American.
- 34:36Speaker 9: Actually, I actually love that.
- 34:38Speaker 2: I guess I love it in all sports.
- 34:39Speaker 8: Or it's it's more like, if the Yankees have a
- 34:44Speaker 8: really good prospect, but he's you know, sitting behind Aaron
- 34:48Speaker 8: Judge and he's not going to play for two, three, four,
- 34:50Speaker 8: can you loan him to a team that has less
- 34:53Speaker 8: money that you know and needs him and let him
- 34:55Speaker 8: play there for the year.
- 34:56Speaker 9: I think that's a great idea.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Who's not a threat, like, you know, he's not a
- 34:59Speaker 2: threat to you?
- 35:00Speaker 9: Right?
- 35:00Speaker 8: You want maybe to the other conference or the other
- 35:04Speaker 8: the National League or you know.
- 35:05Speaker 10: Yeah, last quick thing landed is there. If there's a
- 35:07Speaker 10: guy on the team who would be more of a
- 35:09Speaker 10: household name by the end of this World Cup on
- 35:11Speaker 10: the US team, who would.
- 35:12Speaker 8: That be, Well, there's a few who some people will
- 35:16Speaker 8: know are people who fall soccer, Christian Polisic for sure.
- 35:20Speaker 8: I think Weston McKenny, who plays in Italy as well
- 35:23Speaker 8: for Juventus. He's playing literally the best soccer of his
- 35:26Speaker 8: life right now heading into the tournament. And he's also charismatic,
- 35:31Speaker 8: very like good on camera, fun to be around. I
- 35:34Speaker 8: think if he performs well, he could absolutely be the
- 35:37Speaker 8: breakout star for our team this World Cup.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Right, final question, We'll get you out of here and
- 35:40Speaker 1: promote nest Cafe one more time. We play a game
- 35:43Speaker 1: around here. PK for your life? Okay, you have to
- 35:45Speaker 1: choose a guy to take a penalty kick and your
- 35:47Speaker 1: life depends on it, all, right, Messi or Ronaldo?
- 35:51Speaker 2: Right?
- 35:51Speaker 1: Which one? Messi? Ronaldo? PK for your life. It's a
- 35:54Speaker 1: tough one.
- 35:55Speaker 10: Yes, I take either, but feeling pretty good about your life,
- 36:00Speaker 10: I'll say Messy because he's won.
- 36:01Speaker 8: A World Cup, so he can handle the pressure, and
- 36:03Speaker 8: he's had so much pressure on him his whole career.
- 36:05Speaker 2: All right, Len, we appreciate the time.
- 36:07Speaker 1: One more time on the way out, if you don't mind,
- 36:09Speaker 1: please promote what it is you're doing with Nest Cafe.
- 36:12Speaker 8: There were encouraging people to connect through the game that
- 36:17Speaker 8: I really love. And there are going to be four
- 36:19Speaker 8: games a day for most days. So wake up, have
- 36:22Speaker 8: a coffee in between the games. Connect you have you
- 36:25Speaker 8: know both of the haves, and think of this as
- 36:27Speaker 8: your third half where you're talking about the game and
- 36:30Speaker 8: connecting with people you love, using this cafe to help feel.
- 36:34Speaker 2: You all right, and we appreciate it. You're great. I'll
- 36:37Speaker 2: be in touch with you about Billy Joel work on
- 36:40Speaker 2: the Nick floor. Seats for Meerica.
- 36:41Speaker 10: Yes, American sports heroes should always get tickets to whatever
- 36:45Speaker 10: MSGV I think.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Landon doesn't realize he can walk into the Mecca today
- 36:48Speaker 1: and sit court side.
- 36:49Speaker 2: He doesn't realize what a hero he is. He does it.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Thank you, Landon, Ip, You're right all right. Thank soon.
