  Pouring down on top of my car.

  And right before I pulled into the job, it started to get worse and worse.

  I said, well, that's okay. I've got a few minutes.

  I had to do this podcast. And I says, hopefully the rain will just let up for a few minutes.

  The rain is pouring on the outside, but in the inside of this vehicle,
• 2:14
  in the inside of my heart, the sun is shining.

  Last night, I was putting the kids to bed.
• 2:21
  We were singing some songs. And in the background, My daughter says,
• 2:25
  you know, dad, I think your phone is ringing.
• 2:27
  I said, oh, okay, well, no problem. Let's, you know, let's finish the song and
• 2:31
  then I'll get back to whoever called. And something struck me.
• 2:35
  Something said, no, you got to take this call. So I got up and called the number back.
• 2:43
  And it was a couple who were dealing with struggles and concerns,
• 2:49
  worry, and uncertainty.
• 2:52
  A young couple, younger than me, and it brought back memories.
• 2:56
  It brought back the moments when my faith wasn't as strong as it was as it is today.

  And it brought me back to a time when I realized that you definitely need one
• 3:09
  another, that you need to listen to one another.
• 3:13
  In a relationship, it's not easy.
• 3:16
  Relationships are difficult. They're work. It's getting to know one another.
• 3:22
  If relationships were easy, everyone would be in it.
• 3:26
  But what was the most important part of that discussion without getting into detail?
• 3:31
  Sometimes in life, we're overburdened with so much cause and effect, I guess you can say.
• 3:37
  There's a cause that happens within us that makes us uncertain, worried, fearful.
• 3:45
  And the effect is we don't know how to communicate that with one another. We just react.
• 3:52
  We cry, we shake.
• 3:55
  And that is when you need each other the most.
• 3:59
  Relationships and the relationship with Christ come hand in hand.

  The strength that you put into your relationship, the strength that you put
• 4:09
  in the relationship with God is very powerful.

  But one thing I've learned myself is putting God first, is always allowing me
• 4:20
  the opportunity to create a really strong relationship with Christ.

  Because when things from the outside that is out of my control try to get the
• 4:29
  best of me, I know for certain I can reach out to my loved one.
• 4:35
  I can reach out to my wife. I can reach out to a mentor and seek and seek wisdom,
• 4:43
  wisdom that I know that God has provided them to provide to me.
• 4:48
  Sometimes I can't get myself out of a funk. Sometimes I can't get myself out of fear.

  Sometimes I doubt myself. But what I do realize, no matter how many times I'll.

  Get to that point, say God is in control.
• 5:05
  And then when I think about God, and I think about my Lord and Savior,
• 5:10
  and I think about all that he has sacrificed for me, and I think about how much
• 5:14
  he loves me, nothing can bring me down.

  So this morning, I ask all of you to pray for this couple that called me last night.
• 5:23
  I'm not going to give their names out, but let's pray for the relationship.

  Let's pray for understanding. Let's pray for patience.

  Let's pray for family members, and let's pray together and let's do that together
• 5:35
  as we lift you all up in prayer this morning. Let's pray.
