- 0:00But what about Bell Bangor Management Fantasy Hockey
- 0:03Podcast? Woo woo woo.
- 0:08Karaoke woo. Karaoke again for Jackie, who is
- 0:14still not here because he is currently traveling to Japan, I
- 0:17think as we speak, during Kyoto actually.
- 0:19So crazy he's taking his karaoke tour across the globe.
- 0:24It's really serious now. He's like we thought if you guys
- 0:27thought we were joking when he was only in Korea.
- 0:29Now he's actually in Japan and he's going full force.
- 0:31So yeah, listen, am I just be a duo from here on out if Jake his
- 0:35career actually takes off, but. Keep an eye out if you're any
- 0:38BTS fans, you might see a Jakey collab there.
- 0:41That would actually be so cool. I Jaki feeling is the last
- 0:45person I could ever picture doing like a BTS like dance or
- 0:48sing actually loves to sing so. And I mean, he's gonna sing for
- 0:53us when he comes back, right? That's what he promised us.
- 0:55I I do remember him promising that.
- 0:57What did you say? He's you said he promised us
- 0:59that he was his. Favorite song?
- 1:00His go to karaoke song. Exactly.
- 1:02So that's great for the viewers talking about things that the
- 1:07viewers, you know, are expecting.
- 1:11We hit a big milestone recently, which was 200 Discord members,
- 1:15and I think it was there. Was nothing that was promised
- 1:18for that. I think the viewers are owed a a
- 1:22Kevin Booty Shake video, so stay tuned for that.
- 1:27It's going to be lit. But yeah, I don't think we
- 1:30mentioned we are diving into our Week 12 streamers episode and
- 1:35we're super excited to get into this with you guys.

- 1:50I love that, you know, I go through the the YouTube, we go
- 1:53through the Spotify, the wherever, you know, it's great
- 1:56makes us happy. If if you guys like what you
- 1:57hear, then letting us know always makes my day.
- 2:00Definitely join the discord. We hit 200 recently, so that's
- 2:03super, super hype and it's just it's growing and growing and
- 2:08really that's a lot of value there.
- 2:10So obviously #1 value is listening to the pod, but where
- 2:13we get really in depth with our ISIS.
- 2:14But number 2 is joining the discord because we are super
- 2:17active there, especially Kevin. Shout out to Kevin for his his
- 2:21contributions on there. But but yeah, no, it's a it's
- 2:24great. And so, yeah, so let's dive in.
- 2:27But seriously, help us help you. Give us all those ratings and
- 2:30stars and all that yummy fun stuff for us.
- 2:33I'm proud of you, Josh. That was that was a pretty good.
- 2:37Never do that part. It's I I did my best.
- 2:40And listen, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna put it out
- 2:42there, guys. I asked for a new complete
- 2:45computer for my Christmas list. So Santa better deliver.
- 2:50And listen, hopefully we get this stuff figured out.
- 2:53Look. If Santa is a fan, which I bet
- 2:54he is, you know, there's a lot of hockey in the North Pole, so
- 2:57I expect him to deliver the best quality for Kevins that he could
- 3:01get back to, you know, showing his booty.
- 3:03He's actually did the booty shake just now and the camera
- 3:07cut out. They could not handle it.
- 3:09Honestly, it's a it's really unfortunate we have to hit
- 3:12another 100 people in this court before we get the next.
- 3:15Oh no, it was all a ruse the whole time, guys.
- 3:20Yeah, exactly a loss. So yeah, let's let's get into
- 3:24our reputation stakers, our top three choices from Week 11.
- 3:28So last week we recommended Ryan O'Reilly of the Nashville
- 3:33Predators. Since then, three games played,
- 3:35zero goals, 4 assists, 4 points easy W spoiler.
- 3:39He's going to be on our list again.
- 3:41What he's been doing is, is pretty incredible for someone
- 3:44that, you know, I don't think anyone expects that team to
- 3:47provide much offence. So I really expected it to be
- 3:49Forsberg and friends. So O'Reilly being over a point
- 3:52per game over the past month is nuts.
- 3:54That's definitely a big W. We had Ellisland home since
- 3:56then, three games played, zero goals, 2 assists, 2 points, both
- 3:59on the power play. I'm counting that as the W.
- 4:01He's another guy who's like really low roster.
- 4:04Well, I mean he's like 34 now, but he's line 1C on Boston.
- 4:08He has to play with the two best wingers in the league and David
- 4:10Pasternak and Morgan Geekie and I really think that boats going
- 4:14up on that one. And then we did have an L which
- 4:16was Josh done and that was our top choice because I was really
- 4:19hyped on him. So I'm going to take the take
- 4:20the blame for that one. But he had a two games played,
- 4:23no points. I will say he still has two
- 4:25more, yeah or no, he only has one more game this week, but so
- 4:28we'll see what happens. He can still turn it around, but
- 4:31we're going to keep ourselves honest here and count that as an
- 4:33L So that puts us at 20 and seven on the year.
- 4:35That's a pretty still, right, still around 75% on our
- 4:38recommendations, which is pretty sick.
- 4:40Every every week we're recommending 3 players, right?
- 4:43So if we're not getting three on three, it's 66% success rate.
- 4:48So the fact that we're at 75 means that we're hitting three
- 4:50on three more often than not. And also like we we didn't
- 4:54mention that yes, Josh Stone, like he had less games than
- 4:57these other two. First of all, this this last
- 4:59week, but he also has the rest of season upside.
- 5:02And that was reason one of the reasons why we put him so high
- 5:04on the list because he has great deployment.
- 5:07He's on that power play one for Buffalo.
- 5:09And listen with Josh Norris is there the Buffalo power play is
- 5:13going off. So you want you want exposure to
- 5:15it. And I think Josh is still a good
- 5:17pickup moving forward, even if you didn't come through for you
- 5:20with flying colours this last week.
- 5:22Yeah, I fully agree. Like his shots, I like his
- 5:24deployment and Buffalo just made a GM change.
- 5:27GM says they want to be more competitive.
- 5:28So I say keep an eye out on that team and I'm still happy to have
- 5:32done on my on my roster. Did you see the the rumors for
- 5:35the coaching change too? That would be crazy man Lindy
- 5:39Ruff just gets rejected everywhere he goes.
- 5:42I mean there's a couple teams that should should have a
- 5:44coaching change. Like off the top of my mind, LA
- 5:46needs to change coaches. Toronto.
- 5:48Toronto coaches, I think Toronto.
- 5:50The link that I saw was Peter border Toronto.
- 5:52I saw that that would be sick. As a Matthews owner, I'm a I'd
- 5:55be pretty hyped about that. The other rumor I'm seeing, I
- 5:58mean, as we're recording this, the holiday trade freeze has
- 6:02come into effect. So we're not gonna see any
- 6:03changes until after the holidays, but um, I saw.
- 6:06That gorilla? John Tortorella is probably a
- 6:10name of Buffalo would consider even if they probably shouldn't.
- 6:13But I also think Buffalo's gonna probably send out a goalie.
- 6:16Like I think. Yes, I saw that.
- 6:17They got 3 goalies and I think one of them is on their way out
- 6:20and. Edmonton.
- 6:22The I mean, listen, they just Edmonton, I don't know they they
- 6:25all have anymore more cap flexibility, that's for sure.
- 6:28And they don't have a second round pick to send for a goalie
- 6:30anymore any either. But they do have Chris and Jerry
- 6:33on the IR. So as long as that works out
- 6:35for. Them Yeah, no goalie.
- 6:38It's actually unreal how he immediately got injured as could
- 6:42have been predicted by us and was predicted by us.
- 6:44But yeah, no, I definitely. I've been seeing that.
- 6:46I mean, 3 goalies makes no sense.
- 6:48I don't know what Caroline's doing.
- 6:49Buffalo, you know, you gotta trade one and run with the two
- 6:52that are the best. So The thing is.
- 6:54Like wine and PPL have like juice yeah.
- 6:58Whereas nobody want they're not they don't wanna trade busy and
- 7:00they want to trade Chekov. So who's taking Anderson?
- 7:04Someone would take Anderson. I mean, I'm surprised that.
- 7:06Leaves are desperate, I think. I guess I mean for the same.
- 7:09Reasons Cherry like yeah, that's they want to trade for him and
- 7:11then he gets hurt. So that's very fair.
- 7:14But in terms of Buffalo, I mean, Colton Ellis has been really
- 7:17solid and you know, I feel like you got to trade one of those
- 7:20three and they're going to. So it'll be interesting to.
- 7:22Keep. Exactly.
- 7:24They just have too many. Alright, let's dive into our
- 7:26streamers for this week. So this is a weird week.
- 7:29Let's preface that by saying that it's the Christmas week
- 7:33exactly. So you've got games Monday,
- 7:35Tuesday and then Friday, no Saturday, Sunday, but that
- 7:38entire middle part of the week is Christmas break.
- 7:42Happy holidays, everyone. And and a little break from
- 7:45fantasy. I can't.
- 7:46It's a bit bittersweet for me. I mean, I know it's only four
- 7:48days, but. Like on the 1.
- 7:50Usually spending time with family during those days.
- 7:53OK, Merry Christmas. Happy, happy Hanukkah, happy
- 7:56Kwanzaa, happy holidays in general.
- 7:58Yeah, a fun tradition I have that really pisses off my wife
- 8:02and her family is every year around Christmas, I come to, we
- 8:05come down, um, and you know, spend it with her family.
- 8:09And every year around Christmas, Jakey and I get into trade talks
- 8:12and like, it's like an intense, like 3 days of trade talks
- 8:16usually will be on the phone, will be texting and it always
- 8:19lasts around the holidays. And so they always get upset at
- 8:22me. They're like, come on, get off.
- 8:23Your holidays with his trade talks.
- 8:25Yeah, but I got my trade with Jake out of the way early this
- 8:28year, so unless Kevin wants to enter the mix, I should be very
- 8:31present for the holidays. But.
- 8:34But I think my family would be a lot less accommodating to me,
- 8:38you know, messing up Christmas then.
- 8:42Is this OK? I just, you know.
- 8:44This is not present at all. Yeah, no gay.
- 8:47Look, we go to her uncles every year, right?
- 8:49And it's like an hour and a half drive.
- 8:51And so I'll be on my phone during that hour and a half
- 8:53drive and like texting Jakey like trade stuff for the past
- 8:56couple of years, right? And they get mad at me for not
- 8:58being present on the drive. So I'm like, OK, fine, I'll put
- 9:01away. My silent looking out the
- 9:02window. And then I start talking to them
- 9:04and they're like, stop talking to us.
- 9:05We just want you to like, you know, like listen to the music
- 9:08and like look out the window. And I'm like, why can't I be
- 9:10texting? Cheeky we?
- 9:11Want to not do anything he happy about it.
- 9:14Exactly. So yeah, so that's some fun,
- 9:17some fun fantasy hockey Christmas traditions for us.
- 9:20But yeah, let's dive in again. So all that to be said, instead
- 9:23of four-game teams and two game teams gonna be talking about 3
- 9:26in one because for the average team, they're playing two times
- 9:29this week. So there are two one game teams
- 9:30this week, that's Utah and Winnipeg.
- 9:32Utah, they're they're streak of four-game weeks comes to an end.
- 9:35That was a really fun run. I hope people kind of hopped on
- 9:37to grabbing a Utah guy like a month ago because it was just a
- 9:40four week, 4 game weeks like back-to-back.
- 9:42I had Jack McBain that whole time and it was super fun.
- 9:45Um, yeah, so one game week for those two three-game teams
- 9:49you've got Chicago, Detroit, LA Islanders, Philly, Seattle,
- 9:52Tampa, Toronto. Normally I don't go through the
- 9:54list. It's a pretty small list, so I
- 9:55figured it's easy to get through it.
- 9:57The busy nights are Tuesday and Saturday.
- 10:00So that is going to be it's going to be it's a weird week.
- 10:04There's not a lot of games and the busy nights are really busy.
- 10:06So there's going to be a lot of schedule optimization questions.
- 10:10So hop in the Discord will be there to add to them.
- 10:13And then two off night teams you've got Columbus, Philly,
- 10:16Seattle and Tampa. So that has extra value
- 10:19obviously on a week like this. So that's Philly, Seattle and
- 10:22Tampa are the games that are the teams that have three games and
- 10:24two off nights. So keep an eye out on those.
- 10:26But let's dive in to our top ten points guys on the week.
- 10:30This is more general names than specific schedule optimization,
- 10:33but again, hop in the discord and send us your questions if
- 10:37you have a sit starts or stuff like that.
- 10:39All right, Kevin, let's start off with. #10. #10 we have Luke
- 10:46Evangelista of the National Predators.
- 10:48He is now line one, power play one because Jonathan Marceau's
- 10:51day-to-day. But if he does something with
- 10:53it, I don't see him necessarily immediately getting bumped off.
- 10:56So we'll see what happens. But even before this deployment,
- 10:59he was lined up properly too. And I think he made it on our
- 11:01last episode because his shooting volume was just unreal
- 11:04and he was like point per game over the past month.
- 11:06So definitely a lot of interest there in what could potentially
- 11:09be a, you know, longer term hold.
- 11:11But at the same time, it's Nashville and Marcelo can come
- 11:14back and bump him, so you gotta take that with a grain of salt.
- 11:18Yeah, I think it's important to note too, that like with young
- 11:21players like this, like we've seen Evangelista kind of get hot
- 11:23recently where people are picking him up even without
- 11:25having like the, you know, the best possible deployment for his
- 11:29for him. But he's the type of young
- 11:31player that usually gets better in the second-half of the
- 11:34season, which, you know, we're approaching with the holidays
- 11:36about to happen. So I can I can really see that.
- 11:39You know, Nashville is kind of like a sinking ship right now.
- 11:42But they do have a couple of bright spots with young talent
- 11:44that they wanna let flourish. And Evangelista, I think is like
- 11:47the top name on that list. And so if there's an opportunity
- 11:51to be had here, I think he's the one that's going to get it.
- 11:53And, you know, Marshall might not be here long term.
- 11:56Stamkos might not be here long term, might really you might not
- 11:58be there long term. So it really, I think there's
- 12:01spots opening up. And right now he's only shooting
- 12:03at 6%. Like, here's a high shot volume
- 12:06and a 6% shooting percentage is really bad.
- 12:08I can see him getting to like 10 or 12.
- 12:11So if that happens and it's converting, you know, 2 times
- 12:15more often like he, he might be a guy that like could be a a low
- 12:19key, not league winning pickup, but really like a guy that makes
- 12:22a difference on your roster moving forward.
- 12:24Yeah, absolutely. And then obviously this week you
- 12:26only has two games, but next week he has four games.
- 12:28So that's a guy you can pick up and hold for at least those two
- 12:31weeks, if not longer. OK, let's go to number 9.
- 12:37I like the throat clear beforehand.
- 12:38You know, you gotta, you gotta get it good.
- 12:40I love it at #9 We've got Connor Garland of the Vancouver Canucks
- 12:44line. One power play, 1 on.
- 12:46The Canucks are funny because, first of all, they suck, but
- 12:49second of all, they've got so many wingers that, like, have
- 12:52flirted over time with being fantasy relevant.
- 12:54Yeah. And honestly, over the past two
- 12:56years, kind of a surprise last year, but this year I expected
- 12:59it a bit more. Garland has been the most
- 13:01valuable of those wingers. So talking guys like you've got
- 13:03Garland, you've got Besser, you've got Debrusk, you've got,
- 13:06you know, Evander, Kane, Kiefer, Sherwood, obviously a different
- 13:09story. That's a bangers focus.
- 13:10But in terms of like points production, you look at all
- 13:13these guys and you're like, OK, someone's got to do something
- 13:16with this deployment. And Garland's the one who's been
- 13:18doing it the past two seasons. So I like him as a pickup.
- 13:21That's another one where he only has two games this week, but
- 13:23four games the week after. And and yeah, Vancouver's been
- 13:27winning since they traded away locker room cancer.
- 13:29Quinn Hughes, clearly. Hey listen, all you need is a
- 13:34handful of games for the sample size to be nice, so.
- 13:37Yeah, exactly. Vancouver to the Cup.
- 13:41It's written in the stars, guys. Yeah, exactly.
- 13:43But I do think Conor Garland is a worthy pickup because this is
- 13:46a type of guy that usually does a lot when he has deployment.
- 13:50So I think that if you know, he keeps this deployment and this
- 13:54is what he's been doing this last week is also without Elise
- 13:57Patterson, who we know is the best player on this team, who we
- 14:00know that when he comes back, like whether you like him or
- 14:02not, the power play will get better.
- 14:03The wingers around him will get better.
- 14:06So I think there's a lot of, you know, there's a lot of
- 14:08foundation here for ground to just be like a solid fan Inc
- 14:10asset. I think mostly relevant in
- 14:12deeper leagues. Yeah.
- 14:15All right, so let's go to #8 at #8 we have Boone Jenner of the
- 14:23Columbus Blue Jackets. Not the best deployment with
- 14:25line 2 power play 2, but he's been doing solid category
- 14:29category coverage, which is what he's known for over the years.
- 14:32But also he's a point per game since coming back from injury.
- 14:34It's only four games tiny sample size, but it's something worth
- 14:37noting again with their off night schedule this week and
- 14:39four-game week the week after. So that's a schedule
- 14:42optimization move. It's rare that we recommend guys
- 14:45who are not power play one on here, but but look, it's a it's
- 14:48a small, like I said, it's a small week.
- 14:50He's been putting up the numbers and he's got the off nights so
- 14:52it's worth a look. Do you think you'd ever trade
- 14:55him? No, I don't think so.
- 14:58I mean, I think they're still trying to trying to compete.
- 15:00I mean, they just made they blockbuster trade last night,
- 15:03right. They traded for a Mason
- 15:04Marchment, trading away a second and a fourth.
- 15:06They're they're kind of desperate for any sort of
- 15:10offence or good play. So we'll see, we'll see what
- 15:13happens with that trade. If it couldn't, you know, spark
- 15:16anything from them. But but no, I don't see them
- 15:19trading Jenner. I think Jenner is one of the
- 15:21guys on this list that definitely has a stronger banger
- 15:24focus as well. Like we try to we, we try to
- 15:27pick guys that are going to be valuable for your leagues that
- 15:30are, you know, highly value points and just, you know, guys
- 15:33that will get you points right. That's usually the hardest thing
- 15:35to stream, but uh, I think Jenna is one of the guys that will get
- 15:39you hits if you're in the face off win leagues.
- 15:41Like he's really good at that usually as well.
- 15:43I would say less so recently though.
- 15:45And um, yeah, I'm but quick tangent on Marshman though.
- 15:49What do you think? Like is he is he fantasy
- 15:51relevant? Cause to me, I kind of see him
- 15:53in my head. I'm picturing like a Tolvanen
- 15:55but like less good because he won't get power player 1.
- 15:58You know, honestly, like he can get power play one right now.
- 16:03Like China. China's on power play one they
- 16:05hate. But they bumped Monaghan, so
- 16:07it's like I feel like Monaghan has a better chance than March.
- 16:11For sure, but I mean it just means that there's not a lock on
- 16:13power play one spot. So like, look, am I betting you
- 16:17know my house that that he's going to be power play one?
- 16:20No, but I mean they did go out and trade for him and they're
- 16:23looking for any sort of spark. So I wouldn't be surprised if he
- 16:26gets a shot there and then if he does well with it, he'll keep
- 16:28it. So that's definitely like I
- 16:30mean, right now I'm just watch listing him.
- 16:31I'm not going to not rushing to grab him or anything like.
- 16:33That you don't make a proactive pick up for a guy that level
- 16:35unless you're really deeply. Yeah, exactly.
- 16:38It's not like I really doubt that Marchment becomes that
- 16:41pickup that you regret for the rest of the season if you don't
- 16:43get him. I think you could put up some
- 16:45solid weeks for you if if he gets that power play one for a
- 16:47bit. I don't see it being like a
- 16:49season long thing that'll stick. But in the past he's been solid
- 16:52bangers right Shots and hits like you said with the Tolvanen
- 16:54comparison. So if he doesn't have power play
- 16:571 not much interest. I mean, he wasn't good on
- 16:59Seattle and Columbus is not that much better.
- 17:02But he was good when he was on Dallas and he was when he was on
- 17:05Florida. That's like he has.
- 17:07He has. He has the juice in him.
- 17:08Exactly. So any change of any change the
- 17:11scenery is always worth at least watch listing.
- 17:14And look, if you have the free ad and you wanna give it a shot
- 17:17for this week and like if he pops off, you got ahead of the
- 17:19curve. You know you can do it.
- 17:21But it's not one that I'm, like, necessarily rushing to make.
- 17:24Yeah, I feel the same. All right, next one.
- 17:27OK, let's go to. #7. At #7 We've got Frank Nazar of
- 17:34the Chicago Blackhawks line one power play 1.
- 17:37Two reasons he makes this list because he's not necessarily our
- 17:39favorite lately. One reason is the schedule.
- 17:41He's one of the few teams that played three times and four
- 17:44games the week after. So great schedule and #2 is this
- 17:47Connor Bedard injury? Where?
- 17:48Normally I'd say Bedard being injured just makes all the
- 17:51Blackhawks worse. But we talked about this on our
- 17:53new episode. The only player who might
- 17:54benefit isn't Nazar because he's line one.
- 17:57Now, look, I still think in general it'll make him worse
- 18:00because that power plays a lot worse.
- 18:02But he's the number one centre and he has a great schedule.
- 18:04So it's a Kent Kent not include him in a list like this.
- 18:09Yeah, I think, I think Nasar, like you said, is is probably
- 18:12like the only guy that maybe holds somewhat value with Bidar
- 18:17being out because he gets bumped up in in the deployment.
- 18:20Like he's going to be the main centre on this team moving
- 18:22forward until Bidart comes back. The thing is like his power play
- 18:251 is just not guaranteed. Like I saw them again like last
- 18:28practice he was practicing on P2 and it just does not make sense
- 18:32to me. And like whether?
- 18:33Easy, it's putting instead of him.
- 18:36Let me go look right now if they if they updated it to something
- 18:39else. But you know, I did see some
- 18:40like names like Donato and Colton Dock on there, like.
- 18:43They're just throwing. Whatever at the wall and hoping
- 18:45it sticks. And it's just kind of like guys
- 18:48like, let give some sort of consistency to your players and
- 18:52let them figure it out a little. Bit so this is a guy that they
- 18:54need slash want to succeed. So I don't get why they're
- 18:57trying to like hamstring him, especially with Bedard out once
- 18:59and no brainer that he should get the deployment but.
- 19:01OK, now Power play 1 is Ryan Green, Nick Lardis, Turbo
- 19:06Teravainen, Frank Nazar, and Artem Leafnode.
- 19:09So the guys that got bumped currently are Bertuzzi
- 19:12Burkowski. Those are.
- 19:14See, that's what I'm saying. It's just like one day it'll be
- 19:17them, the next day will be Nazar.
- 19:18So keep that just in the back of your mind.
- 19:21But I think his 585 deployment should be good enough to make
- 19:24him valuable with the power play.
- 19:25One upside of things like a 75% chance it keeps it, but that 25%
- 19:29chance is really annoying. He's definitely not our not our
- 19:33favorite, which is why he's lowered down on this list, but
- 19:34the schedule kind of made him an include.
- 19:37And for bangers like he, he does have some blocking game to him.
- 19:40So I would I would just like to throw that little tidbit in
- 19:43there. So nice.
- 19:44That was a great tidbit. Yeah, talking about guys who
- 19:47have a little bit of a blocking game in them.
- 19:48Let's go to number six. Number six, we have Alexander
- 19:53Wennberg of the San Jose Sharks Line 2 power play.
- 19:56One, he's been on fire the past like week, week and 1/2 he has.
- 20:01He had back-to-back 3 point games. 7 points in the last four
- 20:04games he wins faceoffs. He's he blocks and he's a lock
- 20:08on power play. 1 even when Will Smith is healthy, like for some
- 20:11reason Weinberg is a lock on that power play unit.
- 20:14I picked him up and he did nothing for me.
- 20:16So then I dropped him and someone else grabbed him and
- 20:18then he pops off. So that always feels great, but.
- 20:21Playing with William Ekland, it's hard not to be successful.
- 20:23Yeah, exactly. Yeah, No, this one's a super
- 20:27kind of random one, but if your league counts faceoff wins in
- 20:30blocks and you want that points upside, then then yeah, solid
- 20:34pickup. Especially what he's been doing
- 20:35lately. Yeah, I think I think Wenberg is
- 20:39like one of those names that like I'm almost never interested
- 20:41in picking up, but that might just be my biases because in our
- 20:45league of record, I'm completely punting face off wins and that's
- 20:47one of the best things that he's at.
- 20:48So yeah, I I tend to like less value those guys.
- 20:52But you can't argue with the numbers that he's putting up and
- 20:55his ice time, his ice time, he's playing over 20 minutes a night.
- 20:57Guys, when somebody's playing that much, it just means that
- 21:00the team values their presence and the team values their
- 21:03presence means are gonna be on the ice no for crucial moments.
- 21:06And that's when good the goals happen.
- 21:07So I I do like Greenberg has like end of your kind of like
- 21:12not, I don't say end of your bench stash, but if you're in a
- 21:15deep legally, he can be guy that you pick up and you hold for a
- 21:18decent amount of time. And on a week like this where
- 21:21you know, the schedule is so wonky, like I can see myself
- 21:23streaming him as well. So he has a good deployment.
- 21:26Like what more could you ask for it?
- 21:28At the end of the day, that's what we're banking on the most.
- 21:31Yeah, absolutely. All right, let's go to number 5
- 21:36#5 is a guy that I said I don't have much interest in in the
- 21:39asked. And look, he's he's having a
- 21:43really good week. Let's just say that I'm still
- 21:45not the biggest believer, but we've got a Vlad Tarasenko of
- 21:47the Minnesota Wild. It's currently line one power
- 21:49play 1 and he's been putting up great numbers.
- 21:53This comes with a huge asterisk because first of all, I'm not
- 21:56the biggest believer. So I had to like if the guy puts
- 21:58up the stats, you gotta you gotta include him in the list.
- 22:00And it also was a pretty scarce list this week.
- 22:03Like some weeks I feel like there's so many good guys that
- 22:06are like below 40%. And this this week I felt like
- 22:08it was a there weren't as many slam dunks.
- 22:10So that's why I'm including him. But but yeah, I mean, the big
- 22:15asterisk is that Marcus Johansson is on the brink of
- 22:18returning. So is Matt Zuccarello.
- 22:20And I just don't see Tarasenko holding power play one once the
- 22:24both those guys are back. And then once he's not power
- 22:26play 1, I really think he has no value.
- 22:29So it's tough to be saying all that and then also recommending
- 22:32him like #5 on this list. But it was just like very slim
- 22:36pickings. And he put up a three-point game
- 22:38into another leg point. And so he is running a bit hot
- 22:41right now. So like it could, you could do
- 22:42worse. I will say though, like to your
- 22:45point, we're recording this before the Saturday, Sunday
- 22:48back-to-back, like right before O as we record this, he has four
- 22:53points in his last two games. He's a three out of 3.9 and he
- 22:56scored a goal in in his last game.
- 22:59That second line of pure Russians is Loki developing some
- 23:04good chemistry because him is it's him.
- 23:07It's trending who we've talked about being a a banger league
- 23:10beast recently and you're of and he doesn't have any power play
- 23:15points in the last two games for those four points are all 5V
- 23:17fives. So is that just a product of you
- 23:20know, that line 1 getting the hardware matchups and that line
- 23:232 having good chemistry, being able to take take advantage of
- 23:25like the lesser matchups? I'm not sure, but there's
- 23:30there's something here that makes me more interested than
- 23:33than just Tarasenko being get bumped out when they get
- 23:37healthy. You know what I mean?
- 23:38Like, I think I think there's a world where that second line
- 23:40stays intact because of the chemistry that they found.
- 23:45And then when the other guys get healthy, we see something happen
- 23:48that means one of like Boldy or Zuccarello's going to be on a
- 23:52quote, UN quote line 3, which is hard to imagine in itself,
- 23:56right? So yeah, I, I wonder how it's
- 23:58going to play out. But just just know that like,
- 24:00there's there's little something here in this situation that is
- 24:02not just like black and white. And Tarasenko, I think is a is a
- 24:06valuable streamer when those guys are still out.
- 24:08Yeah, absolutely. OK, let's go to the next one
- 24:13with. #4. At #4 we have William Eckland of
- 24:20the San Jose Sharks line to CarPlay one on Kevin's team.
- 24:24But he's been, he's been really good lately.
- 24:26He's been, he's the type of guy like these young guys.
- 24:28I feel like they're very streaky and he was bad for awhile and
- 24:31now he's really good and it's really easy.
- 24:33Just pick up them, pick them up when they're good and then if
- 24:35you're not in the deepest league, could just drop them
- 24:37when they're bad. But right now he's good.
- 24:38So that's an easy pickup for me. He was this like top 4 I feel
- 24:43like as a tear break from the bottom six that we just
- 24:45mentioned. So I'm pretty excited about
- 24:47Eckland if you have the opportunity to grab him.
- 24:49Over the last two weeks, he's averaging 0.83 points per game,
- 24:530.33 power play points and is averaging 3 shots a game, which
- 24:57we've seen them kind of hover. I don't want to say he's been
- 24:59hovering around three shots a game the whole the whole season,
- 25:01but like when he's valuable, that's where he's shooting at
- 25:03and then he'll have weeks where he'll get like 1.5 shots or
- 25:07something. So his average is closer to like
- 25:092.4, which is still like pretty good if you're if that's what's
- 25:13going to be your average to the highs and the lows.
- 25:16But this is a guy that you know, is playing on the same power
- 25:18play celebrity who we know is. I think you can safely say that
- 25:22he's one of the most talismanic players in the league right now
- 25:24as well. Absolutely.
- 25:26And we love talismanic players here at Bangor Management.
- 25:30The only the only thing that I wish is like he was playing with
- 25:32celebrity. Strength.
- 25:34Yeah, but he gets to play with the other GOAT, Alexander.
- 25:37Whatsoever exactly. And also like he can easily get
- 25:40bumped up to line one at any moment.
- 25:42There's no like, you know, like he could bump what is it calling
- 25:44graph or stuff. Yeah.
- 25:47Yeah. Right in front of me.
- 25:48I'm going to butcher it. Yeah, so anyways, I think like
- 25:51there's definitely an easy line to line one if if the coach
- 25:54decides it. So yeah, love Eckland doesn't
- 25:57pick up. This is definitely more like the
- 25:59top 4 is all like more seasoned long hold guys.
- 26:02Yep. Depends how deep your league is,
- 26:04but I think he's one of the guys that has the potential to be
- 26:07somebody that's on your roster for the long term.
- 26:09Yeah, absolutely. OK, let's go to the top. #3.
- 26:17At #3 we've got mentioned last week as well, but we're
- 26:21mentioning him again, Ryan O'Reilly of the National
- 26:24Predators line one power play, one like Nashville scored some
- 26:28goals and O'reilly's involved and it feels like all of them.
- 26:30He's point per game over point per game in the past month.
- 26:33And this is just an easy, you know, right while it's hot, if
- 26:35you're league counts, face off wins, he's got that going for
- 26:37him as well. And he saw, I saw recently a
- 26:41quote that said that he doesn't want to get traded from
- 26:43Nashville. He doesn't have a new clause,
- 26:46but Trots kind of said that like he wants to us all.
- 26:50Yeah, exactly. So look, who knows.
- 26:52Who knows what that means, but like.
- 26:54I didn't see that. So if that's, yeah, that's
- 26:56actually huge because. I mean, essentially he
- 26:59essentially said I don't wanna just abandon this team.
- 27:01Like I'd rather be help be part of the solution which people
- 27:05took really offence to because when he was in Buffalo he was
- 27:08like, I'm abandoning this team, wanna deal with this.
- 27:11I mean, I think he just learned from his previous mistake and
- 27:14just is saying that in public. But when they trade him, be
- 27:16like, oh guys didn't want this like.
- 27:19Oh no. Yeah, exactly.
- 27:21Then he goes and wins the cup with the Avalanche.
- 27:22Yeah, exactly. So we'll see what happens, but
- 27:26but I don't think a trade is imminent.
- 27:28It would be closer to the deadline.
- 27:29So, so right now look, he's he's running hot.
- 27:32So it's an easy grab. And this is, listen, we're not
- 27:35going to go too much into weeds of this one because I feel like
- 27:37he's been a mainstay in recent episodes.
- 27:39The fact that he's still below 40% on like he's only at 32% as
- 27:43we as we record this on Yahoo, but over over the last month
- 27:47he's still over point per game. Yeah, that's that's not nothing
- 27:50guys, we'd like we know Rhino Riley has quality in him.
- 27:53He's just super 1 dimensional. Like you're going to pick him
- 27:55up. We're recommending him here
- 27:56because if you need points, he's one of the guys that can
- 27:59deliver. But he's not gonna get you
- 28:00shots. He's not gonna get you hits or
- 28:01blocks and the power play points I would say are going to hover
- 28:05around, you know .25 is my guess like between 1:15 zero point 15
- 28:11and 0.3 ish. So you you know that you can get
- 28:15the points, but I'm not expecting him to get me anything
- 28:18else. Yeah, I will say he's.
- 28:20Also trade bit I think like you have him on your roster and
- 28:23somebody you know, you you add him into like a 2 for one and
- 28:26being like, you know, I wanna make this move that seems quote
- 28:29UN quote like lateral. You throw in Ryan O'Reilly who
- 28:31just picked up off waivers. He's been over a point per game
- 28:34like that. That can be enough to get you
- 28:35over the hump. Yeah, absolutely.
- 28:38And I will say, I think blanket statement for our top three
- 28:40guys, they're all pure C and they're all under 40% and they
- 28:42all feel like they should be higher than all attribute a lot
- 28:44of that to them being pure C's because I think that's the
- 28:47deepest position. So a lot of leagues that aren't
- 28:49as deep might not have room on their rosters for them.
- 28:52But but yeah, these guys are all all guys who should be rostered
- 28:55right now. So let's go into our. #2.
- 28:59At #2 he's back in our top three.
- 29:03Look, if a guy's gonna play this well, he's gonna make it into
- 29:05our top three. I look, I couldn't resist.
- 29:07Well, I'm ready to be heard again.
- 29:09And so is he, probably. So we're talking about Josh
- 29:13Norris of the Buffalo Sabres line 2 power play one currently,
- 29:17he is just on an absolute terror.
- 29:19I mean, if you haven't heard the tales of Josh Norris, go check
- 29:22out his game log since coming back from injury.
- 29:25I think he's a point in every single game.
- 29:26The power place clicking, he shoots, he wins faceoffs, hits.
- 29:29I mean, the hits have slowed down.
- 29:30But like, yeah, he can he he's shown he can do that in the
- 29:33past. And yeah, this is just a no
- 29:35brainer. I mean, we talk about this every
- 29:37single week it feels like. If I feel like there's no, no
- 29:40bigger Josh Norris fans than first of all, me and maybe you,
- 29:44Josh, I don't know. I don't.
- 29:45Fan I definitely want to do in the draft this year like look, I
- 29:48mean the every every injury he gets just makes me like, you
- 29:52know, more and more wary of him. But I've never doubted the skill
- 29:55or the deployment. I know for a fact that he's a
- 29:57steel wherever you get him in the draft.
- 29:59Because of that, it's really just about the health.
- 30:01But you know, look, it's it's a it's a waiver pickup.
- 30:05Grab him always hot and drop him if he gets injured.
- 30:07So it's a no brainer. As we speak, he's only 33%
- 30:09owned. I think Buffalo is on the come
- 30:12up like since since the GM changed, like they've actually
- 30:15been pretty solid and I can expect, you know, them to be
- 30:18competitive rest of season. I'm not going to say they're
- 30:21going to be good, but I'm going to say they're going to try and
- 30:24that's more than some teams so. Absolutely.
- 30:27I mean, something interesting with the standings is that in
- 30:31the East at least, the worst team in the East is like 5
- 30:35points out of a playoff spot. It's so, so close.
- 30:39And that makes it that like there's not really any clear
- 30:43tanking teams in the East. You look at some of the teams
- 30:44are playing awful and they're still in the playoff hunt.
- 30:47Whereas in the West it feels like there's much more clear,
- 30:50you know, these teams suck, they're going to start tanking.
- 30:52So, you know, it kind of makes it that I think it's a bit more
- 30:55interesting for these bottom teams in the East.
- 30:58They're still trying to win. So they'll still, you know, try
- 31:01and produce and make moves and deployment and whatever that'll
- 31:05need to wins. So yeah, you look at Buffalo,
- 31:08who's like, you know, pretty far down that list in the standings.
- 31:10And then you look at how many points out they are and they're
- 31:12like, yeah, why shouldn't they compete?
- 31:13So Norris, a guy who's like their best centre is a I mean,
- 31:17unless you count teaches the centre because he's playing
- 31:20there now. But I don't see that lasting.
- 31:22But yeah, so this is a no brainer.
- 31:24And I do think that, you know, we are at a certain point, like
- 31:27we love looking at the numbers. We love looking at the
- 31:29statistics and the averages and what we can expect guys to
- 31:31either regress up, regress 1. But we do also watch all the
- 31:35hockey games. And when you watch Josh Norris
- 31:37play, he's actually good. Did you see his last goal?
- 31:39The way his body moves on the ice is just.
- 31:42If only Jake was here, he'd be thrilled to hear you say that.
- 31:45Exactly. But did you?
- 31:47Did you see the last goal? Yeah, just.
- 31:49Philly. It has some talent, guys.
- 31:52It's not just, yeah, I mean. There's a reason they traded him
- 31:54one for one for like Dylan Cousins, right?
- 31:56Like it wasn't like 1 was like, that's a dumb trade because of
- 31:59the injury history. Yeah, but you take out the
- 32:01injury history, that's a perfectly reasonable trade.
- 32:03Yeah, I think he was due for a change of scenery.
- 32:05And like you said, like the injury history, like it can't be
- 32:07avoided at this point. We talk about guys being
- 32:09squishy, like he's top of that list for when it comes to
- 32:11squishy. But when he's not being squishy,
- 32:13he's. Still sick when he's not being
- 32:15squished and he's at full, you know, shape or whatever then.
- 32:18It's such a high ceiling too, because you're picking them up
- 32:21off waivers like you're giving value from your from your team
- 32:24in a trade and and hoping that he stays healthy.
- 32:26Like you're just picking him up expecting him up off waivers.
- 32:28If he gets hurt, it's like you nothing happened.
- 32:30Exactly cut him. Yeah.
- 32:31So I I strongly recommend this guy can have rest of season
- 32:35impact for your fantasy team. So what are the odds that now
- 32:37he's made it back in our top three that he gets injured?
- 32:39If it if it does happen, it's because you made a little
- 32:42comment about his injury history as you were saying his name.
- 32:44So putting him in the top three because he didn't get injured
- 32:48when we didn't put him in the top three, but every time we
- 32:50have he, he's gotten injured so. Was an honorable 3.5 or
- 32:54something? Yeah, exactly.
- 32:56OK, let's go to #1 sell it. OK.
- 33:02Number one, we've got Elias Lindholm of the Boston Bruins
- 33:06line, one power play, 1 centre. He gets to play, like I said,
- 33:09with the two best wingers in the league, which is the Pasternack
- 33:11and working geeky. And I love saying that.
- 33:16And Boston's power play is #4 in the league still.
- 33:20Look, we're we're far enough into the season that I think
- 33:22they just have a good power play.
- 33:23Like I don't think this is like one of those things where
- 33:25they're gonna drop off and become like 25th in the league
- 33:28over the course of the year. So this is the number one centre
- 33:32on a team with one of the best power plays in the league gets
- 33:34to play with amazing wingers and Boston has the best playoff
- 33:37schedule of anyone tied with the Rangers.
- 33:39So this is such a no brainer pick up to me.
- 33:42I have him on my team. I got him as kind of a throw in
- 33:44a trade where I also got Pasternak and it was just
- 33:47unreal. Unreal.
- 33:48Thrown over a point per game over the past month.
- 33:49He wins faceoffs. He like doesn't shoot that much
- 33:53but like he can also contribute at hits and looks like one of
- 33:55each per game usually. So I love him.
- 33:58I'm super happy to have him on my team.
- 34:00Yep, everything Josh said I I agree with unfortunately,
- 34:04because Josh does have him on his fantasy team, but the the
- 34:08points have been there. The power play exposure is
- 34:10there. He's a double digit face off
- 34:12winner. And I will say like obviously
- 34:15he's kind of like a rhino Riley, but like slightly better in the
- 34:17back categories where like he'll shoot like guys, nothing crazy.
- 34:21It's like 1.3. You're not expecting much.
- 34:23His his can fluctuate. He can like have a week where
- 34:26he'll get you a six game hit and then have 6 game hit 66 game.
- 34:32Yeah, sorry, I was like, what is English?
- 34:34But then he can get like straight zeros there for like 6.
- 34:37So it's just kind of really weird.
- 34:39Here's Here's a classic Elias Lindholm stat line for someone
- 34:42who doesn't have him on his team.
- 34:43You're gonna get one assist, one point.
- 34:45It's gonna be a power play assist.
- 34:47You're gonna get one shot on goal, 8 face off wins, one hit
- 34:51and one block. That's like a classical Island
- 34:53home game, and that's great. You take that?
- 34:56And then sometimes you'll have games where he'll get you, you
- 34:59know, 0 points, one shot, 12 face off wins, six hits and one
- 35:05block. And you're like, what even
- 35:07happened here? Yeah, exactly.
- 35:09So we take those and we move on. Exactly.
- 35:11So, yeah. So that's our our top three.
- 35:13Let's dive into some bangers with a hard B Bangers week.
- 35:17There we go. So let's start with #5 and #5 I
- 35:24think this guy is firmly cementing himself as a hits
- 35:28beast. I think he might be leading the
- 35:30league still. But we've got Yakov Trenin of
- 35:33the Minnesota Wild. He's averaging 1.3 shots, 4.7
- 35:37hits, and that's over the season.
- 35:38He's been even better recently. And yeah, and now he's online,
- 35:42too. Look, who knows how long that
- 35:44lasts once they start getting guys back.
- 35:45But this is just a very, very pure hits but elite hits type of
- 35:50play. Again, only two games this week,
- 35:52but four games of the week, so it's a solid 2 week stream at
- 35:54the very least. And there's a guy in a bangers
- 35:56who can stay on your roster rest of the season, just to warn you
- 35:58that hits category. Yep, here's value definitely
- 36:01depends on how valuable bankers are.
- 36:03Like if you're in a categories league and you're in your league
- 36:05is pretty deep, you can have a lot of value because he can
- 36:08completely change. You know, that one category just
- 36:11on his on his lonesome or if you're in a lead of values, you
- 36:16know, hits in terms of points and like you get one point for
- 36:19every hit. Then let's say two hits equals
- 36:22like an assist. Like he can basically get you
- 36:24like 2 assistant night, if not 3 pretty much if you're counting
- 36:27it like that. Yeah.
- 36:28So I I think he can be very valuable.
- 36:30And like Josh said, like this is the only guy on the list that he
- 36:33might have two games this week, but he's got four games the next
- 36:36week. So some long term potential
- 36:38there for you to hold them for like this weekend, next.
- 36:41Yeah, OK, let's go to #4 and #4 the staple of this list.
- 36:47We've got Radco Goutis of the Anaheim Ducks.
- 36:51I mean, we can't not include him.
- 36:53He's like the quintessential Bangers defenseman and he's
- 36:56never above 40%. So like, why are we gonna
- 36:58recommend worse guys when we have him available to list?
- 37:01So he's 1.4 shots, 2.4 hits, 1.8 blocks on the season and only
- 37:08two games this week, three games a week after.
- 37:09But again, this is a season long hold.
- 37:11Like, I don't even know. Like I feel like everyone who's
- 37:13listening, who's in a Bangers league, he's all, he's already
- 37:15rostered. But like like I said, our rule
- 37:17is under 40%, so we got to keep including him.
- 37:20Yeah, usually we put them higher on this list, but I think he's
- 37:23he's slowed down a little bit over the last two weeks, I would
- 37:25say. Yeah, but that's not uncommon
- 37:27for these bangers guys to like they'll they'll have weeks where
- 37:29they're getting like five hits, five blocks, it feels like for
- 37:32stretches of games and they'll have the odd week where it's
- 37:35like they'll get some zeros there and you're like, I just
- 37:37picked them up. How the hell is he getting
- 37:38zeros? He's averaging over 5A game.
- 37:41Like how is he getting zeros? It honestly makes no sense, but
- 37:44it happens. And I think Rocco good.
- 37:46This is like, no going through right now where you're not
- 37:49getting the blocks from. I don't think the hits are still
- 37:51there and he's doing what he usually does in shots at any
- 37:54point is kind of just a cherry on top.
- 37:55So always one of the best bangers.
- 37:58Yeah, I think these these next couple of guys, the reason I put
- 38:01them higher is because they have three games this week as opposed
- 38:03to the 2. So obviously we're trying to
- 38:05optimize schedule, but let's go to. #3.
- 38:08And #3 we've got a guy who actually wasn't on our list for
- 38:11a few weeks, but we're bringing him back with a nice schedule.
- 38:14We've got a meal. Heineman of the New York
- 38:15Islanders still averaging on the season. 1.9 shots, 3.4 hits, and
- 38:20again, that three-game schedule this week is going to be really
- 38:23nice for him. So I like him.
- 38:24I mean, the points have definitely dried up.
- 38:26Hornets outdated day when he comes back that definitely
- 38:29increases his point potential, but in terms of pure bangers,
- 38:32not going to complain with having him for three games this
- 38:34week. Yeah, a guy that you're able to
- 38:35get two shots out of and over three hits out of, like that's
- 38:38very rare. I think that's why Emily
- 38:40Heineman is one of those guys that has kind of I, I would say
- 38:43come out of nowhere and be valuable for fantasy this season
- 38:46where we expected him to be somewhat good like we used to be
- 38:49on the halves. Like we really loved him.
- 38:50It was sad to see him go, but this is the type of guy that
- 38:53like he wasn't relevant on the House and on on the Islanders.
- 38:56He's got a little bit of juice to him.
- 38:57So if you need hits and some shots like there's no, there's
- 39:01not many better guys this week. I think that you can stream.
- 39:03That's it. It's a really tough week to
- 39:05stream so. So he's a nice one.
- 39:07Alright, let's go to #2 at #2 we've got Jake McCabe of the
- 39:12Toronto Maple Leafs. This is more of a switch up.
- 39:14This is for blocks leagues more than more than hits leagues.
- 39:17So he still hits. He's averaging 1.5 hits on the
- 39:20season. He's averaging 2.6 blocks.
- 39:22He's also pimping if your league counts that and he's got that
- 39:25three-game week. So he's averaging 22 minutes a
- 39:28night and he's a great banger, but very blocks focused.
- 39:30Most of all the other guys on this list are hits focused.
- 39:33So thought I'd throw in a blocks guy for the lease that count
- 39:35that. Yeah, I think McCabe also is
- 39:38like, he's kind of low-key cementing himself as, you know,
- 39:41a guy that you kind of hold for the season given the categories
- 39:45that he's that he's able to influence, like 2.6 blocks is
- 39:48elite, elite numbers. There's, if you look around the
- 39:52league, there's not a lot of defensemen that are hitting that
- 39:54threshold that are like good at anything else.
- 39:57And I think Jake McCabe is one of the few names that like,
- 39:59yeah, you wish his hits were a little higher, but he's playing
- 40:0122 minutes a night. And he might not get you a shot,
- 40:05but the block, the blocks are so elite that in a categories
- 40:08league, I think he has more value than in, let's say, a
- 40:11points league that has individual points values for
- 40:14hits, blocks and shots. Absolutely.
- 40:16All right, let's go to. Number one.
- 40:21The GOAT number one, we have Big Ben Sharon of the Detroit Red
- 40:26Wings. He's got a three-game week.
- 40:28So that great schedule, he's averaging over two hits over 2
- 40:31blocks over a shot per game. He slowed down a bit over the
- 40:34past week, but if you look at his past month, past two weeks,
- 40:37season long averages, they're all kind of unreal.
- 40:40And, and we we love him here. You know, I, I've always been a
- 40:44bench rock fan. Kevin now has him on his team.
- 40:45So maybe between the bench? But but yeah, no, this is a a
- 40:51great pickup, especially with that three-game week coming up.
- 40:54Yep. I mean, listen, we just
- 40:56highlighted with good is slowing down a little bit in the blocks.
- 40:58I think Sharon just had one of those worst weeks of the season
- 41:01and yes, he's on my roster, so I'm sad, but he didn't really
- 41:04come to delivering the hits and blocks this last week.
- 41:07But I think this upcoming week, like you listen, it's the
- 41:09holidays. He's gonna be mean.
- 41:11Maybe, maybe he gets a little more of those.
- 41:13Yeah, he's going to be full of holiday food and just like
- 41:17throwing that body around trying to work off the calories.
- 41:19So it's it's going to be a good week.
- 41:21Listen, but some of the mindset of an NHL player that wants to
- 41:23burn out the calories from the holiday meal, I think.
- 41:25No brainer. Exactly.
- 41:27OK, let's jump into the goalie zone of the episode.
- 41:32We've got the top three quantity goalies.
- 41:34These are guys who should get you 2 plus starts.
- 41:36I will say this week was very difficult to find 3 quantity
- 41:40goalies because most teams only play twice and there's not many
- 41:43pure starters available under 40%.
- 41:45So I think I came up with some good ones, but there's going to
- 41:47be some asterisks involved, so let's dive in with. #3.
- 41:52At #3 We've got Alex Lyon of the Buffalo Sabres.
- 41:55They play Ottawa and Boston this week.
- 41:57He's been starting every single game for the past week and a
- 42:00half, Two weeks. He's going to cement himself as
- 42:03the starter on that team. But any week where there's only
- 42:07two games, you know, if they just decide he's played six
- 42:09games in a row, we're gonna give him a break.
- 42:11It's possible. So again, there's an asterisk on
- 42:13all these quantity ones that maybe they don't get both
- 42:16starts, but he's guaranteed getting you one and has the
- 42:18chance of getting you both. And I think I really like what
- 42:21I'm seeing from Buffalo lately, right?
- 42:23Like they've won. They're on a four-game win
- 42:24streak as we speak. Not saying they're never gonna
- 42:27lose a game, but the line may also be playing for a new job
- 42:31too, like so he he might either become the the starter for
- 42:36before the rest of the season or be traded to a team that needs
- 42:39goalie help. So I think there's a lot to like
- 42:42with Alice line right now. We've seen him have stretches of
- 42:45strong quality in the past, so you know he's got it in him.
- 42:48Absolutely. He's got that dog in him.
- 42:50He. Does got that dog?
- 42:51Or or that lion and him, I guess.
- 42:54OK, OK, let's go to #2 at #2 we've got Anton Forsberg of the
- 43:02LA Kings. They play a back-to-back of
- 43:04Columbus and Seattle and then they play Anaheim.
- 43:06So he's guaranteed getting one of them back-to-back starts.
- 43:09And then if Darcy Kemper is still out, he'll also get
- 43:11Anaheim. So that's another one of those
- 43:12asterisks. And like we mentioned in our
- 43:15news episode, Forsberg is not necessarily a guy we're like
- 43:18running to grab. We don't think it's like a
- 43:19season winning grab if Kemper's out for some time.
- 43:21But these are all easy opponents and LA, despite not being able
- 43:25to score goals, they don't let in that many either.
- 43:28So I like him for this week. Yeah, I think Forsberg listened.
- 43:32The best thing is we saw we talked about Kemper being one of
- 43:35the main guys as to why LA is being successful in winning
- 43:38games that they're winning. But we've seen Forsberg have a
- 43:41couple of good games here and there.
- 43:42Like I'm not saying that he's the most reliable, but if you
- 43:44need quantity like he's the main starter right now.
- 43:47So on a schedule like this like and you need 2 starts and you
- 43:50need to make a pick up early in the week, I think he's the guy.
- 43:52Yeah, exactly. Alright.
- 43:55And then at number one, I was going to say we've got slim
- 43:59Pickens this week in terms of quantity goalies, or should I
- 44:02say slim Pickards because we got Calvin Pickard of the Edmonton
- 44:08Oilers. Listen, I admire the thought and
- 44:12attempt. Thank you.
- 44:14I'll take it. So yeah, Kevin picked up the
- 44:18Edmonton Oilers. Surprising absolutely no
- 44:19interest in Shari got injured immediately after joining the
- 44:23Edmonton Oilers. Now we've got a back-to-back
- 44:25this weekend. Calvin Pickard and Connor Ingram
- 44:28are gonna get both those starts. And I think whichever one of
- 44:31those two performs better, unless they perform the same,
- 44:34it'll go to Pickard. But if Ingram has a great game
- 44:37and Picard has a garbage game, then let's flip this
- 44:39recommendation to to Ingram. So wait and see on this weekend.
- 44:43But next week they only have two games, but they're both against
- 44:46Calgary. Super easy matchups and I think
- 44:49that they're going to go with the same goalie for both.
- 44:51So look, I think it's going to be picked, but crazier things
- 44:54have happened. Even though Ingram putting
- 44:56terrible HL numbers, sometimes HL and NHL numbers don't
- 44:59translate. So keep an eye on that.
- 45:01And again, slim, slim pickards for this week.
- 45:04You're obsessed with Olympic cards, but listen, you're
- 45:07picking up this, you're picking up the starter, the starter on
- 45:10an Edmonton team that has less competition, though.
- 45:15Like guys, we I, I told you guys that no, we were getting some
- 45:19some some negative feedback. Let's put it that way on our
- 45:23Tiktok where we talked about how you.
- 45:24Know have you gone into gloat now?
- 45:26I have already gone into gloat and they have completely moved
- 45:29the goal posts. They've been like, well, it's
- 45:30not that good anyways. So I'm like, yeah, at least it's
- 45:33healthy and playing on the ice. And we literally mentioned that
- 45:35this was a terrible treat for Edmonton because they treated
- 45:38for a guy that's double the salary, older, injury prone and
- 45:42they had to give give away not only a warm body and defensemen
- 45:45to make up for the cap that they're getting and also a
- 45:48second round pick just for a lateral move for a goalie that
- 45:50week in is already heard. So and in all the games that he
- 45:54played for Edmonton did not get one game over a 900 save
- 45:57percentage. So what are we gloating about
- 45:59here, guys? I just I don't know, but I think
- 46:02I think now Edmonton would really like to have Stuart
- 46:04Skinner on their rosters. All I'm gonna say, but they get
- 46:08Calvin Pickard and they don't have a choice.
- 46:09So that is that. And listen, maybe, maybe this
- 46:13gives you opportunity for Picker with nobody breathing down his
- 46:16neck because Jerry is hurt. Maybe he can run with it.
- 46:19Like listen, if he, if he gets good, like I don't want to say
- 46:23he's he can be the starter even when Jerry is healthy because
- 46:26they just traded for him. They want Jerry to be healthy
- 46:28because or else people are getting fired.
- 46:30Um, but yeah, listen, it's a situation.
- 46:33You're picking up the starter on a great team.
- 46:35Yeah, and I mean two games of Calgary, I'm taking that every
- 46:38day of the week. Alright, let's go to the top
- 46:41three quality goalies. Still not still slim pickings
- 46:45for this week, but at least there were a couple back-to-back
- 46:47that was able to choose for us. So let's start with. #3.
- 46:51At #3 we've got Jonas Johansson, Yonas Johansson.
- 46:56I'm just going to look it up so that next time he's on the.
- 46:57Episode Jonas Johansson. OK.
- 47:01I feel like I've mentioned that every time we reach we we record
- 47:05and we mentioned his name. You're always like, is it Jonas
- 47:07or Jonah? Like it's Yodas and you're like,
- 47:08I don't know what it is yet, but I'm just gonna say.
- 47:11Always. One of these days I'll figure
- 47:13out what Jonas Johansson's name is.
- 47:15But. Getting away with this.
- 47:19Yeah, so he's the backup goalie for Tampa.
- 47:23Now that Vasilevski's back, they have a back-to-back of Florida
- 47:25and Montreal. Look, I don't love these
- 47:27matchups, but it's Tampa. Tampa could beat any team so and
- 47:31again, there wasn't much to choose from.
- 47:32So that's why he is on the number three spot for this week.
- 47:35Yeah, you pay attention to which of these games is going to
- 47:38start. My hope is that he plays the
- 47:39Montreal game because I do think Florida is a little more
- 47:41menacing. But either way, if I need a
- 47:44quality start like you're streaming the Tampa goalie and
- 47:46there's worse, there could be worse options so.
- 47:49Yeah, it's a glowing recommendation.
- 47:51Is it could be worse. That's a tricky week, my friend.
- 47:54It is. Alright, let's go to #2 at #2
- 47:59We've got David Riddick of the New York Islanders.
- 48:03I still hate him from like 3 years ago for like this one
- 48:05random goal he let in. But anyways I'm over it and
- 48:09they've got a back-to-back Rangers in Columbus.
- 48:12Neither team is a team I'm worried about too much.
- 48:15Islanders have been pretty solid.
- 48:16They're always a good defensive team so I like Riddick as a spot
- 48:19start for this week. Yep.
- 48:22And he I would say like he's had some good quality in him at
- 48:26times this year. I'm not trying to put too much
- 48:29stock into that because we've seen what he can do in the past.
- 48:32But yeah, in a week like this, like he's a good stream option.
- 48:38Yeah, all right, and let's go to number one.
- 48:42Number one, we've got Sam Erson of the Philadelphia Flyers.
- 48:45They get to play Vancouver and Chicago on a back-to-back two
- 48:48matchups. I am loving because they both
- 48:51suck. Chicago without Bedard is
- 48:52nothing, Vancouver without Quinn Hughes is.
- 48:55I mean, unbeatable apparently, but but pretty much nothing.
- 49:00And Philly is randomly actually sick this year.
- 49:03Look, not necessarily in terms of their.
- 49:05Actually sick is a is overemphasizing.
- 49:08They are not bottom five in the league.
- 49:11Yes, thank you. I don't think they're bottom 10.
- 49:13They're they're like they're in the mix, which is way better
- 49:16than I expected. I'm also a bit biased because I
- 49:19have a folder on my team and he's been unreal.
- 49:21So yeah, I kind of like what Philly look.
- 49:23I don't think they have the best offence that they are talking is
- 49:26very defensive minded coach and it's showing in the goalie stats
- 49:29so I love this as a this is definitely my top pick up for a
- 49:33single start this week. Yeah, I agree.
- 49:36And Ersin also has it like he's one of the only guys that, you
- 49:40know, you, you, he has it in him to potentially be the guy one
- 49:44day. Like Vadar is like, I feel like
- 49:46he's got the job this year. It feels like unless he really,
- 49:49his play really, you know, deteriorates.
- 49:52But Ersan is the guy that they could have for the future type
- 49:55of thing. So that if the level of play
- 49:57changes, he always has a little bit of upside there compared to
- 49:59these other guys that, you know, are always going to be pure
- 50:01backups. Yeah, but nonetheless, you're
- 50:04just streaming him for one start this upcoming and it could be a
- 50:07good one. And that's the whole point.
- 50:09Yeah. All right, that wraps up our
- 50:12Week 12 streamers waiver, waiver streamers episode.
- 50:17Let Kevin do the field because I can only handle so much.
- 50:21I did the beginning one. It's true, it's true, I got it.
- 50:23But listen guys, if you made it this far, we really appreciate
- 50:26it. I think everything has been
- 50:28booming lately. So thank you guys for thank you
- 50:31guys for rocking with us. If you're not already following
- 50:34us on all the social medias out there, please do the links in
- 50:37either the podcast description of what you're listening to this
- 50:40or you know, does in the social media handles of everywhere we
- 50:43are. Make sure you join the discord
- 50:45community guys. It's a growing community.
- 50:47We're having so much fun there and I think there's no better
- 50:49place to talk fantasy with other people that are like minded and
- 50:53love fantasy. So you want to community?
- 50:55There I was talking to my wife about, like the, you know, the
- 50:58Discord community, how to grade and all that, and she made a
- 51:00good point. It was like, look, I'm not
- 51:02saying we're necessarily gonna blow up and all that, but how
- 51:06cool is it to get to you talk directly with the hosts of a
- 51:11podcast, you know, while they're still small and like, we're
- 51:13super interactive on there. We're talking.
- 51:15Like calling the level. I mean, we're still, we're
- 51:17growing. It's our first really like full,
- 51:19full year of doing it or second. But like, let's say, you know,
- 51:24if everything goes well, like 5 years from now, we're like huge,
- 51:27you know, and you guys could be like, yeah, I was chatting with
- 51:30that guy like, you know, nonstop, like on Discord, like
- 51:32he was a, he was giving me like. Device.
- 51:35Yeah, exactly. We're not going anywhere, but I
- 51:36would just like, it's just like, it's still, it's a really cool
- 51:40kind of thing. You know, if you're in a fandom
