- 0:53- Welcome to the divine five one five podcast.
- 0:57- Here is today's prayer.
- 1:07- Hello, and welcome to today's daily prayer.
- 1:11- We are addressing the topic of walking confidently
- 1:15- in God's direction
- 1:16- and the key scriptures coming from Psalms one
- 1:18- nineteen one zero five
- 1:20- and says your word is a lamp for
- 1:22- my feet and a light on my path.
- 1:26- You know, the other day, I was reading
- 1:28- about the character Jehoshaphat
- 1:31- who was a king,
- 1:33- and, his story can be found in,
- 1:36- second Chronicles,
- 1:38- 20.
- 1:40- And I found that his story was very,
- 1:44- very
- 1:45- captivating
- 1:46- because
- 1:47- the story that I was reading or the
- 1:49- passage that I was reading was basically talking
- 1:52- about how although Jehoshaphat was a king,
- 1:56- and kings tend to have a lot of
- 1:57- power,
- 1:59- and they tend to have a lot of
- 2:00- money and,
- 2:02- everything, a lot of servants and whatnot,
- 2:05- he had found himself in a situation where,
- 2:09- not one but three other tribes,
- 2:13- were coming after him.
- 2:15- And in my mind's eye, I imagine that
- 2:19- each one of these,
- 2:21- other tribes coming after him
- 2:24- probably had 50,000
- 2:26- plus,
- 2:27- soldiers
- 2:28- and in in his mind he's thinking, okay,
- 2:32- I can handle
- 2:34- one
- 2:34- kingdom
- 2:35- or one tribe but not three
- 2:39- And thinking if I don't do something
- 2:41- not only am I gonna be endangered but
- 2:44- my people are gonna be in danger.
- 2:46- And so
- 2:47- the scripture goes on to talk about how
- 2:52- he did not run or try to
- 2:55- deny what he was feeling.
- 2:57- He was
- 2:58- terrified.
- 3:00- And
- 3:00- the way that he handled it was
- 3:03- he went and got him some emotional and
- 3:07- some spiritual support and said I've gotta go
- 3:10- and talk to God about this situation because
- 3:12- I am stressed out. I'm really really worried
- 3:15- about this.
- 3:16- And
- 3:17- he summoned all of the people and told
- 3:19- the people what,
- 3:21- he needed them to do And
- 3:23- and they followed his his lead. They all
- 3:26- just sought the Lord. And the scripture says
- 3:28- that he was determined
- 3:30- to connect with God.
- 3:32- And I love that because
- 3:35- he he intentionally
- 3:36- made a choice
- 3:38- to to
- 3:39- go to his source. Now he had power.
- 3:42- He was a king.
- 3:44- But at that moment,
- 3:46- with what he was dealing with,
- 3:48- all bets were off the table. He didn't
- 3:50- care about him being a king. He didn't
- 3:52- care about how much money he had. He
- 3:55- had to deal and face the fact that
- 3:57- he was vulnerable
- 3:59- and he needed God's grace, mercy, and guidance
- 4:02- to help him do that situation.
- 4:04- And God rewarded him by giving him the
- 4:07- strategies
- 4:08- that he needed to to deal with the
- 4:10- enemies
- 4:11- and told him
- 4:13- twice
- 4:15- to be encouraged and not worry
- 4:17- that the battle was his.
- 4:20- And so having said that,
- 4:23- the scripture that it is, we're focusing on
- 4:26- today is very, very comforting because it says
- 4:29- that God cares about what we're dealing with
- 4:32- regardless of what the situation is. I mean,
- 4:36- it could be absolutely
- 4:38- dire circumstances,
- 4:39- but God's work
- 4:41- illuminates
- 4:42- our pathway. It'll give us the strategies we
- 4:45- need. It'll give us the encouragement that we
- 4:47- need.
- 4:48- So even though today,
- 4:51- we are waiting for God to reveal the
- 4:52- entire journey before taking the first step, sometimes
- 4:56- the first step is
- 4:58- acknowledging
- 4:59- that
- 5:01- you are stressed out,
- 5:03- you need some help,
- 5:06- and that
- 5:07- God is the one that has to do
- 5:09- it.
- 5:11- And bless him
- 5:13- for doing so.
- 5:15- And then
- 5:16- pause
- 5:18- and wait to hear what he says.
- 5:21- But God often gives a slight for today.
- 5:25- Regardless of how long or hard the journey
- 5:28- seems. So take heart.
- 5:31- He sees. He hears. He's waiting for you
- 5:36- to lay the problem at his feet so
- 5:38- that he can illuminate your pathway.
- 5:42- Not just for today,
- 5:45- but for tomorrow and every other day.
- 5:48- And that word
- 5:51- is what provides the details, not only for
- 5:54- today, but for tomorrow.
- 5:57- Having said that,
- 5:59- let's pray together.
- 6:02- Heavenly father, help us trust you one
- 6:05- step at a time.
- 6:07- Give us courage to obey what you've
- 6:10- already shown us instead of waiting for complete
- 6:13- certainty.
- 6:15- And even if we can't see
- 6:17- the details
- 6:19- or any of the details,
- 6:20- give us the courage to trust you
- 6:23- and know that you're not a man that
- 6:25- you should lie to the son of man
- 6:27- that you would repent
- 6:29- about any decision that you made because you
- 6:31- don't have any doubt.
- 6:34- But let your word guide us and your
- 6:36- peace sustain us.
- 6:38- Father, teach us to walk confidently,
- 6:42- knowing you are faithful to lead
- 6:44- us
- 6:46- when we seek you.
- 6:48- In Jesus' name, amen.
- 6:51- If this was a blessing to you,
- 6:54- share it with someone
- 6:55- and follow for tomorrow's prayers.
