Latest / Ross and Rizzo Unfiltered / World Series Game 2 REACTION: Brewers EPIC comeback vs. Rays to take 2-0 series lead | Ross & Rizzo
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to another episode of Ross and Rizzo on
- 0:03Speaker 1: filter game two of the world series in the books.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Rossi raise losing to the brewers five to four Rossi.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Did he go? Yes, he did. Yes, he did. Chance Rossi.
- 0:16Speaker 1: No chance. Yandy Diaz swung there in the ninth. Um, God,
- 0:21Speaker 1: I hate that. I hate that check swing rule.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Well, you just hate to, you hate to see the
- 0:25Speaker 2: game end on that. Like, It was so dang close.
- 0:28Speaker 2: I must have watched it a hundred times. You can't
- 0:29Speaker 2: even tell. It's... I don't know. I don't know the energy.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Do you get caught up in that as an umpire? Like,
- 0:37Speaker 2: I thought in real time, I was like, oh, he swung.
- 0:39Speaker 2: And the way Wilson... Usually as a catcher, you can
- 0:41Speaker 2: really see... Or not Wilson, William. You can really see
- 0:46Speaker 2: the guy go when you're catching. He popped up, like,
- 0:48Speaker 2: no doubt.
- 0:49Speaker 1: And... We gotta sell it.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Slow-mo.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:53Speaker 3: And slow-mo.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Every.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Every slow-mo, this is what I hate about the postseason.
- 0:58Speaker 1: It feels like if you even move the bat, the
- 1:02Speaker 1: umpires just call. Like, that's not, no way that's called
- 1:06Speaker 1: during the regular season, I feel like. And then they,
- 1:09Speaker 1: all the angles, I feel like, on these check swings
- 1:11Speaker 1: are always behind the batter, so it always looks like
- 1:13Speaker 1: the batter goes. Obviously, I'm biased to the batter, but
- 1:16Speaker 1: I did not think he went there. But anyways, that's not,
- 1:19Speaker 1: I don't think, the deciding factor of the game, right? Man,
- 1:21Speaker 1: what a game, bro. This Brewers, man, Rossi, The Brews
- 1:26Speaker 1: have played 10 games this postseason. Four against the Padres,
- 1:31Speaker 1: four against the Dodgers, two against the Rays. They have
- 1:36Speaker 1: been trailing in seven of those 10 games.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Well, that was one of my narratives yesterday on TV.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I was like, the Rays, if they want to be
- 1:44Speaker 2: in this thing, they've got to get the lead.
- 1:45Speaker 3: They've got to get the lead.
- 1:46Speaker 2: And they jump out to a 4-0 lead in the first,
- 1:48Speaker 2: and you're like, okay, here it goes. We're going to
- 1:51Speaker 2: be tied up, 1-1, going to the Trop down in Tampa,
- 1:56Speaker 2: and the Brewers just come back, answer. I mean, it's
- 2:00Speaker 2: so demoralizing as a team when the team answers right
- 2:03Speaker 2: after you put up some runs, you know?
- 2:05Speaker 1: And not even right out. Like, Churrio on in the
- 2:09Speaker 1: second pitch. Bauer's on in the second pitch. They're first
- 2:12Speaker 1: and second, and Rossman's thrown four pitches in the first inning.
- 2:15Speaker 3: They're relentless, man. They're at bats.
- 2:17Speaker 2: And, you know, when you look at the two– bullpens
- 2:20Speaker 2: and we got to give a shout out at some
- 2:22Speaker 2: point to to the Brewers bullpen but we look at
- 2:25Speaker 2: two bullpens there I feel like they're they're not evenly
- 2:28Speaker 2: matched the Brewers are so good and deep but we
- 2:30Speaker 2: look at the starters I thought the way they had
- 2:32Speaker 2: it set up they took a wild card with Nick
- 2:34Speaker 2: Martinez yesterday last night and then they got drew and
- 2:39Speaker 2: then Freddie I was like okay this thing could swing
- 2:41Speaker 2: quick because of their starters but the Brewers had him
- 2:44Speaker 2: I mean three and two-thirds innings at not 89 pitches
- 2:48Speaker 2: I think it was like yeah They're just relentless at bats.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Same with the Rays, though. Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 2:55Speaker 1: It's just the Brewers, man. I was watching with Emily,
- 3:00Speaker 1: my wife, and she's like, it's incredible. She's like, this team,
- 3:04Speaker 1: you could just tell they go down. She's like, it's
- 3:07Speaker 1: fun when you see a team that goes down that
- 3:09Speaker 1: does not give up like that. You could tell. She's
- 3:12Speaker 1: seen a lot of baseball, and her saying that about
- 3:14Speaker 1: the Brewers where she's watched them play three times this
- 3:17Speaker 1: entire season, she's like, That team looks like they don't
- 3:20Speaker 1: care if they're down.
- 3:21Speaker 2: They had a winning record during the regular season when
- 3:24Speaker 2: they fell behind. To me, that's crazy. It tells you
- 3:27Speaker 2: how good the bullpen was because they give you a
- 3:29Speaker 2: chance to fight back. We talk about that all the time.
- 3:31Speaker 2: But they had Logan Henderson out there. I thought he
- 3:34Speaker 2: was throwing the ball well. He got ahead of a
- 3:36Speaker 2: lot of the guys in the first, and then he
- 3:38Speaker 2: couldn't put them away. And I think when you have
- 3:42Speaker 2: a team like that, that you just can't get that
- 3:44Speaker 2: final swing and miss– and they put the ball in
- 3:47Speaker 2: play like the Rays do, it just gets to be
- 3:49Speaker 2: really difficult to keep guys off base, man. They just, again,
- 3:54Speaker 2: both teams having really good at-bats, contact, controlling the strike zone.
- 3:59Speaker 2: You know, it's a fun series to watch because of that. Like,
- 4:02Speaker 2: it's coming down again to man and scoring position. You
- 4:05Speaker 2: said it last show, man and scoring position probably every
- 4:08Speaker 2: game with a chance to tie or win the game
- 4:12Speaker 2: in the ninth inning, and it happened again tonight.
- 4:14Speaker 1: No doubt. How about... Just the sloppy play, too, on
- 4:20Speaker 1: the raise part, right? Yeah, yeah. Like, that send with
- 4:24Speaker 1: Liam Hendricks, the catcher, right? Like, tough send. Two outs.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I know it's two outs. You want to put pressure. But,
- 4:31Speaker 1: I mean, if you slow that down, he wasn't even
- 4:33Speaker 1: at third base and Chiro had the ball in shallow
- 4:36Speaker 1: left field, right? Yeah. So, that hurts.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I feel like the Brewers part, more guys get thrown
- 4:41Speaker 2: out there because it's not as big as it feels, right?
- 4:44Speaker 3: Like, guys play in there.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I didn't hate the sand. I get you.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Like, I know he was there, but Churio was a
- 4:53Speaker 2: really nice throw, and it felt really easy after a
- 4:55Speaker 2: good throw.
- 4:56Speaker 3: But, you know, when I managed, they threw out a
- 4:58Speaker 3: bunch of stats. Yeah, I know, but when you manage,
- 5:02Speaker 3: they give you these stats, and I know, you know,
- 5:06Speaker 3: I don't want to get into that debate.
- 5:08Speaker 1: No, I need to know because I don't understand this.
- 5:10Speaker 2: No, it's just like the percentage of guys that get
- 5:13Speaker 2: thrown out at home plate are low just because it
- 5:16Speaker 2: takes a lot of things. have to go right. He
- 5:19Speaker 2: has to field it cleanly. He has to exchange it.
- 5:22Speaker 2: It's just like throwing a guy out a second. Like
- 5:24Speaker 2: a lot of things, you got to catch it on
- 5:25Speaker 2: one hop, tag him, all that stuff. It's just the numbers.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I forget the exact percentages, but it tells you to,
- 5:32Speaker 2: when in doubt, send him. And that's what I thought
- 5:36Speaker 2: he did, push the envelope a little bit there. But
- 5:38Speaker 2: as we're on the topic of slow running catchers, we
- 5:42Speaker 2: do know one thing that's still consistent about this series
- 5:45Speaker 2: is it's fucking catchers rake this post season.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It is happening. Right.
- 5:50Speaker 3: You can Liam Hendrick, the home run to put them
- 5:52Speaker 3: up for nothing.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Big time pop.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Then our boy, uh, William comes up, gets the, gets
- 5:59Speaker 2: the big RBI right there in the first for them
- 6:02Speaker 2: to put, put them up to nothing.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I mean, uh, for two, get them back in the
- 6:05Speaker 3: kind of, kind of the race.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And he had a chance to get another RBI there
- 6:08Speaker 2: late and just add infield in when they would get
- 6:10Speaker 2: that run in. But, He was blocking the heck out
- 6:13Speaker 2: of the ball. Just a shout out to these catchers, man.
- 6:16Speaker 2: They're real forces in the middle of these lineups and
- 6:20Speaker 2: having a great postseason. There's something about the warm summer
- 6:23Speaker 2: air and a cold corona with Lyme that makes the
- 6:25Speaker 2: roar of the crowd sound a lot like the roar
- 6:27Speaker 2: of the waves.
- 6:28Speaker 4: That's because this is our playa and the best seats
- 6:31Speaker 4: are always wherever you're sitting.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Whether it's a weeknight game under the lights or a
- 6:34Speaker 2: Sunday afternoon in the sun, you know baseball isn't about
- 6:38Speaker 2: rushing around. It's about settling in, letting the game come
- 6:41Speaker 2: to you. And nothing pairs better than an ice-cold Corona.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 6:46Speaker 4: So find your seat, your Corona, and your line. Because
- 6:51Speaker 4: real fans know the only thing better than nine innings
- 6:54Speaker 4: is extra innings. Especially on La Playa.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Corona.
- 6:59Speaker 4: La Playa awaits.

- 7:03Speaker 2: ordercorona.com for 21 plus. Relax responsibly. Corona Extra Beer, imported
- 7:10Speaker 2: by Crown Imports, Chicago, Illinois.
- 7:13Speaker 3: What's up, guys?
- 7:14Speaker 2: I need to tell you about this new prediction market
- 7:16Speaker 2: called Polymarket. It's the best new way to trade in sports.
- 7:19Speaker 2: In the past, if you wanted action on the game,
- 7:22Speaker 2: you'd put some money in, and if your team was
- 7:24Speaker 2: doing well and you wanted to cash out, they'd lock
- 7:26Speaker 2: the trade and take a huge fee. But Polymarket is
- 7:29Speaker 2: a prediction market. It's a stock exchange for sports, buying
- 7:33Speaker 2: in and selling out on your terms. I've tried them all,
- 7:35Speaker 2: and Polymarket is simply the best prediction market. better than DraftKings, FanDuel, Kalshi,
- 7:41Speaker 2: you name it. They're so confident you'll never go back
- 7:44Speaker 2: to the other guys. They're giving you a free $ 25
- 7:46Speaker 2: on your first trade when you deposit just $ 10. And
- 7:48Speaker 2: now they've launched a new feature, Squads, a group chat
- 7:52Speaker 2: where you can see what everyone is trading. So download
- 7:55Speaker 2: the Polymarket app today and use the code ROSSRIZZO when
- 7:59Speaker 2: you sign up. That's code ROSSRIZZO and get $ 25 free
- 8:02Speaker 2: after you deposit just $ 10. 2026, the catcher's.
- 8:07Speaker 1: That rake, right? Jonathan Aranda, tough air there first between
- 8:14Speaker 1: the legs. It's just one where, you know, even earlier
- 8:17Speaker 1: in that game, he dropped a foul ball on foul territory. Okay,
- 8:21Speaker 1: a little tough being near the wall there. Didn't really
- 8:26Speaker 1: know the spacing. But then there was a play where
- 8:29Speaker 1: it was a routine ground ball to second. He stretched
- 8:32Speaker 1: so early and almost got pulled off the back. And
- 8:34Speaker 1: I was like, oh man, like, He doesn't look too
- 8:37Speaker 1: comfortable over there. And then the air between the legs
- 8:39Speaker 1: there is just, you hate to see it as a
- 8:41Speaker 1: first baseman. You really do.
- 8:43Speaker 2: They were the second best defensive team during the regular season.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I know they played better at home and maybe that's
- 8:50Speaker 2: some factor in it on the turf versus the grass
- 8:53Speaker 2: with hops and different things. But, you know, watching this postseason,
- 8:57Speaker 2: I mean, Cooper Pratt booted one first, first play of
- 9:00Speaker 2: the game, you know, rushed a throw and, and made
- 9:04Speaker 2: an error. So, It hasn't been clean baseball really on
- 9:07Speaker 2: either side. Yesterday with the base running for Tampa, they've
- 9:12Speaker 2: got to look at themselves and be like, we're in
- 9:15Speaker 2: all these games and we're kicking ourselves in the butt.
- 9:20Speaker 1: The Aranda one I could see he kind of was
- 9:23Speaker 1: in between. Was he going to throw it home because
- 9:26Speaker 1: there was a runner on third or just take that
- 9:28Speaker 1: at first? Then it was an in-between hop that just
- 9:32Speaker 1: kind of got on him. But, yeah, the Cooper Pratt one, too,
- 9:36Speaker 1: first inning, first play, right? You give the Rays life.
- 9:40Speaker 1: And they end up scoring four on that. And he's
- 9:42Speaker 1: a rookie. So, for him to come up later in
- 9:46Speaker 1: that game, bottom of the seventh, and put the Brewers ahead, 5-4,
- 9:49Speaker 1: was like, damn, look at this kid, right? Like, that
- 9:53Speaker 1: shows you a lot about him. And also, Sal Frelick
- 9:57Speaker 1: with the home run, the tie in the bottom of
- 9:59Speaker 1: the sixth. the the Brewers claw back they fight back
- 10:05Speaker 1: this is what they do this is who they are
- 10:07Speaker 1: and then Sal Freelick ties in the six and it
- 10:09Speaker 1: was like okay this game's over honestly it was a
- 10:11Speaker 1: tie ball game it was.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Like this game's over We had him on set yesterday.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I was like, oh, it's good luck to come on
- 10:16Speaker 2: the ESPN set afterwards. Let's get everybody on there.
- 10:19Speaker 1: There you go. Hey, it's true.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I was texting the boys, hey, a little juju, a
- 10:22Speaker 2: little positive juju when you get on set. He's a
- 10:24Speaker 2: Boston guy, and we got to talk to him yesterday,
- 10:26Speaker 2: so what a cool, cool moment it was for him.
- 10:30Speaker 3: He was talking about how.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Amped up he was yesterday in his first at-bat to
- 10:33Speaker 2: get a knock, and he said, I just wanted to
- 10:35Speaker 2: get dirty.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I had to steal right away because I just wanted
- 10:37Speaker 3: to get dirty.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I felt like I needed to hit somebody like in football,
- 10:41Speaker 2: so And he had a quote there after the game
- 10:44Speaker 2: that said, Murph tells him he better not hit the
- 10:48Speaker 2: ball in the air to center field because he's never
- 10:50Speaker 2: going to hit one over the fence.
- 10:51Speaker 3: So he was pumped that he probably took a little
- 10:53Speaker 3: smack back to his manager.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I guess his first home run this year was like
- 11:01Speaker 2: in either the first game or first series of the
- 11:03Speaker 2: year off a lefty.
- 11:05Speaker 3: And then the one tonight. So congrats, Sal.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Drew Rasmussen, I thought, I thought Rasmussen settled in in
- 11:13Speaker 3: the third. He looked so good. That changeup had some depth. Like,
- 11:16Speaker 3: I was like, oh, here he goes. He just took
- 11:18Speaker 3: him a while. Didn't have his command early. Looked a
- 11:20Speaker 3: little rushed.
- 11:21Speaker 2: And then the Brew crew just.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Honestly, though, even settling in in the third, they had
- 11:26Speaker 1: him at 60-plus pitches. So how much can you really
- 11:29Speaker 1: settle in, right? They grind it, bro. That's how I
- 11:32Speaker 1: feel like that was a nine pitch at bat. Like,
- 11:35Speaker 1: that's just... This team, man, is... They got it. They
- 11:40Speaker 1: have the formula.
- 11:41Speaker 3: They're up 2-0.
- 11:43Speaker 1: And we haven't even talked about them yet. And this
- 11:46Speaker 1: is our first ever playas. Corona playas of the game. Playas.
- 11:53Speaker 1: The Milwaukee Brewers bullpen. Very fitting. The playas of the game.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Because I did have a few coronas during this game watching.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Saturday night. Baby's sleeping early. Enjoyed. But six innings of
- 12:05Speaker 1: shutout baseball, Rossi. JoJo Romero comes in. Dustin May, D.L. Hall,
- 12:10Speaker 1: Abner Uribe, and then Aaron Ashby, who's, what, an inning
- 12:14Speaker 1: and a third away scoreless from beating Andrew Miller's start
- 12:18Speaker 1: to the 2016 postseason?
- 12:19Speaker 3: I think he's a third.
- 12:21Speaker 2: He's at 15 and two-thirds, and Andrew's at 16.
- 12:24Speaker 3: So he's got to get one more out to tie
- 12:27Speaker 3: Andrew Miller. It's funny.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I didn't even know that stat when I compared the
- 12:30Speaker 2: two runs. But, I mean, what great company that is.
- 12:33Speaker 2: The guy's absolutely dealing. And it was, you know, you've
- 12:36Speaker 2: got to give some love to those early– guys like JoJo,
- 12:39Speaker 2: Dustin May that come in and, you know, those are
- 12:43Speaker 2: really important innings, keeping that thing, keeping the score down
- 12:47Speaker 2: and guys keep them, keep the Brewers in the game.
- 12:50Speaker 2: So then now they tie it up and now Pat
- 12:53Speaker 2: Murphy can go to the horses down there.
- 12:55Speaker 1: No doubt. So I saw after the game, they asked
- 12:59Speaker 1: Cash about, you know, getting your confidence back. How can
- 13:02Speaker 1: your team bounce back? And he said, we get on
- 13:04Speaker 1: a plane tomorrow, we fly home. And There's going to
- 13:06Speaker 1: be a lot of energy at the Trop, which there
- 13:08Speaker 1: will be, right? The fans in St. Pete are going
- 13:11Speaker 1: to be pumped. But this is one thing for me
- 13:13Speaker 1: that is so different in the postseason that I personally hated.
- 13:18Speaker 1: They're flying tomorrow. Why just fly tonight? Let the guys
- 13:22Speaker 1: get on the plane, talk ball. Do you want to
- 13:25Speaker 1: have a few pops on the plane to just come down?
- 13:29Speaker 1: You just enjoy it. You're used to getting in at 3.30,
- 13:32Speaker 1: 4 o'clock in the morning anyways during the regular season.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Why not just keep that routine? It's not like they're
- 13:36Speaker 1: going from the West Coast to the East Coast. So
- 13:40Speaker 1: that's something for me that just always bothered me when
- 13:42Speaker 1: we were on teams that did that.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I think the point that you make
- 13:48Speaker 2: that I agree with is after games like this, the
- 13:52Speaker 2: wind down is long. It's Alfredo said that he goes,
- 13:55Speaker 2: I don't know what time I'm gonna get to bed.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Cause I am amped. He said that last night.
- 13:58Speaker 2: And I was like, I remember that feeling like after
- 14:00Speaker 2: a world series game, emotionally you're drained, but you can't,
- 14:03Speaker 2: your energy is just your focus.
- 14:05Speaker 3: And it's just buzz.
- 14:06Speaker 2: About you from all the fans. And it takes a
- 14:10Speaker 2: while to come down. So that's, that's a, that's a
- 14:12Speaker 2: really good point that you make there. I was, I
- 14:16Speaker 2: was really impressed with, the at bats, we're talking about the, the,
- 14:21Speaker 2: the brewers at bats, like the guys at the.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Bottom of their lineup, you know, being able to move
- 14:26Speaker 3: the runners, button.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Guys over the lead off double there in the seventh
- 14:31Speaker 2: from terrain.
- 14:33Speaker 3: That to me was the big one.
- 14:34Speaker 2: They bought him over and then you get Cooper Pratt
- 14:37Speaker 2: who has, you know, they face Kelly.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Kelly's nasty.
- 14:40Speaker 1: That's sidearm stuff.
- 14:43Speaker 2: And last night, They had Cheerio get that double down
- 14:49Speaker 2: the right field line, letting it get deep. I think
- 14:52Speaker 2: Bowers had a double down the left field line, just
- 14:55Speaker 2: fair right on the line where D'Ambolino was staring at it.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Like they're doing a good job off the sidearms, letting
- 15:01Speaker 2: the ball travel, seeing it up and trying to stay
- 15:04Speaker 2: inside it and hit it the other way. And I
- 15:06Speaker 2: thought Cooper Pratt did a great job with two strikes
- 15:08Speaker 2: there and Bryce Turing at third to get that final
- 15:11Speaker 2: winning run in. I wanted to give a shout out
- 15:12Speaker 2: to that. Those at-bats have been really good off sidearm
- 15:15Speaker 2: guys where you want to leak, you want to pull off,
- 15:18Speaker 2: you want to hit it in the ground, and they hadn't,
- 15:20Speaker 2: all three guys that have gotten hits off of them
- 15:22Speaker 2: haven't done that at all.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Yeah, they know their role, honestly. You heard Sal Freely
- 15:25Speaker 1: after the game, he was like, we just want to
- 15:28Speaker 1: see pitches so the guys at the top of the
- 15:30Speaker 1: order can get their A swing off and swing 0-0
- 15:33Speaker 1: if they feel like it. So they feel, they've bought in,
- 15:36Speaker 1: they've bought into their roles, they're not trying to do
- 15:38Speaker 1: too much, and it shows, it really does, it shows
- 15:42Speaker 1: in every single at-bat, and they're up 2-0 because of
- 15:45Speaker 1: Rossi and This team is going to be really, really
- 15:49Speaker 1: hard to beat now if you're Tampa. How does Tampa
- 15:52Speaker 1: rebound from this?
- 15:54Speaker 2: Well, one more point. I don't know how they rebound.
- 15:57Speaker 2: I think it starts with Freddy Peralta and Tampa, right?
- 16:00Speaker 2: That's where they're going to have to go. They've got to, again,
- 16:03Speaker 2: they've got to get out to the lead. You can't
- 16:05Speaker 2: let the Brewers get that lead because that bullpen now,
- 16:08Speaker 2: off day, everybody's going.
- 16:08Speaker 3: To be able to reset.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Do you have to get out to the lead? Maybe
- 16:11Speaker 1: you can go reverse and let them get the lead.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I don't think... That's not the Rays winning formula.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I got a question for you.
- 16:19Speaker 2: So we got a lead-off double in the ninth from DeLuca.
- 16:25Speaker 1: And then... They don't put him over.
- 16:28Speaker 2: They don't put him left on left. I thought for
- 16:30Speaker 2: sure he was going to bunt there. I know they tried...
- 16:32Speaker 2: He took the first one, swallowed it, closed it, challenged
- 16:35Speaker 2: it for strike one, but didn't square. Then he squared
- 16:39Speaker 2: for a ball and then fouled one off.
- 16:41Speaker 3: And it was one and two.
- 16:44Speaker 2: What was your thought? Were you thinking about there? You're like,
- 16:46Speaker 2: I don't know, maybe he'll pull one.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Roll it over. I feel like, honestly, Rossi, this is
- 16:54Speaker 1: such an old school, new school offense that we're seeing
- 16:57Speaker 1: by both of these teams, right? They do slug they
- 17:02Speaker 1: do hit the ball in the gap, but when a
- 17:04Speaker 1: guy gets on first, no outs, the guy's bunting. If you're,
- 17:07Speaker 1: if you're a, yeah, a lesser, you know, not a big,
- 17:11Speaker 1: as big a threat, it doesn't matter really who you're
- 17:15Speaker 1: putting the bunt down. So it was very surprising there
- 17:17Speaker 1: in the ninth, not getting him over. Uh, it was, uh, Mesa, Mesa.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 3: So maybe that was shocked, but maybe that's part of it. Uh,
- 17:26Speaker 3: you know, maybe there's a ton of swing and miss
- 17:28Speaker 3: in there. I don't have his stats left.
- 17:29Speaker 1: On left though. I don't know, man. Like, yeah, The
- 17:33Speaker 1: thing is, though, is if you're.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Watching– But they just– they led the league in bunting
- 17:36Speaker 2: this year. They led the league in bunting, and so.
- 17:37Speaker 1: It's just in my mind.
- 17:38Speaker 3: I'm like, you're for sure getting that.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Yeah. I think a huge takeaway from watching these two
- 17:43Speaker 1: games is we talk about the league being a copycat league,
- 17:47Speaker 1: and you know all these executives are watching. The value
- 17:50Speaker 1: of getting guys over and the pressure, right? It's just pressure, pressure, pressure.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Every inning. You get that leadoff guy on, they're bunting
- 17:59Speaker 1: him over. It's runner on second. The pitcher now has
- 18:02Speaker 1: to get two out to the running and scoring position.
- 18:04Speaker 1: So it's just pressure, pressure, pressure. And I feel like
- 18:07Speaker 1: if anything is to take away from these first two games,
- 18:09Speaker 1: if you're another team, is, wow, we need to start
- 18:12Speaker 1: applying old-school pressure by just a simple bunt, making the
- 18:16Speaker 1: pitcher field his position.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, the little details.
- 18:21Speaker 2: I remember when we weren't very good after you left,
- 18:23Speaker 2: after I traded you.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Apparently, away.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 18:26Speaker 3: We weren't very good.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You're coming along. We tried to.
- 18:31Speaker 2: I try to just take advantage of every little small
- 18:35Speaker 2: detail and learn to kind of hit and run, steal
- 18:39Speaker 2: those little things with the guys that can do it.
- 18:41Speaker 2: But what I'll say is I think some of that
- 18:43Speaker 2: sloppy play that we're seeing from two really good defensive
- 18:46Speaker 2: teams is the fact that everybody's got some speed. They're
- 18:51Speaker 2: an aggressive team already on the bases. So everybody feels
- 18:55Speaker 2: like they're playing at a faster speed than probably other
- 18:58Speaker 2: teams they've competed against throughout the year. This feels like
- 19:01Speaker 2: The game is moving really fast for some guys out
- 19:03Speaker 2: there on the field.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I definitely see that. I mean, it's it's
- 19:06Speaker 1: just nonstop pressure on both ends. So you're saying. The
- 19:11Speaker 1: Rays bounce back, starting with Freddy Peralta, right? Like, but
- 19:16Speaker 1: they grow, they get on that plane tomorrow and it's like.
- 19:20Speaker 1: You're you're. sad you're flying back it's it's like a
- 19:25Speaker 1: i don't.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Know man i bet you know what i bet it
- 19:27Speaker 2: is and this is this probably piss you off too
- 19:30Speaker 2: because we've had conversations like this and i know there's
- 19:32Speaker 2: a pet peeve for jay but this time of year
- 19:35Speaker 2: you've got so many people with you families are probably
- 19:38Speaker 2: flying kids little stuff like that so let's like let
- 19:41Speaker 2: everybody get a good night's sleep get up in the
- 19:43Speaker 2: morning and and go where everybody's resting we have some
- 19:46Speaker 2: crying kid on the plane on the way back and
- 19:49Speaker 2: i know what you're gonna say but I, maybe that's
- 19:51Speaker 2: another reason.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Would you try to, I'm trying to let the fans in.
- 19:54Speaker 2: On, on some of the details that, that happened this
- 19:56Speaker 2: time of year.
- 19:57Speaker 1: No, if, if, if you're the Brewers, you're telling your fans,
- 20:02Speaker 1: we'll see at the parade. If you're the Rays, I
- 20:05Speaker 1: remember this when we were in Cleveland, I said, we'll
- 20:07Speaker 1: see you guys for game six. right, when we were
- 20:10Speaker 1: leaving Cleveland. That's right. Telling the visiting clubbies, hey, we'll
- 20:14Speaker 1: see you guys for game six and seven. So, man, Rossi, look,
- 20:19Speaker 1: we were on a team that came back from 3-1, right,
- 20:22Speaker 1: and we believed it. We truly did, which we ultimately
- 20:27Speaker 1: did it. But being down 2-0 in this hole, they
- 20:30Speaker 1: do have Freddy Peralta going, who's a stud. And they're
- 20:34Speaker 1: going to have to get creative, though, on the back
- 20:35Speaker 1: end of that bullpen. I feel like it's kind of
- 20:37Speaker 1: been exposed these first two games of, There's no one
- 20:40Speaker 1: to bridge that gap if the starters don't go somewhat deep.
- 20:45Speaker 3: No, you're 100% right.
- 20:46Speaker 2: And we're getting a good series, close games, coming down
- 20:51Speaker 2: to guys in scoring position in the ninth inning. And
- 20:53Speaker 2: the Brewers are just doing what they've done all year long.
- 20:56Speaker 2: And it feels like they are a team of destiny
- 20:59Speaker 2: this year. But somebody's got to stop it. And the
- 21:02Speaker 2: Rays have to get one in the win column. And
- 21:05Speaker 2: then you start to now all the doubt, just a
- 21:07Speaker 2: little doubt starts to creep in. Then the next game,
- 21:10Speaker 2: something goes your way, or you have a great starting
- 21:14Speaker 2: outing from your starting pitcher.
- 21:17Speaker 3: But you've got to break that seal and get one
- 21:19Speaker 3: in the win column.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Who wins, Rossi? Tell me why. Game three.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Okay, so for my polymarket pick, we got the raise
- 21:26Speaker 2: of 52% to the yes, which I've been wrong twice already.
- 21:30Speaker 2: And so if you, Riz, I will point that out.
- 21:32Speaker 2: $ 100 gets you back $ 186. Brewers are 49% to the yes.
- 21:38Speaker 2: and $ 100 will get you $ 197. I am going to
- 21:42Speaker 2: stick with my terrible predictions and go with a Tampa
- 21:45Speaker 2: Bay Rays and hoping Fastball Freddy is able to step
- 21:49Speaker 2: up and make me some money. That's my polymarket pick.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Come on, Freddy Peralta. I think that the Brewers go
- 21:57Speaker 1: up 3-0, Rossi. I do. I think that they're just,
- 22:01Speaker 1: this is their year. They're going to, I think they're
- 22:04Speaker 1: going to close out this series in five games. I
- 22:06Speaker 1: think the Rays can steal. Maybe one, but I do
- 22:09Speaker 1: think they go up 3-0. If they go.
- 22:11Speaker 3: To steal, it's going to be tomorrow for my polymarket pig.
- 22:13Speaker 1: No, they're going to be flying on a plane all
- 22:17Speaker 1: sad tomorrow, and then they're going to have to get
- 22:18Speaker 1: up for the next day to play. But you know
- 22:22Speaker 1: what I do think we need to see from the race?
- 22:25Speaker 1: Easy for me to sit back on a mic and
- 22:27Speaker 1: say this, but I think that at some point cash
- 22:31Speaker 1: in game three, if needed, Brian Baker may have to
- 22:34Speaker 1: come in in the 6th, 7th, or 8th if there's
- 22:36Speaker 1: a huge spot. to get them out of a jam
- 22:38Speaker 1: and then just figure it out from there. Right. Cause
- 22:41Speaker 1: it seems like when this Brewers team gets a lead
- 22:44Speaker 1: in the sixth inning or on it's, it's lights out
- 22:47Speaker 1: game over.
- 22:47Speaker 2: But that's, what's so hard about having a closer that
- 22:51Speaker 2: doesn't really go multiples is that he doesn't do you
- 22:55Speaker 2: any good, you know, at home he will write and we'll,
- 22:58Speaker 2: we'll see him for sure, but he doesn't do any
- 23:01Speaker 2: good if you don't get in the game and you
- 23:02Speaker 2: can't get the lead in the right spots.
- 23:04Speaker 3: So, um, Yeah, it's a challenge.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Definitely the Brewers' bullpen has looked head and shoulders above
- 23:11Speaker 2: the Rays, even though it's not like the Rays are
- 23:14Speaker 2: getting hit all over the place out of the bullpen.
- 23:16Speaker 2: It's just they've grinded guys out, and that's what.
- 23:19Speaker 3: The Brewers do. So I'm with you. They've got to
- 23:21Speaker 3: get Baker in the game.
- 23:23Speaker 2: We've got to see him in some big spot, especially
- 23:27Speaker 2: if it gets hairy and you can't wait until the
- 23:29Speaker 2: ninth inning.
- 23:30Speaker 1: No doubt. And, too, one last point. them being down 2-0,
- 23:34Speaker 1: they have to, they're going to be, Cash is managing
- 23:37Speaker 1: game three like it's game seven now.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 1: And that's the first of three in a row. So,
- 23:42Speaker 1: the bullpen already got taxed the first two. The only
- 23:45Speaker 1: guy really who didn't is Baker. So, these first three, like,
- 23:49Speaker 1: if they don't score a ton of runs, which these
- 23:52Speaker 1: teams both play one-run games, it's what they do, it's
- 23:54Speaker 1: their MO, it's going to be tough, you know, come
- 23:56Speaker 1: game six if they, or game five, right, if they
- 24:00Speaker 1: get to a game five. So, We'll see, Rossi. It's
- 24:03Speaker 1: going to be a good one. Get the day off tomorrow.
- 24:06Speaker 1: And then Monday, Game 3 live in Tampa. That should
- 24:12Speaker 1: be fun for those fans in St. Pete. Hopefully they
- 24:14Speaker 1: get to enjoy that. People get to go to these games.
- 24:16Speaker 1: That's something, too, watching that I was just kind of
- 24:20Speaker 1: in my own feelings of the fans going to the
- 24:23Speaker 1: game and spending this time and these memories, these core memories.
- 24:27Speaker 1: for these fans, these core memories for the families that
- 24:30Speaker 1: are there, the wives, the wives section, right? The family section.
- 24:33Speaker 1: So just all around the world series always just brings
- 24:36Speaker 1: everyone together. It's been fun to watch.
- 24:39Speaker 2: It was hard for me not to go in the
- 24:41Speaker 2: memorabilia store just to buy like a world series shirt.
- 24:43Speaker 3: And I was like, I don't want a brewers world
- 24:45Speaker 3: series shirt.
- 24:46Speaker 1: But it was like to raise one with that green. Yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Well, they got a cool logo. You know how like
- 24:51Speaker 2: the logo is different every year. They've got, when I
- 24:53Speaker 2: walked in, it's first thing I said to, uh, Uh,
- 24:56Speaker 2: my boss, Scott Gustafson was like, I looked up to the, the,
- 24:59Speaker 2: the big screen.
- 25:00Speaker 3: They had the logo out there. I was like, oh,
- 25:01Speaker 3: they got a cool logo this year. Some of them,
- 25:03Speaker 3: you look back and some of them were like, Ooh,
- 25:04Speaker 3: that's a, that's a little much, but we had a
- 25:07Speaker 3: good one. We had a good one.
- 25:08Speaker 2: And, uh, they've definitely got a good one this year that, uh,
- 25:11Speaker 2: somebody is going to have plastered all over every, every
- 25:13Speaker 2: memorabilia that they have.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I get asked, I've been getting asked a lot from
- 25:17Speaker 1: my friends, like who are you rooting for? I know
- 25:19Speaker 1: you used to hate the Brewers and you used to
- 25:21Speaker 1: hate the Rays. I'm like, bro, I'm just sitting back
- 25:24Speaker 1: and watching this as a fan and a fan only,
- 25:26Speaker 1: not a rivalry or anything like that. But, yeah, the
- 25:30Speaker 1: World Series logo does look good. It's fun to get
- 25:32Speaker 1: in the media.
- 25:33Speaker 3: You're just looking for a good game. You're looking for
- 25:36Speaker 3: a tight game, good pitching, big hits.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Guys, you know, I was saying this the other day,
- 25:40Speaker 2: and we'll get to the ball bags, but I love
- 25:43Speaker 2: seeing guys, you know, meet the moment. is kind of
- 25:46Speaker 2: the saying that I heard somebody say, like the moment
- 25:49Speaker 2: comes up where you can either strike out or you
- 25:51Speaker 2: can get a.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Big knock and, and grind in a bad 11 pitch
- 25:54Speaker 3: at bat.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Or, you know, we saw some of those from Mitchell
- 25:57Speaker 2: and Bowers and the, in the CS and, you know,
- 26:00Speaker 2: South Fralick tonight, having that big home run to tie
- 26:03Speaker 2: it up of unexpected moment, just seeing guys meet the moment,
- 26:06Speaker 2: whether it's defensively, offensively is this stuff you root for
- 26:09Speaker 2: and watching guys come through when it matters the most.
- 26:11Speaker 2: And the fans are on their feet and everybody's nervous and,
- 26:15Speaker 2: The energy is so high and guys are just really
- 26:16Speaker 2: poised and grinded and so focused.
- 26:18Speaker 3: I love that shit.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like when these guys do meet the moment,
- 26:23Speaker 1: that's when you see the little kid in them come out,
- 26:26Speaker 1: which is just, you love to see it as a
- 26:28Speaker 1: fan and watching.

- 29:05Speaker 1: a comment on our YouTube channel or on our Instagram
- 29:08Speaker 1: or our socials. We always try to get to them.
- 29:11Speaker 1: We love them. First one is a YouTube comment from Tim.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Church Key-UW, can you and Ross please talk about why
- 29:20Speaker 1: check swings can't be challenged on instant replay? Seems umps
- 29:26Speaker 1: get these calls wrong a lot. Very fitting question.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Good timing. Yeah, good timing on that one.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Christmas, I don't know if he was saving that or
- 29:35Speaker 2: that one just came in, but first one off the
- 29:38Speaker 2: top with Yandy Diaz in Indiana. the game on a
- 29:40Speaker 2: check swing call. I've heard there's technology coming that is
- 29:47Speaker 2: going to somehow put, I don't know if it's a
- 29:50Speaker 2: laser or break some kind of plane on a check
- 29:54Speaker 2: swing that they'll be able to check. Um, I don't
- 29:57Speaker 2: know if there'll be under a challenge, but I have
- 29:59Speaker 2: heard rumors of that may be coming, uh, down the.
- 30:03Speaker 3: What is a pike or pipe? What's the saying coming
- 30:06Speaker 3: down the pipe pipeline?
- 30:07Speaker 1: I don't know. Pipeline something.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Anyways, I think that, I think that may be coming, but, um,
- 30:13Speaker 2: you know, I do think that definitely the energy of
- 30:16Speaker 2: the fans sometimes may sway an umpire. Um, it's a
- 30:20Speaker 2: hard call. There's no real hard, fast rules. It's an
- 30:23Speaker 2: attempt to swing. Um, You know, it's a tough one.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I think we all– there's nothing– the first time I
- 30:29Speaker 2: ever got tossed, Vic Carapazza is in the– is on
- 30:33Speaker 2: this crew, and I like Vic a lot.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I dealt with him a lot.
- 30:36Speaker 2: But the first time I ever got tossed was in
- 30:39Speaker 2: Boston on a check swing, and he shooed me off
- 30:41Speaker 2: the field, and I didn't like.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Being disrespected, so I went and had a few choice words.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Well, I wish Yandy would have did that because there's
- 30:48Speaker 1: no way he went, in my opinion. I think that–
- 30:52Speaker 1: I think that by rule– I believe the rule states
- 30:56Speaker 1: if you attempt to swing, right? Well, we attempt to
- 31:01Speaker 1: swing every single pitch. We just stop, right? So anytime
- 31:07Speaker 1: the bat moves other than like any little flinch should
- 31:10Speaker 1: technically be a check swing. So it's just the rules
- 31:15Speaker 1: worded wrong. It's not a defined rule. But I feel
- 31:21Speaker 1: like you have to really give yourself– a big attempt. Like,
- 31:27Speaker 1: these small attempts where you clearly see the guy trying
- 31:29Speaker 1: to take the swing back and not swing. With how
- 31:33Speaker 1: hard the game is now, guys are throwing, Miz is
- 31:35Speaker 1: throwing 105, right? Your swing decision is so short. Can
- 31:41Speaker 1: we give, we want more offense. Can we give the
- 31:43Speaker 1: hitters a little grace?
- 31:44Speaker 2: Right?
- 31:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:45Speaker 1: That's what I'll do when I'm commissioner for the day.
- 31:48Speaker 1: You know, they ask that question. What would you do
- 31:49Speaker 1: for commissioner of the day?
- 31:51Speaker 3: Give them a little more grace.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Hopefully, we got some technology that'll define that and we'll
- 31:55Speaker 2: be able to move on because a lot of the
- 31:57Speaker 2: rule changes we've had have really helped the pace of
- 32:00Speaker 2: play and take away some of those discretionary things that
- 32:03Speaker 2: drive us crazy as fans. Next email from Justin Lackney.
- 32:07Speaker 2: I think Justin's already emailed in a couple of times.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Thanks, Justin.
- 32:11Speaker 3: What was your favorite restaurant on the road? Ooh, good question.
- 32:14Speaker 3: And one that you go to every time you are
- 32:17Speaker 3: in that town. Ooh, man.
- 32:22Speaker 2: All right, I'm going to go. I'm going to start
- 32:24Speaker 2: this one. Cause you live there, but I go, there's
- 32:28Speaker 2: a place called Campagnola's in New York city. That is
- 32:32Speaker 2: some of the best Italian I've ever had. Shout out
- 32:37Speaker 2: Upper East. Frankie D runs the door there and he
- 32:43Speaker 2: takes care of me every time we go. I've never
- 32:45Speaker 2: seen a menu there. They just start bringing out the
- 32:47Speaker 2: most amazing food. And the chicken parm is like thin
- 32:52Speaker 2: and big. And they do this pasta sampler platter. And
- 32:56Speaker 2: they do this steak on this skillet that cooks right
- 32:58Speaker 2: in front of you. It is just my favorite. And
- 33:00Speaker 2: they've got this huge dessert tray they bring out. That's
- 33:04Speaker 2: the first one that I feel like I always go
- 33:06Speaker 2: to when I go to New York. But I feel
- 33:08Speaker 2: like there's so many, Riz. There's so many I could
- 33:11Speaker 2: list off.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Mine are going to be very boring to you,
- 33:15Speaker 1: but I'm going to explain my reasoning. I have four.
- 33:17Speaker 1: that immediately popped in my head. Do not say Moe's
- 33:20Speaker 1: in Pittsburgh. First one, every time I went to Pittsburgh,
- 33:23Speaker 1: I went to Moe's. Every night game, I was at
- 33:26Speaker 1: Moe's in Pittsburgh. And I would walk in, me and
- 33:28Speaker 1: Tim Buss, who we named this segment after Tim Buss,
- 33:31Speaker 1: ball bag question, would walk in and we would just scream,
- 33:34Speaker 1: welcome to Moe's. Not an ad, wish it was. Second one,
- 33:39Speaker 1: second and third in New York, when I was a visitor,
- 33:43Speaker 1: after every game playing the Mets, I would go down
- 33:46Speaker 1: to Joe's Pizza on 14th Street, get a couple slices, right?
- 33:52Speaker 1: Just wish that someone recognized me in there and take
- 33:55Speaker 1: a picture and put me on the wall. To this day,
- 33:57Speaker 1: it never happened, right? But I really just wished like
- 34:00Speaker 1: for 10 years going.
- 34:01Speaker 3: We got to make that happen.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I just wanted Joe's Pizza, someone there to recognize me
- 34:05Speaker 1: and get on that wall. Never happened. Went every night game.
- 34:08Speaker 1: And then from there, we walked to the OG Milk Bar.
- 34:13Speaker 1: where this was before Milk Bar blew up, and now
- 34:15Speaker 1: it's in all stores. It was a couple blocks away,
- 34:18Speaker 1: so we'd walk there and get the little cake bite balls.
- 34:23Speaker 1: They're unreal. So every time in New York. And then,
- 34:26Speaker 1: this is going to be a surprise, Rossi. In Atlanta,
- 34:31Speaker 1: I'd always walk to Publix and get a Pub Sub
- 34:35Speaker 1: because it made me feel like I was home. Shout
- 34:37Speaker 1: out to Publix.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Shout out, Pub Sub. Hey, I heard you on Barstool.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I want you to hear your fourth one. I heard
- 34:42Speaker 2: you on Barstool. And the guy asked you about what's
- 34:45Speaker 2: your pub sub order. And I was like, that's such
- 34:47Speaker 2: a Florida thing, bro. Public subs are gangster. Yep.
- 34:52Speaker 1: So that's my... Sorry. Not anything fancy there, but.
- 34:56Speaker 2: That's good. There's so many good restaurants. I feel like
- 34:59Speaker 2: there's so many. And when you started listing different places,
- 35:03Speaker 2: my mind was going crazy. But good question.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Good question.
- 35:06Speaker 3: We should do that a lot. Hey, before we get
- 35:08Speaker 3: to the last ball bag.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I want to thank our fans.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Our social, our IG reached 50,000 followers.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Let's go over 50K. Let's go. Thank you, everyone. It's
- 35:20Speaker 1: been fun. Thanks. Thank you, guys.
- 35:22Speaker 2: I want to say that when we got on there,
- 35:24Speaker 2: we got a nice shout out from our production company
- 35:27Speaker 2: that showed us you guys are.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Logging in and following us and listening. And it's just
- 35:34Speaker 3: such a cool thing to happen. So just want to
- 35:36Speaker 3: say thanks.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Been a ton of fun, especially. getting to talk the
- 35:40Speaker 1: game with my partner the last email from jeff smith
- 35:44Speaker 1: in orlando hi guys we know rossi became a manager
- 35:47Speaker 1: but during your careers were you able to tell what
- 35:50Speaker 1: players moving forward become managers after they retired.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Hmm that's uh yeah for sure i think.
- 35:57Speaker 2: There's a lot i mean we got daniel descalzo's in
- 36:01Speaker 2: the dugout for st louis as a bench coach um
- 36:04Speaker 2: skip schumacher i didn't play with him with who.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Who John Jay's on the staff.
- 36:10Speaker 2: John Jay. Yeah, you feel like Yachty's going to be
- 36:12Speaker 2: the catcher thing is big. I think there's guys that
- 36:15Speaker 2: you're around that you know are going to stick in
- 36:17Speaker 2: the game in some capacity that just are kind of
- 36:22Speaker 2: baseball rats somehow. And a lot of those guys probably
- 36:26Speaker 2: make enough money that may not be on their radar.
- 36:29Speaker 2: And then there's role players like myself that– can stay
- 36:34Speaker 2: in the game, make a little more money and still
- 36:36Speaker 2: be around something that, that I really love.
- 36:38Speaker 3: And yeah, I, I mean, I think certain guy, I'm
- 36:42Speaker 3: trying to think who else.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Did you play with anyone that's managed? Yeah.
- 36:47Speaker 3: I play with Dave Roberts.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Did you play with Kevin Cash? Were you on that team?
- 36:51Speaker 1: I play with Kevin Cash.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Yeah. I play with Cash. Cash stands out. Dave Roberts,
- 36:56Speaker 2: Robin Ventura managed the White Sox for a little bit.
- 36:59Speaker 2: He was, he was a mentor of mine. Alex Cora
- 37:02Speaker 2: played with him. They're, When I was in L.A., it was.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Cora, Robin Ventura, myself, and Dave Roberts all managing the
- 37:09Speaker 3: big leagues off that team. Damn. Crazy.
- 37:12Speaker 2: And we played for Jim Tracy, Chad Tracy's dad.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Managed Red Sox now. How about that?
- 37:20Speaker 2: Wow.
- 37:20Speaker 1: That's pretty good. Yeah, it's pretty cool. I believe played
- 37:24Speaker 1: with two managers, you, David Ross, and Will Venable.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Oh, Will Venable.
- 37:31Speaker 1: There you go. Surprise Will got into managing. Honestly, I
- 37:35Speaker 1: knew you talked the game like that, especially from catchers.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I feel like catchers always make good managers for some reason. But, yeah, it's–
- 37:46Speaker 1: managing is hard, man. Like, it's just a losing– you lose, lose. Like,
- 37:52Speaker 1: Pat Murphy wins the World Series this year or Kevin Cash,
- 37:56Speaker 1: and the next five years if they don't win, they
- 37:58Speaker 1: just get torched. It's like a thankless job. Yeah, it is.
- 38:04Speaker 3: But there's a lot of negativity, obviously, in the position.
- 38:08Speaker 2: But when you get to be around dudes like you, Nico,
- 38:13Speaker 2: like when you get to be around players and they
- 38:16Speaker 2: get better, it's just so rewarding. And being in that
- 38:18Speaker 2: being in the fight is what I miss the most
- 38:21Speaker 2: when you're when, you know, TV's fun because you get
- 38:23Speaker 2: to watch and you're in you're calling the games or
- 38:25Speaker 2: you're in the on the field and you get to
- 38:27Speaker 2: the camaraderie, but then when you're done, it's just like, Oh,
- 38:30Speaker 2: I didn't, I didn't have a good day game, a
- 38:32Speaker 2: bad game, whatever.
- 38:32Speaker 3: There's no like feedback when you're in the fight.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Like the losses feel like, you know, the world's coming
- 38:38Speaker 2: to the end and the wind, the winds are like, okay,
- 38:40Speaker 2: onto the.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Next day, you know? So no doubt you want to
- 38:43Speaker 3: do that.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Getting into managing.
- 38:45Speaker 2: The last thing I'll say on that is like Booney said,
- 38:49Speaker 2: the goal is to win the damn world series, you know?
- 38:52Speaker 2: And when you win one as a player, you know,
- 38:53Speaker 2: that's one of the, greatest things you'll ever do. And
- 38:56Speaker 2: then to lead a group of men to do that
- 38:57Speaker 2: would be even more special. So that's the, that's the,
- 39:00Speaker 2: that's the juice. That's the rub that gets you and
- 39:02Speaker 2: keeps you going.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, it's, it's, there's only 30 managers and
- 39:07Speaker 1: it's a special job. It's a hard job. You have
- 39:10Speaker 1: to have a lot of, a lot of patience. You
- 39:13Speaker 1: have to have thick skin. That's for damn sure. So
- 39:16Speaker 1: good questions for the, good questions for the, I got
- 39:19Speaker 1: thick skin. I got thick skin here. You can't pull fat.
- 39:22Speaker 1: You cannot pull fat. So, Again, thank you, everyone. We
- 39:26Speaker 1: hit 50,000 followers on our channels today. Really. cool for
- 39:30Speaker 1: us to see this thing grow. We love talking the game.
- 39:33Speaker 1: We hope everyone listening enjoys it. Leave comments. Share with
- 39:37Speaker 1: your friends. Share with your family. We will see you
- 39:40Speaker 1: on Monday for Game 3 down in Tampa. Rossi will
- 39:44Speaker 1: be boots on the ground. Rizzo Ross out.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Peace.
