- 0:01John chapter 12 Let us pray. Lord God Almighty, here we are.
- 0:07We sit at your feet, Lord, we are expectant, Father.
- 0:12We are expectant to learn from you, Lord, to be touched by
- 0:16these words. Father, I pray that you'll open
- 0:19up our hearts and minds. God, open up our understanding.
- 0:23God, let us feel the depths of your love for us.
- 0:26God, let us have the mind of Christ as we allow these
- 0:31scriptures to change us from the inside out.
- 0:34God, here we are, or we are waiting and we desire to be
- 0:38taught by you. Lord, I decrease as you
- 0:42increase. Show us your eternal paths.
- 0:45God, lead us in the high paths. God, take us to new heights of
- 0:51your glory and let us sit in it and bask in the beauty.
- 0:56Father, heal us, cleanse us, God, make us more like Jesus.
- 1:01And Lord, I pray that we will be found doing whatever it is that
- 1:05you desire for us for today. And so God, help us, help us to
- 1:11know you better. Help us to know your words.
- 1:15Help them, help them to become part of who we are.
- 1:18Lord, we love you in this, in Jesus Christ, holy and precious
- 1:22name that I pray, Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 1:29Then Jesus, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany, where
- 1:33Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the
- 1:37dead. So here we can see that Lazarus
- 1:40was dead, dead and he stinketh. And here you can see that
- 1:45they're going to throw a little get together in honor of Lazarus
- 1:50coming back from the dead. Verse 2.
- 1:53There they made him a supper and Martha served, but Lazarus was
- 1:57one of them that sat at the table with him.
- 2:00So we could see Martha here and she's stepping into her servant
- 2:05role. Aren't we thankful for the
- 2:07Martha's in this world? Aren't we thankful for those who
- 2:10have the gift of serving? There could be no Mary's if they
- 2:14were not Martha's. And so we are eternally grateful
- 2:18for those that have that gift. Verse 3 then took Mary a pound
- 2:23of ointment of spikenard, very costly and anointed the feet of
- 2:27Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair and the house was
- 2:31filled with the odor of the ointment.
- 2:34So you can see here that this was a year's wages is how much
- 2:39this perfume would have cost. And Mary spared no expense on
- 2:46our Lord Jesus Christ as she poured it out.
- 2:50She was undignified and it would have been embarrassing to see
- 2:55this display of affection at the feet of Jesus.
- 2:59Let's see how everyone reacts. For then said one of his
- 3:05disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray
- 3:09him, Five Why was not this ointment sold for 300 pence and
- 3:14given to the poor? So we know that Judas here
- 3:17didn't have the right heart. We know that he was a thief.
- 3:20It's going to tell us here in a minute that he cared nothing for
- 3:23the poor. But look at how Mary, she loves
- 3:28Jesus and she sees that his words have pointed them in the
- 3:34direction that he is to go to the cross.
- 3:37And so here she's anointing him for his death.
- 3:41She's anointing him for his burial.
- 3:43And here she put the perfume on him that he went to the grave
- 3:51smelling like. How amazing is this?
- 3:54If you can just imagine this fragrance, the fragrance of how
- 4:00we perceive baby powder, if you think of that, that is the
- 4:04spikenard. And so therefore Jesus went to
- 4:08the cross smelling like this beautiful fragrance.
- 4:13And Mary, here she is at his feet and she is pouring it all
- 4:18out. And we should do the same.
- 4:20We need to be like Mary and we need to be like Martha and we
- 4:25need to be balanced in our approach.
- 4:28We need to be practical in the things that have to happen, but
- 4:32we need to be non sparing of our devotion and our adoration and
- 4:37affection unto the Lord. We need to pour it all out unto
- 4:41Him and be undignified. 6 This he said, not that he cared for
- 4:50the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the bag and bore
- 4:54what was put in it. So we can see here that Judas
- 4:57helped himself to the money bag. 7 Then said, Jesus, leave her
- 5:02alone against the day of my bearing.
- 5:05Has she kept this for the poor? Always you have with you, but me
- 5:10you have not always. So perhaps Jesus's rebuke of
- 5:15Judas is what sparked him to go and to sell our Lord out for 30
- 5:21pieces of silver. And you can see here that Jesus
- 5:26knew that Mary had kept it back in.
- 5:29Instead of waiting for him to die to use it, she went ahead
- 5:34and poured it out on him while he was still living and could
- 5:37enjoy it. 9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was
- 5:42there, and they came, not for Jesus sake only, but that they
- 5:46might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
- 5:50So look at how Jesus has made a stink here in town and look at
- 5:57how Lazarus was the object lesson of the power, the great
- 6:02power that Jesus Christ possessed.
- 6:05And he was able to raise him from the dead after four days.
- 6:10And it would have been common thought in that land that on the
- 6:144th day there was no chance of being resuscitated.
- 6:19And you can see here that Jesus is proving that he is the
- 6:24Messiah. And all the people came to lay
- 6:27eyes not just on Jesus, but on Lazarus, because he proved that
- 6:31Jesus was who he said he was. 10 But the chief priests consulted
- 6:36that they might put Lazarus also to death, 11 because that by
- 6:41reason of him many of the Jews went away and believed on Jesus.
- 6:45So you can see here that these Jews were envious of the power
- 6:51of Jesus Christ and how Lazarus was proof to all the people
- 6:56around. And they were afraid.
- 6:59They were afraid of losing their position and that Rome would
- 7:03come in and take away their land and take away their heritage and
- 7:07take away the temple. And so they thought that it was
- 7:11much better for Lazarus and Jesus to die than to lose the
- 7:16temple and to lose all of their rituals and to lose all their
- 7:20traditions. And they had missed the mark
- 7:23that Jesus Christ fulfilled all of the law, and he came to
- 7:28introduce them to this period of grace that you and I find
- 7:33ourselves in. And it is grace that abounds,
- 7:37friends. And we know that we're gonna
- 7:39stand before Almighty God in every bit of our sin is going to
- 7:45be covered by the blood of Jesus Christ, and we don't have to
- 7:49worry and fret and bite our nails and wonder if we're going
- 7:52to make it there because of the work of Jesus Christ.
- 7:56And he came to introduce this liberty unto them, and they
- 8:01refused it because they were too afraid of losing all of their
- 8:07understanding of God and how God worked.
- 8:11And so you can see here that they resulted to violence in the
- 8:15way of Cain, and they killed their brother Abel. 12 On the
- 8:22next day, much people that will come to the feast, when they
- 8:25heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of
- 8:30palm trees and went forth to meet him and cried, Hosanna,
- 8:34blessed is the king of Israel that comes in the name of the
- 8:37Lord. So you can see here that they
- 8:39were looking for a military leader, a political usurper that
- 8:43was going to come in and overthrow the Roman rule, and
- 8:47they missed the mark. They were not looking for a
- 8:49savior of the world, someone who could take away their sins.
- 8:54They were looking for a hyper nationalized political leader.
- 8:58And that is the reason they are quick to fulfill all of these
- 9:03messianic psalms that were written of him.
- 9:08And you can see here that Jesus came in a way of his first
- 9:12advent, not in their expectant second advent.
- 9:17And they were unfamiliar with the suffering servant, and so
- 9:20they rejected him. 14 In Jesus, when he had found a young ass,
- 9:26sat on it, as it is written. 15 Fear not, daughter Zion, behold,
- 9:33your king comes sitting on an Asus colt. 16 These things
- 9:38understood not his disciples at the first, but when Jesus was
- 9:42glorified, then remembered they that these things were written
- 9:47of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
- 9:50So you can see Jesus riding in on this little donkey, You can
- 9:53see the mother right beside it, studying this unbroken beast.
- 9:58You can see that He's coming in as the Prince of Peace, not as a
- 10:03military conqueror. You can see that He's riding in
- 10:08and He has all authority and He is showing them that He is the
- 10:13Messiah if they would accept it. And here the disciples were not
- 10:19yet indwelled with the Holy Spirit, and so they had missed
- 10:22that He was fulfilling so many different prophecies and it's no
- 10:26different for us today. There are many prophecies that
- 10:29are coming to fruition today and we missed the mark.
- 10:32And it won't be until we're on the other side that we see that
- 10:37all of these things were moving in accordance and they're very
- 10:40congruent with all of Scripture. And when Jesus says that people
- 10:44will be lovers of self and lovers of money and disobedient
- 10:48to their parents, when he said that the apostate church would
- 10:52come in. There's so many of the
- 10:54prophecies that are coming to fruition today and we can look
- 10:58around, we can see it, but we refuse it because much like the
- 11:02Jews at this time, we just want to hold on to our nice little
- 11:06cushy life. We like our gated communities,
- 11:08we like our vacations. We like all of the autonomy that
- 11:12we have. And we're not too excited about
- 11:15heaven. And that's where we air friends.
- 11:17Because if you understood the heart of God, if you understood
- 11:21the depths of his love for this world, we would sell everything
- 11:25and go out and tell people all about Jesus, knowing that the
- 11:30time is short and that the birth pains are happening and the
- 11:33contractions are getting closer and closer together.
- 11:36And we would not try to buy time.
- 11:39We would look up and see that our redemption is drawing near,
- 11:43that the leaves are on the fig tree.
- 11:45We would know that Jesus's return is imminent.
- 11:49And no scholar today could debate that we're closer today
- 11:53than we were yesterday. Let's get excited about heaven
- 11:57and let's get excited about the presence of Jesus.
- 12:00Friends, let's not try to hold on to this world.
- 12:03Do not love this world or anything in this world. 17 The
- 12:13people, therefore, that was with him when he called Lazarus out
- 12:17of the grave and raised him from the dead bore record.
- 12:21So eyewitness accounts and we can know that this word of God
- 12:26is trustworthy and true and that it is reliable and that it has
- 12:30all been fact checked. We can know that it bears record
- 12:34that Scripture is inspired, it's infallible and inerrant. 18 For
- 12:40this cause the people also met him, for they for that they
- 12:45heard that he had done this miracle talking about the
- 12:49raising of Lazarus from the dead.
- 12:51And it's no wonder they wanted to put Lazarus to death as well
- 12:54and Jesus, because he was winning the whole world over to
- 12:58himself. 19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves,
- 13:03perceive you how you prevail nothing.
- 13:06Behold, the world is gone after him.
- 13:09So it looked as if everybody was making a decision for Christ,
- 13:13and they were worried that they were going to lose all of their
- 13:19rights, they were going to lose their land, they were going to
- 13:21lose their heritage. And they thought that if you
- 13:24were connected to Abraham, you were immediately going to go
- 13:27into heaven. And they missed it all.
- 13:31And Jesus came to correct their theology. 20 And there were
- 13:36certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast.
- 13:4121 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida
- 13:46of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
- 13:5122 Philip came and told Andrew, and again Andrew and Philip told
- 13:56Jesus. So here you can see this
- 13:58telephone gang of these Greeks coming and they want to see
- 14:02Jesus. And it's much like the Magi that
- 14:05came from the east. You can see that the Greeks are
- 14:08coming from the West and you can see that the gospels for the
- 14:11whole world and how the Magi came at his birth and now these
- 14:15Gentiles are coming at his death.
- 14:18And you can see the plan of God. It's for all people, friends,
- 14:22all nations and all people groups.
- 14:24This is a world Without Borders. And I pray that you can see that
- 14:30Jesus is the king. He's the King of kings, and he
- 14:33is the one that we give all authority to.
- 14:36We all obey the law of the land until the law of the land goes
- 14:41against the word of God, and then we become rebels. 23 And
- 14:46Jesus answered them, saying, The hour has come that the Son of
- 14:50Man should be glorified. 24 Truly, truly, I say unto you,
- 14:57accept a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die.
- 15:00It abides alone, and if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.
- 15:05So here we can see that these Greeks wanted to see Jesus, and
- 15:10then they, Andrew and Philip, go and tell Jesus.
- 15:13And then look how immediately Jesus starts speaking.
- 15:17Perhaps he's speaking to the Greeks.
- 15:19Perhaps he's speaking to you and to me and to the whole world,
- 15:24and he's saying that he has to be pushed down into the ground
- 15:29and die and he has to suffer first before he can go and
- 15:34exponentially change the whole world.
- 15:37He flipped the whole world over friends with a band of unlearned
- 15:42men 25 He that loves his life shall lose it, and he that hates
- 15:49his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
- 15:53So he's saying, by comparison, your life should look like you
- 15:58hate the world. If you love Jesus Christ, you're
- 16:02going to stiff arm all of the ways that the world tells you
- 16:05that you need to operate. There are lots of worldly wise
- 16:10men out there who would counsel you to look and mirror your life
- 16:15just like the world. But I want you to know by and
- 16:18large that is the entryway into the apostate church is whenever
- 16:23we are so saturated by the world.
- 16:26Jesus says, and foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the
- 16:31Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.
- 16:33And as we are sanctified, we should look more and more like
- 16:37Jesus Christ until we are following after Him in all of
- 16:42His ways, even as we take up the cross daily and follow Him as we
- 16:47go and make disciples of all nations.
- 16:51Friends, we should mirror and model our lives after our Lord.
- 16:55Let go of this world. 26 If any man serve me, let him follow me.
- 17:00And where I am, there also shall my servant be.
- 17:04If any man serve me, him will my Father honor.
- 17:08So he's showing us how we can be honored by God Almighty.
- 17:12It's by serving Jesus Christ. It is by actually obeying the
- 17:18words that He tells us, and we do not obey to show our love for
- 17:23Him. Our obedience is birthed from
- 17:27the love that we possess for our Savior, and we see that He is
- 17:31worthy and that He did not deserve to die the criminal
- 17:35death, that He lived a perfect life, that He was sinless and
- 17:39blameless, and He chose to go to the cross so we can easily
- 17:44follow Him, knowing that He loved us all the way till the
- 17:48end. 27 Now is my soul troubled? And what shall I say?
- 17:55Father, save me from this hour, but for this, 'cause I came unto
- 18:01this hour. So you can see that Jesus was
- 18:04all man, and He was all God. And you can see He was troubled
- 18:09at all the events that were about to happen.
- 18:11And He knew that the communion that He shared from Eternal was
- 18:15about to be broken. And that is what grieved him.
- 18:20That is what he was asking the Father to find another way is
- 18:25because he did not want the communion that he had with
- 18:30Father God to be broken. How sweet it is to be known by
- 18:35him. 28 Father, glorify your name.
- 18:40And then came there a voice from heaven saying, I have both
- 18:43glorified it and will glorify it again.
- 18:48So here Jesus knows that he must be glorified.
- 18:52He knows that he must go to the cross and die and be buried and
- 18:58be put in the tomb and be resurrected on the third day and
- 19:02appear to many, and then to ascend to the right hand of God.
- 19:06He knows that these things must happen.
- 19:08And he's saying to Father God, he's saying be glorified and all
- 19:14the things that I'm about to do. And then God says audibly from
- 19:19heaven, I am glorified in what you're doing.
- 19:24Let's see how the people around heard it. 20 The people
- 19:27therefore that stood by and heard it said that it thundered.
- 19:31Others said an Angel spoke to him so much like Paul when he's
- 19:35on the road to Damascus. They missed the mark.
- 19:39They were not in tune with it and they were just thinking that
- 19:43some natural occurrence had happened.
- 19:45And we do the same today. There are miracles after
- 19:49miracles after miracles that are happening all around us.
- 19:53And we just relegate it to the medical profession.
- 19:56We just relegate it to happenstance.
- 20:00We just relegate it to a coincidence.
- 20:04And it is miraculous, friends. And there are many miracles
- 20:08happening around us. And the people here missed that.
- 20:12God had spoke directly and audibly.
- 20:14But for those that were in tune, they could hear it.
- 20:17And I pray that that's your story today.
- 20:20I pray that you're in tune with the Holy Ghost and that as He's
- 20:23speaking to you. You can discern. 30 Jesus
- 20:30answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for
- 20:34your sake. So he's showing us that he is in
- 20:36tune with the Father, and he does nothing outside of the will
- 20:40of the Father. But for our edification, God
- 20:43spoke to us. Think about it, friends.
- 20:47He gave us his spoken word that you hold in your hand.
- 20:50We cannot just let it collect dust on a shelf. 31 Now is the
- 20:56judgement of this world. Now shall the Prince of this
- 21:00world be cast out? He's talking about Satan.
- 21:03He's talking about how Satan has no hold on him and how when he
- 21:08goes to the cross, he's going to snatch the keys to death in
- 21:14Hades and he is going to have the full authority to give us
- 21:19resurrection power so that we will not taste in the second
- 21:24death. He's saying that the Prince of
- 21:27this world will be cast out. Satan was cast down to the earth
- 21:34because of the great rebellion in heaven whenever he wanted to
- 21:37be like God. Go and read Isaiah 14 in Ezekiel
- 21:4228. It's going to tell you all about
- 21:44those stories of how Satan was cast out and he was put here and
- 21:49why was he in the garden in the 1st place?
- 21:52Why was the serpent there? Why was the tree of the
- 21:56knowledge of good and evil there, friends?
- 21:58And you must ask yourself these questions because it's going to
- 22:02lead you into the reality that God allows all of the things
- 22:08that are happening and it's for His glory.
- 22:12And it is for our sanctification and it is to reveal the inner
- 22:19motives of man. And it's all part of the master
- 22:23plan of God Almighty. There is no cat and mouse game
- 22:27between the two. God is omnipotent.
- 22:30He is all powerful, He is sovereign friends, and there is
- 22:34no competition between Him and the devil and Jesus knows it and
- 22:41he's going to cast him out. 32 And if I if I be lifted up from
- 22:52the earth, and I will draw all men unto myself.
- 22:57So he's saying, just like the pole that was lifted up in the
- 23:01wilderness that had the snake on it, and people must look upon it
- 23:06to be saved, Jesus must be lifted up so that we can be
- 23:10healed and made whole friends, and look upon him today and be
- 23:14saved. He must be lifted up to draw all
- 23:17men unto himself. 33 This he said, signifying what death he
- 23:22should die. So they were able to see that he
- 23:28was going to go to the cross. 34 The people answered him.
- 23:32We have heard out of the law that Christ abides forever.
- 23:36And how do you say the Son of man must be lifted up?
- 23:39Who is this Son of man? So here you can see they are not
- 23:45in tune. They thought that he was coming
- 23:48in the second advent style with the sharp 2 edged sword from his
- 23:53mouth. They thought that he was coming
- 23:56to annihilate all of their foes and that is the savior that they
- 24:01desired. They did not desire a savior
- 24:04that would be humiliated and mocked.
- 24:07They did not desire a savior that would be killed and
- 24:11crucified, which was the most embarrassing low way of being
- 24:18murdered was a crucifixion. And here Jesus goes through this
- 24:24excruciating pain for you and for me, and these things must
- 24:30happen. And it pleased God to crush him.
- 24:32And then they say, who is this Son of man?
- 24:36Jesus used this messianic title of Himself and it was shrouded
- 24:41in mystery for those who refuse to come to Him honestly.
- 24:47They would have missed it just like these people were asking.
- 24:52They wanted Him to make it plain and just say I am Christ.
- 24:57They wanted Him to make it plain and say I am your Messiah.
- 25:02But because He used the Son of Man, it was hidden from those
- 25:06who would not come to Him honestly. 35 Then Jesus said
- 25:13unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you.
- 25:17Walk while you have the light, and less darkness come upon you.
- 25:21For he that walks in darkness knows not where he goes.
- 25:25So he's telling them that the night is coming, that Jesus
- 25:29won't be in this earthly bodily form on earth forever, that they
- 25:34must come to him while they can. And it's the same for you and
- 25:39for me today. And the caveat is once he comes
- 25:44back and raptures the church, friends, that's going to usher
- 25:48in a seven-year period that's going to be hell on earth unlike
- 25:53anything that this world has ever experienced.
- 25:56And it's far better for us to put our faith and trust in him
- 26:00now. And if you were to take your
- 26:02last breath, friends, then you would have no more chances to
- 26:08put your faith in Him. And so he's telling us now,
- 26:12while we still have life, while the light of the world is here,
- 26:16while the Holy Spirit and the ministry of the Holy Spirit is
- 26:19indwelling us and is in the world.
- 26:22Put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ now.
- 26:25Don't wait, friends. If you try to wait until you're
- 26:30older and then you die younger than you expected, there is no
- 26:34more salvation for those who refuse the Lord Jesus Christ
- 26:42here on this earth now. Once you die, that's it.
- 26:46There is no more chance after you die.
- 26:49So we must get it right while we still have breath in our lungs.
- 26:53Friends. 36 while you have light, believe in the light,
- 27:00that you may be the children of light.
- 27:03These things spoke Jesus and departed and did hide himself
- 27:08from them. So you can see here that Jesus
- 27:12is making this public proclamation unto all of the
- 27:17land, and He's telling them that they have the opportunity and
- 27:22they must take it and they must take His words seriously.
- 27:26They cannot just discount them and go and try to scrutinize
- 27:31them to the point where they are in error.
- 27:36And they do not believe Him, because He is speaking plainly
- 27:42to them, and they refuse Him because they delighted
- 27:46themselves in evil. 37 But though he had done so many
- 27:51miracles before them, yet they believed not on him. 38 that the
- 27:55saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he
- 27:59spoke. Lord, who has believed our
- 28:02report, And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
- 28:0739 Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah
- 28:11said again. 40 He has blinded their eyes and hardened their
- 28:16hearts, that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand
- 28:20with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal
- 28:24them. So what a wonderful thought
- 28:28here, that God in a moment's notice, in a twinkling of an
- 28:34eye, and instantaneously could rend the heavens and RIP them
- 28:40back and reveal his face to the whole world, and there would not
- 28:46be one who wouldn't give their life to him and be sorrowful and
- 28:52regretful. And he says there's coming a
- 28:55time where people will try to hide themselves under the rocks
- 29:00because they do not want Him peeking and peering upon them.
- 29:04And so here he's showing that he has designed this world to be
- 29:13blinded for those from those who will not inherit eternal life,
- 29:19but for those of us who are predestined and chosen before
- 29:23the foundations of the earth and who come to Him honestly and who
- 29:28desire to know Him in all of his suffering.
- 29:31Christ and Christ crucified. God is pleased to reveal it to
- 29:35us. And aren't you thankful when the
- 29:37blindfold comes off? Aren't you thankful when your
- 29:41ears become unstopped and you can finally see into the
- 29:45spiritual realm? You can finally see that Jesus
- 29:49Christ is the long-awaited Messiah and he's hidden and
- 29:52shrouded from those who delight themselves in evil and refuse to
- 29:57love the truth. And they are delusional.
- 29:59And that is what Isaiah is referencing here.
- 30:02They are blinded by their own sin. 41 These things said
- 30:12Isaiah, when he saw his glory and spoke of him.
- 30:16So we know that Isaiah saw the train of his robe filling the
- 30:20temple, and the seraphim crying out holy, holy, holy.
- 30:24And we know that their wings covered their eyes, because he
- 30:27was so holy. And Isaiah got to see it.
- 30:30And he says, I am a man of unclean lips, and they touched
- 30:34his tongue with the coal. Praise the Lord. 42
- 30:42Nevertheless, among the chief rulers also many believed on
- 30:45him, but because of the Pharisees, they did not confess
- 30:48him unless they should be put out of the synagogue. 43 For
- 30:52they love the praise of men more than they love the praise of
- 30:55God. This is that fear of man that is
- 30:58crept in And we care more about what people are going to say
- 31:02about us and we try to protect our reputation.
- 31:06And far be it from us to be more worldly centered than we are
- 31:11godly minded. We must please God more than we
- 31:18try to please man. Let the fear of man go. 44 Jesus
- 31:25cried and said, he that believes on me believes not on me, but on
- 31:30him that sent me. 45 And he that sees me sees him that sent me.
- 31:3746 I am come a light into the world that whosoever believes on
- 31:42me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if any man hears my words
- 31:50and believes not, I judge him not, for I am come not to judge
- 31:55the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejects me and
- 32:01receives not my words has one that judges him, the word that I
- 32:07have spoken. The same shall judge him in the
- 32:11last day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself, but the Father
- 32:16which sent me. He gave me a commandment, what I
- 32:21should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his
- 32:26commandment is life everlasting, whatsoever I speak.
- 32:32Therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
- 32:37This is Jesus's last public proclamation.
- 32:41From here forth, He's going to be speaking to the religious
- 32:44leaders, and he's going to be speaking to his disciples
- 32:47privately. And so we need to know that
- 32:50these words have paramount importance, that we must believe
- 32:56on the Lord Jesus Christ to receive our salvation, that He
- 33:00did not come on His own accord, that He only speaks for Yahweh,
- 33:07the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the only one true, living
- 33:11God. He is speaking for our only way
- 33:17to the Father is through Jesus. He is speaking for all of
- 33:21mankind, for all of eternity. He's speaking the most important
- 33:29thing that we need to know, so we must listen and listen up and
- 33:36don't try to discount and discredit these words.
- 33:41Jesus knew that he was from the Father and He was fulfilling the
- 33:45Father's purpose for his life and that he was soon to be
- 33:49glorified. Hope you've been blessed by this
- 33:52chapter here. I know I sure have.
- 33:53I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 33:58I love you, so does God. We'll see you back here
- 34:02tomorrow. God bless you.
