- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Let's go to Vegas, baby.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Let's go tonight.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Let's go to Vegas.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Let's stay all night.
- 0:59Dayna Roselli: Welcome to episode 93 of Vegas Revealed.
- 1:03Dayna Roselli: I'm Dana Roselli, along with Sean McAllister here in Las Vegas, ready to get you up to date on everything that's going on.
- 1:11Dayna Roselli: Sean, you and I have been kind of around town a lot this week, and I love all the feedback we're getting.
- 1:15Dayna Roselli: We're getting a lot of listeners stopping us and saying, hey, we like what you do, so thank you.
- 1:19Dayna Roselli: And remember, you can always contact us on social media and let us know if you want us to cover a certain topic.
- 1:25Sean McAllister: Yeah, there's been feedback in person.
- 1:27Sean McAllister: There's been feedback in emails that we've received, messages on our social media.
- 1:32Sean McAllister: So please always reach out.
- 1:34Sean McAllister: We love to hear from you.
- 1:36Sean McAllister: Um, we did go to Sting this week.
- 1:39Sean McAllister: It was his big residency debut over at Caesar's Palace.
- 1:44Sean McAllister: We're gonna have all of that, and you're gonna hear from the rock star himself.
- 1:47Sean McAllister: But first, there is some some major news from the Las Vegas strip.
- 1:52Sean McAllister: One of the major resorts is about to change hands.
- 1:55Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 1:55Dayna Roselli: MGM announced the sale of the Mirage.
- 1:58Dayna Roselli: Now, we told you recently that they also were taking on the Cosmopolitan.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: So kind of interesting.
- 2:04Dayna Roselli: They're taking on the Cosmopolitan, but then they're gonna release the Mirage.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: But the Mirage, very iconic.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, it was, you know, built back in the day, and it was one of the first big mega resorts, right?
- 2:15Dayna Roselli: Put together by Steve Wynne, who then opened the Bellagio, who then opened the Wynn Las Vegas.
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: Um, and then MGM took a hold of the Bellagio and the Mirage.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: But really, the Mirage was like that first big, you know, they had the volcano and Siegfried and Roy and the Secret Garden.
- 2:32Dayna Roselli: So it's interesting to see that changing hands, but it's gonna be operations that will be handed over.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: I guess MGM will still own the building.
- 2:41Sean McAllister: Yeah, there's been no buyer or operator announced just yet.
- 2:46Sean McAllister: This was all just uh coming out.
- 2:48Sean McAllister: Uh as we're sitting down to record, the head of MGM Resorts International, Bill Hornbuckle, made this announcement on a phone call with investors.
- 2:57Sean McAllister: Um, as I said, there's no uh new operator that's been announced just yet.
- 3:02Sean McAllister: So for the time being, it's gonna be business as usual over at the Mirage.
- 3:07Sean McAllister: Um, but whoever ends up operating that strip resort is going to be leasing the property from MGM resorts.
- 3:16Sean McAllister: So this is clearly a big business decision for MGM as they do take over uh, as you mentioned, Dana, operations over at the Cosmopolitan a little further south on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: It's interesting because a lot of people have talked about the Mirage possibly being sold for years because how do I say this?
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: They haven't really done many updates.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: You know, they just it's like it was like it was in this waiting pattern.
- 3:41Dayna Roselli: So many of the hotel casinos were getting updates, whether it was the rooms or, you know, something in the lobby or, you know, a certain wing of the hotel.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: And I felt like the mirage just kind of stood still.
- 3:54Sean McAllister: Yeah, I have noticed that the carpet in the casino has changed.
- 3:58Sean McAllister: Oh, did it?
- 3:59Sean McAllister: I did it did.
- 4:00Sean McAllister: I did notice that when I was over there recently.
- 4:03Sean McAllister: Um but yeah, as far as like a property-wide overhaul, um, there have been restaurants that have come and gone and new little venues inside, but uh there has not been a major property overhaul.
- 4:18Sean McAllister: So, you know, this gives the the new operator the opportunity to do that and put their own imprint on what people come to expect from the mirage.
- 4:27Sean McAllister: Just do not take away the volcano.
- 4:29Sean McAllister: I love the volcano.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: It is great.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: You're right with that.
- 4:33Dayna Roselli: And you know, Bill Hornbuckle uh did put out a letter to all the employees of the Mirage saying, you know, just like you mentioned, business as usual, um, they'll keep everyone updated.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: Hopefully I assume they need people to work there, so hopefully a lot of those people keep their jobs and don't need to look for a new one.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: But if it's something changing hands and maybe you don't want to be a part of it, it could be a good time to browse around for a for a new job.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: There's a lot of them on the strip right now.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: Well, let's switch to Sting.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: He's all the buzz.
- 5:00Sean McAllister: He is all the buzz, especially if you're keeping your eye on our Vegas revealed TikTok page.
- 5:06Sean McAllister: Sting and his biceps have been quite the topic of conversation, Dana.
- 5:13Dayna Roselli: Totally.
- 5:13Dayna Roselli: I mean, we kind of knew what we were doing when we put it up there, I'll admit, but you know, TikTok world, you bought it.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: Here's the deal.
- 5:21Dayna Roselli: We've got more than a million views on this, and the comments are endless.
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: We put up Sting.
- 5:27Dayna Roselli: Oh gosh, 21,000 likes and almost a thousand comments.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: Uh but listen, we put a clip up of Sting.
- 5:33Dayna Roselli: This is the reason.
- 5:34Dayna Roselli: Played an incredible show all I don't even, it was close to two hours.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: He sat down at the end for one final song.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: He took off his blazer and he said that counted as his costume change.
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: Everyone was laughing.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: But then we all noticed, we're like, this guy is incredibly handsome, he's super talented still, took off his jacket, and we were like, look at those arms and how fit he is, his chest, a whole nine.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: I mean, you can't help but not notice he's he's 70 people.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: He looked incredible.
- 6:03Dayna Roselli: So we put that little moment on our TikTok and they are eating it up.
- 6:07Sean McAllister: I think TikTok is eating up that video as much as we were eating up the show in person.
- 6:13Sean McAllister: Let me tell you, Sting put on one hell of a kick-ass show.
- 6:20Sean McAllister: From the lighting and the graphics to his voice and the classic songs and mixing in some of his new music, which was actually really good.
- 6:31Sean McAllister: I know that some artists get some catch some flack when they try to not stick to their classic, proven, tried and true songs, and they try and interject some of the new music.
- 6:45Sean McAllister: This uh new music, he played two new songs, and it is classic sting from top to bottom.
- 6:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was good, and he did point that out too.
- 6:53Dayna Roselli: He said, Listen, I'm gonna play two new songs because I want to know what you think.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: So he did it, and you know, and he has got an album coming out on November 19th, so right around the corner.
- 7:01Dayna Roselli: Um, but I liked them too.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: I thought they stayed like very they stayed in the same lane, you know?
- 7:05Dayna Roselli: It was you sting.
- 7:07Dayna Roselli: It wasn't anything like, ooh, that's a little different.
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: I mean, I feel like they're gonna be popular songs and the album will probably take off as usual.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: He did do all the classics, Roxanne, you name it, and it was great.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: I didn't realize how many sting songs and police songs that I actually knew.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: I knew them all, obviously, but what a great show.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: I think we all enjoyed it.
- 7:27Dayna Roselli: I don't want to say we were surprised, but I think we were like really impressed, let's put it that way.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: And like we always talk about it was very Vegas-y.
- 7:37Dayna Roselli: As soon as he kicked it off, this big sign said Las Vegas 2021, and you know, he was excited to be here.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: He talked to the audience, and his wife was in, you know, a sequence dancing in the in the aisle.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 7:51Sean McAllister: Well, and I'll I'll tell you what, this is I put I put this out on Twitter right after the the show.
- 7:58Sean McAllister: Not all Las Vegas residency shows make me want to download the artist's songs or their album.
- 8:06Sean McAllister: However, Sting made me do that.
- 8:08Sean McAllister: I have Sting music on my phone now because of this show over at Caesar's Coliseum.
- 8:14Dayna Roselli: And it's interesting you say that because when we went to Gwen Stefani and she sang that song with Blake Shelton, I wasn't very familiar with it, but I left and I was like, I kind of like the bridge here.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: It's kind of a little, it's a good driving song, and I downloaded that.
- 8:27Dayna Roselli: So, and I was thinking of you and I did, because you always say, if you download music after you leave the show, it means you were impressed.
- 8:33Dayna Roselli: It really you you know, and and I have that song now in on my phone as well.
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: But yeah, Sting was great, and he was funny with his yellow suit.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: He said, Is my suit too yellow?
- 8:42Dayna Roselli: So he just had such a great sense of humor.
- 8:44Dayna Roselli: He's playing the Coliseum uh through mid-November, and then he's gonna be back again for another slew of shows.
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: But this show, this residency, was supposed to kick off right before or during, I should say, the pandemic.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: And so we had to be patient, the audience had to be patient.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: Uh they held on to those tickets, and I don't take that for granted.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: I'm very, very appreciative of that.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: So last night, the first night, I we had to make good.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: And so that responsibility was was weighed heavily on me.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: Uh no one asked for their money back last night, so I'm I'm thrilled.
- 9:18Sean McAllister: And so, as excited as we were to be there, I think Sting was even more excited to be up on the stage in front of the audience.
- 9:26Sean McAllister: Hear what he had to say about that.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, the legacy is important, you know.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: Uh Sinatra played Caesar's Palace, Samby Davis Jr., Dean Martin.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: So you're you become part of that legacy, and that's something I think of as a landmark.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: So to have my own residency, have my own room, to be able to create uh a different world for each song, a different context, visual context, is a great opportunity, and it's so exciting to do that.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: I love to turn around and see what's going on behind me because the visuals are state-of-the-art fantastic.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: So I'm thrilled.
- 10:03Sean McAllister: So clearly, Sting was happy to be back up on stage performing, doing what he's done for decades.
- 10:10Sean McAllister: But what was really cool, I thought, Dana, were all of the production elements that went into this show.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: It's true.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: Like I kept wanting to whip out my phone to get video of it.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: I wanted to enjoy it, but I was like, I don't, I I don't didn't know what to do because I was so impressed.
- 10:24Dayna Roselli: So it was definitely it was the wow factor, that is for sure.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: So uh Sting talks about everything that the show includes.
- 10:31Dayna Roselli: And I want to mention, too, this interview was done the day after the show.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: So when you hear him refer to last night, and I say after the show, sorry, after the first show, it was the opening night.
- 10:41Dayna Roselli: So when you hear him refer a lot to last night, last night, it was the day after his opening show.
- 10:47Dayna Roselli: But he talks all about, you know, what he put into this show and what he hopes people will enjoy and take from it.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Something different.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: You know, I I always have good lights, I always have good sound, but this is a an added dimension to my my creative life that I haven't had before.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: And so I'm grateful for Caesars Palace for giving me that opportunity.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: People like to hear hits, as I said last night.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: They like to hear songs that they know, but I also demand that they also listen to something new.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: So I chose two new songs from the album, which is about to come out just to test the water, and uh they went they went very well, and as the as the residency progresses into next year, I will bring more and more of these new new songs in.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: But they're surrounded by old friends, old war horses.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: I felt ecstatic that I was back in what I consider to be my living room.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: My living room is being surrounded by my musicians, the sound, the lights, the audience.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: It's nothing better.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: They should see the show because they'll see a man very, very happy in his work.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: And I will transmit that off the stage and hopefully make you feel happy too.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: Again, great show if you get the chance.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: He sings all the songs that you'll probably love.
- 12:00Dayna Roselli: Roxanne, Message in a Bottle, every little thing she does is magic.
- 12:04Dayna Roselli: I sang that right in the wrong note, I said that in the wrong note, Sean.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: Should be what?
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Every little thing she does is magic.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: Alright, tried to get Sean to sing, but I don't know.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: He's having a bloody merry right now as we record.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: I wasn't quite sure what you were wanting me to do.
- 12:23Sean McAllister: I didn't know if it was just the ooh, or if you wanted like the whole next verse.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: Well, he also sings Every Breath You Take and several other fan favorites throughout the show.
- 12:36Dayna Roselli: The bridge, his album, as I said, is coming out November 19th, and the shows that he's doing at the Coliseum go to November 13th, and then we'll resume again in June of 2022.
- 12:47Sean McAllister: All right, so another guy who uh has a ton of hits.
- 12:51unknown: Hello.
- 12:53Sean McAllister: Is it me you're looking for?
- 12:55Sean McAllister: Lionel Richie, of course.
- 12:58Sean McAllister: He is uh doing a 12-show engagement over at the Encore Theater inside the Win and Encore Resorts.
- 13:05Sean McAllister: Uh this was just announced that he has dates now extending through 2022.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: And he'll have shows in January, February, March, and April.
- 13:15Dayna Roselli: So a lot of different variety there for you if you're coming to Las Vegas to be able to see Lionel Richie.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: And I have a feeling a lot of people are gonna be coming to Las Vegas because you know, UK travel opens up on November 8th.
- 13:27Dayna Roselli: They'll be able to come into the United States and Las Vegas, and I keep seeing all over everyone planning trips.
- 13:34Dayna Roselli: And I know I saw someone say they were gonna go see Lionel Richie and and a whole bunch of other shows that they had planned, so it'll be busy.
- 13:42Sean McAllister: You have a feeling people are coming to Vegas?
- 13:44Sean McAllister: I have a feeling people will be dancing on the ceiling.
- 13:48Dayna Roselli: Good one.
- 13:49Dayna Roselli: Why don't we have our own comedy show?
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, you guys, this just proves that this show is very raw and organic.
- 13:57Dayna Roselli: We have a timeline that we know things we want to hit, but a lot of times we just go with the flow.
- 14:04Dayna Roselli: We can be silly here and there, but you know who else is silly?
- 14:07Dayna Roselli: Piff the magic dragon.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: We've had him on our show before.
- 14:10Sean McAllister: We have.
- 14:10Sean McAllister: Piff is a great guy.
- 14:11Sean McAllister: He's been gosh performing here in Las Vegas now for at least five years, I'd say.
- 14:18Sean McAllister: Uh, over at the Flamingo, Piff's show uh has just been extended for three years.
- 14:26Sean McAllister: And for an entertainer, a Las Vegas entertainer to have their contract extended at a property for three years for a multi-year engagement, is a really big deal.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 14:40Dayna Roselli: I mean, it shows the show's successful and the commitment from the property and the you know, Caesar's entertainment.
- 14:46Dayna Roselli: So congratulations to Piff.
- 14:47Dayna Roselli: It's always nice to know that you know, when you hear something like that, like someone who's comfortable.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: I remember Piff telling us how much he loved living in Las Vegas.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: So it's always nice to know that someone is gonna be able to get in their car, drive to work, and drive home and be happy.
- 15:01Dayna Roselli: We love headliners that love living here.
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: So congratulations to Piff, who is also the product of America's Got Talent.
- 15:08Sean McAllister: Which is the competition reality series on NBC that uh features a wide array of talent from singers to acrobats to daredevils to dance groups, and America's Got Talent is now setting up shop permanently right here on the Las Vegas Strip over at the Luxor.
- 15:29Dayna Roselli: We had a chance to get over to the Luxor for a preview performance.
- 15:33Dayna Roselli: It was the day before the show actually opened, and they wanted to show us some of the highlights.
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: It was really cool.
- 15:39Dayna Roselli: Again, it's America's Got Talent, Las Vegas Live.
- 15:42Dayna Roselli: We chatted with Brian Burke, who's the director of the show, and boy, he seemed excited about it.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: This is a dream come true for Simon.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: It's a dream come true for everyone that's in the show and a part of the show.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Because, you know, the context of the live show is the winner gets a headline show in Vegas.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: But now with this show, we get to bring the best acts from all over the world, and instead of it being one, it's so many.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: And the cool part is that, you know, throughout the years, acts will change in and out, so the show will always be fresh.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: You know, the current winner is in, a lot of the winners, a lot of the golden buzzers.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: So it really is the best and world-class entertainment of all kinds of acts from all over the world.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: So we're really, really excited.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: And do you feel like there's been a demand for something like this?
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: Have you had a lot of inquiries of people like, we need you to do a show in Vegas?
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, people have been asking for a really long time, where can we go and see it?
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: Because, you know, people just watch on TV and we only have a very small invited audience, you know, when we're live at the Dolby Theater.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: So I the the reaction during the previews has been incredible seeing people come from all over and get to see people, you know, live in a theater.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: People are just beyond excited, the fans and just ticket buyers.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: So it's it there's definitely a major, major appetite out there for it.
- 16:58Sean McAllister: And what kind of opportunities does it open up for you in putting a show like this together when you're sitting down in one place rather than going on tour like is traditionally done after each season?
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think everybody can have their families here.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: I mean, the the really nice thing is that everybody works very individually.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: You know, the acts from the show, they all have success from being on the show, and the winners.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: The really nice thing is that everyone is part of a, you know, an AGT family, but they're no longer competing against each other.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: They're part of a show that is together, and the camaraderie is amazing.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: So I think the audience really feels that, and people get to settle down and have their lives here, of course, in Vegas, which everybody loves, and get to perform for audiences every night.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: So they get to be home and be in the entertainment capital of the world, which there's no better place to be, right?
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Performing.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: So listen, we moved here 16 years ago and we're still here.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: So 20 years ago.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:57Dayna Roselli: So the show will have a host, you said, right?
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the show has a host, uh, Preacher Lawson, who was on a few seasons ago.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: So it's not exactly in a context of the way that the TV show is, because obviously there's, you know, eliminations and it's a contest.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: So this is more like a host who's a through line introducing acts, providing that comic relief, interacting with the contestants, you know, now that they're like full-scale, you know, performers.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: So there is a small through line, but the the main through line that we wanted to have in the show was, you know, we wanted to have something that was hopeful, something that was optimistic.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: And so it's really about sharing everybody's stories.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: Everybody comes from all over the world.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: They took a risk to come on AGT, and because of AGT, they get to live their dreams by being in a show every night and being together.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: So it was Simon's dream combined with everybody's dream.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: So we're hopefully everybody leaves feeling warm and fuzzy and optimistic to go and live their dreams and be hopeful for the future.
- 18:58Sean McAllister: And obviously, people watch AGT for the incredible talent, but the judges are also an attraction.
- 19:05Sean McAllister: Will we see them popping up throughout the run here in Vegas?
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: Not to be confirmed.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Not still to be confirmed if we will see some judges popping up or not.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: We'll have to wait to see if that's a surprise.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: But definitely, definitely some surprises in the middle there of who you'll see.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: Well, it's Vegas.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: You never know what you're gonna get, right?
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: Listen, Brian, thank you so much for joining us.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: Congratulations.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: Pleasure.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: Thank you for coming.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: I hope you enjoyed the show.
- 19:30Sean McAllister: And Dana Brian also told us that Simon Cowell has been like it was his dream years ago to turn the TV show America's Got Talent into a Las Vegas production that that's here permanently.
- 19:45Sean McAllister: And that dream has now been realized.
- 19:48Sean McAllister: And while we were over there for those preview performances, we also spoke with Dan Birnbach from MGM Resorts International, and he was really proud of the production that has been put together.
- 20:00Sean McAllister: And he thinks that when people walk away from seeing one of these shows, they're just going to be in awe.
- 20:07SPEAKER_04: We've been working on this show for over two years.
- 20:09SPEAKER_04: So to be finally here on opening night to have our guests here to be able to enjoy it, it's absolutely incredible.
- 20:14SPEAKER_04: It's it's a great fit for all of Las Vegas.
- 20:16SPEAKER_04: This is really a show that has that has what we say is all the feels.
- 20:19SPEAKER_04: People are gonna cry, they're gonna laugh, they're gonna be amazed, they're gonna be stunned.
- 20:22SPEAKER_04: There's so many incredible acts in here that just make it something that's perfect for Vegas.
- 20:26SPEAKER_04: And we have danger, we have comedy, we have music, we have um magicians and mentalists.
- 20:31SPEAKER_04: There really is something for absolutely everyone in the show.
- 20:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean that you point out something really good.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: When people go to a show, they want to feel a little bit of everything, and I never thought about that.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: That's a great point.
- 20:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, you literally, there are moments here where people be crying, there are moments where people are laughing, you really get every single emotion of the show, which is uh pretty rare, and I think it's that's why it's been perfect perfect for the Vegas audience.
- 20:49Sean McAllister: And we've obviously had a lot of America's Got Talent winners become standalone headliners here in Las Vegas.
- 20:56Sean McAllister: Do you see this show as kind of a trial run for potential standout performers?
- 21:01SPEAKER_04: Sean, you're reading my mind.
- 21:02SPEAKER_04: This is exactly what we're trying to do.
- 21:04SPEAKER_04: So we see we do this as a pipeline, right?
- 21:06SPEAKER_04: There's an opportunity for the best of the best of America's Got Talent and all the got talent brands to come here to Las Vegas and perform here.
- 21:12SPEAKER_04: And um, you know, we haven't done it yet.
- 21:14SPEAKER_04: It's the first year, but we're hopeful that there's some accent here that maybe we can do a full residency show with just like so many have come before them.
- 21:19Dayna Roselli: And we do have a lot of uh listeners that come sometimes alone, sometimes single, couples, but also with families.
- 21:25Dayna Roselli: Is this a family show?
- 21:26SPEAKER_04: This is a show really for everyone.
- 21:27SPEAKER_04: That's one of the things that really surprised me.
- 21:29SPEAKER_04: We've done three preview performances so far, and the demographics have been with the entire gamut.
- 21:34SPEAKER_04: We have kids, uh parents here with young kids, we have uh older people that are here, that are here on vacation.
- 21:40SPEAKER_04: It really runs the entire gamut of uh demographics, ethnicities, everyone.
- 21:44SPEAKER_04: Really is a show for just about every single person.
- 21:46Dayna Roselli: Overall, MGM has been busy with all sorts of shows, too.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: I mean, you guys are things are back, things feel back when we go out.
- 21:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's definitely back.
- 21:54SPEAKER_04: I mean, entertainment is back, Vegas is back, and uh our shows are all selling really well, and we have one more show with Circus Silly.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Opening up Thanksgiving week, and that'll be the last one.
- 22:03SPEAKER_04: And so we're really excited to get that one open as well.
- 22:05Sean McAllister: I'm gonna put you on the spot here.
- 22:07Sean McAllister: Of all the acts that we're gonna see here initially at America's Got Talent, Las Vegas Live.
- 22:13Sean McAllister: Do you have a favorite?
- 22:15Sean McAllister: Yes, I do.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: And what a that was good! That was good.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: Yes, I do.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Listen, thank you so much for joining us and congratulations on the new show.
- 22:26SPEAKER_04: Thank you, Dada.
- 22:26SPEAKER_04: Thank you, Sean.
- 22:27SPEAKER_04: Great to see you both.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: It was great to catch up with Dan.
- 22:30Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: I was really impressed with the entrance.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: It's like a big red carpet that leads you to the entrance of the theater, which was really cool.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: And then right outside, just before you entered that room, there's a judging table where you can sit and take pictures.
- 22:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's almost like they've uh put together it really almost looked like a TV studio with the judges' table in there, you know, that has the X's on the front of the tables.
- 22:53Sean McAllister: So that's going to be a cool photo op if you go and see the show over at the Luxor.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: The show is Wednesday through Sundays at 7 p.m.
- 23:01Dayna Roselli: and 9 30 p.m.
- 23:03Dayna Roselli: It's inside the Luxor Theater.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: And again, it's America's Got Talent, Las Vegas Live.
- 23:07Dayna Roselli: So go check it out.
- 23:09Sean McAllister: And by the way, Dana, I did want to mention also that the cast is going to be a rotating cast.
- 23:14Sean McAllister: So if you go back and see the show a few different times, chances are you're going to see a bunch of different acts mixed in.
- 23:22Sean McAllister: All right, well, another show that has really gotten popular on TV is from Fox, and that is The Masked Singer.
- 23:31Sean McAllister: Our headliner, Donnie Osmond, was on there as the Peacock, I think he was, uh, when he was on the first season of the The Masked Singer.
- 23:42Sean McAllister: But now that's also coming to Vegas.
- 23:44Sean McAllister: My gosh, we're just the happening place to be, aren't we?
- 23:47Dayna Roselli: We are, and this one's actually downtown at the Smith Center.
- 23:51Dayna Roselli: So that's kind of cool.
- 23:52Dayna Roselli: The Masked Singer National Tour will stop here July 30th, so you need to plan and get your tickets.
- 23:59Dayna Roselli: There's gonna be audiences of all ages.
- 24:01Dayna Roselli: Welcome to this one and surprise celebrity guests, new performances.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: Tickets are on sale now, and again, that's at the Smith Center, which is in downtown Las Vegas.
- 24:11Sean McAllister: All right, and Dana, I know that you know the the countdown is on to Thanksgiving, and after Thanksgiving, the holidays are like right upon us, and I think I know what I'm gonna get you for Christmas this year, and that's tickets to go see Tournament of the Kings.
- 24:31Dayna Roselli: I had mentioned to you I never have been, and you couldn't believe it.
- 24:35Dayna Roselli: It's one of those shows I've just never gone to or had the chance to.
- 24:38Dayna Roselli: I know they've had a lot of different kinds of media nights through the years, and whenever I have friends in town that actually do go to it, I wasn't available or I was on that early morning shift.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: So I'm excited about this because you say it's great and it's super fun.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: And when I was reading about their Christmas show, their holiday show that they have coming up, I was laughing because it says that you know, you eat like you're in the medieval times with your hands, right?
- 25:05Sean McAllister: You do.
- 25:06Sean McAllister: You get a little Cornish game hen and you eat with your hands, you pick it all apart.
- 25:10Sean McAllister: It's uh you don't get utensils.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: You're sitting there eating with your hands.
- 25:15Sean McAllister: You have a this live show going on in in an arena setting.
- 25:20Sean McAllister: Um and I say arena like a hockey arena, so it's in the round.
- 25:24Sean McAllister: Um the the stands are angled up like stadium seating with a a shelf in front of you to eat on, and you're just rooting for your your king.
- 25:36Sean McAllister: Each designated section has a cast member that they they root for.
- 25:40Sean McAllister: And I mean they're riding around on live horses, they're doing live jousting, there's pyrotechnics, there's it's really a fun show.
- 25:51Sean McAllister: And you're shouting and you're eating and it's just great.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: I'm in, I'm in.
- 25:55Dayna Roselli: You sold me, you sold me.
- 25:57Dayna Roselli: I can't believe I've lived here this long and never gone.
- 25:59Dayna Roselli: So we will have to do that.
- 26:00Dayna Roselli: It definitely sounds like it's up my alley for, I don't know, just something different.
- 26:04Dayna Roselli: So Tournament of Kings, their holiday show starts when, Sean?
- 26:07Dayna Roselli: I believe it's November 24th, and it goes through December 27th.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: So it should be good.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: It's called TWAS the night.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: Get it?
- 26:16Dayna Roselli: Twas the night.
- 26:17Dayna Roselli: Not before Christmas, but night K-N-I-G-H-T.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, sounds like a great show.
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: And Sean and I'll be here one night.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: Maybe you'll see us.
- 26:26Sean McAllister: All right, let's get to our tips.
- 26:30Sean McAllister: And our first tip comes to you as the result of Dana and I being in downtown Las Vegas.
- 26:36Sean McAllister: As we mentioned last week, we were judging the Vegas Vicky costume contest.
- 26:41Sean McAllister: The grand prize winner got 10,000 bucks.
- 26:44Sean McAllister: This all happened over at Circa Las Vegas.
- 26:47Sean McAllister: Um, but as we were waiting for judging to start, we just walked up to the bar and, you know, ordered a cocktail as we were getting ready for all these cowgirls to parade in front of us.
- 26:59Sean McAllister: And we ordered three drinks at the bar because there were three of us.
- 27:04Sean McAllister: It wasn't because one of us was double fisting.
- 27:06Sean McAllister: And the bill came to 30 bucks.
- 27:09Sean McAllister: And we looked at each other, we were like, holy crap, is this right?
- 27:13Sean McAllister: Like, did they charge us for everything?
- 27:15Sean McAllister: Because we're so used to going out on the strip that we didn't realize, I guess, that downtown drink prices are a bit cheaper.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: Yes, and you know, someone that was judging along with us was Scott Rubin, he's aka Vital Vegas on Twitter, and uh he was there sipping on his drink, and I said, Boy, these drinks are cheap.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: And he said, You guys drink on the strip too much.
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: And I said, Maybe we do, but you know, he spends a lot of time downtown and he was saying, Yeah, this is normal.
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: And you know, Circa's one of the, you know, newer, well, the newest hotel to open on Fremont.
- 27:48Dayna Roselli: So the fact that the drinks were only 30 there for three, imagine what they are at other properties along Fremont Street that have been there for a while.
- 27:56Dayna Roselli: So we were like, yeah, this is a great tip for everyone.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: I mean, I feel like it's obvious, but it's not something that you think of.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: It's a lot more affordable to drink downtown.
- 28:07Sean McAllister: So keep that in mind.
- 28:08Sean McAllister: If you are, you know, coming to town or looking to have a night out, um uh that is, you know, something to keep in mind that your dollar's gonna go a little bit further down on Fremont Street and in the downtown Las Vegas area.
- 28:24Sean McAllister: And by the way, uh we Ubered in and out that night, and it was super easy and convenient.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: It was.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: It's something to consider whenever you're going to a paid parking property.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: Just think about it before.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: Like, what makes more sense, you know?
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: And there was three of us, and we thought, you know what?
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: Like, instead of paying to park and getting in and out on Halloween, and we knew that we would be, you know, judging and loosening up with some drinks and having fun.
- 28:48Dayna Roselli: So it was just a great option all the way around.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: So that really worked out well.
- 28:52Dayna Roselli: So that's our tip.
- 28:54Dayna Roselli: Go downtown if you want to drink it up.
- 28:56Dayna Roselli: Make sure you walk around, you don't drive, and then, you know, if you want to hit like one of the big, big clubs on the strip, you can kind of just get there and buy one drink, save yourself some money.
- 29:08Sean McAllister: So you're saying pregame downtown and then go to the strip and have your fun.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: That's what I'm saying.
- 29:14Dayna Roselli: I'm not saying it's not fun downtown because it is, it's just a different kind of fun.
- 29:17Dayna Roselli: But I know a lot of people that come in, they read all about these big nightclubs.
- 29:21Dayna Roselli: I have so many people that text me from out of town and say, hey, I'm coming in, you know, I want to go to Marquee, or can you get me into XS?
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: Or I want to check out the new Zook nightclub.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: So they want to go there, but it is pricey.
- 29:34Dayna Roselli: So that's my idea for everyone.
- 29:37Dayna Roselli: Pre-game and then go.
- 29:38Dayna Roselli: And they're both fun.
- 29:40Sean McAllister: We should have that, we should submit that as a new slogan for downtown Las Vegas.
- 29:45Sean McAllister: Pre-game here.
- 29:46Dayna Roselli: That's true.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: It's good.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: It's good.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: But I think downtown probably wants people to stay there.
- 29:50Sean McAllister: That's true.
- 29:51Sean McAllister: Very good point.
- 29:52Sean McAllister: Uh, you have another tip?
- 29:53Dayna Roselli: I do, but before that, I want to say we are gonna be downtown this weekend at the El Cortez for their 80th anniversary.
- 30:00Dayna Roselli: Looking forward to that.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: Fireworks, which will be great for everyone that's down there.
- 30:04Dayna Roselli: We're gonna have some dinner, we've got a spot reserved for us, so we'll talk more about that next week.
- 30:09Dayna Roselli: Let's do my tip.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: And my tip is because we were, you know, our business, we work a lot with different, we're content creators and we do a lot of like media training and things like that.
- 30:18Dayna Roselli: But um, I notice a lot of people already talking very heavily about the holidays and holiday discounts.
- 30:25Dayna Roselli: You know, how are we gonna get the word out that we're having this sale?
- 30:28Dayna Roselli: How are we gonna get the word out about our business?
- 30:30Dayna Roselli: You know, and I'm already starting to see a lot of things come up way before Black Friday, which is you know what used to be like the big sale day, but there's plenty of days in between now.
- 30:41Sean McAllister: So uh did you find a good Vegas deal, Dana?
- 30:45Dayna Roselli: I sure did.
- 30:46Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 30:47Dayna Roselli: It's at the Venetian.
- 30:48Dayna Roselli: So I know a lot of people love the Venetian Palazzo, beautiful hotel resort on the strip, and they're doing like Cyber Month, okay?
- 30:55Dayna Roselli: So it started November 1st, and they say, hey, get started on your holiday shopping.
- 31:00Dayna Roselli: I saw someone send out a tweet about this, so I clicked on it and I saw there are tons of deals, like 25% off, a$75 dining credit, uh, all different sizes of rooms and suites, the premiere suites and all that kind of thing, and all sorts of online savings.
- 31:16Dayna Roselli: So check it out.
- 31:17Dayna Roselli: Don't feel like you need to wait until Black Friday.
- 31:20Dayna Roselli: I feel like you could start browsing around now for your 2022 travel or visit to Las Vegas.
- 31:27Sean McAllister: And I know that um that was posted on our Vegas Revealed Twitter page uh already.
