Because at The Stronger Business Together, believe that you grow people so they ⁓ help grow your business. So what have you developed and found out about people over time? Marta Bagan: Yeah, this is exactly something that has changed after I changed myself. speaker-0: Hello Granger, thank you very much for having me on this podcast. It's really nice to be here. Pleasure. And share my journey with you and all the listeners. Marta Bagan: because I started to value myself more, I also started to value people more. So that had a huge positive effect on my team before I was, I do it all, I do it the best person and then I would get annoyed because you know people wouldn't do the things they were supposed to do but I necessarily would allow them to do it. So after I did my transformation I started seeing people ⁓ Granger Forson: then do contact us at info at strongerbusinesstogether.com. Now, go make your week really successful and we'll see you next time. Cheers. speaker-1: we look forward to it. So, let's go into act one now, your business. So, plain English, ⁓ does your business do? speaker-0: call myself Resilience and Transformation Mentor for Women. So combine self-defense, breath work, exposure, mindset, and all the from my life to help women overcome overthinking, second-guessing themselves, to start themselves, build that in their body. Marta Bagan: you are here to do the job, but also you are here to feel good. And I also started seeing their gifts, you know, the things they were good at. And I would allow them to use those skills, those gifts at work. So let's say I had ⁓ someone who was good with social media. So I would allow them to run the social media, even if she was only a bar staff. then, you know, that kind of like speaker-0: So they can say no without guilt and without fear, get themselves out of these difficult situations without second guessing themselves, ⁓ stop themselves to into any kind of toxic situations, relationships, environment. So ⁓ that's a nutshell. And I'm a Krav Maga instructor and a Wim Hof Method certified instructor. Marta Bagan: had double effect for her because she would practice the things she was studying, learning at work and that was also a benefit for me because I didn't have to do it. So that's an example. So once I changed the way I was leading my team to this and also create that environment that people actually come to work and have fun. So they enjoy coming to work. speaker-0: And I spent 20 years working in ⁓ management leadership. speaker-1: ⁓ good. ⁓ now you've about helping women, but typically ⁓ who the type of women that you like helping and ⁓ maybe are they dealing with? Marta Bagan: stopped giving them so many hours because as you might know in hospitality that ⁓ is contracted on for 48 hours and I think this is way too much because I believe that people need the life outside of work. We don't live to work, we work to live. speaker-0: So yes, it's women in ⁓ leadership, founders, business owners that are really there to make huge decisions. sometimes, you know, they stop themselves because there's this fear in their bodies. And sometimes make themselves a little bit smaller in those environment, which are mainly still run by So I see that, you know, Marta Bagan: So I started giving him less hours. And also because I started having my passions, like I started doing things outside of the work, they would follow. So I had an assistant manager who started running marathons, like he run a marathon in Greenland and I would support that. would create an environment for him so he can train and work. speaker-0: Women make themselves smaller in certain situations. this is where I come and help. Granger Forson: Yeah. Marta Bagan: So for me, everything became kind of possible. If somebody asked me, need time off that time, would, if it was possible, I would not make it difficult for them. speaker-1: so that's interesting way, interesting build to the business. So when did it start? What was that original spark? Because you said you were working in sort of leadership and coaching. ⁓ What the change? Granger Forson: And a lot of people, business owners, we worry that if we do these things, we won't be productive, we won't get the output. What the outcome? What was the business like ⁓ in of delivery and performance within the at that time when you started making these changes? speaker-0: Well, it's really started. Well, my business is what I call soul led business because it started from my own journey. I spent most of my life people pleasing, rescuing, putting myself second. most of my like I worked for 20 years, which is half of my life in hospitality, which is also like very man orientated, very man orientated business sector. Marta Bagan: Yes, for me as a manager, as a general manager, I started working less and I was more effective because I was more rested and I had my passions outside of work which made me happier. So I would come to work and I would be happy and I would be more productive and that was the same for my team. They worked less, they were more appreciated and they were doing the better job. They came to work, they weren't tired, they were happy. That to better customer service, as most customers. And we basically doubled the sales ⁓ quickly after we reopened after COVID. Like I had such a strong team that perhaps around the hour we were closing and we were the only one that was always open. speaker-0: All my bosses were male always. ⁓ found it from my own experience that in many situations I was overworking because I wanted to please my boss. Or ⁓ I that I need to work so hard for them to see the value in me. And also ⁓ going from Marta Bagan: And yeah, there was a time when all my team had COVID. Basically, I was the only person standing. So I had to like, you know, get help from other pubs, but I kept the pub open. speaker-0: toxic relationship to another, finally getting myself in a relationship with a narcissist, which kind of was a turning point in my life. That's when I started training. Well, I was training Krav Maga a little bit before, but that's when I really got into it. And that helped me build that strength in my body. And then that helped me with confidence, with my self-worth, with making decisions. And I totally changed. Granger Forson: What's interesting, you read a about ⁓ when businesses introduce the types things you talked about, they make a happy environment. actually, productivity goes up, revenue goes up, profitability goes up. ⁓ A lot of us really to really understand and see that, and you're a beautiful working example of exactly that. That's really what happens. speaker-0: my life, basically at work and my personal life. I became this confident woman and my business, the business that I was running, the path that I was running became successful because I changed from a manager to a leader. I started leading my team. ⁓ started working less. ⁓ gave, delegated, I started delegating my duties before I was, I do it all myself. I do it the best person. Marta Bagan: Yeah. Granger Forson: how did you make sure the team remained focused on delivering the right things, ⁓ when it got busy? Because there always times in every business where ⁓ is busy. You've got lots of customers in, lots of things to get done. ⁓ is arriving at the back door at the same time. ⁓ of things happening at once. How did you keep the business focused, your team focused on doing the right things? speaker-0: So basically it's changed my personal life and my life, ⁓ professional life. And during training craft, I decided to promote the self-defense system that ⁓ I I decided I want to help women in similar situations like me. So women that are high functioning, that are overworking, ⁓ that are pleasing. Marta Bagan: Well, everybody knew what they're meant to do. And I was also there with them. I wasn't the manager that would tell them, you go and do this. I would never ask someone to do something that I wouldn't do myself. But also there was a clarity of what their were, what they're meant to be doing. speaker-0: those ones that that all those things they lead into bad relationship as well because everything you know all these rules apply to all to all areas of your life. So if you are people pleaser at home you are people pleaser in your business. doesn't change. So that's how I ⁓ how I got that part and then Wim Hof method also it massively helped me with my help. Marta Bagan: Yeah, so everybody had that clarity. I come today, I run the shift. I come today, I do this. we had a very good system in place. We had schedules. So everybody exactly knew what needs to be done when. So if you come into work, there was a checklist that needs to be done on a Monday, that needs to be done on a Wednesday. Then we had the cleaning rotor behind the bar. So yeah, everything was very well organized. Everything had a place. I'm quite an organized person myself. So the place was also organized and everybody basically knew what needs to be done and when. speaker-0: It showed me how breath work and cold exposure makes you resilient to stress. It helps you with your health massively. Like as a child, I suffered from asthma, severe asthma. And then as a grown up woman, I was climbing mountains. So doing Wim Hof method, I set myself on to climb a mountain in Nepal. Granger Forson: Brilliant, yeah, no, that's fantastic. mean, my background is in lean and continuous improvement. people think, oh, that's about productivity. You know what it's about, as you say, it's about making a really easy workplace to work in. So everything's organized, everything's simple, everything has checklists, everything people know what we need to do and by when it's structured like that. But then that allows us to have that flexibility to bring in that fun, bring that enjoyment to work. And that's the real power of lean manufacturing. speaker-1: Well done. speaker-0: That's yeah, thank you. And actually one of my Krav Maga instructors lent me a book called Wim Hof Method and I took it with me and I was practicing reading from the book. I was practicing the breath work, the cold exposure, which was there all the time. I was the only one to sum it on that day. ⁓ that's when I saw the of the method for the first time. And also then I decided that I want to pass it on to people. I don't want to, Granger Forson: actually when you build that fun, lean culture. are the tools and techniques that people think they just see productivity, but actually you see amazing people driving amazing things. And in the lean world, we talk about this thing called waste. the eighth waste ⁓ the waste in people's talents. And you said exactly there that you had amazing people with amazing skills. Why not use them and utilize those at work? Beautiful, speaker-0: in an environment that harms people, I want to start helping people becoming healthier, stronger, happier, wealthier at the same time. Marta Bagan: Mm. speaker-1: Fantastic, that's amazing, what a fantastic journey. not just learnt things, you've applied them to yourself, which has then allowed you to help others. I think that's absolutely beautiful. why your customers pick you and how do you delight them? Marta Bagan: Yeah, yeah, and I was always like pushing them a little bit to grow as well, you know, even I saw potential in people and sometimes they weren't ready to step up and they just needed that little push and I would do that. Like I was never afraid of losing people in a way that, you know, they will grow and move on because that was a kind of it an evidence that I'm doing a good job. speaker-0: Well, that's the part I haven't got to yet so far. ⁓ well, actually that's not the whole truth because just moved to Stroud a few months ago and also the last two years I feel like I was also building myself up to hold the business that I want to create. So it's only recently that I decided to stay in Stroud and start my business here. And I know why I am here, which is Marta Bagan: So my latest assistant manager, took over the pub after, I think, I don't know, he was working for the company for four years or something. And that's very quick to take the pub over. So for me, that's a success. If one of my team grows so fast. Granger Forson: Brilliant, yes. speaker-0: because Stroud is like the friendliest place on earth, I think. And I don't know how my Krav Maga is going to work here, but we'll see. yes, I'm just starting to set myself up here. I've run some classes in Stroud, Wim Hof Method breeding classes. I have my first Krav student ⁓ also. We this week. So I'm just like, I'm just very at the beginning of building my business here in Gloucestershire. Granger Forson: Yeah, yeah, no, I totally agree and I fully get that. So, fantastic, Martha. Let's go on to our Act 3, to the hurdle round. So, what's the hurdle that you've brought for us to discuss today? Marta Bagan: I think the main one is to have too many ideas, too many tools in my toolbox and creating that simple channel for people that actually, okay, I know what she does and I need that. Because, you know, I have self-defense, have leadership, I have financial management, I have Wim Hof method. So I think because my knowledge is so broad, I want to give it all out. speaker-1: OK, fantastic. Well, I know we're going have a bit of a conversation around that during our hurdle round. for your business and for yourself, what are you then trying to achieve maybe in the next 12 months and why? Granger Forson: Okay. speaker-0: Yes, I would like to start running regular classes here Stroud or in Gloucestershire, maybe Gloucestershire Cheltenham. So I'm currently in a process of finding a new studio where I can continue with ⁓ my classes and possibly some more clients that I can self-defense and the Wim Hof ⁓ and also run workshops. that's kind of like idea. Granger Forson: Yeah. Yeah. Marta Bagan: And I think I have this problem with creating that one entrance so people can come into my world ⁓ then I can give them everything. ⁓ Granger Forson: Yes, yes, absolutely. I appreciate and understand that. Business Together, my partner and co-founder, ⁓ ⁓ were in a different business and we had seven different things that we were trying to sell. We just have one now. We only have one marketing process because we believe in one of our principles. So one was growing people. The other ⁓ of the principles is making things simple. speaker-0: for the next 12 months. And I also do an online program, I kind of like put on hold for now, but I'm actually going to do some going to do some ⁓ Redwork classes as well. Granger Forson: and that including your go-to market. Okay, so let's talk this through. at the moment, ⁓ me through what are the different services, things that you could do. Let's get that first of all, an understanding of that. speaker-1: Excellent, right so we've got a of an idea of what the year ahead means. Okay so let's move on to act two now, your journey. So the business hasn't been going long, did you have the business before you moved to Stroud and to Gloucestershire? speaker-0: No, actually, was what I was doing, I was trying to start an online business. But what I recently realized, as I mentioned before, ⁓ feel like I was in that ⁓ of building myself up to actually start a business because I left my job and I was employed for ⁓ of my life. And it's it's a huge mindset when you go from employed, self-employed ⁓ Marta Bagan: Yeah, so I actually started out with the Wim Hof bread work. So I found studio in Stroud and I started breading classes, but then I needed to change the studio. So I'm in the process of ⁓ looking a new studio where I can start that. I ⁓ to self-defense classes for women in the Gloucestershire, in Stroud, Gloucester or possibly Cheltenham somewhere. speaker-0: I didn't realize that I quit my job. Also, was going to start teaching. was in that I was training in that school in Krav Maga school in London and I was already starting to assist in classes and I was going to start to teach. But then two weeks after I left the job, I injured my knee. So not only I was changing my mindset around being Marta Bagan: so looking for a place for that as well. And I also do private mentoring, so I do private mentoring online, so where I combine all my knowledge. So self-defense principles, which you'll be surprised how many of them apply to actually real life. I combine with Wim Hof method, bread for nervous system regulation. then, sharing all the going through all the experiences that I've gone through life that might help other women to go through similar situations. So being in toxic relationships, being in toxic environments, people pleasing, rescuing all this pattern. speaker-0: self-employed and earning money for my own services, but I had to deal with the injury. yes, it was a massive journey. Then I decided to leave London. I moved to Melksham first, then I came to Stroud. So basically didn't have that stability. So I was to do things online, but also at the same time going through all this traumas that coming up. Marta Bagan: that most of women have ⁓ are making us small, know, they're us, they're us from growing basically. Granger Forson: Okay, okay, so let's think about, so at the moment what you're doing is you're thinking about you, yeah? So you're thinking about you and all the things that you can do. Let's turn that around, okay? Let's think about the people that you could help and what they are thinking, what their needs would be. Because often in the marketplace what we do is we, speaker-0: ⁓ because see that a lot, like I hear a lot about it now on social media and I've heard that when you start your own business, which is one of those that, is to your personal life, all this all this emotions, all this traumas that I was holding back, they started surfacing. So I needed to deal with that before coming. Granger Forson: we have a product or a service and we try and sell that service. But actually that service delivers a result. what we do is deliver results. Let's start our starting position. There lots of things that women need, totally understand that. But what we have to do is try and identify what one or two things they could be dealing with ⁓ and result that you would then deliver. speaker-0: out to the world with my offerings, with my services. speaker-1: I can understand. We to sort of heal ourselves before we can heal others. ⁓ very And in the leadership roles that you had when you ⁓ got things right and got things wrong, there were highs and lows. What were the highs and lows of being a leader for you? Marta Bagan: think the main one would be ⁓ pleasing ⁓ ⁓ trusting themselves. ⁓ Granger Forson: Okay. So would I don't mean to. Brilliant. a man. I'll apologize now for this conversation. Okay. Because ⁓ think like a man. Okay. So does does people pleasing does a woman wake up in the morning ⁓ her day, worry about people pleasing? I know you think about it maybe because you've been through a journey. ⁓ did you if you go back to you before you started this journey? speaker-0: highs. I see a lot of highs. I love working with people. The moment ⁓ changed the I looked at myself, I changed the way I looked at people. ⁓ So I started a lot more gifts in them. I started lifting them because I saw so much value in them because I started seeing the value in me. Marta Bagan: Hahaha speaker-0: So I would actually, I would first allow them to do the job they came here to do. But also ⁓ I saw that someone had a gift, I would try and let use this gift at work. And that actually created a very nice ⁓ environment, nice atmosphere. People love work. I say love. Granger Forson: Was that something that was going around your mind? I don't know. And that's the last question. Marta Bagan: I don't think so, because I didn't realize that I had that problem. Granger Forson: Okay. Absolutely, absolutely. And actually understand that concept of ⁓ people because ⁓ had the same issue as well. didn't realize I had it before doing that. what? Absolutely, yeah, yeah. So where, what they struggling ⁓ with? back to you before you started this journey, then sort of try and put yourself on the other side of the bridge. Cause the moment you're sitting, Marta Bagan: Yeah, it's not only women that struggle, but yeah. speaker-0: but I think they liked working with me because they stayed for a long time. it created a really nice atmosphere for as a team and for customers. opening after COVID, basically like doubled our sales in a very short period ⁓ of time, which ⁓ great. Granger Forson: on the other side of the water, you're sitting on the solution side. What we have to do is put ourselves in the problem side. So what do you think their problem that you could help that they're dealing with, that they would understand in their words? Marta Bagan: Mmm. Hmm, a very good question. speaker-1: Brilliant, brilliant. Granger Forson: Mmm. Marta Bagan: think for me it was probably over giving and feeling annoyed by that, that I was giving so much that came you know even at work I was there was times when I was doing 70 hours. ⁓ Yeah so I think it was Granger Forson: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So brilliant. I like these words. I like these. Do you feel like you're over giving? Are you giving too many hours? Yeah. Are you not getting a return in your relationship or work or a home? Yes. are sort of words and understandings that people could relate to. Yeah. So thinking about that, what we then talk about is once we have a sort of a starting condition in marketing, this is what people are feeling right. Marta Bagan: Hmm. Yeah. Granger Forson: What we have to do is we have to build a bridge and the bridge is to where they will get to. Now you can say this is where you can get to because I've done this. And the powerful thing that you have is you have a bridge that maybe nobody else has and that's your experience. So you have tried many different things to cross that bridge. Okay. So rather than designing the bridge yet, what's the outcome? What would you say? Are you doing too many hours? Are you trying to... Do too much, are you over giving? Do you feel like that? would you say to them that you have found, not the physical things, but what have you found at the end of your bridge? Marta Bagan: Well, you know, now, when you said all these things, I think it was mainly self-worth that I was struggling with. And that's that was the main thing and everything. other things were kind of like built on one thing. So what I can say that after working with me, your self-worth will be stronger. You will start. loving yourself you will start yourself and I think that and I know I don't think I know that that will help in day-to-day situations so if that's a clearer message ⁓ Granger Forson: Yes. Brilliant. absolutely. within marketing, what we're trying to do is we're not trying to sell our products or services. What we're trying to do is wake people up to, do you feel like this? Is this happening to you? Is this going on in your life? this, you know, we're trying to wake people up to what we call the pain. They feel the pain. Can they resonate with the pain because you're using the words and the language that they would use? And the brilliant thing that you've got You were once there. You know those words. You know those feelings. And then you're saying, do you want this? This is where I've got to and talk about you. This is what I've achieved. This is what I've helped my clients achieve. This is where we've got to, not all the products and services that you're going to do, but just how they feel, how you now feel what you're doing. We know it's called talking about the destination. So, you know, an analogy that I learned in marketing is, you know, Marta Bagan: Yeah. Granger Forson: You talk to people about going on holiday. Yeah, when they go on holiday, you don't talk about, well, you've got to book your tickets, you've got to get to the airport, you've got to find your aircraft, you've got to get on the plane, you've got to there for six hours, you've got to find the taxi at the other end, you've got to get to the hotel, you've got to clock in, you've got... ⁓ don't tell them all that. That's all the things that we have to do. What we do is we say, look at this beautiful beach. Yeah. Look at you sitting here beside the pool reading your book. Yeah. Marta Bagan: You Granger Forson: Okay, we're selling the destination, not the journey. And what you were telling me beforehand, these are all the things I can do. That's the journey that you're going to take them through. Okay, so once they buy into the holiday, then you can then say, should we do? Well, actually, I think what we're to do is we're going to do these different steps in order to get there. And then you can give them an understanding of it, but they still won't understand it because they've not gone through what you've gone through. Marta Bagan: Mmm. That's a great analogy. Yeah, thank you. Granger Forson: Okay? Yeah. Okay. So that then starts then to help you to think about, okay, if you were going to take these women that have these type of feelings or these type of situation with this, and then we're to get them to here and they're going to feel this and they're going to get to this point, okay, then you can then say, what do we need to do on the journey to get them there? And that's where you can then start to say, which one of your products and services would work? Okay. So it might not be, Marta Bagan: you Granger Forson: I know, I'm just thinking of like, it might not be the self-defense, it might be the breath work, it might be skills that you've got. There might be a different journey that brings in the self-defense and that's then a different product or a different service. ⁓ you might say, ⁓ these all things stitched together in one type of class or one type of journey that we take people through. ⁓ people want to buy a transformation, ⁓ don't want to buy breath work, they don't want to. to buy your specific services, et cetera. And if you can sell the journey, then you can likely ⁓ get people to understand and come on that with you. And powerful thing about the journey, it's your journey. You can sell it. You've been on it. You've experienced it. You know what it does. Yeah. And that's where having the attractable character, the person that's been on that journey is the most powerful thing ⁓ in business because you're now selling. Marta Bagan: You Granger Forson: you, your transformation and showing people that what they can do and achieve. So based on that thought. Marta Bagan: That's great, yeah, very helpful. Thank you. Granger Forson: So based on that thought, what would our words be saying? Are you like this and this is what you could become because this is me? Where are you now in your thinking? Marta Bagan: So are you feeling overwhelmed? Are you feeling not worthy so you're overworking yourself? Are you feeling not worthy so you keep getting up in a toxic relationship? Granger Forson: Exit. Yep. Marta Bagan: So yeah, after working with me, we will build up your self-worth to the point when you feel confident to say no, when you feel confident to rest when you need to, when you feel the worth in yourself, not in the work that you are doing, that you feel so worthy that you never ever will any toxic environment or toxic relationship again. Granger Forson: you've got what you feel. You've got where you're going to sell them to. Now you can go to the marketplace with that. You can now try and sell it. You can go to networking groups ⁓ and talk about that and if people respond. If they don't respond, then you can ⁓ practice it different ways. Because talked about how do we start selling. the best place is try that in networking events. Try to go try and meet. women in different environments where you could go to, kind of think where that would be, but you know, friends know in coffee shops, people that you're meeting, acquaintances that you're meeting in places, okay. The clients that you've got currently in the courses you're running, yeah, ⁓ for things, okay. And then can get that feedback and see if the words are right, if people say, please, I want to do that. Now... you've got to decide two things. One is how much you're going to charge for that transformation. And the second bit is what that transformation journey will be. So that could be just the breath work classes that you do. That could be a combination of things. Marta Bagan: Yeah, I think it's it's yeah Yeah, I think yeah, I think as you said earlier it can be different for for a different individual Because I think maybe that's why I have so many tools that I can apply I can sit with a woman and I can see okay You might not need self-defense yet, but you might need work to regulate. So I have these tools for ⁓ situations, different individuals. It's not one fits all basically. I can tailor it. So what we, fantastic. the type of thing you're thinking about now is in a book called 100 Million Dollar Offers by Alex Rolosi. Granger Forson: So what we, fantastic. the type of thing you're thinking about now is in a book called $100 million offers by Alex Hormosi or like crazy. can't think of the guy's name. Apologies to the guy who wrote that book. But what you're now talking about is the offer. So the offer, you've got your before, you've got your after. The offer is the list of things that you will do with that individual in order to get them there. And you make the offer so wow that they say yes. Now, not everybody says yes. Yeah, that's why they talk about marketing being a funnel. Yeah, lots of people at the top, but only a few people say yes at the bottom. Okay, not everybody says yes. But... Those people at the bottom of the funnel, they say yes because they understand, because they relate to when you say this is how, are you feeling like this? They go, yes, I want that destination. And they hear your offer and they go, yes, please, I'm doing that. Okay, so that's when you then bring in your products and services and you start to make it. And the offers, The expression ⁓ the office wow, yeah, the people feel stupid to say no to it. Okay. ⁓ Marta Bagan: ⁓ the expression the offer so wow yeah the thief feels stupid to say no to it yeah it was called is irresistible offer absolutely yeah the godfather offer is the other expression but i want to use that expression is very male-oriented ⁓ Granger Forson: Absolutely, the godfather offers the other expression but I didn't want to use that expression because it's very male-orientated. But you need all those elements. You need the, are you feeling like this? Do you want to feel like this? Do you want to get here? And here's the offer to help you get there. So what does that help you bring to thinking to your head now? Marta Bagan: You need all those elements. need that. Are you feeling like this? Do you want to feel like this? Do want to get here? And here's the offer to help you get there. So what does that help you bring to think into your head now? What came to my head is that I need to, yes, do that, I already knew that I need to do it, but I think my problem was to keep changing ⁓ offer. I never stuck long enough with the offer to actually see if it works. But also that comes with the pressure of wanting to earn money. Granger Forson: Yes. Marta Bagan: Because the bills are there, know, the bills won't wait. yeah, but like everything that you said is like, it's yeah, it's really it really resonates. And yeah, that's exactly what needs to be done. Have the offer and stick with it for long enough to actually see if it works and then change. But then my issue is that I change too quickly. I'm not a patient. Granger Forson: Absolutely. Yes. Yes. Yes. we all feel that way. ⁓ it's of case of in marketing, tweaking the, you this? do you want this? And then here's the offer. It's about tweaking it rather than redesigning the whole thing. And how do we it? We get feedback. So you find your first five people. Does it resonate with them? No. Keep changing it. Until not the offer because the offer remain the same because that's the journey that you went through. You know that it works Yeah, it's just the words to encourage people that they want to work with you because of the before-and-after situation the pain and the pleasure that they're going to get So it's tweaking that changing that until you get to that point where you get five people say yes Then you then try and find ten people to say yes, and you tweak it again to get ten people and then you get 20 It's always that just subtle tweaking but it's a numbers game. So what I mean by that in marketing, only a percentage of people remember I said it's a funnel. Yeah, so you might be talking to two, you may be talking to 20 people to find one people to say yes. Now you can tweak it to maybe get five people to say yes every 20. Yeah, but you'll never get all 20 people to say yes. Yeah, because not everybody feels that situation needs fixing in their life at that moment in time, but it may stick with them and one day they'll go. ⁓ yes, I met Marta and she said this, I want that now. Marta Bagan: Yeah, amazing, yeah that's very good. Granger Forson: So based on that, and you can do all of that in a weekend. redesigned Stronger Business together after four years ⁓ working together and another organization. We designed that in a five hour conversation driving in the car. So you do it quickly and it really does work. Marta Bagan: I will try it straight after this podcast. Granger Forson: So what would be your ex- I was going to say, what's your first experiment going to be? ⁓ Marta Bagan: I going to say, what's your first experiment going to be? I'm going to do what we talked about on this podcast and I'm going to post it straight on social media. Okay, yeah, brilliant. I would try and find some local groups, networking groups, etc. Granger Forson: Okay, yeah, brilliant. I would try and find some local groups, some networking groups, et cetera, and get some one-to-ones with some women afterwards and practice and work with them to see if that works. Because you'll get better feedback from people face-to-face in the first 20, 30, 40 customers than you will if you try and do it online. Marta Bagan: get to one-to-ones with women afterwards and practice and work with them to see if that works. Because you'll get better feedback from people face to face in the first 20, 30, 40 customers than you will if you try and do it online. That's true. Thank you. I appreciate that. Granger Forson: Brilliant. Super. Right, Martha, let's go into our wrap up and close. What did you hear yourself today maybe that surprised you? Marta Bagan: So, right, Martha, let's go into our wrap up and close. What did you hear yourself today maybe that surprised you? Hmm. But I actually have clarity and I'm somehow avoiding it. ⁓ circling around but I actually know what I want to do. ⁓ So thank you. Thank you for your honesty. So Marta, how can people find out more about you and follow more of your journey? Well, I am on Instagram under my name. That's my main kind of outlet. I have a website, but I'm redesigning it because I couldn't change the old one because it's broken. It broke somehow, so I need to redesign it from the start. yeah, I'm on Instagram, on LinkedIn, ⁓ my name, everything is under my name. Granger Forson: Fantastic, fantastic. I've got one more for you, just something that came to my head just then. Once you know what your before and after is, research the internet. Find big companies. said, they may have 10 employees, they may just be one person, but it looks like they're making lots of revenue from this opportunity. ⁓ very similar things to you, not... Marta Bagan: employees, may just be one person but they look like they're making lots of revenue from this opportunity. Yeah, but doing very similar things to you, not the journey because that's unique to you, but the before and after outcomes and just see what they're doing. We talk about modeling successful marketing campaigns. Granger Forson: the journey because that's unique to you, but the before and after outcome and just see what they're doing. Okay. We talk, we talk about modeling successful marketing campaigns. Okay. But maybe at this moment, it's not copying them on Instagram and all those sort of things. It's looking at the words they use, looking at the before and after feeling that that structure really seeing and understanding that that way, ⁓ know, you don't need to reinvent the wheel. You can. what other people are doing and model it but just within your words. Marta Bagan: Yeah, that's a great tip. Thank you very much Granger. I appreciate it. Granger Forson: Brilliant. Well, Marta, thank you so much for being open and honest. I know our listeners will take a lot from this conversation. It's been fantastic. Thank you. Marta Bagan: Well, hope they do and thank you very much for having me on your podcast. It was great. I also learned a lot from you. So I appreciate it a lot. Thank you very much.
