Transcript
- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Dutch with Fexingo. Ready for episode 166? Luna: Yeah, I'm excited. Last time we learned de nek, de schouder, and de knie. Right? Lucas: Exactly. And today we're going to review those three body parts and practice them in a new way. Luna: Perfect. My neck is still a little sore from sitting at my desk all day. So de nek feels relevant. Lucas: Ah, that's a good reason to practice. Let's start with de nek. Repeat after me: de nek. Luna: De nek. Lucas: Good. Now, de schouder. Luna: De schouder. Lucas: And de knie. Luna: De knie. Lucas: You remember those well. Let's try a little scene. Imagine you're at a sports clinic because you hurt your knee during a run. Luna: Okay. I can say: Mijn knie doet pijn. Lucas: Perfect. And the doctor might say: Ik kijk naar uw knie. Let me check your knee. Luna: Ik kijk naar uw knie. That sounds very doctor-like. Lucas: And what if you also have a stiff neck? De nek is stijf. Luna: De nek is stijf. I can use that. Lucas: Or if you have a shoulder injury? De schouder doet pijn. Luna: De schouder doet pijn. I should remember that for when I overdo it at the gym. Lucas: Let's do a quick quiz. I'll say a body part in English, you say it in Dutch. Neck. Luna: De nek. Lucas: Shoulder. Luna: De schouder. Lucas: Knee. Luna: De knie. Lucas: Excellent. You really have these down now. Luna: Thanks. And I feel like I can use them in real life. Lucas: That's the goal. And if this show has been helping you make actual progress with Dutch, the way we keep it ad-free is through listener support. You can find us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it's a small way to keep these episodes coming without interruptions. Lucas: So let's go back to our body parts. Can you tell me a sentence using all three? Luna: Hmm. Mijn nek, schouder en knie doen pijn. Lucas: Perfect. That's a full sentence. You said my neck, shoulder, and knee hurt. Luna: Yes. But I hope I never have to say that all at once. Lucas: Me too. But if you do, you know how. Let's practice one more time. Repeat after me: de nek. Luna: De nek. Lucas: De schouder. Luna: De schouder. Lucas: De knie. Luna: De knie. Lucas: Great job, Luna. And listeners, practice these words and phrases until next time. Luna: See you in episode 167!
