- 0:00SPEAKER_10: Ladies and gentlemen, we ask that you please take your seats at this time as the program will begin momentarily.
- 0:06SPEAKER_10: Thank you.
- 0:14SPEAKER_10: Uplifting the airways, one dimple at a time.
- 0:18SPEAKER_10: It's time for the Dimple Report.
- 0:22SPEAKER_10: News, laughs, and dimplified moments with your host, founder, and chief devils officer of National Doubles Day, Graceful Grady.
- 0:32SPEAKER_10: Remember, dimples are more than a trait.
- 0:34SPEAKER_10: They're a reason to celebrate.
- 1:04SPEAKER_09: Now I'm your host, Grace Fulgrady, Founder and Chief Dimples Officer of National Dimples Day.
- 1:10SPEAKER_09: In Dimples Nation, we have another show packed with entertainment, sports, a little fun, and later, one legendary electric guitar.
- 1:19SPEAKER_09: But before we get there, today's show begins on a more personal note.
- 1:23SPEAKER_09: One of the things I love about the Dimple Report is that the Dimples gives us a completely different way to tell stories.
- 1:30SPEAKER_09: Sometimes those stories make us laugh.
- 1:32SPEAKER_09: Sometimes they introduce us to someone we never knew.
- 1:35SPEAKER_09: And sometimes they give us a chance to say goodbye.
- 1:40SPEAKER_09: So, with that said, let's get into this week's Dimples and the Headlines.
- 2:32SPEAKER_09: Right there amongst Dinah Ross and Oprah.
- 2:35SPEAKER_09: So I grew up knowing that smile, that voice, that personality.
- 2:39SPEAKER_09: And Dolly, well, she already holds a special place in the history of this podcast because way back in season one, episode 14, I selected Dolly Parton as my dimple spotlight.
- 2:52SPEAKER_09: Think about that.
- 2:53SPEAKER_09: Long before today, we had an opportunity right here on The Dimple Report to give Dolly her flowers while she was still here.
- 3:02SPEAKER_09: She wasn't simply a country music superstar.
- 3:05SPEAKER_09: She was a songwriter, an actress, businesswoman, and a philanthropist whose influence reached generations of people.
- 3:11SPEAKER_09: And speaking of smiles, those cheek dimples helped make it unmistakably Dolly.
- 3:15SPEAKER_09: So from me, Graceful Grady, the Dimple Report, National Dimples Day, and all of Dimple's Nation.
- 3:22SPEAKER_09: Thank you, Dolly.
- 3:24SPEAKER_09: Your music will live on.
- 3:26SPEAKER_09: Your generosity will live on.
- 3:28SPEAKER_09: And that beautiful, dimpled smile will never, ever be forgotten.
- 3:33SPEAKER_09: Rest in peace, Dolly Parton.
- 3:40SPEAKER_09: Now, Dimple's Nation.
- 3:42SPEAKER_09: Dolly certainly knew how to make people smile.
- 3:44SPEAKER_09: And speaking of smiles, I think somebody's been hiding a dimple from us for a very long time.
- 3:50SPEAKER_09: Who am I talking about?
- 3:52SPEAKER_09: Little Debbie.
- 3:54SPEAKER_09: Yes, that little Debbie.
- 3:56SPEAKER_09: You know little Debbie.
- 3:58SPEAKER_09: The girl on the box has been tempting us in the snack out for years.
- 4:01SPEAKER_09: Well, Dimple's Nation.
- 4:03SPEAKER_09: Our research has uncovered something that's been hiding right in front of us.
- 4:07SPEAKER_09: But before I continue.
- 4:11SPEAKER_07: This is a public service announcement.
- 4:14SPEAKER_09: Remember my old research team?
- 4:16SPEAKER_09: Me, myself, and I.
- 4:18SPEAKER_09: Well, they've been upgraded.
- 4:20SPEAKER_09: We now have an official new division.
- 4:23SPEAKER_09: The DDU, the DIPO detection unit.
- 4:26SPEAKER_09: Oh yes.
- 4:28SPEAKER_09: And the DDU has made its first discovery after a thorough investigation.
- 4:33SPEAKER_09: And by thorough investigation, I mean looking very, very closely at the Little Debbie logo with the dimplifying glass.
- 4:40SPEAKER_09: DDU has determined Little Debbie has a cheek dimple on the left-hand side of her face.
- 4:46SPEAKER_09: Now, apparently, Little Debbie isn't satisfied with just taking over the snack cake gobble.
- 4:51SPEAKER_09: Now she's moving into the gourmet chocolate.
- 4:54SPEAKER_09: Little Debbie has teamed up with Los Angeles Chocolatier Compartes for three limited edition chocolate bars.
- 5:02SPEAKER_09: They are Drumroll Leeds.
- 5:29SPEAKER_09: So, little Debbie, if you're listening, send a few of those chocolate bars over here to the Dipper Report.
- 5:36SPEAKER_09: I'll be glad to investigate the situation personally.
- 5:41SPEAKER_09: Strictly for journalists, of course.
- 5:45SPEAKER_09: From country music royalty to chocolate.
- 5:48SPEAKER_09: Now, let's head to the basketball court because somebody I talked about just last week is already making news again.
- 5:56SPEAKER_09: Dibbles Nation.
- 5:58SPEAKER_09: Remember my fantasy dimple draftee from last week.
- 6:01SPEAKER_09: It was Olivia Miles, who has a cleft chin.
- 6:05SPEAKER_09: Also known as a chin dimple, or as some people like to call it, a butt chin.
- 6:10SPEAKER_09: Dibbles Nation?
- 6:11SPEAKER_09: Olivia gave us a scare last week when she rolled her left ankle against Golden State.
- 6:16unknown: Don't worry.
- 6:16SPEAKER_09: Olivia Miles is back.
- 6:19SPEAKER_09: Apparently the ankle got the memo.
- 6:21SPEAKER_09: We've got the Rookie of the Year race to finish.
- 6:24SPEAKER_09: Miles has put together an incredible rookie season for Minnesota and remains right there in the conversation for WNBA Rookie of the Year.
- 6:32SPEAKER_09: So, Olivia, welcome back.
- 6:34SPEAKER_09: And Dimbles Nation, don't forget, I drafted her twice.
- 6:38SPEAKER_09: Now, before anyone calls the league office, remember I received special permission from the commissioner, allowing me to draft someone more than once from that segment.
- 6:48SPEAKER_09: So technically, I'm not cheating.
- 6:50SPEAKER_09: I'm scouting.
- 6:54SPEAKER_09: Alright, Dimple's Nation, that's a wrap for this week's Dimples and the Headlines.
- 7:03SPEAKER_09: We've remembered a legend.
- 7:04SPEAKER_09: In Dolly Part, the new dimple detection unit uncovered a dimple that's been hiding in a snack owl for years.
- 7:11SPEAKER_09: And Olivia Miles is back on the court chasing Rookie of the Year.
- 7:15SPEAKER_09: But now, Dimples Nation, turn the lights down.
- 7:19SPEAKER_09: Turn that amplifier up.
- 7:21SPEAKER_09: And I mean, all the way up.
- 7:23SPEAKER_09: Because we're about to go from a basketball court to a guitar that changed music forever.
- 7:28SPEAKER_09: This week's Dipple Spotlight belongs to a man with a dimple, an electric guitar.
- 7:38SPEAKER_09: And a sound the world had never heard before.
- 7:41SPEAKER_09: A man who didn't simply play the electric guitar, he made that guitar talk.
- 7:46SPEAKER_09: Seattle born, rock and roll revolutionary, and one of the most influential guitarists of all time.
- 7:54SPEAKER_09: Get ready.
- 7:56SPEAKER_09: Because this week's Dimples Spotlight is shining on the one, the only, Jimi Hendrix.
- 8:12SPEAKER_07: We will be right back.
- 8:14SPEAKER_07: There's a pattern hiding in plain sight.
- 8:18SPEAKER_07: The last three Super Bowl MVPs all had some form of dimple.
- 8:24SPEAKER_07: The latest Major League Baseball MVPs, some form of dimple.
- 8:29SPEAKER_07: The latest best actor and best actress Oscar winners, some form of dimple.
- 8:34SPEAKER_07: The last three masters champions, some form of dimple.
- 8:39SPEAKER_07: We're not saying dimples create champions.
- 8:41SPEAKER_07: We're saying champions with dimples keep showing up.
- 8:45SPEAKER_07: Now imagine turning that pattern into a prediction.
- 8:48SPEAKER_07: Dimple bets.
- 8:49SPEAKER_07: Where the next question could be: will the next champion have some form of dimples?
- 8:55SPEAKER_07: Place your bets.
- 8:56SPEAKER_07: Dimple bets.
- 8:58SPEAKER_09: Coming soon.
- 9:02SPEAKER_09: Alright, Dimples Nation.
- 9:03SPEAKER_09: For this week's Dimple Spotlight, I think we need to turn the lights down, turn the amplifier up, and I mean way up.
- 9:10SPEAKER_09: And let that electric guitar do some talking.
- 9:14SPEAKER_09: Because today, we're celebrating a man who didn't simply play the electric guitar, he changed what people thought an electric guitar could do.
- 9:23SPEAKER_09: And of course, I wouldn't be me if I didn't notice one other little detail.
- 9:28SPEAKER_09: Jimmy had a dimple.
- 9:29SPEAKER_09: That's right.
- 9:30SPEAKER_09: Today's dimple spotlight shines on the legendary Jimi Hendrix.
- 9:35SPEAKER_09: Now, Jimmy was born in Seattle in 1942.
- 9:38SPEAKER_09: And here's something incredible.
- 9:40SPEAKER_09: He was largely self-taught and couldn't read or write musical notations.
- 9:44SPEAKER_09: He learned by listening, experimenting, and developing a sound that was completely his own.
- 9:49SPEAKER_09: And before the world knew the name Jimi Hendrix, he spent time playing behind other performers, including the Isley brothers.
- 9:56SPEAKER_09: Eventually, Jimmy wasn't going to stay in the background.
- 10:00SPEAKER_09: Oh no.
- 10:00SPEAKER_09: That guitar belonged out front and center.
- 10:04SPEAKER_09: In 1966, he headed to London.
- 10:07SPEAKER_09: That's where the Jimi Hendrix experience was formed.
- 10:09SPEAKER_09: And suddenly people started asking, Who are you?
- 10:12SPEAKER_09: The music was loud, the clothes were colorful, the performances were unpredictable, and that guitar sounded like nothing people had heard of before.
- 10:21SPEAKER_09: But here's one of my favorite Jimi Hendrix facts.
- 10:24SPEAKER_09: Jimmy was left-handed.
- 10:26SPEAKER_09: And rather than simply playing a conventional right-handed guitar the conventional way, Jimmy became famous for taking right-handed fender stratocasters and flipping them over to accommodate his left-handed playing.
- 10:37SPEAKER_09: So, yes, Dip was Nation, the man was playing the guitar literally upside down.
- 10:43SPEAKER_09: Now, that deserves a little dip of report investigation because apparently playing the guitar normally wasn't challenging enough for Jimi Hendrix.
- 10:52SPEAKER_09: He didn't just play notes.
- 10:54SPEAKER_09: He experimented with distortion, feedback, fuzz, war effects, and sounds that helped redefine what an electric guitar could be.
- 11:03SPEAKER_09: Then came 1967.
- 11:05SPEAKER_09: Jimmy returned to America for the Monterey International Pop Festival.
- 11:09SPEAKER_09: And if people didn't know who Jimi Hendrix was before Monterey, they certainly knew afterwards.
- 11:14SPEAKER_09: His performance became legendary, including that time, that unforgettable moment when he set his guitar on fire.
- 11:23SPEAKER_09: And then in 1969 came Woodstock.
- 11:27SPEAKER_09: And Jimi Hendrix delivered his unforgettable interpretation of the Star Spangled Banner.
- 11:32SPEAKER_09: That performance alone remains one of the defining images and sounds associated with Woodstock.
- 11:38SPEAKER_09: But here's what makes Jimmy's story even more remarkable.
- 11:42SPEAKER_09: His rise at the very top was incredibly short.
- 11:45SPEAKER_09: His official biography describes his meteoric rise as taking place in only about four years.
- 11:52SPEAKER_09: Four years.
- 11:53SPEAKER_09: Yet, more than half a century later, we're still talking about him.
- 11:58SPEAKER_09: We're still listening to him.
- 12:00SPEAKER_09: Guitarists are still studying him.
- 12:02SPEAKER_09: And today, the Dimple Report is still putting that dimple spotlight on him.
- 12:07SPEAKER_09: In Dimple's Nation, you know me, when I'm researching somebody for this segment, I'm looking for everything: the accomplishments, the history, the influence.
- 12:16SPEAKER_09: And then my dimple detection unit goes to work.
- 12:19SPEAKER_09: And when you catch certain photographs of Jimmy smiling, there it is, that dimple.
- 12:25SPEAKER_09: So today, we're celebrating more than an incredible musician.
- 12:29SPEAKER_09: We're celebrating innovation, individuality, someone who wasn't afraid to do things, a left-handed guitarist playing a flipped right-handed guitar, a self-taught musician who couldn't read music, who went on to influence generations of musicians.
- 12:44SPEAKER_09: Maybe that's part of the lesson Jimi Hendrix left us.
- 12:47SPEAKER_09: You don't always have to do something the conventional way to do something extraordinary.
- 12:52SPEAKER_09: Jimi Hendrix, you are officially in the Dimple Spotlight.
- 13:03SPEAKER_09: Dimples Nation, grab your pen and a piece of paper because after this commercial break, you know what time it is.
- 13:11SPEAKER_09: It's trivia time.
- 13:14SPEAKER_11: Cheek dimples, sweet and fine.
- 13:16SPEAKER_11: Chincel bold, that perfect line.
- 13:18SPEAKER_11: Back dimples, ooh, they shine.
- 13:20SPEAKER_11: Every curve, every smile divine.
- 13:23SPEAKER_11: Confidence, that's the core.
- 13:24SPEAKER_11: Style in love, we give you more.
- 13:27SPEAKER_11: Flaunch your dimples, there we adore.
- 13:28SPEAKER_11: Chew your charm at the dimple store.
- 13:31SPEAKER_11: Every dimple, every dimple deserves its shine.
- 13:35SPEAKER_11: The dimple stars that come.
- 13:44SPEAKER_09: Now, Dimple's Nation, we've put the dimple spotlight on the legendary Jimi Hendrix.
- 13:50SPEAKER_09: We've talked about the music, the electric guitar, the incredible career, and of course, that dimple.
- 13:57SPEAKER_09: But you know the rules around here.
- 13:58SPEAKER_09: You don't get out of the dimple spotlight without a little trivia.
- 14:02SPEAKER_09: So let's see how much you really know about Jimi Hendrix.
- 14:06SPEAKER_09: I've got three questions.
- 14:08SPEAKER_09: Get all three right, and today you can officially call yourself a dimple spotlight rock star.
- 14:26SPEAKER_09: Here we go.
- 14:28SPEAKER_09: Question number one.
- 14:29SPEAKER_09: Jimi Hendrix was naturally left-handed.
- 14:32SPEAKER_09: What was unusual about many of the guitars he famously played?
- 14:36SPEAKER_09: A.
- 14:37SPEAKER_09: They had only five strings.
- 14:40SPEAKER_09: B there were right-handed guitars flipped over for left-handed playing.
- 14:45SPEAKER_09: C.
- 14:46SPEAKER_09: They were specially made without volume controls.
- 14:50SPEAKER_09: Or D.
- 14:51SPEAKER_09: They were acoustic guitars converted into electric guitars.
- 14:57SPEAKER_09: Lock it in.
- 15:04SPEAKER_09: The correct answer is The answer is B.
- 15:08SPEAKER_09: Jimmy famously played right-handed fender stratocasters and flipped over to accommodate his left-handed play.
- 15:15SPEAKER_09: So if you picked B, you're one for one.
- 15:19SPEAKER_09: Question number two.
- 15:20SPEAKER_09: Before becoming an international superstar, Jimi Hendrix played professionally with which famous group?
- 15:28SPEAKER_09: A.
- 15:29SPEAKER_09: The Isley Brothers.
- 15:31SPEAKER_09: B The Temptations.
- 15:34SPEAKER_09: C The Beach Boys.
- 15:36SPEAKER_09: Or D the Four Tops.
- 15:46SPEAKER_09: The correct answer is the correct answer?
- 15:50SPEAKER_09: A.
- 15:50SPEAKER_09: The Isley Brothers.
- 15:52SPEAKER_09: Alright, Dimple's Nation.
- 15:54SPEAKER_09: If you're two for two, don't celebrate yet.
- 15:57SPEAKER_09: Because number three is for the Dimple Spotlight Championship.
- 16:02SPEAKER_09: Question number three, the final question.
- 16:06SPEAKER_09: At which Legendary's 1967 Musical Festival did Jimi Hendrix famously end his performance by setting his guitar on fire.
- 16:15SPEAKER_09: A Woodstock.
- 16:18SPEAKER_09: B.
- 16:19SPEAKER_09: Newport Folk Festival.
- 16:21SPEAKER_09: C Monterey International Pop Festival.
- 16:25SPEAKER_09: Or D.
- 16:26SPEAKER_09: The New York Sound Festival.
- 16:28SPEAKER_09: Think about this one, because I know some of you heard Jimi Hendrix and immediately picked Woodstock.
- 16:34SPEAKER_09: The answer is C.
- 16:36SPEAKER_09: The Monterey International Pop Festival.
- 16:39SPEAKER_04: Hmm.
- 16:40SPEAKER_09: That's right.
- 16:41SPEAKER_09: The famous Burning Performance happened at Monterey in 1967, two years before Woodstock.
- 16:49SPEAKER_09: So, how did you do, DisNation?
- 16:51SPEAKER_09: Give yourself a hand if you got all three correct.
- 17:09SPEAKER_09: Now, you already know we can't put somebody in the Dimple Spotlight without giving them their own musical tribute.
- 17:17SPEAKER_09: But when the spotlight belongs to Jimi Hendrix, I had a little problem.
- 17:21SPEAKER_09: How do you tell my singing group, Dimpo Suave, and the Dimplettes, they're making a song for one of the most influential electric guitarists of all time.
- 17:32SPEAKER_09: And on top of that, Dimple's Nation.
- 17:35SPEAKER_09: You know I like to give my group a challenge.
- 17:37SPEAKER_09: Last week, I had one of the Dimplettes imitate our Dimple spotlight, Ariana Grande, and she did an outstanding job.
- 17:46SPEAKER_09: And well, that's not about to change now, even for Jimi Hendrix.
- 17:50SPEAKER_09: Here is the challenge, or should I say, challenges.
- 17:54SPEAKER_09: One, Dimple Suave, can you have the guitarist play left-handed just like Jimmy?
- 18:00SPEAKER_10: Bruh.
- 18:01SPEAKER_09: Two.
- 18:03SPEAKER_09: Can you let him go solo for a minute and tell him he has to sound exactly like Jimi Hendrix?
- 18:10SPEAKER_09: Bruh.
- 18:10SPEAKER_09: And lastly, one more, last one.
- 18:14SPEAKER_09: Jimi Hendrix, he played psychedelic rock, electronic blues, and funk-infused rock.
- 18:20SPEAKER_09: Here's my challenge.
- 18:22SPEAKER_09: Ready?
- 18:23SPEAKER_09: Jimi Hendrix playing smooth jazz.
- 18:30SPEAKER_14: Rewind.
- 18:31SPEAKER_09: You heard me, smooth jazz.
- 18:40SPEAKER_09: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Dimpo Suabe and the Dimplettes.
- 18:56SPEAKER_13: Turn the lights down low.
- 19:03SPEAKER_12: There's a sound in the room tonight.
- 19:08SPEAKER_12: Six strings.
- 19:12SPEAKER_12: One amplifier.
- 19:16SPEAKER_05: And a man who changed everything.
- 19:19SPEAKER_13: His name was Jimi Hendrix.
- 19:24SPEAKER_05: Jimi Hendrix, Rhythm running through a stole.
- 20:10SPEAKER_06: One touch of those six strings.
- 20:19SPEAKER_13: When that legendary smile came to the hands.
- 21:39SPEAKER_13: But hold on.
- 21:41SPEAKER_12: We've been singing long enough.
- 21:51SPEAKER_13: Go crazy.
- 23:00SPEAKER_05: There was only one.
- 24:08SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm talking about.
- 24:13SPEAKER_07: Dimple's name.
- 24:16SPEAKER_05: There was only one.
- 24:18SPEAKER_13: Jimi Hendrix.
- 24:20SPEAKER_05: Jimmy.
- 24:21SPEAKER_13: The music.
- 24:22SPEAKER_05: The legend.
- 24:23SPEAKER_13: And yes.
- 24:24SPEAKER_05: The temple.
- 24:25unknown: The dimple.
- 24:32unknown: The temple.
- 24:39SPEAKER_08: Alright, Dimple's Nation.
- 24:41SPEAKER_09: Dimple Suave and the Dimplettes.
- 24:43SPEAKER_09: I told them to let that electric guitar go crazy.
- 24:46SPEAKER_09: And apparently they understood the assignment.
- 24:49SPEAKER_09: Once again, we salute the legendary Jimi Hendrix.
- 24:54SPEAKER_09: The music, the innovation, the influence, and yes, the dimple.
- 25:00SPEAKER_09: But now it's time to put the guitar down and pick up something completely different.
- 25:05SPEAKER_09: A contract.
- 25:06SPEAKER_09: Because we're going from a man who knew his way around six strings to a woman who knows her way around seven, eight, and nine figures.
- 25:15SPEAKER_09: It's time for the dimple drop.
- 25:18SPEAKER_09: And today's dimple drop belongs to one of the most powerful agents in professional sports.
- 25:23SPEAKER_09: Her name is Nicole Lynn.
- 25:26SPEAKER_09: Dimple's Nation.
- 25:27SPEAKER_09: If you follow the NFL, you may know the players.
- 25:30SPEAKER_09: Jalen Hurts, Miles Garrett, Quinnen Williams, Bijan Robison, big names, big talent.
- 25:39SPEAKER_09: And behind some of those careers and contracts is a woman who's built quite a resume of her own, Nicole Lynn.
- 25:46SPEAKER_09: And of course, you know why she landed on my dimple radar.
- 25:50SPEAKER_09: Nicole has dimples.
- 25:52SPEAKER_09: But trust me, the dimples might get you onto my radar.
- 25:55SPEAKER_09: The resume gets you the dimple drop.
- 25:59SPEAKER_09: Nicole's journey didn't begin by sitting across the table from NFL executives negotiating multimillion dollar contracts.
- 26:06SPEAKER_09: She studied business at the University of Oklahoma, worked on Wall Street at Morgan Stanley, earned her series 7 and 63 licenses, and later returned to the University of Oklahoma for law school.
- 26:17SPEAKER_09: Now when I read that part of Nicole's story, I had to stop for a second because Nicole and I actually have a few things in common.
- 26:26SPEAKER_09: She started out on Wall Street.
- 26:28SPEAKER_09: I started out on Wall Street with Mamie Brothers.
- 26:31SPEAKER_09: Nicole had her series 7 and 63.
- 26:34SPEAKER_09: Still do probably.
- 26:36SPEAKER_09: Well, yours truly had the series 7, 63, and Series 65.
- 26:41SPEAKER_09: I wanted to be a sports agent.
- 26:43SPEAKER_09: She is a sports agent.
- 26:45SPEAKER_09: So, Nicole, I see you.
- 26:48SPEAKER_09: Of course, somewhere along the way, our career paths took a little bit of a different turn.
- 26:54SPEAKER_09: Nicole went from Wall Street to law school and eventually became a powerhouse sports agent, negotiating multi-million dollar NFL contracts.
- 27:02SPEAKER_09: And me?
- 27:04SPEAKER_09: Well, it's not that bad.
- 27:06SPEAKER_09: I mean, I am the founder of National Dimples Day.
- 27:18SPEAKER_09: Thank you.
- 27:19SPEAKER_09: I needed that.
- 27:23SPEAKER_09: But seriously, that's one of the reasons I found Nicole's story so interesting.
- 27:28SPEAKER_09: Nicole became an NFLPA certified agent in 2015, and from there, she began making history.
- 27:35SPEAKER_09: And in 2019, she represented defensive tackle Quinny Williams, who was selected third overall by the New York Jets, making him the highest NFL draft pick represented by black women at that time.
- 27:49SPEAKER_09: Now, Nicole Lynn wasn't finished.
- 27:51SPEAKER_09: She eventually became the agent for quarterback Jalen Hurts.
- 27:55SPEAKER_09: You know Jalen Hurts, cheek dimples, one of the three dimpled Super Bowl MVPs in a row.
- 28:01SPEAKER_09: Now, in 2023, she negotiated his five-year$255 million contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 28:10SPEAKER_09: A deal that, when it was signed, made Hurts the highest paid player in the NFL on an average annual basis.
- 28:18SPEAKER_09: Now, that's what I call negotiating.
- 28:29SPEAKER_09: If Nicole Lynn ever calls me and says, Graceful, I think we can get you a better podcast contract.
- 28:35SPEAKER_09: Trust me, I am not arguing.
- 28:38SPEAKER_09: I'm just asking, where do I sign?
- 28:41SPEAKER_09: Today, Nicole is president of football at Clutch Sports Group, and her client roster has included some serious NFL star power.
- 28:48SPEAKER_09: But there's another part of Nicole's story that I really like.
- 28:52SPEAKER_09: She's talked about preparing players for life beyond football, including financial literacy and everyday professional skills.
- 28:58SPEAKER_09: And on top of that, she took some of those lessons beyond the locker room and put them into a book.
- 29:04SPEAKER_09: It's called Agent You.
- 29:07SPEAKER_09: Show up, do the work, and succeed on your own terms.
- 29:11SPEAKER_09: I love that title.
- 29:13SPEAKER_09: So, Nicole Lynn, attorney, businesswoman, author, history maker, super agent, and yes, dimpled.
- 29:23SPEAKER_09: You officially been dimpled dropped.
- 29:26SPEAKER_09: We will be right back.
- 29:34SPEAKER_15: Oh darling, when you smile at me, there's a magic in the air, those little dimples on your cheeks I could follow anywhere that sweet left chin how it steals the midnight life.
- 30:17SPEAKER_15: Temple me, darling, temple me true, every little curve just pulls me to July ninth we celebrate National Timples Day, so don't be late before the night.
- 31:48SPEAKER_09: So I think we've earned ourselves a little halftime, and you know what halftime means around here.
- 31:53SPEAKER_09: We're slowing things down, turning down the amplifier, and trading in contracts and guitars for a few carefully chosen words.
- 32:02SPEAKER_09: It's poetry time with Dimple Versus.
- 32:15SPEAKER_03: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the show.
- 32:20SPEAKER_03: Now it's Dimple Versus, let the good vibes flow with graceful Granny on the mic so steady from the dimple report and the poetry's dimple reddy.
- 32:42SPEAKER_09: Dimple's Nation, let me grab my shades.
- 32:53SPEAKER_09: Six strings caught fire beneath Jimmy's command.
- 32:58SPEAKER_09: A dimple appeared as the world watched the man.
- 33:02SPEAKER_09: Though the final note faded, his music lives on, an electric smile, and a legend never gone.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: Yum yummy yummy bugs, you're loaded, one bim bug, baby load, little bim bug, you bid them, good.
- 34:52SPEAKER_09: Find that comfortable spot on the couch.
- 34:54SPEAKER_09: It is time for film and TV, Dimplified.
- 35:11SPEAKER_09: Dimples Nation, this week, with the passing of the legendary Dolly Parton, I didn't have to think very hard about my selection.
- 35:18SPEAKER_09: We're going back to a classic, a movie with laughs, a little workplace revenge, an unforgettable song, and of course, one very recognizable dimpled smile.
- 35:30SPEAKER_09: My selection this week is 9-to-5.
- 35:33SPEAKER_09: Released in 1980, 9-5 stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomblin, and our very own dimpled legend, Dolly Parton, in our featured film debut in Dimples Nation.
- 35:43SPEAKER_09: What a way to make an entrance.
- 35:45SPEAKER_09: Dolly plays Dora Lee Rhodes, one of the three working women dealing with their absolutely unbearable boss, played by Dabney Coleman.
- 35:54SPEAKER_09: And let's just say these ladies eventually decide they have had enough.
- 35:59SPEAKER_09: If you ever had a boss who made you look at the clock at 901 in the morning and think, how is this not 5 o'clock yet?
- 36:07SPEAKER_09: This movie might be for you.
- 36:10SPEAKER_09: It's funny, it's smart, and underneath all those laughs was a message about the treatment of women in the workplace to help make the movie much more than just a comedy.
- 36:22SPEAKER_09: And well, then there's that song.
- 36:24SPEAKER_09: Dolly wrote and recorded 9 to 5 for the movie, and it became one of her signature songs of her career.
- 36:30SPEAKER_09: So this week, I'm recommending 9 to 5, not only because it's a classic, but as another opportunity for us to remember Dolly doing what Dolly did so well, making us laugh, making us sing, making us smile, and of course, showing off those famous cheek dimples along the way.
- 36:48SPEAKER_09: Dolly, once again, from Grace for Grady, the Dimple Report, National Dimples Day, and all of Dimples Nation, including my lovely mother.
- 36:59SPEAKER_09: Thank you for the memories.
- 37:01SPEAKER_09: 9 to 5, you've officially been Dimplified.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: We will be right back after a word from our sponsor.

- 37:44SPEAKER_09: But put that popcorn down because it's time to head outside.
- 37:47SPEAKER_09: Grab the clubs, find the golf balls, and somebody, bring me my green jacket.
- 37:52SPEAKER_09: Because it's time for everyone's favorite, my fantasy dimpled draft team.
- 37:58SPEAKER_09: And I'm telling you right now, this week's pick was tough.
- 38:02SPEAKER_09: Why?
- 38:03SPEAKER_09: Because apparently professional golf has been taken over by the Dimples Nation.
- 38:08SPEAKER_09: Consider this: the last three Masters champions all belong to Dimples Nation.
- 38:14SPEAKER_09: To 2024, Scotty Scheffler, Dimples, 2025, Roy McElroy, Colef Chen, 2026, Roy said, hell, I'll take another one.
- 38:25SPEAKER_09: Back-to-back Masters Championship for Roy McElroy.
- 38:28SPEAKER_09: So now we're heading into the 2026 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club right here in Atlanta.
- 38:36SPEAKER_09: I have a problem.
- 38:37SPEAKER_09: Scotty, Roy, Scotty, Rory, Dimple's Nation.
- 38:41SPEAKER_09: This is like asking me to choose my favorite dimple.
- 38:44SPEAKER_09: Either way, I can't lose.
- 38:46SPEAKER_09: But the Fantasy Dimple Drafty rules demand a decision.
- 38:50SPEAKER_09: And I've made mine.
- 38:52SPEAKER_09: But the first pick in this week's completely unofficial, highly prestigious, scientifically questionable dimple report fantasy draft, I select.
- 39:07SPEAKER_09: Scotty Scheffler.
- 39:08SPEAKER_09: Scotty enters East League at the top of the FedEx Cup standings, and everybody starts at the tour championship at even par this year.
- 39:16SPEAKER_09: 30 golfers, four rounds, and one champion.
- 39:20SPEAKER_09: So, Scotty, you're carrying the Dimple Report scorecard this week.
- 39:24SPEAKER_09: Rory, don't worry, you're still in the family.
- 39:27SPEAKER_09: I've decided to add a little incentive.
- 39:30SPEAKER_09: Whoever wins this tour championship, Scotty, Rory, or anybody else from the Dimples Nation, you officially have an invitation to play in the future Dimples Open.
- 39:40SPEAKER_09: So there it is, my fantasy Dempo Draftee for the 2026 Tour Championship, Scotty Scheffler.
- 39:48SPEAKER_09: We will be right back after a word from our sponsor.
