Transcript
- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, Demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam Smith in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi, it's Adam here. Now I work with people a lot and
- 0:43I would say that the two habits or addictions, I work more than.
- 0:47Any other? Are cocaine and alcohol and this
- 0:49is an alcohol hypnosis session really to take on the identity
- 0:54of a non drinker. Now some people just want to
- 0:58moderate drinking, they want to reduce the amount they drink.
- 1:01Other people, they want to be like I am teetotal, They don't
- 1:05want to drink any alcohol whatsoever.
- 1:07And personally, I can only vouch for myself that my life has
- 1:11improved dramatically in the seven or eight years that I
- 1:15haven't touched a drop of alcohol.
- 1:18I used to use it if I was stressed or anxious or just
- 1:21bored or socializing. Use it for social confidence.
- 1:25And when you? Shut that door.
- 1:27When you don't use it under those circumstances, you end up
- 1:30developing all these other coping strategies that mean that
- 1:34you don't need to be dependent on alcohol, you don't need to
- 1:37use that crutch. So if you like the idea of
- 1:40completely changing your relationship with alcohol and
- 1:43being a non drinker, a non drinker is someone that doesn't
- 1:46drink alcohol, you might get some real value from this
- 1:50session. Now it was created for an
- 1:53individual. Therefore, some of the
- 1:54suggestions and metaphors would be right for them, not quite
- 1:57right for you. So therefore, if you like the
- 2:00idea of something crafted and bespoke specifically for you,
- 2:04have a look at the description. There's a suitability test that
- 2:08takes 60 seconds, but there's also resources for you to figure
- 2:12out if hypnotherapy would be useful, including a webinar that
- 2:15I've recently created, so check those.
- 2:18Out for now. Though find a quiet, comfortable
- 2:21place where you won't be distracted or disturbed.
- 2:24Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep.
- 2:44Breath in. And as you breathe in, breathe
- 2:49in that resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 2:54And as you exhale, give permission to release.
- 3:01Allow any feelings of tension, stress, and worry to gradually
- 3:06and incrementally feel like it's leaving your body in every
- 3:11outward breath. That's it.
- 3:15Breathing and relaxation, exhaling tension.
- 3:22And just do a quick mental scan of your body because sometimes
- 3:27tension is hiding in the jaw, in the forehead, and echo the
- 3:34shoulders. But every time you find some
- 3:38tension, set the intention to release it.
- 3:47Because when you breathe in slightly deeper and you exhale,
- 3:53swipe slightly longer, you switch to a different part of
- 3:58your nervous system, that rest and digest part that already
- 4:05knows how to deeply relax now breathing in for deeper,
- 4:12exhaling for longer. That's it.
- 4:15And if you can find tension in your jaw, just imagine it
- 4:22melting away like an ice cube in the sunshine and release it in
- 4:29your outward breath, eyelids feeling heavier.
- 4:35That's it. Even your forehead, those tiny
- 4:40muscles responsible for expressions like surprise or
- 4:43concern, give permission to release all of those muscles so
- 4:51there's a heavy, droopy sensation in your face and that
- 4:55ripples down, down into your neck, your shoulders, your arms.
- 5:04And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 5:11And the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe.
- 5:15And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 5:21And I want you to imagine an out of body experience.
- 5:25Allow your physical body to remain where it is and allow
- 5:30your imagination to float up out of your body and head towards a
- 5:35beach of golden sands, calm still, clear waters, maybe a
- 5:42nearby bridge, and just imagine what it would be to be there on
- 5:48that beach. And maybe you could imagine a
- 5:53chair, not a beach chair, but the kind of chair that you
- 5:58wouldn't find in a beach, a comfortable reclining chair.
- 6:04And just imagine it's there on the beach.
- 6:08Imagine lying in that chair, a gentle breeze, focusing on the
- 6:14stillness of the water. And there would have been times
- 6:19where that water was choppy if there was a storm or big winds.
- 6:27But right now it's calm. And as you focus on the calm
- 6:31Stillwater, imagine your mind synchronising with that
- 6:40stillness and calmness. Almost like you're teaching your
- 6:48mind to relax, to be still, To be clear, that's it.
- 6:55And as I countdown from 5 to 1, I want you to imagine sinking
- 7:03deeper into the chair, so relaxed you could imagine
- 7:09drifting off into a dreamlike sleep.
- 7:11There on that beach, in that chair by the Stillwater. 5 all
- 7:19the muscles in your face relax now.
- 7:23Four, feel a wave of relaxation down from your shoulders, down
- 7:30your arms, to the tips of your fingers.
- 7:34Let's sit. As five becomes 4, just feel the
- 7:36heaviness of those arms. 3 Imagine all of your internal
- 7:43organs relaxing at exactly the same time.
- 7:46Your heart, your stomach, your lungs, even your intestines,
- 7:50everything relaxing. As four becomes three, feel that
- 7:56relaxation. And as three becomes 2, feel it
- 7:58going down your legs as you start to imagine your arms and
- 8:04your legs like the limbs of a puppet with no strings.
- 8:08Limp, loose, relaxed one down into your toes and then rippling
- 8:13back up to the top of your head and back down to your fingertips
- 8:17as you feel a wonderful feeling. Well, there's nothing you need
- 8:22to do. You just allow your mind to
- 8:27create new connections, new ideas.
- 8:34Change is inevitable. You don't wear the same clothes
- 8:38you wore 10 years ago. You listen to different music.
- 8:44There's foods you eat now that you didn't eat before.
- 8:47Change is constant. And what if there's just one
- 8:52more change, A change That's the first domino of a sequence.
- 8:58And by making that one change, it stops a chain reaction of
- 9:04destructive behaviours of regret.
- 9:09And rather than needing to change everything, what if we
- 9:13just focus on that first domino? Then you might find sometimes
- 9:21when you resolve 1 issue, many other issues get resolved simply
- 9:28because they weren't the issue, they were just in that chain
- 9:32reaction. If your unconscious feels ready
- 9:37to make a change, a positive change, let me know about
- 9:40nodding your head. That's it.
- 9:44And in doing so, allow your body to go even deeper.
- 9:50Relaxed. Now that's it.
- 9:58Breathing and relaxation, exhaling tension.
- 10:07And I want you to get a sense, a sense of regaining control.
- 10:16With each breath, you may begin to notice a growing sense of
- 10:21command over your body, your thoughts, your choices, as if
- 10:27control is something you already have.
- 10:32What if you're just accessing it more deliberately now?
- 10:38And as you go deeper, you can evaluate that there isn't just
- 10:43one version of you. You have a different voice if
- 10:50you speak to fluffy animals or small children.
- 10:55You have different body language and posture if you're training
- 11:01than if you're socializing. And there's the version of you
- 11:06that followed patterns, predictable, automatic, and
- 11:10familiar. There is that version of you
- 11:14that starts with a drink and you already know where it leads.
- 11:21Not exciting, not rebellious, just repetitive.
- 11:29Part of you, deep down knows that the idea is better than the
- 11:34reality. But there's that other version
- 11:39of you that is calm, clear, and in control.
- 11:44Not reacting, not pulled, not dependent.
- 11:48The version of you that chooses. The version of you that is in
- 11:54control and decides. And what if you start to see
- 12:03something clearly now? That alcohol was never just a
- 12:10decision, It was always the first domino, the quiet
- 12:17beginning of losing control. You could be in charge of that
- 12:23first domino, the 7th, 8th or 9th.
- 12:28That just happens almost all by itself, like the train is in
- 12:34motion and the brakes don't work anymore. start to fall, that
- 12:45wasn't freedom. That was less freedom.
- 12:52The inevitability told you you weren't in control.
- 12:58You may have felt powerful, certain in an argument, in a
- 13:04moment of intensity, but in reality it was less power.
- 13:14And I want you to find that part within you that recognizes that
- 13:17now, that you were never someone who lacked control.
- 13:24You were just a person that temporarily handed it away, and
- 13:31when that control came back, you were left with the regret, the
- 13:35guilt, the frustration, the aftermath.
- 13:43What if now you simply decide not to hand that control away?
- 13:52There's a part within you, a strong part.
- 13:56I never liked being told what to do.
- 14:01A defiant, rebellious part. And maybe in the past that
- 14:09energy pushed you towards things.
- 14:13But what if we can harness that power within you?
- 14:18Turn that same energy in a different direction?
- 14:24It takes courage to do the opposite of what most people do.
- 14:31Most people drink. It takes someone to be defiant,
- 14:36to choose not to. Most people are sheep following
- 14:42their herd to stand out. To do the opposite, to move in a
- 14:51different direction, that requires real courage.
- 15:01How rebellious are you if you're doing what everyone else does,
- 15:07allow that part. That part that doesn't like to
- 15:10follow patterns, that doesn't like to do what everyone else
- 15:13does. That part that doesn't need what
- 15:19others depend on to embrace. Embrace your uniqueness.
- 15:31The person that can't be triggered into drinking again,
- 15:35can't be pressured, cajoled, influenced.
- 15:43That is someone mentally strong, a version of you that doesn't
- 15:50need to escape reality. You master reality.
- 15:57And I want you to imagine somewhere on that beach there's
- 16:03a swirling vortex, a wormhole to a different dimension.
- 16:09And just imagine a dream within a dream floating through that
- 16:12vortex to a version of you in a parallel life.
- 16:20That version of you that over a year ago made the decision to
- 16:25stop drinking, but in that reality, you never started
- 16:31drinking again. Maybe it's been 12/13/14,
- 16:39fifteen months or more. In that parallel universe, an
- 16:45identity already exists where you don't drink and never will.
- 16:52That version of you figured out something that you're on the
- 16:54verge of figuring out too. So let's visit that other
- 17:00version of you. There's an invisible spy.
- 17:13See what you do when you go away working for a few days In
- 17:18return, See what you do when you're meeting up with friends.
- 17:27See what that version of you does.
- 17:30If there's strong emotional triggers like anger,
- 17:35frustration, annoyance, sadness, that version of you doesn't
- 17:42drink, even if in the past those triggers would have triggered
- 17:47you to do so. And as you see that version of
- 17:53you, notice how they carry themselves, how they walk into
- 17:59rooms, calm, certain, unbothered.
- 18:03A version of you that follows your own path can't be tricked
- 18:12into triggered and doing something that deep down you
- 18:17don't want to do. That version of you has no
- 18:22internal negotiation, no debate, no resistance.
- 18:33And I want you to imagine seeing that version of you that already
- 18:39doesn't drink handle the situations that you're most
- 18:43worried about. That could be a trigger to get
- 18:48you drinking again. Maybe see a parent complimenting
- 18:55that version of them, of how much better they are now, how
- 19:01much more stable that they're proud of them, and see that
- 19:05version of them thanking them, taking the compliment.
- 19:16Or maybe a situation where there is some social pressure or
- 19:24expectation to drink and see how that version of you that hasn't
- 19:29drunk for more than a year handles that exact situation.
- 19:36That version of you is immune, is protected and then just get
- 19:46closer still invisible. Really observe their life.
- 19:54How is their life better when alcohol and all of the things in
- 19:59that chain reaction of dominoes Isn't there more time, more
- 20:06money, more clarity, more control, less shame, less
- 20:14frustration? I want you to consider.
- 20:19Alcohol and everything that it led to, It's heavy baggage,
- 20:27heavy weights weighing you down, stopping you from truly
- 20:34accessing your potential. If a marathon runner trying to
- 20:42run a marathon holding two big heavy bags, they may finish in,
- 20:49but they would have been impeded that whole time.
- 20:53I want you to see a version of you that has let go of all of
- 20:59those things holding you back. Maybe there's more success, more
- 21:06freedom with all the additional money.
- 21:10Maybe it's been invested. Maybe it buys you time, freedom,
- 21:15adventures that give you real experiences, real joy.
- 21:27Some people make a decision in life to find the natural eyes,
- 21:33the dopamine that comes from accomplishment, the emotional
- 21:37roller coaster of taking a risk, going on an adventure,
- 21:43challenging themselves to achieve a new goal.
- 21:48And that version of you doesn't need gambling, drugs, or
- 21:53alcohol. It's not needed.
- 22:00And I want you to see that version of you through the lens
- 22:04of respect, pride, and admiration.
- 22:09This isn't someone else. This is you.
- 22:13This is already what you're capable of, and the more the
- 22:17proud you are of that version of you, the more you admire how
- 22:22they're living their life, the more you unlock whatever is
- 22:30impeding you to already become that person.
- 22:38Maybe their friendships are more real.
- 22:44Maybe there is when you level of ideas inside creativity,
- 22:51inspiration comes because there isn't that fogginess that
- 22:56follows a day or two of heavy drinking.
- 23:01They're relaxed, present and sharp, and that's the opposite
- 23:06of feeling blunted. That's it.
- 23:12Just observe that version of you version of you that doesn't need
- 23:17or want a drink. And as you observe, you realise
- 23:27you fully understand that that version of you is indifferent.
- 23:32They just made one clean decision and followed it through
- 23:35until it became a part of who they are, not what they do.
- 23:39And I want you to step into that version of you.
- 23:50See through their eyes, feel what they feel.
- 23:54That calm certainty, that quiet confidence, a real sense of this
- 24:04is just who I am. And that version of you doesn't
- 24:11even like the idea of drinking because you know it's fake.
- 24:18The idea never lived up to the reality.
- 24:24And as that identity settles in, you realise something powerful.
- 24:32You're not becoming this person. You already are this person.
- 24:41This is simply the version of you that doesn't compromise.
- 24:51And what if your mind accepts fully, completely, that your
- 24:56last drink was your last drink? Not because you can't, but
- 25:05because you don't, Because it's no longer aligned with who you
- 25:11really are. I want you to return back
- 25:18through the vortex, back to your reality, but keep this identity
- 25:23with you and imagine what your future looks like.
- 25:30Imagine a situation where before you might have had a drink, but
- 25:35now you don't and notice there's no tension, no effort, just a
- 25:42simple and neutral thought. That's not what I do at work,
- 25:51travelling, social settings, even on holidays.
- 25:57You're the same person, clear, grounded in control, and others
- 26:07may notice something different in you.
- 26:10Not forced and not explained. A need for explanation is just
- 26:16obvious. And in that future, I wonder if
- 26:22you can imagine those people who thought you'd always go back.
- 26:28Maybe there's phrases. Phrases that link to someone
- 26:33that needs a drink, needs to use and drugs.
- 26:42I want you to think of the faces of people that don't believe you
- 26:47can be the very best version of you.
- 26:50And you don't need to argue with them.
- 26:58You don't need to convince them. Your identity, your decisions,
- 27:08the way you just live differently
- 27:30And you don't have to wait for that big moment.
- 27:34You don't even need them to notice.
- 27:37It's just over time, your results, your discipline, your
- 27:40control become the proof that you are someone different.
- 27:49And as alcohol disappears, something else expands.
- 27:57Imagine a future with more time, more focus, more energy
- 28:07channelled into things that actually build something.
- 28:13Your health, your body, your energy improve your discipline,
- 28:18your financial strength, your independence.
- 28:25You can't remove something without replacing it.
- 28:29And what if what replaces it is far more powerful?
- 28:35You've been doing things to dilute your potential, not
- 28:39amplify it. And when that changes, life gets
- 28:46better. And I want you to connect
- 28:52without calm certainty within you that this isn't temporary,
- 28:58this is an effort. This is identity, and I want you
- 29:06to ask all parts within your subconscious if they're willing
- 29:13to embrace and accept this new identity, that this is simply
- 29:20who you are and if all parts are willing to acknowledge, accept,
- 29:26and integrate. Let me know by nodding your head
- 29:32and you're already this person. Your last drink was your last
- 29:37drink. Nobody knows.
- 29:41You don't need to tell them. Let them figure it out.
- 29:46And when they figure it out, that identity is simply not
- 29:54wanting to choose to go back to the weaker, less in control
- 30:03dependent, easily triggered version of you.
- 30:08Why would it would? You've experienced something
- 30:12better. It doesn't make sense to choose
- 30:16something worse. Float back into that chair.
- 30:23They're on the beach. Leave the chair.
- 30:27Imagine floating upwards into the sky and floating all the way
- 30:33back into your physical body. Now take a deep breath in
- 30:39through your nose and out through your nose and wiggle
- 30:44your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 30:45Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 30:50from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken. Fully awaken the evolved
- 30:57identity within you. Starting to count 123 Waking up
- 31:03456. More alert 7-8.
- 31:07Open your eyes. Open your eyes, 910.
- 31:11Wide awake, Wide awake, wide awake.
