- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, well, things are very well underway in DC,
- 0:04Speaker 1: and I'm going to do this in three parts. Now,
- 0:07Speaker 1: this is the second part of the day. It's where
- 0:09Speaker 1: they actually met with each other, all the leaders at
- 0:12Speaker 1: the White House in quite an incredible moment. And I
- 0:17Speaker 1: wanted to play a little bit of what that roundtable
- 0:20Speaker 1: sounded like, as they are in fact working for peace
- 0:24Speaker 1: for Ukraine and an end to the UK and Russia war.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And I want to have some of that coverage for
- 0:30Speaker 1: you here on Alex Garrett's One Leg Network.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Mister President Donald, many thanks for having us today. I
- 0:36Speaker 2: think this is extremely helpful that we are meeting and
- 0:41Speaker 2: hearing that the two of you are having such a
- 0:45Speaker 2: good meeting today here in Washington. The next steps ahead,
- 0:50Speaker 2: the more complicated ones. Now the path is open. You
- 0:54Speaker 2: opened it last Friday, but now the way is open
- 0:58Speaker 2: for complicated English. And to be honest, we all would
- 1:03Speaker 2: like to see a cease fire and the latest from
- 1:07Speaker 2: the next meeting on I can't imagine that the next
- 1:11Speaker 2: meeting would took place without a ceasefire. So let's work
- 1:16Speaker 2: on that and let's try to put pressure on Russia.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Because the credibility of this efforts, these efforts we are
- 1:22Speaker 2: undertaking today are depending on at least a ceasefire from
- 1:27Speaker 2: the beginning of the serious negotiations from next step on.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So I would like to emphasize this aspect and would
- 1:35Speaker 2: like to see a ceasefire from the next meeting, which
- 1:39Speaker 2: should be a triateral meeting wherever it takes place.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Well, we're going to let the President go over and
- 1:46Speaker 3: talk to the president and we'll see how that works out.
- 1:50Speaker 3: And if we can do that, I will say and
- 1:52Speaker 3: again I say it, in the six wars that I've settled,
- 1:56Speaker 3: I haven't had a ceasefire. We just got into negotiation
- 2:00Speaker 3: and they one of the wars was as you know,
- 2:03Speaker 3: and the Congo was thirty years thirty one years long.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Another one that we settled last week with two great
- 2:10Speaker 3: countries was thirty five years going on. We had no ceasfire.
- 2:13Speaker 3: So if we can do the seas fire, great, and
- 2:17Speaker 3: if we don't do the cease fire, because many other
- 2:19Speaker 3: points were given to us, many many points were given
- 2:22Speaker 3: to us, great points. Please Georgia go ahead.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Well, thank you very much, Donald, mister President for hosting
- 2:29Speaker 4: us today in this important meeting, and I think it
- 2:33Speaker 4: is an important day, a new phase after three years
- 2:37Speaker 4: and half that we didn't see any kind of sign
- 2:41Speaker 4: from the Russian side that there was a willing for dialogue.
- 2:45Speaker 4: So something is changing. Something has changed thanks to you,
- 2:50Speaker 4: thanks also to the starting in the battlefield, which was
- 2:54Speaker 4: achieved with the bravery of Ukrainians and with the unity
- 2:59Speaker 4: that we all divided to Ukraine. And the reason why
- 3:02Speaker 4: I mentioned it is that we also have to remind
- 3:06Speaker 4: that if we want to reach peace and if we
- 3:08Speaker 4: want to guarantee justice, we have to do it united.
- 3:13Speaker 4: So that's why it's a very good day, the one
- 3:18Speaker 4: we are in. You can obviously count to Italy as
- 3:21Speaker 4: it was from the beginning. We are on the side
- 3:23Speaker 4: of Ukraine and we do absolutely support your efforts towards peace.
- 3:31Speaker 1: We will talk.
- 3:32Speaker 4: About many important topics. The first one is security guarantees,
- 3:38Speaker 4: how to be sure that it won't happen again, which
- 3:41Speaker 4: is the precondition of every kind of peace. I'm happy
- 3:45Speaker 4: that we will discuss about that. I'm happy that we
- 3:47Speaker 4: will begin from a proposal, which is the let's say
- 3:50Speaker 4: Article five model, which was Italian at the beginning. So
- 3:57Speaker 4: we are always ready to bring our proposals for peace
- 4:01Speaker 4: for dialogue. It's something we have to build together to
- 4:05Speaker 4: guarantee peace and to defend the security of our nation soul.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Thank you their president for hosting us.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Thank you very much, Emmanuel.
- 4:15Speaker 5: Thank you mister President for organizing this this meeting and
- 4:19Speaker 5: for your commitment and everything was said, but I have
- 4:23Speaker 5: to I just have to say here everybody around this
- 4:27Speaker 5: table is in favor of peace, and we work very hard,
- 4:32Speaker 5: and we've worked very hard during the past few years
- 4:34Speaker 5: to have a piece which is a robust and long
- 4:38Speaker 5: standing piece. This is why the idea of a high
- 4:42Speaker 5: lateral meeting is very important, because this is the only
- 4:45Speaker 5: way to fix it. And by the way, I think
- 4:48Speaker 5: as a follow up, we would need probably a quadrilateral
- 4:50Speaker 5: meeting because when we speak about security guarantees, we speak
- 4:54Speaker 5: about the whole security of the European continents. And this
- 4:57Speaker 5: is why we are all united here with the recurre
- 5:00Speaker 5: and on this on this matter.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Marquess head of NATAL, maybe you could say a few words.
- 5:04Speaker 6: Yes, I will be very brief. I really want to
- 5:07Speaker 6: thank you President of the United States there Donald, for
- 5:10Speaker 6: the fact that you, as I said before, broke the
- 5:12Speaker 6: deadlock basically with the President Putins best starting that dialogue,
- 5:16Speaker 6: and I think it was a February that you had
- 5:18Speaker 6: the first a phone call and from there we are
- 5:21Speaker 6: now very are today and that is I think if
- 5:25Speaker 6: we play this well, we could end this. And we
- 5:27Speaker 6: have to end this. We have to stop the killing,
- 5:29Speaker 6: we have to stop the destruction of Ukraine's infrastructure. It's
- 5:33Speaker 6: a terrible wore. So I'm really excited and let's make
- 5:37Speaker 6: the best out of today and make sure that from
- 5:40Speaker 6: today onwards we get this thing to an end as
- 5:42Speaker 6: soon as possible. I really want to thank you for
- 5:44Speaker 6: your leadership, what you were doing for low of me,
- 5:47Speaker 6: but of course also all the European colleagues. It is
- 5:49Speaker 6: really crucial and the fact that you have said I'm
- 5:52Speaker 6: willing to participate in security guarantees is a big step.
- 5:56Speaker 6: It's really a breakthrough and it makes all the difference. Also,
- 6:00Speaker 6: thank you for that.
- 6:01Speaker 7: It can be historic le for the people to bring
- 6:06Speaker 7: kids back to the families and be happy the people.
- 6:12Speaker 7: This is so so important and I'm happy that we
- 6:14Speaker 7: discussed it this trap with the President Trump, and I
- 6:18Speaker 7: hope that we will find decisions and then what is
- 6:23Speaker 7: very important that all the sensitive things territorial and et cetera,
- 6:28Speaker 7: we we will discuss on the level of leaders during
- 6:32Speaker 7: trilateral meeting, and President Trump will try to organize such meeting,
- 6:38Speaker 7: and he said that he will come or not come.
- 6:42Speaker 7: Ukraine will be happy if if you if.
- 6:44Speaker 6: You, if you will won't be there. I will be there.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, thank you, And I.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Think this is very important. We have such peig unity today.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Thank you, mister. I think you'll say that President put
- 6:57Speaker 3: really would like to do something else. I think when
- 6:59Speaker 3: we set that up, when we do, I think it's
- 7:03Speaker 3: going to be when not if. I think you're going
- 7:05Speaker 3: to see some very really positive moves. I know there's
- 7:10Speaker 3: over a thousand prisoners, and I know they're going to
- 7:12Speaker 3: release them. Maybe they're going to release them very soon,
- 7:15Speaker 3: like immediately, which I think is great. But we will.
- 7:20Speaker 3: We're going to set that up today after this meeting.
- 7:23Speaker 3: So very good and great remarks. I appreciate it.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Some of the sights and sounds of today's historic summit
- 7:30Speaker 1: at the White House. We'll come back with a recap
- 7:33Speaker 1: of it all later today. We will keep you posted
- 7:36Speaker 1: on everything going on, as there could be peace by
- 7:39Speaker 1: the end of today and an end of the Ukraine
- 7:42Speaker 1: Russia War. Stay with us here for more updates through
- 7:45Speaker 1: the day,
