- 0:02Hello, welcome to He's hot, but something is off.
- 0:07If you frequent the video version of this podcast, which
- 0:11is available on my YouTube channel, just Joey T, you will
- 0:15notice it's not really a video version of the podcast this
- 0:18week. And you know, when I started
- 0:21this podcast, I thought because I make so many videos or YouTube
- 0:28videos, I thought the podcast is going to be great because I get
- 0:33to talk and I don't need to do video because most podcasts are
- 0:37just audio. Most podcasts are not video.
- 0:41And I got it into my head that, well, it's not that hard to just
- 0:46throw a video camera. Just turn the video camera on.
- 0:50I don't need to glam myself up for a video podcast, you know,
- 0:55it's not really that much work. And I'm, it's easy for me to
- 0:59just like hit record on the camera and it just it like push
- 1:02an extra button or whatever. The end thing is not really that
- 1:06much more work either technically.
- 1:08So I decided when I launched a podcast to also do the video
- 1:12version because when I listen to a podcast or it depends on what
- 1:15it is, I do sometimes prefer the option to watch the video
- 1:20version of a podcast. Like some of the ones that I'd
- 1:24like to watch are some of the podcast I listen to that are
- 1:28hosted by drag Queens. Those I like the Formula One
- 1:32podcast I listen to. I really don't, I, the video
- 1:37version would really add anything.
- 1:38But with drag Queens, you know, I, I just love to see like what
- 1:44what, what their make up is like that day, what they're wearing
- 1:47that day, you know, like, because part of drag is like the
- 1:50artistry of it. So even if it's just some drag
- 1:54Queens talking about something like whatever topic, I do
- 1:58sometimes like to just throw it onto my TVI know sometimes the
- 2:05podcast is on YouTube and yeah, just do that.
- 2:09So anyways, I'm not doing the video.
- 2:13I'm staring at my camera. It's not turned on the battery
- 2:16and the memory card is not even in the camera because I just got
- 2:19back from EDC Las Vegas and it's slightly struggle bus right now.
- 2:25So I decided not to do the video version.
- 2:29So if you this is on YouTube, if you're watching on YouTube, you
- 2:31see the jacket cover or like the the podcast graphic, which is
- 2:40actually was drawn by my good friend Jeremy.
- 2:44I had this idea that I didn't really want to use an actual
- 2:47photo of myself for the the art, the cover art of the podcast.
- 2:54And I knew that my friend Jeremy, he had been talking
- 2:58about getting an iPad and wanting to just do drawings and
- 3:02things like that. I don't think he specializes in
- 3:04drawing people, but I asked him if he could just based on a
- 3:10photo, a selfie photo that I had that I gave him, if he could do
- 3:14just some sort of like drawing of it.
- 3:16It doesn't have to be like super.
- 3:19He can do it however he wants. This.
- 3:21I just gave him that artistic freedom because I know he
- 3:25doesn't specialize in drawing people and but I really loved
- 3:29how it turned out. So that was actually based on a
- 3:32bathroom gym selfie I took back in San Francisco quite a few
- 3:35years ago. Anyways, yeah, it's a little
- 3:37struggle Buzz coming back from EDCI am planning for next week's
- 3:44Gay cruise and travel podcast. I will be doing kind of like my
- 3:50just Joey T review of EDC Vegas, kind of sort of the things that
- 3:56I liked and didn't like during EDC.
- 4:00So that will be coming next Monday.
- 4:05But for today, I just want to touch on not like my review, but
- 4:08like just some of the just just some of the, you know, tidbits
- 4:12here and there. Not not like a review.
- 4:14You know, in the review, I'm going to go into some of the
- 4:18things that I think a lot of the attendees could relate to, or
- 4:22maybe it's things that are of interest to people who are
- 4:25interested in going to EDC. But for today's podcast, while
- 4:31I'm on this struggle bus, I'm just going to talk a bit about
- 4:34like, you know, some personal little tidbit stories here and
- 4:37there about EDC. And if you want more of my
- 4:41stories, there's some slightly juicier stories from EDC that
- 4:46I'm going to save for my Patreon subscribers because they get the
- 4:50uncut version of this podcast, an extra episode, weekly episode
- 4:55of the podcast that comes out every weekend.
- 4:57And I'm going to record that on Friday, hopefully in a couple of
- 5:01days from now. I'm recording this on a
- 5:02Wednesday. I'm going to record the uncut
- 5:05version of Friday. And there are a couple of
- 5:09topics, more personal topics that I don't don't feel totally
- 5:17comfortable just posting for the whole entire world to know, but
- 5:22I feel closer to my Patreon subscribers for sure.
- 5:26And I'm going to post some of those stories.
- 5:29I'm going to record a few of those stories for that uncut
- 5:31episode coming this weekend. All right, let's get into it.
- 5:37So I joined the Friends RV and we got actually drove to Vegas.
- 5:44I mentioned this on last week's podcast I believe, and the rope
- 5:47chip was pretty good, no issues. Got there a little ahead of
- 5:51time, met up with the RV and the group was at like a couple of
- 6:00grocery stores just to stock up. That's kind of what you do with
- 6:03an RV. You know, you pick up the RV
- 6:05then you do grocery shopping. So I picked up a few things.
- 6:10I got bags of microwavable rice that are in like the pouches and
- 6:16that turned out to be like the the perfect thing.
- 6:19I bought some sausages, just regular like Wiener hot dog type
- 6:25sausages that you can find in any grocery store.
- 6:28I got frozen carrots and I got some.
- 6:34Yeah. So those are like some of the
- 6:35perishables, like a couple of like some bananas, blueberries,
- 6:38little things like that. So I picked up the perishables
- 6:40before we drove in, after we met up with the RV, but before I
- 6:44actually went to Vegas. Back at home the week before, I
- 6:49had kind of already started grocery shopping for things that
- 6:52were like non perishable. So I got a little those packets
- 6:55of instant oatmeal, for example. I got some of the that special
- 7:00non Dairy Milk that I usually drink.
- 7:01I got some coffee concentrate, concentrated coffee.
- 7:05Apparently it's a thing, which is kind of like the perfect
- 7:08thing to if you want your coffee fix when you're in camp at EDC.
- 7:13And you know, I actually bought a decent amount of groceries
- 7:16because you can't buy food in camp, but the food is very
- 7:20expensive. And I'm going to touch a little
- 7:22bit more on that, you know, in the review on the Gay Cruising
- 7:26Travel podcast next week. But it was great.
- 7:30I knew a couple of the boys that were in the RV.
- 7:33So actually I knew three of the boys that were in our RV.
- 7:38There were seven of us total. There were two bunk beds in this
- 7:42RV, and I got one of the bunks, which actually turned to be like
- 7:45a bit more comfortable than I thought.
- 7:47And I slept pretty well actually on on that bunk.
- 7:50And yeah, we drove in on like Thursday afternoon.
- 7:55We actually got a spot that was furthest, kind of like the
- 7:59furthest corner from the festival entrance.
- 8:02So there's obviously an area where it's all for the campers
- 8:05and you have RV's that camp and they also have a bunch of tents
- 8:08for people that do like the tent camping throughout the
- 8:10campgrounds. In the middle of the campground
- 8:12there is the Mesa, which is kind of sort of like all sorts of
- 8:15like vendors and food hangout spaces.
- 8:19There's like a stage there, things like that.
- 8:23And then on one end of the campgrounds is the entrance to
- 8:27like the actual festival itself. We were on the opposite end.
- 8:31So it was like a little bit of a walk from where our RV was part
- 8:36to where the festival is. It's not like a 20 mile hike or
- 8:39anything like that, you know, it's maybe like, I don't know, a
- 8:44six or seven minute walk from the RV to like the festival
- 8:49entrance. It's not like super far.
- 8:52But the good thing about being at the far end is it was pretty
- 8:56quiet where we were based. You know, like the music from
- 9:00the festival is so loud that if you were parked close to the
- 9:04entrance to the festival on campgrounds, you will hear the
- 9:07music from the festival. And it also meant that I never
- 9:12had to wait for the showers. So we had a rule for RV to that
- 9:17no one was going to do number twos in the RV and no one was
- 9:22going to take a shower there. And I'm not indifferent for
- 9:25that. And I was fine with that.
- 9:26But that what part was pretty good.
- 9:29I, I will say though, just moving on from the RV's and I
- 9:32have to talk more about, again, I'll talk more about like the
- 9:35reveal, like that camping center and all that stuff this week.
- 9:38But moving it on, it was a little, there were a lot of
- 9:43gays. There are a lot of gays that go
- 9:46to EDC most years now. I'm surprised how many gays are
- 9:49gays go there. But it was good.
- 9:51You know, I love to see a whole bunch of gays at things like
- 9:55EDC. And when you go into the crowd,
- 10:00when you approach a stage, you look for the totems.
- 10:03There are a lot of rainbow totems there, which was really,
- 10:07really good to see. I saw a lot of people that I
- 10:12knew. They're not necessarily like
- 10:13friends per SE. They're like party acquaintances
- 10:15or like party friends, people that I predominately see at
- 10:19various festivals and parties or wherever.
- 10:23And we know each other from that, but we don't really like
- 10:26interact or hang out. Otherwise, they're kind of like
- 10:29party, party connections, like party friends kind of a thing.
- 10:34But at one point I was thinking, I think it was like the second I
- 10:38was by the time I was like, I think, I think every, I think
- 10:41all the gays are here. I think all the gays are here
- 10:43because there's so many people that I just saw and recognize.
- 10:48So even if I had not stayed in that RV with, you know, the that
- 10:55group, even if I had got my own hotel, stayed on the strip, took
- 10:58the shuttle in and kind of went solo, it would have been easy
- 11:03for me to just like find various people I knew at various stages
- 11:09at ADC to hang out with. So that was that was good.
- 11:13Had a lot of fun. Most of you probably have a
- 11:17facial cleanser and moisturizer already.
- 11:19So I want to tell you about Shield and Slay DP, which is a
- 11:23anti pollution hydration spray I formulated specifically for my
- 11:26skin care line Surf Labs. This is actually a product I've
- 11:29wanted I've been looking for for years now and haven't been able
- 11:33to find on the market, which is something that was a hydration
- 11:36spray, but also has anti pollution antioxidant properties
- 11:39for your skin. Shoot and Slay DP is the
- 11:41ultimate double protection defense for your skin, teaming
- 11:44up antioxidants, probiotics along with hydrate ingredients
- 11:48defend of environmental stressors and aggressors.
- 11:50You can use it as part of your daily skin care routine, but
- 11:52I've also designed it so you can use it while you're out and
- 11:55about on an airplane or whenever your skin feels dry, dull, or a
- 11:58bit worse for wear. All you have to do is spray it
- 12:01on. Check out Shoot and Slate DP
- 12:03along with the rest of the Serve Labs skin care lineup at Serve
- 12:06Labs dot COSERVELAB s.co, and you can also find us on
- 12:12Instagram and Twitter at Serve Labs.
- 12:17I so there was one thing that I was kind of annoyed at a little
- 12:21bit was because of my IBSI was very careful about what I was
- 12:26going to eat. I did have like Imodium and
- 12:28things like that, but I remember it was like on Friday night and
- 12:33I wasn't and I was walking through the crowd.
- 12:36I was walking through like from one part of the festival to
- 12:39another. And you know, you will
- 12:41eventually pass food places, food vendors.
- 12:44And I remember passing through one place and I was like, it was
- 12:46pizza at first I smelled this smell and I couldn't, no, I
- 12:50didn't know exactly what it is at the right from the get go,
- 12:54but I just knew it smelled fucking delicious.
- 12:58And like a few seconds later I realized, oh, this is pizza.
- 13:02It's like the, it's like the crust, like the breading from
- 13:05the pizza that smells so good. But I can't have pizza.
- 13:09But the dairy makes me break out And then like the, the gluten
- 13:15and the whatever toppings I that would trigger like my IBS.
- 13:19So there were a few times where like there's a smell of
- 13:23delishness of deliciousness in the air and I was like, Oh, I
- 13:28can't eat that. I want to eat that, but I can't
- 13:30eat that. So I mean, that's not, that's
- 13:33not something I in the in the normal everyday.
- 13:36I don't walk by a pizza place. I don't walk by anywhere that
- 13:39smells like super delicious food, but at EDC you'll walk by
- 13:43sometimes like a vendor, like a a food place and it's like, Oh
- 13:47my God, that smells so good. I don't know if they like fan
- 13:49out that smell to like attract people in to spend money or
- 13:52whatever. Maybe they do, maybe they don't,
- 13:54I don't know. But yeah, I did end up eating
- 13:57some of the chicken tenders and fries on a couple of the nights
- 14:03and that was OK. It didn't quite trigger.
- 14:06It didn't trigger my IBS because usually chicken tenders and
- 14:09fries, fries are usually OK, but it's it depends on the season
- 14:13they had. But the first time I had the
- 14:15chicken and tenders, I smelled it and I could smell garlic.
- 14:20Like not a lot of it, but just enough that there was just no
- 14:24garlic in like the seasoning or whatever, just for me to notice
- 14:27it. And I was like, oh shit, garlic
- 14:29is like maybe not the best thing to eat, but I was OK.
- 14:33So that was good. I didn't have to take like a
- 14:35whole ton of Imodium. I just had like a little bit
- 14:37everyday kind of like to, I took it proactively knowing that you
- 14:41know, I'm going to be in the festival for 6-7 hours.
- 14:45I have to eat something. I have at least have to have
- 14:47like 1 meal during like the six or seven hours so I don't starve
- 14:51to death. But that was OK.
- 14:53The chicken tenders and fries were so delicious.
- 14:55I don't know. It's because when you're in the
- 14:57festival, you know, for that long and you get a little
- 14:59hungry, you know, when you're hungry, everything tastes like
- 15:02so good versus just normally where you're not starving.
- 15:07Have you? I learned that when I was a kid,
- 15:09like when you're super, super hungry, like everything tastes
- 15:11actually delicious. Just for sure, like starving to
- 15:14death, everything tastes good. I remember it was Sunday, it was
- 15:18early on in the night and I was going to grab some food.
- 15:22It was like 1010 ish, 10:00 PM-ish.
- 15:25And I intentionally was solo because I was going to go back
- 15:30to our RV at around 11:00-ish because our RV has sprung a
- 15:35little bit leak in one of the tanks.
- 15:39And I volunteered to like go back at around 11:00-ish just
- 15:43like check on it and like we have put a jug under the RV to
- 15:47catch the wastewater. So it was coming from the
- 15:50toilet. So it was basically dripping
- 15:52pea. Lovely, right?
- 15:53And we'll get in. We don't need to get into the
- 15:56details of that specific issue, but it was like dripping from
- 16:02that waste tank effectively. And we discovered it earlier
- 16:05that day and I volunteered to like go back at around like
- 16:0911:00-ish, you know, so that this jug and like this, whatever
- 16:13thing we put under it to catch it to like just to double check
- 16:17that it was working, it wasn't overflowing because that was
- 16:19like our concern. And I, I really didn't mind.
- 16:22So like, my plan was to, OK, let's eat something.
- 16:25Let's just get a little bit of food at the festival.
- 16:28I wanted to see Nora and Pier. She was on, Oh, she was on the
- 16:3310. OK, so this must have been like
- 16:3611:00-ish already by the time I got, went to get some, get some
- 16:39food. But anyways, oh, she was on, she
- 16:41was on like 9. Anyways, I saw Nora and Pier and
- 16:43then I went to get food. It was like 10 or 11:00-ish,
- 16:45something like that. And I went to downtown EDC, the
- 16:48downtown part of EDC where they have like some various things
- 16:52going on there, including weddings.
- 16:55So I don't know if they do legally binding weddings, but
- 16:58they definitely do non legally binding weddings there as well.
- 17:02There's like 2 separate, like there's like 3 separate areas in
- 17:05down at EDC where they're doing weddings.
- 17:07So there is like the EDC tower, like the downtown EDC tower
- 17:12that's like in the middle of downtown EDC.
- 17:14You see, you'll see that in a lot of like photos and videos of
- 17:17downtown EDC actually. So right in front of it, they
- 17:22did like the non, the Glee binding, quote UN quote
- 17:26weddings. You know, sometimes friends just
- 17:27go just to like do it for fun. It's, it's a very casual thing.
- 17:31It's not super serious, but there were obviously a lot of
- 17:33couples that went there and I went to downtown EDC to get
- 17:38chicken tenders and fries because I just happened to be
- 17:41close to Ed South. It's kind of like the nearest
- 17:43place for food after the northern pier.
- 17:44And I just like sat, I got the chicken and fries and I just
- 17:49kind of sat down kind of in front of the little downtown EDC
- 17:53tower where they were doing these weddings just like watch.
- 17:57And I'm not like a wedding person personally, I'm, I'm like
- 18:06maybe indifferent to whether I want to get married or not.
- 18:10For me, a wedding is a little bit more of a legal arrangement.
- 18:18It's more maybe for like legal, possibly tax, financial purposes
- 18:21rather than like a sign of my love and affection for someone.
- 18:27But I don't feel like I need the legal system and like some piece
- 18:32of paper to demonstrate my commitment or my love or
- 18:38affection for like a partner. But anyway, to each their own.
- 18:41So I was like, just like eating my chicken tenders and fries.
- 18:44I was like sitting down cross legged on the on the Astro turf.
- 18:47I'm just like watching people get married.
- 18:50So it was cute. It was cute.
- 18:52Not legally binding, obviously, but it, it was kind of sort of,
- 18:55it's kind of it's, it's a fun thing to do at EDC.
- 18:57And there are a lot of different things you can do at EDC.
- 18:59You see they have like all these rides.
- 19:01There's like all sorts of vendors.
- 19:03You know, there's stuff like like this little wedding thing
- 19:06that's just like scratching the surface.
- 19:08Obviously there's a lot of different stages and a lot of
- 19:10different musical performance musicians, DJs and doing the
- 19:15music and all of that. So yeah, that part was pretty
- 19:21fun. Fast forward to later that
- 19:24night, I mean Friday night and Saturday night, let's go back up
- 19:26a little bit. Friday night and Saturday night
- 19:28I turned in at around 3 I think. Friday night I think I went
- 19:34back. That's not going to RV around
- 19:35like 3330. Saturday night I think I went
- 19:38back like 4 ish, 4:00 AM ish. Had to go back to the RV and I
- 19:43would just basically go back to the RV, take a shower, eat, eat
- 19:49a meal, eat some food and then go to bed.
- 19:51It's just my standard post party like end of a party, night
- 19:54shower, food, bed is great. It's awesome.
- 19:58I love it. Best time of the day.
- 20:00Sunday I was having a really good time.
- 20:03The music wasn't good, the sets were really good and you know,
- 20:07like a lot of my friends or people of my party friends that
- 20:10I haven't to. Know that we're going to EDC.
- 20:13They just happen to be like all around, we're all having a
- 20:15really good time. And I basically stayed at the
- 20:17stage till sunrise when daylight basically turned all the music
- 20:21off. So I did vlog that my various
- 20:25little adventures at EDC, maybe not the most organized
- 20:29coordinated vlogging per SE, but whenever that vlog goes up for
- 20:34my Patreon subscribers, the very end of the vlog, you will see a
- 20:38little bit of what it's like at EDC on the very last night or
- 20:44morning. Technically after the sun, when
- 20:48the sun is rising, it's not quite, it is dawn.
- 20:51I don't know if it's quite like the sunrise technically, but
- 20:54it's bright outside, it's broad daylight outside and you see
- 20:56everyone like leaving the people that are staying up till sunrise
- 20:59until like the last set has finished at there.
- 21:04And you see it just like droves of people just leaving in broad
- 21:07daylight. It's it's interesting to see.
- 21:10And I was one of those people. I got a little bit of footage of
- 21:13that got back to the RV and obviously it's Monday morning
- 21:17now. It's like 6:00 AM Monday morning
- 21:20and I was going to drive back to LA later that day.
- 21:24And Long story short, I end up just kind of sort of semi
- 21:29napping for like an hour. I couldn't really fall.
- 21:35I wasn't super tired, so I didn't want to sleep.
- 21:38And basically I decided to like, OK, we'll just like rest my eyes
- 21:44just like lay down. I wasn't going to go have like a
- 21:47proper sleep. I could have.
- 21:49But I think part of me was just like, OK, party's done, let's go
- 21:52home. Like get the drive over with.
- 21:54Let's just go home. You know, like get home before
- 21:57it's like too, too late. So basically got back to the RV
- 22:00at like 6:00 or 7:00 AM. Just had like an hour nap
- 22:05barely. And then I was on the road back
- 22:10to LA before 12 noon and I didn't feel tired or anything
- 22:16like that. So one of my earliest teenage
- 22:20obsessions was skin care. Instead of looking at toys in a
- 22:23kids section at the store, I was looking at moisturizers in the
- 22:26skin care section. As I grew up and navigated my
- 22:28sexuality, I saw that most of the beauty industry was aimed at
- 22:32feminine women, sometimes at masculine men, but everyone else
- 22:35was left out. It wasn't for someone like me.

- 23:02There's usually a part of me there where like once like after
- 23:06the last day or night of of a party trip, I just kind of sort
- 23:10of want to get home. And a lot of the times I think
- 23:14it's because I just eventually by the time I've like missed the
- 23:18comforts of home, I miss having my own kitchen.
- 23:22I miss like sleeping in my own bed and just like getting back
- 23:25into like the regular routine. It's probably been like a little
- 23:27while since I've been to the gym by then.
- 23:28So I just kind of have a natural inclination to like not hang
- 23:32around once all the parties are done.
- 23:35So I think that kicked in a little bit and I was like, I
- 23:39mean, yeah, I wasn't sleepy, had a little nap.
- 23:43I was not drowsy at all. And I, yeah, that road trip
- 23:46coming back home was fine. But basically I'm kind of paying
- 23:50for it now. That's why I'm a little bit on a
- 23:52struggle bus because I basically just took, I basically kind of
- 23:56pulled an all nighter. You know, I had that one hour
- 23:58nap and that was it. Got home Monday.
- 24:01I think I got home around like the West Hollywood around I
- 24:05think 8:00 PM it wasn't super late. 8 PMI was able to swing by
- 24:11the grocery store because obviously the fridge was empty.
- 24:14Just picked up some basic groceries.
- 24:15Was home like by like 830 or 9 honestly.
- 24:19So it wasn't super late. I was able to like, you know,
- 24:22take a shower or you know, like cook, cook a little quick
- 24:26dinner. But I didn't sleep super well
- 24:28because, you know, it's hard to like adjust back from your party
- 24:33sleep schedule where like you tend to stay very late.
- 24:35And the night before, you know, I was partying till like 5 AM,
- 24:396:00 AM and less than 24 hours later, I'm back home and trying
- 24:43to like readjust back to my regular sleep schedule.
- 24:47And like, you know, like the, the body, at least my body, I'm
- 24:49not 21 anymore. You can't just go from like
- 24:52going to bed at 5:00 or 6:00 AM everyday for like 3 days and
- 24:55then going back to like your regular nighttime sleep time of
- 24:59like, you know, like 10:30 or 11 or whatever.
- 25:01So I didn't sleep that well Monday night after I got home
- 25:05last night. Tuesday night basically that's
- 25:07the that I, I slept pretty well, but I know that I'm still
- 25:11currying a lot of sleep debt. Dragged myself to the gym today
- 25:16and she did OK at the gym. The walk to the dream was the
- 25:20walk to the gym. What's worse than like actually
- 25:23working out at the gym? Yeah, just my body is maybe not
- 25:27agreeing with walking. It's so the body is so weird,
- 25:30isn't it? The body is so weird right now.
- 25:33OK, so those are just a couple of like tidbits, little little
- 25:39tidbits here and there from my trip to EDC.
- 25:44My a couple of friends were just asking me, you know, like on
- 25:48like Monday or Tuesday just after I got back, how was EDC?
- 25:52And honestly, I had I so much fun despite RV having that
- 25:57Little League, despite like a couple minor annoyances which
- 26:00I'll get into for like my uncut Patreon subscribers this
- 26:04weekend. I had such a good time.
- 26:06I had such a great time. I hadn't been at EDS.
- 26:10I think the last time I went was 2022 I think maybe.
- 26:15I think I went once after the pandemic, I think, yeah.
- 26:19So I haven't been there in at least three years.
- 26:23And I kind of sort of forgot how how much I loved it.
- 26:30I remember Friday, which is the first night of the festival.
- 26:33We got into the campgrounds on Thursday, but campers usually
- 26:36arrive on Thursday. But it was like Friday when the
- 26:39first night of the main festival, just walking in, when
- 26:42you're walking in from the camp, you go through like the security
- 26:46and like to take a scan or whatever.
- 26:47And then you kind of enter into like the middle of the motor
- 26:52suite way Oval. That's where you actually start
- 26:54seeing like the actual festival itself.
- 26:56You walk in and then there's this stage, which I believe it's
- 27:01called Cosmic Meadows for those EDC people.
- 27:06I'm not quoting the right one. Please don't kill me.
- 27:07I believe it's cosmic metal. It's the one that you walk into
- 27:10as you walk into like from behind the bleachers coming in
- 27:13from camp EDC and you just basically you're up on the
- 27:16bleachers and you can kind of have this like mountaintop high
- 27:21up view of all of EDC. You can see kind of sort of like
- 27:26almost every part of EDC, but you're up high in the bleachers
- 27:28as you come in. You have to like go down a whole
- 27:31bunch of stairs like these, go down these massive bleachers
- 27:35down to like kind of the base level within the middle of the
- 27:38Oval. And that's where like the
- 27:40festival, all the whole festival is looking at it.
- 27:43And I was like, it just kind of like, hit me like this feels
- 27:47like home. This feels like, like this feels
- 27:50like I belong here, which is a very, very special feeling.
- 27:53I was not expecting to feel like that, but I knew I liked EDC.
- 27:57I've been to I think 5 or so Ed CS before at Vegas, so I knew
- 28:04that I knew what the generation was going to be like.
- 28:07But I guess since I hadn't been there in a while I just
- 28:11forgotten how special EDC can feel, how special it is.
- 28:16So when I walked in on Friday and I, I, I came by myself for
- 28:19other reasons, but I just keep walked in and I just like saw
- 28:23Cosmic Meadow, just saw the stage, saw this, like this view
- 28:26of all of EDC from up high in the bleachers where you come in
- 28:29from. And I was like, this feels like
- 28:31home. This feel, this feels right.
- 28:33This feels correct. And it just felt really special.
- 28:35So that was like a really. That's a really special and
- 28:40awesome way to start that first night of the festival.
- 28:43Yeah. And I just had such a great
- 28:44time. I'm so thankful that I was able
- 28:47to stay with my friends at this RV that they had booked like a
- 28:52full year ago, a full 12 months ago, they booked this RV.
- 28:56So they got like a great RV locally from Vegas, which is
- 29:00like a really awesome thing to be able to do.
- 29:03Everyone that stayed in the RV was great.
- 29:05There were seven of us, which was like maybe like a touch
- 29:08crowded, but like, you know, everyone's like, you know, like
- 29:12courteous and you know all of that.
- 29:14So it was like fine for like the seven of speed in the RV.
- 29:17It just overall was like a really, really good time.
- 29:19I just had a really, really good time.
- 29:20So I'm really glad that I went and I definitely do want to go
- 29:24back. I don't know if I'm ready to
- 29:26bite the bullet for next year. I mean, I did have a great time
- 29:32and I have a great time at a lot of different parties as well.
- 29:35EDC definitely does feel that extra bit special because EDC
- 29:38Vegas, it's very special compared to like a lot of other
- 29:43events that you can go to, like the scale of it.
- 29:46When you go to like a large music festival, something like a
- 29:49Coachella or like Tomorrowland, it it's like on that scale, it's
- 29:53so massive that there's a specialist that comes with it
- 29:56first. It's like I talked about in last
- 29:58week's podcast, you know, like a circuit party.
- 30:01Sometimes you walk in, it's in like a theatre or venue.
- 30:03It's like you walk in, there's a bar that's there's dance with
- 30:06the venue is nothing special really.
- 30:08But then you know, you walk into a place like EDC Vegas and it's
- 30:10like, wow, it's like not just like 1 notch above a circuit
- 30:15party. It's like several notches above
- 30:17a circuit party. Like the scale of it.
- 30:19It's hard to imagine if you've never been to one of these types
- 30:23of events before. So had a super great time, super
- 30:27awesome. I definitely will go back to EDC
- 30:30again. Am I going to go back next year?
- 30:32I mean, let's, let's get off the struggle bus after I recover
- 30:37from this year's EDC first, which I only got back.
- 30:41I haven't even been back in 48 hours as I'm recording this.
- 30:45And we'll see, we'll see what the money situation is like.
- 30:49You know, I can't just keep on going to vacations and parties.
- 30:54I still have to work and pay the bills and all of that.
- 30:56I'm actually, I was thinking early this morning, it's going
- 30:59to be nice in a way because I don't think I have any parties
- 31:03planned for. I don't have any parties.
- 31:07I don't have tickets or anything booked for anything.
- 31:09There's not any events coming up where like I want to go to that
- 31:12event. The EDC ticket for this year, I
- 31:16actually bought last last May or last June and I got it on the
- 31:21layaway plan. And I explained in a previous
- 31:23episode before that I wanted to go in 2024, but at the last
- 31:26minute I decided to bail out to save money.
- 31:29So I saw my ticket and then I saw like how like my Instagram
- 31:32just blew up EDC stuff in 2024 when it's happening.
- 31:36I was like, OK, we didn't do it in 2024.
- 31:39We didn't do it in 2023. Let's try to do for 2025.
- 31:43And I, and I'm doing it this year and it was so great.
- 31:45Doesn't mean I'm going to go every single year, but yeah,
- 31:48let's let's let's recover 1st and then see, I don't have
- 31:51anything planned for later this year, just nothing.
- 31:55So we're about to enter pride month and I'm not going to go
- 31:58anywhere for pride. You know, I might go to like one
- 32:05or two local we ho LA pride parties if it's like not super
- 32:10expensive. Even then, I'm like, you know,
- 32:13every time I go to one of those parties, just those are my sleep
- 32:17schedule for like that weekend and I'm not a super big fan of
- 32:21that. I'm like EDC was like worth the
- 32:24trip. This again, it's so special for
- 32:27like a local circuit party, even if it's during Pride.
- 32:30We'll, we'll see what it's like, but there's nothing, yeah.
- 32:34There's nothing in particular in July or August that I want to go
- 32:36to. Not really anything in
- 32:38September. In October there is going to be
- 32:41Taipei Pride that I went to the last couple years.
- 32:43But I those are collab trips. Yeah, I don't know, I mean,
- 32:47maybe I might do a collab trip in October.
- 32:50It's not so much like a party trip.
- 32:52You know, I might do like a party or two, which I did for
- 32:55type of Pride in 2024, primarily A collab trip.
- 32:58But I scheduled things so that I was able to go to like one or
- 33:02two of the pride parties that weekend at the after all the
- 33:05collabs were done. But that's not till like
- 33:07October. So like in a way between, I'd
- 33:10like the next five months, just the stay home and be local and
- 33:16just get some work done. You know, I, I want to get some
- 33:19work done. I mean, not like I don't usually
- 33:21do work. I, I, I do do work, but to be
- 33:23able to like at least from, from the struggle bus right now, it's
- 33:28like sometimes you go to a party trip, go on a party trip and
- 33:31it's like the few days after you don't really want to think about
- 33:34another party. You're kind of thankful that
- 33:36there are no other parties coming up.
- 33:38I'm a little bit on that in that state right now.
- 33:41Come back in a couple weeks and ask me again, baby.
- 33:44I proved differently. But anyways, thank you so much
- 33:46for joining me on this audio version episode of the podcast.
- 33:53Normal service probably will resume next week.
- 33:56And again on my Patreon, I will have the uncut bonus episode of
- 34:03the podcast to be uploaded this weekend, where I'm going to have
- 34:07definitely some more personal and yeah, definitely more
- 34:13personal, maybe slightly juicy stories from my time at EDC just
- 34:17for my Patreon subscribers. But until next time, bye y'all.
