- 0:07Hello everyone and welcome to another bonus episode
- 0:11of The Psychic Explorer. Yes, another bonus episode.
- 0:14Something extra for you to put into your stocking
- 0:17for this festive season. I wanted to record a
- 0:20little something, a little something that I've
- 0:22recently found out. A revelation regarding one
- 0:25of the ghost stories that my cousin Charlie sent
- 0:28in to me for the Halloween episode. When I was
- 0:32putting this episode together, I was listening
- 0:34to Charlie's story and I was listening to Jono's
- 0:37analysis of it. He was tapping in psychically
- 0:39and he was telling me what he was picking up
- 0:41on. At the time, the things that he was saying,
- 0:45I couldn't take because it wasn't lining up with
- 0:48my knowledge of the property. But whilst I was
- 0:51editing this episode, I wanted to get my facts
- 0:53straight and I texted my auntie to find out how
- 0:56old the house in France actually is. And she
- 1:00told me something on that message which took
- 1:04my breath away. Before we get into that though,
- 1:06let's just recap on what Charlie's story was.
- 1:10I won't go from the very beginning. I'm just
- 1:11going to cut in to where she starts talking about
- 1:14the house in France. So here is just a recap
- 1:17of Charlie's story of her paranormal experiences
- 1:21in France. The second story was in France. Me
- 1:29and Dom used to hear feet running up and down
- 1:31the stairs like in clogs. One night we both woke
- 1:34up in the night and we thought our parents were
- 1:36having a party downstairs. We could sort of hear
- 1:38bar sounds and chatting and drinks. We went down
- 1:49and there was no one there. And everyone was
- 1:53in bed. and then one evening everyone went out
- 2:00for a fireworks display and I stayed at home
- 2:03and I was lying in bed reading and just all of
- 2:06a sudden out of nowhere I felt a really big rough
- 2:09hand sweep across my face and sort of tuck my
- 2:13hair behind my ear and I could feel all the calluses
- 2:16on the fingers and I could just feel every bit
- 2:18of this hand on my face and I... I was terrified,
- 2:22I screamed, I ran out the house and I sat in
- 2:25the pouring rain staring at all the windows to
- 2:28see if I could see anything until my parents
- 2:30got back about an hour later and they just found
- 2:33me soaked, sat outside. So if you are not chilled
- 2:40to the bone by that story yet again on the second
- 2:43time of hearing it, well, well done you. If you
- 2:47want to hear the full... story of Charlie and
- 2:49if you want to hear other people's very spooky
- 2:51tales go back to episode 21 where Jono and myself
- 2:56listen to listeners stories that they have submitted
- 2:59and we discuss what we think might be going on
- 3:03but going back to Charlie's story I was texting
- 3:06my auntie just to make sure that I was getting
- 3:09the date of the house right and she said something
- 3:12to me in that text message and straight away
- 3:14I had to record a call with her. So I got her
- 3:18on my recording suite and this is the conversation.
- 3:38Hi, Sylvia, how are you? I'm fine, thank you.
- 3:41And you? Yeah, I'm good, thank you. I just wanted
- 3:44to give you a quick call. I've just been editing
- 3:48the episode for, well, the Halloween episode
- 3:51and the Christmas episode, which not only have
- 3:54you very kindly given your ghost story of the
- 3:58house in France, but also so did Charlie. She
- 4:01was talking about the house in London, she was
- 4:03talking about the house in France, and... I just
- 4:06wanted to clarify something. How old is the house
- 4:11in France? We're really not sure, but we've been
- 4:14told between 500, at least 500 years old, but
- 4:20it possibly was there at the same time as the
- 4:22abbey, which would make it 900 years old. There
- 4:26was some sort of building there 900 years ago.
- 4:30Okay. We've just been having a little text exchange
- 4:33and I needed to call you because something you
- 4:36said in that text exchange just sort of blew
- 4:38my mind. You said that the building in France,
- 4:44the house in France, used to be some sort of
- 4:47inn, is that correct? That's what we've been
- 4:50told and the name Le Logis means lodging of some
- 4:56kind. So we were told by a local historian many
- 5:01years ago that they believed it was when the
- 5:04local dignitary came to visit the Abbey down
- 5:08the road, they would stay at our house because
- 5:12the Abbey was too uncomfortable for the gentry.
- 5:17So just by dint of the name that it's called
- 5:20the Lodgy, it's been some sort of lodging or
- 5:25somebody else once told us that it was a coaching
- 5:28stage, that there were maybe a stop for a main
- 5:33route between two points. So yeah, some sort
- 5:37of in. See, in my mind, the house is just too
- 5:41remote to be anything like that. So when you
- 5:44said that on your text message, I was shocked
- 5:46because I want to play you something. Well, you've
- 5:49not heard this yet. This has not gone out live
- 5:51or anything. So I just want to play this to you,
- 5:53okay? It feels like that place used to be a pub
- 5:56or a village bar or that sort of a feel to...
- 5:59I don't obviously know what the building looks
- 6:01like in France. Do you know any history of it?
- 6:05I do know the history of it. It's not a bar.
- 6:07It's not a pub. It's far too remote to be anything
- 6:10like that. Right, so that and then... I mean,
- 6:15I'm still guessing that that place was a place
- 6:19where people gathered and drank alcohol and celebrated.
- 6:23Possibly. I mean, it's got a very long history.
- 6:25That's really interesting. So he picked up on
- 6:28that? Yeah, that is incredible. Because we've
- 6:32never told you that. You've never heard that
- 6:35history before. I have no idea. I have no idea.
- 6:39What do you think of that? It's a bit uncanny,
- 6:42isn't it? That we've never spoken about this
- 6:46to you and yet somehow he's picked that up. Is
- 6:51there anything else? Well, the other thing I
- 6:53was going to say is that we had a friend who
- 6:59came to the house and she was half Indian. So
- 7:03she believed very much in spirits and was very
- 7:06open to all of that. And we always felt that
- 7:11the house was a very happy place. That's really
- 7:14why we bought it. It had such a nice atmosphere,
- 7:17even when it was in a really poor. condition,
- 7:21it just had this very happy vibe to it. So when
- 7:24our friend came round, I said to her, can you
- 7:27see anything? Can you sense anything in the house?
- 7:30And she said, oh, just happy girls laughing,
- 7:35clattering down the stairs with jugs of ale when
- 7:39it was an inn. So she actually also mentioned
- 7:43the alcohol in the inn all that time ago. And
- 7:47again, I've never told you about this before.
- 7:50No idea. And she also picked up on the clattering
- 7:53up and down the stairs, because that is the focus
- 7:56of your story. Exactly. And that's why I was
- 8:00never really frightened of the steps, because
- 8:02she'd said that, because she'd associated that
- 8:05with a happy person. It never felt menacing or
- 8:09scary. So the couple of times I've heard her,
- 8:12I just thought, oh, there she is, the girl clattering
- 8:15downstairs laughing. And yeah. So it's never
- 8:19been uncomfortable. It was always just part of
- 8:24the history of the house, I guess. Because that's
- 8:27one thing I was going to ask you. In your story,
- 8:30you said you felt like it was a she or you used
- 8:33the pronoun she. So I wondered, is that something
- 8:36that you picked up on or is that something just
- 8:38your friend had told you so therefore you now
- 8:41refer to that noise as a she? I would guess it's
- 8:44because of that, but also The steps are quite
- 8:48light and rapid. They're not like a thumb thumping
- 8:51down the stairs It's more Like somebody very
- 8:56like put it in clogs coming down the stairs.
- 8:58If you like, it's never felt menacing at all
- 9:02It's not like, you know a heavy presence So I
- 9:07suppose that's why yes, I went along with the
- 9:08sheen Okay, that makes sense. That makes sense.
- 9:11I thought oh, she knows something she's picking
- 9:13up on something but okay and Charlie was telling
- 9:17us about her experience of the rough hand on
- 9:22her face, and she ran outside and waited in the
- 9:27rain for you and Uncle John to come back home.
- 9:31I remember it well. She was absolutely petrified,
- 9:37absolutely beside herself. She was terrified.
- 9:40But it was in the same room where my mum also
- 9:42had this experience of a man's presence sitting
- 9:46on the bed. But I've never had that, I've never
- 9:50been aware of that, but my mum did. Alright,
- 9:55so while I've got you here, so the back bedroom
- 9:59in London, what's the deal with that then? Because
- 10:03Charlie was saying that she used to listen to
- 10:07Harry Potter. Harry Potter tapes, and the tape
- 10:11used to just stop. I don't think she said it
- 10:14at the same place, but I would imagine it was
- 10:15the same place, it would just stop every night.
- 10:18You bought a new tape player, the same thing
- 10:20happened. You changed the CD player, the same
- 10:23thing happened. She said that she could just
- 10:27feel this presence of a woman brushing her hair
- 10:29in her bedroom. When Charlie was very little.
- 10:34It was just me and her. Dominic was a baby, I
- 10:39think, so Charlie must have been about three.
- 10:43And she'd had a bath and we'd sit down on the
- 10:44bed in the front bedroom. She looked down the
- 10:48court floor towards the back bedroom and said,
- 10:51hello, to the empty space. And I was feeling
- 10:57a bit okay. I said, there's nobody there, darling.
- 11:01And then she looked again and she just burst
- 11:04into tears. Sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. I mean,
- 11:08we have had things like the 10 versions turning
- 11:11themselves off at home on the screen today. But
- 11:14not since the children have left, not for a very
- 11:18long time. Okay. So when she did that as a baby,
- 11:22she was looking towards that back bedroom? She
- 11:25was, yeah. How does that make you feel? How does
- 11:31that make you living in that house? I was very
- 11:35freaked out at the time because it was so natural.
- 11:39You know, she was just little. She just said
- 11:42hello. I try not to think about it too much after
- 11:49that. Can I play you what Jono? thought of this.
- 11:53Can I play this so that you can hear what he
- 11:56says? Here we go. That back bedroom. I mean,
- 12:05to me, if I'm linking it in, it almost feels
- 12:10as if this is a motherly figure. This lady, I
- 12:15don't know if she was able to see this lady,
- 12:19but I get like this gray hair, almost gray wiry
- 12:24hair actually with this lady. And the reason
- 12:28why the tape player or the Harry Potter keeps
- 12:31stopping is because it's your bedtime. You're
- 12:34not listening to it anymore. Go to bed, go to
- 12:36sleep. That's the feeling that I'm getting with
- 12:38this. So it's like a protection from her. And
- 12:43I would also, probably she might have felt like
- 12:47a grandmother. as well, so maybe she was in that
- 12:51sort of an age bracket. I've always held my grandmother
- 12:57very close to me and I've always sort of looked
- 13:02to her to be present at times when I felt I needed
- 13:05her around more. I've certainly held her close
- 13:11and asked her for protection at times, especially
- 13:18for the children. I think this is what I'm finding
- 13:20really interesting because this sort of stuff,
- 13:24I think, gets a really bad rap. A lot of people
- 13:26say, oh, it's really scary, it's evil. And I'm
- 13:29just, the more and more I'm sitting with it,
- 13:31the more and more I hear about this sort of stuff,
- 13:36I think if we just spin it on its head and say,
- 13:38actually, it might not be bad. It might actually
- 13:41just be, that's just our perception of something
- 13:43we don't understand. And maybe it's something
- 13:46positive, maybe it is something protective, like
- 13:49time for bed. Well, I have to say that my grandmother
- 13:53was a firm, firm believer in life after death
- 13:56and always said that if there was any way back,
- 13:59she would find it and come back. And that's another
- 14:02reason that I've always sort of held her close,
- 14:06I guess, because I always thought, well, there
- 14:09was half a chance she would try and be around
- 14:11and be protecting me, protecting my children.
- 14:14So, yeah, it could be the good spirit to hold
- 14:18close to. Wonderful. Thank you so much. Thank
- 14:23you for jumping on quickly. I just wanted to
- 14:26get your thoughts and opinions and just record
- 14:29it for, I don't know, whether it be for prosperity
- 14:32or a bonus episode, I'm not sure yet, but thank
- 14:34you so much for doing this. I really, really
- 14:37appreciate it. Okay. I'll have to listen to it
- 14:41now if I can pay the sound of my own voice. So
- 14:45there you have it, my Auntie Sylvia listening
- 14:48to Jono's analysis or him tapping in to her and
- 14:53her daughter Charlie's story about the house
- 14:56in France, about their experiences as a paranormal
- 14:59in the house in France. I thought that was fascinating
- 15:03because I had no idea the house in France was
- 15:05once a pub or an inn. or a coaching in, rather.
- 15:09Not got a clue. I knew it was affiliated with
- 15:13the local Abbey. I knew that the might or the
- 15:16bishop, whatever it might be, went to stay there
- 15:20in days gone by. I had no idea it was a pub.
- 15:25So when Jono was quite insistent... on tapping
- 15:29into that side of Charlie's story, saying, no,
- 15:32I'm definitely feeling alcohol. He was bang on
- 15:36the nose. Also interesting to hear that my auntie
- 15:40Sylvia's friend came out to see the place and
- 15:42she picked up on the woman, the girl running
- 15:45up and down the stairs and my auntie hears those
- 15:48quite regularly in that house. So. I will leave
- 15:52that with you. This is going to be the very last
- 15:55episode before the 25th of December, before Christmas
- 15:59if you celebrate that. If you do have a wonderful
- 16:03day, whatever you are doing, whether you are
- 16:05with family, whether you are having it on your
- 16:08own, whether you are spending it with friends,
- 16:10however you do it, do it your way. Do it the
- 16:13way that you want and if you need to take a break
- 16:16from it all... you have my permission not that
- 16:19you need my permission but just my way of saying
- 16:22look after yourself in a season that can be exciting
- 16:26can be lovely but can also be extremely stressful
- 16:29so look out for something around new year's eve
- 16:33new year's day i mean i might i might try and
- 16:36put something together um i've got a couple of
- 16:38weeks off now where i'm gonna just uh relax but
- 16:41i'm probably gonna get tinkering with the old
- 16:44podcast again so Thank you again for all of your
- 16:48support throughout this year. It's been amazing
- 16:51to hear the feedback, amazing to know that people
- 16:55out there are listening to my ramblings. So if
- 16:59you have any ideas about any future episodes
- 17:01that you would like me to discuss about my experience
- 17:04of stepping onto this medium, this psychic path,
- 17:09this journey, then let me know. Likewise, if
- 17:12you want to tell your story about your experience,
- 17:15Whether they be paranormal or whether you yourself
- 17:19are stepping onto your journey, I would love
- 17:22to include your story. This podcast, the idea
- 17:25for this podcast is a true reflection of experiences
- 17:31of people stepping onto this journey. So I would
- 17:35love for you to step along with me. Reach out
