Latest / Sri Aurobindo Studies / Organizing One’s Life Around a Central Aspiration
Transcript
- 0:01One of the things that spiritual Seekers experience is that
- 0:05regardless of how strong the central aspiration of the Soul
- 0:09happens to be within them. They experienced fluctuations
- 0:14based on the various parts of the external nature coming to
- 0:17the front and asserting their own priorities.
- 0:22This leads to a confused and unfocused life punctuated by
- 0:26periods of spiritual aspiration times of Consecration.
- 0:32And then a fall back into the priorities set by the body, the
- 0:37Life Energy, and the mind, and their relationship to the ego
- 0:41personality that has been formed and the pressures and demands of
- 0:47the external life. The mother suggest that the
- 0:51solution of this situation is based in organizing the entire
- 0:55life step-by-step around the souls aspiration.
- 1:00And bringing the thoughts, the emotions, the vital responses
- 1:05and the Very actions of the body into alignment with the
- 1:09direction of the Soul, a disciple inquires, you say that
- 1:16it is necessary to establish homogeneity in our being The
- 1:21mother notes quote. Don't you know what a
- 1:24homogeneous thing is made up of all similar parts, that means
- 1:30the whole being must be under the same influence, same
- 1:34Consciousness, same tendency same, will we are formed of all
- 1:40kinds of different pieces. They become active one after
- 1:44another. According to the part that is
- 1:47active, one is quite another person.
- 1:50Becomes almost another personality.
- 1:54For instance, one had an aspiration at first felt that
- 1:59everything existed only for the Divine, then something happens.
- 2:04Somebody comes along. One has to do something and
- 2:08everything disappears. When tries to recall the
- 2:12experience, not even the memory of the experience remains when
- 2:18is completely under another influence.
- 2:21One wonders. How this could have happened?
- 2:24Clear examples of double triple quadruple personalities, all
- 2:29together unconscious of themselves but it is not about
- 2:34this. I am speaking, I am speaking
- 2:37about something which has happened to all of you, you have
- 2:41had an experience and for some time, you have felt understood
- 2:46that this experience was the only thing that was important,
- 2:51that had an absolute value. Half an hour later you try to
- 2:56recall. It it is like a smoke that
- 2:59vanishes the experience has disappeared.
- 3:04And yet half an hour ago it was there.
- 3:07And so powerful it is because one is made of all kinds of
- 3:12different things. The body is like a bag with
- 3:15pebbles and Pearls all mixed up and it is only the bag, which
- 3:20keeps all that together, this is not a homogeneous uniform
- 3:26Consciousness, but a heterogeneous one and quote,
