- 7:14[SPEAKER_08]: Today at five, a big coup for our good friend Glenn Curry's got the mayor on Mayor Pierce is going to be on the live at five show to answer your questions.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_08]: I think it's from what I understand.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_08]: There was a deal cut or a deal of some kind where the
- 7:30[SPEAKER_08]: uh... city manager beyond one month in the mayor the other altering months or something like that on Glenn show so tune in at five and one of the questions i guess you can ask him there's a lot of questions the obvious budget question in taxes hydro plants all of that there's the obvious
- 7:53[SPEAKER_08]: one of the things that kind of dropped off the radar was remember the tragic accident last year with the lady on the speed bump up in the park they filed a notice of claim but we don't know if it was ever perfected or not and uh... they may have there may be a super we don't know it uh... the butterfield avenue uh... development that's a ongoing controversy i think the mayor's in favor of it there's of course milly gate
- 8:23[SPEAKER_08]: What's the big deal?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_08]: The city wants, you know, they embarrassed her by saying she's arrested and they wanted to, you know, please do basically a no-contest guilty type thing.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_08]: So why not show it to us?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_08]: What's the harm?
- 8:40[SPEAKER_08]: You know, there's no nudity and it is there?
- 8:42[SPEAKER_08]: No.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, what's the harm?
- 8:44[SPEAKER_08]: It's just people on the restaurant.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_08]: Stabbing.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_08]: you nice to ask you what exactly is an after hours night club and why do we have stabbing is going on for a um... flags flag votes she voted against the pride flag and against the uh... i wish flag so uh... the alert and then could be a whole bunch of other things other stories going on i see the japanese prime ministers at the white house today
- 9:23[SPEAKER_08]: with President Trump or she's doing all the talking but I don't know too much about her.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_08]: What do we know about her?
- 9:35[SPEAKER_08]: Well, finally, a final four starts today all the March Madness, not final four, but the March Madness starts as it just saw it CBS, no news, no die in today, also carried
- 9:53[SPEAKER_08]: another network in there too.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_08]: It's so complicated the first weekend.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_08]: You've got to whittle it to 16 or you can't really even keep track of it.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_08]: Press conference this morning at the Pentagon, Pete Higgs wanted to just leave him off the air.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_08]: He doesn't serve the administration well with his starts right in on banging the press.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_08]: It becomes the lead story instead of the the job our troops are doing.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_08]: I said when they put them in their eyes, glad he wasn't on Fox and Friends weekend anymore.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know, I don't think he does it.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_08]: Just let General Kane describe what's going on and leave it with that.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_08]: Okay?
- 10:37[SPEAKER_08]: And don't talk about, we need more reporters who are patriots or anything like that.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_08]: No, we don't.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_08]: Now, listen, I mean, they've gotten agenda, but when you're an office, your job is to shape the agenda yourself.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I guess NATO is coming around.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_08]: They might do something to help us out in the state of Hormuz.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_08]: Yes.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_08]: Well, there's the whole, oh, there's Hague Sethi's in the Oval Office blowoveryating in front of the Prime Minister.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_08]: She doesn't look too interested in what he has to say.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_08]: So I don't know.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know what's being talked about there.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_08]: be a fly underwater that gold they have on everything is something is that real gold or just paint like the little doodads on the fireplace the and iron's in the uh... decorative things and those are somebody got a buff those up every day no well well anyway anything you want to talk about
- 11:47[SPEAKER_08]: The interim river salmon river central school superintendents resigning is that over the kids in a box?
- 11:56[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I think so Now we got a call right here.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_08]: Good afternoon you're on the air.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_10]: Good afternoon.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, what's up Samantha?
- 12:07[SPEAKER_10]: Well, a couple of things I'm pondering the
- 12:14[SPEAKER_10]: The river hustle waiting room doesn't have a beautiful view of the river anymore.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_08]: Sorry to hear that.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I was bummed.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_10]: I made a video about it.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_10]: But I don't know what to do in the doing a lot of construction.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_10]: But they blocked out the view of the river in the waiting room.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_10]: And they didn't even have a television screen up there.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_10]: watch uh... you know good morning america uh... or something like that so they have a snack machine uh... i i guess it's just what you do what were you doing in the emergency room i was in the emergency room i i was helping a friend she has me she has to get blood worked on okay for producer and i gave her a ride doesn't have a vehicle right now so
- 13:13[SPEAKER_10]: mm-hmm and my little blue car got her there so well good for you you're a nice person oh i'm trying to be but sometimes you know i'm not so nice i don't have a lot of patience with foolish stuff you know so anyways i was going to tell you i did tell you right that i saw some songs on blue at the library no the movie
- 13:43[SPEAKER_10]: Well, it wasn't about the old diamond.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_10]: It was about a performer that an interpreter, or a personator, that sung a lot of new diamonds songs.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_10]: And it was basically a love story, and it was tragic.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_10]: It was so sad what happened, so.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_10]: But if you get a chance, it's a few or two or three or three.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_08]: Okay, sounds good.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_08]: Sounds good.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_10]: One other thing.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_10]: Now, I forgot.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_10]: You know, when you bring, I don't need some time stuff to the food pantry, and the thrift store.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_14]: Mm-hmm.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_10]: And they, this thrift store in Alex Bay, I'm telling you, is so unbelievable.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_10]: It is really a nice thrift store.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_10]: And I had, you know, I used to go to thrift stores years ago, but I gave it up for a month, a couple years ago.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, did you use to live on Prospect Street at one time?
- 14:42[SPEAKER_10]: No, I did not.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_10]: You mean a water challenge?
- 14:45[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_10]: That was funny because I used to walk a lot and I walked over to Prospect Street.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_10]: And that means a lot to me because my grandmother's home is 249 Prospect Street in South River, New Jersey.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_10]: And I just used to walk over there to look at that street.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_10]: But it's nothing like my grandmother's street in South River, New Jersey.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_08]: Okay, very good.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_08]: Well, thanks Samantha.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, sir.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_08]: You have a good day.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_08]: All right, by now.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know what she's even saying.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, um, what are we going on here?
- 15:25[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, we're now going to start the debate for a $30 minimum wage.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_08]: How wouldn't she like that?
- 15:33[SPEAKER_08]: Wouldn't she like that?
- 15:35[SPEAKER_08]: Yep.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_08]: It's, um, there's a measure introduced in the New York City Council.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_08]: Now they're going to lead the charge on this because what happens there eventually trickles upstate right now it's a seventeen dollars in the city sixteen dollars in the rest of the state so because of the uh... your friends in New York City you'll all be getting a raise thirty dollars an hour that'd be great you know the dally guy the delivery worker the cashier they can't afford to live with dignity and it's reaching a breaking point said one city council member down there
- 16:15[SPEAKER_08]: Now that would that would put sure what right now minimum wage is about 31,000 a year so that bring it up for around 47,000 a year or yeah.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, if you're going to pay minimum wage at that level, you've got to pay government workers a lot more and other people.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_08]: So I think you'll see a lot more under the
- 16:45[SPEAKER_08]: uh... you got to see a lot of things lot of things going on with the way things are going in society whether it be new ways to evade taxes or people jump in their electric meters to get out of some of that power or whatever they got to do people are going to do what they got to do i have not here they advocate for it or say it's right or wrong i'm just saying it's going to happen um...
- 17:14[SPEAKER_08]: Remember when minimum wage was like $2 an hour, $0.50 an hour, whatever it was.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_08]: And you were glad to get it.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_08]: Now $17 is slave wages.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_08]: And you want $30.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_08]: I'm all in favor.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_08]: I don't care.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_08]: I'm at a point in life.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_08]: I don't care.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_08]: So go ahead and do it.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_08]: And we'll see what happens.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_08]: 755-1240 the phone number if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of shows today um... anything you want to talk about?
- 17:53[SPEAKER_08]: what would you ask the mayor if you were going to carry today?
- 17:57[SPEAKER_19]: no but after you're on the air hey good afternoon mayor just uh... uh... a common on the minimum wage thing uh... from the uh... today
- 18:09[SPEAKER_19]: All that's going to do is raise the employers prices up, you know, you know, a big Mac might be $10, now they need to be, you know, $3 box, they're going to get to give somebody that's probably going to even have a D, D, 30 dollars an hour, how much you think a big Mac's going to be, and that's just one small example.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, because if you're going to pay people It's going to be, if they get up, if somebody's got five guys to pay, and they've got to get $30 an hour And they don't even know, you know what I mean?
- 18:45[SPEAKER_19]: And I understand people that they want to part-time on Walmart's very famous for 33 hours a week Stuff like that, so you don't have to be insurance benefits, stuff like that, or whatever
- 18:58[SPEAKER_19]: You know, that's where they did all the self-checkups are coming from and the whole nine yards, but if they'd want to give somebody that doesn't know, ask them to share in all 30 dollars an hour and they can't even, you know, they don't even have to put in the bag for years, you know, that's how much their stuff they're putting in the bag is going to cost.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_19]: We're putting it going to blame it on Trump.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_19]: Well, if this is what my dummy wants to wait to somebody that's got to hold this gate.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_08]: Well, why should they make more money than a worker be?
- 19:39[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, everybody likes to make fun of burger flippers, but that's an essential part of society.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_08]: Why?
- 19:45[SPEAKER_08]: Why?
- 19:45[SPEAKER_08]: Because you're, you know, doing something else.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, maybe everybody should be paid the same.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_19]: I understand that, but some jobs, you know, get it.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_19]: But it's a lot of you use a foot-by-hambler than it is, uh,
- 20:00[SPEAKER_19]: build a house, really me I've worked in McDonald's when I was 16 that closed the grill on State Street.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_08]: Really?
- 20:08[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_19]: That means I did that, but that was hard work and then my supervisor manager, Lady, we got a boss and here comes off 50 kids from a soccer tournament or something and I'm like I'm making like 300 burgers in a minute, you know what I mean, it's like seriously.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but that was an old date, but yeah, I know what I'm talking about, but well, I mean, these days, how many times you hear people say, oh, I had to pay 18 bucks for a sub or something.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_08]: Well, so what if you're paying 25 or 30 for the sub?
- 20:43[SPEAKER_19]: Well, I don't know, but a lot of jobs right now, they only want to give you like 17 18 bucks an hour.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_19]: And then a president Trump did way with the no cash on tips, God bless them.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_19]: and everything else, but they're trying to shut them down on everything they possibly can.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_19]: And I don't know, but this raising the minimum wages $30 an hour is like... Well, you'll see more automation in certain areas, yes, but... Um...
- 21:13[SPEAKER_19]: I don't know, I just think it's a bad idea because when a employer has to raise the employees' wages, not saying they don't deserve them.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_19]: that it's just going to cost them more.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_08]: I know.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, business.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_08]: I know how it works.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_08]: But you know, it doesn't matter.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_08]: Just pay your higher taxes, pay your higher electric bills, pay your higher cost of labor, it doesn't matter.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_19]: Well, matters to the people that are paying the higher tax.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_19]: There's a lot of people like this.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_19]: I don't know.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_19]: We'll call them the other days.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_19]: The guys got 30 year old guys and they lined up all the way down the street
- 21:55[SPEAKER_19]: And he is 30 years old because some of them got something wrong with him maybe, fine, okay, granted.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_19]: But a lot of people are like, I get a free house or I knocked up a girl with three kids and keep, you know what I mean, blah, blah, blah.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_19]: You know, so they don't, they're making more money than somebody blocking their hands.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I don't know.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know what the answer is.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_08]: The only one who has ever discovered the answer was our good friends Samantha up in Alex Bay.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_08]: She enjoys life and doesn't get upset, so.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_19]: Okay, I gotcha, I gotcha.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_19]: Okay, all their prices are going to go off.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_08]: Gotcha.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_19]: Bye.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_08]: All right.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_08]: Uh, let's see.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, what else we got going on?
- 22:58[SPEAKER_08]: It's about it.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_08]: It's the mayor pierce thing today.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_08]: Well, what do you think Glenn should ask her?
- 23:04[SPEAKER_08]: Glenn listens, so he'll, he would appreciate your input.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_08]: And we'll be back with more in a moment.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_16]: The world can change in just seconds.

- 26:23[SPEAKER_16]: The news in talk authority, WATN, AM-1240.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_08]: Hey, I'm 1240.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_08]: So, what do you want Glenn to ask the mayor today?
- 26:32[SPEAKER_08]: She's going to be on here.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_08]: Now, some people are asking already, why is she on Glenn show and not yours?
- 26:38[SPEAKER_08]: Well, as I said, there was apparently an agreement cut to put city officials on his show.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_08]: So, I don't know what the details were,
- 26:48[SPEAKER_08]: My point on it is, I am not a, I'm a pariah in media locally, because I'm going to press people on certain questions, and it may not be fair, right?
- 27:05[SPEAKER_08]: I think when you get the six figure employees, you can press them as hard as right?
- 27:10[SPEAKER_08]: It's tough to take somebody in basically a volunteer job almost and, uh,
- 27:16[SPEAKER_08]: press them hard on the air so it's probably best that these people not be on my show and uh... you know i'm not saying blends of softy but it's a little more easy you know talk about you know how they would stuff and all of that but uh... will this have to see somebody texted in plain and simple jeff she just doesn't like you at all yeah if i said i thought it for i don't know why i don't think i've done anything to her
- 27:45[SPEAKER_08]: been a big defender of a friend, Millie.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_08]: A lot of people criticize me for that.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_08]: So, no.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_08]: Now, the whole... Now, the Millie thing tomorrow.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_08]: I hope she brings that video along.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_08]: I'd love to look at it.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_08]: I'll come count them and show them you got to see it, not me.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_08]: Now, the city won't release its video.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_08]: but that's part of their policy of stonewalling on foil request.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_08]: So, you're not gonna, I don't know why, I mean, if what she did was so bad, it endured, it's ruminated for two weeks, they ruminated on it, before charging her.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_08]: So they must have really studied it and come to the conclusion they were right.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_08]: So I don't know why the city doesn't just release that video,
- 28:45[SPEAKER_08]: the North countries window on the world, they'll blow out the, they'll blow out the guys face who's choking if you, if you want.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, I'm sure they would do that.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_08]: I am.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_08]: I'm sure Mr. Cole would do that.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_08]: But they won't give it to him.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_08]: And they'll say, well, it's pending litigation or it's pending, you know, investigation or, no, they already investigated, they charged her.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_08]: That was the decision.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_08]: Some people think she should be charged with a felony.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_08]: Some people should think she shouldn't be charged at all.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_08]: So I don't really know, but they made the decision.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_08]: They thought about it for two weeks.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_08]: And plenty of time to look over the video.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_08]: I'm sure that went all the way to the third floor.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, given who Millie is.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_08]: So they thought about it, reviewed it, talked about it,
- 29:45[SPEAKER_08]: Well, that being the case, why not show the rest of us?
- 29:49[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, why not show the rest of us?
- 29:54[SPEAKER_08]: Was anybody arrested yet, no stabbing Friday night?
- 29:57[SPEAKER_08]: No?
- 29:58[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_08]: Well, we'll see what happens there.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_08]: A 755-1240, the phone number, it'd like to give us a call to be on the show of
- 30:17[SPEAKER_08]: Hmm... Well, they're shortening morning, Joe, in the morning?
- 30:26[SPEAKER_08]: Oh my god.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_08]: Big programming moves.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_08]: Mika and Joe.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_08]: Um... Stephanie Rool is going to get an hour from morning, Joe.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_08]: Wow.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_08]: I think she's actually not that, you know, one of the better personalities.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_08]: Um, well, morning Joe's on four hours.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, I mean, that's a lot anyway.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_08]: They're going back to three hours, you know.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, Joe and Mika think it's a lot of strain in hosting a four hour.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_08]: There really is.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_08]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_08]: Here, what's up, Sheila?
- 31:15[SPEAKER_11]: Well, I just wanted to make an invitation for the American Legion post-61 on Sterling Street.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_11]: This Saturday, they are having something called Dance to the Music of the Adorond Act Playboy's.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_11]: But what it is is for members and sponsored guests of the 13 American Legion's in Jefferson County.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_11]: the sons and the auxiliary members, but sometimes it's hard to reach out to everyone and you are always the best source for the area and I thought you wouldn't mind.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_11]: The hours are 7 to 10 and I thought if we get everyone there from the 13 American legions when it's done at 10 o'clock, maybe we can ship everyone over to your place.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_08]: Well, is that Saturday you said?
- 32:13[SPEAKER_11]: March 21, from 7 to 10, and it's called the Adorondack Playboy, they're so loved in the area.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_11]: And we hired them to come.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_11]: It's free admission for every American lead to their auxiliary sons of the American lead and we're having light snacks that'll be available for everyone.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_11]: And our society, we don't get groups together anymore, and we're going to try and do something every six to eight weeks.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_08]: Oh good.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_11]: And I thought, when it's done at 10 o'clock, maybe we can just kind of have people maybe come your way.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_08]: Well, that'd be great.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_08]: We'll be over there.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_08]: We're always there on Saturday mornings, looking for two extra people.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_08]: So we'd be glad to have you.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_11]: Right.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_11]: And then I thought, well, we're done at 10 p.m. if whatever we can send people over to, you're open to what time.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_08]: What you're talking morning or evening?
- 33:13[SPEAKER_11]: evening.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, we're open.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, two way.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_08]: I'm yeah.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, yeah So that's good.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_11]: So maybe when we get done we can send some people over there, too So okay, that'd be great.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_11]: Thank you so much for doing this for us and we'll keep you posted every time we do it Okay, thank you.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, you're most welcome.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_11]: Have a good afternoon.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_08]: All right, bye now.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_11]: Bye.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_08]: Hi Okay, uh somebody texted in
- 33:36[SPEAKER_08]: City officials don't want to go on a hotline because you ask hard questions that some city residents are afraid to ask I don't know if it's true right I don't think I'm that hard on people I think Mr. Batista's harder on them at the council meetings than I am um... so I don't know well let's see here's the guy who says are you paying your staff a fair wage
- 34:05[SPEAKER_08]: No, I don't know, I want to come over and look at my paychecks record, you can.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_08]: And then he says, so people will be drinking and driving probably, you know.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_08]: Well, drinking and driving at the same time certainly isn't a good idea.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_08]: 755-1240, the phone number, if you'd like to give us a call.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_08]: You know, there's a...
- 34:33[SPEAKER_08]: story here in the state republican party is in this is again something it would be kind of slow coming to the because we have no for a dicker in local media no alanammerino nothing but the state republican chairman for any illuser ed cox and have nixon sun and law talk about being around beyond your useful uh... whatever
- 34:59[SPEAKER_08]: Ed Cox, he and the Republican State Committee are endorsing Robert Smollon in the Republican primary for NY21.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_08]: Now, normally, party officials don't endorse a candidate in a primary, but they are in this one.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_08]: The county chairs, the Don Cooons, right on up to Ed Cox, and everything in between, and I guess they're trying to get Smollon in there.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_08]: Anthony Constantino is the other candidate.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know, I mean, we still don't, even though there's people within the sound of my voice who live in that district, we still don't see much interest in it.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_08]: Maybe people don't care who the member of Congress is, but the old, I hate to say it, but the edcox is presided over losing for so long.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_08]: Is he getting his endorsements probably a little bit of a curse, but we'll see.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_08]: But after doing her on the air.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_17]: Good afternoon.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_17]: I'm like, uh, switching up a little bit and talk about a case going on down in, uh, a sweetly county.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_17]: Happening and saying it well.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_17]: Those animals are in saying the creek.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I heard there was an animal cruelty case, area, yes.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_17]: Yes.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_17]: Okay.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_17]: Guys, already been, was charged in 2019.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_17]: up in Lorraine, New York, for the same thing, and I'm just putting it out there that the animal, so can't speak for themselves, so other people have to, yeah.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_17]: had been left to have animals again in 2019, but some people, yeah, should not have possession of animals or children or anything else, yeah.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_08]: All right, we'll set it.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_08]: Thank you, sir.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_08]: Put them up there.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_08]: All right, we will.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_08]: Thank you, bye.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, that was in the news today, the animal cruelty case from a three-year county.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, let's see, uh, oh, a student was mistreated, and uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
- 37:57[SPEAKER_08]: and all that so you know what we are waiting for I think on this race for Congress is what is a leastophonic do she is the if all the party leadership the adcoxes and the coupons and all these other people are endorsing small and will stophonic through the same
- 38:24[SPEAKER_08]: where we'll see just let it slide.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_08]: Now, she'll be voting, obviously.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_08]: She's a Republican registered in the 21st.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_08]: I'm sure she'll be voting.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_08]: My feeling is, I don't know.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know how she would go on this.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_08]: We'll see making endorsement.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_08]: What about some of your leading Republicans like a Scott Gray or a Walsek or some of those people?
- 38:49[SPEAKER_08]: Well, they be an endorsed yet.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_08]: It looks like the party of the insiders are all going to go small and whether they actually vote for them, I don't know, and there's a lot of people who will be voting for Constantinople.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_08]: But not many people vote in a primary, so it's really hard to say, but your county committee people and your chairs, they're all going to vote, so that helps small and put on the other hand.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_08]: No matter who wins, it's going to be a tough race in the fall, a tough race.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_08]: We'll see.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_08]: We'll see what happens.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_08]: Um...
- 39:31[SPEAKER_08]: But somehow having Ed Cox endorse you is like... Yeah.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_08]: Didn't he call all upstate O's apple knockers a few years ago?
- 39:42[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, he's a man-hat in elite.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_08]: a rhino if you will and uh... i don't know is his endorsement means a lot but to the extent endorsements mean a lot i guess it's out there yet you know i saw that one a couple weeks ago and didn't even get covered in the local media with a juffers and county we public in committee endorsement they just though the sheepishly put out a picture of uh... mr. chairman cune and and mr. smallon on facebook i never saw anything more mentioned about it so
- 40:14[SPEAKER_08]: And they, the story about Ed Cox endorsing him.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_08]: That hasn't gotten any play in our local media.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_08]: But like I said, there's no Fred Dicker of Watertown.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_08]: So, anyway, 755, 1240, the phone number back with more in a moment.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_08]: More in a moment.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, what's somebody doing here?

- 45:02[SPEAKER_18]: I'm calling him off.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_18]: JCC's ice hockey team.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_18]: I wanted to mention this year.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_18]: We were invited to Jacksonville, Florida last week for the nationals.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_18]: A record was three to two, he'd lost in the quarter finals, and I'd like to say that JCC and Head Coach Mike Lizzou, the players, can hold their head up high.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_18]: We did a great showing for the North Country and
- 45:36[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_08]: Well, thank you.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_08]: Congratulations.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_08]: Congratulations to the JCCC team.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_08]: Is that the same Michael do who used to be in a prison guard or a different one?
- 45:47[SPEAKER_18]: No, no, it's a different one.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_08]: A different one.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_08]: No, okay.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, he's been our head guy for three years.
- 45:53[UNKNOWN]: We've only been in existence three years and we've won the division twice and three years.
- 45:57[UNKNOWN]: For a two year school, it's really good.
- 46:01[UNKNOWN]: We played all four year schools down there in Texas.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_08]: Okay, I just want to let people know that there's something positive going on in the community Good and I want to thank JCC and Mike Zoo for letting me be a part of it Yeah, okay, well good enough.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_08]: Well, thank you, Obi, and have a safe trip to Ireland Thanks, no, see you later.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_08]: All right, my now.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_08]: Obi, you know everybody knows Obi Yeah, everybody knows Obi
- 46:34[SPEAKER_08]: Um, Glenn just popped his head and wanted me to say that Glenn liked the commercial front of the beginning.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_08]: I like it from the beginning, I, it's a little edgy, um, I wonder if Roger Stone thought that up.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_08]: He said something Roger did, I don't know.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_08]: I talked to Constantine on this week, Mr. Constantine on Mr. Mewel said he's going to try to get Roger on the show here.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_08]: Hopefully, we can do something like that.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if we can have them in the building.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, we can have them in here, I guess.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_08]: Everybody loved to meet him.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_08]: Get their picture taken with him.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_08]: But anyway, we're going to try to get him on the show, at least by phone.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_08]: Talk about the whole deal.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_08]: And what else are we going to talk about?
- 47:28[SPEAKER_08]: You see, that commercial was good for one reason.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_08]: It's kind of like the Super Bowl commercials they get talked about in other news stories.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_08]: If you buy a commercial it's fine.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_08]: It gets aired and people hear it and all of that.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_08]: But if it gets talked about beyond the air, then you've had a good commercial.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_08]: That's a difference between a commercial and a good commercial.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_08]: Is it gets more chatter or references outside the 30 or 60 seconds it runs?
- 47:59[SPEAKER_08]: just a little less than in broadcasting air for those who didn't know that but uh... as an experienced uh... broadcast professional for many years uh... anyway seven five i twelve forty the phone number if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of shows don't forget mayor pierce will be here at five o'clock she's gonna answer all the questions even the from the angry man from mr. but he's uh... from anybody else who calls she'll answer it

- 51:51[SPEAKER_08]: The victim said that after exchanging messages and images were an unknown individual, the suspect threatened to publicly disclose sensitive personal information, unless the victim provided cash and other items of value, well wait a minute.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_08]: You got somebody you don't even know when you're exchanging pictures of yourself?
- 52:13[SPEAKER_08]: This must have been on, uh, not Tinder, the other one, Grindr.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_08]: Investigators identified the man as a suspect saying he had created and used fraudulent online accounts to carry out the scheme.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I don't know.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_08]: That's crazy.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_08]: That's crazy.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, you meet somebody on a dating app and you're sending pictures of your junk or whatever.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_08]: No, I don't think that's a good idea.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_08]: Congratulations to FireCaptain Derrick Derrowen and retiring from the City Fire Department after 28 years of service 28 years and what would that take you back to the 90s I guess?
- 52:56[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, we're good for him.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_08]: Congratulations captain and Let's see you must have been on back when I was mayor the first time.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_08]: I'm just coming out of the department
- 53:12[SPEAKER_08]: Now, we've seen a lot of fires over the years.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_08]: Now, some people get mad when you call firemen smoke eaters.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_08]: I don't consider it an insult, but some people get all worked up over it.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_08]: But that's a lot of years of being a smoke eaters.

- 53:29[SPEAKER_08]: 755, 1240, the phone number, if you'd like to be on the show of shows today.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_08]: And we can talk about, man, things.

- 54:03[SPEAKER_08]: And I happened with those hospitals in Carthage and Ogden'sburg.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_08]: I stayed at the one in Carthage for a while.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_08]: And it was good there.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_08]: They were good.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_08]: Good people.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_08]: Food wasn't bad either.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_08]: But it's a tough business.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_08]: It's a tougher act to keep those things open.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_08]: Especially when you got to pay the top guy like hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_08]: But we'll see.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, YouTube to New York State is ranked the worst state in the country for physicians.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I've... That could very well be.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know what ranks at the worst, pay.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_08]: Annual wages, hospitals per person.

- 55:28[SPEAKER_08]: You know, we've gotten flurries this morning here in Watertown.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_08]: It just doesn't seem to want to.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_08]: We've had some really up and down weather.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_08]: Some days it's been, you know, we had a 72 degrees on Monday, and then it dropped over 50 degrees overnight.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_08]: It's quite a change.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_08]: It's 34 in overcast right now.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_08]: We expect a high today of 38.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_08]: It sprinkles or flurries possible.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_08]: with rain or snow showers, 41 on Saturday, 40 on Sunday, pretty season.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_08]: All I would say 38 or nine is about your ever chive for this date in the year.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_08]: So it's, remember to put on target for seasonality this week, but still, you just like to get rid of what's on the ground.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_08]: You're tired of looking at it every time you get rid of it, it comes back again.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_08]: already.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_08]: Okay.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_08]: Um, again, our big story of the day is the Watertown Mayor Sarah Pierce, Compromise Pierce, Compromise whatever.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_08]: Going to be on the live at five show at five o'clock today with Glenn Curry.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_08]: Barely, should I answer your questions?
- 56:41[SPEAKER_08]: That's what it says.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_08]: What I heard.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if there's any restrictions, but
- 56:48[SPEAKER_08]: It's also the Maple Weekend in Jefferson and Louis County, so we get a ton of maple syrup here at the station.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_08]: We were selling it, I bought a couple boxes, it's a gift pack, it's very nice, but we'll see how Glenn does.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_08]: Now again, you know, in water town, we don't have what I call derivative media, so the media doesn't cover what's on other media, so I don't know if she says something profound, you'll have to listen to it on Glenn's show because, well, new shunkey might take an excerpt, but that'll be about it.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_08]: Um, let's see, good on vanilla ice cream, maple syrup on, I'm sure it is.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_08]: You know, you can get red hot chili pepper maple syrup.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_08]: And you can use it as a glaze on various meats and like ham or something like that as well as on the usual pancakes and waffles and all of that.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_08]: And there's cinnamon infused and all this stuff.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_08]: It's like five different flavors in this gift pack where you got to appear at the start.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_08]: I bought a couple.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if you're selling them or what we're doing but there's a whole bunch of them out here.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_08]: I tried to steal one the other day, but Sandy stopped me.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_08]: She stopped me at the door.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_08]: And I had to give it, I had to pay for it.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_08]: But it's not that expensive.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_08]: And I sent one box of waiter as a gift and there he go.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_08]: So I don't know if you want to
- 58:30[SPEAKER_08]: You want to try the red hot chili pepper maple syrup or cinnamon or there's a bourbon one too.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_08]: For you boozers, we can't get through breakfast without boozing it.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, give it a try, all right.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_08]: And there's festival going on this weekend.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_08]: It's a big thing that McCrogan probably is where it is.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_08]: So, and if somebody wants to give us a call and tell us more about it, hey, Millie's going to be in tomorrow.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_08]: Millie Vanille herself, yeah, talk about her, her court room appearance and what she's going to do and she's not going to take it anymore and she's brave heart.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_08]: She considers herself the brave heart of water tone.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_08]: It's right.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_08]: You're going to take my life, but you can't take my liberty, says Millie.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I don't know if they will take her liberty or not, but it's supposed to be in court again, sometime in April.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_08]: So we'll look for that.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_08]: A lot of time we have spent on this.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_08]: Is it really worth it?
- 59:43[SPEAKER_08]: Is the juice worth the squeeze?
- 59:45[SPEAKER_08]: I guess that's the thing.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_08]: So again, when Curry 5 o'clock live at 5 show, don't miss it.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_08]: Mayor Pierce will be on and I'll be back tomorrow at 12 noon for another hotline you're listening to the hotline on the community broadcast station this is a
