- 0:00SPEAKER_00: In this episode, we have replaced Brendan with a like for like in David Ames.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: We're talking all things Amesy.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: We're going to go into the news and the Hoof clutter fixtures.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: We're going to talk a bit of Pro League.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: We're going to talk about your guilty pleasures.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: And of course, we're going to re-enter the coup.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, guys, we're in episode seven of Let's Dick Together.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Brendan's had to have a week off.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: You know, we've given him the week.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: And so we've replaced him.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Last minute change for David Ames, who is an executive producer.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: He is a longtime fan of the pod, but he is the most importantly the idol of Brendan and Yupe.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Before we go to you, AMZ, Yup, how are you feeling?
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm I'm a little bit starstruck at the moment, like uh finally seeing AZ again.
- 1:13SPEAKER_03: Not in the flesh, but still it feels it feels real.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: No, I'm good.
- 1:17SPEAKER_03: I've had a I've had a I've had a uh uh maybe even a literal uh literally a shitty week last week where I was a bit sick.
- 1:26SPEAKER_03: Um came out on all ends, um, so didn't really play uh a lot on uh Saturday.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: Uh but uh we won uh and we're ready for uh the playoffs this weekend uh Philip.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: We haven't even stopped.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: I didn't even I just wanted to know.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: I just wanted to say hello and I'm shocked that Ames is here.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: I haven't even gotten to Ames yet.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: We're not talking about your fucking weekend.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Um the gift that keeps on giving, Philip.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: You just we say notch you put a quarter in him and he doesn't stop talking.
- 1:56SPEAKER_03: Well, that's you the more you should have known by seven seasons right now.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Amesy, thank you very much.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Um, how do you feel about being Brendan's replacement?
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Um, firstly, thank you, Philip, uh, for the very kind invite.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Um two things really.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: One, I I think I said to you a few months ago the only time that I really wanted to come on this was whenever Creedy was on, so that the three of us could just sit there and abuse him for a one-hour special.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Uh and the second bit was Am I a like for like with Creedy?
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm not sure given um the uh yeah, the balance that you two have and also the shit that he gets from uh from other listeners.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: Um so who knows?
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: We'll see how we go for the next whatever hour or whatever you have to have or try to excuse me.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: I should say that you're you're you're about as least like for like as humanly possible.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: I didn't you when we were messaging today earlier with AMC, I said you have to go against every instinct you've ever had if you want to try and be like Brendan.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: If not, you can probably do your own thing.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Ames's turned up with a background full of Brendan's face to trick you into thinking it was Brendan.
- 3:08SPEAKER_03: I really thought Brendan was gonna be here, and it was like, Yeah, I can record, but I can't show my face because blah blah blah blah.
- 3:15SPEAKER_03: I thought that was gonna be the gist, and then because David even changed his name to Creed.
- 3:21SPEAKER_03: So well done to you, David.
- 3:23SPEAKER_03: You're already one up on me.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so so before we get into the to the fun stuff of talking our normal shit, I am gonna introduce Amesy because he he he he is also a fairly big hockey star, and we are lucky to have him on board.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Um first of all, for anyone who doesn't know, uh Amesy has had the pleasure of playing for Ireland and Great Britain and England.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: He debuted in 2008, which is uh for anyone who doesn't know that's a fucking long time ago.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Um he's got 64 Irish caps.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: He debuted for GB in April 2015, he's got 133 GB and England caps.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: He has been the England and Great Britain captain for the last 18 months and um hopefully will be leading into the latest Olympics.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: He's already a two-time Olympian.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: He's a scholar of the game.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Uh he is the guy that we go to.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Uh he's the guy that tells us when we're saying wrong stuff, which is a lot of the time.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Uh, and yeah, yeah, I mean, I I could go on, Amesy.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Have I got anything wrong so far?
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Um, no, you haven't.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Let's move on.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: I think Creedy would say that, wouldn't he?
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Let's move on.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: 2008.
- 4:36SPEAKER_03: 2008.
- 4:38SPEAKER_03: Jesus Christ.
- 4:40SPEAKER_03: You're fucking old, aren't you?
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: Or were you like 2008?
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: I didn't even have hairs or hair on my balls.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: That was the You still don't?
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: No fair.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: MC, first of all, uh big question.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Do you still listen or are you sick of us?
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Um no, I was actually I was thinking earlier, when I don't like some of the shit that you talk, it's easy then for me to just turn it off when I'm driving into Bishop or I'm driving to training, whatever.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: Whereas now, because I have to listen to the both of you for the next 50 minutes, there's no way I can turn this off.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Yes, I do listen.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Um I pretend probably to you two uh that I don't, but I definitely um I definitely caught up with uh everything that goes on.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: And um I mean the last non-serious question we'll we'll ask you more more serious ones throughout the pod, but like as I've already said, you can Brenn look up to you like you're you know they you're you're their hero.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: How do you how do you could you give us a lowdown of how you see Brennan in a yope?
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: I'm not sure we have enough, not enough time.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Creedy um Creedy is wild with his thoughts, um cryptic at times, but almost one of the nicest, and and I'm I'm I must admit, you know, one of the the genuine most most nicest guys I've met.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Um I'm very much a people person, but at any opportunity that he says something stupid, he is there to get the piss ripped out of him.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: And predominantly that's what me and you spend most of our weeks doing ropes.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Uh Yuppie, on the other hand, tries to be serious, comes across serious, it's just fucking annoying at times to be honest.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: But I do love Yuppie, yeah, and I do miss you, Yuppie.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Wait, wait.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: I just get that I'm a complete knock, but I'm not sure.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but you're yeah, but you're forgetting I spent seven months of COVID with Creedy.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, which yeah, pretty much put me to in scene essentially at times.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: But um yeah, so I'm probably a little bit more um nicer to him, probably would be the the word to use.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: But you'd be I still I still love you, but you know, you're still annoying on this podcast at times.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: He doesn't really know what to do right now.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: He's desperately trying to read through what Amesy's just said and take something.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure if he's taking it nicely.
- 7:09SPEAKER_03: He's I just heard I just heard him saying that he loves me.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: That's all I need.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: Well, that's a good start.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: I'm glad I put you on the spot early there, Amesy.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: We'll go into the news.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: We are gonna treat Amesy just like Brendan this week, so he is just a third host.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Uh feel free, Amesy, to just chip in, say what you want.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: But we're gonna uh he's already done also more research than we've ever done on the pod, so I'm sure it's gonna come out.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Um, let's come at you first for the Hoof Classer.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: You as you've already pointed out, you are leading into the playoffs, you've got a big week.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: How is that coming?
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Who are you playing, and uh what what's going on?
- 7:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so as I said, we're playing uh kampong.
- 7:54SPEAKER_03: Uh just like we uh it was the weirdest game I've ever I didn't really play a lot, but it was the weirdest game I've ever been a part of, in which we played kampong.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: We already knew that whatever was going to happen, we were going to play kampong in the um in the semifinals of the playoffs as well.
- 8:09SPEAKER_03: Um, and I don't know how big of an of a thing it is in England, but like playoffs in Holland is like a really big thing.
- 8:15SPEAKER_03: Uh, you're let's see you're 22 games into a season, and you're like it's really it's always a battle who ends up in the top four.
- 8:21SPEAKER_03: And uh it's been six years since we've made it into the top four, and now we did.
- 8:25SPEAKER_03: Uh, we tried to get English players uh to come over uh to make playoffs, didn't work.
- 8:30SPEAKER_03: We got Kiwis, um uh and it did work, so it was like a really big achievement for us.
- 8:36SPEAKER_03: Um and yeah, we're playing Kong at the weekend.
- 8:39SPEAKER_03: It's uh Blumenar.
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: What then?
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: Why are you laughing, Philip?
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: No, no reason, no reason.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: I just like the dig.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: We missed out a key part.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: We missed out a key part that it's like this is uh uh like we are reunited because me and Amesy went to OR and played with Yup, and Yupe took us under his wing and and and it loved us with all of his heart, and then we we broke it into smithereens at the end of the first year.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: So he is still bitter about it.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Go on, please continue.
- 9:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I want yeah, I want the listeners to know that I gave I gave it my all to to first get these two uh fuckers to or like I I I've I've I think I've spoken 20 times to the board, might might be a bit exaggerated, but I spoke back at least a hundred times to the board to convince them we need both of them, we need them, uh talk again, uh whatever, whatever, whatever.
- 9:29SPEAKER_03: Then they came and picked, I even picked Philip up from the airport, I showed him around.
- 9:33SPEAKER_03: I went went to I I drank coffee with the guys, like I gave it by all, and after a year they said, you know what, fuck you, you we're going back to England.
- 9:41SPEAKER_03: The weather is probably nicer.
- 9:43SPEAKER_03: Um, but let's leave it at that.
- 9:46SPEAKER_03: But this weekend playoffs, we play Blumendau plays Rotterdam.
- 9:51SPEAKER_03: Uh will be uh two games, so it won't be like a best of three, it will be just two games, Champions League style.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: Uh no um away goals that count double or anything, it's just uh heads up if you um the aggregate aggregate score of two games um decides, and uh we first play away at Kampong, and then we uh hopefully can finish it off uh at OR.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: Amazing.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: I was wondering that because I couldn't find that information out.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: It is total aggregate score over two games.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Like you said, the other game is Rostam versus Blumendaal, and then in the women's side, we should say that that Campong are playing Denbos and SCHC are playing Amsterdam.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Um, it's it's like you say, the playoffs is huge, I think, for anyone who can you know tune in, watch the highlights because I guarantee it's gonna be some amazing atmospheres and um some top hockey.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Ames, you got anything?
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: Uh no, just that I'm very excited to watch that this weekend, I must admit.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: Um, I was just gonna ask, are you putting any more stands around the club for um Monday?
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they they they're gonna build stands on the other side of the of like the of the clubhouse.
- 11:04SPEAKER_03: It's like uh I think I read today it's like 2,500 people can uh sit on those stands.
- 11:09SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 11:10SPEAKER_03: Um tickets are already gone pretty wild.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: It's like there are there's already 2,000 tickets sold or something like that.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: Um there's like there's like this young guy in our team, his name is Shaki.
- 11:21SPEAKER_03: He's like 18 18 years old, and his best friend went to Belgium to get fireworks, which are not uh allowed at the club, but he's gonna go just outside the club with any bought for like a hundred something euros of fireworks, so it's gonna be uh it's gonna be epic.
- 11:35SPEAKER_03: Like it's been six years.
- 11:36SPEAKER_03: Like we we Einhof is waiting for some success and also playoffs.
- 11:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Also, it did make me if anyone's on Instagram and they look on the OR uh Instagram, they've done a really cool reel of like the history of uh like the club and their playoff history, and it just looked absolutely insane.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: And uh yeah, it did make me 100% jealous.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: But I am 100% rooting for you guys.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Um I'm backing back in the boys, and yeah, we hope it's gonna go well this time next week.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, we're talking about you going to the finals.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Next next bit of news we'll just touch very quickly on is that uh Barry Middleton's become their new head coach of the Serbiton.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Normally I'd talk to Brendan about this because we've got you know another Serbiton guy, but you know, uh the carousel in England keeps on going with the head coaches moving around.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: We've got a a a ex head coach of Holcomb slash assistant coach of Holcomb.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: What what are your movements, David?
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: What are you doing?
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: Oh well, on the spot.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: This is what we do.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: I didn't plan for that.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: I was thinking Noah Rilks is a nice guy, he's gonna leave that light.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: No, no.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: David we ran David Goodfield a couple of weeks ago.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: We we want answers.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: So you can either say, no, I don't know, maybe I'll do this, maybe I'll do that.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Maybe you're going back to OR, you know, you've been in contact.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, what an announcement that had been.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, a few uh a few things maybe waiting on the pipeline.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: Um I can't just say yet.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: Uh give me a couple of days, Rupe, so then I can maybe um give you a a better answer.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: So if you're saying if I if I call you on the pod next week, you'll give me an answer.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll give you an answer.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: We're gonna definitely call you on the pod.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: We might even get us back, huh?
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Like who knows?
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we we need to we need to call uh good as well at some point because he owes an answer as well.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Probably for Serban it's a it's a great signing.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: Um you know, a club which has got a lot of ambition, which do really well every year, um, which you know hold their junior junior clubs and their junior system to probably the highest degree in in our um in our country.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: And especially for Baz, who's going in there with uh with a new face, but also you know recognizable around our country and being able to deliver uh youth players uh in terms of like an under-21, under 18, he's gonna fit in there uh really well.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: So um, yeah, hoping that he does uh the best um for those guys.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: And Ames, I'm gonna pass straight over to you because let's put your let's let's you've you've done your research.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Can you give us a roundup of Belgian and German leagues quickly?
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh Belgian playoff finals this uh sorry, last weekend passed, Gantsoil Mann won uh for the second year in a row.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: Uh a nine-four aggregate win over the Wattcoks, which is um yeah, pretty pretty strange.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: A 7-2 win in the first leg, which is pretty unheard of for a final to be that far far apart.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Um two years.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: What do you think of a two-day final?
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: I I was thinking, you know, in football they always do like the the the two legs, and then in the final it's like a spectacle, it is the final.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: What do you make of that?
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Because UPO do that in the Dutch league, and obviously they do it in the Belgian league.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: What do what do you make of it, Aimsy?
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: Um to be honest, I quite liked it.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: Um it's nice to have probably what is it, four, two finals, men's and women's, and then two bronze men's and women's over the course of two days.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: It's pretty nice to get packed out packed out crowds.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: Belgium obviously do that as well as the Dutch do for their club system as well.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: So um just watching a few of the highlights, it looked it looked as good as as it can be, essentially.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: It was just a bit of an odd scoreline, especially for the men.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Um, you don't see an aggregate that high.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah.
- 15:28SPEAKER_03: And and of course then uh Guntvas Gantvas didn't even like they got they got in.
- 15:34SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't say lucky, but they yeah, they were extremely lucky to get in.
- 15:38SPEAKER_03: They were fifth at the final uh uh uh game day, and Braxcata, who were fourth at that moment, played the number last.
- 15:47SPEAKER_03: Uh Whitestar, who are relegated, who were already uh relegated, and but they drew on the final day against Whitestar, and because of that, Gantras got in at the fourth spot, played Leopold, who were up all year, uh won 7-2, and then they won the first game 7-1 against uh against uh Waterloo Ducks.
- 16:08SPEAKER_03: So it was already over before the second uh game started.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that is that is wild, isn't it?
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: I would say quite a few times in the in the history that I can think.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: The fourth place tends to do quite well.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: Like the zero pressure on the last year at the door.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we won it, Wimbledon won it a couple of times from fourth place, it was pretty good.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: And then Ames more uh more German stuff.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: Uh I'll I'll sorry, I'll finish with a woman.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: They'll be leaving the woman like things foot.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: Uh Gantwell win against was a double men and women.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: They went for the uh fourth year in a row, which is um pretty remarkable to be honest.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Um, a 3-2 win and then a 2-1 loss, give them a 5-3 uh aggregate score.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: So they both teams qualify for the HL final eight and final twelve.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: The uh dragons finished third, so they win their bronze medal, but they don't get to go to the HL because Leopold won the Belgian league.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, which is obviously pretty strange for not having Leopold in the final considering the money and players that they have.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Um bit strange.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Uh what Docks Women finished third.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Uh and then we move to Germans.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Leopold Leopold have also just announced that they're signing Onana and Ah, what's his name?
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: There's a yeah, that's the one.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Bonastra from Spain.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: Spanish guy.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: Yes, there's a couple of tasty signings there as well.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: Just uh, I mean, spend some more money, I guess.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: That's the way to do it, isn't it?
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: You'd know.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: Um Germans.
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: What did you say?
- 17:37SPEAKER_02: Well done to you, David.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Uh Germans, big news, Phil.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you'll be um well, maybe delighted both of you on this pod considering um not hatred for the for the Grand Bushes, but just the you know, the volume of uh of talk they can give to the umpires.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: Rottweiss will not be in the EHL for the first time in 12 years.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Uh didn't make it to the final four, which is uh pretty remarkable for that team.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Uh we have Club de Alster and Hamburger Polo in a semi-final, so a Hamburg uh Classic or Hamburg Derby.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: And then we also have Kreffielder against Mannheim.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: Um that is Velen's side.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: So yeah, he's always going to do well, isn't he?
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: Whenever they're always going to do well whenever you've got Velen on your side against um Gonzalo Payat for uh for a final place.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so yeah, it should be interesting.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Nice, nice.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, we'll we'll probably go into that a bit next week as well.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: But I mean, let's clarify a couple of things.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: We don't hate the Grambush boys, we have handed them many awards.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: We've also spoken very nicely about them, but but you know, when you have a team as stacked as Rottweiss and you're not making the final four, I I don't know what's happened there.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: I don't follow the German League very much.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: But you have you got any takes there?
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: No, I say I I uh like for me, Tom Grambusch is uh is top-class entertainment.
- 18:55SPEAKER_03: Uh it's the it's the epitome of shithousery.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: Uh, if you I think you could write a book about all the shit he's done.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: So I'm I'm a big fan of his, not not particularly of his of his hockey game, but like more of his like his antics.
- 19:09SPEAKER_03: Uh and Mats Grambus, I think, is one of the best midfielders there is.
- 19:12SPEAKER_03: So like we we love him, but they they they you have to admit they're the biggest pain in the ass.
- 19:17SPEAKER_03: Coming from me, they're the biggest pain in the ass a referee could have in the game.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: And before we go to a break, Ames, have you uh listened to my idea about the one-on-one tournament?
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: Yes, and and do you have um would you like to change anything about that?
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: Have you got any ideas to move that forward?
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: And and lastly, what do you think about who would would you do well in it?
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: And who do you think will be well in it in the world?
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: David, come on.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: You would be incredibly shit at it.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: I would be, yeah, I wouldn't even put myself forward, let's be honest.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, although I'd be creedy, I would be creedy.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, okay.
- 19:58SPEAKER_03: Let's not really image would I change anything?
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: To be honest, the only thing I would like to see uh ropes is like a top international with a player that hasn't got that caliber, so say like a North Conference player.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: So you play a bit of a I know you're talking about 1v1, but a 2v2, just to see how that would pan out.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: Um someone just not as good with someone that is very good.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Um I I still think keepers would have a big say as to what essentially goes on, but um, I actually really liked your idea.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: Should be um could be quite fun.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: That's that could could draw some some crowds.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: You're getting closer to loving your five, five, um, five one fives, aren't you?
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, turning up to the world.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: Um I'm a little bit of a convert now to hockey fives, apart from they just need to change all of their rules and then up and then I'm in.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: And sorry, so to finish off, the only guys that I think I would hate to play against, and I know you brought up Warty and Worty would be, yeah, fuck that would be a nightmare.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: But I just think those Indians, in terms of like, yeah, you spoke about hitting through you, but like the amount of like fake hits to then just half a step and then just cream it as hard as they could.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: I just that's not for me.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: And that's probably part of the reason why I wouldn't join it, is just because I wouldn't want to be faced against um against those guys.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: So you against you against you, uh, it's first to three.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Who who wins?
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: Uh you wins 3-2 because he's running down the right-hand side baseline.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: Probably there isn't there isn't there isn't the room.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: He can't build up screen.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: You've whacked him, you've rookie tackled him.
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: That's what we need to clarify.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: There is uh there is no, and we want to make it abundantly clear.
- 21:33SPEAKER_03: There are no, it's not in my my advantage.
- 21:35SPEAKER_03: It's it's it speaks very much.
- 21:37SPEAKER_03: The field is very small, so it there's like no SSC coach involved.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: You don't have to be dead fit, you just need to be very like we're going for pure flair.
- 21:45SPEAKER_03: I spoke to Tys van Dom about it.
- 21:47SPEAKER_03: He already said, Yeah, not my game.
- 21:49SPEAKER_03: So it's like we're talking about like the the yeah, don't don't get don't get on your high horse fill, but we're talking about like the fill rope, Jorit Kraft, Jonas de Gus, uh uh every Indian player.
- 22:02SPEAKER_03: Stefan Vanas is like a very he would be extremely good at it.
- 22:06SPEAKER_03: You need I'd like like we said the knock-on feels that you also need to defend every once in a while, which he's never done in his like third 10 year career at England.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: Well this actually comes on very nicely.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: First of all, I wanted to introduce timeouts to uh to the to the game.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: That's what I've been thinking to to even give more more rest to the to the people who need fitness.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: And also Ames is is here for another reason and that is because you know we said who would you most like to play with and I said Toby Halker.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Well I need to be slightly nice to Ames because basically he has looked after me for the past seven years of my career in terms of when I don't defend or when I don't sort it out he sorts it out for me.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: So I am incredibly grateful.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: And you know you've occasionally got to give people their love.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: Like if you don't play with Ames you don't quite understand what you get from it and that is a yeah just a fucking beast who does not let people pass down will is also pretty incredibly talented.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: You don't become a GB in England captain for nothing I guess but you know on to the onto the harder stuff we're gonna come back after the break.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Maybe we can still maybe we can still ask Aim G um who would he think would like if you had to bet on who you'd you'd think would win because we did that last week right I just said we're coming back after the break you we're coming back after the break and we're back you you got nothing to say it's been a while since you've called me yeah okay I thought we would fill up part one a little bit more but you went and went on your own again you now everyone knows what Let's stick together is at Phil always acts like he's a little bitch and like always like oh yeah I have to do everything he's he's the dictator of this podcast he decides what goes on and not don't ever come at me with oh you don't prepare you don't do this you don't do this you're the fucking one and only guy who decides anything I'm fine with it but don't ever bitch again to me about uh initiative and shit go on Philip it's clear to me that we miss we miss Brendan what what what the hell has this how has happened here aims aims you need to means you call me aims you need to be game i'm gonna I'm gonna deflect this onto you right pro league we're gonna touch on it because it's coming back next week for anyone who doesn't know we've had a a big break there was a load of fixtures through uh December and then February in India um and we thought we'd do a very small preview uh of of what's going on um you giving you some time to calm down while I monologue for a little bit um you see what I mean it's it's a dictatorship he gives his own monologue again right come on let's be friends again all right okay the the deal with the pro league is uh there's a huge summer block uh the women at the moment the the first top three at the moment is the women shockingly Netherlands women have won 12 out of 12 uh china women are in second and argentina in third in the men the netherlands are top uh they they've uh they've got 26 points Australia and India are just behind them there is a huge amount of variety between how many games teams have played uh the Netherlands have played the most with 12 on each side um but but yeah we've got some really amazing fixtures coming up which hopefully people are going to tune in and watch to come down to Lee Valley uh if you're in the London area and watch us we got some weekends sold out Phil have we we've got yeah sold out weekends wow that is actually good maybe a first yeah I mean we the that is the first and second of June and the 8th and 9th of June where we we play some teams that I don't know at the moment Ireland and India and Australia and someone else yeah Spain we're we're sold out so I mean that's amazing you still there are weekday tickets available we are working for GB hockey now it turns out so go on there and get your tickets but what would you guys say you're looking forward to with the pro league coming back what are your takeaways what are you what you who you're looking forward to playing I'll come uh aim z first uh to be honest I think so we're both probably looking forward to some games it's been a while since we played since uh since January um and yeah looking forward to hopefully some nice weather pack stands from uh from the weekends like we've said and uh it'll be interesting I think for the next uh next few weeks with all these games as to what people show given uh given Paris is is pretty close and getting closer and closer each day um from like a corner routine point of view like are they gonna play any youngsters um who's gonna be chopping and changing etc to make sure that nobody is uh showing anything which they don't want to show come uh come July but yeah looking forward to it really am great you p yeah we only play four because we've played a shitload of games in the winter in uh in uh siberia as uh rookeda siberia oh potato potato potato um and um you'd meet some players in si you'd meet some players in siberia you didn't want to you you've sent there you don't want to see though yeah yeah I've sent a shitload of players to Siberia I do think they would choose siberia over Rukela to be honest but let's leave it at that um I would I would uh I we play Germany and we play uh Belgium uh which will be weird games because uh um we play Germany in the pool um just like you guys will play uh no you don't have a lot you only have Spain you will you will face in the pool at Prodig I think oh you also play Germany and Belgium I think right yeah uh yeah play everyone you'll be in the project it's a bit similar to AMZ I'm curious what kind of games I think we will play with our Olympic selection um and we'll play with 16 uh I think to to practice the new uh um substitute schedule no now you say it um so yeah it will be it will be like we we will I think we will look at them at like as like pure practice games as then we want to test some shit out and uh um more like the practical side uh we do want to win because we have a uh a title to defend um we are I think the only nation who really cares about pro league um so yeah you have a you are quite blessed I guess that you've played a nice amount of games and then you can maybe go into them four games like you say with already your team decided uh you don't probably have any pressure on people getting picked or not because they've already got picked so that's that's kind of a nice position to be in I think probably every other team has probably got you know might not know who's going to Paris what's going on there which I think could create a as Ames's already said like a really fun dynamic slash interesting dynamic as to what people are showing who's playing uh you know the Germans never tend to care they just send anyone and then they'll turn up at the Olympics and be good we always know that's going to happen um those are the teams who tend to not mix it up as much but who uh Ames who are you most looking forward to playing um probably the Aussies I reckon I think out of anyone probably that we've watched over the last months they probably had a bit of a dip this time last year I reckon probably weren't playing at their best I definitely feel like they are starting to make some good headway towards the summer uh five wins against India on their home patch a few months ago is pretty pretty good so yeah GB versus Australia is always uh always a tasty one I had a friend had a friend from Australia who uh messaged me the other day saying do the Aussies get an allocation of tickets for their players and I was just like you've got to be fucking kidding me Big Lad we'd probably rather give them to the Germans than give them to the to the Aussies so yeah that's um he was just like oh I was just looking to come and watch because I'm in London for the weekend I was like you've got no chance I don't know I don't know what you're talking about.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: I'm going for coffee with Jacob Wetton he's gonna have a great time is it is it really like you say England or Australia GB is a tasty one is it really though have you guys won against them in the last 10 games you've played you guys always lose against Australia right Phil you're looking very frowned you you guys never win against Australia we beat I thought we beat them I thought you beat them when I was uh away last year in in uh oh yeah we beat them yeah last year in the Premier League in New Zealand yeah they had they had that one there right um yeah they did Eddie Okinton was playing so that's that counts I think what what Ames meant is whether the result is uh is important or not there's not a huge amount of love lost I think when you have your teams that you like can be friendly with or you know like you you you've openly said how much you love playing us with like a like a smile on your face is that I think maybe Ames I don't want to put words in your mouth but I love playing Australia because you get like a bit of a ding dong and like they always play hard you don't particularly like playing them but you love playing them that makes no sense at all but it does in my head.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah it also just from a nation point of view it capitalises the R sport doesn't it like cricket uh football hockey etc like there's just so many sports where that rivalry is so big um and so yeah that should be that should be a tasty one for those those two weekends.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: You've you got you you you you're only playing Germany and and Belgium left so I can't really ask you that question.
- 32:04SPEAKER_03: Do you think you that the Dutch women are going to lose a game or draw a game I I I know they're not gonna lose a single game they might they might draw one by excellence um because they had food poisoning and the half the team got sick then they might draw one otherwise they're going to win their remaining fixtures.
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: I'd love to put a bet on with you but I really really don't want to because I feel like I'd lose like they are just too good it's like they're just they're just too fucking good.
- 32:43SPEAKER_03: We've spoken about it a lot of times uh um they're just too good yeah also when when uh they've just retired obviously we've already I think we already spoke about it a few weeks ago but they've just retired Ava Drummond who got an amazing send off by the way uh HCC it was really cool to cool to see um someone in hockey get such a big send off where they stop time with 90 seconds to go they put banners up it's it's really cool but still like someone who's still clearly as good as like she's clearly good enough to go and win another gold medal um the sentimentality within me would have been like Paul Van As please just get her on the plane and give her a fifth Olympics and a fourth gold medal that would have been nice what do you think of that you yeah 100% agree I think but that that's the thing I think there's a lot of there's a lot more there were probably two or three girls who who who are not going to Olympics who would who would have easily been good enough and would have easily gotten the gold olympic medal if they would have gone but that's the that's the thing um it's like don't get me wrong it's not the case but it's uh it's almost more of a achievement to get into the selection of the Dutch uh women's team now than it is for them winning our tournament I think Olympics will be different because all the teams will be as fit as they can be and uh we're we're like always making a bit of a joke out of it but I do think um teams will give them a bit more of a run for their money than they have been in the past but yeah they're just on another level I agree and I we should touch on it because we kind of laughed at the start but I think it's actually amazing that um Lee Valley is is sold out for four fixtures out of out of the eight there is a really like we're grateful for anyone who's coming down and watching us because they do create uh started creating a really amazing atmosphere to play in front of um and and yeah I am absolutely buzzing to get back and pull the shirt on you know a couple of months of injury of a five months since we actually played a game to to go and play and it doesn't matter like we've bitched about the pro league but it's still playing against one of the top teams in the world the top teams in the world and and uh playing in front of a huge crowd is going to be pretty amazing um you how do you feel about playing at Lee Valley do you like playing at Lee Valley?
- 34:55SPEAKER_03: I'd love Lee Valley it's fucking it's the only it's the only place I've ever played caps in England I've never played anywhere else than in at Lee Valley.
- 35:04SPEAKER_03: So um I I like it but it's more that I like always coming to England and the the last couple times I went there were like I have no clue what their names were but like these these like students who were there and giving me well not shit but they were just yelling at me and I yelled back at them and they thought it was funny I thought it was funny so that's what that's my like what I still my f affiliation with with Lee Valley so I like it.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: And Amesy you uh you pretty buzzing to to walk the lads out do the things put the armband on how much of a special feeling is that for you uh yeah very special roots uh you all know that as well having done it many times it's uh it's a nice feeling especially at home um and especially given that we're gonna have pack dye crowds and sold eye cards that's gonna be pretty nice and hopefully are you having indie doing mascot again I don't know I think I'm gonna have both you can have both wow yeah one more I've got my work out yeah that should be nice that should be nice but yeah no it's uh it's always special isn't it um yeah especially with the group we've got at the minute it's uh it's good fun so hopefully hopefully we're gonna have enjoyable a few weeks down at Lee Valley and um have some good buzz around the piss and pick up some good wins yeah and and last last serious question for you Amesy before we uh move on to the stupid stuff and we go into the coupe like we've talked Olympic selection a few weeks ago we've talked uh the build up to to Paris you're obviously going for your third Olympics um do you have any like words of wisdom like how are you approaching the next couple of months how um you know I it's it's an odd place to be but like I'm sure there's loads of people listening who'll be absolutely uh like very intrigued to hear your thoughts on the next couple of months and how you're approaching uh an Olympic Games and especially like you said with the with the group we've got yeah to be honest I'm not really thinking about it too much having had some injuries and setbacks again um and pretty much just trying to get get back on a pitch and playing some hockey um yeah the the the hardest thing is probably not is sorry is thinking about it um and just worrying constantly day to day about um selection and the pressure of that and um I think probably over the years I've got to a little bit more mature and growing up to not always think about it and just allowing my hockey to do the talking essentially um and that is probably a little bit down to the group we have at the minute you've probably noticed as well I don't think we really speak about it anymore in comparison to what we what we did years and years ago where we it was almost always brought up in in meetings etc so I think that probably helps as well that um we don't talk about it that often we just fucking get on with it and and chase chase the ball around around the pitch getting shouted at so um yeah yeah and and then last silly question you when you play against Aimzy have you ever tried to get in Aimz head have you ever tried to go and have a chat with him and how's that gone for you?
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: He's too far away he's always uh he's in his circle I'm I'm like sometimes on the right but he's not nowhere close to me so I I don't really face Aimzy like I always give him a real big hug after the game and to his credit he always gives a real hug like when when you hug Aimzy you know he means it that's like some people just hug you out of out of out of being polite with Ames it's like you really if there's love there which which he's also made clear and I'm gonna like cherish that moment forever.
- 38:25SPEAKER_01: But I had a I had one more question for Ames will you if you're um you play Ireland do they like uh do they like give you they give you love or they're like at the at the huddle or like at the the giving the handshakes are like trader trader trader fuck you or is it or is it like good with you uh no that's that's definitely uh simmered down you be uh I think when I first declared a jump ship essentially that was um not a fun time yeah for from a couple of the guys um but to be fair nowadays most of those guys didn't play whenever I started so you know and I didn't really have any um company with those guys whenever I was playing essentially so um no is the answer to be honest we did have some fun back in 2017 though didn't we we had some real good run-ins with the uh with the Irish where like we were enduring Amsterdam in 2017 that's only two years ago two years post Ames moving and I think uh you had you had a you had a scuffle with Shane O'Donohue um and then and then we also have Mark Glegoon in our team who was northern Irish who'd moved over and just there was I can categorically say there was like there was there was definitely a little bit more bite in them games wasn't there yeah there was there was that was that was whenever Cleggy acted as hardest didn't he he had to had to try and be the the big guy of the group and pretty much was putting his brother's shadow as soon as that uh scrap broke out in Malaysia I think I remember correctly I think his brother chased him 75 yards just to push him over so that he could almost like power on himself over over uh Mark so funny.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: So the context there where we were at the Iceland Shah and uh the Gleghorns uh used to play for Ireland and England and one Gleghorn moved from Ireland so they played against each other a few times and we had a bit of a scrap in 2018 and there's a huge bat numbers in the D but it was like yeah like Ames said 70 yards away from Paul Gleghorn and you've just we've got the video of it of him running sprinting because he sees a scuffle just to find his brother and give him a dig and push him over our Gleghorn then turns around like who the fuck's that and sees that it's his brother and they both just like have a good laugh about it and then like walk on absolutely priceless.
- 40:53SPEAKER_00: Right we uh Brendan to his credit put out some uh guilty pleasures um we you wanted to know what everyone's guilty pleasure was and we put it out to the listeners got some very disturbing ones back which we might read out in a little bit but you I want you to kick us off here what's your what's your guilty pleasure that you're gonna offer us because you you can't offer it to us and then not give us one do you want it the guilty pleasure or the confession either one mate either one yeah the confession is and our SNC coach uh knows it uh is that I take uh sometimes I take warm-up shits so uh what I do is I I hate warm up uh I don't it takes too long and I don't really uh value it as much as others do so I don't do it anymore I like not often I I occasionally sometimes do but I used to like hold in my shit uh for warm up and then when warm-up started I would uh go to match and say oh I met I really have to shit and he looked at me like not a fucking game you fucking knob and then I went to the toilet that took like a five minute shit so I didn't have to do most of the warm-up so that was that's that was my confession and Phil thought it was like really weird but I thought it was quite genius to be honest.
- 42:12SPEAKER_01: Because you know you can't you can't like say it to everyone you're going to take a shit and then not take a shit because it won't smell so you have to like commit um so yeah who's testing you on that who's who's really you're bringing someone with you into the pattern but like if someone has to go pee afterwards if someone has to go and then pee like I always leave skid noise as well that's not true that's a joke but yeah so that was my uh it's kind of a guilty pleasure as well like it's not only a confession it's also kind of a guilty pleasure I love the way I I love the way that uh serious part one uh it normally is in this uh this pod and then all of a sudden it just goes straight down hills so quickly in part three I do wonder how many of it how many people just turn it off when I say and we're back and then it should like I think that's exactly what I mean when I was sitting in the car thinking yeah this is the perfect time to switch this shit off like I honestly think a lot of people will say that like but then like a lot of people will like tune in for part two that's my belief that's right that's where I thrive part two.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: Maybe we'll put a poll out on Instagram we can be like are you a part one or a part two yeah that's a really good ask people if they're a part and then they we we will know exactly what kind of person they are yeah yeah because you would guess would you we would know that Ames would be a part one or he'd be like oh kind of intrigued what's the hockey news like maybe they talk some amount of sense and then you'd be like for fuck's sake what the shit what the hell is this well yeah like flowers waterpool he's like a part to her he's really he's ready for part two Um, Ames, if have you got a guilty pleasure?
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: I'll put I don't want to put you on the spot, so if you don't, it's okay.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: No, the only uh well, I think I think a lot of people know I love my cereal.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: Um, cocoa pops is my absolute favorite.
- 44:14SPEAKER_01: So that is something I pretty much have religiously every night before bed.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: Um that if there was anything to be taken away in my life, that would be one of the last things that I would have taken away.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: Um 100%.
- 44:26SPEAKER_01: So that's probably my my guilty pleasure.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you do start twitching knowing you quite well when it gets to like 9 p.m.
- 44:32SPEAKER_00: and you there's no cocoa pops in sight.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: You're like, like what's wrong with Ames?
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: It's like oh, he doesn't have his cocoa pops.
- 44:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you you have another guilty pleasure with fresh a fresh grip.
- 44:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I don't know if it's a pleasure or just I know no one who who who gets a clean grip every match.
- 44:55SPEAKER_03: Shout out to Gribbit.
- 44:56SPEAKER_03: It's it's it's uh yeah, gribbit is your guilty pleasure.
- 45:00SPEAKER_03: It can also be called neurotic, but I let's call it a guilty pleasure.
- 45:06SPEAKER_00: I was trying to think of one, and I was I was struggling a little bit, but the only one I can think of is like when I'm having some downtime with my daughter, and we'd be like, Oh, we're gonna put some TV on.
- 45:18SPEAKER_00: And now because she's young and very impressionable, she'd be like, Oh, can we watch?
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: She'd be like, Oh, Paul Patrol.
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: And if I don't like it, I'll be like, No, that's not on right now.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: And then I'll be like, Wreck it Ralph's on.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: Um Toy Story, I like Toy Story, Tangled, they're on, and I just say that all the films that I like until she says, Yes, I want that one.
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: It's like, no, that one's not on right now.
- 45:40SPEAKER_00: No, is that a confession?
- 45:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's such a good confession.
- 45:47SPEAKER_03: And then guilty pleasure.
- 45:49SPEAKER_03: I also have a guilty, I have another one.
- 45:51SPEAKER_03: That's uh that's um that I really like uh like uh female um yeah, I call it focally or female singers.
- 46:02SPEAKER_03: Not not in not in that way, but like I really like like uh um Shania Twain or like Britney Spears, or like they make some fucking bangers, like yeah, like retro, uh like 80s, uh 90s, 2000s, like uh man.
- 46:18SPEAKER_03: I feel like a woman, I would like full on in the car, like sing that uh or feel uh I would full on sing that that tune, you know what I mean?
- 46:27SPEAKER_03: Or uh Britney Spears songs.
- 46:30SPEAKER_03: That is that is like a full guilty pleasure of mine.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: I think I think also we've got to do Brendan's because he did tell us them.
- 46:37SPEAKER_01: And uh was it something something into sock or something you spoke about last week?
- 46:41SPEAKER_01: That was probably one of us.
- 46:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean he said he watches Age of Empire videos because they're therapeutic, and then I was like, Jesus Christ, this is bad.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: And then he was like, Oh, I also well, I was I added for him that he watches Pokemon like tutorial videos on YouTube.
- 46:59SPEAKER_00: Now he said he was proud of that one, but he wasn't ashamed of it.
- 47:03SPEAKER_03: That's the best part.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: He said he's he said that's not a confession or a guilty pleasure, and I was like, You need to have a serious word with yourself, mate.
- 47:11SPEAKER_00: What what on earth is happening?
- 47:14SPEAKER_00: Brendan, we miss you.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: But Jesus, Jesus, and now we'll get into just a couple.
- 47:20SPEAKER_00: Do you want do you want the hockey ones or the disturbing ones?
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: Um for that people have put in anonymously on our Instagram story.
- 47:29SPEAKER_03: Well, let AMC choose because you know my answer.
- 47:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, let's go disturbing.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: The first one, I like the smell of my own thoughts.
- 47:39SPEAKER_00: I thought that's that's pretty weird.
- 47:41SPEAKER_00: Uh I do as well.
- 47:49SPEAKER_00: Um pissing in the sink, it just feels right.
- 47:55SPEAKER_02: But let's let's you gotta you gotta you cannot go when you when you're like when you when you fart in the bedroom and you're under the blankets, you you cannot not sniff, right?
- 48:05SPEAKER_02: You gotta know what's going on, right?
- 48:09SPEAKER_00: Let it let it simmer the smell.
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: So someone, I mean, let's just say the best one.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: Someone said ball patrolling and the club mascot at the age of 50.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: That's that's a bit strange, but but thank you for sending it in.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: Someone else said uh he likes hot chocolate powder straight from the tin, and then he added, no water, just spit, and it tastes so good.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, uh, yeah, I don't know what to do.
- 48:35SPEAKER_00: Someone else is uh completely eclectic.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: Someone else has messed in it.
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: I'm a huge Terence Peters fan.
- 48:40SPEAKER_00: He's got the t-shirt and all.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: I don't know if that is that guilty pleasure.
- 48:44SPEAKER_00: Like, should you not like Terence Peters?
- 48:48SPEAKER_00: Telling umpires I'm hard of hearing after playing on after the whistle.
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: That's really good.
- 48:55SPEAKER_00: Uh step steps, the pop band.
- 48:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's fair enough.
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's a good one.
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:02SPEAKER_00: Uh and the player you've been dropped for having an absolute stinker and for uh like loving it.
- 49:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: Oh, we've all been there, right?
- 49:14SPEAKER_00: We're running out of time, so uh we've completely lost ourselves.
- 49:19SPEAKER_00: Ames, I thought you were gonna hold us together, but you've just let us run for this.
- 49:23SPEAKER_00: Booms.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: Uh we are going into the QQ.
- 49:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, before we go into the I want I want to give everyone a compliment who sent in their confessions.
- 49:35SPEAKER_03: They were fucking amazing.
- 49:37SPEAKER_03: I loved it.
- 49:38SPEAKER_03: All right, cute.
- 49:38SPEAKER_03: We probably lost a lot of this in this five in this five five minutes, and we're gonna lose even more after we do the coop, I think.
- 49:51SPEAKER_03: No, I actually did some I actually did some work again.
- 49:54SPEAKER_03: It's a new you season six.
- 49:56SPEAKER_03: Um so I've made like uh it's like a um a total of uh what are you seven uh seven quick fire questions, and it's um it's like this or that.
- 50:08SPEAKER_03: It's two players who you think is best, who you would take on your team.
- 50:11SPEAKER_03: You both have to make a team of seven.
- 50:14SPEAKER_03: Uh and it's um it's like um you have two central defenders, like a like a kind of half back and three midfielder slash strikers.
- 50:26SPEAKER_00: Does that mean one of us gets first pick then?
- 50:29SPEAKER_03: Just both.
- 50:30SPEAKER_03: No, you just have to choose this.
- 50:31SPEAKER_03: You can have you can have them both on your team.
- 50:33SPEAKER_03: So it's who would you choose, Dunnenberg or Sri Jesh?
- 50:38SPEAKER_03: Shri Jesh.
- 50:39SPEAKER_03: Dunnenberg.
- 50:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I would go, yeah.
- 50:41SPEAKER_03: I would I would think I would go Srijesh also for the vibes in the team.
- 50:44SPEAKER_03: Guys, guys are legend.
- 50:45SPEAKER_03: Van Doren or the Slover?
- 50:47SPEAKER_00: It's so harsh on the Slover, but I'm going Van Dor.
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: Like, like you can put basically anyone else next to him, and you're picking him, but that one guy, you're like, no, come on, Van Dor.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Van Doren as well for me.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, yeah.
- 51:02SPEAKER_03: I would I would yeah, I would struggle.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: I would think I would take the slover, but I'm very biased.
- 51:07SPEAKER_03: Um Votel Booth or Waller biased.
- 51:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you guys gotta stay stay be unbiased, like just take off your I'm a GB player glasses and does stick blocking count in this game?
- 51:25SPEAKER_03: Does what?
- 51:26SPEAKER_03: Stick blocking.
- 51:28SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, it's hockey, so yeah it counts.
- 51:31SPEAKER_03: Then wallet.
- 51:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: If stick blocking's in, I'm going for wallet too.
- 51:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I would take water bullets big surprise.
- 51:39SPEAKER_03: Uh Tom Grambush or Luis Laubach.
- 51:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's Grambush 100%.
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: I want the vibes, I want the abuse, I want the drag flicking, I want the 70 yard bombs.
- 51:51SPEAKER_00: Give it me.
- 51:54SPEAKER_03: I would just want to play on his team for once just to just to experience it from the first row.
- 51:59SPEAKER_03: Like how much of an idiot he can be.
- 52:09SPEAKER_04: He is genuinely a player.
- 52:12SPEAKER_03: Uh Kika Castellon, Gonzalez, headband guy from Spain, or Sean Findlay.
- 52:19SPEAKER_00: I mean, very rich coming from me, but two stupid headbands.
- 52:23SPEAKER_00: Uh, I'm going for because it's current, I think he's in better form.
- 52:28SPEAKER_00: I'm going for Finlay.
- 52:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you send him to Cancun and then David.
- 52:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I did send him to Cancun.
- 52:35SPEAKER_01: Gonzalez.
- 52:36SPEAKER_01: Gonzalez did he did spit on someone, didn't he?
- 52:39SPEAKER_01: When was that?
- 52:40SPEAKER_01: That was that.
- 52:42SPEAKER_01: He spit uh Finley.
- 52:44SPEAKER_01: Finley.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: I thought you were gonna be like, yeah, okay, Gonzalez.
- 52:50SPEAKER_01: What did he get?
- 52:51SPEAKER_01: Did he even get a ban?
- 52:52SPEAKER_01: Alright, yeah.
- 52:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, one game.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 52:55SPEAKER_03: Finley is an incredible format, though.
- 52:57SPEAKER_03: I would 100% take Finley.
- 52:58SPEAKER_03: He's doing really, really well.
- 53:00SPEAKER_03: Uh Vivek or Goodfield.
- 53:03SPEAKER_00: Mate, you still you needed to stop doing the English ones because we're always gonna be on our on our on our guys.
- 53:09SPEAKER_00: I'll give it.
- 53:09SPEAKER_00: I'm choosing good as every day.
- 53:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 53:14SPEAKER_03: Vivek is so fucking quick though, and he's like he's like one meter and 30 centimeters.
- 53:18SPEAKER_03: He's fucking amazing.
- 53:20SPEAKER_03: I would 100%.
- 53:22SPEAKER_03: He's so fucking cool.
- 53:24SPEAKER_03: And uh Tim Brent or Caseya?
- 53:27SPEAKER_03: Which one?
- 53:28SPEAKER_03: Tim Brent, Michael Casseya.
- 53:31SPEAKER_00: I want Caseya.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: I want Casseya.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: Uh he's he's uh yeah, he's my type of player.
- 53:38SPEAKER_03: And Tim Brandt was hair, right?
- 53:40SPEAKER_03: Glorious hair he wants to help.
- 53:42SPEAKER_00: That that that adds at least 10% onto the pick.
- 53:48SPEAKER_01: Uh I'll go 10 brand.
- 53:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think Brent is kind of he's starting to become a bit underrated.
- 53:55SPEAKER_03: I know Phil, you don't like Aussies, but so that was it.
- 53:58SPEAKER_00: Nice.
- 54:00SPEAKER_03: Love it.
- 54:01SPEAKER_03: Now now to some other do you do you guys want like random questions for the coop, or do you want um other random questions?
- 54:11SPEAKER_00: Well, let's let's have you got any hockey ones because we'll we've got we haven't got much time, so let's go with go with can we give you can you give us a give us one or two one or two and then we'll save the rest?
- 54:20SPEAKER_03: Well, I don't really have hockey ones.
- 54:22SPEAKER_03: I have I have one.
- 54:23SPEAKER_02: Would you guys play the entire Olympics with either your cock or your boss hanging out your shorts, guaranteeing a spot in the Olympic final?
- 54:33SPEAKER_02: No, no, you're guaranteed Olympic silver or gold medal, but you just have to play with your cock or your boss outside.
- 54:44SPEAKER_01: Get put in prison for indecent exposure.
- 54:47SPEAKER_03: No, no, like it's I'm not saying everyone would think it's it's completely normal what you're doing, but everyone like is it's like kind of oh yeah, that's the guy who like puts his cock out, and you're not gonna get everyone would just know you're getting a hell of a reputation, aren't you?
- 55:03SPEAKER_02: God, yeah, you're moving to PG after that, aren't you?
- 55:07SPEAKER_02: That's it, yeah.
- 55:08SPEAKER_02: Probably, but you do have like at least you're an Olympic medalist.
- 55:13SPEAKER_02: Um a no from both of you, yeah.
- 55:16SPEAKER_03: It's a no.
- 55:18SPEAKER_03: No, you guys don't really want to become Olympic.
- 55:21SPEAKER_03: That's the difference.
- 55:22SPEAKER_03: I would like to go full out, put my cock out, and just play my heart out.
- 55:26SPEAKER_03: Olympic medal secure.
- 55:28SPEAKER_03: Okay, another question: which historic team, and you could choose any sport you like, would you like to have been a part of for a season?
- 55:35SPEAKER_03: And which season?
- 55:37SPEAKER_03: So, like my answer, like I was thinking, I would really like to have been a part of uh the 20 uh 16 uh Cavaliers who came back from 3-1 against the Warriors.
- 55:48SPEAKER_04: Is there a team you would like anyone?
- 55:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, NBA, or you can also choose like to to have been a part of Leicester City when they became champions, or oh Tom Brady in in any NFL.
- 56:02SPEAKER_03: Like, what what do you think that that would have been?
- 56:04SPEAKER_03: I would like to have been a part of that team as like uh let's say a role player or uh a coach or whatever.
- 56:10SPEAKER_03: Like I'm going I'm going for sure 2016 Cavaliers to have been a part of that team, the only team to come back for 3-1 in the finals.
- 56:17SPEAKER_01: It's a bit rogue, but mas uh tiger woods' last masters win when he I don't know how long he waited to get that.
- 56:24SPEAKER_01: That would have been as a as a caddy, that would have been pretty phenomenal.
- 56:28SPEAKER_03: 2019.
- 56:29SPEAKER_01: 2019.
- 56:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's a good one.
- 56:32SPEAKER_03: Being caddy of Tiger Woods, yeah, that's a really good one.
- 56:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, I got a bit of a soft spot for them, but like I mean, it's and it's very stereotypical.
- 56:40SPEAKER_00: But the all block all blacks like choose uh choose the World Cup yeah, I think they won 2015.
- 56:48SPEAKER_00: Like, like I I just love to be in that locker room and just seeing how they work.
- 56:55SPEAKER_00: That's a special place to be.
- 56:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's a good one as well.
- 56:59SPEAKER_03: I was also thinking the Liverpool side that got down 3-0 at halftime and won in the Champs League final or 4 or 5.
- 57:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, it's similar.
- 57:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, also been a good one.
- 57:08SPEAKER_03: Like shit like that.
- 57:10SPEAKER_03: Let us know, listeners.
- 57:11SPEAKER_03: Send us in.
- 57:11SPEAKER_03: Who what team do you think it would like to be a part of?
- 57:14SPEAKER_03: What email send us an email?
- 57:17SPEAKER_03: Send us an email.
- 57:18SPEAKER_03: David Ames Ploughshoop the Mole at Gmail.com.
- 57:21SPEAKER_03: Okay, final question.
- 57:23SPEAKER_03: You would you take it's gonna be have to be a quick fire.
- 57:27SPEAKER_03: Go.
- 57:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's very quick.
- 57:29SPEAKER_03: Uh, it's a yes or no.
- 57:30SPEAKER_03: Would you take uh 500,000 euros right now or 10 million, but you have to win a hole within 36 holes against Prime Tiger Woods.
- 57:41SPEAKER_00: Wait, prime tiger woods?
- 57:43SPEAKER_00: What are you talking about?
- 57:46SPEAKER_00: You're the only one with the irrational, stupid fucking confidence to think that you could win a hole.
- 57:51SPEAKER_00: 36 holes, you just have to win one.
- 57:54SPEAKER_03: You have to get one shot in play, right?
- 57:56SPEAKER_03: He he nails it into the woods.
- 57:57SPEAKER_03: It's 36 holes, and he will fuck up once.
- 58:00SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say you're waiting on his uh you're waiting on his back to give up, aren't you?
- 58:04SPEAKER_01: So he can he cannot play the wrestler, right?
- 58:07SPEAKER_02: You need to get one birdie in 36 holes and hope he doesn't birdie that one.
- 58:11SPEAKER_01: That's that's no chance, you being there's no chance.
- 58:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'll take a half a million, please, right now.
- 58:16SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: As normal, you're just stupid.
- 58:20SPEAKER_00: You're walking away with no money.
- 58:23SPEAKER_03: Okay, or same question, but you have to play against prime Roger Federer at the 50.
- 58:27SPEAKER_03: I'd have to get one point.
- 58:31SPEAKER_00: Right, guys, you can answer this at home.
- 58:34SPEAKER_00: Would you do that with Roger Federer or not?
- 58:36SPEAKER_00: I have to wrap up.
- 58:37SPEAKER_00: Firstly, David, thank you so much.
- 58:39SPEAKER_00: Uh, it's been an absolute pleasure having you.
- 58:41SPEAKER_00: You've been a hell of a replacement for Brendan.
- 58:44SPEAKER_00: Uh he'll do lucky, he'll be very lucky to make episode eight.
- 58:47SPEAKER_00: If you've got any words for the parting, or just just you're happy to go out on a start.
- 58:51SPEAKER_01: No, I'm happy.
- 58:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, keep doing what you're doing, boys.
- 58:54SPEAKER_01: It's uh great fun.
- 58:55SPEAKER_01: Thanks for having me.
