- 0:15Speaker 2: show that shares.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Life lessons and tips to help make you rich in life.
- 0:20Speaker 1: And Welcome to a glow Up episode.
- 0:24Speaker 3: I have the hiccups, so I'm trying to like, I
- 0:27Speaker 3: can feel it brewing. But today we are chatting through
- 0:31Speaker 3: our twenty five plus ways to glow up in twenty
- 0:35Speaker 3: twenty five in like mind, body looks, soul, all of it,
- 0:40Speaker 3: hot heart, especially.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Heart on we'll see I've got one right now.
- 0:49Speaker 3: But before we get into the episode, what's your obsession
- 0:53Speaker 3: of the week.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Sow, What are you obsessed with? What can you what's
- 0:56Speaker 1: living in your brain? Renk Froid?
- 0:59Speaker 4: Wow?
- 1:00Speaker 3: Do you know that people visualize the year differently?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:04Speaker 3: My god, Like that makes so much sense, but I'd
- 1:07Speaker 3: never truly thought about it.
- 1:08Speaker 4: How do you visualize the year?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Okay, I don't care. I don't care. April my birthday.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. I
- 1:18Speaker 2: don't care. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care,
- 1:20Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Christmas, Well, I'm kidding that I visualize it in couplings.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah, so January, February, March April.
- 1:30Speaker 3: So I imagine them grouped together in those two pairs, and
- 1:34Speaker 3: I see those two pairs as like very much the
- 1:37Speaker 3: same vibe, and they all have their own particular little feeling.
- 1:41Speaker 3: But yeah, it's just wild that every I had no
- 1:43Speaker 3: idea that everybody thought about the year in different ways. Yeah,
- 1:47Speaker 3: but I feel like we can all collectively say, January,
- 1:50Speaker 3: you feel every thirty one days of January, you feel
- 1:53Speaker 3: every seventy three days of January, you feel the whole
- 1:56Speaker 3: year in January.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Okay, well, what's your obsession?
- 1:58Speaker 1: So?
- 1:59Speaker 2: A new study has found that couples who spend more
- 2:02Speaker 2: on their wedding and engagement rings are.
- 2:05Speaker 1: More likely to divorce. No way, So.
- 2:08Speaker 2: A study by economists Andrew Francis Tan and Hugo M.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Milon found that couples who spend more on their weddings
- 2:15Speaker 2: and engagement rings.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Are more likely to divorce. Higher spending on rings and
- 2:19Speaker 1: lavish weddings increases the risk, while more modest celebrations are
- 2:24Speaker 1: linked to lower divorce rates. Wow.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Interesting, right, I wonder if some of that comes from
- 2:32Speaker 2: secondary marriages, because whenever I've spoken to people who are
- 2:36Speaker 2: getting married a second time. They spent heaps of money
- 2:39Speaker 2: on their first wedding and the second time they're like.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I can't be fucking asked to do that. Yeah, Like
- 2:43Speaker 1: I wish I didn't spend that much money.
- 2:45Speaker 3: The average Australian wedding costs thirty six thousand dollars. According
- 2:51Speaker 3: to money smart Server, eighty two percent of couples dipped
- 2:53Speaker 3: into their savings to pay for their wedding, sixty percent
- 2:56Speaker 3: of couples got a loan and eighteen percent use their
- 2:59Speaker 3: credit card. The average cost of an Australian wedding is
- 3:02Speaker 3: thirty six thousand dollars for one day.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Oh on a really nice holiday for that.
- 3:08Speaker 4: But also you spend your money how you wish.
- 3:11Speaker 3: But yeah, there it's very expensive, very expensive affair. I'd
- 3:15Speaker 3: be booking things in and like not saying it's for
- 3:17Speaker 3: a wedding.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I think there's a wedding tax.
- 3:19Speaker 3: There's like the wedding tax that like when you go
- 3:21Speaker 3: to a cake maker or a dressmaker or something and
- 3:25Speaker 3: you book it in and then apparently as soon as
- 3:27Speaker 3: you say it's for a wedding, they like the price
- 3:31Speaker 3: gets increased significantly.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I would do the exact same thing, like
- 3:36Speaker 1: for my sirch it's for my thirty seventh christening. Yeah,
- 3:41Speaker 1: it's a white cake.
- 3:44Speaker 4: With a little man and woman on the top.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Cat get amazing.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Well there you go.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Shit, maybe it's a good idea to spend a little less, Yeah,
- 3:56Speaker 3: to ensure your love lasts long. Like if I I
- 4:00Speaker 3: I got married, I'd probably have a wedding, But I.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Don't want to spend that much money.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I would love to know how much did the chicks
- 4:09Speaker 2: who are married spend on their wedding? How much did
- 4:13Speaker 2: you spend on your wedding? And if you had your
- 4:15Speaker 2: time over, would you spend that much money?
- 4:18Speaker 3: Again, if you're listening on Spotify, put how much you
- 4:21Speaker 3: did spend?
- 4:23Speaker 4: Put your answer to that question in the comments place.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I want to see you.
- 4:26Speaker 4: We want the juicy heart girls.
- 4:29Speaker 1: And if you spend a lot of money, did you
- 4:31Speaker 1: get divorced?
- 4:32Speaker 4: Yees?
- 4:34Speaker 1: Divorce? Shall we get into the episode?
- 4:36Speaker 4: Let's do it all right?
- 4:43Speaker 2: My first way to go to go leaving, My first
- 4:48Speaker 2: way to blow up in twenty twenty five is to
- 4:51Speaker 2: get a tongue scraper. Now, this is an un sexy
- 4:55Speaker 2: product and it's been discussed many times on the internet,
- 4:59Speaker 2: and I said, absolutely influenced.
- 5:01Speaker 1: But it was always one of those things that I.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Was like, oh, I should get one of those, and
- 5:05Speaker 3: I just didn't get one for like literally a fucking year.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Like I was like, I.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Really want to get one, I really want to get one.
- 5:10Speaker 3: And I finally got one.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And I love it. I love her. I got a
- 5:15Speaker 1: bit excited.
- 5:16Speaker 3: The first time I used it and I drew blood,
- 5:18Speaker 3: So don't go too too hard. And it did freak
- 5:21Speaker 3: me out a little bit when you can see all
- 5:22Speaker 3: like the individual taste buds.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I'm not doing a good cell here, am I.
- 5:26Speaker 3: But tongue scraping removes seventy nine percent more bacteria than brushing.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Wow.
- 5:33Speaker 2: And a study also found that scraping your tongue is
- 5:37Speaker 2: more effective at reducing bad breath and the bacteria that
- 5:42Speaker 2: causes like bad breath odor than brushing. So if you
- 5:46Speaker 2: want to have like minty, fresh, gorgeous breath all the time, get.
- 5:50Speaker 1: A tongue scraper. And also it feels amazing.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I was gonna say, feel so clean, so clean, and
- 5:56Speaker 3: I lab that.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I want to get one.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Influenced.
- 5:59Speaker 2: It was, honestly I got it was eight dollars on Amazon.
- 6:02Speaker 2: We can link the ones in our store front and
- 6:05Speaker 2: I got two, so it was four dollars each.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Oh wow, bloody bag and dad, yeah my first one.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:10Speaker 3: The rule of three styling tip. If you feel like
- 6:14Speaker 3: you're in a slump with your outfits, try using the
- 6:18Speaker 3: rule of three styling tip. It's adding three key pieces
- 6:22Speaker 3: of visual interest to your outfit. So let's say you're
- 6:25Speaker 3: wearing a pair of jeans and a white T shirt.
- 6:27Speaker 3: That doesn't count.
- 6:28Speaker 1: That's like the base of your outfit.
- 6:31Speaker 4: The three key.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Visual pieces you could add would be like an interesting jacket,
- 6:35Speaker 3: so maybe like a cool blazer with a stripe.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Through it, or a leather jacket.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Then you could do a cool pair of boots, maybe
- 6:45Speaker 3: with a pop of color. And then the third one
- 6:47Speaker 3: could be your jewelry or your belt or your sunglasses.
- 6:51Speaker 3: So it's just because I think sometimes when you're putting
- 6:53Speaker 3: together an outfit, it can be overwhelming, or you feel
- 6:56Speaker 3: like you wear the same thing all the time and
- 6:58Speaker 3: you're like, I want to mix it up without having
- 7:00Speaker 3: to buy a completely brand new thing or not know
- 7:04Speaker 3: where to start. Start with those three key pieces, and
- 7:08Speaker 3: I think that's such an easy way to add some
- 7:10Speaker 3: interest to your outfits, and also it gives you more
- 7:13Speaker 3: options when you want to rewig you're close to you.
- 7:15Speaker 3: My base outfits are always so boring. It's base outfits
- 7:18Speaker 3: in a cool jacket. Yeah, Like I'm a slut for
- 7:20Speaker 3: a jacket.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Love it.
- 7:22Speaker 3: My most common like three pieces that add visual interests
- 7:26Speaker 3: would be a cool pair of boots, good pair of sunglasses,
- 7:31Speaker 3: and then a handbag.
- 7:32Speaker 2: You do have cool handbags. You don't think jewelry you
- 7:36Speaker 2: always have cool jewelry.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I would say, yeah, I do, but I also love
- 7:42Speaker 3: to wear like classic pieces of jewelry, so like goal,
- 7:45Speaker 3: a pair of hoops, gold chain, which I do think
- 7:47Speaker 3: adds visual interest, but that is also like very classic. Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 2: My next tip is to stop pointing out your insecurities
- 7:55Speaker 2: to other people and also yourself, because people do not
- 7:59Speaker 2: notice things as much as you think you do, and
- 8:02Speaker 2: we have this tendency to like self deprecate and just
- 8:08Speaker 2: kind of push these things on other people. And when
- 8:10Speaker 2: you're pointing out your insecurities to other people and like
- 8:13Speaker 2: the thing that you don't like, they have never ever
- 8:16Speaker 2: thought that, yeah, and you're just shining a big torch
- 8:20Speaker 2: on yourself being like, look like the amount of times
- 8:24Speaker 2: I say to you, oh my god, look at this
- 8:25Speaker 2: giant fucking pimple, and you're like, I didn't even notice,
- 8:27Speaker 2: but I do now, and like you don't care, like
- 8:31Speaker 2: you're not there being.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Like you're so fucking ugly, like it will wash your face, like.
- 8:37Speaker 1: That's not what's happening.
- 8:38Speaker 3: But I think when you want to kind of be
- 8:41Speaker 3: glowing and feel confidence, that comes with also putting yourself
- 8:46Speaker 3: in a position of confidence and like self love. And
- 8:51Speaker 3: by pointing out insecurities to other people, you're not only
- 8:54Speaker 3: showing them like look, how fucking ugly. I am kidding,
- 8:57Speaker 3: but you're like pointing.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Out these things that you're put yourself lower.
- 9:01Speaker 2: And I feel like we also point them out to ourselves,
- 9:03Speaker 2: like the way that we say things about ourselves, even
- 9:06Speaker 2: in our mind or out loud and being like, oh
- 9:08Speaker 2: like I don't like the way this looks in that
- 9:10Speaker 2: or I don't like.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, you just reinforce those negatives that you have
- 9:16Speaker 3: about yourself. And then I find that when I if
- 9:20Speaker 3: I point something out to somebody or I say something loud,
- 9:24Speaker 3: then in my head I'm like, oh, now they know,
- 9:26Speaker 3: and now they're looking Yeah, or now every time like
- 9:29Speaker 3: this thing happens, like they're going to be thinking that
- 9:32Speaker 3: or I look this way, they're going to be thinking that.
- 9:33Speaker 4: It's like, no, they don't.
- 9:36Speaker 2: And I do know that there's like a nuance to
- 9:40Speaker 2: this as well, Like I don't think there's anything wrong
- 9:42Speaker 2: to me turning to you as my best friend and
- 9:44Speaker 2: being like, look at this giant fucking zip or whatever
- 9:47Speaker 2: it is. You know, Like I think there's obviously like
- 9:50Speaker 2: comfortable times and places for that, But I'm meaning like
- 9:54Speaker 2: as a daily habit, Like habits are double edged sword,
- 9:57Speaker 2: Like bad habits can cut you down just as as
- 10:00Speaker 2: good habits can build you up. And that is a habit,
- 10:03Speaker 2: a bad habit that can cut you down and like
- 10:06Speaker 2: ruin your self confidence. So I'm really trying to.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Like embody that in terms of because like I love
- 10:12Speaker 3: as self deprecating joke doll.
- 10:15Speaker 1: But is it actually making me laugh or is it
- 10:18Speaker 1: making me feel like shit?
- 10:19Speaker 4: Shit crap that hurts?
- 10:23Speaker 1: Just some truths, seriously.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Our next glow up tip this is the lazy Girl
- 10:29Speaker 3: shower hack. It's like a lazy girl beauty hack that
- 10:33Speaker 3: went literally viral, and it was to dampen your skin
- 10:36Speaker 3: in the shower. So we posted this video and it.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Literally popped off.
- 10:43Speaker 3: So our lazy girl shower hack had literally over eight
- 10:46Speaker 3: hundred thousand views. And it is essentially to use an
- 10:51Speaker 3: oil when you were getting out of the shower, so
- 10:54Speaker 3: when your skin is still wet, you put the oil
- 10:56Speaker 3: on your skin and then you dry yourself and the
- 11:00Speaker 3: absorbs into your skin so much more. It means you
- 11:02Speaker 3: don't have to moisturize when you get out of the shower.
- 11:04Speaker 3: And it's my lazy girl ride or.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Die I looa bit.
- 11:08Speaker 3: And when we posted this, the number one question was
- 11:12Speaker 3: but what oil?
- 11:13Speaker 4: But which one?
- 11:15Speaker 3: Which?
- 11:15Speaker 4: What one?
- 11:16Speaker 3: And it's actually a long story, long story short. I
- 11:22Speaker 3: discovered this hack from Leah from Love Island. She posted
- 11:25Speaker 3: this like vanilla body care routine and she uses this
- 11:30Speaker 3: Loxatan body oil. And so when we did this video,
- 11:33Speaker 3: that's the oil that we bought and I started using
- 11:36Speaker 3: that and the Loxatan shower oils. Oh my god, it
- 11:42Speaker 3: sent me down a rabbit hole and I am now
- 11:45Speaker 3: a siesta. Okay.
- 11:48Speaker 2: So it's the Loxatan Armond shower oil and it retails
- 11:52Speaker 2: for forty two dollars and it has four point eight
- 11:57Speaker 2: out of five stars from thousands of reviews, so it's good.
- 12:03Speaker 2: One is also sold every seven seconds worldwide.
- 12:07Speaker 4: That's a lot of oil.
- 12:08Speaker 1: That's a lot of oil. But it just melts immediately
- 12:14Speaker 1: into your skin.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It smells amazing and as like a dry skin Xmgirley.
- 12:20Speaker 2: It's really changed my whole body care routine. And yeah,
- 12:24Speaker 2: the almond and vanilla scent of it.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Is just so deliciously good. If you are a vanilla
- 12:29Speaker 3: sent girly, you need to try this. And yeah, when
- 12:32Speaker 3: you're applying it on your skin in the shower, it's
- 12:35Speaker 3: just so good.
- 12:36Speaker 1: It's cleansing as well, Like what can't it do? What
- 12:41Speaker 1: can't you do?
- 12:42Speaker 3: She can't be talked. The best lazy girl beauty hack
- 12:46Speaker 3: I have ever been given and will forever share until
- 12:49Speaker 3: I'm lowered into the grave is to put oil on
- 12:52Speaker 3: your skin when you're in the shower. Okay. My next
- 12:56Speaker 3: one is the bluff communication tactic. And this is a
- 13:00Speaker 3: good one to pull out at work, especially blow up
- 13:04Speaker 3: at the work please exactly. So. Bluff is an acronym
- 13:08Speaker 3: that stands for bottom line up front. It's communicating the
- 13:13Speaker 3: most important.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Thing at the top. Yeah, I'm big fan, big jam.
- 13:16Speaker 3: So if you're sending an email or you're presenting or
- 13:19Speaker 3: having a conversation, put the most important information at the top.
- 13:24Speaker 3: A lot of the time we feel the need to
- 13:26Speaker 3: provide the context first. So they said no to this,
- 13:29Speaker 3: So we've provided this option. Blah blah, XYZ, so we've
- 13:32Speaker 3: ended up here and this is the resolution or this
- 13:35Speaker 3: is the next step. Instead you would reframe that and
- 13:38Speaker 3: put the next step up top. So we're going to
- 13:41Speaker 3: do this because XYZ, I like that and provide that
- 13:45Speaker 3: because firstly, it helps you come across more confident and
- 13:49Speaker 3: you know what you're talking about. But also people are
- 13:52Speaker 3: going to remember the first thing that you tell them true,
- 13:55Speaker 3: and if you bury it in the context and people are.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Like wait, people bury the lead.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of like the inverted pyramid of conversation.
- 14:03Speaker 3: So if you need journalism or you remember that from
- 14:05Speaker 3: yours and I don't remember it, Essentially it's putting the
- 14:10Speaker 3: most important information up top. Yeah, I respect that you're
- 14:14Speaker 3: gonna light this one ready?
- 14:16Speaker 4: Are your ears open?
- 14:17Speaker 2: Your phone is why you don't feel sexy.
- 14:26Speaker 4: For the players at home?
- 14:27Speaker 1: So I just not put it phone away and off
- 14:29Speaker 1: the table.
- 14:31Speaker 3: So there is an incredible article written by Catherine Shannon
- 14:35Speaker 3: on how your phone is killing your.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Ability to feel sexy.
- 14:39Speaker 2: And this is obviously not a new notion, Like we
- 14:44Speaker 2: we know this. We've talked about body positivity on social
- 14:48Speaker 2: media and following people that look like you and like
- 14:51Speaker 2: how the comparison traple of social media is debilitating to
- 14:56Speaker 2: your confidence. But I really really like like the life
- 15:00Speaker 2: lesson I took, and I thought it was like a
- 15:02Speaker 2: very refreshing wake up call in the way that she
- 15:04Speaker 2: approaches how our phones make us feel unsexy. And in
- 15:08Speaker 2: the article, she states that getting a text or a
- 15:12Speaker 2: voicemail or a ring on your house phone and someone
- 15:15Speaker 2: saying it's for you, that was sexy, Like in the
- 15:18Speaker 2: nineties and the early two thousands, using up all your
- 15:22Speaker 2: credit to like click a button three times to get
- 15:24Speaker 2: one letter and text your crush all night, you know
- 15:26Speaker 2: what I mean, Like that was sexy when texts cost
- 15:29Speaker 2: a dollar to say, because it was a little bit
- 15:33Speaker 2: harder and we didn't do it as much right. And
- 15:37Speaker 2: in the article she says, we've made things too easy,
- 15:41Speaker 2: We've lost the chase. And here's a quote that I
- 15:44Speaker 2: think really made me giggle out there.
- 15:46Speaker 3: But I was like fuck, you're so real for that,
- 15:48Speaker 3: She says, something is deeply wrong when we sexed the
- 15:51Speaker 3: same way.
- 15:51Speaker 1: We order a sandwich.
- 15:54Speaker 3: So true, she continues to say, Today, everyone and everything
- 15:58Speaker 3: is always availab and there's nothing less sexy than that.
- 16:03Speaker 1: There's no chase.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Our phones don't allow us time to dwell, and they
- 16:07Speaker 2: don't allow us time to yearn.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Stance makes the heart grow fonder.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Why force yourself to daydream about the guy you're seeing
- 16:14Speaker 3: when you can easily look at dozens of photographs on
- 16:17Speaker 3: him online. Why walk into a store in Soho and
- 16:21Speaker 3: see what's on offer when you can stay home and
- 16:23Speaker 3: scroll the entire inventory from the comfort of your couch.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Why go to the library to find books about a
- 16:29Speaker 3: topic that interests you when you can look it up
- 16:32Speaker 3: on Wikipedia in two minutes and move on with your day.
- 16:35Speaker 3: But the life lesson that I really felt in my
- 16:38Speaker 3: heart and soul and I was like, fuck, is that
- 16:41Speaker 3: social media forces us to borrow desires from others.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I just watched your brain chemistry go.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Right, So we begin to want things that we didn't
- 16:53Speaker 3: even know we needed.
- 16:55Speaker 1: And it's a little bit like bigger than even just
- 16:59Speaker 1: you know products, Right, I also want to practice this.
- 17:03Speaker 2: With saying it's not to say that social media isn't helpful.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I have found some of the most incredible hacks and
- 17:11Speaker 2: products and things that I am so glad that I
- 17:14Speaker 2: discovered because of TikTok and Instagram and social media and like.
- 17:18Speaker 4: And you can build community and find people.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Absolutely, it's not to say I Am not going to
- 17:23Speaker 3: sit here and say.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Like, ignoks it over social media.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Because I do really like it and I've taken the
- 17:29Speaker 2: time to cultivate, you know, a feed and creators and
- 17:32Speaker 2: a following list that I do feel like fills my cup.
- 17:35Speaker 1: That's not to say it feels it every time.
- 17:37Speaker 3: And it's also not to say that I feel great
- 17:39Speaker 3: every time I'm on social media. There are definitely days
- 17:42Speaker 3: and I'm like, why do I feel like shit, Oh yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 3: I've been on my phone all day. But it does
- 17:46Speaker 3: pose the question of maybe you don't feel sexy because
- 17:50Speaker 3: it's on purpose. If you feel sexy and confident, then
- 17:53Speaker 3: you're going to spend less.
- 17:56Speaker 1: And it's this notion of if.
- 17:59Speaker 3: You're confident, shit, we've got to change, like, we've got
- 18:02Speaker 3: to change the tide. And that's why these trends, they're
- 18:04Speaker 3: constantly changing, so that you're always just a little step behind.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's chasing something.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Yeah, like you won't get your hair done in the
- 18:13Speaker 3: Teddy Bear chocolate brown.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Two fla shade. It's so in viral.
- 18:17Speaker 3: You won't buy the skinny jeans that were cringe two
- 18:19Speaker 3: years ago, but now Alex Earl's wearing them, so they're
- 18:22Speaker 3: back in.
- 18:23Speaker 1: And if you're listening to this episode in two years time,
- 18:25Speaker 1: they're probably out again and cringe.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Yeah. It is a nice reminder that whenever you are
- 18:31Speaker 3: on your phone and you're like, oh, yeah, I want that,
- 18:34Speaker 3: do you?
- 18:35Speaker 1: Or are you borrowing the desire?
- 18:37Speaker 2: And I'll finish this with the final quote from the article,
- 18:40Speaker 2: which is a perfect go up tip in itself, and
- 18:43Speaker 2: it's that remember this the next time you fall asleep
- 18:45Speaker 2: to a TikTok playing on an endless loop. One day,
- 18:49Speaker 2: your heart will stop beating. The only thing that's eternal
- 18:52Speaker 2: is love. Well, I'll send you the article were linked
- 18:56Speaker 2: in the show notes as well. It's a substack and
- 18:59Speaker 2: substacks my life hyperfixation.
- 19:01Speaker 1: At the moment, I'm obsessed with it. I actually have
- 19:03Speaker 1: another one coming up later in the episode.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Yes, Sexy, My next one is adding whimsy to the mundane.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Yes, I've seen this.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm saying this.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Sorry, I've seen thee like a couple of different iterations.
- 19:19Speaker 3: So I'll find the TikTok and I'll link it in
- 19:21Speaker 3: the show notes as well. But there was one chick
- 19:24Speaker 3: on TikTok who posted doing a call out being like,
- 19:27Speaker 3: what are the things that you do every day every
- 19:30Speaker 3: day to add whimsy to the mundane? And they were
- 19:33Speaker 3: just like so cute and silly and funny all the comments.
- 19:37Speaker 3: But then I've also been sod with like a lot
- 19:39Speaker 3: of TikTok's about how to add whimsy to your everyday
- 19:42Speaker 3: routine that are much more like witchy kind of.
- 19:47Speaker 4: Which is obviously where our hearts.
- 19:50Speaker 2: My favorite thing is that every woman wants to be
- 19:52Speaker 2: a witch, right, every woman wants to like and every
- 19:57Speaker 2: woman is a witch.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree, honestly.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah. So some of my favorite ways to add whimsy
- 20:03Speaker 3: to the mundane is listening to orchestral and classical music
- 20:07Speaker 3: while you're working, reading, cleaning the house.
- 20:11Speaker 4: I also love to.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Put on the TV on YouTube, like those ambient settings,
- 20:17Speaker 3: so like the rainy day or the common room in
- 20:24Speaker 3: ones or there's ones that's set in like fourth wing
- 20:26Speaker 3: with like dragons flying around. Yeah. Yeah, like just even
- 20:30Speaker 3: that while you're reading, Oh my god, incredible carrying crystals
- 20:35Speaker 3: on your person, so putting like a crystal in your
- 20:38Speaker 3: bra or in your purse, which I love. And one
- 20:42Speaker 3: that I want to start doing that I saw from
- 20:44Speaker 3: one of these tiktoks is putting a sprig of rosemary
- 20:48Speaker 3: in your journal, yeah, which I just think is so cute.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Like you can use that obviously as a bookmark if
- 20:55Speaker 3: you really wish, but also then your journal is gonna
- 20:58Speaker 3: smell like rosemary every me open it.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Like how romantic is that? I love it? Let's be
- 21:04Speaker 1: more whimsy. Okay.
- 21:06Speaker 2: My next scullopt it for twenty twenty five is find
- 21:09Speaker 2: your minimum effective dose makeup.
- 21:12Speaker 1: So I've been on a little bit of skin journey.
- 21:15Speaker 2: This year, and my goal, not this year, but last
- 21:19Speaker 2: year was to try embrace wearing less makeup. And by
- 21:24Speaker 2: the end of last year, my skin said bet it
- 21:29Speaker 2: was like go off, king go on, And I was
- 21:32Speaker 2: really struggling with like cystic and hormonal acne, and my
- 21:36Speaker 2: skin barrier was fucked to the suns, like it was
- 21:40Speaker 2: she was not having good tomes. She was going through
- 21:42Speaker 2: and I really really lost my confidence to go like
- 21:44Speaker 2: without makeup. And I feel like now after you know,
- 21:49Speaker 2: going to Faceelle and really really working on repairing that
- 21:52Speaker 2: skin barrier, I've found a place.
- 21:54Speaker 1: With my skin that I am so much more confident.
- 21:57Speaker 3: That I've actually been able to step away from fear
- 22:00Speaker 3: feeling like I need a full beat like every day,
- 22:03Speaker 3: Like most days now, I have my minimum effective dose
- 22:07Speaker 3: makeup to feel like I'm put together, and it's not
- 22:11Speaker 3: about for anyone else, and it's purely like a for
- 22:13Speaker 3: me thing that I like to I really enjoy doing
- 22:16Speaker 3: my makeup, Like I really enjoy sitting down and putting
- 22:19Speaker 3: makeup on and that process of feeling like I'm getting
- 22:23Speaker 3: ready for the day.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yes, it's fine and it's fun. It's fun to play.
- 22:27Speaker 2: And your minimum effective dose is so different, like depending
- 22:31Speaker 2: on who you are, it's what you like and to
- 22:33Speaker 2: feel put together. And for me, I've found like some
- 22:38Speaker 2: of the most amazing products that it is the I'm
- 22:41Speaker 2: going to give my product recommendations for the minimum effective
- 22:44Speaker 2: dose makeup look, So it's minimal makeup to feel and
- 22:47Speaker 2: look like you've still got it.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Together, put together vibes, right, skinned hint.
- 22:52Speaker 2: This thing glowing like I feel like it like just
- 22:57Speaker 2: evens out my entire skin, don't and I'm glowing from within.
- 23:00Speaker 2: And I mix it with the Tart Cosmetics bronzing drops,
- 23:04Speaker 2: and those bronzing drops are like a super thin serumi
- 23:09Speaker 2: kind of texture, and it just creates this lift in
- 23:13Speaker 2: my skin, like this glow like I kind of have
- 23:15Speaker 2: dull skin, and it just like lifts it as if
- 23:19Speaker 2: I am naturally sunkissed European sun kissed goddess vibes right.
- 23:26Speaker 2: My second is because that super light coverage is I
- 23:30Speaker 2: go with like a more high coverage concealer and it's
- 23:33Speaker 2: the Borne this way two face conceala e.
- 23:38Speaker 1: My fucking god, sal put me onto this, and.
- 23:40Speaker 3: It is, without a doubt, the best concealer I've ever
- 23:45Speaker 3: used in my entire life. There are definitely still other
- 23:49Speaker 3: concealers that I love, but this when we repurchase things,
- 23:52Speaker 3: that's how you know we really like it, because we
- 23:54Speaker 3: are very lucky enough to get sent a lot of stuff.
- 23:57Speaker 1: But I'm like, give me that bad boy ye her
- 24:01Speaker 1: forever ever ever.
- 24:03Speaker 2: And then I use a lip tint basically across my
- 24:07Speaker 2: whole face and it's the Mabeling Teddy tint in skinny
- 24:12Speaker 2: Dip because it's like a bronze blush that you don't
- 24:16Speaker 2: need to wear bronzer and you don't need to wear
- 24:19Speaker 2: blush because it's smack bang crackle pop in the same thing.
- 24:22Speaker 2: And because it's like a lip tint but you can
- 24:25Speaker 2: use it on your eyes, you can use it on
- 24:26Speaker 2: your cheek, you can use it.
- 24:27Speaker 4: On your lips.
- 24:28Speaker 2: That the whole thing just looks cohesive and put together
- 24:32Speaker 2: and it's long war so I don't have to reapply.
- 24:35Speaker 2: And often when you're using cream products or light coverage.
- 24:38Speaker 1: They like fall off your face them it's like, oh
- 24:41Speaker 1: is it a little bit hot today?
- 24:42Speaker 4: Goodbye?
- 24:44Speaker 1: And it is so good.
- 24:45Speaker 3: And then my final one is the Flower Beauty Lash
- 24:49Speaker 3: Warrior mascara. It's literally ten dollars and the best mascara
- 24:53Speaker 3: you'll ever use. So those are my red love it
- 24:56Speaker 3: for my no makeup makeup.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm into it.
- 25:00Speaker 3: I'll keep it quick because it's also a beauty wreck
- 25:03Speaker 3: and it's to use a tubing mascara, So if you
- 25:07Speaker 3: have oily eyelids or you find that your mascara transfers,
- 25:12Speaker 3: use a tubing mascara it's completely you really like it.
- 25:15Speaker 1: The moment one nice and affordable to it, Yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Really affordable.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I've been using it in the brown shade, but it's
- 25:21Speaker 3: also available in black, and I really like it. I've
- 25:25Speaker 3: been really struggling with a lot of mascara is transferring
- 25:29Speaker 3: and this one is so good.
- 25:30Speaker 4: I've been really getting around it.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Love it.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Recommend.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Okay, my next one is another quick one, and it's
- 25:36Speaker 1: to steam your clothes.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Yeah. I know it's a pain in the ass, but
- 25:40Speaker 3: I promise it's worth it because whenever you don't steam
- 25:43Speaker 3: your clothes, it doesn't look as good as when you
- 25:46Speaker 3: steam your clothes. And that might sound like I'm stating
- 25:48Speaker 3: the obvious, but whenever you're there in the morning and
- 25:51Speaker 3: I'm talking to my future self and I'm there and
- 25:52Speaker 3: I'm like, I can't be bothered to steam it. Later
- 25:55Speaker 3: in the day, I'm like, I should have just steamed it,
- 25:57Speaker 3: or I do steam it. I'm like, I'm glad I
- 25:59Speaker 3: did that.
- 26:00Speaker 4: You see a photo of yourself.
- 26:01Speaker 3: And you're like, because you think in your head, you're like, oh,
- 26:03Speaker 3: it's not that noticeable.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Nobody will be able to tell.
- 26:05Speaker 1: And it's not noticeable.
- 26:06Speaker 2: No one's looking at you and going you didn't steam.
- 26:10Speaker 2: But there's just an elevation to your clothes when you
- 26:15Speaker 2: properly prep them for when you're wearing them. And when
- 26:17Speaker 2: you're spending so much money on your clothes, wouldn't you
- 26:20Speaker 2: want them.
- 26:20Speaker 1: To look their best? Yeah, and take you.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Know, the two minutes. You can get a steamer from
- 26:25Speaker 2: Kmart and it will do the job.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's so quick and you don't have to
- 26:29Speaker 3: fuck around with a nining board, do it the night before.
- 26:32Speaker 4: That's just the easiest way, please my god.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Okay, okay, My next one is buying duplicates to make
- 26:40Speaker 3: your life easier. So there's a few different categories that
- 26:44Speaker 3: I think that this could sit in, depending on what
- 26:47Speaker 3: you need. But I was out for dinner with a
- 26:50Speaker 3: friend the other day and they were talking about how
- 26:52Speaker 3: they needed to buy new socks. So they hadn't brought
- 26:55Speaker 3: them in years, as we do, so they're all a
- 26:57Speaker 3: bit ready and ready to go. She threw away all
- 27:01Speaker 3: of her socks and then repurchased like ten just of
- 27:05Speaker 3: the same pair. She was like, now I will never
- 27:07Speaker 3: have mismatch socks. And then another thing that I've been
- 27:11Speaker 3: doing is with tupperware, containers. So I know everybody's tupperwear
- 27:17Speaker 3: container drawer is just like it's basically the junk drawer
- 27:21Speaker 3: of your kitchen, and everybody just like throws it in
- 27:24Speaker 3: there and like slams the door and then just hopes
- 27:26Speaker 3: that like it won't all come crashing down on them.
- 27:28Speaker 3: And I was doing the exact same thing because all
- 27:30Speaker 3: of them were like different shapes and sizes, had different lids,
- 27:34Speaker 3: and it was just a mess. So at the beginning
- 27:36Speaker 3: of the year, they were all a little bit worse
- 27:38Speaker 3: for where I'd had them, probably like since I'd moved
- 27:40Speaker 3: in many years ago, and I just repurchased all glass
- 27:44Speaker 3: ones that were the same size that are easier to stack,
- 27:46Speaker 3: and again that way, they're just easier to mix a
- 27:49Speaker 3: match because they're all the same size. And then also
- 27:52Speaker 3: glassware as well is another one that I did because
- 27:55Speaker 3: I live in an apartment and.
- 27:57Speaker 1: The space is not the best.
- 28:00Speaker 3: I just was like, I need a repurchase glass where
- 28:02Speaker 3: that I can stack together. That makes more sense for
- 28:05Speaker 3: the space and the storage situation.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Okay, moving on the two out of three rule to
- 28:12Speaker 2: always look put together, and it's a super quick one,
- 28:15Speaker 2: and it's basically to always have two out of three
- 28:18Speaker 2: of your hair, makeup, and outfit done. So if you're
- 28:21Speaker 2: in a rush or you can't be bothered, but you
- 28:24Speaker 2: want to look like you've got your life together.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Basically you've had like two hours sleep and you're like,
- 28:29Speaker 1: fuck my life, Yeah, you're hungover a shit.
- 28:31Speaker 2: As long as you have two out of three of
- 28:34Speaker 2: your makeup, hair, and outfit done, you sorted. Yeah, you
- 28:37Speaker 2: can cut cut a corner with that one.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I love that, And I was thinking about it
- 28:41Speaker 1: and I was like, that's true.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Like whenever I am like too tired and not bothered,
- 28:45Speaker 2: what have I done? And it's always like I'll probably
- 28:48Speaker 2: do my hair and put on an outfit and then
- 28:50Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, can't we want to do makeup today?
- 28:52Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:53Speaker 4: So true, pick your poisons. I feel like I'm a.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Makeup and maybe make up and outfit and then I
- 28:58Speaker 3: throw the hair back sleep for hair.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Yeah, like today, Okay.
- 29:03Speaker 3: This one is to help you structure your day so
- 29:06Speaker 3: that you hit your step goal. Because this year I
- 29:10Speaker 3: set myself a step goal because I was finding that
- 29:13Speaker 3: when I was looking back on how many steps I
- 29:15Speaker 3: was hitting, I was like, I'm just like not moving
- 29:18Speaker 3: my body enough.
- 29:19Speaker 1: It's hard when you have an office job.
- 29:21Speaker 4: It's really hard. But it also is possible. And I
- 29:24Speaker 4: knew that it was possible, but.
- 29:26Speaker 3: I think that I just wasn't optimizing my day to
- 29:30Speaker 3: hit it. And you know, I would get to the
- 29:32Speaker 3: end of the day and be like, oh cool, now
- 29:34Speaker 3: I've got like this many steps that I need to
- 29:35Speaker 3: hit and it's eight thirty at night. Like, I just
- 29:38Speaker 3: wasn't really forward planning. So, for example, let's say that
- 29:42Speaker 3: your step goal is ten thousand steps a day, which
- 29:46Speaker 3: I think is pretty commented. Yeah, so it takes around
- 29:49Speaker 3: an hour and forty minutes of walking to get ten
- 29:53Speaker 3: thousand steps. This obviously has some variation depending on how
- 29:57Speaker 3: fast you're walking, how how long your legs are, et cetera.
- 30:01Speaker 1: So let's just take this with a grain of salt.
- 30:03Speaker 3: But if you want to get ten thousand steps a
- 30:06Speaker 3: day and you need to get that in an hour
- 30:08Speaker 3: and forty minutes, you could structure your day in the morning,
- 30:12Speaker 3: do thirty minutes when you wake up, or build it
- 30:16Speaker 3: into your commute, or go to a cafe that requires
- 30:19Speaker 3: you to walk a little bit further, but do that
- 30:22Speaker 3: by thirty in thirty minutes. Then at lunchtime, do twenty
- 30:27Speaker 3: minutes of walking. So whether that's going to the supermarket
- 30:31Speaker 3: to buy your groceries for dinner, walking to the park,
- 30:35Speaker 3: taking a dog for a walk, if you work from home,
- 30:37Speaker 3: whatever it is, but twenty minutes at lunchtime, because I
- 30:40Speaker 3: think most people you know.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Hope you need to get in total minutes of movement.
- 30:45Speaker 1: At least for your brain. For your brain exactly.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Then throughout the day, as you're working, get up and
- 30:53Speaker 3: walk around for around two and a half minutes every
- 30:57Speaker 3: hour over an eight hour sort of shift.
- 31:00Speaker 1: That gives you another total of twenty.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Minutes and two and a half minutes an hour. Isn't
- 31:06Speaker 4: much like.
- 31:07Speaker 3: That's you like getting up and going and making a
- 31:09Speaker 3: cup of tea or going to the toilet, or walking
- 31:12Speaker 3: instead of slacking your cowork or walking over to their.
- 31:14Speaker 4: Desk and asking them a question.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Then after work, do thirty minutes so that could be
- 31:20Speaker 3: your commute home, going to the gym and walking on
- 31:23Speaker 3: the treadmill, or if you're doing an exercise class, or
- 31:26Speaker 3: if you have a walking pad, and then that broken
- 31:29Speaker 3: up gets you to an hour and forty minutes and
- 31:32Speaker 3: then ten thousand steps.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Wow.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I even think if you had just the thirty minutes
- 31:38Speaker 2: in the morning and the thirty minutes in the afternoon.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Half the time, you'll make up the rest of it
- 31:44Speaker 2: just in like the natural way you potter around when
- 31:47Speaker 2: you make dinner or you get ready in the morning,
- 31:49Speaker 2: or when you're doing like your closing shift clean Like
- 31:52Speaker 2: I find that when I do like the thirty minutes
- 31:54Speaker 2: in the morning and the evening, the re like the
- 31:56Speaker 2: other like two thousand steps kind of make up themselves.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Yeah that.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Yeah, they love that.
- 32:01Speaker 2: I still think you should like get up and move
- 32:04Speaker 2: around during the middle of the day as well, because
- 32:05Speaker 2: whenever I don't do that, brain farts.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Whenever I do do that, brain.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Smooth, Yeah, brain smooth. Okay.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Another glow up tip beauty treatments in exchange for product
- 32:18Speaker 3: smash smash.
- 32:20Speaker 4: This is the ultimate girl math.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, this is just math. Actually, this isn't girl math,
- 32:28Speaker 1: girl math, it's math.
- 32:30Speaker 4: This is math.
- 32:32Speaker 3: So from facials to makeup, there are so many brands
- 32:37Speaker 3: that offer services in exchange for product, and one of
- 32:41Speaker 3: the best examples of this is the sixty dollars Signature
- 32:45Speaker 3: facial treatment at select Loxtan stores.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Water Bargain.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Honestly, You'll start off with a fifteen minute consultation where
- 32:52Speaker 3: they run you through your skin type concerns what you
- 32:55Speaker 3: want to get out of the facial. This is then
- 32:57Speaker 3: followed by a thirty minute facial that is customized to
- 33:01Speaker 3: you in one of.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Their pods in the store. So good. Yeah.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Not only is sixty dollars for a forty five minute
- 33:07Speaker 3: facial incredibly sexy and affordable, but then you also get
- 33:11Speaker 3: to redeem products back that you use on the day,
- 33:15Speaker 3: like the Immortal Reset serum and the Divine Cream Like
- 33:18Speaker 3: what a smash. And it's also super easy to book online.
- 33:22Speaker 3: So we've chucked a link in the show notes so
- 33:24Speaker 3: that you can find a select Loxtan store near you
- 33:28Speaker 3: and book it in treat yourself.
- 33:29Speaker 4: It's free.
- 33:30Speaker 1: It's free. I feel that's a perfect way to spend
- 33:32Speaker 1: a Sunday.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Yeah, like, go for little walkies, go get facial, get
- 33:37Speaker 2: your weekly groceries.
- 33:40Speaker 3: And then you get to take the products home with
- 33:42Speaker 3: you that you love during the service.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Love love it. Need to do that more, need to
- 33:48Speaker 1: do that more.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Yeah, honestly, Okay, I love this one and it is
- 33:53Speaker 3: the baby Dragon esthetic.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I have coined this term. I don't know if anyone
- 33:58Speaker 1: said it before, but I'm owning it. And I have.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Basically called sal a baby dragon our whole friendship because
- 34:06Speaker 3: she has like a jewelry treasure chest of like trinkets
- 34:11Speaker 3: and jewelry and she just loves gold.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Jewelry and sealver jewelry. You're just a jewelry girly.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Yeah, And it makes her baby dragon because when she's
- 34:18Speaker 3: a baby and two dragons love to hold treasure treasure.
- 34:22Speaker 3: And so I think if you ever want to like
- 34:27Speaker 3: lift a look and glow up a look, just wear
- 34:30Speaker 3: a shit ton of jewelry. I have never seen anyone
- 34:33Speaker 3: wearing cool jewelry and like stacked jewelry that looked bad.
- 34:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree ever in.
- 34:40Speaker 2: My life, and I wanted to share some cool jewelry
- 34:43Speaker 2: brands to find more unique pieces because I think that's
- 34:47Speaker 2: the struggle of people like I want that, but I
- 34:48Speaker 2: don't know where to get it from.
- 34:50Speaker 3: So obviously Bixby and Co. They're fabula of cel. We
- 34:53Speaker 3: love them.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Mountain and Moon. They have some.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Of the coolest fucking drawl I have ever seen in
- 35:01Speaker 3: my life.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Like it's just so unique, it's witchy.
- 35:05Speaker 3: It's witchy again, and I love that also really savage.
- 35:09Speaker 3: That's a little bit of a lot, a bit of
- 35:11Speaker 3: a high price point. But if you're looking for like
- 35:14Speaker 3: the ring that you want for a milestone or maybe
- 35:17Speaker 3: your thirtieth, your fiftieth, something like that you're twenty first,
- 35:21Speaker 3: that's a really good place to find like your one
- 35:24Speaker 3: off statement pieces that you're gonna wear like every every day.
- 35:27Speaker 1: But there's also this.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Page on TikTok and I think her name is Big
- 35:33Speaker 2: Girl Treasure Chest, and she shared that she gets all
- 35:38Speaker 2: of her cool gold filled diamond encrusted gemstone jewelry from
- 35:44Speaker 2: cash converters you can buy online and eBay and all
- 35:49Speaker 2: of these cool places, and she basically does the shopping
- 35:52Speaker 2: like for you.
- 35:53Speaker 1: And there's all these really cool vintage gold.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Rings that you can literally just buy online other than
- 36:00Speaker 3: having to go in store and like hunt them down
- 36:02Speaker 3: and never be able to find your size.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Yeah, get a bit more of a curated experience, Love Baby,
- 36:08Speaker 1: Drag in Aesthetic. It's coming in Yeah, hot, it's coming
- 36:12Speaker 1: in hot.
- 36:13Speaker 4: Yeah. Okay.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Another fashion one, and this is a tip to revive
- 36:18Speaker 3: your leather pieces.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Oh yes, yeah, So if you.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Have real leather, whether that is a handbag, jacket, wallet whatever.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Leather contains natural oils in it that help it be
- 36:33Speaker 3: like soft and buttery and beautiful. But just like you skin,
- 36:37Speaker 3: it dries out and it needs to be moisturized. So
- 36:41Speaker 3: you can actually get leather conditioner that you massage into
- 36:46Speaker 3: your leather pieces that will help rehydrate it and that
- 36:49Speaker 3: stops it from getting really stiff and brittle and cracking.
- 36:53Speaker 3: And leather pieces are an investment and there are things
- 36:56Speaker 3: that can last you forever, but they do require a
- 37:00Speaker 3: little bit of care. And the leather condition is like
- 37:02Speaker 3: six bucks or something like. It's not expensive and it
- 37:05Speaker 3: doesn't take long, but it can really help extend the
- 37:08Speaker 3: life of your leather pieces and also make them look
- 37:11Speaker 3: like a little bit more shiny and nourished and beautiful
- 37:14Speaker 3: and lux And then also I shared a TikTok on
- 37:18Speaker 3: this a while back, but you can get leather.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Cleaner spray as well.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Amazing, Yeah, really really good, because I had so many
- 37:25Speaker 3: leather jackets that were just like coated in makeup around
- 37:29Speaker 3: the collar.
- 37:29Speaker 1: When you also buy.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Them sometimes, like when you get a vintage leather jacket,
- 37:33Speaker 2: they can.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Come a little bit crusty or a little bit dirty.
- 37:36Speaker 2: So it's good to know that what you're about to
- 37:38Speaker 2: say is also an option when you're shopping.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, because you shouldn't be using water to clean
- 37:45Speaker 3: your leather jackets.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I never knew that.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Yeah, because it strips away the natural oils that are
- 37:50Speaker 3: in the leather. The oil can and yeah, that's what
- 37:53Speaker 3: dries it out and can be damaging on the leather piece.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Whereas if you get this particular leather or soap, it
- 38:02Speaker 3: has like conditioning soap in it that helps clean it
- 38:06Speaker 3: but also doesn't dry it out. So yeah, I need
- 38:09Speaker 3: to do that. Okay, this tip is personally just for you. Ooh,
- 38:12Speaker 3: and it's to level up your sleep.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Oh, so had a very bad sleep score last night.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Yeah it wasn't good.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you're like, on a scale of one to ten,
- 38:22Speaker 3: what would you give yourself at being a good sleeper,
- 38:26Speaker 3: like one being insomniac?
- 38:29Speaker 4: Maybe like a six or seven.
- 38:31Speaker 1: That's higher than I thought you would.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Yeah, well, because I feel like I get around sixty
- 38:35Speaker 3: to seventy in my sleep score like consistently, but I
- 38:40Speaker 3: just like struggle to sleep on the SAMMI mo own bed.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:43Speaker 3: But potentially maybe the reason we feel like shit and
- 38:47Speaker 3: look like shit is because we're not getting enough sleep. Yeah,
- 38:50Speaker 3: and I can tell, like I can tell when I
- 38:53Speaker 3: wake up of.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Like ooh yeah, Like who's that.
- 38:56Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, that sleep did not hit And as
- 39:00Speaker 3: we get older, you know, when we were little and
- 39:02Speaker 3: like someone did it for us.
- 39:03Speaker 1: They did the bedtime routine for us.
- 39:05Speaker 3: They're like, it's time to go to bed, brush your teeth,
- 39:07Speaker 3: read your book, blah blah blah. And as we get older,
- 39:10Speaker 3: we like just adult babies, and no one does it
- 39:13Speaker 3: for us anymore.
- 39:14Speaker 1: I'm speaking for myself.
- 39:16Speaker 3: I'm not calling anyone they, but I've put together like
- 39:21Speaker 3: a little bit of a routine now that I genuinely
- 39:24Speaker 3: have seen the difference in my sleep tracking, and I
- 39:28Speaker 3: wanted to share them.
- 39:29Speaker 1: One of them I already told you about, and it was.
- 39:31Speaker 3: To stop consuming caffeine within six hours of going to
- 39:34Speaker 3: sleep because I love a cokexio with Denise. Yeah, yes
- 39:39Speaker 3: my tweet, I love it. But Rob was like, you
- 39:42Speaker 3: know those caffeine and that.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I was like, ahp cokesire right, and he was like,
- 39:46Speaker 1: no sugar, there's no sugar.
- 39:48Speaker 2: But there's actually coke zero, no sugar, no caffeine. And
- 39:51Speaker 2: I did a test to see when I had the
- 39:55Speaker 2: no caffeine before bed if it made a difference, and
- 39:58Speaker 2: the time frame that I fell asleep in was so
- 40:02Speaker 2: much shorter, and the my latency and then also my
- 40:06Speaker 2: rem sleep and deep sleep were higher compared to when
- 40:09Speaker 2: I would have a caffeine drink within six hours of
- 40:12Speaker 2: going to bed. And then another one that I've recently incorporated,
- 40:16Speaker 2: which you're gonna laugh at me, is mouth tape.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so Rob.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Like got mouth tape and I was like, you loser,
- 40:25Speaker 2: and I'm converted.
- 40:27Speaker 1: At first, I felt really chastrophobic. I was like like,
- 40:31Speaker 1: and I also hated that I couldn't talk anymore. This
- 40:36Speaker 1: is it.
- 40:36Speaker 3: This is the end. Like if I want to like
- 40:39Speaker 3: have a little chat at like two am, how do
- 40:41Speaker 3: I do? I'm but it did make such a difference
- 40:46Speaker 3: and I did again see an elevation in my sleep score.
- 40:50Speaker 3: And secondly, this is my ride or Fucking Die sleep product,
- 40:55Speaker 3: and it's an Bluetooth sleep I mask, And so it's
- 40:59Speaker 3: an mask that has Bluetooth speakers within the mask that
- 41:04Speaker 3: you can put on like a sleep story Harry styles.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Of BSI or snooze with Sam.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Who has like that deep Scottish irish and a little
- 41:14Speaker 2: bloud belove him.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Yeah, obsessed, and that whenever I wear that, I don't
- 41:19Speaker 3: remember falling asleep. And that's how I know it's good
- 41:22Speaker 3: because I'm like such a chronic overthinker. I mean, like
- 41:24Speaker 3: what about this and I start writing like scripts in
- 41:27Speaker 3: my head. Yeah, that that one is amazing.
- 41:30Speaker 2: And obviously reading, there was a study that showed that
- 41:33Speaker 2: six minutes of reading reduces your stress by sixty eight percent. Wow,
- 41:39Speaker 2: more than walking, more than like meditating, drinking cup of tea,
- 41:43Speaker 2: and stress is obviously the biggest like blocker to sleep
- 41:47Speaker 2: and quality sleep.
- 41:49Speaker 1: So simply reading like that's two pages. Ways to level
- 41:53Speaker 1: up your sleep.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Is stop consuming caffeine within six hours, mouth tape, a
- 41:59Speaker 3: blue sleep mask, and reading for six minutes before bed
- 42:03Speaker 3: will absolutely change your life.
- 42:05Speaker 4: You're welcome.
- 42:06Speaker 3: I actually had one that is a quick one that's
- 42:09Speaker 3: kind of similar to that, and it's using nose tape
- 42:12Speaker 3: falling asleep.
- 42:12Speaker 4: Have you done that?
- 42:13Speaker 3: Yes? I have. So if you struggle with snoring or
- 42:17Speaker 3: your partner struggles with snoring, you feel like you aren't
- 42:20Speaker 3: breathing probably while you're sleep sleeping, use nose tape.
- 42:22Speaker 4: But that was just a quick.
- 42:23Speaker 3: One, and then I have a money saving hack for
- 42:27Speaker 3: my next one blowing up your finances, and it's to
- 42:32Speaker 3: switch and save money. So the average Aussie household could
- 42:36Speaker 3: save six hundred and fifty dollars by switching their utility plan.
- 42:41Speaker 3: So you could say four hundred and nineteen dollars annually
- 42:44Speaker 3: on electricity and two hundred and twenty seven dollars on
- 42:48Speaker 3: gas by switching from the average to the cheapest plans,
- 42:51Speaker 3: according to new research by Moso Wow. So that's a
- 42:55Speaker 3: total saving of nearly six hundred and fifty dollars a
- 42:57Speaker 3: year and then a reason. A Triple C report also
- 43:01Speaker 3: found that households who hadn't switched their electricity plans in
- 43:04Speaker 3: more than a year were coughing up two hundred and
- 43:08Speaker 3: thirty eight dollars more annually than customers on newer offers.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Okay, I'm going to do that today.
- 43:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to go home because I actually just
- 43:15Speaker 3: got my bill and it was not sexy. It did
- 43:18Speaker 3: It was not a blow up. No, that bill was
- 43:20Speaker 3: not a glow up. Okay, how to glow up your photos?
- 43:25Speaker 2: And I think I get this question once a week,
- 43:28Speaker 2: and it's how to get a film affect photo on
- 43:31Speaker 2: your photos.
- 43:32Speaker 1: And I just use this one.
- 43:35Speaker 3: App to literally look like all of my photos were
- 43:38Speaker 3: taken on a digital camera or a film camera and
- 43:41Speaker 3: they were not.
- 43:42Speaker 1: I'm a fool. And this app is called daz Cam.
- 43:46Speaker 2: It has been my ride or die for years, and
- 43:50Speaker 2: it has all of these cameras loaded into the app
- 43:54Speaker 2: with the presets of what the film would look like
- 43:57Speaker 2: or the digital camera.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Photo would look like. And it saves you so much money.
- 44:00Speaker 2: So the one time purchase I believe is nineteen dollars
- 44:03Speaker 2: and ninety nine cents, so twenty bucks or I think
- 44:06Speaker 2: it's seven dollars a month and honestly worth every single
- 44:11Speaker 2: cent in my mind. Like I take all my photos.
- 44:14Speaker 2: You can take it in app or you can upload
- 44:17Speaker 2: photos into it so that you have both versions and
- 44:21Speaker 2: you can play around.
- 44:22Speaker 1: It also has film footage settings.
- 44:24Speaker 3: It is easily my favorite thing in the world because
- 44:27Speaker 3: you save so much money rather than buying like actual
- 44:30Speaker 3: CODEAC cameras, which I still love that because it's very romanticized.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but that is the app that I.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Use to get all my film effects on photos, and
- 44:39Speaker 3: I love it and I've put so many people onto it.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Dad's camdazz Love. We'll put a link in the
- 44:44Speaker 1: show notes, ye so that you can.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Down load another beauty one and it's a hair tip.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Over eighty percent of people are mistreating their hair by
- 44:56Speaker 3: using the wrong heat settings. I found this out because
- 44:59Speaker 3: we've recently did a collab with Cloud nine and this
- 45:04Speaker 3: isn't sponsored, but I just learned it through the collab
- 45:06Speaker 3: and I started using the two and one Contouring Pro
- 45:10Speaker 3: Hair Straightness so good. And it's so good because it
- 45:13Speaker 3: has eleven different heat settings that you can use, and
- 45:17Speaker 3: on their website they have a quiz that you can
- 45:19Speaker 3: put in your hair information and goals and it tells
- 45:22Speaker 3: you which temperature that you should be using. And so
- 45:25Speaker 3: that's why I started using one hundred and fifty. Yeah,
- 45:27Speaker 3: because my hair is bleached, it's always going to have,
- 45:29Speaker 3: you know, sort of like split ends and flyways. But
- 45:31Speaker 3: I just found that it was looking a little less
- 45:34Speaker 3: fuzzy when I've.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Held it down fuzzy Okay.
- 45:38Speaker 2: And our final one, my substeck that I teased to
- 45:43Speaker 2: you before, Yes, and this is the globe too that
- 45:46Speaker 2: if you take one away from this episode, this is
- 45:48Speaker 2: the one that we want you to carry in your
- 45:50Speaker 2: heart and soul at the forefront of your mind forever,
- 45:54Speaker 2: and it's a the magic comes from you mentality. So
- 45:59Speaker 2: there was this thing incredible substack written by Juliana and
- 46:02Speaker 2: it's titled what if You're the Magic?
- 46:05Speaker 1: And it's very aligned.
- 46:07Speaker 2: With kind of what you were talking about with you know,
- 46:10Speaker 2: being whimsy and having fun with that. But she says
- 46:15Speaker 2: that it's a potent drug to believe in yourself. It's
- 46:19Speaker 2: like greeting a soldier home from war after years of
- 46:22Speaker 2: trying to fight myself away. I've told countless friends about
- 46:25Speaker 2: my new superpower, being myself. I don't have degrees from
- 46:29Speaker 2: prestigious universities or every experience under my belt, but I
- 46:33Speaker 2: have a unique perspective and I know that it's worth sharing.
- 46:37Speaker 2: I have innate excitement about the world around me. That
- 46:40Speaker 2: is a key part of who I am.
- 46:42Speaker 3: I'm a happy person, I'm a lucky person, and I
- 46:44Speaker 3: can create something out of nothing with only my mind.
- 46:48Speaker 4: I love that same how beautiful.
- 46:51Speaker 2: I know it was just the most beautiful article to read. Again,
- 46:55Speaker 2: we will link it in the show notes, but I
- 46:57Speaker 2: highly encourage it because it really does allow you to
- 47:02Speaker 2: look and there's so many ways that we kind of
- 47:05Speaker 2: have encompassed this feeling in our world, whether it's being
- 47:09Speaker 2: whimsy or romanticizing our day or feeling like a witch
- 47:13Speaker 2: or whatever it is. But really, when you break down
- 47:16Speaker 2: all of those things, at the core of it is
- 47:18Speaker 2: you being yourself and enjoying it at the end of
- 47:23Speaker 2: the day, all of those trends, all of those notions
- 47:26Speaker 2: of how we communicate what that feeling is, because it's
- 47:29Speaker 2: so hard to name what that is. It's just enjoying
- 47:34Speaker 2: being yourself and that is the ultimate way to glow up,
- 47:39Speaker 2: is to realize and literally just glow from the inside
- 47:42Speaker 2: out because the magic comes from within you.
- 47:44Speaker 1: And I'm going to start crying.
- 47:46Speaker 4: That's beautiful, I know, and I.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Just loved it because exactly what if you're the magic,
- 47:51Speaker 3: You're constantly searching for this magical thing that your life
- 47:54Speaker 3: is going to get better and you're going to meet
- 47:56Speaker 3: the love of your life, you get the dream job,
- 47:58Speaker 3: none of that's going to happen if you don't believe
- 48:00Speaker 3: that the magic is actually within you.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Well, thank you so much to listening to this episode.
- 48:04Speaker 2: We know these episodes are a big one, but you
- 48:07Speaker 2: chicks literally love them literally tally, and we love doing them.
- 48:12Speaker 2: I had so much fun collecting my glow up tips,
- 48:15Speaker 2: and I'm sure you did too.
- 48:17Speaker 1: I feel like I've glowed up just talking.
- 48:19Speaker 3: Yeah I'm glowing right now, and yeah, pop your glout tips.
- 48:23Speaker 3: In the comments of this episode, please share the love.
- 48:25Speaker 4: We love all the ideas.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Kisses curdles, and we love being in your ear holes.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Thank you so much for having us here, and shout
- 48:32Speaker 3: out to mak Made for making this episode of Two
- 48:34Speaker 3: Road Chicks Happen by Chigars
