- 0:38Speaker 8: Begin, I'm gonna.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Go on the way you vegan. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. You're
- 0:46Speaker 1: listening to the Sports Shock Show. I am the Sport
- 0:48Speaker 1: Shock Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you. How I have
- 0:52Speaker 1: missed you? How the world has changed here in the
- 0:55Speaker 1: last time I spoke to you. Uh, there was one
- 0:59Speaker 1: guy running for president, and now there is And this
- 1:02Speaker 1: is brought to you by the pages of the Bad Producer.
- 1:06Speaker 1: There's another person running politics on deck this morning, Big
- 1:10Speaker 1: Kenny on one side as an independent running out of
- 1:13Speaker 1: the state of South Carolina. As you would imagine, is
- 1:17Speaker 1: the Bad Producer commanding. Greg is just in between. He
- 1:22Speaker 1: doesn't know which way to go. He's part Texan, part Floridian,
- 1:29Speaker 1: part Illinoisan. He just don't know which way to go.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I got so he says he might just stain, but
- 1:41Speaker 1: politics is here, and along with the NFL college football,
- 1:47Speaker 1: high school football woe, the rest of twenty four should
- 1:51Speaker 1: be very exciting as far as coming and how this
- 1:56Speaker 1: country is. I expect a lot of fights, some divorce,
- 2:02Speaker 1: people getting ridden out of wheels. We are so sensitive
- 2:06Speaker 1: and so negative to accept somebody else might have a
- 2:10Speaker 1: different opinion that you should just be called conversation. Remember
- 2:17Speaker 1: that old adage conversation, Google conversation. We'll have a conversation.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I've forgotten how it's like cursive. We don't do it anymore,
- 2:31Speaker 1: so I've lost a bit. You remember conversations, It was
- 2:35Speaker 1: an exchange of ideas between people. Well, you just sat down,
- 2:38Speaker 1: sat and talked, and I learned you and you try
- 2:41Speaker 1: to tell me learn a little more about something I
- 2:43Speaker 1: might be wrong about. And then we hugged and made
- 2:47Speaker 1: plans for the weekend. Yeah, but you can't make plans
- 2:50Speaker 1: in California because you can't grill anymore. And that what
- 2:53Speaker 1: you was telling me outside. It don't got bad when
- 2:58Speaker 1: you came. When you change, can't throw a piece of
- 3:01Speaker 1: meat on the grim, when you can't go out and
- 3:02Speaker 1: get you some sticks, start you with fire, and California
- 3:06Speaker 1: now is banning grilling because of the air quality. Well,
- 3:11Speaker 1: I can contest to that I got drafted there and
- 3:15Speaker 1: that was thirty years ago and the air was bad then.
- 3:19Speaker 1: He thinks, I can't imagine if you y'all haven't fixed
- 3:22Speaker 1: some kind of AI to fix it. What if they
- 3:25Speaker 1: restricted all the legal marijuana smoke? See you stoned him,
- 3:32Speaker 1: stone him in conversation, all your friends whatever the conversation friends. See,
- 3:38Speaker 1: don't nobody want to talk. We don't want to talk
- 3:41Speaker 1: to you. No more block melock me? He does you block?
- 3:45Speaker 1: Block me, block me whatever your on? Blocked me on that.
- 3:50Speaker 1: But the baddus is here with his Carolina What football
- 3:54Speaker 1: team are you? Because you like nine different sports? You
- 3:56Speaker 1: the only man I can't keep, which was college? College?
- 3:59Speaker 1: Oh like the Bulldogs in the Hills. Well, no, in
- 4:04Speaker 1: college football, it doesn't really work like that. Well, I
- 4:06Speaker 1: like twelve years I've been trying to tell you that
- 4:08Speaker 1: college doesn't work like that. College is the one thing thing.
- 4:12Speaker 3: You be wanting it to. You be wanting to be
- 4:14Speaker 3: the team that you liked us winning Georgia.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Okay u g a command from Florida State. See, I
- 4:23Speaker 1: like how you stuck. Well, you thought I didn't know that,
- 4:25Speaker 1: but I did. Crab legs Southern Missy.
- 4:32Speaker 3: And sir, I've added Georgia State. Excuse me, I'm adding
- 4:37Speaker 3: Georgia State because.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Now you only get you don't get your kids. I can't.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I can't rook for them, you can.
- 4:44Speaker 9: I can I add for myself because my school, West
- 4:47Speaker 9: Georgia is now Division one their FCS.
- 4:50Speaker 1: But come on over here with Southern myths. Comes sit
- 4:54Speaker 1: next to me. I show you the ropes down twenty Dougle.
- 5:03Speaker 1: They used to refer to us as the school on
- 5:04Speaker 1: forty nine. Come on over here, let me show you
- 5:06Speaker 1: how right before you get to the Alabama state line
- 5:09Speaker 1: in twenty minutes. Yeah they see that. They always said
- 5:13Speaker 1: about two hours past Alabama. But we are happy to
- 5:18Speaker 1: be here the world of sports. Tomorrow, the Olympics opening
- 5:23Speaker 1: ceremony will take place, and the great Lebron James will
- 5:28Speaker 1: take the flag bearing position for the US. Along with
- 5:32Speaker 1: Coco Golf. They will bring the teams out. I like
- 5:37Speaker 1: that combination of old and young. I like that how
- 5:42Speaker 1: they you know, not just female and female, but old
- 5:45Speaker 1: and young. You're talking about Lebron. He might not be
- 5:48Speaker 1: the oldest, but he ain't too far behind at the
- 5:52Speaker 1: age of forty or thirty nine forty this year in
- 5:56Speaker 1: Coco Golf, who's what like nineteen twenty now, Yeah, so
- 6:00Speaker 1: she would be some of that younger generation. She's Bronnie's age.
- 6:05Speaker 1: So basically lebron be walking out with his kids arrange
- 6:09Speaker 1: marriage queen to you hall you Hallered running lately. I tried.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I tried to jet out to his party on the yacht,
- 6:21Speaker 1: but and then the background for you all right five, Yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 1: he told me to tell you to hit him. You
- 6:28Speaker 1: know how it worked. He all went back to the
- 6:31Speaker 1: medieval days to get that's what he got to love
- 6:36Speaker 1: ear party and just straight up from in fact the
- 6:41Speaker 1: Instagram model. Yeah you don't riding around on it in
- 6:44Speaker 1: his ferrari. He wanted to get something real, something he
- 6:48Speaker 1: can he can really sink his teeth and we're trying
- 6:50Speaker 1: to get a third generation athlete. Yeah, we ain't gonna
- 6:52Speaker 1: need these Instagram models. That hurts bad producers because he
- 6:55Speaker 1: loves Instagram models. For good morning, guys. What you've been
- 6:58Speaker 1: up to since I last saw you? Just real quick,
- 7:00Speaker 1: bad producer, Uh, just playing a little golf and teaching teaching. Okay,
- 7:06Speaker 1: bad Big Kenny. When the last time you saw everybody
- 7:10Speaker 1: I was told it was that was last Thursday. It's
- 7:15Speaker 1: been a while. I know, I thought I the only
- 7:17Speaker 1: one that was Hey, I didn't know.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I didn't know I was Uh, it's been a week, man,
- 7:25Speaker 3: I don't know I've been I felt like you sports Jack.
- 7:28Speaker 3: When I came back to the world, it was like
- 7:30Speaker 3: a different president.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Uh, you know, and traveling and things like that.
- 7:35Speaker 10: Uh.
- 7:35Speaker 3: When I travel, I go deeper south, so they don't
- 7:38Speaker 3: have things like signals and waves and radar waves and.
- 7:45Speaker 1: In the South Asia kinda like that. It's places in
- 7:49Speaker 1: Mississippi just kind of like South America and commands you Greg,
- 7:53Speaker 1: what you've been up to, man, told any jokes lately?
- 7:55Speaker 1: Give me your funniest thing right now, right now, come on,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I ain't got it what I'm sad man, But guys,
- 8:12Speaker 1: football season is back. I mean, we're going to go
- 8:14Speaker 1: into a football season with no Nick Saban and no
- 8:19Speaker 1: Bill Belichick, at least in the coaching part of the sport.
- 8:24Speaker 1: We do know both of those gentlemen and Hall of
- 8:27Speaker 1: famers will be in booths and desk doing reports, being
- 8:33Speaker 1: part of panels but neither one on the sideline. I'm
- 8:37Speaker 1: quite sure we would have to do some math and
- 8:40Speaker 1: probably have to go back to the seventies to find
- 8:44Speaker 1: a time where neither one of those two were on
- 8:48Speaker 1: a sideline at the same time. We would have to
- 8:51Speaker 1: go and I think it's probably be something like the
- 8:54Speaker 1: Citadel in seventy four. Right.
- 8:56Speaker 3: We talk about how real life always intersects with sports
- 9:02Speaker 3: and entertainment. We talked earlier last season about how it
- 9:08Speaker 3: was time to pass the torch. These guys are getting
- 9:10Speaker 3: a little older, These systems are changing, the mindset of
- 9:14Speaker 3: the athletes changing, and now we see that even at
- 9:17Speaker 3: the top with our leaders of the country. Hey, look
- 9:20Speaker 3: it's time for us to go with You know, you
- 9:22Speaker 3: guys think different.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 9:23Speaker 3: It's a different generation, and I just this will be
- 9:27Speaker 3: the first football season that we're going into that We're
- 9:30Speaker 3: going to be seeing a lot of first based on
- 9:33Speaker 3: people transitioning out of positions because of their age.
- 9:36Speaker 1: And I think age with a lot of things, especially
- 9:39Speaker 1: with sports, guys will get tired. I think with the
- 9:43Speaker 1: add on, especially in college football, of the nil, it
- 9:48Speaker 1: can become too taxing. It's almost with our age group
- 9:52Speaker 1: here sitting at the table. Some of the stuff that
- 9:55Speaker 1: goes at the president used to stop at the governor
- 10:00Speaker 1: right right. The governor answered those three questions that was
- 10:04Speaker 1: on him. You need to go talk to your governor
- 10:07Speaker 1: of your state. I don't even know how you got
- 10:09Speaker 1: the d C right with that. That's not a DC right,
- 10:13Speaker 1: that's not DC question, but everything Springfield, Illinois, president right over.
- 10:19Speaker 1: So you know a lot of times, you know the
- 10:22Speaker 1: big city mayor and then everything jumps to the president
- 10:28Speaker 1: as though there's no other officials. But the governor's name
- 10:32Speaker 1: used to be bigger outrageous in Chicago. Mister mayor, what
- 10:37Speaker 1: are you going to do? I'm going to ask the
- 10:39Speaker 1: president to wait. Wait, yeah, the president, And so you
- 10:43Speaker 1: don't want to go to the city councils. Yeah, you
- 10:48Speaker 1: went up a lot of steps and when you missed
- 10:51Speaker 1: that scip And I'm using that with sports, it's an
- 10:54Speaker 1: add on where the coach just kind of coach. Now
- 10:57Speaker 1: he is running basically just running the corporation, right, And
- 11:02Speaker 1: I got to ask some questions on all levels from
- 11:06Speaker 1: you know, equipment, why did y'all go with that color?
- 11:10Speaker 1: I wasn't even in that meeting but uniform color. But
- 11:14Speaker 1: they you know, they have to go on. This is
- 11:16Speaker 1: my first time seeing the thing the revealed. I just
- 11:19Speaker 1: found out. Want to back out? Yeah, you went from
- 11:21Speaker 1: Nike to Oh I wasn't at that. That had nothing
- 11:24Speaker 1: to do with me. That's the Nike Rebok department. How
- 11:28Speaker 1: did y'all get up here? But that's how And I
- 11:30Speaker 1: think that's what weighs on those coaches. I think that's
- 11:33Speaker 1: why someone like a Belichick, the athlete he's getting now
- 11:37Speaker 1: from college, his babysitting kind of mindset is over. He
- 11:42Speaker 1: can't do that.
- 11:43Speaker 11: Coach, athlete that saving is getting is babyfied and even
- 11:48Speaker 11: more so you know.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Yeah, he han't spend two days a week. Coach. How
- 11:54Speaker 1: do you feel about the Nike deal? We got a
- 11:56Speaker 1: Nike deal, We.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Got a nice who somebody, but you you know, you
- 12:01Speaker 3: think about it.
- 12:01Speaker 1: We go ahead, but we got a big show for
- 12:03Speaker 1: you today. We'll be back with more of the sports
- 12:05Speaker 1: jock Show, Glad to be bad. Hopefully you can hear
- 12:08Speaker 1: it in our voices Big Kenny Comanchi, Greg the Bad
- 12:11Speaker 1: producer right after this break. Yeh, we're am a start
- 12:18Speaker 1: of that.
- 12:19Speaker 12: Look, I'm a part of that downtown Philly, Brince Tiler
- 12:21Speaker 12: in a heart attack. It wasn't Philly that telling Tilla started.
- 12:25Speaker 12: Now with somebody caught every night on the arm.
- 12:27Speaker 13: And neck, John Bolwayne bar of The Sports Jock Show

- 15:18Speaker 18: Now it's time to present the Jock of the Day
- 15:21Speaker 18: on the Sports Jockshow.
- 15:22Speaker 1: It's taken it to a completely different level this.
- 15:24Speaker 18: Year where we highlight an athlete that has taken their
- 15:27Speaker 18: game to the next level.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Shows pasta.
- 15:43Speaker 19: Pastassin, I look pretty boy, I hear O.
- 15:48Speaker 16: Come comes in the moment when you want to hurt something.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Welk back to the sport Stock Show. I'm the sports Shock.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Wayne gave the good morning to us. We said the
- 15:57Speaker 1: Olympics twenty twenty four opening ceremony tomorrow over in Paris,
- 16:02Speaker 1: but right now in the NFL training camps, are opening
- 16:07Speaker 1: around the country, most people on their third, four fifth
- 16:11Speaker 1: day here. I'm quite sure we next weekend we'll see
- 16:16Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame game. I'm not sure who's playing
- 16:19Speaker 1: in it, comanch you. Greg will find that information out
- 16:21Speaker 1: for me as we go forward. But the NFL season
- 16:27Speaker 1: is back, So that means that half the things I'm
- 16:31Speaker 1: gonna click to I'm gonna get mad at because they're
- 16:34Speaker 1: gonna be about betting. I'm gonna think I'm about to
- 16:36Speaker 1: watch football show and all they're gonna be talking about, Well,
- 16:39Speaker 1: you know, Vegas as three points on the Jets, but
- 16:44Speaker 1: now that doesn't the prop bet on the over is
- 16:49Speaker 1: just two points shy of the spread for the under.
- 16:52Speaker 9: To your the Hall of Fame game is the Texans
- 16:57Speaker 9: and the Bears.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Okay, Texans and Bears, and it's the Bears brains two.
- 17:04Speaker 1: But is there prop bet on? Uh? What's the Caleb
- 17:09Speaker 1: Williams is that it's how many how many plays? How
- 17:14Speaker 1: many passes a complete?
- 17:16Speaker 9: I had not seen that, but normally, well I haven't.
- 17:20Speaker 9: I haven't seen anything any anything about that yet. So
- 17:25Speaker 9: because this is those both those teams would play four
- 17:30Speaker 9: preseason games instead of three.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And Caleb Williams is the first pick of the draft
- 17:35Speaker 1: to the Bears out of USC, signing a deal last week.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Comanchie greg and Bad Producer both very interested in his contract.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Word is that he came in with a very I
- 17:54Speaker 1: would imagine it was all centered around taxes. He was
- 17:58Speaker 1: trying different tax schemes to be able. Was the LSC
- 18:02Speaker 1: he wanted them to pay him through, or the forgivable
- 18:05Speaker 1: loan he wanted them to pay him. It was probably
- 18:08Speaker 1: some kind of way to save a couple of million
- 18:15Speaker 1: dollars at the end of it. It's not an unusual
- 18:19Speaker 1: tactic to go in with advisors that have tried to
- 18:24Speaker 1: see if the team will go for now. I don't
- 18:26Speaker 1: know many teams that have calling for that. They don't
- 18:31Speaker 1: like to get tied into that. Their whole thing is,
- 18:34Speaker 1: here's the check, and y'all y'all go figure that out
- 18:40Speaker 1: before y'all have me in front of hungers. And that's
- 18:43Speaker 1: typically how they're not telling you after I give you
- 18:46Speaker 1: a check, if you want to try to put it
- 18:48Speaker 1: in this, just don't rope us into it. It's typically
- 18:52Speaker 1: their stance things by performance by bonuses or tickets or
- 18:58Speaker 1: something charity that they kind of can do it easily,
- 19:04Speaker 1: keep proceipts. But things when you start coming out, you
- 19:07Speaker 1: know you're gonna have to call Tony, will you pay
- 19:10Speaker 1: Big Kenny? And then he called Tony and let Big
- 19:14Speaker 1: Kenny pay me that They don't really like to do
- 19:16Speaker 1: all that, And I think, but and for good read
- 19:19Speaker 1: but he's not the only one that's tries this is
- 19:21Speaker 1: not odd. You usually go see how the tag this
- 19:25Speaker 1: is what you hired people for. Who's like I said,
- 19:28Speaker 1: who's the mayor, who's the governor? Who you think is
- 19:30Speaker 1: going to be president? Which law is coming into effect
- 19:33Speaker 1: next year twenty eleven, twenty twelve, twenty thirteen is going
- 19:37Speaker 1: to be such and such break Well, let's see if
- 19:40Speaker 1: we can take the twenty third, I mean not twenty
- 19:42Speaker 1: the twenty twenty six salary and do this with it.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Because that year my cousin Tony tried, hey man, let
- 19:50Speaker 1: me pay you, you pay you pay me back with
- 19:56Speaker 1: no and in court they don't like that either. A
- 20:00Speaker 1: bad producer says that he even heard things like a
- 20:04Speaker 1: nail tech Caleb Williams, one of the nail tech around
- 20:09Speaker 1: now staff as a coach. I doubt I would need
- 20:15Speaker 1: to Caleb would have to tell me that this couldn't
- 20:19Speaker 1: be a story that floated through. Caleb likes his nails done.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I doubt that he was asking for the person to
- 20:28Speaker 1: be on staff. Where'd you get that from? I would
- 20:31Speaker 1: he I would imagine he might be like trying to
- 20:36Speaker 1: place come in on a Friday. They wanted to be
- 20:41Speaker 1: his counselor on the staff. But where are you getting this?
- 20:45Speaker 1: That sounds like that sounds like the depths of Reddit
- 20:49Speaker 1: or Twitter or it was off X see yeah that's
- 20:55Speaker 1: what Yeah, when these when you said it, I'm like,
- 20:57Speaker 1: these sounds like did you say a petting zoo? Traveling
- 21:02Speaker 1: pet pet? Now? Listen, listen, listen, listen.
- 21:06Speaker 3: I think that's no, no, no, really quick, really quick,
- 21:09Speaker 3: say it slow. I'm not trying to cuddle with his
- 21:15Speaker 3: dog after the game. So I can imagine he asking
- 21:18Speaker 3: for some of the stuff. Now, don't don't know I'm
- 21:21Speaker 3: speaking now. I'm telling no, no, speaking too fast to
- 21:24Speaker 3: comprehend it. Say it's slow. This man wants a traveling
- 21:29Speaker 3: he I'm petting zoo. Do you know how you're doing
- 21:32Speaker 3: animal resources?
- 21:34Speaker 1: The animal people would crash out every city he went to. Well,
- 21:39Speaker 1: here's what I would throw at you when you read
- 21:41Speaker 1: certain things. Why would a football player need a traveling
- 21:44Speaker 1: petting zoo when they only have unless you make the
- 21:48Speaker 1: playoffs ten road games that are in length forty eight
- 21:54Speaker 1: hours at best, you're gonna traumatize them animals with boxing
- 21:58Speaker 1: them up and giving him some some some help, some
- 22:02Speaker 1: food for thought. When he reads certain things, why would
- 22:05Speaker 1: I need We're gonna leave right now, and we're gonna
- 22:08Speaker 1: fly to Buffalo, and tomorrow at one we're gonna play Buffalo,
- 22:14Speaker 1: right and then tomorrow night we will be back.
- 22:20Speaker 3: He might be taking at nine o'clock. He may be
- 22:23Speaker 3: taking his dog with it, and he needs something.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Remember the four hundred million dollars I gave you. I
- 22:32Speaker 1: think you can find an executive. Remember this is only
- 22:36Speaker 1: ten trips a year. Is This isn't basketball of baseball,
- 22:41Speaker 1: This is football, right? You got ten trips right, one
- 22:46Speaker 1: of them is in Saint Louis, So y'all will be
- 22:48Speaker 1: back by six o'clock. Y'all be catching the second game
- 22:51Speaker 1: at home. That's how fast it's gonna just fly out
- 22:53Speaker 1: on the Saint Louis and fly back. So I'm just
- 22:56Speaker 1: helping you. Don't let Twitter or wherever gossip bossip or whatever.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Those things. These are just some yeah. So no, why
- 23:08Speaker 1: would he need a nail technician because he said he'd
- 23:10Speaker 1: like to get his nails done before every game. Box
- 23:14Speaker 1: up baby ponies and ship them across the country so
- 23:19Speaker 1: this boy can pet them between quarters. Stop. I'm saying
- 23:24Speaker 1: for you to even bring that like it might be
- 23:27Speaker 1: for real. Just say that stuff slower when you be
- 23:30Speaker 1: thinking about it. Yeah, we don't even have time to
- 23:32Speaker 1: very they see our parents or kids. Football is not
- 23:36Speaker 1: like other sports. When you travel, it's very in and out.
- 23:41Speaker 1: There's a two hour window, and then you're in a
- 23:45Speaker 1: meeting and then you sleep, and then you're on a
- 23:47Speaker 1: bus to go play a game, and then you're on
- 23:49Speaker 1: the bus to go to the airport to fly back.
- 23:51Speaker 1: That's kind of it. Hey man, I ain't see my
- 23:54Speaker 1: goat though, more sports after.
- 24:02Speaker 8: He again a nice round woolock a watermelon.
- 24:10Speaker 13: Don't go away? Or of the Sports Jock Show with
- 24:12Speaker 13: Wayne Dandridius dumbing up next.

- 25:50Speaker 21: Daisy was abandoned by her family and placed in foster

- 25:58Speaker 21: She thought she never have a permanent place to call home.
- 26:03Speaker 22: Before I was adopted, I felt like I wasn't enough.
- 26:06Speaker 22: I had this hole in my heart and I never

- 26:12Speaker 22: my mom asked to adopt me, that hole was closed.
- 26:15Speaker 22: It feels so normal now to say that I'm a

- 26:20Speaker 22: feel safe, and that hole inside of me is gone.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I am whole.

- 26:52Speaker 1: And now back to the sports job Wayne in the RADZ.
- 27:04Speaker 19: Yes you announced to the sound of the legend. Stop watching,
- 27:23Speaker 19: wait mate to this what show them?
- 27:25Speaker 1: This what shop? Wayne Kanji sad story coming once again
- 27:29Speaker 1: out of our youth basketball league. Video has come out
- 27:35Speaker 1: of a young thirteen year old basketball player viciously stumping
- 27:39Speaker 1: his opponent in the head in the middle of the
- 27:43Speaker 1: game over the weekend where Peyton's Place was playing to
- 27:49Speaker 1: Macko Bow United. This was out in California. Two opposing
- 27:57Speaker 1: players or fighting for the ball on the This thirteen
- 28:02Speaker 1: year old his teammate enters the freight and as they
- 28:07Speaker 1: are fighting for possession of the ball, because the referee
- 28:11Speaker 1: has not deemed who has the ball yet, he hasn't
- 28:14Speaker 1: won what's what, He's given him time to fight for
- 28:17Speaker 1: the ball, the teammate decides to kick the young man
- 28:21Speaker 1: in the head on the ground. Police are investigating this
- 28:28Speaker 1: case and we will definitely have to see about this.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Let it breathe a little bit on the ruling now
- 28:39Speaker 1: in these cases we have talked about, it seems like
- 28:42Speaker 1: something like this in sports jumps out at least twice
- 28:47Speaker 1: a year in the youth sport or high school. When
- 28:52Speaker 1: it always stays out in me is the football game
- 28:55Speaker 1: they was having in Texas where two players had decided
- 29:00Speaker 1: they were going to take the referee out. I think
- 29:02Speaker 1: they might have been juniors in high school or something
- 29:05Speaker 1: like that. And in this case with the thirteen year old,
- 29:09Speaker 1: it looks like something that a Dramond Green would do
- 29:15Speaker 1: and then try to get away with it. When I
- 29:18Speaker 1: saw the video, it definitely a couple of years ago.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I think it was a playoff game. Maybe they were
- 29:23Speaker 1: playing Dallas or the Pelicans, and he like he had
- 29:29Speaker 1: jumped yeah, yeah, the Kings, the Kings. That was last year, okay,
- 29:34Speaker 1: And he tried to play it off like he had
- 29:37Speaker 1: nowhere else to step. And when you watched this video
- 29:41Speaker 1: of this young man and his was even more intentional.
- 29:46Speaker 1: It was an actual stump. It wasn't in movement. And
- 29:52Speaker 1: the mother of the young kid that was on the
- 29:54Speaker 1: ground says, the son is suffering from concussion and it's
- 29:58Speaker 1: just a bad moment to watch that. This is kind
- 30:04Speaker 1: of how our young men and women see sports, and
- 30:10Speaker 1: in some sports, it's like growing up a lot of things.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Emulation in sports is a true thing. Yeah, don't ever
- 30:19Speaker 1: let that be. We all see a lot of your moves,
- 30:24Speaker 1: a lot of when they interview a person, it's something
- 30:28Speaker 1: that you're sitting there studying. Whether it's the good and
- 30:32Speaker 1: the bad. It's not just you know, it's the it's
- 30:35Speaker 1: how you handle, how you're gonna do your touchdown dance.
- 30:38Speaker 1: You know that that kid that might do the prime
- 30:42Speaker 1: time well he was six or seven when Dion was
- 30:45Speaker 1: doing the dance and that stuck in his mind. When
- 30:48Speaker 1: I get me a chant, I'm gonna do that same thing.
- 30:50Speaker 1: This looks like And I'm not putting it on Draymond.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I'm just saying it looks like something that you saw
- 30:58Speaker 1: and I want it to be that. I don't because
- 31:01Speaker 1: other than that you have an anger issue. Yeah, you
- 31:03Speaker 1: gotta you gotta unhand. This is not even your teammate.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And the kid was fighting, right, they were going and
- 31:11Speaker 1: now see this is this is something favor If y'all fighting,
- 31:14Speaker 1: maybe it still would have been wrong. But this is
- 31:17Speaker 1: that time where we're both trying to get the ball
- 31:20Speaker 1: and you you don't understand the game.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Obviously, it was interesting to me that, uh, the referee
- 31:28Speaker 3: did not make the call when they were trying to
- 31:31Speaker 3: get positioned for control of the ball. The player of
- 31:37Speaker 3: the the teammate of the player that stumped the kid
- 31:40Speaker 3: grabbed the kid by his shirt and pulled the shirt first,
- 31:45Speaker 3: then like pulled him down and then went for the ball.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Still no whistle. I thought that would have been the fouled.
- 31:51Speaker 3: I thought that would have stopped the play, but it
- 31:54Speaker 3: kept going and then you could you could almost see
- 31:58Speaker 3: the kid have a moment where he flashed to another place,
- 32:03Speaker 3: like when they went on the ground, something from where
- 32:07Speaker 3: he's from outside of this connected with him and this
- 32:12Speaker 3: is what we do in those is what it looked
- 32:14Speaker 3: like to me. You would have to see the video
- 32:16Speaker 3: for yourself and make your own judgments, but it didn't
- 32:20Speaker 3: seem to me as if he were emulating anything other
- 32:23Speaker 3: than the environment that he's comfortable in.
- 32:27Speaker 11: Well, you know, it was a big weekend for a
- 32:30Speaker 11: lot of high school basketball with the Cruse eybl had
- 32:34Speaker 11: piece jail in Augusta, where you had everybody's there, Bryce James,
- 32:39Speaker 11: the Twins, I forgot the player what's his name, the
- 32:45Speaker 11: Cameron Boozer, the Boozer brothers. They had a lot of
- 32:48Speaker 11: people and it was a video out where Carmelo ethny
- 32:51Speaker 11: son Kaya got into a little scuffle right there in
- 32:55Speaker 11: front of Carmelo, And there's been a lot of people
- 32:57Speaker 11: up said it was like, well, if that wasn't Carmelo,
- 33:00Speaker 11: that parent would have got ran out of the gym
- 33:02Speaker 11: because when it happened in front of him and he
- 33:04Speaker 11: came up and he sort of separated his son and
- 33:07Speaker 11: the kid that was fussing, and a lot of people
- 33:10Speaker 11: felt like that the referees didn't handle that job. They
- 33:12Speaker 11: let Carmelo stay because of who he was. But if
- 33:15Speaker 11: it was any other parent, do you think that they
- 33:17Speaker 11: would have a referee? Was it something that Carmelo do
- 33:21Speaker 11: something that was illegal? You should have throw him out?
- 33:25Speaker 11: As an official, I wouldn't. I would have throw him out.
- 33:27Speaker 11: I would just say, hey, be mindful. But it was
- 33:31Speaker 11: good that he was there where it happened because it
- 33:33Speaker 11: could have went to that situation because there was no
- 33:37Speaker 11: referees in sight at that moment. I don't know where
- 33:40Speaker 11: it was, and they was over there and it was
- 33:41Speaker 11: just it happened in front of him and he just
- 33:43Speaker 11: happened to stand up and justa hey guys like that,
- 33:47Speaker 11: and then it's just been a if you watched the video,
- 33:49Speaker 11: it's it's just.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Why do you think people would criticize.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Because any other parent if it wasn't Carmelo Anthony. There's
- 33:56Speaker 3: been parents. I've seen parents ran.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Out of this. It wasn't so if Barack Obama had
- 34:01Speaker 1: stood up and separated the kids, he would have got
- 34:03Speaker 1: that treatment would have got Oh, he wouldn't have got
- 34:06Speaker 1: ran out of the gym either. Okay, so you're saying
- 34:08Speaker 1: it's just Carmelo Anthony. If somebody authority sticks up that.
- 34:15Speaker 1: When Illo had a basketball game of his kid, it
- 34:18Speaker 1: seemed as an authority. He didn't favor one kid or
- 34:21Speaker 1: the other. He broke up a fight that fell into
- 34:23Speaker 1: his lap. Well, he was what you're sitting as a fan.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Excuse me, Well, he wasn't a coach. He wasn't.
- 34:29Speaker 11: He was sitting in the stands as a fan. And
- 34:31Speaker 11: there's a rule that's high school. You cannot enter on
- 34:35Speaker 11: the playing for he walked on the floor and helped separate.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Okay, you didn't say that part. You said the fight
- 34:40Speaker 1: fell in front of him, right on the floor, because okay,
- 34:45Speaker 1: let me apologize. You didn't say he walked onto the floor.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Kept that part. Well, I'm sorry, I didn't know I
- 34:51Speaker 1: had to say he walked on the floor.
- 34:52Speaker 23: But it.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Bro what I be trying to the judge man, I
- 35:00Speaker 1: ain't know, you wasn't supposed to. That makes a whole
- 35:03Speaker 1: different story. That's what makes entered the player field. That's
- 35:07Speaker 1: what they keep saying, the player. I mean, that's a
- 35:11Speaker 1: different your breaking violation. That's what they keep telling.
- 35:15Speaker 24: You.
- 35:16Speaker 1: We're gonna move on because I understand you just made it,
- 35:19Speaker 1: but people need to know that your first explanation is
- 35:24Speaker 1: like whatever action fell into Carmelo, who we imagine is
- 35:28Speaker 1: sitting on the front road right, Well, it's only one row.
- 35:31Speaker 11: If you look at the gym in the gym, well,
- 35:34Speaker 11: I'm just telling That's why I'm trying to explain the
- 35:35Speaker 11: piece gym.
- 35:36Speaker 1: They got fold out chairs. It's really barely room from
- 35:40Speaker 1: here to hear of. The key to the part to
- 35:43Speaker 1: put me in jail is that I walked out onto
- 35:47Speaker 1: the floor, the floor. If you told the the way
- 35:52Speaker 1: you told it, I would have let the suspect go.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I was defending Carmo, so I didn't know. I thought
- 36:04Speaker 1: he didn't don't let me. You did defend me in
- 36:07Speaker 1: court because I thought he was trying to get Carmello
- 36:11Speaker 1: convicted and kicked out.
- 36:12Speaker 11: Now I was defending him because I said, oh wow, wow,
- 36:15Speaker 11: you ain't that kid both don't know what game.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Camelo is not wrong in a sense where he needed
- 36:21Speaker 1: to be put out, but he is wrong to where
- 36:24Speaker 1: I understand why someone would call for him to be
- 36:28Speaker 1: pulled out. Now I can understand why those people were
- 36:30Speaker 1: saying Carmelo needs to please put out because he went
- 36:33Speaker 1: into the field of play. Right right now, I'm correct,
- 36:37Speaker 1: question correct. We we were talking about the.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Referee and the kid, and we said they weren't fighting,
- 36:44Speaker 3: and thinks, why is it now that almost like the
- 36:48Speaker 3: mayor straight to the president instead of the governor. Why
- 36:50Speaker 3: are people asking for the officials on the court and
- 36:56Speaker 3: the people president at the game to manage behavior of
- 37:00Speaker 3: children that come there from home. This isn't a college program.
- 37:05Speaker 3: This is a You got a kid that at eleven
- 37:08Speaker 3: thirty you put in your car and drove to the gym,
- 37:11Speaker 3: and now he's stepping on people, and y'all looking at
- 37:14Speaker 3: the reff like, hey man, what are you gonna do?
- 37:17Speaker 3: Nobody want to talk to his counselor or nothing, you
- 37:19Speaker 3: know what I'm saying. Don't nobody want to see who
- 37:21Speaker 3: in charge of this kid?
- 37:23Speaker 10: Like?
- 37:23Speaker 1: Why are these kids?
- 37:25Speaker 3: This is obviously a violation, you know even if Draymond
- 37:28Speaker 3: did it trying to emulate that you know that's wrong.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Well, you hire these kids showing up so willing to
- 37:34Speaker 1: be wrong.
- 37:35Speaker 11: You're correct because to assistance, because there has I've been
- 37:39Speaker 11: in this sort of while pulled back from doing summer basketball.
- 37:43Speaker 1: We had there was a big ball one time and
- 37:45Speaker 1: my good friend he was in the middle of it.
- 37:47Speaker 11: But the thing about it is you had two teams
- 37:50Speaker 11: that are from an area that happened to lose and
- 37:53Speaker 11: they was already mad. You have to know these dynamics
- 37:56Speaker 11: of where these kids are coming from in situations like
- 37:58Speaker 11: you said, he went, he went to where his environment
- 38:01Speaker 11: was instead of staying in command with the game.
- 38:04Speaker 1: So you have to be as a re official.
- 38:06Speaker 11: You have to understand when these travel teams and you
- 38:09Speaker 11: got these coaches that some of them are not certified
- 38:12Speaker 11: to coach, some of them just guys that hey, I'm
- 38:15Speaker 11: a coach.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I used to be good, and.
- 38:17Speaker 11: You got a lot of things going on and I
- 38:19Speaker 11: think it's I don't know, it's it's tough right now.
- 38:22Speaker 1: But in projective you're standing on the premise like it
- 38:28Speaker 1: should be Big Kenny, where the actions of a player
- 38:34Speaker 1: resignates more of his household, his parents than it does
- 38:39Speaker 1: a coach at that age.
- 38:42Speaker 3: I can see if Duke, I can see if Duke's
- 38:45Speaker 3: stomping out people. You look, man, what are you teaching
- 38:47Speaker 3: these kids here? Because they there every day. But this
- 38:50Speaker 3: dude only come to me from Saturday, Coach and the referees.
- 38:56Speaker 3: What did you send me? What did you send me?
- 38:58Speaker 1: I got him eight to eleven on Saturday afternoon. You
- 39:03Speaker 1: sent me this, and now he's stopping somebody and everybody
- 39:06Speaker 1: looking at me like, coach, do you have a statement?
- 39:09Speaker 1: I'm scared. That's my statement. We'll be back. Are you
- 39:15Speaker 1: writing along? You're not beating your days? Come get Melis,
- 39:20Speaker 1: get me, don't diss me, don't check me, John.
- 39:26Speaker 13: Boy, Wayne Boar of the sports Josh Hill with Wayne
- 39:28Speaker 13: Dandriez coming up next.
- 39:31Speaker 1: The future depends on teachers.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Every day, teachers are shaping our tomorrows, starting their students
- 39:39Speaker 2: on journeys that will change the course of history. Right now,
- 39:43Speaker 2: in a classroom somewhere in the United States, there's a
- 39:46Speaker 2: teacher inspiring a future scientist who'll make preventing pandemics their
- 39:50Speaker 2: life's work. Sharpening the mind of an aspiring environmentalist will
- 39:54Speaker 2: helpe come back, climate change, and generating possibilities for a
- 39:58Speaker 2: student who will be the first in their family to

- 42:03Speaker 27: And now back to the sports. John Wayne Yamsy between
- 42:26Speaker 27: a lock on, say you can see a sports chant.
- 42:30Speaker 27: I'll sing even.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Big canny way back to this one. Shock John, this
- 42:36Speaker 1: one shock Wayne Gamdy. Good morning to you once again,
- 42:39Speaker 1: big Kenny bab producer. Come on you, Greg up in
- 42:43Speaker 1: the building. Uh the ESPN, Greg, you said, have one
- 42:47Speaker 1: hundred greatest of the twenty first century. Yes, they did
- 42:52Speaker 1: a list, and you said at number one was Tom Brady. Yes,
- 42:57Speaker 1: who was two? I can't remember tho list. I think
- 43:03Speaker 1: it was. It wasn't Lebron and it wasn't Tiger Serena.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Can you see?
- 43:10Speaker 9: I think Serena was like somewhere around eight or nine,
- 43:14Speaker 9: So who could be too? I think it was like
- 43:16Speaker 9: Messy or I think it was a soccer Can you
- 43:19Speaker 9: see how number one only counts.
- 43:21Speaker 1: He didn't even read to two the one hundred greatest
- 43:25Speaker 1: athletes of the century, and he just read number one
- 43:29Speaker 1: and everybody else is irrelevant. I'm pulling up the list
- 43:34Speaker 1: right now. Number one.
- 43:36Speaker 9: Oh absolutely, I'm sorry. Number one was not Tom Brady.
- 43:38Speaker 9: Number one was Michael Phelps, two, Serena's number two, Messy's
- 43:45Speaker 9: number three, Lebron number four, Tom Brady number five.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Okay, so let's make sure we get people understand we
- 43:54Speaker 1: have a correction. Tom Brady was not the number one
- 43:58Speaker 1: he was number five. Ahead of him was Michael Phelps,
- 44:03Speaker 1: Lionel Messi, Serena Williams, Lebron James, and then Tom Brady.
- 44:12Speaker 1: I don't know now Tom, I could see you. Tell
- 44:16Speaker 1: me Tom was one. Tom Phelps they have him in one.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Phelps is number one. I don't know about Aquaman being one.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I can see him at five. How many of you
- 44:31Speaker 1: did he wein?
- 44:33Speaker 5: This is it?
- 44:33Speaker 28: This is it?
- 44:34Speaker 3: What are we quantifying as greatest through accomplishment, through awarded
- 44:41Speaker 3: accomplishment something where you received the championship, you won the
- 44:45Speaker 3: well bring what what?
- 44:47Speaker 1: What are we trying to? Twenty three gold medals? A
- 44:50Speaker 1: lot of gold medal Yeah, I guess what I'm I'm
- 44:52Speaker 1: looking at is in that group the longevity? Yeah yeah,
- 44:57Speaker 1: he only for he was getting like ten medals per Olympics.
- 45:05Speaker 1: So we're talking about in like a two year space
- 45:07Speaker 1: eight you can only play your schedule though longevity where
- 45:12Speaker 1: in the sport itself? Serena, Tom Lebron mess we're talking
- 45:17Speaker 1: about twenty year careers of excellent versus eight. That's interesting
- 45:28Speaker 1: to be.
- 45:28Speaker 3: One, yeah, because I mean but still I would imagine
- 45:31Speaker 3: people who voted on that would even people like Phelps
- 45:35Speaker 3: would and you were trying to beat the world.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Well, And the thing too is direct competition and then competition.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Michael Phelps didn't have direct competition. Direct competition means there's
- 45:52Speaker 1: an opponent that's trying to stop you from being great.
- 45:59Speaker 1: There's somebody on the other side. In swimming, there's nobody
- 46:03Speaker 1: stopping you from being great. There's no hurdle in front
- 46:09Speaker 1: of you.
- 46:10Speaker 3: The pool, the clock that is. And see, I'm I'm
- 46:14Speaker 3: not someone who is trying to support or denounced somehow
- 46:23Speaker 3: in this list. It's just that I know people compete.
- 46:26Speaker 3: When I competed in sports, I competed in the solitary
- 46:30Speaker 3: solo sports outside of wrestling, it was shot put, it
- 46:34Speaker 3: was stuff like that.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Where I had to get in the zone and beat
- 46:37Speaker 1: me and so.
- 46:40Speaker 3: To the level that again and again, I don't know
- 46:44Speaker 3: if that qualifies him to be no shadow.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Boxing, you're just boxing by yourself. And one of the
- 46:56Speaker 1: biggest things about his sport that I've heard and he
- 46:59Speaker 1: can on he he's the more of official than me,
- 47:02Speaker 1: is that you're not playing the opponent, you're playing the course.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Right Is that not something that that's what's been said? So,
- 47:13Speaker 1: but in the other, there's somebody on the other side
- 47:16Speaker 1: of that net when Serena is trying to get this trophy.
- 47:22Speaker 1: But this is what I'm gonna say. That's how the
- 47:26Speaker 1: game is designed. But that part so when I come out.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Hold On, sir, I'm saying, when I come out here,
- 47:33Speaker 3: the game, however, it's designed when I got into it. Golf,
- 47:37Speaker 3: track and field, swimming, gymnastic. That's how the game was
- 47:40Speaker 3: designed when I got into it. And that's what everybody
- 47:44Speaker 3: has to do. And I do that better than anybody.
- 47:48Speaker 1: I'm not diminishing Singlar accomplishment greatness, right, Okay, I'm telling
- 47:57Speaker 1: you I've seen brilliance in people when there's no competition. Yes,
- 48:07Speaker 1: it's easy to walk into a basketball game, a gym
- 48:10Speaker 1: and see a guy and why isn't he starting? Okay,
- 48:14Speaker 1: hold on, Kobe, come over here and garden and now
- 48:18Speaker 1: you see why he's not. That's why you you the backup.
- 48:21Speaker 1: But I mean, is it not it's throwing a ball.
- 48:26Speaker 1: People get excited when they see Cortable, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick.
- 48:30Speaker 1: A lot of guys have put out those videos where
- 48:32Speaker 1: they're doing this. They're rolling and they're throwing and that
- 48:35Speaker 1: looks cool until Darrel Reeves breaks on that ball and
- 48:41Speaker 1: intercepts it. It looks great and I'm just giving you
- 48:45Speaker 1: first hand knowledge. Oh man, you look pretty in your set.
- 48:49Speaker 1: Look how you're hitting that bag. You're punching that oh
- 48:52Speaker 1: you got and then I put you in the game. Okay,
- 48:54Speaker 1: Lawrence Taylor, come on over here, hello, rush him a
- 48:58Speaker 1: little bit bagmuds movement. Now all a sudden you froze,
- 49:06Speaker 1: and it's a different And I'm just telling you the
- 49:09Speaker 1: little edge when you to answer your question. Those people had,
- 49:13Speaker 1: those other four people had direct competition of trying to
- 49:17Speaker 1: not let you be right. They had to get up
- 49:21Speaker 1: just like you did, to find the greatestness in them
- 49:27Speaker 1: and then also defeat the competition. Right, that's directly trying
- 49:33Speaker 1: to stop them.
- 49:34Speaker 11: But you don't say that directly competition that I mean,
- 49:37Speaker 11: like like you said, we playing the golf course, but
- 49:39Speaker 11: everybody's playing under the same conditions. You don't have an
- 49:42Speaker 11: advantage when that man jump in the water, when that
- 49:44Speaker 11: buzzer go off, everybody's under the same conditions.
- 49:47Speaker 1: That's that's I mean. And you're still competing. No, I'm
- 49:51Speaker 1: just I'm not saying any of us are wrong as
- 49:53Speaker 1: we go to break. But there's a difference between you
- 49:58Speaker 1: swinging that golf club and he punching you in the
- 50:01Speaker 1: arm while you're doing it. Then you just doing it
- 50:06Speaker 1: on your own. The best way I could make if
- 50:09Speaker 1: I stood and if I stood behind you while you
- 50:12Speaker 1: was in your golf y'all don't even let people. Y'all
- 50:14Speaker 1: don't even like people to talk doing y'all swing comedy
- 50:23Speaker 1: and live comedy.
- 50:24Speaker 3: A lot of people super funny thirty second clips on
- 50:28Speaker 3: the internet, but live on stage, they're not funny at all.
- 50:31Speaker 3: And that's because the audience is that direct competition they're
- 50:35Speaker 3: they're wanting.
- 50:36Speaker 11: You to That's the whole thing I'm saying that, Like
- 50:39Speaker 11: it's you got the pressure of competition of other people
- 50:42Speaker 11: and everything, all the other elements around you. But you know, yeah,
- 50:46Speaker 11: it's nobody directly in front of your gymnastics, track and field,
- 50:49Speaker 11: but you still got to compete on that level.
- 50:52Speaker 1: You have to get somewhere and go down and get
- 50:54Speaker 1: it though, compete when the person you competing in in
- 50:58Speaker 1: golf is not even at the hole with you. You're
- 51:03Speaker 1: on the ninth, holl he on the seventeenth. Maybe y'all
- 51:07Speaker 1: aren't even necessarily in the same place.
- 51:10Speaker 11: After the first two rounds than everybody who they they're

- 52:40Speaker 29: and we need to talk to someone about what we're
- 52:42Speaker 29: really going through. So we're going to reach out because

- 52:58Speaker 1: And now back to the sport John Wayne Gandy.
- 53:03Speaker 30: Center court on sports news gossip blah blah blah blah blah.
- 53:13Speaker 6: Hit me.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Way back to this one shop show. I'm this what
- 53:28Speaker 1: shock Wayne Gandy, Good morning to you, command your great excess.
- 53:32Speaker 1: ESPN had put their top one hundred athletes of the
- 53:37Speaker 1: twenty first century that Tom Brady was five, Bron James
- 53:42Speaker 1: was four, Serena Williams was three, Final sc was two,
- 53:46Speaker 1: and Michael Phelps was one. My only Serena was two.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Serena was two. H and I only thing did you
- 53:54Speaker 1: read this list so we could last week read is
- 53:59Speaker 1: that on the only nugget I was dropping for you
- 54:04Speaker 1: to consider. With Michael Phelps being that weight, I think
- 54:08Speaker 1: that Aquaman deserved his own movie. I thought when they
- 54:13Speaker 1: made Aquaman they should not have cast Jason Momoa. I
- 54:17Speaker 1: thought they should have literally at least put him in
- 54:21Speaker 1: as a cameo, something like when Jason Momore jumped in
- 54:25Speaker 1: the water right the first time, Michaels could have been
- 54:28Speaker 1: like down at the bottom of the ocean, like, what's
- 54:30Speaker 1: up man, something a little cameo. All I was adding
- 54:34Speaker 1: to you is the factor of direct competition. If the
- 54:39Speaker 1: water came alive trying to stop Michael Phelps from swimming,
- 54:45Speaker 1: if the golf course, the sand dunes, at any moment
- 54:49Speaker 1: threw dirt up. Yeah, that's what I'm trying to tell you.
- 54:53Speaker 1: The whole, the whole switched at it when it wanted to.
- 54:57Speaker 1: So you were shooting down there at the flag and
- 55:00Speaker 1: and but right before you went to hit the whole,
- 55:03Speaker 1: as soon as your swing went to going, the whole
- 55:06Speaker 1: moved over. That's direct competition. Because now with throwing the
- 55:10Speaker 1: shot put and wrestling, it was a different getting in
- 55:13Speaker 1: the zone.
- 55:13Speaker 28: You know what.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Against the twin found ball. This dude from northeast Elgin.
- 55:22Speaker 3: Now I think I'm preparing a little bit different. It's
- 55:25Speaker 3: a it's a different set of adrenaline that you draw from.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no kind of and and I know bad
- 55:33Speaker 1: producer would defend that. But people, I'm just adding you,
- 55:36Speaker 1: what if the golf course came alive, hit it with
- 55:38Speaker 1: the wind and the elements, all those rings fell, you
- 55:42Speaker 1: hit the ball, the tree fall and knocked your ball.
- 55:44Speaker 1: Get that out of here, week old. You know I said,
- 55:50Speaker 1: the tree, the tree itself, the tree, and move and
- 55:55Speaker 1: just stepped over and just stepped over this whole seven,
- 55:58Speaker 1: this whole seven. Get that weakness out. I'm trying to
- 56:00Speaker 1: open your brain up to what direct competition means. Yes,
- 56:06Speaker 1: that receiver that you swear is so great, he catches
- 56:09Speaker 1: everything in practice, everything, don't miss nothing, nothing until Prime
- 56:17Speaker 1: came over there and told him. You told him do
- 56:20Speaker 1: that same route. Now Dion standing in front of him,
- 56:23Speaker 1: and now he getting traded next week, next week, they're
- 56:28Speaker 1: looking for someplace. Now you can't get off the jam.
- 56:32Speaker 1: But ten minutes ago he was looking good against that guy.
- 56:36Speaker 1: It's just a it's a totally different thing. Individual with
- 56:39Speaker 1: no that don't take away from your greatness. You dominate.
- 56:43Speaker 1: But the water didn't sink down and drop you below.
- 56:46Speaker 1: It didn't become an obstacle course. So you know, even
- 56:52Speaker 1: th I was saying a couple of weeks ago and
- 56:53Speaker 1: they had the US Olympic Trials and I was watching,
- 56:56Speaker 1: sending him a gokling and they those four hundred meters hurdles.
- 57:02Speaker 1: I don't know that the hurdles is not a greater event.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Remember I was questioning that than just a straight sprint.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Who do you think because there's an obstacle, you're trying
- 57:13Speaker 1: to run and jump, man, that takes a lot of energy.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Every fifty feet you gotta jump. Who do you have
- 57:22Speaker 1: is number one?
- 57:23Speaker 16: Now?
- 57:23Speaker 1: You don't got tied. It used to be just fete
- 57:25Speaker 1: peek pee pee pee pee pee pee pee pee pee
- 57:27Speaker 1: pee pee pee pee pee pee jump, peep peepee feet jump.
- 57:32Speaker 1: So Michael Phelps being there is a little surprising. I
- 57:35Speaker 1: can see him in the top five. But I don't
- 57:38Speaker 1: know that I would say any arrangement of those other five.
- 57:42Speaker 1: When you said, Tom Brady, I didn't really have any
- 57:45Speaker 1: argument to that. How do you argue, you said, Lebron
- 57:49Speaker 1: If you said Serena. You said, Lineman, I don't have
- 57:51Speaker 1: an argument for those not where I can't see it. Michael,
- 57:56Speaker 1: I'm just saying, direct competition, do y'all have a specific
- 58:04Speaker 1: one that you would no no I and for.
- 58:09Speaker 7: No no.
- 58:10Speaker 3: Framing it that way made so much more sense to
- 58:13Speaker 3: me because I remember starting in comedy, a lot of
- 58:16Speaker 3: people bemoan the practice of having to get up in
- 58:19Speaker 3: front of an audience that booze. I'm not saying it's
- 58:22Speaker 3: the right way to start, but I feel like it
- 58:25Speaker 3: made me stronger because there was someone out there who
- 58:30Speaker 3: didn't want to see me succeed tonight. I've got to
- 58:33Speaker 3: be better than that person, you know what I mean.
- 58:35Speaker 3: That audience member that came strictly.
- 58:38Speaker 1: To boo has to look ridiculous booing me because I'm
- 58:42Speaker 1: so funny. People are like, what are you doing? And
- 58:45Speaker 1: that I feel like made me better.
- 58:47Speaker 3: So I have to concede that direct competition has an
- 58:52Speaker 3: element that competing against oneself doesn't offer.
- 58:57Speaker 1: You have one that you would put first or wasn't
- 58:59Speaker 1: on that list. No, I'm pretty the list is pretty
- 59:04Speaker 1: good to me.
- 59:04Speaker 11: I'm not surprised that, Mike Jordan, No, he.
- 59:11Speaker 1: It's twenty first century. I mean, but so basically in
- 59:14Speaker 1: the last twenty four years and the best athlete.
- 59:20Speaker 11: You said, no, I was just saying that I would
- 59:22Speaker 11: have thought Michael Phelps just because of him being an Olympian.
- 59:26Speaker 11: How we've always looked at our Olympians in the past,
- 59:29Speaker 11: from Jesse Owens to uh Bruce Jenner just you know,
- 59:33Speaker 11: they've always been put on as Olympians have been put
- 59:36Speaker 11: on a pedestal in the past. And I know the
- 59:38Speaker 11: Olympics is not like like when we were growing up,
- 59:40Speaker 11: the Olympics was like that was those every four years.
- 59:45Speaker 11: You couldn't wait because those people are really training for
- 59:47Speaker 11: those years to just for that one time, that moment
- 59:50Speaker 11: to shine, and then for him to do it for
- 59:53Speaker 11: a couple of years, he's done.
- 59:54Speaker 1: So I don't have a problem with Michael Phelps being
- 59:56Speaker 1: the number one. Okay, Well, I know know that my
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: veelts had a couple of races and these people was
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: playing year in and year out.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Yeah, in twenty years, and you move different at thirty
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: two than you did it twenty two, so that that
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: longevity has to be considered.
- 1:00:17Speaker 11: I mean, and there's seasons. Everybody seasons is what six
- 1:00:20Speaker 11: months or less. I mean as far as other people
- 1:00:22Speaker 11: that's on here, but you got but you got to
- 1:00:25Speaker 11: put into training. That's that's why I say that anybody
- 1:00:27Speaker 11: like Michael Phelps or small Biles in them they might
- 1:00:31Speaker 11: we might not see them, but they got to put
- 1:00:34Speaker 11: in that training and to be able to stay number
- 1:00:37Speaker 11: one and to compete to be on that level. That's
- 1:00:40Speaker 11: even harder than me because you don't really you do
- 1:00:42Speaker 11: these in between things. But because he is swimming in
- 1:00:45Speaker 11: between times, there are track meets and there's different events
- 1:00:48Speaker 11: going on.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Well, I want to I got a football in the back.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: What I want you to do is I'm gonna let
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: you drop back and I'm gonna jump on you sixty
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: times and today and then you tell me about how
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: swimming it is harder. That's the foundation that they stand
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: on is is have to do it. Every day. I'm swimming.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I'm in the pool nine hours a day, seven days
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: a week. Yeah, let me jump on your back. Let
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: mean just for two hours, just see how that feel.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: We'll be back more to sports Shock show it after this,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: explain what's going on. It's time, it's in and let's
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: doing and handle.
- 1:01:23Speaker 12: It's my train doing the more snapping up and this
- 1:01:26Speaker 12: stitch you know what I'm saying, So they gets you about.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: To get out of my path.
- 1:01:29Speaker 13: I don't go Awayne Poor of the Sports John Show
- 1:01:33Speaker 13: with Wayne Dandy is coming up next.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: Hear that.
- 1:01:40Speaker 25: That's the sound of your life, perfectly imperfect, beating in
- 1:01:47Speaker 25: rhythm to the world you've created. But every time you
- 1:01:51Speaker 25: drive after drinking, music gets drowned out. Your life sounds
- 1:01:59Speaker 25: pretty great. Don't let a buzz ruin it. Buzz driving
- 1:02:02Speaker 25: is drunk driving. Don't drive buzzed. A message from N's
- 1:02:05Speaker 25: in the AD Council.
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: My simple solution to the problem was remove people from
- 1:02:10Speaker 6: the scene and help them feel safer.
- 1:02:13Speaker 7: In response to attacks against Asian Americans, Maddie Park raised
- 1:02:17Speaker 7: over two hundred and fifty thousand dollars to donate camp
- 1:02:20Speaker 7: rights to the Asian community.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: There is so much more work to be done.
- 1:02:23Speaker 22: We really need to come together and tackle this issue
- 1:02:27Speaker 22: as a community.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Support the Asian community.
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: Learn how at Love has No Labels dot com brought
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: to you by Love has No Labels and the AD Council.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Enough enough, why so serious? And we hold the world
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: ransom for Wayne? Excuse me while I whip this out.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: Sure broadcasting live and it led to a jack this
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: this is the sports jock Ship with Wayne Dandy.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: You vega kill me up? Can you put me down?
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Against you want clank me down? Do come to Flow,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: come to Cocket, come to market?
- 1:03:09Speaker 10: Is it just.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: I'ma do it again. I'm gonna go on the way,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Vegan way right to the show. I'm this w shop
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Wayne Candy, Good morning to you as we ride into
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Olympic opening ceremony. As we talked about the flag bears
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: this year for the US team will be Lebron, James
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Coco Golf. The network doing a great job of trying
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: to create storylines to draw people in. I don't you
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: know with the addition of uh people like Snoop Dogg.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: I was gonna say they got Snooping there, they got
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: other people I think Terry Crew, they're bringing a little
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Hollywood to mix in with their reporters to try to
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: I don't I think they realize that if they just
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: try to sell the competition, it's not It's not gonna
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: sell just by its own merit anymore. And you see where.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: Snoop is running the last leg or next to the
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: last leg in France to bring the torch in.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Yeah. They said that he's going to be doing that.
- 1:04:17Speaker 11: Yeah, And I thought, I mean, you would think that
- 1:04:20Speaker 11: someone of the France of that would be in that close,
- 1:04:24Speaker 11: they would be it because here in America, whenever it
- 1:04:28Speaker 11: was ran here and whenever the too few times in America,
- 1:04:31Speaker 11: they always had some American athlete or someone of entertainment
- 1:04:37Speaker 11: the dual parts of the running, which but I just
- 1:04:40Speaker 11: it was I just didn't understand where it was like
- 1:04:43Speaker 11: on the final leg. Maybe if Snoop would ran some
- 1:04:46Speaker 11: while back, but he's like on the final leg before
- 1:04:48Speaker 11: it gets to the stadium.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: Well, I think that what happens a lot of what
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: we're seeing now in the coverage of sports is sports
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: having been painted into a corner by the media, portraying
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: it as this entertainment spectacle that is going to hold
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: the entire family, no matter the generation glued to their TV.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: That used to matter when Russia was playing the United
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: States and ice hockey or Carl Lewis was trying to
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: be the fastest man in the world. But now there's
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: so much, we're inundated with so much that I gotta
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: bring somebody that these kids know into this process, and
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: I got to bring them in at a critical moment
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: because that's when the ratings matter, that last thiose, final
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: little stretched it matters before they light that torch. That's
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: when we need the ratings. And nobody's going to tune
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: in to watch Carl Lewis bring it in because we
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: don't know him, We don't care about that. Nobody knows
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: or cares about Mary lou Rettin who. So we've got
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: to give you some We've got to give you some
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: whistles just to get you to tune in. This is
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: business now.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: The strategy of business. Yes, and this is all the
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: strategy of business. You've got to break that old model
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: for how the competition with the Internet, social media and
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: all that, and these TV networks fighting and clawing for everything.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: It's becoming a mixture. It's everyone watching it. Why would
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: I watch ceremony? I could watch baseball promote Taylor Swift.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: They saw how impactful that is. They see how impactful
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: the NBA is always pointing out any kind of notable person.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: They're making sure their announcers know. Even on the high
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: school level, our sideline reporter always if someone shows up
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: or you know, a fellow alumni here in Georgia and
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: letting us know who's on the sideline. We're at a
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: game that somebody runs up. Hey, Cam Newton is down there,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Quavo is at this game, or whoever, Trevor Lawrence is
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: at this game at any point that they show up,
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: so we can plug that in. That's all part of
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: it to be able to package it. And you need
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: to be watching this game. If Trevor Lawrence is going in,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: it's come from Jacksonville to Cartersville, right, Why aren't you
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: watching the game?
- 1:07:31Speaker 28: Uh?
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: One of our online listeners, Chris Michael, says, Snoop Dogg
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: bringing in the torch.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Bring this torching. Smoking is very popular all over the world.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: So you know that's what I'm saying. You got the
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: Parisians over there with well, Snoop's already here. Might as
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: well excuse miss Snoopy Dog. Would you be interested pers
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: say in torching? Go ahead?
- 1:08:00Speaker 9: Well, having some kind of connection to the Olympics, isn't
- 1:08:05Speaker 9: That's way down the list because looking at who's part
- 1:08:08Speaker 9: of the coverage, at least they the US coverage. Okay,
- 1:08:11Speaker 9: there's Michael Phelps, but then it's Kelly Clarkson, Snoop Dogg,
- 1:08:16Speaker 9: Jimmy Fallon, Peyton Manning, Leslie Jones. They ain't put they
- 1:08:21Speaker 9: ain't in no Olympics.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: Yeah, they're bringing in all the all those people have
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: some kind of show.
- 1:08:29Speaker 28: Yeah.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: And they're good at keeping stretching and there's a highlight
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: filling time.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: They're great with Kevin Hart and Keenan Thompson. So it's
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: a comedic yeah. Yeah. And then and they're in the
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: business of television production. Yes. The byproduct of that will
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: be we're gonna stop here for the one hundred million dads. Yes,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: then we're gonna get back to the regular schedule program.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: We're gonna that's how it's gonna actually seem. And you're
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: comfortable with that.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: Quick makeup chain's wardrobe change, freshen up, get right back out.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: Kobe Bryant, a locker from Staple Arena is going up
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: for auction. Command you Greg you say, some say it
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: may fetch up to a million. Yes. Is there anything
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: in the locker? It was just the wood. Locker is
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: just the locker itself. There's no jock scrab you know,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: old Kobe Jersey, just just a locker. I think that's
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: about it. Okay, okay, a million dollars. So I wonder
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: where you put that in your house. I was gonna
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: ask that too, but then I thought, surely do you
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: use it? Do you like put it in your house?
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: I know some people have that wet area when you
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: come off the garage mud room, mudroom? Do you put
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: it right there? Really? Well, I'm saying what I'm saying
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: now that seems that seems a little bit disrespect about
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: the midday out of the door.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: I'm gonna put my shoes on. Hold, I'm sitting in
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: the locker room. I got I'm going out and getting ready.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: If I went to come into my mud room and
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: see the mama's locker air.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: With my wife's shoes in.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: It, you see what I'm saying. With my mama's slipped
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: we all got what you're doing with. We all got
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: mamba mentality. Mama rainbows got mama mentality on the house. Yes,
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: once she hit the streets, she got to have the
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: mamba mentality. No, you're gonna have to take them rainbowts
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: out of the mama's locker. Mama, you put it that sports.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out and because I'm thinking in
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: the general household structure. Not looking in I'm not looking
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: at some kind of that you designed for it.
- 1:10:49Speaker 6: I have.
- 1:10:49Speaker 13: I have a.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Trophy room where I keep all of my big purchases
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: like this. Yeah, Well, with the typical person in the
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: average house, stick of locker by the front in the
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: basement that costs a million dollars and a million dollars looking.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: At the locker, it's got a little it's got his
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: name played on it. It has a combination or a
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: key lock, and the boxes.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: I don't I don't know. I don't know if that
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: would be something that would be practical enough, even as
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: a fan to want to own. Gotcha. Lawrence Taylor arrested
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: last week again Lawrence Taylors. Now does this get him
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: disqualified from the Hall of Fame? What was he arrested for? Uh,
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: he's a registered sex offender and I'm thinking he must
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: have moved and didn't register, or he was supposed to
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: register before he moved. Whatever, he violated the registered sex
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: offender law. From what I read, I was joking with
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: how they treated OJ and his like, well, how how
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: much of your life it's supposed to determine what you
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: did as an athlete, because that's how it seems that
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: OJ got weighed more for his his off the field,
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: when none of the things that OJ did for the
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: public did he do wrong As a.
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: Time, And now I'm with this situation, it seems unfortunate
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: to me that Lawrence Taylor is Lawrence Taylor because a
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: lot of people move without registering, but they're not famous.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: So when the name comes across the screen, it's a
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: we'll catch him up when we catch him type thing.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: But you see Lawrence Taylor and automatically, let's go get LT.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: We know where to find him. So, but the letter
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: of the law is the letter of the.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Law, you know what I mean.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: I'm not saying that it's always something that's convenient or
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: even a comfortable, but if he's supposed to register, you.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Got to register.
- 1:13:05Speaker 9: If he was, I guess if he wasn't, as far
- 1:13:08Speaker 9: as him being disqualified from the Hall of Fame, if
- 1:13:12Speaker 9: he wasn't disqualified when he had to register in the
- 1:13:15Speaker 9: first place, and it's not gonna happen.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but he had the same problem in twenty twenty one.
- 1:13:21Speaker 11: If you did at some point, we have to think
- 1:13:24Speaker 11: they approached you about it, and they didn't arrest you,
- 1:13:26Speaker 11: and they slaps you on your hand in twenty twenty one.
- 1:13:29Speaker 11: Now you do it again, you try to owe it's
- 1:13:31Speaker 11: a mistake. I didn't remember at some point in time.
- 1:13:33Speaker 11: You know, you're a registered sex offender. You know when
- 1:13:36Speaker 11: you're moving, you gotta do what you gotta do. But
- 1:13:38Speaker 11: that's this life. Were talking about the Hall of Fame. No,
- 1:13:40Speaker 11: But what I'm saying is no, No. All I'm saying
- 1:13:44Speaker 11: is the fact that I love Lawrence Taylor to death.
- 1:13:46Speaker 11: He's probably one of the best football players to play
- 1:13:48Speaker 11: defense ever. But as far as this right here, he
- 1:13:53Speaker 11: just was got in the same situation since twenty twenty one.
- 1:13:58Speaker 11: They just hit him up for the same thing. They
- 1:13:59Speaker 11: didn't arrestim, they didn't put him out there. They let
- 1:14:01Speaker 11: him like, hey, Lawrence, we're gonna let you slide this time.
- 1:14:04Speaker 11: But apparently this time it was like, dude, okay, well
- 1:14:08Speaker 11: we keep slapping you on the hand, and you know
- 1:14:11Speaker 11: you're supposed to rest.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: Who was before we go to great break, who was
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: greater than Lawrence Taylor, oh Man, because you said he
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: might be defense. Who was better at their position than
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Lawrence Taylor was at his position? Bruce Smith at defensive end.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: You're talking about what was the question? Yeah you don't.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: You must not really know what football we'll be back
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: or what right after this?
- 1:14:41Speaker 12: I know he was outside, y'all. I try to get
- 1:14:45Speaker 12: it how I live it. A lot of people counting
- 1:14:47Speaker 12: on me, kind of like a dig. It's a cool world.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: I'm not like it is it? It's no time for
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: coming up shorter than.
- 1:14:53Speaker 13: The shop, John Boy, Wayne Bard of The Sports John
- 1:14:57Speaker 13: Show with Wayne Dandy, Yes.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: Coming up next.
- 1:15:00Speaker 31: In sitcoms, when someone has a problem, they just blurt
- 1:15:03Speaker 31: it out and move on.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: Well, I lost my job and my parakeet is missing.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: How is your day?
- 1:15:11Speaker 31: But the real world is different. Managing life's challenges can
- 1:15:14Speaker 31: be overwhelming.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: So what do we do? We get support?
- 1:15:17Speaker 31: The Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the AD Council have

- 1:16:05Speaker 32: athletic events. Some fan seem angry, they lack civility toward

- 1:16:18Speaker 1: This has to stop.

- 1:16:55Speaker 18: Directors Association.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: And now back to the sports. John Wayne Gay, Welcome
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: back to your sports shock show. A couple of birthdays
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: here going into the weekend. Matt LeBlanc famously from Friends,
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: fifty seven years of age, Rice Young. I haven't heard
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: much about Bryce going into his second year big season,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: expected a lot of growth. We're looking forward with Bryce
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: Young of the Carolina Panthers, age twenty three years old.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Alvin Camara are he still in New Orleans? Got twenty
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: nine years old? John Robinson, the great USC coach won
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: a national title with them and seventy eight eighty nine.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: John Rosson is eighty nine years old. Triple H Hunter
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: hearst Hemsley Hunter. Yeah, he said in Triple H's name
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: is fifty five years old winning.

- 1:21:35Speaker 1: start next week we're talking out. They added break dancing too,
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: So it's so many sports you're not even going to
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: get to watch. What you think eighty percent of the
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: things that's going on in the Olympics, you're not going
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: to get to watch, or they put them on peacock ame.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: So you got to get an account because the Olympics
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: typically is heavy pool, heavy gymnastics, heavy track and field,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: and heavy like basketball, water. You don't get around. They
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: show you like a glimpse of the table tennis, and

- 1:23:28Speaker 1: I'm saying, are we going to the Olympics? We got
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: who's sponsored? See, I start wondering, how can we get
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: in on this?
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: If y'all took the Olympics, you got break dancing and
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: those energy drinks, all the energy the same.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: People that would be sponsoring the X Game kind of
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: athlete are there? Are there hip hop d j's and
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: yeah that wondering what music are you gonna get to
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: use your choice? Or they gonna bring some of that?
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: We the best you know gonna be over there d j.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: That's the thing they don't have that deep Beijing.
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: Yeah, we break dancing is a byproduct of the hip
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: hop movement, So you're going to have to incorporate all
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: of that.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: The graffiti, so sure, I just want to make sure
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: I raise a hand while we go to y'all didn't
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: like that perfect beat? I don't I like I like
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: purflect beat. Looking at people looking for the perfect beat party,

- 1:27:42Speaker 1: Make you do what, double take Wait, make you Sportshop
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: Shop The sports Shock Wing can d d N B
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: A has decided to go with Prime Amazon offer. They
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: are leaving t N t UH switching over to Amazon
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: Prime a very next year twenty twenty five and beyond
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: uh saying one of brother Brothers. Discovery bit simply was
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: not up to par. So they're gonna take their show
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: on the road to Amazon, and you should start saving
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: a couple of nickels because they're probably on Amazon. You're
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: gonna go on there. They have one on there for free,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: and then the rest they're gonna be trying to charge.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: You don't think it's just gonna be. That's just gonna
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: be the first year. Remember all the games for free.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: Remember remember when like what tn T would have three
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: four games in the night.
- 1:28:42Speaker 9: Yeah, and then inside the NBA after that, it's after
- 1:28:46Speaker 9: stay in the morning.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: And now now it's gonna be uh going to Amazon
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: and getting the message not connected wi Fi out, my
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: WiFi out.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: They're also in this part of this Amazon Prime Video
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: and NBC, so NBC will be getting back some of
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: the NBA games this season as well. So we will
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: see if Ernie Johnson shaq. I know we talked about
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: Charles Barkley saying he's just gonna kind of retire, and
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: Kenny the Jet Smith. I don't know if any of
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: those people with that group will be headed over to Amazon.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: I think Ernie said he's he's staying with Turner. Okay,
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: I know ern Ernie stepped away from his baseball com
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: and Terry here over the last couple of days. I
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: don't know if he's been ill or something like that,
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: but I know we stepped away from that gig over
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: the last couple of days. But that's where the NBA
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: will be. The w NBA also struck a deal for
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: their media rights. Do we know where they are? Are
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: they prime to? I don't think two hundred million, two
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: hundred and twelve million was that normal? It was two
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: point two billion two point two Oh okay, yeah, I
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: did see something that said two hundred million. I say
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: two two hundred twelve. They be on Disney so ESPN.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: I thought it was and twelve. I didn't know it
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: was a billion. Be sure it's not a two point
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: two billion? Yeah, because now which one is that one?
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: Is that over over like a ten eleven year period?
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: What they were making? It's an eleven year deal? Okay,
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: So it was two hundred million then, and they're I
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: was talking about the total? Yeah, I think yeah, But
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: but how they broke it down.
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: They was like they're gonna get two hundred million to
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: twelve per year or something to that point.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: But yeh, but that's it's still you know, numbers and
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: they're expanding to fourteen teams next year, year, two years.
- 1:30:51Speaker 11: I know Charlotte's putting a big run. They're trying to
- 1:30:53Speaker 11: push hard for a team in Toronto and it was
- 1:30:58Speaker 11: a San Francisco team. Yeah yeah, wherever yep.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: So both of those networks, NBA will be on Prime
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: and WNBA, well, NBA will be on Prime and NBC.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: Now one thing, WNBA will be on Prime in NBC
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: and ESPN.
- 1:31:18Speaker 11: And but the thing about it, why would you want
- 1:31:21Speaker 11: to send those ladies to Prime when you know I
- 1:31:23Speaker 11: would want to try to keep them in the ESPN
- 1:31:26Speaker 11: that market because it's like you said, who's gonna pay.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: Now to grow the market a little more? Is what
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: you're saying? Yeah, I mean they're a little more accessible.
- 1:31:35Speaker 11: Yeah, accessible, because you notice boxing has came Boxing is
- 1:31:40Speaker 11: not it's free even he was paying seventy five dollars
- 1:31:45Speaker 11: about ten years ago, but now the title matches ESBN
- 1:31:50Speaker 11: regular TV regular HBO free again.
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: Remember you only had to have HBO in the past
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: to watch boxing, but now then they it's not free
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: because you're paying for k Well and I wonder. I
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: want to apologize, but it wouldn't pay paper view.
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: If you're pulling it off of t N T, if
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: you're pulling it off of a network of the ESPN
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: or w G and whatever that it's on.
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: What's gonna replace it?
- 1:32:16Speaker 10: Now?
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: What are we gonna find? The pickle? I don't know?
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: Corn hole? Cor hey that corn hold way? Look? Oh yes, right,
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: it's Tuesday. Let's get some corn Hey, you can want
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: some money in that corn hole. I'm just I'm gonna
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: have to go. It's like pitching horseshoes, man, that's all.
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: I tried to watch. It puts asleep, So if you
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: ever wanted to get a good sleep, that's the way
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: to go. I used to take a different.
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: Direction when it comes to not and off. I used
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: to go a different direction. But pickleball is on the
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: list options sound.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: Troy Aikman has offered to sit out with Lamar Jackson
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: to settle their legal dispute. Last week, Troy Aikman was
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: tap to try to trademark the number eight, famously as
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: Troy Aikman with the Cadallas Cowboy. He's in Lamar Jackson
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: being a smart man that he is jumped then like,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: hold on, now I'm number eight as well, right, so
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: it looks like they might sit down and try to
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: collaborate on a number on this number.
- 1:33:42Speaker 11: Well, I guess he feels like he's forty two, you know,
- 1:33:44Speaker 11: like they did Jackie's number.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: He's America's team. What do you mean? Well, I mean
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: you did what you can't make?
- 1:33:54Speaker 11: Forty two is a number that major League Baseball isn't
- 1:33:56Speaker 11: it capped off or you can't use it?
- 1:33:59Speaker 9: So just that number that but that's not the same
- 1:34:02Speaker 9: thing here, That's just a number that's just been retired.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: Yeah, So what Troy is exactly trying to do with
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: the eight?
- 1:34:07Speaker 9: Did He's trying to well to use the not the number,
- 1:34:12Speaker 9: but the spelling E I G H t okay okay.
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: On his apparel bags. He's trying to come out with
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: a line. And that's what Lamar Jackson is polled. Did
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: you just use the number the eight and then he
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: just used the E I G. A C later on?
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: I don't think that something else it eight and have
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: another word? Yeah, he's gonna It's funny that Troy didn't
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: come up with this before. It's been a long time.
- 1:34:46Speaker 15: Long time.
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: Somebody come to him and told him, probably said something
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: about lord, you know if lamar Win one.
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: Because Troy been retired years and so he's just now
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: trying to get in on this trade mark in the
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: number eighty. No cowboy Frians know how long joy they
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: well they should. That was the last prominent quarterback they've
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: had up until dak Tony Romo. They've had some main stays.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: That's my quarterback. Don't talk about Tony. So but we
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: will see how this goes. Maybe they will, Yeah, hopefully
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: they can work something out, you know, figure it out together.
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: Nick Saban, The Nick Saban Field will be dedicated this
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: year down in Tuscaloosa. It will be like a lot
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: of stadiums as you know, it will be Bryant Denny
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: Stadium at Nick Saban Field, and you have a lot
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: of because to me, that's always been the way to go.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: It would be wrong to take Bryant Denny off the
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: stadium and call it the Knixt State Stadium Saban Stadium.
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: So teams and organizations are learning you can use the field,
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: you can lose the bleachers, you can use the Hall
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: of Fame room, try other places.
- 1:36:11Speaker 11: Or incorporate the name like they did Hartsville Jackson. I
- 1:36:15Speaker 11: mean that could be a thing you'd like, you said,
- 1:36:16Speaker 11: you don't want to see him remove the name that.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: Was there prior. But so you want to call it
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: the Dean Dome. What No, it's called the Dean E.
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: Smith Center, but we would call it the Smith's, the
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: Smith and Jordan Center, the new one.
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: That they're gonna build.
- 1:36:34Speaker 10: It.
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: Mm, that don't have a good ring. Jordan and Smith.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: It sound like a law firm. Great m mm hmmm.
- 1:36:44Speaker 9: I think it's just gonna be the Dean Smith Center
- 1:36:48Speaker 9: and the Jordan logos already on all the jerseys.
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: But it's Roy Williams Court, that's all. It's already Roy
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: Williams Court.
- 1:37:01Speaker 9: It's it's already a little awkward to me to have
- 1:37:03Speaker 9: it Saving Field and he already got a name Bryant
- 1:37:05Speaker 9: Thanny State.
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: Like sometimes it can. It just needs to be one
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: or two Jordan Jordan Harefield. It's Jordan Hare Stadium and
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: Pat Dye Field. It's how that's that's as far as
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: it needs to. It doesn't that we don't have to
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: add any more names. I was going to ask, what
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: about the next great coach? Would you put him statue
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: I'm saying, can we get that. You know they already
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: got statues. Well, I'm saying practice facility, practice campus. Those
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: are usually donators. Those are people who the big alumni,
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: so save that. Not everybody gets. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: Come on, man, look you get the workout room, coach,
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: you get the where we feed them, you get the
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: cafeteria stuff.
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: But that's not your area of greatness. But but but
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: when the football players walk in there, they'll say, hey,
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: this so so.
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: Eventually, if it eventually on down the line, by the
- 1:38:05Speaker 3: time we have by the time the Olympics get to
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: Utah again, we could have the Dandy Tweitty Johnson Comanche
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: Stadium at Sports Jack Comedy Golf DJ Field.
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: Well, it's Joe Stangry Stadium at Wayne Gandy Field. No,
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: it's just just you have to figure out where you're
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: gonna put Derwin James. So you can call it the
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: Durham James track on the dur James press box. Wayne,
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: he wouldn't the Joe that's or that's gonna go to
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: someone who donated a lot of money, typically alumni.
- 1:38:56Speaker 3: So it couldn't be the Joe Stangy Stadium. Him Joe
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: Stang Grey Stadium and Wayne Gandy Field, where Derwin James
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: used to play.
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: Got to give said, if he ends up where he
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: should end up, you got at some point figure out
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: something out there. We interviewed him on.
- 1:39:32Speaker 11: Your show. Derwin used to play here. We'll talk for
- 1:39:36Speaker 11: there was a thing I forgot who it was. I'm
- 1:39:38Speaker 11: gonna find it.
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: He said. The best football players in Florida come out
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: of Polk County. So you you Derwin ray Lewis, That's
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: what I mean, That's what that was.
- 1:39:51Speaker 12: Saying.
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: Man, I'm telling you I'm supposed to reach for the sky.
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: Never let somebody try to tell you what the why?
- 1:40:06Speaker 13: Don't go away or of the Sports Josh Show with
- 1:40:08Speaker 13: Wayne Danfidias coming up.
- 1:40:10Speaker 26: Mats, are you prepared for an emergency or disaster, because
- 1:40:15Speaker 26: it's not a matter of if, but when. Don't find
- 1:40:18Speaker 26: yourself saying.
- 1:40:19Speaker 15: When the storm rolls in, my time to find a
- 1:40:22Speaker 15: pet friendly evacuation center will have run out the scorching
- 1:40:26Speaker 15: heat way.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: Believe me, paralys to cool my insulin. I'll face a
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: hurricane without mets. Now that's a tough pill to swallow.
- 1:40:33Speaker 26: Let's prepare so we all have a better story to tell.
- 1:40:36Speaker 26: Get started at Ready dot gov. Slash Older Adults brought
- 1:40:39Speaker 26: to you by FEMA and the AD Council.

- 1:40:44Speaker 33: aisle or forget extra diapers. You'd never lick your thumb
- 1:40:49Speaker 33: to clean their face, never ever become a minivan mom.
- 1:40:54Speaker 33: So when you say you'd never leave your child in
- 1:40:56Speaker 33: a hot car, no, it can happen. Get hot fast.
- 1:41:01Speaker 33: The kids can be at risk in temperatures as low
- 1:41:03Speaker 33: as sixty degrees fairheight. Never happens before you leave the car.
- 1:41:07Speaker 33: Always stop, look lock. Brought to you by NITZA and
- 1:41:11Speaker 33: the AD Council.
- 1:41:11Speaker 4: Hi, I'm Smoky Bear and I made an assistant to

- 1:41:17Speaker 24: Hey, assistant, Smoky Bear, call me Papa Bear because I'm
- 1:41:21Speaker 24: girlailing up dinner.

- 1:41:26Speaker 1: I do with all these coals?
- 1:41:27Speaker 24: Don't just toss them out?
- 1:41:28Speaker 33: Put them in a metal container because those embers can
- 1:41:30Speaker 33: start a wildfire.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: I understand the steaks are high.
- 1:41:35Speaker 10: Ha ha ha ha.
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: Learn more at smokey bear dot com.
- 1:41:38Speaker 21: Brought to you by the US for Service your state
- 1:41:40Speaker 21: Foster and the ad Council.
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: And now back to the sports job Wayne Anty. It's
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: waiting lock on so you can see sports chaint. I'll
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: sing even what makes it the swortstock chop the sports
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: shocks wing can d Good morning to you out there.
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: Comanchi Gregg says that they had the Arena Ball Bowl Championship.
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: The Arena Ball Bowl played in a mall.
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: Say that ten times fast Rina balla babblena ble.
- 1:42:44Speaker 9: Es the uh the Arena Bowl, the Arena League which
- 1:42:47Speaker 9: is still I didn't know they even played this year.
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: The Renal League had their championship game basically, yes, in
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: a mall. In the mall.
- 1:42:55Speaker 9: Okay, it was in New Jersey, Z. That makes the
- 1:43:03Speaker 9: American Dream Center, which is a mall that that makes
- 1:43:07Speaker 9: so much sense.
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: Maybe they're trying to repurpose it to some kind of
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: you know a.
- 1:43:12Speaker 23: Lot of the mall.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, I was going to say there's a landscape.
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: They're trying to come up with different ways and theme
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: parks and to keep.
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: Those structures in operation because a lot of shopping has
- 1:43:28Speaker 3: left the malls because of online shopping in the big
- 1:43:31Speaker 3: box retailers.
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: So malls are trying to do anything. A lot of
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: them are becoming either like hotels or because you know,
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: the building is already there, like all the zoning and
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: all the plumbing, so you can kind of just shape
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: it to what it what you can. Because you said
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: even in Arizona, yeah, they closed they was closing some
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: of the pickleball Yeah, Pickle Mall, Yeah, they closed it
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: because they said it wasn't lack of interest. They said
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: that the mall they were located in would not renewed
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: their lease. So they probably just have added a stadium
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: in that mall area that's big enough to host things
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: like arena games. Some put some of those fold that's
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: big competition. That's why a lot of the owners and
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: colleges when they build the arena, they're building multi purpose
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: arenas now because that's big competition of hosting entertaining shows.
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: Everybody's trying to grab that artist to come. And I
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: remember a couple of years ago, even with something like
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: Atlanta keeps on a casino with some of the some
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: of the people that's against it are those places like
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: the Fox Theater right right in the Roxy right right
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: because there right there, and that that's direct tissue with
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: exactly that's that direct company, that direct competition.
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: If Prince want to come to an unplugged concert in Atlanta,
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: he coming to the Fox because there's no other place
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: to go. But you put the hard rock theater over there.
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: And now there's a question and and you notice you
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: see how and.
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: You know they're gonna undercut you the big They just
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: really want to get the people over there the game gamble.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: We just don't really care about that ticket for the well,
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: that's what you said that. Listen, I tell you what
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: we'll do the next thing. You know, so what we'll do.
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: It's Eddie Murphy, it's Steve Martin. Five dollars tickets but free.
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: Do you notice how the.
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: People at the Fox like that's ilegal, that's a legal.
- 1:45:55Speaker 11: Now you can't do that, but at the Hawks and
- 1:45:57Speaker 11: the Fire because they do have that Cherokee Heralds section
- 1:46:01Speaker 11: and everything. And now you got the new casino which
- 1:46:04Speaker 11: is barely across the line in South Carolina. So you
- 1:46:07Speaker 11: got two casinos that are it's gonna be tough. Now
- 1:46:10Speaker 11: if because you know it's still gonna.
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: Be tough, the only thing it will be tough. Get
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: one here, no, no, listen, listen to the world busiest
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: at the at the basement of the Bens. Yes, can
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: you imagine the world and hard Rock Hotel right there.
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: I think they're just holding the spot it passes, you
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: know how at the world's busiest airport they've been doing
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: all the construction. Actually that's been for a tunnel that
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: leads straight from the hard Rock to the airport. If
- 1:46:43Speaker 3: they have a chance, they come in in.
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: My truest belief is that they ever passed the law
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: the casinos to be built. That area that's the home depot,
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: the backyard, backyard will be the hard Razors Palace or
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: something right there. I believe that's so that's cut out
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: so perfectly to drop one of those big don't they
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: have the hotel coming there? The hotel is right, the
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: hotel is already. We need to reverbers right, everybody, everybody.
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: They got a new new one, a.
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: New Hilton, like it's five hundred dollars a night, sinking
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: to a thousand that just already or as we call it,
- 1:47:25Speaker 3: our high rollers suite. But I'm saying, though, I mean,
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: y'all really, y'all really think that they can really gonna
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: get a casino here in the in George. Why wouldn't they,
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: But I mean they've been trying for they would have
- 1:47:39Speaker 3: had one by now, we would. I mean with all
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: the everything, listen only what's holding it back? Then the
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: lottery because that's direct competition. But I don't have anywhere else.
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: I don't have anywhere else to gamble my money, So
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: I'm gonna get my scratch off something.
- 1:47:54Speaker 11: Have you got any people in the convenience stores. Those
- 1:47:59Speaker 11: people are hitting those little machines in it, and they're
- 1:48:01Speaker 11: doing it looking over their shoulders. They're not impacting the
- 1:48:05Speaker 11: lotteries amount of money that they're making. But when I
- 1:48:09Speaker 11: can come in as the hard rock and drop a
- 1:48:12Speaker 11: casino where you can hit machines and slots and play
- 1:48:17Speaker 11: craps and cards and then get a pick three and
- 1:48:20Speaker 11: play some numbers, that's going to interfere with my home
- 1:48:24Speaker 11: scholarship money. So I need to keep that out as
- 1:48:27Speaker 11: long as I can.
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: It's it's it's being backdoored in through our telephones and
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: our laptops.
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: Even and even simple things is getting the other surrounding
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: area under one roof. That's why when you go down
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: there to the Bends, those neighborhoods are starting to come
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: underneath a certain zoning. Yes, that you'll find. That's because
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: that's why I have to use when I bring a casino,
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: other stuff comes with casino, So I'll turn that whole
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: area into the buying city district. Yeah, it's the red
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: lights because you know from travel, I gotta get the
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: people to be able to walk on the walkways, get
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: the infrastructure in before I bring that in.
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: But can I go to the next zoning meeting you
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: go to? But that because that's sound too like you
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: sitting up in there, you know what I mean. That's
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: I ain't never thought of it like that though.
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: The zoning part more and more like you said, the
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: park gets into Florida has casinos. Yeah, Mississippi has casinos,
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: just Carolina have So it's just slowly gonna fall here. Yeah,
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: but right now we got to figure out because we've
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: already got traffic problems. So you got to figure out
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: all that before you drop a casino downtown. We'll be
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: back more to the Sports Jock Show right after.
- 1:49:56Speaker 13: This Don't Go Away, or of the Sports joh Show
- 1:50:14Speaker 13: with Wayne Dan Vidia's dumbing up nast.
- 1:50:19Speaker 34: It's four am Monday, and you're literally sucking baby snot
- 1:50:24Speaker 34: through a tube because she's congested. Man, that's love, and
- 1:50:28Speaker 34: if you love her that much, love her enough to
- 1:50:30Speaker 34: make sure she's buckled in the right car seat. To

- 1:50:45Speaker 34: the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the ad Council.
- 1:50:48Speaker 6: When I first had my baby, i'd get comments all
- 1:50:51Speaker 6: the time about how happy MSB. I remember thinking, I
- 1:50:54Speaker 6: want to be happy. Why don't I feel that way?
- 1:50:57Speaker 6: It was hard to admit that even to my doctor.
- 1:51:00Speaker 25: What I did.
- 1:51:00Speaker 6: She told me it was postpartum depression and that is
- 1:51:03Speaker 6: very treatable. These days, things are feeling good and we're
- 1:51:05Speaker 6: both happier about that. Right, little man, I'll.
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: Take that as a yes.
- 1:51:10Speaker 23: Mental health care is working for Simon.

- 1:51:15Speaker 28: A message from the American Psychiatric Association Foundation.
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: Hi, We're the Goo Goo Dolls.
- 1:51:20Speaker 10: We're fortunate that our daughters have what they need to
- 1:51:22Speaker 10: grow and learn, but that isn't the case for nearly
- 1:51:24Speaker 10: thirteen million kids in the US that struggle with hunger.
- 1:51:27Speaker 35: Childhood hunger is a heartbreaking reality that Feeding America is
- 1:51:31Speaker 35: working to change. Each year, the Feeding American network of
- 1:51:33Speaker 35: food banks rescues billions of pounds of good food that
- 1:51:36Speaker 35: would have gone to waste and provides it to families
- 1:51:38Speaker 35: and children in need.
- 1:51:39Speaker 10: You can help kids in need in your community by
- 1:51:41Speaker 10: visiting Feeding America dot org.
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: Brought to you by Feeding America and the AD Council.
- 1:51:50Speaker 27: And now back to the sports Job Wayne Gamdy, It's
- 1:51:57Speaker 27: time go to school more.
- 1:51:58Speaker 30: Can we put a spin on life and sports and
- 1:52:02Speaker 30: how they intermingled on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: Welcome back to this What Shock Show. I'm the Sportshock
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: Wing Candy. Just terrible reporting in the media sometimes, as
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: I said, it seems to be I guess because I
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: grew up where you had all those when you checked
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: out as a grocery store or uh, your convenience store.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: You always used to have those tabloid It was like,
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: this is a tabloid section, but tabloid and news used
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: to be separate. Yes, you can get the National Inquiry,
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: but that had nothing to do with Time, the Time
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: magazine or the New York or Post. Now it's so
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: integrated and I'm just saying from the headline of this
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: Texas football coach marries his stripper girlfriend named Pole Assassin,
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: and haven't we all am I right? Married strip girl?
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: Special teams coordinator for the Texas Longhorn Jeff Blake. Excuse me,
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: Jeff Banks married his fiance. And yes, her name is
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: Danny Thomas. She's better known at her club as Pole
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: Assassin when she I guess she used to dance there.
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: But that's not My issue is how you presented the story,
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: Like I doubt that Coach Banks and his wife needed
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: you to say all that right, Not that they were
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: hiding it or you couldn't google it, but to try
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: to to say it all out like that Texas football
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: coach marriage his stripper girlfriend named pol Assassin. That's intentional
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: to me, trying to yeah, trying to hurt someone or
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: it sounds like you're a Texas A and M fan. Yeah,
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: they must didn't know about this. It's a couple of coaches.
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: I know, that was it. Texas. Don't marry the couple
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: real real, Well, now you're just snitching Kenny to see
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: how I get you, boy, because because I saw something
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: and I wasn't going I didn't say it wasn't who
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: and what your wife or your husband is. I'm saying,
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: the integration of that into the media, it just doesn't
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: sit with me. Well, this is not how the media
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: I think should act. I can tell you that the
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: coach got married, and if you choose to go and yeah,
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: who the coach Mary, and you find that out, that's
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: one thing, and you put it on your Instagram. But
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: I just didn't should that be? Am I Room? What
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: was the paper? From what paper? What journalists like you said?
- 1:55:07Speaker 11: You could be like you said the Texas A and
- 1:55:09Speaker 11: m Aggie alumni bit if we researched her person who
- 1:55:12Speaker 11: wrote the article, they have no ties to Texas.
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: Emily. The story is about Emily select let's google Emily.
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: So just just didn't like how that was.
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: And then they also put out there that his wife
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: monkey bit. Somebody listen, listen. What I'm saying is that
- 1:55:35Speaker 3: that that's a man strip of wife monkey bitter little kid,
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: and that's a story. And I'm saying that I would
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: imagine that be between that woman that the kid and
- 1:55:50Speaker 3: her monkey. They should be working that out, but now
- 1:55:54Speaker 3: we know about it and lead me to the question
- 1:55:57Speaker 3: like where you get a monkey? What's her name again?
- 1:55:58Speaker 3: Emily select select celc CELC. I don't see her.
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: She must to be a plan, as I said, Just
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: interesting of how they would present a story like that,
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: almost like they're trying to hurt the coach assassinator assassinators. Yeah,
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: in a big way. Right there. What else do we
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: have for you today? Big Kenny? Tell you about Nick Saban.
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: My man Willie Anderson, great friend of mine. I recruited
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: Willie to come to Auburn.
- 1:56:33Speaker 6: He did.
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: He went on to have an All Pro career at
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: the Bengals. Willie Anderson up for the Hall of Fame
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: last couple of years. He says he feels like he
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: didn't get in it. He hasn't gotten into it as
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: of yet because of the movie The blind Side. I
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: haven't seen him to talk about this yet with him,
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: but he feels like the movie The blind Side, since
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: he was a right tackle and the movie was about
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: left tackle more important, it made it more important. So
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: he gets skipped over because of that. Now I played
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: left tackle, So how close is this dude, to you,
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: Willie Anderson, as close as I was a senior, he
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: was a freshman at Auburn. We go back.
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: So yeah, we went and watched his son's let's ask
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: him about it.
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: I have to get him on and so so so
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: he trying to angle it out while he hadn't No.
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: Now, now listen, I'm I think it's interesting that we
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: know media influences people's decisions. We know that it can
- 1:57:46Speaker 3: make something a fad, it can make something the hot
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: what it is right now. So there's a ground to
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: stand on when it comes to that. But that would
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: need some quantifyification, Like, all right, the only Hall of
- 1:58:03Speaker 3: Famers that were tackles left tackles, you know, was there
- 1:58:06Speaker 3: a guy in contention and they always get down to
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: the last two and it's always the left tackle that goes.
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: So I would like to see that. Yeah, And this
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: is Emily with the New York Post. Most likely will
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: it's something like you're saying Vic Kenny that he feels
- 1:58:24Speaker 1: like he has the same accolades as guys that play
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: left tackle and he keeps getting skipped over for them. Now,
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: Cindra Butler, me and him will always debate forever you know,
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: because the epitome of an offensive lineman. The best lineman
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: in people's mind is the left tackle. That's where you
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: put your best lineman on any team. That's that's always
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: it really is not even your best lineman, it is
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: your best athletic clneman. A lot of people say the
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: smartest is because I can go see your son play
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: and I'm like, yeah, he playing left tackle in high school,
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: but he's gonna be a right tackle in college because
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: he doesn't have there's a certain athleticism.
- 1:59:15Speaker 3: I remember friend Sterling said that about a friend of ours.
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: He sent him some film and was like, hey, you
- 1:59:21Speaker 3: think he can play college football and he was like, yeah,
- 1:59:23Speaker 3: he can play not here.
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: So Big Will has always who was a great athlete,
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: but he's always in right tackles have always been sensitive.
- 1:59:37Speaker 1: I'm just taking you behind the they've always been sensitive
- 1:59:41Speaker 1: that the left tackle really because people say, oh, I
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: play a line I play, oh, because that stood out
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: right tackle. And I can see why the blind size
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: is hurting. Because what happens is your best athlete say
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: it's your left tackle. And I'm not saying that based
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: on and that's why I played. That's just how it whatever,
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: Then you go to your left guard center. Right tackles
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: typically are the least athletic. They're typically the biggest and
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: the strongest and the meanest. They are the ones that
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: you want to take to the fight. Right left tackle
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: back there with his buffer. Hey, let me get looking
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: because of the blind Side. You know, got me in.
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: Traveling pet and that's what I got on the left.
- 2:00:31Speaker 3: But this morning side, because they say the left.
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: You don't have a little sabby back there, do you? Naturally?
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: Some of the jar stuff tackle your right tackle. He
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: got his tooth brush in his back pocket, you know,
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: were lee jeans jumping on, jumping on people play with him. Hey, hello, man,
- 2:00:53Speaker 1: we're on the same team. Relax. So big Will definitely
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: deserves his Hall of Fame moment. And I can't discredit
- 2:01:02Speaker 1: because we do know. Movies and music and stuff sways
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: people opinion that might not have a deeper understanding. The
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: casual mind can be swayed. And The blind Side was
- 2:01:14Speaker 1: a big movie when you think about it, When you
- 2:01:17Speaker 1: you know, most good football movies is about quarterbacks, running backs,
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: people of an exciting position. Yes, yes, not some big
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: three hundred pounds man. And if the only exposure you
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: have into the heads he ate right, and if the
- 2:01:33Speaker 1: only exposure you have to him is or to that
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: position is that movie, then everything will become about And
- 2:01:40Speaker 1: when you mentioned that position will be about that movie
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: and we.
- 2:01:43Speaker 8: Are in the ocean, the truth is he will throw
- 2:01:49Speaker 8: your to the ocean.
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: It's time to rap things up.
- 2:01:53Speaker 8: On the Sports Judge Show with Wayne, we.
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: Use at an ocean against the sports out testa minute
- 2:02:24Speaker 1: to Vin and we'd like to thank you for tuning
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: in to today's show. If you miss any of the show,
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: the replay will be on iHeart Radio, Deezer, Spotify, Audible,
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: Amazon Podcasts, and Apple podcasts. As we go off the
- 2:02:41Speaker 1: Arabic Kenny Comanchi, Greg Bad producer, thank you for your
- 2:02:45Speaker 1: contributions to today's show. Olympic opening ceremonies tomorrow, so next
- 2:02:52Speaker 1: two or three weeks we get to be entertained on
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: the Olympic stage. One of the participants over in the
- 2:03:00Speaker 1: Olympics is our national hero Britney Griner. Yeah, I remember
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: the whole Russia US thing with Britney Grinder. Well, Brittany
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: is home in Brittany is a new mom, but she
- 2:03:19Speaker 1: wants her newborn son to call her pops. She's a
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: new mom. She wants the new boy to call her pop. Well,
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: newborns basically call you what you sit and tell them
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: to call you when they're learning to speak you, poppy, daddy, mommy,
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: whatever you're sitting there, That's what they'll end up saying.
- 2:03:44Speaker 1: So are you going to tell the new boy to
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: call you pops? Or are you hoping it sees the
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: pop in you? Brittany? Which one are you gonna go with?
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: But I'm not gonna let her get off the hook.
- 2:04:02Speaker 1: Come at you, Greg Wood, I'm paused. You mommy, say
- 2:04:11Speaker 1: what you want to say. I don't care nothing about it.
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: Your sexuality is your sexuality. But don't be trying to
- 2:04:17Speaker 1: diminish me. I'm paused. Yeah, yeah, look at Greg. He
- 2:04:25Speaker 1: don't like that when you take a stand daddy. In
- 2:04:32Speaker 1: the statement, Brittany said, but no, bro, no, bro. So
- 2:04:36Speaker 1: for trying to make it seem like you and me,
- 2:04:39Speaker 1: the saying no, we're not hold on bro, hold on
- 2:04:42Speaker 1: brook Lank. Can we shoot him? Can we shoot you
- 2:04:56Speaker 1: want to shoot him? She's suffering up over it. In
- 2:04:58Speaker 1: that Russian I've been through enough already. That was tough,
- 2:05:02Speaker 1: pretty bad, jail. Yeah, not a good time over there
- 2:05:06Speaker 1: for her. My heart went out for her every day
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: over there. But I can just imagine. But they never
- 2:05:12Speaker 1: came to her with like, excuse me, sir from the
- 2:05:18Speaker 1: sport stout choice me say every Thursday, we'll see you
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: in the future peace.
- 2:05:26Speaker 10: M hmmm
- 2:05:31Speaker 1: Hmm
