- 0:05Speaker 1: So my name is Paul Vera. We'll come back into
- 0:07Speaker 1: tech path. Let's get into it today. I want to
- 0:08Speaker 1: talk about Base quickly. If you look at the total
- 0:11Speaker 1: number of accounts right now on Base, this is continuing
- 0:15Speaker 1: to rise. And look at where the growth has been
- 0:18Speaker 1: throughout twenty twenty four. Obviously we had on chain summer that.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Was part of it.
- 0:22Speaker 1: You also look at the overall transactions daily transactions also
- 0:26Speaker 1: continuing to rise on Base and this is by far,
- 0:30Speaker 1: I think, the most popular chain out there, as well
- 0:33Speaker 1: as most profitable. If you look at both the value
- 0:36Speaker 1: locked as well as just the overall stable coin market
- 0:39Speaker 1: cap and comparison, everything up and trending up with Base.
- 0:43Speaker 1: So a lot moving, I think in the direction around
- 0:45Speaker 1: some of the things that we're going to be talking
- 0:47Speaker 1: about today, and that is, you know, not only the
- 0:49Speaker 1: Avatar technology, but some of the companies that are involved
- 0:51Speaker 1: with this, what this might look like in some other
- 0:55Speaker 1: components of this. Last up here is doing analytics this course,
- 0:59Speaker 1: just showing you as an example right here, October. I
- 1:01Speaker 1: don't know if you guys.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Can see that.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Let me kind of zoom in on that for you
- 1:04Speaker 1: a little bit. Maybe I can't there you go, so
- 1:06Speaker 1: you can see right there as I hover over October
- 1:08Speaker 1: almost one point three million in Base transaction revenue, and
- 1:13Speaker 1: of course you can see the rest right there. So
- 1:16Speaker 1: all of this leaning very positive for what Base is
- 1:19Speaker 1: doing as a network, and I think that is what
- 1:21Speaker 1: we're going to be talking about today. To get out
- 1:24Speaker 1: on some of this, I want to go over also
- 1:26Speaker 1: and get into a little bit more around what's been
- 1:29Speaker 1: happening on Twitter. And this is interesting because there's been
- 1:32Speaker 1: a little bit of a migration, so to speak, moving
- 1:37Speaker 1: away from Twitter. Here's a good example Twitter and next
- 1:40Speaker 1: account the activations. This is after the election, so we
- 1:43Speaker 1: started to see movement.
- 1:45Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Now that's that big red or blue bar right there.
- 1:49Speaker 1: And this is a big scenario because decentralized social and
- 1:53Speaker 1: how we're going to see this technology, especially in Web
- 1:57Speaker 1: three advance to the next level, is going to be
- 1:59Speaker 1: very article and of course BACE is going to be
- 2:01Speaker 1: part of this. I've got a little bit of a
- 2:04Speaker 1: video here that will break it down for you to
- 2:06Speaker 1: kind of show you this migration that is occurring on
- 2:09Speaker 1: social media. Then we'll bring in our guests, so take
- 2:11Speaker 1: a look.
- 2:12Speaker 4: So if y'all don't know the great migration is happening
- 2:14Speaker 4: over at Twitter.
- 2:15Speaker 5: We're moving over the Blue Sky.
- 2:16Speaker 4: I know y'all don't want to get a new app,
- 2:18Speaker 4: but honestly, we are done with Twitter.
- 2:20Speaker 6: Blue Sky is the number one social media app currently
- 2:24Speaker 6: on the App Store.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I mean back in September they had just nine million users.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Now they have fourteen and a half. This is ten
- 2:30Speaker 2: times better than Twitter.
- 2:31Speaker 7: Because Twitter, Twitter right now is a fucking shit show.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Flavorflay flew on there.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I don't care about nough flavor fla, but I mean
- 2:37Speaker 1: like people actually going over there.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I recently deleted Twitter a few.
- 2:41Speaker 8: Weeks ago, so when I go on, like my home
- 2:43Speaker 8: feed on Twitter is just negative.
- 2:44Speaker 5: It can be too much.
- 2:45Speaker 2: It's too much. It's too much negativity going on Twitter.
- 2:48Speaker 2: You got it, delete it.
- 2:49Speaker 8: As a human.
- 2:49Speaker 9: I deleted Twitter today is an act of self preservation.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I always called it, like my newspaper.
- 2:56Speaker 4: The Guardian has left Twitter, Donald, I'm not gonna let
- 2:58Speaker 4: x Don Lemonon has left Twitter.
- 3:00Speaker 5: I've never seen publications actually leave Twitter.
- 3:02Speaker 10: SWIFTI is for those of you who have not yet heard,
- 3:05Speaker 10: we are moving ourselves on over to the Butterfly app.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Wan fuck with me and all my house, and even
- 3:13Speaker 2: if you're not as swifty, come on over.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Blue Sky is a decentralized social media platform.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I think it might be easier for people to adjust
- 3:21Speaker 3: to blue Sky as opposed to Masson, just because right
- 3:24Speaker 3: now Mason is very like tech nerd.
- 3:27Speaker 6: If it's going to be, if they're going to have monetization,
- 3:29Speaker 6: I need that, you don't understand.
- 3:31Speaker 4: And kissing goodbye my one point nine million followers over there.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I was only holding on to it because I really
- 3:37Speaker 4: didn't want someone trying to take over that name and
- 3:41Speaker 4: using it for nefarious purposes. So I was a little
- 3:43Speaker 4: bit worried about that.
- 3:44Speaker 10: Because each user is their own website, we can actually
- 3:46Speaker 10: just use domains as the username.
- 3:49Speaker 5: See identity is portable and the name is portable.
- 3:51Speaker 3: It is refreshing to be around other adults, real people,
- 3:56Speaker 3: not bots, real people between this TikTok band that we're
- 3:59Speaker 3: going to be having. I highly suggest going over to
- 4:02Speaker 3: blue Sky establishing a better social media presence than having
- 4:06Speaker 3: all of our data go to Elon.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Do you know how big Twitter is?
- 4:11Speaker 10: Do you know how big Elon Musk is makes you
- 4:13Speaker 10: think you stay a chance?
- 4:14Speaker 6: Let's run up them numbers let's matter of fact les
- 4:16Speaker 6: run them down.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I don't even know how to respond to that clip.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I'm not leaving Twitter, so you guys know you can
- 4:30Speaker 1: find me on x at Paul Baron. I don't know.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I do have a Blue Sky account somewhere lost in there.
- 4:36Speaker 1: We'll see if something happens on there. But anyway, I
- 4:38Speaker 1: want to jump over to the tweet right here from
- 4:40Speaker 1: players zero committing now in open see creating your player
- 4:42Speaker 1: zero avatar. You can level it up over there with wearables,
- 4:45Speaker 1: all sorts of stuff, and I think that's that's a
- 4:49Speaker 1: better use case of where digital might be going around avatars.
- 4:52Speaker 1: We'll see if this plays out. I want to bring
- 4:55Speaker 1: on Team Utoke coming in from Ready to Player me
- 4:58Speaker 1: to kind of chat about this. So Team, let's get
- 5:01Speaker 1: into a little bit about what you guys are doing
- 5:03Speaker 1: right now. I'm jumping over to player zero.
- 5:05Speaker 2: You guys can.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Probably see this on screen here a little bit. You
- 5:08Speaker 1: guys have changed things up a little bit. What's going on?
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah, hey Paul, thanks for having me. Yeah. So, Players
- 5:14Speaker 2: zero is a new product by Ready pay me, and
- 5:17Speaker 2: it's kind of a consumer focus product where ready pem
- 5:21Speaker 2: me is mostly a developer platform. So anyone that wants
- 5:24Speaker 2: to build a game, they need to build a character
- 5:25Speaker 2: system to give their users cool characters ouats. So we're
- 5:29Speaker 2: really focusing redype me and kind of outer tech, and
- 5:32Speaker 2: Player zero is our first kind of a fully consumer
- 5:36Speaker 2: focused platform where you can create an avatar, you can
- 5:39Speaker 2: collect outer collectibles as NFTs, and then you can use
- 5:42Speaker 2: those outers and games in stickers. Also, we just launched
- 5:47Speaker 2: a small kind of sticker experiment. The basically the idea
- 5:50Speaker 2: is that this is a universal avator that travels with
- 5:52Speaker 2: you across many different games in virtual worlds and becomes
- 5:55Speaker 2: your avatar across social media as PFB, stickers and also
- 5:59Speaker 2: games and generally, like we have four thousand companies that
- 6:02Speaker 2: are using our outer tech in their games virtual worlds.
- 6:05Speaker 2: We've been building avatar tech for a decade and this
- 6:09Speaker 2: is kind of like built on top of our network,
- 6:12Speaker 2: but it's like focused on a kind of a consumer experience,
- 6:15Speaker 2: So it's kind of new for us in that sense.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think the key here is that when
- 6:19Speaker 1: you look at averatcard development and what we're going to
- 6:21Speaker 1: see in the web three space, a lot of partnerships
- 6:24Speaker 1: that you guys have already started to explore how do
- 6:27Speaker 1: you see that kind of going forward in terms of
- 6:30Speaker 1: especially in the use of social media or decentralized social media,
- 6:34Speaker 1: if we get to a Web three version. Is this
- 6:37Speaker 1: something that is a big strategy for you guys.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yeah. So basically the core kind of way we built
- 6:45Speaker 2: collectibles out in the world is like, first to create
- 6:48Speaker 2: an outer for free, and then you can collect packs
- 6:50Speaker 2: that include Avata wearables. And the first job we did
- 6:54Speaker 2: was basically built by us and it was like an
- 6:56Speaker 2: open mient for too launched partform and now we're doing
- 6:59Speaker 2: a more limit that kind of Genesis limited Mint also
- 7:02Speaker 2: in soon. Okay. So basically through those pack drops, we
- 7:08Speaker 2: can partner up with a little different brands and we're
- 7:11Speaker 2: working on that. So the first two are basically to
- 7:14Speaker 2: kind of launch the platform and then we'll have a
- 7:17Speaker 2: drop roughly every month, and then you will bring in
- 7:21Speaker 2: a bunch of different partners from Web two brands Web
- 7:23Speaker 2: three brands for those new pack drops. So bintnerships are
- 7:27Speaker 2: definitely strong one on that front.
- 7:30Speaker 1: David Bozuki is here talking about roadblocks aiming for the
- 7:35Speaker 1: cosmetic category. I want to go to a clip real
- 7:37Speaker 1: quick and show you this one, you.
- 7:39Speaker 10: Want to capture ten percent of global gaming revenue. You
- 7:42Speaker 10: guys are pegging that number at one hundred and eighty billion,
- 7:45Speaker 10: meaning you'd want ten percent of that, and part of
- 7:47Speaker 10: that is e commerce and selling physical goods in virtual worlds.
- 7:52Speaker 9: Yeah, it's already happening. So some of our brand partners
- 7:55Speaker 9: like Fandango recently did an integration with us where for
- 7:59Speaker 9: the movie Beetlejuice that many of our roadblocks users bought
- 8:03Speaker 9: their tickets in roadblocks, So we have people buying shoes,
- 8:08Speaker 9: we have beauty products with Elf. With Walmart, we think
- 8:11Speaker 9: there's a huge opportunity, and we announced a partnership with shopifys.
- 8:16Speaker 10: You are able to circumvent the app stores that way
- 8:18Speaker 10: by doing it on PC. Is that ever going to
- 8:21Speaker 10: make its way onto mobile in Europe? That kind of
- 8:24Speaker 10: thing is becoming easier because if there's the Digital Markets Act,
- 8:27Speaker 10: How are you thinking about taking advantage of those new
- 8:30Speaker 10: regulations where we see you join Epic or one of
- 8:33Speaker 10: these alternative stores or are you sticking with Apple.
- 8:36Speaker 5: I'm optimistic.
- 8:38Speaker 9: We use virtual currency, we have a lovely economy.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I like the fact that he's looking at the use
- 8:43Speaker 1: case for avatars and you know, we've talked about this
- 8:46Speaker 1: with Base, the integration of avatars as your digital ID.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I think this is going to continue to grow. You
- 8:53Speaker 1: also look at kind of the growth of meme coins, timu.
- 8:56Speaker 1: If you look at just you know here recently a
- 8:58Speaker 1: coinbase is listing with now on coinbase. This is opening
- 9:04Speaker 1: up a lot of opportunity around some of the meme
- 9:06Speaker 1: coin ecosystems out there. Why not be able to go
- 9:10Speaker 1: in and maybe partner with these meme coins for some
- 9:13Speaker 1: sort of avatar integration. Are you guys do anything around
- 9:16Speaker 1: that yet?
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah, we are definitely exploring this as but one of
- 9:20Speaker 2: the potential avenues. And by the way, Dave is amazing
- 9:24Speaker 2: Roadblock CEO and he's our investor as well, And like
- 9:27Speaker 2: Roadblocks is the I think the closest thing to kind
- 9:30Speaker 2: of an open metaverse. Like it's not an open metaverse.
- 9:33Speaker 2: It's a one kind of confined platform and they have
- 9:35Speaker 2: their own engine, but they have millions of different games
- 9:38Speaker 2: and people can navigate between different games with the same
- 9:41Speaker 2: out there and assets and souf forth. So I think
- 9:43Speaker 2: Roadblocks is a very kind of a good case study
- 9:46Speaker 2: for what a more open virtual wealth could look like.
- 9:48Speaker 2: We can't speak too much about future partnerships at the moment,
- 9:51Speaker 2: but there's a lot of things in the works. I
- 9:53Speaker 2: think like meme coins, obviously they have a very kind
- 9:56Speaker 2: of strong culture around them and very strong communities, and
- 10:01Speaker 2: you know, with NFTs, it's very easy to kind of
- 10:03Speaker 2: show that you're part of the community, like you you
- 10:07Speaker 2: were the NFTs as a VP or something. With mean coins,
- 10:10Speaker 2: it's say it's le's it's that's let's stay forward. So
- 10:14Speaker 2: I think that it's possible that there's going to be
- 10:16Speaker 2: some kind of partnership between kind of some income communities
- 10:22Speaker 2: and n fd s or avatars because it helps you
- 10:25Speaker 2: signal that you're part of the community exactly, you know,
- 10:29Speaker 2: in a good way.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Well, I think one of the good ones out there
- 10:32Speaker 1: to watch for this would be my pick right here
- 10:34Speaker 1: would be Brett. I think this is a match, this
- 10:36Speaker 1: is a match made in heaven for it. Uh And
- 10:39Speaker 1: if you look at some of the things that many
- 10:41Speaker 1: of the CEOs have started to recognize this. Obviously we
- 10:43Speaker 1: saw Robin Hood getting a little more active around what's
- 10:47Speaker 1: going to happen in the mean coin market base. Of course,
- 10:49Speaker 1: jumping in on this, I actually want to go to
- 10:51Speaker 1: a clip. This is I think it's Brian Armstrong going
- 10:54Speaker 1: into this one where he talks about that the mean
- 10:57Speaker 1: coin season could be up on us.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 11:01Speaker 8: People are increasingly becoming aware that it's not just about bitcoin.
- 11:04Speaker 8: There are dozens hundreds of different assets in crypto that
- 11:08Speaker 8: are now they've met our listing standards, they've made it
- 11:10Speaker 8: onto our exchange, and actually there's thousands of these being
- 11:13Speaker 8: created every day.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Believe it or not.
- 11:14Speaker 8: I think we're eventually going to get to a world
- 11:16Speaker 8: where there's millions of these tokens. Every individual, every meme
- 11:20Speaker 8: on the Internet is going to have one of these.
- 11:22Speaker 8: It's going to be the next version of the stock market,
- 11:25Speaker 8: but it's also the next version of the Internet. It's
- 11:27Speaker 8: really the dawn of a new crypto era.
- 11:30Speaker 2: What do you think about Donald Trump's World Liberty financial
- 11:33Speaker 2: crypto projects.
- 11:34Speaker 8: I'm glad everybody's interested in crypto. That's great, but I
- 11:37Speaker 8: don't have too much to say on that particular one,
- 11:39Speaker 8: having not looked at it.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I love how our editors love to get that in there.
- 11:43Speaker 1: But anyway, I want to get into another clip. This
- 11:46Speaker 1: is Jesse Pollock. He's talking about on chain summer and
- 11:49Speaker 1: this is if you know Base, they're developing, as you
- 11:53Speaker 1: guys know every cycle forward on Chain. Summer's just ended
- 11:57Speaker 1: not too long ago, they're already planning for next year.
- 12:00Speaker 1: This is Jesse talking about this, and then I want
- 12:02Speaker 1: to I want to hit you up on where this
- 12:04Speaker 1: strategy could work long term, whether it's memes, whether we
- 12:08Speaker 1: look at digital ID with avatars, all that teamage. So
- 12:13Speaker 1: let's go to this clip.
- 12:14Speaker 5: In the last three months on Base, there have been
- 12:17Speaker 5: more tokens created than the entire history of Ethereum.
- 12:21Speaker 11: Now, you know, a lot of people can say, oh,
- 12:23Speaker 11: those tokens are just like spam, or it's meme coins
- 12:25Speaker 11: or whatever. But like what we're seeing happen is that
- 12:28Speaker 11: when you drive down costs one thousand x, you increase
- 12:31Speaker 11: innovation massively. And some of that innovation is going to
- 12:33Speaker 11: be chaotic and you know a little crazy, of course,
- 12:35Speaker 11: like that's what innovation does.
- 12:37Speaker 5: But a lot of that innovation is going to be
- 12:39Speaker 5: real and substantive. Really, just in the last six months,
- 12:41Speaker 5: with this combination of low cost l twos which just
- 12:43Speaker 5: got much lower costs before four, plus social graphs emerging
- 12:47Speaker 5: with things like forecast, plus better wallets with things like
- 12:50Speaker 5: smart wallets. It's finally ready. And what that's going to
- 12:54Speaker 5: lead to is like this summer, the end of this year,
- 12:56Speaker 5: next year, this cambreen explosion of real applications that people
- 13:00Speaker 5: can do on chain and coinbase and baseder can get
- 13:03Speaker 5: the absolute center of it.
- 13:04Speaker 1: You look at what Jesse's very excited there about. You
- 13:07Speaker 1: know the opportunities. Where do you see the opportunities, especially
- 13:11Speaker 1: within the base ecosystem for digital ideas and how it
- 13:15Speaker 1: ties into maybe an avatar solution like ready player me.
- 13:18Speaker 2: So, I think basis doing incredible job building a great
- 13:21Speaker 2: developer platform and are building a lot of users to it,
- 13:24Speaker 2: and that that's amazing. I think bimcoins definitely have been
- 13:27Speaker 2: the main kind of like focus of this cycle so far,
- 13:31Speaker 2: and I'm sure they will continue. Like lots of new
- 13:34Speaker 2: people coming in, they just don't like understand, Like you
- 13:38Speaker 2: go into the kind of crypto infrastructure project's website, it's
- 13:42Speaker 2: very hard to understand what they do, so and it's
- 13:44Speaker 2: much easier to kind of understand Internet culture and and
- 13:47Speaker 2: just by the meme that they think, you know, other
- 13:49Speaker 2: people could relate to as well. So that's that's that.
- 13:52Speaker 2: But I think with based and avatars. I think authors
- 13:56Speaker 2: generally are very kind of relatable to a large audience,
- 14:01Speaker 2: you know, young kids, like you know, doing kids like
- 14:04Speaker 2: my generation, and like we use outs all the time
- 14:07Speaker 2: with games and so forth, and it's a very kind
- 14:10Speaker 2: of natural thing to want to create an out and
- 14:12Speaker 2: to represent yourself as an out in social media as well.
- 14:16Speaker 2: So I just can be a good kind of an
- 14:18Speaker 2: onboarding ramp to kind of the crypto ecosystem. Like you
- 14:23Speaker 2: create an out with players zero for example, it's free
- 14:26Speaker 2: and you can you can make it for free, then
- 14:28Speaker 2: you can buy your first kind of like wearable pack
- 14:30Speaker 2: or earn it from games that then you know, then
- 14:33Speaker 2: you know, create a wallet and clean that asset. So
- 14:36Speaker 2: it kind of like gives people the first exposure to
- 14:39Speaker 2: web free. And I think that's why coin base and
- 14:42Speaker 2: base is interesting as well, Like they have a big
- 14:45Speaker 2: user base of kind of exchange users and they were
- 14:48Speaker 2: trying to onboard them to the Basico system, and I
- 14:52Speaker 2: think for that to happen, they need to be kind
- 14:54Speaker 2: of like interesting products that people want to use. And
- 14:57Speaker 2: mean coins is like that's the casino for part of
- 15:00Speaker 2: Web three and I think, you know, it's very fun
- 15:02Speaker 2: to be involved in it, but like we just need
- 15:05Speaker 2: to make sure we know that it is a casino.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Yeah exactly. But I'm looking at Meta and what they've
- 15:11Speaker 1: been able to do here recently in terms of avatars,
- 15:14Speaker 1: So this is kind of their idea you could go
- 15:18Speaker 1: with different kinds of experiences. This is showing you more,
- 15:21Speaker 1: you know, kind of their idea of an authentic expression,
- 15:25Speaker 1: more fantastical and then realistic in the future. Do you
- 15:29Speaker 1: see that as being maybe a trend going forward, because
- 15:33Speaker 1: I've started to see a little bit more of this
- 15:35Speaker 1: around AI generated avatars for these realistic looks and themes
- 15:40Speaker 1: anything planned for what you guys are doing around that.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I would say, like the realistic outers, the ultu realistic
- 15:45Speaker 2: outers are mostly like used for the kind of teleconferencing
- 15:50Speaker 2: or kind of like presence. So like if you want
- 15:53Speaker 2: to have kind of a video call but immersive, then
- 15:55Speaker 2: that's that's where you would use like a super hyper
- 15:57Speaker 2: realistic out there. And there are going to be some
- 16:00Speaker 2: games are like the highest level of games with like
- 16:02Speaker 2: hundreds of minutes in budgets and stuff that kind of
- 16:06Speaker 2: can do something like that, But most people in most
- 16:09Speaker 2: virtual worlds and experiences want to use a more card
- 16:12Speaker 2: to any outer, which is kind of a version of
- 16:14Speaker 2: themselves more than a full replica. That is very very realistic.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Although we took it to take a selfie and create
- 16:21Speaker 2: a version of yourself, but it's more of a car
- 16:23Speaker 2: to any version.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. Do you ever think do you think
- 16:26Speaker 1: that meta will ever open up, you know, to interoperable avatars,
- 16:31Speaker 1: especially around digital idea at some point.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think they are trying to do
- 16:35Speaker 2: something with them with meta outers, Like they've they've had them,
- 16:38Speaker 2: had it out for years and like some games or
- 16:41Speaker 2: some VR apps are using it, and you know, they
- 16:44Speaker 2: have a kind of a platform advantage where like you
- 16:47Speaker 2: set up your quest account, you make the quest outer there,
- 16:49Speaker 2: and then developers can support those outers in their games.
- 16:53Speaker 2: And don't think they're like very wide they adopted, but
- 16:56Speaker 2: they're definitely trying to They're trying to be interoperable within
- 16:59Speaker 2: their own ecosystem basically not interoperable between their ecosystem and
- 17:04Speaker 2: the rest of the world, so like more like creating
- 17:06Speaker 2: a mote around their own ecosystem.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Well, you look at Tim Sweeney, he was kind of
- 17:10Speaker 1: in a position I think that was a little bit
- 17:13Speaker 1: stand offish from web three and definitely between Web three gaming.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Here's a clip where he talks a little bit more
- 17:19Speaker 1: around maybe there's an opening here take a look.
- 17:23Speaker 7: And so I want to back up and talk about
- 17:25Speaker 7: the long term what Epic is going to be doing
- 17:28Speaker 7: for the rest of this decade. The ultimate aim of
- 17:31Speaker 7: this effort is to achieve technical interoperability and to achieve
- 17:35Speaker 7: economic interoperability and an open system in which purchases in
- 17:39Speaker 7: one place are honored in other places, and the entire
- 17:42Speaker 7: economy is an open economy where everybody can participate. Epic
- 17:46Speaker 7: and Disney are working together to build a new Disney ecosystem.
- 17:49Speaker 7: It is Disney's but is also fully connected to Fortnite,
- 17:52Speaker 7: such that anything you get in one place can work
- 17:55Speaker 7: in the other place. This partnership is just the first
- 17:57Speaker 7: step towards an open system. Game development is expensive, it's
- 18:00Speaker 7: low margin, and game companies are suffering. Apple and Google
- 18:03Speaker 7: make way more profit from most games than the developers
- 18:07Speaker 7: make themselves while contributing nothing. That and this has to change. Yes,
- 18:13Speaker 7: UK and Japan have passed new laws. Now there's much
- 18:16Speaker 7: more to do. We're going to keep fighting on until
- 18:18Speaker 7: there's an aultimate victory. The open platforms are more fun.
- 18:24Speaker 7: There's just way more innovation.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Point is it seems to be open. And he sounds
- 18:28Speaker 1: to me like he's talking about Web three. Maybe it's not,
- 18:30Speaker 1: but the idea is that of Web three. Your thoughts
- 18:35Speaker 1: on how quick we're going to see that, you know
- 18:37Speaker 1: from some of the mainstream, whether it's the gaming ecosystems,
- 18:40Speaker 1: social ecosystems of truly maybe at least accepting the digital
- 18:46Speaker 1: id concept behind what Web three represents.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so Tim Sween is the biggest advocate for like
- 18:52Speaker 2: a true open metaverse and it's been like and he's
- 18:56Speaker 2: been very consistent with that, which is like very cool
- 18:59Speaker 2: to see. Isn't yet a very clear case study for
- 19:03Speaker 2: an open economy interoperability that proves to the big players
- 19:08Speaker 2: that they'll end up you know, having a better experience
- 19:10Speaker 2: and making more money as a result. So and that's
- 19:13Speaker 2: why I like the Web three space is so important.
- 19:15Speaker 2: This because like the Web three space believes in all
- 19:19Speaker 2: the things that Tim Sweeney believes in kind of like
- 19:21Speaker 2: building a more open and connected system and hopefully by
- 19:25Speaker 2: kind of networking together or interoperating within the Web three space,
- 19:30Speaker 2: we can prove to the world that, you know, building
- 19:33Speaker 2: a more open economy is better.
- 19:35Speaker 1: It could happen. I think it's going to happen in
- 19:36Speaker 1: Web three. First, I'm looking at your Twitter account. We
- 19:39Speaker 1: are play zero. What are you talking about here? Something
- 19:42Speaker 1: is coming? Something is coming?
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, have a new drop coming. So we did the
- 19:48Speaker 2: first job, which was an open mint. We've been to
- 19:51Speaker 2: eighty one thousand OUs wearable packs that gave you like
- 19:54Speaker 2: different items for the outer and the second one is
- 19:57Speaker 2: going to be a limited drump. So that's going to
- 19:59Speaker 2: be like Genesis first, kind of like a real collectible dropped.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Not a lot of supply, so and yeah, so we're
- 20:09Speaker 2: working towards that at the moment. We made a quick
- 20:12Speaker 2: short teaser on that I think a few days ago.
- 20:15Speaker 2: So but yeah, that's coming soon. No date public this year.
- 20:20Speaker 2: I yet you look at.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Very cool, all right, So you look at the interoperability
- 20:26Speaker 1: capability of what Web three represents. I think about Avalanche.
- 20:32Speaker 1: You know they've got the l one architecture used to
- 20:34Speaker 1: be the subnet concept behind what they were trying to do. Basically,
- 20:37Speaker 1: everybody can go and build their own chain. There is
- 20:40Speaker 1: a way to go interoperable between those chains or between
- 20:43Speaker 1: those l ones. Here's my question to you, is that
- 20:47Speaker 1: something that would work with ready player me to where
- 20:51Speaker 1: you know, whether you had an you know, an off
- 20:52Speaker 1: the grid, a pulsar, you know, all sorts of difference,
- 20:55Speaker 1: maybe social platforms, et cetera, that could utilize a digital
- 20:59Speaker 1: idea e format that has nothing to do with the
- 21:02Speaker 1: game or even the use case. But wouldn't that make
- 21:05Speaker 1: a perfect place to work in in terms of the
- 21:08Speaker 1: AVAX ecosystem.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I think like we don't want to be tied
- 21:12Speaker 2: into any specific ecosystem, like we think of kind of
- 21:16Speaker 2: the whole virtual world. So definitely that's an interesting, interesting
- 21:21Speaker 2: ecosystem to work in. I think like the there's like
- 21:25Speaker 2: two different levels of interoperability that I needed for making
- 21:29Speaker 2: like game assets and outers to be usable in multiple games.
- 21:32Speaker 2: One thing is that you have an NTHENA wallet and
- 21:35Speaker 2: you can go to a different game and you can
- 21:36Speaker 2: see the nftena wallet, and theoretically the other game also
- 21:39Speaker 2: knows that you owned other assets. The ownership is unchained,
- 21:43Speaker 2: but the asset for the asset to actually be usable
- 21:47Speaker 2: in the other game, that's the most complicated part, not
- 21:50Speaker 2: the ownership itself. That's very complicated. And that's what we
- 21:53Speaker 2: do with would you really pay me? And that's kind
- 21:55Speaker 2: of the layer you need to actually make assets usable
- 21:59Speaker 2: game to game.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. We talked with the Ready Verse team
- 22:02Speaker 1: a couple of times about this, and I would agree
- 22:05Speaker 1: with you. This is something though, that's happening right now.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Open is bringing their ips together. So we're seeing this
- 22:11Speaker 1: both from you guys, Neo Tokyo there, rebok You've got
- 22:15Speaker 1: Illuvium on here, cool cats, et cetera. So a pretty
- 22:19Speaker 1: good extension of IP coming around maybe to the future
- 22:24Speaker 1: of where this could go into more of an open platform,
- 22:27Speaker 1: like what you're talking about.
- 22:29Speaker 2: I know we're doing something with them, but I'm not
- 22:31Speaker 2: fully sure. Actually, Okay, it's like there's it's different to
- 22:35Speaker 2: bring an IP into a game and then like build
- 22:38Speaker 2: all the assets from scratch for this particular game, versus
- 22:42Speaker 2: like taking an asset that is built for a different
- 22:44Speaker 2: game and making it usable and multiple different games. Yeah,
- 22:48Speaker 2: so for sure, I think what they're doing is more
- 22:50Speaker 2: of a kind of a Fortnite strategy where they go
- 22:53Speaker 2: different bring it together and create all the assets and
- 22:56Speaker 2: stuff for their game.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Well, and I think the key here, guys, is that
- 23:00Speaker 1: digital id's coming. I think obviously the avatar component will
- 23:03Speaker 1: be one of the huge scenarios that will play out
- 23:06Speaker 1: here for everybody, you know, thinking about whether it's gaming
- 23:10Speaker 1: or just Web three experiences that are going to begin
- 23:12Speaker 1: to develop, including productivity. I think this will happen in
- 23:15Speaker 1: everything that ties into the Web three space. Over the
- 23:19Speaker 1: next you know, three to five years, we're going to
- 23:20Speaker 1: see a lot of that kind of development. Timu, it's
- 23:23Speaker 1: been great having you on. Thanks again for coming on
- 23:25Speaker 1: the show. We appreciate it. We'll definitely get you guys
- 23:27Speaker 1: back as things start to develop for you, so we
- 23:30Speaker 1: press your time, all right.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Thanks, thank you, Paul, I appreciate it. Thanks for having thanks.
